Managing the Quality of Chromium Sulphate during the Recycling From Tanning W...INFOGAIN PUBLICATION
Quality management is a big issue during recovery and recycling process because if desired quality is not received during chromium recovery or recycling process, we may be faced another problem of recycled materials. This also seen that most important that the production processes is useless without taking specific required quality of chromium., in real way about 60%-70% of chromium salt is used as chemical interaction with the hides but 30%-40% of chemical chromium salt is wasted as the solid and liquid form. Therefore, the quality during the recovery process of the chromium sulphate from chromium wastewater that is most important step for controlling environmental pollution with some economical benefits. Recycling of chromium sulphate is possible by using chemical precipitation method for water treatment, two precipitating agents’ magnesium oxide and calcium hydroxide plus alum are used for this purpose. Final findings showed that the optimum pH for efficient recovery with required quality was 8 and the Recycling of chromium sulphate was about 99(%) at pH 8 with good sludge with high settling rate. on the Base of these findings an economical production plant can be designed which are useful for quality improvement.

UNDERSTANDING WHAT GREEN WASHING IS!.pdfJulietMogola
Many companies today use green washing to lure the public into thinking they are conserving the environment but in real sense they are doing more harm. There have been such several cases from very big companies here in Kenya and also globally. This ranges from various sectors from manufacturing and goes to consumer products. Educating people on greenwashing will enable people to make better choices based on their analysis and not on what they see on marketing sites.

Diabetes is a rapidly and serious health problem in Pakistan. This chronic condition is associated with serious long-term complications, including higher risk of heart disease and stroke. Aggressive treatment of hypertension and hyperlipideamia can result in a substantial reduction in cardiovascular events in patients with diabetes 1. Consequently pharmacist-led diabetes cardiovascular risk (DCVR) clinics have been established in both primary and secondary care sites in NHS Lothian during the past five years. An audit of the pharmaceutical care delivery at the clinics was conducted in order to evaluate practice and to standardize the pharmacists’ documentation of outcomes. Pharmaceutical care issues (PCI) and patient details were collected both prospectively and retrospectively from three DCVR clinics. The PCI`s were categorized according to a triangularised system consisting of multiple categories. These were ‘checks’, ‘changes’ (‘change in drug therapy process’ and ‘change in drug therapy’), ‘drug therapy problems’ and ‘quality assurance descriptors’ (‘timer perspective’ and ‘degree of change’). A verified medication assessment tool (MAT) for patients with chronic cardiovascular disease was applied to the patients from one of the clinics. The tool was used to quantify PCI`s and pharmacist actions that were centered on implementing or enforcing clinical guideline standards. A database was developed to be used as an assessment tool and to standardize the documentation of achievement of outcomes. Feedback on the audit of the pharmaceutical care delivery and the database was received from the DCVR clinic pharmacist at a focus group meeting.
Micro RNA genes and their likely influence in rice (Oryza sativa L.) dynamic ...Open Access Research Paper
Micro RNAs (miRNAs) are small non-coding RNAs molecules having approximately 18-25 nucleotides, they are present in both plants and animals genomes. MiRNAs have diverse spatial expression patterns and regulate various developmental metabolisms, stress responses and other physiological processes. The dynamic gene expression playing major roles in phenotypic differences in organisms are believed to be controlled by miRNAs. Mutations in regions of regulatory factors, such as miRNA genes or transcription factors (TF) necessitated by dynamic environmental factors or pathogen infections, have tremendous effects on structure and expression of genes. The resultant novel gene products presents potential explanations for constant evolving desirable traits that have long been bred using conventional means, biotechnology or genetic engineering. Rice grain quality, yield, disease tolerance, climate-resilience and palatability properties are not exceptional to miRN Asmutations effects. There are new insights courtesy of high-throughput sequencing and improved proteomic techniques that organisms’ complexity and adaptations are highly contributed by miRNAs containing regulatory networks. This article aims to expound on how rice miRNAs could be driving evolution of traits and highlight the latest miRNA research progress. Moreover, the review accentuates miRNAs grey areas to be addressed and gives recommendations for further studies.

Conclusion
3. Introduction
The main purpose of CETP is to reduce the treatment cost of
effluent, release by group of Industries and easy monitoring.
The concept of Common Effluent Treatment Plant is to treat
the same type of effluent generate from cluster of industries.
It’s effective method to achieve the standard parameters (pH
BOD, COD, TSS, TDS and O&G) to improve the quality of
effluent.
4. Objective
Objective of CETP is to collect the effluent, treat using
physical, chemical and biological methods then discharge
in separate draining system or reuse.
5. Type of Effluent- (Industry Introduction)
Tanning is the process where is Leather processed using
hide of Animals.
Tannery are the pollution intensive industries which
generate high strength waste water contain hazardous
pollutant like heavy metals, Toxic chemicals, chloride,
Lime, Organic waste and others.
6. Desalting: Removal of salt
Soaking: Hide are soaked in clean water for moisture and
remove salt
Liming: For Unhairing, Removal of Blood and Mucous
Deliming: Removal of Lime & some remaining hairs
Pickling: For maintain the pH
Chrome Tanning: For tanning or For preparing Wet blue
Re-chroming: If improper chroming
Fat Liquoring: For moisture and softness
Neutralize: To adjust pH 4.5-6.5
Dyeing: Dye using desired color
In Tannery Leather is processed using various steps -
8. Treatment of Effluent generate from
Tannery Industry:
Generally CETP’s treat the effluent generated by member
industries after their primary treatment.
So industries have their own primary effluent treatment
Plant and Chrome Recovery Plant.
10. Chrome Tanning
Basic Chromium Sulfate are use in chrome tanning of
leather. It stabilize the leather by cross linking the collagen
fibers.
Chrome tanned hide are blue so its called wet blue.
Chrome tanning is faster than vegetable tanning and
build stretchable leather.
Tanning provide a surface area to Raw hide for other
reaction.
After complete the process chrome should be recover if
remain then it form harmful chromium.

12. Description of chrome recovery plant:
Spent Chrome liquor store in collection tank which pH
approx 4-5.
Reaction Tank- In this introduce the effluent and
increase the pH up to 7-8 using Magnesium oxide
dosing for reaction. MgO also sediment the chrome.
Chrome recovery tank- In this precipitated chrome store
and dosing of conc. H2SO4 to minimize pH 2-3.
13. CETP ( Common Effluent Treatment Plant)
This Plant Designed for collection and treatment of effluent
from tannery industries.
In tanneries the effluent release after primary treatment and
Chrome Recovery because tanneries produce highly polluted
effluent which contain toxic chemicals (chrome) and other
waste which is hazardous for the environment.
15. Description of ETP process-
Primary Treatment:
Screen- Screens are use for removal of floating matter from
effluent in primary treatment.
Oil & Grease- Designed for removal of oil and Grease
floating on a liquid surface.
Equalization tank- Its main function is to act as buffer
(resist change in pH) and make effluent homogeneous by
mixing.
16. Secondary treatment:
Clarifier- Settling of suspended solids is done using gravity
in clarifier.
Aeration- Air provide to effluent for bacterial growth to
degrade the organic waste and sediment in clarifier.
Balance Tank- Minimize the fluctuation of effluent and
ready for filter.
17. PSF (Pressure Sand Filter)
Work on principle Porosity which remove suspended solids
Reduced BOD & COD 5-8%
ACF (Activated Carbon Filter)
Work on Principle of Catenation (Bonding of atoms).
Carbon adsorb atoms like nitrogen, ammonia, hydrogen and
other present in effluent.
Purpose is to Remove Color and odor
BOD & COD reduced 10-13.5%
Tertiary Treatment based on Filter:
19. For installing 100 KLD Plant :
Retention Time (RT): Time taken to complete a process
Hydraulic Retention Time ( HRT): The time required to be
perform the reaction in tank.
Rate of Aeration = 0.75 × Plant Capacity
= 0.75 × 100
= 100 m3/ hrs.
Tank capacity = (Plant capacity / RT) × HRT
= (100/ 12) ×8
= 133.33 m3
22. Application of CETP for Tanneries
Cost effective for the industry
Combined effluent from all tanneries are brought at a
place to better treatment
Easily control the Pollution
Easy monitoring for tanneries
23. Conclusion
Above study conclude that CETP is better option to reduce
the pollution from group of industries where same product
are produce from all industry at a specified place. This
Method is adopted by the government pollution control
board for easily achieve the Standard parameter of treated
effluent like pH, TSS, TDS, COD, BOD and others. And
then allow to discharge in the environment and reuse for
industrial purpose.
