The Tourism Industry In The Hospitality Industry
According to the World Bank, the hospitality industry revenue has been the largest contribution to
the world GDP, for the sixth consecutive year, outdoing a total of 10.2% (US$7.6 Trillion) in the
year 2016. The hospitality industry currently employs around 292 million of people, and that
means that 1 in 10 jobs around the globe is linked to the hospitality industry (Oxford Economics for
World Travel Tourism
Council, 2017)
A good example of this is the Popular Republic of China, located in the Asia. According to the
World Bank, it s the most populated country in the world, leading the global rank with 1.3 Billion
of people (World Bank, 2016). With 7 billion people around the globe, China represents 20% of the
world s population.
However, how can this information relate to industry? China s domestic tourism industry has
earned about 3.9 trillion of yuans in 2016. That s approximately 563.6 billion of US dollars,
representing more than 10% of China overall GDP. It also has developed 10.2% of the entire
employment of the country (China National Tourism Administration, 2016).
Nevertheless, the inbound tourism has decreased since 2007 due to problems such as currency
fluctuation which makes tourists considerate other locations, corruption, bad government
reputation, the lack of novelty and competitiveness and the polluted environment. These are some
of the problems that inbound tourism has been facing for the past ten years. The Chinese
government has been working on the

Honey Badgers Research Paper
Their skin is thick and tough. Arrows, spears, and bites from other animals can rarely pierce it.
Small bullets can t even penetrate it. Not only is their skin thick and tough, it is also loose. This
allows them to twist and turn to attack while another animal is gripping them. The only safe grip
one can get on a honey badgeris on the back of their necks.
P 3.Honey badgers have long, sharp claws. These claws are good for attacking and even better
for digging. Honey badgers are some of nature s most skilled diggers. They can dig a nine foot
tunnel into hard ground in about 10 minutes. They love to catch a meal by digging up the burrows
of frogs, rodents, and cobras. They also use their digging skills to create their homes. They live in

1. What permissions/authorities should you have before you search Mr. Yourprop s former
Company work area, and how would you document that authority?
Generally speaking, an employer can search an employee s desk or work area without expecting
any legal repercussions. The desk is property of the employer, therefore the employee should not
be entitled to a reasonable expectation of privacy in their work area (Privacy at Work: What Are
Your Rights?, 2015). Even though this is generally the case, its best practice, by and large, to have

BitLocker Drive Encryption (Microsoft, 2015). To collect and transport as evidence, place the USB
Flash Drive into a static shock protective bag (U.S. Dept of Homeland Security, U.S. Secret
Service, 2007). Document any make, model, or serial number designations on the device. The
hard drive on the desk would be a good third source of digital evidence to seize. Assuming this
hard drive is used for additional storage (i.e. does not have an Operating System on it), it would
contain data similar to that which would ve been on the USB Flash Drive: documents, images,
videos, and maybe even some software files. Documentation should be done on the make, model,
serial number and type (e.g. SATA, IDE, SCSI) of hard drive. For transportation, again, place into a
static shock protective bag. Remember to keep the hard drive away from anything magnetic as the
platters that are inside the hard drive are magnetically charged (U.S. Department of Justice, 2008).

Virginia Woolf Two Cafeterias
Two Cafeterias , by Virginia Woolf, was written showing an underlying message of how different
men and woman are treated in this culture. Using words, descriptions, and tones Woolf expresses
to the reader how insignificant woman in this day are made to feel. Woolf shows throughout the
entire piece that the men of this society are treated to nothing less than invariably memorable
luncheon parties while woman are downgraded to dinner in the dining room. By showing the
different standards in which society holds men and woman during something as simple as a
meal, Woolf undeniably succeeds in showing the low level in which woman stand during this
time. The men s meal is one that leaves Woolf feeling as though we are all going to heaven. She
lists off the potatoes being thin as coins, sprouts foliated as rosebuds , and pudding so good that if
it were otherwise related to rice and tapioca would be nothing less than completely downgrading.
The luncheon party was so proper that them speaking of what was being eaten was unacceptable.
The men were greeted with things such as serving men and cushioned window seats for they are
considered to be the most vital in their society. Their attitude was nothing less then snobbish for
they were made to feel so high. Treated inferior to woman, and they sought to believe it themselves.

How Did Rene Descartes Use Methodic Doubt
Rene Descartes was first and for most a mathematician, and when coming up with his new
mathematic theories he wanted to create a method to make knowledge completely certain and
undoubtable by his critics, through his knowledge of philosophy he came up with methodic doubt.
Methodic doubt is a way of finding out what knowledge can be trusted (essentially undoubtable
knowledge) by systematically doubting everything. Descartes used methodic doubt because he
believed that if we say that we know and understand reality or existence that our claim to knowing
that must be based on irrefutable evidence rather then just assumption. He likened it to taking a
barrel of apples, going through them one by one and putting the sound ones back . Therefore
Descartes went about using methodic doubt as a way to create a firm foundation for these beliefs
by first doubting all knowledge, reality and our own existence. In his first meditation Descartes
doubts all our senses saying that there is no way to prove that they are not... Show more content on

His procedure of doubting the senses can be defended in part because although one can doubt
the sense s because there is no way to prove that they are not deceiving us, Descartes gives proof
of this argument when he gives the sample of objects appearing differently when they are far
away from us. But this argument is flawed because we know that we are being deceived by our
senses in this case because we know when our senses are wrong only because we also know when
they are right and that we are not being

Long Distance Relationship Essay
Long distance relationships can be a pain. The word distance is why. Many individuals who have
been in a relationship since high school are trying to continue their relationship in separate colleges.
When being in a long distance relationship some of the love can become lost, unless it is true love.
Although, many people think that long distance relationships are impossible to maintain, there are
solutions to this problem for college students who are separated by distance.
A problem that many people do not realize until they reach college is the distance of a previous
relationship. A long distance relationship can be defined as a relationship where two individuals are
separate from each other. Many young relationships begin the freshman year of high school and
some even make it to the senior year which is when things start going South. The problem begins
once college acceptance letters comes both people go separate ways. In many cases the two
people involved have views that differ as far as school goes which then causes turmoil when one
decides to go to school out of state in which they reside. Through having trust, in a college
relationship the both of the individuals have to be open with one another about what is going on
while at college. Though it is not a guarantee that he or she will always tell the truth if they really
know the person they are romantically involved with he or she will know if they are telling them
lies to spare their heart. Many times, young

Inequality in Latin America Essay
Although Latin America has faced many social, political, and economic issues within the last three
centuries, inequality remains one of the most important, historical, and omnipresent aspects of the
region s culture. As Europeans took over Latin America during the time of colonization, they
implemented many elitist social structures that have held strong and are evident today (Harris).
Income inequality is the most visible and greatest disparity that the region faces; yet inequality
between gender, ethnicities, and education remain strong and significant problems with a necessity
for improvement. Inequality of wealth and disparity of power and influence are Latin American s
greatest curses and are at the root of many of the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Only few Europeans came over to colonize, but their human capital, technology, wealth, and legal
and economic institutions made it effortless to take control. Spain emerged as the leader in
colonizing the New World and implemented encomiendas, aiding certain elites and giving little to
the rest of the population. The Catholic Church, fueling Spain and Portugal s exclusive ownership
of land, led to social mobility and acquisition of titles. Led by elites, the Church had favorable
settler condition and acquired land in order to gain immense wealth and express their position of
elitism (Harris). The prompt initial land inequality fostered concentrated political power as well.
Elites controlled the governments in order to protect their interests and diminish all possibilities of
shifts of power to the lower classes (De Ferranti). After many countries in Latin America received
their independence, limited change of conditions occurred and the elite maintained control in the
new republics. The basis for economic inequality remained the same and the patterns persisted. In
the early 19th century, the majority of countries had developed republican democracies yet the
upper class still had the power to act in their own interests. A direct bearing established the extent of
the elite s ability to influence the formation of government policies. Landowners opposed any
institutional change that could transfer power

Essay on The American Mission
Issue one from the McKenna text presents two divergent political philosophies from Humanities
professor Wilfred M. McClay and Historian Howard Zinn regarding the concept of American
exceptionalism. McClay and Zinn provide convincing arguments as they support their contrasting
viewpoints with key examples from American history on the question, Should Americans believe in
a unique American mission? On one hand, McClay offers a belief in the unique American mission
as interconnecting with our Founding Fathers through divine providentialism. On the other hand,
Zinn rejects this notion asserting that restraint from the mythical belief of American exceptionalism
will suppress combative desires. Professor McClay believes that... Show more content on

The ethnic cleansing of Pequot tribesmen by Captain John Mason during the 1630s and the
military excursions into the Philippines, Cuba, and Hispaniola in the late 1800s/early 1900s are
examples Zinn s description of these associated dangers (McKenna Feingold 2011, 13 15). In The
Power and the Glory, Zinn further expounds on Albert Einstein s argument that, Wars will stop
when men refuse to fight by stating American will stop fighting wars when they discard the myth
of American exceptionalism (McKenna Feingold 2011, 18). I believe that McClay and Zinn
provide a persuasive argument elaborating their notion of the validity of America s unique mission.
However, I am inclined to agree with Professor McClay in his assertion in the mythical nature of
American exceptionalism that has promoted social cohesiveness and propelled America as the
beacon of liberty and democracy (McKenna Feingold 2011, 14). The existence of present day
America developed after a period of empirical practices that allowed us to incorporate the positive
qualities of democracy and make note of the negative aspects of wrongfully enforcing democratic
ideals internationally (McKenna Feingold 2011). Since our inception, the invisible hand of divine
providence has directed America to propagate freedom and democracy to all peoples of the world
(McKenna Feingold 2011, 2 3). The majority of American Presidents

My Great Sacrifice When My Husband was Deployed Essay
Until I felt the effects of sacrifice last year, I never knew what strength truly meant. At the time
strength did not seem possible during my husband s year long deployment. A favorite quote of mine
by an unknown author matched my situation. You never know how strong you are until being
strong is the only choice you have. During this year long sacrifice, I found strength not only in
myself but also from the love between me and my husband.
Deployment is a word that all military spouses and military families dread to hear. When my
husband came home to our barely moved in house with news of his deployment to Afghanistan, I
was devastated. Though we received terrible news, we also felt incredible joy that same week. I

My heart ached like I was hit with a ton of bricks. The white busses were lined up and it was time
to say goodbye. I did not want to take the time we had left for granted. Our hug seemed like it
lasted for an eternity; each time we would let go we would grab each other once more for another
strong embrace. Wiping away my tears, my husband made a promise to me and our unborn son that
he would stay safe and would come home soon. He told me this was not a goodbye but only an I
will see you soon. His ever so caring smile calmed me and I was able to let him go.
On December 5th 2012 our son was born. We were so grateful for the time my husband was able
to come home for our son s birth. Not many other soldiers have that opportunity. We were able to
spend ten days as a family, but it just meant we had to say goodbye again. For some reason, our
second goodbye was not as difficult as our first. I knew I had to be strong for my husband and our
son.
Every day we looked forward to my husband s homecoming. I kept a countdown on the white
board hanging on the fridge. It was another day down and another day being reunited again. As
that written number lessened, I became more anxious for his homecoming. Three hundred sixty
five days later, my husband arrived safely on US ground. I felt like a kid on Christmas morning. I
felt both nervous and excited at the same time. My family was finally reunited. Our missing puzzle
piece was finally home. All the

Health Promotion Is A Process Of Empowerment
The main purpose of this essay is to provide a critical analysis of....Discussion will centre round the
importance of utilising health promotion to reduce health inequalities.
Health promotion is a process of empowerment which enables communities and individuals to
strengthen control over the determinants of health in order to achieve their fullest potential. (WHO
2008) 1The rationale for health promotion derives from the opportunity to prevent ill health and
reduce inequalities through the promotion of health and healthy living. It incorporates a broad
range of interventions, measures, approaches and activities to enhance the health of populations,
individuals and the communities in which they live. Earle (2007) 2 intimated that anyone
concerned with trying to facilitate change or influence and improve health needs to recognise what
people mean when they talk about health. He proposes that understanding why people behave in a
certain way when it comes to their health and lifestyle choices can ultimately influence the way in
which health promotion interventions are coordinated, designed, communicated and implemented
by the health professionals as they work towards health improvement. Tones and Green 3(2004)
agree that a definition of health can provide a firm premise for practice in promoting health and has
implications for theory, practice policy and promotion of public health. The World Health
Organisation (1986) 4 defines health as

True Bearings And The Geometric Coordinate System
TRUE BEARINGS AND THE GEOMETRIC COORDINATE SYSTEM
Investigation
Introduction
A true bearing is a mathematical term used to define the point of the angle measured in degrees, in
a clockwise direction, from the north point. A true bearing must always be written using 3 figures,
for example, it is written as 042В° rather than 42В°. True bearings are used for specific purposes
relating to coordinating geography mapping and navigation.
A geographic coordinate system is properly known as GSC is a 3 dimensional surface in a figure of
the sphere used to outline specific locations on the planet, Earth. A GSC comprises of different
terms such as an angular unit of measure, a datum and a prime meridian all used to find a specific
point. Longitudinal and latitudinal waves are the angles measured in degrees from the earth s
centre to help outline a specific point on the earth s visible surface.
The midway of the latitudinal line is referenced as the equator whilst the midway of the
longitudinal line is referenced as the prime meridian. The GSC is used to project a certain point of
the earth s surface using latitudinal and longitudinal lines and height using a datum.
Aim
The aim of this investigation was to develop an understanding of true bearings and the coordinate
geographic system. The use of online mapping tools was needed to help develop skills.
The result of most questions ended with a degrees sign to represent it was an angle.
The desired points chosen were placed in a

While reading In Defense of a Liberal Education by Fareed Zakaria there are several references

that art history along with liberal arts is necessary in today s age.
Art history so far has such an impact on everyday life it would be no surprise that it will surely

Film Noir Research Paper
This essay aims to discuss the origins and traits of film noir. The characteristics of film noir will be
developed through methods of questioning, debating and arguing, in order to gain an understanding
and knowledge of the characteristics of film noir.
We could make the case, as many critics have done, that film noir is, in fact, not a genre at all but
merely a particular stylistic inflection of a crime drama. (Nelmes, 2012.194)
Film noir is not easily defined. However, the actual words came about from France and the term
means Black Cinema . The term was used to describe certain Hollywood films that were
saturated with darkness and had not been seen before by audiences. It sits on a controversy over its

This brings the opening for a trademark element of Film noir , the femme fatal. here are many
examples of masochistic males exploited by ruthless women in the 1940s and 1950s. ( Mayer
and McDonald, 2007, 117). Fatal Attraction (1987) boasts high conventions of the film noir genre,
such as the trait of the virtuous redeemer vs. the femme fatal. In fatal attraction there is a strong
contrast between the two characters of the femme fatal (Alex) and the virtuous redeemer (Beth),
as Alex is blonde, single career guided, a devilish diva and is portrayed as Dan s equal (Beth s
husband) due to the clothing, masculine name and camera angles. Alex the femme fatal conveys
classic characteristic femme fatal traits as she is childless, dangerous, and seductive and also
challenges family and social order. Beth is then seen as boring, childbearing and innocent. These
traits all lead to the weakness of the typical noir male character where he sleeps with the femme
fatal. The femme fatal character is the most dangerous; he outer beauty covers her wicked thoughts.
In the Maltese falcon and double indemnity the femme fatal characters used their looks through
sexual ambiguities to seduce Walter and Sam. When Walter first stepped into Dietrichsons home the
flirtatious Phyllis immediately welcomed him Phyllis (in a robe): I m Mrs. Dietrichson. Is there

Similarities And Differences Between The Matrix And The...
The Allegory of the Cave by Plato illustrates a classic story of ignorance and enlightenment. The
ancient text puts forth symbols of self awareness and higher knowledge to show the different
stages of enlightenment needed to see true reality. Men are prisoners in a cave and have never
seen the light of day. They only see the wall of the cave and the shadows cast onto it. One of the
men becomes free and leaves the cave to experience the outside world. At first, the man does not
understand this new world because for his whole life the cave wall had been his reality. He
eventually becomes enlightened when he is forced to see the sun, which is a symbol of
enlightenment. Similar tropes are later used to tell a story that questions reality in the movie, The
Matrix. In The Matrix, The main character, Neo, discovers that the world he thought was real
was nothing more than a computer simulation. Neo is pulled from this false reality and shown
the true world. Neo must overcome his disbelief and learn to accept the new reality laid out
before him. The man in The Allegory must also learn to accept a truer reality. The Matrix and The
Allegory of the Cave share many similarities in their plot, symbols, and characters, but also have
several differences. To begin, The Matrix and the Allegory contain many of the same key plot
points. Both works have their characters go through life oblivious of a truer world beyond what
they currently see. Neo experiences the matrix and the men in the cave

throughout the world today. He has composed more than 2200 songs, painted more than 5000
paintings, and written over 70 children plays and numerous short stories. Among these short stories
is Punishment; in the story Tagore focuses on the condition of women in India; how women are
suppressed living day to day and whether justiceis served to the righteous.
Punishment revolves around four main characters: Dukhiram, Chidam, Chandara, and Ramlochan
Chakravariti. Dukhiram and Chidam, as the story goes on these characters show us the reality of
what how society treats women. The story begins with two brothers, Dukhiram and Chidam, whom,
set out for work with their farm knives in the morning; as they work their wives, Radha and
Chandara, respectively, fight and create a scene in front of their neighbors but the neighbors don t
seem to care, saying, They re at it again ( Punishment ). When the two men return home, from
cutting rice crop, they find their house unusually quiet. As they walk in they find Chandara
(Chidam s wife) taking a nap out of fatigue and Radha sitting sullenly on the side. When Dukhiram
asks Radha for food she, explodes and, taunts him, as he didn t give her groceries.
After a whole day of toil and humiliation, to return―raging with hunger―to a dark, joyless,

Essay Men Vs. Women in Professional Sports
Men Vs. Women in Professional Sports nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp;Ever since the ancient Greece,
men have held athletic competitions or sports. It is only in modern times that women have had an
opportunity to compete. Most sports still don t have men and women directly competing against
one another. In the past athletic instructors adapted the rules to make sports less physically taxing
for women. For instance in basketball, to ensure that girls maintain proper decorum, they were
forbidden from snatching the ball and dribbling it more than three times in row. Females would not
be considered strong enough to play a full court basketball game until 1971. Women have struggled
to be taken seriously as athletes for more than two centuries.... Show more content on

Women first started taking great strides in professional sports during World War II. When the
male professional baseball players went off to war, a group of team owners started a
professional league for woman (the All American Girls Professional Baseball League). This
league turned out to be successful. After the men came back from war, however the woman s
league could no longer sustain itself financially and had to shut down. Over the past twenty
years, however there have been more and more professional women sports leagues opening and
prospering. One such league is the WNBA (Women s National Basketball Association), while
the league opened being financially backed by the male league (NBA) over its first five years it
has become a financial success with high profits and good TV ratings on major and cable
networks. Some woman s leagues even become just as or ever more successful that there male
counterparts. An example of such a league in the women s professional tennis tour which lately
has had better television ratings and draws more fans than its male counterpart. In 2001 for the
first time, ever the woman s Final at the US Open Tennis Championship (the tours most

The United States Army Signal Corps
The storied history of the United States Army Signal Corps is lined with technological achievement
and advancement. Evidence of the technological advancement and achievement is seen in the
Signal Corps development of the Airplane, the meteorological service and more recently the
massive improvement in net centric communication, which has led to greater command and
control for leaders in the field. It is now time for the Signal Corps to tackle the next big project,
and that project is robotics, a field that can change the way the Army fights and wins wars.
Robotics is a rather large field with limitless capabilities, but there is one place in particular that
robotics can have the highest impact, and that is security. Securing our military bases , be it forward
operating bases, outposts, or even our garrison areas have become a major issue over the last
decade and countless lives have been lost in doing so but with the use of robotics we can make it
safer. Using robotics in base security will allow the United States Armyto make massive changes in
force employment and the Signal Corps already has the tools necessary to make this happen with a
little help from the outside world.
One of the key concepts in changing force employment is the creation of a more flexible force
capable of responding to complex situations while maintaining security and working to achieve the
Army s goals of seizing, retain and exploit . One example of such a robot is the Mobile Detection

Education is widely considered a professional field of work. However, in South Dakota it doesn t

South Dakota Budget and Policy Institute funding per student is $2,000 less in South Dakotathan the

Women In Aldous Huxley s A Brave New World
Aldous Huxley foresaw a great number of feats in his novel, but it seems that he saw no kind of
liberation for women at any point in the near or distant future. In fact, despite the dystopic nature of
Huxley s novel, he instead created a futuristic world that is hauntingly similar to our own. The only
difference being that Hover cars actually do exist. Upon first glance, the story seems liberating,
uplifting, and in every sense of the word, futuristic. But as you delve further into the novel you
become blinded by the blatant misogyny that holds this dull, unadventurous story together. Brave
New Worldis predictably centred around Alpha plus rebels, the over privileged men who fight the
system but meet their fortunate downfall at some point... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If you were to walk into any government, court house, or police firm, you would find an
overwhelming amount of men filling up positions more times than not. You might say that oh,
but men are more fitted to those jobs! Women don t know how to be a police officer, judge,
prime minister, but that s only because we have never been given the chance. And if, like Julia
Gillard perhaps, we do happen to break through the misogynistic barriers of society, we would be
relentlessly ridiculed, even if we were more successful than any man before us. But Huxley s
lack of femme fatale doesn t stop him from portaying the few female characters in a non
favourable way. The only memorable female characters in the book, Lenina and Linda, were
both semi perfectly conditioned Betas, which gives the impression that women are single sided
and lack distinguishing characteristics. What s more is that Huxley doesn t mention a single
female Alpha plus nor World Leader; apparently the top of the food chain is not where women
belong. The Alpha plus males of Huxley s novel seem to be the only ones rebelling against the
New World order. They are the only group capable of being unhappy, unorthodox, and rebellious.
And they are definitely the only ones praised for those very things. Despite the caste system and
the belief that everyone is happy now, the elites of Huxley s book are still trying to break the
barrier. Even though they are the most privelleged people in society. They re the upper class, rich,
white men living in the lap of luxury, of Huxley s imagined

The Last Supper With Jesus And The Synoptic Gospels
The Synoptic Gospels describe The Last Supper with Jesus performing many of the traditional
elements found during the Jewish Passover as detailed in Exodus. Jesus, himself, was a Jewish
man and celebrated this tradition as a part of his faith, so it makes sense that this final meal could
hold traditional aspects of a PassoverSeder. The three Synoptic Gospels seem to demonstrate
parallels between a typical Passover celebration and The Last Supper that Jesusperformed. The
Gospelof Luke even calls in a Passover meal in chapter 22 verse 15.
Joachim Jeremias , The Eucharistic Words of Jesus, comments that there are at least 14 specific
parallels between Jesus Last Supper and the Passover Seder as seen through Exodus and the
Synoptic Gospels. These 14 points include, worship, discussion of the symbolism of the meal,
and bread being consumed. The three Synoptic Gospels tell of Jesus breaking bread with the
disciples to symbolize his body which is a parallel to the unleavened bread that the Jewish
people were to eat during their Passover meal. In two of the Synoptic Gospels, the group
finishes their meal by singing a hymn before leaving the room which follows Moses command
from God to the Israelites to worship Him after all the other commands that the Lord had given
them for the Passover. During Passover, the recalling of the original event and symbolism of the
parts of the meal are to be told and the same traditions are to be followed as the Lord had
commanded to Moses and

How Did William Shakespeare Impact His Plays
When you think of historical literature figures William Shakespeare is a preferable playwright to
read about. William Shakespeare was allegedly born on April 23, 1564 in Stratford upon Avon,
Warwickshire, England. Church records from Holy Trinity indicate that he was baptized there on
April 26, 1564. His birthday is thought to be the 23rd because baptism usually occurs a few days
after birth.
Young William was born into a family of eight children, him being the third born. Three of the
eight children died during childhood. William s parents were John Shakespeare, a glover and
leather merchant, and Mary Arden, a local landed heiress.
William Shakespeare s next documented event in his lifetime was the marriage to Anne Hathaway
on November 28, 1582. William was 18 at the time and Anne was 25, seven years his senior. There
was some haste in arranging the ceremony, presumably as Anne was three months pregnant. After
his marriage, Shakespeare left few traces in historical records until he appeared on the London
theatrical scene. The late 1580s are known as his lost years because little ... Show more content on

poems that were surprising to the world around him at that time. He expanded the expectations on
characterization, plot, language and genre with his complex plays. He impacted theater in his time
by expanding the complexity of plays and his plays seemed more realistic than most. Many
believe that Shakespeare did not invent the words he used in his writing, but that he used the
words he heard. His use of language and twisting plots expanded the interest of literature
exceptionally. The ending of Romeo Juliet is a dramatic plot twist because it features both Romeo
and Juliet dying. This is surprising because the story is about the love between two fictional

Hemingway Determination
Authors provide influential messages and lessons to the readers by using myriad themes throughout
their books. The author, Hemingway of the novella, The Old Man and the Sea, constantly states the
theme of determination . Determination means not giving up on something that is desirable. In
everyday life, we all strive for things we desire. Hemingway expresses to the readers the real
meaning of determination and the use of determination in our everyday life. One of the major
myriad themes that Hemingway states in The Old Man and the Seais determination. Determination
means firmness of purpose, to never give up. The meaning of this empowering word inspires many

By implementing determination, never allow failure to be a discouragement. For instance, a
historical figure named Thomas Edison tried multiple times to invent the light bulb, but was
unsuccessful. Because of his determination, he did not allow that to make him give up, yet he
allowed those failed attempts to encourage him to go above and beyond, and eventually he
invented the first light bulb and made history. This example was to enlighten not to allow one
failed attempt to become a discouragement, but yet an encouragement to do better. Like Edison
once stated, Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to
try just one more time.
An author uses themes to apply life lessons for the readers. Hemingway, the author of The Old
Man and the Sea uses determination as the major theme of the book. Determination means never
giving up on anything. By applying determination to our life, just simply never allow anyone to
stand in your way of success. The true meaning of determination and how we should impact it in
our daily lifestyle was the message Hemingway was trying to indicate to the

Anterior Pituitary Gland
The Anterior Pituitary Gland is part of the Endocrine System and secretes six hormones. The
Follicle Stimulation Hormone is a hormone secrete by the Anterior Pituitary gland that promotes
the formation of ova and sperm. It is a peptide that is produce and stimulates the spermatozoa and
regulates the Graafian follicle in females. Follicle Stimulation Hormoneis a gonadotropin, a
glycoprotein polypeptide hormone. A gonadotropin cell is produced in the anterior pituitary gland
that then regulates sexual development and reproduction function. The hormone is synthesized and
also regulates pubertal maturation. The production and release of this hormone is regulated by
levels of a number of circulating hormones in the ovaries and testes. This system is called a
hypothalamic pituitary gonadal axis. The hypothalamusreleases the hormone that binds with
receptors in the anterior pituitary that stimulates and synthesis the release. The release is carried in

WHO DIED AND NAMED YOU SUPERIOR
What are some of the characteristics that makes humans a distinct species? According to National
Geographic s article, Minds of Their Own , higher capability human like characteristics include,
good memory, a grasp of grammar and symbols, self awareness, understanding others motives,
imitating others, and being creative (Morell). Because humans possess all these skills we
automatically assume we are the dominant race. What if we knew animals possessed these skills
as well? Would we still think we are superior? The fact is that, animals share and express human

Well surprise, animals have dialects too. According to the Huffington Post Science article, Human
Intelligence , killer whales share a complex language of their own and dolphins have individual
names just like [humans] based on whistle signals (Mosbergen). Similarly, Professor Con
Slobodchikoff, from Northern Arizona University, has been studying and recording the calls of the
Gunnison s prairie dog for three decades (Edwards). Based off of these recordings many other
scientists have discovered that the evolved complex language of the prairie dogs contain varying
numbers of frequency modulations, barks, squeals and squeaks, and each animal has unique tonal
qualities (Edwards). Not only have animals established different dialects, like humans, animals
speak and understand extremely complicated speaking patterns that humans have failed to notice on

Scientists recognize specific skills as key signs of high cognitive abilities: they include...self

What I Don t Understand About Birthdays
What they don t understand about birthdays and what they never tell you is that when you re
eleven, you re also ten, and nine, and eight, and seven, and six, and five, and four, and three, and
two, and one. And when you wake up on your eleventh birthday you expect to feel eleven, but
you don t. You open your eyes and everything s just like yesterday, only it s today. And you don t
feel eleven at all. You feel like you re still ten. And you are underneath the year that makes you
eleven. Like some days you might say something stupid, and that s the part of you that s still ten.
Or maybe some days you might need to sit on your mama s lap because you re scared, and that s
the part of you that s five. And maybe one day when you re all grown up maybe you will need to
cry like if you re three, and that s okay. That s what I tell Mama when she s sad and needs to cry.
Maybe she s feeling three. Because the way you grow old is kind of like an onion or like the
rings inside a tree trunk or like my little wooden dolls that fit one inside the other, each year
inside the next one. That s how being eleven years old is. You don t feel eleven. Not right away.
It takes a few days, weeks even, sometimes even months before you say Eleven when they ask
you. And you don t feel smart eleven, not until you re almost twelve. That s the way it is. Only
today I wish I didn t have only eleven years rattling inside me like pennies in a tin Band Aid box.

The Law Concerning The Pet Industry
In New Jersey, there is a county that is considering a law concerning the pet industry. The law
being considered would require pet stores to get their puppies and kittens from animal shelters
and animal rescue center; also, it would ban pet stores from buying puppies and kittens from
puppy/kitten mills (Giordano). Kathleen Schatzmann, the New Jersey director of the Humane
Society, thinks that if the law ...would not only crack down on cruelty in puppy mills, but would
also give homeless cats and dogs in Camden County a greater chance of finding a home,
(Giordano). One citizen that agrees with Schatzmann is Ardis Lukens. Lukens wrote a letter in
support of Philadelphia s initiatives to ban puppy mills and kitten mills (Lukens). Lukens says
that limiting the pet sales of the animals from those mills is the right thing to do (Lukens). This
law to put a limitation on where the pet stores receive animals does not benefit anyone truly nor
does is show that it is really better or best. At this point, you must question whether this law has
any benevolent purpose at all. The banning of selling commercial bred dogs and cats is unjust and
unfair to the dogs and cats. This denies these animals the right to have a good loving home,
especially if they have been born in horrible condition; it is more reasonable and humane to take
them in and give them a life that will make up for the shortcoming in the beginning. Lukens argues,

The Negative Effects Of Illegal Immigration
Immigration, by definition, is the term used to describe the action of coming to live in a foreign
country permanently. Illegal immigration however, is the action of crossing, or overstaying, in a
place that isn t one s native home, without guaranteed residence. For years, people have immigrated
left and right due to various reasons and certain said opportunities. It wasn t until the 1800 s, when
the number of immigrants in the United States skyrocketed, that continuous debates about whether
illegal immigrationis an issue or not erupted. With it came multiple solutions to the overall problem;

policy. This is a nation known topic because it... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, the system cheating aspiring immigrants, alongside the commotion of having immigrants
settle here will immediately reduce the nation s GDP (Griswald 1). Not to mention, the economy in
the country is actually searching and has a great demand for these kind of workers.
Two solutions to fixing the issues with the current immigration system is to primarily provide
temporary legal visas and open up a pathway to obtaining citizenship. Many undocumented
immigrants have lived in the United States for at least a decade and have become a great part of
American society. The prevalent system practically encourages immigrants to enter the country
illegally, considering the process of rightfully becoming a citizen can take up to five or more
years. According to Brad Plumer s article, Learning from Failure: How to Solve Illegal
Immigration, providing temporary legal visas is the first step to fixing the matter with
immigration. Allowing people to obtain a temporary work permit, or visa, makes sure immigrant
workers ... fulfill the needs of U.S. businesses (Plumer 1). Not only does this reduce illegal
crossings, but fills the necessary jobs our economy demands and needs since many Americans
refuse to do so. This is a solution because immigrants now may no longer have the motive to avoid
the system and businesses will reduce illegal hirings due to easy acquired visas. Also, the United

The Repertory Dance Company Fall Dance
The Repertory Dance Company Fall Dance Concert was held at the Mannoni Performing Arts
Center. The dancers involved in this dance concert are part of the University of Southern
Mississippi Dance Department meaning they are either pursuing a degree in dance or teach dance
at a university level. Both students and faculty had the opportunity to present work during
adjudication to be chosen to be presented at this concert. I particularly enjoyed this concert
because, while all of the dances presented were a part of the broad genre of modern dance, each
dance had such a unique aesthetic so the concert still provided a great amount of variety to keep
the audience captivated. The two pieces I have chosen to review represent this variety very... Show

These distinction sections were noticeable because of changes in energy levels and changes in the
tempo of the music. To me this also represents the different periods we may go through in life. Our
emotions, circumstances, and relationships are constantly changing as we go throughout our lives.
Change is unfortunately inevitable. The theatrical elements such as the music, lighting, and
costumes helped add to the serious aesthetic. One recurring them I noticed was how the dancers
held hands at various points within the dance, and this represents unity and necessity of having a
support system.
As I watched the dance concert I began connecting what I was seeing to what we had already seen
and discussed in class. One important connection I noticed heavily in the first half was the
resemblance to Doris Humphrey s technique which focused on the breath while dancing. I noticed
this in almost all of the dances in the first half, but especially Etched Breath by Kelly Francis.
Separating the Strand was slightly dissimilar to Martha Graham s technique because it didn t seem
to utilize the contract and release method and did not include as much of the percussive, sharp
movement quality. Because of all I have learned about modern dance this semester, I believe I was
better able to appreciate these works of art. I particularly enjoyed Separating the Strand because of
the beautiful movement quality and energy level as well as the interesting moments of

African American Singer
Songs like Ain t no mountain high enough , My Girl , and ABC have shaped American history in
ways that people don t even realize. We wouldn t be listing to artist like BeyoncГ©, Drake, and
John Legend if these former artists didn t write and/or perform these songs. They have allowed
African American musicto blossom to what it is known for today. If these artists did not continue to
write and produce music, they would have never gotten anywhere and we wouldn t have the African

Business Intelligence Software Essays
Business Intelligence Software
As we discuss the possibility of emerging into business intelligence software we must keep in
mind the overall purpose of using any type of software is to reach strategic goals in order to
increase market shares. I will discuss how business intelligence software will allow us to meet
those strategic goals. We will establish what type of information and analysis capabilities will be
available once this business intelligence software is implemented. We will discuss hardware and
system software that will be required to run specific business intelligence software. Lastly, I will
give a brief synopsis on three vendors (IBM, Microsoft Microsoft and Oracle) that are dominating

These sales trends can be sorted by geographical regions, industry specific or by an individual
customer. The query selection of this type of data would only be restricted by imagination of the
staff. Accounting/finance data will also be captured within this database linking accounting/finance
information directly to customer data. This will allow management to pull information from sales,
inventory, billing and total revenue. The data is endless; the true challenge comes from pulling
information that will allow us to make decisions that lead to our strategic goals of larger market
shares. I have discussed what most management would consider the backbone of business
intelligence software, data management that allows us to run queries and report the queries for
managing and production purposes. Information delivery is also a capability that comes from
business intelligence software, information delivery can come in the form of emails that are
programmed to deliver specified queries on a given day of the week or month or even daily.
These same queries can be web based allowing associates to access pertinent information anywhere
in the world they might be with internet access. Obviously this type of access brings up security
issues, but all of the platforms that I have researched come with a very robust security program.
When looking at hardware requirements the initial question of Scale up or Scale out of resources
must be answered. Scale up refers

Saint Honor Cakes Essay
Staring out as a ring shaped brioche filled with pastry cream, the St. HonorГ© Cake has

The recipe might look difficult at first glacnce, but it is faily easy to make. It is just a matter of
assembeling all the components once they are baked and made.
You start off by making the choux pastry; mixing milk, water, salt, and butter. Then you add flour
and stir until it all comes together. Transfer to bowl and stir in eggs until completely they are
completely absorbed by the dough. Pipe the mixture onto a pan making small mounds that will bake
and become the cream puffs that will go on top of the base. Next make the cake base and cut into
a 24 cm circle, making sure to poke holes into the dough. Next outline the circle with choux
pastry and then make a smaller circle in the center. Once it has baked you make the pastry cream
that will go in the center. Prepare the crГЁme Chiboust then in a bowl whisk egg yolks, sugar,
and corn starch. When milk in the crГЁme is boiling pour it into the egg mixture in three
increments and boil. Allow the pastry cream to boil and then store in fridge. For the meringue start
the sugar syrup by placing sugar and water in saucepan on medium heat. At this time start
whipping eggs. When egg whites have soft peaks add the syrup slowly, continue whipping for a
minute or so and then add into pastry cream. Then all that is left is to assemble the different parts.
Fill the crГЁme puffs with the pastry cream. Then dip them in the caramel glaze and let them rest.

Pros And Cons Of Abortion
Abortion is one of those heavy topics that either side can be right or wrong. Abortion mostly gets
divided into two sides; Pro Life or Pro choice. On the side of Pro life a person believes that the
government has an obligation to preserve all human life, regardless of intent, viability, or quality of
life concerns. On the side pro choicea person believes that individuals have unlimited autonomy
with respect to their own reproductive systems as long as they do not breach the autonomy of
others. (Head)
Many say abortion is wrong for many reasons, one main reason, life starts from the moment of
conception. Pro Life argues when the egg and sperm join and form a zygote; this ball of cells
continues to multiple and grows becoming a child. Not ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
No abortions would be permitted for any reason, including rape, incest or the health of the woman.
(Anti Choice Statements Pro choice Responses)
Another argument is abortion is murder and the fetus can feel pain. Pro life argues that killing an
innocent human being no matter if it is unborn, it is still murder. They also argue that by eight
weeks of gestation the spinal cord is developed. The spinal cord is most primitive response to pain
which is explained by Maureen Condic, PhD. Evidence found by Dr. Bernard N. Nathanson stating
We see [in an ultrasound image] the child s mouth open in a silent scream... This is the silent
scream of a child threatened imminently with extinction. (Grimes, 2011)
Pro choice counters this with stating abortion that it should be a fundamental right and fetuses are
incapable of feeling pain when abortion is performed. It is argued any moment or reactions seen
in fetuses when they detect pain are more of a reflex not actual proof that the fetus feels anything.
(McDonough, 2013) Even though the spinal cortex is needed to feel pain, neuroscientists believe
that it does become functional until at least 26 weeks if development. At this stage in the child s
development it is rare abortion happens. The choice should still be left in the mother s hand, for it
her body and her control over her productive

An Analysis Of So Much Water So Close At Home
In Carver s short story, So Much Water So Close to Home, three men go to Naches River for a
fishing trip and encounter a dead young woman in the river. Aware that the corpse is in the river,
they continue on with their fishing trip, not reporting it until they travel back home. Carver
illustrates the story through the eyes of Claire, the wifeof the fisher. Carver depicts the differences
in male and female roles of a marriageand their psychological similarities, associated with why
there was a need to travel to further waters, when there is So Much Water So Close to Home.
Ordinarily, man is the provider and woman is the nurturer in a marriage. This is contrasted by the
differences of Stuart and Claire s roles as husbandand wife. Man s role in a home is to be a
gatherer of not only physical labors but of answers. Claire is constantly seeking answers as to
why her husband waited so long to report the corpse, but he contains no answers for her as he
says you re going to get me riled, (76) making her findings of the truth qualities as the protector
of the household. Their minds as husband and wife functioned separately and in no way
correlated to be a whole as Claire became more consumed by the idea of the dead child. This
consumption is relevant in the way Claire demands her husband to tell her where their son by
asking where is he? Where is Dean? (90) and how she has no trust over him concerning their son
because of the idea of the dead girl. This leads to her

The Credibility Of Bono In Troy s Rose
In using Bono to back up Rose, why is he credible? Bono is Troy s friend of thirty years who
admires his, honesty, capacity for hard work, and his strength (Act 1, Scene 1, 534). He s
known Troy nearly his whole life and knew when Troy had any sense (Act 2, Scene 1, 561) or
when Troy ain t got no sense (Act 1, Scene 1, 535). Throughout the story Bono acts as a foil to
Troy, highlighting character qualities where Troy falls short. For instance Bono knew the
impact cheating on Rose would have in Troy s life. He, know what Rose means to you, [Troy]...

He is still a responsible father who has not abandoned his family. How do each of his family
members view him? Starting with Rose, she would definitely view him as a tragic figure. He
was a great husband to her for years, raising the family right and always making smart decisions.
Although eventually he fell short and ended up as a, womanless man (Act 2, Scene 4, 569)
when he cheated on her with Alberta. If it wasn t for this crucial mistake, he would mean much
more to her. Rose wasn t the only one who lost a lot of respect for Troy because of his actions,
Bono and Cory did as well. Bono hated the fact that Troy cheated on Rose but it is unclear
whether their social disconnect was because of this or because Troy got a promotion. According
to the story, Troy said Bono, hadn t stopped by in months (Act 2, Scene 4, 570). In response
Bono said; since you got your promotion I can t keep up with you. Used to see you every day.
Now I don t even know what route you working (Act 2, Scene 4, 570) . Although it is not directly
implied, this leads to the idea that Bono is intentionally missing Troy at work, because he has
lost a lot of respect for him for cheating on Rose. Bono also views him as a tragic figure because he
was once someone he looked up to but completely changed. Lastly, what does Cory think of his
father? Not only does Cory see his father as a tragic figure

individuals affected are our children and adolescents. No this disease is not untreatable, it is not
contagious and there is no chemo involved yet it continues to grow. Why? When asked to present a
problem and a solution, what bigger a problem and easier a solution than the underrated concern of
childhood obesity in the United States. Childhood obesity is a serious, life threatening and growing

Seeing a child who is overweight may not seem like a big concern to some, but the future
consequences can be deadly. Archives of Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine state that, children
and adolescents who are obese are likely to be obese as adults and are therefore more at risk for
adult health problems such as heart disease, type 2 diabetes, stroke, several types of cancer, and
osteoarthritis. Children who are obese are more likely to grow up to be obese as adults resulting
in long term health effects (3). It seems the rise of obesity is going to be a great concern for
healthcare professionals in the future. These statistics provide the obvious clue to the pattern of
an uphill run of childhood obesity without a break in sight. This condition is a solemn concern,
yet thankfully it can be simply understood and managed. Understanding obesity is as simple as
basic addition. Being overweight or obese is result of a caloric imbalance. This occurs when there
are too many calories consumed compared to the ones being burned. The Dietary Guidelines for
Americans 2010 recommends that a boy about 12 years of age should get between 1,400 and 1,600
calories per day if they are sedentary; 1,600 to 2,000 calories per day if they are moderately active;
and 1,800 and 2,200 if they are active (2). The calories in four KFC extra crispy chicken strips and

The Kindertransport Missions
The Kindertransport missions were an attempt at rescuing German children from the horrors of the
Holocaust ( Kindertransport, 1938 1940 ). The nazis burned Jewish synagogues, orphanages, and
other Jewish buildings (Ward). Organizations wanted to do everything in their power to protect
the children from these terrible things. While these worked for many children, there were still
several that had to suffer. Many of the Jews were separated from their families forcefully by Hitler
and the Nazis. Jews were also sent to concentration camps where they were often tortured and killed
by genocide. During the Holocaust, orphanages were burned down, children and parents were
separated from each other, and rescue missions took place. The Kindertransport... Show more

The children continued to be effected, there were just less frequent reports of children being
physically harmed. Some of the teenage boys who were transported fought against their home
country, Germany, in World War II (Ward). Due to this, some of the boys were often killed during
combat. The original plan was to prevent the transports from being injured. This was effective
for the majority of the time although, some were still injured. There was no way to keep every
child 100% safe. Homes were promised to the transports by The Movement for the Care of
Children from Germany. There were fears that many of the transports would not have homes
due to the amount of children being transported at once. These fears slowly faded as different
groups and organizations promised to find and provide a place to stay for every transported
child. To ensure the safety of the children while on the train, soldiers searched every transports
belongings before they were allowed to enter the train (Ward). Bags were checked for any
weapons or suspicious items that could be used to harm another individual. The soldiers wanted to
fulfill their job and do their best by making sure that every child that entered the transports made it
safely off. While the children were still psychologically effected, they were mostly protected from

Aaron By Jane Yolen Quotes
One of the other main characters in the first three chapters is Aaron. According to the name
meaning sources (links above) the name Aaron means in American, Biblical, or Hebrew the exalted
one. or in other words, a person in high ranking. This name, majorily does not support the character
as the meaning doesn t necessarily support the characterin this case in the first three chapters.
Proving so, Jane Yolen implies, He s starting again, she whispered to Aaron. Aaron shrugged. (9)
This piece of evidence that Yolen declared in the book is stating how Aaron didn t really care
about what other people are doing now, inferring that he has seen these before, or as the quote is
referring to, the strange fits that Grandpa Will has. This quote is showing how the name Aaron
doesn t really support the character because in this quote he isn t really the person who is getting all
the attention, and also from background knowledge, since he was the youngest in the household,
there would obviously be another person (in this case, Grandpa Will) getting all the attention
consequently making him the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

This piece shows that although he is not showing that he was being the exalted one, (and in fact
he was being the polar opposite as he was the one who was begging, and not the one being begged
to) it is showing that he was resourceful with his surroundings and determined to get what he
wanted or needed at this time. Therefore, showing how the name Aaron does not fit the character as

The Expansion Of Islamic Rule
In Europe during 1250 1350, the major technological advancement, firearms, was significant in
influencing Europe s rulers. Although created between the mid 13th and 14th century, firearms,
such as cannons and muskets, weren t fully developed to be efficient and reliable in warfare
until the mid 1400 s. Due to an increase in firearms, rulers began to create centralized, fiscal
military states to finance their strategic shift to firearm bearing infantries (542,). Rulers also
began to implement imperialism, extending a country s power and influence through military
force, which had been a dormant policy for decades. The reason for reverting was a result of
developing commonwealths between the competing realms, consisting of the religious
civilizations of Islam and Christianity. The people who led the expansion of Islamic rule, first
over the Eastern Orthodox Christians and eventually over the Western, the Ottomans, frequently
attempted to raise immense amounts of currency in silver and gold purely for the sake of obtains
firepower in the hopes of world ruling. But as Abu Lughod would reason, that was a long shot to
begin with. Low on money, the Ottoman Sultans compensated their military commanders with
parcels of conquered land, also known as land grants. Property used in land grants, typically
farmed by local villagers, generated rental income for officers of their regimes. However, once the
Ottoman rulers had gained control over more cities and progressed over long

Wisconsin s Collective Bargaining Needs to End Essay
Lately in the news, there has been talk about budget and money crises; these problems have been
in many states and most recently in Washington D.C and Wisconsin. Governor of Wisconsin Scott
Walker has decided to address these budget predicaments by sharply curtailing the Wisconsin
public sector workers collective bargaining rights. The reaction from people in Wisconsin has
been mostly negative. However, Governor Walker was right in making cuts in the pay of public
sector workers and taking away their right to collective bargaining to help pay off the budget. The
state has a $137 million deficit, so curtailing collective bargaining rights will save the state $30
million in the current budget, which ends June first. Collective bargaining... Show more content on

There were state wide school cancellations; teachers would call in sick to take part in the protests.
Everyone involved in these demonstrations were all protesting the same issue: the fact that the
Governor of Wisconsin was going to take away their rights to collective bargaining; the irony of
this is that these protesters weren t also just from Wisconson, they were being sent in droves
from different states to support the union. The fear was that this could happen in their respective
states. He says that he needs to take this right away because in the upcoming biannual budget he
would be introducing there will be a $3.6 million deficit that will need to be bridged. He believes
that it will be essential in order to allow the state to actually balance its budget without laying
any workers off (video citation) The controversy behind this is that the people of Wisconsin
believe that if the Governor takes away collective bargaining, he will take away the rights of the
people, especially public sector workers, such as teachers and nurses. Governor Walker though is
correct in taking this drastic measure because the state currently has a $137 million deficit. They
need some way to bridge this deficit, so why not take out collective bargaining? Not all people
agree with this way of thinking. Representative Jan Schakowsky from Illinois wrote a statement on
February 17, saying that under the guise of addressing state

  • 2. The Tourism Industry In The Hospitality Industry According to the World Bank, the hospitality industry revenue has been the largest contribution to the world GDP, for the sixth consecutive year, outdoing a total of 10.2% (US$7.6 Trillion) in the year 2016. The hospitality industry currently employs around 292 million of people, and that means that 1 in 10 jobs around the globe is linked to the hospitality industry (Oxford Economics for World Travel Tourism Council, 2017) A good example of this is the Popular Republic of China, located in the Asia. According to the World Bank, it s the most populated country in the world, leading the global rank with 1.3 Billion of people (World Bank, 2016). With 7 billion people around the globe, China represents 20% of the world s population. However, how can this information relate to industry? China s domestic tourism industry has earned about 3.9 trillion of yuans in 2016. That s approximately 563.6 billion of US dollars, representing more than 10% of China overall GDP. It also has developed 10.2% of the entire employment of the country (China National Tourism Administration, 2016). Nevertheless, the inbound tourism has decreased since 2007 due to problems such as currency fluctuation which makes tourists considerate other locations, corruption, bad government reputation, the lack of novelty and competitiveness and the polluted environment. These are some of the problems that inbound tourism has been facing for the past ten years. The Chinese government has been working on the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The only safe grip one can get on a honey badgeris on the back of their necks. P 3.Honey badgers have long, sharp claws. These claws are good for attacking and even better for digging. What permissions/authorities should you have before you search Mr. Yourprop s former Company work area, and how would you document that authority? Generally speaking, an employer can search an employee s desk or work area without expecting any legal repercussions. The desk is property of the employer, therefore the employee should not be entitled to a reasonable expectation of privacy in their work area (Privacy at Work: What Are Your Rights?, 2015). Assuming this hard drive is used for additional storage (i.e. does not have an Operating System on it), it would contain data similar to that which would ve been on the USB Flash Drive: documents, images, videos, and maybe even some software files. Documentation should be done on the make, model, serial number and type (e.g. SATA, IDE, SCSI) of hard drive. For transportation, again, place into a static shock protective bag. Remember to keep the hard drive away from anything magnetic as the platters that are inside the hard drive are magnetically charged (U.S. Department of Justice, 2008). 3. • 7. Virginia Woolf Two Cafeterias Two Cafeterias , by Virginia Woolf, was written showing an underlying message of how different men and woman are treated in this culture. Using words, descriptions, and tones Woolf expresses to the reader how insignificant woman in this day are made to feel. Woolf shows throughout the entire piece that the men of this society are treated to nothing less than invariably memorable luncheon parties while woman are downgraded to dinner in the dining room. By showing the different standards in which society holds men and woman during something as simple as a meal, Woolf undeniably succeeds in showing the low level in which woman stand during this time. The men s meal is one that leaves Woolf feeling as though we are all going to heaven. She lists off the potatoes being thin as coins, sprouts foliated as rosebuds , and pudding so good that if it were otherwise related to rice and tapioca would be nothing less than completely downgrading. The luncheon party was so proper that them speaking of what was being eaten was unacceptable. The men were greeted with things such as serving men and cushioned window seats for they are considered to be the most vital in their society. Their attitude was nothing less then snobbish for they were made to feel so high. Treated inferior to woman, and they sought to believe it themselves. The... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 9. How Did Rene Descartes Use Methodic Doubt Rene Descartes was first and for most a mathematician, and when coming up with his new mathematic theories he wanted to create a method to make knowledge completely certain and undoubtable by his critics, through his knowledge of philosophy he came up with methodic doubt. Methodic doubt is a way of finding out what knowledge can be trusted (essentially undoubtable knowledge) by systematically doubting everything. Descartes used methodic doubt because he believed that if we say that we know and understand reality or existence that our claim to knowing that must be based on irrefutable evidence rather then just assumption. He likened it to taking a barrel of apples, going through them one by one and putting the sound ones back . Therefore Descartes went about using methodic doubt as a way to create a firm foundation for these beliefs by first doubting all knowledge, reality and our own existence. In his first meditation Descartes doubts all our senses saying that there is no way to prove that they are not... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Many individuals who have been in a relationship since high school are trying to continue their relationship in separate colleges. When being in a long distance relationship some of the love can become lost, unless it is true love. Although, many people think that long distance relationships are impossible to maintain, there are solutions to this problem for college students who are separated by distance. A problem that many people do not realize until they reach college is the distance of a previous relationship. A long distance relationship can be defined as a relationship where two individuals are separate from each other. Many young relationships begin the freshman year of high school and some even make it to the senior year which is when things start going South. The problem begins once college acceptance letters comes both people go separate ways. In many cases the two people involved have views that differ as far as school goes which then causes turmoil when one decides to go to school out of state in which they reside. Through having trust, in a college relationship the both of the individuals have to be open with one another about what is going on while at college. • 11. Inequality in Latin America Essay Although Latin America has faced many social, political, and economic issues within the last three centuries, inequality remains one of the most important, historical, and omnipresent aspects of the region s culture. As Europeans took over Latin America during the time of colonization, they implemented many elitist social structures that have held strong and are evident today (Harris). Income inequality is the most visible and greatest disparity that the region faces; yet inequality between gender, ethnicities, and education remain strong and significant problems with a necessity for improvement. Only few Europeans came over to colonize, but their human capital, technology, wealth, and legal and economic institutions made it effortless to take control. Spain emerged as the leader in colonizing the New World and implemented encomiendas, aiding certain elites and giving little to the rest of the population. The Catholic Church, fueling Spain and Portugal s exclusive ownership of land, led to social mobility and acquisition of titles. Led by elites, the Church had favorable settler condition and acquired land in order to gain immense wealth and express their position of elitism (Harris). The prompt initial land inequality fostered concentrated political power as well. Elites controlled the governments in order to protect their interests and diminish all possibilities of shifts of power to the lower classes (De Ferranti). After many countries in Latin America received their independence, limited change of conditions occurred and the elite maintained control in the new republics. The basis for economic inequality remained the same and the patterns persisted. In the early 19th century, the majority of countries had developed republican democracies yet the upper class still had the power to act in their own interests. A direct bearing established the extent of the elite s ability to influence the formation of government policies. Landowners opposed any institutional change that could transfer power ... McClay and Historian Howard Zinn regarding the concept of American exceptionalism. McClay and Zinn provide convincing arguments as they support their contrasting viewpoints with key examples from American history on the question, Should Americans believe in a unique American mission? On one hand, McClay offers a belief in the unique American mission as interconnecting with our Founding Fathers through divine providentialism. On the other hand, Zinn rejects this notion asserting that restraint from the mythical belief of American exceptionalism will suppress combative desires. Professor McClay believes that... I believe that McClay and Zinn provide a persuasive argument elaborating their notion of the validity of America s unique mission. However, I am inclined to agree with Professor McClay in his assertion in the mythical nature of American exceptionalism that has promoted social cohesiveness and propelled America as the beacon of liberty and democracy (McKenna Feingold 2011, 14). The existence of present day America developed after a period of empirical practices that allowed us to incorporate the positive qualities of democracy and make note of the negative aspects of wrongfully enforcing democratic ideals internationally (McKenna Feingold 2011). Since our inception, the invisible hand of divine providence has directed America to propagate freedom and democracy to all peoples of the world (McKenna Feingold 2011, 2 3). • 13. My Great Sacrifice When My Husband was Deployed Essay Until I felt the effects of sacrifice last year, I never knew what strength truly meant. At the time strength did not seem possible during my husband s year long deployment. A favorite quote of mine by an unknown author matched my situation. You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have. During this year long sacrifice, I found strength not only in myself but also from the love between me and my husband. Deployment is a word that all military spouses and military families dread to hear. I did not want to take the time we had left for granted. Our hug seemed like it lasted for an eternity; each time we would let go we would grab each other once more for another strong embrace. Wiping away my tears, my husband made a promise to me and our unborn son that he would stay safe and would come home soon. He told me this was not a goodbye but only an I will see you soon. His ever so caring smile calmed me and I was able to let him go. On December 5th 2012 our son was born. We were so grateful for the time my husband was able to come home for our son s birth. Not many other soldiers have that opportunity. We were able to spend ten days as a family, but it just meant we had to say goodbye again. For some reason, our second goodbye was not as difficult as our first. I knew I had to be strong for my husband and our son. Every day we looked forward to my husband s homecoming. I kept a countdown on the white board hanging on the fridge. It was another day down and another day being reunited again. As that written number lessened, I became more anxious for his homecoming. Three hundred sixty five days later, my husband arrived safely on US ground. I felt like a kid on Christmas morning. I felt both nervous and excited at the same time. My family was finally reunited. • 14. Health Promotion Is A Process Of Empowerment The main purpose of this essay is to provide a critical analysis of....Discussion will centre round the importance of utilising health promotion to reduce health inequalities. Health promotion is a process of empowerment which enables communities and individuals to strengthen control over the determinants of health in order to achieve their fullest potential. (WHO 2008) 1The rationale for health promotion derives from the opportunity to prevent ill health and reduce inequalities through the promotion of health and healthy living. It incorporates a broad range of interventions, measures, approaches and activities to enhance the health of populations, individuals and the communities in which they live. Earle (2007) 2 intimated that anyone concerned with trying to facilitate change or influence and improve health needs to recognise what people mean when they talk about health. He proposes that understanding why people behave in a certain way when it comes to their health and lifestyle choices can ultimately influence the way in which health promotion interventions are coordinated, designed, communicated and implemented by the health professionals as they work towards health improvement. Tones and Green 3(2004) agree that a definition of health can provide a firm premise for practice in promoting health and has implications for theory, practice policy and promotion of public health. • 16. True Bearings And The Geometric Coordinate System TRUE BEARINGS AND THE GEOMETRIC COORDINATE SYSTEM Investigation Introduction A true bearing is a mathematical term used to define the point of the angle measured in degrees, in a clockwise direction, from the north point. A true bearing must always be written using 3 figures, for example, it is written as 042В° rather than 42В°. True bearings are used for specific purposes relating to coordinating geography mapping and navigation. A geographic coordinate system is properly known as GSC is a 3 dimensional surface in a figure of the sphere used to outline specific locations on the planet, Earth. A GSC comprises of different terms such as an angular unit of measure, a datum and a prime meridian all used to find a specific point. Longitudinal and latitudinal waves are the angles measured in degrees from the earth s centre to help outline a specific point on the earth s visible surface. The midway of the latitudinal line is referenced as the equator whilst the midway of the longitudinal line is referenced as the prime meridian. The GSC is used to project a certain point of the earth s surface using latitudinal and longitudinal lines and height using a datum. ( Mayer and McDonald, 2007, 117). Fatal Attraction (1987) boasts high conventions of the film noir genre, such as the trait of the virtuous redeemer vs. the femme fatal. In fatal attraction there is a strong contrast between the two characters of the femme fatal (Alex) and the virtuous redeemer (Beth), as Alex is blonde, single career guided, a devilish diva and is portrayed as Dan s equal (Beth s husband) due to the clothing, masculine name and camera angles. Alex the femme fatal conveys classic characteristic femme fatal traits as she is childless, dangerous, and seductive and also challenges family and social order. Beth is then seen as boring, childbearing and innocent. These traits all lead to the weakness of the typical noir male character where he sleeps with the femme fatal. The femme fatal character is the most dangerous; he outer beauty covers her wicked thoughts. In the Maltese falcon and double indemnity the femme fatal characters used their looks through sexual ambiguities to seduce Walter and Sam. • 20. Similarities And Differences Between The Matrix And The... The Allegory of the Cave by Plato illustrates a classic story of ignorance and enlightenment. The ancient text puts forth symbols of self awareness and higher knowledge to show the different stages of enlightenment needed to see true reality. Men are prisoners in a cave and have never seen the light of day. They only see the wall of the cave and the shadows cast onto it. One of the men becomes free and leaves the cave to experience the outside world. At first, the man does not understand this new world because for his whole life the cave wall had been his reality. He eventually becomes enlightened when he is forced to see the sun, which is a symbol of enlightenment. Similar tropes are later used to tell a story that questions reality in the movie, The Matrix. In The Matrix, The main character, Neo, discovers that the world he thought was real was nothing more than a computer simulation. Neo is pulled from this false reality and shown the true world. Neo must overcome his disbelief and learn to accept the new reality laid out before him. The man in The Allegory must also learn to accept a truer reality. The Matrix and The Allegory of the Cave share many similarities in their plot, symbols, and characters, but also have several differences. The three Synoptic Gospels seem to demonstrate parallels between a typical Passover celebration and The Last Supper that Jesusperformed. The three Synoptic Gospels tell of Jesus breaking bread with the disciples to symbolize his body which is a parallel to the unleavened bread that the Jewish people were to eat during their Passover meal. • 33. The Law Concerning The Pet Industry In New Jersey, there is a county that is considering a law concerning the pet industry. The law being considered would require pet stores to get their puppies and kittens from animal shelters and animal rescue center; also, it would ban pet stores from buying puppies and kittens from puppy/kitten mills (Giordano). Kathleen Schatzmann, the New Jersey director of the Humane Society, thinks that if the law ...would not only crack down on cruelty in puppy mills, but would also give homeless cats and dogs in Camden County a greater chance of finding a home, (Giordano). One citizen that agrees with Schatzmann is Ardis Lukens. Lukens wrote a letter in support of Philadelphia s initiatives to ban puppy mills and kitten mills (Lukens). Lukens says that limiting the pet sales of the animals from those mills is the right thing to do (Lukens). This law to put a limitation on where the pet stores receive animals does not benefit anyone truly nor does is show that it is really better or best. At this point, you must question whether this law has any benevolent purpose at all. The banning of selling commercial bred dogs and cats is unjust and unfair to the dogs and cats. This denies these animals the right to have a good loving home, especially if they have been born in horrible condition; it is more reasonable and humane to take them in and give them a life that will make up for the shortcoming in the beginning. It wasn t until the 1800 s, when the number of immigrants in the United States skyrocketed, that continuous debates about whether illegal immigrationis an issue or not erupted. However, the system cheating aspiring immigrants, alongside the commotion of having immigrants settle here will immediately reduce the nation s GDP (Griswald 1). Not to mention, the economy in the country is actually searching and has a great demand for these kind of workers. Two solutions to fixing the issues with the current immigration system is to primarily provide temporary legal visas and open up a pathway to obtaining citizenship. Many undocumented immigrants have lived in the United States for at least a decade and have become a great part of American society. The prevalent system practically encourages immigrants to enter the country illegally, considering the process of rightfully becoming a citizen can take up to five or more years. According to Brad Plumer s article, Learning from Failure: How to Solve Illegal Immigration, providing temporary legal visas is the first step to fixing the matter with immigration. Allowing people to obtain a temporary work permit, or visa, makes sure immigrant workers ... fulfill the needs of U.S. businesses (Plumer 1). Not only does this reduce illegal crossings, but fills the necessary jobs our economy demands and needs since many Americans refuse to do so. This is a solution because immigrants now may no longer have the motive to avoid the system and businesses will reduce illegal hirings due to easy acquired visas. Also, the United States can ... Some of the teenage boys who were transported fought against their home country, Germany, in World War II (Ward). Due to this, some of the boys were often killed during combat. The original plan was to prevent the transports from being injured. This was effective for the majority of the time although, some were still injured. There was no way to keep every child 100% safe. Homes were promised to the transports by The Movement for the Care of Children from Germany. There were fears that many of the transports would not have homes due to the amount of children being transported at once. These fears slowly faded as different groups and organizations promised to find and provide a place to stay for every transported child. • 51. Aaron By Jane Yolen Quotes One of the other main characters in the first three chapters is Aaron. According to the name meaning sources (links above) the name Aaron means in American, Biblical, or Hebrew the exalted one. or in other words, a person in high ranking. This name, majorily does not support the character as the meaning doesn t necessarily support the characterin this case in the first three chapters. Proving so, Jane Yolen implies, He s starting again, she whispered to Aaron. Aaron shrugged. (9) This piece of evidence that Yolen declared in the book is stating how Aaron didn t really care about what other people are doing now, inferring that he has seen these before, or as the quote is referring to, the strange fits that Grandpa Will has. This quote is showing how the name Aaron doesn t really support the character because in this quote he isn t really the person who is getting all the attention, and also from background knowledge, since he was the youngest in the household, there would obviously be another person (in this case, Grandpa Will) getting all the attention consequently making him the... (6) To put Yolen s sentence in other words, when Hannah and Aaron were in the carm Aaron, being nervous, caused him to look for a distraction which were at this time, Hanna s stories. From there he was able to beg her to actually tell him one in order to calm himself down. This piece shows that although he is not showing that he was being the exalted one, (and in fact he was being the polar opposite as he was the one who was begging, and not the one being begged to) it is showing that he was resourceful with his surroundings and determined to get what he wanted or needed at this time. • 52. The Expansion Of Islamic Rule In Europe during 1250 1350, the major technological advancement, firearms, was significant in influencing Europe s rulers. Although created between the mid 13th and 14th century, firearms, such as cannons and muskets, weren t fully developed to be efficient and reliable in warfare until the mid 1400 s. Due to an increase in firearms, rulers began to create centralized, fiscal military states to finance their strategic shift to firearm bearing infantries (542,). Rulers also began to implement imperialism, extending a country s power and influence through military force, which had been a dormant policy for decades. The reason for reverting was a result of developing commonwealths between the competing realms, consisting of the religious civilizations of Islam and Christianity. The people who led the expansion of Islamic rule, first over the Eastern Orthodox Christians and eventually over the Western, the Ottomans, frequently attempted to raise immense amounts of currency in silver and gold purely for the sake of obtains firepower in the hopes of world ruling. But as Abu Lughod would reason, that was a long shot to begin with. Low on money, the Ottoman Sultans compensated their military commanders with parcels of conquered land, also known as land grants. Property used in land grants, typically farmed by local villagers, generated rental income for officers of their regimes. However, once the Ottoman rulers had gained control over more cities and progressed over long ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Wisconsin s Collective Bargaining Needs to End Essay Lately in the news, there has been talk about budget and money crises; these problems have been in many states and most recently in Washington D.C and Wisconsin. Governor of Wisconsin Scott Walker has decided to address these budget predicaments by sharply curtailing the Wisconsin public sector workers collective bargaining rights. The reaction from people in Wisconsin has been mostly negative. However, Governor Walker was right in making cuts in the pay of public sector workers and taking away their right to collective bargaining to help pay off the budget. The state has a $137 million deficit, so curtailing collective bargaining rights will save the state $30 million in the current budget, which ends June first. Collective bargaining... Everyone involved in these demonstrations were all protesting the same issue: the fact that the Governor of Wisconsin was going to take away their rights to collective bargaining; the irony of this is that these protesters weren t also just from Wisconson, they were being sent in droves from different states to support the union. The fear was that this could happen in their respective states. He says that he needs to take this right away because in the upcoming biannual budget he would be introducing there will be a $3.6 million deficit that will need to be bridged. He believes that it will be essential in order to allow the state to actually balance its budget without laying any workers off (video citation) The controversy behind this is that the people of Wisconsin believe that if the Governor takes away collective bargaining, he will take away the rights of the people, especially public sector workers, such as teachers and nurses. Governor Walker though is correct in taking this drastic measure because the state currently has a $137 million deficit. They need some way to bridge this deficit, so why not take out collective bargaining? Not all people agree with this way of thinking. Representative Jan Schakowsky from Illinois wrote a statement on February 17, saying that under the guise of addressing state ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
