Washing A Car Analysis
Every Sunday morning until the weather drops below freezing and my parents do not let me use the
hose, I wash my car. This may seem like an ordinary job to some, but to me washing a car requires a
distinctive technique. No matter how tired I am, every Sunday morning I wake up, brush my teeth, put
on my blue sweatpants and red sweatshirt, grab the keys to the car, and head out into the driveway.
Not even the puppy follows me outside; he likes to sleep till eleven o clock on Sundays. I pull the car
out into the driveway and position it just right so that the morning sun is blocked by the thick leaves
and branches of the tall maple, and so I can easily walk around the back end. I then attach the longest
hose I can find in the basement of my house

Reflection On My Math Class
Since starting this class, I feel as though my background knowledge of math would have been enough
for me to feel comfortable in the classroom but, because of the readings and in class tasks with my
peers I ve become more knowledgeable on many terms and practices of math.
It is clear that within the classroom of my peers we all complete a math problem differently. Some
students answer questions the completely different way than I do but, we get the same answers. For
example, when we were asked to add simple math numbers, two of the four of us thought the same
way. While to other people found different ways to get the answer. Amongst the four of us there were
three different ways to solve one simple addition question. This small task opened my mind
completely. I can see that was in my group of four people, there were three strategies to answer one
question. I can only imagine a number of ways a class of 30 students comes up with. This will
enhance my understanding as a teacher because I know that every student does not think the same and
there is more than one right way to solve a question. This class has also shown me that using
manipulatives is one of the best tools to enhance the students understanding. Using manipulatives will
not only help the students, but it will help me as a teacher to understand the student s steps in solving
questions. The best example in class was when my group was given coloured bears and asked to show
1 as many ways as possible. We decided to

Theories Of The Administrative Management Theory
According tot the Administrative Management Theory, management is the process of getting certain
tasks completed through the use of people. In this theory developed by Henri Fayol, he believes that it
was very important to have the use of a multiplied of people instead of just relying on one person
alone. Henri Fayol is known today as the Father of Modern Management , his theory has shaped what
is know today as the Administrative Model, which relies on Fayols fourteen principles of
management. These principles have been a significant influence on modern management; they have
helped early 20th century manager learn how to organize and interact with their employees in a
productive way. Fayols principles of management were the ground work in which his theory was
formed. He believed highly in the division of work throughout a project and within the project he
believed that the task at hand had to be done with a certain level of discipline in order for the division
of work to be able to run smoothly without error. Thusly he was a firm believer that in order for the
management to work there must be a certain degree of authority given to one person who would be
capable of the responsibility of the task at hand and this person must also be fair but firm so that order
could be maintained at all times to reduce the risk of the breakdown of the simple principles of the
management system. He believed that every employee should receive orders from only one person

President Ulysses S. Grant Signed A Law Making Yellowstone...
Aliesha Seamons Mrs.Miller English 12A 15 September, 2016 On March 1, 1872, President Ulysses
S. Grant signed a law making Yellowstone National Park out of 3,468 square miles of land in
Wyoming, Idaho and Montana. The people of the United States wanted to preserve the land to let
future generations see the shooting geysers, bubbling hot pots, forests full of towering lodgepole
pines, sparkling lakes, and magnificent views of the stars at night. Of course, the land supported
unique animals such as bison, bald eagles, elk, grizzly bears, and wolves. However within the first 50
years of being open, the wolves were hunted to extinction. They were gone from the park for over 70
years. At that time, scientists and forest rangers realized that the absence of wolves causing problems
in the ecosystem; the elk population had grown out of control. Therefore, in 1995 the Fish and Game
Department reintroduced wolves, which has benefited the Yellowstone ecosystem in many ways.
However, the farmer and ranchers feel negatively about the reintroduction, feeling that wolves do
nothing other than wreak havoc on livestock and pose a dangerous threat to those visiting the park.
The wolves appear as a threat to the ecosystem of Yellowstone National Park, however they play a
vital role and keep the ecosystem balance. Today s culture encourages children to be scared of wolves.

The Modern Culture Of Chippewa Today
Though Native Americans are today seen as regular members of society and treated as such, and even
are given certain special treatments (such as federally recognized tribes being seen as domestic
dependant nations and allowing for them to have their own set of laws), there can be no argument
when it is said that, in the past, they were treated terribly. In fact, when European settlers came, their
clash with the natives resulted in mass genocide. The Chippewa lived mainly in the American midwest
(including Michigan) and in Ontario, a Canadian province. I use the term lived here because, despite
the Chippewa being alive and well, they are more spread out now due to the advantages of modern
technology. The modern culture of Chippewa today is vastly different from original Chippewa, as well
(Friedl, pgs 814 815). Food for them could range from rabbit or deer or even bears (Copway, George,
Hulan, Shelley, pgs 26 and 28) to corn and wild rice (Friedl, pg 816). According to Friedl s data,
Chippewas generally expect their circumstances to be constantly changing. For example, indigenous
Chippewas left a lot of things to chance. As stated previously, they planted corn, but they did not tend
to it (Friedl, pg 816). They collected wild rice when it was available, as well as nuts and berries when
they were in season. They also heavily relied on dreams to lead them in the right direction (Friedl,
816). If they dreamed they would prosper elsewhere, they would leave. If they dreamed of

Streaming Media and Netflix
Netflix is an American company that provides video rental and on demand video streaming by way of
either the mail or streaming through the internet. The company was founded in 1997 in Silicon Valley
California by Marc Randolph and Reed Hastings. The idea for this DVD rental service came about
when Reed Hastings was charged with a late fee when renting a movie and he questioned why he
should have a time restriction on how long he is able to rent the movie. In April of 1998, the Netflix
website was launched and they developed the concept of unlimited rentals with no shipping fees or
late fees. In September of 2002, an article in The New York Times article stated that Netflix had
around almost 670,000 subscribers. At the end of 2002, the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Instead, three weeks later, an announcement was made that Netflix had changed their mind. They
decided to go back on what they said and decided they were going to keep all their services under the
one same name that everyone was already familiar with after all. Steve Swasey, a representative for
the company was quoted saying, We underestimated the appeal of the single Web site and a single
service. This ended the creation of the idea of Qwikster but because of the confusing almost name
change that was soon reversed and the raised prices they lost close to 800,000 fewer subscribers. This
number of lost customers came to a shock to almost everyone. This was the first significant decline
the company experienced and is a clear example of a company making a decision without considering
the public s interest and opinions causing a significant have an impact on their profits. Netflix is just
one example of the impact of technology on American family life. Subscribers to Netflix can now
video stream movies to their computers and television with one click. This shifts consumers from
looking outside the home for entertainment to becoming more insular in their hobbies. A recent article
in the New York times cited how the former digital divide is closing and more poor American families
are wired to use technology. This means that these families like the more affluent ones are spending

Video Games Have A Huge Part Of Society
From Pac Man to Call of Duty, video games have been a huge part of society. People will line up
hours before a midnight launch of a video game just so they can play it the night it gets released.
Video games aren t just a hobby they are a passion. People get immersed in fantasy worlds playing
Call of Duty or being a dragon slayer in dragon age or Elder Scrolls. Video games are about
accomplishment and competiveness. Xbox and PlayStation have built an empire on video games and
consoles because our society fell in love with them dating way back to the arcade Pac Man and
Donkey Kong days. Video game sales ($25 billion in 2011) continue to be the No. 1 form of
discretionary entertainment, outshining both movies and music (USA,News 2015). Video games are
obviously nothing without the consoles you play them on. PlayStation and Xbox are the biggest
competitors in the video game market. The new consoles are virtually the same with a few small
differences. The difference between buying an Xbox one or a PlayStation 4 is mostly your history of
buying. Most PlayStation users have always had PlayStations and most Xbox users have always had
Xbox s. For a huge number of our society, playing video games is a lifestyle.
History In 1967 Ralph Baer invented the first video game that worked on a television screen. The
video game was a very simple game, consisting of two squares that chase each other on the screen.
However, this simple game paved the way for future video games and future

Art of Near East Royalties
Many people speculate on ancient artifacts with an eye towards its aesthetic value of contemporary
etic perspective. While most people are not professional anthropologists who would try to be an
anachronistic spectators of a so called unknown ancient society , the interesting historical and cultural
aspects are embedded within every art piece throughout the ancient world. The ancient near east
nations were characteristic in their own values just like any contemporary society, and they are worth
the discussion through various aspects such as cultural, ideological, and historical.
The first art piece called Ashurnasirpal II and a Winged Deity, discovered in Northern Iraq, Nimrud, in
9th century BC opens our exhibition of ancient near east art. The presence of many contents such as
artistic canon, hierarchy of scale and composite view is most correspondent to the characteristics of
Old Kingdom period of Egyptian art. The subject depicted in the panel is king Ashurnasirpal II on the
left and the winged deity, god Ashur. In addition to details, hierarchy of scale is used for clarification;
both king and the winged deity fully occupies the entire panel in absence of background features, and
the deity is shown to be slightly taller than king Ashurnasirpal ii, to clarify its identity. The hair, wings
and clothes in both subjects are very much stylized, not very naturalistic, with circular spots

Jimi Hendrix Essay Influence
James Marshall Jimi Hendrix
I chose to write about Jimi Hendrix because I think he was a very talented musician, who made great
influence on today s music.
Johnny Allen Hendrix was born November 27th, 1942 and died the 18th of September 1970. He was
later named James Marshall Hendrix in 1946. Hendrix was a singer, guitarist and songwriter. He was
probably one of the biggest, most influential guitarists in the world. A lot of today s pop and rock artist
says that they are more or less inspired by Jimi Hendrix music. He is often described as one of the
greatest instrumentalist in the history of rock music .
He started playing guitar in Seattle, Washington in 1969 when he was only 15 years old. He later
moved to England in 1966. In a short ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He was criticized for preforming white music and having white band members.
Narcotics
Hendrix used a lot of drugs, mostly LSD, weed and sleeping pills. This bad habit is most likely what
led to his early death, especially the sleeping pills.
Jimi Hendrix influences on music
He was most likely one of the greatest rock artists ever. Even though he had a short career that only
lasted about four years. He shocked the music world with his playing style and rhythms, his opening
on the song Purple haze in particular.
When Hendrix music became more and more important in American rock, people didn t think about
black music as a synonym to soul and blues anymore. He changed the way black music had sounded
like forever. While creating the extraordinary playing style he had, Hendrix made the groundwork for
what later evolved to different genres, for example R B, British rock, blues and soul. Hendrix isn t
remembered as the first black rock star. He s remembered as the first rock star .
He explored new style and techniques, which helped him lay the foundation for several music genres.
He liked to push boundaries just to create the perfect

Except For Those Of Us Who Are Above It By Herb Block
History classes have always been a requirement for high school students to graduate. Some of these
classes include United States history, Government, and World History. Although, there is a lack of any
classes dealing with local history. State history alone only receives attention in the elementary school
system and about a week in Government class. All school systems should include, in the required
classes to take to receive a high school diploma, a local history class, so that the students may have a
knowledge of the place where they live. Although, a more underlining issue behind local history needs
to be answered first. In the general world of history, local history is too often in the hands of ...

They should rather figure out their own history and help out the poor amateurs trying their best to put
the puzzle together. Furthermore, local history in general needs to be cared about more. Like said
before, the top level of prestige among historians is occupied by those who teach African or Asian
history (Hicken 1). This prestige is also portrayed very well by Herb Block s political cartoon Except
for Those of Us Who Are above It. Which, displays bureaucrats sitting on top of Washington above
everyone else, with a caption Equal Justice Under Law. Which, shows that those of more important
roles consider themselves better than the lower rules. All together, this shows that after people spend
countless years in school and in the work force being a historian, they are studying the histories
abroad and of more accomplishment, rather than their own with facts that have no meaning. Although,
even major historians have hypocritically given themselves over to the study of some phase of history
which, in the long run, amounted to only a minor aspect of a larger problem (Hicken 1). Yet, they
ridicule local history and those who research it. These issues amongst historians are the major
underlying issues when proposing the concept of a local history class. Now, looking at local history in
a more positive light; it has an impression on the current environments people are surrounded with.

Symbolism In Peace Like A River

was in conflict with his faith in God due to his lost and the miracles he performed. Most evidently
shown in The Curious Music That I Hear, is ... I breathe deeply, and the certainty enters into me like a
light, like a piece of science, and curious music seems to hum inside my fingers. (311). This is
referring to The Land of Nod, a poem written by Robert Louis Stevenson. It talks of a child falling

when he last touched his father, Jeremiah, and how Reuben could not join Jeremiah in Heaven. It was

Characteristic of Snowball
Animal Farm is an allegorical book which was written by George Orwell. In this book the author
represents the important characters of the Russian Revolution. There are many characters in this book.
A pig named Snowball is one of them who is based on Leon Trotsky. Leon Trotsky was an early leader
in communism (ANIMAL FARM). He had control of the Soviet Union. He followed Karl Marx

Trotsky was the leader of Red Army . He won the Russian Civil War and became the second leader of
the country. After the war, Snowball and Trotsky became an important leader to the society. Snowball
is a good thinker about happiness of the animal s life. He wants to improve the all animals life. That`s
why he follows seven commandments of old Major. His thought about importance of education of
every animal was very helpful for them. He considered education is important for every animal. If
every animal will be educating they will understand what are good for them and what are bad? As he
is already literate at that time he tried educate all animal. As a result, all of animal on the farm was
literate in some degree. He also thinks about freedom. When Mollie asked question to Snowball about

I mentally started to freak out, and i looked for an exit route, there was only one other one besides
going down the hill: this hill was connected to the smaller hill. I told my dad I m going to go to the
other hill. He gave me a stern look, and he went down the hill alone. I noticed i might crash if I sled
down to the slope shortcut to the other hill, so I took off the base of my skis and left the boot
attachments on my boots. One small step at a time, I slowly climbed down the shortcut. It was so
irritating and annoying I wondered if this was the best alternative rather than risking it and going
down the hill. When I finally got down the hill I thoroughly decided to stick with that one hill. So I
kept on enjoying the fast but not fastest speed. Lunch came and I went inside the center and got a bite
to eat. Isaac got pizza, and I got some aswell. The pizza didn t taste that good, and I could tell it was
very cheaply made, and I questioned why one slice was SO expensive. After we ate lunch and became
reorganized, I went back to the hills and went down them a few more times. But then, the accident
happened. As I was being hoisted up by the pulley machine everything seemed normal, but when i got
to the top of the hill, I noticed I was slipping as I let go of the pulley. I tried to keep my balance, but
that only made it worse, the base of my skis interlocked. The head of one ski clasped onto the back of
my other ski, twisting my foot backwards in a frightening and unnatural position. The pain was
immense and very sharp. I quickly looked at what caused the pain and I saw it. I panicked, and
because of the intense pain, I screamed for my dad, who was a couple feet away from me, saw what
was wrong, because I usually don t scream in pain like that. In a few seconds, he saw the problem and

Abstract
The objective of the current study was to examine the relationship among stress, adjustment and
homesickness among University students. Total 100 subjects (N =100, 47 Males, 53 Females)
participated in the current study from Lovely Professional University, Punjab. The age of the subjects
ranged from 18 to 25 years with a mean age of 20.83 years. The tools for data collection were
Perceived Stress Scale and College Adjustment Test in the present study. The statistics Pearson s
Product Moment Correlation and Independent samples t test were used to find out the relationships
and gender differences among the variables, respectively. The results indicated a negative relationship
between stress and adjustment (r = .299, p .001) and homesickness and adjustment (r = .590, p .001).
A positive relationship was also observed between stress and homesickness (r = .265, p .01). The
findings provide an evidence for the negative role of stress and homesickness in adjustment in young
adults. Further, the results also indicated no gender differences among stress, adjustment and
homesickness being all t ratios below the level of .05 level of probability. The findings favor the
notion that in modern times both the genders experience stress and homesickness equally and their

Chopping wood, it seems like a task that is unnecessary in the modern world. Have you ever chopped
wood? Have you ever held an axe in your hands and then with all your might, hammer down on a
piece of wood with the hopes it will split right in half? Imagine a three foot axe in hand and your only
task is to split the maple log in front of you. All around you are trees and the other logs and pieces of
wood you have gathered to either process or store for later use as fuel, but how much is enough fuel?
Reginald Gibbons uses graphic imagery, and imaginative metaphors in his poem, Wood , to illustrate
the difficult task of chopping wood through a not very obvious first person perspective, but upon
further inspection, the poem uses imagery to establish the setting and also explores the different
thoughts the unnamed character has. Right away, I noticed the large amount of imagery that was used
in this poem A cylinder of maple / set in place, feet spread apart / and the heavy maul, fat as a hammer
( Wood 1 3). The first paragraph gives an accurate depiction of the action and visuals of what it is like
to be outside on a cold day to split wood. Gibbons uses a heavy amount of imagery, mainly sight, in
this poem. Each stanza has some form of imagery within it. The choice of words and style he decided
to use puts a very weighty and, at one point, even put a darker mood over the poem. Right away, he
describes the process of splitting wood; this sets up the setting

Drinking Mammal Milk
Introduction Due to the well known health issues that are associated with drinking mammal milk,
which includes lactose intolerance, a multitude of substitutions for milk containing lactose have been
promoted to lactose intolerant individuals. Lactase is an enzyme that catalyzes the reaction of lactose
hydrolyzing into glucose and galactose, which allows it to be digested. Humans naturally produce this
enzyme, however, for some this production ceases as they age. Given that humans cannot digest
lactose if it is not properly broken down, many intestinal issues can occur, such as bloating,
constipation, and diarrhea. There are many alternatives to animal milk for individuals who have an
insufficient quantity of lactase, such as rice, almond, and lactose free milk. These alternative milks are
essential given that more than 70% of the world s population are lactose intolerant, which varies by
race and age (Monakhova, et al, 2011). Our hypothesis was that if lactose is present in mammals, then
more glucose will show up in mammal milk at gastric acid pH because the enzyme, lactase, will have
more lactose to catalyze at the intestinal pH where the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It could be concluded that lactose free milk is highly saturated with glucose, giving it a sweet taste and
resulting in a constant glucose level at both pH s. However, rice milk s sweetness derives from the
high concentration of brown rice present; the initial concentration of glucose would be higher than the
measurements at pH 4 and pH 1.2 due to the fact that the low pH protonated the carbohydrates
present, possibly affecting the structure and lessening the glucose present through denature. The
almond milk was not sweetened with glucose at all, resulting in zero glucose as shown in Figure 2; the
added pH and enzyme displayed no

Witch Craft Trials Research Paper
There has been a plethora of research conducted that supports the notion that witch craft trials
occurred in Scotland primarily during the 16th and 17th centuries in England and Scotland and had an
impact on the way people chose to live their lives during this time period. Witches were seen as people
who had turned their backs on God and Christianity and entered a pact with the Devil. Due to this
belief, people were quick to prosecute potentially witches to keep the community safe. Furthermore,
there were many different elements of life that had an impact on witch craft trials and their outcomes,
such as the state/national government, local officials and arguably most importantly, the church.
Specifically during the Civil War we saw an increase ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In order to be tried as a witch, someone who believed themselves to be victimized would come
forward to the authorities. However, before a witch received a formal trial by a criminal court she was
generally identified by a kirk session. Being involved in the first stage of witchcraft trials allowed the
church to help identify witches and begin the interrogation process. In order for an individual to be
tried by a criminal court the church had to seek the approval of the Privy council. Cases with an
abundance of evidence were more likely to have a trial this is still the case today in court cases. If the
court believes there is a high success rate that the accused will be convicted they are more inclined to
bring the issue to court. In addition, the best piece of evidence in the 17th century and today is a
confession. Unfortunately during witchcraft trials confessions were frequently acquired by illegitimate
and morally reprehensible ways. As stated by Goodare ... [the witch] had often been arrested and
interrogated (typically with deprivation of sleep) to obtain a

Biodiesel As A Vehicle Fuel Source
Biodiesel as a vehicle fuel source is the way of the future for America, because it gives citizens
freedom. Biodiesel is a fuel similar to diesel derived from a plant source, like corn, used vegetable oil,
or even algae. This biofuel is created from renewable resources to replace the low source of fossil
fuels that is unfortunately nonrenewable. American society was basically coerced into finding a
substitute for depleting fossil fuel reserves. Rising conflict between the United States (U.S.) and Third
World Countries has caused the prices of crude oil to go up. Due to these situations society had to
come up with a cheaper, renewable source of fuel. Biodiesel is the key to releasing the chains of
restraint that have been placed upon citizens by those third world countries. Scientists can take crops,
oil, or pond scum to make a biodiesel that will help save the environment and economy. Biodiesel fuel
is the key to less price restrictions, as well as society s future and fresh air. Biodiesel will also help
with the noise pollution because industries will be using less of the oil well boom to extract the crude
oil from the ground. Another bonus is that there would be less fracking meaning less harmful
chemicals and natural gas getting into people s water supply. This also means that there would be less
flammable water coming out of a household faucet. When companies frack, they use water with a
thickening agent of some kind to help create pressure for drilling. The pressure

Official Language
The United States is built up of different ethnic groups such as Latinos, Asians, African Americans,
Native Americans, etc. People from these groups speak different languages. In the U.S. majority of the
people speak English; one might think that English is the official language, but the U.S. does not have
an official language. Some might have a problem with this idea. In Why the U.S. Needs an Official
Language by Mauro E. Mujica, he argues that America needs to adopt English as its language. He
states many factors on why the U.S. needs an official language are because it costs too much if people
do learn it and he believes the U.S. is losing its sense of unity. I disagree with Mujica, I do not believe
the U.S. needs an official language

The Dichotomy Of Abortion
The dichotomy of the caretaker and the receiver is personified by the relationship between the mother
and her child. The mother is the sole provider for the health of the unborn for nine months and the
child has no sentience in which to exercise any desires. This places the child in a role that is virtually
parasitic and the mother in a situation that obligates her to undergo physiological and psychological
turmoil. Then is the mother then obligated to care for the organism that is growing within her or is she
allowed the decision to dispose of the fetus within her? Initially it would seem that the mother is
certainly obligated to care for the child as it was a byproduct from her actions and it is a life. Yet, the
fetus is unable of exercising any degree of care toward the mother. Should the mother care for an
organism that cannot exercise any care for her and is totally helpless throughout the initial years of its
life? Care ethics dictates that she has an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One such factor is the socioeconomic status of the individual and the ramifications that a child holds.
It is certainly no secret that having a child has some negative aspects. The primary concern that I am
speaking of is monetary. Individuals that are in threatened socioeconomic situations at the time that a
child is conceived will often be unable to fiscally support a child. This is merely the initial thrust of
the issue however. The process of getting an abortion is often unreachable to women that are in
poverty or near the poverty line. The woman is living paycheck to paycheck and is unable to miss
work or she will be unable to purchase the things necessary for her to survive. In some instances the
woman might even lose her job and not receive the abortion procedure, merely exacerbating the
situation. In this situation the poverty that the woman lives in merely begets more

Biography Of Elvis Presley
About 70 years ago, Elvis Presley roamed the world. At age 13, his hair was dark brown like some
people s eyes, and his eyes were green like fresh grass being watered. He was regular height, 5 1 with
no tattoos, but is planning on getting them all over his arms. His favorite outfit was black pants with a
black or green t shirt or once in a while, a fancy long sleeve shirt. One really good thing about him is
that he sang really well. He worked at a little food truck that when you come up to it, it smells like
melted cheese and toasted bread. He also took singing lessons with his dad. He was always conceited
and would think he s the best, but he was very caring. Him and his dad had a quote they used to tell

Gender Stereotypes In Pretty Little Liars
Spencer Hastings, played by Troian Bellisario in Pretty Little Liars, once said, Giving into a bully
never works. Even if you give them everything they ask for, it ll never be enough. Your only choice is
to stand up to them, even if it costs you something (Pretty Little Liars 2015). This is one of the many
life lessons that can be learned from this show. Pretty Little Liars became a very popular television
series among teenage girls when it was released on June 8th, 2010. It is produced by Warner Brother s
Studios and directed by Marlene King. An abundance of publicity on social media has helped this
show become very well known across America. While watching Pretty Little Liars, I focused on the

Line matches the characters personalities and interests with their style. Alison is often seen wearing
very sophisticated, mature clothing. She tends to keep it interesting with prints, ruffles, and a more
retro style. The most unique style is worn by Aria. She is usually wearing funky and edgy clothing
with chunky heels, leather jackets, and statement jewelry. Line matched Spencer s style with her
personality very well by giving her a preppy and conservative look with blazers, blouses, and
cardigans. The girly girl out of the bunch could almost always be identified as Hanna due to her
abundance of feminine, bright, and glamorous fashion. Unlike any of the other girls, Emily wore a
sportier look. She was often dressed in t shirts, jeans, and sneakers. The day to day clothing on Pretty
Little Liars was always on point, but the most extravagant clothing was worn for big events. Some of
these events included prom, Halloween, balls, and fashion shows for charity. Line outdid herself by
putting the characters in upscale dresses, accessories, and shoes. The fashion in Pretty Little Liars
gave the show a special element that kept teenage girls engaged.
This series has a genre of suspense, drama, mystery, and romance. Pretty Little Liars was perfect for
teenage girls because they tend to gawk about televisions shows that contain even one of these genres.

The primary objective of this research is to examine the transfer effect of the celebrity endorsements
on the attitude towards advertisements, brand and its sales.
1.1 Background of the Study
Consumers want to be reassured that the decision of buying a specific brand is sensible and would pay
off while consuming the product/brand. Most of the times advertising helps consumers come out of
the state of cognitive dissonance and satisfy with their decision of buying a particular brand. Celebrity
endorsements can help consumers achieve this state of satisfaction. Celebrity endorsements have long
been used to convince consumers to buy products. It s an effective method of creating value,
recognition and credibility for a brand

Film Analysis Of Vivian
In the film, Wit, Starring Emma Thompson, Christopher Lloyd, Eileen Atkins, Audra McDonald,
Jonathan M. Woodward, Harold Pinter directed by Mike Nichols we initially begin the film with a
scene where Dr. Harvey Kelekian diagnoses Professor Bearing, also known as Vivian, that ultimately
sets up the tone for the rest of the film. With only knowing some logistics of the film to begin we may
think that the film will come to tell a story of survival, rather, the movie comes to deconstruct the idea
the typical tale of staying strong through cancer treatment, overcoming the odds, and surviving. The
screenplay and the director otherwise allude to the fact that the main theme or message trying to get
across is the significance trying to reconstruct the individual, Vivian, yet not through any sort of
chemotherapy, harsh cancer treatment, or any sort of physical treatment to the body. The manner that
the film portrays a story of reconstruction is through the acceptance of one self s debilities and
weaknesses, exposing oneself and their vulnerabilities and ultimately letting go of your control of
those vulnerabilities in the process. Overall, the character is healed in such way of their internal soul,
but still hinder the devastating diagnosis of cancer. With research on Vivian full on its way, we begin
to see clearly how the spirit of Vivian diminishes. The physicians ask her how are you feeling today?
so often that it becomes that it loses all meaning, and she remarks that she s a

Maintaining A Safe Working Environment
Keep Safe We spend more time working that we do with our families. Therefore, it is important to
make friendships, feeling like part of the work family and to have a have a safe work environment.
When an employee is able to do all of these, they will be happy and productive which will help make
the company more successful. There are five steps used when creating a safe work environment.
These are respect the wall, honor others, suspend judgment, value differences and be trustworthy
(Smalley, 2007). This paper will discuss how a coach can create a safe working environment leading
to healthy relationships in the work environment.
Respect the Wall
Respect wall is actually termed the relationship wall and is the first step in creating a safe environment
(Smalley, 2007). When you meet a person for the first time there is usually some guarding of feelings,
emotions and character from the other party. This is done to create a space because the other person
does not know you, nor do they trust you yet. This happens to a new employee when they start a new
job or position. They feel very uncomfortable and out of place in the new surroundings. This is the
perfect opportunit for a company to assign a coach. The coach can do several things to make them feel
like part of the team. These include mentoring, showing them around, introducing them to other
employees, helping with paperwork and discussing them their new responsibilities. However, a coach
can not come in with a

Jane Austen s A Light Hearted And Simplistic View Of...
Jane Austen presents a light hearted and simplistic view of society through the ordinary lives in
Emma. Every character is linked and connected to the location of Highbury in some way. The limited
social and geographical range does pose weaknesses in this active yet reserved village. Austen s
recognition of flaws behind gossip, marriage and social status, provide readers delight and a sense of
identification. Emma successfully stimulates awareness to the effects of isolation, and generates
appreciation for our own social privileges and position. Austen creates a dynamic community through
the way characters engage and behave against traditional and established conventions. Highbury s
isolation from the rest of England suggests boredom and loneliness will simultaneously follow.
Conversely, this lays the foundation for future drama and conflict to follow. One large source of gossip
is stirred by the letter written from mysterious Frank Churchill to Mrs Weston. Such communication
between Highbury and the outside makes this matter significant as Frank threatens the harmony and
social order of Highbury. As a result every morning visit in Highbury included some mention of the
handsome letter . The ability to listen and retell, is necessary for Emma s community in order to avoid
the dull seclusion. Mrs Elton is another cause for trivial issues, who tries to raise her social status level
to that of Emma. Her snobbery is emphasised in Emma s thoughts when described as a person

Social Deviance In Society
We all hear and talk about social deviance, but not all of us think what does social deviance mean and
how it happens among the societies where we live. In the news is always brought up as an issue that
disturbs the structure in communities that we built. Societies always see social deviance as a negative
phenomen that has been living among us for decades. How do we get a rid of it and make our
communities better? We all may know the answer and yet, we do not do anything about it. Social
deviance is a term used to define behaviors of individuals that are not aligned with everybody s
behaviors in the communities we live in. Individuals in power have set standards on how to behave,
act and think in terms of social structure. This diagram is supposed to keep our communities running
under control and order. If all of us were born in a free land, how is it possible to restrain ourselves in
the square foot of a shelf? One factor that leads to social deviance is social disorganization in the
communities of our neighborhoods. Referring to the Code of Street in Cultural Deviance Theory, it is
claimed that deviance behavior is learned from those around us or the environment that we grow up.
All neighborhoods in New York City are different. The deviance behavior takes a different trait in
each one of those neighborhoods. The Code of Street describes a phenomena such as collective
efficacy, which it means shared beliefs and expectations of individuals in the society are

The most commonly used reconstructive techniques after proximal humeral resection include
osteoarticular allografts , allograft or autograft prosthesis composites.(7)
Risks vary dependent on the choice of reconstruction. Biological reconstruction can be complicated by
fracture, infection, and subchondral collapse, leading to implant revision or removal. Difficulties with
endoprosthetic reconstruction involve consequences of surgical resection of deltoid and rotator cuff.
These include proximal subluxation, instability, and a reduction in functional range of motion .

Grignard Is The Child Of A Sail Producer Essay
Introduction:
Grignard was the child of a sail producer. In the wake of concentrating on arithmetic at Lyon he
exchanged to science and found the manufactured response bearing his name (the Grignard response)
in 1900. He turned into an educator at the University of Nancy in 1910 and was granted the Nobel
Prize in Chemistry in 1912. Amid World War I, he studied chemical warfare agents, especially the
produce of phosgene and the identification of mustard gas. His partner on the German side was
another Nobel Prize winning chemist, Fritz Haber. (2) The Grignard reagent is exceptionally
responsive and responds with most natural mixes. It likewise responds with water, carbon dioxide and
oxygen. (2) Grignard reagents are set up by the response of magnesium metal with fitting alkyl halide
in ether dissolvable. The halogen might be Cl, Br, or I. A standout amongst the most imperative
employments of the Grignard Reagent is the response with aldehydes and ketones to frame liquor. A
related blend utilizes ethylene oxide to plan alcohols containing two more carbon molecules than that
of the alkyl halide. (2)
Grignard is most noted for creating another procedure for delivering carbon carbon bonds utilizing
magnesium to couple ketones and alkyl halides.

Banning smoking in all public indoor areas has been a controversial topic in recent years. Opinions on
the issue are divided. Some members of the society have been expressing their resentment towards the
ban, while some insist that such a ban is of practical necessity. In fact, a total ban on smoking in all
public indoor areas should have been imposed a long time ago.
Those criticizing the ban claim that smoking poses no immediate danger to people nearby. However,
as we all know, this is far from true. Medical evidence proving the link between smoking and many
fatal diseases is readily available. Smokers, as well as passive smokers, are vulnerable to heart attacks,
strokes and cancers. Many members of the society have lost their ... Show more content on

Business owners of catering industries and entertainment venues express their concerns that such a
ban would unavoidably discourage smokers from patronizing and they claim they should be exempted
from the ban. However, the argument they make is groundless. If there is a universal ban in all public
places with no exception, there will be little effect on those businesses as long as smokers still have to
dine out and still have to relax themselves in bars, karaokes or discos. It is simply ridiculous to assume
that all smokers will stop going to these places! Moreover, the ban should be imposed on all public
indoor places with no exceptions. Non smokers are everywhere! Why should we ignore the non
smoker in any place? The health of non smoker in all places should by no means be neglected.
Smokers also insist that it is their freedom to smoke and it is nobody business once they are willing to
take the risks of smoking. True, they have the freedom to sacrifice their precious lives in exchange for
the short term enjoyment smoking gives them, but it is only when they do so privately, i.e. at home!
While smokers claim that they have the right to smoke, we must recognize that non smokers also have
their freedom to enjoy fresh air. Isn t it egotistic to assume that the health of non smokers should be
expended for protecting the right of smokers to smoke simply for their selfish wish for enjoyment? Isn

  • 2. Washing A Car Analysis Every Sunday morning until the weather drops below freezing and my parents do not let me use the hose, I wash my car. This may seem like an ordinary job to some, but to me washing a car requires a distinctive technique. No matter how tired I am, every Sunday morning I wake up, brush my teeth, put on my blue sweatpants and red sweatshirt, grab the keys to the car, and head out into the driveway. Not even the puppy follows me outside; he likes to sleep till eleven o clock on Sundays. I pull the car out into the driveway and position it just right so that the morning sun is blocked by the thick leaves and branches of the tall maple, and so I can easily walk around the back end. I then attach the longest hose I can find in the basement of my house ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Reflection On My Math Class Since starting this class, I feel as though my background knowledge of math would have been enough for me to feel comfortable in the classroom but, because of the readings and in class tasks with my peers I ve become more knowledgeable on many terms and practices of math. It is clear that within the classroom of my peers we all complete a math problem differently. Some students answer questions the completely different way than I do but, we get the same answers. For example, when we were asked to add simple math numbers, two of the four of us thought the same way. While to other people found different ways to get the answer. Amongst the four of us there were three different ways to solve one simple addition question. This small task opened my mind completely. I can see that was in my group of four people, there were three strategies to answer one question. I can only imagine a number of ways a class of 30 students comes up with. This will enhance my understanding as a teacher because I know that every student does not think the same and there is more than one right way to solve a question. This class has also shown me that using manipulatives is one of the best tools to enhance the students understanding. Using manipulatives will not only help the students, but it will help me as a teacher to understand the student s steps in solving questions. The best example in class was when my group was given coloured bears and asked to show 1 as many ways as possible. We decided to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Theories Of The Administrative Management Theory According tot the Administrative Management Theory, management is the process of getting certain tasks completed through the use of people. In this theory developed by Henri Fayol, he believes that it was very important to have the use of a multiplied of people instead of just relying on one person alone. Henri Fayol is known today as the Father of Modern Management , his theory has shaped what is know today as the Administrative Model, which relies on Fayols fourteen principles of management. These principles have been a significant influence on modern management; they have helped early 20th century manager learn how to organize and interact with their employees in a productive way. Fayols principles of management were the ground work in which his theory was formed. He believed highly in the division of work throughout a project and within the project he believed that the task at hand had to be done with a certain level of discipline in order for the division of work to be able to run smoothly without error. Thusly he was a firm believer that in order for the management to work there must be a certain degree of authority given to one person who would be capable of the responsibility of the task at hand and this person must also be fair but firm so that order could be maintained at all times to reduce the risk of the breakdown of the simple principles of the management system. He believed that every employee should receive orders from only one person higher up on the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. President Ulysses S. Grant Signed A Law Making Yellowstone... Aliesha Seamons Mrs.Miller English 12A 15 September, 2016 On March 1, 1872, President Ulysses S. Grant signed a law making Yellowstone National Park out of 3,468 square miles of land in Wyoming, Idaho and Montana. The people of the United States wanted to preserve the land to let future generations see the shooting geysers, bubbling hot pots, forests full of towering lodgepole pines, sparkling lakes, and magnificent views of the stars at night. Of course, the land supported unique animals such as bison, bald eagles, elk, grizzly bears, and wolves. However within the first 50 years of being open, the wolves were hunted to extinction. They were gone from the park for over 70 years. At that time, scientists and forest rangers realized that the absence of wolves causing problems in the ecosystem; the elk population had grown out of control. Therefore, in 1995 the Fish and Game Department reintroduced wolves, which has benefited the Yellowstone ecosystem in many ways. However, the farmer and ranchers feel negatively about the reintroduction, feeling that wolves do nothing other than wreak havoc on livestock and pose a dangerous threat to those visiting the park. The wolves appear as a threat to the ecosystem of Yellowstone National Park, however they play a vital role and keep the ecosystem balance. Today s culture encourages children to be scared of wolves. Many of the stories shared with small ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. The Modern Culture Of Chippewa Today Though Native Americans are today seen as regular members of society and treated as such, and even are given certain special treatments (such as federally recognized tribes being seen as domestic dependant nations and allowing for them to have their own set of laws), there can be no argument when it is said that, in the past, they were treated terribly. In fact, when European settlers came, their clash with the natives resulted in mass genocide. The Chippewa lived mainly in the American midwest (including Michigan) and in Ontario, a Canadian province. I use the term lived here because, despite the Chippewa being alive and well, they are more spread out now due to the advantages of modern technology. The modern culture of Chippewa today is vastly different from original Chippewa, as well (Friedl, pgs 814 815). Food for them could range from rabbit or deer or even bears (Copway, George, Hulan, Shelley, pgs 26 and 28) to corn and wild rice (Friedl, pg 816). According to Friedl s data, Chippewas generally expect their circumstances to be constantly changing. For example, indigenous Chippewas left a lot of things to chance. As stated previously, they planted corn, but they did not tend to it (Friedl, pg 816). They collected wild rice when it was available, as well as nuts and berries when they were in season. They also heavily relied on dreams to lead them in the right direction (Friedl, 816). If they dreamed they would prosper elsewhere, they would leave. If they dreamed of ... • 7. Streaming Media and Netflix Netflix is an American company that provides video rental and on demand video streaming by way of either the mail or streaming through the internet. The company was founded in 1997 in Silicon Valley California by Marc Randolph and Reed Hastings. The idea for this DVD rental service came about when Reed Hastings was charged with a late fee when renting a movie and he questioned why he should have a time restriction on how long he is able to rent the movie. In April of 1998, the Netflix website was launched and they developed the concept of unlimited rentals with no shipping fees or late fees. In September of 2002, an article in The New York Times article stated that Netflix had around almost 670,000 subscribers. At the end of 2002, the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Instead, three weeks later, an announcement was made that Netflix had changed their mind. They decided to go back on what they said and decided they were going to keep all their services under the one same name that everyone was already familiar with after all. Steve Swasey, a representative for the company was quoted saying, We underestimated the appeal of the single Web site and a single service. This ended the creation of the idea of Qwikster but because of the confusing almost name change that was soon reversed and the raised prices they lost close to 800,000 fewer subscribers. This number of lost customers came to a shock to almost everyone. This was the first significant decline the company experienced and is a clear example of a company making a decision without considering the public s interest and opinions causing a significant have an impact on their profits. Netflix is just one example of the impact of technology on American family life. Subscribers to Netflix can now video stream movies to their computers and television with one click. This shifts consumers from looking outside the home for entertainment to becoming more insular in their hobbies. A recent article in the New York times cited how the former digital divide is closing and more poor American families are wired to use technology. • 8. Video Games Have A Huge Part Of Society From Pac Man to Call of Duty, video games have been a huge part of society. People will line up hours before a midnight launch of a video game just so they can play it the night it gets released. Video games aren t just a hobby they are a passion. People get immersed in fantasy worlds playing Call of Duty or being a dragon slayer in dragon age or Elder Scrolls. Video games are about accomplishment and competiveness. Xbox and PlayStation have built an empire on video games and consoles because our society fell in love with them dating way back to the arcade Pac Man and Donkey Kong days. Video game sales ($25 billion in 2011) continue to be the No. 1 form of discretionary entertainment, outshining both movies and music (USA,News 2015). Video games are obviously nothing without the consoles you play them on. PlayStation and Xbox are the biggest competitors in the video game market. The new consoles are virtually the same with a few small differences. The difference between buying an Xbox one or a PlayStation 4 is mostly your history of buying. Most PlayStation users have always had PlayStations and most Xbox users have always had Xbox s. For a huge number of our society, playing video games is a lifestyle. • 9. Art Of Near East Royalties Jinhwan Kim Professor Debin ArtHist 112 08 November 2016 Art of Near East Royalties Many people speculate on ancient artifacts with an eye towards its aesthetic value of contemporary etic perspective. While most people are not professional anthropologists who would try to be an anachronistic spectators of a so called unknown ancient society , the interesting historical and cultural aspects are embedded within every art piece throughout the ancient world. The ancient near east nations were characteristic in their own values just like any contemporary society, and they are worth the discussion through various aspects such as cultural, ideological, and historical. The first art piece called Ashurnasirpal II and a Winged Deity, discovered in Northern Iraq, Nimrud, in 9th century BC opens our exhibition of ancient near east art. The presence of many contents such as artistic canon, hierarchy of scale and composite view is most correspondent to the characteristics of Old Kingdom period of Egyptian art. The subject depicted in the panel is king Ashurnasirpal II on the left and the winged deity, god Ashur. In addition to details, hierarchy of scale is used for clarification; both king and the winged deity fully occupies the entire panel in absence of background features, and the deity is shown to be slightly taller than king Ashurnasirpal ii, to clarify its identity. The hair, wings and clothes in both subjects are very much stylized, not very naturalistic, with circular spots ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Some of these classes include United States history, Government, and World History. Although, there is a lack of any classes dealing with local history. State history alone only receives attention in the elementary school system and about a week in Government class. All school systems should include, in the required classes to take to receive a high school diploma, a local history class, so that the students may have a knowledge of the place where they live. Although, a more underlining issue behind local history needs to be answered first. In the general world of history, local history is too often in the hands of ... dedicated amateurs ... (Hicken ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... They should rather figure out their own history and help out the poor amateurs trying their best to put the puzzle together. Furthermore, local history in general needs to be cared about more. Like said before, the top level of prestige among historians is occupied by those who teach African or Asian history (Hicken 1). This prestige is also portrayed very well by Herb Block s political cartoon Except for Those of Us Who Are above It. Which, displays bureaucrats sitting on top of Washington above everyone else, with a caption Equal Justice Under Law. Which, shows that those of more important roles consider themselves better than the lower rules. All together, this shows that after people spend countless years in school and in the work force being a historian, they are studying the histories abroad and of more accomplishment, rather than their own with facts that have no meaning. Although, even major historians have hypocritically given themselves over to the study of some phase of history which, in the long run, amounted to only a minor aspect of a larger problem (Hicken 1). Yet, they ridicule local history and those who research it. These issues amongst historians are the major underlying issues when proposing the concept of a local history class. Now, looking at local history in a more positive light; it has an impression on the current environments people are surrounded with. What has happened in the past has shaped the places people ... Have you ever held an axe in your hands and then with all your might, hammer down on a piece of wood with the hopes it will split right in half? Imagine a three foot axe in hand and your only task is to split the maple log in front of you. All around you are trees and the other logs and pieces of wood you have gathered to either process or store for later use as fuel, but how much is enough fuel? Reginald Gibbons uses graphic imagery, and imaginative metaphors in his poem, Wood , to illustrate the difficult task of chopping wood through a not very obvious first person perspective, but upon further inspection, the poem uses imagery to establish the setting and also explores the different thoughts the unnamed character has. Right away, I noticed the large amount of imagery that was used in this poem A cylinder of maple / set in place, feet spread apart / and the heavy maul, fat as a hammer ( Wood 1 3). The first paragraph gives an accurate depiction of the action and visuals of what it is like to be outside on a cold day to split wood. Gibbons uses a heavy amount of imagery, mainly sight, in this poem. Each stanza has some form of imagery within it. The choice of words and style he decided to use puts a very weighty and, at one point, even put a darker mood over the poem. • 22. Drinking Mammal Milk Introduction Due to the well known health issues that are associated with drinking mammal milk, which includes lactose intolerance, a multitude of substitutions for milk containing lactose have been promoted to lactose intolerant individuals. Lactase is an enzyme that catalyzes the reaction of lactose hydrolyzing into glucose and galactose, which allows it to be digested. Humans naturally produce this enzyme, however, for some this production ceases as they age. Given that humans cannot digest lactose if it is not properly broken down, many intestinal issues can occur, such as bloating, constipation, and diarrhea. There are many alternatives to animal milk for individuals who have an insufficient quantity of lactase, such as rice, almond, and lactose free milk. These alternative milks are essential given that more than 70% of the world s population are lactose intolerant, which varies by race and age (Monakhova, et al, 2011). Our hypothesis was that if lactose is present in mammals, then more glucose will show up in mammal milk at gastric acid pH because the enzyme, lactase, will have more lactose to catalyze at the intestinal pH where the ... • 24. Biodiesel As A Vehicle Fuel Source Biodiesel as a vehicle fuel source is the way of the future for America, because it gives citizens freedom. Biodiesel is a fuel similar to diesel derived from a plant source, like corn, used vegetable oil, or even algae. This biofuel is created from renewable resources to replace the low source of fossil fuels that is unfortunately nonrenewable. American society was basically coerced into finding a substitute for depleting fossil fuel reserves. Rising conflict between the United States (U.S.) and Third World Countries has caused the prices of crude oil to go up. Due to these situations society had to come up with a cheaper, renewable source of fuel. Biodiesel is the key to releasing the chains of restraint that have been placed upon citizens by those third world countries. Scientists can take crops, oil, or pond scum to make a biodiesel that will help save the environment and economy. Biodiesel fuel is the key to less price restrictions, as well as society s future and fresh air. Biodiesel will also help with the noise pollution because industries will be using less of the oil well boom to extract the crude oil from the ground. Another bonus is that there would be less fracking meaning less harmful chemicals and natural gas getting into people s water supply. • 32. Film Analysis Of Vivian In the film, Wit, Starring Emma Thompson, Christopher Lloyd, Eileen Atkins, Audra McDonald, Jonathan M. Woodward, Harold Pinter directed by Mike Nichols we initially begin the film with a scene where Dr. Harvey Kelekian diagnoses Professor Bearing, also known as Vivian, that ultimately sets up the tone for the rest of the film. With only knowing some logistics of the film to begin we may think that the film will come to tell a story of survival, rather, the movie comes to deconstruct the idea the typical tale of staying strong through cancer treatment, overcoming the odds, and surviving. The screenplay and the director otherwise allude to the fact that the main theme or message trying to get across is the significance trying to reconstruct the individual, Vivian, yet not through any sort of chemotherapy, harsh cancer treatment, or any sort of physical treatment to the body. The manner that the film portrays a story of reconstruction is through the acceptance of one self s debilities and weaknesses, exposing oneself and their vulnerabilities and ultimately letting go of your control of those vulnerabilities in the process. Overall, the character is healed in such way of their internal soul, but still hinder the devastating diagnosis of cancer. With research on Vivian full on its way, we begin to see clearly how the spirit of Vivian diminishes. The physicians ask her how are you feeling today? so often that it becomes that it loses all meaning, and she remarks that she s a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 35. Jane Austen s A Light Hearted And Simplistic View Of... Jane Austen presents a light hearted and simplistic view of society through the ordinary lives in Emma. Every character is linked and connected to the location of Highbury in some way. The limited social and geographical range does pose weaknesses in this active yet reserved village. Austen s recognition of flaws behind gossip, marriage and social status, provide readers delight and a sense of identification. Emma successfully stimulates awareness to the effects of isolation, and generates appreciation for our own social privileges and position. Austen creates a dynamic community through the way characters engage and behave against traditional and established conventions. Highbury s isolation from the rest of England suggests boredom and loneliness will simultaneously follow. Conversely, this lays the foundation for future drama and conflict to follow. One large source of gossip is stirred by the letter written from mysterious Frank Churchill to Mrs Weston. Such communication between Highbury and the outside makes this matter significant as Frank threatens the harmony and social order of Highbury. As a result every morning visit in Highbury included some mention of the handsome letter . The ability to listen and retell, is necessary for Emma s community in order to avoid the dull seclusion. Mrs Elton is another cause for trivial issues, who tries to raise her social status level to that of Emma. Her snobbery is emphasised in Emma s thoughts when described as a person ... • 36. Social Deviance In Society We all hear and talk about social deviance, but not all of us think what does social deviance mean and how it happens among the societies where we live. In the news is always brought up as an issue that disturbs the structure in communities that we built. Societies always see social deviance as a negative phenomen that has been living among us for decades. How do we get a rid of it and make our communities better? We all may know the answer and yet, we do not do anything about it. Social deviance is a term used to define behaviors of individuals that are not aligned with everybody s behaviors in the communities we live in. Individuals in power have set standards on how to behave, act and think in terms of social structure. This diagram is supposed to keep our communities running under control and order. If all of us were born in a free land, how is it possible to restrain ourselves in the square foot of a shelf? One factor that leads to social deviance is social disorganization in the communities of our neighborhoods. Referring to the Code of Street in Cultural Deviance Theory, it is claimed that deviance behavior is learned from those around us or the environment that we grow up. All neighborhoods in New York City are different. The deviance behavior takes a different trait in each one of those neighborhoods. The Code of Street describes a phenomena such as collective efficacy, which it means shared beliefs and expectations of individuals in the society are ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 37. Essay On Kidney Replacement Background: Proximal end of the humerus is a common site for both primary and metastatic bone tumors. Limbe salvage with endoprosthetic replacement is the most common means of reconstruction but it is proved to be just a spacer with inferior shoulder function. So it can be replaced by cheaper spacers specially in poor societies. Patients and methods: This study included 20 patients, fourteen were females. With mean age of 40.4 years (range 12 to 60 ). Diagnosed as 6 osteosarcomas , two , chondrosarcomas, two myeloma, two lymphoma, four metastatic carcinoma from the breast , two giant cell tumor and two recurrent chondroplastoma. Limb salvage was successfully done to all of them with Tikhof linberg type I intwelve cases and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The most commonly used reconstructive techniques after proximal humeral resection include osteoarticular allografts , allograft or autograft prosthesis composites.(7) Risks vary dependent on the choice of reconstruction. Biological reconstruction can be complicated by fracture, infection, and subchondral collapse, leading to implant revision or removal. Difficulties with endoprosthetic reconstruction involve consequences of surgical resection of deltoid and rotator cuff. These include proximal subluxation, instability, and a reduction in functional range of motion . (2,3,8,9) Aim of the work: The aim of this work was to evaluate the result of (endoprosthetic versus cement spacer replacements) reconstructions of the proximal humerus after tumor resection. Patients and methods: This work included 20 patients presented with proximal humeral lesions with a mean age of 40.4 years (range; 12 to 60 years).fourteen (70%) females and six (30%) males. The lesions were in the form of; six (30%) osteosarcomas, two (10%) chondrosarcomas, two (10%) lymphomas, two (10%) myeloma, two (10%) giant cell tumor, two (10 %) recurrent chondroblastoma and 4 (20%) metastatic breast carcinoma. It likewise responds with water, carbon dioxide and oxygen. (2) Grignard reagents are set up by the response of magnesium metal with fitting alkyl halide in ether dissolvable. The halogen might be Cl, Br, or I. A standout amongst the most imperative employments of the Grignard Reagent is the response with aldehydes and ketones to frame liquor. A related blend utilizes ethylene oxide to plan alcohols containing two more carbon molecules than that of the alkyl halide. • 40. Let s Impose a Total Ban on Smoking in All Public Indoor... Banning smoking in all public indoor areas has been a controversial topic in recent years. Opinions on the issue are divided. Some members of the society have been expressing their resentment towards the ban, while some insist that such a ban is of practical necessity. In fact, a total ban on smoking in all public indoor areas should have been imposed a long time ago. Those criticizing the ban claim that smoking poses no immediate danger to people nearby. However, as we all know, this is far from true. Medical evidence proving the link between smoking and many fatal diseases is readily available. Smokers, as well as passive smokers, are vulnerable to heart attacks, strokes and cancers. Many members of the society have lost their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Business owners of catering industries and entertainment venues express their concerns that such a ban would unavoidably discourage smokers from patronizing and they claim they should be exempted from the ban. However, the argument they make is groundless. If there is a universal ban in all public places with no exception, there will be little effect on those businesses as long as smokers still have to dine out and still have to relax themselves in bars, karaokes or discos. It is simply ridiculous to assume that all smokers will stop going to these places! Moreover, the ban should be imposed on all public indoor places with no exceptions. Non smokers are everywhere! Why should we ignore the non smoker in any place? The health of non smoker in all places should by no means be neglected. Smokers also insist that it is their freedom to smoke and it is nobody business once they are willing to take the risks of smoking. True, they have the freedom to sacrifice their precious lives in exchange for the short term enjoyment smoking gives them, but it is only when they do so privately, i.e. at home! While smokers claim that they have the right to smoke, we must recognize that non smokers also have their freedom to enjoy fresh air. Isn t it egotistic to assume that the health of non smokers should be expended for protecting the right of smokers to smoke simply for their selfish wish for enjoyment? Isn t it absurd for such a claim in this civilized society of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
