What Is History Essay
Crafting an essay on the subject of "What Is History" is no small feat. It requires delving into the
intricate realms of historiography, grappling with diverse perspectives, and navigating the ever-
evolving debates within the field. The difficulty arises not only from the vast expanse of
historical knowledge but also from the nuanced nature of the topic itself.
Attempting to define the essence of history demands a careful examination of various theories,
methodologies, and philosophical underpinnings that have shaped the discipline over centuries.
The complexity lies in striking a balance between presenting a comprehensive overview and
delving into the specifics that give history its multifaceted character.
Moreover, one must confront the challenge of addressing the dynamic nature of historical
interpretation. History is not a static entity; it evolves as new evidence surfaces and societal
perspectives shift. Articulating this dynamism while maintaining clarity and coherence can be a
daunting task.
The research process for such an essay involves navigating a labyrinth of historical narratives,
primary sources, and secondary literature. It demands a discerning eye to distinguish between
reliable accounts and biased narratives, as well as an ability to synthesize disparate viewpoints
into a coherent and convincing argument.
Furthermore, the essay must engage with the broader implications of understanding history.
Questions about the relevance of history in contemporary society, its impact on collective
memory, and the ethical considerations inherent in historical representation add layers of
complexity to the task.
In conclusion, composing an essay on the topic of "What Is History" necessitates a rigorous
exploration of the subject matter, a nuanced understanding of historiographical debates, and the
ability to communicate these complexities in a clear and compelling manner. It is a challenging
endeavor that requires both scholarly diligence and a thoughtful approach to the inherent
complexities of the topic.

The Moral Of Kings That Can Improve Our Means
The Moral Of Kings That Can Improve our Means When I was in middle school
and was just beginning to get involved with Volleyball in a general P.E. class, my
friends and I had begun playing every day. At the time the school I was attending
was just a Fine Arts Academy and had not began the process of making in Varsity
sports teams. This lead to my friends and I, trying desperately to convince the dean
into letting us start a Varsity level team. This was highly unlikely considering it
was the first year the school was being opened and the district was still working on
the funding for all of the different programs the school had to offer. The dean
eventually made a deal with us and said if we were to start a sports team club and
raise the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The more we can think of morals from different fables, the more we can strengthen
our society. We have been known as an age that does not incorporate deep thoughts
as well as an age that is unsuccessful within making our own decisions. Thinking of
a moral like this is where we begin to make our change. By incorporating the not
involved leader and not accepting the cruel leader. This generation has the power
to make a change whether it is for the better or the worse. The more we change
how we think of certain situations the less it will take for our futures to be
enlightened. Fables have morals that can be heavily touched upon in society. Such
stories like The Frogs Desiring a King, gives a background to how politics could
and should work. The moral of this particular fable deals with the cruelty between
leaders. I see this as modern example of the 2016 Presidential debate and the future
in which Obama leaves office and if Trump gets elected president after. I feel the
arguments about Obama will die down once society realizes that he was not that
bad of a commander and chief compared to others in our modern day society. There
were many reactions that The Frogs Desiring a King, had given me. The main one
was that this could be, or would be how I could relate this to my society today. This
reaction partially came from my recent involvement in politics and how I have
become interested in who
The Censorship Of The Journalism
Breaking news just in.......... this is just one of the everyday things in the hectic
world of journalism. People often downplay the significance of this huge task.
Journalism allows people to know everything happening all around the world. It also
allows questions that would otherwise be awkward to ask to be answered. It offers
informative facts and often the whole truth to everyone out there. Without journalism
the government would probably be in control of everything and fellow citizens would
ignorant of the happenings around them.
One of the roles in journalism is the journalist. Journalists have several tasks to
complete but the main thing is that they inform the public about events and topics
and how it may pertain to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Not only was he a journalist he was also a publisher and printer. He was rather
successful in this area and it could be due to the fact that he would be neutral on
subjects and scrutinize all sides of an issue and several perspectives on those issues
would be published. He completely understood the meaning of the freedom of the
press, and he wouldn t limit the information he knows to the people in America.
A reporter is another essential position in journalism. A reporter is the one who
watches and pictures the events in great detail in order to inform viewers. They have
to state their own views and also the facts of the things they are covering. This job
includes having to gather the news and present it in a certain amount of time. They
have to interview several people and attend public meetings, press conferences, and
courts to find events of interest to the public.
This job doesn t quite provide fixed hours or a regular routine; it ll change by the
day. The type of work will change daily, as well as the amount of it. To fit this job a
reporter must possess confident, so they won t be overly amazed or intimidated by
the rank of an interviewee. A reporter should always take initiative to do all tasks
and not be easily discouraged by people or their surroundings. They should also
posses the mental and physical drive to deal with any kind of situation quickly and to
put it into words. When
Case Study Chipotle
Chipotle has been a successful company in the United States ever since Steve Ells
launched the business in 1993. The business started in Colorado and has since has
expanded and grown to be successful to restaurants all over the U.S. Since it has been
so successful in the U.S, it is likely that it can be profitable in other nations around the
world. However, there are certain rules, regulations and implications that Chipotle
needs to explore before the business expands into global markets. Many businesses
jump to the conclusion of thinking that if a company can be successful in one area,
that it can be just as successful in another. Before making this assumption, businesses
need to expand on potential challenges that they might encounter
Communication Reflection Analysis
Quietly standing in a museum, you examine a written document or other artifact. It
may seem like just a piece of paper or a cool item to look at from hundreds of years
ago, but you aren t just looking at it. You re having a conversation with it. Not
everyone will realize it, but there are conversations to be had with these items, carried
through time so that we might learn from them today. This was the image painted by
Dr. Beth Henschen, who works in the Political Science Department at EMU. This
event was one of several of the lectures from the Courageous Conversations series
beneath Star Lectures, held at the Honors College auditorium on September 19th, and
beginning at 7:00 pm. After attending this event, I can now explain my stance about
the power and importance of conversations, and the lasting impact they can have.
When I hear the word conversation, I frequently picture relaxed settings where people
speak casually. Conversation was separate from debate, arguments, and other forms of
communication, simply because I was never taught to connect any of them. What Dr.
Henschen explained is that conversation covers a much broader variety of speaking
and can also include a more important and professional type of speaking. Not only
did I learn about the different types of speaking that the word conversation
encompasses, but I also learned about the power and influence of conversations,
specifically linked to the constitution, as well as in everyday life. Through the image
Jean Vygotsky Vs Piaget
How do children think and how do they learn? These questions could possibly be
answered by exploring the psychological perspective. The cognitive developmental
theory seeks to describe how knowledge is obtained in addition to the construction of
thought processes. The first individual who proposed a methodical cognitive
developmental theory was Jean Piaget, however, there are many other theories
pertaining to cognitive development, for instance, those of Lev Vygotsky. Piaget
developmental approach derived from a self supporting, biological perspective,
whereas Vygotsky s approach acquired social and environmental factors. Despite the
differences or strengths and weaknesses, both made astonishing cognitive
applications to child development.
Jean William Fritz Piaget, also known as Jean Piaget was born on August 9, 1896,
in Neuchatel, Switzerland; born to Rebecca Jackson and Arthur Piaget; both of
which had a major impact on Piaget s life. Piaget s father was a medieval literary
scholar with an interest in local history. Piaget idolized his father s dedication to
work and adopted his skeptical, scientific attitude at an early age. However, Piaget
often described his mother as neurotic or poor in mental health combined with her
religious enthusiasm which lead Piaget to become enticed with psychology.
Unfortunately, Piaget grew up quite fast but had various interests. From age seven to
ten, he became interested in mechanics, birds, seashells, and fossils of secondary
Cynthia Ozick Analysis
Throughout all of history, human beings have been storytellers. Humans have always
sought to explain the unknown, understand themselves and the world around them,
and connect through myth, story, and gossip. This transcendent nature of mythology
proves it is much more than mere stories. Humans tell stories because they yearn to
order the world to their lives. The real distinction between humans and other animals
is not simply intelligence or reason, but the ability to share our stories. They uniquely
connect all of humanexistence to act as a group in order to be more than just
individuals. Humans desire connection as much as they desire order, and myth unites
these primal desires. Cynthia Ozick explains the unity between the desires in her...

Ozick describes that stories proliferate in their scores of languages, out of
continents leafy or arid, out of furious histories and agitated moral persuasions.
Myths have existed and exist all over the world, in various languages, and with
different motives. Yet, every myth plays an important role in any specific culture by
connecting its members. Every myth includes symbols and lessons that give worth to
human existence and connects all humans, or humans of a specific culture, to a
transcendent order that lets them act as a people. Contrary to popular belief, myth
and history do not oppose each other, but are linked together. Myth dates back
thousands of years and permeates through all of human existence, and yet the stories
still hold true. For example, in the Myth of Daedalus and Icarus, Icarus disobeys his
father, flies to close to the sun and meets his demise. (Ovid) Although this story was
written thousands of years ago, little boys still constantly disobey their father s
wishes. In addition, Daedalus has a love for invention and progress. (Ovid) Current
societies are obsessed with the progression of invention and technology. Furthermore,
in Brueghel s painting Fall of Icarus, man s ignorance toward suffering is represented
by the unfazed Sheppard and fishermen. This lack of compassion from humans still
astonishingly true today. Humans have become increasingly desensitized to human
suffering because of the constant war, tragedy, and hardships in everyday
Emotional Intelligence For Biologists By Dr. Paulette
Laubsch
Abstract: This paper is based on the seminar topic Emotional Intelligence for
Biologists by Dr. Paulette Laubsch. Emotional Intelligence is the capacity to
understand one s feelings or others feelings. This differs from general intelligence
because it is a step further than taking known information and interpreting it to make
it useful; it is using emotions to make information beneficial and useful. The
following paragraphs will explore emotional intelligenceand how it affects people s
decision making and sociability with others.
Introduction: Emotional Intelligence is defined as an individual s ability to govern
their own emotions and the emotions of others (PsychologyToday). In order to be
emotionally intelligent, the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, the way someone comforts a person can be a result of cultural
aspects; some people use touching, while others opt to just talking. Dr. Laubsch
described the hierarchy of happiness, noting how everyone requires their basic
needs to be met in order to be happy and content. She also mentioned ways to be
emotionally intelligent, i.e. knowing when to deliver bad news (not on a Friday),
knowing who s vulnerable and who s not, and knowing how to read body language.
Lastly, she discussed empathy and how feeling for someone can impact emotional
intelligence. In order to properly understand emotional intelligence, more research
must be done. Many psychologists conducted experiments to explore how one s
capacity for emotional intelligence can affect the way they work with others,
especially in the health field.
Materials and Methods: One of the studies conducted was in Malaysian public
hospitals. Emotional intelligence was studied among nurses to see how it impacted
caring behavior. This was done by using a cross sectional survey and administering it
to five hundred and fifty nurses and using structured equation modeling to analyze the
data (Kaur 2015). Another study sought to examine the relationship between self
rated and performance measures of emotional intelligence by using tools such as the
Self Rated Emotional Intelligence scale (Bracket et al. 2006). This type of test

Essay On Milton Glaser
Milton Glaser, born in 1929 is one of the most honorable and well respected
graphic designers today. He has contributed to many creative ideas and also helped
create the Pushpin. Glaser was educated in three very prestigious schools, High
School of Music and Art and the Cooper Union art school in New York and, via a
Fulbright Scholarship, the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna, Italy. Milton Glaser
played with the aspect of figuring out what is art and how can you define
something that has many different meanings. He wrote that art is whatever
(Milton Glaser, TED) and then he discovered that art has mystery that shadows
history. Now, because Glaser was and still is a well respected artist, he was given
several awards, one of them was presented to him by President Barack Obama. I can

In 1989 Glaser had many shows out in exhibitions but one stood out, which was
One Man Show which was filled with posters at the Vicenza Museum. Milton was
also given the opportunity to create a tribute to the Italian artist, Piero della
Francesca to celebrate their 500th anniversary. He had such a difficult time to try
to visualize painting but he did his best and started a series of them, a series of
variations. He did variations of him in profile because apparently he was injured in
battle. So there were many abstract variations of that painting. Glaser has become
the face of the community for artists, he has been a board member for the School of
Visual Arts in New York since 1961. He was and still is on the board at the Cooper
Union in New York City. Among many awards, Glaser was awarded The Society of

The importance of providing students with physical education classes.

Student athletes should be required to take physical education classes like the rest of
the school. The very important values that students learn through physical education
classes are something that sports cannot teach. If schools do consider an exemption,
they must decide what to include in their exemption status. The main role of a
student is to learn during his time at school is to learn. Students that are exempt from
physical education often do not have to fill the extra time in their schedule with any
meaningful classes. Until there is an effective way for students to gain the education

Physical education classes provide the opportunity to develop a variety of skills.
When students play sports only a select group of skills are developed. The National
Association for Sport and Physical Education suggestion instruction that includes
Instruction in a variety of motor skills that are designed to enhance the physical,
mental, and social/emotional development of every child (NASPE, 2003a). The
National Association for Sports and Physical Education has a membership that
consists of educators and administrators. One of the main goals of the organization
is to improve and support high standards in physical education. Their definition
shows that Physical education develops more than just the body. It is important
that students also have the opportunity to develop emotional and social skills
gained through physical education classes. If the students do not receive these
skills it can have a negative effect over their lifetime. Students exempt from
physical education classes will often have the opportunity to have another study
hall. A study hall is a time during school when students who do not have required
class in that time period go for that time frame. When I was a student I had many
study halls during my high school career. My school did not offer any exception for
playing sports the only study halls I had were after all the graduation requirements
were met. I had a great deal of time to see
Rhetorical Analysis Of Hockey By Franlin Kaernick
Summary:
In the wake of Colin Kaepernick s decision not to stand during the playing of the
United State national anthem, a ripple effect has been felt throughout the world of
sports the past week. Kaepernick s actions have caused reactions both in support
and in condemnation from professional sports athletes, the military, police, and
President Barack Obama. With the World Cup of Hockey taking place, a notable
name from the sport has taken an opportunity to add his opinion to the
controversial issue. It was not in favor of Kaepernick s stance on social justice.
USA Hockey Coach John Tortorella told ESPN s Linda Cohn ahead of the World
Cup of Hockey that, If any of my players sit on the bench for the national anthem,
they will sit there the rest of the game. Tortorella, coach of the Columbus Blue
Jackets, has a son who is a member of the Army Rangers. I know these are hockey

Colin Kaepernick used his platform to give a silent protest on what he feels is
African Americans not being treated equally in the United States. With the large
exposure that sports athletes have, taking a stance on big social issues can bring
awareness where it is needed. As the head coach of Team USA, Tortorella does the
right to bench whomever he wants regardless of the reason. By taking that stance,
he is creating a conflict with his players. He is taking away his players freedom of
speech and expression to influence social change. Team USA defender, Dustin
Byfuglien, is the only African American player on the roster. If Byfuglien were
inspired to participate in Kaepernick s protest, his right to play for his country
would be taken away. This could backfire for Tortorella in the public eye as he is the
coach of a country that is built upon freedom of

Dark Alliance By Gary Webb
Dark Alliance GARY Webb book review
In the book Dark Alliance by Gary Webb, is about the conspiracy of how the CIA
had monitored the selling of crack cocaine in America to help fund the Nicaraguan
contras secretly. And also during this process the Nicaraguan drugs were being sold
to inner cities to create a drug known as crack that harmed the black population
drastically.
First of all Gary Webbhad made a newspaper over this topic Gary was once a news
paper reporter and when he released the paper version of dark alliance it shocked
America many believing it was real many believing there was not enough evidence
however it has stood till today as being an accurate interpretation of corruption that
indeed happened in present day America.
The book tells us the story of how this all went down, basically there was a Latin
American army that was obtaining profits from the illegal drugs that were being
sold to the inner city gang groups known as the Crips and bloods. and while all this
was happening the CIA was well aware and in fact they were supposedly running the
whole operation. Know that the drugs ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

taken. Whenever it had finally began to capture American peoples attention the CIA
saw this was a problem and created a counter move to make Webb s findings
irrelevant to try and make America not believe in his story. After this incident Webb
was demoted for telling the truth so quit soon after.
Thane eventually many of the suspensions came to light when the inspector general
of the CIA had confessed that the CIA was involved in the drug trafficking between
the contras and the united states and also stated that the operation was under wraps
for 13 years there was no documentation of the events. However the American
government just pretended as if nothing was ever going
Film Analysis Of The Film Blue Velvet
The film Blue Velvet was written and directed by David Lynch in 1986. This movie
was inspired by Bobby Vinton s cover of the song Blue Velvet that was released in
1963. In the film, David Lynch showed stylization through the opening and closing
montages, as well as the ear of Denmark. Another stylized moment seen within this
filmis through the odd connection between Booth and Lincoln. Blue Velvet is a cult
hit dealing with violence, sex, and kidnapping, all being glorified. Within the movie,
the camera zooms into the ear, which is significant within the film because it starts
Jeffery s shady journey. In the movie, it starts off showing viewers a blue velvet
curtain. According to page one of the Stylized moments chapter, this... Show more

The ending is almost exactly set up like the opening, with a viewing of a
crosswalk, signifying that things are normal . The happy closure is unconvincing
when applying the next day template to expect the memories and aftershocks of
Frank s disease to be wiped out by his death , McBride said. I disagree with this.
The ending of the movie symbolized peace in my opinion. Despite the disease,
Jeffery put inside her and her conflicting facial expression, Dorothy can go back to
living her normal, American dream. The primal scene is focused on Jeffery
coming of age. Many times throughout the movie, sexualized scenes are shown. A
specific scene was at the beginning of the movie when Jeffery s dad begins to have
a stroke while watering the grass. As he falls, the nozzle of the garden hose is right
where his crotch is. According to Professor McBride, this is necessary for the dog to
continuously pound on him as it instinctively barks at and bites the streaming water.
This scene and set up shows how animalistic these attacks are. During this scene, a
young child sees this animalistic outbreak, which relates back to a Freudian
assumption. Since this film has the Freudian sensation right at the beginning, it
makes it obvious that this film will be an erotic one. Something else that was
important in the primal scene was Lynch first provides this child witnessing a
perplexing violent attack as a

Statistical Tools And Methods Of A Cat Corporation...
We shall identify statistical tools and methods to collect data and also analyze data to
determine the appropriate decision for the identified problem in A CAT CORP
forecasting.
There are many statistical tools that you can use to perform analysis on the A CAT
Corporation. One of the tools to use is Mean; it will help in getting the average sale of
voltage regulators per year and be used for comparison purpose. Standard deviation
will be used to measure the spread/dispersion of data around the mean. A measure
of spread gives us an idea of how well the mean, for example represents the data
(Lund Research, 2013). Finally the co efficient of variation will be used for
comparison of variation since it s more convenient than the others. Another key
statistical tool for the analysis of the data is Excel.
The category of data provided in this given case study is under the historical data
category. The reason because it contains history tables for reporting or analysis
purposes. The relationship between this type of data and the tools is that the table
containing sales for the last few years gives the set of numbers required by the
statistical tools for comparison purpose. Results are used to identify the sales trend.
The co efficient of variation is the most important tool since it is more convenient
compared to the standard deviation. It is used for comparison of variation. The lower
the co efficient of variation, the smaller the residuals relative to the predicted value
The Success Of The Outfit Is The Most Known, And Feared
Gang
The Outfit is the most known, and feared gang in all of Chicago. Rumor has it; any
business owner who refuses to do business with Capone gets their business burnt to
the ground. With this kind of initiative driving local businesses to do business with
him, Capone has built a moneymaking machine; with bootlegging, prostitution, and
gambling Capone has made millions of dollars off his business (History.com Staff).
Everyone knows not to mess with Capone, especially not the people he loves and
surrounds himself. He prides himself as a respectable businessman (Bair, 41), and
how he runs his operation as the type built on friendships and favors (Haller,

We started by doing some bouncer work for some of the brothels the Outfit owned;
and by collecting earnings from the prostitutes. When the time came to collect from
people who owed the Outfit, and they refused, changing their minds was difficult, and
scary.
One situation messed me up pretty bad. It was right after I joined the gang. I had to
prove myself to everybody in the Outfit, and especially Al Capone himself.
I was given a special task: to persuade a businessman named Carl to buy more of
our alcohol so he could sell it in his bar. Everyone made it seem like a simple
enough task, so I did not worry too much. The man s neighborhood was deserted.
No one in sight and no one in ear shot. This was familiar; it reminded me of my
own neighborhood. I knew the kind of amount of fear felt to clear the roads when
gangsters were coming. The thought of the fear in those people s minds; so much
fear, they decided to hide away in their homes and practically lock their business
doors; sent chills up and down my entire being, especially because I have known
that fear all too well. The roads were so deserted I could hear the sound of my own
heartbeat, which was racing unlike any other. When we finally arrived at our
destination, my heart seemed to slow, as if the only thing worrying me was the drive
over.
Carl s business looked like a regular old gin mill (Slang of the 1920 s), it seemed to
be an up and coming one, too.

El racismo aun prevalece en nuestra sociedad
Perfil Racial
Es evidente que en nuestra sociedad el racismo aГєn prevalece. Lo vemos todo el
tiempo en las noticias, los crГmenes de odio contra los latinos, de Oriente Medio, los
afroamericanos y otras minorГas.
degradante para las minorГas que van a travГ©s de Г©l, asГ como ilegal.

Decrease Of The Behavior Of Perfectionism
This major term paper is designed to show the decrease of the behaviour of
perfectionism within a 20 year old, male university student. This paper is designed
to achieve a more realistic and sustainable lifestyle as well as to decrease the
negative effects of perfectionism and effective ways of dealing with this type of
behaviour. Negative effects of perfectionism typically include depression, anxiety,
OCD, deterioration of social aspects and emotional aspects. In the past methods he
has used included maintain outside social relations, decreasing the withdrawal period
after an unattainable goalhasn t been achieved. Often times the participant would
seek advice from his mother who also suffers from being a perfectionist by doing so...

Avon Case Analysis Essay
Avon Corporation In order to begin to understand the industry in which Avon
functions as well as the specifics around the introduction of the new EAS drive, I used
the 5Cs analysis to outline the company s current situation. Situation Analysis via the
5Cs:
Company * Avon manufactured a number of electrical products * Sold products to
both end users and OEMs * $6M in sales annually of the AVDC drives, lost sales to
EAS drives Collaborators * Distributors and OEMs В Avon could establish many
more relationships once they can compete in more than just the AVDC drives, and
can address the more price sensitive side of the market Customers * Three types of

This could indicate the presence of two markets, one very price sensitive and a much
less price sensitive В high end niche but smaller market. After taking the derivative,
the P = ВЅ MC + 3560. However, due to the shape of the graph and its poor fit to
the linear regression, I split the data in two portions. According to the market
analysis, the more price sensitive (MAS) end of the market is the largest segment
and a price of $4400 produces the largest UCM (Exhibit 1.) I repeated the regression
again with prices from $3750 to $5000 only. The trend line is now a much closer fit
than previously and the new derivative equation is P = ВЅ MC + 2895.
To calculate optimal pricing I used MC outlined in the case as based on volume of
drives produced weekly. Fixed costs of plant and equipment were not included in this
analysis although are later evaluated for breakeven time frame.
Quantity 200 units/week 100 units/week 50 units/week 30 units/week
MC $2995 $3594 $4193 $4500
Price $4393 $4692 $4992 $5145
However, it is not clear from the above where the contribution margin is greatest and
whether Avon should use the penetration strategy at a price close to the current MAS
price, or focus on the niche high end market and price close to the current EAS price.
Looking at the UCM analysis which
Gilgamesh Flood Vs Flood
Flood vs. Flood After reading the flood story in the Epic of Gilgamesh and the
flood story in Genesis, I was surprised by how far apart these stories written and by
how many similarities I found between them. In this paper I am going to discuss
the many similarities and difference between these two stories and reasons as to
why, although so far apart in time, can be very similar in text. First I would like to
discuss the similarities I found while reading these two stories. The obvious
similarity is that both stories involved a flood that wiped out all life on earth. Both
stories involve one man being spoken to be their respective god to build a boat to
prepare for the flood (Genesis 11) (Gilgamesh 108). Noah and Gilgamesh had
families that also helped build their boats. These two men were also instructed to
bring aboard all living creatures (Gilgamesh 108) (Genesis 12).... Show more content

Seven days of flooding, seven days to complete the boat, seven decks on the boat,
seven days waiting in the flood. Also in both these stories the floods were caused
by large amounts of rain that occurred for seven days. Another fascinating
similarity I found was the use of birds. Gilgamesh and Noah sent out raven and
dove in order to find land as they got closer and closer to land (Gilgamesh 11)
(Genesis 13). When both boats finally came to rest, they were on the top of a
mountain (Genesis 13) (Gilgamesh 11). After the boats rested Gilgamesh and Noah s
their gods spoke to them, telling them to get off their

Difficult Patient
At some point in all of our practicing careers, we will encounter a challenging
patient. It is critical for practitioners to devise ways to work with difficult patient.
The patient may be difficult for different reasons. It is rare that he or she is difficult
for no reason. Finding the root of the cause may assist in caring for this patient in
future visits. This root cause may be related to culture, communication, or autonomy
of care. I believe that the majority of difficult patients behave the way they do
because of some unfulfilled need. They may feel frustrated, afraid, ignored, uncared
for, misunderstood, lonely and the list goes on. These patients may need an apology,
empowerment, education, empathy, reassurance or simply a listening
The Ethics Of The Enron Scandal
Ethical Scrapbook In the three excerpts that will be discussed in this report there is
a theme. That theme is ethics or the lack there of. What all three of these cases have
in common is that people were willing to trade in their reputations, their livelihood
and in some cases their personal freedom to get what they wanted. In two of the
examples, the prize they sought was money, pure and simply a case of greed.
Importantly, these people already had significant wealth, and they were willing to
take the chance on losing what they had already attained to get more. In the other
case, the defendant s ethics are what initiated his behavior.

Essay On Australian Flag
Let go of mummy s skirt Australia! It s time to move forward as a nation. The current
Australian flag does not distinctively represent Australia s national identity and must
be changed. First of all, the flag does not acknowledge prior ownership of the land,
nor does it demonstrate the ability to fully reflect the identity of ordinary Australians.
Furthermore, changing the flag will not alter the national pride within Australians as
they fought for the country, not for the flag.
It is well known in Australian history that the Aboriginal people were first inhabitants
of Australia before Captain Arthur Phillip and the first fleet. Clearly indicating that
aspects of the Indigenous culture should be included in the Australia flag to
acknowledge their prior ownership of the land. However, Australian and New
Zealand are the only two major independent Commonwealth countries which retain
British Ensigns as their national flags. The flag only acknowledges Australia s
historical links with the United Kingdom, unit of the six states and territories and
geographical location. Changing the flag will allow Australians to acknowledge the
Aboriginal s prior ownership of the land and even promote reconciliation. ... Show

changing the flag will definitely not diminish the spirit of the courageous souls which
battled for the country. Instead, the heroic servicemen should be recognised and

Partnership A partnership or firm is established through written agreement between
all the partners. The law governing the partnerships in Pakistan is contained in the
Partnership Act 1932. Characteristics In Pakistan partnerships are of two kinds:
В·Registered Partnership В·Unregistered Partnership There is no requirement to
register a firm, however there are certain benefits of registering a firm. In case of
registered firm, the partnership deed is registered with the Registrar of Firms.
Unregistered partnership can be dissolved without any formality, however a
registered firm can only be dissolved through a written dissolution application to
the Registrar of Firms. By definition partnership is a relation between two or more
persons who have agreed through a written partnership deed to conduct the business
and share the profits and losses of the business according to the terms of the
partnership deed. Partnership business can be conducted by all partners or any of
the partners on behalf of others. A maximum of 20 partners are allowed to form a
partnership. In a partnership firm the partners liability is not limited and they are
fully liable for all claims or law su its against the partnership. Formation Registration
of Partnership Procedure and Requirements The registration of Partnership firm is not
required by law and there is nopenalty for non registration. Nevertheless registration

Taking a Look at the Bangladesh Genocides
The Bangladesh Genocides is remembered as the most concentrated genocide of the
20th century, however it is an astonishing act of overlooking. In an attempt to crush
forces seeking independence for East Pakistan, the West Pakistani military regime
unleashed an efficient campaign of mass murder which aimed at killing millions of
Bengalis, and succeeded in doing so.
For the bloodbath in March December 1971 when the Pakistani army executed a
largely unarmed Bengali population in the then vital part of Pakistan s state known as
East Pakistan , in an effort to suppress the region s demand for independence was at
the time the biggest story in the world s media.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Before 1971, Bangladesh was divided into two regions; both with opposing political
power. Although East Pakistan (Bangladesh) withheld the larger population between
the two provinces, it acquired much less political dominance than West Pakistan.
Through the power and representation of leader Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, East
Pakistan rebelled. Rahman, leader of political party The Awami League demanded
more powers both politically and economically. This struggle finally cumulated into
the war of independence for East Pakistan.
CAUSE OF THE GENOCIDE
In the 1971 national elections, The Awami League, led by Sheikh Mujibur Rahman,
had a major success, winning 160 seats as well as majority of the national assembly.
Rahman demanded independence for East Pakistan, as well as the right to form a
government.

very successful Kickstarter campaign claimed they wanted to open the world s first

The Relationship between Sensitivity to Reward and Punishment and Eating
Behaviours
Courtney Andrews
Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology University
Abstract
A study involving 252 participants undergoing the course Biological Psychology was
carried out in order to examine the correlation between sensitivity to reward (SP),
Body Mass Index (BMI), weight and more frequent consumption of unhealthy fast
foods, (e.g., high in fat and sugar). The core results showed the participants found that
sensitivity to reward was strongly negatively correlated with BMI and weight.
However, both these correlations are not statistically significant at the 95%
confidence level. Alongside this finding, sensitivity to reward was positively
correlated with unhealthy fast foods, which leads to more frequent consumption of
fatty and sugar rich foods. These values were also not statistically significant. This
research needs to consider gender balance inequality, environmental cues such the
accessibility of fast food (e.g., the amount and distance these restaurants are from
their home residence) and one time collection of data used.
The Relationship between Sensitivity to Reward and Punishment and Eating
Behaviours
Undoubtedly, the obesity epidemic in western society has never been so prevalent as
the rate continually is climbing. There is an ample body of research that suggests that
more frequent consumption of unhealthy fast
My First Day At School Essay
On the morning of September 1st, 2016, I woke up to my alarm excited and ready
for my first day of school. I quickly got dressed and ran down the stairs to get some
breakfast. I ate my breakfasts meal, and since there was time to kill before we were
allowed to enter school, I pet my dogs and just layed down in my warm, soft
blankets. I wish I could bring my dogs and my blankets to schoolwith me, I thought
to myself, but I know school is a time for learning, not for sleeping and relaxing.
Once it was around 7:25 AM, my dad drove me to school. I met my friends in front
of the school by the big tree in the front of the campus, and we talked about how
weird it was going to be going to a whole new school with people we knew and
people we didn t know. We also were talking about which teachers we thought we
were going to get. We had many other discussions for the rest of the time we had to
hang out together. but I can t remember what they were about.
Quite a few minutes later, the bell that signaled that we could enter school rang, and
we all scrambled inside to get in line to get our schedules. I got in line, and waited
until I got to the front. Once I did, I said my first and last name to the person and
they gave me my schedule. I looked it over, and ran to find my friends so I could
see if I had any classes with them. I had some of my them in my classes, but not
many. For the remainder of the morning we had to hang out, I wandered around the
school, checking things

Adam Aircraft
Introduction: This paper is about a company called Adam Aircraft that manufactures
designs and ultimately intends to sell aircrafts in the aerospace industry. Rick
Adam, a successful entrepreneur that has a passion for flying, established the
company in the year 1993. Rick Adam identified a need in the market through
analysis and research by various means. His passion for flying was fueled by his
father that served in the US Air Force. Pilots and computer engineers socially
surrounded Rick, which gave him an insight to knowing what the customer needed.
According to the case, Rick described himself as a raging incrementalist in which he

At first Ricks, biggest fear was that if the jets his company produced were not to be
certified by the Federal Aviation Authority (FAA), because the more time it took
the FAA to certify a plane the more costs and bills Rick had had to pay. Due to the
limited financial capability of the company, it was bound to fail if Goldman sachs;
Ricks previous partner did not intervene and provide the necessary capital needed
to fund to company until it launched its products. The company s costs were on
going and high mainly because most the workforce included very experienced
managers and marketers on the top management level and for the technical part,
they were all highly paid engineers, which also worked overtime paid shifts of 21
hours a week. Having mentioned earlier the tight schedule and the high costs as a
challenge and a problem, I would like to continue with the problems that involved
the over seeing and analyses of the market that was performed by Rick. I believe the
management team was very optimistic in terms of forecasting success. Even though
the products offered to the market created a huge buzz but was everyone that
praised the aircrafts going to eventually but the products? No. I also believe that
Rick and his management team were blinded by their passion for planes to properly
position and launch their products. They could have created a more solid strategy in
terms of the launching and exposing of the product to the public.
The Pros And Cons Of Epigenetics
What makes one individual different from the other? Many have attempted to answer
this question from ancient philosophers and theologists to modern day scientists.
Regardless of whether the individual concerned is a cell or a whole organism, the
answer is said to lie in the nature vs. nurture debate. Thus arose another, related
question How do individuals with extremely similar blueprints develop an astounding
amount of differences? Biological research attempting to settle the debate for once
and for all has found that differences amongst a cohort of individuals is established
by an interplay of both genetics (nature) and various environmental influences
(nurture).
Epigenetics, a term coined by Conrad Waddington (from Greek epi , over , outside of

A related phrase described by Waddington to help elaborate the phenomenon of
epigenetics, the epigenetic landscape attempts to explain how identical genotypes
could result in a wide variety of phenotypic variation through the process of
development. This epigenetic landscape can be dynamic capturing genetic,
environmental, and cell lineage effects and has been shown to be at least partly
heritable. (Szyf, M. (2015) Nongenetic inheritance and transgenerational
epigenetics. Trends Mol. Med. 21, 134 144). The epigenetic code is hypothesized
to be a defining code in every eukaryotic cell consisting of the specific epigenetic

the same, the epigenetic code is tissue cell

The Angels Pariah Versus The Prince Of Angels
On that fateful night the battle to end all battles started. The angels pariah versus
the prince of angels. The battle to shake the world. The battle fought for the
humans. But this is not were the story starts, not really anyways. My name is Nadie
Luccius and I am the one and only angel to tear off his wings and plunge down to
Earth all for the sake of being human. This is the story of the war between humans
and angels and it started one year ago.
The angel Nadie walked on the path of heaven being blamed for the misfortune in
the battle against demons, after all every place needs a pariah to take the blame,
even heaven. The angel looked down at Earth and looked at the humans marveling at
their complexity, their weakness, and their strength. Nadie couldn t help but to
marvel at them. Most angels saw the humans as weak hairless apes, but Nadie loved
them. Most of all he wanted to be one.
The angels liked to refer to Nadie as the next Lucifer, but he was the exact opposite.
Lucifer was cast down to hell because he could not love humans more than God, and
therefor defied his father. On the other hand Nadie loved and adored the humans.
An angel called out to Nadie
Hey Nadie Michael wants to speak with you. The angel said.
What does he want Leviaten? Nadie questioned.
Your guess is as good as mine Nadie but he seemed pissed of so, you better hurry
your ass up. The now named angel, Leviaten answered.
Don t tell me what to do; I still out rank you. Nadie said.

Examples Of Existentialism In Taxi Driver

Travis lives alone, without his family, any friend and lover, so he doesn t talk to

Dostoevsky s Notes from the Underground is separated into two parts. The first part,
Underground is narrated by the underground man like a soliloquy, in his point of
view. Like being in a dark underground, he writes these notes in his room alone, with
his high self esteem and self consciousness. He often thinks about the society where
he and others are, but now he withdrew in his world.
The second part, Apropos of the Wet Snow is the underground man s young age

Jacob
Esau is the elder twin brother of Jacob and were the sons of Isaac and Rebekah. They
were also the grandsons of Abraham and Sarah. The book of Genesis, identifies Isaac
as God s chosen son of the promise as well as Isaac s youngest son Jacob. (Towns,
1996) The theme of dishonesty happens repeatedly through the course of Jacob s life.
Jacob deceives his father Isaac and took the blessing from under his Brother Esau s
nose. Jacob departed from his home to a town named Haran, which was his mother
s ancestral home. Jacob then married Leah and Rachael, which produce twelve
children. God came to Jacob in a dream and revealed the angelic stairs, which was
perceive as gate of heaven, in the eyes of Jacob. From that point on Jacob vowed ...

Capernaum
Capernaum was constructed along the edge of the Sea of Galilee, it housed up to
1,500 residents. Its location is 2 1/2 miles from the point where the Jordan River
enters the Sea of Galilee and about 10 miles from present day Tiberias. The crest of
a ridge of hills, just to the west of the ancient town, is the mountain of Capernaum
referred to the Byzantine pilgrim Egeria as Eremos. The ruins are currently owned
by two churches and or synagogues. The New Testament is where Capernaum is
introduced in Matthew. Matthew refers to Capernaum as Jesus own city. Jesus made
Capernaum his home throughout the years of his ministry, Leaving Nazareth he
went and lived in Capernaum (Matt 4:13). Capernaum is one of the three cities
cursed by Jesus for its lack of faith. Jesus was challenged by a demon while teaching
in Capernaum. In Capernaum, Jesus healed the servant of the centurion. In this
synagogue, Jesus gave sermon on the bread of life. From this town he chose his first

Criminal Law and the Supreme Court
Criminal Law and the Supreme Court
William Howard Taft the president of the United States from 1909 to 1913, who
also was the Chief Justice, stated Presidents come and go, but the Supreme Court
goes on forever . Currently that holds true. The first Supreme Court was called to
assemble February 1 1790. It was then when they established their powers and duties.
The Supreme Court of the United States now has one chief of Justice and eight
Associate Justices. The Supreme Court of the United States is the highest judicial

First, that the person committed the criminal act in question and secondly, that they
did so with the required criminal mindset. The amount the court imposed seems a bit
offensive and in the authors opinion seems to be more of a general deterrence method
for others. The author is interested in this case because the author has downloaded
songs as well and never thought of those consequences.
Lawyers for the recording industry argued that illegal downloading hurt the recording
industry and that Joel Tenenbaum was a hardcore copy right infringer. Joel
Tenenbaum argued in his defense also argued that the U.S. Copyright Act is
unconstitutional and that Congress did not intend the law to impose liability or
damages when the copyright infringements amount to consumer copying. We re
pleased with this decision, RIAA spokeswoman Cara Duckworth said after the
Supreme Court s announcement Monday (2012). This is not the first such case of
this nature either.
In summary Joel Tenenbaumn although criminally liable was fined excessively. The
8th amendment protects an individual in this situation. In this case the author
believes although the fines imposed excessive it can be seen as punishment that can
be a general deterrence to a current issue out of control. Most younger people believe
that it hurts no one to download music and continue to do it frequently. Although
some people see it ethically wrong and see it the same as stealing. Maybe the case of

Summary Of Babylon And The Eyes Of The Lord Will Not...
1 2: Babylon, who had led the world astray is put to trial, stands guilty before God, a
testament for those men apart from God. The woman s alluring and seductive nature
is emphasized as she temps and leads the men of God astray into her evil and
idolatrous clutches. The harlots of the ancient world offered their bodies and sexual
services for payment, enhancing the view that Babylon is a great prostitute who
engages with the kings of the earth. Nahum 3:4 and Isaiah 23:17 both allude to a city
committing fornication with [the] nations,. which then leads to divine judgment,
emphasizing that this woman s great and abhorrent sin in the eyes of the Lord will
not go unpunished.

The golden cup of fornication that she holds is to entice men to join the glittering
harlot in her debauchery, and even the gold cup that she holds is but a costly cup of
abominations.
5 6: Just as God s servants are sealed with a mark on their forehead, so too is the
great harlot marked as the mother of prostitutes and of earth s abominations. The
name Babylon the Great is a direct reference from Daniel 4:30, which marks the
extend of Nebuchadnezzar s power that he so boastfully pronounces. The mystery
of this woman s name refers to Nebuchadnezzar dream in Daniel 4:9 where he is
warned of the disaster that lies ahead if his pride is left unchecked. This mystery
may signify that the harlot s name is not open and obvious to all, and that the name
itself may not be understood by the people of the time. The word mystery here may
be a part of the harlot s name, but more likely it is meant to bring out the significance
of what follows, a proper transition that brings out the meaning of the name. The
saints faithfully continue to witness about Christ, and thus are killed as they engage
in fearless witness throughout this period, even to the point of death.

Gmo Lab Report Essay
Introduction During the course of this lab, we explored whether or not certain
processed foods contained Genetically Modified Organisms. Genetically modified
food is an important subject in the world today. Ever since Flavr Savr came out
with their tomatoes grown from genetically modified seeds in 1994 genetically
modified foods has become ever more popular amongst distributors of produce
(Mestel, 2013). The world s population has grown by around one billion in the last
decade (US Bureau of the Census). At this rate, Genetically Modified Organisms

We hypothesize that the cornbread mixture has been genetically modified and
therefore will show that in the results.
Materials and Methods The purpose of this experiment is to use PCR method to
identify genetically modified foods. During the experiment we, as a group, tested
a known non GMO food sample, oatmeal, along with our cornbread mix. We first
weighed out 0.77 g of the non GMO oatmeal. We then proceeded to add 3.85 ml
(5.00 ml per 1.00 g) of distilled water (DW) to the oatmeal and ground them
together with a pestle. The same was done with 0.99 g of the cornbread mix and
4.95 ml of DW. We pipetted each of these into separate screw cap tubes consisting
of 500 l of an InstaGene solution. These we incubated and centrifuged for
approximately 5 minutes each. We then took six PCR tubes and filled them each
up, 2 with the non GMO oatmeal mixture, 2 with the cornbread mixture and 2 with
a known GMO positive substance. The Non GMO and GMO positives served as
controls for the experiment. One of each of the two tubes contained 20 l of plant
MM and GMO MM. The PCR tubes were then placed in a thermal cycler and after
this we did an agarose gel electrophoresis to provide us with the necessary data
received from bands that should ve shown up n the gel.
Results Even though we had followed procedure and accurately mixed the correct

The art of the conclusion is to summarize and generalize experiences or information
in order to affect the reader, and to strongly close out a piece of writing. Moreover, an
author must strive to utilize universal situations to increase the ability to relate to an
essay for a conclusion to demand understanding. Three writers from Ways of Reading
have conclusions that adequately achieve an effective conclusion: Paulo Freire, author
of The Banking Concept of Education, Richard Rodriguez, author of The
Achievement of Desire, and Alberto Alvaro Rios, author of Translating Translation:

There is room for dialogue in this explanation as to whether or not this type of
society is necessary for utilizing this method of learning and teaching, but the
essence of such a concept almost disconnects the reader from the essayist.
Throughout the whole article, there are examples of what a banking classroom
may feel like, allowing the reader to relate to some experiences, but the conclusion
separates Freire s idea of how education should evolve and the reader s involvement
in that process. According to writer Neil Patel, it is absolutely required that this
disclaimer exist in the conclusion as to [clarify] what [Freire] is saying so [the
reader takes] away the right message (Neil 4). Freire uses this disclaimer to answer
the popular question associated with conclusions: so what? To Freire, the main
message of his essay is to engage in a problem posing atmosphere, and his so what? is
that students today are losing a vital opportunity to learn by not actively trying to
change the ways of education. In summary, Freire uses his conclusion to summarize
and connect his essay, like most writers, but what sets him apart is his demand for
change in learning from the reader by dehumanizing the banking education style and
suggesting an educational revolution.

Building Houses For Needy Families
My grandfather gave me a hammer and nails as a small child and encouraged me
to build whatever I wanted, which began my love for building and working with
my hands. This is why I was immediately attracted to the idea of building houses for
needy families through Habitat for Humanity. Habitat for Humanity ( Habitat ) is
a non profit organization that helps build homes for people who can t afford a
home on their own. Habitat for Humanity believes in building hope, building
homes and building better futures ( Habitat Cleveland County ). Habitat partners
with volunteers who share the same goals of helping others create better
communities around the world. The goal is to help families have a place they can
call home. Habitat for Humanity is an international organization that was created
by Millard and Linda Fuller in 1976 ( The History ). Millard was struggling in his
life with what was important to him, which is what lead him to search for a greater
purpose. Therefore, Millard and his family sold all of their possessions, donated
the money and moved to a Christian community called Koinonia Farm ( The
History ). This is where his Christian faith led him to start building homes for low
income people who were trying but couldn t quite afford to build a home of their
own. Millard and Koinonia Farm owner, Clarence Jordan, developed the idea of
providing housing to families with no profit and no interest loans. With his new idea
of partnership housing, Fuller and his

Literature of Japan

The Tale of Genji by Murasaki Shikibu deals heavily with Japanese religions and its
influence on Japanese society. Themes of jealousy, responsibility and guilt are also
mixed in with the religious themes. Religions and ideals clash through the course of
the novel. Shikibu focused on the two religions of Buddhism and Shinto. Buddhism
represents the modern day religion in the novel and Shinto is viewed as the old
religion. As the novel progress the readers start to see the fusion of the two religions.
Throughout the novel several people such as women and priests live their lives
according to the religion they choose to follow. This work of Japanese literature also

The Buddhist priests practice many different rituals and prayers such as the ones
for success and purification. They also practice exorcism which is associated
exclusively with Shinto. The two religions intertwined in Japanese society and in
the novel, but the character of Lady Rokujo was faced with a deep internal
struggle due to the fusion of the two religions. Lady Rokujo escorts her daughter to
a Shinto shrine. She begins to feel a sense of guilt and the conflict between two
religions manifests insides her. Rokujo began to view herself as a traitor to the faith
of Buddhism due to the fact she practiced under the beliefs of Shinto at a Shinto
shrine. In order for Lady Rokujo to solve this conflict, she felt she had no other
option but to become a nun for the Buddhist religion.
The theme of religion is very important in the novel and the roles of mysterious
spirits that can be found throughout the novel. The character of Lady Rokuju can
be used as a prime example for how spirits contribute to novel s plot and help it
progress. Her relationship with Genji goes on a downward spiral as the novel
progress; therefore she begins to have feelings which Genji finds unwanting. She
began to show distasteful feelings such as being ill tempered and difficult to deal
with. Genji becomes annonyed and tries to distance himself from this relationship by
forming a new relationship with a youthful female named Yugao. They soon have a
secret affair and Genji is dazzled
A Study On Student s Abilities
Design a Study
Teachers who have higher expectations of their student s abilities will have a higher
academic achievement as compared to teachers who have low expectations of their
students abilities. In this study, the independent variable is the expectation of the
teachers on their student s abilities, and the dependent variable is the student
achievements based upon the teacher expectations. The achievements can be
measured by monitoring classrooms in a high school setting for English class for one
year, with some classes having a teacher with high expectations, and other classes
having a teacher with low expectations. The achievements would be measured by a
preliminary assessment, test results, quarterly reports, and an end of year ... Show

The first limitation I came across was that the students themselves can determine their
academic achievements. For example they could be really good students who try
there hardest no matter what or there could be bad students who do not care if you
have high expectations or not. Secondly, the subject at hand can also have a big
influence. In this case the
subject is English because it is a requirement class. Therefore if the student enjoys
english they will do very well and achieve good things because they enjoy learning
about the subject. But if the student does not enjoy english they will not care to do
their best on their work and will do the minimum to just pass the class. Lastly, the
atmosphere they are in is also another thing that can influence the student. If they
are in an atmosphere where the whole class acts up and does not do their work they
will follow in those footsteps. However if they are surrounded by a mixture of people
who do their work or do not do their work they will choose to do what they think is
best.
Fear and Affiliation
In a previous study, a researcher decided to test if people who experience fear prefer

choice to stay together or alone will be measured, and the

Lab Report: Environmental Control of Sex Determination
Introduction
Ceratopteris richardii, known as a C fern has a lifecycle referred to as alteration of
generations, which consist of neither haploid nor diploid dominant. C ferns are
homospours plants which are important in that they can produce hermaphrioditic
gametophytes in order to be able to self fertilize. However, some of the
homospourous C ferns only produce male gametophytes .The life cycle of
Ceratopteris richardii starts as a diploid sporophyte which then, by meiosis, produces
haploid spores. These spores then undergo mitosis to produce a haploid gametophyte,
which can be either hermaphrodite( producing eggs and ... Show more content on

Results The graph of our results showed the percentage of male gametophytes
increasing and then leveling off (Figure 1). This was our trend because most of the
points followed this pattern, however; there was a potential outlier at point (68, 32.3).
The distribution of gametophytes on the culture plates varied. Plates A and F had
even distribution but were very crowed with gametophytes, while plates D and C
were evenly distributed but had less gametophytes. Plate E had clumping of
gametophytes in the top left corner and plate B had clumping the the bottom right
corner.
Figure 1. The relationship between the population density and the percentage of male
gametophytes.
Discussion
The prediction that the percentage of male gametophytes would increase as the
population density of the gametophytes increased, and the prediction that the
percentage of male gametophytes would decrease as the population density of the
gametophytes increased were not supported by our results. When the population
density was low, the percentage of male gametophytes was relatively low because
there would not be enough eggs to fertilize the sperm produced from both the
hermaphrodite, and the sperm produced by the male gametophyte. When the
population density was high, the percentage of male gametophytes was higher but
still less than fifty percent because of the same reasons. The data from our results did

environment in which people were in favor for innovative ideas. The nation had an

which also led to the country having excellent exports and a ready outlet for the
shipment of goods. As time went on, the Second Industrial Revolutioncame to be.

The EPA estimates Americans purchase nearly 3 billion batteries each year (D.,

by a battery is actually a result of chemical reactions and not mechanical motion.
Batteries are contained in nearly every common electronic device, ranging from
small devices like smartphones to larger scale products like automobiles, and
chemistry is the driving force behind the function of these batteries.Batteries consist
of galvanic cells that carry out the production and storage of electrical energy from

Different types of these battery cells have the ability to be rechargeable, permitting
the application of this technology in electric powered hybrid automobiles and other
electronically powered devices. Simplifying the schematics, a battery is comprised of
at least one galvanic cell, which contains two or more half cells, a reduction cell and
an oxidation cell. The electrode and electrolyte solution are contained in the half cells,
and the chemical reactions in the two half cells provide the energy for the galvanic
cell operations (Chieh). The two electrodes, or battery terminals, produce electricity
through a series of electromagnetic reactions between the anode, cathode, and
electrolyte (Marshall, Charles, Clint, 2000). Two or more electrically charged atoms
/molecules, known as ions, from the electrolyte bond with the anode (negative
terminal) in the oxidation reaction. This produces a compound, where one or more
electrons are then released. Simultaneously, the cathode substance (positive terminal),
ions, and free electrons also combine into compounds during the reduction reaction
with the cathode. Basically, the cathode or positive terminal of the battery is
absorbing the electrons produced from the anode or negative terminal, creating
electricity. Therefore, electrons flow from anode to cathode (AUS e TUTE, 2017),
and electrical energy is

What Is History Essay. 009 Essay Example How To Write History Thatsnotus

  • 1. What Is History Essay Crafting an essay on the subject of "What Is History" is no small feat. It requires delving into the intricate realms of historiography, grappling with diverse perspectives, and navigating the ever- evolving debates within the field. The difficulty arises not only from the vast expanse of historical knowledge but also from the nuanced nature of the topic itself. Attempting to define the essence of history demands a careful examination of various theories, methodologies, and philosophical underpinnings that have shaped the discipline over centuries. The complexity lies in striking a balance between presenting a comprehensive overview and delving into the specifics that give history its multifaceted character. Moreover, one must confront the challenge of addressing the dynamic nature of historical interpretation. History is not a static entity; it evolves as new evidence surfaces and societal perspectives shift. Articulating this dynamism while maintaining clarity and coherence can be a daunting task. The research process for such an essay involves navigating a labyrinth of historical narratives, primary sources, and secondary literature. It demands a discerning eye to distinguish between reliable accounts and biased narratives, as well as an ability to synthesize disparate viewpoints into a coherent and convincing argument. Furthermore, the essay must engage with the broader implications of understanding history. Questions about the relevance of history in contemporary society, its impact on collective memory, and the ethical considerations inherent in historical representation add layers of complexity to the task. In conclusion, composing an essay on the topic of "What Is History" necessitates a rigorous exploration of the subject matter, a nuanced understanding of historiographical debates, and the ability to communicate these complexities in a clear and compelling manner. It is a challenging endeavor that requires both scholarly diligence and a thoughtful approach to the inherent complexities of the topic. • 2. The Moral Of Kings That Can Improve Our Means The Moral Of Kings That Can Improve our Means When I was in middle school and was just beginning to get involved with Volleyball in a general P.E. class, my friends and I had begun playing every day. At the time the school I was attending was just a Fine Arts Academy and had not began the process of making in Varsity sports teams. This lead to my friends and I, trying desperately to convince the dean into letting us start a Varsity level team. This was highly unlikely considering it was the first year the school was being opened and the district was still working on the funding for all of the different programs the school had to offer. The dean eventually made a deal with us and said if we were to start a sports team club and raise the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The more we can think of morals from different fables, the more we can strengthen our society. We have been known as an age that does not incorporate deep thoughts as well as an age that is unsuccessful within making our own decisions. Thinking of a moral like this is where we begin to make our change. By incorporating the not involved leader and not accepting the cruel leader. This generation has the power to make a change whether it is for the better or the worse. The more we change how we think of certain situations the less it will take for our futures to be enlightened. Fables have morals that can be heavily touched upon in society. Such stories like The Frogs Desiring a King, gives a background to how politics could and should work. The moral of this particular fable deals with the cruelty between leaders. I see this as modern example of the 2016 Presidential debate and the future in which Obama leaves office and if Trump gets elected president after. I feel the arguments about Obama will die down once society realizes that he was not that bad of a commander and chief compared to others in our modern day society. There were many reactions that The Frogs Desiring a King, had given me. The main one was that this could be, or would be how I could relate this to my society today. This reaction partially came from my recent involvement in politics and how I have become interested in who
  • 3. The Censorship Of The Journalism Breaking news just in.......... this is just one of the everyday things in the hectic world of journalism. People often downplay the significance of this huge task. Journalism allows people to know everything happening all around the world. It also allows questions that would otherwise be awkward to ask to be answered. It offers informative facts and often the whole truth to everyone out there. Without journalism the government would probably be in control of everything and fellow citizens would ignorant of the happenings around them. One of the roles in journalism is the journalist. Not only was he a journalist he was also a publisher and printer. He was rather successful in this area and it could be due to the fact that he would be neutral on subjects and scrutinize all sides of an issue and several perspectives on those issues would be published. He completely understood the meaning of the freedom of the press, and he wouldn t limit the information he knows to the people in America. A reporter is another essential position in journalism. A reporter is the one who watches and pictures the events in great detail in order to inform viewers. They have to state their own views and also the facts of the things they are covering. This job includes having to gather the news and present it in a certain amount of time. • 4. Case Study Chipotle Chipotle has been a successful company in the United States ever since Steve Ells launched the business in 1993. The business started in Colorado and has since has expanded and grown to be successful to restaurants all over the U.S. Since it has been so successful in the U.S, it is likely that it can be profitable in other nations around the world. However, there are certain rules, regulations and implications that Chipotle needs to explore before the business expands into global markets. Many businesses jump to the conclusion of thinking that if a company can be successful in one area, that it can be just as successful in another. Before making this assumption, businesses need to expand on potential challenges that they might encounter
  • 5. Communication Reflection Analysis Quietly standing in a museum, you examine a written document or other artifact. It may seem like just a piece of paper or a cool item to look at from hundreds of years ago, but you aren t just looking at it. You re having a conversation with it. Not everyone will realize it, but there are conversations to be had with these items, carried through time so that we might learn from them today. This was the image painted by Dr. Beth Henschen, who works in the Political Science Department at EMU. This event was one of several of the lectures from the Courageous Conversations series beneath Star Lectures, held at the Honors College auditorium on September 19th, and beginning at 7:00 pm. After attending this event, I can now explain my stance about the power and importance of conversations, and the lasting impact they can have. When I hear the word conversation, I frequently picture relaxed settings where people speak casually. Conversation was separate from debate, arguments, and other forms of communication, simply because I was never taught to connect any of them. What Dr. Henschen explained is that conversation covers a much broader variety of speaking and can also include a more important and professional type of speaking. Not only did I learn about the different types of speaking that the word conversation encompasses, but I also learned about the power and influence of conversations, specifically linked to the constitution, as well as in everyday life. • 6. Jean Vygotsky Vs Piaget How do children think and how do they learn? These questions could possibly be answered by exploring the psychological perspective. The cognitive developmental theory seeks to describe how knowledge is obtained in addition to the construction of thought processes. The first individual who proposed a methodical cognitive developmental theory was Jean Piaget, however, there are many other theories pertaining to cognitive development, for instance, those of Lev Vygotsky. Piaget developmental approach derived from a self supporting, biological perspective, whereas Vygotsky s approach acquired social and environmental factors. Despite the differences or strengths and weaknesses, both made astonishing cognitive applications to child development. Jean William Fritz Piaget, also known as Jean Piaget was born on August 9, 1896, in Neuchatel, Switzerland; born to Rebecca Jackson and Arthur Piaget; both of which had a major impact on Piaget s life. Piaget s father was a medieval literary scholar with an interest in local history. Piaget idolized his father s dedication to work and adopted his skeptical, scientific attitude at an early age. However, Piaget often described his mother as neurotic or poor in mental health combined with her religious enthusiasm which lead Piaget to become enticed with psychology. Unfortunately, Piaget grew up quite fast but had various interests. From age seven to ten, he became interested in mechanics, birds, seashells, and fossils of secondary
  • 7. Cynthia Ozick Analysis Throughout all of history, human beings have been storytellers. Humans have always sought to explain the unknown, understand themselves and the world around them, and connect through myth, story, and gossip. This transcendent nature of mythology proves it is much more than mere stories. Humans tell stories because they yearn to order the world to their lives. The real distinction between humans and other animals is not simply intelligence or reason, but the ability to share our stories. They uniquely connect all of humanexistence to act as a group in order to be more than just individuals. Humans desire connection as much as they desire order, and myth unites these primal desires. Cynthia Ozick explains the unity between the desires in her... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Ozick describes that stories proliferate in their scores of languages, out of continents leafy or arid, out of furious histories and agitated moral persuasions. Myths have existed and exist all over the world, in various languages, and with different motives. Yet, every myth plays an important role in any specific culture by connecting its members. Every myth includes symbols and lessons that give worth to human existence and connects all humans, or humans of a specific culture, to a transcendent order that lets them act as a people. Contrary to popular belief, myth and history do not oppose each other, but are linked together. Myth dates back thousands of years and permeates through all of human existence, and yet the stories still hold true. For example, in the Myth of Daedalus and Icarus, Icarus disobeys his father, flies to close to the sun and meets his demise. (Ovid) Although this story was written thousands of years ago, little boys still constantly disobey their father s wishes. In addition, Daedalus has a love for invention and progress. (Ovid) Current societies are obsessed with the progression of invention and technology. Furthermore, in Brueghel s painting Fall of Icarus, man s ignorance toward suffering is represented by the unfazed Sheppard and fishermen. This lack of compassion from humans still astonishingly true today. Humans have become increasingly desensitized to human suffering because of the constant war, tragedy, and hardships in everyday
  • 8. Emotional Intelligence For Biologists By Dr. Paulette Laubsch Abstract: This paper is based on the seminar topic Emotional Intelligence for Biologists by Dr. Paulette Laubsch. Emotional Intelligence is the capacity to understand one s feelings or others feelings. This differs from general intelligence because it is a step further than taking known information and interpreting it to make it useful; it is using emotions to make information beneficial and useful. The following paragraphs will explore emotional intelligenceand how it affects people s decision making and sociability with others. Dr. Laubsch described the hierarchy of happiness, noting how everyone requires their basic needs to be met in order to be happy and content. She also mentioned ways to be emotionally intelligent, i.e. knowing when to deliver bad news (not on a Friday), knowing who s vulnerable and who s not, and knowing how to read body language. Lastly, she discussed empathy and how feeling for someone can impact emotional intelligence. In order to properly understand emotional intelligence, more research must be done. Many psychologists conducted experiments to explore how one s capacity for emotional intelligence can affect the way they work with others, especially in the health field. Materials and Methods: One of the studies conducted was in Malaysian public hospitals. Emotional intelligence was studied among nurses to see how it impacted caring behavior. This was done by using a cross sectional survey and administering it to five hundred and fifty nurses and using structured equation modeling to analyze the data (Kaur 2015). Another study sought to examine the relationship between self rated and performance measures of emotional intelligence by using tools such as the Self Rated Emotional Intelligence scale (Bracket et al. 2006). This type of test (SREIS), along with the Mayer Salovey Caruso Emotional Intelligence Test (MSCEIT),

He has contributed to many creative ideas and also helped create the Pushpin. Glaser was educated in three very prestigious schools, High School of Music and Art and the Cooper Union art school in New York and, via a Fulbright Scholarship, the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna, Italy. Milton Glaser played with the aspect of figuring out what is art and how can you define something that has many different meanings. He wrote that art is whatever (Milton Glaser, TED) and then he discovered that art has mystery that shadows history. He had such a difficult time to try to visualize painting but he did his best and started a series of them, a series of variations. Rhetorical Analysis Of Hockey By Franlin Kaernick Summary: In the wake of Colin Kaepernick s decision not to stand during the playing of the United State national anthem, a ripple effect has been felt throughout the world of sports the past week. Kaepernick s actions have caused reactions both in support and in condemnation from professional sports athletes, the military, police, and President Barack Obama. With the World Cup of Hockey taking place, a notable name from the sport has taken an opportunity to add his opinion to the controversial issue. It was not in favor of Kaepernick s stance on social justice. Dark Alliance By Gary Webb Dark Alliance GARY Webb book review In the book Dark Alliance by Gary Webb, is about the conspiracy of how the CIA had monitored the selling of crack cocaine in America to help fund the Nicaraguan contras secretly. And also during this process the Nicaraguan drugs were being sold to inner cities to create a drug known as crack that harmed the black population drastically. The ending of the movie symbolized peace in my opinion. Despite the disease, Jeffery put inside her and her conflicting facial expression, Dorothy can go back to living her normal, American dream. The primal scene is focused on Jeffery coming of age. Many times throughout the movie, sexualized scenes are shown. A specific scene was at the beginning of the movie when Jeffery s dad begins to have a stroke while watering the grass. As he falls, the nozzle of the garden hose is right where his crotch is. According to Professor McBride, this is necessary for the dog to continuously pound on him as it instinctively barks at and bites the streaming water. This scene and set up shows how animalistic these attacks are. During this scene, a young child sees this animalistic outbreak, which relates back to a Freudian assumption. Since this film has the Freudian sensation right at the beginning, it makes it obvious that this film will be an erotic one. Something else that was important in the primal scene was Lynch first provides this child witnessing a perplexing violent attack as a

We shall identify statistical tools and methods to collect data and also analyze data to determine the appropriate decision for the identified problem in A CAT CORP forecasting. There are many statistical tools that you can use to perform analysis on the A CAT Corporation. One of the tools to use is Mean; it will help in getting the average sale of voltage regulators per year and be used for comparison purpose. Standard deviation will be used to measure the spread/dispersion of data around the mean. A measure of spread gives us an idea of how well the mean, for example represents the data (Lund Research, 2013). Finally the co efficient of variation will be used for comparison of variation since it s more convenient than the others. Another key statistical tool for the analysis of the data is Excel. The category of data provided in this given case study is under the historical data category. The reason because it contains history tables for reporting or analysis purposes. The relationship between this type of data and the tools is that the table containing sales for the last few years gives the set of numbers required by the statistical tools for comparison purpose. Results are used to identify the sales trend. The co efficient of variation is the most important tool since it is more convenient compared to the standard deviation. It is used for comparison of variation. The lower the co efficient of variation, the smaller the residuals relative to the predicted value

It was right after I joined the gang. I had to prove myself to everybody in the Outfit, and especially Al Capone himself. I was given a special task: to persuade a businessman named Carl to buy more of our alcohol so he could sell it in his bar. Everyone made it seem like a simple enough task, so I did not worry too much. The man s neighborhood was deserted. No one in sight and no one in ear shot. This was familiar; it reminded me of my own neighborhood. I knew the kind of amount of fear felt to clear the roads when gangsters were coming. The thought of the fear in those people s minds; so much fear, they decided to hide away in their homes and practically lock their business doors; sent chills up and down my entire being, especially because I have known that fear all too well. After taking the derivative, the P = ВЅ MC + 3560. However, due to the shape of the graph and its poor fit to the linear regression, I split the data in two portions. According to the market analysis, the more price sensitive (MAS) end of the market is the largest segment and a price of $4400 produces the largest UCM (Exhibit 1.) I repeated the regression again with prices from $3750 to $5000 only. The trend line is now a much closer fit than previously and the new derivative equation is P = ВЅ MC + 2895. Furthermore, changing the flag will not alter the national pride within Australians as they fought for the country, not for the flag. It is well known in Australian history that the Aboriginal people were first inhabitants of Australia before Captain Arthur Phillip and the first fleet. Clearly indicating that aspects of the Indigenous culture should be included in the Australia flag to acknowledge their prior ownership of the land. In an attempt to crush forces seeking independence for East Pakistan, the West Pakistani military regime unleashed an efficient campaign of mass murder which aimed at killing millions of Bengalis, and succeeded in doing so. For the bloodbath in March December 1971 when the Pakistani army executed a largely unarmed Bengali population in the then vital part of Pakistan s state known as East Pakistan , in an effort to suppress the region s demand for independence was at the time the biggest story in the world s media. BACKGROUND INFORMATION Before 1971, Bangladesh was divided into two regions; both with opposing political power. Although East Pakistan (Bangladesh) withheld the larger population between the two provinces, it acquired much less political dominance than West Pakistan. Through the power and representation of leader Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, East Pakistan rebelled. Rahman, leader of political party The Awami League demanded more powers both politically and economically. This struggle finally cumulated into the war of independence for East Pakistan. CAUSE OF THE GENOCIDE In the 1971 national elections, The Awami League, led by Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, had a major success, winning 160 seats as well as majority of the national assembly. The Relationship between Sensitivity to Reward and Punishment and Eating Behaviours Courtney Andrews Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology University Abstract A study involving 252 participants undergoing the course Biological Psychology was carried out in order to examine the correlation between sensitivity to reward (SP), Body Mass Index (BMI), weight and more frequent consumption of unhealthy fast foods, (e.g., high in fat and sugar). The core results showed the participants found that sensitivity to reward was strongly negatively correlated with BMI and weight. However, both these correlations are not statistically significant at the 95% confidence level. Alongside this finding, sensitivity to reward was positively correlated with unhealthy fast foods, which leads to more frequent consumption of fatty and sugar rich foods. These values were also not statistically significant. This research needs to consider gender balance inequality, environmental cues such the accessibility of fast food (e.g., the amount and distance these restaurants are from their home residence) and one time collection of data used. Rick Adam, a successful entrepreneur that has a passion for flying, established the company in the year 1993. Rick Adam identified a need in the market through analysis and research by various means. His passion for flying was fueled by his father that served in the US Air Force. Pilots and computer engineers socially surrounded Rick, which gave him an insight to knowing what the customer needed. At first Ricks, biggest fear was that if the jets his company produced were not to be certified by the Federal Aviation Authority (FAA), because the more time it took the FAA to certify a plane the more costs and bills Rick had had to pay. Due to the limited financial capability of the company, it was bound to fail if Goldman sachs; Ricks previous partner did not intervene and provide the necessary capital needed to fund to company until it launched its products. The company s costs were on going and high mainly because most the workforce included very experienced managers and marketers on the top management level and for the technical part, they were all highly paid engineers, which also worked overtime paid shifts of 21 hours a week. Having mentioned earlier the tight schedule and the high costs as a challenge and a problem, I would like to continue with the problems that involved the over seeing and analyses of the market that was performed by Rick. I believe the management team was very optimistic in terms of forecasting success. Even though the products offered to the market created a huge buzz but was everyone that praised the aircrafts going to eventually but the products? No. I also believe that Rick and his management team were blinded by their passion for planes to properly position and launch their products. They could have created a more solid strategy in terms of the launching and exposing of the product to the public.
  • 36. The Pros And Cons Of Epigenetics What makes one individual different from the other? Many have attempted to answer this question from ancient philosophers and theologists to modern day scientists. Regardless of whether the individual concerned is a cell or a whole organism, the answer is said to lie in the nature vs. nurture debate. Thus arose another, related question How do individuals with extremely similar blueprints develop an astounding amount of differences? Biological research attempting to settle the debate for once and for all has found that differences amongst a cohort of individuals is established by an interplay of both genetics (nature) and various environmental influences (nurture). Secondly, the subject at hand can also have a big influence. In this case the subject is English because it is a requirement class. Therefore if the student enjoys english they will do very well and achieve good things because they enjoy learning about the subject. But if the student does not enjoy english they will not care to do their best on their work and will do the minimum to just pass the class. Lastly, the atmosphere they are in is also another thing that can influence the student. C ferns are homospours plants which are important in that they can produce hermaphrioditic gametophytes in order to be able to self fertilize. However, some of the homospourous C ferns only produce male gametophytes .The life cycle of Ceratopteris richardii starts as a diploid sporophyte which then, by meiosis, produces haploid spores. Batteries are contained in nearly every common electronic device, ranging from small devices like smartphones to larger scale products like automobiles, and chemistry is the driving force behind the function of these batteries.Batteries consist of galvanic cells that carry out the production and storage of electrical energy from chemical reactions. The chemical reactions going on inside of the battery are between the oxidant and reductant of Copper and Zincmetals in there Copper Zinc Voltaic... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Different types of these battery cells have the ability to be rechargeable, permitting the application of this technology in electric powered hybrid automobiles and other electronically powered devices. Simplifying the schematics, a battery is comprised of at least one galvanic cell, which contains two or more half cells, a reduction cell and an oxidation cell. The electrode and electrolyte solution are contained in the half cells, and the chemical reactions in the two half cells provide the energy for the galvanic cell operations (Chieh). The two electrodes, or battery terminals, produce electricity through a series of electromagnetic reactions between the anode, cathode, and electrolyte (Marshall, Charles, Clint, 2000). Two or more electrically charged atoms /molecules, known as ions, from the electrolyte bond with the anode (negative terminal) in the oxidation reaction. This produces a compound, where one or more electrons are then released. Simultaneously, the cathode substance (positive terminal), ions, and free electrons also combine into compounds during the reduction reaction with the cathode. Basically, the cathode or positive terminal of the battery is absorbing the electrons produced from the anode or negative terminal, creating electricity. Therefore, electrons flow from anode to cathode (AUS e TUTE, 2017), and electrical energy is
