The Importance Of Writing In The Colonial Language
Additionally, it can be used to communicate with other indigenous people who speak different
languages, but understand the same issues of colonialism. In the specific case of some African states,
such as Achebe s Nigeria, the English language became the lingua franca of the national bourgeoisie
representative of the various national ethnicities, on the one hand, and the forces of colonialism and
transnational capital, on the other.
Indeed, postcolonial literature in the colonial language is a double edged sword. Without its use, the
writing may never reach a wide audience, as it is impossible to translate every work into each different
indigenous language. Furthermore, those who have experienced a diaspora after colonization, such as
the Africans who were transported to colonial lands, lost their indigenous language. Their ancestors
grew up with the colonial language, and unless they learn their indigenous language, they have no
choice to write in the colonial language. Yet, writing in the colonial language furthermore reflects the
power that colonists still exert today, that their language must be used to describe the aftereffects of
their subjugation of another country. The colonial language becomes culturally more powerful,
devaluing the native language as it is brought into its domain, domesticated, and accommodated.
Ultimately, the writers must take into consideration the positives and negatives of each approach. They
have the choice to write in either language,

Mcdonald s Stock Symbol Or Stock Ticker
The name of the company I decided to research for my project is Mcdonalds. The Mcdonald s stock
symbol or stock ticker is MCD and this company trades in the New York Stock Exchange. The
McDonald s headquarters complex, McDonald s Plaza, is located in Oak Brook, Illinois. The business
began in 1940, with a restaurant opened by brothers Richard and Maurice McDonald in San
Bernardino, California. The present corporation dates its founding to the opening of a franchised
restaurant by businessman Ray Kroc in Des Plaines, Illinois. Ray Kroc later purchased the McDonald
brothers equity in the company and led its worldwide expansion, and the company became listed on
the public stock markets ten years later. McDonald s restaurants are found now in 118 countries and
territories around the world and serve 68 million customers each day. McDonald s operates over
35,000 restaurants worldwide, employing more than 1.7 million people. As you might have guessed, a
company as large as Mcdonalds has a ton of corporate level executives. The chairman of the board of
directors for Mcdonald s is Andrew J. McKenna. Andrew James McKenna was born in Chicago,
Illinois on 17 September 1929. McKenna graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a BS
degree in Business Administration and Marketing, followed by a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from
DePaul University College of Law. McKenna has been chairman of McDonald s since 2004. The rest

Mild Mental Retardation
Mild Mental Retardation Speech and Language Disorders Introduction: Mild mental retardation is a
lifelong disability that limits both the intellectual function and the adaptive behavior during the period
of development. It first appears in children under the age of 18 and occurs in 2.5 3% of the population.
There are a number of factors that cause mental retardation and most of the causes are chromosomal,
metabolic and environmental. Symptoms appear once the child is born and later in childhood, it
becomes easier to specialist to identify the severity of the retardation. In addition, mental retardation
can be categorized into mild, moderate, severe and profound based on the intelligent quotient. The
intelligence quotient has to be at ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is important to be used very early in the child s life for the purpose of early intervention. This can
help to determine mental retardation early on so it can possibly be prevented. The only time mental
retardation can possibly be prevented is during the early detection of pregnancy. Therefore, it is
important to evaluate a child during their educational development because negative labeling,
especially children who suffer mild mental retardation, can damage the child for life and limit his
future success in education. Researchers have found that the cause of mental retardation is both
genetic and environmental. With the advent of more research on intelligence have also made scientists
more aware of factors that contribute to mental retardation as well (Battaglia amp; Carey, 2003). In the
past, mental age and IQ testing have been used to assess mental retardation.
Treatment programs or methods
The primary goal of treatment for mild mental retardation is to develop the person s potential to the
fullest. Special education and training begin during infancy and promotes social skills to function as
normally as possible. It is important for a specialist to evaluate the person for other affective disorders
and treat those disorders. Treatments for mental retardation are not designed to cure the disorder. On
the other hand, therapy goals reduce safety risks, such as, maintaining a safe home or school and
relevant life skills. The primary goal is to develop a

Exile And Pain In Three Elegiac Poems Essay
There is a great similarity between the three elegiac poems, The Wanderer, The Wife of Lament, and
The Seafarer. This similarity is the theme of exile. Exile means separation, or banishment from ones
native country, region, or home. During the Anglo Saxon period, exile caused a great amount of pain
and grief. The theme is shown to have put great sadness into literature of this time period. The
majority of the world s literature from the past contains the theme of exile. The Wife of Lament is
another perfect example of literature with exile, and was written by an unknown author.
The most striking example of exile in this poem can be seen in the passage when she says, quot;A
song I sing of sorrow unceasing, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The author continually describes how incredibly miserable he is living his life in exile, how awful it is
to have to live without the guidance from a higher rank being a lord and king in this case, how there is
no one to talk to and to share ones feelings with, and how there is no money or riches of any kind‚ for
a man who is living in exile.
For the most part, the poem is sad and depressing and the reader easily sees what this man is going
through and how terrible it must be for him to live without all the things many others take for granted
everyday of their lives. The author of this poem, who has obviously been exiled, does an exquisite job
of showing, maybe even teaching, to the reader how important the things are that you lose in life when
exiled, no matter how rich or poor you are. You take the greatest loss of all when you are exiled, you
take the loss of losing everything that makes it seem purposeful for you to live out the day you just
began. This is obviously the idea the author is trying to get across in this poem. Throughout the poem
The Seafarer, also composed by an unknown author, it is obvious that the man is not exiled directly in
the ways people have been exiled in the other poems, however being stuck on a ship is in many ways
quite similar to being exiled from your homeland. Numerous passages in this poem show this mans
painful life at sea. The one that stands out most greatly to me is this passage;

Lung Cancer
The Genetics of Lung Cancer

Cancer can be one of the hardest battles that one must face, whether that battle is lost or won, it
changes the lives of everyone involved. Lung cancer is one of the most diagnosed cancers and it
affects the lining of the lungs and the ability to breathe. Lung cancer is the number one killer of men
and women than any other cancer worldwide. This cancer is mostly found in smokers and this is why
professionals are targeting this population for testing for diagnosing early and possibly saving a life
(www.ncb.nlm.nih.gov). Lung cancer refers to the malignancies that originate in the airways or

According to the National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI) the researchers identified a
large region on human chromosome 6 that conferred greater lung cancer risk in families with many
affected individuals. Subsequent painstaking analysis to pinpoint the source of the elevated risk now
has paid off with the identification of the precise culprit, a gene called RGS17. Researchers conducted
fine mapping of the suspect region of chromosome 6 in members of families in which five or more
individuals over multiple generations were diagnosed with lung cancer. The region contains
approximately 100 genes. Precise computational analysis uncovered similar variants in the DNA
sequence for members of the families with lung cancer. These variants, called single nucleotide
polymorphisms (or SNPS) directed the researchers to the RGS17 gene. The conclusions of this
analysis are that RGS17 plays a major role in lung cancer susceptibility, and individuals who carry the
higher risk version of this gene have an increased susceptibility to lung cancer when exposed to
environmental risk factors, such as smoking. While the research showed that RGS17 is an important
gene for lung cancer susceptibility in families with a high incidence of lung cancer, the researchers did
not see any

Closing The Gap Analysis
I. Introduction
In Australia, Closing the Gap has become a key focus in the way governments have decided to address
indigenous inequality. The term closing the gap can be traced back to policy introduced in New
Zealand in the 1990s aimed at addressing inequality in Māori communities. Governments in both
Australia and New Zealand have tried to bridge perceived gaps between these Indigenous groups and
the rest of society particularly in relation to gaps in socioeconomic status. However such policies may
be problematic as they tend to ignore issues of self determination and sovereignty sought by
Indigenous groups (Cornell 2006:9 10; Muldoon Schaap 2012:535). Ignoring claims of self
determination and sovereignty may be indicative of ongoing divisions in settler states working to
accommodate the needs and outcomes of Indigenous groups given the undercurrent of conflictual and
often violent histories that mar the relations between the two groups. As such, this essay seeks to
compare these policies regarding inequalities between Indigenous societies and their settler states, as
well as the relevant contexts of these policies, in order to highlight issues that emerge in relation to
indigenous claims for sovereignty and concepts of nationalism.
The issue with closing the gap policies is that such initiatives seek to unite or assimilate indigenous ...

Customer Service And Customer Success
Customer service and customer success continues to be a big elephant in the room for many
businesses. While most of today s businesses have some level of training in customer service, many
don t take customer service seriously enough.
But data consistently shows that customers are increasingly focused on the level of service they
receive. A majority of today s consumers is prepared to switch if the service they receive isn t up to
standard. But what is behind the enhanced focus on customer service and can companies truly benefit
from better customer service? This guide will look at the reasons 21st century is the century for
understanding customer service.
What is Customer Service / Customer Success all about?
Customer service is a concept most people in business know about but not everyone truly understands
its importance. Customer service is essentially a crucial part of the product or service your business
offers, as it can directly influence the customer experience of the given product. This means that
customer service is an important part of building the brand.
Customer service is often taken care of by special customer service representatives. In fact, most
companies often have a specific customer service department, which deals with customer enquiries
over the telephone, but increasingly also through different online methods such as e mail and chat.
While customer service representatives play a crucial role in nurturing customer relationships, most

Mount Holyoke Case Study
In 1954, following the Brown v. the Board of Education decision, African American students became
legally able to apply for admission to previously all White colleges and universities (Anderson, 2002).
Following this legislation, many higher education institutions began to racially integrate at a
considerable rate; however, racism and exclusion continued to happen within these institutions
(Anderson, 2002). Mount Holyoke is a historically predominantly White women s college that began
significant racial integration following Brown, and following student sit ins in the 1960s and 1980s,

Spider M Turn Off The Dark
After a $75 million dollar investment, Spider Man: Turn Off The Dark premiered in the summer of
2011 at Foxwoods Theater. By the time the curtains opened to reveal the highly controversial show,
Spider Man had become the most expensive theatrical production ever produced in the world. The
show also opened to many negative reviews and infamous technical difficulties which included an
actor falling over 20 feet into the orchestra pit. The budget, which was originally planned at $51
million dollars, quickly snowballed out of hand after numerous delays and high operating costs.
However, this did not stop theatergoers from witnessing the controversial spectacle. Its Box office
numbers were strong, but it would take much more than solid ticket sales to turn over profit. By the
time Spider Man closed its doors, the production had lost over $60 million dollars, making it one of
the most iconic flops in Broadway history (Weiss). More than any recent production, Spider Man:
Turn Off The Dark highlights the financial risk that goes into producing a Broadway musical. Both
non profit theater and commercial theater are driven by financial factors. The risk and financial
dependency of American theater in the new century has influenced content that attempts to maximize
this financial return. Through its own economic ecosystem, Broadway theater production creates a
system that intertwines and supports both commercially viable spectacles and content driven non
profit theater. This essay will

Elements of Intentional Tort Tort law enables citizens to seek reimbursement for loss and or suffering
from conduct that would be deemed dangerous or unreasonable of others (3). Tort law is non criminal
and is dealt with in our civil judicial system. The categories of Tort Law include intentional tort,
negligence and strict liability. An intentional tort case is proved by the plaintiff showing that the
defendant intentionally injured him/her (1). In a negligence case, the plaintiff shows that the defendant
did not act carefully as the law requires and therefore should be liable for any damages to the plaintiff
(1). The strict liability cases occur when a plaintiff suffers damages even though the defendant acted
carefully and with no intent of harm being done to them (1). During a trial the plaintiff will attempt to
prove their case by the presentation of evidence to the trier of fact. The evidence usually includes
testimony of persons involved; witnesses as well as physical things such as pictures,
documentation/records, recordings etc...

During World War II, most of the countries, after invading a land, took adversary soldiers who
surrendered as prisoners. They were, most of the time, sent to concentration camps. Although the
treatment of these prisoners of war (POWs) was different from country to country, it was mostly harsh
and ignorant. According to Gavan Daws, a historian, Japanese concentration camps are the ones,
where the behavior of the military was the most brutal and ruthless. Although the Japanese Imperial
government had vowed to treat prisoners of war with consideration and appreciation, they dealt with
the detainees fiercely while medicinal treatment was apathetic. Japanese military is well known as

Why were the Japanese so cruel during WWII? Honor is the main reason. The Japanese soldiers were
very faithful to their nation. Even nowadays, the honor and patriotism still are extremely strong in
Japan. They were taught that if a soldier surrendered and didn t fight till the end being afraid of the
death, meant a failure. Consequently, they would be punished and disrespected. Japanese hierarchy
worked like a class system. Prisoners were at the last rung. Therefore, any Japanese soldier could
chastise them. Physical discipline was allotted for even unimportant infractions, for example,
neglecting to salute Japanese military. This meant for a Japanese to lose face. The most widely
recognized type of discipline was face slapping. Soldiers used mostly hard instruments, such as a
shovel, for this punishment. An Australian surgeon did some research on prisoners. He described the
injuries they obtained when they missed work because of the prostration: blows with a fist,
hammering over the face and head with wooden clogs, repeatedly thrown to the ground...kicking in
the stomach and scrotum and ribs etc ... (The War Diaries of Weary Dunlop). The Japanese utilized
numerous sorts of physical discipline. For example, they could force the prisoners to hold a heavy
stove above their head for several days with no food or water. Another punishment was to put them in
a cage for weeks and not provide them any nutrition. Japanese soldiers made fun of the detainees and
their sad lives. The camp was like a show for them. Gavan Daws states that the Japanese often took
extreme measures against detainees. Especially, when they tried to escape: Whether they are destroyed
individually or in groups, or however it is done, with mass bombing, poisonous smoke, [...] , or what,
dispose of the prisoners as the situation dictates. In any case it is the aim not to allow the escape of a

Economic Systems And The Economic System
Throughout homo sapiens evolution tribes managed resources the most efficient ways possible (given
their acute primitiveness). For those thousands of years as tribes, they expanded their intellects and
became less self reliant, moving away from hunting and gathering. Humans started to invent new
technologies that made their lives easier; thus, individuals specialized in producing or providing these
goods and services to fellow tribe members. As they cultivated ever more superior technologies the
standard of living grew. This gave way to exponential population growth, towns, cities, kingdoms, and
empires were established. Macroeconomics arose as societies devoted time and energy into governing
their factors of production and maximizing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In addition, the buyer and seller consider their own personal gain when exchanging, thus, self interest
is the motivating force in the free market. The struggle among producers for the dollar of consumers is
competition; it is the regulating force behind the free market. Competition pushes businesses to
produce goods of higher quality and moderate their desire to raise prices. To summarize, the free
market elevates the standard of living, economic efficiency, economic freedom, and economic growth.
Nevertheless, a free market system s shortfall is that it cannot achieve economic equity and economic
security easily. Consequently, the centrally planned economy exists to achieve the weaknesses of the
free market. In a centrally planned economy, the government, rather than individual producers and
consumers, answers the key economic questions. The government controls all factors of production
and directs workers to produce a certain number of goods. Command economies oppose private
property, free market pricing, competition, and self interest. However, command economies do not
perform well in practice, lacking logistics to coordinate an entire economy, reducing efficiency and
economic growth. Thus, countries with central command are going through an economic transition
into mixed economies. Mixed economies are a market based economic system in which the
government is involved to some extent; the government

ATLANTA Critique

Not to say that is the sole reason why people appreciated and watched the show, but it is a part of the
reason why.
Glover has not only played a part in COMMUNITY, but directed and produced the show itself. He
even has an alter ego, as you would call it, called Childish Gambino who raps under the hip hop genre.
Glover s life is in tip top shape as far as his resume goes and he has had no issues with finding a job.
He recently, this year in fact, announced his new show ATLANTA. First thoughts were confusing; the

Cancer: Lymphoma ). Its job is to fight infections and diseases. In the lymph system it carries lymph
which is colorless fluid containing lymphocytes that are white blood cells. The main job of a
lymphocyte is to fight of germs in the body. Two main lymphocytes are B lymphocytes and T
lymphocytes. B lymphocytes also called B cells make antibodies to fight off bacteria and T
lymphocytes kill viruses, foreign cells and triggers B cells to make antibodies ( Types of Cancer:
Lymphoma ). In different areas of the lymph systems ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are three different treatments for Hodgkin and most patients respond well, chemotherapy,
radiotherapy and stem cell transplant ( Leukaemia amp; Lymphoma Research ). Chemotherapy is the
main combination of anti cancer drugs. To have the best result these drugs need to be taken in a
sequence. Due to specific diagnosis and stages of their disease patients will be given different
protocols. Radiotherapy for some patients could be used along with chemotherapy. This uses high
energy rays to kill cancer cells and during treatment shows decrease in the disease ( Leukaemia amp;
Lymphoma Research ). Stem cell transplant is used when all the other treatments are unsuccessful.
This treatment is the most intensive form and most cases patients have these transplant using their
own stem cells which is called autologous transplant ( Leukaemia amp; Lymphoma Research n.d.pg6
para 3). There are different treatments for the three stages early, late, relapsed or refractory. In early
stage 1 and 2 the widely used treatment is chemotherapy ( Leukaemia amp; Lymphoma Research ).
Radiotherapy could follow to areas where lymph nodes are enlarged. The next is late stage 3 and 4
they will be advised to take part in clinical trial if meet criteria. If doesn t meet the criteria then
chemotherapy will be used yet it is a higher doses than in the earlier stages. Specific clinical trials are

ABSTRACT
In this experiment, the techniques column and thin layer chromatography was used to separate and
determine the purity of the colored components of siling labuyo and malunggay leaves. The results
obtained relied on differential solubilities and adsorptivities of the components to be separated with
respect to the mobile and stationary phases, wherein the stationary phase/s are silica gel and silica gel
G, while the mobile phase/s are the extracts on different solvent system.

EXPERIMENTAL
A. Sample Used
Sample Used: Siling Labuyo (Capsicum frutesceus)
B. Procedure 1. Column Chromatography The pigments of the red siling labuyo were extracted using
DCM hexane (1:1). Portions of the extracts were set a side for Thin Layer Chromatography. In
preparing the column chromatography set up, the column was plugged with cotton and uniformly
packed with silica gel up to the intended part of the dropping pipette. 0.5 mL of the extract was then
placed on top of the column using a pipette. The pigment mixture was eluted using 10 mL of DCM
hexane (1:1) and afterwards introduced in portions. The members were instructed not to allow the
column to run dry. The colorless eluates were discarded while the colored eluates were collected in
separate test tubes. The number of drops of the eluate collected in each test tube was noted.
Figure 1. Column Chromatography Set up
2. Thin Layer Chromatography In the Thin Layer Chromatography (TLC), the eluates were applied on
a 5 cm x 8 cm per coated TLC plate by spotting 10 times. The member performing the application
allowed each spot to dry before applying the next and made sure the spots are small as possible.
Meanwhile, another member prepared the developing chamber by placing an approximate amount of
the solvent system, DCM hexane (1:1). The inner wall of the chamber with filter paper was lined,

Accuracy Of Gladiator
Gladiator is an epic historical action drama set in the Roman Empire during the reign of Commodus,
the last emperor of the Nerva Antonine dynasty. The film is directed by Ridley Scott and features big
name actors such as Russel Crowe, Joaquin Phoenix, and the late Richard Harris. In brief the story of
Gladiator centers Maximus Decimus Meridius (Russel Crowe), a betrayed Roman General who is
forced into becoming a gladiator. Maximus fights his way from a lowly arena on the outskirts of the
empire, to the Colosseum at Rome with the goal of killing the emperor Commodus, avenging the
murder of his family. In terms of their social status, the film portrays gladiators as a mix of slaves,
prisoners, and professional athletes. The gladiators are the property of a Roman citizen, most seemed
to be there against their will, and yet they could achieve massive popular approval and support like a
professional athlete of today. Maximus s relationship with the crowd is an important plot point,
showing the necessity of a gladiator in getting the approval of the masses to better ensure their
survival. The film projects gladiators ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is for many reasons, some sensible, and some not so much. If this film presented a completely
accurate presentation of gladiators, the film might not have been able to connect with its audience,
resulting in decreased profitability. Also, including historically inaccurate imagery, such as the
imperial thumb signals in the Colosseum, helps the audience foster a better connection to the film. At
the same time though, including blatant historical inaccuracies gives a false representation of the
gladiators and Roman society, diluting the collective human conscious with falsehoods about the past.
Although not historically accurate, Gladiator is well made and features many praiseworthy
performances, making the film certainly worth a

Cataldo s Impact On Life
Today is a day of new beginnings; we are opening new doors and closing old ones. As a class, we
have grown up together not only as classmates but as friends. For six years I have attended Cataldo,
since the third grade, and for many of us even longer. Yes, that s six years of red, white, and blue plaid
skirts and collared shirts. Six years of finding my way through the winding halls painted in blue and
gold. Six years of walking down the cement steps to meet my parents after having said goodbye to
both my friends and teachers. After six years, I never imagined that the everyday goodbyes might ever
become a permanent one. It has been both a long and short six years. Long because of all of the
homework and endless papers to write; and short because ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I speak for all of us when I say that looking back on our years at Cataldo, and the memories that we
have made, I find myself immensely grateful for having had the opportunity to have attended such a
well rounded school not only academically, but also spiritually, socially, and physically. The past six
years have flown by, it s hard to imagine that in two years or less, we will receive our driver s licenses
and in four we will graduate high school and go on to college. As we make plans that will take us
beyond Cataldo, we realize that it will forever have a lasting affect on who we are. Today we part with
what has been familiar to us for the majority of our lives . With the next years, to define who we are
and what we become, we will never forget what we have learned here at Cataldo, all the opportunities
that we have been given, and the memories that we have created together. We are here today excited
for what the future holds. We must say goodbye to, but never forget our years at Cataldo so that as this

The First Chechen War In Russia
The media was a crucial control tactic and influential method of spreading news and opinions in the
USSR and Russia. Depending on who had the monopoly, state or private parties, resulted in the
control of the transitioning state. Those who were in charge of the message of the media, were also in
charge of the country. In this case, the transmitters of the media were able to design the government
and just as quickly lose its control over it. When free press was established under Yeltsin s presidency
and the collapse of the Soviet Union, journalists received privileges of influencing the country. The
media became a means of mobilization and effective propaganda for the liberal intelligentsia audience.
However, the media war ended in the election ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the first days of Putin s presidency, he made state media and private owned broadcast media under
Kremlin surveillance, to filter what the Russian citizens are watching and perceiving. He began by
destroying the NTV news, as the president of the station Dobrodeev was expelled from his position.
Ostrovsky comments, Tempting though it may be to portray NTV journalists as altruistic defenders of
freedom and speech, this would be misleading as presenting their opponents as stewards of justice.
Many of the journalists, spoiled and compromised by their inflated status and their own cynicism,
which they had seen as an asset when they were in power, now invoked moral values in their time of
need. 282. Furthermore, Putin begins his widespread propaganda movements with his now state
controlled media. The bombing of the apartments in Moscow by the alleged Chechen terrorists, instills
fear in citizens as they realize the print and television towers will not protect them from danger.
Therefore, the media influence began to self destruct. Putin then begins to utilise his control panel, by
using media as a tactic of spreading false but undeniably fearsome stories of ethnic cleansing of
Georgian villages by South Ossetian irregulars. This was proved false, but the idea of Georgia as an

William Shakespeare developed Lady Capulet with a specific purpose, and this purpose may have
been to convey the message that Once pride gets the better of you, you don t care about what others
say or feel. As described above, Lady Capulet is a character who gets bossed around and doesn t even
get to be a good mother because of class and gender roles. As a wife, she needs to respect and follow
any wishes or demands of her husband, Lord Capulet. One example of how Lady Capulet directly
contributes to this larger theme is when she gets angry at Juliet by not wanting to marry Paris. Talk not

Martin Luther King Jr Contribution
A Baptist member, and social activist, by the name of Martin Luther King Jr., played a very important
role in the Civil Rights Movement. He began playing his role in the mid 1950 s until he was later
assassinated in 1968. Being inspired by supporters of the nonviolence movement, such as Mahatma
Gandhi, King fought for equality for all African Americans. King not only fought for equality, but he
also fought for the right to vote and for the victims of unfairness all through peaceful protesting. He
had a splendid speaking ability, which allowed him to reveal the demands of African Americans for
social justice. King s fluent appeal won the support of billons of people, black and white, which made
him famous. In 1964 he won the Nobel Peace Prize for leading nonviolent civil rights affirmation.
Regardless of King s stress on nonviolence, he started to become the target of violence. Back in
Montgomery, Alabama, white racists bombed his home, and threw rocks at him in Chicago. Finally, at
the age of 39, violence took his life as an assassin shot and killed him. ... Show more content on

The World Trade Center Buildings
Numerous reasons and possibilities circulate through out the world as to if the United States
government had ties to the happenings on September 11th, 2001. Evidence to dispute 9/11 being an
inside job quickly began to go viral, especially on the Internet. False flag terrorism became a widely
debated topic to go along with the conspiracies. Theorists believe that bombs demolished the World
Trade Center Buildings, the phone calls from the planes were a hoax, or George W. Bush who was the
current president at the time financially benefited discreetly from the attacks (NewsOne Staff 2012) As
a final point, there is evidence to believe the United States government had responsibility in the
attacks that took place in 2001.
Right before the terroristic effects of September 11th, unknown investors allegedly used foresight of
the 9/11 tragedies events to scam on many markets globally including but not limited to an astounding
amount of put options placed to belittle the same airlines hijacked during the attacks (NewsOne Staff),
and WTC tenants and re insurance companies based in Chicago and London. Furthermore, suspicious

Essay On Zero Emissions
Zero Emissions Global warming is a significant issue and the CO2 levels are up in astronomical
proportions; therefore, it does not matter what caused it at this point (Volti, 2014). Scientists can argue
weather man has had a significant influence on the temperature rise all they want; however, it is a well
understood fact that humankind has contributed to the now high levels of CO2 in the air and
humankind cannot continue to pollute the air in such high volume without regard for future
generations. Considering the incredible leap in technology the combustion engine was and the host of

With over 100 thousand trucks and other vehicles in service around the globe, it has more emission
output than many average sized cities (UPS, 2017). A complete reduction in emissions would be
equivalent to an entire city that stopped using combustion engines. The positive social impact would
make UPS the benchmark of social economic environmental consciousness that every transportation
provider would attempt to emulate. Furthermore, the entire planet would benefit from such an
ecofriendly competition, which will lead to many other health benefits and provide lasting
sustainability of our dwindling fossil fuel resources.
Remarkably, UPS has made considerable strides to improve the fuel efficiency of its trucks with
proprietary algorithms such as its package flow technology, which minimize the distance traveled to
deliver goods continues (Watson, 2017). Utilizing innovation theory to consider its environmental
sustainability, UPS also contributes to improving its bottom line. According to Ribeiro and Szabo
Cherobim (2017) There is no doubt that the environment affects dynamic and strategy of organizations
and understanding the external environment is a fundamental condition for the organizational survival
(p. 31). As UPS replaces existing trucks with fuel efficient models, it not only caters to its ecofriendly
reputation, it saves substantial revenue in fuel costs; therefore, it is

Human Trafficking Is The Second Largest Form Of Organized...
Human Trafficking in Oklahoma
Individuals all over the world are at risk of being abducted and sold into some form of human
trafficking or forced prostitution. Worldwide, human trafficking is the second largest form of
organized crime. This is especially true in Oklahoma. Interstate Highways Forty, Thirty five, and
Forty four all three run through Oklahoma, stretching from coast to coast, and from Mexico to
Canada. These highways make Oklahoma an ideal crossroads for human trafficking. Because of these
highways, new cases of this epidemic emerge in Oklahoma every day. For example, in June of 2015,
five residents of Oklahoma City were indicted by a federal grand jury for operating an escort service,
providing underage females to men in exchange for money (Justice News). Everyone is at risk of
becoming a victim of human trafficking, especially females. I am particularly concerned about this
ever increasing trend for the safety of my wife and other members of my family. There are steps,
however, that we as Oklahomans can take to protect ourselves, and those we care about to reduce this
despicable crime. The first step we must take is to increase public awareness of the problem. Like so
many other problems, people assume that such a tragedy could never happen to them. Second,
Oklahoma State Legislature must increase the penalty upon conviction of human trafficking. Finally,
Oklahoma Legislature must prohibit gentleman s clubs statewide. The society we live in views

Critical Pedagogy And How It Benefit The Educational System
Critical Pedagogy Primer by Joe Kincheloe presents interesting insight on critical pedagogy as he
explained how this is relevant within our educational system. Reading this article helped me gain
more of an understanding of critical pedagogy and how it benefits the educational system. Kincheloe
(2004) said, proponents of critical pedagogy understand that every dimension of schooling and every
form of educational practice is a politically contested space. Shaped by history and challenged by a
wide range of interest groups, educational practice is a fuzzy concept as it takes place in numerous
settings, is shaped by a plethora of often invisible forces, and can operate even in the name of
democracy and justice to be totalitarian and oppressive. Historically, the process of education has been
a part of the political sphere for better or for worse as our educational system is a reflection of our
society s current political state. Ideally, when education professionals are acting within their
purposeful agency, the traditional ideolgies and political slants are threatened. An example of when
educational professionals are acting within their purposeful agency is when I was an In School
Dentention Teacher (ISD) at a particular school in Toledo Public Schools (TPS). During my time of
being an ISD Teacher I was an independent contractor through JLJ Vision Outreach. When we

HANDLING OPEN INCIDENTS EFFECTIVELY IN IT SERVICES MANAGEMENT
ABSTRACT
The main objective of IT Service Management (ITSM) is to ensure that all business processes and
resources are optimized and implemented using the best practices defined in ITIL (Information
Technology Infrastructure Library) to meet the organizational goals. ITIL defines Incident
Management process to manage and restore the normal service operations from the disruptions
minimizing the impact to the business. This study focusses on improving the performance of an
organization by the effective management of open incidents. The research proposes generating reports
from incident management tool and increasing the rate of resolving the incidents through a systematic
process ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Organizations are concerned with the effective implementation of incident management since any
service incident could cause a huge loss and a setback to business continuity.
Organizations looking for quick wins have taken up ITSM and have not seen the positive outcomes of
its implementation as they are confused on how to implement it. This is due to the fact that ITIL doesn
t provide the guidelines of how to implement the management standards and it is up to a business how
they perceive it and implement as per their needs and requirements (Pollard Cater Steel 2009).
The main objective of this study is to provide a strategy for optimizing and improving the IT services
incident management. For the effective implementation of incident management process, reducing the
number of open incidents is one of the most advisable approach but has not quite been effectively
implemented by existing work. This research provides a methodology of systematically handling the
incidents addressed by the users to be handled by the respective IT support staff and to generate
reports for keeping a record of the open incidents which serve as a basis for the management to assess
the performance of the incident management tool, look for solutions of most frequently occurring
incidents and develop strategies to reduce the number of incidents.

Incidents are the service disruptions that

The Poet Of Our Dreams Essay
As students, we can all remember a time, whether we were struggling with a homework assignment or
stressing out because of a test, when we questioned the purpose of school. I distinctly remember
asking myself Why am I here again and How does this apply to my life? It was not until my high
school career was over that I began to think about and try to understand the real purpose of education.
I think that the purpose of education is to contribute to the betterment of children by teaching them
how to become productive members of society. Public schooling gives children an education that
might have not been available to them otherwise. It teaches them discipline and gives them a social
life by means of introducing them to many other ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He defines education as the total of all things that one has learned and continues to learn throughout
their life. Therefore, one s education does not simply cease when they are done with their schooling.
Bass understands that there are two functions of education. One being to develop one s skills and
creativity and the other is to train students and create total uniformity. Students gain a good education
by having opportunities to achieve beyond what they have been taught in a school setting. When
children are taught in this way they will gain the knowledge that they need from school and education.
Bass states The purpose of education, then, is the perpetuation of the society. To him, education
preserves and provides for societal change. In order for that change to take place, individuals must
have a well rounded education. Without this educated generation, society could collapse under the
countries that do have the educated people needed to sustain a society. Education creates change and
society thrives on change. Throughout the article The Utopian High School in a Democratic Nation,
written by Theodore Sizer, he discusses how young Americans lack the ability to come face to face
with the fact that it is necessary to be a productive member of today s society. In order to do this, one
must have some form of intellect and productivity. Sizer

Film Conventions Of The Horror Genre
Insidious easily fits the film conventions of the horror genre and themes. Insidious incorporates classic
horror elements like haunted houses, ghosts, children being possessed, and outside experts of the
spiritual world. A family with three children start to witness things out of the ordinary and are unable
to understand what they are seeing. The mother, for instance, knew she was seeing strange deities, but
her husband refused to believe it and thought she was just out of it. The classic element of denying
there is anything out of the ordinary going on is a classic horror element. Typically the people who
deny the reality that there might be something supernatural happening, are the first people to be killed
or affected in some manner. The

Messiah Of The Masses Summary
This paper is a review of the book Messiah of the Masses: Huey P. Long and the Great Depression.
The book was about the life history of Huey P. Long during the great depression era. The author of
this book was Glen Jeansonne and it was edited by Oscar Handlin. In 1993 this book was published by
Addison Wesley Educational Publishers Inc. There are many pros and some cons in this book but
overall it was a very interesting book. The author s goal was to educate everyone about the
misunderstood Huey P. Long. I agree that Jeansonne did accomplish his goal of doing that while
keeping a steady and fine flow throughout the book. It is also a good narration on human nature during
the time of the great depression. The only cons I have about the book was that it was very hard to
comprehend at points. I assume it was because I need to extend my vocabulary. Also, I did not like
how the book criticized Huey P. Long a lot. Even though he was somewhat a bad person I believe the
author could have put more accomplishments. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Long is how he believed that was a master politician. I agree with this very much because of the way
Jeansonne wrote about his campaigning strategy. He basically had citizens of Louisiana wrapped
around his fingers by telling them what they wanted to hear. In chapter 7 it said that a national
correspondent wrote, They do not merely vote for him, they worship the ground he walks on... (p.142)
Also in chapter 3, Jeansonne supported his argument when he talked about how Huey limited his
points in a speech to only five points. Afterwards he stated that an assistant of Huey said, Smith
compared this tactic to promising a child a red bicycle for Christmas. (p.44) This view closely aligns
with my reasoning for my position of agreeing because he would talk about doing things and no one
would question how they got

  • 2. The Importance Of Writing In The Colonial Language Additionally, it can be used to communicate with other indigenous people who speak different languages, but understand the same issues of colonialism. In the specific case of some African states, such as Achebe s Nigeria, the English language became the lingua franca of the national bourgeoisie representative of the various national ethnicities, on the one hand, and the forces of colonialism and transnational capital, on the other. Indeed, postcolonial literature in the colonial language is a double edged sword. Without its use, the writing may never reach a wide audience, as it is impossible to translate every work into each different indigenous language. Furthermore, those who have experienced a diaspora after colonization, such as the Africans who were transported to colonial lands, lost their indigenous language. Their ancestors grew up with the colonial language, and unless they learn their indigenous language, they have no choice to write in the colonial language. Yet, writing in the colonial language furthermore reflects the power that colonists still exert today, that their language must be used to describe the aftereffects of their subjugation of another country. The colonial language becomes culturally more powerful, devaluing the native language as it is brought into its domain, domesticated, and accommodated. Ultimately, the writers must take into consideration the positives and negatives of each approach. They have the choice to write in either language, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Mcdonald s Stock Symbol Or Stock Ticker The name of the company I decided to research for my project is Mcdonalds. The Mcdonald s stock symbol or stock ticker is MCD and this company trades in the New York Stock Exchange. The McDonald s headquarters complex, McDonald s Plaza, is located in Oak Brook, Illinois. The business began in 1940, with a restaurant opened by brothers Richard and Maurice McDonald in San Bernardino, California. The present corporation dates its founding to the opening of a franchised restaurant by businessman Ray Kroc in Des Plaines, Illinois. Ray Kroc later purchased the McDonald brothers equity in the company and led its worldwide expansion, and the company became listed on the public stock markets ten years later. McDonald s restaurants are found now in 118 countries and territories around the world and serve 68 million customers each day. McDonald s operates over 35,000 restaurants worldwide, employing more than 1.7 million people. As you might have guessed, a company as large as Mcdonalds has a ton of corporate level executives. The chairman of the board of directors for Mcdonald s is Andrew J. McKenna. Andrew James McKenna was born in Chicago, Illinois on 17 September 1929. McKenna graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a BS degree in Business Administration and Marketing, followed by a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from DePaul University College of Law. McKenna has been chairman of McDonald s since 2004. The rest of the members of the board of directors include ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Mild Mental Retardation Mild Mental Retardation Speech and Language Disorders Introduction: Mild mental retardation is a lifelong disability that limits both the intellectual function and the adaptive behavior during the period of development. It first appears in children under the age of 18 and occurs in 2.5 3% of the population. There are a number of factors that cause mental retardation and most of the causes are chromosomal, metabolic and environmental. Symptoms appear once the child is born and later in childhood, it becomes easier to specialist to identify the severity of the retardation. In addition, mental retardation can be categorized into mild, moderate, severe and profound based on the intelligent quotient. The intelligence quotient has to be at ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is important to be used very early in the child s life for the purpose of early intervention. This can help to determine mental retardation early on so it can possibly be prevented. The only time mental retardation can possibly be prevented is during the early detection of pregnancy. Therefore, it is important to evaluate a child during their educational development because negative labeling, especially children who suffer mild mental retardation, can damage the child for life and limit his future success in education. Researchers have found that the cause of mental retardation is both genetic and environmental. With the advent of more research on intelligence have also made scientists more aware of factors that contribute to mental retardation as well (Battaglia amp; Carey, 2003). In the past, mental age and IQ testing have been used to assess mental retardation. Treatment programs or methods The primary goal of treatment for mild mental retardation is to develop the person s potential to the fullest. Special education and training begin during infancy and promotes social skills to function as normally as possible. It is important for a specialist to evaluate the person for other affective disorders and treat those disorders. Treatments for mental retardation are not designed to cure the disorder. On the other hand, therapy goals reduce safety risks, such as, maintaining a safe home or school and relevant life skills. The primary goal is to develop a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Exile And Pain In Three Elegiac Poems Essay There is a great similarity between the three elegiac poems, The Wanderer, The Wife of Lament, and The Seafarer. This similarity is the theme of exile. Exile means separation, or banishment from ones native country, region, or home. During the Anglo Saxon period, exile caused a great amount of pain and grief. The theme is shown to have put great sadness into literature of this time period. The majority of the world s literature from the past contains the theme of exile. The Wife of Lament is another perfect example of literature with exile, and was written by an unknown author. The most striking example of exile in this poem can be seen in the passage when she says, quot;A song I sing of sorrow unceasing, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The author continually describes how incredibly miserable he is living his life in exile, how awful it is to have to live without the guidance from a higher rank being a lord and king in this case, how there is no one to talk to and to share ones feelings with, and how there is no money or riches of any kind‚ for a man who is living in exile. For the most part, the poem is sad and depressing and the reader easily sees what this man is going through and how terrible it must be for him to live without all the things many others take for granted everyday of their lives. The author of this poem, who has obviously been exiled, does an exquisite job of showing, maybe even teaching, to the reader how important the things are that you lose in life when exiled, no matter how rich or poor you are. You take the greatest loss of all when you are exiled, you take the loss of losing everything that makes it seem purposeful for you to live out the day you just began. This is obviously the idea the author is trying to get across in this poem. Throughout the poem The Seafarer, also composed by an unknown author, it is obvious that the man is not exiled directly in the ways people have been exiled in the other poems, however being stuck on a ship is in many ways quite similar to being exiled from your homeland. Numerous passages in this poem show this mans painful life at sea. The one that stands out most greatly to me is this passage; ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Lung Cancer The Genetics of Lung Cancer Catherine Hayworth BIO 355A/357A June 14, 2012 Colorado Christian University Cancer can be one of the hardest battles that one must face, whether that battle is lost or won, it changes the lives of everyone involved. Lung cancer is one of the most diagnosed cancers and it affects the lining of the lungs and the ability to breathe. Lung cancer is the number one killer of men and women than any other cancer worldwide. This cancer is mostly found in smokers and this is why professionals are targeting this population for testing for diagnosing early and possibly saving a life (www.ncb.nlm.nih.gov). Lung cancer refers to the malignancies that originate in the airways or pulmonary parenchyma. It is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... According to the National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI) the researchers identified a large region on human chromosome 6 that conferred greater lung cancer risk in families with many affected individuals. Subsequent painstaking analysis to pinpoint the source of the elevated risk now has paid off with the identification of the precise culprit, a gene called RGS17. Researchers conducted fine mapping of the suspect region of chromosome 6 in members of families in which five or more individuals over multiple generations were diagnosed with lung cancer. The region contains approximately 100 genes. Precise computational analysis uncovered similar variants in the DNA sequence for members of the families with lung cancer. These variants, called single nucleotide polymorphisms (or SNPS) directed the researchers to the RGS17 gene. The conclusions of this analysis are that RGS17 plays a major role in lung cancer susceptibility, and individuals who carry the higher risk version of this gene have an increased susceptibility to lung cancer when exposed to environmental risk factors, such as smoking. While the research showed that RGS17 is an important gene for lung cancer susceptibility in families with a high incidence of lung cancer, the researchers did not see any ... • 7. Closing The Gap Analysis I. Introduction In Australia, Closing the Gap has become a key focus in the way governments have decided to address indigenous inequality. The term closing the gap can be traced back to policy introduced in New Zealand in the 1990s aimed at addressing inequality in Māori communities. Governments in both Australia and New Zealand have tried to bridge perceived gaps between these Indigenous groups and the rest of society particularly in relation to gaps in socioeconomic status. However such policies may be problematic as they tend to ignore issues of self determination and sovereignty sought by Indigenous groups (Cornell 2006:9 10; Muldoon Schaap 2012:535). Ignoring claims of self determination and sovereignty may be indicative of ongoing divisions in settler states working to accommodate the needs and outcomes of Indigenous groups given the undercurrent of conflictual and often violent histories that mar the relations between the two groups. As such, this essay seeks to compare these policies regarding inequalities between Indigenous societies and their settler states, as well as the relevant contexts of these policies, in order to highlight issues that emerge in relation to indigenous claims for sovereignty and concepts of nationalism. The issue with closing the gap policies is that such initiatives seek to unite or assimilate indigenous ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... By the time the curtains opened to reveal the highly controversial show, Spider Man had become the most expensive theatrical production ever produced in the world. The show also opened to many negative reviews and infamous technical difficulties which included an actor falling over 20 feet into the orchestra pit. The budget, which was originally planned at $51 million dollars, quickly snowballed out of hand after numerous delays and high operating costs. However, this did not stop theatergoers from witnessing the controversial spectacle. Its Box office numbers were strong, but it would take much more than solid ticket sales to turn over profit. By the time Spider Man closed its doors, the production had lost over $60 million dollars, making it one of the most iconic flops in Broadway history (Weiss). More than any recent production, Spider Man: Turn Off The Dark highlights the financial risk that goes into producing a Broadway musical. Both non profit theater and commercial theater are driven by financial factors. The risk and financial dependency of American theater in the new century has influenced content that attempts to maximize this financial return. Honor is the main reason. The Japanese soldiers were very faithful to their nation. Even nowadays, the honor and patriotism still are extremely strong in Japan. They were taught that if a soldier surrendered and didn t fight till the end being afraid of the death, meant a failure. Consequently, they would be punished and disrespected. Japanese hierarchy worked like a class system. Prisoners were at the last rung. Therefore, any Japanese soldier could chastise them. Physical discipline was allotted for even unimportant infractions, for example, neglecting to salute Japanese military. This meant for a Japanese to lose face. The most widely recognized type of discipline was face slapping. Soldiers used mostly hard instruments, such as a shovel, for this punishment. An Australian surgeon did some research on prisoners. He described the injuries they obtained when they missed work because of the prostration: blows with a fist, hammering over the face and head with wooden clogs, repeatedly thrown to the ground...kicking in the stomach and scrotum and ribs etc ... (The War Diaries of Weary Dunlop). The Japanese utilized numerous sorts of physical discipline. For example, they could force the prisoners to hold a heavy stove above their head for several days with no food or water. Another punishment was to put them in a cage for weeks and not provide them any nutrition. Japanese soldiers made fun of the detainees and their sad lives. The camp was like a show for them. Gavan Daws states that the Japanese often took extreme measures against detainees. Especially, when they tried to escape: Whether they are destroyed individually or in groups, or however it is done, with mass bombing, poisonous smoke, [...] , or what, dispose of the prisoners as the situation dictates. To summarize, the free market elevates the standard of living, economic efficiency, economic freedom, and economic growth. Nevertheless, a free market system s shortfall is that it cannot achieve economic equity and economic security easily. Consequently, the centrally planned economy exists to achieve the weaknesses of the free market. In a centrally planned economy, the government, rather than individual producers and consumers, answers the key economic questions. The government controls all factors of production and directs workers to produce a certain number of goods. • 29. Lady Capulet Quotes William Shakespeare developed Lady Capulet with a specific purpose, and this purpose may have been to convey the message that Once pride gets the better of you, you don t care about what others say or feel. As described above, Lady Capulet is a character who gets bossed around and doesn t even get to be a good mother because of class and gender roles. As a wife, she needs to respect and follow any wishes or demands of her husband, Lord Capulet. One example of how Lady Capulet directly contributes to this larger theme is when she gets angry at Juliet by not wanting to marry Paris. Talk not to me, for I ll not speak a word: Do as thou wilt, for I have done with thee (3.5.203). In this quote, Lady Capulet doesn t want to speak to Juliet anymore ... King s fluent appeal won the support of billons of people, black and white, which made him famous. In 1964 he won the Nobel Peace Prize for leading nonviolent civil rights affirmation. Evidence to dispute 9/11 being an inside job quickly began to go viral, especially on the Internet. False flag terrorism became a widely debated topic to go along with the conspiracies. Theorists believe that bombs demolished the World Trade Center Buildings, the phone calls from the planes were a hoax, or George W. Bush who was the current president at the time financially benefited discreetly from the attacks (NewsOne Staff 2012) As a final point, there is evidence to believe the United States government had responsibility in the attacks that took place in 2001. Scientists can argue weather man has had a significant influence on the temperature rise all they want; however, it is a well understood fact that humankind has contributed to the now high levels of CO2 in the air and humankind cannot continue to pollute the air in such high volume without regard for future generations. The positive social impact would make UPS the benchmark of social economic environmental consciousness that every transportation provider would attempt to emulate. Furthermore, the entire planet would benefit from such an ecofriendly competition, which will lead to many other health benefits and provide lasting sustainability of our dwindling fossil fuel resources. Remarkably, UPS has made considerable strides to improve the fuel efficiency of its trucks with proprietary algorithms such as its package flow technology, which minimize the distance traveled to deliver goods continues (Watson, 2017). Human Trafficking in Oklahoma Individuals all over the world are at risk of being abducted and sold into some form of human trafficking or forced prostitution. Worldwide, human trafficking is the second largest form of organized crime. This is especially true in Oklahoma. Interstate Highways Forty, Thirty five, and Forty four all three run through Oklahoma, stretching from coast to coast, and from Mexico to Canada. These highways make Oklahoma an ideal crossroads for human trafficking. Because of these highways, new cases of this epidemic emerge in Oklahoma every day. For example, in June of 2015, five residents of Oklahoma City were indicted by a federal grand jury for operating an escort service, providing underage females to men in exchange for money (Justice News). Everyone is at risk of becoming a victim of human trafficking, especially females. I am particularly concerned about this ever increasing trend for the safety of my wife and other members of my family. There are steps, however, that we as Oklahomans can take to protect ourselves, and those we care about to reduce this despicable crime. The first step we must take is to increase public awareness of the problem. Like so many other problems, people assume that such a tragedy could never happen to them. Second, Oklahoma State Legislature must increase the penalty upon conviction of human trafficking. Finally, Oklahoma Legislature must prohibit gentleman s clubs statewide. The society we live in views females as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 34. Critical Pedagogy And How It Benefit The Educational System Critical Pedagogy Primer by Joe Kincheloe presents interesting insight on critical pedagogy as he explained how this is relevant within our educational system. Reading this article helped me gain more of an understanding of critical pedagogy and how it benefits the educational system. Kincheloe (2004) said, proponents of critical pedagogy understand that every dimension of schooling and every form of educational practice is a politically contested space. Shaped by history and challenged by a wide range of interest groups, educational practice is a fuzzy concept as it takes place in numerous settings, is shaped by a plethora of often invisible forces, and can operate even in the name of democracy and justice to be totalitarian and oppressive. Historically, the process of education has been a part of the political sphere for better or for worse as our educational system is a reflection of our society s current political state. Ideally, when education professionals are acting within their purposeful agency, the traditional ideolgies and political slants are threatened. An example of when educational professionals are acting within their purposeful agency is when I was an In School Dentention Teacher (ISD) at a particular school in Toledo Public Schools (TPS). During my time of being an ISD Teacher I was an independent contractor through JLJ Vision Outreach. Organizations are concerned with the effective implementation of incident management since any service incident could cause a huge loss and a setback to business continuity. Organizations looking for quick wins have taken up ITSM and have not seen the positive outcomes of its implementation as they are confused on how to implement it. This is due to the fact that ITIL doesn t provide the guidelines of how to implement the management standards and it is up to a business how they perceive it and implement as per their needs and requirements (Pollard Cater Steel 2009). The main objective of this study is to provide a strategy for optimizing and improving the IT services incident management. • 38. The Poet Of Our Dreams Essay As students, we can all remember a time, whether we were struggling with a homework assignment or stressing out because of a test, when we questioned the purpose of school. I distinctly remember asking myself Why am I here again and How does this apply to my life? It was not until my high school career was over that I began to think about and try to understand the real purpose of education. I think that the purpose of education is to contribute to the betterment of children by teaching them how to become productive members of society. Public schooling gives children an education that might have not been available to them otherwise. It teaches them discipline and gives them a social life by means of introducing them to many other ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He defines education as the total of all things that one has learned and continues to learn throughout their life. Therefore, one s education does not simply cease when they are done with their schooling. Bass understands that there are two functions of education. One being to develop one s skills and creativity and the other is to train students and create total uniformity. Students gain a good education by having opportunities to achieve beyond what they have been taught in a school setting. When children are taught in this way they will gain the knowledge that they need from school and education. Bass states The purpose of education, then, is the perpetuation of the society. To him, education preserves and provides for societal change. In order for that change to take place, individuals must have a well rounded education. Without this educated generation, society could collapse under the countries that do have the educated people needed to sustain a society. Education creates change and society thrives on change. Throughout the article The Utopian High School in a Democratic Nation, written by Theodore Sizer, he discusses how young Americans lack the ability to come face to face with the fact that it is necessary to be a productive member of today s society. In order to do this, one must have some form of intellect and productivity. Sizer ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 40. Messiah Of The Masses Summary This paper is a review of the book Messiah of the Masses: Huey P. Long and the Great Depression. The book was about the life history of Huey P. Long during the great depression era. The author of this book was Glen Jeansonne and it was edited by Oscar Handlin. In 1993 this book was published by Addison Wesley Educational Publishers Inc. There are many pros and some cons in this book but overall it was a very interesting book. The author s goal was to educate everyone about the misunderstood Huey P. Long. I agree that Jeansonne did accomplish his goal of doing that while keeping a steady and fine flow throughout the book. It is also a good narration on human nature during the time of the great depression. The only cons I have about the book was that it was very hard to comprehend at points. I assume it was because I need to extend my vocabulary. Also, I did not like how the book criticized Huey P. Long a lot. Even though he was somewhat a bad person I believe the author could have put more accomplishments. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Long is how he believed that was a master politician. (p.142) Also in chapter 3, Jeansonne supported his argument when he talked about how Huey limited his points in a speech to only five points. Afterwards he stated that an assistant of Huey said, Smith compared this tactic to promising a child a red bicycle for Christmas.
