A community is an area of group of people who has and share things in common. A community may
be large or a small population. According to Stanhope and Lancaster (2016) A community is defined
as a locality based entity composed of systems of formal organizations reflecting societal institutions,
informal groups, and aggregates that are interdependent and whose function or expressed intent is to
meet a wide variety of collective needs (p.230). The World Health Organization (2004) viewed a
community as a group of people who lives in a geographical area and often share characteristic of
membership; beliefs, values and norms.
Summary of Findings The community at large covered a land area of 3,531,905.43 square miles in

Gods of the Hawaiians Essay
The Hawaiian Islands are well known for their beauty, tranquility, and unique culture that have shaped
this state into what we see today. The special bond that the natives have formed between themselves
and nature is not exactly one of a kind, but it is something that can truly be admired. Around
approximately 300 AD, Hawaii was discovered by Polynesians who arrived by canoe from Tahiti.
These migrants brought their polytheistic spirituality and formed a large intricate society with
hierarchies consisting of many chiefs. Alongside the ruling of the chiefs, the newborn Hawaiians
followed a strict belief system known as Kapu akua otherwise known as the law of the gods . The
Kapu was a strict set of rules and restraints that dictated all ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The strict Kapu made everyday Hawaiian life extremely difficult to live. Offenders were often
punished severely with either corporal punishment or sacrificed to honor the gods. If the offense was
great enough, on occasion, the family of the offender was also sentenced to death. Although,
punishment to defectors was harsh, they often had a chance to redeem themselves. It is said that those
who offended could flee to a city of refuge where they had a ritual performed by shamans in order to
clean oneself of sin and escape death. Ancient Hawaiians worshipped many gods and demi gods. The
main god known as Kane, represented life and nature while Ku, represented death and war. According
to the Kumuhonua Legend: he [Kane] formed the three worlds: the upper heaven of the gods, the
lower heaven above the earth and the earth itself as a garden for mankind; the latter he furnished with
sea creatures, plants, and animals and fashioned men and women to inhabit it (Beckwith). It was
believed that each family had its own personal god to protect them. Personal gods were thought to live
vicariously through the animals that surrounded the islands such as the shark or pig. Through these
very same animals, it was also believed that families could communicate with the spirits of the
deceased. Many temples known as Heiaus as well as other methods were created in order to worship

Technology Affecting Mental Health Of College Students
Whether we like it or not, technology has become a part of our everyday lives. We rely on it for quick
information, social networking, job searching, school related assignments, and entertainment for when
we are bored. But is being constantly connected to the technological world affecting student s mental
health? It is rare to find a college student that does not have a cell phone, laptop computer, email and
Facebook account. A poll taken by The Jed Foundation found that 90% of college students used a
social networking site within the last week. These tools are great for getting school work finished,
communicating with friends, staying connected with family while away at school, and for getting in

Balfour s Leadership Was Responsible for the Decline in...
Balfour s leadership was responsible for the decline in the popularity of the conservative party
between the years 1902 1906.
Explain why you agree or disagree with this view. ( 24 marks )
Balfour s leadership along with other key factors, including chamberlain s influence, the Boer war and
the liberal party s actions, overall led to the decline in popularity for the conservative party giving the
liberals their first taste of power in the 1906 general election.
Balfour s character consisted of a very cautious, indecisive man which came across when faced with
Chamberlain and his debate on tariff reform , which stated that all non British colonies should have to
pay tariffs on imports into Britain, making foreign goods more ... Show more content on

Other unpopular acts that Balfour passed was the 1904 Licensing Act which angered non conformists
who felt that it was just a concession to the liquor trade, which was a prime supplier of income for the
Unionists. The 1902 Education act was also unpopular as it created local schools out of the funding
from church schools, which angered Anglicans.
However, Balfour cannot be solely to blame for the decline in popularity from the Conservative party.
A key issue in the defeat of the Conservative party was Tariff reform discussed previously, although
Balfour cannot be blamed for this issue as it was Chamberlain in favour of the reform and was the one
that put it into place, therefore it was his responsibility for the split of the Conservative party, not
Balfour s.
The Conservative government looked weak at the placement of Tariff reform, which of no fault of
Balfour or the Conservatives, reunited the Liberal party after formally being split. We could explain
the result of the 1906 general election purely as a Liberal victory rather than a Conservative defeat
which Balfour had no input in, therefore cannot be blamed for the declining popularity of the
Conservatives. After all, the

Curriculum Of The Other Woman
As Luce Irigaray identifies, in her book Speculum of the Other Woman, Antigone is caught in a
puzzling paradox of both intentionally committing her crime with full knowledge of her act, while at
the same time remaining completely ignorant and unconscious of the law. She says, what an amazing
vicious circle in a single syllogistic system. Whereby the unconscious while remaining unconscious, is
yet supposed to know the laws of a consciousness which is permitted to remain ignorant of it and will
become even more repressed as a result of failing to respect those laws (223). For Hegel, women do
not have the ability to conceptualize ethical duty due to their inescapable nature. How is it that
Antigone is guilty by virtue of her intentional crime, while remaining ignorant by virtue of her
unconsciousness of the law? Kelly Oliver, in her article Antigone s Ghost, suggests that one can
speculate if it is at this stage of the dialectic where women become conscious, however, she rightly
indicates that this is an impossible scenario because unlike men, women are unable to break free from
nature (Oliver, 79). The feminine is bound to the family and remains unconscious to her acts as
ethical.
Because women are restrained by nature to the divine law, the only type of knowledge women can
have of committing a crime and the guilt associated with a crime is intuitive knowledge. At this point
of the phenomenology (and arguably at no point in the phenomenology), women do not have a

1990s Crime Trends
Crime rate has increased in California since 2010, and even increased dramatically since the 1990s,
because there have been many unsuccessful policies to decrease the crime rates. I am for the
government to use taxpayers money to reduce crimes in our communities by increasing numbers of
police officers to the streets and providing a system to help inmates from returning to prison.
Everyone has a different perception when it comes to crime, When we think of crime, we probably
think of the dangerous characters we see played in the movies. What exactly is crime? Crime is illegal
activity that is prohibited by the law. Basically, crime is any act, which breaks the law or fails to obey
some requirement of the law. Since the decade of the 1990s crime has increased in America, especially
in state of California. In 1990s, violent crime plummeted fifty one percent, property crime fell forty
three percent, homicides are down fifty four percent compared to previous decade (Chettiar, 2015).
Increased police in the 1990s brought down crime by about five percent, police employment increased
dramatically in the 1990s, rising twenty eight percent. One example of state policy that were put in
place in the 1990s to address crime was the 1994 Crime Bill, which provided funding for 100,000 new
local officers (Chettiar, 2015). Police techniques can be effective in reducing crime especially in the
1990s. Thanks to digital revolution in the 1990s, police forces started using computers to target
criminals. But as of today, incarceration rate has increased with six percent of property crime decline
in the 1990s and sadly only one percent of property crime ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Italy and retrieve his son, Dickie Greenleaf (Jude Law). While he ventures to return Mr. Greenleaf s
son to him, he meets Dickie s fiancé, Marge Sherwood (Gwyneth Paltrow) and is accepted into their

In the film The Talented Mr. Ripley, director Anthony Minghella uses the portrayed actions of Tom
Ripley to accentuate the notion that men would rather sin to become a false somebody rather than
return to their antecedent real nothingness. The film opens with Mr. Ripley s first lie as he is playing
the piano at a luncheon in the place of someone else. Immediately after his performance, he returns the
Princeton University blazer that he was wearing to its rightful owner and returns to work as a
bathroom assistant. Early in the movie, the viewer sees that Tom would rather lie about who he is to
get a taste of the limelight instead of stay devoted to his humble line of work. This instance is not
immensely extreme because most people would trade the task of brushing rich, pompous men s
jackets for the opportunity to show off raw talent. Here, Tom is willing to fake and lie about who he is
as long as it delivers him from the simple life that he currently has and this theme is transcended

ALL Essay
Signs and Symptoms
The signs and symptoms of ALL can present chronically or acutely, they are normally found during a
routine blood count of an asymptomatic child or during a life threatening hemorrhage, infection, or
episode of respiratory distress. Although ALL is a disease primarily of the bone marrow and peripheral
blood, any organ or tissue may be infiltrated by the abnormal cells. The symptoms in children can
have a much longer duration due to ALL has varies amounts of onset which may last from days to
months.
The first symptoms are usually non specific and include anorexia, irritability and lethargy. Fever is the
most common finding, occurring in approximately 60% of patients. Progressive bone marrow failure
leads to pallor ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Patients with ALL generally have a higher than normal white blood count and lower than normal red
blood cell and platelet counts. Blood tests are also performed to evaluate liver, kidney, and blood
clotting status. The physician will also check the levels of certain minerals and proteins for an accurate
diagnosis. The next step will be to perform a bone marrow biopsy, pending the blood test results. If the
results are abnormal or the doctor suspects leukemia despite normal cell counts, a bone marrow
aspiration and biopsy are the next steps. These are very common and safe procedures. Then, if bone
marrow examination confirms ALL, a spinal tap will be the next step, which means a needle will be
inserted into the spinal canal and cerebrospinal fluid with leukemia cells will be collected and will be
analyzed for signs that the disease has spread to the central nervous system. In most cases of
childhood ALL, leukemia cells are not found in the cerebrospinal fluid.
Disease Progression
There are two main types of ALL acute and chronic. Acute leukemia develops very quickly, while
chronic leukemia tends to develop slowly, usually over a period of months or years without causing
many symptoms. In ALL it mainly affects the lymphoid cells, as to in the chronic lymphocytic
leukemia (CLL) state, it affects the lymphoid cells. For ALL, staging does not occur in the same way
normal cancer cells do because the disease originates

Stephen Dedalus Themes
Stephen Dedalus is a creature obsessed. He hunts and prowls to find one true meaning to the world
through artistic beauty, to find truth through an aesthetic. He finds a way to balance intellectuality and
art with his set of philosophical principals called an aesthetic. Stephen Dedalus, the central character,
acts as an alternate reflection of the author in this semi autobiographical fiction A Portrait of the Artist
as a Young Man by James Joyce. Joyce primarily uses the early development of Stephen and the
impact it has on his life to demonstrate his themes and ideas. He uses this, especially to demonstrate
how Stephen arrives at his principals. Stephen has many interactions with the Catholic Church he
grew up with and the religion. He struggles ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Stephen thinks that the rhyme is not poetry, even though it has the form of a poem (Joyce, 8). The
difference between Stephen and his friend is that one thing does not become art only because it takes
the form of art. What Stephen wrote might be considered more artful because it had a statement: What
is after the Universe? (13). His mind is grasping at the nature of the world through beauty. Stephen
demonstrates this further, by writing an essay comparing Irish political leader Parnell to Julius Caesar
as a figure who is betrayed. Little Stephen, like Joyce makes the psycho causal connection...[He]
already understands the now in relation to the past (Watchel 14 15). His propensity to connect the
present to the past as is the case with his essay about Parnell demonstrates what Watchel is saying:
Stephen s hunger for the aesthetic is not only displayed in his thoughts on beauty, but also in his
ability to appreciate artistic connections in life. Stephen certainly has always had natural creativity, but
what Joyce does with Stephens expression of beauty, explains how Stephen builds his

The Industrial Revolution and Its Long-Term Effects
The Industrial Revolution and Its Long Term Effects
Introduction
The Industrial Revolution has been viewed as one of the most influential events to occur on to the
economic world in the history of modern society. The invention of many new items that all helped
people performed certain tasks more efficiently lead the world to be able to produce many more goods
in a much shorter time frame. The impact of the Industrial Revolution on the world as a whole was
that it catapulted the world economy into an almost frenzy like state, in which people had access to a
much wider variety of goods and services offered to them by businesses. The impact that this event
had on the worker s life was not necessarily a good or bad thing, however. With ... Show more content

These changes drastically altered the way in which production occurred because they allowed for
many unskilled workers to be able to contribute to the production of certain products and the speed of
production for said products increased astronomically.
Why England?
The Industrial Revolution first took hold in England for several important reasons. First, the merchant
class of England was extremely effective in developing commerce. This trade increase raised the
demand for goods in the area that helped spur the advent of many new ways to produce the needed
goods. Additionally, England homed many individuals that pushed for scientific progress in the
industrial sector to help aid the progression of business. These individuals were part of an increasing
interest in both scientific investigation and invention. By pursuing their ideas, these scientists and
inventors were able to lay the foundation and create machines that eased the use of business. Finally,
England followed the idea of the laissez faire doctrine, which allowed the business world to grow
freely and uninterrupted by the government for the most part. These factors all set the early stages for
the Industrial Revolution to take place and gain momentum in England first (Hackett).
With the increase in the use of modern technology in the workplace changed for the general laborer of

The Great Depression is the deepest and longest lasting economic downturn in the history of the
Western industrialized world, that had occurred until that day. In 1932, stocks were only worth about
20 percent of their value than in the summer of 1929. The Stock Market Crash of 1929 was not the
lone cause of the Great Depression, but it played a major impact in the collapse of the economy.
History.Com stated that by 1933, approximately half of the banks in America had failed,
unemployment had risen to 30% of the workforce. In my opinion, The Stock Market Crash of 1929
occurred over a certain time length in the month of October. I agree with economic analyst Jesse
Colombo that on Black Tuesday the stock market had collapsed, and caused chaos. The collapse
caused chaos, leading to high rates of unemployment of closures of many banks. The crash occurred
because there was an excess of bank loans, low wages, speculation, and because of buying on margin.

Introduction
This experiment was done to test the affect of lipid content on cupcakes using four different types of
milk. In this experiment, the height was expected to change due to whether or not the fat content
(lipids) appeared to be heavier in one type of milk opposed to the other. Although the lipid content was
tested on cupcakes, the results were still surprisingly existent. The height of the cupcakes were altered
due to what was taken from them using a different ingredient then what was initially expected when

Dysfunctional Family In The Virgin Suicides
Dysfunctional is defined as abnormal or unhealthy interpersonal behavior or interaction within a group
( Dysfunction ). The effects of the dysfunctional families can greatly impact the children in the family.
How the children display the effects can vary. In The Virgin Suicides by Jeffrey Eugenides, the Lisbon
sisters are forced to obey their strict Catholic parents, which eventually leads them to take their own
lives. In The Perks of Being a Wallflower directed by Stephen Chbosky, Charlie believes he is the
reason why his aunt died, which causes him to isolate himself from others, so he won t hurt anyone
else. The Virgin Suicides and Perks of Being a Wallflower the main characters isolate themselves as a
result of their dysfunctional families, which can be seen through the character s dialogue and
symbolism.
Through dialogue said by Therese, the isolation of the Lisbon girls can be seen as a result of the
suicide of their family member. Therese and Kevin had gone outside for some fresh air during the
Homecoming dance and Therese asked why they were asked out. She asked if her sisters and she seem
as crazy as everyone thinks they are. Therese clarifies that Cecilia was the weird one out of all the
sisters. Therese tells Kevin that [her sisters and her] just want to live. If anyone would let [them].

The Greatest Good And Pain
In evaluating the philosopher s goal of determining how to live a good life, Epicurean philosophers
argue that pleasure is the greatest good and pain is the greatest bad. Foremost, for the purpose of this
analysis, I must define the pleasure and pain described. Pleasure is seen as the state of being pleased
or gratified. This term is defined more specifically by the subject to which the pleasure applies,
depending on what he likes. Pain is the opposite of pleasure, which is a type of emotional or physical
un pleasure that results in something that the person dislikes. Everything in which we rejoice is
pleasure, just as everything that distresses us is pain, (Cicero 1). Through this hedonistic assessment of
pleasure and pain, epicurean philosophers come to the conclusion that, the greatest pleasure [is that]
which is perceived once all pain has been removed, (Epicurus 1).
I support this idea of achieving absolute pleasure from the removal of all pain due to a series of
corresponding reasons. The first factor addressed in support of this claim is the tendency of human
nature to focus on the negative. This observation will lead to the second supporting idea that these
distresses which culminate towards the feeling of pain often block out the feeling of the pleasure
desired. This secondary notion results in a comparison between the subsequent uplifting experiences
from the removal of pain as opposed to the effect of a simple everyday pleasure on the mind. I

Single Mothers In New Mexico
Family structure is a critical factor for a progressive society. If gender gap must be reduced
significantly in New Mexico, the size of single mother families must be reduced. This has the added
advantage of reducing poverty and allowing more women to participate effectively in the labor force.
Outreach programs should be broadened to identify young single mothers at the grassroots level and
not to single them out for social stigmatization but to support them develop skills that will empower
them. In addition, girls should be engaged through various programs to catch them young. These
approaches will help to define the problem of single mothers as economic rather than a moral one.

A Production Of Woyzeck By Georg Buchner
While designing a show certain key aspects must be thought about in order for the show to flow in a
way that will keep audience members engaged. The show must be true to the script, be pleasing to the
eye, offer dynamic characters, and be accessible to the public. In order, for a production of Woyzeck
by Georg Buchner to be produced certain decisions must be made early on. This is due to the
incompleteness of the play. In Buchner s play, the main character of Woyzeck and his family are
marginalized to an insane degree. They are crushed by the world around them, never fully able to
reach their full potential because of the societal pressures they experience. In order to interpret this
idea, I would make the set for my production of Woyzeck larger than life. The extravagance of the set
would help to advance this metaphor, as it would juxtapose the mundane, meek nature of Woyzeck
and his family. Georg Buchner died before he was able to finished the play which means that because
it is incomplete there is no way for certain to know which order the play is supposed to go in. The
fragmented scenes allow the play to take various forms. The play revolves around the concept that
there is no structure. Each scene is independent and follows a story; however, the story can be altered
depending on the order one presents the scenes in and the images one emphasizes. Georg Buchner s
original idea can only be interpreted and no one is certain what he wanted to end the show with. One

Deregulation In Australia Essay
Answer.1 The Australian government recently announced deregulation in the higher education sector
to increase the competition worldwide. The deregulation will drop the demand for undergraduate
courses offered by the Australian universities among domestic or international students. The
government also increases the interest rate of student loans; it might affect the studies of number of
students. It can also affect other things indirectly such as rate of unemployment, literacy rate, building

Michelle Leeman Objective:
The intent of this lab is to observe the relationship between the muscles and neurons that generate
movement throughout the body. We will interpret four (4) different simulations that initiate a stimulus
varying in intensity, frequency, and weight, while recording its influence on muscle contractions. The
goal of this experiment is to have an enhanced comprehension muscle contractions.
Materials and Methods:
The equipment used for all four activities include an intact skeletal muscle, electrical stimulator,
mounting stand, and oscilloscope. Please note that the mounting stand includes a force transducer to

the latent period would increase, the shortening velocity would decrease, the distance will decrease,
and the contraction duration will decrease. The latent period is the period time that elapses between
the generation of an action potential in a muscle cell to the start of a muscle contraction. It becomes
longer as the load becomes heavier due to a rise in muscle tension but no movement or contraction of
the muscle. Once the muscle tension surpasses the weight of the load an isotonic concentric
contraction, or the shortening of muscles to move the load, commences. The shortening velocity is the
speed of the contraction from the muscle shortening while lifting a load. Maximal shortening velocity
is reached with a minimal load. With a light load, the shortening velocity is at its maximal shortening
velocity; inversely, when the weight is heavy the speed in which the muscle lifts the weight decreases
in speed at a slower velocity, as shown in Fig.

Zeitoun Thesis
As of now, most people, including yourself, are probably aware about the mishap with Dave Eggers
and his award winning novel Zeitoun. Soon after the release of his narrative, the hidden violence of
the Zeitoun couple was disclosed to the public. Evidently proven, there has morosely been a history of
domestic violence and rage with Abdulrahman Zeitoun beating his wife with extreme measures.
Controversy was clearly evident upon whether or not Zeitoun should be allocated to upcoming juniors
in the summer after the released report. I firmly stand by prohibiting the reading of Zeitoun for
forthcoming 11th graders of Mills High School. The series of unfortunate events has completely
ruined the positive outlook on the novel and is slowly, but surely, destroying the reputation of
Muslims and their faith.

Muslims are constantly being bombarded with the accusations of being terrorists and overall violent

any chance I have because it is truly heartbreaking to see a religion become hated in the public eye.
Abdulrahman Zeitoun is sadly a rare example of this stereotype. In an article written by Victoria

novel as a loving family man peaceful, calm, and devoted to his wife . Pride ran through my body

Miranda Warnings Essay
Miranda warnings can render a subsequent confession admissible if sufficient time has passed to purge
the taint of the illegal seizure. (Brown v. Illinois (1975) 422 U.S. 604 (even if subsequent statements

primary taint).) Moreover, if a defendant is unlawfully detained, incriminating or inculpatory
statements stemming from custodial interrogation are inadmissible, even if the defendant was

In this case, Meyers was subject to an unreasonable search and seizure in violation of the Fourth

Effects Of Relationships In The Iliad
The Effect of Relationships Throughout the Iliad
Relationships by definition are the way in which two or more concepts, objects, or people share a
connection with one another. In the Iliad written by Homer during the time period ranging between
600 to 800 B.C, the portrayal of three main relationships strongly depicts the effect of relationships.
Achilles and Patroclus are two war heroes on the Achaean side who share a strong bond with one
another. Once Patroclus dies at the hand of Hector, a strong and brave hero on the Trojan side,
Achilles develops a sense of revenge and makes it his personal duty to avenge Patroclus which causes
him to forget his feud with King Agamemnon and resume fighting, while Diomedes and Glaukos
share a heritage bond which causes Diomedes and Glaukos to refrain from murdering one another.
However, although Hector and Andromache portray a strong relationship, it does not affect Hector as
strongly as Diomedes s and Achilles s relationships. Relationships in the Iliad affects Achilles by
forcing him to kill the man who kills Patroclus to exact revenge, Diomedes and Glaukos to refrain
from killing one another as they realize they share a family bond, but the relationship between Hector
and Andromache does not greatly affect Hector in the battlefield.

Greek Art History
Chapter 15 primarily includes insightful information about the earliest art all the way through to the
Bronze Age. Art history is a very unique type of history because it allows for people to visualize
earlier life and how our ancestors survived, perceived themselves and their surroundings during
different time periods. This art comes from different eras and locations such as the Paleolithic Period,
Neolithic Period, early civilization, Mesopotamia, and Egypt. Beginning somewhere around 2 million
years prior to today, early hominids, in east central Africa, crafted the first ever tools that could be
used to cut and shape stone. These primitive tools were later refined and developed into sharp objects

These deserts also kept outside architecture away and allowed for the Egyptians to develop their own,
very unique, methods of building. The greatest works of Egyptian civilization are the Great Pyramids,
which are comparable to the size of mountains and severed as tombs for fallen Pharaohs. It was a
common belief in Egypt that in order for someone to reach the afterlife, their body on Earth had to be
preserved and taken care of with respect. All bodies were embalmed as quickly as possible and then
were buried in their tomb to rest for all eternity. Inside these pyramids and tombs, architects spent a
great deal of time and effort building false hallways and walls in an effort to keep people from
reaching the actual resting place of the deceased. We were finally able to get a better understanding as
to why architects tried to keep people from reaching the tombs and why grave robbers were so active
when we discovered the Tomb of Tutankhamen. Tutankhamen, also known as King Tut, died at the
age of 18 and is so well documented because his tomb was discovered in modern times with most of
his valuables left inside. Another tomb that has taught us a great amount about ancient Egypt is the

Pros And Cons Of A Lawyer
There are just so many things people don t really know about lawyers, one of the most common facts
that people know is that they are the ones that could help you out when it comes to legal matters.
People also know that it takes such a wise mind, commitment and dedication, to become one.
Unfortunately, there are some people who simply believe in basically whatever they hear so they make
unfair judgement towards lawyers. Here are some of the most common questions people think about
when it comes to lawyers. The only secret that the lawyer really possesses about the law is that no one
can ever be certain of what the law is. The lawyer is accustomed to the ways of bending and and
changing the rules to suit his or his client s purpose, to dance in the shadows of the law s ambiguities.
Rules hold no particular terror for the lawyer, just as the sight of blood holds no terror for the surgeon.
Because he operates as system of rules, the lawyer becomes indifferent to the humanity of the body
that is lying on the operating table. Jethro Lieberman TRUE OR FALSE: Are Lawyers Liars? This has

Summary Of The Concert By Gerrit Van Honthorst
The art work of Gerrit Van Honthorst called The Concert was painted during the 15th or 16th century.
The title of the painting gives a clue as to what is happening within the painting. The painting is an oil,
canvas. The title The Concert suggests just as in the painting, a group of people is gathering for a
concert. There are intense muted hues of yellow, blue, red, and green. The painting contains traditional
linear perspective and the book placed on the table helps create the 3 D dimensional on the overall
painting. The shapes of the figures are sharply defined and the objects such as the table, book, and
string instruments. There are diagonal rhythms throughout the painting in which it creates movement.
The light source in the upper left allows the source light to have a more natural appearance throughout
the painting. The shadows at the right hand corner and the men wearing green in the middle contrast
the main object with the most sources of lighting. The objects shadows and lighting create dimension
and a vivid sense of more contrast. There are areas in the making with more contrast and the sharp
contrast that creates movement in the painting. The shadows and the lighting throughout the painting
show gradations and the highlights create more depth. Staring from the upper left hand corner with the
first figure of a gentleman wearing a hue of blue and yellow, the left side of his face and garment
shows the source light in right above him. The source light above the

HIV
What is HIV/AIDS?
HIV stands for Human immunodeficiency Virus. This virus weakens a person s ability to fight

Woodrow Wilson s War Message
Woodrow Wilson s War Message
A Rhetorical Analysis Paper
Cesar Gerardo Fragoso
Texas A M International University
Abstract
On April 2, 1917, President Wilson wrote and spoke one of his famous speech: War Message.
President Wilson wants to ensure the people s hope and faith from the war. As President Wilson
(1917) stated in his speech Each nation must decide for itself how it will meet it... Our motive will not
be revenge or the victorious assertion of the physical might of the nation, but only the vindication of
right, of human right, of which we are only a single champion. was to fix the issue the nation was in.
President Wilson wants to show the people that we need to get involved war for the loss of many
American lives that Germany took. Wilson persuades to Congress to go to war. President Wilson
shows his persuasion effectively by using rhetorical strategies. Each strategy he used gave more
persuasion to Congress to declare war on Germany. All the persuasion he used to convince Congress
was put in his famous speech War Message.
Wilson s War Message During the 1920s, the United States was forced into war by the Germans.
Germany, attacking and violating with the use of submarines, gave President Woodrow Wilson, who
was president during World War I, no other option but to go into war. We enter this war only where we
are clearly forced into it because there are no other means of defending our rights. (Wilson, 1917). He

architectures, protocols, algorithms and applications have been proposed and implemented for energy
efficiency. The efficiency of these networks is highly dependent on routing protocols which directly
affecting the network life time. Cluster formation in sensor network is one of the most popular
technique for reducing the energy consumption and expand the lifetime of the sensor network. There
are various cluster formation techniques used in wireless sensor network. In which, Particle Swarm
Optimization (PSO) is simple and efficient optimization algorithm, which is used to form the energy
efficient clusters with optimal selection of cluster head. The comparison is made with the well known
cluster based protocols developed for WSN, LEACH (Low Energy Adaptive Clustering Hierarchy)
and LEACH C as well as the traditional K means clustering algorithm. A comparative analysis shown

powers that had interests in Yemen such as the US and the UK, failed to disclose whether they

the union supporting the republican forces while others went behind the royal forces led by Imam
Mohammed Al Bdr. Egypt supported the republican forces while Imam Badr received support from
Jordan and Saudi Arabia. The republican forces embraced social progress and republicanism, and were
mainly present in cities, while Mohammed Al Bdr forces fought from rural areas. The conflict in
Yemen was partially caused by the action of Egypt to send soldiers to support the overthrowing of the

Gratitude Essay
Showing gratitude is one of the simplest yet most powerful things humans can do for each other.
Randy Rausch was an American professor of computer science, human computer interaction, and
design at Carnegie Mellon University. He believed that showing appreciation for others was the
strongest yet simplest act someone could do for anyone. Over the past generations, philosophers and
professors from around the world have come up with different assumptions about the term gratitude.
Behavioral and psychological research has shown the surprising life improvements that can stem from
the practice of gratitude. A conclusion that can drawn from this research is that giving thanks makes
people happier and more resilient, strengthens relationships, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Falling in love with Jenny was something Forest was grateful for. He felt praised for knowing such a
woman as Jenny. Life changed for Forest when he met Jenny. She brought a sense of relief to his life,
which awoke him to the idea of recognition. Recognizing the beauty in Jenny s personality made him
feel gratified to know her as a human. Also, Forest gave back to Jenny by giving her flowers and
chocolates to show his appreciation for her. Forever thanking Jenny for her compassion is all Forest
wanted to do. Thus, Forest Gump is an excellent example for the idea of giving thanks and
broadcasting appreciative thoughts.
Gratitude is used either as referring to the wellness in one s self and the wellness outside one s self.
First, the acknowledgment of goodness can be in one s life. In a state of gratitude, we affirm that all in
all, life is good, and has elements that make it not just worth living, but rich detail. When we show
gratitude from in our lives, we are presenting a wise, beautiful idea that makes mankind realize that
giving thanks should not be a choice; it should be a priority. No matter who we are, expressing
acknowledgement is contagious. We see others accomplish goals and show appreciation for their hard
work, and that makes us feel that we need to bring ourselves accountable for our efforts and appreciate
ourselves for our own accomplishments. Consequently, the acknowledgment that we have received
something gratifies us, both by its presence

Enoxaparin is a highly acidic mucopolysaccharide. It is an anticoagulant drug that is used primarily
for prophylaxis of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) or for patients that exhibit pulmonary embolism (PE)
that have underwent specific surgery. Enoxaparin functions as a serine type endopeptidase inhibitor
and targets antithrombin III. It binds to it and creates a vertex that irreversibly inactivates clotting
factor Xa. Enoxaparin binding to antithrombin III also accelerates the activity of antithrombin III
which is a serine protease inhibitor that modulates the activation of blood coagulation. Enoxaparin
inhibits the production of prothrombin to thrombin. Antithrombin III inhibits thrombin, factors Xa,
IXa, and XIa, as well as matripatase 3/TMPRSS7. With the presence of enoxaparin its inhibitory
activity is increased greatly. With the Xa being catalyzed by the attachment of enoxaparin, the
translation of prothrombin to thrombin is decreased.

The special bond that the natives have formed between themselves and nature is not exactly one of a kind, but it is something that can truly be admired. Around approximately 300 AD, Hawaii was discovered by Polynesians who arrived by canoe from Tahiti. These migrants brought their polytheistic spirituality and formed a large intricate society with hierarchies consisting of many chiefs. Alongside the ruling of the chiefs, the newborn Hawaiians followed a strict belief system known as Kapu akua otherwise known as the law of the gods . Offenders were often punished severely with either corporal punishment or sacrificed to honor the gods. If the offense was great enough, on occasion, the family of the offender was also sentenced to death. Although, punishment to defectors was harsh, they often had a chance to redeem themselves. It is said that those who offended could flee to a city of refuge where they had a ritual performed by shamans in order to clean oneself of sin and escape death. Ancient Hawaiians worshipped many gods and demi gods. The main god known as Kane, represented life and nature while Ku, represented death and war. According to the Kumuhonua Legend: he [Kane] formed the three worlds: the upper heaven of the gods, the lower heaven above the earth and the earth itself as a garden for mankind; the latter he furnished with sea creatures, plants, and animals and fashioned men and women to inhabit it (Beckwith). It was believed that each family had its own personal god to protect them. Personal gods were thought to live vicariously through the animals that surrounded the islands such as the shark or pig. Through these very same animals, it was also believed that families could communicate with the spirits of the deceased. Explain why you agree or disagree with this view. ( 24 marks ) Balfour s leadership along with other key factors, including chamberlain s influence, the Boer war and the liberal party s actions, overall led to the decline in popularity for the conservative party giving the liberals their first taste of power in the 1906 general election. Balfour s character consisted of a very cautious, indecisive man which came across when faced with Chamberlain and his debate on tariff reform , which stated that all non British colonies should have to pay tariffs on imports into Britain, making foreign goods more ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Other unpopular acts that Balfour passed was the 1904 Licensing Act which angered non conformists who felt that it was just a concession to the liquor trade, which was a prime supplier of income for the Unionists. The 1902 Education act was also unpopular as it created local schools out of the funding from church schools, which angered Anglicans. However, Balfour cannot be solely to blame for the decline in popularity from the Conservative party. A key issue in the defeat of the Conservative party was Tariff reform discussed previously, although Balfour cannot be blamed for this issue as it was Chamberlain in favour of the reform and was the one that put it into place, therefore it was his responsibility for the split of the Conservative party, not Balfour s. The Conservative government looked weak at the placement of Tariff reform, which of no fault of Balfour or the Conservatives, reunited the Liberal party after formally being split. We could explain the result of the 1906 general election purely as a Liberal victory rather than a Conservative defeat which Balfour had no input in, therefore cannot be blamed for the declining popularity of the Conservatives. • 6. Curriculum Of The Other Woman As Luce Irigaray identifies, in her book Speculum of the Other Woman, Antigone is caught in a puzzling paradox of both intentionally committing her crime with full knowledge of her act, while at the same time remaining completely ignorant and unconscious of the law. She says, what an amazing vicious circle in a single syllogistic system. Whereby the unconscious while remaining unconscious, is yet supposed to know the laws of a consciousness which is permitted to remain ignorant of it and will become even more repressed as a result of failing to respect those laws (223). For Hegel, women do not have the ability to conceptualize ethical duty due to their inescapable nature. How is it that Antigone is guilty by virtue of her intentional crime, while remaining ignorant by virtue of her unconsciousness of the law? Kelly Oliver, in her article Antigone s Ghost, suggests that one can speculate if it is at this stage of the dialectic where women become conscious, however, she rightly indicates that this is an impossible scenario because unlike men, women are unable to break free from nature (Oliver, 79). The feminine is bound to the family and remains unconscious to her acts as ethical. Because women are restrained by nature to the divine law, the only type of knowledge women can have of committing a crime and the guilt associated with a crime is intuitive knowledge. At this point of the phenomenology (and arguably at no point in the phenomenology), women do not have a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. 1990s Crime Trends Crime rate has increased in California since 2010, and even increased dramatically since the 1990s, because there have been many unsuccessful policies to decrease the crime rates. I am for the government to use taxpayers money to reduce crimes in our communities by increasing numbers of police officers to the streets and providing a system to help inmates from returning to prison. Everyone has a different perception when it comes to crime, When we think of crime, we probably think of the dangerous characters we see played in the movies. What exactly is crime? Crime is illegal activity that is prohibited by the law. Basically, crime is any act, which breaks the law or fails to obey some requirement of the law. Since the decade of the 1990s crime has increased in America, especially in state of California. In 1990s, violent crime plummeted fifty one percent, property crime fell forty three percent, homicides are down fifty four percent compared to previous decade (Chettiar, 2015). Increased police in the 1990s brought down crime by about five percent, police employment increased dramatically in the 1990s, rising twenty eight percent. One example of state policy that were put in place in the 1990s to address crime was the 1994 Crime Bill, which provided funding for 100,000 new local officers (Chettiar, 2015). Police techniques can be effective in reducing crime especially in the 1990s. Thanks to digital revolution in the 1990s, police forces started using computers to target criminals. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the film The Talented Mr. Ripley, director Anthony Minghella uses the portrayed actions of Tom Ripley to accentuate the notion that men would rather sin to become a false somebody rather than return to their antecedent real nothingness. The film opens with Mr. Ripley s first lie as he is playing the piano at a luncheon in the place of someone else. Immediately after his performance, he returns the Princeton University blazer that he was wearing to its rightful owner and returns to work as a bathroom assistant. Early in the movie, the viewer sees that Tom would rather lie about who he is to get a taste of the limelight instead of stay devoted to his humble line of work. This instance is not immensely extreme because most people would trade the task of brushing rich, pompous men s jackets for the opportunity to show off raw talent. Here, Tom is willing to fake and lie about who he is as long as it delivers him from the simple life that he currently has and this theme is transcended throughout ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Patients with ALL generally have a higher than normal white blood count and lower than normal red blood cell and platelet counts. Blood tests are also performed to evaluate liver, kidney, and blood clotting status. The physician will also check the levels of certain minerals and proteins for an accurate diagnosis. The next step will be to perform a bone marrow biopsy, pending the blood test results. If the results are abnormal or the doctor suspects leukemia despite normal cell counts, a bone marrow aspiration and biopsy are the next steps. These are very common and safe procedures. Then, if bone marrow examination confirms ALL, a spinal tap will be the next step, which means a needle will be inserted into the spinal canal and cerebrospinal fluid with leukemia cells will be collected and will be analyzed for signs that the disease has spread to the central nervous system. In most cases of childhood ALL, leukemia cells are not found in the cerebrospinal fluid. Disease Progression There are two main types of ALL acute and chronic. He finds a way to balance intellectuality and art with his set of philosophical principals called an aesthetic. Stephen Dedalus, the central character, acts as an alternate reflection of the author in this semi autobiographical fiction A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man by James Joyce. Joyce primarily uses the early development of Stephen and the impact it has on his life to demonstrate his themes and ideas. The difference between Stephen and his friend is that one thing does not become art only because it takes the form of art. What Stephen wrote might be considered more artful because it had a statement: What is after the Universe? (13). His mind is grasping at the nature of the world through beauty. Stephen demonstrates this further, by writing an essay comparing Irish political leader Parnell to Julius Caesar as a figure who is betrayed. Little Stephen, like Joyce makes the psycho causal connection...[He] already understands the now in relation to the past (Watchel 14 15). His propensity to connect the present to the past as is the case with his essay about Parnell demonstrates what Watchel is saying: Stephen s hunger for the aesthetic is not only displayed in his thoughts on beauty, but also in his ability to appreciate artistic connections in life. The Industrial Revolution and Its Long-Term Effects The Industrial Revolution and Its Long Term Effects Introduction The Industrial Revolution has been viewed as one of the most influential events to occur on to the economic world in the history of modern society. The invention of many new items that all helped people performed certain tasks more efficiently lead the world to be able to produce many more goods in a much shorter time frame. The impact of the Industrial Revolution on the world as a whole was that it catapulted the world economy into an almost frenzy like state, in which people had access to a much wider variety of goods and services offered to them by businesses. These changes drastically altered the way in which production occurred because they allowed for many unskilled workers to be able to contribute to the production of certain products and the speed of production for said products increased astronomically. Why England? The Industrial Revolution first took hold in England for several important reasons. First, the merchant class of England was extremely effective in developing commerce. This trade increase raised the demand for goods in the area that helped spur the advent of many new ways to produce the needed goods. Additionally, England homed many individuals that pushed for scientific progress in the industrial sector to help aid the progression of business. These individuals were part of an increasing interest in both scientific investigation and invention. By pursuing their ideas, these scientists and inventors were able to lay the foundation and create machines that eased the use of business. Finally, England followed the idea of the laissez faire doctrine, which allowed the business world to grow freely and uninterrupted by the government for the most part. These factors all set the early stages for the Industrial Revolution to take place and gain momentum in England first (Hackett). • 18. The Greatest Good And Pain In evaluating the philosopher s goal of determining how to live a good life, Epicurean philosophers argue that pleasure is the greatest good and pain is the greatest bad. Foremost, for the purpose of this analysis, I must define the pleasure and pain described. Pleasure is seen as the state of being pleased or gratified. This term is defined more specifically by the subject to which the pleasure applies, depending on what he likes. Pain is the opposite of pleasure, which is a type of emotional or physical un pleasure that results in something that the person dislikes. Everything in which we rejoice is pleasure, just as everything that distresses us is pain, (Cicero 1). Through this hedonistic assessment of pleasure and pain, epicurean philosophers come to the conclusion that, the greatest pleasure [is that] which is perceived once all pain has been removed, (Epicurus 1). I support this idea of achieving absolute pleasure from the removal of all pain due to a series of corresponding reasons. The first factor addressed in support of this claim is the tendency of human nature to focus on the negative. This observation will lead to the second supporting idea that these distresses which culminate towards the feeling of pain often block out the feeling of the pleasure desired. This secondary notion results in a comparison between the subsequent uplifting experiences from the removal of pain as opposed to the effect of a simple everyday pleasure on the mind. I ... The show must be true to the script, be pleasing to the eye, offer dynamic characters, and be accessible to the public. In order, for a production of Woyzeck by Georg Buchner to be produced certain decisions must be made early on. This is due to the incompleteness of the play. In Buchner s play, the main character of Woyzeck and his family are marginalized to an insane degree. They are crushed by the world around them, never fully able to reach their full potential because of the societal pressures they experience. In order to interpret this idea, I would make the set for my production of Woyzeck larger than life. The extravagance of the set would help to advance this metaphor, as it would juxtapose the mundane, meek nature of Woyzeck and his family. Georg Buchner died before he was able to finished the play which means that because it is incomplete there is no way for certain to know which order the play is supposed to go in. The fragmented scenes allow the play to take various forms. The play revolves around the concept that there is no structure. In the Iliad written by Homer during the time period ranging between 600 to 800 B.C, the portrayal of three main relationships strongly depicts the effect of relationships. Woodrow Wilson s War Message Woodrow Wilson s War Message A Rhetorical Analysis Paper Cesar Gerardo Fragoso Texas A M International University Abstract On April 2, 1917, President Wilson wrote and spoke one of his famous speech: War Message. President Wilson wants to ensure the people s hope and faith from the war. As President Wilson (1917) stated in his speech Each nation must decide for itself how it will meet it... Our motive will not be revenge or the victorious assertion of the physical might of the nation, but only the vindication of right, of human right, of which we are only a single champion. was to fix the issue the nation was in. President Wilson wants to show the people that we need to get involved war for the loss of many American lives that Germany took. Wilson persuades to Congress to go to war. President Wilson shows his persuasion effectively by using rhetorical strategies. Each strategy he used gave more persuasion to Congress to declare war on Germany. All the persuasion he used to convince Congress was put in his famous speech War Message. Wilson s War Message During the 1920s, the United States was forced into war by the Germans. Germany, attacking and violating with the use of submarines, gave President Woodrow Wilson, who was president during World War I, no other option but to go into war. We enter this war only where we are clearly forced into it because there are no other means of defending our rights. (Wilson, 1917). He was a neutral person. Even though he wanted ... Hospital Acquired Conditions Common Hospital Acquired Conditions: Infections Donna Sabet Saddleback College N176 March 3, 2017 Common Hospital Acquired Conditions: Infections Of all the hospital acquired conditions or never events identified by the Centers for Medicare Medicaid Services (CMS), infections are possibly the most frightening to consider. This holds true for lay people as well as medical professionals, perhaps because of our perception that controlling the risk for infection is more difficult than controlling non infectious risk for injury conditions that usually result from preventable human error. Safety awareness and improved education can help on multiple fronts in the fight against most hospital acquired conditions, but with infections, the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As such, we must evaluate our practice on an ongoing basis to ensure that we are consistently following the best, evidenced based practice guidelines in our interventions. (Makic, Rauen, Watson, Poteet, 2014) With respect to reducing HAIs, this means following all hospital recommended infection control practices and utilizing all available resources to maintain the highest possible standards of infection control. New nurses may want to consider participating on an infection control committee as a means of keeping current on education and exploring new knowledge. Also, we should acknowledge and appreciate the help and support of assistive personnel, including often overlooked and underappreciated custodial staff, upon whom we rely to help keep the hospital environment clean. It takes the entire team to fight an invisible enemy. As primary patient advocates, nurses must motivate and inspire the other team members and daily remind ourselves to care for each patient with the kind of persistence and diligence we would expect from another RN, if we found ourselves on the other side of the nurse patient ... The efficiency of these networks is highly dependent on routing protocols which directly affecting the network life time. Cluster formation in sensor network is one of the most popular technique for reducing the energy consumption and expand the lifetime of the sensor network. There are various cluster formation techniques used in wireless sensor network. In which, Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) is simple and efficient optimization algorithm, which is used to form the energy efficient clusters with optimal selection of cluster head. The comparison is made with the well known cluster based protocols developed for WSN, LEACH (Low Energy Adaptive Clustering Hierarchy) and LEACH C as well as the traditional K means clustering algorithm. A comparative analysis shown in the paper and come to the conclusion based on some parameters. This makes it so that you re always in a great position to rack up big wins across the 3x5 reel setup, although it means that you ll have to fork over a little more cash to place bets. You ll still be able to go down to small bets if you re more frugal minded, but high rollers will be able to place satisfyingly large bets as well. During the Yemen civil war that took place between 1962 and 1970, the Arab League was made up of six member states that included Yemen, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, and Jordan. However, the Arab League was later expanded to include twenty two member states. The role played by the Arab League during the Civil war in Yemen, is evident from the roles in which the individual members of this union played in order to further its interests. Egypt was known as the United Arab Republic during this conflict and it had good relations with Yemen. The new republican government was recognized by the Soviet Union and Egypt, but other western powers that had interests in Yemen such as the US and the UK, failed to disclose whether they supported the new Syrian government (Terrill and Army War College (U.S.) Strategic Studies Institute 54). The Arab league played a contradictory role during the civil war in Syria, with some members of the union supporting the republican forces while others went behind the royal forces led by Imam Mohammed Al Bdr. Egypt supported the republican forces while Imam Badr received support from Jordan and Saudi Arabia. The republican forces embraced social progress and republicanism, and were mainly present in cities, while Mohammed Al Bdr forces fought from rural areas. The conflict in Yemen was partially caused by the action of Egypt to send soldiers to support the overthrowing of the royal government. Saudi Arabia s involvement in the conflict was based on the fear that the war could overspill into its borders, and therefore, it protected its interests by lending material support to Imam Mohammed Al Bdr (Little 68). The republican forces viewed the provision of material support to royal forces by Saudi Arabia as interference in the internal affairs of Yemen. On the other hand, Saudi Arabia viewed the involvement of Egyptian troops in the conflict as a threat to its oilfields and its monarchy (Terrill and Army War College (U.S.) Strategic Studies ... Randy Rausch was an American professor of computer science, human computer interaction, and design at Carnegie Mellon University. He believed that showing appreciation for others was the strongest yet simplest act someone could do for anyone. Over the past generations, philosophers and professors from around the world have come up with different assumptions about the term gratitude. Behavioral and psychological research has shown the surprising life improvements that can stem from the practice of gratitude. A conclusion that can drawn from this research is that giving thanks makes people happier and more resilient, strengthens relationships, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... She brought a sense of relief to his life, which awoke him to the idea of recognition. Recognizing the beauty in Jenny s personality made him feel gratified to know her as a human. Also, Forest gave back to Jenny by giving her flowers and chocolates to show his appreciation for her. Forever thanking Jenny for her compassion is all Forest wanted to do. Thus, Forest Gump is an excellent example for the idea of giving thanks and broadcasting appreciative thoughts. Gratitude is used either as referring to the wellness in one s self and the wellness outside one s self. First, the acknowledgment of goodness can be in one s life. In a state of gratitude, we affirm that all in all, life is good, and has elements that make it not just worth living, but rich detail. When we show gratitude from in our lives, we are presenting a wise, beautiful idea that makes mankind realize that giving thanks should not be a choice; it should be a priority. No matter who we are, expressing acknowledgement is contagious. It is an anticoagulant drug that is used primarily for prophylaxis of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) or for patients that exhibit pulmonary embolism (PE) that have underwent specific surgery. Enoxaparin functions as a serine type endopeptidase inhibitor and targets antithrombin III. It binds to it and creates a vertex that irreversibly inactivates clotting factor Xa. Enoxaparin binding to antithrombin III also accelerates the activity of antithrombin III which is a serine protease inhibitor that modulates the activation of blood coagulation. Enoxaparin inhibits the production of prothrombin to thrombin. Antithrombin III inhibits thrombin, factors Xa, IXa, and XIa, as well as matripatase 3/TMPRSS7. With the presence of enoxaparin its inhibitory activity is increased greatly. With the Xa being catalyzed by the attachment of enoxaparin, the translation of prothrombin to thrombin is decreased. ...
