Production System Essay
Production systems What is a production system? An apparel production system is an integration of
material handling production process, personnel and the equipment that directs work flow and
generates finished products. Different types of production systems are Progressive bundle system
Unit production system Modular production system Each system requires an appropriate
management philosophy, materials handling methods, floor layout, and Employee training. Firms
may combine or adapt these systems to meet their specific production needs. Firms may use only

Large quantities of work in process are often characteristic of this type of production system. This
may lead to longer throughput time, poor quality concealed by bundles, large inventory, extra
handling, and difficulty in controlling inventory Unit production system A unit production system
(UPS) is a type of line layout that uses an overhead transporter system to move garment
components from work station to work station for Assembly [pic] Work flow of unit production
All the parts for a single garment are advanced through the production line together by means of a
hanging carrier that travels along an overhead conveyor. The overhead rail system consists of the
main conveyor and accumulating rails for each work station. The overhead conveyor operates
much like a railroad track. Carriers are moved along the main conveyor and switched to an
accumulating rail at the work station where an operation is to be performed. At the completion of
an operation the operator presses a button, and the carrier moves on to the next operation. Most unit
production systems are linked to a computer control center that routes and tracks production and
provides up to the minute data for management decisions. The automatic control of work flow sorts
work, balances the line, and reduces claims of favouritism in bundle distribution. Electronic data
collection provides payroll and inventory data, immediate tracking of styles, and costing and
performance data for prompt

The Issue Of Colonization On The United Nations
In the words spoken by Albert Einstein, Given the millions of billions of Earth like planets, life
elsewhere in the Universe without a doubt, does exist. In the vastness of the Universe we are not
alone. , he states, that without a doubt, life does exist somewhere other than Earth, and as
expected, he was correct. Recently, a new planet has been found, and it has been discovered that
this planet in particular is capable of sustaining life. Furthermore, the United Nations are in the
act of passing a legislation that allows them to annex and colonize this newly found planet.
However, this planet already contains living life forms of its own. The fact that this new planet
has its own living life forms is astonishing, but because it contains living life forms I am against
the U.N on their plans of colonization on this new planet. When incorporating our past mistakes
in history and comparing them to our future actions, the process and outcome of colonization on
both cases are particularly negative. Moreover, if we were to imperialize this planet the chances
of: cultural loss, death, and racism are high. Given the occasion that the U.N does indeed decide
to colonize this new planet, we would definitely not respect the new life form s culture, and will
most likely change their civilization to be more like us. British rule in India is a great example as
to why we should not colonize this new planet. For instance, because of British rule in India, new
machines replaced Indian

The Importance Of Logos In Writing
In every speech you hear, news article you read, and commercial you see rhetoric is being used.
Rhetoric is a technique used to try and persuade or please an audience. When writing, writers
always have to think about the subject of the situation, their audience, the occasion (place and
time), and the purpose or point that they are trying to get across. A key thing that writers focus
on is ethos, logos and pathos, all of these play a huge role in trying to convince the audience to
believe what the speaker believes or buy what they are selling. Ethos is trying to get the
audience to trust you or getting someone who the audience trusts, logos is using logic and reason
like numbers and graphs and statistics, ethos is going after the audience s emotions or beliefs to
make them feel more connected or understanding. With all this in mind, you have to know how
and when to use these different ways of persuasion because if you don t you will have an
inneffective piece of writing. When using your rhetorical devices correcting and you can persuade
someone, that is an effective piece of writing. Man Takes First Steps on the Moon is an example of
an effective piece of writing that persuades the public that Neil Armstronghad made the most
historic scientific achievement in the history of man. In this article it mentions former president
Nixon describing is as one of the greatest moments of our time. This example shows how
mentioning the President at the time can get trust from the

Art of Near East Royalties
Many people speculate on ancient artifacts with an eye towards its aesthetic value of contemporary
etic perspective. While most people are not professional anthropologists who would try to be an
anachronistic spectators of a so called unknown ancient society , the interesting historical and
cultural aspects are embedded within every art piece throughout the ancient world. The ancient near
east nations were characteristic in their own values just like any contemporary society, and they are
worth the discussion through various aspects such as cultural, ideological, and historical.
The first art piece called Ashurnasirpal II and a Winged Deity, discovered in Northern Iraq,
Nimrud, in 9th century BC opens our exhibition of ancient near east art. The presence of many
contents such as artistic canon, hierarchy of scale and composite view is most correspondent to
the characteristics of Old Kingdom period of Egyptian art. The subject depicted in the panel is
king Ashurnasirpal II on the left and the winged deity, god Ashur. In addition to details, hierarchy
of scale is used for clarification; both king and the winged deity fully occupies the entire panel in
absence of background features, and the deity is shown to be slightly taller than king Ashurnasirpal
ii, to clarify its identity. The hair, wings and clothes in both subjects are very much stylized, not
very naturalistic, with circular spots

My Hero Essay
Flames shot twenty feet into the air. Drums blared, guitars strum, and one tear escaped my eye.
This was the greatest experience of my life, I was finally getting to see my hero, Paul
McCartney. While most kids of the generation look up to the the likes of Justin Bieber, and
Ariana Grande, I differ. My hero has integrity, he stands up for what he believes in, even if it s
not a popular opinion. Even better is his ability to inspire, his lyrics and rhetoric make people
change for the better. A true hero has the ability to make people act, not by force, but because they
want to.
It is not easy to stand up for what one believes in when he is criticised by the public or media.
Being able to stand against the regular cultural norms and do what is right is a strong identifier of
integrity, and that is what Paul McCartney does. The greatest example of this was in the late 60 s,
when Paul was a Beatle. This was the stadium era, a time for concert goers that was ushered in by
The Beatles. The unfortunate piece of the however, was the fact that this era still involved
segregation. Paul and the Beatles would not stand for this tolerance, the most amazing piece to
keep in mind is that at the time they were just teenagers. They showed integrity when after hearing
that a concert of theirs would be segregated they released this statement We never play to
segregated audiences and we aren t going to start now. I d sooner lose our appearance money, it s
embarrassing to admit that these

The United States Of The World War II Essay
On December 7th, 1941, the United States of America was heaved into World War II after Japan
attacked the American naval convoy in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. The next day after the Japanese s
surprise attack, America and Great Britain both declared war on Japan. The Second World War was
histories greatest and most noteworthy armed conflict. It served as the environment for the current
arrangement of security and intellect, and for the postwar power stability that shaped the agenda
for the Cold War. World War II partook with around 50 allied nations, one of the most renowned
was The United Statesof America.3 The American industry provided almost two thirds of all of
the allied military equipment produced during the war, and because of this, in four years alone,
Americas industrial production doubled in size even with it already being the largest at the time.
After the attack, everyday living throughout the nation was considerably affected. Normal goods
such as food, gas, and clothing were rationed heavily.1 The communities created scrap metal
drives and changed the standard role of women in order to build necessary weaponries to win the
war.1 Even though America was experiencing great economic growth, undoubtedly this war and its
associated atrocities would have a death toll of around 50 million military and civilian peoples, in
the military deaths alone The United States of America lost 400,000.1 World War II not only
disturbed the economy of the United States, but it also

Societal Brain Functions
1.A) Skills Training: The primary motor cortex is made up of interconnected neural assemblies
(localized groups of neurons with similar inputs and outputs), that control movements in the fingers,
hands, and legs. This coordinated activation can then be made complex and lets us do multijoint
movements such as reaching. Before the study the theory was that during skills learning, the
connectivity between these neural assemblies change. These changes were viewed as differences in
cortical synapse numbers, synaptic strength, and the topography of stimulation evoked movement
representation. They did a study with adult rats to measure these changes while they do an obstacle
course. Some rats had to learn limb placement and posture control to finish a complex obstacle
course, and the others walked an unobstructed course. The rats that were required to learn limb
placement and posture control because of the complex obstacle course, showed increases in synapse
number within the motor cortex compare to the rats doing the simple obstacle. The synaptic
changes seen here are thought to show the changes in cortical circuitry that results in the
reorganization of the neural assemblies encoding movement. Therefore proving the theory correct.

For example rats were given free access for 30 days to run on a wheel. They had increased blood
flow and creation of new blood vessels (angiogenesis) in their motor cortex compared to the rats
with no wheel. These increases were not found in the frontal cortex or other subcortical areas, so
this means that these changes are specific to the areas activated by the training. This data lets us
know that exercise can create an increase in blood flow, growth but does not induce any amount of
changes in the cortical

Cultural Policy in Taiwan Essay
Cultural Policy in Taiwan
Taiwan has its own very special government system. On the central government level (relevant to
the federal government), there are both president and premier in the system. The National
Assembly is the representation of all citizens to the president, and the Legislative Assembly is to
the premier who is in charge of the Executive Yuan, the top administrative body of Taiwan. The
current National Assembly is in charge of the change of constitution laws, while the Legislative
Yuan makes all other laws.
The Council for Cultural Affairs reports directly to the Executive Yuan. It is one of the 17 Councils
that are under the governance the Executive Yuan, and it was founded on November 11, 1981. The
Council ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
All these above mentioned functions of the Council were conducted with a single Council body
and decided by the chairperson and the Board. The Council is also asked to promote Taiwanese
/Chinese culture internationally, and set up cultural divisions overseas. Although Taiwan is not a
very big place geographically, it does have a large population (about 230 million people). Keeping
all these functions in one body is not very keeping all the functions working effectively. As we
discussed in class, some of the functions in the Council s guideline can be separated to be mandates
for setting up separate department in a government (of any level), such as heritage preservation,
cultural administrative body and a separate granting agency, such as in Canada, on the federal level
of arts and culture, there are Department of Canadian Heritage, Ministry of Canadian Heritage, and
the a separate arts granting body, the Canada Council for the Arts. The Taiwanese Council for
Cultural Affairs is aware of this, so the Council has been promised recently in the most recent
national elections that it is going to evolve into the Ministry of Culture under the Executive Yuan,
and a separate arts granting agency, National Culture and Arts Foundation, was established in
January 1996.

The Importance Of Healthy Food
When cheeseburgers are consumed by today s society, they do not realize how laden it is with
fat and calories. Through the fancy pictures of restaurants unhealthy foods, customers are easily
drawn in. The cheap prices of the common junk food play another factor in luring in individuals.
Young people need to make a change in their diets, along with watching what they eat and how
much they eat. When ordering food in restaurants and other eating locations, individuals get
served large portion of foods. In order to significantly reduce the rate of obesity, people and
businesses along with the government need to make a change. The obesity epidemic can be
changed by lowering the price of healthy foods. In the online article Eating better for less by
Roland Sturm and Derek Yach it reveals that So far, the results are compelling. Lowering the
costs of healthy foods in supermarkets not only increases the amount of fruits, vegetables and
whole grains that people eat, but it also seems to reduce their consumption of less nutritionally
desirable foods. Using data from the grocery clerks scanners, we estimate that a 25% rebate on
healthy foods raises the share of healthier foods (11). In Eating better for less online article it
states that by lowering the price of health foods it reveals that very one makes a change and buys
healthier foods. Healthy foods should be inexpensive such that when people shop at grocery stores

Symbolism In Wise Blood By Flannery OConnor
Could I change it if I wanted, can I rise above the flood? / Will it wash out in the water, or is it
always in the blood? (Mayer). A question posed by the artist John Mayer holds true for the
characters in Flannery O Connor s most famous novel, Wise Blood. In this novel, O Connor
paints a picture of a small town in the heart of the Bible Belt and the internal struggle of its
inhabitants. The protagonist, Hazel Motes, procures a twisted version of the Gospel and
evangelizes to those who are made to believe they are lost. Yet, according to the teachings of Haze,
this picture that humans are inherently sinful and in need of saving is false. In this novel, Flannery
O Connor uses inanimate objects to show the attempts of Haze to replace what he knows to be
true. Enoch Emory, on the other hand, struggles with a curse he believes he was born with wise
blood. The prevalent themes of symbolism and imagery in Flannery O Connor s Wise Blood
represent the inner battle between spirituality and the human nature of rebellion.
Coming back from the war, Hazel Motes mindset is simple following a commission of sharing
his gospel. O Connor uses inanimate objects to draw comparisons and also contrast Haze s
secular and spiritual sides. One of the objects in Haze s life that becomes an obstacle for him is
his hat. The issue with Haze s hat is shown by saying, Haze had a stiff black broad brimmed hat
on his lap, a hat that an elderly country preacher would wear (O Connor 4). As Haze tries to
escape his preacher image, many around him see the hat as an indication of his spirituality. This
frustrates him, as he rejects any title that one may give him concerning religion. In Nervous
Shadow Walking Backwards, the author describes the reason why this affects Haze so much by
saying, In literature, a character s hat often symbolizes identity, the selfhood of the character. Haze s
hat is mistaken throughout the book as a preacher s hat, an identity that he rejects (Bolton 91).
Because of his desperation to escape this reputation, Haze purchases a new hat that,
counterintuitively, attracts the same comments as before. O Connor uses this hat to symbolize the
inability of Haze to escape the image he so intensely despises.

Are Coaches Ruining A Kid s Love For Sports
Bad coaching, Ruining a kid s love for a sport Are coaches killing childrens love for sports?
Coaches play a large role in how a kid views and plays a sport. It all depends in what type of
coach they are, they could be a good and positive coach for the child or they could be a bad
coach which is a huge negative towards the children. For example, a good coach would keep his
/her voice low after a mistake made by a player and tell him/her what they did wrong. A bad
coach on the other hand would stand up and yell at the kids singling him/her out and telling that
player they suck. Kids could quit a sport they ve loved forever because of how their coaches
handle them and the game. Coaching happens all over the world and for all sports and at any
age. With coaching being everywhere there will be bad coaches. One instance was when coach
Raul Aragon got frustrated with an umpire at a baseball game and was thrown out. He than
chased the umpire around until police arrived, he was coach of an 8 year old baseball team.
Another experience with a bad coach is when Kevin Pope, an assistant football coach, was
pointing a bb gun at a player for having bad grades. (Mark McCarter, Terrible Coaches has too

The biggest difference between good coaches and bad coaches is how they influence and handle
a their players. A good coach can push a kids out of their comfort zone to make him/her play
better. Good coaches also make the players a better person in society and help them gain
confidence. A good coach is a fair coach who sees all of his athletes as equals even when some
athletes are superior to others. A bad coach does the opposite of what good coaches. They have a
negative effect on the children they coach. Bad coaches can make practice a hostile environment
pushing the kids to their mental and physical limit. Bad coaches also cut down their players
confidence rather than build it

Museum Szymborska Analysis
Time is a permanent fixture in our world. It is with us the moment we take our first breath and
when we close our eyes for the last time. We use it to arrange events, change our appearance to
look as if time has had no effect on us, and attach it to special moments in our lives . Szymborska
explores our relationship with time, and our aspiration to rebel against it, in her works Museum
(30), Landscape (70 71), and The People On The Bridge (218 219) found in Poems New and
Collected (Szymborska, 1998) by portraying time as an antagonist, showing how humans fight time,
as well as their attempts to achieve immortality through detritus objects and art. In both poems,

/ They have their own ways of expressing protest. (3) A museum is a place where works of art
and various objects of cultural and historical significance are collected and displayed to help
give a better understanding of the past. The poem Museum (30) speaks of various objects and
their relationship to humans, and how they have outlived their human counterparts. The crown
has outlasted the head. / The hand has lost out to the glove. / The right shoe has defeated the
foot. (16) Although we ultimately accept that humans cannot defeat time, we can use these
items as a means of achieving immortality. Szymborska offers a different perspective on how we
try to influence and organize these detritus items through rhyme. Ire (5) and hour (6), celebrate,
(11) and date (12) are all an emotion or a reference to time. These contrasts highlights the fact
that time is out of our control. The specific references to numbers, a way we place emphasis on
the significance of objects through time, are arbitrary. There are some three hundred years (3)
or the ellipsis and line break emphasises the fact that Eight (11) is irrelevant, this human attempt
at order is proven futile. Szymborska acknowledges that humans know we cannot physically
preserve ourselves, we can t defeat time, so instead humans have preserved themselves through
different objects, from plates, wedding rings, fans, swords, and lutes. In Museum, Szymborska
defamiliarizes how we perceive the objects found in a museum, instead describe a place that
preserves a collection of detritus items. The People On the Bridge (218 219) is an allusion to a
painting drawn by Hiroshige Utagawa with the same name. He has successfully preserved his
memory, described as a rebel; time has tripped and fallen down. (30) He has

Devolution In Uk Research
Report to Constitutional Reform Institute about if devolution is as constitutionally important as a
sovereign parliament
Introduction
Parliament Sovereignty is the right to make or unmake any Law, Parliament are the supreme
making body. According to A.V Dicey No person or body is recognised by the law of England
having a right to override or set aside the legislation of Parliament 1. So nobody has the right to
question the validity of the Law, it should lie with Parliament as no one can challenge to change it.
This report offers information to assist party concerned of a conclusion to the effect devolution has
on the UK.
Background
Parliament Sovereignty was introduced in the UK so that all law making was done in one place,
then once law ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It would then start bringing the law making away from the Parliament and would undermine the
importance of Parliament Sovereignty, as it would not have to be passed by parliament. You then
start moving through towns and cities where different things might be a bylaw and in another city
it is not a problem. It then gets very confusing. Some local governments might take the power to an
extreme level which makes that an issue for that community. I think local governments should
make their voices hear, but I do not think it would be a goal for them to have the power of law
making.
Conclusion
This report has identified a variety of discussion points for the party to fully consider how
important it is for a local government to be included in the law making and be able to take idea to
the government to make devolution be a advantage of having in the UK law making

Summary Of The Racial Contract
Nickolas Almodovar
In The Racial Contract, Mills aims to investigate the divisions of class and wealth by examining
the profound impact of race on society. Although it is true that there are reoccurring systems of
oppression where race is the dividing factor, Mills does not give enough acknowledgement to other
identity determining factors such as gender nor does he elaborate on race both of which play major
roles in dividing society. He does touch upon the influence of money on decisions but links it to
race alone. With a library of carefully chosen examples, Mills successfully highlights the
Eurocentric influences on racist practice where each new manifesting practice is created to
oppress a group of people based on physical observances. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

In his favor however, it is helpful to note that ...whiteness is not really a color at all, but a set of
power relations. Here, Mills acknowledges that race is more than a war on skin tones; it is the
unequal distribution of power amongst two groups divided by one physical characteristic. The
labels black and white are simplistic. However, by using this simple definition of Whiteness,
black men would fall into that category with respect to black women. According to the Bureau
of Labor Statistics (2013), black men earned nearly 20% more than women (relative to one
another). This unequal distribution of wealth in society is symbolic of the unequal distribution of
power in the same society. This unequal distribution in the text is not presented as a major
concern. Mills refers to white women as philosophers (2) while black women are written here as
wanting to adhere to beauty standards (52). Women also had to overcome hegemonic classes , not
just blacks. This parallel of having to overcome an obstacle set by oppressors should be presented,
especially since it leads to an unequal distribution of power and that is what the text addresses.
It is true; there is an actual astonishing historical record of European atrocity against nonwhites
(Mills, 98). I would even argue that Mills missed important examples that belong in the text. One
big example which would have attracted more people would have been the mention of the Tuskegee
syphilis experiment. This

The Roman republic had set a specific set of laws that each person was suppose to abide by.
These set of laws were known as the Twelve Tables. After reading the selections from the Twelve
Tables, I gather that the Roman society was very strict and harsh, and its conception of justice
was more based on punishment than it was on negotiating the situation and coming to a clear
resolution. The Romans were more blunt with their punishments, they saw black and white , no
grey area when making decisions in court, which means that everything was a yes or no, no one
person had the opportunity to talk about any of their crimes, it was straight to punishment, or if
they were found to be not guilty then they were not punished. In Table IV : Rights of Head of
Family, it expresses just how cruel they were, Quickly kill... a dreadfully deformed child
(Spielvogel p. 116). In my opinion, this law is wicked because no one should be killed just
because of the way that they look, especially if they were born that way and can not help it.
Before the Twelve Tables, there were major problems and struggles. Both of the groups, patricians
and plebeians, were able to vote, but only the patricians were granted the right to be elected to
government positions. They were both able to make legal agreements and have marriages, but it
was forbidden for a patricianand a plebeian to intermarry. There was conflict amongst Rome because
everyone wanted the right to be equal, and they were not being treated

Ralph Waldo Emerson Beliefs
During the Transcendentalist movement, Ralph Waldo Emerson s famous quote in his booklet,
Nature, gave a lot of insight on the identity of the human race. His quote, A man is a god in ruins
indicates a sense of the fallen nature, and really emphasizes our faults and our limits, and many
authors during this time person also seemed to follow this philosophy. In Ralph Waldo Emersons
other work, Self Reliance, he is also able to capture this same essence from text to text. In addition
to Emerson, Henry David Thoreau, Nathaniel Hawthorneand Herman Melville all follow the same
philosophy in their own respective texts. The reader is able to see a common theme consistently
throughout Self Reliance, Economy (in Walden), The Artist of the Beautiful and Bartleby the
Scrivener and Benito Cereno. Throughout each of these texts, the reader essentially focuses on how
the nature of the human race focuses on how we are more than ordinary stone ruins, but we are
lesser than Gods. The optimism of Emerson s quote exploring the nature of the human person is
depicted in their own way and different writing style throughout all of these different texts. In Ralph
Waldo Emerson s booklet, Nature, his quote A man is a god in ruins, is famously known coming
from the Transcendentalist movement. Emerson stays on the same theme about the human race in
his text, Self Reliance. Emerson is extremely insistent on the human race to be themselves and their
own individual. He reflects how easy it is

The Atmosphere and The Ozone Layer
The atmosphere is an amazing creation. It contains many things that help make this world a place
where we can live. The atmosphere contains ozone. That helps protect our skin from harmful sun
rays. Many layers make up our atmosphere. There are five main layers, the troposphere,
stratosphere, mesosphere, thermosphere, and lastly the exosphere. Each layer has a different
purpose. Clouds are located in the atmosphereand are a big part of the water cycle. There are
different types of clouds and they all have different effects. Conduction and convection also play a
big part in how we live our lives today.
Ozone is a gas in the atmosphere. It absorbs ultraviolet radiation from the sun. Without ozone, our
skin would burn from the suns radiation. Ozone can be either good or bad for your health. It
depends on the location of it in the atmosphere. It can also be bad for the environment. When ozone
is near the ground it is considered very dangerous. During the hot summer months ozone levels
should be monitored. In the summer, more harmful ozone concentrations are in the air we use.
Inhaling ozone can be very dangerous to our health. It can cause a number of health problems.
Scientists are figuring out ways to help keep the air clean and people and the environment healthy.

Themes In The Yellow Birds By Kevin Powers
In the novel, The Yellow Birds by Kevin Powers, several major themes and illustrations present
themselves throughout the storyline and strongly connect to previous readings and films from
class. The purpose of this book review will be to identify these illustrations, explain why they are
important, identify how these themes are connected to previous materials, and then determine if a
movie could accurately represent the book. As such, I argue that this book illustrates ideas of the
lossof innocence, loss of faith in humanity, and dust symbolizing the war these soldiers are fighting
and how it consumes all. I will then further my argument by the identification of themes such as
neorealism, heroism, and PTSD. However, it is first important to identify the special narrative
structure of the book, which is used to create these illustrations and themes. The narrative
structure that Kevin Powers uses is the first person from Private Brandon Bartle s point of view.
However, the structure of the story doesn t follow a classical narrative, but instead follows an
alternative narrative where it bounces back and forth between Private Bartle s time in Al Tafar,
Iraq and when he is on leave at home in Richmond, Virginia (Corrigan, 2015). This narrative style
allows various illustrations and themes to present themselves with the first being the loss of
innocence is the path to salvation in war. This illustration is vital because it shows that because

Quantum Neural Network
1.1 Introduction and Background
The eld of articial neural networks (ANNs) draws its inspiration from the working of human brain
and the way brain processes information. An ANN is a directed graph with highly interconnected
nodes called neurons. Each edge of the graph has a weight associated with it to model the synaptic
eciency. The training process involves updating the weights of the network in such a way that the
network learns to solve the problem.
The neurons in the network work together to solve specic problems.
The network can be trained to do various tasks like pattern recognition, data classication, function
approximation etc. ANNs are widely used in the elds of computer vision ... Show more content on

1.2.1 The parallel universe interpretation
The parallel universe interpretation or the many world interpretation of quantum mechanics was
proposed by Hugh Everett in the year 1957 [3].
4 CHAPTER 1. QUANTUM NEURAL NETWORK
It says that there exists an innite number of coexisting universes and each possible outcome of an
event occurs in a parallel universe. According to the theory superposition states of a wavefunction
lies in dierent universes and the quantum system interacts with itself in dierent universes. Any act of
measurement sees the state only in one universe.
This interpretation can help in better understanding of the eld of quan tum information.

Abstract
In this rhetorical analysis, the value of uniqueness and the use of flavors are expressed in an ad
by Dr. Pepper, a well known and popular company. These values are found within the appeals of
logos, pathos, and ethos. It also states the history of how this soft drink was created, the creator,
and the year it was created. Logos is expressed when the brand states that it contains 23 flavors and
also includes an image of a bottle with the number 23 as well with other phrases. Pathos is used in
the ad when the company states that no other drink has these flavors, which means the drink is
unique, targeting the audience and persuading them to be special and different. Lastly, ethos is
used by us knowing the history behind the 23 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Next was pathos, which appeals to the emotions or what people are feeling. It connects with the
audience by showing or interpreting something the audience relates to or shows interest in. Lastly,
ethos is to what extent the audience trusts an author by relying on their word and reputation. The
author s credentials support what they are trying to convey or the message they are trying to send
to the audience about an ad or announcement.
Historical Context
Created, manufactured, and sold as a unique flavor, Dr. Pepper is the oldest in soft drinks in
American history. Charles Alderton, the creator of Dr. Pepper, invented his own beverage flavor
in the small city of Waco, Texas in the year of 1885.
His greatest invention came from the idea of the smell of the different kind of fruit syrups, and
the smell of the drug store he worked in. After giving a sample test of his new drink to the owner
of the drug store, and him liking the taste of it, Alderton gave his invention a greater opportunity to
expand by offering it at the soda fountain. According to Dr. Pepper Museum (2016) His creation of
this soft drink was exceptional, like no other drink, making other soda fountain operators ask for it
too. It came to the point where there was high demand of the product that Alderton and Morrison
could not produce enough for others to purchase. The product was so good that it started to be
recognized. Alderton had no interest in making his own invention a product in the market, so he

Neuroscience Of The Nervous System
Vigen Karchyan
Neuroscience Neuroscience, commonly referred to as Neural Science, is the study of the way the
nervous system develops, how it is structured and the functions of it. Scientists put emphasis on the
brain and the impact it has on behavior and cognitive functions. These scientists approach a closer
look on the reactions the nervous system has when humans have neurological, psychiatric and
neurodevelopmental disorders. The entire concept of neuroscience is addressed as a subdivision of
biology. It is applied to chemistry, cognitive science, engineering, mathematics, linguistics and
more. Scientists say that neuroscience is identical as neurobiology but there is a difference between
the two conceptions. Neurobiology focuses mainly on the biology of the nervous system and
neuroscience emphasizes on any portion of the nervous system. Neuroscientists have various fields
of study that include cellular, functional, computational and medical aspects of the nervous system.
The history of neuroscience dates back and the Ancient Egyptians believed that intelligence rooted
from the heart. Throughout the process of mummification, they detached the brain but left the heart
inside of the body. Herodotus, a Greek historian that lived up until 425BC, claimed the most
perfect practice is to extract as much of the brain as possible with an iron hook, and what the hook
cannot reach is mixed with drugs. There were scripts focused on the brain that were first found in

Improvements for the Texas Capital Punishment System Essay
Improvements for the Texas Capital Punishment System Few issues in the United States today are
as emotionally charged and controversial as the death penalty. Formally know as capital
punishment, the death penalty has been hotly debated not only as a legal issue, but as a religious,
ethical, and political one, historically as well as in the present day. Although many states currently
administer the death penalty, Texas has been put in the spot light this past year because of the
recent presidential race. The moral question of whether or not it is right to kill another human
being is ever present in today s society. However, when looking at it from a political standpoint,

However, this is a very non factual picture. There is very little to no blood in electrocutions.
Secondly, the method of choice is currently lethal injection. In response to those who fondly quote
the eighth amendment, the Constitution actually makes reference to the death penalty not one, but
twice. The first occurrence is in the fifth amendment of the Bill of Rights, which says that, no
person shall be held to answer for a capital...crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a Grand
Jury... nor be deprived of life... without due process of law (Stewart 21). In other words, the
Constitution is specifying that the death penalty may be used, but warns that there are certain
stipulations that must first be met. The second mentioning is in the Fourteenth Amendment which
says states shall not, deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process (Stewart
22). Once again, the same law regarding the death penalty is passed on to the states. In either case,
the constitution is permitting the death penalty, but stating that there must be a due process in
which the verdict is made. The death penalty was legalized in Texas in 1923. It was instituted as an
alternative to lynching and county level executions. Since Texas was a rather prejudice state,
lynching were common after the abolition of slavery. After the death penalty was instituted, the
number of lynchings was significantly

similarities, yet are markedly different. Rob Hall and Scott Fischer are both world renowned

enterprises. Each employ the respect of his peers, yet here is where the similarities end. With
differences in their physical stature, climbing styles, and safety concerns, it would seem that one

was very passionate about climbing and had a strong desire to be the best yet his approach to
climbing was reckless with little respect for his own welfare. Krakauer writes, If the name of
Hall s business, Adventure Consultants, mirrored his methodical, fastidious approach to

his early twenties, he had developed a reputation for a harrowing, damn the torpedoes approach

some climbing mishaps which could have cost him his life. Fischer did not have the flair for
publicity like Hall creating the inability to gain many sponsorships in his climbing career. Like

Deployment and the Military Family
Deployment and the Military Family

August 6, 2010
Deployments are a difficult time for military families. Deployment of a loved one affects the
whole family. The service member may worry about how his family may fare without him or even
miss milestones in his children s lives. The spouse has to function as a single parent and take on
responsibilities left behind by the service member. The children may suffer from behavioral
problems and not adjust well to having a parent deployed.
Few studies have been done to examine the affects of deployment on military families. There are
many hardships faced by military families. Unless you have experienced the demanding lifestyle of
the families you ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Speaking from the perspective of a military spouse, my opinion is this; we are proud of our service
to the United States as a family. The sacrifices that have been made are worth keeping our children
and fellow citizens safe. We are a living and working part of the organism called society.
The military family may very well fit into the conflict perspective. The military family is constantly
battling to protect the power of the nation from other nations. Families are a constant state of
conflict with each other. The service member deploys. The children begin to experience behavioral
problems. The spouse takes on extra roles acts as single parents.
With military families in a constant state of conflict there are now research groups doing studies
to find out what the effects of deployment are on the whole family. As these groups release their
findings we can offer families resources to help combat the conflicts of deployment. Some
resources now being offered to improve quality of life are parenting classes adapted to military life
style, child care, and mental health resources. Operation Purple Camp is one example of the studies
that is helping military families. The program gave children to meet other children like them. It also
surveyed the families on several different occasions to gather data (http://www.rand.org/pubs

Easter Island Case Study Essay
Name of Case Study: Easter Island: A Case Study in Non sustainability (Foot p.11) Key
environmental points: Easter Island is a remotely located island in the South Pacific. The island
was first populated in circa A. D. 400 by a group of travelers from Polynesia. The island, shaped
like a triangle, was positioned 2,000 km from the nearest inhabited land, and 3,200 km from the
closest continental land mass (Foot p. 11). According to David Foot the island originally
supported a great palm forest (p. 12). Sediment cores collected have shown these palm trees to
have been considerable in both height and diameter, actually dwarfing the three foot diameter of
the largest currently existing palm tree (Diamond p. 103). Frost further pointed out how attractive
the island would seem to those early Polynesian settlers, Surrounded by an abundant ocean and
supporting two extinct volcanic craters that contained natural lakes for fresh water, Easter Island
appeared to have many attractive features for human habitation (p. 12 13). The location of Easter
Island just south of the Tropic of Capricorn would have afforded a mild climate similar to the
climate of South Florida. Archeological findings show that this robust population had a diet
consisting of land birds, porpoises, and lithic mulch agriculture. The most intriguing aspect of the

The Anatomy And Physiology Of The Eye
The human eye is a wonderful organ enabling us to perform all our daily tasks. The sense of
sight allows to do almost all activities. There are countless activities including studying, cooking,
driving, or playing an instrument. Other tasks that vision is helpful for would be communicating,
working, making life a lot easier, which are very essential. Most people would agree that vision
is more valuable than the rest. The eyes allow us to interpret colors and shapes. This happens after
a long complex process, starting from the reflect of light on the objects to the eyes and ends up in
the brain as images. Having a healthy eyeis very important and improves the quality of a person s
life. In this paper points out the very common eye... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The other two portions in this layer are the choroid, the posterior and vascular portion which
supplies blood to all layers and the ciliary body which is a ring of muscles around the lens used
to focus the lens. The lens has a flexible structure that can change shape to precisely focus light on
the retina. The Retina is the very interior layer which consists of two layers. The pigmented outer
layer which absorbs light and prevents scattering. And the Neural layer composed of bipolar cells,
ganglion cells and two types of photoreceptors.
The eye is protected by a cushion of fat and a bony orbit surrounding the eye s anterior part. There
are also accessory structures that protect the eye and help maintain the eye s function. These
accessory structures include the eyelids, eyebrows, lacrimal apparatus, conjunctiva, and the
extrinsic eye muscles. The eyebrows function is to shade the eye from sunlight and keep out
perspiration from reaching the eye. The eyelids contains the nerves that initiate reflex blinking, and
protects the eye s anterior part, because it contains eyelashes at the edges, which prevents debris or
small particles like dust or sand from entering the eye. It also contains lubrication glands to keep the
eye moistened, such as tarsal glands and ciliary glands. The Conjunctiva is a transparent membrane
which also produces mucus. Next, the lacrimal consists of the lacrimal gland and ducts which

Outsourced Data and Cloud Computing
As we know that cloud is a drastic data center for outsourced data. Cloud is a familier tool because
of its useful architectural tools. Data sharing is another common habituated property to the
common people. These data sharing include video data in social networks, this was done regularly
through mobile devices like smart phones, tablets, laptops etc. we focused on demands on video
traffic over mobile networks. Mobile network consist limited bandwidth and long buffering time. To
overcome these issues we suppose adaptive mobile video streaming, efficient social video sharing.
These two approaches shows scalable results in social network environment.
Introduction
Cloud computing is the provision of dynamically scalable and often virtualized resources as a
services over the internet Users need not have knowledge of, expertise in, or control over the
technology infrastructure in the cloud that supports them. Cloud computing represents a major
change in how we store information and run applications. Instead of hosting apps and data on an
individual desktop computer, everything is hosted in the cloud an assemblage of computers and
servers accessed via the Internet. Cloud computing exhibits the following key characteristics: 1.
Agility improves with users ability to re provision technological infrastructure resources. 2. Multi
tenancy enables sharing of resources and costs across a large pool of users thus allowing for:
3. Utilization and efficiency

The Effect Of Communication On The Satisfaction Of A...
Why take another look at communication again? because most studies that have been done, do
the same thing over and over. They use self reports that are coded themselves or that the research
will have the participants code, tons of different questionnaires that take time for the participants
to do, and it is really not relevant for the new generations. With the studies that have been done,
almost half of all first marriage still end in divorce. It looks like the system that we use to study
and try to help curb this just isn t working, because of the measures that are used it just speak to
the generation anymore. This study is different, it will use a video game as the measure to study
the effects of communication on the satisfaction in a relationship. The video game doesn t take
much time, and time is very important to this generation that is always on the go. It is also a lot
more relevant for this generation of couples as well. This study will also be looking at specifically
communication in a stressful situation, which the studies have not covered before. This is
important because every couple as arguments and by studying this hopefully it will curb the amount
of arguments in the relationship and help lower the first marriage divorce rates. There was a study
done just recently that looked at whether communication predicted satisfaction or satisfaction
predicted communication? The study didn t really find whether one predicted the other.(Lavner, et
al, 2016, p. 1 15)

A Study Of Warfare During The Modern Era
A study of warfare in the modern era suggest a progression through three distinct generations.
Although U.S. Armed Forces are still coming to grips with the third of these, strong trends point to
an emerging fourth generation. Those who would prepare for future warfare must consider the
trends envisaged here and the challenges they would present to existing forces.
As the world devolves into nations with less clear borders than perhaps any time in recent military
history with the closest example being the 100 years war in Europe and finds itself possessing of
enemies that heretofore have been much easier to classify there is a distinct change arising in
the face of war. If one thinks back to the classic wars of recent U.S. history one can see clearly
defined lines of this nation verses that nation and here are the bad guys and here is where we are
and where we will launch operations.
As borders blur and groupings become more difficult to define the United States finds itself at a
crossroads in history that, moving forward, will determine victory or defeat but also deeply impact
strategy. So the research question to be answered here is, How will the United States change its
strategy and definitions of states and even war in the face of rapidly changing lines of distinction
between the two aforementioned terms?
Some of these answers will be found in the analysis of the rapidly changing policy of the United
States war on terror, but will also be found in articles as

The Great Hunger And The Irish Potato Famine
Intro The Great Hunger, Great Famine, the dreaded calamity, or if your outside of Ireland the
Irish Potato Famine. Occurring between 1847 1852, the famine claimed the lives of around one
million people and caused millions to flee Ireland, in order to escape the bleak situation it was.
Today I will be giving some background of life in Irelandbefore the faminestarted of the average
citizen, I will briefly discuss the pathogen that killed the potatocrop, the government response to the
famine, the overall consequences and reactions of the Irish people, and finally I will discuss the
ethical dilemmas that the famine raise.
Slide one Land Ownership Starting off I would like to explain what life was like for the average
Irish citizen in the mid 19th century. Most people were tenant agriculture farmers who worked
for landlords, who owned vast estates, but a great deal of them didn t, in fact, live in Ireland,
which lead to them being commonly referred to as absentee landlords. The landlords allotted
workers small plots of land to grow their own food in exchange for working the land growing
grain cash crops. In order to sustain a high calorie diet for themselves and their families, most of
these tenant farmers grew potatoes. This was primarily due to the fact you get a lot of bang for
your buck from potatoes as they yielded quite a bit of calories per acre. Outside of what the
tenants ate, Ireland produced quite a bit of food but this was mostly exported to England where

Alcatraz Escape Proof Prison
In 1934, Alcatraz seemed a perfect place for an escape proof prison, for America s worst
criminals. Escape attempts were rare in Alcatraz. People who tried, were either Caught, killed,or
Drowned. It was sort of like the titanic, You know, the titanic s never gonna sink, Arthur Roderick
said, I think, everybody just figured that nobody s gonna escape from Alcatraz. But on June 11
1962, 3 prisoners were known to escape from Alcatraz. Frank Lee Morris, and brothers John and
Clarence Anglin. They broke out of their prisons, never to be found, Alive nor dead. It s still a
mystery whether they survived or drowned. The case is still opened some 40 years later. Their
story began on August 11 1934, when the old military prisonreopened on Alcatraz island as a
federal penitentiary. They re gonna put the bad, the bad, the worst, the worst there, W.L Mac
Mclendon said, So it was supposed to be an escape proof facility. The men in Alcatraz had made
numerous escape, or attempts. Some of the people who were behind the bars in Alcatraz were Al
Capone, Machine Gun Kelly, Micky Cohen, and Robert... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They had to go to a reformatory school for about a couple years and they had broke out from one
out of another. They commited a bank robbery with a toy pistol and were caught, People don t go
robbing banks with toy pistols, you d get killed! They got put in prison for more than 30 years!
Within 25 days from the time they committed the robbery, they were actually in prison serving their
sentence. John and Clarence were later transferred to the federal prison in Leavenworth, Kansas,
after attempting to escape in Atlanta. After another failed escape attempt, John and Clarence were
transported to the maximum security, heavily fortified prison at Alcatraz, where they reunited with
fellow convicts Frank Morris and Allen West, who had also served time in

Nomads Of Brazil
Brazil was inhabited for at least 8000 years ago by Amerindian nomads and semi nomads.
Eventually some of the nomads settled down to farm and eventually formed cities. They lived like
this for thousands of years until the Europeans arrived. In the 16th century, Portugal began to
colonize Brasil. The Portuguese brought many diseases which resulted in the deaths of the majority
of the natives. The surviving natives were decided to be civilized by the Portuguese. This meant
mixing with their women, forcing their culture on them and converting them to Christianity. From
1580 to 1640 Brasil was slightly neglected along with other Portuguese colonies due to the
Hapsburg ownership of Portugal. In 1690 gold was discovered in Brasil and thousands

Causes Of Pollution And Pollution Of The Ocean Essay
Pollution and Warming of the Ocean The ocean is a vast and mysterious part of our ocean. The
ocean covers 71 % of our planet and contains over 50% of all life on earth .( Oceanic Institute ).
The oceans also holds the deepest part of our planet that we have yet to explore and discover. The
ocean is such a vital part of our planet and we are destroying it with pollution and mistakes that we
have made.
Global warming is a huge issue that we have to deal with. The world is getting warmer. Whether
the cause is human activity or natural variability most of evidence says it is because of humans.
Thermometer readings all around the world have risen steadily since the beginning of the
Industrial Revolution in Great Britain ( earthobservatory ). According to NASA s Goddard
Institute for Space Shuttles in the temperature had risen by .80 degrees celsius or 1.4 degrees
fahrenheit since 1880( earthobservatory ). You may think one degree what is the big deal? You
have to think how much energy it takes to raise the entire planet of the earth by one degree. The
surface area of the earth is 196.9 million square miles. The cause of the temperature means that
more solar radiation is getting through our atmosphere. Most scientist believe that large levels of
radiation actually cause the ice age(Ice Age). So when you ask what the big deal about 1 or 2
degrees just remember that that one or two degree sent the earth plundering into an global snow ball.
There is no denying that our Earth is

An apparel production system is an integration of material handling production process, personnel and the equipment that directs work flow and generates finished products. This may lead to longer throughput time, poor quality concealed by bundles, large inventory, extra handling, and difficulty in controlling inventory Unit production system A unit production system (UPS) is a type of line layout that uses an overhead transporter system to move garment components from work station to work station for Assembly [pic] Work flow of unit production All the parts for a single garment are advanced through the production line together by means of a hanging carrier that travels along an overhead conveyor. The overhead rail system consists of the main conveyor and accumulating rails for each work station. The overhead conveyor operates much like a railroad track. Carriers are moved along the main conveyor and switched to an accumulating rail at the work station where an operation is to be performed. At the completion of an operation the operator presses a button, and the carrier moves on to the next operation. Most unit production systems are linked to a computer control center that routes and tracks production and provides up to the minute data for management decisions. The automatic control of work flow sorts work, balances the line, and reduces claims of favouritism in bundle distribution. • 3. The Issue Of Colonization On The United Nations In the words spoken by Albert Einstein, Given the millions of billions of Earth like planets, life elsewhere in the Universe without a doubt, does exist. In the vastness of the Universe we are not alone. , he states, that without a doubt, life does exist somewhere other than Earth, and as expected, he was correct. Recently, a new planet has been found, and it has been discovered that this planet in particular is capable of sustaining life. Furthermore, the United Nations are in the act of passing a legislation that allows them to annex and colonize this newly found planet. However, this planet already contains living life forms of its own. The fact that this new planet has its own living life forms is astonishing, but because it contains living life forms I am against the U.N on their plans of colonization on this new planet. When incorporating our past mistakes in history and comparing them to our future actions, the process and outcome of colonization on both cases are particularly negative. Moreover, if we were to imperialize this planet the chances of: cultural loss, death, and racism are high. Given the occasion that the U.N does indeed decide to colonize this new planet, we would definitely not respect the new life form s culture, and will most likely change their civilization to be more like us. British rule in India is a great example as to why we should not colonize this new planet. For instance, because of British rule in India, new machines replaced Indian ... • 4. The Importance Of Logos In Writing In every speech you hear, news article you read, and commercial you see rhetoric is being used. Rhetoric is a technique used to try and persuade or please an audience. When writing, writers always have to think about the subject of the situation, their audience, the occasion (place and time), and the purpose or point that they are trying to get across. A key thing that writers focus on is ethos, logos and pathos, all of these play a huge role in trying to convince the audience to believe what the speaker believes or buy what they are selling. Ethos is trying to get the audience to trust you or getting someone who the audience trusts, logos is using logic and reason like numbers and graphs and statistics, ethos is going after the audience s emotions or beliefs to make them feel more connected or understanding. With all this in mind, you have to know how and when to use these different ways of persuasion because if you don t you will have an inneffective piece of writing. When using your rhetorical devices correcting and you can persuade someone, that is an effective piece of writing. Man Takes First Steps on the Moon is an example of an effective piece of writing that persuades the public that Neil Armstronghad made the most historic scientific achievement in the history of man. In this article it mentions former president Nixon describing is as one of the greatest moments of our time. This example shows how mentioning the President at the time can get trust from the ... Art Of Near East Royalties Jinhwan Kim Professor Debin ArtHist 112 08 November 2016 Art of Near East Royalties Many people speculate on ancient artifacts with an eye towards its aesthetic value of contemporary etic perspective. While most people are not professional anthropologists who would try to be an anachronistic spectators of a so called unknown ancient society , the interesting historical and cultural aspects are embedded within every art piece throughout the ancient world. The ancient near east nations were characteristic in their own values just like any contemporary society, and they are worth the discussion through various aspects such as cultural, ideological, and historical. The first art piece called Ashurnasirpal II and a Winged Deity, discovered in Northern Iraq, Nimrud, in 9th century BC opens our exhibition of ancient near east art. The presence of many contents such as artistic canon, hierarchy of scale and composite view is most correspondent to the characteristics of Old Kingdom period of Egyptian art. The subject depicted in the panel is king Ashurnasirpal II on the left and the winged deity, god Ashur. In addition to details, hierarchy of scale is used for clarification; both king and the winged deity fully occupies the entire panel in absence of background features, and the deity is shown to be slightly taller than king Ashurnasirpal ii, to clarify its identity. The hair, wings and clothes in both subjects are very much stylized, not very naturalistic, with circular spots ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. My Hero Essay Flames shot twenty feet into the air. Drums blared, guitars strum, and one tear escaped my eye. This was the greatest experience of my life, I was finally getting to see my hero, Paul McCartney. While most kids of the generation look up to the the likes of Justin Bieber, and Ariana Grande, I differ. My hero has integrity, he stands up for what he believes in, even if it s not a popular opinion. Even better is his ability to inspire, his lyrics and rhetoric make people change for the better. A true hero has the ability to make people act, not by force, but because they want to. It is not easy to stand up for what one believes in when he is criticised by the public or media. Being able to stand against the regular cultural norms and do what is right is a strong identifier of integrity, and that is what Paul McCartney does. The greatest example of this was in the late 60 s, when Paul was a Beatle. This was the stadium era, a time for concert goers that was ushered in by The Beatles. The unfortunate piece of the however, was the fact that this era still involved segregation. Paul and the Beatles would not stand for this tolerance, the most amazing piece to keep in mind is that at the time they were just teenagers. They showed integrity when after hearing that a concert of theirs would be segregated they released this statement We never play to segregated audiences and we aren t going to start now. • 7. The United States Of The World War II Essay On December 7th, 1941, the United States of America was heaved into World War II after Japan attacked the American naval convoy in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. The next day after the Japanese s surprise attack, America and Great Britain both declared war on Japan. The Second World War was histories greatest and most noteworthy armed conflict. It served as the environment for the current arrangement of security and intellect, and for the postwar power stability that shaped the agenda for the Cold War. World War II partook with around 50 allied nations, one of the most renowned was The United Statesof America.3 The American industry provided almost two thirds of all of the allied military equipment produced during the war, and because of this, in four years alone, Americas industrial production doubled in size even with it already being the largest at the time. After the attack, everyday living throughout the nation was considerably affected. Normal goods such as food, gas, and clothing were rationed heavily.1 The communities created scrap metal drives and changed the standard role of women in order to build necessary weaponries to win the war.1 Even though America was experiencing great economic growth, undoubtedly this war and its associated atrocities would have a death toll of around 50 million military and civilian peoples, in the military deaths alone The United States of America lost 400,000.1 World War II not only disturbed the economy of the United States, but it also ... Societal Brain Functions 1.A) Skills Training: The primary motor cortex is made up of interconnected neural assemblies (localized groups of neurons with similar inputs and outputs), that control movements in the fingers, hands, and legs. This coordinated activation can then be made complex and lets us do multijoint movements such as reaching. Before the study the theory was that during skills learning, the connectivity between these neural assemblies change. These changes were viewed as differences in cortical synapse numbers, synaptic strength, and the topography of stimulation evoked movement representation. They did a study with adult rats to measure these changes while they do an obstacle course. Some rats had to learn limb placement and posture control to finish a complex obstacle course, and the others walked an unobstructed course. The rats that were required to learn limb placement and posture control because of the complex obstacle course, showed increases in synapse number within the motor cortex compare to the rats doing the simple obstacle. The synaptic changes seen here are thought to show the changes in cortical circuitry that results in the reorganization of the neural assemblies encoding movement. Therefore proving the theory correct. All this data indicates that training on a skill produces alterations in the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 14. Symbolism In Wise Blood By Flannery OConnor Could I change it if I wanted, can I rise above the flood? / Will it wash out in the water, or is it always in the blood? (Mayer). A question posed by the artist John Mayer holds true for the characters in Flannery O Connor s most famous novel, Wise Blood. In this novel, O Connor paints a picture of a small town in the heart of the Bible Belt and the internal struggle of its inhabitants. The protagonist, Hazel Motes, procures a twisted version of the Gospel and evangelizes to those who are made to believe they are lost. Yet, according to the teachings of Haze, this picture that humans are inherently sinful and in need of saving is false. In this novel, Flannery O Connor uses inanimate objects to show the attempts of Haze to replace what he knows to be true. Enoch Emory, on the other hand, struggles with a curse he believes he was born with wise blood. The prevalent themes of symbolism and imagery in Flannery O Connor s Wise Blood represent the inner battle between spirituality and the human nature of rebellion. Coming back from the war, Hazel Motes mindset is simple following a commission of sharing his gospel. O Connor uses inanimate objects to draw comparisons and also contrast Haze s secular and spiritual sides. One of the objects in Haze s life that becomes an obstacle for him is his hat. The issue with Haze s hat is shown by saying, Haze had a stiff black broad brimmed hat on his lap, a hat that an elderly country preacher would wear (O Connor 4). As Haze tries to escape his preacher image, many around him see the hat as an indication of his spirituality. This frustrates him, as he rejects any title that one may give him concerning religion. In Nervous Shadow Walking Backwards, the author describes the reason why this affects Haze so much by saying, In literature, a character s hat often symbolizes identity, the selfhood of the character. Haze s hat is mistaken throughout the book as a preacher s hat, an identity that he rejects (Bolton 91). Because of his desperation to escape this reputation, Haze purchases a new hat that, counterintuitively, attracts the same comments as before. O Connor uses this hat to symbolize the inability of Haze to escape the image he so intensely despises. In ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Coaches play a large role in how a kid views and plays a sport. It all depends in what type of coach they are, they could be a good and positive coach for the child or they could be a bad coach which is a huge negative towards the children. For example, a good coach would keep his /her voice low after a mistake made by a player and tell him/her what they did wrong. A bad coach on the other hand would stand up and yell at the kids singling him/her out and telling that player they suck. Kids could quit a sport they ve loved forever because of how their coaches handle them and the game. Coaching happens all over the world and for all sports and at any age. With coaching being everywhere there will be bad coaches. One instance was when coach Raul Aragon got frustrated with an umpire at a baseball game and was thrown out. He than chased the umpire around until police arrived, he was coach of an 8 year old baseball team. We use it to arrange events, change our appearance to look as if time has had no effect on us, and attach it to special moments in our lives . Szymborska explores our relationship with time, and our aspiration to rebel against it, in her works Museum (30), Landscape (70 71), and The People On The Bridge (218 219) found in Poems New and Collected (Szymborska, 1998) by portraying time as an antagonist, showing how humans fight time, as well as their attempts to achieve immortality through detritus objects and art. (3) A museum is a place where works of art and various objects of cultural and historical significance are collected and displayed to help give a better understanding of the past. The poem Museum (30) speaks of various objects and their relationship to humans, and how they have outlived their human counterparts. The crown has outlasted the head. / The hand has lost out to the glove. / The right shoe has defeated the foot. (16) Although we ultimately accept that humans cannot defeat time, we can use these items as a means of achieving immortality. Szymborska offers a different perspective on how we try to influence and organize these detritus items through rhyme. Ire (5) and hour (6), celebrate, (11) and date (12) are all an emotion or a reference to time. These contrasts highlights the fact that time is out of our control. The specific references to numbers, a way we place emphasis on the significance of objects through time, are arbitrary. There are some three hundred years (3) or the ellipsis and line break emphasises the fact that Eight (11) is irrelevant, this human attempt at order is proven futile. Szymborska acknowledges that humans know we cannot physically preserve ourselves, we can t defeat time, so instead humans have preserved themselves through different objects, from plates, wedding rings, fans, swords, and lutes. In Museum, Szymborska defamiliarizes how we perceive the objects found in a museum, instead describe a place that preserves a collection of detritus items. Although it is true that there are reoccurring systems of oppression where race is the dividing factor, Mills does not give enough acknowledgement to other identity determining factors such as gender nor does he elaborate on race both of which play major roles in dividing society. He does touch upon the influence of money on decisions but links it to race alone. With a library of carefully chosen examples, Mills successfully highlights the Eurocentric influences on racist practice where each new manifesting practice is created to oppress a group of people based on physical observances. ... Here, Mills acknowledges that race is more than a war on skin tones; it is the unequal distribution of power amongst two groups divided by one physical characteristic. The labels black and white are simplistic. However, by using this simple definition of Whiteness, black men would fall into that category with respect to black women. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (2013), black men earned nearly 20% more than women (relative to one another). This unequal distribution of wealth in society is symbolic of the unequal distribution of power in the same society. This unequal distribution in the text is not presented as a major concern. Mills refers to white women as philosophers (2) while black women are written here as wanting to adhere to beauty standards (52). Women also had to overcome hegemonic classes , not just blacks. This parallel of having to overcome an obstacle set by oppressors should be presented, especially since it leads to an unequal distribution of power and that is what the text addresses. It is true; there is an actual astonishing historical record of European atrocity against nonwhites (Mills, 98). I would even argue that Mills missed important examples that belong in the text. One big example which would have attracted more people would have been the mention of the Tuskegee syphilis experiment. This ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 22. Roman Twelve Tables The Roman republic had set a specific set of laws that each person was suppose to abide by. These set of laws were known as the Twelve Tables. After reading the selections from the Twelve Tables, I gather that the Roman society was very strict and harsh, and its conception of justice was more based on punishment than it was on negotiating the situation and coming to a clear resolution. The Romans were more blunt with their punishments, they saw black and white , no grey area when making decisions in court, which means that everything was a yes or no, no one person had the opportunity to talk about any of their crimes, it was straight to punishment, or if they were found to be not guilty then they were not punished. In Table IV : Rights of Head of Family, it expresses just how cruel they were, Quickly kill... a dreadfully deformed child (Spielvogel p. 116). In my opinion, this law is wicked because no one should be killed just because of the way that they look, especially if they were born that way and can not help it. Before the Twelve Tables, there were major problems and struggles. Both of the groups, patricians and plebeians, were able to vote, but only the patricians were granted the right to be elected to government positions. They were both able to make legal agreements and have marriages, but it was forbidden for a patricianand a plebeian to intermarry. There was conflict amongst Rome because everyone wanted the right to be equal, and they were not being treated ... • 23. Ralph Waldo Emerson Beliefs During the Transcendentalist movement, Ralph Waldo Emerson s famous quote in his booklet, Nature, gave a lot of insight on the identity of the human race. His quote, A man is a god in ruins indicates a sense of the fallen nature, and really emphasizes our faults and our limits, and many authors during this time person also seemed to follow this philosophy. In Ralph Waldo Emersons other work, Self Reliance, he is also able to capture this same essence from text to text. In addition to Emerson, Henry David Thoreau, Nathaniel Hawthorneand Herman Melville all follow the same philosophy in their own respective texts. The reader is able to see a common theme consistently throughout Self Reliance, Economy (in Walden), The Artist of the Beautiful and Bartleby the Scrivener and Benito Cereno. Throughout each of these texts, the reader essentially focuses on how the nature of the human race focuses on how we are more than ordinary stone ruins, but we are lesser than Gods. The optimism of Emerson s quote exploring the nature of the human person is depicted in their own way and different writing style throughout all of these different texts. In Ralph Waldo Emerson s booklet, Nature, his quote A man is a god in ruins, is famously known coming from the Transcendentalist movement. That helps protect our skin from harmful sun rays. Many layers make up our atmosphere. There are five main layers, the troposphere, stratosphere, mesosphere, thermosphere, and lastly the exosphere. Each layer has a different purpose. Clouds are located in the atmosphereand are a big part of the water cycle. There are different types of clouds and they all have different effects. Conduction and convection also play a big part in how we live our lives today. Ozone is a gas in the atmosphere. It absorbs ultraviolet radiation from the sun. Without ozone, our skin would burn from the suns radiation. Ozone can be either good or bad for your health. It depends on the location of it in the atmosphere. It can also be bad for the environment. When ozone is near the ground it is considered very dangerous. During the hot summer months ozone levels should be monitored. In the summer, more harmful ozone concentrations are in the air we use. Inhaling ozone can be very dangerous to our health. It can cause a number of health problems. • 27. Themes In The Yellow Birds By Kevin Powers In the novel, The Yellow Birds by Kevin Powers, several major themes and illustrations present themselves throughout the storyline and strongly connect to previous readings and films from class. The purpose of this book review will be to identify these illustrations, explain why they are important, identify how these themes are connected to previous materials, and then determine if a movie could accurately represent the book. As such, I argue that this book illustrates ideas of the lossof innocence, loss of faith in humanity, and dust symbolizing the war these soldiers are fighting and how it consumes all. I will then further my argument by the identification of themes such as neorealism, heroism, and PTSD. However, it is first important to identify the special narrative structure of the book, which is used to create these illustrations and themes. The narrative structure that Kevin Powers uses is the first person from Private Brandon Bartle s point of view. However, the structure of the story doesn t follow a classical narrative, but instead follows an alternative narrative where it bounces back and forth between Private Bartle s time in Al Tafar, Iraq and when he is on leave at home in Richmond, Virginia (Corrigan, 2015). This narrative style allows various illustrations and themes to present themselves with the first being the loss of innocence is the path to salvation in war. After giving a sample test of his new drink to the owner of the drug store, and him liking the taste of it, Alderton gave his invention a greater opportunity to expand by offering it at the soda fountain. Neuroscience Of The Nervous System Vigen Karchyan Neuroscience Neuroscience, commonly referred to as Neural Science, is the study of the way the nervous system develops, how it is structured and the functions of it. Scientists put emphasis on the brain and the impact it has on behavior and cognitive functions. These scientists approach a closer look on the reactions the nervous system has when humans have neurological, psychiatric and neurodevelopmental disorders. The entire concept of neuroscience is addressed as a subdivision of biology. It is applied to chemistry, cognitive science, engineering, mathematics, linguistics and more. Scientists say that neuroscience is identical as neurobiology but there is a difference between the two conceptions. Neurobiology focuses mainly on the biology of the nervous system and neuroscience emphasizes on any portion of the nervous system. Neuroscientists have various fields of study that include cellular, functional, computational and medical aspects of the nervous system. The history of neuroscience dates back and the Ancient Egyptians believed that intelligence rooted from the heart. Throughout the process of mummification, they detached the brain but left the heart inside of the body. Herodotus, a Greek historian that lived up until 425BC, claimed the most perfect practice is to extract as much of the brain as possible with an iron hook, and what the hook cannot reach is mixed with drugs. The first occurrence is in the fifth amendment of the Bill of Rights, which says that, no person shall be held to answer for a capital...crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a Grand Jury... nor be deprived of life... without due process of law (Stewart 21). The island, shaped like a triangle, was positioned 2,000 km from the nearest inhabited land, and 3,200 km from the closest continental land mass (Foot p. 11). With the number of plane related incidents in the past year, safety procedures are of the utmost importance and must be maintained to a higher level of standard than usual. Porter s Five Forces

  • 44. The Anatomy And Physiology Of The Eye The human eye is a wonderful organ enabling us to perform all our daily tasks. The sense of sight allows to do almost all activities. There are countless activities including studying, cooking, driving, or playing an instrument. Other tasks that vision is helpful for would be communicating, working, making life a lot easier, which are very essential. Most people would agree that vision is more valuable than the rest. The eyes allow us to interpret colors and shapes. This happens after a long complex process, starting from the reflect of light on the objects to the eyes and ends up in the brain as images. Having a healthy eyeis very important and improves the quality of a person s life. In this paper points out the very common eye... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The other two portions in this layer are the choroid, the posterior and vascular portion which supplies blood to all layers and the ciliary body which is a ring of muscles around the lens used to focus the lens. The lens has a flexible structure that can change shape to precisely focus light on the retina. The Retina is the very interior layer which consists of two layers. The pigmented outer layer which absorbs light and prevents scattering. And the Neural layer composed of bipolar cells, ganglion cells and two types of photoreceptors. The eye is protected by a cushion of fat and a bony orbit surrounding the eye s anterior part. There are also accessory structures that protect the eye and help maintain the eye s function. These accessory structures include the eyelids, eyebrows, lacrimal apparatus, conjunctiva, and the extrinsic eye muscles. The eyebrows function is to shade the eye from sunlight and keep out perspiration from reaching the eye. The eyelids contains the nerves that initiate reflex blinking, and protects the eye s anterior part, because it contains eyelashes at the edges, which prevents debris or small particles like dust or sand from entering the eye. It also contains lubrication glands to keep the eye moistened, such as tarsal glands and ciliary glands. The Conjunctiva is a transparent membrane which also produces mucus. Next, the lacrimal consists of the lacrimal gland and ducts which produces ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 45. Outsourced Data and Cloud Computing As we know that cloud is a drastic data center for outsourced data. Cloud is a familier tool because of its useful architectural tools. Data sharing is another common habituated property to the common people. These data sharing include video data in social networks, this was done regularly through mobile devices like smart phones, tablets, laptops etc. we focused on demands on video traffic over mobile networks. Mobile network consist limited bandwidth and long buffering time. To overcome these issues we suppose adaptive mobile video streaming, efficient social video sharing. These two approaches shows scalable results in social network environment. Introduction Cloud computing is the provision of dynamically scalable and often virtualized resources as a services over the internet Users need not have knowledge of, expertise in, or control over the technology infrastructure in the cloud that supports them. Cloud computing represents a major change in how we store information and run applications. Instead of hosting apps and data on an individual desktop computer, everything is hosted in the cloud an assemblage of computers and servers accessed via the Internet. Cloud computing exhibits the following key characteristics: 1. Agility improves with users ability to re provision technological infrastructure resources. 2. Multi tenancy enables sharing of resources and costs across a large pool of users thus allowing for: 3. Utilization and efficiency ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 46. The Effect Of Communication On The Satisfaction Of A... Why take another look at communication again? because most studies that have been done, do the same thing over and over. They use self reports that are coded themselves or that the research will have the participants code, tons of different questionnaires that take time for the participants to do, and it is really not relevant for the new generations. With the studies that have been done, almost half of all first marriage still end in divorce. It looks like the system that we use to study and try to help curb this just isn t working, because of the measures that are used it just speak to the generation anymore. This study is different, it will use a video game as the measure to study the effects of communication on the satisfaction in a relationship. The video game doesn t take much time, and time is very important to this generation that is always on the go. It is also a lot more relevant for this generation of couples as well. This study will also be looking at specifically communication in a stressful situation, which the studies have not covered before. This is important because every couple as arguments and by studying this hopefully it will curb the amount of arguments in the relationship and help lower the first marriage divorce rates. There was a study done just recently that looked at whether communication predicted satisfaction or satisfaction predicted communication? The study didn t really find whether one predicted the other.(Lavner, et al, 2016, p. 1 15) ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 47. A Study Of Warfare During The Modern Era A study of warfare in the modern era suggest a progression through three distinct generations. Although U.S. Armed Forces are still coming to grips with the third of these, strong trends point to an emerging fourth generation. Those who would prepare for future warfare must consider the trends envisaged here and the challenges they would present to existing forces. As the world devolves into nations with less clear borders than perhaps any time in recent military history with the closest example being the 100 years war in Europe and finds itself possessing of enemies that heretofore have been much easier to classify there is a distinct change arising in the face of war. If one thinks back to the classic wars of recent U.S. history one can see clearly defined lines of this nation verses that nation and here are the bad guys and here is where we are and where we will launch operations. As borders blur and groupings become more difficult to define the United States finds itself at a crossroads in history that, moving forward, will determine victory or defeat but also deeply impact strategy. So the research question to be answered here is, How will the United States change its strategy and definitions of states and even war in the face of rapidly changing lines of distinction between the two aforementioned terms? Some of these answers will be found in the analysis of the rapidly changing policy of the United States war on terror, but will also be found in articles as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Slide one Land Ownership Starting off I would like to explain what life was like for the average Irish citizen in the mid 19th century. Most people were tenant agriculture farmers who worked for landlords, who owned vast estates, but a great deal of them didn t, in fact, live in Ireland, which lead to them being commonly referred to as absentee landlords. The landlords allotted workers small plots of land to grow their own food in exchange for working the land growing grain cash crops. In order to sustain a high calorie diet for themselves and their families, most of these tenant farmers grew potatoes. This was primarily due to the fact you get a lot of bang for your buck from potatoes as they yielded quite a bit of calories per acre. Outside of what the tenants ate, Ireland produced quite a bit of food but this was mostly exported to England where ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 49. Alcatraz Escape Proof Prison In 1934, Alcatraz seemed a perfect place for an escape proof prison, for America s worst criminals. Escape attempts were rare in Alcatraz. But on June 11 1962, 3 prisoners were known to escape from Alcatraz. Frank Lee Morris, and brothers John and Clarence Anglin. They broke out of their prisons, never to be found, Alive nor dead. It s still a mystery whether they survived or drowned. The case is still opened some 40 years later. • 50. Nomads Of Brazil Brazil was inhabited for at least 8000 years ago by Amerindian nomads and semi nomads. Eventually some of the nomads settled down to farm and eventually formed cities. They lived like this for thousands of years until the Europeans arrived. In the 16th century, Portugal began to colonize Brasil. The Portuguese brought many diseases which resulted in the deaths of the majority of the natives. The surviving natives were decided to be civilized by the Portuguese. This meant mixing with their women, forcing their culture on them and converting them to Christianity. From 1580 to 1640 Brasil was slightly neglected along with other Portuguese colonies due to the Hapsburg ownership of Portugal. In 1690 gold was discovered in Brasil and thousands ... • 51. Causes Of Pollution And Pollution Of The Ocean Essay Pollution and Warming of the Ocean The ocean is a vast and mysterious part of our ocean. The ocean covers 71 % of our planet and contains over 50% of all life on earth .( Oceanic Institute ). The oceans also holds the deepest part of our planet that we have yet to explore and discover. The ocean is such a vital part of our planet and we are destroying it with pollution and mistakes that we have made. Global warming is a huge issue that we have to deal with. The world is getting warmer. Whether the cause is human activity or natural variability most of evidence says it is because of humans. Thermometer readings all around the world have risen steadily since the beginning of the Industrial Revolution in Great Britain ( earthobservatory ). According to NASA s Goddard Institute for Space Shuttles in the temperature had risen by .80 degrees celsius or 1.4 degrees fahrenheit since 1880( earthobservatory ). You may think one degree what is the big deal? You have to think how much energy it takes to raise the entire planet of the earth by one degree. The surface area of the earth is 196.9 million square miles. The cause of the temperature means that more solar radiation is getting through our atmosphere. Most scientist believe that large levels of radiation actually cause the ice age(Ice Age). So when you ask what the big deal about 1 or 2 degrees just remember that that one or two degree sent the earth plundering into an global snow ball. There is no denying that our Earth is ...
