Eusebius History Of The Church Summary
Eusebius explains that he feels he must add a tenth book to his History of the Church, dedicating
them to one Paulinus, so as to chow god s gret deliverance he has bestwoed on the Christians.
Furthermore with the addition of this sectio the work becomes a perfect number (10:1). The
churches which had only shortly previously endured the intense persecution of the empure now
enjoyed the great favor of this same empire (10:2). Eusebius provides a translation of the decree
by Constantinus and Licentius granting religious freedom. In this decree they reason that
whatever spirtual forces exist, they would be well served if they were on their own side. They
will therefore allow people of any faith to freely worship in the hopes that one of these sects will
grant divine blessing to the empire. Furthermore any places which had been taken from the
Christians are to be immiediatly restored, those resotring them being compensated... Show more

Similarly in a letter to Anulinus he dictates that clergymen are not to be forced to perform publuc
services. This is because he sees the welfare of the realm as being connected to their ability to serve
God, and so would not hinder this (10:7). However, Licinius was not as pleased with this situation
as he ought to have been. Eusebius writes that Licinius, consumed with envy for Constantine, began
to plot against him. However, all of his plots were foiled by the divine protection Constantine
enjoyed. As such, he next turned to violence and began to persecute the Christians in his realm
(10:8). Eusebius records that Constantine, seeing this, had no choice but to go to war with Licinius.
Constantine, enjoying the favor of God as he did, was easily victorious. Thus Constantine united
the empire, and brought peace and joy to all his subjects

Informative Essay On Margaret Sanger
Margaret Sanger, a militant determined to push her cause and see her dreams fulfilled. I admire
her for her will and determination to pass what she believed was right; fighting the people keeping
her down. She believed in birth control and the idea women control their own bodies. Her target
groups might have been considered racist , but she pushed to help women. I believe in birth control
and cutting out unwanted pregnancies. Women deserve to choose if they want to be a mother or
not. Birth control is right to use if you have been raped, not mentally capable of being a mother
and not have the control to be a mother. Every child born should be wanted and not just here; no
child deserves to be abused or mistreated.
Margaret Sanger was an early feminist and women s rights activist who coined the term birth
control and worked towards its legalization (bibliography, 2014). Ms. Sanger was born to Anne
Higgins on September 14, 1879, in Corning, New York. Sanger was one of eleven children that

diagrams and brought them back with her to America. Margaret returned to America in October
1915 after the charges have been executed. She divorced Mr. Sanger.
In 1916 Sanger opened the first birth control clinic. She was arrested for opening this clinic. This
did not keep her down. She founded the American Birth Control League in 1921. Sanger spent a
great amount of her life campaigning for birth control. In 1923 She opened the first birth control
clinic Birth Control Clinical Research Bureau. Around 1923 she married her second husband J.

The Abuse of Alcohol by College Students
Alcohol and the abuse of it by college students is a big problem that many college towns such as
Iowa City, Iowa, are facing. With increasingly more students drinking alcohol, what was once just a
casual drink can quickly turn into binge drinking. This behavior has many consequences for not
only the student, but also the public. By being resilient and working together as a community, we
all could make it easier to combat this problem of binge drinking in college students in IowaCity
and the troubles that arise from it. Binge drinking is defined as the consumption of alcoholthat
raises a person s blood alcohol concentration in a short amount of time. This usually means five
or more drinks for men and four or more drinks for women within a two hour time span.
Although most college students are not able to drink alcohol legally until their junior year,
studies have shown that about four out of five college students drink alcohol before the legal
age of twenty one. Of these college students who drink, about half of them engage in binge
drinking. Binge drinking increases the risk of alcohol poisoning, a condition that could result in
death. This level of drinking has also been shown to increase the risk of committing suicide and
/or being a victim of sexual assault. Between 1.2 and 1.5 percent of college students say they have
tried commit suicide and more than 97,000 college students are sexually abused as a result of
alcohol or drug use. (Warren) Binge drinking also affects

The Types Of General Data
Qualitative and Quantitative are the two types of general data. Quantitative is data the deals with
quantities, information that can be measured and put down as numbers on paper. An example
quantitative data can be someone s height, shoe size, and length of hair. Qualitative data is
information that can t be measured but still existed in a sense that we can understand. When taking
the two of these and put them into the format of research they both have different aims in trying to
collect their own types of information that can be analyzed.
Qualitative research s main aim is to provide a complete and detailed description of the topic that is
been researched. This method is often used as accompany to quantitative research to generate ...

Once you have collected qualitative data you must then analysis the data and there are things that
must be considered. Analyzing the research involves having a aim that you want to uncover, using
that uncovered data to explain a phenomenon. Also with qualitative research you can use almost all
of the data that you may collect, any responses that you have put together from unstructured
qualitative methods. Another aspect that needs to be considered about qualitative research is that
it doesn t have a existing set system to identify and label the data. So a research need to use create
their own methods using content analysis. Content analysis is a system for labeling verbal or
behavioral data so that the data can be put into classification, summarization and tabulation classes.
This allows the research to analysis the data according to it s specifically class and allow them to
know how to approach the data.
An example of how qualitative research data is analyzed can be show with these research examples;
Observation Qualitative research can be collected with something as simple as observation. The
research is able to observe the matter they wish to research without creating any kind of set
conditions. The good point

Stigma Of Psychological Disorders
Each one of these disorders has a stigma that follows it. The only way to combat that stigma is
to educate society on psychological disorders. These disorders get over looked by some people
and are thought of as less serious than physical disorders, and sometimes people think they are
made up. Depression and schizophrenia are just as serious and life threatening as diabetes or liver
disease. The symptoms of mental disorders just go unseen, so others think they don t exist.
Prejudice and discrimination comes from these stigmas (King, p. 470, 2013), and that can
negatively affect these people more than imaginable. Their disorders may also go untreated
because people believe their disorders are made up. Stigma can significantly affect feelings

Arguments Against The Mexican War
Boom! The sound of a cannon in the far off distance goes off, now there is fear that rises up into
the air. When going into this war, many soldiers believed in something called Manifest Destiny.
Manifest Destiny was God s plan that America would extend its territory all the way to the Pacific
Ocean. This bloody war was much like the war that commenced at the Alamo. The Alamo set into
motion actions concluding with the Texans winning their independence from Mexico. The United
Stateswas justified in going to war with Mexico because Mexico attacked American soldiers first,

The battle of San Jacinto lead to Texas s independence in 1836.(Roden 271) Texas had just won
their freedom, now they wanted to choose to be part of the US union. According to this
information, The invasion was threatened solely because Texas had determined to annex
herself to our union , (Polk 325) Texas had their independence and wanted to join the US.
Mexico was unwilling to allow Texas to leave. As time went on the US finally made a decision
to annex Texas the union. Texas is now ours! (O Sullivan 323) Many people were happy and
rejoiced that the US now had Texas. This struggle is displayed in one of Roden s maps, when the
Mexicans crossed our borders. In the map that Roden had, it showed the US going to the Rio
Grande and then Mexico coming over to the Rio Grande too, which was within American
borders.(Roden 315) When the Mexicans crossed America s borders, they didn t think they did,
because both America and Mexico had different ideas of where the border was. Mexico believed
it to be on the Nueces River, and America believed it to be on the Rio Grande. This could have
been a reason of to why America and Mexico got into the big argument. This evidence shows that
the US was justified in going to war because Mexico killed U.S. soldiers on American soil, and
Texas itself had chosen to join with the U.S. All this information gives much

The Spread of Jazz and the Effects on Society
Black Face, Blue Notes and Whiteman The early growth and rapid expansion of popular American
music in late nineteenth and early twentieth century America had widespread and irreversible
effects on not only the growing black population, but also on America as a whole. The growth and
evolution of music in this period, though fraught with racismand obstacles for the black performer,
prepared the nation for the cultural revolution that allowed for the improvement of race relations
and, ultimately, the gradual acceptance of a multi racial national identity. Certainly this change did
not come about easily, overt racism dominated the minstrel show even as it provided employment

Again, though faced with a variety of obstacles and racists views, Tin Pan Alley afforded an
opportunity for some black artists and served to spread the cultural developments of black
performers, especially in the popularity of ragtime, allowing for future expansion and
development in the years to come. As black artists merged the rhythms and feelings of West
African music with the emotions of blues and ideas of ragtime and new type of music began to
emerge from the South. With an eclectic mix of races, class and urban and rural environments,
New Orleans came to be the center of early jazz development. The eventual explosion of jazz in
the 1920s was foreshadowed by the quick rise to popularity jazz experienced in the city. Jazz
music provided black artists with a possibility of relatively steady employment and eventually
facilitated the dispersion of black culture throughout America. As jazz rose to popularity there
was certainly a great deal of resistance on both musical and racial levels. Fearing perversions of
moral and musical ideals, many whites resisted jazz initially. Once jazz experienced an increase in
popularity revisionist histories appeared, removing black contribution or playing up white roles in
the development of jazz. Segregation still appeared frequently as black bands could not get jobs

Factors Contributing To An Individual Being Vulnerable To...
There are a vast amount of factors that can contribute to an individual being more vulnerable to
abuse, these include:
An individual may be less aware of their rights this can leave them more vulnerable to abuse
because they may not know that they are entitled something so they are unaware that they are being
abused, for example, a person may not be aware they have the right to have their choices taken into
consideration and be protected, this could lead to them agreeing to treatment they are not
comfortable with because they do not know they can ask for the treatment to be carried out a
different way.
An individual may need care with daily living due to illness or disability this can lead to them

Application Of New Learnings
Phase 3: Application of New Learnings. In Six Ways to Build Trust in Negotiations, Molhotra
preaches the significance of one s reputation. When I had first negotiated with Sam during the
Toronto Condo Activity , my friend Arfeen had told him about how I m a nice person to
negotiate with. I did not think much of that comment then, but when I found out that I would be
negotiating with Sam for the second time during the Summer Interns Activity , I knew that I
could use my reputation, and thus, personal credibility to benefit. In The Necessary Art of
Persuasion, Conger claims that one should always frame their position to find common ground.
Providing evidence in the form of data and past experiences, even the use of personal credibility
can be highly beneficial when it comes to persuading the other party. Having done my readings

As we had already developed a casual friendship, and I found it very easy to talk to him. It is
important to note that he was unaware of the turning point ; all he knew was that I was an easy
person to negotiate with. My credibility came from our previous interaction where I acknowledged
his interests and was willing to cooperate. Before the negotiation even started, we both agreed to do
the negotiation activity quickly. This helped me articulate my points of interests in an articulate and

Genre is a system of categorization that groups similar styled works together under one label. The
comedy genre broadly refers to any work that is purposefully humorous and aims to induce laughter,
however throughout history composers have used this genre to critique society and human nature,
allowing them to manipulate the audiences view of themselves and others in a non confrontational
format. The texts School for Scandal by Richard Sheridan, Emma by Jane Austen, Blackadder by
Richard Curtis and Ben Elton, and South Park by Matt Stone and Trey Parker all evaluate their

Reflective Essay On The Glory Of God
As I said in this processing, we as individuals along with the church are coming full circle to the
image and the bride of Christ. In order to complete the process and walk in victory we re going
to have to get things right in the church. Let me say it again, if we are to walk in the manifested
power of the Glory of God we have to be transparent, accountable and get things right or God is
going to strip us naked in front of everybody. We must stop perpetrating, be real and keep it real on
this journey. We must take authority over every unclean spirit and everything that s not like God.
Rebuke those spirits! Rebuke the spirit of fear and intimidation in the name of Jesus! Renounce the
spirit of passivity. Renounce the spirit of insecurity, for in your weakness God s strength is
made perfect. Weakness is where the anointing is. We got to speak over ourselves, speak over
our situation: Now God I decree in the name of Jesus that I m walking into health, body, soul and
spirit. In the name of Jesus, I decree myself free. I make a decision. I ve decided to be free in the
name of Jesus. Wash me Lord! Satan will not stop the advancement of the church. He will not stop
the advancement of the people of God no matter what device he uses.
One of his most diabolical devices is the tongue. The people of God need to learn to bridle their
tongues. The same word that is spoken in your local church, you need to speak. You got to start

With the media portraying foster care as a negative solution to a very serious issue, does not
work well with getting children out of their current situations. No one really exhibits how the
children feel in foster care in the media, but studies show, children in the foster care system may
not view their situation as negative. These children may have a great experience in foster care,
even though there are a few flawed areas in the system. Their perception of foster care may be
very different from the workers of child protection services and the media s perception (Chapman,
Wall, Barth, 2004; Ellingsen, Stephens, Storksen, 2012; Fernandez, 2007; Jones Kruk, 2005). The
children s perception of foster care is the most important perception dince they are the ones who has

The Foster Care System
The foster care system in the United States is viewed negatively and the media portrays it as
such. The public only knows what the media tells them about the foster care system. The
stereotypical views are mostly what is thought the foster care system consisted of, not what goes
on behind the scenes (Leber LeCroy, 2012). The only people who would have a good insight on
what goes on behind the scenes are the people that are involved, which are the caregivers, the
social workers, the biological families, and the children. Their placements, relationships with their
caregivers, and stability all had factors of how the foster care system was

The Iran Hostage Crisis
The Iran Hostage Crisis changed the political connections between the United States and Iran for
several years to come. The Iran Hostage Crisis became a symbol of America s global power and
influence On November 4, 1979, Iranian students stormed the US embassy in Tehran, Iran, and took
sixty three Americans hostage. The students agreed that the hostages would not be released until
the Shah returned to Iran to stand trial for the crimes committed against the Iranian people.
(Bechtel). Despite the Shah s treatment of the Iranian people, the President Carted allowed the
Shah into the United States to receive medical treatment. Although President Carter made attempts
to negotiate the hostages released, he failed several times. Because of his failures he was viewed
inept and ineffective in regards to the crisis. The hostages were released on January 20, 1981, the
day that President Ronald Reagan was sworn into office. This paper will discuss the main reason
why the hostages were taken, and why they were not released sooner.
Back in 1950, when Mossadegh was Prime Minister of Iran, he nationalized Iran s oil industry,
reducing the European influence throughout the nation over the oil commodity. This sparked great
fear throughout the United States; they feared the communists would turn the Iran democracy

What Is The Similarities Between The Lamb And The Tyger
The Lamb and The Tyger William Blake, a prominent poet in the late 1800s, wrote some of the
most meaningful pieces that are still looked at today by many. Poems are unique because they
must arrive to the point while also compacting all of the necessary literary devices needed for a
concise message. William Blakedoes just this especially in his contrasting poems The Lamband The
Tyger. The poems The Tyger and The Lamb along with their literary devices coexist in order to
create romanticism and to convey William Blake s important contrasting messages of innocence
and power. In the poem The Lamb, the principal theme is innocence. The picture in the poem

It is documented that Blake had raw talent in coloring and writing. Not only did he show such
rare potential at a young age, he also claimed to have several supernatural visions. Almost every
poem he has written involves a higher being perhaps because of his miraculous visions that he
has experienced. His most famous poems contrast each other in that they talk about completely
different things. Blake s songs of innocence go in depth in describing our existence and how
nature is more related to ourselves than we think. William Blake s other poems deal with a
different perspective that involves the loss of innocence and power. Blake wrote these contrasting
poems in order to teach readers and scholars the important relationships they have with each other.
The Tyger for instance is a poem that deals with power and corruption. The Lamb is a poem that
makes us readers ponders the most basic unanswered human questions. Naturally many view a lamb
as weak, and I think that the author did this in order for him to tell his message.
The Tyger by many is viewed as a poem that deals with God s other characteristics. God is viewed
as merciful in the Lamb, however, in the Tyger, God is viewed more along the lines of the
immense power he possesses. The Tyger naturally is a creature of power because of the strength it

the Dodge WC Ambulance, M3 Stuart tank, and M4 Sherman tank were the main vehicles used
in battle for the United States. The Dodge WC Ambulance,M3 Stuart, and M4 Sherman tank was
not the only vehicles used during the war, there were a massive amount of different vehicle types
as the war progressed on because of countries trying to out do the others. The main types of
vehicles used were Tanks,Airplanes,Ships,Transport, and Self propelled guns which the United
States had some of the best during the war. The most used vehicle in the war was the tanks and all

The Movie Crash By Paul Higgins
In the film, Crash by Paul Higgins there is the incorporation of numerous perspectives and
theories of societal issues. The film brought up various issues we face in our world today such
as racial discrimination, stereotyping, and prejudice etc. One theory that is seen is the symbolic
interaction theory. There is the usage of different symbols in the film. Each character in the film
comes from a different culture; socioeconomic background etc. and they each have their own
story. There are many hidden messages in the film through the usage of symbols. The title of the
film is Crash which can be interpreted in many different ways. In the beginning of the film, I
believed the title to just speak about car collisions or accidents, but throughout the film you re
able to see collisions between diverse ethnic groups and socioeconomic status. There are also
many different vehicles used in the films, which could also be a symbol representing class and
wealth. Ludacris s character named Anthony stated, You don t have any idea why they put great
big windows on buses, one reason only, to humiliate the people of color riding on them. () In
Anthony s perspective, riding a bus meant that you re poor and or part of the minority population.
At the end of the film when he actually rode a bus it allowed him to see that he was wrong.
Anthony saw individuals from different cultures and statuses and understood he was wrong about
his pre judgments. A vehicle used by the two wealthier

A Report On Employees Staff Turnover
Introduction: Any business with unhappy employees will lead to high rate of staff turnover and
generally create a negative work environment. This has been an ongoing and serious issue, it is
definitely something that requires addressing and to be improved so JW Manufacturing can

Ephany In The Destructors
Henry Graham Greene wrote many stories that express epiphany that brings one to realize a
powerful truth. Greene continues this theme into his short story The Destructors as he expresses
his view of the instability of post World War II in England. The boys in the story have lost their
innocence having forced to give up their childhood to the bombings and destruction of war. The
boys reflect the trauma England experienced in the war and the drastic changes made after the
war. Forced to give up their childhood and innocence, the boys turn to causing mischief in town,
along with destroying a specific house. This house in The Destructors, symbolizes England after
World War II. The house represents post war England as it is described as the... Show more content

The ripples of the fundamentalist movement s decisions changed the political course of the country
since its inception. In September 1996, the Taliban formed a government in the country and ruled it
as the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan. It thrived in a post Soviet era when the Taliban promised
stability and prosperity after years of conflict within the country from other Islamic fighter groups.
Unfortunately, the Taliban had religious extremist views that were influenced by their own
interpretations of the Sharia or Islamic law. The group committed massacres across the land just to
gain control over the country. Soon, the Islamic law was brutally enforced by imprisonment,
executions, and amputations for those who disobeyed. Accordingly, the Taliban regime met
opposition from other countries and international organizations since the beginning. In fact, only
the United Arab Emirates, Pakistan, and Saudi Arabia acknowledged the Taliban government. It
finally came to the point that the UN Security Council released resolutions in the late 90s
regarding the Taliban s human rights violations and their refusal to extradite another Islamic
extremist group, Al Qaeda. This sparked a 13 year war in Afghanistan that resulted in the loss of
92,000 people in which 26,000 were civilians, and also displaced hundreds and thousands of lives.

Dr. Mannix Brief Summary
Dr. Mannix Summary Sheet
A Basic Biography
Dr Mannix was originally head of the Maynooch College in Ireland before moving to Melbourne,
Australia in 1913 as Coadjutor to Archbishop Thomas Carr. He was outspoken about Catholics
being denied the right of religious education and his main goal became to receive justice in this
area. Mannix rejected compromise and encouraged Catholics to be assertive of their beliefs. Within
a year of Dr. Mannix s arrival he gained a substantial amount of public attention to Catholic
Australians oppression. Mannix was a strong supporter of Catholic Federation (1911 document that
allowed Catholics more freedom to speak of their beliefs. Aimed to unite Catholics with other
Australians). Mannix also supported Australia in war but opposed conscription, especially due to
conflict between Britain and Ireland (his and many Catholics original home) at the time.

community to have demands met by politicians. He threatened to evoke the Catholic community s
support of the labour party unless took action for justice for Catholics. Mannix once said To reason

The Great Old Ones
When you chose to represent each of your albums on individual novellas from one of the most
renowned horror authors in the world, there can hardly be a short supply of thematic inspiration.
Numerous bands have created concept albums based around their own ideas, or pen songs that take
insight from creative writing, but few bands will dedicate the entire span of an album to an existing
piece of literature.
H.P. Lovecraft is the lifeblood of France s ambient black metal quintet, The Great Old Ones. His
grotesque imagery in his vivid fictional recounting goes hand in hand with the bleak grandeur that
The Great Old Ones conjures, which simultaneously takes their audience on a journey through the

EOD: A Tale of Dark Legacy is very much a continuation of the band s past two albums, only with
increased theatrics and wild execution. The guitars are solely focused on creating a grandiose
atmosphere but predominantly rely on walls of sound and swerving rhythms; the halfway point of
The Ritual inducing a heavy Emperor influence. The technique may sound one dimensional but it s
what imagery is being portrayed by the guitars that command your attention, not how it is portrayed.
Finally, a special mention has to go to LГ©o Isnard s pummelling drumming, which is nothing short
of breathtaking throughout this accursed plot.
The Great Old Ones have once again breathed further life into the fictional world of H.P Lovecraft
as well as mastering their chosen aesthetic of atmospheric black metal. Moreover, their narration of
The Shadow over Innsmouth vividly assures everyone, just like the novel once did, that humanity
is doomed and the Esoteric Order of Dagon will be restored to its inescapable

Joseph Smith and the Church of Jesus Christ and the Latter...
It was in the year 1820 in Palmyra, New York that Joseph Smith went into a forest near his house
and prayed to God for the knowledge of what religion he should be apart of. Suddenly God the
Father and His Son, Jesus Christ, appeared to him giving him the faith that was lost so long ago to
be carried on. He was now given the faith from JesusChrist himself to pass onto others that had
once been lost. Joseph Smith was chosen to restore the Church of Jesus Christ. In the next decade
Joseph Smith published the Book of Mormon, based on the golden plates that he said an angel had
given him (Ayers). Then started setting up the Latter day Saints Church. He did this on April 6th,
1830, in New York. Joseph Smith was seen as the leader of the new faith of Mormonism.
Beliefs of the Latter day Saints:
Church: The Latter day Saints believe in a loving, personal God as our heavenly Father. Since
He is the Father of our spirits, all people are His children and thus all people are brothers and
sisters (Mormon Newsroom). The church/organization is led by a prophet which is the
president of the church as well as 2 councilors. In church the leaders do not aspire to church
positions but rather respond to callings . They believe God was once mortal as well as that

2.5REVIEWS ON RFID IN WAREHOUSE
The RFID system mainly includes three parts: reader, antenna, and RFID tag, as shown. Because
of the uniqueness of the RFID tag, the reader can locate and track the target once it is attached on
an RFID tag. Passive tags are used to attach on the target object because they are much cheaper,
long lived, lightweight and have a smaller foot print. The reader can communicated with host
computer through RS232.
1.An RFID interrogator, or more often called an RFID reader, is a RF transmitting and receiving
device used to communicate with an RFID Tag. The device was named an interrogator because it
interrogates the tags. The term reader is a more colloquial term, but is sometimes misleading in
that many of these devices also have the ability to encode, or write information to an RFID Tag. A
reader basically acts as an RF sensor because it can communicate with RFID tags that are within its
range and is designed to interface with an information process system.

Rise Above the Misery in Les MisГ©rables by Victor Hugo...
As the era of literature slowly declines, the expert critiques and praise for literature are lost.
Previously, novels were bursting at the seams with metaphors, symbolism, and themes. In current
times, novels are simply short stories that have been elaborated on with basic plot elements that
attempt to make the story more interesting. Instead of having expert critical analysis written about
them, they will, most likely, never see that, as recent novels have nothing to analyze. Even books
are beginning to collect dust, hidden away and forgotten, attributing to the rise of companies such
as Spark Notes. An author deserves to have his work praised, no matter how meager and the
masses should have the right to embrace it or to reject it. As... Show more content on

Similarly, another critic believes that the morals and peer pressure of a dauntless society are
what causes Man to become evil. This evil slowly forces them to progress into hardened ruffians
that are forced to resort to a pis aller in order to regain some hope for themselves. Thus, society
cannot evolve (Lewes 245). Contrary to what Reeves believes, Critic Moss believes that
misfortune is the sole cause of one s faults and that the main theme of the novel is the barrier
between those who choose degradation and those who are driven to it (228). Furthermore, the critic
Napierkowski believes that the meaning of life is love and that through the love that all people
receive, any number of traits can be changed. She explicates that change is extremely relevant in
the case of Jean Valjeanwho is a convict turned upstanding citizen. She also recalls that in the
novel Valjean is only transformed due to the love he receives from the Bishop of Digne, who gave
Valjean everything that he had (Novels for Students). Reeves, again, also explores the concept that
Hugo is trying to prove that humans need to love each other for the world to be a happier place
(Masterplots). Thus, through evidence in Les MisГ©rables, the aforementioned themes can easily
be proven. As the novel progresses, the two major themes of love altering one s soul and
misfortune being

I honest believe this is the only remedy for providing up to date technology, the company has to
make it a priority to provide the same technology to the global environment. The customs can be
corrected by provided a print out of what is allowed and what is not allowed to be brought into
or out of a country a passenger is traveling through. The information is available online but some
older passengers aren t as savvy with technology so they may not receive the same information.
With this tactic there is not any excuse for not knowing what is expected when going through
customs. The strategies I stated above will be successful, only if they are applied. Without
application the strategy will be a failure. Within the domestic environment the security system can
be significantly improved and decrease the risk for terrorist attacks greatly. This technology
needs to be protected by requiring a security clearance for all employees who work for the
company. This way you have a thorough back ground check on everyone who works for US

Macroeconomic Trends And Conditions Of New Zealand Essay
In the following essay, various macroeconomic trends and conditions will be explored in reference
to New Zealand.
While New Zealand has a rich history dating back to prehistoric times, the main economic
development began with the colonization by British explorers in the late 1700 s. Throughout time,
the island nation has shared much with its British lineage in that it has been a predominately
isolated island nation that relies heavily on international trade. While this has allowed New
Zealand to become developed and prosperous, it also exposes their economy to global economic
recessions and unexpected swings in various economic indicators. Sections in particular will focus
on GDP, inflation, unemployment, credit markets, and lastly fiscal and monetary policy.
New Zealand s GDP in 2014 was $198.1 billion U.S. Dollars, which ranks 49th in the world.
Their economy is free market oriented and developed, and is routinely ranked as one of the more
efficient and least corrupt economies in the entire world [2][3][10]. Currently, GDP expenditure in
New Zealand is around 70% based in the services sector, 26% in the industrial sector, and the
remaining 4% in agriculture. New Zealand has a high percentage of its GDP composed in both
imports and exports in international trade, which stand around 28% for both respectively [2][3].
Because of this high reliance on international trade, the most recent economic recession from 2008
2009 saw real GDP contract for five quarters in a row,

Character Analysis Of Mrs. Dubose
Mrs. Henry Lafayette Dubose, one of the key characters in Harper Lee s To Kill A Mockingbird
is according to Scout the meanest old women who ever lived (pp 39.) Her character is harsh and
very unapologetic, example being yelling nasty comments to the children as they walk past her
house two door down from the Finch s house; she represents the old way of life in Maycomb
County. Comparing her from book to film, her impact isn t highlighted as much in film since her
shadowhasn t cast as much onto the children as she is only showcased in one scene being at 11:38
13:05 in the film. Her character is one that acts on the shift of values and attitude between herself
and the children.
Harper Lee s Mrs Dubose is scary and rough to the children, especially in chapter 11 (pp. 114
128,) when she not only yells don t you say hey to me, you ugly girl! You say good afternoon,
Mrs Dubose! (pp. 115) to Scout but also disapproves of the children referring to their father as
Atticus (pp.115,) doesn t like that Scout wears overalls (pp. 117,) and wants Jem sent to reform
school since she believes he had broken down Maudie Atkinson s scuppernong arbor (pp.116.)
Her impact is extreme on the children as she has old fashioned values and believes they need to

Argentine culture has been largely influenced by European countries. Significant influences include
Spanish, French, British, and Italian, as well as African, and its very own gaucho (Indian) culture.
Some of their most recognized cultural symbols include tango influenced by jazz; and of course
soccer, which is the national sport. Soccer is a very important aspect in the Argentinian culture.

This trend has been largely maintained, creating millions of jobs and encouraging internal

Argentina will find reasonably easy to find competitive and qualified staff of all kinds. This is
another opportunity for us, since a lot of people are looking for jobs it will be easier to get
qualified staff to start our business.
2.3. Threats to business success
People from Argentina are commonly known as very individualistic people. Argentinian culture is
largely influenced by European countries. Around 85% of Argentinian people have European
origin. Often Argentinians are seen as very patriotic people, and they are very proud of their
country. It is common to hear that some Argentinians have racist behavior toward foreigners in
some occasions. We consider this to be a threat for us and for our business. People in Argentina
tend to utilize local products and services and there is a big chance that they will not be happy to
deal with foreign competition. Despite recent economic growth and some improvement in poverty

Daniel James Brown s The Boys In The Boat
The Boys in The Boat opens up with the author, Daniel James Brown traveling to Joe Rantz
house to speak to him about one of the books that the author had written. At this point in the
story the author is in a mountainous location. Later on in the book the reader learns that Joe
picked up a fondness for wood, more of an appreciation if anything. So the reader can conclude
that Joe had decided to live in a forested area because he likes trees. The book then jumps
backwards to 1933 in Seattle, Washington. The author sets up the atmosphere and setting of the
cloudy city flawlessly while also showing the reader that the protagonists are living in a very hard
and depressing time. Most of the book takes place in this rainy city as the oarsmen try

William Carrigan s Violence During The Nineteenth Century
William Carrigan describes violence in central Texas in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries in
The Making of a Lynching Culture as a societally driven solution to fear. In the 1850s and 1860s,
he says that extralegal violence is used more often because of the panic caused by increasing slave
resistance. He gives several reasons that Anglo Texans create for slave resistance, but their main
claim is that outsiders are to blame for convincing slaves to fight against slavery. In the Portal to
TexasHistory, there are archives of newspapers from the time, and these papers use colorful
language that displays just how desperate Anglo Texans and the South are to keep that slavery
intact. Texan slaveholders looked to others for supposed... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Those words are volatile when it comes to the Texas audience, and these articles that point at
Mexicans instead of slaveholders for slave resistance are useful in the defense of extralegal
violence. Because of these articles, Texas slaveholders feel like they can conceal how unhappy
their slaves are and claim that Anglo Texans are victims. Later in the aforementioned passage from
Carrigan, he explains that Anglo Texans suggested that outside forces convinced slaves to have an
uprising, which gave slaveholders the justification they needed to use extralegal violence to limit
slave resistance.
An example of Anglo Texans blaming outsiders, specifically Mexicans, can be seen in 1851. That
year, the Texas State Gazette explained that Mexicoactively supported the runaway slaves, and
that Mexico fought those who visited town to claim their property. This has so exasperated many
of the settlers at the west, the article said, that they are determined to raise a force sufficient to
overpower all opposition, and re capture their slaves at all hazards. This exasperation only fuels
the grudge that Anglo Texans hold toward Mexico, and will add to slaveholders fears that their
main source of labor and, by extension, income could escape their grasp so easily. This fear stems
back to when Santa Anna s army marched northward in Texas after the battle at the Alamo, when

Public Outcry For Reform And Government Intervention
Power: The Growing Discourse in America
America was built upon the belief that Power and Wealth lead to success in society. The
distribution of power in the United States, specifically its centralization, is a topic of major debate
do to public outcry for reform and government intervention. In regards to social, political, or
economic subjects, change is not only profoundly desired, but also greatly needed.
Social conflicts in society are about as often as seeing a leave in a dense forest. The debate about
power, however, is interesting because it is not only a reoccurring issues in America, but also leads
to debates about other subjects. One of these subjects is gun control. The argument is whether or
not the government has the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
An example from modern entertainment that supports the argument against the centralization of
power is the movie, The Wolf of Wall Street by Martin Scorsese. This movie explores the life of
Jordan Belfort, a stock broker in New York whose life falls into a collapse due to his immense
wealth and power. This connects to the argument against centralized power because it illustrates
through the media of film how centralized power can lead to corruption of a person s morals and
well being. Power, in this case, ultimately resulted in the collapse of everything in Belfort s social
life.
Along with the social aspects of life here in America, politics are also affected by corruption due to
the concentration of power. Famous rapper and notorious celebrity, Kanye West, dedicated a song
to the subject of power and its negative effect on the world of politics, properly named Power . West
states, ...the abomination of Obama s nation... to reference the corruption of politics in America.
This connects to the argument against the concentration of power by alluding to the fact that once
Barack Obama became president, his power led to America being put into a state of pure disgust.

Sigmund Freud And Erikson s Theory Of Human Development
Introduction
The issue of human development has been a related one within the human society. In this respect,
there are several developmental theories that have been forwarded by some of the world s most
well known psychologists. The two main psychoanalytic theories are Sigmund Freud s
psychosexual theory and Erik Erikson s psychosocial theory. They are the two names that one
cannot miss while talking about psychology. Sigmund Freud is called the father of psychology while
Erik Erikson s ideas have become the best known.

Their theories were unique in their own way. Freud s psychosexual theory was focused almost
entirely on male development with little mention of female psychosexual development. When
Fisher Greenberg (1996) evaluated psychosexual hypotheses specifically on female they found
nothing. According to McLeod, S. (2013) Freud based his theory on the recollections of his
childhood and his adult patients, not on actual observation and study of children. On the other hand
Erikson s studies were based on children, college students and most importantly he observed his

The Language Of English As A Language
English as a language has been designated as having a global ranking (Crystal 1997), (Northrup
2013), (Mckenzie 2010). A language that is deemed as having a global status is clarified by
Crystal (2003, p.3) as one that achieves a genuinely global status when it develops a special role
that is recognised in every country . Due to this prestigious standing that English has attained, it is
unsurprising that many are keen to acquire it across the world. This is also supported by Wyse,
Andrews and Hoffman (2010, P.398) who state English is much more favoured over the other
official languages as a second language. As many learners are acquiring English in the context of a
second or foreign language, the discussion over utilising the learner s first language in the process
remains a contentious subject (Brown, 2000). This assignment will provide an overview of
perceptions from differing approaches in regards to the use of the L1 in language education, along
with arguments in support and against the same.
Background of L1 in language teaching.
The precise role that can be played by the learner s first language (L1) in the process of acquiring a
second language has not been explicitly agreed upon. However, the issue of whether to utilise the
L1 in the classroom has remained at the forefront in the English language teaching arena. Mattioli
(2004, P.21) highlights that most teachers tend to have opinions about native language use, this can
depend largely on their training and in

Antwone Fisher
Antwone Fisher
The focus of this paper is on psychodynamic (intergenerational and psychoanalytic) family
therapies; and how these concepts apply to helping the protagonist in the major motion picture
Antwone Fisher overcome traumatic incidents he experienced during his childhood and adolescent
years, as well as help him to manage his current anger issues. Psychodynamics, in its broadest sense,
is an approach to the study of human behavior that emphasizes the study and use of the
psychological forces that underlie human behavior, feelings and emotions; how they relate to early
childhood experiences . . . (Sher Sher, 2015). Intergenerational and psychoanalytic family therapies
can be described as an approach to the study of how a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Sexual and aggressive drives are at the heart of human nature
Every human being wants to be appreciated
Symptoms are attempted to cope with unconscious conflicts over sex and aggression
Internalized objects become projected onto important others; we then evoke responses from
them that fit that object, they comply, and we react to the projection rather than the real person
Early experiences affect later relationships
Internalized objects affect inner experience and outer relationships
In addition, Kerr (2000) points out that a core assumption is that an emotional system that evolved
over several billion years governs human relationship systems.
Thus, intergenerational and psychoanalytic family therapies share several key concepts and
practices: examining a client s early relationships to understand present functioning; tracing
transgenerational and extended family dynamics to understand a client s complaints; promoting
insight into extended family dynamics to facilitate change; and identifying and altering destructive
beliefs and patterns of behavior that were

The Horrible Nightmare Of My Brain
As the tour bus trudged down the wet roads as carefully as it possibly could, I was trembling in
my bunk. I had woken up at around two in the morning, having woken up from a horrible
nightmare. I was thankful the others hadn t heard me cry out when I snapped out of my dreams, but
now I sat alone, recalling the nightmarethat was clearly linked to my absurd paranoia. I naturally
have nightmares daily, but this one struck much closer to home, hitting my heart in ways others
couldn t. I was with the bandand we were rock climbing, having a great time, though we lacked
equipment. We were holding hands as we went, but slowly started to slip one by one and fall to
their deaths. It terrifies me, though knowing it won t actually happen. A part... Show more content

After years of avoiding it all, I had to break and it was something that caused a ripple effect on my
entire life. I became self destructive with the drugs and cutting, but it came to an end when I found
the band that saved my life.
When I joined Linkin Park, I had no idea that these guys would not just help me pay my bills, but
become my best friends and the people that meant the most in my life. They welcomed me into the
band as though I was family and we all stuck together perfectly, thanks to Mike.
Mike was always the glue that held the band together. Whenever we were in a silly argument, he
d step in and end the fight before it could get out of control. Of course we have arguments with
him too occasionally, but he d always put his foot down and show his dominance; not to mention
he s always there for me when I need him. When I joined the band, he took me under his wing and
we became the closest pair of friends anyone has ever saw. He s always sticking his leg out for me
and I feel as though he does too much for me.
Chester? Are you awake? Mike asks me, peaking into my bunk. I nodded my head and he sighed.
Can t sleep either, huh?
Nope, I reply, not wanting to tell him about my nightmare.
Do you want to do something? The bus is about to park in a few minutes for about a hour or so;
the driver wants to take a break, He informs me. I nod my head and he takes my hand,

The Strategy Of Airasia X
Problem Statement
In 2001, AirAsia was founded by Tony Fernandes. After six years, Fernandes realized the
company should create a airline separated from AirAsia to focus on the low cost long haul market
which he called AirAsia X. Azran Osman Rani was appointed to the become the CEO of the newly
established company. The company had an initial success by being the first mover. However, there
were some problems that they had to face along the way as they were in a completely new market
using an untried business model. One of the main challenges for the company is the protectionist
measures taken by the Malaysian government to protect the national airline, Malaysia Airlines
(MAS). The other major problem is the limitations on the general ... Show more content on

This helped X to increase the seating capacity by 20 percent. X also had a flexible flight schedule
as its aircraft was in the air for 16 hours per day in average, which is much higher than the industry
average of 11 hours per day.
SWOT Analysis
AirAsia X s main strength is the low price that it offers for customers. For most airlines in the
industry, it is extremely difficult to keep the price low for long haul flights as the full services
offered in most airlines increase the operating costs. In addition, X also benefited from the
expansive network, infrastructure and customers that AirAsia already has that enabled them to
grow fast with good financial outcomes. On the other hand, X s main weakness is the
technology. The website always crashes and the company doesn t have its own database of
customers. X also doesn t enjoy from a strong relationship with the Malaysian Transport Ministry.
This can be detrimental to the company as it finds competing with Malaysia Airlines in some
profitable routes to be difficult. However, X has some opportunities. For example, in order to
keep the low price ticket, cooperating with fuel companies which will offer low fuel price and
increasing demand in low cost airlines will bring profits. The major threat for AirAsia X is the
protectionist measures taken by the Malaysian government that prevented X from flying planes to
some destinations with high demand. This would have been a very

Essay on Bird and Wildlife Management at Airports
On January 15, 2009, United Airlines flight 1549 ditched into the Hudson river immediately after
take off from New York s LaGuardia Airport only five passengers were seriously injured and
seventy eight passengers reported minor injuries. It was brilliant piloting of Captain Chesley
Sullenberger that saved everyone from a horrendous death but how did this event occur? From
reports and interviews, the aircraft suffered damage to both of the aircraft s engines. The cause of
the failure to both engines, was non other than a flock of Canada Geese that flew into both engines,
during the first two minutes of the flight. Birdand wildlife strikes have occurred ever since the

Second, there is has also been a large increase in military and commercial aviation transportation.
Thirdly, due to more urbanization and city growth, natural birds and wildlife habitats have
become fewer. In this case, more birds and wildlife have began settling near airports. With the
increase in damages to aircraft from bird and wildlife strikes, how do airports prevent from future
collisions with bird and wildlife? Airports have many traditional ways of treating the issue. Some
are environmentally safe while others may cause controversy with environmental and government
groups. Each does have its pros and cons though. One method is the use of firearms. This method
is quick but requires precise accuracy and quick judgment Either shooting to scare or to kill and
remove the animal, this method is the least popular due to the fact that some wildlife are either
endangered or under environmental protection. For example a United States airport would lose it s
public opinion if one of the animal control employes opened fire upon an American Bald Eagle
which happens to be the national bird. The use chemicals is another method that is non violent to
deter bird and wildlife. Some airports use certain plants that produce chemicals and odors the
makes wildlife uncomfortable and stay away from the airfield. Though this method is non violent
to birds and wildlife, it does have its set backs. Chemicals used to spray around the airfield can

  • 2. Eusebius History Of The Church Summary Eusebius explains that he feels he must add a tenth book to his History of the Church, dedicating them to one Paulinus, so as to chow god s gret deliverance he has bestwoed on the Christians. Furthermore with the addition of this sectio the work becomes a perfect number (10:1). The churches which had only shortly previously endured the intense persecution of the empure now enjoyed the great favor of this same empire (10:2). Eusebius provides a translation of the decree by Constantinus and Licentius granting religious freedom. In this decree they reason that whatever spirtual forces exist, they would be well served if they were on their own side. They will therefore allow people of any faith to freely worship in the hopes that one of these sects will grant divine blessing to the empire. Furthermore any places which had been taken from the Christians are to be immiediatly restored, those resotring them being compensated... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Similarly in a letter to Anulinus he dictates that clergymen are not to be forced to perform publuc services. This is because he sees the welfare of the realm as being connected to their ability to serve God, and so would not hinder this (10:7). However, Licinius was not as pleased with this situation as he ought to have been. Eusebius writes that Licinius, consumed with envy for Constantine, began to plot against him. However, all of his plots were foiled by the divine protection Constantine enjoyed. As such, he next turned to violence and began to persecute the Christians in his realm (10:8). Eusebius records that Constantine, seeing this, had no choice but to go to war with Licinius. Constantine, enjoying the favor of God as he did, was easily victorious. Thus Constantine united the empire, and brought peace and joy to all his subjects ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Informative Essay On Margaret Sanger Margaret Sanger, a militant determined to push her cause and see her dreams fulfilled. I admire her for her will and determination to pass what she believed was right; fighting the people keeping her down. She believed in birth control and the idea women control their own bodies. Her target groups might have been considered racist , but she pushed to help women. I believe in birth control and cutting out unwanted pregnancies. Women deserve to choose if they want to be a mother or not. Birth control is right to use if you have been raped, not mentally capable of being a mother and not have the control to be a mother. Every child born should be wanted and not just here; no child deserves to be abused or mistreated. Margaret Sanger was an early feminist and women s rights activist who coined the term birth control and worked towards its legalization (bibliography, 2014). Ms. Sanger was born to Anne Higgins on September 14, 1879, in Corning, New York. Sanger was one of eleven children that were born to Ms. Higgins. She had the concept ... • 4. The Abuse of Alcohol by College Students Alcohol and the abuse of it by college students is a big problem that many college towns such as Iowa City, Iowa, are facing. With increasingly more students drinking alcohol, what was once just a casual drink can quickly turn into binge drinking. This behavior has many consequences for not only the student, but also the public. By being resilient and working together as a community, we all could make it easier to combat this problem of binge drinking in college students in IowaCity and the troubles that arise from it. Binge drinking is defined as the consumption of alcoholthat raises a person s blood alcohol concentration in a short amount of time. This usually means five or more drinks for men and four or more drinks for women within a two hour time span. Although most college students are not able to drink alcohol legally until their junior year, studies have shown that about four out of five college students drink alcohol before the legal age of twenty one. Of these college students who drink, about half of them engage in binge drinking. Binge drinking increases the risk of alcohol poisoning, a condition that could result in death. This level of drinking has also been shown to increase the risk of committing suicide and /or being a victim of sexual assault. Between 1.2 and 1.5 percent of college students say they have tried commit suicide and more than 97,000 college students are sexually abused as a result of alcohol or drug use. (Warren) Binge drinking also affects ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Quantitative is data the deals with quantities, information that can be measured and put down as numbers on paper. An example quantitative data can be someone s height, shoe size, and length of hair. Qualitative data is information that can t be measured but still existed in a sense that we can understand. Analyzing the research involves having a aim that you want to uncover, using that uncovered data to explain a phenomenon. Another aspect that needs to be considered about qualitative research is that it doesn t have a existing set system to identify and label the data. • 6. Stigma Of Psychological Disorders Each one of these disorders has a stigma that follows it. The only way to combat that stigma is to educate society on psychological disorders. These disorders get over looked by some people and are thought of as less serious than physical disorders, and sometimes people think they are made up. Depression and schizophrenia are just as serious and life threatening as diabetes or liver disease. The symptoms of mental disorders just go unseen, so others think they don t exist. Prejudice and discrimination comes from these stigmas (King, p. 470, 2013), and that can negatively affect these people more than imaginable. Their disorders may also go untreated because people believe their disorders are made up. Stigma can significantly affect feelings ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In the map that Roden had, it showed the US going to the Rio Grande and then Mexico coming over to the Rio Grande too, which was within American borders.(Roden 315) When the Mexicans crossed America s borders, they didn t think they did, because both America and Mexico had different ideas of where the border was. Mexico believed it to be on the Nueces River, and America believed it to be on the Rio Grande. This could have been a reason of to why America and Mexico got into the big argument. The Spread of Jazz and the Effects on Society Black Face, Blue Notes and Whiteman The early growth and rapid expansion of popular American music in late nineteenth and early twentieth century America had widespread and irreversible effects on not only the growing black population, but also on America as a whole. The growth and evolution of music in this period, though fraught with racismand obstacles for the black performer, prepared the nation for the cultural revolution that allowed for the improvement of race relations and, ultimately, the gradual acceptance of a multi racial national identity. With an eclectic mix of races, class and urban and rural environments, New Orleans came to be the center of early jazz development. The eventual explosion of jazz in the 1920s was foreshadowed by the quick rise to popularity jazz experienced in the city. Jazz music provided black artists with a possibility of relatively steady employment and eventually facilitated the dispersion of black culture throughout America. I did not think much of that comment then, but when I found out that I would be negotiating with Sam for the second time during the Summer Interns Activity , I knew that I could use my reputation, and thus, personal credibility to benefit. The comedy genre broadly refers to any work that is purposefully humorous and aims to induce laughter, however throughout history composers have used this genre to critique society and human nature, allowing them to manipulate the audiences view of themselves and others in a non confrontational format. The texts School for Scandal by Richard Sheridan, Emma by Jane Austen, Blackadder by Richard Curtis and Ben Elton, and South Park by Matt Stone and Trey Parker all evaluate their society through the use of satire in order to tell a truth, as a truth told by comic means draws the reader/spectator closer allowing them to ambush the overly confident... In order to complete the process and walk in victory we re going to have to get things right in the church. Let me say it again, if we are to walk in the manifested power of the Glory of God we have to be transparent, accountable and get things right or God is going to strip us naked in front of everybody. We must stop perpetrating, be real and keep it real on this journey. We must take authority over every unclean spirit and everything that s not like God. Rebuke those spirits! Rebuke the spirit of fear and intimidation in the name of Jesus! Renounce the spirit of passivity. Renounce the spirit of insecurity, for in your weakness God s strength is made perfect. Weakness is where the anointing is. We got to speak over ourselves, speak over our situation: Now God I decree in the name of Jesus that I m walking into health, body, soul and spirit. In the name of Jesus, I decree myself free. I make a decision. I ve decided to be free in the name of Jesus. Wash me Lord! Satan will not stop the advancement of the church. He will not stop the advancement of the people of God no matter what device he uses. One of his most diabolical devices is the tongue. The people of God need to learn to bridle their tongues. No one really exhibits how the children feel in foster care in the media, but studies show, children in the foster care system may not view their situation as negative. These children may have a great experience in foster care, even though there are a few flawed areas in the system. Their perception of foster care may be very different from the workers of child protection services and the media s perception (Chapman, Wall, Barth, 2004; Ellingsen, Stephens, Storksen, 2012; Fernandez, 2007; Jones Kruk, 2005). Kristal Cannici Dr. Lammers The West and the World: 1945 Present 20 November 2016 The Iran Hostage Crisis The Iran Hostage Crisis changed the political connections between the United States and Iran for several years to come. The Iran Hostage Crisis became a symbol of America s global power and influence On November 4, 1979, Iranian students stormed the US embassy in Tehran, Iran, and took sixty three Americans hostage. The students agreed that the hostages would not be released until the Shah returned to Iran to stand trial for the crimes committed against the Iranian people. (Bechtel). Despite the Shah s treatment of the Iranian people, the President Carted allowed the Shah into the United States to receive medical treatment. Although President Carter made attempts to negotiate the hostages released, he failed several times. Because of his failures he was viewed inept and ineffective in regards to the crisis. The hostages were released on January 20, 1981, the day that President Ronald Reagan was sworn into office. This paper will discuss the main reason why the hostages were taken, and why they were not released sooner. Back in 1950, when Mossadegh was Prime Minister of Iran, he nationalized Iran s oil industry, reducing the European influence throughout the nation over the oil commodity. This sparked great fear throughout the United States; they feared the communists would turn the Iran democracy against them. After three years in exile, in 1953 Shah Mohammed ... William Blake s other poems deal with a different perspective that involves the loss of innocence and power. Blake wrote these contrasting poems in order to teach readers and scholars the important relationships they have with each other. The Tyger for instance is a poem that deals with power and corruption. The Lamb is a poem that makes us readers ponders the most basic unanswered human questions. Similarly, another critic believes that the morals and peer pressure of a dauntless society are what causes Man to become evil. This evil slowly forces them to progress into hardened ruffians that are forced to resort to a pis aller in order to regain some hope for themselves. Thus, society cannot evolve (Lewes 245). Contrary to what Reeves believes, Critic Moss believes that misfortune is the sole cause of one s faults and that the main theme of the novel is the barrier between those who choose degradation and those who are driven to it (228). Furthermore, the critic Napierkowski believes that the meaning of life is love and that through the love that all people receive, any number of traits can be changed. She explicates that change is extremely relevant in the case of Jean Valjeanwho is a convict turned upstanding citizen. She also recalls that in the novel Valjean is only transformed due to the love he receives from the Bishop of Digne, who gave Valjean everything that he had (Novels for Students). While New Zealand has a rich history dating back to prehistoric times, the main economic development began with the colonization by British explorers in the late 1700 s. Throughout time, the island nation has shared much with its British lineage in that it has been a predominately isolated island nation that relies heavily on international trade. While this has allowed New Zealand to become developed and prosperous, it also exposes their economy to global economic recessions and unexpected swings in various economic indicators. Sections in particular will focus on GDP, inflation, unemployment, credit markets, and lastly fiscal and monetary policy. • 40. Character Analysis Of Mrs. Dubose Mrs. Henry Lafayette Dubose, one of the key characters in Harper Lee s To Kill A Mockingbird is according to Scout the meanest old women who ever lived (pp 39.) Her character is harsh and very unapologetic, example being yelling nasty comments to the children as they walk past her house two door down from the Finch s house; she represents the old way of life in Maycomb County. Comparing her from book to film, her impact isn t highlighted as much in film since her shadowhasn t cast as much onto the children as she is only showcased in one scene being at 11:38 13:05 in the film. Her character is one that acts on the shift of values and attitude between herself and the children. Harper Lee s Mrs Dubose is scary and rough to the children, especially in chapter 11 (pp. 114 128,) when she not only yells don t you say hey to me, you ugly girl! You say good afternoon, Mrs Dubose! (pp. 115) to Scout but also disapproves of the children referring to their father as Atticus (pp.115,) doesn t like that Scout wears overalls (pp. 117,) and wants Jem sent to reform school since she believes he had broken down Maudie Atkinson s scuppernong arbor (pp.116.) Her impact is extreme on the children as she has old fashioned values and believes they need to still act like children should, example being telling Jean Louise or Scout you should be in a dress and camisole young lady...what has this world come to when a Finch goes against his raising (pp.117,) explaining the old town values of ... William Carrigan s Violence During The Nineteenth Century William Carrigan describes violence in central Texas in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries in The Making of a Lynching Culture as a societally driven solution to fear. In the 1850s and 1860s, he says that extralegal violence is used more often because of the panic caused by increasing slave resistance. He gives several reasons that Anglo Texans create for slave resistance, but their main claim is that outsiders are to blame for convincing slaves to fight against slavery. Those words are volatile when it comes to the Texas audience, and these articles that point at Mexicans instead of slaveholders for slave resistance are useful in the defense of extralegal violence. Because of these articles, Texas slaveholders feel like they can conceal how unhappy their slaves are and claim that Anglo Texans are victims. Later in the aforementioned passage from Carrigan, he explains that Anglo Texans suggested that outside forces convinced slaves to have an uprising, which gave slaveholders the justification they needed to use extralegal violence to limit slave resistance. An example of Anglo Texans blaming outsiders, specifically Mexicans, can be seen in 1851. That year, the Texas State Gazette explained that Mexicoactively supported the runaway slaves, and that Mexico fought those who visited town to claim their property. This has so exasperated many of the settlers at the west, the article said, that they are determined to raise a force sufficient to overpower all opposition, and re capture their slaves at all hazards. This exasperation only fuels the grudge that Anglo Texans hold toward Mexico, and will add to slaveholders fears that their main source of labor and, by extension, income could escape their grasp so easily. • 47. The Language Of English As A Language English as a language has been designated as having a global ranking (Crystal 1997), (Northrup 2013), (Mckenzie 2010). A language that is deemed as having a global status is clarified by Crystal (2003, p.3) as one that achieves a genuinely global status when it develops a special role that is recognised in every country . Due to this prestigious standing that English has attained, it is unsurprising that many are keen to acquire it across the world. This is also supported by Wyse, Andrews and Hoffman (2010, P.398) who state English is much more favoured over the other official languages as a second language. As many learners are acquiring English in the context of a second or foreign language, the discussion over utilising the learner s first language in the process remains a contentious subject (Brown, 2000). This assignment will provide an overview of perceptions from differing approaches in regards to the use of the L1 in language education, along with arguments in support and against the same. Background of L1 in language teaching. The precise role that can be played by the learner s first language (L1) in the process of acquiring a second language has not been explicitly agreed upon. However, the issue of whether to utilise the L1 in the classroom has remained at the forefront in the English language teaching arena. Psychodynamics, in its broadest sense, is an approach to the study of human behavior that emphasizes the study and use of the psychological forces that underlie human behavior, feelings and emotions; how they relate to early childhood experiences . . .
