Community Service Essay
Writing an essay on the topic of community service can be a challenging yet rewarding endeavor.
The difficulty lies not only in the need to articulate one's thoughts coherently but also in the
depth of reflection required to convey a genuine commitment to community service. It demands
introspection to elucidate personal experiences, motivations, and the impact of service on both
the individual and the community.
Crafting a compelling narrative involves striking a balance between humility and pride,
showcasing the meaningful contributions made while avoiding the trap of self-aggrandizement.
The challenge is to weave a story that captures the essence of the service undertaken, the lessons
learned, and the growth experienced. Furthermore, it requires an understanding of the broader
context, acknowledging the societal issues addressed and the potential for lasting change.
Navigating through the essay requires a delicate touch when discussing challenges faced during
community service. It's vital to portray these obstacles as opportunities for personal and
community growth, demonstrating resilience and a commitment to overcoming adversity. The
essay should not only resonate with the reader but also inspire a sense of empathy and a call to
action.
Additionally, incorporating research and statistics to support claims and underscore the
significance of community service adds another layer of complexity. Balancing personal
anecdotes with broader insights requires finesse to maintain a cohesive and well-structured essay.
In conclusion, writing a compelling essay on community service is no easy task. It necessitates
self-reflection, storytelling skills, and a deep understanding of the societal issues at hand.
However, the challenge is well worth it, as such essays provide a platform to showcase one's
dedication to making a positive impact on the community.

meanings; translating from one language to another, and translating others work into
one s words. Like the famous quote Translation is the art of failure by Umberto Eco,
there were countless controversies over the translation of written works over
centuries, from personal writings to literature. Understandably, there are no
exceptions for the case of bibletranslation. The history of bible translation began in
the 5th century BCE in Palestine, from Hebrew to Aramaic. There are many factors
that affect the content and structure of the bible when it is translated. One factor is
emotional attachment to already familiar version. Since the group of people revising
the bible are Christians themselves, they must have studied an already existing
version for their whole life. This is impossible to ignore and it appears intactly on
their work, like King James Version (KJV) and Revised Korean Version (RKV).
Another factor is the difference in languages. This is important because the structure
of language is different from culture to culture and the meaning it connotes is... Show

something you could possibly never have the chance to try again is worth the risk
rather than playing it safe and wishing you could have done it. One of my earliest
memories was when I was still living in Robbinsdale. My dad was, and still is, the
type of guy that will let his kids take risks if he knows a lesson could be learned
from the outcome. That is exactly what he did in this situation. I thought is was a
good idea to try and climb up a slide at a busy playground, consequently, there...

Normally I would have never tried this at all, not even thought about it, but
something that day pulled me to try it so I did. Going back and thinking about it
now it was a really bad idea because I could barely water ski in general! The pain
was immense, the amount of stinging I was feeling was like nothing I had ever
experienced. I was up and doing pretty well for about 40 feet. Then my toe caught
the water and I went face first into the wake of the boat. As I swam up to the
surface of the water i started laughing uncontrollably, I was laughing so hard I
thought I was going to inhale water. When I reached to surface my lungs were
burning, it felt like I had gone without air for hours. The boat circled back around
and a lot of my friends were doing the same thing I was doing. Through the
laughing and the that was awesome dude I became addicted to trying new things
and taking risks. I began to try more and more, than, an opportunity came up to do

Through the acquisitions, TMH is not only benefiting from the deepening market
penetration in its existing markets, but also from entering into the new markets.
Moreover, the acquisition of manufacturing facilities, albeit it is in the retailing
business, prepares TMH for the periods when demand for homes outpaces supply,
which would mostly occur between March and October. In order to maintain its
role as a leader in the industry and to create its competitive advantage, the
manufacturing facilities are also planned to be used for manufacturing custom
designed homes that will help satisfy customers with special needs. In addition,
TMH pays more than industry average to attract and maintain its employees, which
helps the Company to stay in a leadership role. TMH has also established its wholly
owned subsidiary TMH Financial Services Corp. to expedite completion of credit
approval processes for other subsidiaries and independent retailers. In addition, TMH
Financial will collect installment sales contracts executed at the subsidiary or
independent retailer level and sell them to third party financial institutions with
recourse. This process of selling installment sales to outside parties is one of TMH s
major sources of income. Accounting Analysis In addition to understanding a

Acceptance In Ask The Dust By Sixto Rodriguez
Acceptance, is a feeling desired by many people. Some may find it, some may live
their life pursuing it, it is a curse some may say some may find it a gift. A fictional
character by the name of Arturo Bandini, in the novel Ask the Dust, was a victim of
this curse. He strives for the acceptance in another dominant culture for personal
recognition and end up losing what he had at the beginning of his sorrowful journey.
On the other hand, Sixto Rodriguez, well known as Sugar man, desired acceptance
from his inner self. He made his music to unveil the cruel reality of Detroit,
Michigan, and did not care about the popularity, as well as fame. His incentives were

recognized as a human being. The recognition, that he fills a meaningful space in
the society as a man because with recognition comes power, the power every other
Anglo American possessed in the United States from that period. Bandini did not
realize that no matter how good of a writer he becomes, his under looked race and
superior ideology of Anglo America would not consider him as a respectable
writer. Bandini s hunger for power and insecurities lead him losing the most
meaningful thing in his life, Camila. Bandini should have understood that he
cannot find love in materialistic thing, but in Camila or Vera. Some could say it
was his immaturity, I believe it was pride. However, realizing in the end of the
novel, that trying to gain acceptance into the society was a worthless battle that
only lead to pain. Bandini lost identity, which he sold to Miss Hargraves, and lead
to a domino effect a sorrowful. However, Rodriguez lived a very interesting life, and
taught me a very valuable lesson. Searching for Sugar Man

Straight teeth are associated with everything from a better social life, better
employment opportunities, and a higher self esteem. Even so, there is typically
hesitation from most adults who do not want the time and financial expense
necessary to invest in braces, especially when their first thought turns to traditional
metal braces. New technology, though, like Invisalign, has helped to make straight
teeth a possibility for individuals who want discreet and effective treatment options.

Challenges of Invisalign
For the treatment to be successful, patients need to commit to wearing the aligning
trays for the pre set number of hours each day. Without wearing the trays, patients
won t have see the anticipated in the expected time period.
The trays need to be removed for eating, drinking, and some sports, while traditional
braces are affixed to the teeth and not removed until the end of treatment.
Every two weeks, patients will have a new series of trays. Visits to the provider won
t happen that frequently, but they will need to be regularly checked to make sure the
teeth are moving into the proper places.
There are a few cases in which Invisalign is not the best method to treat or correct a
dental condition.
Often, Invisalign has a higher cost involved than traditional braces, however, there
can be, and are, many exceptions.
Invisalign is regularly updating and improving the technology, and dentists and
orthodontists who are not regularly staying informed on the improvements may have
a more challenging time achieving the desired results.

Essay on The Second Sex by Simone de Beauvoir
Simone de Beauvoir, in her 1949 text The Second Sex, examines the problems
faced by women in Western society. She argues that women are subjugated,
oppressed, and made to be inferior to males simply by virtue of the fact that they
are women. She notes that men define their own world, and women are merely
meant to live in it. She sees women as unable to change the world like men can,
unable to live their lives freely as men can, and, tragically, mostly unaware of their
own oppression. In The Second Sex, de Beauvoir describes the subjugation of woman,
defines a method for her liberation, and recommends strategies for this liberation that
still have not been implemented today.
De Beauvoir, in attempting to define the subjugation ... Show more content on

She comments on the oppression experienced by woman through three distinct
lenses: that of biological differences, that of the psychoanalytical perspective, and
finally through the lens of historical materialism.
Biologically speaking, De Beauvoir notes that the sexes are defined in opposition
to each other; for example, man is not woman and woman is not man. Their
differences are, however, unidentifiable at the most basic of cellular levels.
Therefore, the main differentiation of the two genders is demonstrated through
sexuality. De Beauvoir goes on to argue that woman s passive role in procreation
reflects her passive role in society, and that society trains women to become
subjugated from the very day of their birth. Further, despite the two sexes
cooperative role in creating new members of the species, men are regarded as those
who provide the stimuli needed for evoking new life (13) and women who simply
enable the new life to become lodged in a stable organism. (13) This reinforces
stereotypical notions of the virile male and the passive female, notions that are
reflected in society as woman takes a
The Success Is The Accomplishment Of One s Goals
One of the meanings of the word success is the accomplishment of one s goals.
Throughout our lives we make a lot of goals because we want to be happy with
ourselves. The majority of the time we make a goal it s because we are motivated.
We get ready to do anything it takes to accomplish our goals because we believe we
can. But people set aside their goals for numerous reasons. I myself have set aside
goals of my own numerous of times. The one goalthat seems to bother me often is
working out on a consistent basis because I feel that I am very unsuccessful in this
category. Working out is very important to me because It s something I wantto do for
the rest of my life. Not only does working out make me feel happy and productive, I
care a lot about what my body looks like. After reading Chapters One through Nine
in Jeff Olson s The Slight Edge: Turning Simple Disciplines into Massive Success
Happiness, I have come to the realization of why people who are capable of success,
never see it. He explains that there are small things we can do daily that will lead
us to a life of success. In Chapter One The Beach Bum and The Millionaire Olson
calls these things, simple daily disciplines (10). For these past three weeks I have
been religiously practicing Olson s guidelines and my progress has been unsteady.
My first problem that I have encountered while trying to accomplish my goal is, after
about a week of my workouts I started losing motivation to continue every day. I felt
The Importance Of Extracurricular Activities And

Try to remember your first day at school. Generally, teachers cannot even remember
the name of any one of their students. Now, how exactly are they supposed to
remember all of their 120 students personal lives? Contrary to that belief, most
students believe that teachers should account for their extracurricular activities and
personal lives. But, not only is that not possible, it is not plausible. Obviously, for
students, keeping up with their work and personal lives is a hard task to manage, but
developing their time management skills is something each student will need to learn
to do as they continue their studies in college. Teachers should not have to plan their
curriculum around student responsibilities due to the numerous types of jobs and
extracurricular activities students take part in. According to Dunbar s Number, we as
people can only remember at most 150 names, of course, that number is the
maximum. On average, according to 21 percent of the faculty members of West
Warwick Public Schools, the average numbers of students per class would be 120 to
125 students per year. Therefore, it makes sense teachers would struggle at
remembering even 125 names, let alone their complex personal lives. Teachers, along
with their students names, would have to remember their students personal lives and
then go on to create a curriculum based around those numerous activities. Obviously,
most teachers would find that unreasonable. Therefore, it is more than clear teachers
Reflection On Science Lesson
On November 1, 2017, I taught my second science lesson at Maverick Elementary
School. It took place during my Kindergarten class usually scheduled science lesson.
This week my class was going over the 5 senses, so my lesson fit perfectly into their
curriculum. My lesson was about using the 5 senses to predict what an unknown
objectwas in a closed bag. I chose to do this lesson because my students were
learning how to use senses as a tool of observation to identify properties and patterns
of organisms, objects, and events in environment (TEK K.4B). My objective was for
the students to use their senses to identify an object and describe the different
properties of objects accurately.
Strengths and Weaknesses of Lesson I think one of the strengths of my lesson was
the actual lesson itself. My students really loved the hands on activity because they
were engaged and eager to discover what was in the bag. They were talking to their
classmates at a good volume, and there were no students getting out of their seats or
being disruptive. I was actually quite surprised by this outcome because I usually
have to correct student behavior. However, this lesson caught all of the students
attention and made them want to be good to participate. I believe that this lesson
really highlighted what science and learning is all about, which is discovering new
things and continuously wanting to know more. This lesson was a great lesson
because it made the students interested in science and their own education. I think one
of the weaknesses of my lesson was my delivery of the instructions. In the
beginning, as I was trying to explain how to conduct the activity, I was stumbling
over my words a lot. I think this is so because I was trying to find the right words
to say for Kindergarteners. For example, when I was telling my students that they
had to circle the descriptive words on the worksheet, they looked at me with blank
faces and did not know what I was saying. I think it is because I was using too big
of words, so it was pretty hard for me to try to use smaller words. In the end,
however, my students found out how to do the worksheet, when I showed them over
the Elmo. Overall, I think my lesson went pretty well,
Granite Rhyolite Acid
My question is, which mineral will make the water most acidic? My hypothesis is,
if I use Granite, Obsidian, and Rhyolite to make the water acidic, then I believe
rhyolite will make the water most acidic. In this project I filled three cups with a
half cup of water, then I tested the pH of water. After that I put the rocks in
different cups, and I waited for ten minutes. Then I tested the pH. pH stands for
potential Hydrogen. According to the pH scale the most acidic is one and the most
basic is fourteen. The pH scale ranges from the numbers one to fourteen. Where one
through six are acidic, seven is neutral and eight through fourteen are basic. My
materials are, three cups, water, Granite, Obsidian, and Rhyolite, pH strips, a camera,
and a logbook. My hypothesis was correct, Rhyolite made the water the most acidic.

Acid igneous rocks contain silica contents above sixty three weight percent. Acid
igneous rocks include the coarse grained granitic rocks, comprising alkali granite,
monzogranite, and syenogranite and fine grained rocks such as alkali rhyolite,
rhyolite and rhyodacite. The majority of acid igneous rocks are found in the
continental crust and, together with intermediate rocks, construct large composite
intrusions. According to www.imperialcollege.com, most acid magmas are thought to
be generated by partial melting of crustal rocks, however, smaller volumes can be
generated by extreme crystal fractionation of basic magmas and are found in a wide
range of tectonic settings.
An obsidian rock is an igneous rock as well. It forms when molten rock material
cools very quickly that atoms are unable to arrange themselves into a crystalline
structure. On the Mohs scale, the hardness of an obsidian rock ranges from five to
six. An obsidian rock is a basic rock. Basic rocks have around 50% or less silica and a
lot of magnesium and iron. Further classification depends on other chemical
The Importance Of Comics As A Learning Devices
The idea that comics can be used as a learning device is strange to some, but comics
can teach kids many important lessons such as reading comprehension, how to act
social, and how to engage as a reader or writer. As (Josh Elder,) founder of reading
with pictures put it there are three Es when teaching though comicsengagement
efficiency and effectiveness. These concepts will help us understand why comics are
educational, beneficial and can optimize learning in school and university.
Comics broaden our educational understanding especially in adolescence as they are
the most asked to read literature. Comics in adolescence have been seen as a
distraction more of a learning device. As the article For Improving Early Literacy,
Reading Comics No Child s Play. Points out most teacher see comics as the
students aren t paying attention to the message or the words in the literature, but if
that were so couldn t the same be said for picture books. You have to actively read
the words to get a good idea of what s going on in the comics (Scott Mcloud book)
Making Comics show that even the pictures in a comic must be actively interpreted
by the reader.
Which brings me to my next point in which comics makes young reader more
actively aware of what their reading and the symbolism or the main theme in it. (A
study conducted in, University of Southern Carolina, allowed young boys to engage
in comic reading or traditional reading. Students score did not go down in reading
comics rather

Swift Essay
Swift was a neoclassical writer who wrote to enlighten people. He wanted people to
look at the world that exits beyond them selves and discover virtue. Through his
work Gulliver s Travels Jonathan Swift demonstrates to the reader the importance of
virtue. I this story the main character am Gulliver; a world traveler who takes a
journey to different lands. Each place that Gulliverlands has different ideals that are
the foundation of their society. Their views on life are completely new to Gulliver.

Therefore, they lack virtue and will no be enlightened. Swift believes it will improve
our state of living to strive to be virtuous.
Beowulf, Gulliver s Travels, and Canterbury Tales were wrote works of literature
written to encourage their readers to evaluate their values. Each writer exposes the
necessity of morals to the building of a fully developed human being. The work
expresses pagan s virtues within their society. Beowulf vowed an oath to Lord
Hrothgar to slay the monster that has taken over and killed his people. His virtue is
demonstrated by obedience to his oath. This enables the reader to learn and
understand the values of the people in the Anglo Saxon era. The Christian traditions
and the practice of Germanic Heroic poetry allows the literature fuse together in to a
one piece of work that distinctly creates Pagan and Christian interpretations of the
way things once were. Beowulf always portrayed virtues that were extremely
contradictory in that he claimed to be Christian but displayed the qualities of a
Pagan. Chaucer presents his
Reader Response to James Joyce s The Dead Essays
Reader Response to Joyce s The Dead
James Joyce s story The Dead has a tremendous impact on the
readers, especially those who are familiar with the political situation in
Ireland at the time about which the Joyce wrote the final story in
Dubliners. In exploring the meaning of James Joyce s long short story,
The Dead , there are many critical approaches to take. Each approach
gives readers a lens, a set of guidelines through which to examine and
express ideas of the meaning of The Dead. Joyce himself said that the
idea of paralysis was the intended theme of all the stories in The Dubliners
of which The Dead is the final story.

The images reflect Gabriels ego in a sense, at the same for his

Joyce s intended theme of paralysis is exemplified in the
symbolization of snow. In the story, snow has a major role as it
symbolizes the political situation at the same time where everything was
cold and dead due to the political uncertainty at the time. Snow also
plays a major role as it interprets the reader to be on the alert, as
things at the end are not going to be as smooth as Gabriel had predicted.

It s enjoyable most of the time when the parent teaches a child how to do different
activities and gets to see the child doing the activity with fluency. But one of the
activities that many parents don t find pleasure is when it s time to train the child how
to manage the poop and the pee also referred to as potty/toilet training.
Any child that has the ability to walk properly and talk generally develops the need to

When parents engage in toilet training of their children they are going to be faced

Rise Of Nelson Mandela
In the 1950s, America was going through a period of time with very high racial
tension. Black Americans were forced into separate bathrooms, schools, and public
facilities that were nowhere equal to that of the white majority. At the same time,
South Africa saw very similar policies; however, in this case, the white minority
oppressed blacks by enforcing oppressive Apartheid laws that placed blacks in run
down homelands, forcing them to carry passes in order to travel through South Africa.
Despite the black population doubling the white population, whites continued to hold
control as a result of their political control and abundance of wealth. Though being
put into a position of disadvantage, there were various black activists, including
Nelson Mandela, seeking reform and racial equality for blacks. Nelson Mandela,
through his extensive political activism, courageous leadership, and constant pursual
of equality greatly impacted the falling of Apartheid in South Africa.
To begin, Nelson Mandela s strong influence on dismantling Apartheid is seen
through his strong political activism. In 1943, not only was Mandela a bright and
young law student, but he also became the co founder of ANCYL, the youth division
of the ANC. He, along many other young activists, advocated for an opposition
campaign against the racially divisive Apartheid laws (Engler). Nelson Mandela was
a strong force and fought for racial equality. In South Africa at the time, a minority
population of whites had
The Theme Of God In Design, By Robert Frost
The subject of Robert Frost s Design is simply about life and death, but the theme
here is touching upon the question of God s role in the design of nature and the
world around us. The poem is more on the dark side from the way he describes the
main characters the white spider, the heal all flower, and the moth and the way he
starts to questionwhy everything went the way it did. Was it just a random
occurrence or does God actually make terrible things, like the spider killing the moth
on a flower, happen? To begin with, the speaker starts off the poem by introducing
the main characters. There is a spider, described as whiteand fat, then there is the
heal all which is basically a flower that is used for medicinal purposes. And last but
not least, the moth, who which flutters his way into his death. The big white spider
is perched up on the white flower, holding the moth as if they purposely all
gathered together for a witches brew. With this observation, the speaker constructs
a series of questions: why is the flower, that is usually blue, now white? Why did
the spider decide on that specific flower instead of any other one? And why did the
moth happen to fly by at that certain moment? In the last line, Frost asks the question
of if this how God designed the world to be. The speaker is Robert Frost himself,
just a bystander in the distance that so happens to stumble upon this scene and
observes it enough to write about it. The poem reveals what he now thinks
Observable Differences In Nursing
The observable difference was the intensity of the experiences revealed by the

earth; instead, yang is associated with light and the sun. On the beginning there was
a cosmic egg and Pangu was inside in the midst of Yin and Yang. For eighteen years
Pan Gu grew up until he broke the egg. Pan Gu separated the Heaven (bright) and the
Earth (Dark). When Pan Gu died, his breath became the wind and the clouds, his
eyes became the sun and the moon, his skin became the flowers and trees and his
sweat the rain. Then, the Goddess Nu Gua felt something was missing on Earth and

On 7 days God created everything. In Day 1, God created light and called the light
day and called the darkness night. In day 2, God created heaven. In day 3, God
separated the water and called the dry land earth and the waters sea. In day 4, God
created the sun, moon and stars. In day 5, God created the creatures of the sky and
the sea. In day 6, God created humans and land creatures. In day 7, God rested.
Pan Gu is very similar to the representation of God in the Hebrew creation Myth.
Both were the first living being in the universe, and also as God did, Pan Gu also
separated heaven and Earth. Both myths explain orderly the beginning of everything.
However, in the Chinese story the creation begins from the chaos with a cosmic egg,
while in the Hebrew story the creation begins from nothing. God was the only thing
that existed.
In the Chinese story when Pan Gu died, it was when the creation of everything
began. But in Hebrew story and from nothing God wanted to begin the creation,
which he did in 7 days. In Hebrew story existed only one Creator, but in Chinese
story there was more than one. Nu Gua created people out of the mud in the Chinese
story. She completed her job of populating the earth and teach the humans how to
procreate. In the Hebrew story God created a man in his own image Adam, and then,
from an Adam s rib God created a woman,
The Relationship Between Mass Media And The Media
Introduction The media and I have a history of disagreeing. I have referred to them
with many derogatory names, of which they deserve, and continue to see their faults
in 2017 (Truman, 1951). I am particularly interested in how Breitbart and CNN use
their influence on the public to further the partisan divide. Politics seem based more
on who the public does not like, rather than who they are in favor of. Profound
changes in the relationship between news media and policy makers have emerged as
byproducts of new, faster communications technology. These changes present some
advantages like fast and widespread coverage nationally and globally, interactive
feedback between journalists and audiences, and convenience. The disadvantages are
detrimental, however. The sheer volume of information available to the public poses
a threat due to the fact that oftentimes citizens know more than their government
officials, and information is leaked and hacked more easily. This is another way that
the media can influence the public: accidentally leaking information that may or may
not be completely false. Many news organizations feign impartiality, and act as
though they would never intentionally spread deceptive information, but I know this
to be a falsehood (Truman, 1961, 115). Mass media has motivations from their CEOs
and sponsors, but also from corrupt politicians who buy out journalists and entire
franchises to ensure that they aren t attacked by that particular organization

Harlie UnderhillDecember 4, 2017Spanish 1B HudsonLas MeninasThe Las Meninas
is a piece of artwork made by Diego VelГЎzquez in 1656 in the Cuarta del Principe
in AlmcГЎzar in Madrid. It is one of the most famous paintings in the Spanish history.
Velazquez was trying to bring this paintingcloser to Spanish History. The artwork is
a painting of the infanata and her attendants. She has two maids around her, and
JosГ© Nieto in the doorway. Behind the infanata there is a canvas, on the canvas is
a picture of Mari BГЎrbola and Nicolasito Pertusato. The infanatas parents, Philip IV
and Mariana de Ulloa, reflections are in the mirror. The artist also includes himself in
the painting, painting a huge canvas. When VelГЎzquez was painting the portrait, he
was trying to paint like the technique called Baroque. This technique is the style used
to exaggerate motion in order to produce drama and tension in paintings, sculptures,
literature, dance and music. He was trying to make a complex and credible
composition that would convey a sense of life and reality. Velazquez limits between
reality and painting.. The composition combines unity and variety. This painting has
a specific location, and identified figures, and its a group portrait.
Pablo Picasso made many interpretations of this painting. He has made a series of
58 paintings. He wasn t trying to create a copy or variation of Velazquez s work,
but to create his own unique painting. He made these paintings in memory of
Jaume SabartГ©s. He wanted to show all the different feelings and ideas inside her
mind. He changed the face structure of the infanata because he was trying to show
the difficulty it was for her to balance her feelings, emotions, and ideas. The two
paintings by the two different artists are very similar to each other, just as they are
different. One of the main similarities are the princess, both of the paintings include
the princess even though they look very different. They both also show how the
princess is focused on the light. In velazquez painting she is looking at the light,
while in Picasso s painting it shows the brighter colors to show the light. Both of the
paintings have many different reasoning to why they made this
Community Analysis
Community is like an extended family. We support each other in so many ways,
whether it s volunteering at a fundraiser, offering advice or even just a smile and
kind words. I live in a small town which means a lot of things, but most importantly
that I grew up with a strong sense of community. I ll be graduating with a class of
about eighty of my peers this year and I ve gone to school with about half of these
students since Kindergarten. This gave me the opportunity to grow strong bonds with
those around me. These experiences will help me to enrich the sense of community
that UW has worked so hard to create. Helping each other learn and grow has and
always will be important to me.

Getting good grades has always been important to me, no matter what. During the
first two years of high school I struggled with my science classes. Although I was
putting in the time and effort, some of the concepts were difficult for me to
understand and apply. Despite this setback, I have stayed on the honor roll since 6th
grade. However, just being on the honor roll wasn t my end goal. I was determined
to go above and beyond and not settle for anything other than my very best. For me it
s not just about finishing something, but doing it to the best of my abilities.
As a freshman I joined Future Farmers of America. I have enjoyed the opportunities
it has afforded me. Some of these include National Convention, judging contests,
community events, and being an officer. It has been so rewarding to give back to
my community and to meet people from all around the nation who share similar
values. Being in FFA has shown me that when each person contributes it leads to
something greater. It has also helped me to find my voice and speak up for what I

Charlotte Hornets Role In Popular Culture
I chose to research and write about the Charlotte Hornets role, in selling licensed and

bring the original team name back to Charlotte: globally with how it has started a
culture for retro gear. The Charlotte Hornets team left Charlotte in 2002 brought by
Tom Benson of New Olean s, but the team s merchandise continued to sell over the
years. Football Star s like Cam Newton have been spotted Courtside wearing the retro
product with Original Hornets signature. Not to mention, the greatest basketball
player in the world (LeBron James) who plays for another defending rival, hosted a
shoe launch with the Hornet s team colors; this confirms that the Hornet s
merchandise has some brand appeal. The Charlotte Hornets Merchandise has had
such an impact locally, that it created a campaign; BRING BACK THE BUZZ. This
campaign incited the attention of the now former Bobcat s owners Michael Jordan

To What Extent Is John Proctor A Tragic Hero In The
Crucible
A tragic hero is a good character in a dramatic tragedy that is bound to have a
downfall. In The Crucible, John Proctor is the tragic hero. Proctor is tragic hero
because he is honest, his downfall was that he committed adultery, and he made
sacrifices. These are the main reasons why he is a tragic hero. His honesty was his
most heroic quality.
One reason John Proctor is a tragic hero was because of his honesty. He was
nonchalant about everything, but his name. You are high, your word is good
enough! Tell them I confused myself; say proctor broke his knee and wept like a
woman; say what you will, but my name cannot (pg 993). This quote is saying that
the judge can say whatever he wants, but he is not going to confess to that lie;
Lexical Cohesion
The concept of cohesion accounts for the essential semantic relations whereby any
speech or writing is enabled to function as text. Cohesion is classified into different
categories: lexical cohesion and reference, substitution, ellipsis, conjunction or what
is called grammatical cohesion. These categories do not only have a theoretical
basis as distinct type of cohesive relations but also provide a practical mean for
describing and analyzing texts. Each of these categories is represented in the text by
practical features. Undoubtedly there are other types of semantic relation within a
text which are not represented in the concept of cohesion. However, cohesion is the
most important type of semantic relation because it is common to every kind of text
and it is what makes a text text. (Halliday Hassan,1976,p.13)... Show more content on

In spite of the various studies of lexical cohesion, most researchers agree that there
are fundamental features of lexical cohesion. There was an agreement among many
of the researchers that lexical cohesion is divided into two different types of
relations. Halliday and Hassan (1976) call these reiteration and collocation. In some
other versions of studies the term repetition is used instead of reiteration. Regardless
of the term, this relation involves repetition of lexical items identically or in a
modified form (synonyms, antonyms, generalization, and specification). Items
related by reiteration may be also referentially related but this is not obligatory. The
relation of collocation, on the other hand, is an associative meaning relationship
between words that tend to co occur with each other regularly.
Case Analysis on Walt Disney
The history, development and growth of Walt Disney Company over time The
Walt Disney Company has matured from the children s cartoon dream factory of
brothers Roy and Walt Disney into the world s second largest media conglomerate,
behind Time Warner (Hoover s).In the year 2005, Robert Iger replaced Micheal

had a very centralized management style and expected his managers to develop a
five year and ten year plans for their divisions to predict their future growth. Eisner

The profitability began to fall in 2000s for many reasons. Firstly the animation
movie business could not create any blockbuster movies after The Lion King and
Pocahontas which would drive up revenues. So to earn more revenues, Disney
released Pirates of the Caribbean in 2003, which was a big hit followed by its
sequels which were successful too. However other flops had offset the studio
entertainments unit s profits. Secondly there was a shift to produce animated
movies using computer based digital technology in 1990s. Before this technology
was introduced Disney distributed Pixar s films such as Toy Story, Toy Story 2,
Monsters, Inc., Finding Nemo and The Incredibles. The revenues from these
movies became the single biggest income source of profits of studio entertainment.
However, Steve Jobs Pixar s CEO, was reluctant to renew contract with Disney
which was due to expire in 2005. This was firstly due to unhealthy relationship
between him and Eisner and secondly Disney laid off animators which had created
the past success which new computer based technology was introduced. If the
contract was not renewed Disney would fall in huge trouble, because more than 40%
or a billion of operating income of its movie studios came from Pixar s success.

Comparing The Story Of An Hour And The Cask Of
Amontillado...
Death and Murder by Dictation
A life lived under someone else s expectations is no life at all. Many people live
their lives allowing others to tell them what to do. They allow others to put them
down, and to make them feel less of a person. There have been stories about man
versus man, man versus nature and most importantly man versus self. In The story of
an Hour by Kate Chopin and The Cask of Amontillado by Edgar Allen Poe we see
how each writer uses setting, characterization, and dramatic irony to show how
allowing others to dictate ones life can lead to disastrous ends.
The story settings of Chopin and Poe help to show how repression alters the mind.
In Chopin s, The Story of an Hour, setting is used to show how Mrs. Mallard s
repressed state of mind begins to flower and grow after she learns of her husband s
death. It is not upon first reading, but second reading, that most start to interpret the
settings around Mrs. Mallard while she sits in her bedroom. Chopin writes, She
could see [......] tops of trees that were all aquiver with the new spring life. It is, as
she sits at the window, that she becomes aware that she is free of her husband.
Spring is the season of new growth and awakening of animal life. Chopin also
writes about how patches of blue sky appear out of the clouds that had met and
piled one above the other. These two descriptions help the reader see what is,
perhaps, going on in her mind. The setting in which Chopin put Ms. Mallard in helps

Rhetorical Analysis Of Do The Right Thing Saxe
Rhetorical Analysis: Do the Right Thing
In Do the Right Thing, author Rebecca Saxe examines what scientist claim to know
about morality and investigates the possibility that a basic, fundamental part moral
thinking is shared by all humans across a variety of cultures, beliefs, and principles.
This morality is quite diverse, just as the people in this world, but Saxe uses ethos,
pathos and logos to lead audiences to discover that even though our different
cultures, beliefs and principles can define what we believe to be right and wrong,
humans contain a moral instinct , that is shared by all peoples, even those unable to
identify morals.
Saxe does not simply start by throwing near meaningless psychological and
neurocognitive jargon at the audience. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Saxe identifies this group as preverbal babies. By studying the behaviors of these
infants, psychologists are able determine that basic instinct that humans share. These
babies, aged between four and twelve months, are much too young to be influenced
by the institution around them. The infants are also too young to communicate their
thought processes, so psychologists analyze the only responses these infants can
communicate, looking and crawling. In the experiment involving these preverbal
infants, babies were shown videos of one man being nice to a girl while another was
mean to the girl. The infants tended to look more at the mean man and crawl to the
nice man. A similar video was shown illustrating a helpful and hurtful shapes. After
the square hurt the circle, the circle then chose to be with the square instead of the
helpful triangle. There is an assumption made by Saxe and psychologists in this data
that the infants are looking at the mean man and shape to understand why they acted
the way they did, that the hurtful actions confused these children and so they were
intrigued by the actions, perhaps because it is not how the infants would have acted.
The results conclude that by the age of one, children can identify helpful and hurtful
actions. But these are merely

Theme Of The Awakening
Analayzing the novel The awakening , the protagonist can be seen in different
stages of her life: as a wife, as an artist, as a mother and as a woman. From the
beginning, the author gives a fair description of Edna: She was an American woman,
with a smal infusion of French which seemed to have been lost in dilution. (Chopin,
The awakening, pg. 9).
As a wife she seems not take care of the households as her husband expect to. He
also believes that she does not take good care of their children. Even though he
doesn t say her, he gives hints about what troubles him. Mr. Pontellier returned to his
wife with the information that Raoul had a high fever and needed looking after.(...)
He reproached his wife with her inattention, her habitual neglect of the children. If it
was not a mother s place to look after children, whose earth was it? (Chopin, The
awakening, pg.10)
Mrs. Pontellier then went to see how the child feels. She came back sad and went
outside. She was accustomed with these experiences but somehow, now it felt
differently, like a mood which troubled her. An indescribable oppression, which
seemed to generate in some unfamiliar part of her conscious ness, filled her whole
being with a vague anguish. It was like a shadow, like a mist passing across her soul
s summer day. (Chopin, The awakening, pg.11).

Overview Of Plato And Plato s Theory Of The Four Forms
Throughout history, many philosophers have discussed the question: is human
behavior driven by the mind (logic) or is it driven by a greater force (soul)? This
question has been a major topic of many philosophical discussions. This debate has
caused many philosophers to give potential answers to the problem, yet no one
agrees on one idea. Of these potential answers, two well known ones are Plato s
Theory of Forms and Aristotles Theory of the Four Causes. Despite their common
focus on knowledge, the two philosophers differ in their beliefs in how knowledge
is obtained. Plato places a bigger emphasis on the soul being the source of true
knowledge, while Aristotle argues that true knowledge comes from logic and reason.
Of the two, Aristotle... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
True knowledge is information that cannot be refuted or even argued against. In
his mind, true knowledge is absolute truth. Plato uses his Theory of the Forms to
explain the nature of everything in existence. In Phaedo, Plato gives the example
of why a beautiful person or a beautiful object truly has beauty. Plato argues that if
anything is beautiful besides absolute beauty it is beautiful for no other reason
than because it partakes of absolute beauty; and this applies to everything (Phaedo
100c). In order for people to identify something that is beautiful, we must have a
general understanding of beauty as an abstract concept. This means that people
have the ability to identify a person or object as beautiful because the person or
object is participating in the general form of beauty. This general form of beauty
cannot be seen nor change; it is unlike people and objects in the visible world
which can lose their beauty. Just as with the idea of beauty, Plato argues that his
Theory of Forms applies to all of reality of stating that there is a form for every
concept that there exists. These forms are eternal and unchanging, unaffected and
unhindered by the ever changing nature of the visible world. The ambiguity of the
concept of the forms in Plato s Theory of Forms lessens the strength of Plato s
overall argument. Plato uses the concept of the forms as the basis of many of his

impossible to compare it with the beauty of Malaysia. The island looks like a

impressive population of underwater creatures, both big and small. Besides, the
Great Barrier Reef is home to aquatic mammals such as Dugongs that are now
endangered. If you all your life dreamed of exploring these beauties, it is better to go

Analysis Of Imperial Dreams
In Imperial Dreams directed by Malik Booth, one scene shows the main character
Bambi letting his son: Daytone riding a horse, which portrays both his son and his
happiness even though they aren t in a happy environment. This is shown through
different shots and techniques such as; a medium shot showing Daytone riding the
horse; a close up on Bambi s face to show his facial expressions and actors
performance; lighting and colour ; and a long shotto show Bambi paying the man who
owned the horse, money for the horse ride. All these help to show happiness in
Bambi and Daytone.
Malik Booth uses a medium shot to show happiness. Happiness is shown on
Daytone s face when he is seen riding the horse. The medium shot shows Daytone
with a big grin on his face, brightening up his whole face while sitting on top of the
horse. Earlier in the film, we see Daytone playing with a toy horse, which normally
means he likes it. He also doesn t recognize Bambi which means that Day didn t
know his own father. But now Day stays with his father and having him ride an
actual horse is like a big present that is given to us on our birthday or Christmas.
Which normally feels exciting and ecstatic. For Bambi to give this gift to Daytone
which symbolizes the horse, shows the audience how much he cares for him and that
he shows it through this scene.
Malik also uses a close up shot on Bambi s face to show
The Argument Of Elitism Vs. Pluralism
The question of who get s what, and how is the guiding concern presented in the
general argument of elitism vs. pluralism this week. The authors of the three key texts
seem to each take a varying approach to answering this question, with some offering
more extreme answers than others. On the most elitist extreme, Mills in The Power
Elite(1956) provides a strong argumentthat the decisions made in politicsare the direct
result of the actions of a highly selective group of individuals who do not have the
best interests of the mass public at heart. This elite is made up of (presumably) men
from the realms of business, military, and high level politics. Socio economic factors
such as income and social circle keep the elite in a position of power through their
cumulative advantage. The tight control over decisions and actions of importance
that this elite has is legitimized by their positions of legal, economic, and political
importance. Mill further argues that the decision making structures most viewers
would point to as the source of policy and political action are little more than mid
level actors competing over petty decisions. Their ability to debate minor issues is
unimpeded, though the elite ensures that there is no serious challenge to their
authority from this mid level. Further down on the power spectrum, Mill points to the
apolitical masses, who exert no real influence over the decision making system.
While a segment of this population may exert their right
School Dress Code And Anti Dress Codes Essay
Students have been affected by dress codes for many years. Others, for better or
for worse, never had to deal with them. It has been debated for years between
parents, students, and school systems alike as to whether or not dress codes are
appropriate to enforce. This essay will summarize, make an argument, and analyze
Krystal Miller s article on this subject, titled, School Dress Codes . School Dress
Codes is a 1990 article about the issues surrounding various city s experiences with
enforcing a school dress code. In the article, four different high schools in Detroit
are examined, as well as a school in Baltimore, Chicago, and Los Angeles.
Depositions from both pro dress code and anti dress code persons are included.
The opposing end includes Mary Louise Starks, who is in charge of the
psychological services for the Detroit school system and says dress codes are not
the solution to the violence, A dress code is a temporary measure that is limited in
scope. Students are committing these crimes because they don t have a sense of
power and self esteem. They steal from their peers to gain control over another
person (qtd. in Miller 87). An example of a pro dress code student from the article is
17 year old Jonathon Johns, a senior at Dunbar High Schoolin Baltimore, who says,
Violence isn t as bad as it was. There s no way to prove it s all due to the dress code,
but I feel it s had a big impact (qtd. in Miller 87). There are several testimonies and

Settlement Of San Antonio And The Defense Of All This
New...
For through observation and exploration of those lands and coasts, both by land and
sea, it must be recognized that these settlements must be the rampart, fortress, and
the defense of all this New Spain. (pg. 1). The author Jesus F. de la Teja takes a
objective look of settlement of San Antonio and its surroundings. His book covers
over the course of a period of the 18th Century. His writings describe the life of the
settlers, economics, living conditions, and their use of the land. He does a superior
job of characterizing the early TexasColonial settlers daily life. The author uses
distinct unbiased information that rundowns the growth of the settlement of San
Antonio. Tejada addresses a past that encompasses the length of the 18th... Show

How livestock were rounded up and then taken on cattle drives. The cattle drives
would end at train stations where the livestock were loaded up. The trains would
transport the cattle to meat producing plants. The author Teja also does an acceptable
analysis of the land use patterns around the Mission of San Antonio. With the many
diverse groups and families settling San Antonio, Teja covers the diversity the area
goes through. Teja could have placed more emphasis in painting a picture that San
Antonio was the focal point in the Northern Boundary lands. I highly endorse this
book for a person looking to study the growth of San Antonio in the 18th Century.
Community in San Antonio de Bexar did not spring up overnight. It was the product
of a Shared struggle for survival among people who initially had little in common.
(pg. 160) According to Chipman, The author Teja is a scholar who is focused on the
formation of the community at San Antonio de Bexar during the 18th Century.
(Chipman) Teja provides a precise overview of the early settlers norms, beliefs, and
attitudes in occupying San Antonio in an nonpartisan manner. Permanently settled in
1718, San Antonio began as a military and missionary outpost on the northern frontier
of New Spain. (Chipman) Teja also captures how the older settlers viewed their
relationship with the arrogant Islenos. Chipman further reflects on Teja s
Coming Of Age Catcher In The Rye
Coming of age is a common theme in young adult books. It is easy to relate to for
many people, most are either going through it or have been through it. In Catcher
In The Rye. By J.D Salinger a young boy around the age of sixteen is named
Holden who is also the speaker of the book, is kicked out of another private school
and sets off to his home city New York before his family finds out in the early fifties.
This book was banned from schools for the mentioning of: profanity, alcohol, sex,
drugs, prostitution, and violence. Holdenseems to be troubled and confused. The
book starts of with him at Pencey Prep the school he was expelled from. In this part
of the book you meet his roommate Stradlater. Holden describes him as a sexy bastard

The more you hear Holden express his thoughts on people, and life in general it is
clear he is not your average sixteen year old; Holden is alone. His family sent him
away to boarding school, his eldest brother has gone to Hollywood to work, he does
not seem to truly connect with anyone he went to school with, and saddest of all his
youngest brother had died of an illness. Holden talks about tragedies like his brothers
death as if he is no longer hurting from them. This seems to be Holden s tone
throughout the book. Something bad would happen and Holden brushes it off and
continues the story. Holden is stuck between growing up and becoming another
phony adult and staying a child. There is irony in this because where Holden
despises adults and thinks they are all fake he constantly is trying to get away with
adult things like smoking, drinking, and going into clubs. He also acts like a child
every time he is faced with an adult situation. Instead of having a rational
conversation with his roommate about his roommates date with his old friend Jane
he lunges into a fist fight over it. The Author uses lots of hyperboles and metaphors
to show Holden s exaggerated attitude towards things. Holden even finds just sitting
by himself to make him feel like a prize horses ass (86). The diction Holden uses in
this book reveals a lot about him. Simpler
Burbank Drug Abuse Research Paper
I am writing to you today regarding the recent outbreaks of Hepatitis A Virus (HAV)
and the importance of hand washing. As you might know San Diego and Santa Cruz
Counties are now experiencing outbreak epidemics, and our own county of Los
Angeles declared a week ago, its own HAV outbreak.
The majority of infection cases are with homeless persons or illicit drug users, or
both, along with those who provide services to the homeless population. Having
worked the homeless count over the past few years, I can attest for the increase of
homeless individuals, not only in Burbank but in San Fernando Valley. Additionally,
due to the building expansion in downtown Los Angeles, surrounding suburbs such as
Glendale, North Hollywood, and Burbank are ... Show more content on

Sadly, I often (too often) see individuals leave the restroom without washing their
hands. You can imagine my concern, not only for the homeless population but for
others. I therefore, took it upon myself to make quality hand washing signs,
downloaded from the CDC (Centers of Disease Control and Prevention) for the
public restrooms in Burbank that are popular with the homeless population.
Currently, the Burbank Central Library has this signage as they wanted to align
themselves with BTAC and join in being proactive in preventing HAV in our city. I
have ordered more signs, for the other two Burbank libraries, and am requesting, per
your approval, that one sign be hung in each of the bathrooms in the police
department lobby.
I also constructed HAV flyers to be handed out to homeless individuals that frequent
the hill area and not BTAC, for preventative measures. In doing so, I am certain, that
by educating everyone in the importance of hand washing, administering vaccines,
and installing hand hygiene signs, that Burbank can and will stay ahead of the

Analysis Of Blade Runner
Blade Runner: what makes a Human?
Blade Runner is a 1982 film directed by Ridley Scott. It is a loose adaptation of Do
Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? written by Philip K. Dick. It has spawned a loyal
following of fans and is seen as a cult classic by many people. The film has inspired a
lot of popular culture in movies, anime and video games (Hills, 2011). The films
cult popularity is so great that it even received theatrical rereleases with additional
scenes in 1992 ( Director s Cut ), 2007 ( Final Cut ) and a sequel in 2017.
The academic side of the film industry has given plenty of attention to this film too.
There are hundreds of articles written about it. For instance, a few articles in the Alien
Zone (Kuhn ed., 1990) mentioned this famous film and base their arguments on it.
And there are certainly reasons why. Blade Runner touches upon a variety of
interesting subject and exhibits rich metaphors and symbolism. The most engaging
subject of the film, for me at least, seems to be the question of how human are
replicants. One of the best examples discussing this question is the scene in which
Rick Deckard meats Rachael and administers to her a Voight Kampff Test. The Final
Cut version of the film will be used in this analysis.
The scene is set after Deckard has been given the case of the rogue replicants. His
Boss suggests visiting the Tyrell Corporation to learn if Voight Kampff test will work
on the hunted replicants as this is the organization that builds the

  • 1. Community Service Essay Writing an essay on the topic of community service can be a challenging yet rewarding endeavor. The difficulty lies not only in the need to articulate one's thoughts coherently but also in the depth of reflection required to convey a genuine commitment to community service. It demands introspection to elucidate personal experiences, motivations, and the impact of service on both the individual and the community. Crafting a compelling narrative involves striking a balance between humility and pride, showcasing the meaningful contributions made while avoiding the trap of self-aggrandizement. The challenge is to weave a story that captures the essence of the service undertaken, the lessons learned, and the growth experienced. Furthermore, it requires an understanding of the broader context, acknowledging the societal issues addressed and the potential for lasting change. Navigating through the essay requires a delicate touch when discussing challenges faced during community service. It's vital to portray these obstacles as opportunities for personal and community growth, demonstrating resilience and a commitment to overcoming adversity. The essay should not only resonate with the reader but also inspire a sense of empathy and a call to action. Additionally, incorporating research and statistics to support claims and underscore the significance of community service adds another layer of complexity. Balancing personal anecdotes with broader insights requires finesse to maintain a cohesive and well-structured essay. In conclusion, writing a compelling essay on community service is no easy task. Translating has two meanings; translating from one language to another, and translating others work into one s words. Like the famous quote Translation is the art of failure by Umberto Eco, there were countless controversies over the translation of written works over centuries, from personal writings to literature. Understandably, there are no exceptions for the case of bibletranslation. The history of bible translation began in the 5th century BCE in Palestine, from Hebrew to Aramaic. There are many factors that affect the content and structure of the bible when it is translated. One factor is emotional attachment to already familiar version. Since the group of people revising the bible are Christians themselves, they must have studied an already existing version for their whole life. This is impossible to ignore and it appears intactly on their work, like King James Version (KJV) and Revised Korean Version (RKV). Another factor is the difference in languages. This is important because the structure of language is different from culture to culture and the meaning it connotes is... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This quote from the chief operating officer of the largest social media sites reinforces what I have been taught since I was young. Taking the chance to do something you could possibly never have the chance to try again is worth the risk rather than playing it safe and wishing you could have done it. One of my earliest memories was when I was still living in Robbinsdale. My dad was, and still is, the type of guy that will let his kids take risks if he knows a lesson could be learned from the outcome. That is exactly what he did in this situation. Going back and thinking about it now it was a really bad idea because I could barely water ski in general! The pain was immense, the amount of stinging I was feeling was like nothing I had ever experienced. I was up and doing pretty well for about 40 feet. Then my toe caught the water and I went face first into the wake of the boat. As I swam up to the surface of the water i started laughing uncontrollably, I was laughing so hard I thought I was going to inhale water. When I reached to surface my lungs were burning, it felt like I had gone without air for hours. The boat circled back around and a lot of my friends were doing the same thing I was doing. Through the laughing and the that was awesome dude I became addicted to trying new things and taking risks. The recognition, that he fills a meaningful space in the society as a man because with recognition comes power, the power every other Anglo American possessed in the United States from that period. Bandini did not realize that no matter how good of a writer he becomes, his under looked race and superior ideology of Anglo America would not consider him as a respectable writer. Bandini s hunger for power and insecurities lead him losing the most meaningful thing in his life, Camila. Bandini should have understood that he cannot find love in materialistic thing, but in Camila or Vera. Some could say it was his immaturity, I believe it was pride. However, realizing in the end of the novel, that trying to gain acceptance into the society was a worthless battle that only lead to pain. • 8. Essay on The Second Sex by Simone de Beauvoir Simone de Beauvoir, in her 1949 text The Second Sex, examines the problems faced by women in Western society. She argues that women are subjugated, oppressed, and made to be inferior to males simply by virtue of the fact that they are women. She notes that men define their own world, and women are merely meant to live in it. She sees women as unable to change the world like men can, unable to live their lives freely as men can, and, tragically, mostly unaware of their own oppression. In The Second Sex, de Beauvoir describes the subjugation of woman, defines a method for her liberation, and recommends strategies for this liberation that still have not been implemented today. She comments on the oppression experienced by woman through three distinct lenses: that of biological differences, that of the psychoanalytical perspective, and finally through the lens of historical materialism. Biologically speaking, De Beauvoir notes that the sexes are defined in opposition to each other; for example, man is not woman and woman is not man. Their differences are, however, unidentifiable at the most basic of cellular levels. Therefore, the main differentiation of the two genders is demonstrated through sexuality. De Beauvoir goes on to argue that woman s passive role in procreation reflects her passive role in society, and that society trains women to become subjugated from the very day of their birth. Further, despite the two sexes cooperative role in creating new members of the species, men are regarded as those who provide the stimuli needed for evoking new life (13) and women who simply enable the new life to become lodged in a stable organism. (13) This reinforces stereotypical notions of the virile male and the passive female, notions that are reflected in society as woman takes a
  • 9. The Success Is The Accomplishment Of One s Goals One of the meanings of the word success is the accomplishment of one s goals. Throughout our lives we make a lot of goals because we want to be happy with ourselves. The majority of the time we make a goal it s because we are motivated. We get ready to do anything it takes to accomplish our goals because we believe we can. But people set aside their goals for numerous reasons. I myself have set aside goals of my own numerous of times. The one goalthat seems to bother me often is working out on a consistent basis because I feel that I am very unsuccessful in this category. Working out is very important to me because It s something I wantto do for the rest of my life. Not only does working out make me feel happy and productive, I care a lot about what my body looks like. After reading Chapters One through Nine in Jeff Olson s The Slight Edge: Turning Simple Disciplines into Massive Success Happiness, I have come to the realization of why people who are capable of success, never see it. He explains that there are small things we can do daily that will lead us to a life of success. In Chapter One The Beach Bum and The Millionaire Olson calls these things, simple daily disciplines (10). For these past three weeks I have been religiously practicing Olson s guidelines and my progress has been unsteady. My first problem that I have encountered while trying to accomplish my goal is, after about a week of my workouts I started losing motivation to continue every day. I felt
  • 10. The Importance Of Extracurricular Activities And Personal... Try to remember your first day at school. Generally, teachers cannot even remember the name of any one of their students. Now, how exactly are they supposed to remember all of their 120 students personal lives? Contrary to that belief, most students believe that teachers should account for their extracurricular activities and personal lives. But, not only is that not possible, it is not plausible. Obviously, for students, keeping up with their work and personal lives is a hard task to manage, but developing their time management skills is something each student will need to learn to do as they continue their studies in college. Teachers should not have to plan their curriculum around student responsibilities due to the numerous types of jobs and extracurricular activities students take part in. According to Dunbar s Number, we as people can only remember at most 150 names, of course, that number is the maximum. On average, according to 21 percent of the faculty members of West Warwick Public Schools, the average numbers of students per class would be 120 to 125 students per year. Therefore, it makes sense teachers would struggle at remembering even 125 names, let alone their complex personal lives. Teachers, along with their students names, would have to remember their students personal lives and then go on to create a curriculum based around those numerous activities. Obviously, most teachers would find that unreasonable. Therefore, it is more than clear teachers
  • 11. Reflection On Science Lesson On November 1, 2017, I taught my second science lesson at Maverick Elementary School. It took place during my Kindergarten class usually scheduled science lesson. This week my class was going over the 5 senses, so my lesson fit perfectly into their curriculum. My lesson was about using the 5 senses to predict what an unknown objectwas in a closed bag. I chose to do this lesson because my students were learning how to use senses as a tool of observation to identify properties and patterns of organisms, objects, and events in environment (TEK K.4B). My objective was for the students to use their senses to identify an object and describe the different properties of objects accurately. Strengths and Weaknesses of Lesson I think one of the strengths of my lesson was the actual lesson itself. My students really loved the hands on activity because they were engaged and eager to discover what was in the bag. They were talking to their classmates at a good volume, and there were no students getting out of their seats or being disruptive. I was actually quite surprised by this outcome because I usually have to correct student behavior. However, this lesson caught all of the students attention and made them want to be good to participate. I believe that this lesson really highlighted what science and learning is all about, which is discovering new things and continuously wanting to know more. This lesson was a great lesson because it made the students interested in science and their own education. I think one of the weaknesses of my lesson was my delivery of the instructions. In the beginning, as I was trying to explain how to conduct the activity, I was stumbling over my words a lot. I think this is so because I was trying to find the right words to say for Kindergarteners. For example, when I was telling my students that they had to circle the descriptive words on the worksheet, they looked at me with blank faces and did not know what I was saying. I think it is because I was using too big of words, so it was pretty hard for me to try to use smaller words. In the end, however, my students found out how to do the worksheet, when I showed them over the Elmo. Overall, I think my lesson went pretty well,

The Importance Of Comics As A Learning Devices The idea that comics can be used as a learning device is strange to some, but comics can teach kids many important lessons such as reading comprehension, how to act social, and how to engage as a reader or writer. These concepts will help us understand why comics are educational, beneficial and can optimize learning in school and university. At the same time, South Africa saw very similar policies; however, in this case, the white minority oppressed blacks by enforcing oppressive Apartheid laws that placed blacks in run down homelands, forcing them to carry passes in order to travel through South Africa. Despite the black population doubling the white population, whites continued to hold control as a result of their political control and abundance of wealth. • 20. The Theme Of God In Design, By Robert Frost The subject of Robert Frost s Design is simply about life and death, but the theme here is touching upon the question of God s role in the design of nature and the world around us. The poem is more on the dark side from the way he describes the main characters the white spider, the heal all flower, and the moth and the way he starts to questionwhy everything went the way it did. Was it just a random occurrence or does God actually make terrible things, like the spider killing the moth on a flower, happen? To begin with, the speaker starts off the poem by introducing the main characters. There is a spider, described as whiteand fat, then there is the heal all which is basically a flower that is used for medicinal purposes. And last but not least, the moth, who which flutters his way into his death. The big white spider is perched up on the white flower, holding the moth as if they purposely all gathered together for a witches brew. With this observation, the speaker constructs a series of questions: why is the flower, that is usually blue, now white? Why did the spider decide on that specific flower instead of any other one? And why did the moth happen to fly by at that certain moment? In the last line, Frost asks the question of if this how God designed the world to be. The speaker is Robert Frost himself, just a bystander in the distance that so happens to stumble upon this scene and observes it enough to write about it. The poem reveals what he now thinks

  • 22. Pan Gu Myth I have chosen to review the Chinese and the Hebrew creation myths. The Chinese creation myth of Pan Gu, incorporates the idea of the forces of Yin and Yang. This two forces form the Tao. Yin is associated with the dark and the earth; instead, yang is associated with light and the sun. On the beginning there was a cosmic egg and Pangu was inside in the midst of Yin and Yang. For eighteen years Pan Gu grew up until he broke the egg. Pan Gu separated the Heaven (bright) and the Earth (Dark). When Pan Gu died, his breath became the wind and the clouds, his eyes became the sun and the moon, his skin became the flowers and trees and his sweat the rain. Pan Gu is very similar to the representation of God in the Hebrew creation Myth. Both were the first living being in the universe, and also as God did, Pan Gu also separated heaven and Earth. Both myths explain orderly the beginning of everything. However, in the Chinese story the creation begins from the chaos with a cosmic egg, while in the Hebrew story the creation begins from nothing. God was the only thing that existed. In the Chinese story when Pan Gu died, it was when the creation of everything began. But in Hebrew story and from nothing God wanted to begin the creation, which he did in 7 days. In Hebrew story existed only one Creator, but in Chinese story there was more than one. Nu Gua created people out of the mud in the Chinese story. She completed her job of populating the earth and teach the humans how to procreate. In the Hebrew story God created a man in his own image Adam, and then, from an Adam s rib God created a woman,
  • 23. The Relationship Between Mass Media And The Media Introduction The media and I have a history of disagreeing. I have referred to them with many derogatory names, of which they deserve, and continue to see their faults in 2017 (Truman, 1951). I am particularly interested in how Breitbart and CNN use their influence on the public to further the partisan divide. Politics seem based more on who the public does not like, rather than who they are in favor of. Profound changes in the relationship between news media and policy makers have emerged as byproducts of new, faster communications technology. These changes present some advantages like fast and widespread coverage nationally and globally, interactive feedback between journalists and audiences, and convenience. The disadvantages are detrimental, however. The sheer volume of information available to the public poses a threat due to the fact that oftentimes citizens know more than their government officials, and information is leaked and hacked more easily. This is another way that the media can influence the public: accidentally leaking information that may or may not be completely false. Many news organizations feign impartiality, and act as though they would never intentionally spread deceptive information, but I know this to be a falsehood (Truman, 1961, 115). Mass media has motivations from their CEOs and sponsors, but also from corrupt politicians who buy out journalists and entire franchises to ensure that they aren t attacked by that particular organization

Summary Of The Las Meninas Page 1 of 4 ZOOM Harlie UnderhillDecember 4, 2017Spanish 1B HudsonLas MeninasThe Las Meninas is a piece of artwork made by Diego VelГЎzquez in 1656 in the Cuarta del Principe in AlmcГЎzar in Madrid. It is one of the most famous paintings in the Spanish history. Velazquez was trying to bring this paintingcloser to Spanish History. The artwork is a painting of the infanata and her attendants. She has two maids around her, and JosГ© Nieto in the doorway. Behind the infanata there is a canvas, on the canvas is a picture of Mari BГЎrbola and Nicolasito Pertusato. The infanatas parents, Philip IV and Mariana de Ulloa, reflections are in the mirror. The artist also includes himself in the painting, painting a huge canvas. When VelГЎzquez was painting the portrait, he was trying to paint like the technique called Baroque. This technique is the style used to exaggerate motion in order to produce drama and tension in paintings, sculptures, literature, dance and music. He was trying to make a complex and credible composition that would convey a sense of life and reality. Velazquez limits between reality and painting.. The composition combines unity and variety. This painting has a specific location, and identified figures, and its a group portrait. Pablo Picasso made many interpretations of this painting. He has made a series of 58 paintings. He wasn t trying to create a copy or variation of Velazquez s work, but to create his own unique painting. He made these paintings in memory of Jaume SabartГ©s. He wanted to show all the different feelings and ideas inside her mind. He changed the face structure of the infanata because he was trying to show the difficulty it was for her to balance her feelings, emotions, and ideas. The two paintings by the two different artists are very similar to each other, just as they are different. One of the main similarities are the princess, both of the paintings include the princess even though they look very different. They both also show how the princess is focused on the light. In velazquez painting she is looking at the light, while in Picasso s painting it shows the brighter colors to show the light. Both of the paintings have many different reasoning to why they made this

  • 28. Lexical Cohesion The concept of cohesion accounts for the essential semantic relations whereby any speech or writing is enabled to function as text. Cohesion is classified into different categories: lexical cohesion and reference, substitution, ellipsis, conjunction or what is called grammatical cohesion. These categories do not only have a theoretical basis as distinct type of cohesive relations but also provide a practical mean for describing and analyzing texts. Each of these categories is represented in the text by practical features. Undoubtedly there are other types of semantic relation within a text which are not represented in the concept of cohesion. However, cohesion is the most important type of semantic relation because it is common to every kind of text and it is what makes a text text. (Halliday Hassan,1976,p.13)... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In spite of the various studies of lexical cohesion, most researchers agree that there are fundamental features of lexical cohesion. There was an agreement among many of the researchers that lexical cohesion is divided into two different types of relations. Halliday and Hassan (1976) call these reiteration and collocation. In some other versions of studies the term repetition is used instead of reiteration. Regardless of the term, this relation involves repetition of lexical items identically or in a modified form (synonyms, antonyms, generalization, and specification). Items related by reiteration may be also referentially related but this is not obligatory. The relation of collocation, on the other hand, is an associative meaning relationship between words that tend to co occur with each other regularly.

Many people live their lives allowing others to tell them what to do. They allow others to put them down, and to make them feel less of a person. There have been stories about man versus man, man versus nature and most importantly man versus self. In The story of an Hour by Kate Chopin and The Cask of Amontillado by Edgar Allen Poe we see how each writer uses setting, characterization, and dramatic irony to show how allowing others to dictate ones life can lead to disastrous ends. The story settings of Chopin and Poe help to show how repression alters the mind. In Chopin s, The Story of an Hour, setting is used to show how Mrs. Mallard s repressed state of mind begins to flower and grow after she learns of her husband s death. It is not upon first reading, but second reading, that most start to interpret the settings around Mrs. Mallard while she sits in her bedroom. Chopin writes, She could see [......] tops of trees that were all aquiver with the new spring life. It is, as she sits at the window, that she becomes aware that she is free of her husband. Spring is the season of new growth and awakening of animal life. Chopin also writes about how patches of blue sky appear out of the clouds that had met and piled one above the other. These two descriptions help the reader see what is, perhaps, going on in her mind. The setting in which Chopin put Ms. Mallard in helps speak

Rhetorical Analysis Of Do The Right Thing Saxe Rhetorical Analysis: Do the Right Thing In Do the Right Thing, author Rebecca Saxe examines what scientist claim to know about morality and investigates the possibility that a basic, fundamental part moral thinking is shared by all humans across a variety of cultures, beliefs, and principles. This morality is quite diverse, just as the people in this world, but Saxe uses ethos, pathos and logos to lead audiences to discover that even though our different cultures, beliefs and principles can define what we believe to be right and wrong, humans contain a moral instinct , that is shared by all peoples, even those unable to identify morals. Saxe does not simply start by throwing near meaningless psychological and neurocognitive jargon at the audience. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Saxe identifies this group as preverbal babies. By studying the behaviors of these infants, psychologists are able determine that basic instinct that humans share. These babies, aged between four and twelve months, are much too young to be influenced by the institution around them. The infants are also too young to communicate their thought processes, so psychologists analyze the only responses these infants can communicate, looking and crawling. In the experiment involving these preverbal infants, babies were shown videos of one man being nice to a girl while another was mean to the girl. The infants tended to look more at the mean man and crawl to the nice man. A similar video was shown illustrating a helpful and hurtful shapes. After the square hurt the circle, the circle then chose to be with the square instead of the helpful triangle. There is an assumption made by Saxe and psychologists in this data that the infants are looking at the mean man and shape to understand why they acted the way they did, that the hurtful actions confused these children and so they were intrigued by the actions, perhaps because it is not how the infants would have acted. The results conclude that by the age of one, children can identify helpful and hurtful actions. But these are merely

Overview Of Plato And Plato s Theory Of The Four Forms Throughout history, many philosophers have discussed the question: is human behavior driven by the mind (logic) or is it driven by a greater force (soul)? This question has been a major topic of many philosophical discussions. This debate has caused many philosophers to give potential answers to the problem, yet no one agrees on one idea. Of these potential answers, two well known ones are Plato s Theory of Forms and Aristotles Theory of the Four Causes. Despite their common focus on knowledge, the two philosophers differ in their beliefs in how knowledge is obtained. Plato places a bigger emphasis on the soul being the source of true knowledge, while Aristotle argues that true knowledge comes from logic and reason. Of the two, Aristotle... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... True knowledge is information that cannot be refuted or even argued against. In his mind, true knowledge is absolute truth. Plato uses his Theory of the Forms to explain the nature of everything in existence. In Phaedo, Plato gives the example of why a beautiful person or a beautiful object truly has beauty. Plato argues that if anything is beautiful besides absolute beauty it is beautiful for no other reason than because it partakes of absolute beauty; and this applies to everything (Phaedo 100c). In order for people to identify something that is beautiful, we must have a general understanding of beauty as an abstract concept. This means that people have the ability to identify a person or object as beautiful because the person or object is participating in the general form of beauty. This general form of beauty cannot be seen nor change; it is unlike people and objects in the visible world which can lose their beauty. Just as with the idea of beauty, Plato argues that his Theory of Forms applies to all of reality of stating that there is a form for every concept that there exists. These forms are eternal and unchanging, unaffected and unhindered by the ever changing nature of the visible world. The ambiguity of the concept of the forms in Plato s Theory of Forms lessens the strength of Plato s overall argument. Plato uses the concept of the forms as the basis of many of his

  • 41. Analysis Of Imperial Dreams In Imperial Dreams directed by Malik Booth, one scene shows the main character Bambi letting his son: Daytone riding a horse, which portrays both his son and his happiness even though they aren t in a happy environment. This is shown through different shots and techniques such as; a medium shot showing Daytone riding the horse; a close up on Bambi s face to show his facial expressions and actors performance; lighting and colour ; and a long shotto show Bambi paying the man who owned the horse, money for the horse ride. All these help to show happiness in Bambi and Daytone. Malik Booth uses a medium shot to show happiness. Happiness is shown on Daytone s face when he is seen riding the horse. The medium shot shows Daytone with a big grin on his face, brightening up his whole face while sitting on top of the horse. Earlier in the film, we see Daytone playing with a toy horse, which normally means he likes it. He also doesn t recognize Bambi which means that Day didn t know his own father. But now Day stays with his father and having him ride an actual horse is like a big present that is given to us on our birthday or Christmas. Which normally feels exciting and ecstatic. For Bambi to give this gift to Daytone which symbolizes the horse, shows the audience how much he cares for him and that he shows it through this scene. Malik also uses a close up shot on Bambi s face to show
  • 42. The Argument Of Elitism Vs. Pluralism The question of who get s what, and how is the guiding concern presented in the general argument of elitism vs. pluralism this week. The authors of the three key texts seem to each take a varying approach to answering this question, with some offering more extreme answers than others. On the most elitist extreme, Mills in The Power Elite(1956) provides a strong argumentthat the decisions made in politicsare the direct result of the actions of a highly selective group of individuals who do not have the best interests of the mass public at heart. This elite is made up of (presumably) men from the realms of business, military, and high level politics. Socio economic factors such as income and social circle keep the elite in a position of power through their cumulative advantage. The tight control over decisions and actions of importance that this elite has is legitimized by their positions of legal, economic, and political importance. Mill further argues that the decision making structures most viewers would point to as the source of policy and political action are little more than mid level actors competing over petty decisions. Their ability to debate minor issues is unimpeded, though the elite ensures that there is no serious challenge to their authority from this mid level. Further down on the power spectrum, Mill points to the apolitical masses, who exert no real influence over the decision making system. While a segment of this population may exert their right
  • 43. School Dress Code And Anti Dress Codes Essay Students have been affected by dress codes for many years. Others, for better or for worse, never had to deal with them. It has been debated for years between parents, students, and school systems alike as to whether or not dress codes are appropriate to enforce. This essay will summarize, make an argument, and analyze Krystal Miller s article on this subject, titled, School Dress Codes . School Dress Codes is a 1990 article about the issues surrounding various city s experiences with enforcing a school dress code. In the article, four different high schools in Detroit are examined, as well as a school in Baltimore, Chicago, and Los Angeles. Depositions from both pro dress code and anti dress code persons are included. The opposing end includes Mary Louise Starks, who is in charge of the psychological services for the Detroit school system and says dress codes are not the solution to the violence, A dress code is a temporary measure that is limited in scope. Students are committing these crimes because they don t have a sense of power and self esteem. They steal from their peers to gain control over another person (qtd. in Miller 87). An example of a pro dress code student from the article is 17 year old Jonathon Johns, a senior at Dunbar High Schoolin Baltimore, who says, Violence isn t as bad as it was. There s no way to prove it s all due to the dress code, but I feel it s had a big impact (qtd. in Miller 87). There are several testimonies and

For through observation and exploration of those lands and coasts, both by land and sea, it must be recognized that these settlements must be the rampart, fortress, and the defense of all this New Spain. (pg. 1). The author Jesus F. de la Teja takes a objective look of settlement of San Antonio and its surroundings. His book covers over the course of a period of the 18th Century. His writings describe the life of the settlers, economics, living conditions, and their use of the land. He does a superior job of characterizing the early TexasColonial settlers daily life. The author uses distinct unbiased information that rundowns the growth of the settlement of San Antonio. Tejada addresses a past that encompasses the length of the 18th... The trains would transport the cattle to meat producing plants. The author Teja also does an acceptable analysis of the land use patterns around the Mission of San Antonio. With the many diverse groups and families settling San Antonio, Teja covers the diversity the area goes through. Teja could have placed more emphasis in painting a picture that San Antonio was the focal point in the Northern Boundary lands. I highly endorse this book for a person looking to study the growth of San Antonio in the 18th Century. Community in San Antonio de Bexar did not spring up overnight. It was the product of a Shared struggle for survival among people who initially had little in common. (pg. 160) According to Chipman, The author Teja is a scholar who is focused on the formation of the community at San Antonio de Bexar during the 18th Century. (Chipman) Teja provides a precise overview of the early settlers norms, beliefs, and attitudes in occupying San Antonio in an nonpartisan manner. Permanently settled in 1718, San Antonio began as a military and missionary outpost on the northern frontier of New Spain. (Chipman) Teja also captures how the older settlers viewed their relationship with the arrogant Islenos. Chipman further reflects on Teja s
  • 46. Coming Of Age Catcher In The Rye Coming of age is a common theme in young adult books. It is easy to relate to for many people, most are either going through it or have been through it. In Catcher In The Rye. By J.D Salinger a young boy around the age of sixteen is named Holden who is also the speaker of the book, is kicked out of another private school and sets off to his home city New York before his family finds out in the early fifties. This book was banned from schools for the mentioning of: profanity, alcohol, sex, drugs, prostitution, and violence. Holdenseems to be troubled and confused. The book starts of with him at Pencey Prep the school he was expelled from. In this part of the book you meet his roommate Stradlater. Holden describes him as a sexy bastard ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The more you hear Holden express his thoughts on people, and life in general it is clear he is not your average sixteen year old; Holden is alone. His family sent him away to boarding school, his eldest brother has gone to Hollywood to work, he does not seem to truly connect with anyone he went to school with, and saddest of all his youngest brother had died of an illness. Holden talks about tragedies like his brothers death as if he is no longer hurting from them. This seems to be Holden s tone throughout the book. Something bad would happen and Holden brushes it off and continues the story. Holden is stuck between growing up and becoming another phony adult and staying a child. There is irony in this because where Holden despises adults and thinks they are all fake he constantly is trying to get away with adult things like smoking, drinking, and going into clubs. He also acts like a child every time he is faced with an adult situation. Instead of having a rational conversation with his roommate about his roommates date with his old friend Jane he lunges into a fist fight over it. The Author uses lots of hyperboles and metaphors to show Holden s exaggerated attitude towards things. Holden even finds just sitting by himself to make him feel like a prize horses ass (86). The diction Holden uses in this book reveals a lot about him. Simpler
  • 47. Burbank Drug Abuse Research Paper I am writing to you today regarding the recent outbreaks of Hepatitis A Virus (HAV) and the importance of hand washing. As you might know San Diego and Santa Cruz Counties are now experiencing outbreak epidemics, and our own county of Los Angeles declared a week ago, its own HAV outbreak. The majority of infection cases are with homeless persons or illicit drug users, or both, along with those who provide services to the homeless population. Having worked the homeless count over the past few years, I can attest for the increase of homeless individuals, not only in Burbank but in San Fernando Valley. Additionally, due to the building expansion in downtown Los Angeles, surrounding suburbs such as Glendale, North Hollywood, and Burbank are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Sadly, I often (too often) see individuals leave the restroom without washing their hands. You can imagine my concern, not only for the homeless population but for others. I therefore, took it upon myself to make quality hand washing signs, downloaded from the CDC (Centers of Disease Control and Prevention) for the public restrooms in Burbank that are popular with the homeless population. Currently, the Burbank Central Library has this signage as they wanted to align themselves with BTAC and join in being proactive in preventing HAV in our city. I have ordered more signs, for the other two Burbank libraries, and am requesting, per your approval, that one sign be hung in each of the bathrooms in the police department lobby. I also constructed HAV flyers to be handed out to homeless individuals that frequent the hill area and not BTAC, for preventative measures. In doing so, I am certain, that by educating everyone in the importance of hand washing, administering vaccines, and installing hand hygiene signs, that Burbank can and will stay ahead of the Hepatitis A
  • 48. Analysis Of Blade Runner Blade Runner: what makes a Human? Blade Runner is a 1982 film directed by Ridley Scott. It is a loose adaptation of Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? written by Philip K. Dick. It has spawned a loyal following of fans and is seen as a cult classic by many people. The film has inspired a lot of popular culture in movies, anime and video games (Hills, 2011). The films cult popularity is so great that it even received theatrical rereleases with additional scenes in 1992 ( Director s Cut ), 2007 ( Final Cut ) and a sequel in 2017. The academic side of the film industry has given plenty of attention to this film too. There are hundreds of articles written about it. For instance, a few articles in the Alien Zone (Kuhn ed., 1990) mentioned this famous film and base their arguments on it. And there are certainly reasons why. Blade Runner touches upon a variety of interesting subject and exhibits rich metaphors and symbolism. The most engaging subject of the film, for me at least, seems to be the question of how human are replicants. One of the best examples discussing this question is the scene in which Rick Deckard meats Rachael and administers to her a Voight Kampff Test. The Final Cut version of the film will be used in this analysis. The scene is set after Deckard has been given the case of the rogue replicants. His Boss suggests visiting the Tyrell Corporation to learn if Voight Kampff test will work on the hunted replicants as this is the organization that builds the
