Essay on Respons to the case of contamination

The acceleration of globalization has raised issues culture conformity and diversity throughout the
world. These topics are argued drastically throughout the world. Apparently, issues relate to cultures
will not simply defined by right or wrong because each coins have two sides and every culture have
their own advantages and drawbacks. True, many people may claim that globalization has made this
world smaller and the distinctions between nations or cultures are disappearing. But personally, I
hold positive opinions about the cultural developments nowadays.
The unchangeable rule of the nature is survival of the fittest , which means, whatever species,
communities, nations or ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Apparently, the so called tradition, or convention, is not really easy or clear to define for the first
place. It seems like many innovation can become a tradition as time goes by. In this case, we
shouldn t deny the change or innovation in culture because we are really not sure if it is going to
thrive in the future.
Changes in cultures can sometimes help people to abandon old habits which are unfair, unhealthy
etc. In my opinion one of the major improvement is the shifted concept of gender equality. I
believe everyone is born equal, so I strongly support the idea that women deserve the right to
choose what they want and to abandon those conventional thinking. As is mentioned in the passage
I believe that women, like men, should have the vote, should be entitled to work outside their
homes, should be protected from the physical abuse of men, including their fathers, brothers and
husbands. Thanks to the improvements in culture, we can finally make some progresses on this
issue. And as more and more people have recognized the importance of women right problem, I
believe the absolute equality between men and women will sooner or later achieved. In the
passage, the author also mentioned the practice of foot binding in China , a rigid, insane and
harmful tradition that persisted for a thousand years and was largely eradicated within a generation.
This reminds me of some other

When Worlds Collide Essay
In the film When Worlds Collide , the answer to the question How did the American Indigenous
populations impact Spain (and vice versa)? was focused on the changes in wealth, class systems,
and the Spanish conquistadors intentions. The first topic covered in the film is how today s
America and today s world are heavily influenced by the culture, heritage, and history of the Mestizo
race and their Spanish counterparts. The video then explains that the Mestizo race came into
existence after the Spaniards had children with the Natives of the New World . Next, the film
highlights the differences between the cultures of the Spanish and the native indigenous peoples of
Mesoamerica. One of the differences between the two cultures was that the Mesoamericans had a
close relationship with nature, and it was that relationship that enabled them to discover things like

Queen Isabella of Spain had intended for her men to convert the natives patiently, and she wished

mission of the Spaniards. A few Spanish scholars kept written accounts of the injustices that the
natives came to suffer under the rule of the Spaniards, and the written pleas for the Spanish
monarchs to enact laws to protect the natives went through, but were ignored by new Spanish
royalty years later. This was the case for the mining of the silver mines, because the Spanish ruler
(at the time of the discovery of the mines), decided that the natives would have to mine due to the
Spanish and the Africans inability to brave the harsh terrain, despite the previous laws that forbode
the Spanish from using the natives as slave laborers. Unfortunately for the lower classes of natives,
the Spaniards did get their silver and the riches, connections, and reputations that went with the

Relative Reactivity Of Alkyl Halides
Relative Reactivity of Alkyl Halides in Nucleophilic Substitution Reactions
Charlie Doyle

Annie Chang
Introduction
Both Sn1 and Sn2 reactions are nucleophilic substitution reactions, though they are slightly
different. Sn2 reactions have bimolecular displacement and are also concerted, meaning the bond
making and the bond breaking processes happen in one step.1 Sn1 reactions require two steps and
have unimolecular displacement. This difference can be seen when comparing Figure 1 and Figure
2 below. The strength of the nucleophile does not effect Sn1 reactions, while the strongest
nucleophile is required for Sn2 substitution reactions.2 Other important considerations include the

Transformational Changes in Healthcare: Two Case Studies
The economic downturn has led healthcare organizations to think big changes. We understand that
all organizations experience micro changes in their normal adjustments to operating; however,
occasionally a unique climate comes together to force new ways of thinking. This new way of
thinking is usually a whole novel vision and an entire new direction which transforms the
organization. When successful, these organizations become a learning experience for other
organizations that perhaps need to make similar changes. This paper discusses two ... Show more

According to its website, Henry Ford Health System now manages six major hospitals with 102,000
inpatient admissions, over 80,000 surgeries, and 3.1 million patient contacts including outpatient (
Henry Ford Health Systems, 2010). Palm Drive Hospital in Sebastopol, California near Santa
Rosa opened in 1941 with 15 inpatient beds and later made expansions in 1974 and 1991 to reach
the current licensure for 37 beds. The small community governed non profit hospital is supported
by tax revenues and serves a community of about 8,000 people ( Palm Drive Hospital, 2010).
Both of these hospitals had community leaders who cared about their future and were willing to
invest community resources for a transformational change. During Valade s tenure as Chairman
of the Board at Henry Ford Health Systems, the Board of Directors invested over $1 billion
dollars in new innovated projects and expansions of their hospitals. Despite the poor economy, it
maintained its Standard and Poor s A rating and Moody s A1 rating, increased its market share by
37 percent since 2005 (Welch, 2009). Dan Smith, a community leader, was the director of strategic
planning in the community of Sebastopol, California. He noted that the hospital was on the brink
of total collapse being unable to pay its bills. His bank stepped in and guaranteed a loan of
$600,000 to the hospital (Hixon, 2008).

The Importance Of Arts Integration In Education
Arts integration is defined as the investigation of curricular content through artistic explorations. In
this process, the arts provide an avenue for rigorous investigation, representation, expression, and
reflection of both curricular content and the art form itself (as cited in Donovan Pascale, 2012, p.
14). As previously discussed, the arts are a boon to those who seek to make their curriculum design
more inclusive of all types of learners, and contributes to the social curriculum. Even beyond those
applications, arts integration can truly benefit all educators.
The arts teach a number of practical skills outside of the primary academic curriculum that teachers
are responsible for fostering. Notably, the four Cs (communication, collaboration, critical thinking
and creativity) of 21st century learning each work hand in hand with the arts. If we consider the
arts as modes of communication, we see that students are more clearly able to demonstrate learning,
ask questions, and connect with peers and teachers alike. The more languages a teacher can use,
the better chance he or she has to speak (and listen to) diverse students. We need many languages to
educate our children for their present and future lives (Powell, 1997, p. 5). Students who struggle
with traditional classroom languages may find themselves suddenly able to participate in a world
that was closed to them before. This is particularly important in health education, where the stakes
are immensely high and

The Lessons Learned From Park Play
Governments Are Overfunding Parks The lessons learned from park play are not comparable to
what sidewalk play has to offer. Learning Responsibility on City Sidewalks by Jane Jacobs opens
the reader s eyes on the benefits of simple street play. In her passage, Jane Jacobs compares the
more beneficial effects of sidewalk play compared to the overpraised parks. Jacobs tells us that
parks don t build a stronger form of morality and help with developing more knowledge on city life
like sidewalk play do. Parkchildren are given less of a chance to visually learn how to become
well rounded citizens in society from adults around them. Parks are not as amazing as they re
believed to be from the public. They do not offer the many chances to learn compared to what
sidewalk interactions have to offer. Plus, the playgrounds do not have enough adults to actually
watch over and teach children the good and the bad. Playgrounds are built for the concept of
having fun, but they do not guide and raise children to be good citizens. I believe that
government should not heavily fund parks because parks do not revere the essential teachings
needed in society such as social abilities. I believe that instead of overfunding parks we could
benefit more by having the government actually invest more in club sports because I think club
teams open up more of an opportunity for people to develop their social skills, instead of playing in
a park. Club sports are provided in many cities but each one I

Comparing The Fall Of The House Of Usher And Ligeia
The Fall of the House of Usher, The Murders in the Rue Morgue, and Ligeia, there was an affinity
between the many characters of each one of the stories. There were also many other analogies in
the books so far as a situation, plot, setting, etc. In the story The Murders of the Rue Morgue, which
is a very mysterious story, the main action commences when the narrator and another man named
C. Auguste Dupin meet together because they are seeking for the same book at an ambiguous
library in Rue Montmartre. The two men read about a murderin a newspaper headline, then one
night they re staying at a hotel and hear a shriek from about the fourth floor above them in which
they call the cops in backlash to that. Once the cops had broken into the apartment, for the door
was locked, they found what seemed to be a murder scene for all of the blood and the hair on the
floor.
The police officers and the other two men react to the scene of what seems to be death by acting
concerned about finding what had happened and who it had happened to and who committed the
crime. In the story The Fall of the House of Usher it all starts with the character under the name
Roderick approaching a house which seems to be described as an evil feeling, for it is in a type of

honest people fairly unexpectedly for most reactions to death that are seen in the modern day.
Edgar Allan Poe s stories usually included death, which I kinda found weird but it continues to

The Effect of Respect on Morality Depicted in The Guest...
The prevailing theme in The Guest and Shooting an Elephant is the effect of respect on morality.
In the former, the main character Daru exhibits a great deal of respect and hospitality to the Arab,
especially considering the circumstances. In the latter, the Burmans exhibit no respect to the police
officer in the event of the elephant display, or in his day to day life. These opposite scenarios have
a distinct effect on the moralityof the main characters. Respect has a distinct effect on morality
which differs depending on if respect is being strived for or shown.
The British police officer in Shooting an Elephant had never been respected by the Burman
natives a day in his life. He was regularly mocked and cheated, even by the religious ... Show more

The police officer s need for the brief sustenance that comes with finally being respected which
caused him to turn his back on his beliefs is proof of our sad human nature. By buying into the
moral of this story and following your morality, one will not end up remorseful about the morals
that one has neglected to follow.
In The Guest, the main character Daru is also put in a moral conflict. Although he evades said
conflict by giving the Arab his own choice of punishment or freedom, his underlying respect and
hospitality causes his guest to deliver himself unto the hands of his enemy. Because of the
hospitality that Daru shows the Arab, he feels obligated to do the moral thing and serve his
sentence. He condemns himself to prison at the hands of the French the same way that a person,
working for a generous manager who continually cheers him on despite his repeated failures, will
always try his best to improve his work. Although this is an extreme case of said example, they both
demonstrate the power of respect, hospitality, and generosity on morality, and that an input of
goodness leads to an output of the same.
When morality is positively influenced by respect, positive morals are demonstrated, and when
influenced negatively, the opposite is resultantly true. Using examples in The Guest, and Shooting
an Elephant, human nature displays its bittersweet edge. In The Guest, Daru s prevailing respect to
the Arab drives him to

Essay On Paul Farmer As A Hero In Mountains Beyond Mountains
When someone imagines a hero they usually think of a person that has superpowers or a famous
person that made an impact on society and mass amount of people. But a hero can be as simple as
someone who helps others and in the eyes of others is looked up to. In Mountains Beyond
Mountains by Tracy Kidder, Paul Farmera doctor, is this hero. His beliefs and ideas impacts the
lives of many and his actions help many people around him. His commitment to the long defeat is
what helps Farmer in his decision making to treat patients and win.
Throughout his time helping others Farmers always refers to this term long defeat. This term
means that there might be a impossible goal that is trying to be reached but it is wrong to give up
or should not be given up so easily. It is easy to let it go and face the facts the facts that nothing
can be done but one should not do this just because they want to win.

goal many gave up and blame others. Famer says I have fought the long defeat and brought other

The Pros And Cons Of The NFL As A NFL
Professional football is known to dominate all other American sports. Prime time football is an
essential part of American culture. Each year anticipation for the start of the new season builds
as dedicated fans eagerly await for game time. People can t help but love the high energy and
intensity each game provides. Once a favorite team is picked, fans follow the season in hopes
that their team makes big at the Super Bowl. Whether going to experience a game in person or
being able to watch it on T.V the love people have for football is evident. The National Football
Leagues popularity draws in the largest amount of fans who fill stadiums to full capacity and even
more viewers who watch the broadcasts. The NFL is a huge market that many consider displaying
monopoly power. I believe that the NFL is indeed a monopoly due to the lack of competition
/substitutes at that level, the high barriers to entry, and their economies of scale.
Since the formation of the NFL, numerous football leagues have attempted to compete for control
over the professional football market. The National Football League has successfully been able to
eliminate their rivals from the market. In 1926, the American Football League (1st AFL) merged
called it quits after not making enough profits. In 1937, the American Football League (2nd AFL)
stopped its league after having reached limited audiences. In 1942, the American Football
League (3rd AFL) permanently discontinued their league due to the toll of World War II. In
1947, the World Football League (WFL) ceased to exist because of being in a smaller market and
not having enough money. In 1949, the All American Football Conference (AAFC) became
incapable of maintaining its league as a result of the direct competition it faced from the NFL.
During this time period, professional football had a relatively small market. The minimal number
of attendees, as well as financial problems, caused the AAFC to merge with the NFL. The All
American Football Conference willingly handed over the Cleveland Browns, the San Francisco
49ers, and the Indianapolis Colts (formerly the Baltimore Colts) to the National Football League. In
1970, the All American Football League (final AFL) and the National

A hero is defined as a person who is admired for great or brave acts or fine qualities (Merriam

Joseph Campbell, however, is less sexist and defines a hero as someone who makes a sacrifice in
order to complete an action. Martin Luther King Jr. sacrificed his life and his family s life while he
was marching the streets against the discrimination of African Americans. Benefitting from his
actions and sacrifice is every colored person in America at that time and since. Martin Luther King

From the years 1995 through 2003, I was an Air Force medic stationed in Germany. For the first
five years I was an Airman at the 86 Aeromedical Staging Facility (ASF). Our mission at the ASF
was to transport patients back and forth from the flight line as they traveled to and from their

Qualitative Design Paper
14
The vital methodological approach for this study is on qualitative intrinsic case study research. It
is imperative to note that even though all parts of the research design are connected, the
connections are not inflexible. The rubber band analogy, as put forward by Maxwell, tries to
expound vividly a qualitative design as something that is considerably flexible but there are
constraints caused by different parts one onto another. If these constrains are in anyway
compromised, they may result in the design being ineffective (Maxwell, 2005, p.6).
The qualitative research serves to comprehend and explain on what a participant means (Morrow,
2005). In a more elaborate manner, Creswell (1998) defines qualitative research to be an analytical

There are four major reasons for using interviewing as the primary data source for this study. First
is that in order to study people?s perception of the meaning in their lived world, it would be
appropriate to use qualitative (Kvale, 1996, p. 105). Secondly, interviewing plays a critical role in
finding out what is going on another individual?s mind. Patton goes on to explain that interviewing
someone aids in finding out words from their mouths that cannot be (Patton, 2002). Thirdly,
Merriam (2002) acknowledges that qualitative interviews culminate in thick descriptions of the
subject matter, which enables readers to make decisions about transferability of study results.
Conclusively, credibility of the findings is increased as a result of the triangulation of information
obtained from other (Merriam, 2002; Stake, 1995). Interviewing previous Upward Bound ELL

The Importance Of Queer Identity In The LGBT Community
I am extremely lucky to have had the opportunity to come to terms with much of my identity
before heading to college. However, some of my residents might not have had that opportunity and
I d love to create programs to allow for that questioning and affirmation to occur. With regard to my
own identity, I know seeing queerrepresentation in the media was a step towards finding out my
own queer identity. For a program, I could work with another member of the LGBTcommunity or
even another marginalized group, such as a person of color, to watch content featuring individuals
who unapologetically embrace their identity. Afterwards, the RA s could facilitate a conversation
about the content and the identities featured (with snacks of course). Many people might not be
comfortable with talking about their identity point blank and therefore the content allows for an
introduction to the conversation. Overall, I want to create an environment where discovering the
different aspects of your identity is encouraged and accepted by all.
From previous experience, I ve learned that the best way to create connections with residents is to
integrate yourself into their college experience. Whether it is saying hi in the elevators, in the halls,
or in common organizations, these types of interactions will foster closer and more open
relationships with residents. For most college students, moving away to college is the first time
they will be separated from their parents. Given that you are now

Abortion In Alabama

Life is so beautiful and sweet until it ends. In America, abortions clinics are gradually closing their
doors even though the United States is of the few nations to endorse abortions. Abortions are
normally performed during the 1st trimester of a woman s pregnancy and abortion laws are varied
from state to state (Alabama Policy). Abortion is also one of the biggest and most controversial
debate about exterminating an unborn life in a mother s womb and determining whether its ethical
or unethical. In 1973, the United States Supreme Court legalized abortions throughout every state

and silent tears. For years, women have gone through society being denied their civil rights and they

by what the firm makes it. We did not ask for electricity, but we got it anyway. Now, most people
would not even dare to live without it. Although many would disagree with Dr. Deming and say
that it would be more beneficial for the company to be in a market with no strong competitors, Dr.
Deming would agree with that statement. It would be good for the company but for the economy

Great White Shark Informative Speech
They have 300 serrated teeth, a torpedo shaped body and swallow their prey whole. Can anyone
one tell me what sea creature this is? Yes. It s the Great White Shark.
Introduction:
Hey everyone, I m Nino and today I will informing you all about the most fierce and feared
predator in the sea. In this speech I will be discussing the evolution, the physiology, its ecological
niche and propose a postulate for the future health and survival of the Great White Shark. The Great
White is scientifically known as the Carcharodon carcharias and is considered a carnivorous killing
machine which is at the top of its food chain. This fish has been around for hundreds of millions of
years and its evolution has enabled it to develop some extraordinary abilities ... Show more content

The Great White is ovoviviparous, which mean that the shark grows in an egg which is then
hatched inside the mother. Once the shark pup is born it stays in the womb for a short period of
time where the embryos feed on unfertilized eggs which is referred to as oophagy. The gestation
period is the time that the eggs are in the womb until they hatch which is estimate to around 12
to 18 months. Lastly, is the litter size which ranges vastly for the Great White from two to ten
pups. The new born measures to 5 feet (1.5 metres) and weighing 77 pounds (35Kg). However,
the reason as to why the Great White doesn t breed as fast as other animals is because they have a
slow growth rate to maturity and a low reproductive rate which is a worry for the survival of its
kind in the future as they only live up to the age of 30 years old.
Population:
The estimation of the Great Whites Shark is set to be estimated at 2000 however recent studies
indicate that this number has decreased by 50 % and the already threatened species is closer to
extinction that was hoped for. To prevent this animal for becoming extinct a number of countries
have vowed to protect the Great White Shark and they are South Afric, Namibia, USA, Australia
and Malta.

A Rose For Emily Symbolism
William Faulkner s classic short story A Rose for Emily is the somewhat disturbing tale of
Emily Grierson and her strange life. Split into five parts, the story flashes back and forth
between Emily s funeral and memories of Emily from the viewpoint of the unknown narrator.
The narrator remembers times when Emily refused to pay taxes, and another time when men
went and put lime on Emily s yard because her house smelled so awful. When Emily s father
died, it took three days for her to stop denying his death and let him be buried. The summer after
her father s death, A Yankee named Homer Barron started seeing Emily, which was a big deal
because her father had never let her date. One day, Emily went to a druggist and bought arsenic
with no explanation, and the town thought she was going to kill herself. However, she did not,
and the townspeople even assumed she and Homer got married, but they never saw him again. It
was not until Emily died, and they felt enough time had passed, that the people broke down one
of her doors that had been unopened for forty years. They found the decaying body of Homer
Barron laying in the bed, along with a strand of Emily s gray hair on the pillow beside him.
Although the story may just sound like a gruesome tale of a woman with necrophilia, there can be
other meanings found through symbolism. A symbol creates a direct, meaningful connection
between a specific object, scene, character, or action. In A Rose for Emily, Emily can be seen as a

Health Education Controversy
One issue that is currently causing a big debate in my school district is health education. Just this
year, the school district has approved that sex education must be taught in all schools and is not
optional. Many parents thought they would be able to decline the sex education classes; however,
the classes were included in the curriculum of health education. As a result, every student must take
all of the sex education classes because they are listed within the health education curriculum. In
addition, the school board has also voted and approved that students 7th grade and above will also
be educated on gender identity and transgender issues (Shapiro, 2015). This particular topic or
debate has been going on for the past couple of years.

Gyre 2009 By Chris Jordan
An artist by the name of Chris Jordan, leaves hidden messages to his viewers through his
artwork. In his piece entitled Gyre 2009 , his spinoff of the original image The Great Wave Off
Kanagawa by a Japanese artist, Hokusai, Jordan displays the ocean and pollution within it. The
image delivers a strong message of how us humans mistreat the environment, specifically our
oceans which take up 70% of the world we live in. Jordan provides insight into how millions of
pieces of plastic waste are sitting in our oceans today. This information is saddening in the aspect
of how negligent humans are in the treatment of the planet and our ecosystem. Jordan has named
his work Gyre to reference the Pacific Gyre, which is the largest ecosystem on earth

Screwtape Writes To Wormword Summary
Chapter I 7/1/15 Screwtape writes to Wormword and the first thing that stood out to me was the
chain of reasoning. I had to go back and read this sentence plenty of times to begin to understand
what he meant. We as Christians today deal with this reasoning as something that we have done
wrong. The more we think we do wrong, the chain of effects and consequences get bigger. I
believe this statement is a preface to the question Why do bad things happen to good people? For
example if a person stole a candy bar from a gas station, they might think they got away with it, and
no one caught them. If Karma truly existed, something might get stolen from that person. That
person would get mad, and a chain of reasoning would begin. Later... Show more content on

According to Screwtape that question has been answered by the High Command. He says that for
the moment their policy is to conceal themselves from their patients. Screwtape introduces a
dilemma. When humans disbelieve in our existence we lose all the pleasing results of direct
terrorism and we make no magicians. On the other hand, when they believe in us, we cannot make
them materialists and sceptics. Obliviously this situation has become a big problem for demons
like Screwtape. In a human doesn t believe that a demon is causing them pain and suffering, then
the demon doesn t take as much pleasure for doing something. If I do something good I know that
I would like to be rewarded or acknowledged for something even if that is not having the Servants
heart that God wants us to have. On the flipside if a person knew there was a demon doing all of
these terrible and unthinkable things to them, they would know that all bad things would come
from demons. It is like a surprise birthday party. If you know that your good group of friends is
throwing you a surprise party, you won t enjoy it as much if you had no idea about it. What I
want to know is why Wormword would want to reveal himself to his patient? I really cant figure
out any positives about it besides, the person knowing who is ruining their life is a

I strongly agree with the legalization of the gay marriages in many of the societies even though it
is a subject that elicits mixed reactions and opposition from some quarters. The utilitarianism
approach that seeks to establish whether the end justifies the means can be applied whereby the
benefits of such legalization and the disadvantages are compared. When gay marriages are

Opponents such include religion, which argues that marriage is a sacred institution to be shared

Research Paper On Corinthians
1) The divine human Son of God was fulfilling the will of God for his life even as he worked in
the carpenter shop with Joseph. Every person is not to be a pastor, missionary, or evangelist (in
the professional sense of those words). Work that provides for the needs of humanity, aids others,
helps others fulfill their potential, and any other positive roll are means by which one can work for
God. If everyone was a pastor, where would all those preachers buy food, what would they eat,
and who would drive the trucks that brings it to them (this broadly applies I Corinthians 12:17).

Andy s Gift Essay
Andy s Gift
No matter who you are, the world won t stop existing if you disappear. Your beloved ones will
just learn to live without you. Andy s Gift , written by Michel Faber in 2001, tells a story about
how hard it can be to return to normality, when you ve been cut off from the outside world for so
long. The world is constantly changing and if you re not there, it s just too bad, the lives of
everyone else s will continue. That is what happens for the protagonist Andrew. Occasionally he d
peek out at the world, and for his peek hole he d use the shrieking idiot the nursing staff called

For 5 years, Andrew has been trapped in the body of a shrieking idiot called Andy. Finally, a
miracle happens and he breaks free. He gets to be Andrew again, but there s a problem. His wife
has changed, she is no longer the woman he married, his oldest son doesn t seem excited about his
return and his two youngest kids think the madman Andy, is better at howling.
In the beginning, the story takes place at a nursing home. Andrew wakes up in an institutional
pyjama and is greeted by an old man, who s sitting in the bed right next to him.
When Andrew answers back, it is to the old man s surprise. Ha! Good for you, Andy boy! said his
neighbour, as if impressed. (p. 1, l. 11) The nurse who s arriving next doesn t believe the old man...

Panda Persuasive Speech
Have you ever heard of an Ailuropoda Melanoleuca? Most likely not, but I bet you have heard of
a panda bear. Both are correct ways of recognizing the animal, one just sounds a little fancier. The
panda bear has been around for approximately three million years and we are still learning new
things about them all the time. Pandas may seem like very boring creatures because of their lack
of activity during their lifetimes, but they are actually extremely fascinating and not to mention
very adorable. We ve all had a time where we ve seen a cute, little, baby panda at the zoo and
thought, I want one! . There are so many interesting facts about pandas that everyone should know.

The population of pandas has been decreasing rapidly since 1990. Habitat loss and poaching are
the two major reasons for the pandas becoming on the brink of extinction. Humans have been
destroying the forests in which pandas live for decades now, causing them to have to relocate to
regions they were not familiar with. Losing their natural habitat meant that they also lost their
main food source. Pandas would starve causing hundreds to die. The loss of their home also left
them extremely vulnerable to predators in the new area. All of the little effects of pandas losing
their habitat are what caused a major drop in their population. The second biggest reason for the
decline in their population is poaching. Hunters and poachers target pandas mainly for their big
fur coats. Poaching is illegal everywhere and is a big reason for population decrease for other
animals as well. The third reason for the drop in pandas is their inability to reproduce quickly.
The female pandas are only fertile once a year for a period of two or three days. They usually
only have one pup and that pup stays with the mother for at least two years. After that, the panda
is on its own. However, female pandas only need to be about 5 years old before they can start
reproducing, but the catch is males have to be about 7 years old. The demand for baby pandas is
extremely high so that the population to grow, but the time it takes to do so is hurting the
population more. With all that said, the population of the panda bear is decreasing faster than it is
increasing, which is a major problem that many organizations are working to figure out a

Oak Industries Case Sample Answers
Oak Industries, Inc. Case sample answer
1. Is it unethical for a company to intentionally understate its earnings? Why or why not?
Yes, it is clearly unethical to intentionally understate earnings since the management makes
representations that the financial statements are complete and accurate. It is obvious that
intentionally understating earnings is done to allow the company to later overstate earnings by
using falsified reserves to cover the inadequate current period earnings. These manipulations and
misrepresentations do not allow fair comparisons of the results of operations between years. In this

The controller should have refused to comply with the demands of the executives and should have

The Destructive Nature Of Technology In Fahrenheit 451 By...
Technology is both a miracle and a disaster in society today. New improvements have allowed
children to be safer physically now more than ever, allowing parents to know where they are 24/7.
However, studies have been shown that their mental state is in decline the addiction to devices is
driving a separation between teens and their friends, forcing them into a deep depression,
subsequently provoking a rise in self harm rates. Ray Bradburys novel, Fahrenheit 451written in
1953, gives us a glimpse into the future in order to display the screen obsessed and censorship
filled society in which the main character, Montag lives. Bradbury was able to predict technological
advancements and their destructive effects on future civilization including screen addiction, loss of
personal connections, and the depersonalization of war.
The author, Ray Bradbury, was able to predict the destructive nature of technology today, by
exploiting the screen addicted characters within his novel. One character that perfectly conveys
a clear obsession with technology is Mildred. She spends her days entranced in the pretty colors
of her 3 walled television; she still yearns for more by asking her husband for another screen and
justifies herself by saying, It s only two thousand dollars...If we had a fourth wall, why it d be
just like this room wasn t ours at all, but all kinds of exotic people s rooms. (18). Mildred greatly

Different Methods For Retrieving And Analysing Different...
In this report I will be discussing how businesses firstly identify different methods for retrieving
and analysing different types of information and then secondly looking at how businesses
recognise the legal and security implications of handling and managing information and data. I
will be providing a multiple of examples from businesses to back up my points and in particular
be looking into Tesco Plc as my main business. Firstly I will begin with talking about a
transaction processing system, or its shortened possibly more common name, TPS, which is a
very common type of system to store and analyse detailed information a business collects which
is necessary to update data on the fundamental operations of an organisation with Tesco being the
leading supermarket in the UK. For instance in terms of Tesco, a single store can carry thousands
of different items and then throughout the day, many types of customers come into the store and
doing so, select a product and pay for it at the checkout counter or one o0f the new self service
machines. This leads to members of staff to continuously take items from the stock room and
placing them back on the shelves when a particular item has been selected and taken away with a
paying customer. This then leads to stocks running low and new shipments being ordered. There
are other factors such as exchanges when customers aren t happy which the same applies.
Information Retrieval Information retrieval is vital for businesses as it is the

Informative Essay About Themed Consumer Environment
Themed Consumer Environment Analysis I have not been to many themed environments in my
lifetime for many reasons including financial, time, and travel constraints as well as the fact that
my family hold the belief that we dont need to go anywhere grand to have a good time. The
emphasis has always been placed on simplicity and quality time spent with family and friends.
We used to go snow skiing many years ago so my recollection is hazy. We go camping every
summer which is almost the opposite of a consumer environment. However, a couple of years ago,
for my mother s birthday, we did manage to make a trip to Arlington, Texas to watch a Texas
Ranger baseballgame. This is a huge consumer environment which correlates well with
everything I have read and learned during this course and so it will be the focus of this analysis.
The 270 acre Globe Life Park in Arlington which opened in April of 1994, was a successor of the
Arlington Stadium which closed that same year. I vaguely remember going to the old one a
couple years before it closed. With the new park, the capacity increased by about 6,000 and many
more areas were made available for shops, restaurants, new technology, suites, and other means of
consumption. As George Ritzer details modern athletic facilities further in A Tour of the New
Means of Consumption, Although these stadiums often resemble earlier versions and even seek to
copt them in many ways, they also have a number of innovations. For example, they all

contact with the shoppers and take on the role of a participant observer, the true intentions of the
parent for purchasing the toys alongside whether or not the relationship between a certain adult and
child were that of a parent and child were left unknown to me. I was lead to make inferences based
upon their behavioral patterns that the relationship between certain individuals were that of parent
and child due to my ideological bias concerning what a paternal/maternal relationship looks like. I
had assumed due to my personal bias towards parents, that the parent in the situation was bargaining
with their child , as throughout my adolescent years while babysitting my younger cousins, I had
used a method similar to the one that I had observed from the parents in order to keep my cousins
in check. This particular example shows my attempt at making a sound analysis of the situations
that I had observed, however, leaned further on the side of a descriptive inference due to the
conclusions that I had formed surrounding the relationship between individuals and the reasoning
behind their

The Role Of Catherine Martin In The Great Gatsby
As for costuming in The Great Gatsby, Catherine Martin was challenged with outfitting a huge
cast. When Baz Luhrmann first decided to adapt F. Scott Fitzgerald s The Great Gatsbyfor the
screen nine years ago, no one was less enthusiastic about the venture than the filmmaker s wife
and longtime production and costume designer, Catherine Martin. As an Australian teenager, I
really did not connect with the book, Martin admitted to us. I said to Baz, Why would you want
to do that novel?! It s so boring! Baz Luhrmann convinced her to re read the book and then Martin
became the books biggest fan. There was one line in particular that inspired her visually. I love the
phrase that [narrator] Nick [Carraway] says: I began to like New York,

My First Year As Camp Director
I established a repport and friendship with many of the campers, and especially the counselors.
And this was only my first year as camp director! This was the group of youth that made me realize
that they have such an influence on the younger youth. I was able to see the campers imitate and
follow their counselors. I am excited to put my plans into motion for next summer. The feelings I
have for the youthI have gotten to know over the past year and a half is outrageous. I have so
much pride in them. They are truly amazing individuals. I have seen so much improvement in
them that now I can also see exponential potential in them also. It has only been one complete 4
H year and I cannot even imagine how I will feel five, 10 or 20 years from now. This gives me
the inspiration and motivation to work hard for these youth. I have assigned several roles to
myself to support the growth of older youth in my county and region. I will be a mentor, a friend,
a leader and motivator. I have an advantage when it comes to youth adult partnerships; my age can
dismantle the intimidating authority figure some older youth may see. Our generations, Y
(individuals born in 1981 through 1994) and Z (individuals born after 1994) (Schuckenbrock,
2016), may even overlap some (Geck, 2016). The years to determine Generations X, Y and Z tend
to change according to different sources. At the least, there may only be an 11 year difference
between myself and a youth in their final

Reasons Why Basketball Is The Best Sport
Many people believe that basketball and football can be the best sports in the world. Basketball can
be known as the best sport because it s played all over the world and tons of people like to play
/watch it. For football tons of people love to play the sport and tons of people like to watch
football every Sunday. In my opinion, I think baseballis clearly the best sport in the world. The
great sport of baseball was invented in 1839 in a town called Cooperstown, New York. Many of
you might know that this is now where the MLB hall of fame is located at and this is a great
tourist destination. Once the sport was founded here it started to branch out all over the country
and even some parts of the world. Now it s played in almost every single country in the entire
world. It s crazy how a sport like baseball can be played all around the world and rapidly grow that
fast. In all sports getting injured is always a possibility. In football and basketballACL injuries are
the most common injuries that a player can get. Also in football, there s now a growing concern
over CTE problems which is concussions to the head. This is very scary for most players and
now players are starting to retire for this reason. In the MLB, the only concern of injuries is
really in their arm and a player can almost guarantee a return at some point. So, my point is that
MLB doesn t have as many injuries as the other sports do so this attracts more players. Baseball is
the easiest sport to just pick up

Spoon River Poem Theme
(Discussion on theme people often sleep with the enemy in Spoon River Anthology ) Creative
title (will come back when feeling creative) For reasons unknown the people of Spoon River
have continued to make the same mistake over, and over, and over again. The people of Spoon
River have a nasty habit of sleeping with the enemy. That is to say they surround themselves with
those that seek to harm them, both mentally and physically. Some examples of this sort of
behavior is Loise Smith, Dora Williams, and Nellie Clark. Loise Smith for instance was dropped
by her husband for another women. Dora Williams married three times before meeting her end at
the hands of a lover. Nellie Clark was sexually abused at a young age, this haunted her for the...

Dora Williams was thrown away like old trash by Reuben Pantier so to recover from the hurt she
ran away to Springfield. In Springfield she met a newly rich man whose father had just died and
left his money for his son. They were married and he was found dead a year later. She received
the very money that was passed down to him, with this money she ran away to New York. Once
there, she met an older man who fell instantly for her. He died suddenly in her arms one night.
She again earned a large sum of money. From there she moved on to Paris. In Paris she met a
count Navigato, they were married and then moved to Rome. In Rome the repetition was
brought to a screeching halt. In Rome Dora was poisoned by the very man she married. We went
to Rome. He poisoned me, I think. These were the exact words Dora used in her epitaph. The
count Navigato poisoned Dora. In remembrance of Dora the words Contessa Navigato Implora
eternal quiete, were chiseled in the Campo Santo overlooking the sea. Dora Williams spent so
much of her life having men fall for her, that she never expected to be killed by one of them. Dora
Williams slept with the enemy and payed with her

Maleficent Theme
In the movie Maleficent, the audience comes to their own opinions about the main character
Maleficent in the film. This film also features characters like Aurora, Stefan, and Diaval which
allows the audience to see her different sides and views of good and evil through other characters
perceptions of Maleficent. This is seen throughout the film and can be seen with her relationship
between King Stefan and his daughter Aurora along with her servant Diaval. There is no easy way
to define the line between good evil. This is an overarching theme throughout the movie
Maleficent because there are different opinions on these 3 characters and the other background
characters in the film. In the first scene of the movie, we see Maleficent as a good child who is
seen as the strongest of the fairies in this film. When we see her and how the other characters
from the Moors the mythical area in which Maleficent lives, see her as a good, nice, playful, and
very fair person who looks over the Moors and those who live in it. Stefan, in the beginning,
allows ourselves as the audience to see an, even more, a clearer picture of Maleficent and how
good and magnificent she is however from what he does later in the movie to Maleficent
changes how we see her and perceive is good or evil of her. It is seen throughout this film
Maleficent isn t purely evil nor purely good. Sending the message that people are made to be both
good and evil. Trying to define good and evil is like trying to

Syrian Civil War Essay
ECPSC 2013
CURRENT AFFAIRS HANDOUT 11
SYRIAN CIVIL WAR
Gen
1.The Syrian civil war also commonly known as the Syrian uprising is an ongoing armed conflict
in Syria between forces loyal to the Syrian Baath Party government and those seeking to oust it.
The conflict began on 15 March 2011, with popular demonstrations that grew nationwide by April
2011. These demonstrations were part of the wider Middle Eastern protest movement known as the
Arab Spring. Protesters demanded the resignation of President Bashar al Assad, whose family has
held the presidency in Syria since 1971, as well as the end to over four decades of Baath Party rule.
In April 2011, the Syrian Army was deployed to quell the uprising. After months of military sieges,

comprises an estimated 12 percent of the total Syrian population generating resentment among some
Sunni Muslims, a sect that makes up about three quarters of Syria s population.

World Opinion
6.The Arab League, United States, European Union, Arab States of the Persian Gulf, and other
countries condemned the use of violence against the protesters. The Arab League suspended
Syria s membership because of the government s response to the crisis, but granted the Syrian
National Coalition, Syria s seat on 6 March 2013. The Arab League also sent an observer mission
in December 2011, as part of its proposal for peaceful resolution of the crisis.
7.A further attempt to resolve the crisis was made through the appointment of Kofi Annan as a
special envoy. On 15 July 2012, the International Committee of the Red Cross assessed the Syrian
conflict as a non international armed conflict (the ICRC s legal term for civil war), thus applying
international humanitarian law under the Geneva Conventions to Syria.
Current Situation
8.On 2 January 2013, the United Nations stated that the war s death toll had exceeded 60,000; on
12 February, this figure was updated to 70,000. According to various opposition activist groups,
between 62,550 and 74,470 people have been killed, of which about half were civilians, and also

Pricing yourself in the market is important. Many pros complain people give their images away
and devalue the market. I am always interested in what companies are willing to pay for. I often
consult with professionals before I sell images to magazines.
Where do you do most of your work?
The majority of my work is done in UK waters. I live and work in the UK so it makes sense to take
advantage of all the area has to offer. I do work overseas periodically, but I prefer cooler climates.
One goal I have is to dive under sea ice in the Arctic, or Antarctic.
What do you enjoy most about this type of photography?
Being underwater is like no other environment, there s no distraction with mobile phones, and
people talking. I like the challenge of being able to dive in harsh environments and show people
the beauty, especially in the UK, as many feel it s often dark and gloomy and there s no colour.
What is the most important thing to remember to get a good image?
The single most important element in getting a good underwater picture is to get close to your
subject, generally a maximum of three feet for most subjects, sometimes inches away. It depends on
the size of the subject you are shooting. Obviously a 30 foot basking shark is different than a one
inch shrimp. The other thing is all about understanding light, whether you are using artificial light,,
or natural light, or balancing the two. The

The Many Accomplishments of Sacajawea
Sakakawea or Sacajawea was a Lemhi Shoshone woman, who is well famed for Leading Lewis
and Clark on their famous expedition to find the Pacific Ocean through the Western United
States, acting as an interpreter and guide. She traveled thousands of miles from North Dakota to
the Pacific Ocean between 1804 and 1806, while bearing child in her womb. The National
American Woman Suffrage Association of the early twentieth century adopted her as the
symbol of women s worth and independence, erecting several statues, and plaques in her memory,
and doing much to spread the story of her accomplishments. Born in 1788, probable early 1790
s, in what is now known as the state of Idaho, she was born into an Agaidika, or Salmon Eater,
tribe of Lemhi Shoshone between Kenny Creek and Agency Creek. She was one of the Snake
People or Shodhone. Her name in Hidasta was Tsi ki ka wi as, Bird Woman . In Shoshone, her
name means Boat Pusher. In 1800, when she was roughly twelve years old, she and several other
girls were kidnapped during a raid by the Hidasta tribe, (also known as Minnentarees) in a battle
that resulted in the death among the Shoshone of four men, four women, and several boys.
Sacagaweaand the other kidnapped girls were taken captive to the Hidasta village near present day
Bismark, North Dakota, and Washburn North Dakota. Some time afterward, the French Canadian
fur trader Toussaint Charbonneau took thirteen year old Sacagawea and another young Shoshone

The Mining Act 1990
The Mining Act, 1990, has a significant role in protecting Ontario s vast mineral resources and
brings forth a set of policies in which promote responsible mining development and extraction. The
provincial government plays an integral role in the provinces mining industry because the Act
requires that all mineralclaims must be recorded and accepted by the Crown which from then the
two parties discuss a lease fee for the mineral rights. After locating a mineral claim in an area
deemed open by the Crown, there are two options available for leases, the first being The holder of
a miningclaim may elect to apply for a lease of the mining rights only. (Government of Ontario,
2017), while the second option allows both the surface rights and... Show more content on

In 2009, the passing of Bill 173, also known as the Mining Amendment Act brought forth various
changes that were created with the input of representatives from the mining industry, environmental
groups, municipalities, private citizens, and Aboriginal communities (Pratt Smitherman, 2009). The
discussions between the government and these groups helped lead to the implementation of new
regulations that promote mineral exploration and development in a manner that recognizes
Aboriginal and treaty rights.
The Mining Act does a very good job at protecting certain aspects of the environment such as
ensuring that over exploitation of minerals does not occur, or making it mandatory to have a plan
in place for closing the mine as well as assuring that there is money to do so. Although there are
many things that this Act does right, there are also areas in which there are issues and should be
improved. One of the first issues pertaining to this Act is the impact that it fails to mitigate
regarding water quality. In areas where mining development occurs, the water quality is drastically
affected and a study found that water from waste rock piles has an ionic profile distinct from
unimpacted catchments (Carey, Wellen, Shatilla, 2015), meaning that in order to mitigate the
impact of the runoff measures must be put in place to limit it. Secondly, the Act does not involve

Essay on Respons to the case of contamination Lechuan Zhao Professor Ahuja ENGL 1004 Sept 16 2014 The acceleration of globalization has raised issues culture conformity and diversity throughout the world. These topics are argued drastically throughout the world. Apparently, issues relate to cultures will not simply defined by right or wrong because each coins have two sides and every culture have their own advantages and drawbacks. True, many people may claim that globalization has made this world smaller and the distinctions between nations or cultures are disappearing. But personally, I hold positive opinions about the cultural developments nowadays. Apparently, the so called tradition, or convention, is not really easy or clear to define for the first place. It seems like many innovation can become a tradition as time goes by. In this case, we shouldn t deny the change or innovation in culture because we are really not sure if it is going to thrive in the future. Changes in cultures can sometimes help people to abandon old habits which are unfair, unhealthy etc. In my opinion one of the major improvement is the shifted concept of gender equality. I believe everyone is born equal, so I strongly support the idea that women deserve the right to choose what they want and to abandon those conventional thinking. As is mentioned in the passage I believe that women, like men, should have the vote, should be entitled to work outside their homes, should be protected from the physical abuse of men, including their fathers, brothers and husbands. Thanks to the improvements in culture, we can finally make some progresses on this issue. And as more and more people have recognized the importance of women right problem, I believe the absolute equality between men and women will sooner or later achieved. In the passage, the author also mentioned the practice of foot binding in China , a rigid, insane and harmful tradition that persisted for a thousand years and was largely eradicated within a generation. This reminds me of some other ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. When Worlds Collide Essay In the film When Worlds Collide , the answer to the question How did the American Indigenous populations impact Spain (and vice versa)? was focused on the changes in wealth, class systems, and the Spanish conquistadors intentions. The first topic covered in the film is how today s America and today s world are heavily influenced by the culture, heritage, and history of the Mestizo race and their Spanish counterparts. The video then explains that the Mestizo race came into existence after the Spaniards had children with the Natives of the New World . Next, the film highlights the differences between the cultures of the Spanish and the native indigenous peoples of Mesoamerica. One of the differences between the two cultures was that the Mesoamericans had a close relationship with nature, and it was that relationship that enabled them to discover things like the... This was the case for the mining of the silver mines, because the Spanish ruler (at the time of the discovery of the mines), decided that the natives would have to mine due to the Spanish and the Africans inability to brave the harsh terrain, despite the previous laws that forbode the Spanish from using the natives as slave laborers. Relative Reactivity Of Alkyl Halides Relative Reactivity of Alkyl Halides in Nucleophilic Substitution Reactions Charlie Doyle Madison McGough Annie Chang Introduction Both Sn1 and Sn2 reactions are nucleophilic substitution reactions, though they are slightly different. Sn2 reactions have bimolecular displacement and are also concerted, meaning the bond making and the bond breaking processes happen in one step.1 Sn1 reactions require two steps and have unimolecular displacement. This difference can be seen when comparing Figure 1 and Figure 2 below. The strength of the nucleophile does not effect Sn1 reactions, while the strongest nucleophile is required for Sn2 substitution reactions.2 Other important considerations include the effect of ... Transformational Change in Healthcare Transformational Changes in Healthcare: Two Case Studies Patrick Chapman MHA 601 Professor Sherrie Lu November 29, 2010 Transformational Changes in Healthcare: Two Case Studies The economic downturn has led healthcare organizations to think big changes. We understand that all organizations experience micro changes in their normal adjustments to operating; however, occasionally a unique climate comes together to force new ways of thinking. This new way of thinking is usually a whole novel vision and an entire new direction which transforms the organization. According to its website, Henry Ford Health System now manages six major hospitals with 102,000 inpatient admissions, over 80,000 surgeries, and 3.1 million patient contacts including outpatient ( Henry Ford Health Systems, 2010). Palm Drive Hospital in Sebastopol, California near Santa Rosa opened in 1941 with 15 inpatient beds and later made expansions in 1974 and 1991 to reach the current licensure for 37 beds. The small community governed non profit hospital is supported by tax revenues and serves a community of about 8,000 people ( Palm Drive Hospital, 2010). Both of these hospitals had community leaders who cared about their future and were willing to invest community resources for a transformational change. • 6. The Importance Of Arts Integration In Education Arts integration is defined as the investigation of curricular content through artistic explorations. In this process, the arts provide an avenue for rigorous investigation, representation, expression, and reflection of both curricular content and the art form itself (as cited in Donovan Pascale, 2012, p. 14). As previously discussed, the arts are a boon to those who seek to make their curriculum design more inclusive of all types of learners, and contributes to the social curriculum. Even beyond those applications, arts integration can truly benefit all educators. The arts teach a number of practical skills outside of the primary academic curriculum that teachers are responsible for fostering. Notably, the four Cs (communication, collaboration, critical thinking and creativity) of 21st century learning each work hand in hand with the arts. If we consider the arts as modes of communication, we see that students are more clearly able to demonstrate learning, ask questions, and connect with peers and teachers alike. The more languages a teacher can use, the better chance he or she has to speak (and listen to) diverse students. We need many languages to educate our children for their present and future lives (Powell, 1997, p. 5). Students who struggle with traditional classroom languages may find themselves suddenly able to participate in a world that was closed to them before. This is particularly important in health education, where the stakes are immensely high and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. The Lessons Learned From Park Play Governments Are Overfunding Parks The lessons learned from park play are not comparable to what sidewalk play has to offer. Learning Responsibility on City Sidewalks by Jane Jacobs opens the reader s eyes on the benefits of simple street play. In her passage, Jane Jacobs compares the more beneficial effects of sidewalk play compared to the overpraised parks. Jacobs tells us that parks don t build a stronger form of morality and help with developing more knowledge on city life like sidewalk play do. Parkchildren are given less of a chance to visually learn how to become well rounded citizens in society from adults around them. Parks are not as amazing as they re believed to be from the public. They do not offer the many chances to learn compared to what sidewalk interactions have to offer. Plus, the playgrounds do not have enough adults to actually watch over and teach children the good and the bad. Playgrounds are built for the concept of having fun, but they do not guide and raise children to be good citizens. I believe that government should not heavily fund parks because parks do not revere the essential teachings needed in society such as social abilities. I believe that instead of overfunding parks we could benefit more by having the government actually invest more in club sports because I think club teams open up more of an opportunity for people to develop their social skills, instead of playing in a park. Club sports are provided in many cities but each one I ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Comparing The Fall Of The House Of Usher And Ligeia The Fall of the House of Usher, The Murders in the Rue Morgue, and Ligeia, there was an affinity between the many characters of each one of the stories. There were also many other analogies in the books so far as a situation, plot, setting, etc. In the story The Murders of the Rue Morgue, which is a very mysterious story, the main action commences when the narrator and another man named C. Auguste Dupin meet together because they are seeking for the same book at an ambiguous library in Rue Montmartre. The two men read about a murderin a newspaper headline, then one night they re staying at a hotel and hear a shriek from about the fourth floor above them in which they call the cops in backlash to that. Once the cops had broken into the apartment, for the door was locked, they found what seemed to be a murder scene for all of the blood and the hair on the floor. The police officers and the other two men react to the scene of what seems to be death by acting concerned about finding what had happened and who it had happened to and who committed the crime. These opposite scenarios have a distinct effect on the moralityof the main characters. Respect has a distinct effect on morality which differs depending on if respect is being strived for or shown. By buying into the moral of this story and following your morality, one will not end up remorseful about the morals that one has neglected to follow. In The Guest, the main character Daru is also put in a moral conflict. Although he evades said conflict by giving the Arab his own choice of punishment or freedom, his underlying respect and hospitality causes his guest to deliver himself unto the hands of his enemy. Because of the hospitality that Daru shows the Arab, he feels obligated to do the moral thing and serve his sentence. He condemns himself to prison at the hands of the French the same way that a person, working for a generous manager who continually cheers him on despite his repeated failures, will always try his best to improve his work. Although this is an extreme case of said example, they both demonstrate the power of respect, hospitality, and generosity on morality, and that an input of goodness leads to an output of the same. When morality is positively influenced by respect, positive morals are demonstrated, and when influenced negatively, the opposite is resultantly true. Each year anticipation for the start of the new season builds as dedicated fans eagerly await for game time. People can t help but love the high energy and intensity each game provides. The National Football Leagues popularity draws in the largest amount of fans who fill stadiums to full capacity and even more viewers who watch the broadcasts. The NFL is a huge market that many consider displaying monopoly power. I believe that the NFL is indeed a monopoly due to the lack of competition /substitutes at that level, the high barriers to entry, and their economies of scale. Since the formation of the NFL, numerous football leagues have attempted to compete for control over the professional football market. The National Football League has successfully been able to eliminate their rivals from the market. In 1926, the American Football League (1st AFL) merged called it quits after not making enough profits. In 1937, the American Football League (2nd AFL) stopped its league after having reached limited audiences. In 1942, the American Football League (3rd AFL) permanently discontinued their league due to the toll of World War II. In 1947, the World Football League (WFL) ceased to exist because of being in a smaller market and not having enough money. In 1949, the All American Football Conference (AAFC) became incapable of maintaining its league as a result of the direct competition it faced from the NFL. During this time period, professional football had a relatively small market. The minimal number of attendees, as well as financial problems, caused the AAFC to merge with the NFL. It is imperative to note that even though all parts of the research design are connected, the connections are not inflexible. The rubber band analogy, as put forward by Maxwell, tries to expound vividly a qualitative design as something that is considerably flexible but there are constraints caused by different parts one onto another. If these constrains are in anyway compromised, they may result in the design being ineffective (Maxwell, 2005, p.6). Secondly, interviewing plays a critical role in finding out what is going on another individual?s mind. However, some of my residents might not have had that opportunity and I d love to create programs to allow for that questioning and affirmation to occur. With regard to my own identity, I know seeing queerrepresentation in the media was a step towards finding out my own queer identity. For a program, I could work with another member of the LGBTcommunity or even another marginalized group, such as a person of color, to watch content featuring individuals who unapologetically embrace their identity. Afterwards, the RA s could facilitate a conversation about the content and the identities featured (with snacks of course). Many people might not be comfortable with talking about their identity point blank and therefore the content allows for an introduction to the conversation. Overall, I want to create an environment where discovering the different aspects of your identity is encouraged and accepted by all. In America, abortions clinics are gradually closing their doors even though the United States is of the few nations to endorse abortions. Abortions are normally performed during the 1st trimester of a woman s pregnancy and abortion laws are varied from state to state (Alabama Policy). Abortion is also one of the biggest and most controversial debate about exterminating an unborn life in a mother s womb and determining whether its ethical or unethical. In 1973, the United States Supreme Court legalized abortions throughout every state and more women especially African Americans were enticed by the Roe v Wade court decision (Alabama Policy Web). However, during the early 1950s and 1960s, the Civil Rights Movement and other antiwar movements inspired women to actively fight for their rights through nonviolent means (Feminist Web). Women stopped being afraid of talking about the contentious issues of abortions, abuse, rape and silent tears. For years, women have gone through society being denied their civil rights and they demanded justice through acts of marching, protesting, and lobbying for reproductive rights. As a result, some states began to supported abortion laws for women right after the birth control movement which was led by feminist Margaret Sanger. Similarly, African American women were getting abortions more abortions and the many women were silent about being raped or molested by family members, friends, and unexpected strangers. The African American community is declining in large numbers due to high abortion rates and the next highest killer is heart disease (Black Genocide). Deming believe that people want a sense of joy and pride in there work. Money is needed for living but joy and pride is valued more. They want recognition more than the dollar. Along with Dr. Deming, Herzberg believed that money is no motivator also. I know many people feel if they got paid more than they would do more at their job. There are many who feel they are over worked and not paid enough. They think if they were to receive more money, they would do a better job. Dr. Deming and Herzberg would disagree. They would say that those employees do not like there job and regardless what one would pay them, they still would not put forth their best effort because money is not a motivator. Dr. Edward Deming also believed that a firm should want to have strong competitors. His reasoning for saying this is to drive out fear. Better competition leads to bigger and better expansion of the market. Customers needs are determined by what the firm makes it. We did not ask for electricity, but we got it anyway. Now, most people would not even dare to live without it. Although many would disagree with Dr. Deming and say that it would be more beneficial for the company to be in a market with no strong competitors, Dr. Deming would agree with that statement. It would be good for the company but for the economy as a whole, it would not be good for. In this speech I will be discussing the evolution, the physiology, its ecological niche and propose a postulate for the future health and survival of the Great White Shark. The Great White is ovoviviparous, which mean that the shark grows in an egg which is then hatched inside the mother. Once the shark pup is born it stays in the womb for a short period of time where the embryos feed on unfertilized eggs which is referred to as oophagy. The gestation period is the time that the eggs are in the womb until they hatch which is estimate to around 12 to 18 months. Lastly, is the litter size which ranges vastly for the Great White from two to ten pups. The new born measures to 5 feet (1.5 metres) and weighing 77 pounds (35Kg). However, the reason as to why the Great White doesn t breed as fast as other animals is because they have a slow growth rate to maturity and a low reproductive rate which is a worry for the survival of its kind in the future as they only live up to the age of 30 years old. • 21. A Rose For Emily Symbolism William Faulkner s classic short story A Rose for Emily is the somewhat disturbing tale of Emily Grierson and her strange life. Split into five parts, the story flashes back and forth between Emily s funeral and memories of Emily from the viewpoint of the unknown narrator. The narrator remembers times when Emily refused to pay taxes, and another time when men went and put lime on Emily s yard because her house smelled so awful. When Emily s father died, it took three days for her to stop denying his death and let him be buried. The summer after her father s death, A Yankee named Homer Barron started seeing Emily, which was a big deal because her father had never let her date. One day, Emily went to a druggist and bought arsenic with no explanation, and the town thought she was going to kill herself. However, she did not, and the townspeople even assumed she and Homer got married, but they never saw him again. It was not until Emily died, and they felt enough time had passed, that the people broke down one of her doors that had been unopened for forty years. They found the decaying body of Homer Barron laying in the bed, along with a strand of Emily s gray hair on the pillow beside him. Although the story may just sound like a gruesome tale of a woman with necrophilia, there can be other meanings found through symbolism. A symbol creates a direct, meaningful connection between a specific object, scene, character, or action. In A Rose for Emily, Emily can be seen as a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I had to go back and read this sentence plenty of times to begin to understand what he meant. We as Christians today deal with this reasoning as something that we have done wrong. The more we think we do wrong, the chain of effects and consequences get bigger. I believe this statement is a preface to the question Why do bad things happen to good people? For example if a person stole a candy bar from a gas station, they might think they got away with it, and no one caught them. If Karma truly existed, something might get stolen from that person. That person would get mad, and a chain of reasoning would begin. Later... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... According to Screwtape that question has been answered by the High Command. When humans disbelieve in our existence we lose all the pleasing results of direct terrorism and we make no magicians. On the other hand, when they believe in us, we cannot make them materialists and sceptics. Obliviously this situation has become a big problem for demons like Screwtape. In a human doesn t believe that a demon is causing them pain and suffering, then the demon doesn t take as much pleasure for doing something. If I do something good I know that I would like to be rewarded or acknowledged for something even if that is not having the Servants heart that God wants us to have. On the flipside if a person knew there was a demon doing all of these terrible and unthinkable things to them, they would know that all bad things would come from demons. It is like a surprise birthday party. If you know that your good group of friends is throwing you a surprise party, you won t enjoy it as much if you had no idea about it. Habitat loss and poaching are the two major reasons for the pandas becoming on the brink of extinction. Humans have been destroying the forests in which pandas live for decades now, causing them to have to relocate to regions they were not familiar with. Losing their natural habitat meant that they also lost their main food source. Pandas would starve causing hundreds to die. The loss of their home also left them extremely vulnerable to predators in the new area. All of the little effects of pandas losing their habitat are what caused a major drop in their population. The second biggest reason for the decline in their population is poaching. Hunters and poachers target pandas mainly for their big fur coats. Poaching is illegal everywhere and is a big reason for population decrease for other animals as well. The third reason for the drop in pandas is their inability to reproduce quickly. The female pandas are only fertile once a year for a period of two or three days. They usually only have one pup and that pup stays with the mother for at least two years. After that, the panda is on its own. However, female pandas only need to be about 5 years old before they can start reproducing, but the catch is males have to be about 7 years old. The demand for baby pandas is extremely high so that the population to grow, but the time it takes to do so is hurting the population more. In this report I will be discussing how businesses firstly identify different methods for retrieving and analysing different types of information and then secondly looking at how businesses recognise the legal and security implications of handling and managing information and data. I will be providing a multiple of examples from businesses to back up my points and in particular be looking into Tesco Plc as my main business. Firstly I will begin with talking about a transaction processing system, or its shortened possibly more common name, TPS, which is a very common type of system to store and analyse detailed information a business collects which is necessary to update data on the fundamental operations of an organisation with Tesco being the leading supermarket in the UK. For instance in terms of Tesco, a single store can carry thousands of different items and then throughout the day, many types of customers come into the store and doing so, select a product and pay for it at the checkout counter or one o0f the new self service machines. This leads to members of staff to continuously take items from the stock room and placing them back on the shelves when a particular item has been selected and taken away with a paying customer. This then leads to stocks running low and new shipments being ordered. There are other factors such as exchanges when customers aren t happy which the same applies. Informative Essay About Themed Consumer Environment Themed Consumer Environment Analysis I have not been to many themed environments in my lifetime for many reasons including financial, time, and travel constraints as well as the fact that my family hold the belief that we dont need to go anywhere grand to have a good time. The emphasis has always been placed on simplicity and quality time spent with family and friends. We used to go snow skiing many years ago so my recollection is hazy. We go camping every summer which is almost the opposite of a consumer environment. However, a couple of years ago, for my mother s birthday, we did manage to make a trip to Arlington, Texas to watch a Texas Ranger baseballgame. This is a huge consumer environment which correlates well with everything I have read and learned during this course and so it will be the focus of this analysis. The 270 acre Globe Life Park in Arlington which opened in April of 1994, was a successor of the Arlington Stadium which closed that same year. I vaguely remember going to the old one a couple years before it closed. With the new park, the capacity increased by about 6,000 and many more areas were made available for shops, restaurants, new technology, suites, and other means of consumption. As George Ritzer details modern athletic facilities further in A Tour of the New Means of Consumption, Although these stadiums often resemble earlier versions and even seek to copt them in many ways, they also have a number of innovations. For example, they all ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 40. Preconceived Observation My observation was performed in a thrift store local to my community; one in which I regularly frequent in order to purchase inexpensive clothing. This fact alone left me in a tight position as I was able to view the community through an emic perspective. Prior to arriving at the establishment, I already had a mental picture of the store s layout. Due to my previous knowledge that the seating areas of the store blocked off all lines of sight for anything other than the back wall and dressing stalls, when conducting my observationI had chosen to roam freely around the store; residing mainly at the back clothing racks and homeware department located in the front left corner. I did not inform anyone that my purpose for being within the store... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In my observation, I had stated details such as, parents would offer their children the possibility of buying a toy in exchange for their good behavior . However, as I was unable to come in verbal contact with the shoppers and take on the role of a participant observer, the true intentions of the parent for purchasing the toys alongside whether or not the relationship between a certain adult and child were that of a parent and child were left unknown to me. I was lead to make inferences based upon their behavioral patterns that the relationship between certain individuals were that of parent and child due to my ideological bias concerning what a paternal/maternal relationship looks like. I had assumed due to my personal bias towards parents, that the parent in the situation was bargaining with their child , as throughout my adolescent years while babysitting my younger cousins, I had used a method similar to the one that I had observed from the parents in order to keep my cousins in check. This particular example shows my attempt at making a sound analysis of the situations that I had observed, however, leaned further on the side of a descriptive inference due to the conclusions that I had formed surrounding the relationship between individuals and the reasoning behind their ... • 41. The Role Of Catherine Martin In The Great Gatsby As for costuming in The Great Gatsby, Catherine Martin was challenged with outfitting a huge cast. When Baz Luhrmann first decided to adapt F. Scott Fitzgerald s The Great Gatsbyfor the screen nine years ago, no one was less enthusiastic about the venture than the filmmaker s wife and longtime production and costume designer, Catherine Martin. As an Australian teenager, I really did not connect with the book, Martin admitted to us. I said to Baz, Why would you want to do that novel?! It s so boring! Baz Luhrmann convinced her to re read the book and then Martin became the books biggest fan. There was one line in particular that inspired her visually. • 42. My First Year As Camp Director I established a repport and friendship with many of the campers, and especially the counselors. And this was only my first year as camp director! This was the group of youth that made me realize that they have such an influence on the younger youth. I was able to see the campers imitate and follow their counselors. I am excited to put my plans into motion for next summer. The feelings I have for the youthI have gotten to know over the past year and a half is outrageous. I have so much pride in them. They are truly amazing individuals. I have seen so much improvement in them that now I can also see exponential potential in them also. It has only been one complete 4 H year and I cannot even imagine how I will feel five, 10 or 20 years from now. This gives me the inspiration and motivation to work hard for these youth. I have assigned several roles to myself to support the growth of older youth in my county and region. I will be a mentor, a friend, a leader and motivator. I have an advantage when it comes to youth adult partnerships; my age can dismantle the intimidating authority figure some older youth may see. Our generations, Y (individuals born in 1981 through 1994) and Z (individuals born after 1994) (Schuckenbrock, 2016), may even overlap some (Geck, 2016). The years to determine Generations X, Y and Z tend to change according to different sources. At the least, there may only be an 11 year difference between myself and a youth in their final ... • 43. Reasons Why Basketball Is The Best Sport Many people believe that basketball and football can be the best sports in the world. Basketball can be known as the best sport because it s played all over the world and tons of people like to play /watch it. For football tons of people love to play the sport and tons of people like to watch football every Sunday. In my opinion, I think baseballis clearly the best sport in the world. The great sport of baseball was invented in 1839 in a town called Cooperstown, New York. Many of you might know that this is now where the MLB hall of fame is located at and this is a great tourist destination. Once the sport was founded here it started to branch out all over the country and even some parts of the world. Now it s played in almost every single country in the entire world. It s crazy how a sport like baseball can be played all around the world and rapidly grow that fast. In all sports getting injured is always a possibility. In football and basketballACL injuries are the most common injuries that a player can get. Also in football, there s now a growing concern over CTE problems which is concussions to the head. This is very scary for most players and now players are starting to retire for this reason. In the MLB, the only concern of injuries is really in their arm and a player can almost guarantee a return at some point. So, my point is that MLB doesn t have as many injuries as the other sports do so this attracts more players. Baseball is the easiest sport to just pick up ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Spoon River Poem Theme (Discussion on theme people often sleep with the enemy in Spoon River Anthology ) Creative title (will come back when feeling creative) For reasons unknown the people of Spoon River have continued to make the same mistake over, and over, and over again. • 45. Maleficent Theme In the movie Maleficent, the audience comes to their own opinions about the main character Maleficent in the film. This film also features characters like Aurora, Stefan, and Diaval which allows the audience to see her different sides and views of good and evil through other characters perceptions of Maleficent. This is seen throughout the film and can be seen with her relationship between King Stefan and his daughter Aurora along with her servant Diaval. There is no easy way to define the line between good evil. This is an overarching theme throughout the movie Maleficent because there are different opinions on these 3 characters and the other background characters in the film. In the first scene of the movie, we see Maleficent as a good child who is seen as the strongest of the fairies in this film. When we see her and how the other characters from the Moors the mythical area in which Maleficent lives, see her as a good, nice, playful, and very fair person who looks over the Moors and those who live in it. Stefan, in the beginning, allows ourselves as the audience to see an, even more, a clearer picture of Maleficent and how good and magnificent she is however from what he does later in the movie to Maleficent changes how we see her and perceive is good or evil of her. It is seen throughout this film Maleficent isn t purely evil nor purely good. Sending the message that people are made to be both good and evil. Trying to define good and evil is like trying to ... The conflict began on 15 March 2011, with popular demonstrations that grew nationwide by April 2011. These demonstrations were part of the wider Middle Eastern protest movement known as the Arab Spring. Protesters demanded the resignation of President Bashar al Assad, whose family has held the presidency in Syria since 1971, as well as the end to over four decades of Baath Party rule. I live and work in the UK so it makes sense to take advantage of all the area has to offer. I do work overseas periodically, but I prefer cooler climates. One goal I have is to dive under sea ice in the Arctic, or Antarctic. What do you enjoy most about this type of photography? Being underwater is like no other environment, there s no distraction with mobile phones, and people talking. I like the challenge of being able to dive in harsh environments and show people the beauty, especially in the UK, as many feel it s often dark and gloomy and there s no colour. What is the most important thing to remember to get a good image? The single most important element in getting a good underwater picture is to get close to your subject, generally a maximum of three feet for most subjects, sometimes inches away. It depends on the size of the subject you are shooting. Obviously a 30 foot basking shark is different than a one inch shrimp. The other thing is all about understanding light, whether you are using artificial light,, or natural light, or balancing the two. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The National American Woman Suffrage Association of the early twentieth century adopted her as the symbol of women s worth and independence, erecting several statues, and plaques in her memory, and doing much to spread the story of her accomplishments. Born in 1788, probable early 1790 s, in what is now known as the state of Idaho, she was born into an Agaidika, or Salmon Eater, tribe of Lemhi Shoshone between Kenny Creek and Agency Creek. In 2009, the passing of Bill 173, also known as the Mining Amendment Act brought forth various changes that were created with the input of representatives from the mining industry, environmental groups, municipalities, private citizens, and Aboriginal communities (Pratt Smitherman, 2009). The discussions between the government and these groups helped lead to the implementation of new regulations that promote mineral exploration and development in a manner that recognizes Aboriginal and treaty rights. The Mining Act does a very good job at protecting certain aspects of the environment such as ensuring that over exploitation of minerals does not occur, or making it mandatory to have a plan in place for closing the mine as well as assuring that there is money to do so. Although there are many things that this Act does right, there are also areas in which there are issues and should be improved. One of the first issues pertaining to this Act is the impact that it fails to mitigate regarding water quality. In areas where mining development occurs, the water quality is drastically affected and a study found that water from waste rock piles has an ionic profile distinct from unimpacted catchments (Carey, Wellen, Shatilla, 2015), meaning that in order to mitigate the impact of the runoff measures must be put in place to limit it. Secondly, the Act does not involve ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
