7. Journals
A regular publication containing articles on a particular academic
subject. Presents new research. Usually electronic
Good for...... Latest research, critically reviewed by experts
Not so good for..... Broad overview of a subject
Information will be very specific – focus on an area of study or topic
Published on a regular basis – weekly, once a month, quarterly

8. Newspapers
A regular publication containing current events, informative
articles, diverse features and advertising. May be electronic
Good for ..... Daily information
Not so good for .... Balanced and well researched information
Includes performance and exhibition reviews

9. Evaluate your resources
A useful method to use is to think about the following:
What – what is the article about?
Where – where was it published? What kind of journal
When– when was it published?
Who – who is responsible for the article?
Why – why have they written it?
