Military Drones Controversy
Today the use of drones has moved beyond military and recreational use and has emerged as a
trending topic of conversation within both the private sector, commercial, and military realms
(Bowden, 2013). Drone piloting has also become quite the topic of controversy due to military
drone pilots taking non traditional routes to achieve pilot certification. Militaryapplication has
changed the landscape of foreign policy has augmented our military s reach across the globe with
the use of drones on the battlefield (Cole, 2014). As far as commercial uses drones are now
augmented the way we deliver packages and cultivate vast amounts of farm (Senger, 2013). Even
surveying of lands has changed with the adaptive technology drones utilize to map land features.

Most pilots have to complete several hundred hours of logged flight training to get certified a
pilot. Potential airline pilots must accumulate up to 1500 hours of flight time to reach the
minimum level of experience required to be considered a airline captain. In the case of military
drone pilots ### hours of simulated flight time is all that is required due to the fact that drone
pilots do not ever actually have any actual flight experience. Flight simulators are often used for
flight training for agencies and departments that have the money and access to them. However
drone pilots rarely ever actually train in anything other than a simulator. Flight controls for an
unmanned aerial drone are often based miles away from the actual drone. Technology like Satellite,
GPS and other advanced computing devices allow real time control on the drone without ever
stepping for on the battlefield. Thus pilots for our military drones are deemed full fledge pilots

Guns Germs And Steel Analysis
Why do some people get the privilege to live great and others have to suffer everyday? There are
many places in the world today that are not great places to live and grow up but people don t
always have a choice. Guns, germs, and steel by Jared Diamond is written with a purpose to
discuss and reveal why some societies have so much and others have so little. He explains the
theory behind geographical luck and migration. He also talks about how these two things can
lead to technology advances. The reason behind the difference of technology and economy
advances all begins with the geography and the way that guns, germs, and steel were introduced
and how they were introduced. Geography luck is describing how lucky you are with the land
that is provided for example the closer to the fertile crescent the better and more resources you
will have. People don t understand how big of a help it really is to have a greater supply of
resources because by having a selective food resource people are able to store food. Since more
food can be stored and saved people can become more dependent on the land continuously
providing for them instead of worrying about hunting and gathering. For example, New Guinea is
unlucky due to the lack of resources and rich soil which means they have to spend all of their time
hunting and gathering to provide enough food for that day. Hunting and... Show more content on

Living near the Fertile Crescent was a huge help due to the 7,000 years of inherited metal
technology that was developed there. This put them two steps ahead of everyone that was in their
way. The Europeans location and history helped them acquire Guns, Germs, and Steel and they
were the first ones to do that. The Europeans were able to take over other people because of how
early they advanced with guns and how they were starting to adapt to the germs while others were

The Great Rift Valley Of Kenya And Tanzania
Their highly energetic and athletic style of dancing, tall stature as well as their signature bright red
clothing are just some of the unique things that define the Maasai. For many centuries, this
indigenous tribe who lives in the vast open spaces of Africa s Great Rift Valley found in the
countries of Kenya and Tanzania, believes that God entrusted them with the cattle. Their lifestyle
reflects the natural environment in which they live in as well as the rich ritual and traditions that
they have managed to preserve today. The Maasaipeople have a reputation of being brave,
responsible and fierce. Their community has its own way of hierarchal organization where the
elder men and warriors are at the top and the women and children are at the bottom. The core
image Maasai people hold with respect to themselves is that of itunga ana loo ngishu which means
people of cattle or entelapu meaning those who are under cattle (Galaty 4). Most of the rituals and
values of the Maasai people depend on their age and the relationship of the tribe is based on a strict
set of rules. The Maasai s patriarchal society, traditional rituals, and unique food system have made
them unique among the other African Pastoralists.
As I have previously mentioned, men are more dominant than women in the Maasai society. Maasai
men are supposed to protect their homes, maintain water sources, and protect their livestock (
Maasai Tribe: True Reflection of Africa, 2013). Also, the warriors in the community have

Executive Summary American Rehabilitation Centers
American Rehabilitation Centers (ARC) is a leading provider of outpatient rehabilitative
services. Their strategic goal is to use noninvasive treatments to lower direct costs and reduce
recovery time to each patient. The company is looking to expand into sports medicine as it is a
rapidly growing field, this case study is to examine two business opportunities to see which would
be the better option given their goal. Proposal A is for one single large investment. Proposal B is a
staged entry that would take place in two stages.

To take a closer look at the financing, the proposal to date is that the general partners will be
made up of the group and the hospital. The general partners will contribute $500,000 and will
retain 100% management control over the hospital. The limited partners will supply $500,000 but
have no liability beyond the initial investment. The hospital will borrow $1 million from Miami
National Bank for a five year term with interest rates of 8%. This initial $2 million will purchase
and pay for the start up costs associated with the machine.
As the current proposal stands the limited partners are to receive their initial investment the first
two years of the project whether it is successful or not. In order to look at what that means the
numbers are important. A cash flowanalysis is important to determine feasibility of the project.
So, three cash flow statements are prepared; best case scenario, most likely, and worst case
scenario. In the best case scenario, the cash flow distribution would be $247,588 to the general
partners and $577,294 to the limited partners. As you can see the limited partners are paid twice
as much as the partners since in the proposal the limited partners are to receive their initial
investment back first. However, after year one the cash flows are split 50/50 general partners to
limited partners, this is good for all parties involved. In the most

of Business, The Economist Profit Motive, The Guardian Consideration of social responsibility is
an important concern for the successful operation of a business. A business can be structured with
the sole intention of maximizing profit, or it can be structured in a way in which social obligation

associate himself with his father and the business. While Joe is a reflection of Gesselschaft,
rejecting all social responsibility for profit, Chris refuses to do so, and is an example of
Geimenschaft. He says he is not inspired by the business and would rather build something he
can give himself to. He feels guilt to make money out of a business which does not value the
men on whose labour it relies. The imperatives of the market are not factors that would alter
Chris s association with Geimenschaft. Joe Keller, on the other hand, chose to move into the

What to Do in Case of a Pandemia
There are many pandemics that could happen to most Americans. Such as Black outs, zombie
apocalypse, government collapse, nuclear fallout etc. if one was to survive the pandemic here
are some skills that might be a necessity. Knowing first aid is a priority. In a situation that calls
for first aid it is important to remember the Three C s Calm Cool and Collected. You must stay
calm cool and collective in order to not escalate you hart rate making you bleed more or spread
poisoning faster than normal. Even though one is calm cool and collective one still must move
at a fast pace in order to address the problem at hand. In a survival situation a person should not
take any risk that is not necessary or helpful to his well being. If it is a large epidemic one should
look for survivors around him for help. Even though one might want to survive on his own it is
better to survive as a unit, and it will be more productive than doing it on his own[Dual
Survival]. If one is assessing others around he should ask what they are feeling then checks his
breathing, and look for any visible wounds on the body. If there are wounds on the body apply
pressure with a shirt or gauze if available, apply the material available till the bleeding is no
longer visible. If the persons leg is broken or fractured, one can use a branch to stabilize and
create a make shift cast in a survival situation [the complete sas survival manual]. If sunburned

1. Introduction
Mobile technology or known as handheld computers originates as a one of the trend nowadays,
which people use in their daily life. Examples of mobile device are smartphones, and tablet. Mobile
technology has been more widely and quickly adopted than any other innovation ever (Pope et al.,
2010). As we know, in this new digital era, everyone has their own phone and they use it every day
in order to communicate with others and get information. Jacobs (2009) stated that mobile access
has become a universal form of communication. It means that everyone uses mobile technology
everywhere and anywhere they wish. The

China’s Education System
Education is the process of learning and acquiring knowledge at school from a teacher, receiving
knowledge at home from a parent, a family member, and even friend. Education is a key that
allows people to move up in the world, seek better jobs, and succeed in life. Education is one
factor that affects job positions people hold, advance in their further career, the income they make,
and the title they hold. The more educated a person is, the more prestige and power that person
holds. Educationimproves the quality of life, reduces ignorance, and exposes frontiers and
opportunities not previously handled. Education also focuses on the values, attitudes and behaviors
that enable individuals to learn to live together in a world characterized... Show more content on

The similarities include administering a nationwide exam given to all the students. All students are
equally evaluated based on these scores. The test is used to determine which university students are
able to attend. There are also significant differences between these exams. In America the exams are
called the SAT or the ACT. In Chinait is named Gaokao. The Gaokao test is taken very seriously.
This test is taken for multiple days. Parents rent hotel rooms nearby so their student can have a
quiet lunch and take a nap. Some Chinese students go insane for this exam. They study for the
Gaokao while hooked up to IV drips. The IV drips contain amino acids which would provide the
students with extra energy (Kristof). This would definitely never be allowed in U.S. And lastly,
merit pay is different in China than U.S. The Chinese believe in merit pay and in using student test
scores for teacher evaluation. For example, when the 9th graders leave middle school they are
tested to see which high school they are qualified to attend. Since the same teachers have had those
students for three years, they compare their entry score to their exit score. The classes that showed
the most academic gain resulted in that banzhuren receiving a bonus that might range from 3000
Yuan to 6000 Yuan (one month or two months pay). The same is true at the high school level. This
is not the case in America. Teachers are evaluated through principals attending the classroom setting

The cases introduce two successful basketball coaches with good reputation and both of them
have great career records of winning. One is Mike Krzyzewski, a 57 year old man who is
coaching the college basketball team of Duke University. Another one is Bob Knight, who was one
of college basketball s most successful and innovative coaches. Bob Knight was a mentor to
Krzyzewski throughout Mike s coaching career, which began at Army and then moved to Duke
University in 1981. Even though Coach Knight was the key person who opened Mike s career, the
two coaches have totally different leadership styles. Mike Krzyzewski follows a simply rule which
is building trust between him and his players. Members in his team treat each other like families.

Trust is his basic assumption about motivation and leading. He asked players to set standards
instead of forcing system on them. He focused on communication and positive reinforcement.
For instance, Mike never use a whistle in the gym, instead, he always communicated up close
and personally, he used eye to eye contact to read players real feeling. According to Coach K, a
successful leader should maintain a certain amount of discretion. When it comes to Coach Knight
s leadership style, I want to consider it be a demanding leadership style. Since Knight always
demands his players for following his rules and doing exactly what he says. In his approach, the
basic assumption about motivation and leading is discipline. He stated that the most important
thing for winning a game is preparation. Instead of a will to win, every player in his team should
have the will to prepare to

Difference Between Slavs And Italian Immigrants
Slavs and Italians, being the most predominant immigrants during the late 1800 s, faced a series
of appalling living conditions. For instance, Slavs who formed families and lived in the
company built homes were most of the time in need and cultivated flora in order to survive on
the very low wages paid by companies. Woman as a part of the family had to also contribute
economically, this included taking jobs at textile mills and taking care of the gardens at home.
Protein supply for these immigrants was small. Immigrants worked 10 12 hours a day, they relied
on a diet with high levels of carbohydrates and starch, which provide them with temporal energy
and fulfillment. Italians, as said in text had it worse , instead of living in company owned

Pygmalion by George Bernard Shaw
Pygmalion, written by George Bernard Shaw, is well known for its portrayal of the rich and the
poor. At the time of its publication, it was common belief that the poor were morally inferior to
the rich. Pygmalion argues the opposite. Bernard Shaw used both static and dynamic characters
to demonstrate the equality between the social classes regarding morals and intelligence. In the
case of Eliza Doolittle, the differences are seen as she transitions from poverty to the middle
class. In Pygmalion, she is shown to be a dynamic character, undergoing many changes of
personal strength, articulation, and freedom. Throughout Pygmalion, as Eliza Doolittle
increases both her confidence and her self control, her development of personal inner strength is
demonstrated. When Eliza is first introduced at the beginning of the play, she is spirited, but
lacks confidence and willpower. By the end of the play, she has become bold, self assured, and
is in control of her actions and behavior. In Act I, she is crafty enough to lie about having change,
but when it is shown that a bystander is taking down every blessed word [she is] saying, she
becomes hysterical, declaring that she is a respectable girl (1). In Act ???, when Eliza is
practicing her new behavioral and oral skills at Mrs. Higgins home, she is confident enough to
keep up her disguise. She is even known to have enough self control to cease her chattering and
politely bid farewell when Higgins suggests that it is time to

The Writer s Credibility And The Reader s Efficiency
The purpose of substantive editing is to maximize the writer s credibility and the reader s efficiency.
This stage intends to produce a revised manuscript that improves the readability and
understandability of the readers, as well as maintaining the purpose of the text. Editors suggest
appropriate changes according to what the writer wants to accomplish and the intended audience
which determines the content, organization and tone. Thus, the end result of substantive editingis a
balance between the writer s intentions with the readers expectations which in turn serves the text
reliable, accurate and hopefully, useful. Readers respect authors when there is no faulty or missing
information. In order to protect the writer s credibility, editorsconsult subject experts to guarantee
the content is correct and up to date. They keep in mind who the intended audience is (their level
of sophistication, their financial status, their sensitivity towards the topic) so they can determine
what information, which tone, what structure is suitable for them, and still ensure the objectives
of the text are explicit. There will be times when writers forget necessary details that [is needed to
validate] a conclusion (Sutcliffe 583). The lack of content can break a reader s flow: they will not
be prepared to follow the upcoming material. Editors do not want the audience confused because
unpredictability can increase the chances of losing a reader s interest. When there is complete

The Horrors Behind Cherokee Removal
The Horrors Behind Cherokee Removal
The day the colonists first set foot on American soil marked the beginning of an arduous struggle
for Native Americans. When the colonists first arrived, there were ten million Native Americans;
over the next three centuries, over 90% of the entire population was wiped out due to the white
man. The removal of Native Americans marks a humiliating period of United States history.
President Andrew Jackson attempted to consolidate the Native Americans when he told them
circumstances render it impossible that [they could] flourish in the midst of a civilized community.
[They] have but one remedy within [their] reach, and that is to remove to the west. And the sooner
[they] do this, the sooner [they] will commence your career of improvement and prosperity. In
contrast to Jackson s justification for removal, historians such as Charles Hudson describe removal
as a gentle, almost antiseptic word for one of the harshest, most crudely opportunistic acts in
American history. A number of American people were opposed to removal, the most notorious of
which included newspaper editor Noh Noh He Tsu Nageh. Author Walter T. Durham seeks to
illustrate the abdominal nature of Cherokee Removal in his article Noh Noh He Tsu Nageh and the
Cherokee Removal through Noh Noh He Tsu s personal accounts and through the flaws of the
various treaties signed with the Native Americans. Firstly, Durham uses the perspective of Noh Noh

The columns are labeled above each mark at the top of the paper with a descriptor to identify
which spot is which sample or standard. All of the standards need to be included on each paper so
that the components of the unknowns can be identified.
7.A few drops of each dye standard solution are transferred into the well plate to avoid
contamination.
8.A clean toothpick is used for every standard to place a small spot of the dye on the cross mark
of the paper in the appropriate column. The spot cannot get too large, or the chromatogram may
be streaky and difficult to read. Spots should not be greater than 2 mm in width. The spot may
have to dry and more sample will have to be added to get a dark spot without the spot becoming
too diffuse.
9.To prepare the food samples, a small amount of water is used to dissolve the dye and a clean
toothpick is used to transfer the sample. It is important that the food samples are as concentrated as
possible so that the dyes can be visualized after they have spread out during separation.
a. For solid candies, place a drop of water on the candy, and let it sit for a few minutes so that the
water can dissolve the dye in the candy shell. Alternatively, you can wet your toothpick and scrub
on the surface of the candy to pick up some of the color and then transfer directly to the

How To Create Suspense In Ray Bradbury s Graveyard For...
Ray Bradbury brings life to each and every book he writes including his book a Graveyard for

but the more suited is mystery. Mystery is all about how they reveal the ending to you, they
make you guess yourself and it creates suspense along the way. I will unravel the mystery of
what is really underneath this book and all the hidden terms that come with it. The book

A Hero Is A Hero
What if you were trapped in a burning building with nobody to come and save you? People need
heroes. Whether you are being robbed or your house is on fire, you need a hero. There is a
reason that heroes are so liked, needed, and wanted in our modern world. It s because heroes
instill order where there is chaos by having the kindness to do something that s right, like stand up
to a bully, but also by having the kindness to do something like rescue a cat from a tree.
The first thing that anybody needs when trying to be a hero is courage to do something right. A
hero has to have the courage to do something that is right no matter how hard or how big the task
really is. The man in the water is a good example of this because Lenny Skutnik didn t hesitate
for a split second about jumping into the water to save that lady and the man that was in the
water didn t hesitate about passing on the life preserver. It s something I never thought I would
do referring to his jumping into the water to drag an injured woman to shore... somebody had to
go in the water (pg 12 Man in the Water). He jumped in the water to save someone because he
knew that it was the right thing to do and he had the courage to do it. Every time they lowered a
lifeline and floating ring to him he passed it on to another of the passengers. (pg 12 Man in the
Water). The man in the water also had the courage to do what was right because even though he
knew he would probably die, he wanted the others to live which takes a tremendous amount of
courage. Whale Tale is also a good example for this because Michael Fishbach risked everything,
life and boat, to help a humpback whale. He swam into the water with the humpback whale that
was tangled up in the net knowing all to well that he could die from one frantic movement and
that is the courage that makes him a hero, he also was cutting the net off of the whale and had to
let it tow him around knowing that it could tip over the boat in an instant and that is why he is
recognized as a hero and that is because he had the courage to do something right while knowing
that he and his crew could have died. In order to believe in yourself as a hero and in order to be
recognized as a hero you have to

Learning the American music usually takes place through education because most of the music is
noted. However, the majority of African music is transmitted through an oral transition by the
process of enculturation. The African society thinks of music as a fundamental part of their lives.
Therefore, a gradual acquisition of the music is popular since a young age. Because of that, raising
children through enculturation contributes in knowing how to participate effectively. The
enculturation process fosters the belief of collective participation in the African music. Unlike the
American music, the African music includes different forms of participation in which everyone has

analyse the factors that cause differences in the hazards posed by volcanoes around the world (40
marks)
A hazard is a situation that poses a level of threat tolife, health, property or environment. The level
of hazard posed by different volcanoes can very greatly, from a weak eruption with minimal
impact that causes little damage, to a voilent and life threatening explosion. Most of the sixty plus
volcanoes that erupt each year are low risk, however a combination of factors can cause a volcano
to be a serious hazard. The factors causing these variations will be explained in this essay.
The first factor that must be considered is the viscosity of the magma. This can determine how
powerful an eruption is and what shape the volcano ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Anpother factor that can have an impact on the level of hazard posed by a volcano is the type of
plate margin on which it occurs. Volcanoes occuring at constructive plate boundaries are usually
much less violent than those occuring at destructive plate boundaries. This is because the magma
produced by plates moving apart is Basic, and therefoe has a low viscosity, allowing it to flow
easily. The lava is produced from a central vent or fissure and erupts regularly but not usually
violently. Also, constructive plate boundaries are often found under the sea and create submarine
volcanoes, such as along the Mid Atalntic ridge, so pose few threats to humans. As a result, the
hazards posed by volcanoes at constructive plat eboundaries is relatively low. However, the
subduction of one plate under another at destrctive plat eboundaries can form an acidic magma
chamber, due to the build up of intense heat. Acidic magma is very viscous and resisitant to flow,
meaning that there is often a huge build up of pressure, which can result in very violent and
dangerous eruptions involving ash and pyroclastic flow. This can pose a a serious hazard.
Pyroclastic flowsa are extremely dense, containing toxic gases at very high temperatures, and can
move at speeds over 100km/h. The consequences of such an unpredictable hazard can be extremely

Sir Robert Peel s Nine Principles
Of the nine principles Sir Robert Peel implemented to guide police in the late 1829s, I would state
that all nine are being used to an extent, however, each department in the United States are
different. Below are each principle (numbered) followed by my assessment of the principles in
today s law enforcement.
1. The basic mission for which the police exist is to prevent crime and disorder.
This principle is the still basis for every police department, in today s law enforcement there is a lot
more police service being provided such as; investigations, SWAT Teams, Traffic, and numerous
others to include numerous sub departments of those.
2. The ability of the police to perform their duties is dependent upon public approval of police ...

7. Police, at all times, should maintain a relationship with the public that gives reality to the historic
tradition that the police are the public and the public are the police, the police only being members
of the public who are paid to give fulltime attention to duties which are incumbent on every citizen
in the interests of community welfare and exercise.
I would say that law enforcement does not follow this principle. In today s society, it would be
very difficult to maintain this relationship. When the police are involved in a shooting, the
public says the police always used to much force. If it is a black person, it is police brutality and
they are racist. It has nothing to do with the details of the incident or that they happen to be a
criminal. The incident is never looked at and accessed by the facts, the person being stopped did
not listen to or obey the police, resisted arrest, and these reasons lead to the shooting. Basically, the
root cause of the incident started when the person getting stopped did not obey the

Russia s Peace Policy Essay examples
E.E.C. wrote a letter to the editor of The New York Times in 1899 to discuss their negative opinions
concerning the peace conference that Russia wished to set up between itself, England, and the
United States. They described how even though Russia s tsar might be sincere about wanting to
hold this international meeting, he also has a hidden agenda on his mind that he will not come right
out and talk about. The author thinks that Russiais being very deceitful, so other countries should
pay close attention and be weary of falling into their trap. The tsar might want world peace and
prosperity like he says, but he will do whatever it takes to increase Russia s power, status, and
wealth.

This would be a huge problem for the entire world. As Sergei Witte, an advisor for both Alexander
III and Nicholas II, noted in his article, Program for a Commercial and Industrial Policy ,
Russia is an independent and strong power. She has the right and the strength not to want to be the
eternal handmaiden of states which are more developed economically...She is proud by her great
might, by which she jealously guards not only the political but also the economic independence of
her empire. She wants to be a metropolis herself. (Witte, 9)
Witte goes on to describe how Russia is starting to find their place in the domination of foreign
industry. He notes that even though the country is not running at its fullest potential right now,
it will be soon. Russians have a great capacity for work, along with the abundance of raw
materials and strong knowledge of agriculture. Now that Russia has disposed of the serfdom
policies that have been in place for many hundreds of years, it is on its way to becoming a
foreign powerhouse. During the time that E.E.C. wrote Russia s Peace Policy , Nicholas II was
Russia s tsar. In 1905, he gave back some of the Russian citizen s civil liberties when he was forced
to sign the October Manifesto. Some of these rights were included trial by jury

Scarlet And Lavender Character Analysis

Why Scarlet and Lavender?
In the book Switched at Birthday, the two main characters, Lavender and Scarlet, both have
somewhat uncommon names. Usually, names of a character don t really have any significant
meaning, but in this case, the author, Natalie Standiford, might have named Lavender and Scarlet
based on their personalities.
Uniquely, both girls have a name that is also a color. Scarlet is a type of red, and Lavender is a type
of purple. But this detail doesn t seem like a silly little coincidence if you think about it, both
girls seem to match their names. For example, Lavender has a sort of purplish personality, just
like her name. The color lavender is basically a grayish purple, which gives it a kind of moody

Játékok Zongorára is composed by György Kurtág, one of the most prominent Hungarian
avant garde composer and pianist. KurtГЎg was born in Lugoj, Romania in 1926 (Kennedy,

JГЎtГ©kok ZongorГЎra is well known with its distinctive characteristics in terms of pedagogy
approach, structure of composition, and the purpose of each movement. The value of play is
attached important by KurtГЎg in this composition series as it involves the use of body as a whole
approach to play the piano (Junttu, 2008). In addition, many of the extended piano technique such
as glissandi and different types of clusters are introduced in a daring way through his pieces in
JГЎtГ©kok ZongorГЎra as a holistic modern piano pedagogy approach (Loffredo, 2009, p. 8). For
the structure of composition, it could be three types in overall: original miniature pieces, original
normal pieces, reduction of past pieces from other composers. The idea of homage in writing a
music composition and the idea of keeping the impact of traditional notation in the contemporary
piano technique are remarkable (Johnson, 2002; Loffredo, 2009)
2.3.3 Three Types of Tone Clusters
According to Barelos (n.d.), the term of tone clusters can be defined as large, dissonant chords or
can be as small as two adjacent keys played at the same time . The concept of the tone cluster as
one of the extended piano technique was invented by Henry Cowell (Barelos, n.d.; Kase, n.d.;

Homeostasis In The Human Body
Homeostasis is a healthy state that is maintained by the constant adjustment of biochemical and
physiological pathways in the human body where a human is able to maintain stability,
equilibrium and consistency needed to carry out its normal reactions. An example of homeostasis
in humans is the maintenance of blood glucose levels which are maintained through the endocrine
and nervous systems. Glucose is a monosaccharide sugar and is the only sugar found in the blood
as fructose and galactose are absorbed through the gastrointestinal tract and is converted into
glucose in the liver. Glucose is used by virtually all cells, including neurons (nerve cells) for
cellular respiration. This sugar needs to be present in the blood at all times to fuel... Show more

When blood glucose levels rise, there is an increase in soluble glucose molecules in the blood and
is detected by the beta cells of the pancreas in the islets of Langerhans of the endocrine tissue. Beta
cells respond to hyperglycaemic stimuli by producing a hormone called insulin which stimulates
cells, especially adipose and muscle cells, to take up soluble glucose molecules from the blood.
Insulin is a short protein consisting of a string of amino acids with a particular shape. Insulin
responds to this hyperglycaemic change by converting individual glucose molecules to form
polysaccharide molecules called glycogen, which is stored in the liver and muscles and triggering
glucose transporter molecules to gate glucose into the cell.[1] This process is called glycogenesis.
Beta cells are the only cells in the body that produce insulin that enters the bloodstream straight
away. The stored insoluble glycogen causes the amount of glucose present in the bloodstream to
decrease and therefore insulin has a hypoglycaemic effect on the body. The mitochondria of cells
require glucose to drive cellular processes such as muscle movement, and the glucose metabolized

The main one presented to a grand jury was that the Mafia killed to prevent him from disclosing
mob infiltration of the Teamsters, including its tapping into the union s pension fund to finance

when the global economic situation was precarious. The growth in exports and investment over the
past ten years have supported increased employment, regional development and increased revenues
for both federal and state governments. Figures from ABS (2014) show that the mining sector
accounted for around 11 per cent of Australia s GDP in 2013 14 where earnings reached 195 billion,
up from 7.8 per cent in 2003 04. Over the past decade the mining industry has grown more than any
other industry in Australia with its industry gross value added increasing by $72 billion in that time
more than 50 per cent higher than the second largest contributor to growth. In 2013 14 mining was
the key contributor to Australia s economic growth, followed by financial services and construction.
A major contributor to the mining boom in Australia was the influx of Chinese FDI within the

C. H. Mason Holiness Movement
C.H. Mason and the Church Of God in Christ Although there were many Pentecostal churches that

Black church in the Jim Crow era south and yet it was interracial and even ordained White

The church held to the Holiness emphasis on holiness in life as proof of entire sanctification,

the church and Mason was its pacifist stance. Mason was once jailed after forbidding members

Freedom In The 1800 s
Freedom was a confusing term during the mid 1700 s up to the mid 1800 s, since there were
different types of freedom. In the 1700 s, freedom in America meant a cry for liberty and
independence from the British, but freedom in the 1800 s meant emancipation for the slaves.
Although freedom changed for the United Statesby breaking away from British rule, freedom did
not apply to everyone. Those who enjoyed freedom were white men, and the majority of African
Americans were still slaves. Life, liberty and pursuit of happiness stated in the constitution was
hypocritical; laws and rules hindering freedom and rights for African Americans were hindered and
even reversed the road to freedom for black Americans. The introduction of cotton as a major...

Americans were able to get their freedom from the British because they felt oppressed and how the
rights should be extended to African Americans because they too are oppressed. Douglass states

Differences Of Abrahamic Religions
Throughout the duration of human history, one question has been omnipresent in the minds of
philosophers and common folk alike: Does god exist? While dozens of religions have been
established with unique and varying elaborations on this question, the three principal Abrahamic
religions stand out for their massive accumulations of devoted followers. And though the
fundamentals of the Abrahamic religionsare inherently different, they all share similar ideology on
the afterlife. Furthermore, these three religions homogeneously stress the importance of prayer as a
means to achieve fulfillment. And although there are many parallel ideas and practices, these
religions also host an abundance of differences. Namely, the difference in the interpretation of the
Old and New Testaments. Moreover, Abrahamic religions even draw differences in their dietary
restrictions. One of the more interesting points of concurrence in the three major Abrahamic
religions is the belief in an afterlife. Though conditions of the afterlife in Abrahamic religions vary,
Islam, Christianity, and Judaismall emphasize the importance of staying in god s grace in order to
ascend to a variation of heaven after the physical body dies here on Earth. In these regions
worshippers are promised post mortal nirvana after death in exchange for their servitude in life.
Conversely, in Christianity and Islam, if a follower veers from the righteous path they are likely to

Cause And Cons, Causes And Effects Of Deforestation
Background
An environmental issue that has been affecting the globe for years is deforestation. National
Geographic defines deforestation as the clearing of forests in the world on a massive scale, which
usually results in damage to the land quality. Each year, approximately eighteen million acres of
forest are destroyed and until date, almost half of the tropical forests worldwide have been cleared.
( Deforestation: Facts, Causes Effects )
Causes of Deforestation
There are numerous causes of deforestation, which vary according to region and purposes, whether
natural or manmade. However, generally, the three main reasons for the destruction of forests are
for agricultural purposes, logging and ¬¬urbanization.
Agricultural activity ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Some common and well known negative effects of it are the greenhouse effect, soil
impoverishment and the loss of biodiversity.
The global crisis of global warming is further heightened because of deforestation. Forests play a
significant role in ensuring that greenhouse gases do not enter the atmosphere by regulating the air
with its natural processes.
Soil impoverishment, is caused during the destruction of forests by increasing the chances of soil
erosion and flooded. Soil erosion is caused by rainfalls and poor crop growth, as there are no
crops protecting and holding the soil together. This would affect the fertility of the soil due to the
depletion in its nutrients. In the long run, the soil would lose its ability to sustain crops. ( What Are
The Benefits of Forests and the Consequences of Deforestation? )
Also, seventy percent of the world s animals and plants are based in forests. Deforestation causes

Spiritual Awakening During The Great Awakening
Spiritual vs Political
When people think of the Great Awakening they think of an animated spiritual uprising in the
1700s. Is the spiritual awakening of America the most significant part of the Great Awakening? The
Great Awakening was a spiritual awakening during the 1730s through the 1770s, reaching its height
in the 1740s. Taking place in both England and the colonies, George Whitefield, Jonathan Edwards,
Theodore Frelinghuysen, and Gilbert Tennent were the distinguished preachers. Although these
men preached to thousands, the main way people heard about Christianity was through their friends.

They argue that the spiritual impact was momentous because church membership increased during
the Great Awakening. Between 25,000 and 50,000 new Christians were added to the churches in
[New England] whose total population was then about 300,000. (Clouse 92) However, this idea is
invalid because church membership returned to its previous numbers after the Great Awakening.
The gain in church membership was not significant in the long term as there were many false
conversions during the Great Awakening which diminished its [spiritual] influence. (Clouse 93)
Additionally, people argue that, as a result of newfound religious freedom, the government no
longer mandated personal beliefs. This is also untrue. Even today, the courts establish laws that
govern moral issues. Recent examples of this are the recent passage of a federal law that allows
homosexual marriage and the resulting incarceration of Kim Davis, a county clerk in Kentucky,
who opposed the law.

A good movie about a person s life, especially one that involves real life wars has to be

between minor and average sized Japanese manufacturers, leading Chinese manufacturers and
traditional Chinese manufacturers. Statistical results indication that leading Chinese manufacturers

To decrease pollution, advanced countries, monitored by unindustrialized countries, have enacted
rules to control environmental effects
Over the whole life series of products. Classic examples are two European Union advices, namely,
the Re strictions of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) from the sellers side, and the Excess Electrical
and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) for end of life products. Also these specific principles, further
general rules such as Chinese circular economy promotion laws have been indorsed (Geng and
Doberstein, 2008). At the same time, additional general programs such as eco industrial park
enterprises have been implemented in both developed countries (Conticelli and Tondelli, 2013,
Romero and Ruiz, 2013) and developing countries (Zhu et al., 2010a). All these regulations and
plans mostly target manufacturers, which are energy intensive and old fashioned polluters. As a
outcome, manufacturers in both industrialized countries and unindustrialized countries have
struggled to implement innovative conservational management practices to understand energy
saving and smog reduction.
Factor Analysis
An experimental factor analysis (EFA) is employed to identify the theoretical dimensions (factors)
of alertness of environmental rules/policies as well as GSCM practices. The maximum possibility

T П† gram Determination of Unreported Meteorological Quantities from T П† gram 1. Mixing
Ratio (W): It is the ratio of the mass of water vapour to the mass of dry air containing the vapours
at a certain temperature. It is expressed in gm/kg. On T П† gram from dew point temperature we
follow isohygric doted green line and read the value at the base. (It can be calculated at all levels
where dew point temperature is available). 2. Saturation Mixing Ratio (Ws) : Mixing ratio at
saturation point is called saturation mixing ratio. On T П† gram from dry bulb temperature we

On T П† gram, we follow pseudoadiabate from L.C.L. which cuts the temperature curve at 2
points. The 1st point is L.F.C. and 2nd point is equilibrium level. 14. Negative Area (Stable
area): The area enclosed by temperature line, dry adiabate and pseudo adiabate from surface to
L.F.C. is called negative area. It is also called stable area because in this area environment lapse
rate is always less than the dry adiabate lapse rate (D.A.L.R.) and pseudo adiabatic lapse rate. In
this area temperature curve always lies to the right of dry adiabate and moist adiabates. 15.
Positive Area: The area enclosed by temperature line and moist adiabate between L.F.C. and
equilibrium level is called positive area. It is also called unstable area because Environment
Lapse Rate (E.L.R.) is always greater than moist adiabatic lapse rate (S.A.L.R). In this area
temperature curve always lies to the left of moist adiabate. 16. Virtual Temperature : It is
defined as the temperature which the dry air should have in order to be of the same density as
the moist air at a given pressure. It is a ficticious temperature and its value is slightly greater than
the original temperature. TV = T + W/6 where W is mixing ratio. 17. Equivalent Temperature

Keeping Current and Saving Lives
Medical technology is advancing rapidly with each passing minute. It is becoming more urgent for
health care facilities to invest in equipment that is current and state of the art. Behind these
advancements are proven statistics that certain equipment is a necessity when diagnosing and
treating patients. We, as health care workers, owe it to our patients to have the best possible
equipment in our facilities. Aside from non melanoma skin cancer, breast cancer has become the
most common cancer among women in the United States. Breast cancer does not discriminate. It is

There is also an unmatched level of speed and versatility when operating the MAGNETOM (
Magnetom espree , 2013).
When making a purchase to improve on many areas of operations there are always factors to take
into consideration. There will be a great amount of capital expenditure for this equipment;
however the potential for higher return on investment is remarkable. The initial cost of
purchasing the MAGNETOM is approximately $ 1 million. There will be an additional cost of
$500,000 to operate and maintain the machine. These costs will be reimbursed within the first
eight months of extensive utilization if the all marketing for the machine is on point. Since we are
currently paying a technician to operate our out of date machinery, there is no reason why this
prediction cannot become reality. There will also be an offset of income inherited by the lack of
errors made by the technicians after they have trained for the new machine . ( Magnetom espree ,
2013)
Some other factors of operation to look at are scan times. There will be a significant amount of
time saved when using this new piece of technology. As we know, time is money in any business
and the amount of time saved will be viable in contributing to more income in other departments.
Another point to look at is the enhanced imaging quality. So many times we are losing time and
money on poor image results with our current machine. The quality of enhanced

Landscape With The Fall Of Icarus Essay
Daedalus Devastation There are many ways to interpret the myth Icarus but there will always be
some similar points and differences between them. The painting, Landscape with the Fall of Icarus,
was painted by Pieter Breughel the Elder is one way express his thoughts about the myth. Another
interpretation of the legend Icarusis a poem written by W.H. Auden called, MusГ©e des Beaux
Arts. This infamous fable was about a young adventurous boy falling to his death while escaping
prison with his father, using waxed wings. This two main interpretations have the same theme in
mind, humans tend to ignore situations if they are not applied to them. In the poem, MusГ©e des
Beaux Arts, the poem shows how people will neglect anything bad if it doesn t pertain to them. The
speaker in the poem notices how everything turns away..., (line 14) from a dangerous, horrible or
miserable situation. This connects to everyday life since once humans see something horrible, we
would just sympathize and walk on. For example, like the problem in Africa, humans sympathize
that the children are starving but they don t do anything that much. People don t also realize that
suffering can happen anytime even when you are eating or... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

In both of them, they have mentioned Icarus at least once and none for Daedalus. They also have
noticed about the ship leaving behind a drowning Icarus, even though there was a pretty good
chance they saw Icarus fall. This shows how people gravitate to the easier path than the harder path
of helping people . The difference they had between the two was that in the poem, Auden included
everyday life and Breughel only illustrated ships, people, and cities. They also had different
opinions about the ploughman since Auden believed the ploughman was looking up, but in the
painting it was clear that the ploughman was looking towards the ground, trying to avoid not

Compare And Contrast Orthodox Judaism And Reformism
(Slide 1)Good afternoon staff and students, this presentation will compare and contrast Orthodox
Judaism and Reformism.
(Slide 2) Orthodox Judaism and reformism can only be compared by first understanding Judaism
as a whole. So what is Judaism? Judaism is monotheistic religion that originated over eight
hundred year ago in the Middle East, with Moses receiving the law of God in the form of the Torah.
Although this is the case the first covenant between Abraham and God did not occur for another
six hundred years. The first covenant contains the promise that God made to Abraham promising
the he would become the father of a great people this is a reference to the Jewish people. He
would only grant Abraham this prestigious position only if he and his descendants would obey
God. Soon after this a second covenant was made between the Jewish people and God. God
promised to protect them and give them the land of Israel but once again only if they obeyed him.
The first and second covenant are both of significance because this is what Most of Judaism is based
upon. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A schism is when is split between a religion or organisation is split due to their differing opinions.
This is exactly what has happened with orthodox and reformism. This schism occurred when a
group of congregants in Germany began to realise that Judaism was being left behind in religious
development to combat this they decided that some of the ancient traditions have no longer become
relevant for modern day society. Out of fear that the entire religion would be lost to the ages they
began reforming the religion in certain aspects to assure it position in the

Mexican Axolotl Salamander Research Paper
There are over a million species of animals in this world, and chances are you have not heard
about a majority of them. In fact, even scientists claim that they have not been able to discover
all of the animal species on this planet so far. They discover new ones every year! Some animals
are cute and cuddly, while others are downright weird. In this article, we will list top seven weird
animals that you probably never heard about. Number Seven: The Mexican Axolotl Salamander
The Mexican axolotl salamander looks weirdly cute at the first glance. It has ghostly features
which also remind you of the pokemon characters, thanks to their funny looking faces and limbs.
They are found only in the lake complex of Xochimilco which is near Mexico City and unlike
other salamanders, they live permanently in water. Very rarely would you find an axolotl outside
of water and that too, at a mature stage of their life. Although they are typically black or brown,
the albino variety is more common, which is also quite weird. They can be quite large, and can
grow up to a foot! It is neotenic, meaning that even when it grows into an adult, it retains its
juvenile traits. Those include its dorsal fin which runs along the length of its body and its feather
like external gills which protrude from the back of its head.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

America Doesn t Need Gun Control at Gun Shows Essay
America Doesn t Need Gun Control at Gun Shows
Gun control has been a highly debated issue for several years. In the past this debate has led to the
passage of gun control legislation, the most prominent bill being the Brady Bill. However, the
national legislation concerning gun control only applies to licensed gun dealers. This has left a huge
gun control loophole at the national level, because unlicensed dealers and private collectors are not
required to conduct background checks on potential customers before selling them a weapon.
Recently, this loophole has become the center of the gun control debate. Those who support gun
control at gun shows (generally liberals) are saying that it is necessary to restrict the sale of ... Show

Pate integrates this logos, ethos, and pathos into the body of his article which moves from criticism
of his opponents, to the denial of the existence of any problem, and finally to the accusation that his
opponents have misinterpreted the facts.
This article begins with pathos in the form of argument by humor in which Pate sarcastically
summarizes the argument of those who advocate gun control at gun shows saying gun shows have
suddenly become an irresistible magnet for foreign terrorists (par. 1). He also incorporates a large
amount of pathos through his word choice for the beginning paragraphs of the article. Pate refers
to the argument being made by gun control advocates as hogwash being sold to the American
people in a slick ad campaign (par. 2). By using the words hogwash and slick ad campaign , Pate
is able to turn the reader against gun control advocacy because he makes it seem as if gun control
advocates are trying to sell the American public on an idea that is worthless. Pate also personally
attacks Andrew McKelvey who is funding this ad campaign by saying McKelvey is in a personal
crusade to restrict Second Amendment rights (par. 3). Despite the fact that this is an ad hominem
fallacy, this attack instantly turns Pate s audience against Andrew McKelvey and any issue that he
may support because Americans

Military Drones Controversy Today the use of drones has moved beyond military and recreational use and has emerged as a trending topic of conversation within both the private sector, commercial, and military realms (Bowden, 2013). Drone piloting has also become quite the topic of controversy due to military drone pilots taking non traditional routes to achieve pilot certification. Militaryapplication has changed the landscape of foreign policy has augmented our military s reach across the globe with the use of drones on the battlefield (Cole, 2014). As far as commercial uses drones are now augmented the way we deliver packages and cultivate vast amounts of farm (Senger, 2013). Most pilots have to complete several hundred hours of logged flight training to get certified a pilot. Potential airline pilots must accumulate up to 1500 hours of flight time to reach the minimum level of experience required to be considered a airline captain. In the case of military drone pilots ### hours of simulated flight time is all that is required due to the fact that drone pilots do not ever actually have any actual flight experience. Flight simulators are often used for flight training for agencies and departments that have the money and access to them. However drone pilots rarely ever actually train in anything other than a simulator. Flight controls for an unmanned aerial drone are often based miles away from the actual drone. Technology like Satellite, GPS and other advanced computing devices allow real time control on the drone without ever stepping for on the battlefield. Thus pilots for our military drones are deemed full fledge pilots with no actual time in the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Guns Germs And Steel Analysis Why do some people get the privilege to live great and others have to suffer everyday? There are many places in the world today that are not great places to live and grow up but people don t always have a choice. Guns, germs, and steel by Jared Diamond is written with a purpose to discuss and reveal why some societies have so much and others have so little. He explains the theory behind geographical luck and migration. He also talks about how these two things can lead to technology advances. The reason behind the difference of technology and economy advances all begins with the geography and the way that guns, germs, and steel were introduced and how they were introduced. Geography luck is describing how lucky you are with the land that is provided for example the closer to the fertile crescent the better and more resources you will have. People don t understand how big of a help it really is to have a greater supply of resources because by having a selective food resource people are able to store food. Since more food can be stored and saved people can become more dependent on the land continuously providing for them instead of worrying about hunting and gathering. For example, New Guinea is unlucky due to the lack of resources and rich soil which means they have to spend all of their time hunting and gathering to provide enough food for that day. • 4. The Great Rift Valley Of Kenya And Tanzania Their highly energetic and athletic style of dancing, tall stature as well as their signature bright red clothing are just some of the unique things that define the Maasai. For many centuries, this indigenous tribe who lives in the vast open spaces of Africa s Great Rift Valley found in the countries of Kenya and Tanzania, believes that God entrusted them with the cattle. Their lifestyle reflects the natural environment in which they live in as well as the rich ritual and traditions that they have managed to preserve today. The Maasaipeople have a reputation of being brave, responsible and fierce. Their community has its own way of hierarchal organization where the elder men and warriors are at the top and the women and children are at the bottom. The core image Maasai people hold with respect to themselves is that of itunga ana loo ngishu which means people of cattle or entelapu meaning those who are under cattle (Galaty 4). Most of the rituals and values of the Maasai people depend on their age and the relationship of the tribe is based on a strict set of rules. The Maasai s patriarchal society, traditional rituals, and unique food system have made them unique among the other African Pastoralists. As I have previously mentioned, men are more dominant than women in the Maasai society. Maasai men are supposed to protect their homes, maintain water sources, and protect their livestock ( Maasai Tribe: True Reflection of Africa, 2013). Also, the warriors in the community have ... The general partners will contribute $500,000 and will retain 100% management control over the hospital. The limited partners will supply $500,000 but have no liability beyond the initial investment. The hospital will borrow $1 million from Miami National Bank for a five year term with interest rates of 8%. This initial $2 million will purchase and pay for the start up costs associated with the machine. As the current proposal stands the limited partners are to receive their initial investment the first two years of the project whether it is successful or not. In order to look at what that means the numbers are important. A cash flowanalysis is important to determine feasibility of the project. So, three cash flow statements are prepared; best case scenario, most likely, and worst case scenario. In the best case scenario, the cash flow distribution would be $247,588 to the general partners and $577,294 to the limited partners. As you can see the limited partners are paid twice as much as the partners since in the proposal the limited partners are to receive their initial investment back first. • 12. Pygmalion by George Bernard Shaw Pygmalion, written by George Bernard Shaw, is well known for its portrayal of the rich and the poor. At the time of its publication, it was common belief that the poor were morally inferior to the rich. Pygmalion argues the opposite. Bernard Shaw used both static and dynamic characters to demonstrate the equality between the social classes regarding morals and intelligence. In the case of Eliza Doolittle, the differences are seen as she transitions from poverty to the middle class. In Pygmalion, she is shown to be a dynamic character, undergoing many changes of personal strength, articulation, and freedom. Throughout Pygmalion, as Eliza Doolittle increases both her confidence and her self control, her development of personal inner strength is demonstrated. When Eliza is first introduced at the beginning of the play, she is spirited, but lacks confidence and willpower. By the end of the play, she has become bold, self assured, and is in control of her actions and behavior. In Act I, she is crafty enough to lie about having change, but when it is shown that a bystander is taking down every blessed word [she is] saying, she becomes hysterical, declaring that she is a respectable girl (1). This stage intends to produce a revised manuscript that improves the readability and understandability of the readers, as well as maintaining the purpose of the text. Editors suggest appropriate changes according to what the writer wants to accomplish and the intended audience which determines the content, organization and tone. Thus, the end result of substantive editingis a balance between the writer s intentions with the readers expectations which in turn serves the text reliable, accurate and hopefully, useful. Readers respect authors when there is no faulty or missing information. In order to protect the writer s credibility, editorsconsult subject experts to guarantee the content is correct and up to date. They keep in mind who the intended audience is (their level of sophistication, their financial status, their sensitivity towards the topic) so they can determine what information, which tone, what structure is suitable for them, and still ensure the objectives of the text are explicit. There will be times when writers forget necessary details that [is needed to validate] a conclusion (Sutcliffe 583). • 16. The Horrors Behind Cherokee Removal The Horrors Behind Cherokee Removal The day the colonists first set foot on American soil marked the beginning of an arduous struggle for Native Americans. When the colonists first arrived, there were ten million Native Americans; over the next three centuries, over 90% of the entire population was wiped out due to the white man. The removal of Native Americans marks a humiliating period of United States history. President Andrew Jackson attempted to consolidate the Native Americans when he told them circumstances render it impossible that [they could] flourish in the midst of a civilized community. [They] have but one remedy within [their] reach, and that is to remove to the west. And the sooner [they] do this, the sooner [they] will commence your career of improvement and prosperity. In contrast to Jackson s justification for removal, historians such as Charles Hudson describe removal as a gentle, almost antiseptic word for one of the harshest, most crudely opportunistic acts in American history. A number of American people were opposed to removal, the most notorious of which included newspaper editor Noh Noh He Tsu Nageh. Author Walter T. Durham seeks to illustrate the abdominal nature of Cherokee Removal in his article Noh Noh He Tsu Nageh and the Cherokee Removal through Noh Noh He Tsu s personal accounts and through the flaws of the various treaties signed with the Native Americans. • 19. A Hero Is A Hero What if you were trapped in a burning building with nobody to come and save you? People need heroes. Whether you are being robbed or your house is on fire, you need a hero. There is a reason that heroes are so liked, needed, and wanted in our modern world. It s because heroes instill order where there is chaos by having the kindness to do something that s right, like stand up to a bully, but also by having the kindness to do something like rescue a cat from a tree. The first thing that anybody needs when trying to be a hero is courage to do something right. A hero has to have the courage to do something that is right no matter how hard or how big the task really is. The man in the water is a good example of this because Lenny Skutnik didn t hesitate for a split second about jumping into the water to save that lady and the man that was in the water didn t hesitate about passing on the life preserver. It s something I never thought I would do referring to his jumping into the water to drag an injured woman to shore... somebody had to go in the water (pg 12 Man in the Water). He jumped in the water to save someone because he knew that it was the right thing to do and he had the courage to do it. Every time they lowered a lifeline and floating ring to him he passed it on to another of the passengers. (pg 12 Man in the Water). The man in the water also had the courage to do what was right because even though he knew he would probably die, he wanted the others to live which takes a tremendous amount of courage. Whale Tale is also a good example for this because Michael Fishbach risked everything, life and boat, to help a humpback whale. He swam into the water with the humpback whale that was tangled up in the net knowing all to well that he could die from one frantic movement and that is the courage that makes him a hero, he also was cutting the net off of the whale and had to let it tow him around knowing that it could tip over the boat in an instant and that is why he is recognized as a hero and that is because he had the courage to do something right while knowing that he and his crew could have died. The level of hazard posed by different volcanoes can very greatly, from a weak eruption with minimal impact that causes little damage, to a voilent and life threatening explosion. Most of the sixty plus volcanoes that erupt each year are low risk, however a combination of factors can cause a volcano to be a serious hazard. The factors causing these variations will be explained in this essay. The first factor that must be considered is the viscosity of the magma. Anpother factor that can have an impact on the level of hazard posed by a volcano is the type of plate margin on which it occurs. Volcanoes occuring at constructive plate boundaries are usually much less violent than those occuring at destructive plate boundaries. This is because the magma produced by plates moving apart is Basic, and therefoe has a low viscosity, allowing it to flow easily. The lava is produced from a central vent or fissure and erupts regularly but not usually violently. Also, constructive plate boundaries are often found under the sea and create submarine volcanoes, such as along the Mid Atalntic ridge, so pose few threats to humans. As a result, the hazards posed by volcanoes at constructive plat eboundaries is relatively low. However, the subduction of one plate under another at destrctive plat eboundaries can form an acidic magma chamber, due to the build up of intense heat. Acidic magma is very viscous and resisitant to flow, meaning that there is often a huge build up of pressure, which can result in very violent and dangerous eruptions involving ash and pyroclastic flow. This can pose a a serious hazard. Pyroclastic flowsa are extremely dense, containing toxic gases at very high temperatures, and can move at speeds over 100km/h. This principle is the still basis for every police department, in today s law enforcement there is a lot more police service being provided such as; investigations, SWAT Teams, Traffic, and numerous others to include numerous sub departments of those. 2. I would say that law enforcement does not follow this principle. In today s society, it would be very difficult to maintain this relationship. An example of homeostasis in humans is the maintenance of blood glucose levels which are maintained through the endocrine and nervous systems. Glucose is a monosaccharide sugar and is the only sugar found in the blood as fructose and galactose are absorbed through the gastrointestinal tract and is converted into glucose in the liver. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When blood glucose levels rise, there is an increase in soluble glucose molecules in the blood and is detected by the beta cells of the pancreas in the islets of Langerhans of the endocrine tissue. Beta cells respond to hyperglycaemic stimuli by producing a hormone called insulin which stimulates cells, especially adipose and muscle cells, to take up soluble glucose molecules from the blood. Insulin is a short protein consisting of a string of amino acids with a particular shape. Insulin responds to this hyperglycaemic change by converting individual glucose molecules to form polysaccharide molecules called glycogen, which is stored in the liver and muscles and triggering glucose transporter molecules to gate glucose into the cell.[1] This process is called glycogenesis. Beta cells are the only cells in the body that produce insulin that enters the bloodstream straight away. The stored insoluble glycogen causes the amount of glucose present in the bloodstream to decrease and therefore insulin has a hypoglycaemic effect on the body. The mitochondria of cells require glucose to drive cellular processes such as muscle movement, and the glucose metabolized ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Classic examples are two European Union advices, namely, the Re strictions of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) from the sellers side, and the Excess Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) for end of life products. Also these speciп¬Ѓc principles, further general rules such as Chinese circular economy promotion laws have been indorsed (Geng and Doberstein, 2008). At the same time, additional general programs such as eco industrial park enterprises have been implemented in both developed countries (Conticelli and Tondelli, 2013, Romero and Ruiz, 2013) and developing countries (Zhu et al., 2010a). All these regulations and plans mostly target manufacturers, which are energy intensive and old fashioned polluters. As a outcome, manufacturers in both industrialized countries and unindustrialized countries have struggled to implement innovative conservational management practices to understand energy saving and smog reduction. Factor Analysis An experimental factor analysis (EFA) is employed to identify the theoretical dimensions (factors) of alertness of environmental rules/policies as well as GSCM practices. • 40. Essay T-П† gram T П† gram Determination of Unreported Meteorological Quantities from T П† gram 1. Mixing Ratio (W): It is the ratio of the mass of water vapour to the mass of dry air containing the vapours at a certain temperature. It is expressed in gm/kg. On T П† gram from dew point temperature we follow isohygric doted green line and read the value at the base. (It can be calculated at all levels where dew point temperature is available). 2. Saturation Mixing Ratio (Ws) : Mixing ratio at saturation point is called saturation mixing ratio. On T П† gram from dry bulb temperature we follow isohygric doted green line and read the value at the base. (It can be calculated at all levels where dry bulb temperature is available). 3.... The 1st point is L.F.C. and 2nd point is equilibrium level. 14. Negative Area (Stable area): The area enclosed by temperature line, dry adiabate and pseudo adiabate from surface to L.F.C. is called negative area. It is also called stable area because in this area environment lapse rate is always less than the dry adiabate lapse rate (D.A.L.R.) and pseudo adiabatic lapse rate. In this area temperature curve always lies to the right of dry adiabate and moist adiabates. 15. Positive Area: The area enclosed by temperature line and moist adiabate between L.F.C. and equilibrium level is called positive area. It is also called unstable area because Environment Lapse Rate (E.L.R.) is always greater than moist adiabatic lapse rate (S.A.L.R). In this area temperature curve always lies to the left of moist adiabate. 16. Virtual Temperature : It is defined as the temperature which the dry air should have in order to be of the same density as the moist air at a given pressure. It is a ficticious temperature and its value is slightly greater than the original temperature. TV = T + W/6 where W is mixing ratio. 17. Equivalent Temperature (TC): It is the temperature a parcel of air would have if all its latent heat were converted to sensible heat by means of a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

When making a purchase to improve on many areas of operations there are always factors to take into consideration. There will be a great amount of capital expenditure for this equipment; however the potential for higher return on investment is remarkable. The initial cost of purchasing the MAGNETOM is approximately $ 1 million. There will be an additional cost of $500,000 to operate and maintain the machine. These costs will be reimbursed within the first eight months of extensive utilization if the all marketing for the machine is on point. Since we are currently paying a technician to operate our out of date machinery, there is no reason why this prediction cannot become reality. There will also be an offset of income inherited by the lack of errors made by the technicians after they have trained for the new machine . ( Magnetom espree , 2013) Some other factors of operation to look at are scan times. There will be a significant amount of time saved when using this new piece of technology. As we know, time is money in any business and the amount of time saved will be viable in contributing to more income in other departments. Another point to look at is the enhanced imaging quality. So many times we are losing time and money on poor image results with our current machine. The quality of enhanced ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 42. Landscape With The Fall Of Icarus Essay Daedalus Devastation There are many ways to interpret the myth Icarus but there will always be some similar points and differences between them. The painting, Landscape with the Fall of Icarus, was painted by Pieter Breughel the Elder is one way express his thoughts about the myth. Another interpretation of the legend Icarusis a poem written by W.H. Auden called, MusГ©e des Beaux Arts. This infamous fable was about a young adventurous boy falling to his death while escaping prison with his father, using waxed wings. This two main interpretations have the same theme in mind, humans tend to ignore situations if they are not applied to them. In the poem, MusГ©e des Beaux Arts, the poem shows how people will neglect anything bad if it doesn t pertain to them. The speaker in the poem notices how everything turns away..., (line 14) from a dangerous, horrible or miserable situation. This connects to everyday life since once humans see something horrible, we would just sympathize and walk on. For example, like the problem in Africa, humans sympathize that the children are starving but they don t do anything that much. People don t also realize that suffering can happen anytime even when you are eating or... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In both of them, they have mentioned Icarus at least once and none for Daedalus. They also have noticed about the ship leaving behind a drowning Icarus, even though there was a pretty good chance they saw Icarus fall. This shows how people gravitate to the easier path than the harder path of helping people . The difference they had between the two was that in the poem, Auden included everyday life and Breughel only illustrated ships, people, and cities. They also had different opinions about the ploughman since Auden believed the ploughman was looking up, but in the painting it was clear that the ploughman was looking towards the ground, trying to avoid not having to help ... • 43. Compare And Contrast Orthodox Judaism And Reformism (Slide 1)Good afternoon staff and students, this presentation will compare and contrast Orthodox Judaism and Reformism. (Slide 2) Orthodox Judaism and reformism can only be compared by first understanding Judaism as a whole. So what is Judaism? Judaism is monotheistic religion that originated over eight hundred year ago in the Middle East, with Moses receiving the law of God in the form of the Torah. Although this is the case the first covenant between Abraham and God did not occur for another six hundred years. The first covenant contains the promise that God made to Abraham promising the he would become the father of a great people this is a reference to the Jewish people. He would only grant Abraham this prestigious position only if he and his descendants would obey God. Soon after this a second covenant was made between the Jewish people and God. God promised to protect them and give them the land of Israel but once again only if they obeyed him. The first and second covenant are both of significance because this is what Most of Judaism is based upon. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A schism is when is split between a religion or organisation is split due to their differing opinions. This is exactly what has happened with orthodox and reformism. This schism occurred when a group of congregants in Germany began to realise that Judaism was being left behind in religious development to combat this they decided that some of the ancient traditions have no longer become relevant for modern day society. • 45. America Doesn t Need Gun Control at Gun Shows Essay America Doesn t Need Gun Control at Gun Shows Gun control has been a highly debated issue for several years. In the past this debate has led to the passage of gun control legislation, the most prominent bill being the Brady Bill. However, the national legislation concerning gun control only applies to licensed gun dealers. This has left a huge gun control loophole at the national level, because unlicensed dealers and private collectors are not required to conduct background checks on potential customers before selling them a weapon. Recently, this loophole has become the center of the gun control debate. Those who support gun control at gun shows (generally liberals) are saying that it is necessary to restrict the sale of ... Pate integrates this logos, ethos, and pathos into the body of his article which moves from criticism of his opponents, to the denial of the existence of any problem, and finally to the accusation that his opponents have misinterpreted the facts. This article begins with pathos in the form of argument by humor in which Pate sarcastically summarizes the argument of those who advocate gun control at gun shows saying gun shows have suddenly become an irresistible magnet for foreign terrorists (par. 1). He also incorporates a large amount of pathos through his word choice for the beginning paragraphs of the article. Pate refers to the argument being made by gun control advocates as hogwash being sold to the American people in a slick ad campaign (par. 2). By using the words hogwash and slick ad campaign , Pate is able to turn the reader against gun control advocacy because he makes it seem as if gun control advocates are trying to sell the American public on an idea that is worthless. Pate also personally attacks Andrew McKelvey who is funding this ad campaign by saying McKelvey is in a personal crusade to restrict Second Amendment rights (par. 3). Despite the fact that this is an ad hominem fallacy, this attack instantly turns Pate s audience against Andrew McKelvey and any issue that he may support because Americans ...
