The Religious Place Of Worship I Attended
Identification: The religious place of worship I attended was a Jewish institution. The denomination
was a reform Jewish Synagogue, and the name of the place of worship was called Temple Israel and is
located at 2310 Virginia Drive, Ottawa, Ontario Canada, K2C 1N2. I attended the Saturday Shabbat
service on September 26, 2015 at 10:15am and ran till 11:45. As people entered in Temple Israel they
hand them a prayer book called Mishkan T filah, and sheet that says Ten Commandments Of
Synagogue Etiquette the ten commandments follows 1. Respect the Sanctuary as a place of prayer,
reflection and joyous worship, 2. Be respectful in your behaviour and dress, 3. Join us in prayer and
not in side conversations, 4. Treat the Siddurim with respect, 5. No cell phones or PDA s use in the
sanctuary, 6. No texting during the service, 7. No photography, 8. No eating, drinking, or gum
chewing in the sanctuary, 9. Wish your neighbor Shabbat Shalom, 10. Have a joyous Shabbat. The
Mishkan T filah is written in Hebrew with English translations. Building: The outside building is a
light dirt colour brown all around, the building is one story with a basement. The door is a large
wooden rectangle under a brick arc. The entrance into the synagogue was filled with books shelves,
with a front desk, there was a display of the tree of life on the south wall. This tree of life had glass
leaves with messages from the elementary school they have. Once I entered into the main area of

ANZAC Day Essay
Each year, ANZAC (Australian and New Zealand Army Corps) day is celebrated to pay tribute to the
troops who landed at Gallipoli with the intent to capture the peninsula on 25 April 1915. (Cama, 2015)
Soon after its official naming in 1916, ANZAC came to refer to any and all Australians and New
Zealanders who took part in World War I, and the day has become a time for reflection, as well as a
symbol of mateship, sacrifice and nationalism. The Gallipoli campaign was the first major military
action shared by Australians and New Zealanders, and it was a campaign that lasted eight months,
with more than 8 000 Australians having been killed in action. Because of this, it had lasting effects on
the nation as a whole, hence why it is commemorated each year. Those who had served in the
campaign were also irrevocably changed by the experiences they d ... Show more content on

Trauma challenges an individual s sense of security, and may cause issues with trust, closeness, and
communication, aspects which can significantly change the way a person acts around others (Muscari,
2012). Feelings of vulnerability and lack of safety that is caused by the source of the trauma can make
those affected by it act in a way uncharacteristic to them before the war, such as becoming easy to
anger, feeling shame or guilt. One may also argue that because of the negative connotations linked
with having a mental illness, soldiers who came home from the Gallipoli campaign would refuse to be
treated had they been given the option to.
However, Linden Jones (2014) found an appeal published in the London newspapers from Lord
Knutsford in 10 November 1914, which

Diversity In Accounting
Diversity in accounting leadership roles continues to be a challenge for the accounting profession.
During my accounting career I have been employed by organizations in a variety of industries from
retail, sales, service, hospitality and currently a satellite services provider. My personal experience
over the years is a slow growth in diversity within the accounting profession. Even with an increase in
woman and people from various ethnic groups attaining accounting degrees there is still a lack of
leadership roles in the accounting profession. There is an increasing change in demographics but
organizations lack leadership in accounting to representing the increasing diverse demographics.
Organizations recruit and can maintain talent but lack ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For some organizations diversity training is limited to informative programs, providing networking
avenues and sensitivity training. While some organizations wholly embrace incorporating diversity as
paving the road for the organizations future success. The Bureau of Labor Statistics report dated
August 2014 states that for 2013 out of the total employed in the category of Accountants and
Auditors 77.8% White, 8.6% Black / African American, 11.9% Asian and 7.3% Hispanic. These
numbers far from represent the face of clients accounting professionals are currently managing.
Corporate diversity programs are visible to employees and easily accessible. Corporate efforts and
accomplishments in strategic planning and implementation of programs are publicly celebrated. Yet
labor statistics demonstrate recruiting and maintaining talented diverse employees in the profession of
accounting is a current and ongoing challenge. Based on a 2013 survey diversity in accounting is
lagging with only about 25% of ethnically diverse employees in the accounting profession. (Supply
and Demand for Accounting Talent at Record Levels., 2013). Public accounting firms, private industry

What Are The Five Major Functions That A Load Balancer...
By definition load balancing means the ability to spread the load of processing for an application over
a number of separate systems for an overall performance increase in processing in coming requests.
This seems very simple and conceptual very easy to think about the process; just splitting up the load
helps it get done faster. But although this concept may seem simple enough, there are many factors
that can add heavy levels of complexity. For example, anyone who has ever managed large groups of
people in the Army can attest to that.
There are five major functions that a load balancer performs:
Intercepts network based traffic (such as web traffic) destined for a site.
Splits the traffic into individual requests and decides which ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

When servers were pushed to their limits the initial thought process was to beef up the system such as
adding more ram, upping the processor, and increasing the storage space. However these measure only
took the scaling so far. At some point, you would have again maxed out all the hardware platform and
its capability. Also beefing up the server meant substantial down time and in the exploding world of
commerce that was not a viable option.
Before Server Load Balancing was a technology or a viable product, site administrators would and
employ a load balancing process known as a DNS round robin. DNS round robin uses a function of
DNS that allows more than one IP address to associate with a host name. Every DNS entry has what is
known as an A record, which maps a hostname, such as www.example.com to an IP address, such as
111.222.333.444. Usually only one IP address is given to a hostname. With DNS round robin, it is
possible to give multiple IP addresses to a host name distributing traffic more or less evenly to listed
IP addresses. For instance, let s say you had three web servers with IP addresses of 111.222.333.444,
111.222.333.445, and 111.222.333.446 that we wanted to share the load for the site
www.example.com. The end result is that the traffic destined for www.example.com is distributed

Pros And Cons Of Bio-Fuel

We know that our conventional source of energy like coal, fossil fuel etc. are limited in amount so this
is creating a serious concern in front of Human civilisation. Bio fuel is an alternative source of energy
which can provide energy to today s human growth path. In this article we have reviewed many
research work which has been done till today in subject of Biomass conversion to Biofuel and we also
presented what are the pros and cons have those technologies, which technology will be best from
both perspective economically as well as environmentally. Introduction

History of the Perfect Number
The perfect number is a positive integer that is equal to the sum of its proper divisors. Earlier
definitions of a perfect number were aliquot parts of a number. An aliquot part means a proper
quotient of a number. According to Webster s dictionary, the term perfect number was first used in the
14th century. The discovery of such numbers was lost in prehistory. The smallest perfect number is
six. It is the sum of its divisors one, two, and three. Other perfect numbers are twenty eight, 128, and
496. In the paragraphs below I will talk about the history of the perfect number and Euclid s theorem
and the founder of the perfect number.
The first four perfect numbers were known to the ancients Greeks over 2,000 years ago. Some cultures
back then gave mystic interpretations to the numbers and thought they were magic. The first four
perfect numbers were six, twenty eight, 496, and 8,128. Of the two dozen perfect numbers now
known, all of them are even numbers. If there are any odd perfect numbers they are quite big, are well
over 300 digits long, and have multiple prime factors.
The ancient Christian scholar Augustine said, ‟That God could have created the world in an instant but
he chose to do it in a perfect number of six days. Many times the twenty eight day cycle of the moon
around the earth was given as an example of a Heavenly or a perfect event that naturally was a perfect
number. The number six is perfect in itself. Historians and discovers believe it is a perfect

Key Themes Of Political Power In Machiavelli s Richard II
Political power does not come from an army, or a full treasury. Instead, it comes from the subjects, or
the people. If the people like a ruler, or leader, it gives them power to act, largely, however they
please, but, if the ruler is not well liked, not only does the ruler lose the ability to act, even within the
law, but they are much more likely to lose their throne. Throughout Richard II political staging is a
means to obtain power, both successfully, and unsuccessfully. In doing so, it reveals the identity of the
characters and how they view the world and their place in it. It also demonstrates the problem that
power presents, and how it can be hard to wear a political mask, and retain something that is
fundamentally individual. In Machiavelli s The Prince, he outlines and ideal ruler, and how they
would act, and the best ways to seize power. One of the key themes that underlies this work, is that
power comes from the people, not divine right, or inheritance. This question of where power comes
from, is also present in Richard II, and it plays out both literally and intellectually within the play.
Power from the people, plays out literally in the play, when Henry, works to win people over, so that
he can overthrow Richard. Later on in the play, Richard realizes that power comes from the people
and not from divine right, and realizes that he has screwed up, and lost the bit of power that he did
have. Machiavelli also discusses the importance of appearances. For example,

First Opium War Research Paper
Good morning class and Mrs Bennett. The Hypothesis for this topic is that the First Opium War
caused problems in society because the criminal rate increased, as well as the local consumption of the
drug. This presentation will be discussing mainly what opium is, what the first opium war was, and
why it started. The Opium War was a battle in China that occurred during the mid 19th century. This
war was between western countries, such as Britain, and the Qing Dynasty, which ruled China
between 1644 and 1911.
The First Opium War was conducted from 1839 to 1842, and was between China and Britain. The
reasoning for the war occurring was caused by China s attempts to withhold the Opium trade. It was
over diplomatic relations, trade, and the administration of foreign nationals in China. Opium was
illegally being imported into China, through India, by the British. They grew the opium on their
plantations in India. At first, the British were addicted to stimulating Chinese tea. Trade imbalance
occurred due to the Chinese buying few European products and demanding Gold or Silver in return.
The reverse flow of Silver and the increasing number of opium addicts alarmed Chinese officials, and
resulted in over 20,000 chests of opium to be confiscated. As opium was being imported into china, it
caused unrest in society, the local consumption to increase, and the decrease in the price of the drug.
Being a stimulant drug, Opium spread throughout the country, badly affecting its nation. ... Show

Teacher Identity And Identity
Merriam Webster s Dictionary defines identity as the distinguishing character or personality of an
individual. Teacher identity implies both a cognitive psychological and sociological perspective:
people develop their identity in interaction with other people, but they express their professional
identity in perceptions of who they are and who they want to become as a result of this interaction.
(Bejaard 2006). I come from a middle class family of six, with two parents with only a high school
diploma. My father Immigrated to America in the early 1940 s from Puerto Rico, while my mom was
born in the Bronx N.Y and is African American and Bajan decent. I was born in the Bronx in the early
seventies, and raised in Suffolk County Long island during the early eighties. I grew up in a small
community called Gordon Heights which is a predominantly African American Neighborhood in
Coram NY. This small community was surrounded smaller towns in Suffolk county New York mainly
composed of Families of Italian, German Jewish descent. Growing up we spent our weekends and
summers in the Bronx and Spanish Harlem, which allow my siblings and I to stay in touch with our
Afro Latino roots. Attending school on long Island in comparison to NY city schools, was a blessing
of sorts because the quality of education was better. This is where I learned to develop relationships

Epistemological And Psychological Views Of Divorce
Epistemological and Psychological Views of Divorce This paper looks at divorce from different
perspectives of thought. By using personal experience, critical thinking and Christian integration I am
able to evaluate the implications of divorce. Marriage is a vow intended to be kept, and when a couple
decides to separate it detaches from God s perfect will for their lives. From a sociological standpoint
divorce can effect kids, government policies and communities. Divorce does not only effect the couple
but people outside of it. The rate of separation is so prevalent that society accepts this as a social
norm. The goal of my paper is to prove that divorcing is not beneficial for long term happiness or
mental health. Identifying the solutions through a struggling marriage by epistemological thought and
psychology will ultimately decline the rate of divorce. The concept of divorce can be understood
through reason, empirical investigation and revelation. By reason, one can assume that divorce will
not lead to happiness but to loneliness and uncertainty. This paper will further explore empirical
investigation which has assessed that divorce will not guarantee true satisfaction or contentment.
Through the testimonies of many, their experience has led to a revelation of truth in their lives, and the
true meaning of marriage.

Accounting, Personal Finance and Personal Finance Software
a) Accounting is the social science that studies, measures, analyzes and records the heritage of
organizations, businesses and individuals, in order to serve in decision making and control, presenting
the information previously recorded, systematically and useful for different stakeholders. It also has a
technique that produces structured and systematic quantitative and valuable information, expressed in
monetary units on transactions made by economic entities and certain identifiable and quantifiable
economic events that affect it, for the purpose of providing it to the various public stakeholders. The
purpose of accounting is to provide information at a given moment and the results obtained over a

administrative events, and tor estimate future results, providing such rational and efficient decisions
Accounting is very important as all companies as well as individuals must keep track of their business

Definition Of Customary International Law
Within the scope of customary international law there are some varying norms that the international
law community must deal with, which can be broken down into three different categories from most
important to least important: 1) norms in which the international community allows no derogation,
these are known as peremptory norms or jus cogens, 2) norms that might allow for derogation, and 3)
norms that aren t binding but some might argue should be.
The classification of these customary norms is based off of both state practice and opinio juris. In
order to determine state practice the states may look towards each other and how they react in similar
scenarios. One debate surrounding this area is determining how many states need to sign off on an
action to determine that sufficient state practice is occurring. Two sides of the argument are the actual
number states versus the regionalization of the states. Opinio juris is defined as a state engaging in a
certain activity because they believe they are under legal obligation to act.
The idea of peremptory norms is older than modern international law itself (113). The idea of
peremptory norms stems from the belief that certain actions are so heinous that in order for these to be
prevented states shall not be allowed to derogate from adherence. The Vienna Convention on the Law
of Treaties shows the importance of peremptory norms in both Article 53 and 64. Article 53 states that
a treaty is void if at the time of its

How Did Eminem Influence People s Youth

Against all odds, he had succeeded far beyond what the world presumed possible. His personal life

The Deer Hunter and Apocalypse Now are two films which deal, at a very personal level, with
American involvement in the Vietnam War. Although the style and narrative of each film are quite

theme of the Vietnam War itself. These are journeys of self discovery and self destruction and in the
sense that the central characters ideals become twisted by war and their value of life itself diminished.

Just like Satan questioned God s rule, Kurtz has questioned America s. When Satan chose to challenge
God s rule, the cause was unsound. The same applies in the case of Kurtz and America. It is better to
reign in Hell, than to serve in heaven John Milton. In Apocalypse Now , Colonel Kurtz chooses to
reign in hell (the jungle). I believe that the feature of man s breaking point and temptation of man to
play God is historically accurate but also allows America to offload some of the blame onto members
of the army who rebelled against American leadership.
During Apocalypse Now , Francis Ford Coppola uses plenty of imagery to get across to the viewer the
confusion and horror of war. The first example of this is when we hear the voice recording of Kurtz in
the jungle. He talks about his nightmare where he sees a snail crawling along the edge of a straight
razor . This snail represents Colonel Kurtz as, in his insanity, he is confused between good and evil
and the temptation to play God. Kurtz does end up playing God. He calls him Vietnamese followers

film, the officer there describes how war causes a conflict in every human heart . Kurtz is a good

A child who has a strong phonological awareness is more likely to learn how to read easily in
comparison to children who does not have the required phonological awareness needed
(www.nefec.org). In fact, when faced with an alphabetic script, the child s level of phonemic
awareness on entering school is widely held to be the strongest single predictor of the success she or
he will experience in learning to read as cited by Adams Bruck (1995). So before children learn to
read, they must understand the sounds that are paired with the letter are the same as the sounds of
speech they hear . For those of us who already know how to read and write, this realization seems very
basic, almost transparent as cited by Adams, Foorman, Lundberg Beeler (1998). However, research
tells us the spoken language is a sequence of little sounds that is not natural to humans. A strong
understanding of phonemic concepts must be solidly in place prior to formal instruction in reading. It
is critical that a child make the association that words on the page are simply talk written down

The Emancipation Proclamation made the blacks realize that the war for the Union must become a
war for freedom. This added a moral force to the Union cause that strengthened the Union, both
militarily and politically. This document was a milestone on the road to slavery s final destruction.
When we see the words or read about the Colored Troops of the United States, we have to ask
ourselves: Who were these people? Where did they come from? What role did these people play in
reshaping the socio political and military structures of the United States of America? The start of the
Civil War began in South Carolina on April 12, 1861, at a place called
Fort Sumter, but even before tha,t there were seven states in the deep South that had seceded from the
Union. A convention was held in Montgomery, Alabama, where Jefferson Davis was elected and a
Constitution was written for the Confederate states of America. Soon four more states seceded,
Virginia, Arkansas, Tennessee, and North Carolina. The slave states that remained loyal to the Union

The Dangers Of Mass Shootings
Mass Shootings
There is no question that mass shootings are happening more frequently. The question is are they
happening to often? They have become more common, but have always been a problem in the world.
Shootings have been happening since the invention of guns, but as we come closer to our era mass
shootings have been happening more regularly. These shootings need to be stopped and put an end to.
But how can we as a whole all come together and put an end to it? The statistics and facts that are
going to be used give valid reasons to where the shootings take place, how it happens and the number
of casualties and lives taken from these shootings.
Mass shootings have recently become more frequent and more deadly over the years. Living in the
U.S. we have lived through at least fifty years of mass shootings and a variation of tragedies. A mass
shooting is when a gunman shoots or kills four or more people in the same general time and location.
The three most deadly shootings that have occurred in the U.S. in the past ten years are Las Vegas
attack (at least 58 killed), Virgina Tech massacre (32 killed), Orlando nightclub shooting(49 dead)
(Willingham). These shootings exemplify the lack of control that we have over guns and the type of
people that have possession of the guns. If we want to try to control the type of people who can own a
gun, then the government should keep updated on the people who buy bigger guns with more rounds
and do mental background checks. The researchers also found that most mass murderers suffered from
some mental instability, though they usually weren t flagged by mental health specialists or law
enforcement. And military style rifles were used in 18 of the 66 mass public shootings in the most
recent 15 year period the researchers studied (Shastry, Anjali). If a person has possession a military
style rifle that should automatically redflag the government. Some of the main reasons that these
things happen are because the government or law enforcement don t keep tabs on these people. Media
today plays a big part in the mass shootings believe it or not. Media contagion is largely responsible
for the increase in these often deadly outbursts (Media Contagion). By showing the number

Tenochtitlan And Ix Summary
Tenochtitlan and Po. And Ix. Both took place in Mexico and both shared facts about Mexico and the
land in different ways. One mostly told a mythical story but talked about the landform as the other
talked about how people in Tenochtitlan and nonfictional facts about the land and city. So both are not
the same but they share some common interest. The Tenochtitlan story mainly told about a city in
Mexico and how they survived and lived. It describes how they developed on the island and how the
city first originated. Life over there was also involved with the Aztecs and why they made the choice
to move to a swampy land. Nowadays the city has been partly destroyed due to the Spanish and
Hernan Cortes which the ruins is today located near the center of Mexico City. Back then the whole
city s roads were made of canals which was mostly intended ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

However, they re both located near the same city and both take place in Mexico. Tenochtitlan was
primarily based on an urban development structure as the other was based on a tragic romance based
on a bad lie told to the married warrior and princess. I m probably sure that they shared the same
culture since there both in the same country and possibly practice the same ceremonies and practices,
so yeah they could have some similarities and some could be contrasted. Both can t be compared too
easily mostly because of the type of story it is and because of what they tell about, but they did have
some similarities on the other hand. They both took place in Mexico and were located near Mexico
City. So mainly they were stories held in Mexico and both did traditions in the same culture. Yeah I
could say that there wasn t extreme differences, but they do have some similarities hiding in the back.
You just have to read about it and think really

The Walt Disney Corporation
The Walt Disney Corporation was founded in 1923 under the name Disney Brothers Cartoon Studio
by brothers Walt and Roy Disney. The company brandished its current name in 1986 after the death of
Walt Disney (1). This company like other large conglomerates has a vice grip on the flow of
information that reaches consumers like you and me. Some people believe that having these
corporations constricting our access to information leads to a generation of uninformed people, but in
the day and age when anybody can get onto to google and search with specific enough criteria to find
articles proving any stand point... they were going to be uninformed any way. For example, there are

For example, The Walt Disney Corporation owns more channels than just the ones that share its
namesake. These companies include: ABC broadcast network, Disney Channel, Freeform publishing,
The History Channel, Lifetime Movie Network, Marvel Studios, Pixar Studios, AND a 32% holding
of Hulu, an 80% holding of ESPN Inc., and 50% holding of A E. If you didn t know the name by now,
then it should be painfully obvious at this point. The scarier thing is that each of the networks listed
has even more subsidiaries that add to the reach of Disney. One example is ESPN Inc., it owns ESPN,
ESPN2, ESPN3, ESPN on ABC, ESPNews, ESPN Deportes, ESPN Films, ESPNU, ESPN Classic,
ESPN Now, SEC Network, and ESPN The Magazine... just to name a few (6).
Disney is known for that Iconic shape of one specific cartoon mouse, the symbol it s self has changed
as the years go on but Mickey Mouse s head/ silhouette is always an easily recognizable logo for a
company that everyone knows. The logo was originally adopted in 1991, 63 years after the original
Steamboat Willie was produced (1). This was one of the many firsts for Disney allowing them to
maintain their status of a multimedia powerhouse of the US. The very first completely animated
feature length film was produced by Disney in 1937, you may have heard of it, Snow White and the
Seven Dwarfs. No one has ever even attempted anything like this

Watchman Nee s Theory
This study is mainly historical and theological research examining the thought and teachings of
Watchman Nee on the doctrine of the church. Gregory Bolich presented eight phases as a
methodological model of a historical study. Following these eight phases, this study consists of 1)
definition of the object and scope of research; 2) collection of data from the relevant sources; 3)
selection appropriate documents; 4) organization of materials under each category; 5) analysis of data
in search for answers to research questions; 6) interpretation of the analyzed data; 7) evaluation of the
interpreted data; and 8) report of the research conclusions. The first phase of this study has been

Primary sources, mainly employed in this study, comprise works written by Watchman Nee, including
his sermons, talks, and notes. It is noticed that Nee mostly talked about missions (or Nee calls it, the
work ) in The Normal Christian Church Life (the Collective Works of Watchman Nee, Vol. 30), also
entitled as Rethinking the Work or Concerning Our Missions. This volume dramatically helps the
readers understand Nee s thoughts and teachings on ecclesiology.
Secondary sources are the writings about Watchman Nee and his teachings. There are biographical
accounts on Nee: Leslie T. Lyall s Three of China s Mighty Men; Angus I. Kinnear s Against the Tide;
Stephen C. T. Chan s My Uncle, Watchman Nee; and, Lily M. Hsu, My Unforgettable Memories:

Nature And Causes Of Crime
The Nature and Causes of Crime
Jacob N Zucker
Grantham University
CJ102
Developmental theory is the view that criminality is a dynamic process, influenced by social
experiences as well as individual characteristics (Siegel, 2014, p. 228). This theory includes three
views of criminal career development. The first being the life course theory which is a theory that
focuses on changes in criminality over the life course brought about by shifts in experience and life
events (Siegel, 2014, p. 228). The second being propensity theory which is the view that a stable
unchanging feature, characteristic, property, or condition, such as defective intelligence or impulsive
personality, makes some people crime prone (Siegel, 2014, p. 228). The third view is the trajectory
theory. Trajectory theory is the view that there are multiple independent paths to a criminal career and
that there are different types and classes of offenders (Siegel, 2014, p. 228). Life course theory merges
the concepts of historical inheritance with cultural expectation and personal development, which in
turn sociologists study to map the course of human behavior given different social interaction and
stimulation (Crossman, 2017). This theory suggests that people begin engaging in criminal activity
due to their experiences and life events. In other words, sociological events and a person s upbringing
will determine the outcome of their criminal behavior. For example, if a child is

The Flappers Of The 1920 s
Roaring Twenties. The end of WW1 resulted in a new era in which people with money wanted to
enjoy themselves. The U.S economy was booming, profits were increased, resulting in the Roaring
Twenties. The events of WW1 had left many young women disillusioned and led them to question
traditional morality and values which resulted in the rebellious behavior of the Flappers (Henderson).
The increase in leisure time provided people the ability to dance, and listen to the up and coming jazz.
The Flappers of the 1920 s represented Modernism and typified the clash of values and the changing
status of women of the new era. Most women in the 1920s, not just the young Flappers, abandoned
traditional, restrictive women s clothes, such as long dresses and tight corsets, to free themselves of
the shackles of the Victorian era. The free spirited Flappers cut their hair, listened to jazz and
scandalized the older generation (Bode 134). The independent and unconventional attitudes of the
Flappers challenged the traditional ideas by wearing short skirts, bobbed hairstyles, make up and
cosmetics. Flappers began drinking and smoking in public and became more promiscuous during the
1920 s.
Women were much more than just staying home with their kids and doing house work. They become
independent both financially and literally. They worked hard for the same or greater equality as men.
All this brought them much much closer to their goal. In the 1920 s the term flapper referred to a new

Essay about Rhetoric vs. Truth
The relationship between rhetoric and truth is a highly conflicted topic. Two philosophers that discuss
this topic are Plato and Nietzsche. Plato argues that rhetoric is merely a useful craft that deals only in
the subjective and material world rather than in the pursuit of true knowledge. Nietzsche, on the other
hand, argues that absolute truths are unobtainable since individuals are incapable of being completely
objective, thereby rendering the debate between rhetoric and truth meaningless. Although both are
valid points of view, Nietzsche s argument appears to hold more weight insofar as it seems to solve the
debate between rhetoric and truth by eliminating absolute truth altogether. To begin, Plato s view of
rhetoric stems from ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is one of the reasons why he believes that rhetoric is not synonymous with truth. Plato argues
against rhetoric because it deals in the material world, which is not the place where ideas exist, nor
does it attempt to attain truth. Rhetoric is more or less, the flawed knowledge of the world being
manipulated by language for everyday matters, such as politics and law, rather than being used in the
pursuit of absolute truths. Rhetoric is therefore useless. He furthers his argument against rhetoric in his
dialogue Gorgias. In Plato s Gorgias, he argues that rhetoric is untruthful by being based on belief, as
well as having the potential for manipulation and deception. In the dialogue, Plato has Socrates
distinguish between true knowledge and belief. He argues that there can be false as well as true
beliefs, however, there is only true knowledge one is concrete while the other is changeable and
unpredictable. Hence, it follows that knowledge and belief are associated and utilized in different
professions and subject areas. So, Socrates has Gorgias admit that rhetoric is limited to the fields of
politics and law, which he argues deal in persuasion that is based on belief as oppose to instructing
about a true knowledge of right and wrong. For example, an orator or lawyer may induce a belief
about justice, but cannot actually convey a true

Abigail Adams Essays
Abigail Adams
Abigail Adams was and still is a hero and idle for many women in the United States. As the wife of
John Adams, Abigail used her position to bring forth her own strong federalist and strong feminist
views. Mrs. Adams was one of the earliest feminists and will always influence today s women.
Abigail Adams was born Abigail Smith in 1744 at Weymouth, Massachusetts. She was a descendent
of the Qunicys , a very prestigious family in the colonies, on her mothers side. On her fathers side
Abigail was a descendent of Congressional Ministers. During a time when women did not receive a
formal education, her grandmother at home taught Abigail. Her eagerness to learn and to read is what

If perticular care and attention is not paid to the ladies we are determined to foment a rebellion, and
will not hold ourselves bound by any laws in which we have no voice, or representation.
The reaction of John Adams was less than satisfactory. He responded by telling Abigail that he had
laughed at her request. He called her letter saucy and told her he had more to deal with than the
request of women.
This angered Abigail and she wrote to Mercy Otis Warren on April 27, 1776:
He is very saucy to me in return for a List of Female Grievances which I transmitted to him. I think I
will get you to join me in a petition to congress. I thought it was very probable our wise statesmen
would erect a new government and form a new code of laws. I ventured to speak a word on behalf of
our sex, who are rather hardly dealt with by the laws of England which gives such unlimited power to
the husband to use his wife.
I believe I even threatened formenting a Rebellion in case we were not considered and assured him we
would not hold ourselves bound by any laws in which we had neither a voice nor representation.
This letter is a fine example of Abigail Adams strong feminist and strong federalist views. These
letters represented the turmoil felt by women during the uncertain times facing the colonies. The views
of Abigail Adams became the first in a long line of cries out for women s equality.

Difference Between Errgonomic And Non Ergonimic Carrier
The carriers are generally devided into two groups : ergonomic and non ergonomic.
Non ergonomic carrier is a type of carrying tool, which disregards the right position of the baby when
it comes to the health point of view. On the other side, ergonomic carrier is made in a way to place the
baby into a position, that properly supports the entire body and healthy body development. This is the
main difference between ergo and non ergonomic carriers. You can easily distinguish them on the first
glance. In ergonimic carrier, the baby is facing the parent s body, has a rounded back, legs stretched
wide and supported all the way to the knees. In the second case, the child is turned back to the parent,
which does not allow him to have a properly rounded back, he is facing forwards and his legs are
loosely down.If the word kanguru came to your mind, then you are right. You won t find it in our
selection, because it s a non ergonomic carrier.
Let s talk a bit more about individual ergonomic carriers.

Pluralism In America
America is no longer a primarily Christian nation. This has manifested itself in a multitude of ways,
including but not limited to: rampant sexual immorality, abuse of mind altering substances, disregard
for human life, and an overall hatred of the concept of authority. All of these things stem back to a
faulty understanding of the Biblical concept of Salvation. This faulty understanding ultimately has
existed since the beginning of Christianity. All throughout church history, the false teaching regarding
man s spiritual condition has reared its ugly head. One of the first recorded false teachers in this area
was a British monk by the name of Pelagius. Pelagius taught that man is inherently good and that the
sacrifice of Christ was ultimately ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We think that Jesus was just a good teacher, or an example we should follow, and all we have to do is
simply live a good life and we will get to heaven. This is false on so many levels. But it is not the only
heresy in which we have to deal with to get to the root of American unbelief and/or nominalism. The
next heresy that we must cover is that of pluralism . Religious pluralism is the belief that all roads lead
to heaven. This belief has been propagated by such prominent figures such as, Barack Obama, Oprah
Winfrey, Joel Osteen, and Pope Francis. This is a toxic idea that upon reaching its conclusion, destroys
truth. If everything is true, then why believe anything at all? Now we must move to the final heresy
plaguing America. The final heresy that America has at large fallen prey to, is that of antinomianism,
or easy believeism which has been propagated by such men as Charles Ryrie, and Billy Graham. This
believe purports that all one needs to do to enter the kingdom is to simply believe historical facts
about Jesus and you will be saved. It is often adjoined to a sinner s prayer that is repeated en masse,
and then the person who repeated the prayer is then told that they are saved and their ticket is punched
for heaven. This is a damnable heresy from the pits of hell. The Bible no more teaches antinomianism
than it does homosexuality. So what does the Bible

Homeschooling vs. Public School Essay
Homeschooling vs. Public School Homeschooling vs. public school has been a public debate for quite
a while now. Some parents choose homeschooling because of the protection their child gains and
some choose public education because of the atmosphere. Most would claim that public schools aren t
teaching, less trying to create a religious fringe. However; both provide your child education but there
are many advantages and disadvantages for both. When a child is homeschooled, parents naturally
take a greater interest in their child s progress and they have a better oversight of grades. A student
that s attending home school can work at their own pace without feeling rushed to complete
assignments and the test ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Students who attend public school also tend to do better when they get to college. Even when the
funding for school becomes difficult, public school offers more extracurricular activities and
resources. There are several after school programs available for children, his is another way that your
child learn social skills by interacting. The number of students in a public school classroom provides
opportunities that don t exist in most home schools, from large scale projects to team sports. One may
offer a more controlled environment for your child, while the other may expose him or her to a world
of things you could not possibly imagine. Homeschooling, while sometimes more fun, simply cannot
be guaranteed to uphold the necessary educational standards. Public schools will always meet these
standards. You may find it difficult to choose between the two. Making the right choice depends upon
how your child learns, and what you won t them to learn. Teachers are doing their jobs, society try to
make it hard for teachers by cutting pay and not giving enough funding for materials, but they still
seem to make a way to teach our children morals. Some teachers in public school even take time out
to help some of the children that they see are headed for a road of destruction. The difference are
really plain as day, homeschooling cuts them off from society and public school bridges them with the
society so they can be able to face

  • 2. The Religious Place Of Worship I Attended Identification: The religious place of worship I attended was a Jewish institution. The denomination was a reform Jewish Synagogue, and the name of the place of worship was called Temple Israel and is located at 2310 Virginia Drive, Ottawa, Ontario Canada, K2C 1N2. I attended the Saturday Shabbat service on September 26, 2015 at 10:15am and ran till 11:45. As people entered in Temple Israel they hand them a prayer book called Mishkan T filah, and sheet that says Ten Commandments Of Synagogue Etiquette the ten commandments follows 1. Respect the Sanctuary as a place of prayer, reflection and joyous worship, 2. Be respectful in your behaviour and dress, 3. Join us in prayer and not in side conversations, 4. Treat the Siddurim with respect, 5. No cell phones or PDA s use in the sanctuary, 6. No texting during the service, 7. No photography, 8. No eating, drinking, or gum chewing in the sanctuary, 9. Wish your neighbor Shabbat Shalom, 10. Have a joyous Shabbat. The Mishkan T filah is written in Hebrew with English translations. Building: The outside building is a light dirt colour brown all around, the building is one story with a basement. The door is a large wooden rectangle under a brick arc. The entrance into the synagogue was filled with books shelves, with a front desk, there was a display of the tree of life on the south wall. • 3. ANZAC Day Essay Each year, ANZAC (Australian and New Zealand Army Corps) day is celebrated to pay tribute to the troops who landed at Gallipoli with the intent to capture the peninsula on 25 April 1915. (Cama, 2015) Soon after its official naming in 1916, ANZAC came to refer to any and all Australians and New Zealanders who took part in World War I, and the day has become a time for reflection, as well as a symbol of mateship, sacrifice and nationalism. The Gallipoli campaign was the first major military action shared by Australians and New Zealanders, and it was a campaign that lasted eight months, with more than 8 000 Australians having been killed in action. Because of this, it had lasting effects on the nation as a whole, hence why it is commemorated each year. Those who had served in the campaign were also irrevocably changed by the experiences they d ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Trauma challenges an individual s sense of security, and may cause issues with trust, closeness, and communication, aspects which can significantly change the way a person acts around others (Muscari, 2012). Feelings of vulnerability and lack of safety that is caused by the source of the trauma can make those affected by it act in a way uncharacteristic to them before the war, such as becoming easy to anger, feeling shame or guilt. One may also argue that because of the negative connotations linked with having a mental illness, soldiers who came home from the Gallipoli campaign would refuse to be treated had they been given the option to. During my accounting career I have been employed by organizations in a variety of industries from retail, sales, service, hospitality and currently a satellite services provider. My personal experience over the years is a slow growth in diversity within the accounting profession. Even with an increase in woman and people from various ethnic groups attaining accounting degrees there is still a lack of leadership roles in the accounting profession. There is an increasing change in demographics but organizations lack leadership in accounting to representing the increasing diverse demographics. Organizations recruit and can maintain talent but lack ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For some organizations diversity training is limited to informative programs, providing networking avenues and sensitivity training. While some organizations wholly embrace incorporating diversity as paving the road for the organizations future success. The Bureau of Labor Statistics report dated August 2014 states that for 2013 out of the total employed in the category of Accountants and Auditors 77.8% White, 8.6% Black / African American, 11.9% Asian and 7.3% Hispanic. These numbers far from represent the face of clients accounting professionals are currently managing. Corporate diversity programs are visible to employees and easily accessible. Corporate efforts and accomplishments in strategic planning and implementation of programs are publicly celebrated. Yet labor statistics demonstrate recruiting and maintaining talented diverse employees in the profession of accounting is a current and ongoing challenge. Based on a 2013 survey diversity in accounting is lagging with only about 25% of ethnically diverse employees in the accounting profession. • 5. What Are The Five Major Functions That A Load Balancer... By definition load balancing means the ability to spread the load of processing for an application over a number of separate systems for an overall performance increase in processing in coming requests. This seems very simple and conceptual very easy to think about the process; just splitting up the load helps it get done faster. But although this concept may seem simple enough, there are many factors that can add heavy levels of complexity. For example, anyone who has ever managed large groups of people in the Army can attest to that. There are five major functions that a load balancer performs: Intercepts network based traffic (such as web traffic) destined for a site. Splits the traffic into individual requests and decides which ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When servers were pushed to their limits the initial thought process was to beef up the system such as adding more ram, upping the processor, and increasing the storage space. However these measure only took the scaling so far. At some point, you would have again maxed out all the hardware platform and its capability. Also beefing up the server meant substantial down time and in the exploding world of commerce that was not a viable option. Before Server Load Balancing was a technology or a viable product, site administrators would and employ a load balancing process known as a DNS round robin. DNS round robin uses a function of DNS that allows more than one IP address to associate with a host name. Every DNS entry has what is known as an A record, which maps a hostname, such as www.example.com to an IP address, such as 111.222.333.444. Usually only one IP address is given to a hostname. With DNS round robin, it is possible to give multiple IP addresses to a host name distributing traffic more or less evenly to listed IP addresses. For instance, let s say you had three web servers with IP addresses of 111.222.333.444, 111.222.333.445, and 111.222.333.446 that we wanted to share the load for the site www.example.com. The end result is that the traffic destined for www.example.com is distributed ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. History of the Perfect Number The perfect number is a positive integer that is equal to the sum of its proper divisors. Earlier definitions of a perfect number were aliquot parts of a number. An aliquot part means a proper quotient of a number. According to Webster s dictionary, the term perfect number was first used in the 14th century. The discovery of such numbers was lost in prehistory. The smallest perfect number is six. It is the sum of its divisors one, two, and three. Other perfect numbers are twenty eight, 128, and 496. In the paragraphs below I will talk about the history of the perfect number and Euclid s theorem and the founder of the perfect number. The first four perfect numbers were known to the ancients Greeks over 2,000 years ago. Some cultures back then gave mystic interpretations to the numbers and thought they were magic. The first four perfect numbers were six, twenty eight, 496, and 8,128. Of the two dozen perfect numbers now known, all of them are even numbers. If there are any odd perfect numbers they are quite big, are well over 300 digits long, and have multiple prime factors. The ancient Christian scholar Augustine said, ‟That God could have created the world in an instant but he chose to do it in a perfect number of six days. Many times the twenty eight day cycle of the moon around the earth was given as an example of a Heavenly or a perfect event that naturally was a perfect number. The number six is perfect in itself. • 8. Key Themes Of Political Power In Machiavelli s Richard II Political power does not come from an army, or a full treasury. Instead, it comes from the subjects, or the people. If the people like a ruler, or leader, it gives them power to act, largely, however they please, but, if the ruler is not well liked, not only does the ruler lose the ability to act, even within the law, but they are much more likely to lose their throne. Throughout Richard II political staging is a means to obtain power, both successfully, and unsuccessfully. In doing so, it reveals the identity of the characters and how they view the world and their place in it. It also demonstrates the problem that power presents, and how it can be hard to wear a political mask, and retain something that is fundamentally individual. In Machiavelli s The Prince, he outlines and ideal ruler, and how they would act, and the best ways to seize power. One of the key themes that underlies this work, is that power comes from the people, not divine right, or inheritance. This question of where power comes from, is also present in Richard II, and it plays out both literally and intellectually within the play. Power from the people, plays out literally in the play, when Henry, works to win people over, so that he can overthrow Richard. Later on in the play, Richard realizes that power comes from the people and not from divine right, and realizes that he has screwed up, and lost the bit of power that he did have. Machiavelli also discusses the importance of appearances. For example, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. First Opium War Research Paper Good morning class and Mrs Bennett. The Hypothesis for this topic is that the First Opium War caused problems in society because the criminal rate increased, as well as the local consumption of the drug. This presentation will be discussing mainly what opium is, what the first opium war was, and why it started. The Opium War was a battle in China that occurred during the mid 19th century. This war was between western countries, such as Britain, and the Qing Dynasty, which ruled China between 1644 and 1911. The First Opium War was conducted from 1839 to 1842, and was between China and Britain. The reasoning for the war occurring was caused by China s attempts to withhold the Opium trade. It was over diplomatic relations, trade, and the administration of foreign nationals in China. Opium was illegally being imported into China, through India, by the British. They grew the opium on their plantations in India. At first, the British were addicted to stimulating Chinese tea. Trade imbalance occurred due to the Chinese buying few European products and demanding Gold or Silver in return. The reverse flow of Silver and the increasing number of opium addicts alarmed Chinese officials, and resulted in over 20,000 chests of opium to be confiscated. As opium was being imported into china, it caused unrest in society, the local consumption to increase, and the decrease in the price of the drug. Being a stimulant drug, Opium spread throughout the country, badly affecting its nation. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 10. Teacher Identity And Identity Merriam Webster s Dictionary defines identity as the distinguishing character or personality of an individual. Teacher identity implies both a cognitive psychological and sociological perspective: people develop their identity in interaction with other people, but they express their professional identity in perceptions of who they are and who they want to become as a result of this interaction. (Bejaard 2006). I come from a middle class family of six, with two parents with only a high school diploma. My father Immigrated to America in the early 1940 s from Puerto Rico, while my mom was born in the Bronx N.Y and is African American and Bajan decent. I was born in the Bronx in the early seventies, and raised in Suffolk County Long island during the early eighties. I grew up in a small community called Gordon Heights which is a predominantly African American Neighborhood in Coram NY. This small community was surrounded smaller towns in Suffolk county New York mainly composed of Families of Italian, German Jewish descent. Growing up we spent our weekends and summers in the Bronx and Spanish Harlem, which allow my siblings and I to stay in touch with our Afro Latino roots. Attending school on long Island in comparison to NY city schools, was a blessing of sorts because the quality of education was better. This is where I learned to develop relationships with people of all races, even though we were in the minority. Keeping in touch with our communities in Bronx Harlem, during my senior year in High School was able to join a program called The International Youth Leadership Institute, sponsored by Teachers College and Columbia University. Through this program, in which I was fortunate to be a part of, is where opportunity to travel outside the United States to Senegal, West Africa. This experience changed my life forever in which I now see the world through a different lens. At an early age in life, the elders of the family always taught us about the African history and what it means to be of the African Diaspora. I had a firsthand experience of visiting slave holding cells and seeing the door of no return In Goree Island, Senegal. Through this trip I was able to understand the effects of ... • 11. Epistemological And Psychological Views Of Divorce Epistemological and Psychological Views of Divorce This paper looks at divorce from different perspectives of thought. By using personal experience, critical thinking and Christian integration I am able to evaluate the implications of divorce. Marriage is a vow intended to be kept, and when a couple decides to separate it detaches from God s perfect will for their lives. From a sociological standpoint divorce can effect kids, government policies and communities. Divorce does not only effect the couple but people outside of it. The rate of separation is so prevalent that society accepts this as a social norm. The goal of my paper is to prove that divorcing is not beneficial for long term happiness or mental health. Identifying the solutions through a struggling marriage by epistemological thought and psychology will ultimately decline the rate of divorce. The concept of divorce can be understood through reason, empirical investigation and revelation. By reason, one can assume that divorce will not lead to happiness but to loneliness and uncertainty. This paper will further explore empirical investigation which has assessed that divorce will not guarantee true satisfaction or contentment. Through the testimonies of many, their experience has led to a revelation of truth in their lives, and the true meaning of marriage. • 16. Definition Of Customary International Law Within the scope of customary international law there are some varying norms that the international law community must deal with, which can be broken down into three different categories from most important to least important: 1) norms in which the international community allows no derogation, these are known as peremptory norms or jus cogens, 2) norms that might allow for derogation, and 3) norms that aren t binding but some might argue should be. The classification of these customary norms is based off of both state practice and opinio juris. In order to determine state practice the states may look towards each other and how they react in similar scenarios. One debate surrounding this area is determining how many states need to sign off on an action to determine that sufficient state practice is occurring. Two sides of the argument are the actual number states versus the regionalization of the states. Opinio juris is defined as a state engaging in a certain activity because they believe they are under legal obligation to act. The idea of peremptory norms is older than modern international law itself (113). The idea of peremptory norms stems from the belief that certain actions are so heinous that in order for these to be prevented states shall not be allowed to derogate from adherence. The Vienna Convention on the Law of Treaties shows the importance of peremptory norms in both Article 53 and 64. Article 53 states that a treaty is void if at the time of its ... The first example of this is when we hear the voice recording of Kurtz in the jungle. He talks about his nightmare where he sees a snail crawling along the edge of a straight razor . So before children learn to read, they must understand the sounds that are paired with the letter are the same as the sounds of speech they hear . For those of us who already know how to read and write, this realization seems very basic, almost transparent as cited by Adams, Foorman, Lundberg Beeler (1998). However, research tells us the spoken language is a sequence of little sounds that is not natural to humans. • 21. The Dangers Of Mass Shootings Mass Shootings There is no question that mass shootings are happening more frequently. The question is are they happening to often? They have become more common, but have always been a problem in the world. Shootings have been happening since the invention of guns, but as we come closer to our era mass shootings have been happening more regularly. These shootings need to be stopped and put an end to. But how can we as a whole all come together and put an end to it? The statistics and facts that are going to be used give valid reasons to where the shootings take place, how it happens and the number of casualties and lives taken from these shootings. Mass shootings have recently become more frequent and more deadly over the years. Living in the U.S. we have lived through at least fifty years of mass shootings and a variation of tragedies. A mass shooting is when a gunman shoots or kills four or more people in the same general time and location. The three most deadly shootings that have occurred in the U.S. in the past ten years are Las Vegas attack (at least 58 killed), Virgina Tech massacre (32 killed), Orlando nightclub shooting(49 dead) (Willingham). These shootings exemplify the lack of control that we have over guns and the type of people that have possession of the guns. If we want to try to control the type of people who can own a gun, then the government should keep updated on the people who buy bigger guns with more rounds and do mental background checks. The researchers also found that most mass murderers suffered from some mental instability, though they usually weren t flagged by mental health specialists or law enforcement. And military style rifles were used in 18 of the 66 mass public shootings in the most recent 15 year period the researchers studied (Shastry, Anjali). If a person has possession a military style rifle that should automatically redflag the government. Some of the main reasons that these things happen are because the government or law enforcement don t keep tabs on these people. Media today plays a big part in the mass shootings believe it or not. Media contagion is largely responsible for the increase in these often deadly outbursts (Media Contagion). By showing the number ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Nature And Causes Of Crime The Nature and Causes of Crime Jacob N Zucker Grantham University CJ102 Developmental theory is the view that criminality is a dynamic process, influenced by social experiences as well as individual characteristics (Siegel, 2014, p. 228). This theory includes three views of criminal career development. The first being the life course theory which is a theory that focuses on changes in criminality over the life course brought about by shifts in experience and life events (Siegel, 2014, p. 228). The second being propensity theory which is the view that a stable unchanging feature, characteristic, property, or condition, such as defective intelligence or impulsive personality, makes some people crime prone (Siegel, 2014, p. 228). The third view is the trajectory theory. Trajectory theory is the view that there are multiple independent paths to a criminal career and that there are different types and classes of offenders (Siegel, 2014, p. 228). Life course theory merges the concepts of historical inheritance with cultural expectation and personal development, which in turn sociologists study to map the course of human behavior given different social interaction and stimulation (Crossman, 2017). This theory suggests that people begin engaging in criminal activity due to their experiences and life events. In other words, sociological events and a person s upbringing will determine the outcome of their criminal behavior. For example, if a child is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The U.S economy was booming, profits were increased, resulting in the Roaring Twenties. The events of WW1 had left many young women disillusioned and led them to question traditional morality and values which resulted in the rebellious behavior of the Flappers (Henderson). The increase in leisure time provided people the ability to dance, and listen to the up and coming jazz. The Flappers of the 1920 s represented Modernism and typified the clash of values and the changing status of women of the new era. Most women in the 1920s, not just the young Flappers, abandoned traditional, restrictive women s clothes, such as long dresses and tight corsets, to free themselves of the shackles of the Victorian era. The free spirited Flappers cut their hair, listened to jazz and scandalized the older generation (Bode 134). The independent and unconventional attitudes of the Flappers challenged the traditional ideas by wearing short skirts, bobbed hairstyles, make up and cosmetics. Plato argues that rhetoric is merely a useful craft that deals only in the subjective and material world rather than in the pursuit of true knowledge. Nietzsche, on the other hand, argues that absolute truths are unobtainable since individuals are incapable of being completely objective, thereby rendering the debate between rhetoric and truth meaningless. Although both are valid points of view, Nietzsche s argument appears to hold more weight insofar as it seems to solve the debate between rhetoric and truth by eliminating absolute truth altogether. To begin, Plato s view of rhetoric stems from ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is one of the reasons why he believes that rhetoric is not synonymous with truth. Plato argues against rhetoric because it deals in the material world, which is not the place where ideas exist, nor does it attempt to attain truth. Rhetoric is more or less, the flawed knowledge of the world being manipulated by language for everyday matters, such as politics and law, rather than being used in the pursuit of absolute truths. Rhetoric is therefore useless. He furthers his argument against rhetoric in his dialogue Gorgias. In Plato s Gorgias, he argues that rhetoric is untruthful by being based on belief, as well as having the potential for manipulation and deception. In the dialogue, Plato has Socrates distinguish between true knowledge and belief. He argues that there can be false as well as true beliefs, however, there is only true knowledge one is concrete while the other is changeable and unpredictable. Hence, it follows that knowledge and belief are associated and utilized in different professions and subject areas. So, Socrates has Gorgias admit that rhetoric is limited to the fields of politics and law, which he argues deal in persuasion that is based on belief as oppose to instructing about a true knowledge of right and wrong. • 31. Pluralism In America America is no longer a primarily Christian nation. This has manifested itself in a multitude of ways, including but not limited to: rampant sexual immorality, abuse of mind altering substances, disregard for human life, and an overall hatred of the concept of authority. All of these things stem back to a faulty understanding of the Biblical concept of Salvation. This faulty understanding ultimately has existed since the beginning of Christianity. All throughout church history, the false teaching regarding man s spiritual condition has reared its ugly head. One of the first recorded false teachers in this area was a British monk by the name of Pelagius. Pelagius taught that man is inherently good and that the sacrifice of Christ was ultimately ... This is false on so many levels. But it is not the only heresy in which we have to deal with to get to the root of American unbelief and/or nominalism. The next heresy that we must cover is that of pluralism . Religious pluralism is the belief that all roads lead to heaven. This belief has been propagated by such prominent figures such as, Barack Obama, Oprah Winfrey, Joel Osteen, and Pope Francis. This is a toxic idea that upon reaching its conclusion, destroys truth. If everything is true, then why believe anything at all? Now we must move to the final heresy plaguing America. The final heresy that America has at large fallen prey to, is that of antinomianism, or easy believeism which has been propagated by such men as Charles Ryrie, and Billy Graham. This believe purports that all one needs to do to enter the kingdom is to simply believe historical facts about Jesus and you will be saved. It is often adjoined to a sinner s prayer that is repeated en masse, and then the person who repeated the prayer is then told that they are saved and their ticket is punched for heaven. This is a damnable heresy from the pits of hell. The Bible no more teaches antinomianism than it does homosexuality. So what does the Bible ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 32. Analysis Of Dunrobin Castle Day three of cramming as much of the Highlands as possible. I awoke with the birdies and dragged myself to the Kia. Six hours of driving and ten hours of adventuring sure makes you tired. Repeat steps from the last two days: fuel up and Redbull. Today the goal was to drive to John O Groats the northern most point of mainland United Kingdom. I didn t have anything planned in John O Groats. I was more interested in the road. The windy A9 would take me to the smaller coastal A99. I found a map that showed some typical, historical spots and with some help from Atlas Obscura I was rearing to have a busy day. The day was warm and sunny. Thank goodness, the weather held for my entire trip! As I approached Dunrobin Castle I thought I was just ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Clocking in at 5,000 years old the stone constructions show us modern folks perfect examples of round cairns and long cairns. Cairns are typically used as burial chambers. Upon excavation in the late 19th century the long cairn produced several human skeletons untouched but, in the round cairn archaeologists found human and animal bones which were all burned. Some parents choose homeschooling because of the protection their child gains and some choose public education because of the atmosphere. Most would claim that public schools aren t teaching, less trying to create a religious fringe. However; both provide your child education but there are many advantages and disadvantages for both. The number of students in a public school classroom provides opportunities that don t exist in most home schools, from large scale projects to team sports. One may offer a more controlled environment for your child, while the other may expose him or her to a world of things you could not possibly imagine. Homeschooling, while sometimes more fun, simply cannot be guaranteed to uphold the necessary educational standards. Public schools will always meet these standards. You may find it difficult to choose between the two. Making the right choice depends upon how your child learns, and what you won t them to learn. Teachers are doing their jobs, society try to make it hard for teachers by cutting pay and not giving enough funding for materials, but they still seem to make a way to teach our children morals.
