Differences Of The Protestant Church And The Roman...
During the Reformation, Martin Luther found problems within the Roman Catholic Church and
decided that he no longer desired to follow their ways. As a follower of Christ, he instead turned to the
Bible to rediscover truths that the Church had twisted. Now, because of Luther s then radical ideology,
we have two different bodies of Christ: the Protestant Church and the Roman Catholic Church. Today,
there are many differences between them concerning fundamental beliefs and how the church should
operate.
One difference between Protestants and Catholics is where they get their teachings from. Protestants
focus only on the Bible. They believe that it is the only source of information about who God is and
what He has done. They only use the Bible for the foundations of their faith and for how to live out
your faith in your daily life. From the Hebrew Bible of twenty four books, Protestants made thirty nine
books with the exact same information. The Catholic Bible includes several more books that are
derived from another Hebrew canon called the Septuagint. During the Reformation, the Protestants
decided that these books shouldn t be in the Christian Bible because they aren t in the Hebrew Bible,
but the Catholic Church disagreed. Secondly, Protestants differ from Catholics because Christianity
splits into many denominations, whereas Catholics have no denominations. They are all one Church,
under the Pope, sharing the same beliefs in every Catholic church. Even though Protestants

The East Facade Of The Louvre
Perrault still relied a lot antiquity rule to do his reference, even if Perrault mentions that he created the
new taste of architectural element for French. He accepted that Vitruvius theory and order still an
important part of his theory. Perrault mentions that, I also contend that whatever innovations I
introduce are intended not so much to correct what is ancient as to return it to its original perfection. I
do this not on my own authority, following only my own insight, but always in reference to some
example taken from ancient works or from reputable writers. The East Facade of the Louvre is hard to
define its style because of Perrault s theory and Le vau s influence. A historian, Blunt, argues that the
facade shows the Baroque and Classical style at the same time. He wrote, The Colonnade has no exact
parallel in French architecture, but it is the first example in this art of the style of Louis XIV. In certain
respects it is Baroque: the scale of the Order, the depth given by the free standing colonnade, the
variety of rhythm due to the coupling of the columns. In other ways it is more strictly classical than
earlier French work: the clear and simple definition of the masses, the straight line of the front (in
contrast to the curves of most of the Italian designs and even Le Vau s first scheme), the severe and
almost unbroken entablatures, and the purity of detail in the Order and the mouldings.

Student Retention Is A Growing Problem
Many colleges and universities throughout the United States and several other countries face a
common problem. Student retention is a growing problem across the nation for all ethnic groups and
all ages. Each individual who chooses to drop out of school has their own personal reasons as to why
they do. However, many drops out can be completely avoided. When students drop out they are not
clearly thinking about how it s going to affect their future, the future of their children and even
grandchildren. Although there are several reasons as to why students drop out of school, we will be
exploring a few as it relates to why student retention is a growing problem.
Transitioning into higher education presents challenges for all students, whether it s their age or
previous educational history. Numerous individuals are extremely nervous as they are entering into an
advanced environment such as higher education. This because college is a new learning environment
at a completely different level. However, freshmen find college to be difficult at first because it s
harder for them to adjust. That s why many universities should have student centers in place to help
students. Student centers give students the pathway for flexible learning as it results in being
successful in higher education (Baužienė Vosyliūtė 2015).
Lin and Tsai (2008) used a quantitative approach to understanding student retention; however, they
used their research to understand students loyalty. As fast as

Margaret Sanger And Women s Rights
To the woman who wishes to have children, we must give these answers to the question when not to
have them. . This was an eloquent quote from Margaret Sanger that she delivered in her book, Women
and the New Race. Margaret was a very prominent feminist and she believed that women should be
educated by knowing they have the right to control what happens with their body. This person is
considered, by Time Magazine, to be one of the most influential individuals of the 20th century,
mostly due to her role sex education, birth control activism, and also for her writings pertaining to
those issues. This is why Margaret Sanger was such an important individual. She changed course for
women s rights by advocating the legalization of the use of contraceptives ... Show more content on

Her father s teachings and the things she experienced throughout her life would play a major role in
influencing Margaret Sanger. There were a few experiences that had an impact Margaret s views.
Working as a nurse in the Lower East Side of New York she had to deal with many cases where
pregnant women who were unfit to have a child asking for information to avoid having another
child(fordham). In addition, Sanger nursed women who were dangerously ill and at risk of death from
attempts to give themselves abortions because they didn t have $5 for the less dangerous alternative.
(plannedparenthood). This specific experience reassured her views on the need for contraceptives and
abortions. As a result, Margaret Sanger released several writings that would express her view on
contraceptives and abortion. Those writing would result in her violation of the Comstock Laws which
criminalized publication, distribution, and possession of information about or devices or medications
for unlawful abortion or contraception. (britannica.com). Rather than face the consequences of her
actions, she chose to flee the country and live in

Loss Of A Loved One Essay
If I were to conduct research on a Sociological Topic that is applicable to my own life, I would choose
to research how the experience of having loved ones pass away affects people overtime. For instance,
an certain individual I know very well has only experienced the death of one individual they were
close with in their entire lifetime. On the other hand, I have been affected by the passing of loved ones
since I can remember. Case in point, just over the past couple of years I have lost upwards of 8 people
I was very close with. Furthermore, I currently have three different people whom I am close with
battling terminal cancer. When I think of my own experience with death compared to that of the other
individual, I notice that I handle the grieving process in a more logical way opposed to thinking my
happiness and life as a whole ended when the loved ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In order to create a study to determine whether or not the way people grieve death changes after they
have been affected more than once by the loss of a loved one, I would start by creating a survey. On
this survey I would ask the gender of the individual taking the survey, the current age of the
individual, how old the individual was when they first experienced a loved one passing away, how
many people they ve lost in their lifetime that they were particularly close with, what their initial
reaction to the passing of their loved one was compared to their reaction after losing more than one
loved one, and how their reaction has changed as time passes since the loved one(s) passed away. I
may also include the question of what the relationship was between the individual taking the survey
and the individual who passed away. It would be my hope that this survey reached individuals from all
different backgrounds, ages, cultures, and so on to ensure a variety of people were surveyed to
eliminate any biases that may occur. Once I had the results from my

Lao-Tzu s Thoughts From The Tao-Te Ching
In the poem by Lao Tzu, Thoughts from the Tao te Ching, Lao Tzu describes what Tao means and how
it will make people s life better. Lao Tzu prefers less government to be involved with people. He
believes that this will have a good effect on how people will behave. He also says that when the leader
follows the Tao, everything else will go with the flow. A leader should trust people to govern
themselves by giving them individual freedom with limits, because a limited freedom does not mean
that people will not attain peace and happiness they have always wanted. A leader should not intervene
in people s lives, but he could assist people only when it is needed. In the poem, Lao Tzu illustrates
what a leader should be doing: The Master leads ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
People are still free to do whatever they want. They can also choose what they want to be. Limited
freedom will only prevent people from doing bad deeds, which will help them accomplish peace. In
the poem, Lao Tzu shows how important peace is to people: Peace is his highest value. If peace has
been shattered, how can he be content? (verse 31). Like Lao Tzu says, people use weapons as a tool of
fear and when their peace is being threatened, they will use it. In addition, Lao Tzu states what will
happen if the leader follows the Tao: If the country is governed wisely, its inhabitants will be
contented...Since they dearly love their homes, they aren t interested in travel. There may be a few
wagons and boats, but this doesn t go anywhere. There may be an arsenal weapons but nobody uses
them... (verse 80). When people and the leader follow the Tao, people will be contented with their
home country to the point that they would not try to go to another place. With the peace they have
gained, they will not try to leave their home. Moreover, following Tao is a wonderful way for people
to live, but the way freedom is described in the Tao should be altered. Freedom without limits will
only make the situation worse than it is now. It is just the same as Lao Tzu says in the poem that the
world can never be

Team Reflection

Team efficacy
Definition: Team efficacy is defined as the collective belief among team members of the team s
capability to successfully complete a task . Teams are more successful when their members work
together with a collective effort and confidence. High efficacy team means more motivation and
challenge goals set, with an increase of team performance. (McShane Von Glinow, 2015, p. 242).
Summary: In the article Effect of Cohesion on the Curvilinear Relationship Between Team Efficacy
and Performance written by Gully, Kim Park, (2017), the authors mention that in addition to the
research that has supported a linear positive relationship between team efficacy and team performance,

made due to overconfidence, and been less vigilant. What will be the reason for a team to become
overconfident? Maybe the reason can be found in the team members motivation and because they
believe in their superior capabilities?
Studies have demonstrated that high cohesion effect team efficacy, and that overconfidence might be
experienced because team members are engage in self enhancement such as a cohesive teams. While I
believe that team members should be confident in their duty and in decision making, check and
balance must be in place to prevent potential errors. Efficacy may represents a confidence that can be
an important resource that members can draw on in times of adversity . (Lvina Maher Harris et al,
2016).
Team members and efficacy are also affected by their organization. The rewards and accomplishments
are very high when the team members have available the necessary resources from their organization
that, will result an in increased in role and extra role performance (Du, 2015).

The Pros And Cons Of Social Contract
Social contract denotes that a government or sovereign body exists only to serve the will of the people
because the people are the source of political power that is enjoyed by the entity. The people can
choose to give or withdraw the power. Not all philosophers agree that the social contract creates rights
and obligations; on the contrary, some believe that the social contract imposes restrictions that restrict
a person s natural rights. Individuals who live within the society gain protection by the government
from others who may pursue to cause them injury, in exchange, the citizens, must relinquish
individual liberties like the capability to commit wrongdoings without being reprimanded, and they
should contribute to making society ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Hobbes believed that in nature people had to do whatever was necessary to survive and that even if
living together, people were still likely to fight. His view of people was dark and most likely due to
the horrors of a series of political schemes and armed conflicts he had seen during the English Civil
War. He believed that a contract was necessary. Hobbes felt that people were not capable of living in a
democratic society. Instead, a single dominant ruler was needed, and if everyone did their part, then
the community would function smoothly. Hobbes theory is unlike Locke and Rousseau s. He believed
that once the people gave power to the government, the people gave up the right to that power. It
would essentially be the cost of the safety the people were seeking.
John Locke argues that people deserve life, liberty, and property which are all an essential part of the
social contract. The government needs to guard individuals lives and safeguard the freedom of
prosperity and impose laws that are structured to reward efforts which improve society economically.
Locke s Contractual Theory of Government says that people must willingly do things like pay taxes
and serve in the military, but in return, the government had to listen to their desires and provide for
their needs. John Locke s philosophy is one that we are all familiar with because his ideas were used
in our Constitution by our founding fathers. According to the United States Senate, We the

A Day At Home On The Kitchen Table
INTRODUCTION
I. How many of you have had a day where literally everything goes wrong? So much for the saying
could this day get any worse? right? Because right when you don t think that anything worse could
happen somehow it does. For example, you re getting ready for that big presentation on the mooring
of and spill your coffee all over your outfit? Then how about driving to school and getting pulled over
or getting a flat tire? Just to then realize when you get to school that all your information for your
presentation is sitting at home on the kitchen table. It is now 10:30 am and you re stressed out of your
mind.

BODY
I. According to the website article, Acute vs. Chronic Stress, there are two different kinds of stress that
we will potentially face in our lifetime
A. Short term (Chronic) 1.Short term stress is the most common type that we face and are the little
everyday things. This is experienced when specific events or situations that involve novelty,
unpredictability, a threat to the ego, and leave us with a poor sense of control. (Acute vs. Chronic
Stress, 1) B. Long term (Acute) 1. This is much more dangerous and serious. Some acute stresses stem
from traumatic, early childhood experiences that become internalized and remain forever painful and
present. This type of stress can cause wear and tear on your mind and body. Many scientists think that
our stress response system was not designed to be constantly activated... (Acute vs. Chronic Stress,1)
So how can this affect us as college students?
II. In the words of Lyle Miller and Alma Smith, authors of The Different Kinds of Stress, say that
stress can lead to different problems in our bodies.
A. Emotional distress 1.resulting in a combination of anger or irritability, anxiety and depression.
(Miller and Smith, 1)
B. Muscular problems

On The Other Hand, Banks Also Face Some Negative Aspects
On the other hand, banks also face some negative aspects to online banking. One disadvantage is that
they lose the one on one interaction with their customers. If people no longer need to visit the bank to
conduct their transactions, the banks lose that special connection that they once had with their
customers and for some customers they value that personal connection. Additionally, from the banks
perspective, they do not get the opportunity to develop personal relations with their customers. The
more personable the banks are with their customers the more secure their customers accounts may be.

detect any abnormal account transactions ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Conversely, customers also have negative views about online banking. One being the lack of personal
relationships that are formed when carrying out all their transactions at the bank. People often find it
easier to talk to another person about a problem they are having instead of trying to search online for
the answer. Having a relationship with a professional at your bank that understands your personal
needs often makes the customer feel special and help ease any worries that they may have when faced
with any type of banking questions. Additionally, certain services such as notarization and bank
signature guarantees are not available online. As previously mentioned, security is a major concern
with online banking. Many customers are nervous about allowing a bank to have access and records of
their sensitive and important financial information. Hacking and identity theft is a fairly common
occurrence so for customers to be wary about turning over all their financial information to the
internet is justifiable (Geoffrey). As technology becomes more and more advanced, the demand for
new innovative technology grows as well. As a nation, we have been moving increasingly towards a
more digital world and that is also true for our banking industry. The physical action of walking into a
bank to execute our banking needs is becoming less common and online banking is taking its place.
ATMs are also a version of online banking that has been a

The United States and Europe are two different worlds, each with distinctive cultures that make them

TMA01
What can Historians learn from this document about how as married man saw his role as head of the
family in mid 17th century?
The nature of this document is taken from the notebooks of Nehemiah Wallington (1818 1654). An
extract of the passages of my life (Booy, D. (end) 2007), written in 1662. The extract is one of over
fifty journals written over a twenty years period, of which seven originals remain. The purpose of this
document is described in Grell (2016 p.81) as a means of private and later public record relating of
Wallington s reflections of his religious struggle for salvation as a sinner that believes he belongs to
the Elect , those predestined for salvation. This autobiographical work provided historians with
primary source of evidence of the thoughts and beliefs of a Puritan married man, and his religious
responsibilities and relationship with his household.
To contextualize the text, Wallington s religious beliefs were taken from Protestant Lutheran and
Calvinistic influences that evolved in England as the Puritan movement, which was a non conformist
religious sects that had moved away from the Church of England Anglican practices and rituals in
search a purer, form of Protestantism. (Marshall, P. 2014 p.141). Lutheranism had idealized marriage
and the idea of holy families and Luther stated in The estate of marriage Brandt (1963) that woman is
a necessary evil, and that no household can be without such an evil . Wallington

The Effects And Effects Of British Imperialism In India
For approximately 200 years, Great Britain had ruled over the Indian subcontinent. After Robert Clive
s forces won the Battle of Plassey, the East India Company had gained some power in 1757 (Ray).
Before the period of British rule known as the Raj, India s economy had been stable for some
centuries. The Company had soon taken advantage of the strong framework in place, monopolizing
industry and taking political control as well. India s already large and growing population provided
cheap labor for a subsistence economy installed within the nation that did not encourage industrial
development. Because everything could be imported so cheaply from India without duty, India s
existing industries had no protection from British competition ... Show more content on

The poverty that has infected the region is quite reminiscent of 40 famines under British rule, leading
to the deaths of 59 million Indians (RT International).
Further evidence shows that more British involvement over the course of two centuries made nearly
all aspects of Indian society weaker overall. Areas that experienced direct British rule have
significantly lower levels of access to education, roads, and healthcare in the postcolonial period,
thereby demonstrating that the quality of governance during Britain s imperial rule in India had a
significant effect on the country after becoming an independent nation in 1947 (Fisher). Regarding
industry, the absence of Britain ever imperializing within India would affect all facets of society
within the subcontinent. It is widely known that the construction of railroads in British controlled
India occurred rapidly. Introduced by Britain in 1871, railroads were strategically placed to solely
allow for British economic prosperity within the region. However, without Great Britain involved,
railroads would be introduced later in the 20th century, the point in time at which railroads were a
main source of transportation throughout the world

Euthanasi The Complex Role Of The Physician With Physician...
The theoretical aim of this thesis is to introduce euthanasia, the complex role of the physician with
physician assisted suicide (PAS) under the argument that it is not an issue of passive or active. Nor
right or wrong. Euthanasia is defined as the act or practice of killing or allowing someone to die on
grounds of mercy (Morally Disputed Issues: A Reader, 341). In its complexion euthanasia is not
merely a dead or alive decision as it truly is at its core goal. There is passive euthanasia which is
defined as withholding treatment such as a ventilator or fluids. There is active euthanasia which is
prescribing or initiating a substance that would allow a person to stop living. We also have to consider

Rhetorical Analysis Of While We Sleep
Since the beginning of time, those not classified as men have faced many struggles. This wide group
ranges anywhere from children to women. The working boom in America is one of many factors that
is accountable for the limitations these groups face. These powerless groups did not have enough
voice, originally, to demand equal treatment under the law and society. Therefore, many reform groups
arose during American history to encourage society to call to action the freedom we all enjoy and
protect today. In her speech given before the National American Women Suffrage Association in
Philadelphia, Florence Kelly utilizes anaphora, rhetorical questions, an empathetic yet sarcastic tone,
and selection of detail to emphasize unfairness in working conditions for children and to encourage
her audience to take feminist action. Kelly effectively uses anaphora throughout her speech with the
purpose of getting her audience to bring about change. The repetition of the phrase While we sleep
stresses the unethical conditions these voiceless children had to face. Every time this phrase is stated,
it builds up her impact and works the audience towards her advantage. Kelly appeals to her audience s
empathetic emotions and moral values by utilizing the importance of sleep. Her listeners understand
the vitality of sleep, thus stressing that these children lack this, brings her a huge step forward. She
forces her audience to face the sad reality that they peacefully sleep, as young children

In George Orwell s Essay Such, Such Were The Joys
Throughout George Orwell s essay, Such, Such were the Joys, the poor class in society is represented
as incompetent and undeserving of joy and success. Instead they earn and deserve beatings physically
and mentally. The poor class is represented this way to show how money appears to buy success and
happiness through Orwell s implying the Joys and privileges that the elite class have. The essay begins
discussing Orwell as a young boy arriving at a school by the name of St. Cyprian s. Right at the
beginning of this essay and Orwell s school experience, he wets the bed making a small mistake that
likely all children have made before. The headmaster doesn t just swiftly forget about it, instead he
harshly presages young Orwell of the beating ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The underlying cause of this treatment is essentially because money pays for life s comforts. Above all
the poor class shouldn t have to be beaten or looked down upon even if they don t have the money to
pay for life necessities, like an education specifically in Orwell s case. Even though money and the
lack of it were the main themes in Orwell s essay joy is something else that is important to consider
especially because that s what Orwell called this essay. Orwell explained how everything was working
against him because he had no wealth. He never mentioned the greater joy that the elite class had and
he kept it surreptitious. This is because joy can reside among any social class. Orwell called this essay,
Such, Such Were the Joy s because... (FIX THIS!!!)
Since the beginning of time the poorer class has been represented and treated a certain way because of
the belief of the importance of money. This is due to the permanent belief that they haven t done
anything for society so society does not need to do anything for them except of course make their life
miserable. Even though Orwell represented the poor as undeserving of anything with no abilities to
accomplish anything he wrote this essay to show that with lots of hard work it can be possible and he
wanted to show the breaking of these barriers throughout his

Hester Prynne Religion
There is a Puritan society in the Scarlett letter which incorporates their organized religion into the
political system. Nathaniel Hawthorne wrote The Scarlet Letter and inside of the text he implies a
criticism and dislike of organized religion. The text itself critiques the style of organized religion by
describing the people as a group of people with sad coloured garments and grey steeple crowned hats
(Hawthorne 142). Hawthorne pictures the people of the town, as a simple and dark people. The
heathen of the story who divided the code of the town, Hester Prynne, is described as beautiful from
regularity of feature and richness of complexion (Hawthorne 159). He illustrates how he believes the
actions of Hester Prynne might ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Hester Prynne is forced to adhere to the regulations in order to keep her child whom she loves so
much. She says that she will instruct pearl about sin and what to believe. Hester is a prime example of
someone who wishes to resist the oppression, but is forced by social standards and even economical
ones to abide by them. She is paid by the people who believe strongly from organized religion, so if
she resists the entirety of the oppression from the organized group then she would be out of money, a
town to socialize and live in, and her child which is her happiness she is my torture (Hawthorne 325).
Furthermore, Hester is her torment as well as happiness because if not for her becoming pregnant, she
would be in a normal house with her family and friends, on the other hand Pearl is her happiness
because it is still her child and she loves her. Then, Hester, being brought up in this society herself,
appeals to the emotion of the minister to try and persuade them to let her keep Pearl. She says that
God gave her into my keeping and that She should have complete care of her (Hawthorne 325).
Furthermore, the organized religious group in The Scarlett Letter is oppressive because they form their
own through and ways of life upon all people of the town, as well as any visitors to the area. The
people are stopped from resisting this by formulating the idea that there is no way for someone to
resist it and

Rhetorical Analysis Of Challenger Disaster By Ronald Reagan
Rhetorical Analysis On January 28th, 1986, Ronald Reagan, president of the United States, in his
speech entitled Challenger Disaster, discusses the space shuttle tragedy. He supports this claim by first
mourning the accident, then promoting NASA, tries to make sense of the disaster, and finally honors
the astronauts. Through Reagan s use of tone, rhetorical appeals, and rhetorical tools he effectively
persuades Americans to mourn the loss, but also continue to move forward and support advancement.
Reagan brings the nation together with his supportive and sympathetic tone to mourn and honor the
astronauts and America s space program. The President first displays support through his tone by
promoting NASA.
We ll continue our quest into space. There will be more shuttle flights and more shuttle crews and,
yes, more volunteers, more civilians, more teachers in space. Nothing ends here; our hopes and our
journeys continue (6).
By saying this, Reagan tells the American public that there will be more explorations in space, and

voyages have gone wrong as well. Great explorers have also died when learning more about the
world. These astronauts will also be remembered like these explorers were, and they will be honored
and known as great pioneers. Ronald Reagan includes the use of pronouns to include the audience in
his speech. For example, Reagan says, We ve never had a tragedy like this (2). When he says the word
we, it pulls them into the speech to feel more personal and connected. He refers to the country as a
whole. He wraps up the speech with sentences that can bring peace to the audience that he pulled in

Go Ask Alice By An Anonymous Teenage Girl
The novel Go Ask Alice, written by an anonymous teenage girl, consists of her thoughts, musings, and
feelings throughout her ever worsening battle with drugs. Before the life altering party that introduced
her to this life of addiction, Alice was a typical teenage girl who faced the fears and unknown of
moving to a new town and school, feelings of nonacceptance from her friends and peers, body issues,
and pressure from her parents. The argument can be made that one of the many roots of Alice s
worsening habit is mainly her relationship with her mother and father; however, once Alice has left
her family in search of her next high and life on her own, she began to long for them once again.
Although she ran away from her life and family twice, each time Alice was accepted home with
loving, caring arms. So while her parents may have played a role in her delving into the life of drugs
to escape her woes, they could also be considered one of her potentially saving graces toward the end
of the novel. However, no matter the amount of effort Alice or her family put forth into her recovery,
the drugs ultimately won the battle for Alice s life. At the beginning of the novel, before Alice
attended the fateful party that changed her world forever, she did not fully see her parents affection
toward her; she was caught up in her teenage world of guys and heartbreak, leading her to misinterpret
how her parents only had her best interests in mind. For example, on September 17 she

Differences Between Idealism and Realism
Philosophers say the key to understanding human life is answering the really philosophical questions
such as why are we here? Where did we come from? Where will we go? And so on and so forth. This
has truly been a debate for the ages in philosophy, one that has stimulated thinkers, philosophers,
theologists and scientists for thousands of years, hence led emergence of idealism and realism as two
major traditional philosophical schools of thought in the realm of philosophy. So this paper projects
the meaning of idealism and meaning of realism then discusses in detail the basic assumptions of
idealism and those of realism and how these two traditional schools of thought differ and their
implications within the educational setting.

We achieve greater and greater knowledge through proper study of the world. In Realism, a person is
an empty vessel for knowledge which can only come from outside of the self, through observation.
Aristotle is an exponent of realism. He asserts that matter has an objective reality and that matter is the
underlying principle of all things.
Philosophers like Herbert Spencer and John Locke postulated that matter is the ultimate reality. They
say that things we experience with our senses such as hills, trees, animals, sand, water and man are
simply not ideas in the mind of the observing individuals or even in the mind of an external observer.
Rather they exist in themselves independent of the mind. Realism categorized in Religious realism,
Aristotle Realism and Scientific realism Religious realism represented by Thomas Aquinas asserts that
mind and matter form the composite. Man is a composite of body and soul. The spirit is more
important and higher than the body. He argues that this is proved through revelation and reasoning.
Seetharamu (1989) argues that Aristotle Realism was proposed by Aristotle who was Plato s student
where by Aristotle believed that the world could be understood at a fundamental level through the
detailed observation and cataloguing of phenomenon. That is knowledge, which is what the word

The Social Responsibility Of The Workplace
Introduction
Archie Carroll defines corporate social responsibility (CSR) as the social responsibility of business
encompassing the economic, legal, ethical, and discretionary expectations that society has of these
organizations at a given point in time. (Crane, 5) Interesting enough, there has been an abrupt growth
of firm s engagement in CSR within all industries. This is the result of growing requests from the civil
society demanding firms, of all sizes, to legitimize their practices. (Crane, 4)
More importantly, workplace issues have become an integral part of corporate social responsibility.
This includes a firm s lacking efforts in its occupational health and safety, and its fair pay and
conditions, amongst others. (Crane, 253) As employees reside in the midst of companies engaging in
corporate social responsibility, the reputation of the firm relies profoundly on ensuring all those within
the in house workplaces as well as the outsourced workplaces are treated justly and within the
operating country s legislation. (Crane, 253) Further to this, social injustice that occurs can negatively
affect the firm s reputation and brand favorability. (Crane, 254) Therefore, it was within the firm s best
interests to fulfill their core corporate responsibilities in the workplace. Albeit corporations may have
the intention to act within labour standards, circumstances do arise where the rights of employees are
neglected and the morality of the firm is questioned.

The Concept Of Revenge In Hamlet
While seeking revenge, dig two graves one for yourself , as is what happens to those who take
revenge, buried in their own unforgiveness. Francis Bacon s idea of revenge attempts to bypass this
problem of unforgiveness, with the forgiveness of the perpetrator. But not all revenge can be simply
forgiven, which is the case in Hamlet; Francis Bacon also knows about this problem, but describes it
in his own words with The most tolerable sort of revenge is for those wrongs which there is no law to
remedy; but then let a man take heed the revenge be such as there is no law to punish (Francis Bacon
15). Sir Francis Bacon s idea of revenge relates to Hamlet in how revenge is handled, the
repercussions of acting in revenge, and its ability to change a person s thought process.
It can be easily said that no one can handle the feeling of revenge perfectly, as is the case for Hamlet
specifically. Early in the play Hamlet it is said that Hamlet had lost his father to a poisonous snake
whilst he was in the gardens, but it is later revealed in act one by his father s ghost of his true death.
Now, Hamlet, hear. Tis given out that, sleeping in my orchard, A serpent stung me. So the whole ear of
Denmark Is by a forgèd process of my death Rankly abused. But know, thou noble youth, The serpent
that did sting thy father s life Now wears his crown (I.V.34 40). Hamlet s father tells Hamlet the truth
of his death by his brother s hand, giving Hamlet a soul to avenge. Francis Bacon s

  • 2. Differences Of The Protestant Church And The Roman... During the Reformation, Martin Luther found problems within the Roman Catholic Church and decided that he no longer desired to follow their ways. As a follower of Christ, he instead turned to the Bible to rediscover truths that the Church had twisted. Now, because of Luther s then radical ideology, we have two different bodies of Christ: the Protestant Church and the Roman Catholic Church. Today, there are many differences between them concerning fundamental beliefs and how the church should operate. One difference between Protestants and Catholics is where they get their teachings from. Protestants focus only on the Bible. They believe that it is the only source of information about who God is and what He has done. They only use the Bible for the foundations of their faith and for how to live out your faith in your daily life. From the Hebrew Bible of twenty four books, Protestants made thirty nine books with the exact same information. The Catholic Bible includes several more books that are derived from another Hebrew canon called the Septuagint. During the Reformation, the Protestants decided that these books shouldn t be in the Christian Bible because they aren t in the Hebrew Bible, but the Catholic Church disagreed. Secondly, Protestants differ from Catholics because Christianity splits into many denominations, whereas Catholics have no denominations. They are all one Church, under the Pope, sharing the same beliefs in every Catholic church. Even though Protestants ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. The East Facade Of The Louvre Perrault still relied a lot antiquity rule to do his reference, even if Perrault mentions that he created the new taste of architectural element for French. He accepted that Vitruvius theory and order still an important part of his theory. Perrault mentions that, I also contend that whatever innovations I introduce are intended not so much to correct what is ancient as to return it to its original perfection. I do this not on my own authority, following only my own insight, but always in reference to some example taken from ancient works or from reputable writers. The East Facade of the Louvre is hard to define its style because of Perrault s theory and Le vau s influence. A historian, Blunt, argues that the facade shows the Baroque and Classical style at the same time. He wrote, The Colonnade has no exact parallel in French architecture, but it is the first example in this art of the style of Louis XIV. In certain respects it is Baroque: the scale of the Order, the depth given by the free standing colonnade, the variety of rhythm due to the coupling of the columns. In other ways it is more strictly classical than earlier French work: the clear and simple definition of the masses, the straight line of the front (in contrast to the curves of most of the Italian designs and even Le Vau s first scheme), the severe and almost unbroken entablatures, and the purity of detail in the Order and the mouldings. • 4. Student Retention Is A Growing Problem Many colleges and universities throughout the United States and several other countries face a common problem. Student retention is a growing problem across the nation for all ethnic groups and all ages. Each individual who chooses to drop out of school has their own personal reasons as to why they do. However, many drops out can be completely avoided. When students drop out they are not clearly thinking about how it s going to affect their future, the future of their children and even grandchildren. Although there are several reasons as to why students drop out of school, we will be exploring a few as it relates to why student retention is a growing problem. Transitioning into higher education presents challenges for all students, whether it s their age or previous educational history. Numerous individuals are extremely nervous as they are entering into an advanced environment such as higher education. This because college is a new learning environment at a completely different level. However, freshmen find college to be difficult at first because it s harder for them to adjust. That s why many universities should have student centers in place to help students. Student centers give students the pathway for flexible learning as it results in being successful in higher education (Baužienė Vosyliūtė 2015). Lin and Tsai (2008) used a quantitative approach to understanding student retention; however, they used their research to understand students loyalty. As fast as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Margaret Sanger And Women s Rights To the woman who wishes to have children, we must give these answers to the question when not to have them. . This was an eloquent quote from Margaret Sanger that she delivered in her book, Women and the New Race. Margaret was a very prominent feminist and she believed that women should be educated by knowing they have the right to control what happens with their body. This person is considered, by Time Magazine, to be one of the most influential individuals of the 20th century, mostly due to her role sex education, birth control activism, and also for her writings pertaining to those issues. This is why Margaret Sanger was such an important individual. She changed course for women s rights by advocating the legalization of the use of contraceptives ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Her father s teachings and the things she experienced throughout her life would play a major role in influencing Margaret Sanger. There were a few experiences that had an impact Margaret s views. Working as a nurse in the Lower East Side of New York she had to deal with many cases where pregnant women who were unfit to have a child asking for information to avoid having another child(fordham). In addition, Sanger nursed women who were dangerously ill and at risk of death from attempts to give themselves abortions because they didn t have $5 for the less dangerous alternative. (plannedparenthood). This specific experience reassured her views on the need for contraceptives and abortions. As a result, Margaret Sanger released several writings that would express her view on contraceptives and abortion. • 6. Loss Of A Loved One Essay If I were to conduct research on a Sociological Topic that is applicable to my own life, I would choose to research how the experience of having loved ones pass away affects people overtime. For instance, an certain individual I know very well has only experienced the death of one individual they were close with in their entire lifetime. On the other hand, I have been affected by the passing of loved ones since I can remember. Case in point, just over the past couple of years I have lost upwards of 8 people I was very close with. Furthermore, I currently have three different people whom I am close with battling terminal cancer. When I think of my own experience with death compared to that of the other individual, I notice that I handle the grieving process in a more logical way opposed to thinking my happiness and life as a whole ended when the loved ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In order to create a study to determine whether or not the way people grieve death changes after they have been affected more than once by the loss of a loved one, I would start by creating a survey. On this survey I would ask the gender of the individual taking the survey, the current age of the individual, how old the individual was when they first experienced a loved one passing away, how many people they ve lost in their lifetime that they were particularly close with, what their initial reaction to the passing of their loved one was compared to their reaction after losing more than one loved one, and how their reaction has changed as time passes since the loved one(s) passed away. I may also include the question of what the relationship was between the individual taking the survey and the individual who passed away. It would be my hope that this survey reached individuals from all different backgrounds, ages, cultures, and so on to ensure a variety of people were surveyed to eliminate any biases that may occur. • 7. Lao-Tzu s Thoughts From The Tao-Te Ching In the poem by Lao Tzu, Thoughts from the Tao te Ching, Lao Tzu describes what Tao means and how it will make people s life better. Lao Tzu prefers less government to be involved with people. He believes that this will have a good effect on how people will behave. He also says that when the leader follows the Tao, everything else will go with the flow. A leader should trust people to govern themselves by giving them individual freedom with limits, because a limited freedom does not mean that people will not attain peace and happiness they have always wanted. A leader should not intervene in people s lives, but he could assist people only when it is needed. In the poem, Lao Tzu illustrates what a leader should be doing: The Master leads ... Limited freedom will only prevent people from doing bad deeds, which will help them accomplish peace. In the poem, Lao Tzu shows how important peace is to people: Peace is his highest value. If peace has been shattered, how can he be content? (verse 31). Like Lao Tzu says, people use weapons as a tool of fear and when their peace is being threatened, they will use it. In addition, Lao Tzu states what will happen if the leader follows the Tao: If the country is governed wisely, its inhabitants will be contented...Since they dearly love their homes, they aren t interested in travel. There may be a few wagons and boats, but this doesn t go anywhere. There may be an arsenal weapons but nobody uses them... (verse 80). When people and the leader follow the Tao, people will be contented with their home country to the point that they would not try to go to another place. With the peace they have gained, they will not try to leave their home. Moreover, following Tao is a wonderful way for people to live, but the way freedom is described in the Tao should be altered. Freedom without limits will only make the situation worse than it is now. It is just the same as Lao Tzu says in the poem that the world can never be ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Teams are more successful when their members work together with a collective effort and confidence. High efficacy team means more motivation and challenge goals set, with an increase of team performance. (McShane Von Glinow, 2015, p. 242). His view of people was dark and most likely due to the horrors of a series of political schemes and armed conflicts he had seen during the English Civil War. He believed that a contract was necessary. Hobbes felt that people were not capable of living in a democratic society. Instead, a single dominant ruler was needed, and if everyone did their part, then the community would function smoothly. Hobbes theory is unlike Locke and Rousseau s. He believed that once the people gave power to the government, the people gave up the right to that power. It would essentially be the cost of the safety the people were seeking. John Locke argues that people deserve life, liberty, and property which are all an essential part of the social contract. The government needs to guard individuals lives and safeguard the freedom of prosperity and impose laws that are structured to reward efforts which improve society economically. Locke s Contractual Theory of Government says that people must willingly do things like pay taxes and serve in the military, but in return, the government had to listen to their desires and provide for their needs. A223 TMA01 What can Historians learn from this document about how as married man saw his role as head of the family in mid 17th century? The nature of this document is taken from the notebooks of Nehemiah Wallington (1818 1654). An extract of the passages of my life (Booy, D. (end) 2007), written in 1662. The extract is one of over fifty journals written over a twenty years period, of which seven originals remain. The purpose of this document is described in Grell (2016 p.81) as a means of private and later public record relating of Wallington s reflections of his religious struggle for salvation as a sinner that believes he belongs to the Elect , those predestined for salvation. This autobiographical work provided historians with primary source of evidence of the thoughts and beliefs of a Puritan married man, and his religious responsibilities and relationship with his household. To contextualize the text, Wallington s religious beliefs were taken from Protestant Lutheran and Calvinistic influences that evolved in England as the Puritan movement, which was a non conformist religious sects that had moved away from the Church of England Anglican practices and rituals in search a purer, form of Protestantism. (Marshall, P. 2014 p.141). After Robert Clive s forces won the Battle of Plassey, the East India Company had gained some power in 1757 (Ray). Before the period of British rule known as the Raj, India s economy had been stable for some centuries. The Company had soon taken advantage of the strong framework in place, monopolizing industry and taking political control as well. The working boom in America is one of many factors that is accountable for the limitations these groups face. Therefore, many reform groups arose during American history to encourage society to call to action the freedom we all enjoy and protect today. Kelly effectively uses anaphora throughout her speech with the purpose of getting her audience to bring about change. The repetition of the phrase While we sleep stresses the unethical conditions these voiceless children had to face. Before the life altering party that introduced her to this life of addiction, Alice was a typical teenage girl who faced the fears and unknown of moving to a new town and school, feelings of nonacceptance from her friends and peers, body issues, and pressure from her parents. The argument can be made that one of the many roots of Alice s worsening habit is mainly her relationship with her mother and father; however, once Alice has left her family in search of her next high and life on her own, she began to long for them once again. The Social Responsibility Of The Workplace Introduction Archie Carroll defines corporate social responsibility (CSR) as the social responsibility of business encompassing the economic, legal, ethical, and discretionary expectations that society has of these organizations at a given point in time. (Crane, 5) Interesting enough, there has been an abrupt growth of firm s engagement in CSR within all industries. This is the result of growing requests from the civil society demanding firms, of all sizes, to legitimize their practices. (Crane, 4) More importantly, workplace issues have become an integral part of corporate social responsibility. This includes a firm s lacking efforts in its occupational health and safety, and its fair pay and conditions, amongst others. But know, thou noble youth, The serpent that did sting thy father s life Now wears his crown (I.V.34 40). Hamlet s father tells Hamlet the truth of his death by his brother s hand, giving Hamlet a soul to avenge. Francis Bacon s ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
