Infonavit has transformed its role in Mexico from primarily a mortgage lender to promoting sustainable urban development and improving workers' quality of life. It implemented strategic actions like (1) coordinating housing policy between institutions, (2) incentivizing density and vertical construction to contain urban sprawl, and (3) diversifying housing solutions. Infonavit also tracks results through homeowner satisfaction surveys and comprehensive home evaluations, finding steady quality improvements. Evidence shows the new model has successfully reshaped urban areas and provided workers with better housing options.
It is time to move forward on affordable housing in New York, an update from LiveOn NY. For older adults, the lack of availability and affordable housing is a worsening crisis. Supporting Rural Entrepreneurship Through Collaborationnado-web
Rural areas boast great innovation and creativity, but sometimes lack knowledge about available resources or a robust, well-coordinated ecosystem of support organizations to enable entrepreneurs to build businesses to their potential. During this session, hear about one region’s experience using the Strategic Doing process to pivot economic development strategies during the pandemic to support the digital economy and entrepreneurship. Further, learn how regions can leverage community resources more effectively by building collaboration to support entrepreneurs.
Integrated housing models provide affordable housing for a swath of income levels and supportive housing for clients with mental or physical health disabilities. This workshop will examine several model types for integrated housing. Speakers will also discuss the funding and development on this type of housing model.

With historic amounts of federal funds being allocated to support pandemic recovery, state economic development offices and regional Economic Development Districts need to work well together now more than ever. This session will explore strategies and best practices for how states and EDDs can better coordinate their efforts to achieve better outcomes and meet local, regional, and statewide goals. Presenters will share regional and state-level perspectives as well as recent research emerging from a current capacity building project to support better regional-state partnerships.
Building housing that will remain affordable for years to come is a complex undertaking. It can also be expensive. How do we talk and think about cost comparisons, cost containment, and new approaches? What has recent analysis taught us about costs and alternative development models? We’ll get a preview of the work that’s still ahead to reach agreement on priorities and to communicate well about the tradeoffs and choices we make.

The policy of govt and public sector institutions is to support and develop housing programmes on the basis of availability of resources and on their perception of housing demand and affordability rather than on the basis of the requirements and affordability of prospective beneficiaries.
The National Housing policy of the government of India has highly laid emphasis on the need for public sector agencies to increasingly play the role of a facilitator of the housing process and create the enabling environment in which the requisite inputs would flow into the housing sector more easily than in the past.
Regulatory requirements for improving access to housing are powerful tools for removing barriers to housing choice and increasing housing opportunities. nvesting in Rural Prosperity: A Vision for the Future of Rural Developmentnado-web
Recent and projected demographic and economic transitions present both challenges and opportunities for rural communities. Whether rural communities and the people who call them home will thrive in the future depends in part on the approach that community leaders take to supporting workers, businesses, and families. An increasing body of evidence indicates that creating a strong sense of place, good quality of life, and inclusive access to opportunity may be deciding factors in whether a community will flourish or struggle over the long-term. Come to this session to hear from national thought leaders and on-the-ground practitioners about what this means for the work of Regional Development Organizations, their stakeholders, and the policies that support their work.

Interlinking rivers 5 - Interlinking Indian Rivers - Short Presentation 4 - P...Shivu P
Primary canals are the name given to the canal which interlinks the adjacent two rivers. Flat canal system is the canal where the starting and ending of the canal are at the same level in which the water entering or exiting from the canal will alter the level of water in the canal makes the water accessible all along its course equally.
Continuously flowing rivers like Ganga, Yamuna (For FPC1) and Brahmaputra (For FPC4) with the water of their tributaries will be filling the water to the primary canals throughout the year.
The level of the water of the river Ganga is made to rise to 900 meters AMSL by constructing a dam like structure called River Elevator and draining the water from the top of this structure and then making the water to flow on the Himalayan hills which forms the south border for the west flowing river Ganga proximal to Rishikesh through a open surface canal called Ganga upper canal. The water from the end of the Ganga upper canal will be made to flow through a closed tube like concrete structure called 'Ganga U tube' and thus the water of the Ganga River can be shifted to the Yamuna river catchment area. Another open surface canal will run along the northern range of hills in the Yamuna river catchment area starting from the ending point of Ganga U tube and reaches the Himalayan hills west to south flowing river Yamuna at the level of 800 meters AMSL. From this point the water from the river Ganga and Yamuna will be made to flow through a closed tube like concrete structure called 'Yamuna U tube' and thus the water of the Ganga and Yamuna river can be shifted to the Aravalli range of hills of Rajasthan. Till this point the water will be flowing by gravity in one direction.
The FPC1 which starts at this point will end at river Chittar in the cardamom hills on the east side will be receiving water from the higher side and will distribute water to the lower side all along its course, thus rain anywhere at the higher side will make the water to be available all along the course of the Flat primary canal.

On January 16, 2014, ULI’s Terwilliger Center for Housing, in partnership with the American Planning Association and the National Multifamily Housing Council, held the first annual ULI/Carolyn and Preston Butcher Forum on Multifamily Housing. Attended by 50 industry leaders, the event provided a forum to discuss the changing multifamily residential landscape and led to the development of a series of “big ideas” for expanding the availability of rental housing nationwide. The ten principles presented here are a summary of the ideas framed at this event.
This presentation was developed by Michelle McDonough Winters, Senior Visiting Fellow for Housing at the ULI Terwilliger Center. Special thanks to Doug Bibby and Mark Obrinsky at the National Multifamily Housing Council, who provided feedback on the development of the ten principles and assisted with some content of the presentation.

Russian anarchist and anti-war movement in the third year of full-scale warAntti Rautiainen
Anarchist group ANA Regensburg hosted my online-presentation on 16th of May 2024, in which I discussed tactics of anti-war activism in Russia, and reasons why the anti-war movement has not been able to make an impact to change the course of events yet. Cases of anarchists repressed for anti-war activities are presented, as well as strategies of support for political prisoners, and modest successes in supporting their struggles.

Up the Ratios Bylaws - a Comprehensive Process of Our Organizationuptheratios
Up the Ratios is a non-profit organization dedicated to bridging the gap in STEM education for underprivileged students by providing free, high-quality learning opportunities in robotics and other STEM fields. Our mission is to empower the next generation of innovators, thinkers, and problem-solvers by offering a range of educational programs that foster curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking.
At Up the Ratios, we believe that every student, regardless of their socio-economic background, should have access to the tools and knowledge needed to succeed in today's technology-driven world. To achieve this, we host a variety of free classes, workshops, summer camps, and live lectures tailored to students from underserved communities. Our programs are designed to be engaging and hands-on, allowing students to explore the exciting world of robotics and STEM through practical, real-world applications.
Our free classes cover fundamental concepts in robotics, coding, and engineering, providing students with a strong foundation in these critical areas. Through our interactive workshops, students can dive deeper into specific topics, working on projects that challenge them to apply what they've learned and think creatively. Our summer camps offer an immersive experience where students can collaborate on larger projects, develop their teamwork skills, and gain confidence in their abilities.
In addition to our local programs, Up the Ratios is committed to making a global impact. We take donations of new and gently used robotics parts, which we then distribute to students and educational institutions in other countries. These donations help ensure that young learners worldwide have the resources they need to explore and excel in STEM fields. By supporting education in this way, we aim to nurture a global community of future leaders and innovators.
Our live lectures feature guest speakers from various STEM disciplines, including engineers, scientists, and industry professionals who share their knowledge and experiences with our students. These lectures provide valuable insights into potential career paths and inspire students to pursue their passions in STEM.
Up the Ratios relies on the generosity of donors and volunteers to continue our work. Contributions of time, expertise, and financial support are crucial to sustaining our programs and expanding our reach. Whether you're an individual passionate about education, a professional in the STEM field, or a company looking to give back to the community, there are many ways to get involved and make a difference.
We are proud of the positive impact we've had on the lives of countless students, many of whom have gone on to pursue higher education and careers in STEM. By providing these young minds with the tools and opportunities they need to succeed, we are not only changing their futures but also contributing to the advancement of technology and innovation on a broader scale.
