An Essay On Euphemism
A euphemism is a word used in the place of another to take away the harshness or crudeness. The
beginning of the word euphemism is (eu ) which means good in Greek. Euphemisms are usually used
to cover up the unpleasantness of situations; instead of saying something is terrible you can say it is
not the best. However, euphemisms can also be used to elevate an occupation and make it sound more
important and desirable. Certain occupations are frowned upon because they require little to no
education. Jobs that include a lot of physical labor are not very popular in contemporary society. To
combat the decline in popularity f physical labor jobs companies have started using euphemisms.

Nevertheless, lifeguards have been renamed wet leisure assistants in certain places. By changing the
title of the job, the industry makes itself seem more formal. Jobs that have perfectly respectable names
like librarian are also being tampered with. Librarians should be call information advisers according to
sources. Information adviser, albeit a good name, does not improve on the status of being a librarian.
Some new politically correct titles are overdoing it. Nurses are supposed to be able to comfort
patients, but with a name like mortality managers it is hard to convince someone you are on their side.
One of the most unnecessary title changes is the transition from accountant to Worldwide marine asset
financial analyst. The title sounds like some type of government position, perhaps even a diplomatic
job. Accountants are usually looked at as boring people due to their job description. The name may
have been an effort to change opinions of the career and inspire potential employees to give
accounting a chance. In conclusion, euphemisms can make a mundane job seem like an extravagant

Invertebrate Differences
Using the numbers from the table do you see obvious differences in the numbers and diversity of
invertebrate like found at the two sites? Increases and decreases in certain invertebrates can be seen at
the two sites. Upstream there were more Mayflies, Stoneflies, Caddisflies, Leeches, and Earthworms.
Downstream there were increases in Snails, Midges, Craneflies, and Blackflies and decreases of the
upstream invertebrates. Planaria was the only invertebrate that neither increased nor decreased since
there were none found at either site. Do you see any differences in the numbers collected by the tow

Sampling inconsistencies due to different groups could cause the biggest differences in the data.
Personal techniques, experience, and motivation would all be seen in the groups, which could change
the samples. Sampling inconsistencies due to different individuals taking samples and collecting in the
groups could affect each group s samples, also. Another factor to consider could be changes in
temperature and weather on different sampling days, which could affect the environment, water, and
invertebrates. Do you think our sample size is big enough to be meaningful? What effect would taking
more samples have on the reliability of our data? I think our sample size is big enough to begin
formulating a data chart and analyzing the results, but overall it is not big enough to fully support the
given hypothesis. More samples could possibly help further support the hypothesis. The more samples
and data that can be presented, the more reliable the data becomes. Describe something interesting
related to this lab that you saw today For me, finding the various types of invertebrates in general was
interesting. I especially found the small invertebrates that were camouflaged and attached to the rocks
fascinating. I think it is amazing that so many life forms, ones that are incredibly important to an

Analysis Of Anne Bradstreet To My Dear And Loving Husband
The Depth of Love
An Analysis of Anne Bradstreet s, To My Dear and Loving Husband. Anne Bradstreet s poem, To My
Dear and Loving Husband, is a timeless love poem. The poet expressed her deep admiration and love
of her husband through her gift of writing poetry. The poem is brief, yet powerful. Anne Bradstreet led
a Puritanical life and much of her poetic works are based on her life as a wife and mother. Her love for
her husband, as expressed in this poem, could have been considered a bit controversial at the time of
its writing. Women were to remain quiet about such matters as romance and be submissive to their
husbands. She wanted to live her eternal life, with her husband, as she lived on earth, as we read in the
last line of the poem, That when we live no more, we may live ever (Line 12). The Puritan life
commanded love of God first and above all, however Anne Bradstreet seemed to struggle with her
earthly desires and her Puritan beliefs. The poem is written in Iambic pentameter. Bradstreet wrote the
poem using a form of first person narrative. She also used the literary device of anaphora at the
beginning of the first three lines of the poem using If ever (1 3) and in the last two lines with we live.
(11 12) The tone is very romantic and emotional. The mood is somewhat reflective and happy. It
expresses the feelings of a woman in love. Bradstreet also uses the literary device of rhyming
couplets, with one notable use of the spelling persever (11), rather than persevere, to rhyme with ever
(12). It is possible that Bradstreet used couplets to further indicate the strong bond between a married
couple. Her marital bond with her husband is indicative of the Christian belief that when two
individuals are married, they are joined together by God as one. In keeping with her faith and her love
toward her husband, she states If ever two were one, then surely we, (1). She further exhorts her love
for her husband as her description of their union embodies the very definition of what true, marital
love should be as we read If ever man were loved by wife, then thee. (2). In Lines 3 and 4, Bradstreet
challenges anyone to compare their marital relationship to hers. There appears to be no other

Descriptive Essay On The Season Of Frost
The Season of Frost
Tiny slivers of ivory flakes were dancing about happily outside my window. The first snow of the
Winter season speckled the green vegetation a screen of radiant white.
It was December 23rd, 6;03 A.M. I live in Oregon, right by Crater lake. My family, one little brother,
two parents, and two animals. We live in a log cabin, in the woods a ½ mile away from the frozen
lagoon. It s beautiful during the Winter, or as my family calls it; the Season of Frost. The ice glazes
across the opaque water. Rich, opulent snow enriches the effect, making it hard to look at the
incandescent snow without blinding my round, hazel eyes. Carter(my 7 year old little brother) and I
always play in the crisp snow together, building forts and gifting snowballs to my parents.Speaking of
Carter... ¨Carmen! It s snowing!¨ Carter yelled, his piercing high bellow perpetrating under the crack
at the bottom of my door, through my reindeer pillow I had used to cover my head, and finally, into
my eardrum. I knew there was no getting out of this one, so I yawned loudly, wiped the faint whisper
of sleep out of my eyes, and got out of my bed. I brushed my copper brown hair and put on LAYERS
of warm clothes(all Christmas colors of course) and walked out my bedroom door.
Carter was waiting for me on the other side, his eager puppy dog eyes lighting up when he saw me
waltz out of my room, all ready to go outside. We live in a small house. 3 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, one
kitchen, and a

Queen Elizabeth I And Anne Boleyn
I know I have the body of a weak and feeble woman, but I have the heart and stomach of a king, and
of a king of England too. Queen Elizabeth I. Queen Elizabeth I was the daughter of king Henry VIII
and Anne Boleyn. She would later become the 5th ruler in the Tudor dynasty. After her half sister
Mary s rule she was hailed a hero and known for saving England through one of its toughest periods.
Even more impressive she ruled alone with no king. Queen Elizabeth was one of the best rulers in
European history, she overcame a lifetime of difficulty and was well liked among her people.
On September 7th 1533 Queen Anne Boleyn and King Henry VIII welcomed their baby, the future
Queen Elizabeth I into the world, the king and queen were very disappointed that Elizabeth was a girl.
All the calibrations they had planned were almost immediately canceled. It was almost as of they were
shamed to have birthed a girl. Due to her father King Henry VIII and her mother Queen Anne Boleyn
s questionable marriage and the timing of her birth many questioned if she was actually King Henry
VIII s daughter. Even if she really was however many consider her to be a child of adultery (Doran 8).
The controversy of Elizabeth s legitimacy and Henry and Anne s marriages put a strain on the family.
Henry believed that his marriage to Katharine was invalid from the beginning due to her previous
marriage to Henry s elder brother Arthur. This convinced some of Elizabeth s legitimacy. Since King
Henry VIII had still not had a male heir and the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Essay about A Solution to Foreclosure
A Solution to Foreclosure The current issue of home foreclosure is based off of a long series of bad
loans to people who were not able pay those debts off. Based on nightly news reports over the past
year, it appears that the majority of these foreclosures are on very modest homes. My solution to this
problem is to invest in those homes using green technology. President Obama has been a strong
proponent of weatherizing homes. Simple additions such as a rubber strip under the front door and a
sealant around windows can lower air conditioning and heating costs tremendously. These things are
cheap and easy to buy, and can reduce homeowner s electric bills. In the state of Florida in 2006, only
1,315 households were reported to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With government support, this could be changed. Using a government subsidy, many more people will
be able to afford to install solar panels. This subsidy would be directed towards middle and lower
income households who may be in danger of foreclosure. The energy generated by those solar panels
that are not used by house can be sent back to the power grid. Instead of the homeowner receiving the
benefits of that excess energy, the funds will go back to the government subsidy to pay for more solar
panels, and so on.
Solar panels and other green technology require someone to manufacture them. As a person invests in
green technology, they also invest in creating more jobs. One of the leading causes of foreclosure is
job loss. By investing in green technology, jobs can be created that require minimal training, which
people at risk of foreclosure can be easily trained to perform. In the 1930 s, President Franklin
Roosevelt created a large number of construction programs in order to boost the nation s economy. His
goal had two parts: to improve the quality of the country and to create jobs. While our national
unemployment has not reached the same level as it did during the Great Depression, it is hard to argue
the effectiveness of this strategy.
Based on a variation of the theory of supply and demand, if people take a

Shaping Identity Using Social Structure
INTRODUCTION Social structure and social interaction are integral in evaluating a person s identity.
Identities are the sets of meanings people hold for themselves that define what it means to be who they
are as persons, as role occupants and as group members (PJB article) People are generally influenced
by the norms and beliefs of society. A person s identity is formed through a combination of factors
derived from social structure (macrosociology) and social interaction (microsociology). The self
influences society through the actions of individuals thereby creating groups, organizations, networks,
and institutions (PJB a soiciological approach to self and identity). Reciprocally, society influences the
self through its shared language ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In addition, individuals can also reinforce their identity by using status symbols in as part of their
appearance. This can be in the form of a work uniform to signify an occupation, or in a fashion sense,
the type of clothing worn is a silent statement of what sets you apart from others. PARAGRAPH 3 As
Linton states, a person holds a status, and performs a role . Simply put, a status is a position and a role
is a set of behaviours. With each status, follows a certain role for us to take part in. People tend to
adapt to roles, moving through different roles in fluency as student, son, friend.Because people tend to
have many different statuses and therefore, many different roles, conflict occasionally occurs among
the various roles. The concept of role conflict is conflict among the roles connected to two or more
statuses (ref). A good example of role conflict lies in the working mother; she must take on the
responsibilities of mothering the children at home while taking on the responsibilities of working
outside the home, away from the children, in order to earn an income (RR). This kind of conflict
involves roles which arise from separate statuses, but the same sort of conflict can occur from the
roles of a single status. Role strain, then, is tension among the roles connected to a single status . A
teacher, for example, can be friendly with his or her students, but must remain objective in grading
them.

Hybrid Vehicles and Their Effect on the Environment Essay
Today, people use their own personal vehicles to travel more than ever before. Personal transportation
is no longer considered a luxury; it is now considered a necessity. The number of cars in the United
States has been growing steadily since the 1970s. The number of miles traveled by cars has risen
nearly 150 percent, yet the United States population has only grown roughly 40 percent during that
time (hybridcars.com, Driving Trends). Although it may seem like we are advancing into the future, in
reality, we are moving backwards from the effects these vehicles have on our bodies and the
environment. The pollution produced by these vehicles has brought us to the day where we must find
other modes of transportation that cause less ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
On the other hand, there are still other pollutants that have a greater effect on people and the
environment.
Carbon Monoxide Carbon monoxide is a colorless, odorless, poisonous gas that affects the flow of
oxygen to one s brain and other parts of the body. This gas merges with the hemoglobin in a person s
blood, which then weakens the flow of oxygen in the body (hybridcars.com, Pollutants). The effects
are severe and in some cases deadly towards smokers and people with heart disease (Larminie 246).
This toxin can permanently alter the central nervous system throughout the body (hybridcars.com,
Pollutants). Carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide are not the only pollutants that come from vehicles.
Sulphur and Nitrogen Oxides Sulphur oxides and nitrogen oxides both have great effect on the lungs.
Sulphur oxides cause respiratory illnesses, mostly in children, the elderly, and people who already
have heart and lung diseases (hybridcars.com, Pollutants). Nitrogen oxide causes the lungs to be
irritated and increase the chances of infection. Nitrogen oxide can also react with other surrounding
agents to cause ground level ozone, or smog. The creation of the ozone then irritates the eyes,
damages the lungs and causes respiratory problems (Larminie 246).

Summary Of Miss Mabel s School For Girls
First of all, I would love to thank the author for sending me a copy of this book so soon after I finished
the Miss Mabel s School for Girls. Let it be known that I absolutely loved Miss Mabel s School for
Girls, the first book in Katie Cross Network Series. It had wonderful characters, beautiful imagery,
and much more. It whisked you to a place of mysterious magic that you can t quite get over even after
you finish the book. It enraptured me and made me an instant fan. It seems rare that I love a sequel
just as much as the original, and it has only happened a few times before but Antebellum Awakening
has just joined that short list.I found the first, Miss Mabel s School for Girls, on NetGalley and I am so
glad I did. After posting my praise on this blog and all my other social media platforms, the author
offered me a copy of the second novel as well as a novella which I can t wait to dive into, by the way.
I loved that in this book we had an entirely new setting, it no longer takes place at Miss Mabel s but
rather at Chatham Castle which is basically the capitol of the Central Network. We get to explore so
much more in this book, we even travel to another Network in Antebellum. I also loved the addition of
the new characters and creatures, especially Merrick and Sonna. ... Show more content on

it is hardly a blossoming romance or anything of the sort, especially when compared with the
descriptions of Camille and Brecken or Michelle and Nicholas. This book kept up my favorite part of
the first book, and that was the all around girl power. The girls in these books basically rule, and it is

Essay About Snow White
There have been numerous different versions and different interpretations in both writing and on film
of the story known by most as Snow White . These different variations all have a universal theme and
storyline in common with one another. This specific version of the familiar fairytale is that of the
Grimm brothers, the two brothers Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm published their story Little Snow White
in 1812. This story by the Grimm brothers has a twist towards the ending when it is compared to the
version that most are familiar with, made popular by the Disney film Snow White and the Seven
Dwarfes . In addition to an alternate ending, it is also necessary to realize that in the story of Snow
White, there is more to look at and understand ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In this step is where Snow White begins to make decisions on her own and accept the fact that there
will be consequences for each and every action that she makes. After the huntsman defies the
stepmother s order of killing Snow White and allows her to run off into the woods, it allows Snow
White to be independent. This new found independency of Snow White is comparable to The Heroine
s Journey when Murdock states The heroine crossed the threshold, leaves the safety of her parents
home, and goes in search of herself. (90). Murdock explains that there will be challenges and adversity
for the heroine to struggle through, from both the outside world but also battle within herself. The next
in the road of trials comes when the stepmother and Snow White have their first encounter after the
stepmother attempted to kill Snow White for the first time. The stepmother realizes the huntsman
betrayed her when she receives the response of the mirror stating You, my queen, are fair; it is true.
But Snow White, beyond the mountains With the seven dwarfs, Is still a thousand times fairer than
you. (Paragraph 45). This both shocks and infuriates the stepmother because she still was not the most
beautiful woman of them all. There is a need for the stepmother to have Snow White dead, so she can
have all the attention of the King and this connects to the myth of romantic love in The Heroine s
Journey. The stepmother has the mindset of If I find the right man I ll be happy... I won t have to
figure out what I want to do. I can simply live his life and this is why she needs Snow White dead
(107). With Snow White dead then it would allow the stepmother to have a sense of fulfillment in her
life. The first occurrence where the stepmother attempts to kill Snow White is done so where Snow
White is deceived by the stepmother who was disguised as an old lady selling lace. The stepmother

Use Of Cinematic Techniques In Citizen Kane
The 1940s film industry favored films that were based on reality, such as Citizen Kane. Orson Welles
is the director of the 1941 film, Citizen Kane, which uses the cinematic techniques of long takes and
deep focus shots. Long takes and deep focus shots are associated with space and time. I will be writing
about scene D where Susan, the second Ms. Kane, is in the middle of a singing lesson. Scene D
contains examples of long takes, deep focus takes, and camera movements. Firstly, a long take is
defined as a take that has no cuts and continues for a while without being interrupted. Susan s singing
lesson scene is an example of a long take because the scene in uninterrupted. The scene begins when
older Susan recalls her husband, Mr. Kane s obsession with her singing voice. Then the shot turns into
Susan s memory of a singing lesson where her singing coach does not believe she has a talent for
singing. Furthermore, as the coach is complaining about Susan s voice, Mr. Kane walks into the room
and reprimands the teacher. The function of the long shot in this scene is to depict the power Mr. Kane
has in the scene, even though he is not present throughout the entire shot. Additionally, the singing
coach, the pianist, and Susan are all present for Mr. Kane s benefit. Furthermore, Mr. Kane was
attempting to salvage his image in the media. Mr. Kane forced Susan to be a singer and therefore he
hired a singing coach to train her, and the pianist, which is why the characters were all

Challenges South African Americans Faced
South African ecologists currently face many challenges relating to the conservation of biodiversity
and the growing economy. Excessive hunting and land development, as well as unemployment, all
remain growing concerns for this struggling country. Jan Hendrik, a South African who made contact
with us, stated, South Africa has lots of social and economic problems because most people are poor.
To get them to middle class requires the economy to grow through mines and the expansion of living
areas (Hendrik). The growth of South Africa s economy often occurs at nature s expense. Mining,

In order to effectively combat these issues, leaders must implement new courses of action that involve
fundraising and awareness through the use of rhetorical sensitivity. According to Lloyd F. Bitzer,
associate professor of speech at the University of Wisconsin, a rhetorical situation arises when a
circumstance requires the attention of an audience. The audience must overcome obstacles to achieve
a certain goal set forth by the leader utilizing rhetorical discourse (Bitzer 9). Fundraising provides one
way for South African eco tourism companies to maintain their business and promote more jobs for
local people. In order for fundraising to yield the best results, leaders must be aware that there is no
reason to apologize for asking for a gift to a worthwhile cause (Rosso 6). Essentially, leaders must
have confidence in their cause, whether it includes the preservation of South Africa s wildlife, the
protection of its animals, or the promotion of employment among members of the community. This
positive attitude encourages tourists to donate more money or time to the companies, aiding in
achieving the goal s fulfillment. Rhetorically sensitive fund raisers may present the exigence and
constraints to their audience. In the case of ecotourism, the audience consists of foreign tourists who
bring new money to circulate throughout the struggling South African communities. If leaders do not

Letter From A Birmingham Jail By Martin Luther King Jr
Human Rights Activist, Martin Luther King Jr, in his letter, Letter from a Birmingham Jail , writes to
the public, justifying his actions against segregation. King s purpose is to convey the idea that
segregation is morally wrong in all senses. He displays a disciplined, yet exasperated manner while
referencing historical and biblical events, to show society how segregation is inhuman.
King begins his letter to the clergymen of Birmingham by comparing his actions to that of biblical
figures, seeking social justice. He appeals to the audience s religious beliefs by paralleling the actions

What is Cryptography?
Cryptography is a method of storing and transmitting data in a particular form so that only those for
whom it is intended can read and process it. (Rouse, Definition: Cryptography, 2016)

The Red s Backbone And The Other s `` Tell Chilling...
Introduction; In the late 1960 s to early 1970 s Spain rose as one of the leading countries to dominate
the horror film genre. Struggling under a brutal and confining dictatorship for much of the 20th
century, Spanish cinema took a while to come together. During the hard days of General Franco s
regime a series of horror films, such as The Living Dead at Manchester Morgue, a zombie classic,
were produced, mainly for the English market. In the remaining years under Franco, hundreds of
horror films were released, all of which were identified by their violence, eroticism, and unrestrained
cinematography. Spanish horror films such as, The Devil s Backbone and The Other s, tell chilling
ghost stories that go beyond the genre and successfully mix suspense, horror, and the coming of age
during the harsh wartime.
History of Spanish Horror: After General Franco s regime fell, a new wave of young directors, such as
Bigas Luna and Pedro Almodovar, basked in their newfound freedom of expression to produce films
that were unrestricted. In the 21st century, a more mature Spanish film industry had returned to the
horror genre in a big way. There have been many of box office horror film hits produced outside of
Spain with Spanish talent behind the camera, such as The Others. Spanish horror films had been
designed to appeal to international markets due to a crisis in the Spanish film production that
prompted producers to seek profits in the established European distribution and exhibition

What Are The Ethical Implications Of The Kfc Business
Task 2, (2.1)
P2. Under this criteria I will explain the implications for the KFC Company and stakeholders which
operating ethical.
The implications of businesses operating ethically
Adapting Business Behavior
Within our world communication through each other is better now than it was 45 years ago, that
means to communicate with each other is now easier and better not like before now we can give
messages and save each other easy, such as Kfc Company will be able to keep up to date on what
happens in their factories will be aware of anything new in a matter of seconds. KFC has factories
along the road in Oman, any things happened in Kfc Company it will be easier to reach any messages
for their employees without waiting to know what happen so they will be able to come up with
solutions if they have any ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
So managers of Kfc Company they have the ethical pressure as they have to make sure they are
engaged in a moral and also on the right track. The benefits to the KFC when the moral response is
that they are doing business the right way and follow the laws and regulations. The disadvantage of
KFC moral response is that it would be difficult for them to be on top of morality (the implications of
businesses operating, 2016).
Implementing ethical practices
Some well known names have begun to implement the moral position on the issues that affect us all.
For example, working with consumer walker s change in their mind as they make changes to their
products. So it would be KFC to bear in mind the welfare of consumers when making products. The
benefits to the KFC Company s is that they can make products with the fact to meet the needs of
consumers. The disadvantage of the KFC is that they have to bear in mind what consumers will think
of their products, and that can be benefit them.

Organ Donation
Get him into the O.R. stat! After applying yourself to be a recipient for a donation, you will be added
to the waiting list for that organ. This can take months, if not years. Receiving an organ can be sudden
whenever an organ match has been found for you. We should reevaluate organ donation due to
someone s personal religion, inability to benefit the poor, numerous hospital visits, and potential
endangerment to their own well being. Therefore, in 2009, organ transplants became a demand
everywhere so abruptly that countless nationalities began selling their organs in return for money
(HRSA 1). Eighty one percent of commercial living donors (CLDs) in Egypt spent their Kidney

Krasnolutska also states that the Israeli eastern European organ trafficking rings extended their reach
to the United States. In July 2009, the Justice Department charged Levy Rosenbaum, an Israeli in New
York, with conspiracy of human organ trafficking. A Federal Bureau of Investigation agent caught
Rosenbaum offering a kidney for $160,000 (Budiani Saberi 37). Laws designed to prevent trafficking
are currently unsuccessful. While prosecutors in places such as Israel, Brazil, Kosovo and Ukraine
have successfully eliminated some of the organ trading gangs, they re still fighting powerful economic
forces. As long as there s a worldwide shortage of legal donors for life saving transplants, the
exploitation of the poor will only grow. Unless governments around the world enforce existing laws
on prohibiting procedures, the traffickers will continue to cultivate a growing legion of impoverished
organ sellers who end up with an immense wad of cash, says Glovin (Budiani Saberi 39 40). As a
result, suspicions of organ trades between Hong Kong and China in 1989 caused the Tiananmen
Square massacre arose. The Amnesty International noted an increase in China s submissions for the
death penalty, and reported on the use of executed prisoners organs without their consent. Dr. Ronald
D. Guttman, a McGill University professor, showed that after 1989, about ninety percent of China s
transplants came from executed prisoners. Along with Ronald Guttman was Forsythe stating that

Essay on The Physics of Motorcycle Roadracing
Despite what some people may think, motorcycle roadracing is not only a highly strenuous sport, but
there is much more involved than just twisting the throttle and turning the handlebars. There are a
number of powerful forces working on the bike and the rider. There is, of course, the downward pull
of gravity, friction between the tires and the track, and centrifugal force which acts to the outside of
the turn. The key to cornering at high speeds is to perfect the lean angle of the motorcycle so that the
force of gravity reaches equilibrium with the centrifugal force attempting to stand the bike back up. If
the bike is leaned to far, it falls over. If it is not leaned far enough, centrifugal force pulls it back up
and the turn is not ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, the rider would push on the left handlebar (turning the bars to the right) in order to make
a left turn. This may seem like a foreign concept at first, but it makes sense in the context of
gyroscopic motion. Consider a bicycle wheel:
The effects of gyroscopic precession can be felt when the wheel is held by the axle in the position
shown, spun, and then turned sharply to the left or right. If the wheel is turned to the left, the top will
twist to the right, pushing the bottom to the left. The same applies to a motorcycle when the wheels
are spinning very quickly and the machine is turned. Turning the handlebars to the left would force the
top of the wheel to move to the right, thus leaning the motorcycle in the opposite direction that the
wheel was turned.
The equation for this motion of the wheel is
T=IWv
where T is the torque, I is the moment of inertia, v is the wheel speed, and W is the angular velocity of
the turn. This equation relies on the conservation of the wheel s angular momentum.(Sport Rider
2002)
Steering Method #2: Body Steering
The concept of body steering relies on the rider s shifts in weight and pressure application on various
parts of the motorcycle to turn it. Theoretically, one could turn a bike without ever touching the
handlebars simply by shifting body weight. For example, to turn the bike to the left, the rider could
simply

Globalization And Its Impact On Society Essay
Globalization defines practically all facets of modern life. The jobs available to the public, the cultures
people embody/emulate, the relationships individuals engage in, are all continuously altered by the
profound forces of the globalizing process. Capital, people, images, commodities and ideology
transcend national borders, and information races around the globe at accelerating speeds (Inda 4).
The theme of globalization has emerged generating considerable amounts of controversy in its wake,
concerning economics, politics, and culture. These flows and disjunctures of globalization serve to
construct particular cultural realities around the world, articulating the importance of the global and
the local.
These days the world is another place it is not our own. Globalization is an insight into the present
now, yet our now has been constructed and fashioned to fit the mold of an ever changing, globalizing
process. To understand the phenomenon of globalization, we must understand the relations between
the past and the present. By understanding the relation between the past and the present we can
comprehend the importance of where we have been and how we have come to be. The past is and
should be perceived as a resource there is so much we can learn. The past, present, and the future are
all available for humans to use as resources for our imagination. Our imagination is a central resource
that can act as an anchor in the post modern world (Appadurai 30 31).

Understanding The Utility Of A Commodity
A commodity, according to Marx, is an external object that satisfies human wants as a use value while
functioning as an exchange value that enters into exchange with other commodities (303 304). On one
hand, the particular properties of an object, made possible by the particular kind of human labour
embodied in it, define the utility of a commodity and hence its use value, which cannot be measured
quantitatively due to the incommensurability across the diverse categories of utility. On the other
hand, the exchange value, determined by the socially necessary labour time required for producing the
commodity (306), establishes quantitative equivalences among the otherwise incommensurable use
values, acting as the only media through which the value of a commodity, independent of its use
value, manifests itself in exchange (305). It follows that to qualify as a commodity in Marx s
definition, an object has to contain human labour in it, must possess some utility, and finally needs to
be able to serve as a use value to others in order for its value to assert itself in exchange (307 308).
Marx contends that while it is trivial to understand a commodity as the end product of the purposeful
alterations of natural material to satisfy a particular want, a commodity becomes mystical once it
enters into exchange to realize its value in the form of the objectification of human labour (319 320).
The peculiarity of such objectification can be understood in two ways. Firstly,

The Pros And Cons Of Wild Horse Roundups
Imagine you are on a mountain and you turn around a notice a herd of wild horses grazing happily,
then all of a sudden you hear a low buzz in the distance. You notice that the wild horses become
agitated and start to descend into the valley of the mountain closely being followed by a helicopter.
You see the horses forced into holding pens and being separated from their bands wondering why this
is happening. Now try to imagine a word without the wild horses. Many people consider wild horses
to be a symbol of the west, and consider these wild horse roundups to be unnecessary and cruel, while
other people believe that wild horse roundups are necessary to keep the condition of their natural
landscape at its best quality. People argue that there are pros and cons to wild horse roundups. Some
pros that people state are that reduces the population of wild horses, and that it improves the condition
of the land that the wild horses graze on, while other people argue that roundups kill many horses,
horses are forced to separate from their herds or bands as they are sometimes referred to as, and these
roundups take horses out of their natural habitats, and put into government holding facilities where
there are more wild horses being held captive than there are left in the wild. Now the question is are
wild horse roundups truly the best for control of the wild horse population and control of the
environment, or is there ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

basketball tournament where sororities and fraternities come out to compete against one another. In
the spring we held Anchor Splash which is a synchronized swimming event with many different relay
races. This year we had the Whited family come and speak on their behalf. They explained how
Lochlan was diagnosed with CRB1 and how he will eventually loose his eyesight completely. This
story touched a lot of students, faculty, and families that attended our philanthropy. We made Lochlan
our featured anchor man and tried to raise as much money as possible for the family. This event was
very successful and we raised over 1,800 dollars to give to the family. Each year Delta Gamma has a

family has been experiencing with their son Lochlan. The alumnae wanted to raise money for this

Descriptive Essay About A Wedding
Growing up, one of my favorite movies to watch was Cinderella. It shows a classic fairy tale wedding
that almost every girl, including me, fantasizes about. Fortunately for me, I was given an opportunity
to be a part of one. It was 8 o clock in the morning on a fresh fall day. My mom and I arrived at Ulta
Beauty to meet with my sister to get our hair and makeup done. As soon as we walked in I could smell
the hairspray and saw all the makeup we had to choose from. I choose to do a classic bun with a braid
while my sister chose to do a loose bun with hair framing her face. For our makeup, we both chose to
do a classic fall, but light look. This consisted of using Clinique foundation with a light orange
eyeshadow and finishing the look with fake eyelashes. Our next task of the day was to meet at the
Best Western Hotel in New Ulm to get ready. I put on my bridesmaid dress and assisted my sister with
any final touch ups. She stepped into her cinderella, lace, full, cream colored ball gown and I laced her
up. My eyes have never seen anything more gorgeous than her. She glistened like snow on a sunny
day. To get more natural and clear looking photos, the wedding party headed downstairs to a room
with natural lighting to set up for pictures. Kara stood by the window while we all took turns fixing
her veil, or buttoning her dress, all while pictures were being taken. After an hour or so, we all made

express it daily with or without knowing it. The word has deep roots with many meanings. The word
has been compared to other words such as; trust, belief, and hope. However, faith has an entirely
different meaning. To have trust, belief, and hope in something can develop into faith, but they do not
independently have the same meaning as Faith. Faith is believing something so strongly that it affects
daily actions and thoughts. Faith can be revealed through devotion, trust, and love.

Love is forgiving, selfless, patient, kind and unconditional in all aspects. In faith, love can heal all
wounds. To have faith in something you must have love in it first. There is no limit of what love can
do and how it can affect people. Many people see love between a couple, but it is more abstract than
that. There are different types of love. The love among siblings, friends, and even family pets are far
diverse from each other. Love is the foundation which stabilizes faith. Faith can not be supported
alone on trust and devotion. Without love, faith would crumble to the ground.

The Concept Of Heteronormativity Is The Belief That It Is...
The concept of heteronormativity is the belief that it is only normal natural and universal to have two
different genders. In addition to these two genders it would only be normal if there were clear and
distinct differences between the two. This would include ones biological sex, ones gender identity, and
ones gender role in society. This would also mean it would be considered normal if these two different
genders sexuality were heterosexual. Meaning a normal sexual orientation would only be between one
male and one female. Our society defines these norms through institutionalizing these concepts in our
civilization. This concept of heteronormativity is considered a basic social institution because it has

This reminded me a lot about Doing Gender because we learned that we view doing gender as an
accomplishment. This is similar to heteronormativity because in society we do gender and learn
gender based off of these heteronormativity ideals and norms . These are examples of how
heterosexuality can be viewed as normative through culture. An example of compulsory
heteronormativity or something that questions this institution structure, is Drag Queens. A drag queen
is a person, typically male, who dresses and acts with exaggerated womanliness and portrays feminine
gender roles. Drag shows have the potential to arouse powerful desires that people perceive as
contrary to their sexual identities people thinking about the boundaries of heterosexuality. (Taylor and
Rupp, p.4, 2006) This could be viewed as compulsory heteronormativity because it s almost necessary
and unavoidable in this situation to question the heteronormativity of the setting. Another example of
this is the media has been better about showing exceptions to what is considered normal for example
in shows like Modern Family and Orange is the New Black were they have main characters with
different sexual orientations, like gay and lesbian. With these clear and distinct two different genders

In today s modern society alcohol addiction and alcohol abuse has become one of the most complex,
life threatening issues. Most depressed individuals usually indulge themselves in bars or pubs with

million Americans (7.4%) of the population meet the diagnostic criteria for alcohol abuse or

How Personal Values And Beliefs Influenced The Black...
How Personal Values and Beliefs Influenced the Black American Slave Narrative: Incidents in the Life
of a Slave Girl and Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass Compared.
Throughout the abolition movement, both men and women slaves were trying to escape from slavery,
and find their way to freedom in the North. Many of wrote their stories down. Some with the aid of
ghost writers, and often under pseudonyms to protect their safety. These slave narratives spoke of the
sufferings of the slave experience in America (Campbell 1). Because black men and black woman
experienced slavery differently, they wrote about them differently. Those differences can be seen in a
comparison of Frederick Douglass s, Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass, An American Slave
(1845), and of Harriet A. Jacobs, Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl, Written by Herself (1861).
Jacobs and Douglass have similar backgrounds. Both write of their experiences while enslaved, yet as
their narratives are compared a distinction can be made between the core values and purposes between
the two. Douglass s audience is towards anyone who will listen, and underscores the brutal violence,
and dehumanization of the American slave. Jacob s views are more emotional and directed towards
the upper class white woman whose sympathies she believes will align with her own as a mother and a
woman.
Douglas writes, You have seen how a man was made a slave; you shall see how a slave was made a
man (Douglass).

Detection System And Contribution Methodology For...
The new detection engine uses a setwise methodology for analysing snort rules. The detection engine
builds four rule groups: TCP, UDP, ICMP, and IP. When processing a packet, the new detection engine
first checks the protocol. If the protocol is TCP, UDP, or ICMP, the detection engine checks the ruleset
for that protocol; otherwise, it checks the IP ruleset. Each ruleset is comprised of a rule group based on
the longest content from every rule on each port. For ICMP packets, the rule group is based on the
ICMP type specified in each ICMP rule. For each packet that comes in, the detection engine calls
prmFindRuleGroup, which returns the appropriate rule group based on the packet submitted.

Then, based on the action, the configured numbers of alerts are generated. For example, if the
configured alert type order is pass, alert, log, and there are any pass rules, then the traffic is passed and
no alerts are logged. If there are no pass rules, then the first three events are logged ordered by the
longest content or priority. By default, the detection engine orders the rules to fire based on longest
content. Output module act upon the detection of attacks. Snort can output to log record, display etc. a

Most open source IDS are working as a result of multiple software and conditions. As example, Snort

services. It can be enumerate a SQL server for its database logging or a Syslog server for log output, a
Web Server for its GUI and multiple other library dependences. Usually the commercial IDS are able

The Schutz Marke Wall Clock
A treasured time piece in transition to family heirloom. The Schutz Marke Wall Clock is a unique
blend of art and furniture and is characteristic of the German craftsmanship of the 19th century and
stopped production after 1932. Ironically, Louise Pearson (my great grandmother) purchased this
clock in 1932. The picturesque style of this brand of clocks makes it a centerpiece in the home, as
many have them hanging in their home to this day. Regulator clocks, sometimes referred to as
pendulum clocks, were invented in the late 18th century in a quest for greater timekeeping accuracy (.
This is a culturally symbolic timepiece and its character is more enhanced as it is no longer crafted by
Schutz Marke. Many have the clocks hanging on their walls, even without that special meaning they
hold for some. My grandmother perceives this as both functional and symbolic of her relationship
with her mother and the meaning it held for her, and that is why she has one. The intricate details
along the sides and in the hands themselves is amazing. There are many types of clocks made and
manufactured but the Antique Schutz Marke German Vienna wall clock is a classic a strikingly
magnificent work of art. The importance of this artifact is that the details tell the craftmaker s story
from the time period it was created. Its craftsmanship is just one aspect of its significance, as this time
piece brings that connection from past, present, and future for a family. The particular clock

Boeing Mission Statement

previously mentioned, all Boeing aircrafts can be delivered to a location of choice and promotion is

company s business and brand strategies.
Still, customers will perceive quality based advantage as an advantage for Boeing s product over its
competitors because the Boeing Production System and the Boeing Quality Management System are
inextricably linked, as manufacturing and quality organizations work together to achieve total
customer satisfaction through a lean production system. All in all, research shows Boeing builds the
best products in the world, and its standards are second to none ( Boeing, 1995 2015).
Yet, Boeing has made certain that input from all significant stakeholders are factored into its products
lifecycle. Albeit challenging, Boeing must ensure that the systems and processed designated by the
company is integrated and used correctly by all employees. Therefore, it is always possible to make
changes and or modifications to a company s existing product lifecycle, but not necessary if it s not

Euphemisms are usually used to cover up the unpleasantness of situations; instead of saying something is terrible you can say it is not the best. However, euphemisms can also be used to elevate an occupation and make it sound more important and desirable. Certain occupations are frowned upon because they require little to no education. • 6. Analysis Of Anne Bradstreet To My Dear And Loving Husband The Depth of Love An Analysis of Anne Bradstreet s, To My Dear and Loving Husband. Anne Bradstreet s poem, To My Dear and Loving Husband, is a timeless love poem. The poet expressed her deep admiration and love of her husband through her gift of writing poetry. The poem is brief, yet powerful. Anne Bradstreet led a Puritanical life and much of her poetic works are based on her life as a wife and mother. Her love for her husband, as expressed in this poem, could have been considered a bit controversial at the time of its writing. Women were to remain quiet about such matters as romance and be submissive to their husbands. She wanted to live her eternal life, with her husband, as she lived on earth, as we read in the last line of the poem, That when we live no more, we may live ever (Line 12). The Puritan life commanded love of God first and above all, however Anne Bradstreet seemed to struggle with her earthly desires and her Puritan beliefs. The poem is written in Iambic pentameter. Bradstreet wrote the poem using a form of first person narrative. She also used the literary device of anaphora at the beginning of the first three lines of the poem using If ever (1 3) and in the last two lines with we live. (11 12) The tone is very romantic and emotional. The mood is somewhat reflective and happy. It expresses the feelings of a woman in love. Bradstreet also uses the literary device of rhyming couplets, with one notable use of the spelling persever (11), rather than persevere, to rhyme with ever (12). It is possible that Bradstreet used couplets to further indicate the strong bond between a married couple. Her marital bond with her husband is indicative of the Christian belief that when two individuals are married, they are joined together by God as one. In keeping with her faith and her love toward her husband, she states If ever two were one, then surely we, (1). She further exhorts her love for her husband as her description of their union embodies the very definition of what true, marital love should be as we read If ever man were loved by wife, then thee. (2). In Lines 3 and 4, Bradstreet challenges anyone to compare their marital relationship to hers. There appears to be no other ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Descriptive Essay On The Season Of Frost The Season of Frost Tiny slivers of ivory flakes were dancing about happily outside my window. The first snow of the Winter season speckled the green vegetation a screen of radiant white. It was December 23rd, 6;03 A.M. I live in Oregon, right by Crater lake. My family, one little brother, two parents, and two animals. We live in a log cabin, in the woods a ½ mile away from the frozen lagoon. It s beautiful during the Winter, or as my family calls it; the Season of Frost. The ice glazes across the opaque water. Rich, opulent snow enriches the effect, making it hard to look at the incandescent snow without blinding my round, hazel eyes. Carter(my 7 year old little brother) and I always play in the crisp snow together, building forts and gifting snowballs to my parents.Speaking of Carter... ¨Carmen! It s snowing!¨ Carter yelled, his piercing high bellow perpetrating under the crack at the bottom of my door, through my reindeer pillow I had used to cover my head, and finally, into my eardrum. I knew there was no getting out of this one, so I yawned loudly, wiped the faint whisper of sleep out of my eyes, and got out of my bed. I brushed my copper brown hair and put on LAYERS of warm clothes(all Christmas colors of course) and walked out my bedroom door. • 8. Queen Elizabeth I And Anne Boleyn I know I have the body of a weak and feeble woman, but I have the heart and stomach of a king, and of a king of England too. Queen Elizabeth I. Queen Elizabeth I was the daughter of king Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn. She would later become the 5th ruler in the Tudor dynasty. After her half sister Mary s rule she was hailed a hero and known for saving England through one of its toughest periods. Even more impressive she ruled alone with no king. Queen Elizabeth was one of the best rulers in European history, she overcame a lifetime of difficulty and was well liked among her people. On September 7th 1533 Queen Anne Boleyn and King Henry VIII welcomed their baby, the future Queen Elizabeth I into the world, the king and queen were very disappointed that Elizabeth was a girl. All the calibrations they had planned were almost immediately canceled. It was almost as of they were shamed to have birthed a girl. Due to her father King Henry VIII and her mother Queen Anne Boleyn s questionable marriage and the timing of her birth many questioned if she was actually King Henry VIII s daughter. Even if she really was however many consider her to be a child of adultery (Doran 8). The controversy of Elizabeth s legitimacy and Henry and Anne s marriages put a strain on the family. Henry believed that his marriage to Katharine was invalid from the beginning due to her previous marriage to Henry s elder brother Arthur. This convinced some of Elizabeth s legitimacy. • 9. Essay about A Solution to Foreclosure A Solution to Foreclosure The current issue of home foreclosure is based off of a long series of bad loans to people who were not able pay those debts off. Based on nightly news reports over the past year, it appears that the majority of these foreclosures are on very modest homes. My solution to this problem is to invest in those homes using green technology. President Obama has been a strong proponent of weatherizing homes. Simple additions such as a rubber strip under the front door and a sealant around windows can lower air conditioning and heating costs tremendously. These things are cheap and easy to buy, and can reduce homeowner s electric bills. In the state of Florida in 2006, only 1,315 households were reported to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... With government support, this could be changed. Using a government subsidy, many more people will be able to afford to install solar panels. This subsidy would be directed towards middle and lower income households who may be in danger of foreclosure. The energy generated by those solar panels that are not used by house can be sent back to the power grid. Instead of the homeowner receiving the benefits of that excess energy, the funds will go back to the government subsidy to pay for more solar panels, and so on. Solar panels and other green technology require someone to manufacture them. As a person invests in green technology, they also invest in creating more jobs. One of the leading causes of foreclosure is job loss. By investing in green technology, jobs can be created that require minimal training, which people at risk of foreclosure can be easily trained to perform. In the 1930 s, President Franklin Roosevelt created a large number of construction programs in order to boost the nation s economy. His goal had two parts: to improve the quality of the country and to create jobs. Identities are the sets of meanings people hold for themselves that define what it means to be who they are as persons, as role occupants and as group members (PJB article) People are generally influenced by the norms and beliefs of society. A person s identity is formed through a combination of factors derived from social structure (macrosociology) and social interaction (microsociology). PARAGRAPH 3 As Linton states, a person holds a status, and performs a role . Simply put, a status is a position and a role is a set of behaviours. With each status, follows a certain role for us to take part in. People tend to adapt to roles, moving through different roles in fluency as student, son, friend.Because people tend to have many different statuses and therefore, many different roles, conflict occasionally occurs among the various roles. The concept of role conflict is conflict among the roles connected to two or more statuses (ref). A good example of role conflict lies in the working mother; she must take on the responsibilities of mothering the children at home while taking on the responsibilities of working outside the home, away from the children, in order to earn an income (RR). This kind of conflict involves roles which arise from separate statuses, but the same sort of conflict can occur from the roles of a single status. Role strain, then, is tension among the roles connected to a single status . A teacher, for example, can be friendly with his or her students, but must remain objective in grading them. ... The number of miles traveled by cars has risen nearly 150 percent, yet the United States population has only grown roughly 40 percent during that time (hybridcars.com, Driving Trends). Carbon Monoxide Carbon monoxide is a colorless, odorless, poisonous gas that affects the flow of oxygen to one s brain and other parts of the body. This toxin can permanently alter the central nervous system throughout the body (hybridcars.com, Pollutants). Carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide are not the only pollutants that come from vehicles. Sulphur and Nitrogen Oxides Sulphur oxides and nitrogen oxides both have great effect on the lungs. Sulphur oxides cause respiratory illnesses, mostly in children, the elderly, and people who already have heart and lung diseases (hybridcars.com, Pollutants). This new found independency of Snow White is comparable to The Heroine s Journey when Murdock states The heroine crossed the threshold, leaves the safety of her parents home, and goes in search of herself. (90). Murdock explains that there will be challenges and adversity for the heroine to struggle through, from both the outside world but also battle within herself. The next in the road of trials comes when the stepmother and Snow White have their first encounter after the stepmother attempted to kill Snow White for the first time. The stepmother realizes the huntsman betrayed her when she receives the response of the mirror stating You, my queen, are fair; it is true. But Snow White, beyond the mountains With the seven dwarfs, Is still a thousand times fairer than you. (Paragraph 45). This both shocks and infuriates the stepmother because she still was not the most beautiful woman of them all. • 25. Essay on The Physics of Motorcycle Roadracing Despite what some people may think, motorcycle roadracing is not only a highly strenuous sport, but there is much more involved than just twisting the throttle and turning the handlebars. There are a number of powerful forces working on the bike and the rider. There is, of course, the downward pull of gravity, friction between the tires and the track, and centrifugal force which acts to the outside of the turn. The key to cornering at high speeds is to perfect the lean angle of the motorcycle so that the force of gravity reaches equilibrium with the centrifugal force attempting to stand the bike back up. If the bike is leaned to far, it falls over. If it is not leaned far enough, centrifugal force pulls it back up and the turn is not ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For example, the rider would push on the left handlebar (turning the bars to the right) in order to make a left turn. This may seem like a foreign concept at first, but it makes sense in the context of gyroscopic motion. Consider a bicycle wheel: The effects of gyroscopic precession can be felt when the wheel is held by the axle in the position shown, spun, and then turned sharply to the left or right. If the wheel is turned to the left, the top will twist to the right, pushing the bottom to the left. The same applies to a motorcycle when the wheels are spinning very quickly and the machine is turned. Turning the handlebars to the left would force the top of the wheel to move to the right, thus leaning the motorcycle in the opposite direction that the wheel was turned. The equation for this motion of the wheel is T=IWv where T is the torque, I is the moment of inertia, v is the wheel speed, and W is the angular velocity of the turn. This equation relies on the conservation of the wheel s angular momentum.(Sport Rider 2002) Steering Method #2: Body Steering The concept of body steering relies on the rider s shifts in weight and pressure application on various parts of the motorcycle to turn it. Theoretically, one could turn a bike without ever touching the handlebars simply by shifting body weight. For example, to turn the bike to the left, the rider could simply ... The jobs available to the public, the cultures people embody/emulate, the relationships individuals engage in, are all continuously altered by the profound forces of the globalizing process. Capital, people, images, commodities and ideology transcend national borders, and information races around the globe at accelerating speeds (Inda 4). The theme of globalization has emerged generating considerable amounts of controversy in its wake, concerning economics, politics, and culture. These flows and disjunctures of globalization serve to construct particular cultural realities around the world, articulating the importance of the global and the local. These days the world is another place it is not our own. Globalization is an insight into the present now, yet our now has been constructed and fashioned to fit the mold of an ever changing, globalizing process. To understand the phenomenon of globalization, we must understand the relations between the past and the present. By understanding the relation between the past and the present we can comprehend the importance of where we have been and how we have come to be. The past is and should be perceived as a resource there is so much we can learn. The past, present, and the future are all available for humans to use as resources for our imagination. • 28. Understanding The Utility Of A Commodity A commodity, according to Marx, is an external object that satisfies human wants as a use value while functioning as an exchange value that enters into exchange with other commodities (303 304). On one hand, the particular properties of an object, made possible by the particular kind of human labour embodied in it, define the utility of a commodity and hence its use value, which cannot be measured quantitatively due to the incommensurability across the diverse categories of utility. On the other hand, the exchange value, determined by the socially necessary labour time required for producing the commodity (306), establishes quantitative equivalences among the otherwise incommensurable use values, acting as the only media through which the value of a commodity, independent of its use value, manifests itself in exchange (305). It follows that to qualify as a commodity in Marx s definition, an object has to contain human labour in it, must possess some utility, and finally needs to be able to serve as a use value to others in order for its value to assert itself in exchange (307 308). Marx contends that while it is trivial to understand a commodity as the end product of the purposeful alterations of natural material to satisfy a particular want, a commodity becomes mystical once it enters into exchange to realize its value in the form of the objectification of human labour (319 320). The peculiarity of such objectification can be understood in two ways. Firstly, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Pros And Cons Of Wild Horse Roundups Imagine you are on a mountain and you turn around a notice a herd of wild horses grazing happily, then all of a sudden you hear a low buzz in the distance. You see the horses forced into holding pens and being separated from their bands wondering why this is happening. Now try to imagine a word without the wild horses. Many people consider wild horses to be a symbol of the west, and consider these wild horse roundups to be unnecessary and cruel, while other people believe that wild horse roundups are necessary to keep the condition of their natural landscape at its best quality. People argue that there are pros and cons to wild horse roundups. Some pros that people state are that reduces the population of wild horses, and that it improves the condition of the land that the wild horses graze on, while other people argue that roundups kill many horses, horses are forced to separate from their herds or bands as they are sometimes referred to as, and these roundups take horses out of their natural habitats, and put into government holding facilities where there are more wild horses being held captive than there are left in the wild. Some with the aid of ghost writers, and often under pseudonyms to protect their safety. These slave narratives spoke of the sufferings of the slave experience in America (Campbell 1). Because black men and black woman experienced slavery differently, they wrote about them differently. Both write of their experiences while enslaved, yet as their narratives are compared a distinction can be made between the core values and purposes between the two. Douglass s audience is towards anyone who will listen, and underscores the brutal violence, and dehumanization of the American slave.
