Possible Causes Of Economic Inequality In The United States
In recent years, the largest protests launched by the economic weak can be said to be fought. The issue
of inequality between the rich and the poor in the process of economic development has aroused
numerous discussions. However, there is no statement about its causes and consequences. The causes
of inequality can be divided into three points. First, the economically distorting free market
mechanism leads to inequality between the rich and the poor. Second, political, national or political
parties have different policy options. Third, the politics and economy of the joint system leads to
unequal deterioration. The uneven inequality is caused by the uneven distribution of political
resources from the transformation of economic resources. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Competition mechanism extends to various areas of economic life and will cause a lot of misplaced
resources. There is always too much manpower and resources to pursue the pursuit of certain higher
paid professionals or awards, rather than the average distribution of different production processes to
the interests of society maximized. At the same time, the waste of social resources also makes the
result of economic growth not be evenly distributed, and brings a small number of winners while other
people s income gap widening results. Politics and economy are conjoined; they cannot live without
each other. Political and economic impact is a mutual role. The development of the economy provides
a material basis and a real guarantee for political stability. Political unity for the economic
development provides a good condition and foundation. But the political structure problems cannot be
solved by the economy. Economic problems cannot be understood from the political side. The two are
independent of the two

Cross Country Oodgeroo Noonuccal Poem Analysis
Cross Country: A Book Of Australian Verse second edition was published in 1988. Edited by John
Barnes and Brian McFarlane. It contains a comprehensible and thought provoking selection of
Australian poetry from the early years of European settlement to the present. A common thread that
connects numerous poems in the Cross Country anthology is the contrast between what the past was
and what it is now. This is shown through the loss of aboriginal culture and past times. Each poem
expresses a different scenario or memory about the loss of indigenous culture and how the past was a
noble past, as compared to the present. Oodgeroo Noonuccal s We are Going, portrays the deep
feelings of loss shown through the poem towards the aboriginal culture. The poem is written from a
straightforward point of view that is easy to decipher. As the poem progresses it goes through what the
aboriginal community has lost because of the settlers and how they are strangers to their land, we are
as strangers here now, but the white tribe are the strangers . Noonuccal begins the elegy in the third

is used in the fourth stanza through the line, we took at will, their women . The aboriginals are
described in an entirely different way to the white community, still innocent of the song the sweet

The Role Of Independent Agencies And The White House Staff...
The modern American presidency is defined as the presidency s transition to the center of American
governance. Distinct from typically passive and isolated presidencies during the 18th and 19th
centuries, the modern American presidency of the mid 20th century set the use of power and
popularity as precedence. The transition to the modern presidency can be understood through the
development of the presidency s institutional, international, and perceptual identity. In this essay, I
will argue that the increasing role of independent agencies and the White House staff that spearheaded
executive policymaking led to a significant institutional change to the presidency. I will also argue
America s expanding international function in response to globalization placed the presidency,
responsible for foreign policy, in a newly found position to exercise power. Finally, I will argue that
the public perception of the presidency as a living reality (Reedy, p. 10) shifted it from a peripheral
political entity to one at the center of policy discussion and leadership. In this essay, I will present
examples of the modern presidency in the attributes of administrations from Franklin D. Roosevelt
through John F. Kennedy, as well as evaluate scholarly models that contextualize how attributes of
these administrations shaped the modern presidency, such as John Burke s Institutional Presidency,
Aaron Wildavsky s Two Presidencies, and George Reedy s American Monarchy.

The Art Of The Middle Age
The Museum in the Middle Age During the Middle Age when governed by Christianity, the churches
and monasteries played a role as a treasure storage for collections and exhibitions of precious goods.
Even the most of collected and produced objects or art works were the tools for religious ceremony
and the ornaments for the interior and exterior of church. The churches used a collection and display
of precious goods in a way to attracts the publics to the church unlike that artworks were given secular
values and they were considered as an aesthetic object only in the ancient Greek and the Rome era.
The collected artworks were exhibited and disclosed to the public for the purpose of making people
believe in God. Thus, the church in the Middle Age acted as a modern museum in respect that it
collected, displayed, supported and produced relics and art works. Under the absolute power of the
church, it was obvious that the representative art field in Middle Age was concentrated on an
architecture of religious building such as a church or monastery and a sculpture or painting to decorate
the building. The art works that used for buildings of church and monastery and the ornaments of the
buildings were mostly a sacred treasure, an altarpiece, a bible manuscript for the Christian ceremony
and the mural in catholic church that represents a bible story. Such things were mainly installed or
decorated inside of a church or monastery, which were preserved in a special form along with

Effects of a Poor Institution on the Economy
Introduction
Poor institution cannot build a strong economy for a country, as we can see the evidence in most of the
developing countries, corruption and institution failure lead to economic downturn (Fig #1) .
Corruption affects economic growth, the level of GDP per capita, investment activity, international
trade and price stability negatively (Dreher Herzfeld,2005). Nevertheless, in case of Cote d Ivoire the
institution failure has led the country to onset of civil war which has affected the country s economic
growth in the past decade and half. Civil war is not directly related to economic growth but corruption
is as Dreher and Herzfeld explains, also civil war affects the factors of capital which are relevant to

Southerners were not happy that the northerners were standing against them because Southerners
considered northerners as foreigners, not the citizen of the country. In south there are rich Christians
while on the north part of the country are the poor immigrants. Country studies of civil war invariably
trace the onset of rebellion to some historical roots; therefore, historical conditions should be expected
to matter for the risk of conflict (Collier et al. 2000).
According to Doly and Sambanis s definition civil war is an armed conflict that meets these criterias;
the war has caused more than 1,000 battle deaths the war represented a challenge to the sovereignty of
an internationally recognized state, the war occurred within the recognized boundry of the satte, the
war involved the states as one of the principal combatants, the rebels were able to mount an organized
military opposition to the state and to inflict significant casualties on the state (Fortna, 2008).
The civil war not only divided the country into two, the rebel held North and the government
controlled South but also caused more than 3,000 deaths (World Bank, 2010). The war internally
displaced more than 700,000 people and as many as 500,000 children were out of school between
2002 and 2004 (UNICEF, 2004). According to the Ministry of Education in Côte d‟Ivoire (2004),
education in the North was affected more severely than education in the

The Gap Between The Rich And Poor Essay
I was born and brought up in Nairobi, Kenya. Demographically, my family was typically part of
Kenya s urban poor. As a young boy, I was constantly confronted by the realities and debilitating
impact of poverty. At the age of twelve, I was transferred from a Nairobi based primary school to a
boarding primary school in rural Kenya where I eventually excelled and emerged the best in the
district during national examinations, earning me admission to one of the best high schools in the
country.
While in high school, I not only developed my leadership skills as a school prefect and a deputy
school captain but also discovered new talent as I went on to become a national champion in national
operatic music competitions. Talent and education opened up my eyes to a world of possibilities and
opportunities beyond my imagination.
Nonetheless, the reality of the gap between the rich and poor remained stark in darker shades of black
and lighter shades of white. To me, the root and the problem of poverty was no longer shrouded in a
gray shroud of mystery. It dawned on me that education a necessary condition to the emancipation of
the poor from the shackles of hopeless travail. It was through education that, for the first time, options
were laid out in front of me. I could choose a different future for myself and my future offspring. I
could fathom a flat world, one that presented equal opportunity to all, regardless of tribe, gender or
social background. I could choose to be part of the

John Brown Crimes
John Brown s actions at Pottawatomie Creek and Harper s Ferry can be seen as acts of terrorism by a
person or peoples opinion, but a closer study of modern and historic violent actions show he was a
freedom fighter. Certainly, this is factual because there is no actual definition of terrorism, it is simply
an opinion on someone s actions. Therefore, it is almost irrelevant for one be convicted a terrorist if no
one can actually have a justified reasoning behind their choices.
Some may say Brown s childhood had a major impact on some of his violent actions that occurred
later on in his life. When he was very young, he suffered the loss of his mother. As a result it began to
harvest a bit of rage in his heart that would soon turn into a never ending spiral of rage. It wasn t long
after this loss that Brown witnessed a slave being beaten. It was that moment that Brown began to
pursue his goal of ending slavery.
Brown made many violent attacks through his long attempt to end slavery. One of Brown s rather
horrific attacks was the murder of five pro slavery settlers in the Pottawatomie Creek. It was once

Essay On Universal Healthcare
Universal Healthcare
Ashley Powell
Simpson College
Abstract
People today consider America one of the world s greatest countries. Many Americans enjoy a high
standard of living compared to many other parts of the world. Yet somehow the health care system in
America ranks number 37 in the world. (The World Health Organization s ranking of the world s
health system) Although the United States is known to be one of the most advanced countries in the
entire world, they spend more money on healthcare than any other country. (Zablit) America does not
have universal healthcare coverage. Ultimately, lives are being lost due to proper and affordable
healthcare being out of reach for some citizens.
Without universal healthcare coverage each American is responsible for obtaining their own health
insurance. This can be done through their employer or private insurance companies and the person is
responsible for the monthly premium as well as a deductible, co pay, or other portion of the healthcare
service. The insurance company covers the remaining costs. (Q A: US healthcare reform)

Nature Of Human Knowledge In Tom Stoppard s Arcadia
When asked to name the greatest plays of the past, most individuals would recall plays written by
William Shakespeare, such as Hamlet or Romeo and Juliet. Although his writing style is different and
he is not as well known as Shakespeare, Tom Stoppard, author of Arcadia, is of equal talent. Arcadia,
arguably one of the greatest works of the modern time, is a Victorian English play that was published
in 1993. The play is set in Sidley Park, a country house of Derbyshire, and switches between the past,
1809 to 1812, and the present, 1993. The play follows the lives of both the past and present guests and
staff of the Coverly family. The main present guests, Hannah Jarvis, Valentine Coverly, and Bernard
Nightingale, investigate as the events that unfolded for the past guests, Thomasina Coverly and
Septimus Hodge. Deep philosophical and scientific themes are intertwined into the plot as the
characters attempt to develop an understanding of the world that they live in. Of these philosophical
themes, the most important one is the fragile nature of human knowledge. Throughout Arcadia,
Stoppard ingrains that the concept that knowledge is not as stable of a foundation for understanding
the universe. Stoppard reveals the existence of this theme through examples of its limited lifetime and
tie to emotions; Additionally, he believes it is the most important theme due to its instability of
arrogant nature.
In the play, Stoppard evidently shows that human knowledge is fragile because of

Melanie Green s Recovery Case Study
According to the introduction of LeCory and Hoschuh (2012), there are eight core themes that emerge
in first person accounts on their road to recovery, some of these themes coincide with the personal
accounts of the women who were coping with their BPD. The themes of recovery that are most
prominent in these cases are the reawakening of hope after despair, finding a purpose and actively
participating in life, while also moving past viewing themselves as their psychiatric disorder. Once
again, the theme of the journey to recovery is complex and nonlinear is explored, as well as the theme
of recovery is not accomplished alone, but with support and partnerships in one s life. (LeCroy

Introduction to Public History
Ever since public history emerged on college universities in the 1980s, historians have still had
difficulties defining the term. The National Council on Public History s definition of the term stirred

Compare And Contrast The Astronauts In Apollo 11 And The...
Have you ever wondered why historians compare the astronauts in Apollo 11 and the Corpse of
Discovery? Almost 200 years ago, 35 men were sent on a long journey that lasted about two years.
This journey took place after the Louisiana purchase and soon made American history. Then, on July
16th,1969, three astronauts were sent up into space about to make American history. There were some
difficulties, but they successfully made it to the moon. These two topics may sound off, but if you
really think about it, they are similar in many ways. First of all, astronauts in Apollo 11 and Lewis had
to adapt to their new surroundings. Since they couldn t carry an Infinite amount of supplies, both
groups had to ration their food and water supply. Lewis ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In order to be an astronaut, you need to have a degree in science and engineering. In fact, you must be
in top condition in order to go into space. You must be free from diseases, and you cannot depend on
drugs and alcohol. On the other hand, Lewis only picked men who were in the military. He did not pay
attention to their condition when he was choosing his men. However, his men had never been out
west. This was a big disadvantage because no one knew what could of been out there. On the other
hand, Neil Armstrong, one of the astronauts on Apollo 11, is an experienced astronaut. This was a
advantage for the other astronauts. In comparison, both of the groups were able to bring back some
amazing things. The astronauts on Apollo 11 were able to bring back lunar samples for scientists to
study. Lewis and Clark sent back plant samples and a prairie dog for Jefferson. In conclusion, the
Corpse of Discovery and Apollo 11 may sound different, but they have many similarities. Both of the
groups had trouble getting to their destination, but successfully made it without too much trouble. Like
Apollo 11, the men participating in the Corpse of discovery were specifically chosen. However, these
two topics had their differences. For example: While the men in Apollo 11 rode on rockets, Lewis and
his men had to walk or ride on boats. No matter how many differences

Ways of Computing the Value of Alternative Projects Essay...
Ways of Computing the Value of Alternative Projects
When deciding whether to invest in a project an investor first will compare investment or sunk costs to
the expected profit and based on this decision will decide what to do. Depending on the specifics of
the project calculating of sunk cost and expected profit might be rather different and will play the
main role in the decision to invest, wait and invest later or not to invest at all. More detailed
consideration of the standard NPV rule: to invest if present value of cash flow is greater than sunk cost
will show that some projects cannot be simply estimated using this idea. For the irreversible projects
such as building a factory or buying an option NPV method may not be proper ... Show more content

Now, consider the factory that can produce some product. There is F=100 the sunk cost of building the
factory and the price of the product is P=$10 today. In a year there are two possible options: the price
will go up to $15 with probability 1/2 or will go down to $5 with probability 1/2 and then stay at these
levels.
Let us calculate net present value of the project if invested today (expected price will be $10, because
1/2·15+1/2·5=10 and the interest r=0.1 for easy calculations):
NPV= 100+Ó0[10/(1+r)t]=$10
notice that in this case we have summation from 0 to infinity because the process starts on the step
one, it means we invest in project right now. Using our parameters we can see that NPV if invested
today is equal $10. Now let us calculate net present value, but in this case we do not invest right now,
but wait and invest only if the new price is 15, which happens with probability 1/2:
NPV=0.5[ 100/(1+r)+ Ó1[10/(1+r)t]]=$30
we have to discount the value of the sunk cost and also sum not from zero as in the first case but from
1, since we wait for a year. Thus, we can see that NPV if we wait is bigger by $20, this value is the
value of flexibility or option to wait. The same thing can be computed for three step process and more.
Now we can see the difference in the calculations and gain if we wait. This gives an investor new
option to wait and gather information, so his expected profit will be higher.
Of course, the

Birmingham Southern College
Date: October 24, 2016
Teacher: Jennifer Kelly
Abstract
In my biology class we conducted an experiment to determine if there was a direct correlation
between the concentration of lead levels in soil and the effect it has on plant synthesis and plant
height. The specimen used in the experiment is a species of plant, Brassica rapa. Seeds of B. rapa were
careful planted within every cell of a cubical that was filled with six different concentrations of lead
which was our treatment group and the control was the cubical with no lead soil in it. Plant height and
temperature were recorded with a thermostat and a mm ruler. The results show that lead concentration
does not have a relationship with plant height except in concentration of 100 mg/kg and 2000 mg/kg.
During this three week experiment, the mean of over a hundred students plant heights were recorded
and all the student s plants showed similar results meaning lead nitrate concentrations in soil does not
affect the growth.

Description Of An Electrocardiogram, Or Ecg Or Ekg
Introduction
An Electrocardiogram, or ECG or EKG, is a recording of the hearts electrical activity as a graph over
a period of time, as detected by electrodes attached to the outer surface of the skin and recorded by a
device external of the body (Boundless). The graph of an ECG can identify various things initiated by
the heart, such as its rate, rhythm, a decrease in blood flow, and a possible enlargement. For a healthy
individual, a typical ECG shows the whole cardiac cycle or heart beat which includes a P wave (Atrial
depolarization), a QRS complex (Ventricular depolarization), and a T wave (Ventricular
repolarization). The ECG s first spike or P wave is triggered by the Sinoatrial node (SA node), which
is also known as the pacemaker and the electrical impulse from the atria to the ventricles is conducted
by the atrioventricular node (AV node). During each heart beat the heart muscle depolarizes, this is
detected on the skin where the ECG electrodes are placed by the machine and then translated into a
linear representation (Boundless). The resting membrane potential of a heart cell is 60mv, when an
influx of positive ions enter the cell (NA+ and CA++) depolarization takes place causing the heart to
contract. This action takes place during the peak of the P wave (Atria systole). The QRS complex
represent when the left and right ventricles contract and depolarize, also called ventricular systole.
This action normally takes place at the highest amplitude in the complex,

The Most Important Parts Of Any Game
Paintball is a game unlike any other I have ever experienced. To play well, one must have several

The Pros And Cons Of Military Service
Although many people are aware of the heroic conscientious objector, World War II American Army
Medic Desmond T. Doss, very few people are familiar with the names of recent conscientious
objectors. In fact, in an all volunteer force that exists in the United States military today, it is shocking
to learn that about 100 members of the military still apply to be a conscientious objector each year.
While numerous military members and United States civilians agree that it is outrageous for a
volunteer in the military to decide they cannot fight in a war they enlisted to participate in, this does
not fully encapsulate the issue at hand. The military service offers incentives such as careers,
education, and life long benefits; thus, some will volunteer for military service without deeply
considering the ethics of service and their personal convictions; moreover, the nature of war causes
man to struggle with the morality after deployment, resulting in a conviction arriving late into one s
career. Therefore, when one faces an unresolved conflict of conscience, it is necessary for a military
member to examine their moral beliefs in order to make an ethical decision regarding whether to
continue military participation.
When enlisting into any branch of the United States Armed Forces, there is plenty of documentation to
accompany it. In addition to the personal history, medical investigations, and physical readiness
testing, there are specific questions to ensure each recruit is the right person for the job. In section 25
of DD form 1966, there are three significant questions specifically asking about limitations relating to
a history of conscientious objection or current objections. These questions provide ample opportunity
to examine one s beliefs.
However, the fact remains that circumstances and experiences can change even the deep rooted, core
beliefs of a person. The reality of service, especially in violent confrontations, is enough to make
anyone think twice about the morality of war and violence. When personal beliefs begin to conflict
with the Oath and the obligation of a service member, it is necessary for them to apply the
Constitutional Paradigm.
The first principle of the Constitutional Paradigm is the

Macbeth Play Comparison
After viewing the movie Macbeth, I believe that the movie is very similar to the play with only a few
discrepancies for dramatics. In the beginning of the movie, which portrays Act I, the scene opens on
the battlefield in which Macbeth and Banquo are introduced by the dying Captain; Macbeth and
Banquo are praised as valiant soldiers for Scotland. Just as in the play, Macbeth and Banquo come
upon the three witches, but the setting is dark and eery and takes place in what seems to be a
warehouse. The three witches stand across the room and address Macbeth as the Thane of Glamis, the
Thane of Cawdor, and the future king. They address Banquo with paradoxical statements that are seen
in the play as well. The only differences in Act I of the movie and Act I of the play is the movie does

Cawdor. I believe these minute changes were made to add ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

go out. After this scene, Macbeth holds the dinner at his house to celebrate himself, just as in the play.
At this dinner, however, while the ghost of Banquo does appear, he does not appear sitting in Macbeth
s chair but rather walks on the table towards Macbeth. While his entrance is different, Macbeth reacts
the same way; horrified. Macbeth, in front of all his guests, yells at the ghost and Lady Macbeth
attempts to cover up this outburst by saying he has had these fits since he was a child. Act III of the

Paternity Leave Benefits
Paternity Leave
As of 2015 less than 20% of employers offer paid paternity leave. This low number is staggering when
you look at all the benefits that come from a new father being at home with his newborn. The benefits
to employers alone should send that number skyrocketing. Paid paternity leave promotes better child
cognitive development, allows for faster recovery for the mother, and makes for better employees.
Paid paternity leave should be a benefit provided by every company in the United States for all full

This allows employees to take up to 12 weeks of un paid leave. It helps balance work and family life
without the fear of losing their jobs and benefits. The leave is easy to get if you are a full time

within 75 miles of your job. It is illegal for an employer to discriminate against an employee that has
taken leave, but Federal law requires at least 30 days notice to the employer. If your work doesn t offer
paid paternity leave this is one option you have. Another is to use up any vacation and/or PTO. When
you put everything together you can see that the long term financial benefits of paid paternity leave
greatly outweigh the short term economic costs for any employer. Letting the father create such a

The Fusion of Content and Form in Sonnet 29 Essay examples
The Fusion of Content and Form in Sonnet 29
One of the most popular of the fixed poetic forms in English literature is the sonnet. Attributed to the
Italian poet Petrarch in the fourteenth century, the sonnet is still used by many contemporary writers.
The appeal of the sonnet lies in its two part structure, which easily lends itself to the dynamics of
much human emotional experience and to the intellectual mode of human sensibility for argument
based on complication and resolution.
In the last decade of the sixteenth century, sonnet writing became highly fashionable following the
publication of Sir Philip Sydney s sonnet sequence Astrophel and Stella, published in 1591. Sonnet
sequences were widely read and admired at this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A different rhyme scheme and thus a different convention of logical and rhetorical organization
determines the differences between the two sonnet forms. In the Petrarchian sonnet the problem is
solved by reasoned perception or a meditative process.
The Shakespearean sonnet maintains the basic two part structure of conflict and resolution, now
presented in fourteen lines of three quatrains and a concluding rhyming couplet. Each quatrain
presents a further aspect of a problem, conflict, or idea. The resolution occurs in the last two of a
rhyming couplet, achieved through logical cleverness that summarizes or ties together what has been
expressed in the three quatrains. The rhyme scheme, subject to variation, is abab, cdcd, efef, gg in
iambic pentameter.
The sonnet sequence is a gathering together of a number of sonnets to present a narrative or examine a
larger theme. Shakespeare s sequence, like Sydney s, was intended as a series of love poems to
celebrate the poet s affections for a young male friend. The poems were collected and published as a
sequence in 1609, though initially they were private poems meant for a small circle of writers and
friends, not for publication. There are 154 sonnets in the sequence. Some scholars speculate these are
ones that remain from a longer work, thus accounting for the sonnet s problems in chronology,
thematic development, and connections between individual poems. Other scholars speculate that not

observational learning and found it to be governed by four related mechanisms: attentional processes,
retention processes, production processes, and incentive and motivational processes (Schultz Schultz,
2013, p. 335). First, there are various changing forces that can effect attentional processes (Schultz
Schultz, 2013). According to Bandura, observational learning or modeling will not occur unless the
subject pays attention to the model (Schultz Schultz, 2013). For example, even though Antwone was
not raised by his biological parents, he had several influences in his life. Antwone s foster mother had
a momentous influence on Antwone. Antwone was violent towards him and may have taught him to
be aggressive. However, there are some instances that a model does not always have an impact on an
individual in every area of his or her life (Schultz Schultz, 2013). For instance,

Turning Point Of The Mexican Revolution
The Land belongs to the people who work it. An inspirational quote said by Emiliano Zapata during
the Mexican Revolution. One of the leading figures during the event. The Mexican Revolution was
one of many turning points in Latin History, but a greater turning point for the people of Mexico. The
revolution took place after defeating the French from the invasion of Mexico, which happened during
1862 1867. On November 20, 1910, was the start of the Mexican revolution and where the president,
Porfirio Diaz triggered the beginning stages of it. Due to a violation of the Mexican Constitution
among other situations that the citizens didn t agree.
The Mexican Revolution involved many bloody conflicts, which covered two decades, and the loss of
900,000 lives. The Revolution began on November 20, 1910, to overthrow the current ruler and
dictator Porfirio Díaz Mori. Díaz was one determined president and wanted to develop Mexico into an
industrial and modernized country. While he worked on implementing a capitalist society building
factories, roads, dams which had many rural and peasant s workers suffered greatly.
Díaz would bully and terrify citizens into supporting him. While many civil liberals appeared under
his rule, such as, Freedom of press he began to attempt to strengthen his ties with the United States
and other influential foreign interests. While Diaz began to seize many lands that once belonged to
Mexico and to wealthy non nationals. Diaz also stated that Mexicans could

Japanese Anime Vs American Culture
Recently, Japan s entertainment industry has swept the nation. With popular anime films like, Your
Name, and In This Corner of The World, it s no surprise that Japanese television erupted over time. In
chapter ten of, A Geek in Japan, the main focus is Japanese cinema. It introduces a familiar, but new
world of entertainment filled with action, adventure, and melodramas. This paper will reflect on
Japanese dramas and their storytelling, ass well as marketing and production. After skimming through
Garcia s A Geek in Japan, this paper will dig deeper into the world of Japanese dramas. Considering it
s 2018, most people at least know what anime is. While they might not have watched it, they ve heard
of it. Anime is different from American ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
From family dramas, to high school dramas, action, comedy, the list goes on. And that s what is so
great about Japanese television, because there is something for everyone. Japanese dramas really are
different to American dramas. Today, a lot of American series focus on vampires, zombies, or some
random C.S.I. spin off. Now of course, Japan follows that pattern as well. But there are so many
series, mostly due to the fact that Japanese dramas only last about one or two seasons, (Dunning, pg.
38). But some can go even longer. For example, the series Mito Komon, aired all the way back in
1969, and continued to air years after, (Dunning, pg.

Was The Peloponnesian War Inevitable
The Peloponnesian War Is war ultimately inevitable? Many may say the answer seems to be a definite
yes, but to answer this question, one must evaluate the causes, the history, and the aftermath of war.
The Peloponnesian War is an excellent war that can be examined. It was a great war fought by two
very powerful Greek city states, Athens and Sparta. It started on April 25th, 431 B.C. and lasted until
404 B.C., a whole generation. The war caused major destruction and many lives from both sides were
lost making Greece never be the same again. Athens and Sparta started off as allies standing side by
side when they took on the Greco Persian Wars lasting between 499 B.C. and 449 B.C.. They
remained superior among the city states for over a half ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Their leaders refused Sparta s offerings of peace and the war continued. Both the Spartans and the
Athenians gained some victories, but the end came in 405 B.C. during the battle of Aegospotami.
Sparta had gained aid from the Persians and were able to defeat the Athenian navy once again. The
following year the Athenians finally surrendered and Sparta dismantled its empire.
The Peloponnesian War brought disease, destruction, famine, widespread civil wars, and a huge loss
of life. The war was a complete catastrophe for Athens, who never fully regained their empire back.
Sparta won the war, but they didn t become a great city and a new empire was never built. Sparta
attempted to lead the Greeks, but soon fell short and new leaders were called forth.
The aftermath of the war for Athens was brutal, but they worked hard to get everything back together.
Most Athenian households lost fathers, sons, and brothers to the battles of the Peloponnesian War, but
they found ways to compensate. Many made a living by selling clothing they made or other goods.
Many of the manufactured Athenian goods came from such

With the innovative changes in everyday life since the creation of the internet, the banking sector is no
exception. The creation of value added services through the internet such as online transactions and
online banking, the traditional landscape of banking has been transformed to new lengths. Day to day
banking and similar financial transactions through the digital medium have positively affected the live

As a result private and commercial users of such facilities are required to place more emphasis on
safeguarding their financial well being. Breaches in confidential data security and financial theft
through online banking facilities are of major concern to financial institutes. Concerns of data security
and identity theft are of utmost importance given the increased trend towards mobile banking.
Continuity and evolution of online banking services depends on financial institutes ability to convince
its users that the same or similar security mechanisms in relation to the physical banking setting
applies to the digital realm. As a result there is a need for financial institutes to create a balance
between security, trust as well as usability in relation to online banking facilities. Consumers trust has
been identified as a vital element for the success of electronic banking. Due to the uncertain nature
perceived by online banking users, such issues affect trust; particularly security and privacy of data
have an impact on the development of electronic banking services (Maijala, V. (2004)). The hype and
excitement one feels when purchasing one feels when purchasing products online is often diminished

Examples Of Kindness In Black Beauty
The book Black Beauty by Anna Sewell tells the story of a horse named Black Beauty by a few of his
owners. He grows up with good owners: a farmer, then the Birtwicks, but then gets changed into the
hands of owners who are more cruel, who get worse as time goes on. He then finds a good owner in
Jerry Barker, who treats him well yet must work him hard as a cab horse. Eventually, Jerry has to sell
him, where he finds the worst of his owners, until being bought and recovered, then finally sold to
people who knew him as Black Beauty, and determined to never sell him. The theme of kindness runs
through the entire book. Kindness is when someone thinks about the feelings of everyone else (not
discriminating between looks, actions, or social status), and makes a conscious, continuous, and
wholehearted effort to treat them well. Kindness is when people treat everyone with respect. In Black
Beauty, the creatures who are shown as good ones are kind to cruel and kind people alike. On page 8,
Black Beauty s mother told him not to say that it served a man right to die when he was hunting and
injured his horse (her other son), showing that she was kind to everyone, even those who were mean
to someone close to her. Some people would think it was okay, as long as they didn t insult them to
their face, but Black Beauty s mother shows how kind she is by not doing that. Since she also doesn t
reprimand the other colts for saying those things, she is kind to them as well, even though they are

Unit D1 Volcanor
Unit D was differentiated into two basaltic tephra subunits (D1 and D2) and a diatomaceous marl
(D3). The maar tephra apron is comprised primarily of unit D1 (Figures 4 and 6), which has been
described in detail by Fisher and Waters (1970:166 169). The D1 subunit is thickest at the maar rim
and becomes progressively thinner towards the distal portions of the apron. It is thinly and distinctly
bedded and composed predominantly of ash and finely fragmented sedimentary rock interbedded with
occasional, scoria rich layers of coarse ash and very fine lapilli. These deposits are interpreted as
pyroclastic base surge deposits associated with a phreatomagmatic, maar forming eruption based on
the presence of low angle cross bedding, round accretionary ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Although the luminescence ages appear somewhat younger than the radiocarbon based age estimates
for the two eruptive phases, the 2 sigma ranges of the dates indicate that they are consistent (Figure 8).
Because they are from the same geological context, the two luminescence ages for the C3 basalt flow
associated with the initial eruptive phase can be statistically combined using the OxCal v. 4.2 program
(Ramsey, 2009) to reduce the standard error, resulting in a luminescence age estimate of 12,720 ± 610
yr (Figure 8). The 2 sigma range of this combined luminescence age falls within the 2 sigma
radiocarbon based age range estimate of 13,560 13,330 cal yr BP. Likewise, the two luminescence
ages of 10,250 ± 805 yr and 10,420 ± 765 yr associated with the second, phreatomagmatic eruptive
phase overlap with the 2 sigma radiocarbon based age estimate of 12,160 11,720 cal yr BP. The
luminescence sample associated with Zuni Salt Lake lacustrine highstand deposits at profile 13 5,
which must post date the phreatomagmatic eruption based on stratigraphic relationships, produced an
age of 10,935 ± 980 yr, in better agreement with the radiocarbon evidence associated with the second
eruptive phase. It is possible that we underestimated the soil moisture associated with the UIC 3476
and 3421 luminescence samples, which could explain why the two luminescence based maar eruption
ages are

Importance Of Citadel In Beowulf
First question: What the heck is a citadel? A citadel is basically a type of fortress on high ground that
is heavily fortified to protect its city. The walls were seven to thirty feet in thickness and typically
thirty to forty feet high (Kalif 1). This helped the walls provide a solid defense. The Citadel had many
parts to it to provide a solid defense against an invasion force. The keep, or citadel, was perched at the
top of the hill, looking down on the city it protects and helping keep a lookout for enemies. Well, what
are the parts of the citadel? The wall is the first defense. This separated the citadel into three parts:
city, military and noblemen, and the keep. They typically had arrow slits for archers to shoot out of,

GOP Debate Analysis
This election cycle has already been hectic and irregular and we re not even close to past the
primaries. The number of debates that have been held on both sides is already staggeringly high. The
GOP has already had twelve debates and the Democratic Party as already had eight. As we gradually
approach the final primaries and see who will be pitted against who in the general election the
Republican party, which started with a record number of candidates, is now whittled down to three
and the Democrats have only had two major candidates for a couple of months now. The debates on
both sides thus far have been exhilarating; Bernie and Hillary constantly attacking each other s
policies and voting records and on the GOP side of things a bevy of wild ... Show more content on

None of the candidates were really prepared for a logical appeals debate and frequently diverted to
emotional appeals. Ted Cruz turned to Megyn Kelly at one point, Do you think the voters at home
want this to be the type of debate that is playing out? That was a strong emotional appeal, because
with all the mocking and bickering and yelling the debate was troubling to watch. That moment where
he asked the viewers if this is what they wanted was great for building positive face with voters, even
when he was doing some of the bickering himself. Trump uses the San Bernandino and Paris attacks
as frequently as he can as an emotional appeal. He also used a bit of humor when he implied that he
had a large penis. John Kasich s emotional appeal go to is, I want to bring people together. Rubio
made a great joke after Donald yelled that he s not doing yoga, But he s so flexible you d never know
it, clearly referencing an earlier point in the debate where Donald claimed his core value is being
flexible. The most effective ethical appeals came from Cruz and Kasich, who both cited their
experience and political records several times in response to moderator s questions. Trump s ethical
appeals weren t solid, because the moderators fact checked him almost every time and reported that
73% of his statements were either false or some degree of false. While the GOP appeals mostly
consisted of emotional appeals, the Democrats were very heavy on all three kinds. Bernie explained
his tax plans carefully and in detail and Hillary explained her solution to American jobs being
exported with facts. Bernie and Hillary were in Flint, so both of them used the situation with the
poison water to their advantage, making emotional appeals to parents and they agreed on that issue in
an effective way. The last and most heavily talked about appeals in this debate were the ethical
appeals. Both candidates were

Charles Tilly s State Making
Charles Tilly (1929 2008) is a former sociologist and political scientist who introduced the idea of
state making through state makers in global politics. Charles Tilly argued that state making is the
process by which state makers eliminate other hostile or adverse powerful men within a given
territory. State makers are the power holders in society such as kings or landowners . In Bringing the
State Back (Tilly, Charles. 172) Tilly argues that states are formed through a capricious and
unintentional process by which state makers enforce war in the pursuit of territory, human population
and scarce resources. Tilly says that state makers did not take part in the pivotal and costly tasks of
war making, extraction and capital accumulation with a mind set of ultimately forming a state. Rather,
Tilly argued that the pursuit of resources for war making, capital accumulation and extraction was
required to gain territory, money and human population. Tilly describes capital accumulation as the
process of investing money into warfare in return for future profits or benefits. Lastly, Tilly defines
extraction as acquiring means such as population, money or weaponry to carry out the initial war
making process. Modern day rebel militant forces such as ISIS and the Taliban support Tilly s
explanation of state making, however ISIS challenges the aspect of unintentional state making, as it
ultimately envisages the emergence of a state once the war making is over.

Biography Of Sir Isaac Newton s Life
By: Katlyn Arneson Every day there are new better things being offered to the world, whether it be a
new Phone, a new car, or even a new type of medical advancement, there is always going to be
something new that we haven t heard of or seen before. During Newton s time, many people didn t
understand the concept of light, motion or gravity until Newton came around and discovered them. I
know one question that I have is what would our world be like today if these important discoveries
were not found?
Sir Isaac Newton was simply a genius. He discovered many important aspects that are used in the
modern world on a daily basis. He was very passionate about learning and his innovations changed the
world. The first innovation that Newton brought to our world was the discovery of light. Newton said
that white light is made up of many colors. He discovered this by setting up a prism near his window,
and projecting a spectrum twenty two feet onto the far wall, to prove that the prism was not coloring
the light, he refracted the light back together. The advantage of Newton s theory of light is that we
know that light is made up of many colors. If he wouldn t have discovered this phenomena, we would
still think that color was a mixture of light and darkness, which is what people thought before Newton
s theory of light. Along with his light theory, Newton also discovered the lovely subject Calculus and
he invented a telescope using a mirror rather than a lens, which was something

  • 2. Possible Causes Of Economic Inequality In The United States In recent years, the largest protests launched by the economic weak can be said to be fought. The issue of inequality between the rich and the poor in the process of economic development has aroused numerous discussions. However, there is no statement about its causes and consequences. The causes of inequality can be divided into three points. First, the economically distorting free market mechanism leads to inequality between the rich and the poor. Second, political, national or political parties have different policy options. Third, the politics and economy of the joint system leads to unequal deterioration. The uneven inequality is caused by the uneven distribution of political resources from the transformation of economic resources. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Competition mechanism extends to various areas of economic life and will cause a lot of misplaced resources. There is always too much manpower and resources to pursue the pursuit of certain higher paid professionals or awards, rather than the average distribution of different production processes to the interests of society maximized. At the same time, the waste of social resources also makes the result of economic growth not be evenly distributed, and brings a small number of winners while other people s income gap widening results. Politics and economy are conjoined; they cannot live without each other. Political and economic impact is a mutual role. The development of the economy provides a material basis and a real guarantee for political stability. Political unity for the economic development provides a good condition and foundation. But the political structure problems cannot be solved by the economy. Economic problems cannot be understood from the political side. The two are independent of the two ... • 5. Cross Country Oodgeroo Noonuccal Poem Analysis Cross Country: A Book Of Australian Verse second edition was published in 1988. Edited by John Barnes and Brian McFarlane. It contains a comprehensible and thought provoking selection of Australian poetry from the early years of European settlement to the present. A common thread that connects numerous poems in the Cross Country anthology is the contrast between what the past was and what it is now. This is shown through the loss of aboriginal culture and past times. Each poem expresses a different scenario or memory about the loss of indigenous culture and how the past was a noble past, as compared to the present. Oodgeroo Noonuccal s We are Going, portrays the deep feelings of loss shown through the poem towards the aboriginal culture. The poem is written from a straightforward point of view that is easy to decipher. As the poem progresses it goes through what the aboriginal community has lost because of the settlers and how they are strangers to their land, we are as strangers here now, but the white tribe are the strangers . • 7. The Role Of Independent Agencies And The White House Staff... The modern American presidency is defined as the presidency s transition to the center of American governance. Distinct from typically passive and isolated presidencies during the 18th and 19th centuries, the modern American presidency of the mid 20th century set the use of power and popularity as precedence. The transition to the modern presidency can be understood through the development of the presidency s institutional, international, and perceptual identity. In this essay, I will argue that the increasing role of independent agencies and the White House staff that spearheaded executive policymaking led to a significant institutional change to the presidency. I will also argue America s expanding international function in response to globalization placed the presidency, responsible for foreign policy, in a newly found position to exercise power. Finally, I will argue that the public perception of the presidency as a living reality (Reedy, p. 10) shifted it from a peripheral political entity to one at the center of policy discussion and leadership. In this essay, I will present examples of the modern presidency in the attributes of administrations from Franklin D. Roosevelt through John F. Kennedy, as well as evaluate scholarly models that contextualize how attributes of these administrations shaped the modern presidency, such as John Burke s Institutional Presidency, Aaron Wildavsky s Two Presidencies, and George Reedy s American Monarchy. • 8. The Art Of The Middle Age The Museum in the Middle Age During the Middle Age when governed by Christianity, the churches and monasteries played a role as a treasure storage for collections and exhibitions of precious goods. Even the most of collected and produced objects or art works were the tools for religious ceremony and the ornaments for the interior and exterior of church. The churches used a collection and display of precious goods in a way to attracts the publics to the church unlike that artworks were given secular values and they were considered as an aesthetic object only in the ancient Greek and the Rome era. The collected artworks were exhibited and disclosed to the public for the purpose of making people believe in God. Thus, the church in the Middle Age acted as a modern museum in respect that it collected, displayed, supported and produced relics and art works. Under the absolute power of the church, it was obvious that the representative art field in Middle Age was concentrated on an architecture of religious building such as a church or monastery and a sculpture or painting to decorate the building. The art works that used for buildings of church and monastery and the ornaments of the buildings were mostly a sacred treasure, an altarpiece, a bible manuscript for the Christian ceremony and the mural in catholic church that represents a bible story. Such things were mainly installed or decorated inside of a church or monastery, which were preserved in a special form along with ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In south there are rich Christians while on the north part of the country are the poor immigrants. • 11. The Gap Between The Rich And Poor Essay I was born and brought up in Nairobi, Kenya. Demographically, my family was typically part of Kenya s urban poor. As a young boy, I was constantly confronted by the realities and debilitating impact of poverty. At the age of twelve, I was transferred from a Nairobi based primary school to a boarding primary school in rural Kenya where I eventually excelled and emerged the best in the district during national examinations, earning me admission to one of the best high schools in the country. While in high school, I not only developed my leadership skills as a school prefect and a deputy school captain but also discovered new talent as I went on to become a national champion in national operatic music competitions. Talent and education opened up my eyes to a world of possibilities and opportunities beyond my imagination. Nonetheless, the reality of the gap between the rich and poor remained stark in darker shades of black and lighter shades of white. To me, the root and the problem of poverty was no longer shrouded in a gray shroud of mystery. It dawned on me that education a necessary condition to the emancipation of the poor from the shackles of hopeless travail. It was through education that, for the first time, options were laid out in front of me. I could choose a different future for myself and my future offspring. I could fathom a flat world, one that presented equal opportunity to all, regardless of tribe, gender or social background. I could choose to be part of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 12. John Brown Crimes John Brown s actions at Pottawatomie Creek and Harper s Ferry can be seen as acts of terrorism by a person or peoples opinion, but a closer study of modern and historic violent actions show he was a freedom fighter. Certainly, this is factual because there is no actual definition of terrorism, it is simply an opinion on someone s actions. Therefore, it is almost irrelevant for one be convicted a terrorist if no one can actually have a justified reasoning behind their choices. Some may say Brown s childhood had a major impact on some of his violent actions that occurred later on in his life. When he was very young, he suffered the loss of his mother. As a result it began to harvest a bit of rage in his heart that would soon turn into a never ending spiral of rage. It wasn t long after this loss that Brown witnessed a slave being beaten. It was that moment that Brown began to pursue his goal of ending slavery. Brown made many violent attacks through his long attempt to end slavery. The definition of marijuana (n.) is cannabis, especially as smoked in cigarettes or the dried leaves and female flowers of the hemp plant, used in cigarette form as a narcotic or hallucinogen. Most of us, if not all of us will be in the same situation before a party or event. Your inside or outside, and you smell a strange herb. You see a group of kids talking and laughing as they take turns hitting and passing a joint. Then they soon see you and ask you that powerful pressuring question, Do you want a hit? Nature Of Human Knowledge In Tom Stoppard s Arcadia When asked to name the greatest plays of the past, most individuals would recall plays written by William Shakespeare, such as Hamlet or Romeo and Juliet. Although his writing style is different and he is not as well known as Shakespeare, Tom Stoppard, author of Arcadia, is of equal talent. Arcadia, arguably one of the greatest works of the modern time, is a Victorian English play that was published in 1993. The play is set in Sidley Park, a country house of Derbyshire, and switches between the past, 1809 to 1812, and the present, 1993. The play follows the lives of both the past and present guests and staff of the Coverly family. The main present guests, Hannah Jarvis, Valentine Coverly, and Bernard Nightingale, investigate as the events that unfolded for the past guests, Thomasina Coverly and Septimus Hodge. Deep philosophical and scientific themes are intertwined into the plot as the characters attempt to develop an understanding of the world that they live in. Of these philosophical themes, the most important one is the fragile nature of human knowledge. Throughout Arcadia, Stoppard ingrains that the concept that knowledge is not as stable of a foundation for understanding the universe. Stoppard reveals the existence of this theme through examples of its limited lifetime and tie to emotions; Additionally, he believes it is the most important theme due to its instability of arrogant nature. • 29. Compare And Contrast The Astronauts In Apollo 11 And The... Have you ever wondered why historians compare the astronauts in Apollo 11 and the Corpse of Discovery? Almost 200 years ago, 35 men were sent on a long journey that lasted about two years. This journey took place after the Louisiana purchase and soon made American history. Then, on July 16th,1969, three astronauts were sent up into space about to make American history. There were some difficulties, but they successfully made it to the moon. These two topics may sound off, but if you really think about it, they are similar in many ways. First of all, astronauts in Apollo 11 and Lewis had to adapt to their new surroundings. He did not pay attention to their condition when he was choosing his men. However, his men had never been out west. This was a big disadvantage because no one knew what could of been out there. On the other hand, Neil Armstrong, one of the astronauts on Apollo 11, is an experienced astronaut. This was a advantage for the other astronauts. In comparison, both of the groups were able to bring back some amazing things. The astronauts on Apollo 11 were able to bring back lunar samples for scientists to study. Lewis and Clark sent back plant samples and a prairie dog for Jefferson. In conclusion, the Corpse of Discovery and Apollo 11 may sound different, but they have many similarities. • 30. Ways of Computing the Value of Alternative Projects Essay... Ways of Computing the Value of Alternative Projects When deciding whether to invest in a project an investor first will compare investment or sunk costs to the expected profit and based on this decision will decide what to do. Depending on the specifics of the project calculating of sunk cost and expected profit might be rather different and will play the main role in the decision to invest, wait and invest later or not to invest at all. More detailed consideration of the standard NPV rule: to invest if present value of cash flow is greater than sunk cost will show that some projects cannot be simply estimated using this idea. For the irreversible projects such as building a factory or buying an option NPV method may not be proper ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Now, consider the factory that can produce some product. There is F=100 the sunk cost of building the factory and the price of the product is P=$10 today. In a year there are two possible options: the price will go up to $15 with probability 1/2 or will go down to $5 with probability 1/2 and then stay at these levels. Let us calculate net present value of the project if invested today (expected price will be $10, because 1/2·15+1/2·5=10 and the interest r=0.1 for easy calculations): NPV= 100+Ó0[10/(1+r)t]=$10 notice that in this case we have summation from 0 to infinity because the process starts on the step one, it means we invest in project right now. Using our parameters we can see that NPV if invested today is equal $10. Now let us calculate net present value, but in this case we do not invest right now, but wait and invest only if the new price is 15, which happens with probability 1/2: NPV=0.5[ 100/(1+r)+ Ó1[10/(1+r)t]]=$30 we have to discount the value of the sunk cost and also sum not from zero as in the first case but from 1, since we wait for a year. Thus, we can see that NPV if we wait is bigger by $20, this value is the value of flexibility or option to wait. The same thing can be computed for three step process and more. Now we can see the difference in the calculations and gain if we wait. This gives an investor new option to wait and gather information, so his expected profit will be higher. Of course, the ... Tiller III, Corey Biology Department Birmingham Southern College Date: October 24, 2016 Teacher: Jennifer Kelly Abstract In my biology class we conducted an experiment to determine if there was a direct correlation between the concentration of lead levels in soil and the effect it has on plant synthesis and plant height. The specimen used in the experiment is a species of plant, Brassica rapa. Seeds of B. rapa were careful planted within every cell of a cubical that was filled with six different concentrations of lead which was our treatment group and the control was the cubical with no lead soil in it. Plant height and temperature were recorded with a thermostat and a mm ruler. The results show that lead concentration does not have a relationship with plant height except in concentration of 100 mg/kg and 2000 mg/kg. • 33. Description Of An Electrocardiogram, Or Ecg Or Ekg Introduction An Electrocardiogram, or ECG or EKG, is a recording of the hearts electrical activity as a graph over a period of time, as detected by electrodes attached to the outer surface of the skin and recorded by a device external of the body (Boundless). The graph of an ECG can identify various things initiated by the heart, such as its rate, rhythm, a decrease in blood flow, and a possible enlargement. For a healthy individual, a typical ECG shows the whole cardiac cycle or heart beat which includes a P wave (Atrial depolarization), a QRS complex (Ventricular depolarization), and a T wave (Ventricular repolarization). The ECG s first spike or P wave is triggered by the Sinoatrial node (SA node), which is also known as the pacemaker and the electrical impulse from the atria to the ventricles is conducted by the atrioventricular node (AV node). During each heart beat the heart muscle depolarizes, this is detected on the skin where the ECG electrodes are placed by the machine and then translated into a linear representation (Boundless). The resting membrane potential of a heart cell is 60mv, when an influx of positive ions enter the cell (NA+ and CA++) depolarization takes place causing the heart to contract. This action takes place during the peak of the P wave (Atria systole). The QRS complex represent when the left and right ventricles contract and depolarize, also called ventricular systole. • 35. The Pros And Cons Of Military Service Although many people are aware of the heroic conscientious objector, World War II American Army Medic Desmond T. Doss, very few people are familiar with the names of recent conscientious objectors. In fact, in an all volunteer force that exists in the United States military today, it is shocking to learn that about 100 members of the military still apply to be a conscientious objector each year. While numerous military members and United States civilians agree that it is outrageous for a volunteer in the military to decide they cannot fight in a war they enlisted to participate in, this does not fully encapsulate the issue at hand. The military service offers incentives such as careers, education, and life long benefits; thus, some will volunteer for military service without deeply considering the ethics of service and their personal convictions; moreover, the nature of war causes man to struggle with the morality after deployment, resulting in a conviction arriving late into one s career. Therefore, when one faces an unresolved conflict of conscience, it is necessary for a military member to examine their moral beliefs in order to make an ethical decision regarding whether to continue military participation. When enlisting into any branch of the United States Armed Forces, there is plenty of documentation to accompany it. In addition to the personal history, medical investigations, and physical readiness testing, there are specific questions to ensure each recruit is the right person for the job. In section 25 of DD form 1966, there are three significant questions specifically asking about limitations relating to a history of conscientious objection or current objections. These questions provide ample opportunity to examine one s beliefs. However, the fact remains that circumstances and experiences can change even the deep rooted, core beliefs of a person. The reality of service, especially in violent confrontations, is enough to make anyone think twice about the morality of war and violence. When personal beliefs begin to conflict with the Oath and the obligation of a service member, it is necessary for them to apply the Constitutional Paradigm. At this dinner, however, while the ghost of Banquo does appear, he does not appear sitting in Macbeth s chair but rather walks on the table towards Macbeth. While his entrance is different, Macbeth reacts the same way; horrified. Macbeth, in front of all his guests, yells at the ghost and Lady Macbeth attempts to cover up this outburst by saying he has had these fits since he was a child. • 37. A Brief Note On The World Wide Web The world wide web has a wide range of uses. From finding resources for research papers to diagnosing diseases by Googling symptoms, the spectrum of its utility is endless. While the web might be a great platform to find information, not all of the information out there is credible and thus using the internet in place of a doctor is not acceptable and needs to stop, or at least be carried out warily. It is understandable why one would prefer a quick Google search over a trip to the doctor s office. • 38. Paternity Leave Benefits Paternity Leave As of 2015 less than 20% of employers offer paid paternity leave. This low number is staggering when you look at all the benefits that come from a new father being at home with his newborn. The benefits to employers alone should send that number skyrocketing. Paid paternity leave promotes better child cognitive development, allows for faster recovery for the mother, and makes for better employees. Paid paternity leave should be a benefit provided by every company in the United States for all full time employees and would prove to be a profit for the company. It is illegal for an employer to discriminate against an employee that has taken leave, but Federal law requires at least 30 days notice to the employer. If your work doesn t offer paid paternity leave this is one option you have. Another is to use up any vacation and/or PTO. When you put everything together you can see that the long term financial benefits of paid paternity leave greatly outweigh the short term economic costs for any employer. • 39. The Fusion of Content and Form in Sonnet 29 Essay examples The Fusion of Content and Form in Sonnet 29 One of the most popular of the fixed poetic forms in English literature is the sonnet. Attributed to the Italian poet Petrarch in the fourteenth century, the sonnet is still used by many contemporary writers. The appeal of the sonnet lies in its two part structure, which easily lends itself to the dynamics of much human emotional experience and to the intellectual mode of human sensibility for argument based on complication and resolution. In the last decade of the sixteenth century, sonnet writing became highly fashionable following the publication of Sir Philip Sydney s sonnet sequence Astrophel and Stella, published in 1591. Sonnet sequences were widely read and admired at this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A different rhyme scheme and thus a different convention of logical and rhetorical organization determines the differences between the two sonnet forms. In the Petrarchian sonnet the problem is solved by reasoned perception or a meditative process. The Shakespearean sonnet maintains the basic two part structure of conflict and resolution, now presented in fourteen lines of three quatrains and a concluding rhyming couplet. Each quatrain presents a further aspect of a problem, conflict, or idea. The resolution occurs in the last two of a rhyming couplet, achieved through logical cleverness that summarizes or ties together what has been expressed in the three quatrains. The rhyme scheme, subject to variation, is abab, cdcd, efef, gg in iambic pentameter. The sonnet sequence is a gathering together of a number of sonnets to present a narrative or examine a larger theme. Shakespeare s sequence, like Sydney s, was intended as a series of love poems to celebrate the poet s affections for a young male friend. The poems were collected and published as a sequence in 1609, though initially they were private poems meant for a small circle of writers and friends, not for publication. There are 154 sonnets in the sequence. Some scholars speculate these are ones that remain from a longer work, thus accounting for the sonnet s problems in chronology, thematic development, and connections between individual poems. Other scholars speculate that not all ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 40. Antwone fisher and Personality Personality is an important part of one character. The first theorist of choice that can explain Antwone Fisher. Bandura believed that learning was apparent when one was observing another person or experience (Schultz Schultz, 2013). Through Antwone s actions, it was plausible that he became a product of what he witnessed and experienced. Antwone displayed certain fears that was based on his past and the people that he came in contact with. Bandura would say that Antwone went through the process of observational learning (Schultz Schultz, 2013). Bandura analyzed the nature of observational learning and found it to be governed by four related mechanisms: attentional processes, retention processes, production processes, and incentive and motivational processes (Schultz Schultz, 2013, p. 335). First, there are various changing forces that can effect attentional processes (Schultz Schultz, 2013). According to Bandura, observational learning or modeling will not occur unless the subject pays attention to the model (Schultz Schultz, 2013). For example, even though Antwone was not raised by his biological parents, he had several influences in his life. Antwone s foster mother had a momentous influence on Antwone. Antwone was violent towards him and may have taught him to be aggressive. However, there are some instances that a model does not always have an impact on an individual in every area of his or her life (Schultz Schultz, 2013). For instance, ... • 45. Examples Of Kindness In Black Beauty The book Black Beauty by Anna Sewell tells the story of a horse named Black Beauty by a few of his owners. He grows up with good owners: a farmer, then the Birtwicks, but then gets changed into the hands of owners who are more cruel, who get worse as time goes on. He then finds a good owner in Jerry Barker, who treats him well yet must work him hard as a cab horse. Eventually, Jerry has to sell him, where he finds the worst of his owners, until being bought and recovered, then finally sold to people who knew him as Black Beauty, and determined to never sell him. The theme of kindness runs through the entire book. Kindness is when someone thinks about the feelings of everyone else (not discriminating between looks, actions, or social status), and makes a conscious, continuous, and wholehearted effort to treat them well. Kindness is when people treat everyone with respect. In Black Beauty, the creatures who are shown as good ones are kind to cruel and kind people alike. On page 8, Black Beauty s mother told him not to say that it served a man right to die when he was hunting and injured his horse (her other son), showing that she was kind to everyone, even those who were mean to someone close to her. Some people would think it was okay, as long as they didn t insult them to their face, but Black Beauty s mother shows how kind she is by not doing that. The maar tephra apron is comprised primarily of unit D1 (Figures 4 and 6), which has been described in detail by Fisher and Waters (1970:166 169). The D1 subunit is thickest at the maar rim and becomes progressively thinner towards the distal portions of the apron. It is thinly and distinctly bedded and composed predominantly of ash and finely fragmented sedimentary rock interbedded with occasional, scoria rich layers of coarse ash and very fine lapilli. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Although the luminescence ages appear somewhat younger than the radiocarbon based age estimates for the two eruptive phases, the 2 sigma ranges of the dates indicate that they are consistent (Figure 8). Because they are from the same geological context, the two luminescence ages for the C3 basalt flow associated with the initial eruptive phase can be statistically combined using the OxCal v. 4.2 program (Ramsey, 2009) to reduce the standard error, resulting in a luminescence age estimate of 12,720 ± 610 yr (Figure 8). The 2 sigma range of this combined luminescence age falls within the 2 sigma radiocarbon based age range estimate of 13,560 13,330 cal yr BP. The Citadel had many parts to it to provide a solid defense against an invasion force. • 49. Charles Tilly s State Making Charles Tilly (1929 2008) is a former sociologist and political scientist who introduced the idea of state making through state makers in global politics. Charles Tilly argued that state making is the process by which state makers eliminate other hostile or adverse powerful men within a given territory. State makers are the power holders in society such as kings or landowners . In Bringing the State Back (Tilly, Charles. 172) Tilly argues that states are formed through a capricious and unintentional process by which state makers enforce war in the pursuit of territory, human population and scarce resources. Tilly says that state makers did not take part in the pivotal and costly tasks of war making, extraction and capital accumulation with a mind set of ultimately forming a state. Rather, Tilly argued that the pursuit of resources for war making, capital accumulation and extraction was required to gain territory, money and human population. Tilly describes capital accumulation as the process of investing money into warfare in return for future profits or benefits. Lastly, Tilly defines extraction as acquiring means such as population, money or weaponry to carry out the initial war making process. Modern day rebel militant forces such as ISIS and the Taliban support Tilly s explanation of state making, however ISIS challenges the aspect of unintentional state making, as it ultimately envisages the emergence of a state once the war making is over. During Newton s time, many people didn t understand the concept of light, motion or gravity until Newton came around and discovered them. I know one question that I have is what would our world be like today if these important discoveries were not found? Sir Isaac Newton was simply a genius. He discovered many important aspects that are used in the modern world on a daily basis. He was very passionate about learning and his innovations changed the world. The first innovation that Newton brought to our world was the discovery of light. Newton said that white light is made up of many colors. He discovered this by setting up a prism near his window, and projecting a spectrum twenty two feet onto the far wall, to prove that the prism was not coloring the light, he refracted the light back together. The advantage of Newton s theory of light is that we know that light is made up of many colors. If he wouldn t have discovered this phenomena, we would still think that color was a mixture of light and darkness, which is what people thought before Newton s theory of light. Along with his light theory, Newton also discovered the lovely subject Calculus and he invented a telescope using a mirror rather than a lens, which was something ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
