How to Read Literature Like a Professor Chapter Analysis...
How To Read Literature Like a Professor Chapter 1: Every Trip Is a Quest (Except When It s Not) In
Chapter 1 the author explains the symbolic reasoning of why a character takes a trip. They don t just
take a trip they take a quest. Structurally a quest has a quester, a place to go, a stated reason to go
there, challenges and trials en route, and a reason to go there. Quests usually involve characters such
as a knight, a dangerous road, a Holy Grail, a dragon, an evil knight, and a princess. The quest also
involves the character to gain self knowledge out of taking the adventure to the stated place where he
or she is going. Chapter 2: Nice to Eat with You: Acts of Communion Chapter 2 tells of the symbolism

There are two categories of violence in literature: the specific injury and the narrative violence.
Specific injury causes characters to visit on one another or on themselves. Narrative violence cause
the characters to cause harm in general. Chapter 12: Is That a Symbol? Chapter 12 is about
symbolism. The author says that not everybody will think a symbol will mean the same thing and it
won t. The symbol is whatever you think it means. Some writers make their symbols direct, but most
let you use your own imagination. Chapter 13: It s All Political Chapter 13 was about how most
writing is political. It was about how writers secretly put their political point of views into their
stories. Usually political writing is boring and vague. Some writing is more political than others, but
nearly all writing is political on some level. Chapter 14: Yes, She s a Christ Figure, Too Chapter 14 is
about how almost everything, in some form, is a Christ figure. The chapter gives a list to relate
characters to. The list is 1. crucified, wounds in the hands, feet, side, and head 2. in agony 3. self
sacrificing 4. good with children 5.good with loaves, fishes, water, wine 6. thirty three years of age
when last seen 7. employed as a carpenter 8. known to use humble modes of transportation, feet or

A Research On Risk Rate
Risk Rate.
In the initial SIB projects, philanthropic investors have assumed most of the risk of the projects. Little
or no government payment has been required unless the projects meet their performance targets. One
of the main reasons SIBs have spread so rapidly is because of their model and approach. They posses
a money back guarantee structure that has been very attractive to governments. In the long run, it may
be necessary for governments to share more of the failure risk if SIBs are not to reach their full
potential. The pool of capital available and the number of policy areas where it will be possible to
convince investors to take on all of the risk are likely to be limited.

The difference comes from who ultimately pays for outcomes. In a Social Impact Bond, the outcome
payer is the government, while in a Development Impact Bond the outcome payer is a donor. DIBs are
not bonds in the conventional way, since repayment to their investors is dependent on the achievement
of required social performance goals. Unlike social impact bonds, development impact bonds involve
donor agencies as either full or joint funders of outcomes. DIBs are a financial instrument that can
bridge the gap between investors and opportunities, and between financial returns and social benefits.
Development Impact Bonds are mainly based on the model of Social Impact Bonds, first launched in
the UK as a way to shift incentives and accountability to results, transfer performance risk to the
private sector, and increase efficiency in program implementation. The Development Impact Bond
(DIB) is a pioneering new way to encourage private investors to fund international development
projects that is 100% focused on the outcomes achieved. Development impact bonds have a lot of
similarities to impact investing where the results should always be successful, and the risk rate is non
existent. Development impact bonds are not intended to be a solution to all problems in

When Someone Thinks Of Interrogation Techniques Their Mind
When someone thinks of interrogation techniques their mind gravitates towards the cliché good cop
bad cop routine. It is a classic calling card in stories and films alike where one cop intimidates the
suspect and another is sympathetic towards them. However, real life interrogations are of course more
complicated than they are portrayed in film. This paper will seek to learn more about the fundamental
techniques that detectives utilize in the real world to incriminate suspects.
The interrogation process is one of the most important phases of the justice system. It demands many
aspects such as, the investigation of crime, the apprehension of offenders, the restoration of order, and
the deterrence of future crime (Police Interrogation and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The goal is to create a connection psychologically with the suspect. Therefore, the interrogator must
connect with them on a personal level, for instance, through engaging in small talk. Small talk helps to
push things forward as it contributes to the previously mentioned idea of creating an illusion. It is at
this time where the interrogator is engaging with the suspect in a friendly manner so that they feel
more comfortable, and the interrogator is viewed as nonthreatening. It is intended to put the suspect at
ease (Police Interrogation and American Justice) and thus make the interrogator more relatable. The
second step is to acknowledge their rights; Miranda Waiver. Detectives are legally bound to inform the
suspect of the Miranda Waiver; the right to remain silent and that anything they say or do can be used
against them in court. If by any chance a detective forgets to do this, any statements cannot be used
against him and are excluded from evidence at trial (Police Interrogation and American Justice). At
this stage the best outcome for the interrogator is for the suspect to waive their rights for a lawyer, that
way they do not have to deal with a lawyer. The third stage is when the interrogation process actually
happens. During this process the detective is no longer asking questions but instead accusing the
suspect of the crime committed. The idea here is to convince the suspect that they have evidence

A Crumby Story of Goldilocks and The Three Bears
Oh boy, you ll never guess what kind of story that goddam sonuvabitch Stradlater told me. It has to be
the phoniest story I ve ever heard, and I m actually not lying this time. Anyways, you re not going to
believe me so I don t even know why I m telling ya, but here it is, the same goddam thing that
Stradlater told me. I suppose I should start at the beginning of the story, it only makes sense.
Anyways, he started the story by telling me about some phony girl named Goldilocks or something
and these three very sore bears who lived in a small house in the middle of the forest. I hate when I
hear about others who are poorer than me. It bothers me when others don t have the same advantages
as me. It depresses the hell out of me, it really does. Anyways, you wouldn t think anybody would be
living way the hell out in the goddam forest, but here they were. Honestly who still believes in this
fairy tale crap anymore. Allie, my younger brother you know the one I told you about. He used to love
hearing fairy tales and stories, he really did. Me, not so much especially the crumby ones. It bothers
me when parents tell their kids these stories with phony characters and phony plots, if you want to
know the truth. The characters are always so goddam crumby, they re worst than the actors in movies.
They never act like real people, but I guess that s why they re called fairy tales.

The Bill Of Rights Of The American Nation
Virginia s document ultimately influenced the Bill of Rights being created for the federation as a
whole, rather than state by state. In December 1791, James Madison introduced the Bill of Rights. The
Founding Father s took to the Magna Carta as a historical precedent, after the Parliament adopted their
own Bill of Rights in 1689. Some of these rights written by the Parliament can be seen in America s
Bill of Rights, such as: due process of law, unlawful imprisonment, and the ban on excessive bail (2*).
The Bill of Rights outlines ten amendments, all which are still the backbone of the American nation.
Throughout the years, many have attempted to alter or completely banish different Amendments, but
they have all held strong after more than two hundred years. The First Amendment protects freedom
of speech, freedom of religion and freedom of press. It also allows the freedom to petition, and
freedom to peacefully assemble (2*). The First Amendment can be seen as the most important;
something almost all American s know as their true right, and it is still put to the test in daily life of
the twenty first century. Protecting one s speech allows freedom of expression, and identity. It gives
American s the opportunity to be individualized, and unique. Freedom of religion has allowed over
three hundred different denominations to be practiced in this country, and the freedom of the press
allows American s to share their stories and opinions with the country. Without

Recent studies indicate that limiting the use of certain medications can improve a senior s life. One
study, conducted by researchers at Indiana University, finds that the prolonged use of anticholinergics
may cause physical changes within the brain that could lead to dementia. Furthermore, The Canadian
Foundation for Healthcare Improvement (CFHI) released information related to a program it started in
2014: This study examined how the discontinuation of antipsychotic medications affected the seniors

Women In Thomas Paine s Common Sense By Thomas Paine
Thomas Paine s Common sense preached about the tyrannical rule of the mother country Great Britain
for intentionally and maliciously excluding colonies from contributing to affairs that pertained to
them. However in the process of combating this injustice, it was inflicted as well. Common sense was
indeed written for the people if that means being a white, adult man. The colonies were made up of
men and women; yet women were never addressed throughout the entire discourse. Consequently,
through Thomas Paine s rhetoric, anecdotes and word choice Paine contributes to the continuous loop
of injustice due to his failure to encompass women in the revolution effort. Throughout Common
Sense, Paine attempts to make his discourse relatable by using terms that his audience can identify
with. By doing so, he consistently uses words such as his , he , him , man/men and countrymen . This
word choice shows that he understands that his audience is predominantly male and therefore uses
their preferred pronouns and terms. Although seemingly minor, this gesture speaks volumes. If Paine
is calling the colonists to action, those who do not associate with the terms listed above are unable to
answer this call. It would be ignorant to assume that women did not contribute to the colonists efforts
and success. A prime example of this is These are times that try men s souls. He is explaining to this
audience that the current state they re in are times of great peril test the stamina of a man. Paine does
not say these are times that try our souls or the the souls of humanity because that would extend his
audience. He does not acknowledge that these times are trying women s souls as well. Women had to
make costly sacrifices in addition to finding the courage to fight for independence. While their
husbands were out and about brewing over the idea of independence, women were continuing with
their responsibilities. They had to raise the children in an unstable environment and provide them with
the security that they themselves lacked. Women were responsible for raising the generation that
would bear the most fruit from the revolutionary efforts due to the fact that the children would be
carrying the torch after their

Birthing And Prenatal Care Interview
Birthing and Prenatal Care Interview Giving birth to a baby is the most amazing and miraculous
experiences for parents and their loved ones. Every woman s birth story is different and full of joy.
Furthermore, the process from the moment a woman knows that she s pregnant to being in the
delivering room is very critical to both her and the newborn baby. Prenatal care is extremely important
and it can impact greatly the quality of life of the baby. In this paper, the topic of giving birth will be
discussed thoroughly by describing the stories of two mothers who gave birth in different decades and
see how their prenatal cares are different from each other with correlation of the advancement of
modern medicine between four decades. Christine Le, an accountant living in Flushing, New York,
gave birth to a healthy baby Nathan on January 29th, 2010. She found out that she was pregnant with
her first child when her period was late. She had the routine prenatal care starting at 12 weeks and
delivered at 40 weeks in a hospital with the present of her husband, Robert, and the in laws. To insure
her baby was healthy, Christine underwent several prenatal diagnostic methods like amniocentesis to
examine for genetic defects. Another method was ultrasound; its purpose is to assess fetal age,
multiple pregnancies, size and shape of the fetus. Christine underwent numerous lab tests to ensure
that there are no complications (Berk, pg.43). Lab tests like a complete blood count that screens

mechanical functionality of aeronautical propulsion systems, from the early attempts at propulsion to
modern propulsion system such as propeller, internal combustion engine, ramjet engine and gas
turbine. As this report will focus of aeronautical propulsion systems, rocket propulsion systems are
almost exclusively involved in astronautics and will not be discussed.
As an engineer will have to decide the best combination of engine and thrust device to attach to an
aircraft. This report covers the technical developments in the advancement in propulsion systems. This

A jet engine follows Newton s Third law and as such the rushing hot gases creates a force in the
opposite and parallel direction.
Propulsion systems are not jet engine exclusive. Propulsion system are the constant Conversion any of
various forms of energy into mechanical force and motion to produce thrust. Thus it can be viewed as
an energy transformer.
This transformation is however not perfect and brings into account how efficient the system is. The
efficiency is the ratio between the input and intended output of the system. This unfortunately is never
100% and is a critical factor that plays into propulsion systems and fuel options.
DRAG
Drag is the aeronautical term for the air resistance encounter by an object in motion. Drag acts in the
inverse direction to the objects movement through the air as it constrains its movement and acts
parallel to the relative wind stream.
Drag can be managed in aircraft and countered by increasing its aerodynamic properties. These
include incorporating streamlined shapes, having cleaned surfaces, implementing flush fitting bolts
and also several other configuration characteristics.
The secondary responsibility of an aircraft s engine is to handle and conquer the drag. However, the
more thrust produced the more air resistance encountered and consequently produces increased drag
on the aircraft.

Personal Note On Self Awareness
Self awareness is always a helpful trait to have in any facet of life. Dr. Kahlib Fischer said that the
task of completing the self awareness test is a means of helping you come to terms with ways that God
has gifted and equipped you to serve His purposes in whatever organization He has you in (2006).
Being aware of your own weaknesses and strengths can help you strive to be a better version of your
current self. How, you may ask? For me, I know that time management and attention to detail are
weaknesses. Because I know that, I am aware that I need to pay extra attention to the things that
require these two traits. It has helped me prioritize activities to ensure I get them done correctly and in
a timely manner. I used the Prentice Hall Self Assessment Online Library to learn more about myself
(2016). I hope to be able to use the knowledge I have gained in my personal and professional life.
Below is a summary of what I learned from each part of the assessment. Good introductory
paragraph helps follow the discussion
What about Me? For most of the assessments in the first section, I was not surprised by my results. I
am fairly self aware of my attitudes about most issues. The one that surprised me the most was the
section on ambiguity. Robbins and Judge say that the greater the ambiguity, the greater the potential
for conflict to emerge (2009, p. 488). I like to think of myself as someone that rolls with the punches
easily. However, according to the assessment, I don t

Theme Of Death In Sylvia Plath
Sylvia Plath was a famous American poet; often described as a feminist poet. She was born in Boston,
October 27, 1932 and died on February 11, 1963. She had two children but left them at a young age as
she closed the rooms between herself and her children, left them some bread and milk and trapped her
head in the oven whilst the gas was turned on. She committed suicide at the age of 30. Sylvia used a
wide variety of themes in her poems to express the thoughts that she constantly felt, to express her
feelings that she felt no other person could, to tell stories which she went through and poured out all
her emotions to let us know she could feel. I ll be discussing death / depression as my first theme and
victimization as my second: those being one of her main themes, along with her poems.
Death plays a huge role in Sylvia Plath s poetry; she reveals it in different ways. The main common
theme is the emptiness gone by her father s death at the age of eight. She speaks about his death and
burial remembering that she is forever separated from the love of her father. As Plath suffered most of
her adult life from being depressed, It s said to be that Sylvia Plath s ... Show more content on

husband whom she also had to kill. Plath studied the Holocaust in college so she felt a connection to
it. Her poetry is understood to be a response to these feelings of victimization, and many of her poems
with a male dominated world is seen as reffering to any of the men that she forces in her life.
Out of respect to her father, Plath realized that she could never escape his dreadful hold over her; she
stated her logic of victimhood in the poem The Colossus and Daddy, using a wide range of powerful
metaphors and linked it to man who figured deeply in her

Three Toed Pygmy Sloths
Living the majority of their lives in the canopy of the rainforests in Central and South America, the
sloth has been deemed one of the world s slowest moving mammals. There are five species of sloths;
the most common are the Choloepus (two toed sloths) and the Bradypus (three toed sloths). Within the
Choloepus group, there are a two species, whereas the Bradypus has three. Their main habitat is
within rain forests high atop the canopy of trees where they are safe from predators. Recently a new
sloth species was found, the Bradypus pygmaeus (three toed pygmy sloth) on the Isla Escudo de
Veraguas in the Caribbean coast of Panama. Sloths reach adulthood within one to three years and
become sexually active once they reach their adult size. The features of sloths differ from each group

Reflection Paper 1 Peter
1 Peter
When the first epistle of Peter was written, being a Christian was something that was very hard to do.
It was even difficult for the author because of the problems they faced. But as Christians, it is our duty
to do good things. Yes, we are not perfect, yes we all sin; but we try out best to do what is right.
Though sometimes bad things happen to good people. Look at Jesus. He did what was right and
abided by God and in the end, he got crucified.
We don t know why bad things happen sometimes but they do. We have no control over it. What we
do have control over is our actions and our choice to follow God s word. Jesus did what God told him
to do because he knew they he would be greatly rewarded. God approves when we do good. For it is
better to suffer for doing well than for doing evil. (1 Peter 3:17 says, 17 For it is better, if the will of
God be so, that ye suffer for well doing than for evil doing .
Evil things come with bad consequences. God knows all and sees all, there is nothing that he doesn t
know. When you do right but suffer God will still bless you. He strengthens his people by blessing
them with hopes that they won t have to suffer. When this was writing the writer was aware of all the
dangers or troubles he may face. Not only did the writers know that they were in danger but that their
readers were in danger as well.
In this epistle, Peter refers to God as the living God. He describes him as the creator of all and all
powerful. He says that God is

The Room Hall By Ash Essay
Hustling through the school hallways, Ash could see the Dining Hall several feet away in his sight.
When he was about to reach his destination, a new voice belonging to a young female called out to
him. Hey you! He immediately skidded to a halt and glances over his shoulder to the source of the
voice, noting that two shady characters were running up to him.
The girl who called out to him moments ago had brown skin with dark red eyes and light, mint green
hair styled with a straight fringe and bangs, as well as two long locks on each side, in the back. She
wears an exotic looking white top, a shallow cut olive undershirt, white pants, and brown chaps that
end at her calves, along with an overlong belt.
Her partner in crime was a pale skinned, young man with silver gray eyes and gray hair, dressed in a
gray and black zip jacket, black pants, along with a single notched belt, and a bandana draped over it.
Protecting his arms were sets of rerebraces and vambraces.
Um, hi, is there something you two want with me? the black haired teen asked awkwardly, keeping his
eyes glued on the duo with narrowed eyes.
There was something about them he couldn t trust.
You could say that, said the dark tanned girl with a smile. By chance, are you Ash?

Blind Faith In Hawthorne s Young Goodman Brown
By putting faith to the test Nathaniel Hawthorne points out in Young Goodman Brown that relying
entirely on it as a mean of salvation is questionable, if not wrong. Perhaps Hawthorne wants to point
out that religion and faith has two sides, and that one side could lead to a miserable existence led by
blind faith. By using nature in the setting Hawthorne points out that our moral compass can be
challenged around every corner.
Goodman Brown is the representation of the common man. He sets out on his errand knowing that he
will be confronted with a test of some sort. He is naïve and determined that after this journey he will
return unscathed and able to follow his wife to heaven. During his journey he becomes more alike the

He even acknowledges this when goody Cloyse is touched by his staff. This explains how he is able to

them all. Goodman Brown resembles the traveller and it could be that the traveller is in fact the evil
personification of him self or his father. He was with goodman Brown s grandfather when he whipped
a Quaker woman in the streets of Salem. The witches presence and the travellers mentioning of his
forefathers could be Hawthorne s way of referencing terrible historic events and making the reader
reflect on past events.
Goodman Brown s wife Faith, as the narrator tells us, is aptly named for this story. She is the
representation of innocence and faith. Her pink bonnet is used as a representation for her during
goodman Brown s travel through the thick forest and becomes a constant reminder of her presence in
goodman Browns mind. She does not have much depth in the story, but seems to be the loving and
faithful wife of goodman Brown and the anchor of his

Persuasive Essay On Sexual Education
Let s teach our kids about sex
Does sex education encourage sex? Many parents are afraid that talking about sex with their teenagers
will be taken as permission for the teen to have sex. Nothing could be further from the truth. If
anything, the more children learn about sexuality from talking with their parents and teachers and
reading accurate books, the less they feel compelled to find out for themselves (Spock 62).
I will argue teaching sexual education once a child starts kindergarten will have the most effect on
their life. I strongly agree it will lower teen pregnancy, teach kids that sex is a desire, and it s okay be
curious. With discussing sex earlier on, it would help them realize to take it more serious, less kids
would regret having sex before meeting the right person, and it would teach them relationship advice.
Even though adults don t think it s right for kids to be taught because starting in kindergarten, their too
young and might think it s us telling them to have sex. The purpose of my argument is to show parents
sex causes curiosity into children s minds and they need to be taught the right way from the wrong
way and don t need to be bashed for having curiosity about sex.
Why is teen pregnancy becoming another topic individuals don t talk about? More and more teens
everyday are popping out babies left and right. In the United States teens have the most pregnancy and
STD s. Many advisors, and adults in the United States feel as if the problem can t be

professional development is available for teachers to reach the performance goals included in this

Summer Ball Summary
Summer Ball by Mike Lupica is a children s literature story of particular interest and young boys. It
follows a 13 year old boy named Danny Walker. Danny is a basketball player who is attending an elite
basketball camp called Right Way in Maine during the summer. Danny is a very good basketball
player but there is a small problem, he is really small. Now he is going to the camp to find out will his
lack of height prevent him from playing with the big boys.
Danny live in Middletown, Long Island with his parents, Richie and Ali Walker, who have recently
reconciled after a long separation. Danny, like his father before him, is a star basketball player whose
elite travel team won the national championship in their age group, largely behind the skills of Danny
and his friends Will and Ty. But Danny has a serious concern he is very short for his age and since his
father is also less than 5 10 tall, he is unlikely to grow to be as tall as he d like to be a better basketball
player. In the beginning, his height didn t hold him back, but in the past year other boys have been
getting taller and he is having trouble competing. He is also considerably shorter than his close friend,
Tess Hewitt, on whom he has a not so secret crush, but their relationship has cooled since she began
hanging out with a new boy who shares her interest in tennis.
As the summer following his 8th grade year begins, Danny s big concern is his upcoming trip to Right
Way. He knows he should be excited

foolear The Wise Fool in Shakespeare s King Lear Essay
The Wise Fool in King Lear
Whether or not the role of the Fool is an important one within King Lear is arguable. Although he
seems to have great insight into much of the plays main events, he seems not to have any real
influence on both the plot as well as the outcome of the play. He remains the sole character who does
not have any direct link with the events of the plot, coupled with an unusually early exit; this raises the
question of his significance. However at the very least he does certainly serve as entertainment not
only for Lear but the audience as well, with his honesty, wittiness, and clever speeches that not only
adds to the light humour but also to show us that the Fool could indeed be perceived as being ... Show

However, we can see that when the Fool becomes too close to the raw truth Lear will warn him that he
will be whipped if he goes too far. When Lear first warns him with it, he replies:
Truth s a dog, that must to kennel: he must be whipped out, when the Lady Brach may stand by the
fire and stink.
Here the Fool warns Lear that his two daughters will have control over him due to his actions.
Although Lear doesn t want to hear the truth and therefore tries to avoid it, the Fool essentially forces
it out into the open through his speeches. He often uses comedic verses of saying to highlight the point
he is trying to put across. In addition to this, he also provides various rhymes and riddles, taking on
the role of a Chorus as a means of discussing the plays actions in a light hearted yet clearly stating the
essence of what is happening. For example, the following quotation sees the Fool referring to Lear s
actions concerning Cordelia:
...That man makes his toe
What he his heart should make,
Shall of a corn cry woe
And turn his sleep to wake
He refers to the way in which people may drive away those who they should love due to misplaced
affection and that this will ultimately cause a person much grief and sleeplessness. This refers to the
way he reacted when Cordelia failed to flatter him in his `love test. This suggest the Fool to be quite
wise to point this out, however it may be too

Personal Response Research Paper
My Personal Response
Microeconomics covers many interesting topics but I was able to find five that truly reflected on
things that I go through in my daily life. My first topic was supply and demand which are the two
words that economists use most often. These are also two words that I use often when demanding
items and also supplying them for customers. Another topic that I discussed was the opportunity cost.
There are so many things that can be done in one day but it s always a cost to do one thing over the
other. Following that I expressed the struggle of wanting a normal good but only having the funds for
an inferior good. Normal goods are great when you can afford them but they re not always in your
budget and you have to settle for an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is called Opportunity cost. An opportunity cost is the cost of something you give up to get it
something else. There is an opportunity cost for every trade off that you do in life. I have a couple
different opportunity cost that I have been through but one of my most important and current
opportunity cost is being a full time student at Prairie View A M University instead of working a full
time job to make money and be able to pay all of my bills. At this point I am working, however it is
not a full time job therefore, I am not receiving the same amount of money that I would be receiving if
I was able to work at a full time job in the customer service field that I am qualified for. Being a full
time student is a job in its self and I have to put it first over going to work to make money that will
help pay my bills as this will benefit me in the long run. After I complete college and obtain a degree
in accounting, I will be able work in a large firm working in a higher level of customer service rather
than if I were to jump straight into my field and not have the credentials. I am happy that I m able to
make this opportunity work out to where I can still work and attend school even though it is hard and I
am not receiving my desired pay rate. Overall, being education and acquiring knowledge of many
different subjects will make up for the cost that I am paying now by being in school and not working a
full time job. Also, there is always the summer when I am not a full time student and I am able to
work full time. Before knowing what an opportunity cost was, I did not understand that I was always
paying a cost to do anything that I did even tasks as simple as sleeping. Prime example, I could be
doing homework instead of going to sleep before it was done; this is just something that happened last
night, and often as a college student. I should have been

Jane Bennet Insincere
Jane Bennet: Jane is the oldest and most sensible Bennet sister who can handle any situation with
ease. She is also the belle of the ball, bringing the attention of every young man. Jane is trustworthy
and serves as Elizabeth s confidant and mentor. Her unfailing positivity is part of what makes her so
beloved by everyone, however, it can hinder her ability to make decisions for herself. Her relationship
with Caroline Bingley is one such case. Caroline is an attractive young woman, known for her vain
and conceited personality. Elizabeth can clearly see her faults, while Jane is committed to seeing the
good in her. This leads to what Jane sees as a close friendship, when in reality Caroline is insincere in
her actions. Jane eventually comes

The Coop: Market Research Daryl Buckmeister was facing a difficult problem that many business
owners encounter. After much success, his quick service chicken restaurant, The Chicken Coop, was
seeing a sales decline in 20 of The Coop s 76 stores. The average decline in sales for these 20 stores
was 6%. His top two managers, Anita McMichael, VP of Quality and Trevor Wallace, VP of
Marketing, were working with Buckmeister to figure out why customers weren t spending as much
money in those stores and to determine the best way to correct this problem. There were three key
parts to Buckmeister s decision: (1) should he invest in market research, and if so, (2) how much

There exists the potential of using the results of the surveys to pay bonuses to everyone from line
employees to vice presidents. Such an incentive scheme could help focus employee attention on
quality and customer satisfaction issues. The purpose of these Customer Experience Studies would be
to gather information on how customers viewed their visits to The Coop restaurants. The program
would involve using an outside company, which would hire individuals to visit Coop restaurants and
the individual would have no knowledge of who was paying for the research. The cost of this would
be approximately $20 per visit, or a total of $45,600 for an entire year. While Wallace s ideas are
expensive, they will provide The Coop with the most in depth research. When offering
recommendations, one has much to consider. Primarily, while Buckmeister s ideas have some
potential to be effective, market research cannot be approached with the mindset of providing the
business with a quick and easy fix. To truly understand consumers, both of his options are not in depth
enough and contain too small of a sample size. I think that each of Buckmeister s ideas should be
implemented as they are both relatively inexpensive (focus groups and comment cards) but they must
be supplemented by a larger and more in depth form of market research. I believe that McMicheal s
suggestion of taste tests should be eliminated from consideration. Sales at The Coop are not

De-Cluttering Research Paper
Moving? Follow These 3 De Cluttering Tips
One of the hardest parts of moving is not the move itself, but packing. Chances are that your home is
cluttered, and you need to spend more time than you d like de cluttering before you can even start
packing things up. That s why it helps to follow these 3 tips to de clutter your home prior to packing.
Take Out The Trash
Before you can even start packing, you ll need to take out the trash. Start by getting rid of the garbage
in your home. These are things that you don t want, and have so little value that you cannot sell them.
For example, it includes going through your desk drawers and throwing away old paperwork that you
do not need, or tossing food in your pantry that has expired. By getting rid of these things now, you
won t need to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This includes old kids clothes and toys that they have outgrown, or maybe some old DVDs that you
have not watched in years. Now is the time to sell these things and make some cash off of them. Every
penny counts, and if you can make a few bucks from something rather than throwing it away, it will be
worth it.
Try posting things on Craigslist, or check if your area has a garage sale Facebook group. Selling
something is as simple as taking a photo and making a post, and you ll know instantly if somebody
has interest or if it should be thrown away.
Handle Sentimental Stuff For Last
People tend to slow down de cluttering when they get around to sentimental items. This could include
old artwork from your kids, or even organizing photos. It s best to deal with these things last, since
they can be the most time consuming to sort through. Worst case scenario is that you don t get through
the small amount of sentimental stuff you have and you end up moving it to your new home to sort
later.
For more de cluttering tips, check with your moving

Teaching Self And Core Values Of Teaching Personal And...
Teaching personal and social responsibility (TPSR) is a lifelong journey. One can never fully achieve
the ultimate goal of becoming personally and socially responsible as it s always expanding. TPSR is
built upon the foundation of putting kids first, human decency, holistic self development, and as Nick
Forsberg said a way of being (19). It is important for a teacher to put aside personal goals and
achievements to focus on the students. The students well being and personal growth must be the focal
point. Along with these important core values TPSR is structured around a five level system. The first
two level are considered a beginner level of TPSR and touch on respect and effort. Within the
begining levels a student will begin to understand the role expectations placed upon him or her in the
classroom. This includes peaceful and respectful participation in every activity with a maximum effort
and a positive attitude. The third and fourth level to TPSR involve self direction and helping. This
involves going above and beyond the set lesson and setting goals for yourself while showing positive
leadership within the community. It is important to identify at these level direct supervision is not
necessary and varies with age. The final level involves taking your knowledge outside the gym. This is
a culmination of all levels and a direct transfer to your everyday life. This is the stage in which one
goes from being a follower to a leader and setting an example for everyone

The Causative Bacterial Agent For Lyme Disease
Borrelia burgdorferi, the causative bacterial agent for Lyme Disease, has persisted for thousands of
years. Recently, scientists have found genetic remains of the bacteria from a mummy dating back
5,300 years (National Geographic, 2011). However, Borrelia burgdorferi was not classified and
identified as the putative source for Lyme Disease until the early 1980 s.
After mysterious and untreatable symptoms appeared in children and adults of the city of Lyme,
Connecticut, the goal for many clinical microbiologists was to discover the source of disease and
possible cures. It wasn t until Dr. Willy Burgdorfer made a connection between the infected populace
and tick bites when the bacteria was truly discovered (bayarealyme.org). It was then the bacterium
was christened in his name. The bacterium continues to be extensively studied.
Borrelia burgdorferi have many defining characteristics. The spirochete shape distinguishes the
bacterium from other human pathogens. Borrelia burgdorferi is considered a microaerophile it thrives
in environments of low oxygen. However, it can also be classified as an obligate anaerobe
(wisegeek.org). It is considered a weak gram negative bacteria, but is better characterized as a diderm
(Wikipedia). This means that the bacterium has two cell membranes, thus making gram staining
difficult. The bacterial genome consists of one linear chromosome with 17 additional plasmids totaling
over 1000 genes. Most of these genes code for surface proteins

The Portrait Of Madame De Pompadour
I remember the precise moment when I first laid eyes on the Portrait of Madame de Pompadour. At
about ten years of age, my parents bought a book titled: Women who read are dangerous. This book
depicted several paintings, sculptures and photographs of women reading; among which was the
Portrait of Madame de Pompadour. The second I witnessed the detail and extravagance of the
painting, I fell in love with it. Luckily at the time I was living in Bavaria, coincidentally also the
current home of said painting. When I went to see it, it was much larger in person than I could have
ever envisioned and much more vibrant in color and detail than I could have ever imagined. Over the
years I have seen many more paintings, I have to yet be overwhelmed the way I was when I first saw
the Portrait of Madame de Pompadour. French artist François Boucher painted the legendary Portrait
of Madame de Pompadour in 1756. He utilized oil on canvas to paint the 201 × 157 cm (79.1 × 61.8
in) portrait of the chief mistress to Louis XV, Jeanne Antoinette Poisson aka. The Marquise de
Pompadour (also referred to as Madame de Pompadour). Boucher, who lived from 1703 70, was the
archetypal painter of the French rococo, a style that subordinated subject matter to a lacy, frothy
sensuality in which bodies, clothes, clouds, waves and forests become not themselves but images of
desire, metaphors for titillation. Among the most prolific of his generation, he worked in virtually
every medium and every

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Op-Amps
Abstract Operational amplifiers (Op Amps) are basic building blocks of a wide range of analog and
mixed signal systems. Basically, Op Amps are voltage amplifiers used for achieving high gain by
applying differential inputs. As CMOS technology is most suitable for realizing VLSI system, it leads
to continues trend in scaling down the size of transistor. Hence, reduced power dissipation is one of
the challenges in front of most of designers. However, Power dissipation can be reduced by reducing
either supply voltage or total current in the circuit or by reducing the both. As we decrease input
current, though power dissipation is reduced, but the dynamic range is degraded. As we decrease the
supply voltage, it becomes necessary to reduce the threshold voltage by the same amount otherwise it

NEED OF COMPENSATION IN OP AMP As CMOS technology is most suitable for realizing VLSI

dissipation is one of the challenges in front of most of designers. However, Power dissipation can be
reduced by reducing either supply voltage or total current in the circuit or by reducing the both. As we
decrease input current, then the transistor needs to be operated in the weak inversion region due to
which power dissipation is reduced, but the dynamic range and the gain of the amplifier are degraded.
As we decrease the supply voltage, it becomes necessary to reduce the threshold voltage by the same
amount otherwise it becomes difficult to keep transistors in saturation condition [4]. In order to
achieve the required degree of stability, generally indicated by phase margin, other performance
parameters are usually compromised. As a result, designing an op amp that meets all specifications
needs a good compensation strategy and design methodology [1]. III. VARIOUS TECHNIQUES OF

How To Read Literature Like a Professor Chapter 1: Every Trip Is a Quest (Except When It s Not) In Chapter 1 the author explains the symbolic reasoning of why a character takes a trip. They don t just take a trip they take a quest. Structurally a quest has a quester, a place to go, a stated reason to go there, challenges and trials en route, and a reason to go there. Quests usually involve characters such as a knight, a dangerous road, a Holy Grail, a dragon, an evil knight, and a princess. The quest also involves the character to gain self knowledge out of taking the adventure to the stated place where he or she is going. The author says that not everybody will think a symbol will mean the same thing and it won t. The symbol is whatever you think it means. Some writers make their symbols direct, but most let you use your own imagination. Chapter 13: It s All Political Chapter 13 was about how most writing is political. • 3. A Research On Risk Rate Risk Rate. In the initial SIB projects, philanthropic investors have assumed most of the risk of the projects. Little or no government payment has been required unless the projects meet their performance targets. One of the main reasons SIBs have spread so rapidly is because of their model and approach. They posses a money back guarantee structure that has been very attractive to governments. In the long run, it may be necessary for governments to share more of the failure risk if SIBs are not to reach their full potential. The pool of capital available and the number of policy areas where it will be possible to convince investors to take on all of the risk are likely to be limited. With a social impact bond, a private investor funds a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The difference comes from who ultimately pays for outcomes. In a Social Impact Bond, the outcome payer is the government, while in a Development Impact Bond the outcome payer is a donor. DIBs are not bonds in the conventional way, since repayment to their investors is dependent on the achievement of required social performance goals. Unlike social impact bonds, development impact bonds involve donor agencies as either full or joint funders of outcomes. DIBs are a financial instrument that can bridge the gap between investors and opportunities, and between financial returns and social benefits. Development Impact Bonds are mainly based on the model of Social Impact Bonds, first launched in the UK as a way to shift incentives and accountability to results, transfer performance risk to the private sector, and increase efficiency in program implementation. The Development Impact Bond (DIB) is a pioneering new way to encourage private investors to fund international development projects that is 100% focused on the outcomes achieved. Development impact bonds have a lot of similarities to impact investing where the results should always be successful, and the risk rate is non existent. Development impact bonds are not intended to be a solution to all problems in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. When Someone Thinks Of Interrogation Techniques Their Mind When someone thinks of interrogation techniques their mind gravitates towards the cliché good cop bad cop routine. It is a classic calling card in stories and films alike where one cop intimidates the suspect and another is sympathetic towards them. However, real life interrogations are of course more complicated than they are portrayed in film. This paper will seek to learn more about the fundamental techniques that detectives utilize in the real world to incriminate suspects. The interrogation process is one of the most important phases of the justice system. It demands many aspects such as, the investigation of crime, the apprehension of offenders, the restoration of order, and the deterrence of future crime (Police Interrogation and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The goal is to create a connection psychologically with the suspect. Therefore, the interrogator must connect with them on a personal level, for instance, through engaging in small talk. Small talk helps to push things forward as it contributes to the previously mentioned idea of creating an illusion. It is at this time where the interrogator is engaging with the suspect in a friendly manner so that they feel more comfortable, and the interrogator is viewed as nonthreatening. It is intended to put the suspect at ease (Police Interrogation and American Justice) and thus make the interrogator more relatable. The second step is to acknowledge their rights; Miranda Waiver. Detectives are legally bound to inform the suspect of the Miranda Waiver; the right to remain silent and that anything they say or do can be used against them in court. If by any chance a detective forgets to do this, any statements cannot be used against him and are excluded from evidence at trial (Police Interrogation and American Justice). At this stage the best outcome for the interrogator is for the suspect to waive their rights for a lawyer, that way they do not have to deal with a lawyer. The third stage is when the interrogation process actually happens. During this process the detective is no longer asking questions but instead accusing the suspect of the crime committed. The idea here is to convince the suspect that they have evidence ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It has to be the phoniest story I ve ever heard, and I m actually not lying this time. Anyways, you re not going to believe me so I don t even know why I m telling ya, but here it is, the same goddam thing that Stradlater told me. I suppose I should start at the beginning of the story, it only makes sense. Anyways, he started the story by telling me about some phony girl named Goldilocks or something and these three very sore bears who lived in a small house in the middle of the forest. I hate when I hear about others who are poorer than me. It bothers me when others don t have the same advantages as me. It depresses the hell out of me, it really does. Anyways, you wouldn t think anybody would be living way the hell out in the goddam forest, but here they were. Honestly who still believes in this fairy tale crap anymore. It bothers me when parents tell their kids these stories with phony characters and phony plots, if you want to know the truth. • 6. The Bill Of Rights Of The American Nation Virginia s document ultimately influenced the Bill of Rights being created for the federation as a whole, rather than state by state. In December 1791, James Madison introduced the Bill of Rights. The Founding Father s took to the Magna Carta as a historical precedent, after the Parliament adopted their own Bill of Rights in 1689. Some of these rights written by the Parliament can be seen in America s Bill of Rights, such as: due process of law, unlawful imprisonment, and the ban on excessive bail (2*). The Bill of Rights outlines ten amendments, all which are still the backbone of the American nation. Throughout the years, many have attempted to alter or completely banish different Amendments, but they have all held strong after more than two hundred years. The First Amendment protects freedom of speech, freedom of religion and freedom of press. It also allows the freedom to petition, and freedom to peacefully assemble (2*). The First Amendment can be seen as the most important; something almost all American s know as their true right, and it is still put to the test in daily life of the twenty first century. Protecting one s speech allows freedom of expression, and identity. It gives American s the opportunity to be individualized, and unique. Freedom of religion has allowed over three hundred different denominations to be practiced in this country, and the freedom of the press allows American s to share their stories and opinions with the country. • 8. Women In Thomas Paine s Common Sense By Thomas Paine Thomas Paine s Common sense preached about the tyrannical rule of the mother country Great Britain for intentionally and maliciously excluding colonies from contributing to affairs that pertained to them. However in the process of combating this injustice, it was inflicted as well. Common sense was indeed written for the people if that means being a white, adult man. The colonies were made up of men and women; yet women were never addressed throughout the entire discourse. Consequently, through Thomas Paine s rhetoric, anecdotes and word choice Paine contributes to the continuous loop of injustice due to his failure to encompass women in the revolution effort. Throughout Common Sense, Paine attempts to make his discourse relatable by using terms that his audience can identify with. By doing so, he consistently uses words such as his , he , him , man/men and countrymen . This word choice shows that he understands that his audience is predominantly male and therefore uses their preferred pronouns and terms. Although seemingly minor, this gesture speaks volumes. If Paine is calling the colonists to action, those who do not associate with the terms listed above are unable to answer this call. It would be ignorant to assume that women did not contribute to the colonists efforts and success. A prime example of this is These are times that try men s souls. He is explaining to this audience that the current state they re in are times of great peril test the stamina of a man. Paine does not say these are times that try our souls or the the souls of humanity because that would extend his audience. He does not acknowledge that these times are trying women s souls as well. Women had to make costly sacrifices in addition to finding the courage to fight for independence. While their husbands were out and about brewing over the idea of independence, women were continuing with their responsibilities. They had to raise the children in an unstable environment and provide them with the security that they themselves lacked. Women were responsible for raising the generation that would bear the most fruit from the revolutionary efforts due to the fact that the children would be carrying the torch after their ... Every woman s birth story is different and full of joy. Furthermore, the process from the moment a woman knows that she s pregnant to being in the delivering room is very critical to both her and the newborn baby. Prenatal care is extremely important and it can impact greatly the quality of life of the baby. In this paper, the topic of giving birth will be discussed thoroughly by describing the stories of two mothers who gave birth in different decades and see how their prenatal cares are different from each other with correlation of the advancement of modern medicine between four decades. Christine Le, an accountant living in Flushing, New York, gave birth to a healthy baby Nathan on January 29th, 2010. She found out that she was pregnant with her first child when her period was late. She had the routine prenatal care starting at 12 weeks and delivered at 40 weeks in a hospital with the present of her husband, Robert, and the in laws. To insure her baby was healthy, Christine underwent several prenatal diagnostic methods like amniocentesis to examine for genetic defects. Another method was ultrasound; its purpose is to assess fetal age, multiple pregnancies, size and shape of the fetus. This transformation is however not perfect and brings into account how efficient the system is. The efficiency is the ratio between the input and intended output of the system. This unfortunately is never 100% and is a critical factor that plays into propulsion systems and fuel options. DRAG Drag is the aeronautical term for the air resistance encounter by an object in motion. Drag acts in the inverse direction to the objects movement through the air as it constrains its movement and acts parallel to the relative wind stream. Drag can be managed in aircraft and countered by increasing its aerodynamic properties. These include incorporating streamlined shapes, having cleaned surfaces, implementing flush fitting bolts and also several other configuration characteristics. The secondary responsibility of an aircraft s engine is to handle and conquer the drag. However, the more thrust produced the more air resistance encountered and consequently produces increased drag on the aircraft. • 11. Personal Note On Self Awareness Self awareness is always a helpful trait to have in any facet of life. Dr. Kahlib Fischer said that the task of completing the self awareness test is a means of helping you come to terms with ways that God has gifted and equipped you to serve His purposes in whatever organization He has you in (2006). Being aware of your own weaknesses and strengths can help you strive to be a better version of your current self. How, you may ask? For me, I know that time management and attention to detail are weaknesses. Because I know that, I am aware that I need to pay extra attention to the things that require these two traits. It has helped me prioritize activities to ensure I get them done correctly and in a timely manner. I used the Prentice Hall Self Assessment Online Library to learn more about myself (2016). I hope to be able to use the knowledge I have gained in my personal and professional life. Below is a summary of what I learned from each part of the assessment. Good introductory paragraph helps follow the discussion What about Me? For most of the assessments in the first section, I was not surprised by my results. I am fairly self aware of my attitudes about most issues. The one that surprised me the most was the section on ambiguity. Robbins and Judge say that the greater the ambiguity, the greater the potential for conflict to emerge (2009, p. 488). • 12. Theme Of Death In Sylvia Plath Sylvia Plath was a famous American poet; often described as a feminist poet. She was born in Boston, October 27, 1932 and died on February 11, 1963. She had two children but left them at a young age as she closed the rooms between herself and her children, left them some bread and milk and trapped her head in the oven whilst the gas was turned on. She committed suicide at the age of 30. Sylvia used a wide variety of themes in her poems to express the thoughts that she constantly felt, to express her feelings that she felt no other person could, to tell stories which she went through and poured out all her emotions to let us know she could feel. I ll be discussing death / depression as my first theme and victimization as my second: those being one of her main themes, along with her poems. Death plays a huge role in Sylvia Plath s poetry; she reveals it in different ways. The main common theme is the emptiness gone by her father s death at the age of eight. It was even difficult for the author because of the problems they faced. But as Christians, it is our duty to do good things. Yes, we are not perfect, yes we all sin; but we try out best to do what is right. Though sometimes bad things happen to good people. Look at Jesus. He did what was right and abided by God and in the end, he got crucified. We don t know why bad things happen sometimes but they do. We have no control over it. What we do have control over is our actions and our choice to follow God s word. Jesus did what God told him to do because he knew they he would be greatly rewarded. God approves when we do good. For it is better to suffer for doing well than for doing evil. (1 Peter 3:17 says, 17 For it is better, if the will of God be so, that ye suffer for well doing than for evil doing . Evil things come with bad consequences. God knows all and sees all, there is nothing that he doesn t know. When you do right but suffer God will still bless you. He strengthens his people by blessing them with hopes that they won t have to suffer. When this was writing the writer was aware of all the dangers or troubles he may face. Goodman Brown resembles the traveller and it could be that the traveller is in fact the evil personification of him self or his father. He was with goodman Brown s grandfather when he whipped a Quaker woman in the streets of Salem. The witches presence and the travellers mentioning of his forefathers could be Hawthorne s way of referencing terrible historic events and making the reader reflect on past events. Goodman Brown s wife Faith, as the narrator tells us, is aptly named for this story. She is the representation of innocence and faith. Her pink bonnet is used as a representation for her during goodman Brown s travel through the thick forest and becomes a constant reminder of her presence in goodman Browns mind. She does not have much depth in the story, but seems to be the loving and faithful wife of goodman Brown and the anchor of his ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 19. Persuasive Essay On Sexual Education Let s teach our kids about sex Does sex education encourage sex? Many parents are afraid that talking about sex with their teenagers will be taken as permission for the teen to have sex. Nothing could be further from the truth. If anything, the more children learn about sexuality from talking with their parents and teachers and reading accurate books, the less they feel compelled to find out for themselves (Spock 62). I will argue teaching sexual education once a child starts kindergarten will have the most effect on their life. I strongly agree it will lower teen pregnancy, teach kids that sex is a desire, and it s okay be curious. With discussing sex earlier on, it would help them realize to take it more serious, less kids would regret having sex before meeting the right person, and it would teach them relationship advice. Even though adults don t think it s right for kids to be taught because starting in kindergarten, their too young and might think it s us telling them to have sex. The purpose of my argument is to show parents sex causes curiosity into children s minds and they need to be taught the right way from the wrong way and don t need to be bashed for having curiosity about sex. Why is teen pregnancy becoming another topic individuals don t talk about? More and more teens everyday are popping out babies left and right. In the United States teens have the most pregnancy and STD s. Many advisors, and adults in the United States feel as if the problem can t be ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 21. Summer Ball Summary Summer Ball by Mike Lupica is a children s literature story of particular interest and young boys. It follows a 13 year old boy named Danny Walker. Danny is a basketball player who is attending an elite basketball camp called Right Way in Maine during the summer. Danny is a very good basketball player but there is a small problem, he is really small. Now he is going to the camp to find out will his lack of height prevent him from playing with the big boys. Danny live in Middletown, Long Island with his parents, Richie and Ali Walker, who have recently reconciled after a long separation. Danny, like his father before him, is a star basketball player whose elite travel team won the national championship in their age group, largely behind the skills of Danny and his friends Will and Ty. But Danny has a serious concern he is very short for his age and since his father is also less than 5 10 tall, he is unlikely to grow to be as tall as he d like to be a better basketball player. In the beginning, his height didn t hold him back, but in the past year other boys have been getting taller and he is having trouble competing. He is also considerably shorter than his close friend, Tess Hewitt, on whom he has a not so secret crush, but their relationship has cooled since she began hanging out with a new boy who shares her interest in tennis. As the summer following his 8th grade year begins, Danny s big concern is his upcoming trip to Right Way. He knows he should be excited ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 22. foolear The Wise Fool in Shakespeare s King Lear Essay The Wise Fool in King Lear Whether or not the role of the Fool is an important one within King Lear is arguable. Although he seems to have great insight into much of the plays main events, he seems not to have any real influence on both the plot as well as the outcome of the play. He remains the sole character who does not have any direct link with the events of the plot, coupled with an unusually early exit; this raises the question of his significance. However at the very least he does certainly serve as entertainment not only for Lear but the audience as well, with his honesty, wittiness, and clever speeches that not only adds to the light humour but also to show us that the Fool could indeed be perceived as being ... When Lear first warns him with it, he replies: Truth s a dog, that must to kennel: he must be whipped out, when the Lady Brach may stand by the fire and stink. Here the Fool warns Lear that his two daughters will have control over him due to his actions. Although Lear doesn t want to hear the truth and therefore tries to avoid it, the Fool essentially forces it out into the open through his speeches. He often uses comedic verses of saying to highlight the point he is trying to put across. In addition to this, he also provides various rhymes and riddles, taking on the role of a Chorus as a means of discussing the plays actions in a light hearted yet clearly stating the essence of what is happening. For example, the following quotation sees the Fool referring to Lear s actions concerning Cordelia: ...That man makes his toe What he his heart should make, Shall of a corn cry woe And turn his sleep to wake He refers to the way in which people may drive away those who they should love due to misplaced affection and that this will ultimately cause a person much grief and sleeplessness. This refers to the way he reacted when Cordelia failed to flatter him in his `love test. This suggest the Fool to be quite wise to point this out, however it may be too ... Personal Response Research Paper My Personal Response Microeconomics covers many interesting topics but I was able to find five that truly reflected on things that I go through in my daily life. My first topic was supply and demand which are the two words that economists use most often. These are also two words that I use often when demanding items and also supplying them for customers. Another topic that I discussed was the opportunity cost. There are so many things that can be done in one day but it s always a cost to do one thing over the other. Following that I expressed the struggle of wanting a normal good but only having the funds for an inferior good. An opportunity cost is the cost of something you give up to get it something else. There is an opportunity cost for every trade off that you do in life. I have a couple different opportunity cost that I have been through but one of my most important and current opportunity cost is being a full time student at Prairie View A M University instead of working a full time job to make money and be able to pay all of my bills. At this point I am working, however it is not a full time job therefore, I am not receiving the same amount of money that I would be receiving if I was able to work at a full time job in the customer service field that I am qualified for. Being a full time student is a job in its self and I have to put it first over going to work to make money that will help pay my bills as this will benefit me in the long run. After I complete college and obtain a degree in accounting, I will be able work in a large firm working in a higher level of customer service rather than if I were to jump straight into my field and not have the credentials. I am happy that I m able to make this opportunity work out to where I can still work and attend school even though it is hard and I am not receiving my desired pay rate. Overall, being education and acquiring knowledge of many different subjects will make up for the cost that I am paying now by being in school and not working a full time job. Also, there is always the summer when I am not a full time student and I am able to work full time. Before knowing what an opportunity cost was, I did not understand that I was always paying a cost to do anything that I did even tasks as simple as sleeping. His top two managers, Anita McMichael, VP of Quality and Trevor Wallace, VP of Marketing, were working with Buckmeister to figure out why customers weren t spending as much money in those stores and to determine the best way to correct this problem. There exists the potential of using the results of the surveys to pay bonuses to everyone from line employees to vice presidents. Such an incentive scheme could help focus employee attention on quality and customer satisfaction issues. The purpose of these Customer Experience Studies would be to gather information on how customers viewed their visits to The Coop restaurants. The program would involve using an outside company, which would hire individuals to visit Coop restaurants and the individual would have no knowledge of who was paying for the research. The cost of this would be approximately $20 per visit, or a total of $45,600 for an entire year. While Wallace s ideas are expensive, they will provide The Coop with the most in depth research. When offering recommendations, one has much to consider. Primarily, while Buckmeister s ideas have some potential to be effective, market research cannot be approached with the mindset of providing the business with a quick and easy fix. To truly understand consumers, both of his options are not in depth enough and contain too small of a sample size. I think that each of Buckmeister s ideas should be implemented as they are both relatively inexpensive (focus groups and comment cards) but they must be supplemented by a larger and more in depth form of market research. I believe that McMicheal s suggestion of taste tests should be eliminated from consideration. Sales at The Coop are not ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 27. Teaching Self And Core Values Of Teaching Personal And... Teaching personal and social responsibility (TPSR) is a lifelong journey. One can never fully achieve the ultimate goal of becoming personally and socially responsible as it s always expanding. TPSR is built upon the foundation of putting kids first, human decency, holistic self development, and as Nick Forsberg said a way of being (19). It is important for a teacher to put aside personal goals and achievements to focus on the students. The students well being and personal growth must be the focal point. Along with these important core values TPSR is structured around a five level system. The first two level are considered a beginner level of TPSR and touch on respect and effort. Within the begining levels a student will begin to understand the role expectations placed upon him or her in the classroom. This includes peaceful and respectful participation in every activity with a maximum effort and a positive attitude. The third and fourth level to TPSR involve self direction and helping. This involves going above and beyond the set lesson and setting goals for yourself while showing positive leadership within the community. It is important to identify at these level direct supervision is not necessary and varies with age. The final level involves taking your knowledge outside the gym. This is a culmination of all levels and a direct transfer to your everyday life. This is the stage in which one goes from being a follower to a leader and setting an example for everyone ... • 28. The Causative Bacterial Agent For Lyme Disease Borrelia burgdorferi, the causative bacterial agent for Lyme Disease, has persisted for thousands of years. Recently, scientists have found genetic remains of the bacteria from a mummy dating back 5,300 years (National Geographic, 2011). However, Borrelia burgdorferi was not classified and identified as the putative source for Lyme Disease until the early 1980 s. After mysterious and untreatable symptoms appeared in children and adults of the city of Lyme, Connecticut, the goal for many clinical microbiologists was to discover the source of disease and possible cures. It wasn t until Dr. Willy Burgdorfer made a connection between the infected populace and tick bites when the bacteria was truly discovered (bayarealyme.org). It was then the bacterium was christened in his name. The bacterium continues to be extensively studied. Borrelia burgdorferi have many defining characteristics. The spirochete shape distinguishes the bacterium from other human pathogens. Borrelia burgdorferi is considered a microaerophile it thrives in environments of low oxygen. However, it can also be classified as an obligate anaerobe (wisegeek.org). It is considered a weak gram negative bacteria, but is better characterized as a diderm (Wikipedia). This means that the bacterium has two cell membranes, thus making gram staining difficult. The bacterial genome consists of one linear chromosome with 17 additional plasmids totaling over 1000 genes. • 30. The Portrait Of Madame De Pompadour I remember the precise moment when I first laid eyes on the Portrait of Madame de Pompadour. At about ten years of age, my parents bought a book titled: Women who read are dangerous. This book depicted several paintings, sculptures and photographs of women reading; among which was the Portrait of Madame de Pompadour. The second I witnessed the detail and extravagance of the painting, I fell in love with it. Luckily at the time I was living in Bavaria, coincidentally also the current home of said painting. When I went to see it, it was much larger in person than I could have ever envisioned and much more vibrant in color and detail than I could have ever imagined. Over the years I have seen many more paintings, I have to yet be overwhelmed the way I was when I first saw the Portrait of Madame de Pompadour. French artist François Boucher painted the legendary Portrait of Madame de Pompadour in 1756. He utilized oil on canvas to paint the 201 × 157 cm (79.1 × 61.8 in) portrait of the chief mistress to Louis XV, Jeanne Antoinette Poisson aka. The Marquise de Pompadour (also referred to as Madame de Pompadour). Boucher, who lived from 1703 70, was the archetypal painter of the French rococo, a style that subordinated subject matter to a lacy, frothy sensuality in which bodies, clothes, clouds, waves and forests become not themselves but images of desire, metaphors for titillation. Among the most prolific of his generation, he worked in virtually every medium and every ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

As we decrease the supply voltage, it becomes necessary to reduce the threshold voltage by the same amount otherwise it becomes difficult to keep transistors in saturation condition [4].
