The main aim of this book is to help re define injustice but first we must ask ourselves what is social

accept duties as well as rights to each other and to society .
Dorling s book focuses on 5 main causes of injustice in todays modern world and how these 5 causes
have changed in comparison to what they were in the past. The path to a better future, these contend,
lies in a better understanding and appreciation of how the injustices of the past affect patterns of
oppression today (Spinner Halev, 2012, p.4). What was once seen as unfortunate many years ago has
now become what s known as unjust . Dorling does an excellent job of explaining what these 5 tenants
of injustice are and he does so in an easy to understand language whilst giving us examples of how
these 5 tenants have changed to prior years. Each tenant both past and present is briefly explained to
us in the introduction of the book, but Dorling delves deeper into each tenant in such greater detail in
later chapters. Each chapter shows us how these tenants affect/have affected certain domains within
our society.

In the novel the WINDFLOWER, there is a presence of two different cultures the western culture and
the Eskimo culture. In history, we as the readers know that aboriginals were cruelly treated and the
western people tried to assimilate their culture. Interestingly, the author, Gabrielle Roy decided to
portray a part of the Eskimos in the novel, WINDFLOWER, as assimilated to create conflict with
minor characters. The more notable characters that have been shown to defy the western cultures was
only Uncle Ian and Winnie. Even still, many of the Eskimos are shown to believe that the western
culture was the more dominant belief. The effect this had was that the interactions shown with the

are very similar and different. Theme, tone, and character development all help to compare and
contrast these memoirs. Both texts have a large amount of these literary devices. Bonne Année is
about a Haitian child who grows up and learns to love Haiti. He is the narrator of the story. At first, he
doesn t want to go back to Haiti after dictator François Duvalier (Papa Doc) leaves his country or the

partially responsible for the increased risk of developing health related problems within the elderly
population. I associated being old with decline, disability, disease and death. However, reflecting on

health, but it is also associated with wellness. My grandfather is 88 years old. I had always been lucky
