Cosmetic formulation building block

- 8. A solution isan evenly dispersed mixture of two or more kinds of molecules . For example :- a solution is made by mixing a solute-solid (for example :-a sugar cube) into a solvent (for example :-water). Solutions can be easily prepared by dissolving a powdered solute in a warm solvent by stirring. APPLICATION OF SOLUTION IN COSMETICS

There are three solution classification :- Dilute solution :- Contains a small quantity of solute in proportion to the quantity of the solvent. Example :- Brush cleaner, Toner, Hair spray.

- 11. Application of solutionin cosmetics contd. Concentrate Solution :- Contains a large quantity of the solute in proportion to the quantity of solvent .It is used in cosmetic products for transparency. Example :-Liquid foundation, Cleansers , Hair gel.

It is used to remove some particulates from surface in case of scrub and masques . And also used in gel eyeliner for easy application .Example :- Facial scrub, Face masques, Gel eyeliner.

- 15. These are opaquesoft solids or thick liquids intended for external application. - 16. Application of creamsin cosmetics contd. TYPES OF CREAMS Cleansing Creams :- It is used to keeping the body clean , personal hygiene and beautification which leads to the need of cosmetics . Used for removal of facial makeup , surface grim , oil.
- 17. Application of creamsin cosmetics contd. Vanishing and Foundation Creams :- Creams which spread easily and seem to disappear rapidly when rubbed are termed as vanishing cream. Foundation Creams -It is used as base makeup to hold the powder or other makeup over it.
- 18. Application of creamsin creams contd. Night and Massage Creams :- Creams which are generally applied on skin and left for few and several hours mostly overnight . Massage Creams- Creams which act by providing emollient action by rubbing .

Hand and Body Creams :- Hand and other body parts skin may exposed to water, water soap, detergents causes removal of lipids and other secretions from the skin. 1. Provide an oily film to protect skin. 2. Keep the skin smooth but not greasy. 3. Easy to apply.
- 20. A lotion isa low-viscosity topical preparation intended for application to the skin. By contrast , creams and gels have higher viscosity, typically due to lower water content. - 21. Moisturizing Lotion :-Moisturisers or emollients are complex mixtures of chemical agents specially designed to make the external layers of the skin softer and more liable. They increase the skin’s hydration by reducing evaporation. Application of lotion in cosmetics contd.

- 23. Application of lotionin cosmetics contd. Anti Hair Loss Lotion :- It is used to help prevent hair fall and boost hair growth. It helps to maintain healthy scalp and provides complete nourishment to hair follicles.
