This document discusses the development of a DC fast charger and battery management system for electric vehicles. It aims to reduce charging times for EVs by designing an efficient charging mechanism. A PIC microcontroller controls the charging voltage and a battery management system monitors battery temperature, voltage, current and provides notifications. The system uses a step-down transformer, rectifier, voltage regulators and temperature sensor to charge lithium-ion batteries safely and quickly, while the battery management system protects the batteries from overcharging or overheating. Faster charging times through more charging stations could encourage greater adoption of electric vehicles.

Electric Vehicles (EV) use a battery to store the electric energy that powers the motor. EV batteries are charged by plugging the vehicle into an electric power source. Hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs), plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) and all-electric vehicles (EVs)—also called electric drive vehicles collectively—use electricity either as their primary fuel or to improve the efficiency of conventional vehicle designs.
Reduced fuel consumption and emissions, optimized fuel efficiency and performance, lower operational cost, rising conventional fuel costs are some factors that make use of EVs advantageous. However, tech and other challenges are in front of EVs to make them popular selling asset among masses. High EV price limit the current customer group to consist of primarily tech savvy and environmental ideologists, however, new research indicates that charging time and driving range are most influencing the purchase decision. Due to scale of production and technological development, it seems likely that there will be significant price erosion related to EV batteries over the next 10 years. This will most likely influence EV prices and increase sales.
Moreover, along with the gradual emergence of EVs- innovators and entrepreneurs are introducing new and visionary business models. Incidentally, EVs are sold on subscription- and rental companies are beginning to include EVs as part of their fleet of program. For example, as integrators or mobility service providers, the EV value chain creates opportunities for newcomers to participate and create value on mobility market. The integrators are the future industry actors, who will handle the integration between EV charging and intelligent home billing etc. Reportedly, ECOtality partnered Sprint Nextel and Cisco to deliver wireless connectivity for charging stations and home energy management solutions/controllers.
This report aims to highlight the drivers and inhibitors that influence the roll-out of electric cars in terms of adoption speed, cost and user acceptance. The report is largely based on the general market data, which has been analysed and correlated with the data from fleet test of electric vehicles which was conducted in and around the metropolitan area of Copenhagen (Denmark). The report also explores an analysis of comparative advantages of plug-in hybrid electric vehicles over EVs.

Electric vehicle (EV) has gained incredible interest from the past two decade
as one of the hopeful greenhouse gasses solution. The number of Electric
Vehicle (EV) is increasing around the world; hence that making EVs user
friendly becomes more important. The main challenge in usage of EV is the
charging time required for the batteries used in EV. As a consequence, this
subject matter has been researched in many credentials where a wide range
of solutions have been proposed. However those solutions are in nature due
to the complex hardware structure. To provide an unswerving journey
an Android application based charging optimization is proposed.
This application is aimed at giving relevant information about the EV’s
battery state of charge (SOC), accurate location of the EV, booking of the
charging slots using token system and route planner. At emergency
situations, an alternative service is provided by mobile charging stations.
Route planner indicates the temperature by which prediction of reaching the
destination can be done. In addition to that nearest places such as parks,
motels are indicated. The estimated time and distance between the electric
vehicle and the charging station is calculated by the charging station server
according to which the parking lot is allocated. Vehicle to charging station
communication is established for the time estimation of charging. This will
help the EV users to know about charge status and charging station, which
support fast charging method and availability of the station on the go
and also when to charge their EV. The Arduino UNO board has been used
for the hardware part. The hardware results are confirming the conceptual of
the proposed work.
Have you pulled your car up to the gas/petrol pump lately and been shocked by the high
price of gasoline? As the pump clicked past Rs1400 or 1500, maybe you thought about
trading in that SUV for something that gets better mileage. Or maybe you are worried
that your car is contributing to the greenhouse effect. Or maybe you just want to have
the coolest car on the block. Currently, there is a solution for all this problems, it's the
hybrid electric vehicle.
The vehicle is lighter and roomier than a purely electric vehicle, because there is less
need to carry as many heavy batteries. The internal combustion engine in hybrid-electric
is much smaller and lighter and more efficient than the engine in a conventional vehicle.
In fact, most automobile manufacturers have announced plans to manufacture their own
hybrid versions. Hybrid electric vehicles are all around us. Most of the locomotives we
see pulling trains are diesel-electric hybrids. Cities like Seattle have diesel-electric
buses -- these can draw electric power from overhead wires or run on diesel when they
are away from the wires. Giant mining trucks are often diesel-electric hybrids.
Submarines are also hybrid vehicles -- some are nuclear-electric and some are dieselelectric. Any vehicle that combines two or more sources of power that can directly or
indirectly provide propulsion power is a hybrid.

This system is designed to prevent green house effect caused due to the burning of fossil fuel and reduce pollution for the environment. The designing, construction and implementation of the Solar and Electric Powered Hybrid Vehicle SEPHV are expressed in this paper. The power supply of the SEPHV can be charged by the solar and normal AC power source too. In this system, the series combination of 12V six lead acid batteries is used for the driving motor power supply 40~60V DC . The 50W six solar panels are used for charging each of batteries. The charge controller is designed to be the supply batteries with the minimum amount charge possible and to protect from overcharge by the solar panels as well as over discharge by the driving motor. In this SEPHV, wireless message display system is also designed by Arduino software. The weight of the car without load is 300kg. As the results, this SEPHV is capable of accommodating at least four persons 250kg with an average speed of 57km hr. By using this, we can be able to reduce the all kind pollutions and fuel economy. This paper addresses the vulnerability of deep learning models, particularly convolutional neural networks
(CNN)s, to adversarial attacks and presents a proactive training technique designed to counter them. We
introduce a novel volumization algorithm, which transforms 2D images into 3D volumetric representations.
When combined with 3D convolution and deep curriculum learning optimization (CLO), itsignificantly improves
the immunity of models against localized universal attacks by up to 40%. We evaluate our proposed approach
using contemporary CNN architectures and the modified Canadian Institute for Advanced Research (CIFAR-10
and CIFAR-100) and ImageNet Large Scale Visual Recognition Challenge (ILSVRC12) datasets, showcasing
accuracy improvements over previous techniques. The results indicate that the combination of the volumetric

Here's a great example: At a large natural gas-fired power plant, where they use waste heat to generate steam and energy, they were puzzled that their boiler wasn't producing as much steam as expected.
R&R and Tetra Engineering Group Inc. were asked to solve the issue with reduced steam production.
An inspection had shown that a significant amount of hot flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes, where the heat was supposed to be transferred.
R&R Consult conducted a CFD analysis, which revealed that 6.3% of the flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes without transferring heat. The analysis also showed that the flue gas was instead being directed along the sides of the boiler and between the modules that were supposed to capture the heat. This was the cause of the reduced performance.
Based on our results, Tetra Engineering installed covering plates to reduce the bypass flow. This improved the boiler's performance and increased electricity production.
