Villages remain valuable and critical for India's growth and development. Ignoring village will be counter-productive for the nation and urban India. Rural India needs empowerment and skilling to use the large manpower resource available with the villages. Agriculture needs reinvention and redefinition to make it more productive and for bringing more dividends. Villages need to be planned and designed with all basic amenities and services so to make them self-reliant and self-sustaining to enable them grow as inclusive human settlements. Villages offer enormous opportunities to leverage the growth provided they co-operate, collaborate and come on the same platform of thoughts and action . Most of the rural ills have genesis in the rural population which remain self-created and self-imposed. Solution are obvious with the villagers themselves. Time is ripe to empower Rural India to overcome those problems through its own innovations and actions to make India global leaders and to make urban India more effective and efficient, clean, green and sustainable.
As a part of internship at MGNCRE, I have prepared this report on a village in Andhra Pradesh. This report typically includes PRA tools to document the problems of the village. I am currently pursuing MBA in Rural Management at KIIT School of Rural Management.

Water remains the creator, supporter and sustainer of all living beings .However, despite 71% of the area of earth is under oceans, potable water remains valuable for the simple reason that Ninety-seven percent (97%) of total water available on this planet is, primarily and essentially, salt water which is not suitable and appropriate for drinking. Only three percent (3%) of total water on earth is freshwater, out of which only 0.5% is suitable for drinking, while remaining 2.5% of freshwater is found locked in glaciers, ice caps, atmosphere, soil or under the Earth’s surface. Accordingly, water needs to be valued, preserved, protected and used with utmost care and caution. Involving communities and making them active partners in understanding and appreciating the criticality of water in human living. Involving educational institutions; making water integral part of study curricula; Evolving appropriate technologies for restoring waste water for human consumption; making water integral part of settlement planning; Adopting regional approach ; Reinventing sanitation system and shifting it from water base to non- water base; Promoting multiple use of water and adopting circular economy approach; Reinventing and restoring the traditional systems of water sourcing and storage ; Optimization of rain water harvesting, improving water resources management ; Putting in place good governance , adopting a multi-pronged strategy, involving individuals, communities, stakeholders and bringing them on a common platform besides mapping , preserving, protecting, promoting, integrating all the available sources of water ; adoption of a holistic and integrated approach to water management will not only help in eradicating poverty, building peaceful and prosperous societies and achieving the agenda mandated in Goal 6 of SDG 2030, but will also ensure that ‘no one is left behind’ on the road towards sustainable development.

getting better. But as the problem domain is also becoming more complex in nature, continuous research work
is still going on. In this paper, we have studied several well-known methodologies and algorithms for fuzzy

A Survey of Agent Based Pre-Processing and Knowledge RetrievalIOSR Journals
Abstract: Information retrieval is the major task in present scenario as quantum of data is increasing with a
tremendous speed. So, to manage & mine knowledge for different users as per their interest, is the goal of every
organization whether it is related to grid computing, business intelligence, distributed databases or any other.
To achieve this goal of extracting quality information from large databases, software agents have proved to be
a strong pillar. Over the decades, researchers have implemented the concept of multi agents to get the process
of data mining done by focusing on its various steps. Among which data pre-processing is found to be the most
sensitive and crucial step as the quality of knowledge to be retrieved is totally dependent on the quality of raw
data. Many methods or tools are available to pre-process the data in an automated fashion using intelligent
(self learning) mobile agents effectively in distributed as well as centralized databases but various quality
factors are still to get attention to improve the retrieved knowledge quality. This article will provide a review of
the integration of these two emerging fields of software agents and knowledge retrieval process with the focus
on data pre-processing step.

Modeling and Analysis of Support Pin for Brake Spider Fixture by Fem Using An...IOSR Journals
Abstract: A fixture is designed and built to hold, support and locate every component to ensure that each is
drilled or machined with accuracy and manufactured individually. A fixture can be designed for a particular
job. A brake spider includes a spider body with a central opening and a slot for receiving a camshaft and
bracket assembly. The brake spider is attached to axle housing via the central opening. The form to be used
depends on the shape and requirement of the work piece to be machined. In the existing fixture, used for
modeling brake spider component, only five components were machined per hour. In the present work, detailed
study of brake spider component is carried out and design is modified to increase the productivity. The new
fixture design is carried out by using CATIA V5 modeling software and it is critically evaluated for the failure of
support pin component, by finite element method (FEM) using ANSYS software. This modified design is adapted
in the fabrication of fixture and is tested for its productivity. It is found that there is a considerable enhancement
in the productivity to seven components per hour with required accuracy.

Abstract : In image analysis, segmentation is the partitioning of a digital image into multiple regions (sets of
pixels), according to some homogeneity criterion. The problem of segmentation is a well-studied one in
literature and there are a wide variety of approaches that are used. Different approaches are suited to different
types of images and the quality of output of a particular algorithm is difficult to measure quantitatively due to
the fact that there may be much correct segmentation for a single image. Image segmentation denotes a process
by which a raw input image is partitioned into nonoverlapping regions such that each region is homogeneous
and the union of any two adjacent regions is heterogeneous. A segmented image is considered to be the highest
domain-independent abstraction of an input image. Image segmentation is an important processing step in many
image, video and computer vision applications. Extensive research has been done in creating many different
approaches and algorithms for image segmentation, but it is still difficult to assess whether one algorithm
produces more accurate segmentations than another, whether it be for a particular image or set of images, or
more generally, for a whole class of images.

Speed and Position Control of Train Sytem Using GPS IOSR Journals
The passengers face some problems regarding the arrival time of the train and they go on asking the
ticket checkers about the arrival. This creates trouble to the ticket checker to keep answering thousands of
passengers who are boarding the train. The GPS (Global Positioning System) gives the position of any object on
which it as placed with respect to the latitude and longitude of the earth. This technique would be helpful in tracking
the exact location of the train and as well the speed of the moving object. Some of the human activities causing
accidents include railway level crossing during the approach of train, misplaced fish plates and high speed at places
where speed should actually be less. So the system designed here which is called as ATCS (Advanced train control system) helps in reducing the accidents to an extent.
Ethernet Enabled Digital I/O Control in Embedded SystemsIOSR Journals
Abstract: This paper presents very simple and economical way to provide Ethernet connectivity to micro controller based embedded systems. Abstract: The project is to monitor the driver’s eye movement by using webcam and EOG channel respectively. Embedded project is to design and develop a low cost feature which is based on embedded platform for finding the driver drowsiness. Specifically, our Embedded System includes a webcam placed on the steering column which is capable to capture the eye movements and EOG placed at the forehead of the Driver to find out the visual activity. If the driver is not paying attention on the road ahead and a dangerous situation is detected, the system will warn the driver by giving the warning sounds. Kineto-Elasto Dynamic Analysis of Robot Manipulator Puma-560IOSR Journals
Current industrial robots are made very heavy to achieve high Stiffness
which increases the accuracy of their motion. However this heaviness limits the robot speed and in masses the
required energy to move the system. The requirement for higher speed and better system performance makes it
necessary to consider a new generation of light weight manipulators as an alternative to today's massive
inefficient ones. Light weight manipulators require Less energy to move and they have larger payload abilities
and more maneuverability. However due to the dynamic effects of structural flexibility, their control is much
more difficult. Therefore, there is a need to develop accurate dynamic models for design and control of such
systems.This project presents the flexibility and Kineto - Elasto dynamic analysis of robot manipulator
considering deflection. Based on the distributed parameter method, the generalized motion equations of robot
manipulator with flexible links are derived. The final formulation of the motion equations is used to model
general complex elastic manipulators with nonlinear rigid-body and elastic motion in dynamics and it can be
used in the flexibility analysis of robot manipulators and spatial mechanisms. Manipulator end-effector path
trajectory, velocity and accelerations are plotted. Joint torques is to be determined for each joint trajectory
(Dynamics) .Using joint torques, static loading due to link’s masses, masses at joints, and payload, the robot
arms elastic deformations are to be found by using ANSYS-12.0 software package. Elastic compensation is
inserted in coordinates of robotic programming to get exact end-effectors path. A comparison of paths
trajectory of the end-effector is to be plotted. Also variation of torques is plotted after considering elastic
compensation. These torque variations are included in the robotic programming for getting the accurate endeffect
or’s path trajectory
Evaluation of and Fracture Behavior of Alloy 90 SheetsIOSR Journals
Abstract: ALLOY–90 refers to a family of austenitic nickel-based super alloys. Nimonic alloys typically consist
of roughly 80% nickel and 20% chromium with additives such as titanium and aluminium. Nickel-based
superalloys, among several high temperature structural alloys, are the prime materials for numerous advanced
high temperature structural components. Several advanced processing technologies, such as isothermal forging,
equiangle extrusion, investment casting, directional solidification and single crystal technologies, similar and
dissimilar metal joining, destructive and non- destructive testing too have also evolved.
In the past, a few attempts have been made to study the deformation behavior and Fracture behavior of the
alloy 90 sheets for sheet metal applications. However, these studies were limited to different commercial grades
such as cold rolled sheets of thicknesses upto 2 mm. None of these studies have addressed the influence of
microstructure and texture for ultra-thin sheet applications. Hence, a comprehensive study has been undertaken
to evaluate the ambient temperature deformation characteristics as a function of degree of cold rolling and
ageing.
In order to determine the tensile properties, tensile tests are conducted on the alloy-90 sheets of 1 mm
and 0.5 mm thicknesses in different heat treat conditions in different specimen orientations namely R, R+30º,
R+45º, R+60º and RT. The fracture behavior of the alloy sheets are studied to determine the mode of fracture.
present work includes comparison of tensile properties of macro and micro specimens of alloy 90 sheet and
properties evaluated in the present work include tensile flow behavior in various microstructural conditions
such as Cold rolled, Solution treated, aged for different times.

Abstract: In this paper, we present Development of computer aided environment for drawing (to set) fill in the
blanks that can generate for given paragraph. The System finds fill in the blanks, blanking key generates from
the selected statement. Syntactic and lexical features are used in this process. NLP parser is used, part of speech
taggers are applied on each of these sentences to encode necessary information.
We present our work in designing and implementing the system which generate the blanks. The System is
developed in Java using JDBC which is open source.

In wireless communication system transmitted signals are subjected to multiple reflections,
diffractions and attenuation caused by obstacles such as buildings and hills, etc. At the receiver end, multiple
copies of the transmitted signal are received that arrive at clearly distinguishable time instants and are faded by
signal cancellation. Rake receiver is a technique to combine these so called multi-paths [2] by utilizing multiple
correlation receivers allocated to those delay positions on which the significant energy arrives which achieves a
significant improvement in the SNR of the output signal. This paper shows how the rake, including dispreading
and descrambling could be replaced by a receiver that can be implemented on a CORDIC based hardware
architecture. The performance in conjunction with the computational requirements of the receiver is widely
adjustable which is significantly better than that of the conventional rake receiver
There is increased use of nuclear energy after the Second World War which results in increase in artificial radioactivity on our planet. The objective of this article is to show the estimated amount of artificial radioactivity on earth surface and its effect by comparing it with the radioactive decay which took place in Hiroshima bombing by ‘little boy’. There is estimated amount of 100 trillion curie of radioactivity on earth surface for human use. This man made radioactivity on earth surface has capacity to change temperature of the earth by 0.97oC if heat is evenly distributed and unfortunately Hiroshima bombing did not stop but continued at rate of 39 ‘little boy’ bombing of the earth per second. Every second 39 atomic bombs of ‘little boy’ size are dropped. One can see the large amount of bombing taking place on the earth by artificial radioactivity and the bombing should be stopped and further analysis of artificial radioactivity should also be done

Abstract: The changing global market scenario, high level of competition, and faster obsolescence of
perishable products due to short self life and changing customer demand are among the key challenges faced by
perishable supply chains. Supply chains need to compete with growing variety of products, short delivery time,
higher cycle service level, high quality and lower cost. Perishability imposes an intense pressure on managers
as it adds an additional cost of disposal of outdated items, leading to out-of-stock situations and also loss of
company faith. These problems are arising mostly due to the lack of information at every stage of the supply
chains. The inadequate information about product quality, quantity, demand variability, product availability
and lead times creates the bullwhip effect (BWE) at all stages and chains leads to the mismanagement.
RFID technologies, with the appropriate IT infrastructure, would help major distributors and manufacturers, as
well as health-care system, defence industries, and global supply chains in which products and product
shipments must be traced and identified in a non-contact, wireless fashion using a computer network. This
paper presents the impact of RFID in warehouse management of perishable products. It provides mathematical
framework to asses the benefits of RFID in warehouse management. It helps management in the variety of ways
including improvement in receiving and shipping processes, reduction in cycle counting efforts, reduction in
stock outs/excess inventory, decreased counterfeiting, decreased returns, and reduction in inventory loss due to
shrinkage and obsolescence. A sensitivity analysis has been presented at the end of paper which shows the
compound effect of RFID, reduction in lead time and lead time variability. In all scenarios inventory level is
reduced by certain percentage by incorporating RFID.

Ensuring Distributed Accountability for Data Sharing Using Reversible Data Hi...IOSR Journals
Recently, more and more attention is paid to reversible data hiding (RDH) in encrypted images,
since it maintains the excellent property that the original cover can be lossless recovered after embedded data is
extracted while protecting the image content’s confidentiality. All previous methods embed data by reversibly
vacating room from the encrypted images, which may be subject to some errors on data extraction and/or image
restoration. In this paper, we propose a novel method by reserving room before encryption with a traditional
RDH algorithm, and thus it is easy for the data hider to reversibly embed data in the encrypted image. The
proposed method can achieve real reversibility, that is, data extraction and image recovery are free of any
error. A major feature of the centralized database services is that users’ data are usually processed remotely in
unknown machines that users do not own or operate. While enjoying the convenience brought by this new
emerging technology, users’ fears of losing control of their own data (particularly, financial and health data)
can become a significant barrier to the wide adoption of centralized database services. To address this problem,
in this paper, we propose a novel highly decentralized information accountability framework to keep track of the
actual usage of the user’s data in the cloud Over-lay Network. We leverage the LOG file create a dynamic and
traveling object, and to ensure that any access to users’ data will trigger authentication and automated logging
local to the LOGs. To strengthen user’s control, we also provide distributed auditing mechanisms. We provide
extensive experimental studies that demonstrate the efficiency and effectiveness of the proposed approaches.

This paper suggests a continuous improvement plan that can satisfy customer’s value and eliminate
waste in the enterprise business process. In order to explore the applicability of lean management principles in
the enterprise business process, the five fundamental concepts (specify value, identify the value stream, flow,
pull, and perfection) of lean management are being used as a stable and proved approach. In addition, Business
Process Management is applied as a new method to constantly improve the elimination of waste in the
enterprise business process. This can be accomplished by the lean management concept. Moreover business
process problems, such as overlapping work, redoing work, communication gaps, inflexible processes, and
obscure processes, have the possibility of being solved by lean management.
Lean management has traditionally been adopted by manufacturing industries to improve operations through
the identification and elimination of all forms of waste basically. The construction industry has also adopted this
philosophy, primarily in the field of projects. In order to increase an organization’s competitiveness and
productivity, lean management is needed in the any business process as well as in the field. The intent of this
work is to explore a method of introducing lean management which continuously improves any business
processes. The five fundamental concepts (specify value, identify the value stream, flow, pull, and perfection) of
lean management as an approach are being adapted in this project to improve quality of the processes. Hence
the main objective of this paper to apply the tool of lean and six sigma management to improve the elimination
of waste in the enterprises business process. Followed by a literature review which provides a brief summary of
lean thinking and six sigma along with challenges might face while implementing. A case study follows that
demonstrates how; Business Process Management is applied as a tool, method to constantly improve the
business process.
Automated Water Management and Distribution System using DTMFijtsrd

Water is precious! The access to safe water in India has commendably improved from 72% in 1990 to 94% in 2014. Delay in providing facilities to counterbalance the population growth and water demand is the major problem in India. Water loss in water distribution systems in an important issue in India. Studies indicate that up to 50-60 percent of treated and pumped water in lost during transit form water treatment plant to consumer end. It has, therefore, attracted a lot of attention of practioners and the researchers as well over the past few years. High levels of non-revenue water (NRW) reflect huge volumes of water lost through physical and apparent loss components, not being invoiced to customers. It seriously affects the financial viability of water utilities through lost revenue and increased costs. The overall objective of a distribution system is to deliver wholesome water to consumers at adequate residual pressure in sufficient quantity and achieve continuity and maximum coverage by reducing losses. A case study of 4-pilot sites of Jaipur city was taken for NRW study. This paper provides a review of the issues and strategy pertaining to reduction of NRW with special reference to India and the necessity of evolving appropriate performance indicator.
Performance Evaluation of 9 MLD Sewage Treatment Plant at Gurgaon and Cost Ef...civej
Sewage treatment plant under study has 9 MLD capacity and is located in Gurgaon. It receives sewage from the surrounding residential areas and after three stage treatment, treated effluent is supplied back to meet water requirement for various purposes. This has certainly reduced dependency on the precious underground water and thereby reducing the burden and saving environment. For performance evaluation of the sewage treatment plant samples were collected at various stages i.e., at inlet raw sewage, after primary treatment, secondary treatment and after tertiary treatment. Samples were tested to measure various parameters like pH, Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD), Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD), Dissolved Oxygen (DO), Total Suspended Solids (TSS), Total Kjedahl Nitrogen (TKN), Total Coliform, Phosphorous and Oil & Grease. Data on above parameters were observed and collected for three months November, 2014 to January, 2015. All these treatment are adding a huge cost to the recycled water. Hence the present study is aimed to provide alternatives to reduce the cost input. Also studies were made to find out ways by minimizing processes and stages of treatment.

A hierarchical digital twin of a Naval DC power system has been developed and experimentally verified. Similar to other state-of-the-art digital twins, this technology creates a digital replica of the physical system executed in real-time or faster, which can modify hardware controls. However, its advantage stems from distributing computational efforts by utilizing a hierarchical structure composed of lower-level digital twin blocks and a higher-level system digital twin. Each digital twin block is associated with a physical subsystem of the hardware and communicates with a singular system digital twin, which creates a system-level response. By extracting information from each level of the hierarchy, power system controls of the hardware were reconfigured autonomously. This hierarchical digital twin development offers several advantages over other digital twins, particularly in the field of naval power systems. The hierarchical structure allows for greater computational efficiency and scalability while the ability to autonomously reconfigure hardware controls offers increased flexibility and responsiveness. The hierarchical decomposition and models utilized were well aligned with the physical twin, as indicated by the maximum deviations between the developed digital twin hierarchy and the hardware.

Immunizing Image Classifiers Against Localized Adversary Attacksgerogepatton
This paper addresses the vulnerability of deep learning models, particularly convolutional neural networks
(CNN)s, to adversarial attacks and presents a proactive training technique designed to counter them. We
introduce a novel volumization algorithm, which transforms 2D images into 3D volumetric representations.
When combined with 3D convolution and deep curriculum learning optimization (CLO), itsignificantly improves
the immunity of models against localized universal attacks by up to 40%. We evaluate our proposed approach
using contemporary CNN architectures and the modified Canadian Institute for Advanced Research (CIFAR-10
and CIFAR-100) and ImageNet Large Scale Visual Recognition Challenge (ILSVRC12) datasets, showcasing

Abstract: The availability of water at cheaper rates promotes the wasteful use of water. People give little or no
attention towards conservation of water. For sustenance of any water supply scheme it is essential that
revenue collected should be sufficient to maintain O & M cost and further development activities. Presently
there is major portion of Non Revenue Water (NRW) in the developing countries and there is urgent need to
curb it for efficient functioning of water supply schemes.

I. Introduction
Water scenario in the world / world water inventory
The total quantity of water in the world is roughly 1357.5 million cubic kilometers (Mkm3
). About 97%
of this water is contained in the oceans as saline water and only 37.5 Mkm3
is fresh water. Out of this about 8.5
Mkm3
is both liquid and fresh and the remaining is contained in frozen state as ice in the Polar Regions and on
mountains tops and glaciers[2]. Water demand is increasing day by day due to increase in population,
urbanization, agriculture, industrialization etc.The groundwater table is falling rapidly throughout the world due
to wide spread over pumping using powerful pumps. World is facing ‘Silent Emergency’ as billions struggle
without clean water or basic sanitation as per reports if WHO and UNICEF. More than 2.6 Billion people –
Over 40% of the world’s population do not have access to safe drinking water. Water Scarcity in India is
widespread in all states[5][6].
NRW levels in the World
The World Bank has estimated the total cost of Non Revenue Water (NRW) to utilities worldwide at
US$14 billion per year. Reducing by half the current levels of losses in developing countries, where relative
losses are highest, could generate an estimated US$ 2.9 billion in cash and serve an additional 90 million people.
Most available data on NRW levels are expressed in percentage terms, ranging from 7% in Germany to more
than 90% in Lagos, Nigeria. NRW levels are 10% in Denmark, 19% in England and Wales,26% in France, 29%
in Italy. In Asian large city NRW varies from 10% to 60%. According to a report by the European Environment
Agency NRW in Yerevan, Armenia, was almost 80% [4].
NRW levels in India
From the study conducted by Seureca Consulting Engineers components of NRW are 1.5 to 3.5%
public use, 3.5 to 6.5% illegal / unmetered connection, 10 to 15% meter under registration and 75 to 85% is
leakages[3]. Table 1 shows Comparison of Water Utility Performance for some cities in India[1]
Measures to reduce NRW in Jaipur city
Public Health Engineering Department, Rajasthan has started pilot project in areas of Mansarovar of
Jaipur city in Nov 2010 for 24x7 water supply and take measures to enhance the water supply along with
reduction in NRW. Pilot project for converting intermittent water supply into 24X7 water supply of selected
areas was started with the help of Eco-Asia, Ranhill Malaysia, Maharastra Jeevan Pradhikaran and PHED
Rajasthan. The objective of pilot activity is to build confidence that water supply is feasible and realistic through
applied water loss management technique.
Details of Area selected under present studies are given in Table-2.

Pilot Activities Undertaken
In order to reduce NRW level in Jaipur following Pilot activities were taken.

o Saving in purchase of equipments and Operation and Mentainance Cost
o Tracing of water seepage in under ground tanks giving saving in water bills

DMA creation includes following
Ground verification of data and Pipeline interconnections.
Laying of pipelines for pilot areas from Service Resirvoir to prepare DMAs
Installation of Isolation Valves and DMA Valve at Service Reservoir
Inter-connection work of DMA Pipeline and installation of DMA Meter in each Zone.
Replacement of existing leaking main supply valves of Service Reservoirs in each Zone.
Installing equipments such as bulk meters, replacement of defective domestic meters, service line, valves,
pipelines etc.
Identification of leaking service pipelines.
Instrumentation Cabling for connectivity of DMA Meters and Pressure Censor with RTU
Installation of Data Loggers
Installation of Bulk Meters at Service Reservoirs for metering of remaining areas
Replacement of doubtful non functional meters on the basis of regular water reading
Commissioning of Pilot Area and examination of Isolated DMAs for ensuring prevention of loss of water
outside DMAs

III. Conclusions
Pilot area studies have given following outcomes.
24x7 water supply has increased service reliability among consumers.
Due to leakages removal loss of water (NRW) has reduced to great extent.
Water losses reduced from 63% to 30% in Mansarovar Sector 1 and 50% to 23% in Mansarovar Sector 9 areas,
Water saved from leakages is the extra water generated which can be utilized to enhance supplies to other areas.
Per capita consumption has reduced in pilot area due to prevention of leakage.
Greater satisfaction of consumer, with overall less supply of water to the pilot areas as compared to earlier
supplies.
Adequate water pressure, even sufficient to fill overhead water storage tanks of consumers. Hence energy saving
to lift the water to overhead storage.
Increased knowledge about the distribution system.
Reduced risk of contamination.
