A coordinating conjunction joins
parts of a sentence (for example
words or independent clauses)
that are grammatically equal or
similar.

10. EXAMPLE
Look at these examples - the two elements that
the coordinating conjunction joins are shown
in square brackets [ ]:
I like [chicken] and [steak] for breakfast.
[Kenzo likes chicken] but [Jerome likes steak.]

affirmative and a negative statement.

It is used to add information in the sentence. It also
used to present contrast or exceptional. It has the
same function with BUT.
Pao plays basketball
well YET he likes

more.

It introduces an effect in a cause- effect
relationship between two ideas.
