Korean Culture And Asian Culture
Over the past three or four years I ve been really interested in the Asian culture with the TV that they
watch or just their everyday lives. Of course, this all starts with a small thing and that was interpreting.
When i was twelve i was interesting in sign language from the show Switched at Birth. For the rest of
that year i decided i would interpret that; at twelve i already what to do with my life. About a year
later i was showed an anime show called Fairy Tail. This is what you could say broadened my
horizons in languages. Then i started getting into their music this somehow lead me to jumping to the
Korean music. Korea doesn t have anime but it does have K Pop music leading me to like the Korean
culture. Having this curiosity about those countries i could go and see them.
To start this journey of traveling to japan it would take a lot of time and money. Also, a place to say
which was amazing since my Aunt is stationed there for her job on base. All that i had to cover was
finishing my school a hole month earlier; which i could do with being in cyber you could finish
however early you desired. Also, a conflict that i had to deal with was money, I had to work in extra
things at home and help mom around the house to get paid a small amount over time. Also, i had to
give up multiple presents to just ask for money to put in the savings. I had to spend every weekend
working either on school or saving money but mostly school since that was the main thing i needed to

Comparing Frankenstein And Trayvon Martin
Society s perception of others starts first with appearance which brings about isolation and racism
against others appearing abnormal. This has been a recurring problem in the world for several
centuries because people wrongfully judge values on looks. In real life minorities are perceived as
criminals and in Gulliver s Travels, Gulliver is immediately seen as a threat because of his physical
advantage. The main characters in Frankenstein, Gulliver s Travels, and Trayvon Martin in What
happened the night Trayvon Martin died were persecuted because of how they seemed or looked on
the outside. In these works individuals are othered which led to them being emotionally and physically
harmed. In Shelley s Frankenstein, the creature was othered to the point that he resorted to violence.
When the creature first encounters human beings they react with disturbance and exclusion which
leads to his isolation. The creature recounts his story saying, I had hardly placed my foot within the
door, before the children shrieked, and one of the women fainted (93). This quote shows how the
Creature wants to be accepted into society, but ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is important that the fictional stories address exclusion because it is still relevant today with
situations such as Trayvon Martin. Ostracizing others as monsters or criminals because they do not
look normal is saddenning and ridiculous because it creates a divide in any population. Authors
understand that this is not only for fictional characters and mythical creatures, but it is also a symbol
for the people who are considered different in their area because of their appearance. All of these
stories can relate because each person or creature is being isolated as a subject of othering or
judgement that is based off their

Business Study Of KFC In The Fast Food Industry
Simone Govender Gr:12.2
Business Studies: Fast Food Industry
KFC is the fast food franchise of my choice, it is well known for its Finger Licken Good chicken food
products that attract a wide target market across South Africa and many other countries. Its well
known brand is marketed well through television, radio, billboard advertisements and many more, but
what actually attracts the customers is the original taste and variation of chicken pieces served at all
these KFC franchises. Not only, is KFC tending to the needs of the stakeholders, but it has also been
paying close attention to corporate social responsibility in the community, through its Add Hope
campaign. Thus making it a worthy franchise to support, however there are many struggles ... Show

In 2009, the Sunday Times (of SA) Top Brands Awards addressed KFC in being the most dominant
restaurant brand, overtaking other South African and international brands. KFC was also the only fast
food franchise to place in the Top 10 list of brands throughout all the industries. KFC in 2014 won a
number of awards from Marketing Excellence Awards and Loyalty Engagement Awards in Singapore.
KFC won Gold for Excellence in Consumer Insights/market Research, and Silver for Excellence in
Direct Marketing category at the Marketing Excellence Awards. KFC also won Silver for Best CRM
Strategy, and Silver for Best Use of Consumer Insights Analytics at the Loyalty Engagement Awards.

Goals And Characteristics Of A Crime Investigation
examples of such detectives are Sherlock Holmes with his assistant Dr Watson and our own Indian
private investigator Pradosh Chandra Mitter or simply Feluda with his assistant cousin Topshe. There
is no case on earth for them which is unsolvable and they are never defeated except Sherlock Holmes
who was defeated by a lady in the story The Scandal of Bohemia . They are very well aware and are
thorough of their approach and their cases involve little or no violence at all. Thus these fictional
detectives stand out in achieving their goals and objectives.
FUNCTIONS AND CHARACHTERSTICS OF A CRIME INVESTIGATOR
A crime investigation can be considered more effective and complete if the investigator is experienced
and has suitable knowledge of science and techniques and has a thorough understanding of his
profession. As stated earlier, each crime is unique in itself ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As these investigations involve adventure, thrill, suspense etc. many writers took this topic and began
writing a new genre called the crime fiction. The stories of crime fiction include real life cases, murder
thrillers, clue puzzle stories etc. The first work of this genre was Moll Flanders which was a novel by
Daniel Defoe which was published in 1722. The stories caught up with the readers as it gave them a
chance to use their own brain and imagination hereby involving themselves completely with the
stories. This genre grew popular and in the later years many writers began writing detective and crime
stories. Prominent writers of this genre were Emilie Gaboriau, Gaston Leroux, Maurice Leblanc etc.

Transformation of Humphrey Van Weyden in Jack London’s...
Transformation of Humphrey Van Weyden in Jack London s The Sea Wolf
Jack London s The Sea Wolf is in some ways a philosophical text and a product of its time. The strain
it puts on the reader between a social Darwinist and utilitarian perspective against that of a more
idealistic one is great. Many times the character of Wolf Larsen is a more consistent articulator of the
Darwinian position and seems to always be getting the upper hand argumentatively. However, it is due
to a phenomenological outlook on the events presented within The Sea Wolf that the alternative
becomes intelligible. After all, the endeavor to improve is one thing which identifies us as human. The
understanding of what constitutes this improvement varies, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Thus, since both the protagonist and the antagonist of this story read in order to educate themselves,
they both demonstrate a desire toward self betterment.
Yet the two character s understanding of what this self betterment is supposed to be is poles apart.
Where Wolf s view is purely materialistic and Darwinian, Hump s position is, at least initially, entirely
idealistic and metaphysical. And in the outset, each can only see the possibility of their own position,
discounting the other s. Hump confesses in his thoughts, how could I explain my idealism to this man?
How could I put into speech a something felt, a something like the strains of music heard in sleep, a
something that convinced yet transcended utterance? (35). Yet Wolf remains unshaken from beginning
to end. I believe that life is a mess ...It is like yeast, a ferment, a thing that moves and may move for a
minute, an hour, a year, or a hundred years, but that in the end will cease to move. The big eat the little
that they may continue to move, the strong eat the weak that they may retain their strength. The lucky
eat the most and move the longest, that is all, (35). This contrast endures throughout the entire novel,
and even in the end Wolf utters his last word as BOSH! So, once again, Wolf and Hump hold two
entirely different and very singular

The client is a young, White American, Christian, male. He most likely come from lower middle class
(currently unemployed and used to work in a local furniture store). He is a single man, but his sexual
orientation, romantic and sexual relationships are not mentioned in the report. Considering his
particular cultural elements, he is in advantageous situation in some part such as, ethnicity, sex,
religion and age. Thus, he is not likely to feel extra oppression due to his metal health and alcohol use
problems. However, his comes from low SES and has a mental disability (therefore, he become
eligible to Medicare), these probably negatively influence his mental health progression. For example,
he is not able to access his former psychiatrist due to his current insurance. When it comes to his
spirituality, even though his father is a religious man, the client does not seem to be interested in
spiritual issues. However, his father s strong spirituality would be beneficial for both. Since, the client
s father, as a main social support source, his mental and physical health is also vital for Tom. In fact,
his father plays a critical role in Tom s life.
Conceptualization
The client has two equally important mental health problems, which are schizophrenia and alcohol use

Loneliness And Isolation In The Painted Door By Sinclair Ross
The feeling of not belonging, of being unwanted, or being judge is a very common thing that occurs
too many individuals. The feelings of isolation and alienation can be frustrating, dangerous and
eventually push a character to it their extremes. In the short story The Painted Door by Sinclair Ross,
the main character Ann feels alone and isolated for many reasons. From the beginning of the story the
theme of loneliness and alienation occurs almost immediately. Ann is not pleased with her life, she
feels not only isolation emotionally but physically. She and her husband John live in the middle of
nowhere, far away from company and populated settlements. The remote surrounding in which they
live creates a feeling of extreme isolation, especially after previously living in a city, Even the distant
farmsteads she could see served only to intensify a sense of isolation( Ross 9). John is a simple farmer
who thinks the only way he can please and show his love to his wife, Ann, is by working all day to

John does not pay enough attention to Ann, and therefore creates a weak relationship, I know. It s just
that sometimes when you re away I get lonely (Ross 14). The lack of communication between Ann
and John, and not expressing their feelings to one another is the main reason that Ann feels this
emptiness inside her, and in a way alienate herself as well as John alienates her. This causes for Ann to
sleep with Steven, and John witnessing what happen between with Ann and Steve, which ends with
John dieing in the storm that was occurring outside .During the short story the reader clearly sees that
Ann feels abandoned by John, She began to think about it now. Thoughts that outstripped her words,
that left her alone again with herself and the ever lurking silence (Ross 30). and as the reader I can
connect to the character. I remember when I first got here from Mexico. I was five years old, and I was

Personal Expectations In Great Expectations
It s a terrible, Joe; it ain t true... I don t know what possessed me, Joe... but I wish you hadn t taught
me to call knaves at cards jacks, and I wish my boots weren t so thick nor my hands so coarse
(Dickens 694). COMMENTS: Throughout this entire scene, Pip explains to Joe why he lied to Mrs.
Joe and Mr. Pumblechook. In this part, Pip feels terrible about his common life and wish he had a
greater one. This is a defining and moment in Pip s life because until now Pip thought his life would
amount to nothing. Then, Joe explains he is extraordinary and Pip believes it, and thrives to do better
in the next chapter. He stirred his rum and water pointedly at me, and he tasted his rum and water
pointedly at me not with a spoon that was brought to him, but with a file... I knew it was Joe s file
(Dickens 697). CONFUSING: During this part of the chapter, the stranger sits and drinks with Pip and
Joe. While this goes on the stranger pulls out the file Pip stole from Joe and gave to the convict. While
at first, this seems bold and unnerving. Then, it begins to stir up a few questions. Why did the stranger
have the file, when Pip gave the file to the convict he ran off a few minutes later to catch the second
convict. So this part was confusing, when did the first convict ever get the chance to talk to the
stranger, let alone give him Joe s stolen file. His head was all on one side, and one of his eyes was half
shut, as if he were taking aim at something with an invisible gun

Jane Eyre And Bertha
Look at the difference! Mr. Rochester urges Mr. Woods and Mr. Briggs to compare Jane Eyre s clear
eyes and face with Bertha Mason s red balls and mask (p. 311). It is obvious that Rochester s
comments on his new lover are a lot more positive than those on his first wife. From his point of view,
Jane is a pure angel whereas Bertha is a raging beast. Rochester further overstates the contrast
between Bertha and Jane by dehumanizing the former into a demon and bulk while giving the latter
human characteristics and form (p. 311). Nevertheless, Rochester overlooks the connection between
the two women who marry him in succession. Bertha, the most enigmatic and problematic character in

Osama Bin Laden Beliefs
Growing up on the Red Sea littoral, American ideas and culture were never far away from me.
However when I moved to the U.S. in the eighth grade I was shocked that my peers laughed and
antagonized my religious culture. Therefore, if I had converse with one person it would be the
orchestrator of the terrible September 11th terrorist attacks.
Osama Bin Laden is the reason for the misconstrued view of Islam that is currently seen in the world.
In my opinion the origin of Bin Laden is similar to a prominent religious figure in that of the Buddha.
Both came from affluent lives, but abandoned it all for their beliefs. However Bin Laden spread the
doctrine of negativity, and even worse a false ideal. An ideal that has sadly influenced many other
radicals such as Boko Haram, Isis, Taliban, and more.
Islam is a very peaceful religion, and it s where I ve learned to become the most humane version of

How Does Amenabar Create Suspense
The others directed by, Alejandro Amenabar is a haunted house themed ghost story, which creates a
thrilling atmosphere as Amenabar emphasizes a combination of uncertainty, tension, suspense and
shock. Amenabar creates an atmosphere, which has the time and patience to generate a mood and
create mystery to the characters. The setting Amenabar has chosen is very cliché and fits into the
horror theme perfectly being a large house, which is trapped in fog. Amenabar also adds mystery to
the characters as the two children are extremely sensitive to light and can only confine in only the
dark. Amenabar let s the audiences use their imaginations to put the film together and make sense of
it, which is really what thriller/horror films need. Using different melodies and sound affects along
with different camera angles and viewpoints the opening scene of Grace screaming, the storage room
scene and the bedroom scene all support the evidence of atmosphere and suspense.

However the darkness creates doubt for the characters and the audience what they can see occurring.
Nervousness rises as the characters become more paranoid and suspicious of what they call the others

Nicholas are in twin beds sleeping, when Victor who is seemingly messing around with the curtains

What Would You Do?

Your board of directors wants to know: How should Cisco grow? Your response was, Well, the way
we ve grown in the past is. . . . No. That s not the question. Looking backward is easy. How should we
grow in the future? Should we build or buy? And with the next board meeting in only 3 months, you
don t have much time to come up with the answer. Cisco started in 1984 as the plumbers of the

Should we focus on products that businesses buy? After all, that s who we sell to now. Or, should we
take our expertise in routers and switches and focus on consumer products? Finally, while Cisco is
growing 15 percent per year, that s down significantly from the 40 percent growth that we ve had
since inception, save for 2001. So we need to identify high growth markets and products that we could
design and build.
If we grow by purchasing technology firms with already established products or services, should we
stick to our knitting by buying firms with products and services closely related to our existing
business? Or should we diversify by buying firms that are very different from our basic business,
routers and switches? For instance, Cisco has the opportunity to acquire a firm that specializes in
technology security (spam, viruses, malware, and other Internet threats), an area in which it has no
experience. What s more likely to work and be less risky, buying firms with similar products or
services (like Cisco s) or buying firms with different products or services? Basically, should Cisco
move beyond its core business? Finally, if we do decide to buy firms with already established products
or services, how can we make sure those acquisitions work? Study after study shows that most
mergers and acquisitions have no better than a 50 50 shot of working. In other words, buy another
firm, try to merge its products and services and culture and

The General Overhead And Construction Projects Essay
In the past, the general overhead in construction projects was not important compared to project costs.
However, with the new construction environment and its changes such as the high usage of lean, BIM,
and LEED, everything has changed. Nowadays, most of the construction contractors are measuring
their general overhead costs and trying to control it. To gain profits, they started to allocate their
general overhead costs to different construction projects they are working on. In this paper, we
investigate how a construction company (general contractor) manages its general overhead costs.
Preceding this stage, we should provide few definitions of the general overhead costs in order to give
readers a deep insight of what this paper is about. Moreover, it is essential to explain how construction
contractors allocate their general overhead costs to construction projects, what methods they tend to
use for allocating, and what advantages and disadvantages does every method have. Further, we shift
our focus to activity based costing method by defining it and describing its steps. Since the main
purpose of this paper is to examine how construction contractors deal with their general overhead
costs, an interview should be conducted to know how contractors allocate general overhead cost to
construction projects to get profits. Indeed, each construction contractor may use a specific method
when allocating. Due to our interest in estimating, the interview was conducted with a senior

Ideal Working Environment For Nurses
Tasha, You must have enjoyed working in your unit. I enjoyed reading your post about your
experience at work. What is more, you are fortunate that your manager is cognizant of safe staffing
and responsive to that need. From my working experience to multiple hospitals, every one of them
was exposed to the national patient safety goals (NPSG). Although the majority promotes the NPSG,
few consistently look after the staffing needs. Nickitas, Middaugh, and Aries (2016) attested to the
studies confirming fatigue and long hours of work attribute to inattention that leads to medical errors. I
believe this important factor on staffing issue may be related to the nursing shortages. To be able to

External Beauty In Toni Morrison s The Bluest Eye
A common misconception that only external looks dictate beauty has toggled with the minds of
millions of people. In today s era, social media has become a huge aspect of defining beauty. As
twenty first century social media might suggest, beautiful girls tend to be skinny, tan, long legged, and
white teethed. People begin to idolize these figures that they see on social media, and they
characterize beauty by these standards, even though it is fruitless to do so. This is also true in The
Bluest Eye as most all people in Lorain, Ohio in the 1940 s glorified white skin, blue eyes, and blonde
hair. People revered public figures like Shirley Temple, and conceived those without the
aforementioned attributes as ugly. Toni Morrison organizes the The Bluest Eye into seasonal chapters,
shifts to different perspectives throughout the novel, and includes the Dick and Jane epigraph to
illustrate the trivial ideal of external beauty that often dominates life. Morrison deliberately divides the
novel into seasons to foil the optimal expectations of those seasons and the bitter reality. On the
surface, new seasons represent new standards. For example, readers presume autumn to be a time of
harvest and preservation; however, in The Bluest Eye, autumn represents a time of destruction and
death. In autumn, Cholly and Mrs. Breedlove fought each other with a darkly brutal formalism
(Morrison 41), and their relationship continued in a downward spiral as Mrs. Breedlove beat Cholly

Forensic Nursing Research Paper
Forensic Nursing: A bridge between medicine and law Although there are a vast number of nurses in
the world, only a fraction of them are forensic nurses. Forensic nursing is a nursing field with sub
specialties that focus on nursing practices that care for victims of violent crimes, such as sexual
assault, at the clinical and legal level. Forensic nurses bring together medical practices and the justice
system in making sure that the evidence has not been unintentionally tainted. In a courtroom nothing
is more crucial than the evidence collected. If somehow that evidence got unintentionally tainted by
clinicians or medical examiners that could drastically change the results. Before forensic nursing came
along, there was no official way to stop ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One of the main reasons why there may not be more forensic nurses than there could be is that the
topic of forensic nursing is not one that someone thinks about when they think about nursing in
general. By protecting the evidence and serving as witnesses when needed forensic nurses truly serve
a major role in bringing together medicine and law to get justice for the victim. The
investigation...prior to surgical intervention or other life saving measures is essential to preserve the
image and description of injury before it is lost through a sea of wound cleansing antiseptic, insertion
of instruments or suturing, Lynch said (Waszak). It is important for both the clinicians and law
enforcement that the evidence does not become tainted or lost. . In addition to providing care, forensic
nurses act as multidisciplinary team members and work as consultants to other nursing and medical
professionals and law enforcement. They receive advanced training in collecting and preserving

Dance Philosophy
The question, why I dance, seems simple and obvious. My first thought is that I just dance, that s why.
Because there was never a day when I chose dance, it is just a part of me that has always been there.
My mother put me in dance classes when I was three years old to give me something to do while my
newborn brother got all of the attention. For as long as I can remember I was dancing. I thought that
dance was just what I did, but the truth is that no one is forcing me to dance. It would be more
accurate to say that I am forcing everyone else around me to let me dance. I choose walk myself to
dance when my parents will not drive me, and I choose to stay up until three a.m. going over every
correction given to me in every combination at ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
My beloved teacher taught us that it is okay if there is that one percent of the time where your feet so
desperately want to escape your pointe shoes, your legs are so sore that they can barely walk up the
stairs, your mind is so foggy after rehearsing your variation over and over upwards of 50 times during
the past 6 hours, and you still cannot manage to get the turn section at the end correct. You are allowed
to hate ballet for that one day as long as you wake up the next morning ready to go dance your heart
out and nail that turn section. All real dancers love dance most of the time. When I am feeling extra
stressed because I have a test in every subject at school the next day and three large projects to finish,
everyone around me tries to force me to stay home from dance. They do not understand that dance
class is the one way I can escape from my anxieties about school. Dance does not add to my stress, but
is the only way I can cope with it. It is impossible to be worried at dance because there are so many
things to be thinking about at the same time that there is no room to worry about anything else.
Dancers do not dance because we want to, but because we have to. Wherever we are, we find a way to
dance because it is a part of who we are. We are

Video Games And Its Effects
Are video games actually as evil as many make them out to be? Some recent studies show that this
may not be the case. Video games are a somewhat recently developed technology that was created
sometime around the 1950s and over time, games have become more and more sophisticated, leading
to new genres and purposes. In recent years, there have been major advances in not only how video
games are played, but also how popular they have come in our culture, becoming a part of almost
every young adult and child s daily activities. Contrary to what some people may believe, video games
are actually quite beneficial to brain development. Many studies have shown that people that play

One year my uncle bought me a game named Shadow of the Colossus. This game was completely
different from the other ones I played previously. In this game, the player starts out with the character
on a horse and his only weapon is a powerful sword, that when exposed to sunlight will lead the
player in the general direction of the next enemy. These enemies are giant, ancient creatures that roam
in various places around the world, each one having unique weaknesses and strengths. To find the
Colossus, the player had to ride across the landscape in solitude, identifying small clues that would
lead them to where the creature was hiding. Once the player arrived, they would have to evaluate the
situation and find its weaknesses. When the player decided that they were ready to attack something
unexpected always came up and made the situation even more difficult than expected resulting in
quick and accurate decision making. To me, this game is a prime example of how video games aid in
the development of the decision making process. Throughout this game players were presented with
problems that required them to think very critically in order to even finish the first battle. As the game
progresses the enemies only get harder and the solutions to the problems get harder as well. Attention
to detail in this game was very important. The more that this game was played, the more I started to
look into every possible approach and the very fine details. Games like

Analysis Of Orientation By Daniel Orozco
Whether or not a person has obtained a job, everyone has had a first day. In the short story Orientation
Daniel Orozco tells of the encounter of a new employee being given a tour of the business. This story
has a professional narration shining a light on the ruled based environment the employee is entering.
The tour does not only entail the ordinary findings in an office, but it comes with gritty details of the
other employee s personal lives. Orozco uses setting, characterization, and point of view to show how
an authoritarianism styled workplace can cause a lack of individuality that would make an employee
want to engage in the rumor mill. Daniel establishes the setting throughout the story as being in an
office. He gives that indication with his first sentence being, Those are the offices and these are the
cubicles. (1). As the story goes on he is telling the reader where things are located in the office by
saying, This is the fire exit. and also, This is our kitchenette. (2). Along with the location of things
comes rules attached, If you make an emergency phone call without asking, you may be let go. Feel
free to ask questions. Ask too many questions, however, and you may be let go. (1). Most notably the
mundane setting of the office changes when he takes the reader to the copier room. Orozco tells how
the southwest view overlooks the park, and you can see the bay and sunset. He quickly makes it
known that this view will only be enjoyed while photocopying. Putting strict limitations on a person
can inevitably cause them to seek validation and self expression in other avenues. Daniel Orozco s use
of characterization should not go unnoticed. He carefully builds each characters background and
personality in a way to capture the reader s attention. The person in charge of the tour is never
explicitly identified, and the main source of identification is in the line If you can t find them, feel free
to ask me. That s my cubicle. I sit in there. (4). As the orientation goes on, each employee is
referenced by their first and last name followed by a story of who they are and where you can find
them. He details their personal lives that some may see as secrets. The most grisly being

Reflection About The Taz Prayer
At the Taizé prayer, the place with the altar and candles was inviting; first the silence for about 10
minutes, then the music played, followed by long pauses for praying and reading the scriptures
together. The prayer around the Jesus cross statue in the center was about to begin when a person
placed the cross on the ground and next to the cross a pillow for people to kneel and express their
burdens. After about ten minutes, the prayer around the cross continued, but this time the cross statue
was moved to a table. People freely approached the cross statue at the table and placed their heads on
it or kissed the cross. After a few more prayers were said aloud, then the altogether final prayer
followed by a song was the end of the prayer. From this opportunity of praying in a group, I learned
about the gifts and challenges of prayer while reflecting in silence and listening to the meditative
music.
The Taizé prayer is an opportunity to reflect on your day or your life and pray with others together.
This was my first time in a Taizé prayer, I have never heard about it before this class. The prayer is
centered on a worship group that between silence, songs, prayers, and bible readings, people stand up
to acknowledge the cross statue in the center by kneeling in front or kissing the statue. You are not
alone, you spend the hour with people of different churches or religious beliefs either in silence,
singing, praying and worshipping.

The book lies in the revelation of those moral, personal, and political instincts that helped make up his
character along with his support of being a literary genius. Oliver Twist is by far the most depressing
of all the books Dickens has wrote. Although the novels ugliness gives the novel a taste of honesty to
give it a spontaneous and splendid output. Dickens had readers laughing with his first great story
Pickwick and then having Oliver Twist as his encore of his novels. Although Dickens did have this
other kind of energy which was horrible, uncanny, and barbaric. Dickens liked this energy and using it
in his work most the time. Dickens is close to all the permanent human things and religion. He is
allied to the people of the real poor, who love nothing so much as to talk about funerals and drinking a
cheerful glass. His gloom and gaiety are the mark of religion and democracy and a mark him off from
the moderate happiness of philosophers. Which created stoicism which is the virtue and the creed of
aristocrats. In March 1832, Dickens became a journalist and after serving on two newspapers and he

indisputable role HR can play as both a prime source of sustainable competitive advantage and a key

This presents an interesting dilemma: The asset which is most important is the least understood, least
prone to measurement, and, hence least susceptible to management. He goes on to commend the co
authors of The HR Scorecard for three specific contributions: their development of causal models
which illustrate the relationship of HR value drivers with business outcomes and thereby take the
Balanced Scorecard to the next level of sophistication; their research on the drivers of
highperformance organizations to provide a framework to decision makers with which to formulate
and implement strategies for human capital growth; and finally, their insights into the competencies
required by HR professionals, competencies which can enabler an organization to deliver on the
promise of its measurement system. In essence, the co authors of The HR Scorecard identify and
explain linkages indeed the interdependence between and among people, strategy, and performance.
Only by understanding these linkages and their independence can decision makers in any organization
(regardless of size or nature) accurately measure the nature, value, and impact of human capital on the
bottom line. Moreover, decision makers can then make much more accurate measurement of each

The Better Angels Of Our Nature
Today, in a social media ridden world where there s no communication gap, allows news from around
the world to be delivered to us in matter of seconds. Almost every day we hear about a shocking act of
violence, whether it s a terrorist bombing, a senseless rape or a gruesome murder. These tragedies
makes us wonder, What is the world coming to? However, we forget to realize that in fact today s
world is much more peaceful compared to how dangerous life was thousands of years ago. As pinker
stated, Brutality was once woven into the fabric of daily existence (2). Therefore, in order to
understand the violence we witness today, it s important to acknowledge how bad the world was in the
past. In this paper, just as pinker did in his book The Better Angels of our Nature , I will also argue
that violence has decreased tremendously over the centuries by using numerous evidence and
statistical data. The Pacification process, Civilizing process, and other sanctions throughout
millenniums are just some of the changes that resulted in the decline of violence throughout history.
In his book The Better Angels of our Nature , Pinker uses works from Homeric Greece, evidence from
The Old Testament, and early modern Europe to support his claim that after a millennia of bloody
violence, human kind is entering a peaceful existence. In order allow readers to understand the
violence we witness today, Pinker begins by examining the origins of violence; He uses Chimpanzees

Oil Sands
In this essay I will use the social issue of oil sands and its impact on climate change to critically
compare the social order and class struggle perspectives in social theory. To examine the social order
perspective, I will use the theories of Robert Merton and Harold Garfinkel. For the class perspective
theory, I will use the theories of Pierre Bourdieu and Immanuel Wallenstein. The social order
perspective explains the social issue of climate change in terms of how the social structures of the
economy enforce and produce the ways in which people discuss climate change. Its main strength is
that it identifies how the economy is able to shape discussions and create a sense of order around the
opposing conflict of interest between the economy ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Merton s theory derives from the fundamentalist perspective in which he defines manifest functions as
the easily recognizable and intended outcomes, whereas latent functions are unintended. Merton
argues the distinction between manifest and latent functions has significant value and that both
functions need to be recognized as an approach to explaining any social phenomena (Powell 2017:
Feb 15). Latent functions are not necessarily the anticipated outcome, however a closer examination
of this function can lead to a better understanding of a social relation or patterns observed (Longofer
Winchester, 2016). For instance, in applying the social issue of climate change to Merton s manifest
and latent theory, it is clear the manifest function of oil sands is for refineries to extract the oil to
produce fuel (energy source). As a result of increased reliance on oil sands as fuel, the process of
refining oil and clearing land to extract the oil from these oil sands, releases tons of pollution into the
atmosphere, creating the phenomena known as climate change. The perceived function of oil sands is
not to harmful to the environment, however; it becomes the negative consequence of the objective.
Although the manifest function does not recognize that the use of oil sands leads to an increased threat
of the environment, the latent function is able to identify the relationship. This latent function leads to
the reexamination of the use of oil sand and how our society collectively moves on about making
informed decisions regarding both the production and the rate at which we use

Deeper Than Words: Communication in A Thousand Years of Good Prayer, by Yiyun Li There are
those who have a difficult time expressing themselves with words. It is as though there is a

successful communication can be even harder if different languages are spoken. Even if there are no
words spoken, communication between two people still occurs. Yiyun Li s short story A Thousand

One of the basic human needs is shelter. While many people take having a roof over their head for
granted, there is a plethora of people that have no place to call home. However, America has become a
place where Social Darwinism is vastly accepted, leaving several people that are homeless with

Homelessness has no age limit. Nearly one quarter (23 percent or 138,149) of all homeless people
were children, under the age of 18. Ten percent (or 61,541) were between the ages of 18 and 24, and
67 percent (or 410,352) were 25 years or older (Cortes et al., 2013 p.6).
This shows how the problem affects every cohort and it s sad that children have the highest rate of
homelessness. Many people tend to blame the homeless person for making the wrong decisions in
their youth. However, the youth have the highest rate of homelessness and they haven t even had the
chance to make some of those decisions. 20% of homeless youth are LGBT, mostly due to severe
family conflict
They are the most vulnerable along with older people and being older increased the risk of
experiencing a violent attack (Meinbresse et al., 2014). In addition, the veterans that risk their life for
the American system make up a certain percentage of homeless people. According to The Department
of Housing and Urban Development, there were 57,849 homeless veterans on a single night in January
2013. Sixty percent were located in shelters or transitional housing programs, and 40 percent were in
unsheltered locations. Just under 8 percent (4,456) were female (Cortes et al., 2013). Many of them

of learners and each student has an individual methods of learning. The role of the teacher is to verify
each students learning is being meet. Individualizing a lesson by making accommodiations or
modification for them to learn the curriculum. Implementing evidence based practice is using an
educational method of learning that will support the students learning based on previous research that
has been completed. Using evidence based practice in a special education classroom is a key
component when a student or students need an intervention to support them in the academic area they
are struggling. Special education teachers are responsible of meeting best practice standards to ***

Immigration And Immigrants In Australia
Immigration can be defined as the action of individuals coming to live permanently or for a period in
another country. With a forecasted population of 40 million by 2050 in Australia, the population
growth in Australia remains at a steady rate of 1.6%. According to the Bureau of Statistics, each year,
Australia s population increases about 350,000 where 190,000 of them are immigrants.
Australia is the currently ranked first amongst the major developed countries for its rapidly increasing
population growth rate. Since 1851, when the discovery of gold was found in Bathurst, NSW, a
significant number of continental Europeans, North Americans and Chinese migrated to Australia with
the hope of making a fortune. Moreover, during the second half of the nineteenth century, the
Australian government decided to subsidise migration to increase the immigration of Europeans to
Australia. With the White Australian Policy in place, in 1938, the Australian Government agreed to
accept 15,000 Jewish refugees, as a large proportion of the Jewish community were seeking to leave
Germany and Austria due to the forced removal of Jews, The Nazi policy of Judenrein. The White
Australia Policy began to be abandoned in 1966, under Prime Minister Harold Holt. The last reside of
the system was finally abolished in 1973 under the Government of Gough Whitlam.
Then, in the mid 1940s up to about 1964, during the period of World War II, there was a period of a
noticeable growth in birth rate, known as the baby boomers generation. In this era, these boomers
grew up at a time of dramatic social change, where the Australian economy had an unemployment rate
of 2% due to the free tertiary education.
Furthermore, during the 1970s and 1980s, around 120,000 southern Asian refugees migrated to
Australia, transforming Australia into a multicultural nation. As of this period, immigration to
Australia in the late twentieth century was influenced by a number of world events, including ( the fall
of Saigon in 1975 ; the fall of East Timor to Indonesian s troops in 1975; dictatorships in South
America and the Lebanese Civil War of 1975 1990. At that time, in 1977, 20% of the Australian
population was born overseas. In the 1990s, the

NASA ( GRC ) Collaborative Modeling For Parametric...
In order to meet the 2029 deadline and reduce costs, this design will use primarily synergistic
applications of NASA s planned current investments. Additional propulsion stages may be required to
decrease the time to Mars as to keep mission costs low and to make the crew not have too much
exposure to radiation. Similarly, advanced physics and thermodynamics are unknown in the time of
writing this and could potentially allow design flaws from the future design proposal.
To remain conservative, Glenn Research Center (GRC) Collaborative Modeling for Parametric
Assessment of Space Systems (COMPASS) had chosen the first of two designs as it was the wider and

It was previously stated that solar electric propulsion provides such high fuel economy that it reduces
the amount of propellant required onboard vehicles for deep space missions by as much as 90 percent
18. With this statement, alternate ions and configurations have been extensively researched and
compared to find the best alternative solution.
One alternative possibility that could be strong considered is Pulsed Lorentz Force Acceleration
(PLFA). As a part of this propulsion there is a Lithium Lorentz Force Accelerator (LiLFA) Thruster,
which has been proven by research with a power of 500kW to generate a specific impulse (I_sp) of
4000 and an efficiency of 60%18, 19. These characteristics were recorded and demonstrated by V. P.
Ageyev, V. G. Ostrovsky, and V. A. Petrosov with the LiLFA engine operating in this mode
uninterruptedly about 500 hours 20 in Russia in 1993. NASA has concurred similar characteristics of
Pulsed Lorentz Force Acceleration (PLFA) propulsion system which is described to combine design
elements of the Lithium Lorentz Force Accelerator 21 in addition to quasi steady
Magnetoplasmadynamic thrusters and pulsed plasma thrusters. In the same article, the PLFA is
described to achieve a specific impulse of 4800, an efficiency of 60%, max power of 12.5 kW, and a
max thrust of 365 mN21. This thruster uses less power than the Xenon thruster in

India was the world s largest country in the beginning and was accounted for about 32.9% of world
GDP and about 17% of bout world population. The goods produced in India exported to different
destinations across the world; the concept of globalization is new to India. In 1991, in economic
reforms, India became fastest growing major economies and considered as newly industrialized
country. It faces the challenges like poverty, corruption, malnutrition and insufficient healthcare. In
1991, balance of payment disaster forced India to liberalize its economy and it moved towards free
market system. India had to face many economic problems during 1990 1991 such as massive
deficiency in foreign trade balance, decreasing of foreign exchange stock, suffering from increase in
inflation etc. Government of India introduced reforms to get relief from the economic problem. They
take three major initiatives generally abbreviated as LPG, i.e. Liberalization, Privatization and
Globalization. GLOBALIZATION Globalization means interaction of the domestic economy with the
rest of the world regarding to foreign investment, production, trade and financial matters.

Rap Music And Its Effects On Modern Music Industry
SOUTHERN RAP
Southern hip hop also referred to as southern rap originated from the southern cities like New Orleans,
Houston, Atlanta, Miami, Memphis, and Virginia Beach, just like the names implies. Rap music has
transformed modern music greatly during the decade of 1997 and 2007 (Dyson 61). The decade has
seen the southern artists rise to both national and international prominence. The southern cities have
churned up modern rap artists like Dwayne Michael (Lil Wayne), Clifford Joseph (T.I) and many
others .This papers aims to examine various artists, music and scholarly articles in analyzing rap
music in southern cities and its effects on modern music industry.

The understanding of the idea of the Dirty South and southern rap in general has found the articulation
in stereotypes of the south: the emergence of the idea represented a shift in already established
geographical imaginary of hip hop music which is bombarded with authenticity and marketability
claims (59). Before the idea, southern cities were not completely excluded from rap, but they were
obliged to stick to certain styles and conceptual limits so as to reach a wider music authenticity for
their own economic prosperity (63).
The period of Dirty south saw a substantial growth of major rap label investment in particular the
southern cities (Taylor Virgil 251). Research studies have remarked the dirt south phenomenon as
contradictory and paradoxical about its music and place (251). For some scholars, the stylistic
distinctions between the produced music in different geographical areas are not avoidable to the shifts
in economical and political context (Dyson 64). The connections between styles of music and its
origin appear to be more organic because of the ways in which they are layered; the styles and origin
makes meaning through repetition and establishment of implicit and explicit links (66).
Since the emergence of Bronx in 1970s, rap industry has centrally focused with place based industries.
Geography has played an important role in conception of authenticating the characterization of rap

Water Supply In California
The second largest consumer of California water is public supply. Public supply has to do with both
public and private water suppliers, which provide water to others. Public supply water usages would
have to deal with domestic, commercial, industrial purposes, and public serves such as pool, parks,
firefighting, etc. Public water supply plays a huge role in many counties, and communities. The reason
why is because the public water supply systems that are located in these counties/communities are
government or facilities that are privately run. These public water supply systems are what provides

But humans are not the only species that need water. Animals and plants need water as well and
without it there would be nothing to live off and everything and everyone will just fade away. In
California, water is used mostly every day and it has to start when someone starts there day. According
to Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), stated that the average American family uses more than
300 gallons of water per day . This means that an average household would contain at least three
people, that max would be four. If one average family uses up to 300 gallons a day. Then who can
imagine how many other average families use 300 or more gallons of water per day. But this only
includes the amount of water that is used inside the house and does not include the amount of water
used outdoors. Outdoors water usage is only 30 % of the household use while the other 70 % is
indoors. Outdoor water usage may include watering lawns, flowers, washing cars, kidding pools or

  • 2. Korean Culture And Asian Culture Over the past three or four years I ve been really interested in the Asian culture with the TV that they watch or just their everyday lives. Of course, this all starts with a small thing and that was interpreting. When i was twelve i was interesting in sign language from the show Switched at Birth. For the rest of that year i decided i would interpret that; at twelve i already what to do with my life. About a year later i was showed an anime show called Fairy Tail. This is what you could say broadened my horizons in languages. Then i started getting into their music this somehow lead me to jumping to the Korean music. Korea doesn t have anime but it does have K Pop music leading me to like the Korean culture. Having this curiosity about those countries i could go and see them. To start this journey of traveling to japan it would take a lot of time and money. Also, a place to say which was amazing since my Aunt is stationed there for her job on base. All that i had to cover was finishing my school a hole month earlier; which i could do with being in cyber you could finish however early you desired. Also, a conflict that i had to deal with was money, I had to work in extra things at home and help mom around the house to get paid a small amount over time. • 3. Comparing Frankenstein And Trayvon Martin Society s perception of others starts first with appearance which brings about isolation and racism against others appearing abnormal. This has been a recurring problem in the world for several centuries because people wrongfully judge values on looks. In real life minorities are perceived as criminals and in Gulliver s Travels, Gulliver is immediately seen as a threat because of his physical advantage. The main characters in Frankenstein, Gulliver s Travels, and Trayvon Martin in What happened the night Trayvon Martin died were persecuted because of how they seemed or looked on the outside. In these works individuals are othered which led to them being emotionally and physically harmed. In Shelley s Frankenstein, the creature was othered to the point that he resorted to violence. When the creature first encounters human beings they react with disturbance and exclusion which leads to his isolation. The creature recounts his story saying, I had hardly placed my foot within the door, before the children shrieked, and one of the women fainted (93). Transformation of Humphrey Van Weyden in Jack London s The Sea Wolf Jack London s The Sea Wolf is in some ways a philosophical text and a product of its time. The strain it puts on the reader between a social Darwinist and utilitarian perspective against that of a more idealistic one is great. Many times the character of Wolf Larsen is a more consistent articulator of the Darwinian position and seems to always be getting the upper hand argumentatively. However, it is due to a phenomenological outlook on the events presented within The Sea Wolf that the alternative becomes intelligible. Thus, since both the protagonist and the antagonist of this story read in order to educate themselves, they both demonstrate a desire toward self betterment. Yet the two character s understanding of what this self betterment is supposed to be is poles apart. Where Wolf s view is purely materialistic and Darwinian, Hump s position is, at least initially, entirely idealistic and metaphysical. And in the outset, each can only see the possibility of their own position, discounting the other s. Hump confesses in his thoughts, how could I explain my idealism to this man? How could I put into speech a something felt, a something like the strains of music heard in sleep, a something that convinced yet transcended utterance? (35). Yet Wolf remains unshaken from beginning to end. I believe that life is a mess ...It is like yeast, a ferment, a thing that moves and may move for a minute, an hour, a year, or a hundred years, but that in the end will cease to move. The big eat the little that they may continue to move, the strong eat the weak that they may retain their strength. The lucky eat the most and move the longest, that is all, (35). • 23. External Beauty In Toni Morrison s The Bluest Eye A common misconception that only external looks dictate beauty has toggled with the minds of millions of people. In today s era, social media has become a huge aspect of defining beauty. As twenty first century social media might suggest, beautiful girls tend to be skinny, tan, long legged, and white teethed. People begin to idolize these figures that they see on social media, and they characterize beauty by these standards, even though it is fruitless to do so. This is also true in The Bluest Eye as most all people in Lorain, Ohio in the 1940 s glorified white skin, blue eyes, and blonde hair. People revered public figures like Shirley Temple, and conceived those without the aforementioned attributes as ugly. Toni Morrison organizes the The Bluest Eye into seasonal chapters, shifts to different perspectives throughout the novel, and includes the Dick and Jane epigraph to illustrate the trivial ideal of external beauty that often dominates life. Morrison deliberately divides the novel into seasons to foil the optimal expectations of those seasons and the bitter reality. On the surface, new seasons represent new standards. For example, readers presume autumn to be a time of harvest and preservation; however, in The Bluest Eye, autumn represents a time of destruction and death. Forensic nursing is a nursing field with sub specialties that focus on nursing practices that care for victims of violent crimes, such as sexual assault, at the clinical and legal level. Forensic nurses bring together medical practices and the justice system in making sure that the evidence has not been unintentionally tainted. In a courtroom nothing is more crucial than the evidence collected. If somehow that evidence got unintentionally tainted by clinicians or medical examiners that could drastically change the results. The investigation...prior to surgical intervention or other life saving measures is essential to preserve the image and description of injury before it is lost through a sea of wound cleansing antiseptic, insertion of instruments or suturing, Lynch said (Waszak). Because there was never a day when I chose dance, it is just a part of me that has always been there. My mother put me in dance classes when I was three years old to give me something to do while my newborn brother got all of the attention. For as long as I can remember I was dancing. I thought that dance was just what I did, but the truth is that no one is forcing me to dance. It would be more accurate to say that I am forcing everyone else around me to let me dance. You are allowed to hate ballet for that one day as long as you wake up the next morning ready to go dance your heart out and nail that turn section. All real dancers love dance most of the time. When I am feeling extra stressed because I have a test in every subject at school the next day and three large projects to finish, everyone around me tries to force me to stay home from dance. They do not understand that dance class is the one way I can escape from my anxieties about school. Dance does not add to my stress, but is the only way I can cope with it. It is impossible to be worried at dance because there are so many things to be thinking about at the same time that there is no room to worry about anything else. Video games are a somewhat recently developed technology that was created sometime around the 1950s and over time, games have become more and more sophisticated, leading to new genres and purposes. In recent years, there have been major advances in not only how video games are played, but also how popular they have come in our culture, becoming a part of almost every young adult and child s daily activities. One year my uncle bought me a game named Shadow of the Colossus. This game was completely different from the other ones I played previously. In this game, the player starts out with the character on a horse and his only weapon is a powerful sword, that when exposed to sunlight will lead the player in the general direction of the next enemy. These enemies are giant, ancient creatures that roam in various places around the world, each one having unique weaknesses and strengths. To find the Colossus, the player had to ride across the landscape in solitude, identifying small clues that would lead them to where the creature was hiding. Once the player arrived, they would have to evaluate the situation and find its weaknesses. When the player decided that they were ready to attack something unexpected always came up and made the situation even more difficult than expected resulting in quick and accurate decision making. To me, this game is a prime example of how video games aid in the development of the decision making process. Throughout this game players were presented with problems that required them to think very critically in order to even finish the first battle. As the game progresses the enemies only get harder and the solutions to the problems get harder as well. Attention to detail in this game was very important. • 27. Analysis Of Orientation By Daniel Orozco Whether or not a person has obtained a job, everyone has had a first day. In the short story Orientation Daniel Orozco tells of the encounter of a new employee being given a tour of the business. This story has a professional narration shining a light on the ruled based environment the employee is entering. The tour does not only entail the ordinary findings in an office, but it comes with gritty details of the other employee s personal lives. Orozco uses setting, characterization, and point of view to show how an authoritarianism styled workplace can cause a lack of individuality that would make an employee want to engage in the rumor mill. Daniel establishes the setting throughout the story as being in an office. He gives that indication with his first sentence being, Those are the offices and these are the cubicles. (1). As the story goes on he is telling the reader where things are located in the office by saying, This is the fire exit. and also, This is our kitchenette. (2). Along with the location of things comes rules attached, If you make an emergency phone call without asking, you may be let go. Feel free to ask questions. Ask too many questions, however, and you may be let go. (1). Most notably the mundane setting of the office changes when he takes the reader to the copier room. Orozco tells how the southwest view overlooks the park, and you can see the bay and sunset. He quickly makes it known that this view will only be enjoyed while photocopying. Putting strict limitations on a person can inevitably cause them to seek validation and self expression in other avenues. Daniel Orozco s use of characterization should not go unnoticed. He carefully builds each characters background and personality in a way to capture the reader s attention. The person in charge of the tour is never explicitly identified, and the main source of identification is in the line If you can t find them, feel free to ask me. That s my cubicle. I sit in there. Reflection About The Taz Prayer At the Taizé prayer, the place with the altar and candles was inviting; first the silence for about 10 minutes, then the music played, followed by long pauses for praying and reading the scriptures together. The prayer around the Jesus cross statue in the center was about to begin when a person placed the cross on the ground and next to the cross a pillow for people to kneel and express their burdens. After about ten minutes, the prayer around the cross continued, but this time the cross statue was moved to a table. People freely approached the cross statue at the table and placed their heads on it or kissed the cross. After a few more prayers were said aloud, then the altogether final prayer followed by a song was the end of the prayer. From this opportunity of praying in a group, I learned about the gifts and challenges of prayer while reflecting in silence and listening to the meditative music. The Taizé prayer is an opportunity to reflect on your day or your life and pray with others together. This was my first time in a Taizé prayer, I have never heard about it before this class. Almost every day we hear about a shocking act of violence, whether it s a terrorist bombing, a senseless rape or a gruesome murder. These tragedies makes us wonder, What is the world coming to? However, we forget to realize that in fact today s world is much more peaceful compared to how dangerous life was thousands of years ago. As pinker stated, Brutality was once woven into the fabric of daily existence (2). Therefore, in order to understand the violence we witness today, it s important to acknowledge how bad the world was in the past. In this paper, just as pinker did in his book The Better Angels of our Nature , I will also argue that violence has decreased tremendously over the centuries by using numerous evidence and statistical data. The Pacification process, Civilizing process, and other sanctions throughout millenniums are just some of the changes that resulted in the decline of violence throughout history. In his book The Better Angels of our Nature , Pinker uses works from Homeric Greece, evidence from The Old Testament, and early modern Europe to support his claim that after a millennia of bloody violence, human kind is entering a peaceful existence. To examine the social order perspective, I will use the theories of Robert Merton and Harold Garfinkel. For the class perspective theory, I will use the theories of Pierre Bourdieu and Immanuel Wallenstein. The social order perspective explains the social issue of climate change in terms of how the social structures of the economy enforce and produce the ways in which people discuss climate change. Its main strength is that it identifies how the economy is able to shape discussions and create a sense of order around the opposing conflict of interest between the economy ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Merton s theory derives from the fundamentalist perspective in which he defines manifest functions as the easily recognizable and intended outcomes, whereas latent functions are unintended. Merton argues the distinction between manifest and latent functions has significant value and that both functions need to be recognized as an approach to explaining any social phenomena (Powell 2017: Feb 15). Latent functions are not necessarily the anticipated outcome, however a closer examination of this function can lead to a better understanding of a social relation or patterns observed (Longofer Winchester, 2016). For instance, in applying the social issue of climate change to Merton s manifest and latent theory, it is clear the manifest function of oil sands is for refineries to extract the oil to produce fuel (energy source). As a result of increased reliance on oil sands as fuel, the process of refining oil and clearing land to extract the oil from these oil sands, releases tons of pollution into the atmosphere, creating the phenomena known as climate change. The perceived function of oil sands is not to harmful to the environment, however; it becomes the negative consequence of the objective. Although the manifest function does not recognize that the use of oil sands leads to an increased threat of the environment, the latent function is able to identify the relationship. This latent function leads to the reexamination of the use of oil sand and how our society collectively moves on about making informed decisions regarding both the production and the rate at which we use ... • 42. Immigration And Immigrants In Australia Immigration can be defined as the action of individuals coming to live permanently or for a period in another country. With a forecasted population of 40 million by 2050 in Australia, the population growth in Australia remains at a steady rate of 1.6%. According to the Bureau of Statistics, each year, Australia s population increases about 350,000 where 190,000 of them are immigrants. Australia is the currently ranked first amongst the major developed countries for its rapidly increasing population growth rate. Since 1851, when the discovery of gold was found in Bathurst, NSW, a significant number of continental Europeans, North Americans and Chinese migrated to Australia with the hope of making a fortune. Moreover, during the second half of the nineteenth century, the Australian government decided to subsidise migration to increase the immigration of Europeans to Australia. With the White Australian Policy in place, in 1938, the Australian Government agreed to accept 15,000 Jewish refugees, as a large proportion of the Jewish community were seeking to leave Germany and Austria due to the forced removal of Jews, The Nazi policy of Judenrein. The White Australia Policy began to be abandoned in 1966, under Prime Minister Harold Holt. The last reside of the system was finally abolished in 1973 under the Government of Gough Whitlam. Then, in the mid 1940s up to about 1964, during the period of World War II, there was a period of a noticeable growth in birth rate, known as the baby boomers generation. In this era, these boomers grew up at a time of dramatic social change, where the Australian economy had an unemployment rate of 2% due to the free tertiary education. Furthermore, during the 1970s and 1980s, around 120,000 southern Asian refugees migrated to Australia, transforming Australia into a multicultural nation. As of this period, immigration to Australia in the late twentieth century was influenced by a number of world events, including ( the fall of Saigon in 1975 ; the fall of East Timor to Indonesian s troops in 1975; dictatorships in South America and the Lebanese Civil War of 1975 1990. At that time, in 1977, 20% of the Australian population was born overseas. In the 1990s, the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 43. NASA ( GRC ) Collaborative Modeling For Parametric... In order to meet the 2029 deadline and reduce costs, this design will use primarily synergistic applications of NASA s planned current investments. Additional propulsion stages may be required to decrease the time to Mars as to keep mission costs low and to make the crew not have too much exposure to radiation. Similarly, advanced physics and thermodynamics are unknown in the time of writing this and could potentially allow design flaws from the future design proposal. To remain conservative, Glenn Research Center (GRC) Collaborative Modeling for Parametric Assessment of Space Systems (COMPASS) had chosen the first of two designs as it was the wider and heavier choice of the two options12. It was previously stated that solar electric propulsion provides such high fuel economy that it reduces the amount of propellant required onboard vehicles for deep space missions by as much as 90 percent 18. With this statement, alternate ions and configurations have been extensively researched and compared to find the best alternative solution. One alternative possibility that could be strong considered is Pulsed Lorentz Force Acceleration (PLFA). As a part of this propulsion there is a Lithium Lorentz Force Accelerator (LiLFA) Thruster, which has been proven by research with a power of 500kW to generate a specific impulse (I_sp) of 4000 and an efficiency of 60%18, 19. These characteristics were recorded and demonstrated by V. P. Ageyev, V. G. Ostrovsky, and V. A. Petrosov with the LiLFA engine operating in this mode uninterruptedly about 500 hours 20 in Russia in 1993. NASA has concurred similar characteristics of Pulsed Lorentz Force Acceleration (PLFA) propulsion system which is described to combine design elements of the Lithium Lorentz Force Accelerator 21 in addition to quasi steady Magnetoplasmadynamic thrusters and pulsed plasma thrusters. In the same article, the PLFA is described to achieve a specific impulse of 4800, an efficiency of 60%, max power of 12.5 kW, and a max thrust of 365 mN21. This thruster uses less power than the Xenon thruster in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 44. Globalisation, Liberalization, Privatization And... India was the world s largest country in the beginning and was accounted for about 32.9% of world GDP and about 17% of bout world population. The goods produced in India exported to different destinations across the world; the concept of globalization is new to India. In 1991, in economic reforms, India became fastest growing major economies and considered as newly industrialized country. It faces the challenges like poverty, corruption, malnutrition and insufficient healthcare. In 1991, balance of payment disaster forced India to liberalize its economy and it moved towards free market system. India had to face many economic problems during 1990 1991 such as massive deficiency in foreign trade balance, decreasing of foreign exchange stock, suffering from increase in inflation etc. Government of India introduced reforms to get relief from the economic problem. They take three major initiatives generally abbreviated as LPG, i.e. Liberalization, Privatization and Globalization. GLOBALIZATION Globalization means interaction of the domestic economy with the rest of the world regarding to foreign investment, production, trade and financial matters. Globalization is a process that defines growing interdependence between various economies of the world. Globalization is a process by which regional economies, societies and cultures have been combined through a global network of communication, trade and transportation. • 46. Rap Music And Its Effects On Modern Music Industry SOUTHERN RAP Southern hip hop also referred to as southern rap originated from the southern cities like New Orleans, Houston, Atlanta, Miami, Memphis, and Virginia Beach, just like the names implies. Rap music has transformed modern music greatly during the decade of 1997 and 2007 (Dyson 61). The decade has seen the southern artists rise to both national and international prominence. The southern cities have churned up modern rap artists like Dwayne Michael (Lil Wayne), Clifford Joseph (T.I) and many others .This papers aims to examine various artists, music and scholarly articles in analyzing rap music in southern cities and its effects on modern music industry. The understanding of the idea of the Dirty South and southern rap in general has found the articulation in stereotypes of the south: the emergence of the idea represented a shift in already established geographical imaginary of hip hop music which is bombarded with authenticity and marketability claims (59). Before the idea, southern cities were not completely excluded from rap, but they were obliged to stick to certain styles and conceptual limits so as to reach a wider music authenticity for their own economic prosperity (63). The period of Dirty south saw a substantial growth of major rap label investment in particular the southern cities (Taylor Virgil 251). Research studies have remarked the dirt south phenomenon as contradictory and paradoxical about its music and place (251). For some scholars, the stylistic distinctions between the produced music in different geographical areas are not avoidable to the shifts in economical and political context (Dyson 64). The connections between styles of music and its origin appear to be more organic because of the ways in which they are layered; the styles and origin makes meaning through repetition and establishment of implicit and explicit links (66). Since the emergence of Bronx in 1970s, rap industry has centrally focused with place based industries. Geography has played an important role in conception of authenticating the characterization of rap genre ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Public supply has to do with both public and private water suppliers, which provide water to others. Public supply water usages would have to deal with domestic, commercial, industrial purposes, and public serves such as pool, parks, firefighting, etc. Public water supply plays a huge role in many counties, and communities. The reason why is because the public water supply systems that are located in these counties/communities are government or facilities that are privately run. These public water supply systems are what provides people with water to use on an everyday basis.
