This study compared the compressive strength of self-cured concrete to normally cured concrete. Paraffin wax was used as a self-curing agent at dosages ranging from 0.2% to 1% by weight of cement. Concrete mixes of M20, M25, M30 and M40 grade were tested. Results found that concrete cured with paraffin wax achieved similar compressive strengths as concrete cured through immersion, with strengths reaching up to 99% of normally cured concrete. Using paraffin wax as a self-curing agent can help reduce water evaporation and provide adequate curing without needing extensive water sources, especially in construction sites with limited water access.
