The Conceptual Framework Of Financial Reporting By...
Introduction
The Objective of the Conceptual framework project is to improve financial reporting by
providing a more complete, clear and update set of concepts (IFRS.org). Although the current
framework has been crucial in to the IASB when developing and revising IFRS s there have been
a few problems. There are areas that are uncovered, limited guidance and out of date areas. In July
2013 the IASB issued a discussion paper which is designed to explore potential changes to the
IASB c conceptual framework and the possibility of a revised framework. The Conceptual
Framework sets out the concepts that underlie the preparation and presentation of financial
statements (JULY 2013). This discussion document is the first step to a revised... Show more

The reference to expected flow of economic benefits causes confusion between the resource and
obligation itself and the inflow or outflows of economic benefits. There are two arguments that
the Discussion Paper 2013 addresses. The first is that the expected part of the definition implies
that there is some sort of level of probability required. This can lead to unfaithful representations in
practice due to assets and liabilities possibly not being recognised and reported in full. The
recognition criteria and guidance sheds light on this dilemma. The second argument was that the
explicit reference to the flows of economic benefits blurs the distinction between resource and
obligation and the resulting flows of economic benefits. The new definition is more specific and
allows users to interpret the definition and identify assets easier. The reference to economic
benefits has been moved to the new definition of economic resource. DP 2013 states this makes the
definition more concise and focused and shows coherently the parallel between the definition of an
asset and liability (DP 2013).
The discussion document states that it will add the term present to the asset definition and retain
it in liability in order to show that the their should be control or obligation by reporting date and
to emphasis the parallel between asset and liability. The phrase as a result of past events will also
be retained. This is to

Egypt is a republic in northeastern area of Africa; it was known as the United Arab Republic until
1971. Egypt is an ancient civilization that grew from 2600 to 30 BC. Egypt s economic range
includes involvement with mainly tourism, construction and manufacturing. Currently, Egypt s
economy is not doing well. Because of the revolution in 2011, the Egyptian economyhas gone from
bad to worse. The country s unemployment is still increasing which is causing the budget deficit.
Job creation is virtually impossible, and the Egyptian pound has lost majority of its value. To make
problems worse, the general lack of security in the country has increased. All of these issues have a
negative effect on the country. For example, the soaring... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Moreover, the unemployment also increases because of the revolution due to many employees
going on strike and not working. From February 11, 2011 to February 11, 2013, the unemployment
rate has increase by 1.4% (Central Bank of Egypt.) At this rate the country s unemployment will
just keep decreasing if something is not done. Currently, Egypt s economic has been taking a
number of harmful tolls from many different factors. For example, underground dollar trade and
political instability has been reported to effect Egypt s economic in a negative way. The
underground dollar trade causes a negative effect because According to Middle East Online
website, money is sought on Cairo s black market and currency traders at banks say they haven t
been able to meet their clients demand through official channels. This makes it difficult for
people to get the proper loan they may need to get a home or car. The black markets are
worsening the economy. This has been a problem in the past when Egypt was struck with a
thriving black market during economic insecurity in 2003. Black markets are affecting the banks of
Egypt. Banks are forced to trade dollars in fixed ranges around the central bank s sale cut off prices
for interbank, commercial and retail transactions, giving rights sizable encouragement over
authorized exchange charges. Although Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak stepped down, Egypt s

Sustainability Is Not Green
What is sustainability? In contemporary design, sustainability is a furious warrior under a green
coat. People usually attribute sustainability with the color green, essence of nature or love and care
for mother earth. In the context of construction, this means placing plants in buildings, installing
green roofs and use local construction materials. Sustainability is much more than a green coat
concept draped over buildings. Sustainability is strong, a courageous idea that would change the
future.
To sustain is to withstand and endure without giving away. A sustainable civilization should not
empty natural resources and endanger the environment. To sustain is ...to meet the needs of the
present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.
Preservation runs parallel with the concept of sustainability. To sustain is to preserve the current.
To Sustain is to discard the idea of wastefulness. Concern about the environment and preservation
of natural resource had become a heated debate among citizens, designers, and politics. United
States alone uses a significant among of world s energy and produces a great amount of
greenhouse gas. According to U.S. Department of Energy s EIA for 2007, commercial and
residential buildings consume about 40 percent of the energy usage in the United States. Building
constructions plays an important role in sustainable development and environmental preservation
because building life cycle starts with

Self-Medication In Wild Animals
Research indicates that wild animals utilise aspects of their natural environment to self medicate in
at least three ways. The use of rough plants as a type of intestinal scour is a prevalent technique for
the removal of internal parasites. Some animals also poison their internal parasites by ingesting
toxic plants found in their natural habitat. In addition, in order to neutralise toxins in the plants they
eat, some wild animals engage in geophageous behaviour.
A widespread method of self medication in wild animals is the use of abrasive plants to purge the
digestive system. Research conducted on two continents shows that some wild animals deliberately
consume plants whose leaves are covered with microscopic hooks which scour the intestines. ...

Geophagy is the consumption of soil, and in wild animals this practice has the effect of
neutralising the defensive poisons produced by plants. For instance, researchers discovered that
some tropical birds practise geophagy when they consume seeds that contain alkaloids, which are
toxic. In an experiment with seed eating macaws scientists discovered a direct link between the
consumption of clay and the reduction of alkaloids in the birds bloodstreams. Furthermore, the
leaves of many tropical plants contain high levels of toxins, and scientists have observed that
herbivores in tropical regions regularly consume clay. Elephants, for example, only cease
consumption of clay during specific times of the year when their diet changes from leaves to fruit.
As a result, researchers have concluded that these wild animals ingest clay in order to neutralise the
poisons contained in the plants they

Emerson s Metaphor Of Self Reliance
Through excellent metaphors, Emerson stresses that you must first trust yourself to achieve
greatness from your own genius, to realize your potential, and to be self reliant. Your inner
genius, when tapped into, allows you to build self reliance. Some people might argue that you
only need to depend on yourself. If you are totally self reliant you re going to have a narrow
perspective because you can only pull from your own life experiences or from your own family s
or community s involvement. However, I am arguing that Emerson uses strong metaphors to show
that even with a belief in individualismand self reliance, one must also trustother sources such as
society and God.

The individual must also love Him. Emerson states, Love, which is the essence of God, is not
for levity, but for the total worth of man. (1518) You cannot love God without loving yourself
and vice versa. Where there is love, there is trust. God created society; God created us; we must
trust and love all of creation. My friends have come to me unsought. The great God gave them to
me, (1452) says Emerson. A gift granted by God is worth as much love as one shows himself. I
find them, or rather, not I, but the Deity in me and in them, both deride and cancel the thick walls
of individual character. (1453) Society can become jovial and loving when the trust and love
transcends the physical and becomes part of God. When we are all in tune and play our notes, the

Successful Law Enforcement Agency Management
Rank does not confer privilege or give power. It imposes responsibility. (Peter Drucker) An
effective manager can be the difference between a successful law enforcement organization or its
failure. There are several theories on effective management in law enforcement and the business
world alike. Some of those theories can cross over and be helpful for a law enforcementmanager. A
manager can have the knowledge of all theory relative to law enforcement management, but without
understanding several key concepts, the manager will in turn not be effective. An effective law
enforcement manager is responsible for far more than just managing employees, unlike the business
world. Effective law enforcement managers decisions likely impact the safety of the citizens within
the jurisdiction, and that is the greatest responsibility. There are several components that will allow
a law enforcement manager to be effective. Out of those components there are three primaries that
are of upmost concern. Those three components are effective communication, organizational skills,
and empowerment. The number one component that will make a law enforcement manager
successful and in turn will make the agency successful is communication. Effective communication
is the most important element for any successful law enforcement agency. The law enforcement
manager must be able to successfully communicate his or her desires, wants, and goals throughout
the entire organization. Many people problems

Leadership And Servant Leadership In The Galileo Seven
In the episode The Galileo Seven , Mr. Spock is in command of a space shuttle craft, which crash
lands on a hostile alien planet. His leadership style and behaviour cause conflict and resentment
amongst the crew of the shuttle craft, as he battles to extract them from the alien planet. Ultimately,
he could save the remaining crew and himself and get back to the USS Enterprise.
The leadership style of Spock can be analysed using several leadership theories that was introduced
during the lecture series such as Trait Approach, Skills Approach, Behavioural Approach,
Transactional Transformational Leadership, Situational/Contingency Approach, Path Goal Theory,
Authentic Leadership and Servant Leadership.
Looking at the Trait Approach it assumes that Leaders are exceptional people, born with innate
qualities, destined to lead. Considering the background of Mr. Spock he was not considered as a
first choice for leadership because captain Kirk was presumed to be better suited for leadership
according to this leadership theory. However, as a lot of other theories suggest a leader cannot be
only assessed by innate qualities. In the mid 20th century, the trait approach was challenged by
research that questioned the universality of leadership traits. Stogdill (1948) suggested that no
consistent set of traits differentiated leaders from non leaders across a variety of situations.
(Nothhouse, 2016) (Stogdill, 1948)
Considering the Skills approach it suggests that leadership is not only about innate characteristics.
Several skills and abilities which can be learned and developed helps a person to become a better
leader.
Based on field research Katz (1955) suggested that effective administration (i.e., leadership)
depends on three basic personal skills: technical, human, and conceptual. Technical skill is
knowledge about and proficiency in a specific type of work or activity. Human skill is knowledge
about and ability to work with people. Conceptual skills are the ability to work with ideas and
concepts. (Northhouse, 2016) (Katz, 1955)
Considering the case of Mr. Spock; in my opinion Mr. Spock was very well equipped with both
Technical skills and Conceptual Skills which helped him to be a successful leader. However, he

Racial Differences Of The African American Race
Racial differences is one of the most common reasons why most disturbances and conflicts
happens in our world. The African American race seems to be dealing with this issue for a very
long period of time. Between the early 1900 s and the 1960 s three very influential individuals
looked to change the mindset of the African Americans in their time and establish their way of
equality and equity. Where three different mindsets and ideas all with the common goal of raising
the average African Americans human value and worth higher. The oppression of the people of
their own race fueled their drive to make a difference. A change was a must and these three
individuals I will be talking about were the catalysts behind a movement they believe was going to
accomplish that common goal. From Marcus Garveyand his ideas of unifying all African Americans
to their new and own government and nationalism. Then to Malcolm Xand Dr. Martin Luther King
and their two different approach in the new wave of racial discriminatory actions in the country but
unrecognizable similar ideas. All looking to provide a racial freedom and justice for their people
and everyone not giving those opportunities.
Marcus Garvey a jamaican migrant who was influenced by the strong nationalism of his home
country and the outright unity of all the African Americans used that in his dissent. Forming the
U.N.I.A. that had claimed over 4 million followers he began outletting his outspoken words in

The Cost Of A Cell Phone Network On Meaningless Crimes And...
All cell phones register their location with cell phone networks several times a minute, and this
function cannot be turned off while the phone is getting a wireless signal (Cell Phone Location
Tracking Public Records 1). Inmates can be monitored in many different ways, from cell phones
to tracking anklets. The Tracking Release Program should be put into effect more than it already
is. This change will stop the waste of tax payer s money on meaningless crimes and other people
s mistakes. It costs $700.00 a month to house one inmate and the cost of one employee s hourly
wage of $10.50 (U.S. Marshal Service 2). Compare the cost to house one inmate to the cost of
hiring one employee. The cost is substantially different. By the end, you will have a basic
knowledge of how this program will save money and create jobs.
First of all, not all inmates should be subjected to prison for their crimes. For example, not every
crime is considered high priority, so this would mean they have a misdemeanor. A misdemeanor is a
low level case where the person gets prosecuted, but not labeled as a high risk. With a
misdemeanor, inmates could be put into the tracking reform program. The people who qualify for
this would be breaking and entering, drugs, stalking, and probation for an entry level parole. The
program also provides an extra layer of supervision with the goal of enhancing public safety in the
community (Jackson 1). This program creates a safety net by monitoring the time and

Arnie Plagiarism
Hi Everyone,
Regarding the College Paper Case Study, I have to say that Reggie and Arnie share almost the same
amount of responsibility, they were both committing plagiarisms. Furthermore, I think that Arnie
was more guilty because he was ought not just to warn Reggie about the consequences, but also he
was responsible for reporting Reggie s behavior as stated in the UoPeople Course Catalog (2017),
Students encountering suspected cases of cheating should discreetly report the violator to their
Course Instructor (p. 139).
What do I think about plagiarism? well, it is definitely a problem which is present in many
aspects of our life these days. For example, in my field of work, I have seen programmers
delivered solutions that they don t even understand or are capable of improving, simply because
what they did was just to copy and paste their code from a forum. You may argue that it is code,
and it could look really similar one to another, but the truth is that code means ideas, and those
could also be plagiarised. Sadly this is a problem which is not getting any better, especially
nowadays where people are able to copy images, music, and videos from any source through the
internet basically without any effort. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
What I would do or recommend to avoid it, is this:
Always take notes of the source of every material you use for your papers in case you need to cite
and reference any of them.
Use tools like an online plagiarism checker, because you may write something you read a long
time ago and that also needs to be cited and referenced.
If you are not sure you are plagiarising, better cite and reference the material to be sure.

Evolutionary Computing Based Approach For Unsupervised...
Abstract Genetic Algorithm (GA) is a stochastic randomized blind search and optimization
technique based on evolutionary computing that has already been proved to be robust and effective
from its outcome in solving problems from variety of application domains. Clustering is a vital
technique to extract meaningful and hidden information from the datasets. Clustering techniques
have a broad field of application including bioinformatics, image processing and data mining. In
order to the find the close association between the densities of data points, in the given dataset of
pixels of an image, clustering provides an easy analysis and proper validation. In this paper, we
propose an evolutionary computing based approach for unsupervised image clustering using elitist
GA (EGA) a efficient variant of GA that segments an image into its constituent parts automatically.
The aim of this algorithm is to produce precise segmentation of images using intensity information
along with their neighbourhood relationships. Experimental results from simulation study reveal
that the algorithm generates good quality segmented image. Keywords Image Clustering,

Affirmative Action Implications
Political Implications
As would be expected, those who support affirmative action are typically women, people of color,
Hispanics and/or Democrats, while those who oppose affirmative action are typically men, whites,
and/or Republican, as demonstrated by the graphs below.
It s clear that those who benefit from affirmative action tend to support it, and those who do not
benefit or feel that it discriminates against them are against it (though this is not always the case).
Supporters of affirmative action claim that it is the best way to increase diversity in schools and
workplaces. Diversity is seen as important because it brings different thoughts, ideas and viewpoints
to the table, and richens the learning experience for all. Another reason ... Show more content on

In 2005, Richard H. Sander, a law professor at U.C.L.A., published an important article in the
Stanford Law Review regarding the mismatch theory. It focused on how affirmative action
affected law students. Mr. Sander claimed that a student who gains special admission to a more
elite school on partly nonacademic grounds is likely to struggle more and contended that if the
struggling leads to lower grades and less learning, then a variety of bad outcomes may result:
higher attrition rates, lower pass rates on the bar, problems in the job market. A separate study
showed that when the top black students in the country were admitted into the top colleges in the
country, they tended to be in the bottom ten percent of their class. When students were in the
bottom ten percent, they were far more likely to drop out due to demotivation or classes being too
fast paced. Minority students, the study found, were far less likely to succeed at the best colleges in
the country than they were to succeed at colleges whose students average test scores matched those

Violent Video Games Is A Negative Effects On Society
Sixty percent of boys and forty percent of girls who have played violent video games have
ended up committing some act of bullying as a middle schooler. Those percentages come from
pure scientific research, and just stating that fact should be enough to convince the minds of the
public that young children playing such violent games lead to a more dangerous society.
Exposure to these violent video games leads kids to have more violent intentions which of course
leave a negative impact on society. The style and the way the games are created simply encourage
savage behavior that is not normally expected of children. Soon enough kids will see violenceas a
social norm or even worse, commit a massive crime as those have done before them. Though it
seems that many people disagree, violence in video games does have a poor influence on those
children who are the future of human society. Stylistically, video games are created in such ways
that subconsciously promote violence. In most games, the goal is to kill as many characters as
the player possibly can to move on to the next level. The rewards of gaining points or advancing
to the next level is what excites children, so in these games, when they are rewarded for
committing a violent act, children will want to continue doing so to gain more of those pleasing
rewards. Another tactic used by the creators of these games is that they put the player in the
shooter s perspective. Players of violent video games are more likely to

My Desire to Work in Game Development
As a child all I wanted to do was rule the world, I noticed early on in my childhood that all aspects
of computer games development especially programming and games design could help me
accomplish this. I have been playing computer games since before even the PlayStation 2 was
released when my brother got a PlayStation from a another family member. For as much as I
have enjoyed, experienced a wide range of platforms, games and retain my love for this form of
entertainment. One of my favourite games of all time is Kingdom Hearts, on the PlayStation 2 and
developed by Square (later Square Enix); it played brilliantly, was graphically superb and had a
perfect soundtrack.
My resolve of wanting to develop games in the future using the variety of platforms that would be
available, in empowering new technology, I can see that computer games programme gives solid
groundwork within computer science to determine ideal. It would give the necessary skills,
knowledge to learn and evolve with and within growing industry.

A Comparison Of The Epic Heroes, And The Characters Of...
Beowulf represents a type of protagonists rarely seen in the modern world of entertainment, the
epic hero. For centuries their simplistic tales of overcoming evil and their demeanor have
dominated Western notions of masculinity: Control over emotion, physical strength, arrogance,
innate morality, and an alpha male mentality. It might be ideal for older cultures and the Anglo
Saxon warriors that needed a model of morality they need to idolize, but in our times we need
more. The America we live in is more global, more diverse, more interconnected that any previous
civilization. Our definition of masculinity has changed as we progressed and learned more about
ourselves as humans. We are postmodern society, where good and evilare subjective, and we crave
for empathy and connection. Berserk s main character Guts, is such heroof our time. On the surface
the two heroes share many similarities, they are both buff hyper masculine males, they both wield
enormous swords to fight fantastical monsters. Yet there are fundamental differences between the
two. These became apparent after reading and analyzing both Beowulf and Berserk. Epic heroes
are the epitome of good. They are good. They are the personified version of a culture s beliefs on
morality and virtue. Their stories are cut out: a heroic quest/journey, good versus evil, and the
triumph of the hero over the villain in the end. Simplistic in nature, epic heroes, like Beowulf, rarely
show genuine emotion and rarely teach us,

The Three Assumptions Of Confessionalism
Many protestants, not brought up in liturgical church settings, find themselves taken aback and
confused when first reading the Nicene Creed. This is true especially pertaining to what the creed
says about the church. Unfortunately, in many Baptist, Pentecostal, and non denominational
Churches, the Nicene Creed is unfamiliar or unknown to the majority of Church members. A
common argument against the use of creeds is why use a creed when we ve got the bible? While
this may seem to be rooted in a very high view of scripture, Carl R. Trueman suggests that it is
possibly an unwitting capitulation to the spirit of the age. In short, Trueman argues that the three
assumptions of confessionalism, the past being important and of positive relevance today, language
as being a stable transmission of truth throughout time, and the need for a body or institution
capable of composing and enforcing creeds, are all countercultural in today s world. Trueman s
third assumption can sound like nails on a chalkboard for many Christians. A seemingly ironic
distrust of religious organizations exists heavily within Christianity. This skepticism about the
church is why one, holy, catholic, and apostolic church can be a difficult thing to say, let alone
believe. However, it is a misunderstanding of the church that leads to distrusting the creed s validity
when it comes to the Bride of Christ. This paper sets out to affirm that there truly is one, holy,
catholic an apostolic church. Even in

where Darren does survive but not without scars and burns and amputation almost. Darren is

Psychological Conditioning
The book begins with the Director of Hatcheries and Conditioning explains that this Utopia
breeds people by artificially fertilizing a mother s eggs to create babies that grow in bottles.
Everyone belongs to one of five classes, from the Alphas, the most intelligent, to the Epsilons,
morons bred to do the jobs that nobody else wants to do. All the babies are conditioned
psychologically after birth, to make them happy citizens of the society with both a liking and an
aptitude for the work they will do. One psychological conditioning technique is hypnopaedia, which

Why Women Still Can T Have It All Summary
In life we are told to have it all by raising a perfect family, getting a beautiful house, and having a
high paying job; but is it possible to have it all? How many people can honestly have it all, when
so many are just trying to survive? In the articles, Why Women Still Can t Have It All and Why
Men Still Can t Have It All, Anne Marie Slaughter and Richard Dorment, go through how women
function in the workplace and how there are different expectant outcomes for each. The primary
objective of Slaughter s passage was to show how women are treated poorly and how they are held
to a different standard than their male counterparts. Dorment focuses mostly on how neither women
nor men should strive to have it all because nobody can. They... Show more content on

Though I am a woman, I do not deny that men have come far in helping with at home life and the
majority attempt to do as much as they can to help their wives. But I am not saying we should
reward men for doing this; it should be the assumption to help out; I am just concluding the
evidence that they do twice as much as they used to. I can agree that women have come up in
academics because in many schools the girls are usually more academically successful than the
boys are. I feel as though Slaughter complains about how men are not pulling their weight at
home, is contradictory to when her husband took care of their son and home by himself while
she was working hours away. I do endorse the idea Slaughter brought across that nobody can
have it all because of the economy and society. On the contrary, I do not believe anyone could
ever truly have it all in at any time, even if the economy and society were more developed
because nothing is ever going to work correctly. I found it troubling that Slaughter s aimed
audience was limited only to the higher class working woman and she admits it when she states, I
am well aware that the majority of American women face problems far greater than any discussed
in this article. I am writing for my demographic highly educated, well off women who are
privileged enough to have choices in the first place. It seems

How Does Cholera Affects Forentino Worships The Ground...
Cholera takes people s lives. Cholera makes it difficult for one to distinguish one s surroundings.
A person cannot tell the difference between reality and an illusion. This disease consumes every
inch of one s being. Love does the same to a person. As a result, love is like a disease; love is
like cholera. Cholera does not only affect the Caribbean coast, but it affects Florentino as well.
Florentino worships the ground Fermina walks on. Since the day they met, he has not been able to
remove her from his mind. At one point in Lovein the Time of Cholera, Fermina vanishes from the
town. No one knows where she has gone; only Urbino seems to know the real reason his
betrayal. Florentino attempts to find information, but he is unsuccessful. Many wonder where
she has gone, and one person states, A lady so distinguished could suffer only from consumption
(Marquez 233). In the book, the quote is left alone to be analyzed. When the person who says
this quote talks about consumption, he or she refers to the consumption of a disease. But what
kind of disease? A disease of love comes to mind. When Fermina was young, she fell in love with
Florentino; she wrote to him every day. Fermina had even agreed to marry him. They acted as a

Cholera reads, Florentino Ariza had kept his answer ready for fifty three years, seven months, and

Purposes of Subscription Library
Following the years of revolution, the eighteenth century was relatively stable and peaceful age.
General improvement of life and urbanisation led to increase in the amount of spare time and
money. The commercialisation of the leisure also made recreational activity more affordable,
especially for the new middle class constituted by professionals. Their new vulnerable status in the
society led them to seek their own culture, such as participation to society activities and enrolment
to the subscription library. Subscription Librarywas first established in Liverpool in 1758, and it
spread across Britain, growing the number of subscribers along the way. It was essentially a
private library, requiring a payment of a guinea for entry and another ten shillings or so for the
annual subscription fee. In turn, the members were allowed access to the permanent collection
of the books. In this essay, I would like to discuss the possible purposes of the subscription
library in the eighteenth century, by studying the library catalogues and regulations. Firstly the
library s role in the associationalism and the polite culture would be considered. Then I would
like to discuss how the library served as a place of forming a uniformed society, offering useful
knowledge and promoting equality. Lastly, its exclusiveness would be studied. The purpose of the
subscription library could be best explained as a part of the associationalism culture and the desire
for the polite society.

Ellen Moore (A): Living and Working in Bahrain
1. What would you advise Ellen to do and why? What should be her objectives? Are there
objectives and actions consistent with what you would do if you were in her situation?
Even though Bahrain tended to be more progressive than many Middle Eastern countries in its
attitude toward women, there were still many inequalities between genders. The current situation is
that Ellen s general manager asked her to change her mind about accepting the Account controlling
position because of discriminatory practices in Bahrain. The manager, who is an uncertain avoidance

This case showed a cultural difference between America and Bahrain based on their diversified
cultural norms and standards. Ellen confronted such issues as unequal classification of people and
also religious problems, which substantially affected her, and the Bahrainis attitude toward women.
Rather than letting it be, she fought back to make the situation better and convince many people

Benefits Of Incarceration
In addition, politicians sometimes forget to mention to their people that incarcerating criminals
is very expensive. In Florida alone it cost taxpayers over $20,000 to incarcerate someone for a year;
it cost the United States over $32,000 dollars to incarcerate every inmate per year (CBS News,

Student Lo 7 Students Loan
7 student loan myths debunked
When it comes to student loans, there is a lot of information to take in especially for a new college
student who is exploring their financing options for the first time, or a new graduate who has just
started paying off their student loan debt. With all of the different information out there, it can be
easy to get confused, and perhaps even misunderstand certain things about student loans. The
following are some common student loan myths, debunked:
Myth #1: I m not worried about my student loan debt, because I can just have some or all of my
debt forgiven
Fact: It s not easy to qualify for student loan forgiveness. The criteria can be rather strict, and you
usually have to be working in a specific industry ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
You can usually get your payments adjusted and lowered based on your income, so if you haven
t exactly reached the salary you were hoping for post graduation, don t fret. You may also be able
to temporarily defer payments as well. However, you ll want to consider the disadvantage of not
opting for a standard repayment schedule. You are essentially lengthening your loan by delaying the
inevitable, which means you ll pay more interest in the end.
Myth #3: I can discharge my student loan debt through bankruptcy if I ever really need to
Fact: Not all debts can be discharged through bankruptcy, and typically, student loan debt falls into
that category. That doesn t mean it s impossible, but isn t as easy as discharging other types of debt,
and you may not be eligible. As such, it s important to not just assume that bankruptcy can be an
automatic solution for any student loan debt troubles.
Myth #4: I probably don t qualify for financial aid, so I should just take out student loans
Fact: Not necessarily. Many students qualify for some level of funding, and unlike student
loans, financial aid usually doesn t need to be paid back (there are some exceptions to this for
example, if you fail a class). It doesn t cost anything to just apply and see what you re eligible for.
Even if you don t receive enough financial aid to avoid student loans completely, every little bit
helps, and that s less you ll need to borrow.
Myth #5: I ll be required to borrow far more

How Rap Music Affects Society Essay
How Rap Music Affects Society
Rap music has the power to influence people in ways such as dictating fashion or wardrobe
choices, promote rebellious ways, and can even affect the morals you live by. The youth in
America is highly influenced by famous rap and hip hop artist due to the many relatable stories
they tell in their music. Many times the stories are speaking of hardships in life and crimes
committed. Their lyrics are significantly influential enough to have caused people to commit crimes
such as robbery, violence, and even murder.
According to Marvin D. Jones a University of Miami graduate and author of Fear of a Hip hop
Planet: America s New Dilemma, stated Chicago youth Derrion Albert was brutally killed by gang
members, many blamed rap music...hip hop music has been demonized not merely as black noise
but as a root cause of crime and violence(Jones 59). This provides a specific example of why and
how rap music has negatively impacted society, enough for them to kill a young man. He also
states that Gangsta rap, a type of rap music featuring aggressive lyrics, often with reference to gang
violence, is mostly considered black noise . He uses this term to provide an illustration that African
Americans are predominantly at the top of this rap violence.
Furthermore, rap music plays the role for urban youth in mainstream America. It has evolved
throughout the past three decades, in which rap fashion has changed along with it as well. Dating

Essay On Baseball Failure
I remember the struggles I went through at the beginning of the season. I only had 4 hits in 10

Setting: This story takes place on the Tiflin ranch shortly after the turn of the 20th century.
Theme: Disappointment is a theme of The Red Pony one example is when Billy leads Jody to
believe it will not rain but it does and Jody is disappointed in Billy for being incorrect.
Mood: A mood from The Red Pony is overwhelmed because after the death of Nellie or Gabilan
Jody was both sad and mad but his mother and Billy could feel he was overwhelmed.
Tone: The tone was gloomy but in some parts inspiring. Some examples where when Nellie gave
birth her child was healthy but she had died for it to happen.
Irony: One use of irony is symbolism the mountains symbolize barriers and the indents symbolize
rough paths which is ironic because in this story Jody goes through many rough times and rocky
roads.
Imagery: In the grey quiet mornings when the land and the brush and the houses and the trees

Marginal Utility Vs. Utility Theory
Fifty years after Jeremy Bentham s initial defention of utility, the German economist Hermann
Heinrich Gossen introduced the term marginal utility and the law of diminishing marginal utility.
The term marginal utility is defined as the pleasure or pain from an additional unit or dose of a
good. The introduction of marginal utilityto economic thought and vocabulary was revolutionary,
reducing the need to measure total pleasure or pain because Even if marginal utilities were
measured on a cardinal scale, they would tell us nothing about how much total utility there was
(even if it was maximized) because they are still only measured up to an additive constant. An
additional benefit of marginal utilitywas the introduction of the principle of marginal utility theory,
which Gossen explained as, Man maximizes his total life pleasure if he distributes his entire money
income ... among the various enjoyments ... so that the last atom of money spent on each single
pleasure yields the same amount of pleasure. Marginal utility was considered easier to measure than
utility as a whole, although still very difficult to define. At the same time, Gossen was also
introducing the law of diminishing marginal utility, which was one of the most important steps in
developing the economic theory around utility. At the time that Gossen introduced the law of
diminishing marginal returns, there an equivalent law, called Turgot s law, had already been
developed for the producer s side of

Spiegelman not only provided accurate historical information, but also incorporated an
autobiographical and biographical novel of his own life and his father s life post holocaust.
Using the genre of a comic strip was key to encompassing all three. Spiegelman s use of the
comic strip genre accomplishes his mission to present historical records as well as to present his
father s biography during and after the war and his own autobiography. The story is set in
present day New York and starts with Art going to his father s, Vladek s, house and asking him
about Poland before the Nazis took control. He uses the current day time frame as his own
autobiography in a way. He has short notes that he adds in to give the reader a better
understanding of the current situation or further knowledge and tells stories when he was
younger, plus after his book was published. Each time after his father finishes speaking about the
holocaust, he resumes the days and time between his father s storytelling and from there his
autobiography continues. He chooses to include the comic, Prisoner on the Planet Hell , which
he had made after his mother took her own life. It is the only part of the story that does not have
the characters either portrayed as or dressed up as animals. It gives the reader a quick understand
of his mother s suicide and the impact it had on Art and his father. The entire first part of the novel
is really a biography about Vladek Spiegelman in Poland

How Did Albert Einstein Change The World
Albert Einstein
Have you ever heard the bowling ball and trampoline analogy, if you roll a bowling ball onto a
trampoline it will roll into the middle. Then if you were to roll some billiard balls behind it they
would curve in towards the bowling ball. Albert Einstein is important because of all the changes
he has made to the world of science and the military, with the Theory of Relativity, the E=Mc2,
and the atomic bomb. In 1915 Einstein had first proposed the Theory of Relativity, in 1905 is
when the E=Mc2 equation was created, and on July 16, 1945 the atomic bomb had been invented.
All of these things were factors in how Einstein changed the world. There are so many ways people
can change the world such as helping the environment and donating to charity, but the way Albert
Einstein changed the world through science. He saw and thought of what others couldn t even
fathom. At the age of 16 Albert Einstein was the first to give it some serious consideration to why
this might be the case, in the final years of the 19th century. In 1675 a Danish astronomer by ...

could make an atomic bomb. Einstein was one of the fathers of the atomic age. He was one of the
greatest scientists of all time. In 1905 Einstein contributed three papers to Annalen der Physik

To Kill A Mockingbird Compassion Analysis
How often is that humans are blinded by vehement emotions and fail to grant the justice
innocent or guilty people deserve? It s common to jump to conclusions and disregard other
perspectives. In 1960, Harper Lee, a novelist from southern Alabama, wrote and published To
Kill A Mockingbird, a fiction novel based on real events Lee had experienced. She wrote about
her views on racism and parenting as well as other people s views. Exploring the depths of
innocence and guiltiness in court, she reminds her audience of compassion and how it can
influence people s decisions. Harper Lee argues compassion can change a person s perspective
and outlook on the world because it bestows insight and new views. Harper Lee wants her readers
to know that compassion is necessary to fully understand and comprehend another person s view
and that having compassion for others will make the world more tolerable.
According to Harper Lee, compassion is an essential element to understanding and tolerating what
may have first seemed unreasonably cruel. Compassion presents a new perspective that broadens
the view and knowledge towards a subject. In To Kill a Mockingbird, Atticus gives a concluding
speech after the testimonies in the Tom Robinson case, evincing Mayella s innocence and how she
is a victim of society. He claims society has pushed her into a corner where she is forced to
accuse an innocent black man. Atticus believes society to be an unjust world and that it should
understand everyone has done an immoral thing, this is a truth that applies to the human race
and to no particular race of men (Lee 273). Since all men and women are equal in what they
could experience or have done, no one should be judged solely on what they are presumed to be.
Before judging someone or creating an opinion, someone should put themselves in another s
shoes to understand their perspective and have compassion for what they ve done. Fully
understanding one s perspective can lead to a new discovery that changes opinions completely.
By the end of the book, Scout meets Arthur Radley, known more as Boo Radley, and is able to
speak to him as well as walk him home. She gets to learn more about Arthur s reality and
personality towards everything she sees

Iodine 131 as a Treatment for Thyroid Cancer
There are a lot of radioisotopes, which are used in varieties of groups. From all the radioisotope,
I focused on the element of Iodine 131 which is commonly used for thyroid cancer treatment.
Therefore, I wanted to investigate on whether Japan should continue using iodine 131 as a
treatment to cure thyroid cancer and also for the nuclear power plants. In this essay, I will
consider the advantage and limitations of getting the treatment done but also in an economic,
environmental and social way. However, throughout this essay, I will argue that the iodine 131
treatments are good but not completely good. In this treatment there are benefits of taking the
treatment and also limitations or the disadvantages of taking this treatment. It can be
disadvantaging in economically, socially and ethically. Thyroid cancer is fast growing cancer
meaning this disease is common that it spreads all over the world. According to American
Cancer Society, 60,220 people in the US is suffering with thyroid cancer in 2013, and 1,850
people out of 60,220 are not surviving. And it is said that most of the population is the children
(Graeber, Amy, 2013). Although it is spreading and many people are suffering from it, thyroid
cancer is rare that its not one of the major cancers. Out of all these issues one of them is
economical issue. Since the cost of the treatment is expensive, people who works normally cannot
afford big amount of money therefore it is becoming an issue that

Pet Vs Dog Case Study
1.Is this case appropriate to make a court order for exclusive interim possession of one or both of
the dogs?
2.What terms would it be appropriate for exclusive interim possession?
3.What is the appropriate position of the costs of this application?
4.Are dogs considered a part of household good and therefore have a right to be divided or in
someone s possession?
Rules
Pets are considered property, by law; they not to be considered or treated like children under child
custody principles. However, there is statutory protection to prevent from being treated cruelly since
pets are not treated like simply inanimate possessions.
Dogs are family property and can therefore be adjudicated accordingly and subject to the courts
jurisdiction. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In particular, emotion and attachment still matters when deciding property division. Justice Gunn
in the Ireland (2009) case acknowledges having a long history, or having sentimental value are
important factors in final cases. There are no needs of children to consider in this case. The court
agrees that it was wrong for Kelly to take Kenya, but acknowledges that he did fix it quickly. The
cohabitation agreement should determine what property was joint or separate, but the parties
affidavits differ widely.
As this is not a final case, but an interim, the court challenges if it was necessary to spend
resources and funds over dog possession disputes. The judge draws on the Justice Zaezeczny s
conclusion that it is unacceptable to unnecessarily spend resources such as court and legal counsel,
public resources as well as simply time and money on interim applications over this sort of dispute.
Ultimately, cases like this should not be applied at

Energy Commission Information ( Eia ) Essay
The United States is the largest economy in the world. According to the World Bank its GDP is
approximately 16.8 trillion as of 2013. As the U.S. grows in population, so does the demand of
goods. Is the country heading towards greater prosperity or towards a dismal hole? Is the United
States practicing weak or strong sustainabilityand should we be worried about running out of non
renewable resources?
We all know what non renewable resources are economic values that cannot be replaced within a
reasonable time frame. According to the U.S. energy commission Information (EIA) Administration
the United States consumed approximately 6.89 billion barrels of petroleum in 2013. Now, 6.89
billion barrels of petroleum may seem like an overwhelming amount of oil, but according to the
EIA we should have enough oil to meet demands for the next 25 years. The EIA predicts that the
demand for non renewable resources will be met for at least 25 more years, but what happens after
that? Some people would argue that the U.S. has been sustained up to this point in time however
others would say the contrary. So, first I would like to define my interpretation sustainability as,
being able to meet today s demand, without compromising tomorrows . Under this definition I
believe that the U.S. has been sustainable up to this point in time. Although non renewable
resources have been utilized, new discoveries are still happening.
The track record of finding non renewable resources has fared

watch he was to the point he wanted to kill himself because he was getting tired of the beatings.
His sisters would always watch Marvin get beat by their father for no reason but it was nothing
she could do because she was young and had no power and they were under their father s roof.

Descriptive Essay On Walking On Sunshine
Walking on Sunshine
When I was born in 1999 Serena and Venus Williams were on their way to becoming
international tennis stars. Apparently, my parents were avid tennis stars at the time, and so
they named me Katrina, and a few years later they named my little sister Serena. Now Serena
and I have never played a game of tennis together, in fact I don t even think she s played a game
of tennis ever. I really doubt that my parents knew that they were going to conceive another child
in 2003, therefor I find this short anecdote to be completely false. I just think my dad is old and as
it was 18 years ago he s forgotten.
My dad also told me how my parents nearly settled on the names Maya and Sara. Hearing this
makes me somewhat grateful for my name, seeing as Sarah s, are a dime a dozen in this world.
While I do find the name Maya intriguing, I don t really see myself as a Maya. One aspect of my
name that I love is my middle names, and yes, I mean middle names as in two. When I was
younger I thought it was so cool to have two middle names, and my dad s story behind the first
one never failed to make me feel special.
My dad s choice of Jewel, because at the time I was as precious as a jewel. My mother rounded off
my middle name with a simple Ann, which stemmed from her middle name. Combined together
they make a somewhat unique Jewel Ann. I think I still like my middle name, its different, I think
that s why I like it. The cherry on top of the name sundae is my last name

The History of Turkey Essay
Throughout history, the middle east has often been the focus of news reporters. A middle eastern
country that has not been exempt from this, is Turkey. Turkey has not only been a focus, but it also
has had a very long, complicated history.
The history of turkey is a very long and detailed one. Turkey was originally settled by groups of
farmers probably thousands of years ago. Today, historians call these people the Hittites. During
their time, the Hittites were ruled by kings, and had their high officials buried in shaft tombs.
Shortly after the Hittites moved in, Indo Europeans moved into the area, and formed the kingdom
of the Hittites, with the capital being Hattusa. The kingdom survived for hundreds of years.

This allowed the Turks to continue their influence. During the 1300 s, the Ottomans began to build
an empire. By 1453, they captured Constantinople. The Ottomans changed the capital s name from
Constantinople to Istanbul. During the 1500 s, the Ottoman Empire expanded and reached the
height of its power. After this time the empire began to fall apart. During the 1800 s, the
Ottoman Empire had fallen into such a state of depravity that it became known as The Sick Man
of Europe . In 1829, after losing a war against France, Britain, Russia, and Greece, the Ottomans
were forced to give up control of the Danube River. During the mid to late 1800 s, Turkey lost
many pieces of land by losing the war in 1829, and the Russo Turkish Wars. Turkey lost Algeria
and Tunisia to France, and Cyprus and Egypt to the United Kingdom. However, Cyprus and Egypt
remained part of the Ottoman Empire until 1914. During the 1890 s a group of students and
military officers secretly banded together and opposed Sultan AbdГјlhamit s strict policies. The
most influential group of these people was the Committee of Union and Progress. In 1908,
members of this group revolted against AbdГјlhamit in order to force him to reinstate a
constitutional government. This group made AbdГјlhamit surrender his throne in 1909. In 1914,
the newly reinstated Ottoman Empire joined World War I on the side of the Central Powers. In
1915, the Allies tried to gain control of the

Shawshank prison. Tommy tells another prisoner, who tells Andy, that Tommy had had a
cellmate at a different prison who bragged about killing a rich golfer and some hot shot banker s
wife, and the banker getting jailed for it. This is clearly the real killer of Andy s wife. Andy sees
the possibility of a new trial since this evidence would prove his innocence. Warden Norton
dismisses the story, telling Andy to ignore this made up story. When Andy argues with him warden
Norton sends Andy to solitary confinement, to remind Andy of his place in the prison hierarchy.
Norton interviews Tommy about the information he has. Norton is concerned about loosing Andy,
and makes a deal with Tommy. Tommy will not talk of the information he has, and he gets
transferred to a minimum security prison. In the movie Tommy is shot by guard Hadley. When
Andy returns from solitary confinement he finds Tommy gone, along with any chance of Andy s
freedom. In Andy s disappointed state he talks at length with Red. Andy tells Red of his dream of

The Aboriginal Peoples Of Canada
INTRODUCTION: Concerns of violent victimization and self destructive tendencies in Aboriginal
communities have become a significant issue in Aboriginal movements worldwide. In Canada, it
has taken the specific form of feminist inspired campaigns for only those Indigenous females that
are missing and murdered. The highly vocalized 2015 campaign for the 42nd Canadian Federal
Election drew much attention to the fate of missing and murdered Indigenous women. However,
the attention on females suggests that the inherent implication that Indigenous men s attitudes
toward Indigenous women are the problem and that the men are not victims of violence
themselves. This essay will first acknowledge the chronic problem of violence in the place of
Indigenous peoplesin first world societies and the continuing social problems that marginalize their
position. This paper will then examine the Aboriginal peoples of Canada, the violence in their
communities, and whether or not Indigenous men and their masculinities have an appropriate place
in the national picture regarding the missing and murdered Indigenous women. I will conclude with
a consideration of the extent to which if men do have an appropriate place in the inquiry and which
policy recommendations are required to address the issues that Aboriginal people confront.

Violence has become a chronic problem amongst women in Global Indigenous populations and

How Did Broadway Shows Affect American Culture
Broadway Shows, Their Time Period and How It Relates to the American Culture Throughout
American history there has been many events that have affected the way the United States is
governed. Many of these events have been documented throughout letters, movies and plays that
recreate them for future generations. It is these events and time periods that allow America to grow
as a nation. When the United Stateswere merely colonies, the Revolutionary War had taken place
in which the colonists had gained their freedom from England. Although only в…“ of colonists
believed in the Revolution it was still a monumental event because the United States had gained
its freedom. Other events like World War 2 and 9/11 played a similar role because it had a
positive impact on the American culture. Smaller protests such as The Newsboy Strike of 1899
which occured in New York Citywas unknown to the general population of neighboring states but
had a huge impact in New York. These events further helped the government of New York to
grow as a state and reinform laws that helped the working class. In both the broadway shows,
Newsies and Hamilton the setting is recreated to mirror the time period in which the events being
portrayed have occurred as well as show the importance of them on the American society. Like
most events, The Newsboy Strike of 1899 could have been prevented but many factors lead to this

  • 2. The Conceptual Framework Of Financial Reporting By... Introduction The Objective of the Conceptual framework project is to improve financial reporting by providing a more complete, clear and update set of concepts (IFRS.org). Although the current framework has been crucial in to the IASB when developing and revising IFRS s there have been a few problems. There are areas that are uncovered, limited guidance and out of date areas. In July 2013 the IASB issued a discussion paper which is designed to explore potential changes to the IASB c conceptual framework and the possibility of a revised framework. The Conceptual Framework sets out the concepts that underlie the preparation and presentation of financial statements (JULY 2013). This discussion document is the first step to a revised... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The reference to expected flow of economic benefits causes confusion between the resource and obligation itself and the inflow or outflows of economic benefits. There are two arguments that the Discussion Paper 2013 addresses. The first is that the expected part of the definition implies that there is some sort of level of probability required. This can lead to unfaithful representations in practice due to assets and liabilities possibly not being recognised and reported in full. The recognition criteria and guidance sheds light on this dilemma. The second argument was that the explicit reference to the flows of economic benefits blurs the distinction between resource and obligation and the resulting flows of economic benefits. The new definition is more specific and allows users to interpret the definition and identify assets easier. The reference to economic benefits has been moved to the new definition of economic resource. DP 2013 states this makes the definition more concise and focused and shows coherently the parallel between the definition of an asset and liability (DP 2013). The discussion document states that it will add the term present to the asset definition and retain it in liability in order to show that the their should be control or obligation by reporting date and to emphasis the parallel between asset and liability. The phrase as a result of past events will also be retained. This is to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 4. Sustainability Is Not Green What is sustainability? In contemporary design, sustainability is a furious warrior under a green coat. People usually attribute sustainability with the color green, essence of nature or love and care for mother earth. In the context of construction, this means placing plants in buildings, installing green roofs and use local construction materials. Sustainability is much more than a green coat concept draped over buildings. Sustainability is strong, a courageous idea that would change the future. To sustain is to withstand and endure without giving away. A sustainable civilization should not empty natural resources and endanger the environment. To sustain is ...to meet the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. Preservation runs parallel with the concept of sustainability. To sustain is to preserve the current. To Sustain is to discard the idea of wastefulness. Concern about the environment and preservation of natural resource had become a heated debate among citizens, designers, and politics. United States alone uses a significant among of world s energy and produces a great amount of greenhouse gas. • 5. Self-Medication In Wild Animals Research indicates that wild animals utilise aspects of their natural environment to self medicate in at least three ways. The use of rough plants as a type of intestinal scour is a prevalent technique for the removal of internal parasites. Some animals also poison their internal parasites by ingesting toxic plants found in their natural habitat. In addition, in order to neutralise toxins in the plants they eat, some wild animals engage in geophageous behaviour. A widespread method of self medication in wild animals is the use of abrasive plants to purge the digestive system. For instance, researchers discovered that some tropical birds practise geophagy when they consume seeds that contain alkaloids, which are toxic. In an experiment with seed eating macaws scientists discovered a direct link between the consumption of clay and the reduction of alkaloids in the birds bloodstreams. Furthermore, the leaves of many tropical plants contain high levels of toxins, and scientists have observed that herbivores in tropical regions regularly consume clay. Elephants, for example, only cease consumption of clay during specific times of the year when their diet changes from leaves to fruit. Emerson s Metaphor Of Self Reliance Through excellent metaphors, Emerson stresses that you must first trust yourself to achieve greatness from your own genius, to realize your potential, and to be self reliant. Your inner genius, when tapped into, allows you to build self reliance. Some people might argue that you only need to depend on yourself. If you are totally self reliant you re going to have a narrow perspective because you can only pull from your own life experiences or from your own family s or community s involvement. (Peter Drucker) An effective manager can be the difference between a successful law enforcement organization or its failure. There are several theories on effective management in law enforcement and the business world alike. Some of those theories can cross over and be helpful for a law enforcementmanager. A manager can have the knowledge of all theory relative to law enforcement management, but without understanding several key concepts, the manager will in turn not be effective. An effective law enforcement manager is responsible for far more than just managing employees, unlike the business world. Effective law enforcement managers decisions likely impact the safety of the citizens within the jurisdiction, and that is the greatest responsibility. There are several components that will allow a law enforcement manager to be effective. Out of those components there are three primaries that are of upmost concern. Those three components are effective communication, organizational skills, and empowerment. The number one component that will make a law enforcement manager successful and in turn will make the agency successful is communication. • 9. Leadership And Servant Leadership In The Galileo Seven In the episode The Galileo Seven , Mr. Spock is in command of a space shuttle craft, which crash lands on a hostile alien planet. His leadership style and behaviour cause conflict and resentment amongst the crew of the shuttle craft, as he battles to extract them from the alien planet. Ultimately, he could save the remaining crew and himself and get back to the USS Enterprise. The leadership style of Spock can be analysed using several leadership theories that was introduced during the lecture series such as Trait Approach, Skills Approach, Behavioural Approach, Transactional Transformational Leadership, Situational/Contingency Approach, Path Goal Theory, Authentic Leadership and Servant Leadership. Looking at the Trait Approach it assumes that Leaders are exceptional people, born with innate qualities, destined to lead. Considering the background of Mr. Spock he was not considered as a first choice for leadership because captain Kirk was presumed to be better suited for leadership according to this leadership theory. However, as a lot of other theories suggest a leader cannot be only assessed by innate qualities. In the mid 20th century, the trait approach was challenged by research that questioned the universality of leadership traits. Stogdill (1948) suggested that no consistent set of traits differentiated leaders from non leaders across a variety of situations. (Nothhouse, 2016) (Stogdill, 1948) Considering the Skills approach it suggests that leadership is not only about innate characteristics. Several skills and abilities which can be learned and developed helps a person to become a better leader. Based on field research Katz (1955) suggested that effective administration (i.e., leadership) depends on three basic personal skills: technical, human, and conceptual. Technical skill is knowledge about and proficiency in a specific type of work or activity. Human skill is knowledge about and ability to work with people. Conceptual skills are the ability to work with ideas and concepts. (Northhouse, 2016) (Katz, 1955) Considering the case of Mr. Spock; in my opinion Mr. Spock was very well equipped with both Technical skills and Conceptual Skills which helped him to be a successful leader. Where three different mindsets and ideas all with the common goal of raising the average African Americans human value and worth higher. All cell phones register their location with cell phone networks several times a minute, and this function cannot be turned off while the phone is getting a wireless signal (Cell Phone Location Tracking Public Records 1). Inmates can be monitored in many different ways, from cell phones to tracking anklets. The Tracking Release Program should be put into effect more than it already is. This change will stop the waste of tax payer s money on meaningless crimes and other people s mistakes. It costs $700.00 a month to house one inmate and the cost of one employee s hourly wage of $10.50 (U.S. Marshal Service 2). Compare the cost to house one inmate to the cost of hiring one employee. The cost is substantially different. By the end, you will have a basic knowledge of how this program will save money and create jobs. First of all, not all inmates should be subjected to prison for their crimes. For example, not every crime is considered high priority, so this would mean they have a misdemeanor. A misdemeanor is a low level case where the person gets prosecuted, but not labeled as a high risk. With a misdemeanor, inmates could be put into the tracking reform program. The people who qualify for this would be breaking and entering, drugs, stalking, and probation for an entry level parole. The program also provides an extra layer of supervision with the goal of enhancing public safety in the community (Jackson 1). This program creates a safety net by monitoring the time and ... For example, in my field of work, I have seen programmers delivered solutions that they don t even understand or are capable of improving, simply because what they did was just to copy and paste their code from a forum. You may argue that it is code, and it could look really similar one to another, but the truth is that code means ideas, and those could also be plagiarised. Abstract Genetic Algorithm (GA) is a stochastic randomized blind search and optimization technique based on evolutionary computing that has already been proved to be robust and effective from its outcome in solving problems from variety of application domains. Clustering is a vital technique to extract meaningful and hidden information from the datasets. Clustering techniques have a broad field of application including bioinformatics, image processing and data mining. In order to the find the close association between the densities of data points, in the given dataset of pixels of an image, clustering provides an easy analysis and proper validation. In this paper, we propose an evolutionary computing based approach for unsupervised image clustering using elitist GA (EGA) a efficient variant of GA that segments an image into its constituent parts automatically. The aim of this algorithm is to produce precise segmentation of images using intensity information along with their neighbourhood relationships. Experimental results from simulation study reveal that the algorithm generates good quality segmented image. • 16. Violent Video Games Is A Negative Effects On Society Sixty percent of boys and forty percent of girls who have played violent video games have ended up committing some act of bullying as a middle schooler. Those percentages come from pure scientific research, and just stating that fact should be enough to convince the minds of the public that young children playing such violent games lead to a more dangerous society. Exposure to these violent video games leads kids to have more violent intentions which of course leave a negative impact on society. The style and the way the games are created simply encourage savage behavior that is not normally expected of children. Soon enough kids will see violenceas a social norm or even worse, commit a massive crime as those have done before them. Though it seems that many people disagree, violence in video games does have a poor influence on those children who are the future of human society. Stylistically, video games are created in such ways that subconsciously promote violence. In most games, the goal is to kill as many characters as the player possibly can to move on to the next level. The rewards of gaining points or advancing to the next level is what excites children, so in these games, when they are rewarded for committing a violent act, children will want to continue doing so to gain more of those pleasing rewards. Another tactic used by the creators of these games is that they put the player in the shooter s perspective. Players of violent video games are more likely to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

For centuries their simplistic tales of overcoming evil and their demeanor have dominated Western notions of masculinity: Control over emotion, physical strength, arrogance, innate morality, and an alpha male mentality. It might be ideal for older cultures and the Anglo Saxon warriors that needed a model of morality they need to idolize, but in our times we need more. The America we live in is more global, more diverse, more interconnected that any previous civilization. Our definition of masculinity has changed as we progressed and learned more about ourselves as humans. This is true especially pertaining to what the creed says about the church. Unfortunately, in many Baptist, Pentecostal, and non denominational Churches, the Nicene Creed is unfamiliar or unknown to the majority of Church members. A common argument against the use of creeds is why use a creed when we ve got the bible? While this may seem to be rooted in a very high view of scripture, Carl R. Trueman suggests that it is possibly an unwitting capitulation to the spirit of the age. In short, Trueman argues that the three assumptions of confessionalism, the past being important and of positive relevance today, language as being a stable transmission of truth throughout time, and the need for a body or institution capable of composing and enforcing creeds, are all countercultural in today s world. Trueman s third assumption can sound like nails on a chalkboard for many Christians. A seemingly ironic distrust of religious organizations exists heavily within Christianity. This skepticism about the church is why one, holy, catholic, and apostolic church can be a difficult thing to say, let alone believe. Why Women Still Can T Have It All Summary In life we are told to have it all by raising a perfect family, getting a beautiful house, and having a high paying job; but is it possible to have it all? How many people can honestly have it all, when so many are just trying to survive? In the articles, Why Women Still Can t Have It All and Why Men Still Can t Have It All, Anne Marie Slaughter and Richard Dorment, go through how women function in the workplace and how there are different expectant outcomes for each. The primary objective of Slaughter s passage was to show how women are treated poorly and how they are held to a different standard than their male counterparts. Dorment focuses mostly on how neither women nor men should strive to have it all because nobody can. They... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Though I am a woman, I do not deny that men have come far in helping with at home life and the majority attempt to do as much as they can to help their wives. But I am not saying we should reward men for doing this; it should be the assumption to help out; I am just concluding the evidence that they do twice as much as they used to. I can agree that women have come up in academics because in many schools the girls are usually more academically successful than the boys are. I feel as though Slaughter complains about how men are not pulling their weight at home, is contradictory to when her husband took care of their son and home by himself while she was working hours away. I do endorse the idea Slaughter brought across that nobody can have it all because of the economy and society. On the contrary, I do not believe anyone could ever truly have it all in at any time, even if the economy and society were more developed because nothing is ever going to work correctly. I found it troubling that Slaughter s aimed audience was limited only to the higher class working woman and she admits it when she states, I am well aware that the majority of American women face problems far greater than any discussed in this article. General improvement of life and urbanisation led to increase in the amount of spare time and money. The commercialisation of the leisure also made recreational activity more affordable, especially for the new middle class constituted by professionals. Their new vulnerable status in the society led them to seek their own culture, such as participation to society activities and enrolment to the subscription library. Subscription Librarywas first established in Liverpool in 1758, and it spread across Britain, growing the number of subscribers along the way. It was essentially a private library, requiring a payment of a guinea for entry and another ten shillings or so for the annual subscription fee. In turn, the members were allowed access to the permanent collection of the books. In this essay, I would like to discuss the possible purposes of the subscription library in the eighteenth century, by studying the library catalogues and regulations. Firstly the library s role in the associationalism and the polite culture would be considered. Then I would like to discuss how the library served as a place of forming a uniformed society, offering useful knowledge and promoting equality. Lastly, its exclusiveness would be studied. The purpose of the subscription library could be best explained as a part of the associationalism culture and the desire for the polite society. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The youth in America is highly influenced by famous rap and hip hop artist due to the many relatable stories they tell in their music. This provides a specific example of why and how rap music has negatively impacted society, enough for them to kill a young man. He also states that Gangsta rap, a type of rap music featuring aggressive lyrics, often with reference to gang violence, is mostly considered black noise . He uses this term to provide an illustration that African Americans are predominantly at the top of this rap violence. Furthermore, rap music plays the role for urban youth in mainstream America. • 40. Marginal Utility Vs. Utility Theory Fifty years after Jeremy Bentham s initial defention of utility, the German economist Hermann Heinrich Gossen introduced the term marginal utility and the law of diminishing marginal utility. The term marginal utility is defined as the pleasure or pain from an additional unit or dose of a good. The introduction of marginal utilityto economic thought and vocabulary was revolutionary, reducing the need to measure total pleasure or pain because Even if marginal utilities were measured on a cardinal scale, they would tell us nothing about how much total utility there was (even if it was maximized) because they are still only measured up to an additive constant. An additional benefit of marginal utilitywas the introduction of the principle of marginal utility theory, which Gossen explained as, Man maximizes his total life pleasure if he distributes his entire money income ... among the various enjoyments ... so that the last atom of money spent on each single pleasure yields the same amount of pleasure. Marginal utility was considered easier to measure than utility as a whole, although still very difficult to define. At the same time, Gossen was also introducing the law of diminishing marginal utility, which was one of the most important steps in developing the economic theory around utility. • 43. To Kill A Mockingbird Compassion Analysis How often is that humans are blinded by vehement emotions and fail to grant the justice innocent or guilty people deserve? It s common to jump to conclusions and disregard other perspectives. In 1960, Harper Lee, a novelist from southern Alabama, wrote and published To Kill A Mockingbird, a fiction novel based on real events Lee had experienced. She wrote about her views on racism and parenting as well as other people s views. Exploring the depths of innocence and guiltiness in court, she reminds her audience of compassion and how it can influence people s decisions. Harper Lee argues compassion can change a person s perspective and outlook on the world because it bestows insight and new views. Harper Lee wants her readers to know that compassion is necessary to fully understand and comprehend another person s view and that having compassion for others will make the world more tolerable. According to Harper Lee, compassion is an essential element to understanding and tolerating what may have first seemed unreasonably cruel. Compassion presents a new perspective that broadens the view and knowledge towards a subject. In To Kill a Mockingbird, Atticus gives a concluding speech after the testimonies in the Tom Robinson case, evincing Mayella s innocence and how she is a victim of society. He claims society has pushed her into a corner where she is forced to accuse an innocent black man. Atticus believes society to be an unjust world and that it should understand everyone has done an immoral thing, this is a truth that applies to the human race and to no particular race of men (Lee 273). Since all men and women are equal in what they could experience or have done, no one should be judged solely on what they are presumed to be. Before judging someone or creating an opinion, someone should put themselves in another s shoes to understand their perspective and have compassion for what they ve done. Fully understanding one s perspective can lead to a new discovery that changes opinions completely. By the end of the book, Scout meets Arthur Radley, known more as Boo Radley, and is able to speak to him as well as walk him home. She gets to learn more about Arthur s reality and personality towards everything she sees ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 46. Energy Commission Information ( Eia ) Essay The United States is the largest economy in the world. According to the World Bank its GDP is approximately 16.8 trillion as of 2013. As the U.S. grows in population, so does the demand of goods. Is the country heading towards greater prosperity or towards a dismal hole? Is the United States practicing weak or strong sustainabilityand should we be worried about running out of non renewable resources? We all know what non renewable resources are economic values that cannot be replaced within a reasonable time frame. According to the U.S. energy commission Information (EIA) Administration the United States consumed approximately 6.89 billion barrels of petroleum in 2013. Now, 6.89 billion barrels of petroleum may seem like an overwhelming amount of oil, but according to the EIA we should have enough oil to meet demands for the next 25 years. The EIA predicts that the demand for non renewable resources will be met for at least 25 more years, but what happens after that? Some people would argue that the U.S. has been sustained up to this point in time however others would say the contrary. So, first I would like to define my interpretation sustainability as, being able to meet today s demand, without compromising tomorrows . Under this definition I believe that the U.S. has been sustainable up to this point in time. Although non renewable resources have been utilized, new discoveries are still happening. Apparently, my parents were avid tennis stars at the time, and so they named me Katrina, and a few years later they named my little sister Serena. Now Serena and I have never played a game of tennis together, in fact I don t even think she s played a game of tennis ever. I really doubt that my parents knew that they were going to conceive another child in 2003, therefor I find this short anecdote to be completely false. I just think my dad is old and as it was 18 years ago he s forgotten. My dad also told me how my parents nearly settled on the names Maya and Sara. Hearing this makes me somewhat grateful for my name, seeing as Sarah s, are a dime a dozen in this world. While I do find the name Maya intriguing, I don t really see myself as a Maya. When I was younger I thought it was so cool to have two middle names, and my dad s story behind the first one never failed to make me feel special. My dad s choice of Jewel, because at the time I was as precious as a jewel. My mother rounded off my middle name with a simple Ann, which stemmed from her middle name. • 51. The Aboriginal Peoples Of Canada INTRODUCTION: Concerns of violent victimization and self destructive tendencies in Aboriginal communities have become a significant issue in Aboriginal movements worldwide. In Canada, it has taken the specific form of feminist inspired campaigns for only those Indigenous females that are missing and murdered. The highly vocalized 2015 campaign for the 42nd Canadian Federal Election drew much attention to the fate of missing and murdered Indigenous women. However, the attention on females suggests that the inherent implication that Indigenous men s attitudes toward Indigenous women are the problem and that the men are not victims of violence themselves. This essay will first acknowledge the chronic problem of violence in the place of Indigenous peoplesin first world societies and the continuing social problems that marginalize their position. This paper will then examine the Aboriginal peoples of Canada, the violence in their communities, and whether or not Indigenous men and their masculinities have an appropriate place in the national picture regarding the missing and murdered Indigenous women. I will conclude with a consideration of the extent to which if men do have an appropriate place in the inquiry and which policy recommendations are required to address the issues that Aboriginal people confront.
