Essay On White Americans
When asked to validate a statement such as the one mentioned that references the disadvantages of
minorities versus those of White Americans the three most significant obstacles, in my opinion, are
employment, education, and crime. If you have a group of people who are subordinate in those
three categories, you have individuals who are positively underprivileged. Let us begin with
employment or joblessness. Unfortunately, socioeconomic status, income, employment, and
unemployment are determined by some level of raceand ethnicity. In the early 1980 s when low
skilled jobs and high wage workers wandered out of the central portion of the city, therefore
increasing space and inaccessibility to jobs, that was the beginning of employment trouble and
social detachment. Even after managing for local conditions, there was still a sizable extensive
employment disadvantage for blacks (D Amico Maxwell, 1995) As urban centralization increased
and industry continued to move the high, and low wages/skills and minoritymigration to the inner
cities intensified(D Amico Maxwell, 1995). It was this continued shift that left minorities reduced
to an area that suffered from high rates of joblessness, welfare dependency, crime and single parent
households. There was now an exclusion from job networks and confinement to poor quality
schooling, which materialized into lousy working habits(D Amico Maxwell, 1995).
Next, we factor in the disadvantages for minorities in education as it

Exegesis of Luke 5:27 32
Overview
The passage that was chosen was Luke 5:27 32, or the calling of Levi. This passage presents Jesus
telling Levi, a tax collector, to follow him. Levi does follow Jesus, and soon after they are having a
banquet dinner with other tax collectors. Jesus is asked why he chooses to eat with them, and he
simply responds with It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but those who are sick. I have not
come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
Levi is chosen to emphasize that he is of the worst sinners. The dinner with the sinners is a part of
Jesus mission of this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In verse 29, he is changed from Levi the tax collector to Levi (Matthew) the disciple.
Jesus exposes to the Pharisees that his point was to call sinners to repentance. The tradition of table
fellowship was quite common among the Pharisees (Green 244). The dinner represents a festive
event, depicting Levi s leaving everything. By leaving everything, Levi has repented (Green 246).
Detailed Analysis
Luke s talents include being an artist and a theologian. He was a master of Greek and can write
elegantly in Greek. In his gospel, he uses a larger vocabulary than that of Matthew and Mark
(McKenzie 525).
The Gospel of Luke was considered historical content that is still referred to Lukan themes today
(McKenzie 525). Jesus and his morals are detailed in the gospel. This book is represented by a
priestly calf. The calf is fitting because the book starts off with priests and ends with the calf (Just
2).
The writer of this gospel was most likely a Gentile Christian. The Gospel of Luke and the Acts of
the Apostles were both written by the same author. The evidence comes from the prefaces in both
books. Both are addressed to the same person (Theophilus) and both have cross references to one
another.
Synthesis
There are a couple lessons to be learned in this passage. The first is that Jesus reaches out to those
who need him the most. Jesus reaches out to Levi in the passage because he needs him the most.
The second is the Jesus is trying to recruit the poor

Pros And Cons Of Being A Multiculturality Society
To be British or not to be?
When someone must define themselves, they always ask themselves the same question. Am I
British? And where do I belong? The problematic about immigration and the right way to integrate
immigrants will always be a main discussion point in all comprehensions. Like Shaykh Hamza said,
People have more allegiance to football teams than they have to Great Britain . What does national
identity and multiculturalism mean to a society.
What does it mean to be British? Some feel British because of their love to their nation or the nation
that helped them in the way of life. Back time Great Britain had a lengthy list of colonies. Many of
the colonies result in immigrants from worldwide, mainly from Africa. The African immigrants...

A openminded society that enables different beliefs where positive aspects of one culturemay be
adopted by others to create and contribute a better society. Where every culture learns the best from
each other.
The cons of being a multicultural society is prejudice and that individuals bring the society
different experiences that can profoundly shape the society. Prejudice can harm any society and
especially a vulnerable society, where historical events can affect people s view of other who are
united.
There isn t any single definition of belonging to a national identity. Every single individual must
decide which core values as they emphasize most importantly. The best way to integrate immigrants
successfully is to be tolerant and respectful for other races and cultures. It is the keyword to
integrate successfully. The benefits of being a multicultural society is greater than the
disadvantages. A multicultural society is more unique than a homogeneous society, where everyone
looks similar. It s much more special and eventful to be a part of a multicultural society. In
multicultural societies have immigrants played a significant role in shaping the cultural landscape.
The differences from each culture defines and makes a multicultural society much more special and

Controversy is a simple yet powerful song. The title of this song really captures the time period.
The 1980 s were a time of some major social issues. There was the war on drugs and civil rights
issues. He also talks about his own personal relationship with god. In a groovy and funky song,
he still discusses very prevalent issues occuring at the time. When he sings People call me rude.
I wish we were all nude. I wish there was no black and white. I wish there were no rules , it
demonstrates that he wants no boundaries with people and wants everyone to be equals (Prince
Lyrics Controversy). He repeats these lyrics quite frequently throughout the song which entails
that in order to live in a perfect society, you must focus on the natural state of man and nothing
else. In another part of the song, he sings Our father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven Give us this day our daily bread
and forgive us our trespasses As we forgive those who trespass against us Lead us not into
temptation but deliver us from evil For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever
and ever (Prince Lyrics Controversy). These lyrics are known as The Lord s Prayer . When you

the case. He was known for being religious and

He was also an engineer and sketch many machines. His most famous ones were his flying

Comparing Dostoyevsky s Leviathan And The Grand Inquisitor
Introduction
The books Leviathan by Thomas Hobbes and The Grand Inquisitor by Fyodor Dostoyevsky
intensely discuss the two authors one sided views on what they believe the state of nature is about.
They question whether human beings are authentic or inauthentic before or without having
connections to a political, religious, economic, or social group. In Leviathan, Hobbes writes about
his perceptions on the state of nature. He believes the state of nature is characterized by man
against man, [M.A. Soupios], where every person looks out for themselves and their well being
first. This was during a time where both Hobbes and Dostoyevsky were living in a turmoil century,
there were constant and violent conditions of hate, sneakiness and everyone ... Show more content

The Sovereign should have the most power and that every man ought to endeavour peace, as far
as he has hope of obtaining it; and when he cannot obtain it, that he may seek and use all helps
and advantages of war. [p. 190] He strongly believes in control of a higher authority to maintain
an ideal state of nature, he believes that man fears and mistrusts every other man in the real
world and that there is no such thing as injury or justice, he even goes on to state that it is absurd
. Hobbes believes the Law of Nature is that the authority of the sovereign is absolute , in the
sense that no authority is above the sovereign and that its will is law. Hobbes says, that every
man has a right to every thing; even to one another s body. And therefore, as long as this natural
right of every man to every thing endureth, there can be no security to any man. [p.190] In this
quote he means that in the state of nature you have no (human) rights of property, self, and
everyone else has a right to what you take as yours. This goes alongside Hobbes controlled
ideological views of an ideal state. Hobbes discuses the mutual transferring of rights where a social
contract subsequently leads man to leave the state of nature, and enter into a contract to transfer the
right to thing, exchanges of goods or land and money. He goes against this as he feels that man
may become dependent on things, subsequently it will threaten and perhaps collapse the
sovereignty because the power of it is compromised and wont be able to protect

Birth Control Importance
The Importance of Teenage Access to Contraceptives
About 77% of all teenage pregnancies are accidental, and of those, 30% end in abortion, the solution
preventing the unwanted pregnancies at hand is the guaranteed access to over the counter birth
control. Girls avoid contraceptives for many reasons, whether it be prohibiting parents, lack of
education, or monetary issues concerning health care. These limitations cumulatively lead to
teenage pregnancies, which amount to far greater sacrifice and consequence than the simple ability
for a teenage girl to walk into a pharmacy and purchase a pill, or patch of her choice which could
prevent a child being brought into this world to unwilling, and incompetent parents. Access to over
the counter birth control could solve these problems, and ultimately limit the amount of teenage
pregnancies in America.
Many parents do not allow their children to take birth control. Their intentions, although in the right
place, do not always produce the outcome they originally long for. Whether their reasoning stems

In the case where birth control were to be offered over the counter, young women would not
need the approval of their guardian, they could purchase it just as any other item in a pharmacy.
The embarrassment a young woman has when asking her father for birth control is
unimaginable. If her parents don t allow her to take birth control in the first place, why would
they be pleased with the idea of her having sex? Easier access can put a cap on this
embarrassment and discomfort and create a less negative connotation on the subject of birth
control for teenage girls. This could also improve upon the home life of young women in their
relationship with their parents. In this case, the act of teenage sex isn t always preventable, and for
the parents ignorance is

Exegesis Abram was a man of seventy five years when we received his call. The readers are
introduced to the call of Abram who at that time was called by this name.
The text comes after the story of creation in Genesis, and before the destruction of Sodom and
Gomorra. The book of Genesis is said to belong to many different traditions, and therefore, is said
to be a narrative. This book is a collection of oral and written records.
Genesis 3 records mankind s disobedience to God which was eating the forbidden fruit. Genesis 4
mentions about Cain killing his brother Abel, another act of disobedience that he should not have
chosen to be a part of. Later in Genesis 5, we read about humankind s sins and the story of the
flood that took place in Noah s time. Further, Genesis mentions humankind s another big act, the
incident of the Tower of Babel. All these were the bad incidents and it is in Genesis 12:1 4 that we
get to see what God initiating a call is about.
One commentary states concerning a call wherever the call was issued, its substance was the same:

Analysis Of How To Tame A Wild Tongue
In How to Tame a Wild Tongue by Gloria Anzaldua, she speaks from personal experiences she
grows up with while living as a Chicana in the United States. Throughout her life she was
subjected to being oppressed because of her native language. From a very young age she felt as
if she was not allowed to express and acknowledge herself while speaking Spanish. Anzaldua
believes that If you want to really hurt me, talk bad about my language. Ethnic identity is twin
skin to linguistic identity I am my language . What I get from this quote is if a person is really

Anzaldua repeats this claim throughout the text, informing her readers about language
discrimination within the people that share the same culture as she does but not the same language.
Anzaldua s audience is everyone, ranging from immigrants to native United States citizens. In her
text she uses examples that many people can relate to when English isn t their first language or
they have a unique difference from the majority. An example I chose to back up my claim is one
from Anzaldua s past experiences, this takes place in her childhood dentist office where from the
imagery she gives us shows she annoyed with some of the state the dentist is saying about her
strong [and] stubborn (206) tongue. Even though the comments made by the dentist wasn t
directed towards her language and accent, the way she feels while he s speaking to her show that
she already has some insecurities with the way she speaks. She believes that her language is
something that defines her, and if people have a problem with how she speaks they have made up
negative assumptions about her.
Throughout this essay, Anzaldua hold a prideful yet informative tone. When she tells her stories
from her childhood, the tone changes to disbelief as she remembers all hardships she had to go
through. Anzaldua gives another example of when her teachers mispronounced her name and as
she tried to correct them they told her If she wants

Benefits Of Using Abdominal Subcutaneous Tissue And...
Ideally biopsies of abdominal subcutaneous tissue and salivary glands should be used for the
Congo red staining test, and it is positive if the sample has apple green birefringence in appearance
under polarized light. If the sample was inconclusive or negative, then the provider should have the
affected organ biopsied to ensure an accurate diagnosis. The reason one should investigate for
amyloiddeposits via more invasive biopsy techniques is due to the higher risk of mortality
associated with misdiagnosis and delayed or lack of treatment. If renal biopsies are warranted,
sufficient amounts of amyloid deposits can be found around the glomerular basement membranes.
Urine testing for paraprotein is not specific enough for the diagnosis of AL, for many
gammopathies present with this in the urine. Once biopsies are positive, then the amyloid deposits
should be tested via immunofluorescence microscopy to obtain valuable information regarding its
makeup. Immunohistochemistry can be used as well, but it is not as successful in providing
compositional information for AL as immunofluorescence. AL should be differentiated from the
other forms of amyloidosis, such as hereditary amyloidosis, inflammatory amyloidosis, and
hemodialysis related amyloidosis. Randall type light chain deposition disease (LCDD) should also
be included in the differential (Desport et al., 2012).

Contrast Between Love and Violence in Shakespeare s Romeo...
William Shakespeare was born in Stratford upon Avon in the time of Elizabeth I. Romeo Juliet is
one of his most famous plays and has always been extremely popular in mainstream and in
contemporary media, mainly because the ideals and issues brought up in the play are still very
valid in modern times. The play revolves around the, aptly named, Romeo Juliet and their forbidden
love and their struggle to love one another with each others families, Capulets and Montagues,
feuding with each other, underneath the romanticism it is a story of a plan going wrong. I am
going to analyse and interpret how two very contrasting things; love and violence relate to each
other in the play, the effect they have on the characters and the events that... Show more content on

Another thing that can be used as evidence to show this is a feud is the sheer length of the affair,
in which there is several fights with no sign of either side backing down, until the Prince shows
up and declares that if there are anymore disagreements there will be dire consequences, the fact
of the Prince getting involved also shows that the feud is a big thing, that, and the punishment of
death if there is another fight, shows this is a full throttle family war underpinning the whole

everything would ve been fine if not for the families feuding. Other, more subtle, conflicts in the
play are Romeo s feelings for Rosaline as well as Juliet, Romeo thought that Rosaline was a nice
girl whom he could love, but she turned out to be shallow and so he is sad, during this time he is

taught to let animals live and die a natural death. Even though they know nonviolence cannot be
perfectly practiced they try their best to live it. Each Jain is responsible for its own salvation.
Aparigraha is one of the fundamental doctrines of Jainism, somewhat like Ahimsa and Anekantvad
derived from Sanskrit. Aparigraha stands for non possession, non attachment, and non greed.

Is The American Dream Still Alive
The American Dream Is the american dream still alive to this day? Is it still possible for those
that come from foreign countries or those living a moderate american life to rise out of being
employed and become self employed? You may ask yourself is it truly worth the time, money,
and effort to go to college, get an education, and invest in a new business? Some people still
believe that being self employed and wealthy is still attainable, as long as you put in enough
thought, effort, and time. The american dream has changed immensely over the course of time the
U.S. has been around, but people all around the world still come to America in search for the
American Dream. Sure there are plenty of people that are living it big as millionaires

The Advantages Of Deep Brain Stimulation
Deep brain stimulation (DBS) is a neurosurgical procedure introduced in 1987. This procedure uses
the implantation of a medical device called neurostimulator. A neurostimulator sends electrical
impulses, through implanted electrodes, to specific targets in the brain for the treatment of
movement and neuropsychiatric (branch of medicine that deals with mental disorders) disorders.
DBS in select brain regions has provided therapeutic benefits for disorders such as Parkinson s
disease, essential tremor, chronic pain, major depression and obsessive compulsive disorder
(OCD). DBS and its underlying principles and mechanisms are still not clear. DBS directly changes
brain activity in a controlled manner, its effects are reversible unlike other techniques, and it is one
of only a few neurosurgical methods that allow blinded studies. Deep Brain Stimulationis approved
by FDA in USA.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Essay on Minorities in Song of Solomon
Minorities within Minorities in Song of Solomon
In a study about minorities, the groups that are differing from the dominant culture are seen as
homogeneous. But, if we look deeper into the groups, we can see that there are distinctions among
the minorities concerning lifestyle and social status. In Toni Morrison s Song of Solomon the
author provides examples in the background of the story that shows people with differential
identities of the general identity of the minority group.
The character Macon Dead and his family is represented as differing from the society they live in
with their social status. They are rich and try to live like white people. It is important for Macon

It is not for the sake of his family or to have fun, but to make everybody see his car. These rides
were a way to satisfy himself that he was indeed a successful man (31). It is impressive how
Morrison reflects Macon s desires in life with the route of the Sunday rides: ...through the rough
part of town, over the bypass downtown, and headed for the wealthy white neighborhoods (32).
The difference between Milkman and his father is that he was born rich and does not have the
ambitions of his father. But, because of the way he was raised, he cannot prevent himself from
acting different from the African American society. In fact, we see that he has only Guitar as a
friend. He likes to spend time with women in parties. The result of his wealthy life and the fact that
he was raised in a city shows us his distinction from the society when he arrives in Shalimar.
When Milkman talks with the shopkeeper Mr. Solomon, he grows up the anticipation of the people
around him. The reasons why they are offended by Milkman is clearly stated in the following
passage:
They looked with hatred at the city Negro who could buy a car as if it were a bottle of whiskey
because the one he had was broken. And what s more, who had said so in front of them. He hadn t
bothered to say his name, nor ask theirs, had called them them, and would certainly despise their

Ifrs Vs. Us Gaap Essay
For years, IASB and FASB have been working diligently on convergence with IFRS. Different
countries develop their own accounting standards based on their unique rules, principles,
business base, and tax; however, with globalization it s very important to reconcile between
different accounting standards. Two major standards are the US GAAP and IFRS, and they
share many differences and similarities. One of the main differences is the conceptual approach
and framework, IFRS is principle based whilst US GAAP is rule based (Forgeas, 2008). When
comparing IFRS and US GAAP, we can discover many differences in several areas. Based on note
27 of Swisscom s consolidated financial statements, today we are going to reconcile and restate its
financial statements based on capitalization of interest cost, restructuring charges, depreciation
expense, capitalization of software, and restructuring charges of affiliates. Debit Credit Property,
plant and equipment$ 54.00 Depreciation and amortization$ 5.00 Interest expense$ 13.00 Retained
earnings$ 46.00 First, let s look at capitalization on interest cost. Note 27 states that under US
GAAP, Swisscom would have capitalized CHF 13 million and amortized 5 million for current year.
Based on this information, we can make an adjustment entry to debit 54 million property, plant and
equipment; 5 million to depreciation and amortization. On the other hand, credit interest expense of

Texas Holdem Excellence Essay
Texas Holdem Excellence
How do we define odds to ourselves? Are they things that happen because they are suppose to or
are they things that were written and statistics made them happen. Odds and statistics play major
roles in almost every event in life. They affect everything from who we marry and how long it
lasts right down to what shoes we wear. These odds and statistics are very noticeable to everyone
especially in a game of Texas hold em poker. The game has some skills involved but the odds still
apply to the type of cards a player is dealt in order to use his skills. This poker game is new and is
played by many but only mastered by a few. I happen to look at myself as some one who has
mastered the game.

Around seven that evening we all showed up at brads. The cars filled the street of the quiet
community to the point people were walking half a mile to get to his house. When I walked in
to his extremely extravagant house I heard all the commotion downstairs. There were people
yelling all kinds of things and all of this before the poker even began. As I walked down stairs I was
greeted by brad and his brother Brian. Brad said Hey buddy how s it going? Followed by You have
the cash so we can put you in a bracket. I replied back Not much, and of course I have the cash, I
wouldn t leave home with out it. He then continued to tell me that I was in bracket four which had
some pretty good players but a lot of new comers to the game. I was looking forward to my first

This game of Texas holdem is a new age of poker the basic way the game is played is as follows.
First the dealer deals each player two cards and the player then bets on the cards in his or her
hand. After each player acts the dealer burry s the top card then deal the flop which is the first
three cards face up in the center. These cards can be used by all the players and each player uses

An Anatomical Analysis of the Tennis Serve
Introduction
Tennis serve is the shot that starts off the point. It is normally instigated by pitching the ball into
the air and thumping it into the diagonally opposite service box exclusive of touching the net.
This act is attained underhand or overhead. It is the only attempt where a player takes his time to
position up, instead of reacting to an opponent s shot. In doing this, high percentages of the efforts
are normally exerted at the upper extremity of the body, while the rest at the lower extremity of the
body. the serves comes in five main types of which includes; cannonball or flat serve, topspin slice
serve, slice serve, American twist serve and the topspin serve. The paper will focus on the some of
the types of the serves and the ways in which the upper extremity are involved in the game. With
this, it will look at the movements that occur at each of the upper extremity together with the
muscles that are in use at the joints.
The upper extremities are linked to the shaft by means of the shoulder girdle. These parts of the
body includes; the shoulder girdle together with the shoulder blade and collar bone, the upper arm
together with the humerus, the lower arm with the radius, the hand with carpus and lastly the
metacarpus and fingers. During the implication of the different types of the serve, the extremities
are used in different ways in that, they are involved in different movement and different types of the

Herodotus, consider as the father of history, was born in the ancient Halicarnassus, current Turkey,

Examples Of Code Of Ethics In Nursing Practice

Nursing Practice. I have chosen it because in her writing she has mentioned about professional
conduct, code of ethics, its purpose in the nursing career and some of the essential guidelines for
applying these ethicsin the field of nursing.
Professional conduct is the reference point on the basis of which the acceptable manner has to
be portrayed by the professional person. Regardless of their job title, position or place of work, a
person needs to act and carry his responsibility in a professional way. (CFA, June 2014). Code of

A nurse who is knowledgeable and is sensitive to gather all these information will be able to
convey a qualitative nursing care. Every individual nurse is accountable to provide quality care as
well as promoting the care to uplift the standard of nursing care. The initial assessment of patient
requirements, preferences, their values, and beliefs need to be done. Accordingly, care has to be
planned and implemented. (Australia, Aug 2008).
Appropriate recording and reporting are also fundamental in promoting quality care. Care will be
more effective if provided collectively as a team. Providing care is one duty but side by side equal
priority should be in maintaining and following own ethics and principles. This is how sustainable
and appropriate care can be administered which will further contribute to maintaining dignity and
integrity of the profession. (Lachman, 2009)

Disability In The Workplace Essay
For this assignment, I decided to assess and identify how a place in the community can enable or
hinder participation for people experiencing disability in my workplace, Sportchek east. I was
curious to see how my workplace compared to the standards towards helping to enable the
experience of someone experiencing a disability. Sportchek is a company that sells athletic wear and
sports equipment. At the beginning of this assignment, I thought that Sportchek was, for the most
part, accessible. But I was incorrect and naive in my assumption.

Since Sportchek is attached to a mall, Regina s public transit system does have a stop located on
the side of the mall and a stop behind as well. The bus is easy to use and wheelchair accessible,

Nature And Nurture In In Cold Blood By Perry Smith
A debate on whether or not Perry Smith was more controlled by nature and nurture when
committing crimes is a hot topic. Most solemnly believe that this is what manipulated the
actions that Perry took. According to www.simplypsychology.org, Nature is what we think of as
pre wiring and is influenced by genetic inheritance and other biological factors. Nurture is
generally taken as the influence of external factors after conception e.g. the product of exposure,
experience and learning on an individual. Due to Perry Smith s exposure to abuse, the
abandonment emotionally and physically from his family, and influential behavior from Dick, it
led him to making extreme actions such as committing murder and other crimes. Capote, in In
Cold Blood , helps portray Perry Smith the way those in Holcomb view him while also
frequently adding in his personal life throughout the novel, such as him being abused while he
was under the care of nuns and those running the shelter. In the novel, Perry goes into detail as to
how he was abused, he even said that he remembered it all. At the Catholic orphanage he was
abused for wetting the bed constantly, She woke me up. She had a flashlight, and she hit me with
it. Hit me and hit me. And when the flashlight broke, she went on hitting me in the dark (p. 58)
Then, after his mother died, Perry s father took him but left him in a Salvation Army shelter where
he was abused for not only bed wetting but for being half Indian as well, There was

Guinea, Mauritius, South Africa, and Libya are included in the top 100 world rank of GDP per
capita. As the climate in African countries have warranted droughts and scarce rainfall, the
citizens of the impoverished countries are left to travel miles for clean water whereas those in
more affluent neighboring countries do not have to go too far for the things they need (Nilsson
Nyanchaga, p.136). Additionally, there is inequality within various African countries as well, as
urban populations have access to piped water, whereas rural populations do not. The supply of
water is not evenly dispersed nor is it easily accessible due to the lack of resources and low
economies.

Wildlife Welfare In Wildlife
Welfare in Wildlife For decades in America, a collision between environmental conservation and
urbanization has placed natural habitats and wildlife at risk. Today, in regions such as the Rio
Grande Valley, 95 percent of native habitat has been negatively affected by or lost to human
activities such as water diversions, agriculture, industrialization, and urbanization (USGS 7). This
habitat serves as crucial landscape to species that make the R.G.V. their northern and southern most
points in migratory and nonmigratory patterns. Unfortunately, environmental concern is often
disregarded, resulting in a decrease of wildlife populations that has led to threatened and endangered
species. Because of this, greater efforts must be made by conservation organizations to restore and
preserve native habitat, thus promoting wildlife welfare. As a conservationist for the U.S
Department of Interior, my regards towards wildlife welfare in public and private lands is strongly
supported by scientific research, economic impact, and legislature. Current administrative actions,
however, have been amongst the most threatening in years for environmental efforts, partly due to
administrative disregard for environmental changes and impacts. After the reassignment of
department secretaries earlier this year, republicans have introduced more than 60 bills attacking
public lands, weakening environmental safeguards on those lands, or turning over their control to
states and local governments

First, many have argued that Thatcherism contributed significantly into economic recovery of
Britain after the war. This is mainly visible in its quest to control the rate of inflation which was a
success. However, this success has been criticized for the huge level of unemployment it brought
with it. The policy also managed to instill competition in the economy which facilitated growth of
the economy. This was necessary to salvage the image which was heavily dented on the
international scene. With these efforts, the conservative party had managed to win back the trust of
its citizens. Thatcherism also brought the theory of monetarism. Through this theory, they
discovered that inflation was caused by injecting excess money into the economy by printing money
and this situation could be controlled by using the instruments of monetary policy to mop up the
excess money supply. However, some economists have argued that the negative impacts of this
policy overshadowed its positive contributions hence the system is considered a failure (Harvey

Application And Network Performance For Many Service...
1. Introduction The Domain Name System (DNS) is a major component of the Internet that maps
human understandable names to machine level IP addresses. From the past few years, as the
Internet are evolved across the regions, more service providers started using DNS in a way which
was not meant such cases were used often in content delivery networks (CDNs), NXDOMAIN
Remapping and URL auto completion. But the paper mainly focus on the new class of DNS misuse
called disposable domains and author found that various service providers, popular search engines,
social networks and security companies, started heavily using automatically generated domain
names to send one time signal to their servers. These disposable domains are generally created on
demand in abundant which belongs to common parent DNS zones. They have unique cache hit rate
percent which distinguish them from non disposable domains (Yizheng et al., 2014). These unique
ways of using DNS, invents the new useful applications and network performance for many service
providers. Hence, claimed that it is important to monitor and analyse the DNS usage from the
Internet service providers within ISP network and make sure under what conditions current DNS
practices are employed such that there should not be any negative impact on the network
infrastructure. In this paper, author and his team design a system that automatically identifies the
disposable domains and observes the detailed measurements on how disposable domains are

Six Sigma Reflection
The first guest speaker that spoke to our class was David Klug. He came to talk about Six Sigma
and LEAN Integrations. He used to work for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Nebraska and this is
where he first started to implement these programs. He no longer works there, but his presentation
what over this company and how they adapted to the Six Sigmaand LEAN programs. Right away he
said something that caught my attention and that was that he emphasized that the culture of the
business is the key in implementing these programs and without culture a company will not be
successful. We found out throughout the presentation that that statement was very true. Six Sigma
is a methodology that uses tools to improve an organization. The tools assist in identifying the

The Pros And Cons Of Critical Rationalism
Introduction
My essay is about the second issue where teachers have to follow the prescribed curriculum in the
country and they also have to teach or transfer the curriculum content as it is with no additions of
other information to the learners. This essay is written in a critical rationalism philosophical
perspective. I will cover the implications for me as a student teacher, the meaning of this,
advantages, disadvantages, my critical reflection and etc.
Body
Critical Rationalism believes that we should question what we are told by authorities and that we
should examine our own ideas. This perspective believes that human beings can solve their
problems by thinking critically or clearly about things and discussing everything openly, it also
focuses on avoiding falsity. Critical Rationalism is a process of solving problems by trial and error
and it tells us that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This document says that teachers should equip learners with knowledge, skills and values,
regardless of their differences so that they can achieve self fulfilment and for meaningful
participation in society as citizens of a free country. Learners should be provided with access to
higher education but I believe that this is not possible for all learners because some learners can t
afford to go to school due to no funds being available for them where as some learners are
privileged enough to go to school to get an

Many of the world large indusial companies in foreign countries do not follow regulations for
pollution and carbon dioxide (Co2). The toxic waste is causing major health issues for not only
the people that live in these countries but the world. These gasses have been found in our water

layer helps protect the earth and its population from the harmful ultraviolet radiation from the sun.

These changes are expected to have considerable impacts on human health. Mounting evidence
suggests current and future effects on human health, including injuries and illnesses from severe
weather events, like floods, and heat exposure. Increases in allergic, respiratory, vector borne,
and waterborne diseases; and threats to food and water supplies. Indirect effects may include
anxiety and depression and the consequences of mass migration and regional conflicts.
Addressing these occurrences is a pressing challenge for public health. Although the scope and
complexity of the problem are unprecedented, the theoretical framework for responding draws on
long standing public health thinking per the article published by Frumkin, Hess, Luber, Malilay,
McGeehin, (2008). Identified in the article by Satterthwaite, Huq, Pelling, Rerd, Lankao, (2007).
The differentials in greenhouse gas emissions per person between rich and poor groups can be
much larger than the gaps between rich and poor nations. For example, the greenhouse gas
emissions generated as a result of the high consumption lifestyle of a very wealthy person or
household is likely to be hundreds of thousands or even millions of times more than that generated
by many low income families in low income nations. The very existence of some small island and
some low income countries is that much of their land area is at high risk from sea level rise, yet

Ethical Dilemma Reflection
Reflective Essay Ethical Dilemma and Decision Making When asked to reflect on an ethical
dilemma that I faced in life, it really makes me think of all the possible situations that happened
in my personal and professional life. There are several instances where I have faced ethical
dilemma but I wish to point out to one such instance that I encountered at my workplace where I
was able to take decision based on my conscience and I feel I have made the right choice and
below is the reflective account of that incident.
Situation: I started working for a large IT outsourcing company right after my graduation for a
period of 3 years. After a year, I had my long term friend joining the same company and it ever
happened that she joined my team as my subordinate for the same project. Since it is a software
based company, we usually work in teams and each of our work is made systematic in a way that
each and every team member s work is interrelated. After a period of time my friend who was also
my subordinate at work started abusing her flex time at work and was taking time off because her
kid fell sick often.
Since we work in a team to meet the end results of our business client, we expect each team
member to deliver his/ her work without any down time. I did insist her several times to ... Show

One choice was to be loyal to my company and to my job by highlighting her activities and
setting up inquiries at the managerial level and the second choice is to falsify and encourage her
activities on the basis of friendship as her kid is involved in this and I will have to do work which
was rightfully hers and it questions my guilt that I am eventually reinforcing her to take many more
offs that will affect the team

McDiets Supersize Me is a documentary by Morgan Spurlock trying to convince his audience that
this statement is false. Spurlock uses many structural and presentational devices to affect us on a
personal level. One of the structural devices Spurlock uses is dividing each individual attack on
McDonalds or otherwise into chapters. Each chapter change is represented by a piece of dramatic
artwork, which puts McDonalds into a negative spotlight. One chapter is titled The Last Supper
which is a biblical allusion. Furthermore he tells us what day he is on. This all gives a sense of
organization and structure to his argument making it that much... Show more content on

Yet this is another point where he undermines himself because eating McDonalds food as a
healthy diet does not involve eating until nauseous. Simple Flash animations are used
throughout the documentary. By not using big expensive and complication animations it
enhances the view of Man against the big bad McDonald Clown appealing to us because he s on
our level. His inclusion of sophisticated words quoted from doctors actually undermines his
argument as this sets us in a state of mind of not understanding a word of what the doctors say
but when the use normal everyday language we immediately pick it out. For example one such
incident after the doctors list us with a bunch of diseases he concludes what spurlock is setting
out to do is Patient is embarking on a one month McDonald Binge . The word binge distances us
from Spurlock, as the average person doesn t binge fast food. The Doctors start predictions about
what is going to happen. Therefore our shock all the more greater as everyone realizes that the
effects are much more serious. The effects are exaggerated further as to counter the effects
Spurlock must go on a Detox diet. We relate the word Detox with harmful addictive drugs. He then
proceeds to touch on the act that fast food could be addictive such as stating that when he hasn t
eaten he feels miserable but feels great afterwards which is included in a segment actually titled

Stereotypes In New Penzance
The Anderson feel; made up places, goofy characters, and the veering away from the Hollywood
norms creates a unique feel for the movie. Tidal Inlet, an isolated honeymoon paradise for young
lovers, retreat in an attempt to live together. Moonrise kingdom a terra Incognita, a cluster of
imaginary islands. The name of the primary island as told by the Gnome like narrator, New
Penzance, reminds us of fantasy world s most kids thought up as young adolescents. A classic
portrayal of two lovers in a Romantic comedy, however unlike typical Hollywood portrayals, of
neither a beach that is sunny nor an ideal sense beautiful. Yet it is beautiful in its own way with
the sand dirty on a foggy day, the perfect place for the two to retreat for their first home. The
isolation of the characters is obvious as there seems to be no sign of civilization anywhere. Both

African American Identity
Iman Zahra
What, according to these writers of the Harlem Renaissance, are the sources of African American
identity?
The Discovery of African American Identity
In the 1900s African American have slowly started to gain their rights after the end of slavery. It
was a difficult and tedious process; however, they never gave up on what they believed in, which is
racial equality . African Americanstood together in organizations, marches, and unions because
they had something that united them which wasn t just skin color; it was inequality and slavery.
African Americans came together to celebrate the New Negro . They created an identity for
themselves through history and culture, and it spread nationwide with the creation of the Harlem
Renaissance . Harlem became the center of African American culture and the grassroots of African
American history, or as Alain Locke has called it: Harlem: Mecca of the New Negro.
According to Afro Americans in New York Life and History, The development of the Harlem
Renaissance was a result of two factors: First of all, the immigration that started during the war
which gave African Americans the motivation to become more confident of who they are, and more
responsible for their race and rights. They became defiant, bitter, and impatient. They would not
take silence and inequality as an answer. They expressed themselves through the Harlem
Renaissance. The second reason is the riots that followed World War I . African Americans fighted

Determination Of The Presence Of Herpes Simplex
Determination of the presence of Herpes simplex through Indirect ELISA
Priscilla Mariel M. Cadiz
Biology Department, De La Salle University, 2401 Taft Ave, Manila, Philippines
*Email: cadizpriscillamariel@yahoo.com
Sexually transmitted disease is currently one of the major health concerns in the world today.
Herpes simplex virus is one cause of STDs. There are two types of HSV present namely HSV 1
which is often found in the mouth area and HSV 2 found at the genitals. Indirect ELISA was used in
order to determine the presence of Herpes simplex among 3 different samples. Indirect ELISA
involves two antibodies; the primary antibody which is bound to the antigen and secondary
antibody bound to the primary antibody. Results produced by indirect ELISA produces better
amplified signal. Results obtained showed that 1 of the 3 samples tested positive for HSV.
Indirect ELISA however cannot determine what specific type of HSV is present in the sample.
The cause of HSV 1 is the exchange of body fluids particularly obtained through kissing while
sexual contact causes HSV 2. Though it rarely happens, there are possibilities that false positive or
false negative results were obtained in Indirect ELISA. Interference may cause error.

This book written by Tacitus is significant in multiple ways as one of the first documented points
of history of this time period. In the first part of the book, it highlights the life of commander
Agricola, one the greatest commanders who ruled over Britain. Being his son in law, Tacitus uses
his personal experience and the stories that Agricola had told him portraying his rise to leadership in
Britain. Although knowing little about leadership and war, Tacitushad the best account of Agricola
s life in all aspects. He talks about Agricola s early life from his military training, his years in the
military that promoted through the ranks upto commander, then his battles against the rebels forces
of Britain at the time. At his old age he recalls

High speed railway (HRL) systems have been used primarily over in such countries as Japan since
1964 and France since 1984. Recently the United States has generated interest in the high speed
railway as well. The proposed system would stretch from Miami through Orlando and end in the St.
Petersburg/Tampa area. With bullet trains operating at top speeds of 220 miles an hour, the express
travel time from downtown Miami to Orlando would take approximately 2.5 hours. Intercity
travelers (trips between metropolitan regions) along with longer distance commuters would enjoy

Louisiana Purchase Dbq Analysis
During the early 1800s, the third president of the United States, Thomas Jefferson, bought the
Louisiana Territory. This acquired piece of land came to be known as the Louisiana Purchase. The
territory consisted of various Native Indian tribes which Jefferson sent Lewis and Clark to explore.
Based on the provided documents, the conclusion that can be made is that Lewis and Clark were
not respectful to the Native Americans because not only did they kill members of their tribe, but
they wiped out their culture as a whole. In document A, Thomas Jefferson, the current President at
the time, sent a letter to Meriwether Lewis with specific instructions on how to approach the Native
Indians which was in a placatory and friendly fashion (Document A).

Comparing The Picture Book And Because Of Winn-Dixie
Introduction
This paper focuses on two books, the picture book and realistic novel. I am hopeful while doing
a critical analysis of these two books that it would help me to create an effective mini library in
my future classroom. I would like to use it as a helpful tool to teach children how to compare the
differences and similarities of the two genres and many more. I have chosen Corduroy as my
picture book and Because of Winn Dixie as my realistic novel to write on this written critique
because it signifies the moral lessons about family importance and friendship.
According to Skolnick Skolnick, Family in Transition there are three ways to defined a family.
The first definition is people related by blood, marriage, or adoption and ... Show more content on

She does not have any doubt to buy Corduroy even though he is missing a button on his shoulder
straps. This show that Lisa is willingly accepts Corduroy with or without the missing button. The
word choices are very engaging on every page. It truly allows the children to be imaginative by
reading it or just by looking on the illustrations.
The mother s reaction when she saw Corduroy missing the button abruptly dismisses him. She
directly judges him that he doesn t look new. The statement gives a huge impact of how we view
things, people, and how narrow minded we are of so many things. I know I am guilty about this
and I need myself to be reminded how to be positive when in the worst situation in our life
happened. We should challenge ourselves to do more and to do better act. This would allow us
to show a positive outlook in life for the children. It would help the children to learn to handle
emotions whether it is bad or good. It could also help us to provide the children some good
examples to model ourselves to make them feel that we are all special in every way and that we
are all unique. My view, at that moment Corduroy knew deep down that he wants somebody to
care for him. That is why he is willing to find his missing button.
This makes sense to Corduroy to look around the departments store maybe he could find the
missing button on his shoulder strap. My response on this part is that Corduroy portrays curiosity.
He wants to be accepted and hoping that

Construction of Fort Clinch began in 1847. The fort took the shape of an irregular pentagon
having five tower bastions. Each bastion was made of masonry with chambers beneath, in order
to store munitions for the artillery that were placed on top of the bastion. The bastions are
specifically placed so no matter where an enemy combatant would approach at least two of the
bastions could engage in combat operations within their, ROF, range of fire. Multiple foot
soldiers would also point their attention towards the opposing front. The original design of the
fort was to house 500 soldiers and 78 pieces of artillery. Officers of the Army Corps of Engineers
directed a civilian workforce to construct the fort. In 1860, progress was slow and only two
thirds of the walls were completed, yet not a single piece of artillery was in place. Rooms that
were completed include the guard rooms, prison, lumber sheds, and carpentry shops. Leaving the
storehouse and kitchen unfinished, and with the brink of the Civil War upon them, there is still
not a single piece of artillery in place. In 1861, the Civil War is underway. As Florida seceded
from the Union, Confederate forces take control of Fort Clinch. Instead of completing the buildup
process of the fort, Confederate forces establish batteries in Fernandina, Amelia, and Cumberland
Island. The Federal s use

Comparing Johann Liss And Shepherd And Camille Corot s...
Johann Liss s Nymph and Shepherd and Camille Corot s Diana and Actaeon (Diana Surprised in
Her Bath) evoke themes of female exposure under male surveillance. Both artists interject two
male figures in the background of their paintings, one, the shepherd and Actaeon, is named and
the other is unknown. Liss personifies danger and protection through his two men while Corot
uses them as a narrative device to illustrate several moments in one space. Liss is particularly
heedful of the sinister nature he crafts through the vulnerable, exposed, and unsupported nature of
the nymph. Corot, on the other hand, creates a scene where the female subjects have a strong
leader in Diana and are connected to and supported by their environment. Both artists achieve
these differing interpretations by diverging in their use of space, color, and relationships between
figures and landscape. Liss and Corot achieve very distinct goals through the two male figures
placed in their works, but they both primarily place the men spatially behind the women in
positions of surveillance. Liss places the shepherd behind and overlooking the nymph; he is
identified as a shepherd because of the crook in his right hand. His profession is significant
because it alters how the viewer perceives him. Without this knowledge, he would look threatening
because of the dark value of the color of his body and the positioning of his crook above the
nymph, perhaps in an attempt to harm her. Despite this, the layperson knows

Louisville And Nashville R. V. Mottley Summary
Case Citation: Louisville and Nashville R. Co. v. Mottley, 211 U.S. 149 (1908)
Parties: Louisville and Nashville Railroad Company, Petitioner E.L Mottley and Annie E. Mottley,
Defendants
Facts: E.L. Mottley and his wife, Annie E. Mottley, (plaintiffs) were passengers on board a train
operated by the Louisville and Nashville Railroad Company (defendants). Both the plaintiffs
and the defendant are citizens of the state of Kentucky. The plaintiffs, while passengers on board
a train, were injured in a train wreck on September 7, 1871. The defendants offered the injured
plaintiffs a free pass from the defendant s railroad company in exchange for the agreement that
they would not bring suit upon the defendant. The plaintiffs accepted the free passes which
would be renewed yearly. Several decades later, in 1906, a law was passed by the U.S. Congress
banning free railroad passes. This was passed in order to prevent bribery on government workers
and officials. This caused the defendant to refuse the plaintiffs renewal of their free passes in which
they then filed suit for specific performance in the Circuit Court for the Western District of
Kentucky. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The plaintiffs stated that the law that was passed by congress did not apply to them because that
law was passed decades after they were offered and they accepted the free passes from the
defendants. They also argued that if the law passed by congress did apply to them then the law
should be considered unconstitutional due to the law depriving the defendants their property
without due process of law. The defendant attempted to object the pleadings of the plaintiff in
which the judge of the Circuit court overruled and awarded relief to the plaintiffs. The defendants
then appealed straight to the United States Supreme

Summary
France and Brazil have shown to have different economies, but are both significant contributors in
the global economy. The two countries are active and of importance to international trade, and
although France has more access to the European Markets, Brazil has an opportunity in the
international markets. The opportunity comes because Brazil has high interest rates, which
investors will probably find attractive. There are differences in the economic profiles of the two
countries and also similarities. One of the differences is in the government s role in international
affairs, where, the French government plays minimal roles, whereas the Brazilian government plays
a significant role in terms of policy making. Because of this the expansionary monetary policy put
in place failed to realise the anticipated economic growth. The fiscal policies are also similar;
while Brazil has experienced a fiscal restraint, France has followed parts of the EU fiscal stability
to achieve economic stability. Despite this the two countries, for the

  • 2. Essay On White Americans When asked to validate a statement such as the one mentioned that references the disadvantages of minorities versus those of White Americans the three most significant obstacles, in my opinion, are employment, education, and crime. If you have a group of people who are subordinate in those three categories, you have individuals who are positively underprivileged. Let us begin with employment or joblessness. Unfortunately, socioeconomic status, income, employment, and unemployment are determined by some level of raceand ethnicity. In the early 1980 s when low skilled jobs and high wage workers wandered out of the central portion of the city, therefore increasing space and inaccessibility to jobs, that was the beginning of employment trouble and social detachment. Even after managing for local conditions, there was still a sizable extensive employment disadvantage for blacks (D Amico Maxwell, 1995) As urban centralization increased and industry continued to move the high, and low wages/skills and minoritymigration to the inner cities intensified(D Amico Maxwell, 1995). It was this continued shift that left minorities reduced to an area that suffered from high rates of joblessness, welfare dependency, crime and single parent households. There was now an exclusion from job networks and confinement to poor quality schooling, which materialized into lousy working habits(D Amico Maxwell, 1995). Next, we factor in the disadvantages for minorities in education as it ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Exegesis of Luke Carroll College| Exegesis of Luke 5:27 32| Biblical Exegesis Paper| | | | Jennifer Hess | 4/25/2010 Exegesis of Luke 5:27 32 Overview The passage that was chosen was Luke 5:27 32, or the calling of Levi. This passage presents Jesus telling Levi, a tax collector, to follow him. Levi does follow Jesus, and soon after they are having a banquet dinner with other tax collectors. Jesus is asked why he chooses to eat with them, and he simply responds with It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but those who are sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. Levi is chosen to emphasize that he is of the worst sinners. The dinner with the sinners is a part of Jesus mission of this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In verse 29, he is changed from Levi the tax collector to Levi (Matthew) the disciple. Jesus exposes to the Pharisees that his point was to call sinners to repentance. The tradition of table fellowship was quite common among the Pharisees (Green 244). The dinner represents a festive event, depicting Levi s leaving everything. By leaving everything, Levi has repented (Green 246). Detailed Analysis Luke s talents include being an artist and a theologian. He was a master of Greek and can write elegantly in Greek. In his gospel, he uses a larger vocabulary than that of Matthew and Mark (McKenzie 525). The Gospel of Luke was considered historical content that is still referred to Lukan themes today (McKenzie 525). Jesus and his morals are detailed in the gospel. This book is represented by a priestly calf. The calf is fitting because the book starts off with priests and ends with the calf (Just 2). The writer of this gospel was most likely a Gentile Christian. The Gospel of Luke and the Acts of the Apostles were both written by the same author. The evidence comes from the prefaces in both books. Both are addressed to the same person (Theophilus) and both have cross references to one another. Synthesis There are a couple lessons to be learned in this passage. The first is that Jesus reaches out to those who need him the most. Jesus reaches out to Levi in the passage because he needs him the most. The second is the Jesus is trying to recruit the poor ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 8. Comparing Dostoyevsky s Leviathan And The Grand Inquisitor Introduction The books Leviathan by Thomas Hobbes and The Grand Inquisitor by Fyodor Dostoyevsky intensely discuss the two authors one sided views on what they believe the state of nature is about. They question whether human beings are authentic or inauthentic before or without having connections to a political, religious, economic, or social group. In Leviathan, Hobbes writes about his perceptions on the state of nature. He believes the state of nature is characterized by man against man, [M.A. Soupios], where every person looks out for themselves and their well being first. The Sovereign should have the most power and that every man ought to endeavour peace, as far as he has hope of obtaining it; and when he cannot obtain it, that he may seek and use all helps and advantages of war. [p. 190] He strongly believes in control of a higher authority to maintain an ideal state of nature, he believes that man fears and mistrusts every other man in the real world and that there is no such thing as injury or justice, he even goes on to state that it is absurd . Hobbes believes the Law of Nature is that the authority of the sovereign is absolute , in the sense that no authority is above the sovereign and that its will is law. Hobbes says, that every man has a right to every thing; even to one another s body. And therefore, as long as this natural right of every man to every thing endureth, there can be no security to any man. [p.190] In this quote he means that in the state of nature you have no (human) rights of property, self, and everyone else has a right to what you take as yours. This goes alongside Hobbes controlled ideological views of an ideal state. Hobbes discuses the mutual transferring of rights where a social contract subsequently leads man to leave the state of nature, and enter into a contract to transfer the right to thing, exchanges of goods or land and money. He goes against this as he feels that man may become dependent on things, subsequently it will threaten and perhaps collapse the sovereignty because the power of it is compromised and wont be able to protect ... • 10. Birth Control Importance The Importance of Teenage Access to Contraceptives About 77% of all teenage pregnancies are accidental, and of those, 30% end in abortion, the solution preventing the unwanted pregnancies at hand is the guaranteed access to over the counter birth control. Girls avoid contraceptives for many reasons, whether it be prohibiting parents, lack of education, or monetary issues concerning health care. These limitations cumulatively lead to teenage pregnancies, which amount to far greater sacrifice and consequence than the simple ability for a teenage girl to walk into a pharmacy and purchase a pill, or patch of her choice which could prevent a child being brought into this world to unwilling, and incompetent parents. Access to over the counter birth control could solve these problems, and ultimately limit the amount of teenage pregnancies in America. Many parents do not allow their children to take birth control. Ideally biopsies of abdominal subcutaneous tissue and salivary glands should be used for the Congo red staining test, and it is positive if the sample has apple green birefringence in appearance under polarized light. If the sample was inconclusive or negative, then the provider should have the affected organ biopsied to ensure an accurate diagnosis. The reason one should investigate for amyloiddeposits via more invasive biopsy techniques is due to the higher risk of mortality associated with misdiagnosis and delayed or lack of treatment. If renal biopsies are warranted, sufficient amounts of amyloid deposits can be found around the glomerular basement membranes. Urine testing for paraprotein is not specific enough for the diagnosis of AL, for many gammopathies present with this in the urine. Once biopsies are positive, then the amyloid deposits should be tested via immunofluorescence microscopy to obtain valuable information regarding its makeup. Immunohistochemistry can be used as well, but it is not as successful in providing compositional information for AL as immunofluorescence. AL should be differentiated from the other forms of amyloidosis, such as hereditary amyloidosis, inflammatory amyloidosis, and hemodialysis related amyloidosis. Other, more subtle, conflicts in the play are Romeo s feelings for Rosaline as well as Juliet, Romeo thought that Rosaline was a nice girl whom he could love, but she turned out to be shallow and so he is sad, during this time he is questioned by Benvolio, his cousin, something of note here is that Romeo seems to be expressing his thoughts on the conflict between the Montagues and Capulets at one point he says: O ... Disability In The Workplace Essay For this assignment, I decided to assess and identify how a place in the community can enable or hinder participation for people experiencing disability in my workplace, Sportchek east. I was curious to see how my workplace compared to the standards towards helping to enable the experience of someone experiencing a disability. Sportchek is a company that sells athletic wear and sports equipment. At the beginning of this assignment, I thought that Sportchek was, for the most part, accessible. But I was incorrect and naive in my assumption. Facility Exterior Transportation Since Sportchek is attached to a mall, Regina s public transit system does have a stop located on the side of the mall and a stop behind as well. The bus is easy to use and wheelchair accessible, enabling people who experience disability to get around and be able to shop where they like. The city bus is the only form of transportation that is offered by the mall, there is no shuttle bus or van that takes people to this location unless ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 32. Nature And Nurture In In Cold Blood By Perry Smith A debate on whether or not Perry Smith was more controlled by nature and nurture when committing crimes is a hot topic. Most solemnly believe that this is what manipulated the actions that Perry took. According to www.simplypsychology.org, Nature is what we think of as pre wiring and is influenced by genetic inheritance and other biological factors. Nurture is generally taken as the influence of external factors after conception e.g. the product of exposure, experience and learning on an individual. Due to Perry Smith s exposure to abuse, the abandonment emotionally and physically from his family, and influential behavior from Dick, it led him to making extreme actions such as committing murder and other crimes. Capote, in In Cold Blood , helps portray Perry Smith the way those in Holcomb view him while also frequently adding in his personal life throughout the novel, such as him being abused while he was under the care of nuns and those running the shelter. In the novel, Perry goes into detail as to how he was abused, he even said that he remembered it all. At the Catholic orphanage he was abused for wetting the bed constantly, She woke me up. She had a flashlight, and she hit me with it. Hit me and hit me. And when the flashlight broke, she went on hitting me in the dark (p. 58) Then, after his mother died, Perry s father took him but left him in a Salvation Army shelter where he was abused for not only bed wetting but for being half Indian as well, There was ... This section will define and discuss GDP per capita based on the World Bank s 2016 data. Sub Saharan African countries that are currently worked in by chosen NGOs are then categorized as disadvantaged, mid advantaged and advantaged based on GDP per capita. The GDP data of countries that NGOs are funding is important for this research because it contributes to my hypothesis, as I believed that more advantaged and mid advantaged countries were chosen because of the high amount of resources in those countries. it seemed initially that funding and resources were what drove NGOs choices on which countries to... Guinea, Mauritius, South Africa, and Libya are included in the top 100 world rank of GDP per capita. As the climate in African countries have warranted droughts and scarce rainfall, the citizens of the impoverished countries are left to travel miles for clean water whereas those in more affluent neighboring countries do not have to go too far for the things they need (Nilsson Nyanchaga, p.136). Additionally, there is inequality within various African countries as well, as urban populations have access to piped water, whereas rural populations do not. The supply of water is not evenly dispersed nor is it easily accessible due to the lack of resources and low economies. Based on data collected from secondary information, all selected NGOs work with a total of 24 African countries (Chart 1), with GDPs per capita that range from $3.2 million to $1.1 trillion based on the CIA World Factbook 2016 Report. • 37. Wildlife Welfare In Wildlife Welfare in Wildlife For decades in America, a collision between environmental conservation and urbanization has placed natural habitats and wildlife at risk. Today, in regions such as the Rio Grande Valley, 95 percent of native habitat has been negatively affected by or lost to human activities such as water diversions, agriculture, industrialization, and urbanization (USGS 7). This habitat serves as crucial landscape to species that make the R.G.V. their northern and southern most points in migratory and nonmigratory patterns. Unfortunately, environmental concern is often disregarded, resulting in a decrease of wildlife populations that has led to threatened and endangered species. Because of this, greater efforts must be made by conservation organizations to restore and preserve native habitat, thus promoting wildlife welfare. As a conservationist for the U.S Department of Interior, my regards towards wildlife welfare in public and private lands is strongly supported by scientific research, economic impact, and legislature. Current administrative actions, however, have been amongst the most threatening in years for environmental efforts, partly due to administrative disregard for environmental changes and impacts. After the reassignment of department secretaries earlier this year, republicans have introduced more than 60 bills attacking public lands, weakening environmental safeguards on those lands, or turning over their control to states and local governments ... First, many have argued that Thatcherism contributed significantly into economic recovery of Britain after the war. This is mainly visible in its quest to control the rate of inflation which was a success. However, this success has been criticized for the huge level of unemployment it brought with it. The policy also managed to instill competition in the economy which facilitated growth of the economy. This was necessary to salvage the image which was heavily dented on the international scene. With these efforts, the conservative party had managed to win back the trust of its citizens. Thatcherism also brought the theory of monetarism. Through this theory, they discovered that inflation was caused by injecting excess money into the economy by printing money and this situation could be controlled by using the instruments of monetary policy to mop up the excess money supply. However, some economists have argued that the negative impacts of this policy overshadowed its positive contributions hence the system is considered a failure (Harvey 2010, ... • 40. Application And Network Performance For Many Service... 1. Introduction The Domain Name System (DNS) is a major component of the Internet that maps human understandable names to machine level IP addresses. From the past few years, as the Internet are evolved across the regions, more service providers started using DNS in a way which was not meant such cases were used often in content delivery networks (CDNs), NXDOMAIN Remapping and URL auto completion. But the paper mainly focus on the new class of DNS misuse called disposable domains and author found that various service providers, popular search engines, social networks and security companies, started heavily using automatically generated domain names to send one time signal to their servers. These disposable domains are generally created on demand in abundant which belongs to common parent DNS zones. They have unique cache hit rate percent which distinguish them from non disposable domains (Yizheng et al., 2014). These unique ways of using DNS, invents the new useful applications and network performance for many service providers. Hence, claimed that it is important to monitor and analyse the DNS usage from the Internet service providers within ISP network and make sure under what conditions current DNS practices are employed such that there should not be any negative impact on the network infrastructure. In this paper, author and his team design a system that automatically identifies the disposable domains and observes the detailed measurements on how disposable domains are ... Right away he said something that caught my attention and that was that he emphasized that the culture of the business is the key in implementing these programs and without culture a company will not be successful. We found out throughout the presentation that that statement was very true. Six Sigma is a methodology that uses tools to improve an organization. The tools assist in identifying the customer requirements and conducting data analysis. Lean is a methodology that focuses on streamlining a process of eliminating waste. The tools help make the process visible which assists in identifying opportunities to optimize the process flow and reduce time. Of course the slide that had percentages on it caught my eye due to liking numbers and math so much. It was interesting for me to hear him talk about what would happen if 99.9% were acceptable. Herpes simplex virus is one cause of STDs. There are two types of HSV present namely HSV 1 which is often found in the mouth area and HSV 2 found at the genitals. Indirect ELISA was used in order to determine the presence of Herpes simplex among 3 different samples. Indirect ELISA involves two antibodies; the primary antibody which is bound to the antigen and secondary antibody bound to the primary antibody. Results produced by indirect ELISA produces better amplified signal. Results obtained showed that 1 of the 3 samples tested positive for HSV. Indirect ELISA however cannot determine what specific type of HSV is present in the sample. I have chosen Corduroy as my picture book and Because of Winn Dixie as my realistic novel to write on this written critique because it signifies the moral lessons about family importance and friendship. According to Skolnick Skolnick, Family in Transition there are three ways to defined a family. The first definition is people related by blood, marriage, or adoption and ... This show that Lisa is willingly accepts Corduroy with or without the missing button. The word choices are very engaging on every page. It truly allows the children to be imaginative by reading it or just by looking on the illustrations. The mother s reaction when she saw Corduroy missing the button abruptly dismisses him. She directly judges him that he doesn t look new. The statement gives a huge impact of how we view things, people, and how narrow minded we are of so many things. I know I am guilty about this and I need myself to be reminded how to be positive when in the worst situation in our life happened. We should challenge ourselves to do more and to do better act. This would allow us to show a positive outlook in life for the children. It would help the children to learn to handle emotions whether it is bad or good. It could also help us to provide the children some good examples to model ourselves to make them feel that we are all special in every way and that we are all unique. My view, at that moment Corduroy knew deep down that he wants somebody to care for him. That is why he is willing to find his missing button. This makes sense to Corduroy to look around the departments store maybe he could find the missing button on his shoulder strap. My response on this part is that Corduroy portrays curiosity. He wants to be accepted and hoping that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 54. A Historical Fort Clinch . Throughout Florida’S Numerous A Historical Fort Clinch Throughout Florida s numerous fortifications, Fort Clinch is established as a military entity. Designed as a third system fortification, this base of operations was put into operating status for multiple conflicts and wars, serving for more than the Fort s original intentions. Nestled on Florida s northernmost barrier island Fort Clinch sits on the mouth of the St. Mary s river. Having a series of freshwater ponds and acres of woodland, Fort Clinch is surrounded by wildlife and plant life. Whitetail deer can be spotted throughout the state park along with alligators near the freshwater ponds. On the other side of the fort is alluring beaches and waterways. This waterway is the reason for Fort Clinch being in... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Construction of Fort Clinch began in 1847. The fort took the shape of an irregular pentagon having five tower bastions. Each bastion was made of masonry with chambers beneath, in order to store munitions for the artillery that were placed on top of the bastion. The bastions are specifically placed so no matter where an enemy combatant would approach at least two of the bastions could engage in combat operations within their, ROF, range of fire. Multiple foot soldiers would also point their attention towards the opposing front. The original design of the fort was to house 500 soldiers and 78 pieces of artillery. Officers of the Army Corps of Engineers directed a civilian workforce to construct the fort. In 1860, progress was slow and only two thirds of the walls were completed, yet not a single piece of artillery was in place. Rooms that were completed include the guard rooms, prison, lumber sheds, and carpentry shops. Leaving the storehouse and kitchen unfinished, and with the brink of the Civil War upon them, there is still not a single piece of artillery in place. In 1861, the Civil War is underway. As Florida seceded from the Union, Confederate forces take control of Fort Clinch. Instead of completing the buildup process of the fort, Confederate forces establish batteries in Fernandina, Amelia, and Cumberland Island. The Federal s use ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 55. Comparing Johann Liss And Shepherd And Camille Corot s... Johann Liss s Nymph and Shepherd and Camille Corot s Diana and Actaeon (Diana Surprised in Her Bath) evoke themes of female exposure under male surveillance. Both artists interject two male figures in the background of their paintings, one, the shepherd and Actaeon, is named and the other is unknown. Liss personifies danger and protection through his two men while Corot uses them as a narrative device to illustrate several moments in one space. Liss is particularly heedful of the sinister nature he crafts through the vulnerable, exposed, and unsupported nature of the nymph. Corot, on the other hand, creates a scene where the female subjects have a strong leader in Diana and are connected to and supported by their environment. Both artists achieve these differing interpretations by diverging in their use of space, color, and relationships between figures and landscape. Liss and Corot achieve very distinct goals through the two male figures placed in their works, but they both primarily place the men spatially behind the women in positions of surveillance. Liss places the shepherd behind and overlooking the nymph; he is identified as a shepherd because of the crook in his right hand. His profession is significant because it alters how the viewer perceives him. Without this knowledge, he would look threatening because of the dark value of the color of his body and the positioning of his crook above the nymph, perhaps in an attempt to harm her. Despite this, the layperson knows ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Mottley, 211 U.S. 149 (1908) Parties: Louisville and Nashville Railroad Company, Petitioner E.L Mottley and Annie E. Mottley, Defendants Facts: E.L. Mottley and his wife, Annie E. Mottley, (plaintiffs) were passengers on board a train operated by the Louisville and Nashville Railroad Company (defendants). Both the plaintiffs and the defendant are citizens of the state of Kentucky. The plaintiffs, while passengers on board a train, were injured in a train wreck on September 7, 1871. The defendants offered the injured plaintiffs a free pass from the defendant s railroad company in exchange for the agreement that they would not bring suit upon the defendant. The plaintiffs accepted the free passes which would be renewed yearly. Several decades later, in 1906, a law was passed by the U.S. Congress banning free railroad passes. This was passed in order to prevent bribery on government workers and officials. This caused the defendant to refuse the plaintiffs renewal of their free passes in which they then filed suit for specific performance in the Circuit Court for the Western District of Kentucky. ... The plaintiffs stated that the law that was passed by congress did not apply to them because that law was passed decades after they were offered and they accepted the free passes from the defendants. They also argued that if the law passed by congress did apply to them then the law should be considered unconstitutional due to the law depriving the defendants their property without due process of law. The defendant attempted to object the pleadings of the plaintiff in which the judge of the Circuit court overruled and awarded relief to the plaintiffs. The defendants then appealed straight to the United States Supreme ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Comparing The Economic Profiles Of Brazil And France EC4001/AP4001 Macroeconomic Report: Comparing the Economic Profiles of Brazil and France Daniel Williams K1355702 Table of Contents Page 1Summary Page 2Introduction Page 3Macroeconomic Comparisons: GDP Page 4Macroeconomic Comparisons: Activities in Trade Page 5Macroeconomic Comparisons: Living Standards Page 6Macroeconomic Comparisons: Labour Productivity Page 7Conclusion Page 8References Summary France and Brazil have shown to have different economies, but are both significant contributors in the global economy. The two countries are active and of importance to international trade, and although France has more access to the European Markets, Brazil has an opportunity in the international markets. The opportunity comes because Brazil has high interest rates, which investors will probably find attractive. There are differences in the economic profiles of the two countries and also similarities. One of the differences is in the government s role in international affairs, where, the French government plays minimal roles, whereas the Brazilian government plays a significant role in terms of policy making. Because of this the expansionary monetary policy put in place failed to realise the anticipated economic growth. The fiscal policies are also similar; while Brazil has experienced a fiscal restraint, France has followed parts of the EU fiscal stability to achieve economic stability. Despite this the two countries, for the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
