I honestly thought that this lesson was going to be taught to teach to the class. I
spent countless hours reading the information in the curriculum handbook and even
collaborating with other teachers just to understand the material properly. I was

about symmetry and dividing crazy cakes evenly between two people by looking

Majority of patients indicate pain verbally, but what happens when an individual
cannot verbalize their pain? This is the situation for nonverbal individuals. Pain
assessment in the healthcare setting is important because it assists in the diagnosis
of the cause of pain. Pain may be an indicator of tissue damage but may also be
experienced when there is no identifiable cause (Jones Koneti, 2016). The
effectiveness of assessing pain in nonverbal patients is seen with the use of the
FLACC scale and can be compared to a verbal report.
One method of assessing pain in nonverbal patients is the FLACC scale. It is a
nonverbal assessment tool that is used for infants and children under the age of 3.
It is an objective assessment of pain in young children. It assesses five behaviors of
