Education Is The Most Important Part Of Every Human
Today, Education is the most important part of every human being in this world. But, how can a
developed country like the United States consider education as a privilege rather than a need.
Today, America is suffering from lack of workforce and education crisis. America s economy is
collapsing and it is losing to countries like china, Brazil, Russia, etc. because Americans are
deprived of education because of high collegecosts. High school graduates in America want to
attend college but when they attend college, either they drop out of college or they graduate but
end up paying money for studentdebtand loans throughout their life. According to Vermont
senator Bernie sanders, today Americans have a burden of 1.3 trillion dollars in debts and
loans. This amount is much greater than the amount of credit card. Because of lack of
education, there is a huge income gap between the wealthier and poor. America is called, Land
of the Free and Home of the Brave , But how can a country be the home of the brave if its people
are not educated. To make America better and stronger, education should be free for every U.S.
citizen and so the public universities and colleges should be free. A free education would enable
every American to achieve the American Dream. It would fill the income gap between poor and
rich and would boost the economy of the nation. For a better understanding, we must look at the
cost of tuition of public universities in America. In the past decade, the cost

Women And Men In Conversation By Deborah Tannen
From You just don t understand: Women and men in conversation , Deborah Tannen shows the
gender differences in conversation. The main idea is that women value relationship and empathy
within a group, while men are struggling to raise their status and class. According to Deborah
Tannen, this affects how they think and speak. Generally, men talk more in a public situation, while
women talk more in private settings. Most women tend to use rapport talk for conversation, a way
of establishing connections and negotiating relationships, whereas most men tend to use report talk,
a way of preserving independence and maintain status in hierarchical social order (Deborah Tannen,
You just don t understand: Women and men in conversation) There are different understandings
between genderabout what conversation is for. To him, talk is information, which is used to inform
what he needs to know or what he wants other to know. To her, however, talk is for interaction, a
way to show involvement, whereas listening is a way of caring. Therefore, in public events, men
are more comfortable to claim attention with this understanding of talking.... Show more content on

Due to the different ways of expressing politeness and conversational involvement, they may have
trouble communicating even if they share the same language. The two cultures approach proposes
that talk between women and men is fraught with potential misunderstanding for much the same
reasons that communication across the ethnic groups is (Mary Crawford, Talking Difference On
Gender and Language, 1995). Hence, I agree with the point of view of Deborah Tannen. However,
You just don t understand: Women and men in conversation does not inform readers about the
reasons and the consequences of the communication differences between genders. Therefore, this

Persuasive Essay Why Do We Dream
There is a question that has baffled many psychologists and curious minds for centuries the
question is why do we dream? Do we dream to save our mind from insanity and stress or is it
because it s a natural process? There is one thing for certain though most people dream, the
question is can they remember it. The truth is all creatures can enter a certain type of REM sleep
but it s uncertain if they experience dreams on a human plane of thought. When we enter REM
sleep our Rapid Eye Movement stage of sleep the deepest part of our sleep, the human body
undergoes a temporary paralysis to stop the sleeping person from potential harmful movement. The
dreamingprocess usually happens in this stage, but has been reported in NREM sleep.

HMO Model Paper
Evaluate the various HMO models (staff, group, and network) and identify the model that
would probably be best suited for the region. Justify your answer. There are four models of
HMOs: Staff Model The Health Maintenance Organization employs the physician, and care is
usually provided in a facility owned by the HMO. Group Model is structured around a multi
specialty medical group that may include internists, obstetricians, gynecologists, cardiac and
oncology specialists and surgeons contracting exclusively with the HMO to provide services.
Network Model is an HMO that contracts with many IPAs and other provider groups to form a
physician network. Mixed Model is a combination of delivery systems. (Patient Advocate, 2015)
The mixed model would be the best model for my region. It offers the widest variety of choices
and the broadest geographic coverage to its members. Patients will often have choices of clinics,

Baroque Art Depicted the Religious Tensions During that...
Art in the Baroque period was used to depict the religious tensions present at the time.
Coincidentally, the philosophy of the time also played a key role in addressing the tensions that
existed during the period. As a result of the focus on similar aspects of the society, there
emerged numerous similarities between the artwork of the time and the ideas expressed by
philosophers such as Descartes and Leibniz. It is critical to assess the views of the different
philosophers in order to determine how the artwork was similar to their perceptions of the world.
This essay addresses the views of Descartes in relation to the principles of Baroqueart. In particular,
the essay focuses on the works of Vermeer and Rembrandt, seeking to determine how their art
relates to the philosophical views of Descartes.
Rembrandt
Rembrandt was one of the most influential Baroque artists of the 17th century, with popular works
such as the Anatomy Lesson of Dr. Tulp, the Night Watch, and Angel Leaving Tobit and Tobias
(Open University of Kaohsiung). His success was based on the fact that his work did not go out
of fashion. The spiritual life of Holland during the Baroque period required him because he was
relevant in presenting ideas about the period in his work. Some of the most successful works of
Rembrandt were depictions of biblical stories that he presented in highly relevant detail. The painter
represented the scriptures from the Bible in the minutest detail by integrating it with his own

Domestic Abuse
Abuse occurs when people mistreat or misuse other people, showing no concern for their integrity
or intent worth as individuals. There are different types of abuse, examples are, family abuse,
neglect, and emotional abuse. On average, most children that grow up in an abusive home are
most likely to become abusive towards their spouse and or kids. Family abuse can be the worse
because it affects the whole family. Emotional abuse affects the inside and that can be mentally
damaging. Most of the time, neglectabuse is not always intentional. It s caused by inexperienced
parents not knowing how to raise the child. This paper, will focus on the affects domestic abuse
has on children. When children are exposed to family violence, it effect the children mentally
and physically. It makes kids fearful of other adults or elders. The child could start to lie about
the abuse and start to feel that it s their fault. Which makes them afraid to even talk to their own
family about the abuse. It can lead the child to abuse drugs when they get older. Children can
even grow up to resent their parents for abusing them or to even let it happen. The child can grow

Legality Of The Threat Or Use Of Nuclear Weapons
Legality of the Threat or Use of Nuclear Weapons , Advisory Opinion, was first brought to the
attention of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) by the World Health Organization (WHO) on
September 3, 1993. The ICJ did not decide on the matter at that time because they felt that the
WHO was ultra vires, or acting outside its legal capacity. On December 15, 1994 the United Nations
General Assembly brought the same order to the ICJ and it was accepted. The plantiffs where the

1.There is in neither customary nor conventional international law any specific authorization of the
threat or use of nuclear weapons.
2.There is in neither customary nor conventional international law any comprehensive and universal
prohibition of the threat or use of nuclear weapons as such.
3.A threat or use of force by means of nuclear weapons that is contrary to Article 2, paragraph 4, of
the United Nations Charter and that fails to meet all the requirements of Article 51, is unlawful.
4.A threat or use of nuclear weapons should also be compatible with the requirements of the
international law applicable in armed conflict, particularly those of the principles and rules of
humanitarian law, as well as with specific obligations under treaties and other undertakings which

Nucleophilic Substitution Reaction Lab Report
Substitution Reactions, Purification, and Identification Introduction (Q:1 2) An unknown
(nucleophile) was subjected to SN2 reaction when combined with benzyl bromide (electrophile) in
a sodium hydroxide (base) solution. The experiment provided a clear understanding in conducting
nucleophilic substitution reaction where heat must be applied in order for the SN2 reaction to
move forward. The goal was to determine the unknown by incorporating knowledge of polarity, the
laws of physics, and the role of energy when forming crystals; like dissolves like , matter cannot be
created nor destroyed . (Q3:Techniques) Melting point, recrystallization, and thin layer
chromatography (TLC) mediated the ability to find which unknown nucleophile was provided...

This was concluded by combining information on melting points and TLC; melting range narrowed
when filtered product was mixed with the standard product. Also, the Rf value of the pure product
is closely related to the Rf value of the standard. TLC of filtrate showed no movement of the
substance in the mixture under 9:1 ratio declaring the substance to be extremely polar. Of the three
potential unknown reactants, 4 methoxyphenol would be the most polar and therefore would travel
least up the TLC plate. (Q14:Yield) 81.2% product yield was collected. Matter cannot be created
nor destroyed , therefore some product could have filtered through. TLC of filtrate confirmed
remnants of product present. Filtering the filtrate could have increased the yield. (Q15:Recovery)
The percent recovery of the product makes sense because it is the mass of the crystallized product
divided by the crude product: 94.9%. The percentage reflects the mass of pure product (without the
presence of impurities). (Q16:MP) Melting point coincides with the unknown nucleophile being 4
methoxyphenol because when the standard product was combined with our pure product, the
melting range narrowed. When compared to the melting ranges obtained when mixed with the other
two possible products the melting ranges significantly decreased and widened. This is often an
indication of impurities being present, but because this was a

The Whaling Industry And Education In The 1700s
When I selected my topic I wanted it to be something interesting. The topics that I was most
interested about were the whaling industry and education in the 1700s. The other topics were also
interesting, but these two were events that I especially wanted to investigate. Between these two
events, I opted for whalingbecause there were a lot of things I was wondering about this topic . I
knew whales were becoming extinct, that corsets were made out of whalebones, and I wanted to
know more about whaling.
The way I conducted my research was by using the Britannica School, Facts on File, and Abc clo.
On Britannica School I found many interesting things. In North America, the Inuits had already

Even if the percentage for hormonal and gonadal abnormalities is more compared to
chromosomal abnormalities in SA, cytogenetic investigation is a must. The percentage of total
CA (16%) in SA of the present study will hold good with previous studies which vary from 5
33.3% and pure numerical abnormalities (45,X; 47,XXX) could not be observed (table 3). The
CA observed was only X mosaicism in two of the studies (gupta, Butnarui) as compared to
present study (16/43%). The percentage for X mosaicism was almost equal in a study done by
Wong (14/45.1%) and the present study. The XY female and its variants were not observed in
other studies except in two (Opitz, 1/20%; Kalavathi, 1/11.1%) which was less compared to
present study (8/22%). The structural abnormality was at a higher range in the study done by
Kalavathi (6/66.7%) followed by Safai (3/60%).
When the studies on amenorrhea are done in a particular region or racial group, the percentage of
CA in SA is always less compared to CA in PA (Cleide 1984). The CA in SA (16%) was less in
present study when compared to CA in PA (27.3%) (Leelavathy) published earlier. The percentage
for X mosaicism (43%) and structural abnormality (35%) was observed to be more in SA than in PA.

Summary Of Merlyn s Lessons Shape King Arthur
Merlyn s Lessons Shape King Arthur
King Arthur does not just magically become the amazing king he grows up to be. He is trained to
become a trusted ruler and a worthy knight. He learns the best lessons from his tutor, Merlyn.
Merlyn helps Arthur when he s a young boy who is under the rule of Sir Ector. Merlyn uses the
most extraordinary lessons to get Arthur to become successful in the long run. Not many people
helped Arthur as a young boy to become something other than Sir Kay s assistant. Overall, Merlyn s
extravagant lessons helped shape the Wart into the True Born King of Britain. A lesson that Merlyn
shapes Wart with was changing Wart into a fish that lived in the moat. In order to gain knowledge
from this experience, Wart has a conversation about monarchy with the King of the Moat. The

from seeing how the ants in the colony are treated. For example he realizes that, Their life was

work when trying to rule a group of people or in this case, ants. Wart understands that being a
dictator and being demanding won t make a kingdom better. In a way the lessons from the ants
and from the fish teach him the same thing; to rule for the people. So, in order to put this lesson to
use Arthur uses his power for good and he treats his kingdom with care. This is just another one of
the many lessons Merlyn teaches in order to transform Wart into King Arthur. The Once and Future
King goes on about how Arthur s early life truly shaped King Arthur for the better. King Arthur is
known to be one of the greatest rulers of all times. He gets his amazing leadership from the people
that raised him, Sir Ector and Merlyn. Furthermore, Merlyn s numerous lessons truly shaped Arthur

The title, Special education refers to education for students who may require additional support to
become successful individuals. In the public school system, from elementary to secondary they
have a classroom where all children with learning disabilities are able to interact with a teacher or
teacher aid one on one. The amount of disorders that are helped and treated through the special
education system is broad. It is so broad that they tend to students such as an individual who is not
able to pay attention in an ordinary class, to students who are non ambulatory, visually impaired,
and deaf.
The special education class allows students with learning disabilities to get individual attention
that is needed in order for the student to focus and make it to the next step in life. Everything
from the student s setting to needs are planned and monitored. The special education teachers are
able to provide support such as assisting with identified modifications to student s academic and
physical tasks in order to meet their needs and help their differences in the learning cycle.
However, not all special education students need one on one teacher aids. The need for a one to
one assistance is considered, depending on the individuals needs.
In 2001, Wooster showed that, in 1975 the Education for all children act was renamed the
Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA)

Imagery And Their Mind Through Descriptions And Sensory...
Imagery is the use of language to create mental pictures in one s mind through descriptions and
sensory perceptions (Wheeler). In Digging, Heaney establishes the setting of the poem by
describing that he is in what seems to be a room with a window that overlooks an area of green.
He starts the poem off with Between my finger and my thumb / The squat pen rests; snug as a
gun. / Under my window, a clean rasping sound / When the spade sinks into gravelly ground:
/ My father, digging. I look down ( Digging ). He uses the appeals to sound, as in a clean rasping
sound and the spade sinks into gravelly ground, as well as appeals to sight, I look down, and
appeals to touch, [b]etween my finger and my thumb, to create an image in the reader s mind of
what that day, or perhaps thought, looked like. The image that is created is one that shows
contrast, in this case between an unidentified narrator and his father. As the poem continues,
Heaney describes But I ve no spade to follow men like them. / Between my finger and my thumb
/ The squat pen rests. / I ll dig with it. The contrast that this furthers is the idea that the narrator is
very different from his father, creating a divide that can be the start of tension. Because the narrator
and his father cannot necessarily understand each other due to these differences, as each chooses
his different approach to digging, the narrator seems to understand that not much can be done about
the father s choice to remain a

Gram Staining Procedure Lab Report
Purpose:
The purpose of this lab is to identify a given unknown based on the previous experiment and lab
techniques that we have learned during this course. It was achieved, by preparing a gram staining
procedure, to help us identify the morphology of the bacteria, and to prepare a various of different
test, such as the starch test, oxidase, urease, citrate, MSA, Nitrate Reduction and MP/VP to help us
identify if the bacteria is able to produce the specific catabolism that it being testes for.
Procedure:
Gram Staining Gram Staining is a procedure used to distinguish between gram positive and gram
negative bacteria, where one of the main differences is the cell wall. Gram positive bacteria
contain multiple layers of peptidoglycans and gram negative lacks of peptidoglycans in the cell
wall. Overall, is a short procedure that consists of the following steps: first apply the primary stain

Genetic Transformation Lab
Genetic transformation occurs when an organism is modified by the introduction of new genetic
information which is then incorporated into the organism s genome. In this lab, engineered proteins
containing DNA to absorb blue light and emit green light were incorporated into E.coli bacteria.
The main purpose of this lab was to transform E. coli by forcing it to uptake plasmid containing an
ampicillin resistance geneand a green fluorescent protein (GFP) using complementation (adding
antibiotic resistance in addition to weed out non transformed cells). To see the effects of this
plasmid on cells, bacteriatreated with the plasmid were grown 3 different growth mediums: agar,

In the early 20th century, when the monochrome camera came to people s sight, round or oval
frames were as common as square frames. They offered a sense of both formality and intimacy.
Though the technology of digital photography is increasingly reaching more new heights, nothing
can beat holding a printed photo of a precious memory in hands. The incredible project has once
again pushed out a innovation in instant photography. The instant project is proud of its Impossible

Photographic film is the indispensable part of Impossible Instant Lab when taking photos. The
quality of colorful photos depends on the quality of photographic films in some degree. The
company can launch three different levels of photographic films onto the market. Firstly, the
photographic film is needed to meet the demands of common consumers who only can afford low
level products. This type of photographic film may cost 20 penny each and be sold at the price of
50 penny. Next, regular level of photographic needed to be produced in order to offer the
convenience for the majority of consumers. This type of photographic is produced at the cost of
25 penny and the price of 60 penny. Furthermore, some advanced photographic film is also in the
consideration since one part of consumers focus on the quality and the style of photos. As a result,
the company can produce some photographic films with better material and decoration.
Consequently, the cost of it is higher and the price is more expensive at 50 penny and 1 pound
respectively.
Financial plan for cost and price of camera
The instant camera attracts young generation especially girls. According to the consumers
consumption level, the Impossible Instant Lab can be divided in to three main aspects. Firstly,
consumers who have ability to afford the average price of the instant camera are expected to be
taken into consideration. So the raw material is supposed to be considered to be

Shameless is a Golden Globe nominated show with a white dominated cast. One of the siblings

When it comes to representations of Blacks on television, the 1980s can be seen as a decade of
elevated inclusion both in terms of the quantity and quality of roles which remains the norm
today. (Tukachinsky, Mastro, Yarchi, 2015). Over the years, we will see more shows gearing their
audiences to the black community. Producers add in a few social issues to reel viewers in, but the
fact remains the same that a prime time heavy hitting shows, will most likely have less than 20% of
their cast of African descent. In consonance with researchers, blacks currently constitute between 14
17 percent of the prime time population. (Tukachinsky, Mastro, Yarchi, 2015). The lack of
representation in the media can lead to some interpreting that the Caucasian race is the superior
race, and in retrospect, can influence the attitudes and beliefs of viewers. Prior research has shown

Analysis Of The Circumplex Model In On Golden Pond
The Circumplex Model: Adaptability and Flexibility Throughout On Golden Pond, it is apparent
that Chelsea, Norman, and Ethel are rigidly enmeshed. According to Olson s circumplex model,
rigidly enmeshed families have authoritarian leadership, strict discipline, roles rarely change,
there is too little change. Additionally, enmeshment in families is illustrated by very high
closeness, very high loyalty, high dependency, and a lack of individuality (Sanders Bell, 2011).
Although Chelsea is distant with her family in the number of visits it is an artificial distance of
time and space. They are strongly emotionally entangled as demonstrated through the ability of
the family to emotionally affect one and other. Slightly like the characters in On Golden Pond,
the family in Stepmom appear to be chaotically enmeshed. The circumplex model claims families
who are chaotic present with a lack of leadership, erratic discipline, dramatic role shifts, and too
much change (Sanders Bell, 2011). Chaos is present in the structure of the two living environments
of the children: one environment is structured and the other one is disorderly. This leads to
confusion for the children because the system lacks consistency. Enmeshment is personified
through the children s emotional fusion with their mother. When Jackie is upset with Isabel, the
children are upset with Isabel. The children and the mother s emotions are intertwined. On the
other hand, Rita slightly contrasts the two families above as she appears to be rigidly
disengaged instead of enmeshed. Rita and Denny are not intimately close. This is illustrated as
Rita responds to a question by saying, loyalty? I [have] you know, I [have] tried to explain it to
my husband ... I think he [is] thick (Gilbert, 1983). Rita s family lacks the flexibility to change.
People get married and have kids. There is no self exploration, enlightenment, and adaptability is
absent. The Concrete Content and Abstract Process Norman characterized several content and
process issues throughout On Golden Pond. The first part of the movie exposes Norman s fixation
on his age and pending death. From his confrontation with the kids, while refueling his boat to his

The Epic of Gilgamesh
What Meets The Eye
In today s day and age, literature and media have ample effect on how our society influences
individuals. Women are perceived as sexual objects, but have the ability to persuade and influence
the male character in literature. The Epic of Gilgamesh portrays the significance ancient
Mesopotamian Literature has made on the social image that women possess pertaining to sexuality
and appearances to the public eye in modern culture. In Gilgamesh, the harlot Shamhat held a
reputation proving that women are only represented in one way. To support this argument, many
aspects such as defining the Male Gaze, heroism, and how women influence the main character, all
prove how poorly women are portrayed in literature and furthermore in modern media and culture.
The Epic of Gilgamesh focuses mainly on the two male protagonists Enkidu and Gilgamesh.
Shamhat was later introduced into the story as a temple prostitute that had the reputation of taming
wild beasts (Martin 103). She domesticates Enkidu into the ways of humankind using seduction, but
as the story continues, it shows how truly important Shamhat s position is in the epic. Shamhat, in
her role, is a generous force that brings knowledge and progress to a strong hero preparing him for
the many tribulations ahead. One of the aspects we fail to recognize in Mesopotamian literature, let
alone all literature of the world, is the heroic roles of women. In Women in the African Epic, Joseph
L. Mbele states,

Pros Of Driverless Cars
One of the self driving cars approached a crosswalk, it did what it was supposed to do when it

The Use of Video Games by Kindergartners ina Family Care...
The article The Use of Video Games by Kindergartners in a Family Child Care Setting, by Chiara

s objective involves the lessons children should learn through social activities and experiences. In
particular video games, and if they foster social skills, personalities to be friendly, helpful, and
behaved, and healthy feelings such as confidence, and security. Previous studies revolve around
older children with conflicting views on the topic. However, Bacigalupa aims to observe younger
children directly in their ordinary child care environment. The children were provided with 18

Although this type of methodology consists of benefits such as seeing real world behaviors with
no constrictions on the children, it also displays setbacks. The lack of controls makes it hard to
find a cause to behaviors. Furthermore, this study is subjective to the one who observed the
children because Bacigalupa drew conclusions on what she saw. Her personal history and
opinions of the subject could of impacted what she discovered. The chance of biased summaries
should have readers take the information with stride as to be conscious to not take everything
as facts. Bacigalupa s drew a conclusion that social development is hindered by video games
especially when compared to other activities as well that parents should give children better
alternatives. This is an extreme reflection on video games effects on young children, which has
positive and negatives aspects. During Piaget s preoperational stage, where these children fall
into, a child is said to start to understand the world with words and images. If video games are not
reality based, or portray extreme fantasy, and even violence, children might take the incoming
data as how to behave in real life. Therefore, there needs to be a caregiver monitoring the video
games being played. The children in this stage are also egocentric only beginning to see other
people s viewpoints. If video games are time consuming and make it difficult for child to

Notes On 9 Spiritual Gifts Essay
IIntroduction
God s love shown brilliantly, when he robed himself in flesh, bled, died on the cross and rose
again that we may have salvation. I always think of the old hymn When he was on the cross I
was on his mind . No longer under the Law of Moses, or the dispensation of the law, but now
under Grace. Once salvation is complete we begin to further our relationship into the Spiritual
Gifts. Matthew 7:11 KJV If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children,
how much more shall your father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask? With 9
spiritual gifts, God would enable us with power and authority to be able to fulfill our purpose here
on earth. Wisdom, Knowledge, Faith, Healing, Miracles, Prophecy, Discernment, Tongues and
Interpretation of Tongues. With the Baptism of the Spirit and the Spiritual Gifts, God mad sure his
people were well equipped.
II. Baptism of the Holy Spirit
One important fact about the Baptism of the Holy Spirit is that it is a gift. It s not something we
earn, with merit or even personal righteousness. We in our selves are never upright, good or
righteous enough to earn the Baptism of the Spirit. In the same way we would receive a gift on
Christmas day from our parents, we didn t earn that gift but they love us and give us gifts of
love. The Baptism of the Spirit is not to be earned, but received from a loving father. Therefore
all that is required of us is to receive it. The Baptism of the Holy Spirit is

Symbols in the Fairy Tales and Folk Tales
Certain psychologist have hypothesized that fairytales represent the most primitive way the mind
operates, and within certain folktales, the true message is possible hidden beneath symbols. One
folktale in particular, Little Red Riding Hood, is full of symbols with possible deeper meanings.
For example some people have speculated that the red hood that Little Red Riding Hoodwears is a
symbol of the girls sexuality and the little in her nickname places an emphasis on her budding
nature. That is to say the young girl is in the beginning stages of becoming a woman and doesn t
possess much knowledge on the subject of sex. Keeping with this same theme, it can further be
hypothesized that the wolf represents the foreign idea of sex, which the young girl finds both
unsettling and alluring. By telling the wolf the directions to her grandmother s house, Little Red
Riding Hood is evading having to confront the uncomfortable feeling created by the wolf s
presence. Instead of dealing with him, Little Red Riding Hood redirects him to her grandmother
who is already a woman and is therefore more mature and capable of dealing with the wolf and
what he represents (Bettelheim 1). Additionally, the winding path with the flowers that Little Red
Riding Hood picks represents temptation and the contrasting direct path to Grandmother s house
represents virtue. Finally, the act of the wolf eating the little girl is a symbol for the loss of her
innocence due to the fact that the only reason the

Fukyama V huntington Essay
Francis Fukuyama and Samuel Huntington are two of the most controversial and influential
modern political theorists of our times. Fukuyama s book, The End of History and the Last Man,
and Huntington s book, The Clash of Civilizations and the Remaking of World Order, pose two
very conflicting theories on international relations. In this paper I will summarize and compare

To understand Fukuyama s theory one must look beyond the specific words. Fukuyama is not
claiming that history has or will end and that occurrences of history will cease to exist. He is saying
that democracy is such a perfect and Idealistic form of rule that no major change in political
philosophy can happen in the future. Historical occurrences will still exist, but they will be within
the realm of the current political philosophical thought. Fukuyama goes even further to prove his
point by showing that the new philosophies on government created since the oncoming of
democracy, (Communism, Socialism, etc.) have ultimately failed and democracy has prevailed in
its place.
In the Clash of Civilizations and the Remaking of World Order, Samuel Huntington argues that the
primary political actors in the 21st century will be civilizations and that the primary conflicts will
be conflicts between these civilizations rather then between nation states.
Huntington Writes:
It is my hypothesis that the fundamental source of conflict in this new world will not be primarily
ideological or primarily economic. The great divisions among humankind and the dominating
source of conflict will be cultural. Nation states will remain the most powerful actors in world
affairs, but the principal conflicts of global politics will occur between nations and groups of
different civilizations. The clash of civilizations will dominate global politics. The fault lines

Implementation Of Incremental Development Process
incremental development process makes it the opposite to the rigid requirement needs of the
Waterfall method. Agile methodologies are open to change as the project starts and progresses.
The contrasting requirements need of the two methodologies, is one of the main contrast points
in today s project life cycle processes. There is a constant struggle between the two processes
even in today s business landscape. I have worked at Google as a program manager mobile and
after Google, I worked at a satellite manufacturing company called Space Systems Loral. The
former is a software company and latter is a hardware company. At Google, they have embraced
agile methodologies for software development, as the company is very progressive in nature.
They are also very open to feedback from their users, and therefore agile allows them to take in
product suggestions and address users needs with no predetermined rigid requirements from clients
or users for initial requirements. Work is done in mini project or sprints format and when there is a
need to shift directions, everything already worked on is scrapped if not necessary, and then a
complete reset occurs. Since the project s initial framework is not known at the time the project
starts, the final product can deviate drastically from what was initially envisioned. At Space
Systems Loral, being that it is a hardware satellite manufacturing company, they inherently have to
adopt the waterfall methodology for their needs.

Atticus Finch Argumentative Essay
1) Atticus Finch backs up Tom Robinson and puts his reputation, his friendships, and his career
in harm s way. Atticus does this because Judge Taylor asked him to back Tom up because Taylor
knew Atticus was not racist like other lawyers in the area. Atticus is not prejudice, and so Judge
Taylor thought the only way to possibly prove Tom not guilty was to have a lawyer that would
actually try to help him and not judge Tom before the trial. Also, Atticus agreed to this because he
wanted to do what was right and try to spare Tom s life. I think Atticus risks to much for this trial.
For example, before the trial Scout asks, Atticus, are we going to win it? No, honey (Lee 76). Even

example, after Mr.Ewell spit on Atticus s face, Atticus explains, So if spitting in my face and

previous connection is because the Asian male did not ask for them to do anything he told
them. Even though the members were all adults they did not rebel or even give any rebuttal.
They did just as he asked, so that shows me that they have respect for him. I do not think that he
would have spoken as demanding as he did if he did not know them, if I was trying to develop
members for any organization I would be passive and eager to please so the member would feel
welcome and want to return to my groups. After everyone was seated the Asian male asked if
anyone had a special scripture that they wanted to focus on. No one replied. The leader seemed to
be a little disturbed. He became a little angry, he told them that he was disappointed because he
assigned them homework, which was to find a scripture and bring it to the group. Luckily he came
prepared and had his own bible verses he wanted to talk about since he didn t have anybody
volunteers. At this particular meeting the leader spoke about homosexual relations, he asked me
did I want to participate but I told him I was only present for documentation purposes. Although I
am a Christian my social work values are also very clear everyone is the same, there is no
discrimination. While talking

Foreign Investment And Trade Policy
Foreign Investment and Trade Policy: Brazil can be seen as country that is open and inviting
foreign investments. Brazil remains the top destination for FDI in the Latin American region
and according the A.T. Kearney Foreign Direct Investment Confidence Index for 2015, Brazil is
ranked #6 as a global FDI destination. FDI inflows into Brazil stood at USD 60.5 billion as on
Feb 2015, (Central bank of Brazil). The US Department of State s report on Brazil states that
Brazil is a foreign investment friendly country however complex tax, local content and regulatory
requirements must be looked out for. The Brazilian economy s GDP growth has been erratic, but

Foreign capital must be registered on this system before 30 days of its entry or customs
clearance in the case of goods. Some of the highlights of this policy are: Besides registration of
capital there is no restriction on remittances of capital abroad. Amounts paid out to foreign
shareholders and partners are not taxed. Repatriation of capital is also tax exempt, subject to the
amount not exceeding the original investment. Foreign investors may invest in Brazilian financial
institutions subject to a few conditions. Brazil s Trade Policy: According to a WTO policy
document on Brazil, Brazil considers the multilateral trading system fundamental to attaining its
development goals based on sustainable and socially inclusive economic growth . Brazil practices
this goal by being an active participant in various international and regional forums like the WTO,
BRICS, and the MERCOSUR. These multi country organizations aim to facilitate trade between
member countries and also help in achieving common goals. In Brazil the Chamber of Foreign
Trade (CAMEX) is responsible for formulating and implementing the trade policy. All matters
related to trade must be referred to the CAMEX before being implemented. Policy on imports:

International Convergence Of Capital Measurement And...
1.Introduction
The 2008 Global Financial Crisis (GFC) and its aftermath had critically damaged the world
economy with a drag in global economic growth. Indubitably, the imprudence in which banks
managed their risks and capital holdings were among reasons that caused the crisis. It raised the
need for industry reform, leading to G20 s Basel III proposal in 2010 to strengthen the global
capital framework by imposing stricter rules regarding capital and liquidity requirements, as well as
a focus on transparency, consistency and quality. 2.Regulatory Framework

Arden Of Faversham Critical Analysis
The play Arden of Faversham follows the Renaissance genre of tragedy, yet it focuses on the
domestic sphere in the unconventional setting of Arden and Alice s home, rather than the courtly
setting of most tragedies written in the Elizabethan period, in the realm of nobility. While most
tragedies following this genre concern themselves with the authority of those in the noble court,
Arden of Favershams primary concern is with the authority within their own home.
As theatre began shifting away from the political sphere in the Elizabethan period and focused
more on comedic and tragic genres, playwrights were able to feature more intimate and domestic
issues in their spectacles, but still regarded courtly settings as the appropriate setting ... Show more

This is demonstrated after Gaveston reads the letter brought to him from the king, as he states,
What greater blisse can hap to Gaveston,/ Then live and be the favorit of a king? (Edward I.I 4
5). This letter is calling Gaveston back to Edward s court, Gaveston s exile and return is a
reoccurring theme throughout the play. Marlowe constructs this play through the characterization
of his characters, as the king searches for his identity in his relationship with Gaveston. The play
itself opens with a soliloquy by Gaveston, My father is deceast ; come, Gaveston,/ And share the
kingdom with thy deerest friend (Edward I.I. 1 2), yet these first two lines are actually the words
of the king, interplaying the relationship with the king, and the role of the courtly world. However,
while Arden and its characters stray from the courtly world created in Edward II and The Spanish
Tragedy, the author of Arden does not keep this consistent throughout. For example, although Arden
is unconventionally not of noble birth, he does marry Alice who was descended of a noble house
(Arden I.202). Although the play is not directly representing a concern with state issues and
territories,
The playwright of Arden uses irony, as seen in the passage, My saving husband hoards up bags of
gold/ To make our children rich (Arden I. 220 1). The irony represented in this statement is
magnified as it was Alice who claims that her husband saving money for their next generation, yet
she is

Mission Trip Narrative
(The last suitcase was shoved into the back of the bus, and our next stop would be Winchester,
Virginia.) My youth group and I were headed to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania for a mission trip. We
would be involved with a program called P 2 mission, which partnered us with a local church,
Calvary Christian. During the day we would be doing street outreach and during the night we
would be hosting a Vacation Bible School. There was an urgency to have this church up and
running because the community around it was crumbling. The church itself was located in a shanty
town. Violence was on the rise and the community was in desperate need of a strong foundation.
The corruption was spreading so rapidly that the church s basketball court was becoming a place
where sexual predators would prey on young children.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Our bus broke down, our hotel rooms were given away, we had no air conditioning for a majority
of the trip, and what we thought would take us 11 hours ended up taking 26. We finally arrive at
the school, where we would be sleeping for the remainder of the week. We stepped foot off the
bus and we were immediately aghast at how sweltering the air was. Apparently, Philadelphia was
in the midst of a heat wave, bringing in record highest of 105F. After such a long journey the
feeling of failure was weighing upon us. At the end of the day we were all exhausted and ready
to fall into a deep slumber. Then we realized our room, just like the bus, had no air conditioning.
We lay there sweating against the plastic filled air mattress dreading the proceeding day when we
would be hiking the melting streets of

The Stereotype Of A Smart High Achieving Asian American...
The model minority is a member of a minority group either based on ethnicity, race, or religion
whose members are commonly perceived to achieve a higher level of success than the average
population. The success that an individual reaches is typically measured by income, education, low
crime rates and high family stability achieved throughout their lives. The stereotypeof the model
minority is commonly associated with Asian Americans as they are assumed to achieve highly in
academics which will thus propel them up the economic ladder. The stereotype of a smart high
achieving Asian Americanstudent is fueled by other stereotypessuch as Asians being good at math
and that they all go to college. The intelligence stereotypes created by society are the reason why
some individuals feel pressured to succeed and feel as if failure is not as option. If its not the
student who feels the pressure, than it is the parent that pushes to child to do well. So called
helicopter parents, that push their children into professions or schools that the child may not want
to attend, but have no choice as the school or profession will bring upon great fortune and pride
to the family. The parents push upon their own ambitions and dreams onto the child and are
looking out for the child s future even if it is not necessarily the child s desire. However, along
with the idea of a child succeeding both academically and financially come the notion that the child
may only excel in school. The child

Analysis Of Louisa Alcott s Little Women And Jo s Boys...
Elizabeth Layne Dale

Character Development in Louisa Alcott s Little Women and Jo s Boys
Many people are and were consumed with the character development in Little Women which
was first published in 1945. A sequel of Little Women is the book Jo s Boys; Alcott s admirers
suggested that she produce a spin off of her story Little Women. In 1886 Louisa Alcott decided to
write Jo s Boys because her readers wanted to know what happened to all of the little girls that
were in Little Women. For this essay, there will be an observation of the two novels Little Women
and Jo s Boys written by Louisa May Alcott.
Firstly, in chapter 1 of Little Women, Louisa Alcott starts off her novel with the young siblings
discussing how Christmas will not be the same without presents and how they don t think it s fair.
Christmas won t be the same without presents, grumbles Jo, lying on the rug.
It s so dreadful to be poor! Sighed Meg, looking down at her old dress.
I don t think it s fair for some girls to have plenty of pretty things, and other girls nothing at all,
added little Amy, with an injured sniff (http://xroads.virginia.edu/).
In correlation of the novels Little Women and Jo s Boys, Alcott portrays a realistic view of the
young girls discussing how Christmas won t be the same without receiving presents; In Jo s Boys
Mrs. Jo is recalling to Mrs. Meg about the wondrous changes that have occurred throughout the
years. Second, the

What Is The Mood Of The Lady Of Shalott
In the poem The Lady of Shalott, we find a woman, who is trapped inside of her own home by a
curse. She is faced with the fact that she cannot experience reality due to this curse that for
whatever reason has been placed on her. The poet uses imagery and symbolism to portray the
feelings in the story as well as the hidden meanings within the poem. Imagery within the story
poses the mood of the setting. The poem states, Four gray walls, and four gray towers, overlook
a space of flowers (Part 1, Stanza 2). The poet describes the place in which the lady dwells as being
very dreary, and lonesome. Also, the poet talks about the Lady of Shalottbeing tired of the shadows
which also provides insight into the living conditions in which the womanresides.... Show more

Both the mirror and the loom act as key symbols in the story. For the mirror, it represents the
absence or even a fake reality. The Lady of Shalott longs for experience of true reality, in which
she cannot experience due to the curse imposed on her. Though a mirror reflects the image of
reality, what is seen is not the actual thing. The loom acts in a similar way. As the woman slaves
over her works of art, she never directly sees the progression of her craft, but only the reflection
of it. In light of the Victorian era, art acts in the same way. Art is a portrayal of reality from the
view of the artist. Like the role of the mirror, art does not directly show reality but the reflection of

Lehman Brothers And The Financial Crisis
Lehman Brothers Holdings, Inc. on September 15, 2008 was the fourth largest U.S. investment
bank, which sought Chapter 11 protection, ultimately initiating the largest bankruptcy proceeding in
history. Lehman Brothers was very successful in pursuing a high leverage, high risk business model
to fund its operations. Beginning in 2006, they began to invest aggressively in the real estate
related assets, soon having significant exposures to subprime mortgages, just as the markets were
turning for the worst. Lehman Brothersemployed a staff of accountants and risk professionals to
monitor its balance sheets and risks constantly. It decided to take questionable actions to stay alive
in the market. Nevertheless, they ultimately failed due to an... Show more content on

Leman s demise was mainly its significant exposure to the subprime mortgage and real estate
markets. As the markets began to slow down, a retraction was sparked for short term loans as the
growing concerns of unknown exposures spread to other types of assets. Lehman relied on these
short term markets to raise billions daily. Ultimately, it s inability to secure funding was their
undoing.
This overview of the case provides Lehman s background information, it s controls, performance
measures, key personnel, as well as the market and regulatory environment during the financial
crisis.
Questions:
1.How/why compliance with external controls does not ensure sufficient internal controls?
2.Do performance measures and the reporting of those measures play a role in economic crimes or
misconduct?
3.Would the activities at Lehman and E Y be considered fraud or misconduct and why?
The Rise and Fall of Lehman Brothers

  • 2. Education Is The Most Important Part Of Every Human Today, Education is the most important part of every human being in this world. But, how can a developed country like the United States consider education as a privilege rather than a need. Today, America is suffering from lack of workforce and education crisis. America s economy is collapsing and it is losing to countries like china, Brazil, Russia, etc. because Americans are deprived of education because of high collegecosts. High school graduates in America want to attend college but when they attend college, either they drop out of college or they graduate but end up paying money for studentdebtand loans throughout their life. According to Vermont senator Bernie sanders, today Americans have a burden of 1.3 trillion dollars in debts and loans. This amount is much greater than the amount of credit card. Because of lack of education, there is a huge income gap between the wealthier and poor. America is called, Land of the Free and Home of the Brave , But how can a country be the home of the brave if its people are not educated. To make America better and stronger, education should be free for every U.S. citizen and so the public universities and colleges should be free. A free education would enable every American to achieve the American Dream. It would fill the income gap between poor and rich and would boost the economy of the nation. For a better understanding, we must look at the cost of tuition of public universities in America. In the past decade, the cost ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Women And Men In Conversation By Deborah Tannen From You just don t understand: Women and men in conversation , Deborah Tannen shows the gender differences in conversation. The main idea is that women value relationship and empathy within a group, while men are struggling to raise their status and class. According to Deborah Tannen, this affects how they think and speak. Generally, men talk more in a public situation, while women talk more in private settings. Most women tend to use rapport talk for conversation, a way of establishing connections and negotiating relationships, whereas most men tend to use report talk, a way of preserving independence and maintain status in hierarchical social order (Deborah Tannen, You just don t understand: Women and men in conversation) There are different understandings between genderabout what conversation is for. To him, talk is information, which is used to inform what he needs to know or what he wants other to know. To her, however, talk is for interaction, a way to show involvement, whereas listening is a way of caring. Therefore, in public events, men are more comfortable to claim attention with this understanding of talking.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Due to the different ways of expressing politeness and conversational involvement, they may have trouble communicating even if they share the same language. The two cultures approach proposes that talk between women and men is fraught with potential misunderstanding for much the same reasons that communication across the ethnic groups is (Mary Crawford, Talking Difference On Gender and Language, 1995). Hence, I agree with the point of view of Deborah Tannen. However, You just don t understand: Women and men in conversation does not inform readers about the reasons and the consequences of the communication differences between genders. Therefore, this essay will include the above ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Do we dream to save our mind from insanity and stress or is it because it s a natural process? There is one thing for certain though most people dream, the question is can they remember it. The truth is all creatures can enter a certain type of REM sleep but it s uncertain if they experience dreams on a human plane of thought. When we enter REM sleep our Rapid Eye Movement stage of sleep the deepest part of our sleep, the human body undergoes a temporary paralysis to stop the sleeping person from potential harmful movement. The dreamingprocess usually happens in this stage, but has been reported in NREM sleep. Some individuals ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

There are four models of HMOs: Staff Model The Health Maintenance Organization employs the physician, and care is usually provided in a facility owned by the HMO. Group Model is structured around a multi specialty medical group that may include internists, obstetricians, gynecologists, cardiac and oncology specialists and surgeons contracting exclusively with the HMO to provide services. Network Model is an HMO that contracts with many IPAs and other provider groups to form a physician network. Mixed Model is a combination of delivery systems. • 6. Baroque Art Depicted the Religious Tensions During that... Art in the Baroque period was used to depict the religious tensions present at the time. Coincidentally, the philosophy of the time also played a key role in addressing the tensions that existed during the period. As a result of the focus on similar aspects of the society, there emerged numerous similarities between the artwork of the time and the ideas expressed by philosophers such as Descartes and Leibniz. It is critical to assess the views of the different philosophers in order to determine how the artwork was similar to their perceptions of the world. This essay addresses the views of Descartes in relation to the principles of Baroqueart. In particular, the essay focuses on the works of Vermeer and Rembrandt, seeking to determine how their art relates to the philosophical views of Descartes. Rembrandt Rembrandt was one of the most influential Baroque artists of the 17th century, with popular works such as the Anatomy Lesson of Dr. Tulp, the Night Watch, and Angel Leaving Tobit and Tobias (Open University of Kaohsiung). His success was based on the fact that his work did not go out of fashion. The spiritual life of Holland during the Baroque period required him because he was relevant in presenting ideas about the period in his work. Some of the most successful works of Rembrandt were depictions of biblical stories that he presented in highly relevant detail. The painter represented the scriptures from the Bible in the minutest detail by integrating it with his own ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

There are different types of abuse, examples are, family abuse, neglect, and emotional abuse. On average, most children that grow up in an abusive home are most likely to become abusive towards their spouse and or kids. Family abuse can be the worse because it affects the whole family. Emotional abuse affects the inside and that can be mentally damaging. Most of the time, neglectabuse is not always intentional. It s caused by inexperienced parents not knowing how to raise the child. This paper, will focus on the affects domestic abuse has on children. When children are exposed to family violence, it effect the children mentally and physically. It makes kids fearful of other adults or elders. The child could start to lie about the abuse and start to feel that it s their fault. Which makes them afraid to even talk to their own family about the abuse. It can lead the child to abuse drugs when they get older. Children can even grow up to resent their parents for abusing them or to even let it happen. Legality Of The Threat Or Use Of Nuclear Weapons Legality of the Threat or Use of Nuclear Weapons , Advisory Opinion, was first brought to the attention of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) by the World Health Organization (WHO) on September 3, 1993. The ICJ did not decide on the matter at that time because they felt that the WHO was ultra vires, or acting outside its legal capacity. Nucleophilic Substitution Reaction Lab Report Substitution Reactions, Purification, and Identification Introduction (Q:1 2) An unknown (nucleophile) was subjected to SN2 reaction when combined with benzyl bromide (electrophile) in a sodium hydroxide (base) solution. The experiment provided a clear understanding in conducting nucleophilic substitution reaction where heat must be applied in order for the SN2 reaction to move forward. The goal was to determine the unknown by incorporating knowledge of polarity, the laws of physics, and the role of energy when forming crystals; like dissolves like , matter cannot be created nor destroyed . This was concluded by combining information on melting points and TLC; melting range narrowed when filtered product was mixed with the standard product. Also, the Rf value of the pure product is closely related to the Rf value of the standard. TLC of filtrate showed no movement of the substance in the mixture under 9:1 ratio declaring the substance to be extremely polar. Of the three potential unknown reactants, 4 methoxyphenol would be the most polar and therefore would travel least up the TLC plate. (Q14:Yield) 81.2% product yield was collected. Matter cannot be created nor destroyed , therefore some product could have filtered through. TLC of filtrate confirmed remnants of product present. Filtering the filtrate could have increased the yield. (Q15:Recovery) The percent recovery of the product makes sense because it is the mass of the crystallized product divided by the crude product: 94.9%. The percentage reflects the mass of pure product (without the presence of impurities). (Q16:MP) Melting point coincides with the unknown nucleophile being 4 methoxyphenol because when the standard product was combined with our pure product, the melting range narrowed. When compared to the melting ranges obtained when mixed with the other two possible products the melting ranges significantly decreased and widened. This is often an indication of impurities being present, but because this was a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In the public school system, from elementary to secondary they have a classroom where all children with learning disabilities are able to interact with a teacher or teacher aid one on one. The amount of disorders that are helped and treated through the special education system is broad. It is so broad that they tend to students such as an individual who is not able to pay attention in an ordinary class, to students who are non ambulatory, visually impaired, and deaf. The special education class allows students with learning disabilities to get individual attention that is needed in order for the student to focus and make it to the next step in life. Everything from the student s setting to needs are planned and monitored. The special education teachers are able to provide support such as assisting with identified modifications to student s academic and physical tasks in order to meet their needs and help their differences in the learning cycle. However, not all special education students need one on one teacher aids. The need for a one to one assistance is considered, depending on the individuals needs. In Digging, Heaney establishes the setting of the poem by describing that he is in what seems to be a room with a window that overlooks an area of green. He starts the poem off with Between my finger and my thumb / The squat pen rests; snug as a gun. / Under my window, a clean rasping sound / When the spade sinks into gravelly ground: / My father, digging. I look down ( Digging ). He uses the appeals to sound, as in a clean rasping sound and the spade sinks into gravelly ground, as well as appeals to sight, I look down, and appeals to touch, [b]etween my finger and my thumb, to create an image in the reader s mind of what that day, or perhaps thought, looked like. The image that is created is one that shows contrast, in this case between an unidentified narrator and his father. As the poem continues, Heaney describes But I ve no spade to follow men like them. / Between my finger and my thumb / The squat pen rests. / I ll dig with it. The contrast that this furthers is the idea that the narrator is very different from his father, creating a divide that can be the start of tension. When it comes to representations of Blacks on television, the 1980s can be seen as a decade of elevated inclusion both in terms of the quantity and quality of roles which remains the norm today. (Tukachinsky, Mastro, Yarchi, 2015). Over the years, we will see more shows gearing their audiences to the black community. Producers add in a few social issues to reel viewers in, but the fact remains the same that a prime time heavy hitting shows, will most likely have less than 20% of their cast of African descent. In consonance with researchers, blacks currently constitute between 14 17 percent of the prime time population. (Tukachinsky, Mastro, Yarchi, 2015). • 20. Analysis Of The Circumplex Model In On Golden Pond The Circumplex Model: Adaptability and Flexibility Throughout On Golden Pond, it is apparent that Chelsea, Norman, and Ethel are rigidly enmeshed. According to Olson s circumplex model, rigidly enmeshed families have authoritarian leadership, strict discipline, roles rarely change, there is too little change. Additionally, enmeshment in families is illustrated by very high closeness, very high loyalty, high dependency, and a lack of individuality (Sanders Bell, 2011). Although Chelsea is distant with her family in the number of visits it is an artificial distance of time and space. They are strongly emotionally entangled as demonstrated through the ability of the family to emotionally affect one and other. Slightly like the characters in On Golden Pond, the family in Stepmom appear to be chaotically enmeshed. The circumplex model claims families who are chaotic present with a lack of leadership, erratic discipline, dramatic role shifts, and too much change (Sanders Bell, 2011). Chaos is present in the structure of the two living environments of the children: one environment is structured and the other one is disorderly. This leads to confusion for the children because the system lacks consistency. Enmeshment is personified through the children s emotional fusion with their mother. When Jackie is upset with Isabel, the children are upset with Isabel. The children and the mother s emotions are intertwined. On the other hand, Rita slightly contrasts the two families above as she appears to be rigidly disengaged instead of enmeshed. Rita and Denny are not intimately close. This is illustrated as Rita responds to a question by saying, loyalty? I [have] you know, I [have] tried to explain it to my husband ... I think he [is] thick (Gilbert, 1983). Rita s family lacks the flexibility to change. People get married and have kids. There is no self exploration, enlightenment, and adaptability is absent. The Concrete Content and Abstract Process Norman characterized several content and process issues throughout On Golden Pond. The first part of the movie exposes Norman s fixation on his age and pending death. From his confrontation with the kids, while refueling his boat to his efforts about getting a job, ... • 21. The Epic of Gilgamesh What Meets The Eye In today s day and age, literature and media have ample effect on how our society influences individuals. Women are perceived as sexual objects, but have the ability to persuade and influence the male character in literature. The Epic of Gilgamesh portrays the significance ancient Mesopotamian Literature has made on the social image that women possess pertaining to sexuality and appearances to the public eye in modern culture. In Gilgamesh, the harlot Shamhat held a reputation proving that women are only represented in one way. To support this argument, many aspects such as defining the Male Gaze, heroism, and how women influence the main character, all prove how poorly women are portrayed in literature and furthermore in modern media and culture. The Epic of Gilgamesh focuses mainly on the two male protagonists Enkidu and Gilgamesh. Shamhat was later introduced into the story as a temple prostitute that had the reputation of taming wild beasts (Martin 103). She domesticates Enkidu into the ways of humankind using seduction, but as the story continues, it shows how truly important Shamhat s position is in the epic. Shamhat, in her role, is a generous force that brings knowledge and progress to a strong hero preparing him for the many tribulations ahead. For example some people have speculated that the red hood that Little Red Riding Hoodwears is a symbol of the girls sexuality and the little in her nickname places an emphasis on her budding nature. That is to say the young girl is in the beginning stages of becoming a woman and doesn t possess much knowledge on the subject of sex. By telling the wolf the directions to her grandmother s house, Little Red Riding Hood is evading having to confront the uncomfortable feeling created by the wolf s presence. Instead of dealing with him, Little Red Riding Hood redirects him to her grandmother who is already a woman and is therefore more mature and capable of dealing with the wolf and what he represents (Bettelheim 1). Even though data transfer techniques have advanced significantly, internal business system configurations need to be developed to allow for these transfer techniques to be used efficiently. Product data management must ensure that all participants involved in product and process design work from the same data source for process coherency and prevent none value added ... • 40. Atticus Finch Argumentative Essay 1) Atticus Finch backs up Tom Robinson and puts his reputation, his friendships, and his career in harm s way. Atticus does this because Judge Taylor asked him to back Tom up because Taylor knew Atticus was not racist like other lawyers in the area. Atticus is not prejudice, and so Judge Taylor thought the only way to possibly prove Tom not guilty was to have a lawyer that would actually try to help him and not judge Tom before the trial. Also, Atticus agreed to this because he wanted to do what was right and try to spare Tom s life. I think Atticus risks to much for this trial. For example, before the trial Scout asks, Atticus, are we going to win it? No, honey (Lee 76). Even before the trial Atticus was doubtful about Tom being not guilty.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For example, when Atticus knows he is not going to win the trail he says, Simply because we were licked a hundred years before we started is no reason for us not to try to win (Lee 76). Atticus has to be brave and risk everything, so that he can try to spare Tom s life. Another example, after Mr.Ewell spit on Atticus s face, Atticus explains, So if spitting in my face and threatening me saved Mayella Ewell one extra beating, that s something i ll gladly take (Lee 218). Atticus has to be brave standing in front of Mr.Ewell and not act up. Showing bravery is hard for Atticus to do, but he knows he has to do it to save Mayella and do right. Also Scout shows this theme, after Mr.Ewell tried to stab scout and jem got hurt scout said, Atticus, I wasn t scared (Lee 280). This shows great bravery from scout because she s eight and she almost got killed and her brother is hurt, but she is not scared. She probably does this to put Atticus s mind at ease. If scout were to have told Atticus that she was very scared it could end up with Atticus being ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Each individual person had their own uniqueness about themselves and their contribution to the group. The leader of the group was a slender Asian male in his late forty s who was well spoken and maintained order in the group while still delivering a short sermon to the group. Whenever a person would speak out of turn he would let them speak and when they were done he would publicly correct them and tell the other adult group members that they should wait their turn to speak and if they have a... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As soon as I heard the way that the Asian male spoke to the group I could tell that there was a previous bond with the client. The reason that I can to the conclusion that there has to be a previous connection is because the Asian male did not ask for them to do anything he told them. Even though the members were all adults they did not rebel or even give any rebuttal. They did just as he asked, so that shows me that they have respect for him. I do not think that he would have spoken as demanding as he did if he did not know them, if I was trying to develop members for any organization I would be passive and eager to please so the member would feel welcome and want to return to my groups. After everyone was seated the Asian male asked if anyone had a special scripture that they wanted to focus on. No one replied. The leader seemed to be a little disturbed. He became a little angry, he told them that he was disappointed because he assigned them homework, which was to find a scripture and bring it to the group. Luckily he came prepared and had his own bible verses he wanted to talk about since he didn t have anybody volunteers. At this particular meeting the leader spoke about homosexual relations, he asked me did I want to participate but I told him I was only present for documentation purposes. Although I am a Christian my social work values are also very clear everyone is the same, there is no discrimination. While talking ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 44. Arden Of Faversham Critical Analysis The play Arden of Faversham follows the Renaissance genre of tragedy, yet it focuses on the domestic sphere in the unconventional setting of Arden and Alice s home, rather than the courtly setting of most tragedies written in the Elizabethan period, in the realm of nobility. While most tragedies following this genre concern themselves with the authority of those in the noble court, Arden of Favershams primary concern is with the authority within their own home. As theatre began shifting away from the political sphere in the Elizabethan period and focused more on comedic and tragic genres, playwrights were able to feature more intimate and domestic issues in their spectacles, but still regarded courtly settings as the appropriate setting ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is demonstrated after Gaveston reads the letter brought to him from the king, as he states, What greater blisse can hap to Gaveston,/ Then live and be the favorit of a king? (Edward I.I 4 5). This letter is calling Gaveston back to Edward s court, Gaveston s exile and return is a reoccurring theme throughout the play. Marlowe constructs this play through the characterization of his characters, as the king searches for his identity in his relationship with Gaveston. The play itself opens with a soliloquy by Gaveston, My father is deceast ; come, Gaveston,/ And share the kingdom with thy deerest friend (Edward I.I. 1 2), yet these first two lines are actually the words of the king, interplaying the relationship with the king, and the role of the courtly world. However, while Arden and its characters stray from the courtly world created in Edward II and The Spanish Tragedy, the author of Arden does not keep this consistent throughout. For example, although Arden is unconventionally not of noble birth, he does marry Alice who was descended of a noble house (Arden I.202). Although the play is not directly representing a concern with state issues and territories, The playwright of Arden uses irony, as seen in the passage, My saving husband hoards up bags of gold/ To make our children rich (Arden I. 220 1). The irony represented in this statement is magnified as it was Alice who claims that her husband saving money for their next generation, yet she is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

During the day we would be doing street outreach and during the night we would be hosting a Vacation Bible School. The model minority is a member of a minority group either based on ethnicity, race, or religion whose members are commonly perceived to achieve a higher level of success than the average population. The success that an individual reaches is typically measured by income, education, low crime rates and high family stability achieved throughout their lives. The stereotypeof the model minority is commonly associated with Asian Americans as they are assumed to achieve highly in academics which will thus propel them up the economic ladder. The stereotype of a smart high achieving Asian Americanstudent is fueled by other stereotypessuch as Asians being good at math and that they all go to college. The intelligence stereotypes created by society are the reason why some individuals feel pressured to succeed and feel as if failure is not as option. If its not the student who feels the pressure, than it is the parent that pushes to child to do well. So called helicopter parents, that push their children into professions or schools that the child may not want to attend, but have no choice as the school or profession will bring upon great fortune and pride to the family. • 47. Analysis Of Louisa Alcott s Little Women And Jo s Boys... Elizabeth Layne Dale 11th Advanced English C. Ellison 30 November 2016 Character Development in Louisa Alcott s Little Women and Jo s Boys Many people are and were consumed with the character development in Little Women which was first published in 1945. A sequel of Little Women is the book Jo s Boys; Alcott s admirers suggested that she produce a spin off of her story Little Women. In 1886 Louisa Alcott decided to write Jo s Boys because her readers wanted to know what happened to all of the little girls that were in Little Women. For this essay, there will be an observation of the two novels Little Women and Jo s Boys written by Louisa May Alcott. Firstly, in chapter 1 of Little Women, Louisa Alcott starts off her novel with the young siblings discussing how Christmas will not be the same without presents and how they don t think it s fair. Christmas won t be the same without presents, grumbles Jo, lying on the rug. It s so dreadful to be poor! Sighed Meg, looking down at her old dress. I don t think it s fair for some girls to have plenty of pretty things, and other girls nothing at all, added little Amy, with an injured sniff (http://xroads.virginia.edu/). In correlation of the novels Little Women and Jo s Boys, Alcott portrays a realistic view of the young girls discussing how Christmas won t be the same without receiving presents; In Jo s Boys Mrs. Jo is recalling to Mrs. Meg about the wondrous changes that have occurred throughout the years. • 48. What Is The Mood Of The Lady Of Shalott In the poem The Lady of Shalott, we find a woman, who is trapped inside of her own home by a curse. She is faced with the fact that she cannot experience reality due to this curse that for whatever reason has been placed on her. The poet uses imagery and symbolism to portray the feelings in the story as well as the hidden meanings within the poem. Imagery within the story poses the mood of the setting. The poem states, Four gray walls, and four gray towers, overlook a space of flowers (Part 1, Stanza 2). The poet describes the place in which the lady dwells as being very dreary, and lonesome. The Lady of Shalott longs for experience of true reality, in which she cannot experience due to the curse imposed on her. Though a mirror reflects the image of reality, what is seen is not the actual thing. The loom acts in a similar way. As the woman slaves over her works of art, she never directly sees the progression of her craft, but only the reflection of it. In light of the Victorian era, art acts in the same way.
