Dual Credit Course
This semester taking English dual credit I believe that not only my writing skills have improved but
my reading skills as well. Through this course I have learned how to find the deeper meanings of other
author s writings. I learned that part of understanding and comprehending comes from being able to
analyze. By learning how to analyze my skills as a writer have improved because I am able to use
some of the other writers skills and techniques on my own paper. Overall this course has helped me
tremendously. When comparing the other dual credit course I took last year to this course I would
have to say that the difficulty of both courses is similar even though the courses are very different.
One reason that made the other dual credit course I took which was U.S. History seem more ... Show

This year with the assignments being due on mainly Sundays it has helped substantially, I am now
able to submit the work because my Sundays are not as busy. A reason for this class being harder is
because this course was a more time demanding, but I think it may be all English classes. The reason
for it being more time consuming is because in my other classes it was mostly just answering multiple
choice questions while this course is more breaking down components which takes a lot more thinking
which take sup more time. One big advantage of this course for me was that there were no test. I am
not a very good test taker because I think too much and sometimes get anxiety. This has affected me in
other classes because my bad testing skills results in bad grade on test which leads to the outcome of
my grades falling. With there not being any test, the stress that I would get is not there anymore. I am
able to write freely and not have anxiety and stress myself out. Another aspect of this course I believe
was helpful was the peer

It s Time To Reduce Food Waste In Sub-Saharan Africa
Introduction
In Sub Saharan Africa 30% of the population are starving, but in many first world countries ⅓ of all
food produced is wasted before it can be eaten. If the amount of food waste is not reduced Earth will
be unable to support the estimated population growth. Food waste has become a larger problem in the
United States due to over portioning and the mishandling of food, but this problem can be reduced or
even eliminated through making consumers aware of reducing food waste and properly handling the
food they do waste. Transition
Description of Problem Not only does food waste lead to starvation in other parts of the world, but it
also wastes resources, When we throw away food, we re wasting all the natural resources that go into

While it doesn t have a perfect answer there are simple changes that can be made to reduce food
waste, Cutting down on food waste across the country is a challenge because losses happen at every
stage of the supply chain, experts say. The problem starts on farms with excess crops. It extends to
supersized restaurant portions, grocery stores quick turnover, and Americans tendency to overbuy. To
keep produce from farms from going directly to the trash, there has to be an increased focus on quality
of produce rather than appearance, Another top contributor to food waste in the U.S. is farms, says
Bloom. Agricultural producers regularly leave misshapen vegetables and discolored fruits to rot on the
ground. Why? The food industry has strict standards for produce s shape, size, and color. Harvesting
fruits and vegetables that don t meet those standards can be financially draining for farmers. Pickers
skip over other crops if they suspect the produce will no longer be at peak freshness by the time it
reaches stores. For food that does end up wasted there are ways for people to dispose of it differently.
One way that keeps food out of landfills is composting, Composting is an alternative to disposing of
food in a landfill. Certain elements of foods can be turned into compost to feed and nourish the soil,
helping to cultivate new growth. Park and recreation agencies, like those in Lansing, Michigan, have
utilized composting bins to re purpose the food for their community gardens. This provides the
additional benefit of educating youth about the process of how food is grown. Finally consumer have
to take it upon themselves to only buy what they will eat and to use all leftovers instead of tossing
them into the

Peter Paul Rubens ( 1577-1640 )
Peter Paul Rubens (1577 1640) painted The Raising of the Cross in 1609 1610, when he was about the
age of the martyred Christ. Until 1794, this colossal work (central panel: 460 x 340 cm, side panels:
460 x 150 cm) was part of the high altar of the St. Walburgis Church, which was later demolished. The
painting was once taken away by the emperor when Napoleon ruled France. However, the painting
was returned to Antwerp in 1815, and it is located in the Our Lady s Cathedral since 1816.
The whirling strength, the impelling dynamism that characterize this masterpiece full of drama and
pathos are striking. Nevertheless the whole presentation appears coherent and balanced. The grunting,
pushing, pulling, and lifting from the men to raise the cross showed great strength, movement, and
endurance to perform the task that caused Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews to ask Almighty God to
forgive them due to lack of knowledge.
Brief Biographical
Peter Paul Rubens (June 28, 1577 May 30, 1640) was a prolific seventeenth century Flemish Baroque
painter, and a proponent of an exuberant Baroque style that emphasized movement, color, and
sensuality. (1) He is born in Siegen, Westphalia in Germany. He and his brother were sent to a Latin
school in Antwerp. Due to lack of money, Rubens mother withdrew him from school in 1590 and sent
him as a page to the Countess of Lalaing at the age of 13. She needed the extra money to pay a dowry
for his sister. Although his job was very prestigious,

Essay On Dc Motors
ABSTRACT Brushless permanent magnet DC motors are being manufactured and used increasingly
in everything from home appliances to automobiles due to their inherent advantages. The merits of
these motors could be enhanced further according to another design approach method which alters the
typically used winding parts for low to medium power range motors. This paper deals with the high
power brushless DC motor used for traction in a 48 V golf cart system. The stator is designed with
segment rectangular copper winding to maximize output power within its limited dimensions. In the
design process, the closed slot opening and slot pole combination are investigated and compared in
terms of efficiency and input current density. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With no windings on the rotor, they are not subjected to centrifugal forces, and because the windings
are supported by the housing, they can be cooled by conduction, requiring no airflow inside the motor
for cooling. This in turn means that the motor s internals can be entirely enclosed and protected from
dirt or other foreign matter. Brushless motor commutation can be implemented in software using a
microcontroller or computer, or may alternatively be implemented in analogue hardware or digital
firmware using an FPGA. Commutation with electronics instead of brushes allows for greater
flexibility and capabilities not available with brushed DC motors, including speed limiting, micro
stepped operation for slow and/or fine motion control, and a holding torque when stationary. 3.
COGGING TORQUE: Cogging torque of electrical motors is the torque due to the interaction
between the permanent magnets of the rotor and the statorslots of a Permanent Magnet (PM) machine.
It is also known as detent or no current torque. This torque is position dependent and its periodicity
per revolution depends on the number of magnetic poles and the number of teeth on the stator.
Cogging torque is an undesirable component for

Being a twin has been nothing short of ordinary. I have never been treated as normal. The first
question I get asked when I meet people is always about being a twin. Oh you are a twin? Have you
ever switched classes with one another? How is it like being a twin? are just some of the questions I
am barraged with. While the questions may not seem harmful, to me they are extremely annoying and
almost insulting. It shows that they do not care about who I am, but rather who we are. It is a painful
realisation to know that some of the people who I know are only my friend because I am a twin. It isn

Summary Of War Of The Rats
War of the Rats The Battle of Stalingrad, perhaps the single most critical and certainly one of the
bloodiest battles of World War II, is a great setting for a historical fiction story. His story centers on a
duel to the death between two men: Chief Master Sgt. Vasily Zaitsev, sniper, one of the best of the
Russian army, and a German SS colonel named Heinz Thorvald, the Nazis greatest marksman. When
Russian snipers led by Zaitsev begin to take a demoralizing toll of German troops, picking them off
like hunters shooting bears, the high command in Berlin dispatches Thorvald to the battlefield with
orders to accomplish a single task: kill Zaitsev. A deadly contest ensues, with Robbins skillfully
building up each of his protagonists as so deadly in their murderous crafts as to make them feared as a
person and well liked as a reader. It is not David versus Goliath, but Hercules versus Zeus, the manly
conflict of two equally matched and equally remorseless adversaries. The story moreover is based,
Robbins writes in the introduction, on two real historical figures, though it is unclear whether the real
Zaitsev and Thorvald engaged in the kind of duel described in War of the Rats. Robbins opens with a
German lieutenant named Hofstetter who makes the mistake of tilting his head back to drink from a
canteen and is dropped by a single shot from a distant rifle. We, then, meet his killer, the Russian
Zaitsev, who, before World War II, was a hunter on the Siberian taiga, instructed

Had I taken the time to consider all stakeholders, appreciate the value of their knowledge, and involve
them in design and implementation of innovations, there may have been a more positive environment
for change, and enhanced ownership and sustainability of any new initiatives. We have no choice but
to invite people into the process of rethinking, redesigning, restructuring the organization. We ignore
people s need to participate at our own peril. If they re involved, they will create a future that already
has them in it. We won t have to engage in the impossible and exhausting tasks of selling them the
solution, getting them to enroll, or figuring out the incentives that might bribe them into compliant
behaviours. [Wheatley et al, 1996] Following these incidents I established a forum for all OPD staff
members to discuss issues which they felt required change and that would impact the operation of the
department. There was a two way communication stream between this group and my subgroup, with
different members attending the meetings and feeding back each week. Increased involvement of all
staff in the development of change made them feel more appreciated by the organisation. This

John Rawls’A Theory of Justice Essay
John Rawls A Theory of Justice holds that rational, mutually disinterested individuals, in the Original
Position and given the task of establishing societal rules to maximise their own happiness throughout
life, are liable to choose as principles of societal justice a) guaranteed fundamental liberties and b) the
nullification of social and economic disparities by universal equality of opportunities, which are to be
of greatest benefit to the least advantaged members of society , . Rawls system of societal cbfgdbre for
the maintenance of fundamental liberties, equality of opportunity and support for the disadvantaged is

It also stimulates competition rational individuals will naturally want more primary goods for
themselves , and will be willing to compete for these. This is vital to a healthy economy because it
prevents stagnating monopolization by individuals.
One weakness in Rawls theory is his assumption that the individual in the Original Position will think
conservatively. Realistically, the individual is supposedly more likely to risk a slightly worse worst
case scenario for a markedly better best case scenario (similar to the large numbers of individuals who
gamble money in hope of winning more) . The individual may choose to dismiss the Difference
Principle in favour of a riskier, but more beneficial principle for example, that the rich get richer .
Rawls argues that the individual will adopt conservatism to ensure that all parties may pursue their
own ends irrespective of (dis)advantages, simply because of their arbitrary placement in society. It
may also be plausibly argued that the gravity of the situations differs, and that when charged with the
creation of a society, one is more likely to act conservatively because the dGBgbGGBecision carries
potentially negative, far reaching ramifications.
It is similarly asserted that Rawls Maximin Principle may eliminate beneficial inequalities . For
example, should the annual income of two people be $100,000 each, this would be a less

Cooperative Learning in Mathematics Essay
Cooperative Learning in Mathematics
There have recently been many new trends towards the use of cooperative learning in many
classrooms, particularly in mathematics classrooms. Cooperative learning involves students working
together to accomplish shared goals. In this type of situation, students must feel they can only reach
their learning goals if the other students in their group also reach their own learning goals. Students
have to understand their achievements are interrelated. Cooperative learning helps students to fully
understand the mathematical concepts and assists them in developing social skills that will take them
through life.
There are different methods of teaching, in addition to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Many teachers believe that just having students work together constitutes as cooperative learning. Yet,
there are many other characteristics that make up cooperative learning. According to Cooperative
Learning in Mathematics , by Roza Leiken and Orit Zaslavski, there are four conditions that make up
cooperative learning:
Students learn in small groups with two to six members in a group.
The learning tasks in which students are engaged require that the students mutually and positively
depend on one another and on the group s work as a whole.
The learning environment offers all members of the group an equal opportunity to interact with one
another regarding the learning tasks and encourages them to communicate their ideas in various ways,
for example, verbally.
Each member of the group has a responsibility to contribute to the group work and is accountable for
the learning process of the group (240 241).
One method of ensuring all students are working is called Random Reporting. In Random Reporting,
the teacher randomly picks a group member to present the group s finding to the class. In this
situation, each group member must understand their group work in case they are called on to present.
This also enables every student to communicate their ideas and be accountable for the work.

Disadvantages And Disadvantages Of Deep Water Running
Introduction
This technical report will analyse existing evaluations of deep water running whilst also exploring the
advantages and disadvantages of deep water running.
Deep Water Running or Aqua Running is the replication of a running style where the subject is
submerged up to the neck in water and is unable to touch the ground (Masumoto et al 2017). It is used
by elite athletes in a variety of situations: as a rehabilitation technique, allowing the athlete to maintain
their cardiovascular fitness whilst injured, as a form of active recovery, increasing heart rate helping to
increase blood flow to muscles, and also in addition to a regular training programme, allowing more
cardiovascular training without excess strain on joints and muscles from the impact forces of running.
A flotation belt is normally used to carry out deep water training in order to copy the style used by the
runner on land (Kilgore).
The use of deep water running is advantageous to an athlete, less pressure is placed upon their joints
and spine allowing them to increase training volume without increasing the risk of injury. Meanwhile
the recovery process from the athletes major training sessions can also be sped up by deep water
running allowing the athlete to train under less fatigue in future sessions.
Deep water running can however provide some disadvantages to an athlete who uses it. To achieve the
same benefits from a training session they must work at a greater perceived effort. The use of deep

End Human Trafficking Intervention Plan Paper
Assessment of the Problem
Human trafficking is the form of modern day slavery and it is a worldwide problem that affects our
local communities. Human trafficking presents itself in two forms: sex trafficking and labor
trafficking. Human trafficking touches people of all ages: children, young adults, and the elderly.
Human trafficking is defined as, the recruitment, transportation, transfer, harboring or receipt of
persons, by means of threat of use of force or other forms of coercion, or abduction, (Lightfoot, p.1,
2013). According to the San José Police Department there are approximately 600,000 to 800,000
people that are trafficked across international borders each year. Out those 800,000 people it is
estimated that 18,000 to 20,000 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He also states that government agrees that human trafficking is a problem, however, only about 15
million dollars has been invested over the past seven years. Acosta states that the tools needed are
there, but there is a lack of will in the political power, not enough public awareness, and that there are
not enough resources.
On a statewide level in California there are task forces assigned to combat human trafficking. In San
José, California the task force assigned to fight against human trafficking is the San José Police
Department and Community Solutions. There are other agencies such as the YWCA that collaborate
with law enforcement, legal advocates and pro bono attorneys, victim service providers, faith
communities and community activists. The most common human trafficking in the South Bay is
Commercially Sexually Exploited Children, although sex trafficking of women and labor trafficking
still occur.
Community efforts include the Not for Sale campaign that provides awareness and resources for
victims and at risk individuals. There is also currently a conference that is going to be held through
FIGHT (What does this stand for?). The primary purpose of the conference is to motivate the
community and local churches to get involved to fight against human trafficking. The conference will
focus on education, creating positive change, abuse prevention programs for local

How Animation Can Bring The Dullest Of The Features And...
Introduction
In a sense Animation can bring the dullest of the features and bring it to life. It s like magic that gives
the most seemingly inanimate objects different kind of emotions and vitality. Animation made its way
to the Multimedia as one of the most attractive and much sought component over the years.
What is animation? To animate means to impart motion on something that cannot. Animation also
adds the essence of time, which increases the possibility of sending the desired information. Animator
need to specify how the thing they are animating move through time and space.
Decades ago when CGI doesn t exist animators were hand drawing plates for animated films and
cartoons, or relying on stop motion to create realistic effect. The birth of 3D animation was a long
process and cost billions and time to develop. Director of Avatar James Cameron waited around 20
years until 3D animation has advance before starting filming Avatar in 2009.

Samuel shows little feelings for his wife Elizabeth throughout his diary. As both extracts show his

very rare that marriages were made for reasons of love and compassion. Elizabeth however was

life changing experience. Not everyone can say that they got to perform in four different countries
across Europe or that they have even been to Europe. From sightseeing in London to performing in the
mountains of Switzerland there was never a dull moment in our limited time there. It was amazing
how different each city is from each other and the cultural differences we experienced. No matter how
different each city was, however there was always at least this one thing in common; their passion for
music. Our journey first started in the busy city of London, England. After landing, we set off to the
village of Windsor to see the Windsor ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Tower of London has always played a prominent role in the English s history. Controlling the
Tower has always been important to controlling the country because of it s position on the River
Thames. Because it is so important it has been besieged several times. There is also a group of at least
six ravens that reside in the Tower of London. The ravens in the tower are there due to a popular
superstition that if the Tower of London ravens are lost or fly away, the Crown will fall and Britain
with it . Some of the ravens were even bred in Somerset specifically for the tower. The bird s flight
feathers on one wing are clipped so that they cannot fly away. That same day we visited Buckingham
Palace to watch the changing of the guard. The changing of the guard is a colorful ceremony where
the sentries are relieved and replaced by a new batch of sentries. The ceremony is done every Monday,
Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday between January and March. Buckingham Palace was built in 1703
and originally built for the Duke of Buckingham and was called the Buckingham House. In 1761,
King George III acquired the house and made it a private residence for Queen Charlotte and was from
then on known as The Queen s House. It was enlarged twice in the 19th century and then once more in
the 20th century. The next place we visited was the Westminster Abbey. The Westminster Abbey is a

China s Foot Binding During The Tang Dynasty
What Is Foot Binding?
Foot binding is a process used by all women during the Tang Dynasty. Women did this to show their
high status and rank. This was a sign of beauty. Like most beauty, it came with a lot of pain.
Why Did It Start?
During the Tang Dynasty, Emperor Li Yu was one of the emperors. His favorite dancer wore strips of
cloth wrapped around her feet. She did this to make her dancing look more beautiful and graceful. It
was like ballerina feet almost, perfectly curved and pointed. Because Emperor Li Yu adored her feet so
much, he had other court maidens wrap their feet. This practice spread to women all around China no
matter their rank.
What Made It So Dangerous?
The original idea seems harmless, but as the tradition spread, the process became more gruesome. At
the start, all they would do is wrap their feet, but not tighten them daily. Women wanted to make their
feet tinier and pointier. They wanted their feet to be more curved and doll like. As a result, they
decided to create a process in order to get their feet down to the splendid length of 3 inches.
What Was That Process? ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
First, they soaked their feet in water. After they removed dead skin and trimmed the toenails as short
as possible, they would sprinkle alum between the toes to stop any perspiration. Next, they would soak
the bandages they were going to use to bind in water. This made the bandages shrink as they dried.
They broke the four small toes and folded them under the foot of the girl. After that they kept the big
toe and ball of the foot normal but tried to move the heel towards the front of the foot. During the
process of tying the bandages onto the foot, the bones in the foot would break. To keep the girl from
ripping off the bandages, they would sew the bandages as much as needed. Finally, small shoes were
placed on her feet and she was forced to walk

What Are The Causes Of The October Crisis
Terror arose in Quebec, 1970, when the kidnapping of James Cross by the Front de libération du
Québec caused the October Crisis. It further strained the relationship between Quebec and the rest of
Canada. The majority of those outside of Quebec disregarded the crisis despite the panic that arose in
Quebec. Even when Quebec s Minister of Labour was assassinated, justice was not achieved. Isolating
Québec was the Front de libération du Québec s main goal causing half of Quebec s population to
want to be separate from Canada. However, he first hints of strain caused by the October crisis
appeared when those who were not Québécois ignored the crisis importance.

Romanticism In The Awakening
Romanticism can be characterized by its emphasis on emotion and individualism as well as
glorification of all the past and nature. There was a strong recourse to historical and natural
inevitability, a Zeitgeist, in the representation of its ideas. That there is this spirit that All people aim
for freedom and most fall short to reach their ultimate goal of total freedom. I will argue that Edna
Pontellier and Hegel are trying to find freedom during their era, but are unable to reach it. In The
Awakening, by Kate Chopin, we find our main character Edna who has this longing for freedom and
no matter what she tries she feels trapped in a society that she feels intrudes on her freedom. During
this time in age, Edna is expected to perform her domestic duties and care for the health and happiness
of her family. In this time of the Zeitgeist, victorian women were prevented from seeking the
satisfaction of their own wants and needs. During Edna s gradual awakening, she discovers her own
identity and acknowledges her emotions and desires actually are. The water symbolizes freedom,
escape, independence. Edna s awakening truly begins in the water, because this is where she learned
how to swim. This was something she has always previously been afraid of and after this incident, her
mind begins to turn with new possibilities of independence and the future. As she swam, she seemed
to be reaching out for the unlimited in which to lose herself (Chopin, p. 32). This event in her life

The Pursuit Of Happiness In Willa Cather s My Antonia
Happiness is many things to different people. People have referred to the pursuit of happiness for
hundreds of years. In the book, My Antonia by Willa Cather, the main character, Jim Burden, quotes
happiness as ...to be dissolved into something complete and great. When it comes to one, it comes as
naturally as sleep. Antonia Shimerda, the person who impacted Jim s life directly and indirectly for all
of his life would view happiness in a different way. Jim feels the way he does about happiness because
he has led a fairly charmed life. Even though he became an orphan and had to move to Nebraska to be
raised by his grandparents, Jim had many privileges and support from them growing up and he tended
to be able to set his sights on what he wanted and go after it with success. Antonia, in contrast, even
with her wonderful soul, great strength and ability to keep moving forward with a positive attitude,
had to fight hard for every bit of happiness that came her way. Antonia says to Jim, Things will be
easy for you. But they will be hard for us. She and Jim had drifted apart some after her father
committed suicide. She and Jim were sitting together watching an electrical storm on top of the
chicken house and Jim asked her why she had changed. It was clear that Antonia could see that Jim
had a promising future ahead because he was going to school and she was trapped having to take care
of her family and wouldn t be able to go to school. Another major heartbreak came for Antonia

Deaf Perceptions Of The Deaf
Deaf Perceptions of Animacy
Deaf culture has long been misunderstood and misrepresented within America, in part due to the
significant language barrier between the American Deaf and their hearing counterparts. Though it is
often thought to be nothing more than an elevated form of charades, American Sign Language (ASL)
is a language like any other not only with its own grammatical syntax, phonology, and morphology,
but also in its compliance to the Sapir Whorf hypothesis. Created by Edward Sapir and Benjamin Lee
Whorf, the hypothesis exists in two degrees: weak and strong. The former claims that language shapes
our thoughts, and thus our culture, while the latter version claims that language not only shapes our
thoughts and our culture, it creates them. Though there is debate surrounding the degree to which the
hypothesis extends, it is undoubtable that it is applicable to Deaf culture and its use of ASL as a first
language in prelingually Deaf individuals. Using the Sapir Whorf hypothesis as its theoretical
framework, this research proposes to investigate how the absence of copular verbs within ASL shapes
Deaf perception of animacy and how such perceptions manifest within Deaf culture.
Language was long thought to be a passageway passagewayfor thought; a go between that allowed
one to translate their pre existing ideas into a communicable form via sounds, writing, and gesture
(Cultural Encounters). However, this understanding shifted upon the introduction of the Sapir Whorf

Keats Keatsian or even the Keats are some of the names used to refer to the poet John Keats. The
reason for this are profound and without question. He is and was a great poet and literary influence of
the nineteenth century. I have will be terming him as the greatest poet of all time. However before we

Family Memory Essay
Of all the memories that I have with my family on vacation, the memory that is worth telling is the
time I went to Atlanta, Georgia. I was about four or five years old and was still attending Preschool. I
remember it as if it was yesterday. It was spring break and my family decided to rent a van out and
travel down to see my aunt Cherie. There was my mother, grandmother, my aunt and her two
daughters Yasmine and Imani and I. We left early in the morning on Good Friday so we could beat
some of the traffic. I slept for about the first three hours of the ride and I wo being surrounded by trees
and the open road. Everyone in the car is talking making jokes as my aunt was driving. As we are
getting more than halfway there, my mother starts to feel nauseous and told my aunt to pull the car
over. Further along in the drive as we are getting closer to Georgia, my mom tells my aunt pulls the
van over and she crawls to the door and starts throwing up. Everyone was so confused because she
was just fine before that. She finishes throwing up and then we continued to drive down the road and
then my cousin Imani begins to start to feel nauseous. My aunt pulls over at the next rest stop so
everyone can just freshen up and get their bodily functions together. We then continued the drive
down to Georgia and at this point, we are around north or south Carolina so we are in the home
stretch. Next thing you know, I start to feel nauseous and start to burp leaving a sour taste in my
mouth. The

Fictitious Statistical Analysis Of Cloud Computing Essay
Introduction
This paper will present a fictitious statistical analysis of cloud computing, and the number of security
issues encountered by a variety of organization types. The fictitious organizations were surveyed to
collect data on the number of software and hardware applications outsourced to the cloud, and the
number of security issues encountered.
According to (Whitman and Mattord, 2012), information Security is the protection of the lifeblood of
the organization its information. Specifically it is the protection of the confidentiality, integrity and
availability of that information and the systems that store, process and transmit it, (Whitman and
Mattord, 2012). Information Security is at the forefront of organizational concern with cloud
computing. A major organizational concern is will the cloud service provider be able to secure and
protect its data. Although this concern is imminent, many organizations have made the decision to
move data storage and services to the cloud. The concern is primarily due to cost benefits such as
overhead costs of maintaining software and hardware on site.
The survey used in this study was used to investigate whether or not organizations may need to
reconsider the cost benefits opposed to the number of security breaches. The specific types of
applications (e.g., HR applications, financial applications, Servers) and the specific types of security
breaches (student biographical, personnel data, financial data) will be

An Efficient Implementation Of Finite Impulse Response...
Abstract
With improvements in capacity and performance and a decrease in cost, FPGAs have become a viable
solution for making custom chips and programmable DSP devices. This paper presents an efficient
implementation of Finite Impulse Response Filter (FIR) using Distributed Arithmetic (DA)
architecture based on FPGA with the help of xilinx system generator software. Here, the multipliers in
FIR filter are replaced with multiplierless DA based technique to remove high frequency
Electrocardiogram(EMG) noise from ECG signal. As digital filters plays very significant role in the
analysis of the low frequency components in Electrocardiogram (ECG) signal. The ECG is susceptible
to noise and it is essential to remove the noise in order to support any decision making for specialist
and automatic heart disorder diagnosis systems. We purposed that the signals under experiment has
been added with muscle noise and after applying different FIR method, the signals according to signal
noise ratio (SNR) and MSE(mean square error) are evaluated. It introduces an effective technique for
the denoising of ECG signals corrupted by High frequency muscles contraction noise. The
performances of the system were evaluated using the Massachusetts Institute of Technology
University and Beth Israel Hospital (MIT BIH) database. Muscle noise is taken from MIT BIH noise
stress database .Simulation results shows that High frequency EMG noise from ECG was removed
effectively by using FIR low pass filter.

The United States And United Kingdom Affect Global Businesses
Throughout the semester we have touched on a multitude of different issues in Global Business. From
monetary systems and how they have changed over time, to how different regions of the world have
produced diverse cultural preferences. Even after touching on as interesting topics as these, nothing
has come close to the intrigue of Government and how they can affect business in many ways. The
many different ways that government can intervene in a business, affect import/export numbers via
taxation, and much more will be discussed in the following paragraphs. The underlying question that
this paper will answer is, how do the actions of the United States and United Kingdom affect global

The deal also sought to protect intellectual property, establish dispute resolution mechanisms, and,
through side agreements, implement labor and environmental safeguards. As one can clearly see here,
this agreement helped not only these three nations out greatly on the economic end of the spectrum,
but it also helped get employee and environmental safety standards to be consistent across the three
nations. This trade agreement helped greatly improve economic disputes that these countries once
faced before. NAFTA has affected the countries in different ways. The United States has come out
alright, but many sceptics believe that the trade, overall, has had modest but positive impacts on the
US GDP, and has added up to $80 billion dollars to the US economy. While the boost in GDP and
increase in US economy was boosted a bit in this trade agreement, it has not been all positives for the
nation. A lot of jobs in the United States have been lost due to companies opting to start up in Mexico
because of cheaper labor costs. An example of how big this swing has been, and just how much it has
affected the US can be seen when looking at the trade balance. In 1993 the US Mexico trade balance
swung from a 1.7 billion dollar U.S. surplus in 1993 to a %54 billion dollar deficit by 2014. So as one
can see right there, while this trade deal may have added money into the economy, it has severely
affected how businesses have taken a hit due to US

Essay about The Changing of American Families
The Changing of American Families
Television reflects how American families are viewed. Leave it to Beaver and
The Brady Bunch were the ideal families in the 1960 s and 1970 s, and in the 80 s, it was Family Ties.
When the 1990 s approached us, television shows took on a whole new outlook on American Families.
There were shows such as Full House, which was about a single father raising three daughters with the
help of his brother in law and his best friend. Roseanne was also another show that showed the
dysfunctional side of families. American Families keep changing, and they will continue to change in
our future.
Topics such as the changes in family logistics are important to be informed about in this day and age.

More and more women were pushed into the work force. The 1960 s and 1970 s became an era of
diversity and identity politics as a host of others sought recognition and liberation from the constraints
of discriminatory laws, social policies, and negative stereotypes (Erera 354). As more women were
entering the work force, they were becoming financially independent and were able to live on their
own. This led to many women who were unhappy in their marriage to divorce their husbands and raise
their children on their own. As more and more women became financially independent, the more
appealing single life became to them. Soon women all over were adopting and fostering children, and
many also decided to give birth while still remaining single. With the increasing numbers and
visibility of single parent, step, and adoptive families, the gay liberation movement opened the way
for the emergence of gay and lesbian families (Erera 355). Gay and lesbian families were starting to
become more common as the seventies had passed.
The eighties and nineties were a time when everyone was arguing over what a family really was. Erera
states Voices on the right blames changes in the family for a wide range of social problems, while
voices on the left look to the family to provide the basis for a more communitarian society (Erera
356). People were starting to blame the increase of family diversity to almost anything they could.

North Dallas Forty vs. Any Given Sunday Essay example
Any Given Sunday and North Dallas Forty, made over 25 years apart, are two of the most famous
football movies ever made. Both of these movies focus on an examination of American values as seen
through the lens of a professional sport, both on and off the field. Any Given Sunday and North Dallas
Forty do indeed have many striking similarities. Furthermore, it seems that both movies try to give a
detailed depiction on the corporate mentality of modern day professional football; while at the same
time, still working to deliver a traditional, likeable sports flick. Though there is a large time gap
between the two films, they have similar messages and much in common.

Both films focus on characters struggling to stay successful in professional football and deal with
pressures off the field. In North Dallas Forty, Phil Elliott is in such terrible shape, so in order to get
through a game, it requires drugs, tape, and much padding. He is only able to compete in games when
he is hopped up on painkillers, which are conveniently provided to him by management. His cynicism
and independent spirit is looked upon as troublesome by team coaches. Eventually, the Bulls
management team benches Elliot after manipulating him to help train a fellow teammate. Many
similar things happen in Any Given Sunday. Cap Rooney, an older quarterback struggles to succeed,
as the new owner balks at renewing his contract. However, unlike Elliot, Rooney s coach fights for his
spot on the team and wants him to play for the Sharks. Unfortunately, he ends up getting hurt and is
replaced by a third string rookie quarterback. Just as management in North Dallas Forty gives away
drugs, the doctor in Any Given Sunday also saw nothing wrong with administering drugs to assist
players in making sure they got on the field no matter what.
Both movies demonstrate the fact that the game of football has changed from a true sport into a
business. In its own way, each film shows the passing of older generations and

Teaching Experiences With Phonics And How They...
Article one, teachers give their account on their teaching experiences with phonics and how they
incorporated a culturally relevant curriculum. A third grade teacher who taught history was teaching
the basic information about different cultures than the actual culture from their perspectives. Another
teacher taught more on inferential teaching, relating what we know and experienced in our own life.
One of the teachers taught phonics by making a personal alphabet book with the help of the parents
using letters that the child was familiar with or liked. The personalized picture book was similar but
the student used different types of material to make their book. The book represented and depicted
who they are as a student. Last lesson was the morning circle where students were able to use their
native language to greet others and talk about themselves. Article two, starts off discussing what,
explicit systematic phonics instruction means (Mesmer, H. E., Griffith, P. L., 2005, p. 366). Everyone
has own interpretation of that phrase which needs to be correctly defined. The phonics instruction has
two separate meanings both are teaching encoding and decoding of sounds. It also very important
because the phonograms is part of the English language. The students use phonics to by corresponding
sound to letters, spelling, and understanding the meaning of the words. Explicit and systematic
phonics originated before 1900 but both were used together after 1900 to teach phonics. That

when Ender defeats the Giant in the game by scratching his eyes out, he realizes that he is doing it

The Effects Of Antidepressant Pills On Teenagers And...
Jacqueline Mendez
Mrs. Kehrmeyer
AP English
9 February 2016
Teenagers and Antidepressants In recent discussions of antidepressant pills a controversial issue has
been whether doctors should prescribe antidepressants to teenagers. Antidepressant pills are prescribed
to
individuals who suffer from a condition called Major Depression Disorder, labeled MDD for
abbreviation. Major Depressive Disorder is a mental disorder characterized by a pervasive and
persistent low mood that is accompanied by low self esteem and by loss of interest or pleasure in
normally enjoyable activities. The objectives of antidepressant pills are to stabilize, and
normalize the abnormal low levels of brain chemicals for those who suffer from MDD. On the
other hand, some argue that antidepressants are harmful and do a disadvantage to teenagers,
therefore should not be prescribed to them. However, others argue that the pills are not harmful
and in some cases the strong need of antidepressants outweigh the risks the pills might provide.
Antidepressants prevent teenagers from recuperating on their own and prevents them from
learning how to cope with conflicts thus, they should not be prescribed.
Depression results in symptoms such as sadness, it affects a person s emotions and leads
to both emotional and physical problems. The antidepressant pills are meant to help the brain
recuperate and adjust to normality. The reason why people reconsider taking the pills in the first
place is

A Visit At The Museum Of Fine Arts
Museum Assignment On November 8th, 2016 I took a trip to the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston,
Massachusetts, to conduct research on different kinds of art. When I got there I went straight to The
Ancient World exhibit to find a piece of artwork that I found fascinating. The moment I took a step
through those giant glass doors, I saw the Colossal Statue of King Menkaura. This vast piece of
artwork had so much history and detail from one particular era, it was almost breathtaking. As I
continued on through The Ancient World exhibit there were many works of art that stood out to me.
However it wasn t until I reached the Greek Mythology portion of the museum when I really found the
piece that literally made me gasp. The sculpture of Cupid (Eros) was exactly the type of artwork I was
hoping to discover. The sculpture of Cupid (Eros) was simple, yet it also had a complex composition
to it.
The Colossal Statue of King Menkaura was built around 2,490 B.C and is the largest statue from the
pyramid age. This piece of artwork fits into the category of an An image or object related to a ruler,

of the 4th dynasty during the Old Kingdom period, and was the creator of the three pyramids in Giza.

Dispositional, Evolutionary And Evolutionary Theory
Dispositional, and Evolutionary Theory Nicholas DeRico PSY/405 August 24, 2015 Dispositional,
Biological and Evolutionary Theory Abstract There are many theories that attempt to clarify the
structures that influence personality, for example dispositional, and Evolutionary theory. This paper
will discuss the differences that are among dispositional and evolutionary personality theories, as well
as, strengths and limitations of dispositional and evolutionary and biological personality theories their
bearing on human behavior. Furthermore, the Big Five personality test and what technique is used to
study personality. Difference Facets relating Dispositional, and Evolutionary Theory The premises of
dispositional theories fluctuate from those of other theorists because they present the basis of study for
personality; Dispositional theorists believe that behavior is significant and adaptive. People don t
merely adapt to their environments, but are also aware of their environment and relate to it, in order to
shape their social environment (Feist, 2013). Dispositional theory argues that personality is not an
unchanging structure, but unpredictable because of our psychological and physical originalities.
Allport describes personality as a dynamic organization present in all humans which influence one s
psychophysical structures and determines their characteristic behavior and cognitive functions (Feist,
2013). Dispositional theories are mutually diverse relating to

The Marketing Principles of Fruit Winder Essay
The Marketing Principles of Fruit Winder
There are 5 main principles of marketing. They are
* Understanding customer needs.
* Co ordinating functions to achieve marketing aims.
* Adopting a marketing approach.
* Effective customer communications.
* Constraints.
UNDERSTANDING CUSTOMER NEEDS Kellogg s need to identify and understand the needs of
both their existing customers, as well as any new potential customers. They will need to adapt their
marketing approach to meet the need of these customers. If companies continually review all aspects

There must also be well defined lines of communication with other departments throughout the
company.
As Kellogg s is a large organisation, they have a separate marketing department. It will co ordinate
activities with the other departments of the business so that each marketing task will be met. For
example, the marketing department will have to work with the Finance function to organise the funds
available, and the funds needed to carry out any marketing activities. They will also need to work with
the Human Resources department to provide the correct number of properly trained staff necessary to
complete the different tasks required.
ADOPTING A MARKETING APPROACH There are two main marketing approaches that businesses
use; Product Oriented and Customer Oriented. The product oriented approach focuses on the product
and not the market. It does not take into consideration the views/opinions of the customers. The
company may believe that their product is the best on the market, seeing no need for further changes
or improvements. However, following the product oriented approach can lead to the downfall of a
company, particularly if they are functioning in a highly competitive and rapidly changing market. The
customer oriented approach involves a company being in a constant state of development;

  • 2. Dual Credit Course This semester taking English dual credit I believe that not only my writing skills have improved but my reading skills as well. Through this course I have learned how to find the deeper meanings of other author s writings. I learned that part of understanding and comprehending comes from being able to analyze. By learning how to analyze my skills as a writer have improved because I am able to use some of the other writers skills and techniques on my own paper. Overall this course has helped me tremendously. When comparing the other dual credit course I took last year to this course I would have to say that the difficulty of both courses is similar even though the courses are very different. One reason that made the other dual credit course I took which was U.S. History seem more ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This year with the assignments being due on mainly Sundays it has helped substantially, I am now able to submit the work because my Sundays are not as busy. A reason for this class being harder is because this course was a more time demanding, but I think it may be all English classes. The reason for it being more time consuming is because in my other classes it was mostly just answering multiple choice questions while this course is more breaking down components which takes a lot more thinking which take sup more time. One big advantage of this course for me was that there were no test. I am not a very good test taker because I think too much and sometimes get anxiety. This has affected me in other classes because my bad testing skills results in bad grade on test which leads to the outcome of my grades falling. With there not being any test, the stress that I would get is not there anymore. I am able to write freely and not have anxiety and stress myself out. Another aspect of this course I believe was helpful was the peer ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. It s Time To Reduce Food Waste In Sub-Saharan Africa Introduction In Sub Saharan Africa 30% of the population are starving, but in many first world countries ⅓ of all food produced is wasted before it can be eaten. If the amount of food waste is not reduced Earth will be unable to support the estimated population growth. Food waste has become a larger problem in the United States due to over portioning and the mishandling of food, but this problem can be reduced or even eliminated through making consumers aware of reducing food waste and properly handling the food they do waste. Transition Description of Problem Not only does food waste lead to starvation in other parts of the world, but it also wastes resources, When we throw away food, we re wasting all the natural resources that go into ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... While it doesn t have a perfect answer there are simple changes that can be made to reduce food waste, Cutting down on food waste across the country is a challenge because losses happen at every stage of the supply chain, experts say. The problem starts on farms with excess crops. It extends to supersized restaurant portions, grocery stores quick turnover, and Americans tendency to overbuy. To keep produce from farms from going directly to the trash, there has to be an increased focus on quality of produce rather than appearance, Another top contributor to food waste in the U.S. is farms, says Bloom. Agricultural producers regularly leave misshapen vegetables and discolored fruits to rot on the ground. Why? The food industry has strict standards for produce s shape, size, and color. Harvesting fruits and vegetables that don t meet those standards can be financially draining for farmers. Pickers skip over other crops if they suspect the produce will no longer be at peak freshness by the time it reaches stores. For food that does end up wasted there are ways for people to dispose of it differently. One way that keeps food out of landfills is composting, Composting is an alternative to disposing of food in a landfill. Certain elements of foods can be turned into compost to feed and nourish the soil, helping to cultivate new growth. Park and recreation agencies, like those in Lansing, Michigan, have utilized composting bins to re purpose the food for their community gardens. This provides the additional benefit of educating youth about the process of how food is grown. Finally consumer have to take it upon themselves to only buy what they will eat and to use all leftovers instead of tossing them into the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Peter Paul Rubens ( 1577-1640 ) Peter Paul Rubens (1577 1640) painted The Raising of the Cross in 1609 1610, when he was about the age of the martyred Christ. Until 1794, this colossal work (central panel: 460 x 340 cm, side panels: 460 x 150 cm) was part of the high altar of the St. Walburgis Church, which was later demolished. The painting was once taken away by the emperor when Napoleon ruled France. However, the painting was returned to Antwerp in 1815, and it is located in the Our Lady s Cathedral since 1816. The whirling strength, the impelling dynamism that characterize this masterpiece full of drama and pathos are striking. Nevertheless the whole presentation appears coherent and balanced. The grunting, pushing, pulling, and lifting from the men to raise the cross showed great strength, movement, and endurance to perform the task that caused Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews to ask Almighty God to forgive them due to lack of knowledge. Brief Biographical Peter Paul Rubens (June 28, 1577 May 30, 1640) was a prolific seventeenth century Flemish Baroque painter, and a proponent of an exuberant Baroque style that emphasized movement, color, and sensuality. (1) He is born in Siegen, Westphalia in Germany. He and his brother were sent to a Latin school in Antwerp. Due to lack of money, Rubens mother withdrew him from school in 1590 and sent him as a page to the Countess of Lalaing at the age of 13. She needed the extra money to pay a dowry for his sister. • 5. Essay On Dc Motors ABSTRACT Brushless permanent magnet DC motors are being manufactured and used increasingly in everything from home appliances to automobiles due to their inherent advantages. The merits of these motors could be enhanced further according to another design approach method which alters the typically used winding parts for low to medium power range motors. This paper deals with the high power brushless DC motor used for traction in a 48 V golf cart system. The stator is designed with segment rectangular copper winding to maximize output power within its limited dimensions. In the design process, the closed slot opening and slot pole combination are investigated and compared in terms of efficiency and input current density. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... With no windings on the rotor, they are not subjected to centrifugal forces, and because the windings are supported by the housing, they can be cooled by conduction, requiring no airflow inside the motor for cooling. This in turn means that the motor s internals can be entirely enclosed and protected from dirt or other foreign matter. Brushless motor commutation can be implemented in software using a microcontroller or computer, or may alternatively be implemented in analogue hardware or digital firmware using an FPGA. Commutation with electronics instead of brushes allows for greater flexibility and capabilities not available with brushed DC motors, including speed limiting, micro stepped operation for slow and/or fine motion control, and a holding torque when stationary. 3. COGGING TORQUE: Cogging torque of electrical motors is the torque due to the interaction between the permanent magnets of the rotor and the statorslots of a Permanent Magnet (PM) machine. It is also known as detent or no current torque. This torque is position dependent and its periodicity per revolution depends on the number of magnetic poles and the number of teeth on the stator. Cogging torque is an undesirable component for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Being A Twin Research Paper Being a twin has been nothing short of ordinary. I have never been treated as normal. The first question I get asked when I meet people is always about being a twin. Oh you are a twin? Have you ever switched classes with one another? How is it like being a twin? are just some of the questions I am barraged with. While the questions may not seem harmful, to me they are extremely annoying and almost insulting. It shows that they do not care about who I am, but rather who we are. It is a painful realisation to know that some of the people who I know are only my friend because I am a twin. It isn t just my social life that has taken the toll, but also my academic career. Throughout my schooling I have felt immense pressure from peers, teachers, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 8. Summary Of War Of The Rats War of the Rats The Battle of Stalingrad, perhaps the single most critical and certainly one of the bloodiest battles of World War II, is a great setting for a historical fiction story. His story centers on a duel to the death between two men: Chief Master Sgt. Vasily Zaitsev, sniper, one of the best of the Russian army, and a German SS colonel named Heinz Thorvald, the Nazis greatest marksman. When Russian snipers led by Zaitsev begin to take a demoralizing toll of German troops, picking them off like hunters shooting bears, the high command in Berlin dispatches Thorvald to the battlefield with orders to accomplish a single task: kill Zaitsev. A deadly contest ensues, with Robbins skillfully building up each of his protagonists as so deadly in their murderous crafts as to make them feared as a person and well liked as a reader. It is not David versus Goliath, but Hercules versus Zeus, the manly conflict of two equally matched and equally remorseless adversaries. The story moreover is based, Robbins writes in the introduction, on two real historical figures, though it is unclear whether the real Zaitsev and Thorvald engaged in the kind of duel described in War of the Rats. Robbins opens with a German lieutenant named Hofstetter who makes the mistake of tilting his head back to drink from a canteen and is dropped by a single shot from a distant rifle. One weakness in Rawls theory is his assumption that the individual in the Original Position will think conservatively. Realistically, the individual is supposedly more likely to risk a slightly worse worst case scenario for a markedly better best case scenario (similar to the large numbers of individuals who gamble money in hope of winning more) . The individual may choose to dismiss the Difference Principle in favour of a riskier, but more beneficial principle for example, that the rich get richer . Rawls argues that the individual will adopt conservatism to ensure that all parties may pursue their own ends irrespective of (dis)advantages, simply because of their arbitrary placement in society. It may also be plausibly argued that the gravity of the situations differs, and that when charged with the creation of a society, one is more likely to act conservatively because the dGBgbGGBecision carries potentially negative, far reaching ramifications. Yet, there are many other characteristics that make up cooperative learning. According to Cooperative Learning in Mathematics , by Roza Leiken and Orit Zaslavski, there are four conditions that make up cooperative learning: Students learn in small groups with two to six members in a group. The learning tasks in which students are engaged require that the students mutually and positively depend on one another and on the group s work as a whole. The learning environment offers all members of the group an equal opportunity to interact with one another regarding the learning tasks and encourages them to communicate their ideas in various ways, for example, verbally. Each member of the group has a responsibility to contribute to the group work and is accountable for the learning process of the group (240 241). One method of ensuring all students are working is called Random Reporting. In Random Reporting, the teacher randomly picks a group member to present the group s finding to the class. • 13. Disadvantages And Disadvantages Of Deep Water Running Introduction This technical report will analyse existing evaluations of deep water running whilst also exploring the advantages and disadvantages of deep water running. Deep Water Running or Aqua Running is the replication of a running style where the subject is submerged up to the neck in water and is unable to touch the ground (Masumoto et al 2017). It is used by elite athletes in a variety of situations: as a rehabilitation technique, allowing the athlete to maintain their cardiovascular fitness whilst injured, as a form of active recovery, increasing heart rate helping to increase blood flow to muscles, and also in addition to a regular training programme, allowing more cardiovascular training without excess strain on joints and muscles from the impact forces of running. A flotation belt is normally used to carry out deep water training in order to copy the style used by the runner on land (Kilgore). The use of deep water running is advantageous to an athlete, less pressure is placed upon their joints and spine allowing them to increase training volume without increasing the risk of injury. Meanwhile the recovery process from the athletes major training sessions can also be sped up by deep water running allowing the athlete to train under less fatigue in future sessions. Deep water running can however provide some disadvantages to an athlete who uses it. To achieve the same benefits from a training session they must work at a greater perceived effort. Deaf Perceptions Of The Deaf Deaf Perceptions of Animacy Deaf culture has long been misunderstood and misrepresented within America, in part due to the significant language barrier between the American Deaf and their hearing counterparts. Though it is often thought to be nothing more than an elevated form of charades, American Sign Language (ASL) is a language like any other not only with its own grammatical syntax, phonology, and morphology, but also in its compliance to the Sapir Whorf hypothesis. Created by Edward Sapir and Benjamin Lee Whorf, the hypothesis exists in two degrees: weak and strong. The former claims that language shapes our thoughts, and thus our culture, while the latter version claims that language not only shapes our thoughts and our culture, it creates them. Though there is debate surrounding the degree to which the hypothesis extends, it is undoubtable that it is applicable to Deaf culture and its use of ASL as a first language in prelingually Deaf individuals. Abstract With improvements in capacity and performance and a decrease in cost, FPGAs have become a viable solution for making custom chips and programmable DSP devices. This paper presents an efficient implementation of Finite Impulse Response Filter (FIR) using Distributed Arithmetic (DA) architecture based on FPGA with the help of xilinx system generator software. Here, the multipliers in FIR filter are replaced with multiplierless DA based technique to remove high frequency Electrocardiogram(EMG) noise from ECG signal. As digital filters plays very significant role in the analysis of the low frequency components in Electrocardiogram (ECG) signal. The ECG is susceptible to noise and it is essential to remove the noise in order to support any decision making for specialist and automatic heart disorder diagnosis systems. We purposed that the signals under experiment has been added with muscle noise and after applying different FIR method, the signals according to signal noise ratio (SNR) and MSE(mean square error) are evaluated. It introduces an effective technique for the denoising of ECG signals corrupted by High frequency muscles contraction noise. The performances of the system were evaluated using the Massachusetts Institute of Technology University and Beth Israel Hospital (MIT BIH) database. Muscle noise is taken from MIT BIH noise stress database .Simulation results shows that High frequency EMG noise from ECG was removed effectively by using FIR low pass filter. ... • 32. The United States And United Kingdom Affect Global Businesses Throughout the semester we have touched on a multitude of different issues in Global Business. From monetary systems and how they have changed over time, to how different regions of the world have produced diverse cultural preferences. Even after touching on as interesting topics as these, nothing has come close to the intrigue of Government and how they can affect business in many ways. The many different ways that government can intervene in a business, affect import/export numbers via taxation, and much more will be discussed in the following paragraphs. The underlying question that this paper will answer is, how do the actions of the United States and United Kingdom affect global businesses. The United States government is a ... The deal also sought to protect intellectual property, establish dispute resolution mechanisms, and, through side agreements, implement labor and environmental safeguards. As one can clearly see here, this agreement helped not only these three nations out greatly on the economic end of the spectrum, but it also helped get employee and environmental safety standards to be consistent across the three nations. This trade agreement helped greatly improve economic disputes that these countries once faced before. NAFTA has affected the countries in different ways. The United States has come out alright, but many sceptics believe that the trade, overall, has had modest but positive impacts on the US GDP, and has added up to $80 billion dollars to the US economy. While the boost in GDP and increase in US economy was boosted a bit in this trade agreement, it has not been all positives for the nation. A lot of jobs in the United States have been lost due to companies opting to start up in Mexico because of cheaper labor costs. An example of how big this swing has been, and just how much it has affected the US can be seen when looking at the trade balance. In 1993 the US Mexico trade balance swung from a 1.7 billion dollar U.S. surplus in 1993 to a %54 billion dollar deficit by 2014. So as one can see right there, while this trade deal may have added money into the economy, it has severely affected how businesses have taken a hit due to US ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 33. Essay about The Changing of American Families The Changing of American Families Television reflects how American families are viewed. Leave it to Beaver and The Brady Bunch were the ideal families in the 1960 s and 1970 s, and in the 80 s, it was Family Ties. When the 1990 s approached us, television shows took on a whole new outlook on American Families. There were shows such as Full House, which was about a single father raising three daughters with the help of his brother in law and his best friend. Roseanne was also another show that showed the dysfunctional side of families. American Families keep changing, and they will continue to change in our future. Topics such as the changes in family logistics are important to be informed about in this day and age. Therefore, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... More and more women were pushed into the work force. The 1960 s and 1970 s became an era of diversity and identity politics as a host of others sought recognition and liberation from the constraints of discriminatory laws, social policies, and negative stereotypes (Erera 354). As more women were entering the work force, they were becoming financially independent and were able to live on their own. This led to many women who were unhappy in their marriage to divorce their husbands and raise their children on their own. As more and more women became financially independent, the more appealing single life became to them. Soon women all over were adopting and fostering children, and many also decided to give birth while still remaining single. With the increasing numbers and visibility of single parent, step, and adoptive families, the gay liberation movement opened the way for the emergence of gay and lesbian families (Erera 355). Gay and lesbian families were starting to become more common as the seventies had passed. The eighties and nineties were a time when everyone was arguing over what a family really was. Erera states Voices on the right blames changes in the family for a wide range of social problems, while voices on the left look to the family to provide the basis for a more communitarian society (Erera 356). People were starting to blame the increase of family diversity to almost anything they could. From ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 34. North Dallas Forty vs. Any Given Sunday Essay example Any Given Sunday and North Dallas Forty, made over 25 years apart, are two of the most famous football movies ever made. Both of these movies focus on an examination of American values as seen through the lens of a professional sport, both on and off the field. Any Given Sunday and North Dallas Forty do indeed have many striking similarities. Furthermore, it seems that both movies try to give a detailed depiction on the corporate mentality of modern day professional football; while at the same time, still working to deliver a traditional, likeable sports flick. Though there is a large time gap between the two films, they have similar messages and much in common. In Any Given Sunday, Oliver Stone takes on professional football, a sport, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Both films focus on characters struggling to stay successful in professional football and deal with pressures off the field. In North Dallas Forty, Phil Elliott is in such terrible shape, so in order to get through a game, it requires drugs, tape, and much padding. He is only able to compete in games when he is hopped up on painkillers, which are conveniently provided to him by management. His cynicism and independent spirit is looked upon as troublesome by team coaches. Eventually, the Bulls management team benches Elliot after manipulating him to help train a fellow teammate. Many similar things happen in Any Given Sunday. Cap Rooney, an older quarterback struggles to succeed, as the new owner balks at renewing his contract. However, unlike Elliot, Rooney s coach fights for his spot on the team and wants him to play for the Sharks. Unfortunately, he ends up getting hurt and is replaced by a third string rookie quarterback. Just as management in North Dallas Forty gives away drugs, the doctor in Any Given Sunday also saw nothing wrong with administering drugs to assist players in making sure they got on the field no matter what. Both movies demonstrate the fact that the game of football has changed from a true sport into a business. In its own way, each film shows the passing of older generations and ... • 35. Teaching Experiences With Phonics And How They... Article one, teachers give their account on their teaching experiences with phonics and how they incorporated a culturally relevant curriculum. A third grade teacher who taught history was teaching the basic information about different cultures than the actual culture from their perspectives. Another teacher taught more on inferential teaching, relating what we know and experienced in our own life. One of the teachers taught phonics by making a personal alphabet book with the help of the parents using letters that the child was familiar with or liked. The personalized picture book was similar but the student used different types of material to make their book. The book represented and depicted who they are as a student. Last lesson was the morning circle where students were able to use their native language to greet others and talk about themselves. Article two, starts off discussing what, explicit systematic phonics instruction means (Mesmer, H. E., Griffith, P. L., 2005, p. 366). Everyone has own interpretation of that phrase which needs to be correctly defined. The phonics instruction has two separate meanings both are teaching encoding and decoding of sounds. It also very important because the phonograms is part of the English language. The students use phonics to by corresponding sound to letters, spelling, and understanding the meaning of the words. Explicit and systematic phonics originated before 1900 but both were used together after 1900 to teach phonics. That ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 37. The Effects Of Antidepressant Pills On Teenagers And... Jacqueline Mendez Mrs. Kehrmeyer AP English 9 February 2016 Teenagers and Antidepressants In recent discussions of antidepressant pills a controversial issue has been whether doctors should prescribe antidepressants to teenagers. Antidepressant pills are prescribed to individuals who suffer from a condition called Major Depression Disorder, labeled MDD for abbreviation. Major Depressive Disorder is a mental disorder characterized by a pervasive and persistent low mood that is accompanied by low self esteem and by loss of interest or pleasure in normally enjoyable activities. The objectives of antidepressant pills are to stabilize, and normalize the abnormal low levels of brain chemicals for those who suffer from MDD. On the other hand, some argue that antidepressants are harmful and do a disadvantage to teenagers, therefore should not be prescribed to them. However, others argue that the pills are not harmful and in some cases the strong need of antidepressants outweigh the risks the pills might provide. Antidepressants prevent teenagers from recuperating on their own and prevents them from learning how to cope with conflicts thus, they should not be prescribed. Depression results in symptoms such as sadness, it affects a person s emotions and leads to both emotional and physical problems. The antidepressant pills are meant to help the brain recuperate and adjust to normality. The reason why people reconsider taking the pills in the first place is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 38. A Visit At The Museum Of Fine Arts Museum Assignment On November 8th, 2016 I took a trip to the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, Massachusetts, to conduct research on different kinds of art. When I got there I went straight to The Ancient World exhibit to find a piece of artwork that I found fascinating. The moment I took a step through those giant glass doors, I saw the Colossal Statue of King Menkaura. This vast piece of artwork had so much history and detail from one particular era, it was almost breathtaking. As I continued on through The Ancient World exhibit there were many works of art that stood out to me. However it wasn t until I reached the Greek Mythology portion of the museum when I really found the piece that literally made me gasp. The sculpture of Cupid (Eros) was exactly the type of artwork I was hoping to discover. The sculpture of Cupid (Eros) was simple, yet it also had a complex composition to it. The Colossal Statue of King Menkaura was built around 2,490 B.C and is the largest statue from the pyramid age. This piece of artwork fits into the category of an An image or object related to a ruler, whether king, queen, emperor or other . King Menkaura fits into this catergory because he was a ruler of the 4th dynasty during the Old Kingdom period, and was the creator of the three pyramids in Giza. One pyramid which he built for himself, was the Pyramid of Menkaura. This Egyptian statue is made out of Travertine, which is a type of limestone that is deposited by mineral springs. When I ... Dispositional, Evolutionary And Evolutionary Theory Dispositional, and Evolutionary Theory Nicholas DeRico PSY/405 August 24, 2015 Dispositional, Biological and Evolutionary Theory Abstract There are many theories that attempt to clarify the structures that influence personality, for example dispositional, and Evolutionary theory. This paper will discuss the differences that are among dispositional and evolutionary personality theories, as well as, strengths and limitations of dispositional and evolutionary and biological personality theories their bearing on human behavior. Furthermore, the Big Five personality test and what technique is used to study personality. Difference Facets relating Dispositional, and Evolutionary Theory The premises of dispositional theories fluctuate from those of other theorists because they present the basis of study for personality; Dispositional theorists believe that behavior is significant and adaptive. People don t merely adapt to their environments, but are also aware of their environment and relate to it, in order to shape their social environment (Feist, 2013). Dispositional theory argues that personality is not an unchanging structure, but unpredictable because of our psychological and physical originalities. Allport describes personality as a dynamic organization present in all humans which influence one s psychophysical structures and determines their characteristic behavior and cognitive functions (Feist, 2013). Dispositional theories are mutually diverse relating to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

ADOPTING A MARKETING APPROACH There are two main marketing approaches that businesses use; Product Oriented and Customer Oriented. The product oriented approach focuses on the product and not the market. It does not take into consideration the views/opinions of the customers. The company may believe that their product is the best on the market, seeing no need for further changes or improvements.
