2. Location
• Although my film is going to be set in my house, using both
the upstairs and down stairs for different scenes; it is
important to always have a substitute location in case my
house became unavailable. However to create the correct
eerie effect for the audience, I need to keep the setting
interior and therefore have chosen to ask a friend with a
house of a similar layout to mine, whether it would be
convenient to film there if any problems were to occur.
• Luckily when filming, my location and setting remained to my
original plan and so the second option was not needed.
3. Actors
• For my film I need three actors: The fortune teller and two
protagonists who are best friends and also the clients of the
fortune teller. I have chosen Laura, Beth and Abi to be my
actors. However I know that I am going to receive feedback on
my film and will need to make amendments, therefore I need
to have back up actors to stand in if someone’s timetable isn’t
compatitible with everyone else’s.
• When producing the film, I had to re-film four times on
separate occasions which proved difficult getting the same
actors each time. Therefore I resorted to using my second
group of back up actors and replaced Beth with Anya after
trying Rukia first and then having to re-film again, making me
resort to Anya as my final actor.
4. Technology
• Camera- As borrowing a camera from school, it is hard to have a back-up,
however I have a basic filming camera at home if worst case scenario
happened and the camera stopped working. However as i had enough
time to re-film, i did not need to use the basic camera and organised
another filming session so i was able to use the better camera. I also took
out a charger so that i knew that it could not run out of power.
• Editing- When editing it is important to back-up the content on the SD
card, otherwise you could lose the footage. I will place the footage on to a
memory stick and computer to ensure that it is safe and harder to erase.
Every time I edit, i must save after i have finished that editing session so
that it is not lost.
• When editing, I lost my footage one time as my memory card corrupted,
consequently leaving me with no footage to edit. I then had to re-film and
ask my back-up actors to stand in; but then I immediately backed up the
footage onto the computer as well as SD card.
5. Props
• Within my film, I am not intending to use many props,
however the props I am using are: Fortune teller cards and
candles. I am making sure that I have substitute equipment in
case these props become unavailable. These are: Normal
cards that I could stick a paper fortune card on the front of
and torches in case candles are unavailable.
• Within the first production of my film I had all the props
needed. However when it came to my last filming session, I
did not have the real fortune teller cards as they belonged to
my friends mum and therefore I had to resort to my substitute
of homemade fortune teller cards.
