Blue seems calming and represents truth, wisdom, loyalty and optimism, though it can also signify sadness. Pink is often used in girly magazines as it targets females and is seen as feminine. Purple is also seen as girly and used in teen magazines, representing kindness and royalty. Green has both positive connotations of new life when light and negative ones like jealousy when dark.

• Red is a very popular colour that is found on
magazines because it symbolises, Passion,
Danger, Anger, Heat and Aggression.

• Black is the dark colour on magazines that
send of negative connotations, such as hatred,
darkness, death. However it Is a really bold
and dominating colour.

4. Orange
• Orange seems to be a very bright colour that
gives the impression of happiness, warmth
and friendliness.

5. Blue
• Blue seems to be a quite calming colour and is
usually used to represent truth, wisdom,
loyalty and optimism. However it does have its
negative connotations of being sad and upset.

6. Pink
• Pink is quite a calm but bold colour in a sense
that it starts to become over used. It is
popular in girly magazines as it mainly targets
at a female audience because it is
stereotypically found to be such a feminine
colour.

7. Purple
• Purple is yet another girly colour and is usually
seen in teen gossip and fashion magazines. Its
positive connotation is the sense of being kind
and loving, it is also the colour of royalty.

8. Green
• Green is a rather bold colour that has both its
negative and positive connotations. Positive
connotations of green are normally light
greens that represent new life and a new
beginning where as a darker green shows
jealousy, anger and envy.
