• Red Herrings
-when a person diverts the attention by raising irrelevant topics to capture the
person’s attraction
• Weak Analogy
-comparing two different thing that are not relevant
• Inappropriate Appeal to Authority
-An improper way of applying an authority to a saying which doesn’t even have a
relation to it.
• Appeal to Pity
-to raise the feeling of pity to convince someone with the conclusion.

- Wordings : *98.2 % positive results
• Analysis
- showing people wrong statistics
- it cannot capture attention of readers
• Solution
- adding customer’s feedback on product to ensure

• Identification
- Weak Analogy
- Why? It compares the weight between the helmet
and the magazine which is impossible
- Different type of things
• Analysis
- Showing people different type of things
- Cannot be compare with helmet and magazine
• Solution
- Changing two cyclist cycling together
- One with the helmet in the advertisement is cycling
very comfortably
- Another one wears a heavier helmet is very
exhausted when cycling

CONCLUSION
• We have learned that one should not use bad
arguments while producing an advertisement.
• We have learned that teamwork is very
important while doing group assignment.

the most important thing.

Introduction FALLACIES USED IN ASSIGNMENT : • Appeal to Popularity -Using the popularity of a premise as evidence for its truthfulness. • Red Herrings -when a person diverts the attention by raising irrelevant topics to capture the person’s attraction • Weak Analogy -comparing two different thing that are not relevant • Inappropriate Appeal to Authority -An improper way of applying an authority to a saying which doesn’t even have a relation to it. • Appeal to Pity -to raise the feeling of pity to convince someone with the conclusion.
  • 4. • Identification - Appeal to Popularity - Why ? Use percentage on advertisement. - Wordings : *98.2 % positive results • Analysis - showing people wrong statistics - it cannot capture attention of readers • Solution - adding customer’s feedback on product to ensure 100% correct information.

  • 14. CONCLUSION • We have learned that one should not use bad arguments while producing an advertisement. • We have learned that teamwork is very important while doing group assignment. • We have learned that time management is the most important thing.
