3. Kirk Cameron Misconceptions
There are many common misconceptions about the actor, Kirk Cameron. In fact, he wrote a
whole chapter over those misconceptions. He said that most of his admirers think of him as a
person that is always perfect. He said that he was not that nice or good at everything. Kirk was a
prankster, didn t practice his lines, and overall was not a super thoughtful person. His audience
thinks of him as someone that has everything together, but I believe if I asked him today if his
life was together, he would most likely say No. Although, he is an ultra humble person, I don t
know how true that would be. Another common misconception about Kirk Cameron is that he is
very stuck up and proud even though he just wants people to see him as a normal person and
judged by what he does not that he is in a movie. Kirk Cameron has been influenced by many
people including: his wife, his wife s dad, and the preacher at his spouses church.... Show more

4. The Stranger Character Analysis
The Stranger by Albert Camus follows the story of a man named Meursault, who received notice
that his mother had passed away. Meursault was not emotionally connected to his mother, and his
reaction is not what the reader would expect, as he did not seem to care at all. Therefore, the day
after attending his mothers funeral, Meursault goes to the beach and meets up with his girlfriend,
Marie. After the beach, Meursault and Marie go to a movie and spend the night together. When he
returns home from work the next day, Meursault runs into his neighbor, Raymond, who beats his
mistress. Later in the story, Meursault, Marie, and Raymond go to a beach house, which is owned

Marie, Meursault s girlfriend, is extremely emotionally attached to Meursault, and this is a
weakness. Marie is dependent on Meursault as her source of happiness, even though Meursault
does not show that he really cares about Marie. When asked if he loved her, he replied it didn t
mean anything and that [he] probably didn t love her (41). Most people would despise being in a
relationship in which they re unloved by their partner. However, Marie stays with Meursault,
even if he does not actually love her. Marie staying in a relationship where she is not even loved,
is the result of her being emotionally attached to someone who does not feel the same way about
her. However, Marie s neediness also allows her to be extremely loyal. Loyalty is normally a
strength, but Marie takes it to another level and makes her loyalty a weakness. Marie visited
Meursault in prison and assures him [he will] get out [of prison] and [they will] get married (75).
Even though Meursault murders someone, goes to jail and is sentenced to death, Marie stays with
him almost all the way to the end of Meursault s life. Most people would not be comfortable
getting married to a murderer. However, Marie still wanted to get married to Meursault because

5. A Context Dependent Memory Experiment Essay
The experiment is as follows; one hundred students, randomly selected, participated in a context
dependent memory experiment. twenty five were in each of the four following learn recall
situations; hot room hot room, hot room cold room, cold room cold room, cold room hot room.
They were asked to spend thirty minutes learning a list of thirty words. The next day they were
asked to recall those words in a fifteen minute time period. There are no results.
Context Dependent Memory in Environments with Hot and Cold Temperatures
Context dependent memory is the concept that things are often best recalled in the same
environment that they were learned. Smith and Vela (2001) provide four hypotheses as to how
context dependent memory works. They appear as follows; reinstatement is the idea that memory
is better when testing occurs in a reinstated environment as opposed to a different environment
(Smith Vela, 2001) and this is true across all studies (Smith Vela, 2001), outshining implies that non
contextual cues when used for guiding memory often diminish or eliminate the effects of contextual
cues (Smith Vela, 2001), Overshadowing is the concept that if one s incidental environmental
context is suppressed during learning, then environmental information will not be encoded and
stored in memory, thereby reducing or eliminating effects of experimenter manipulated
environments on memory (Smith Vela, 2001), and finally mental reinstatement

6. How Does Goal Displacement Affect Society
Everyone has those times when they wonder about where they are in life and if they truly are
doing the best they are capable of. That statement there is one of the most glossed over issues in
society. We are always told what needs to be done, and how to get it done in good quality and
time. Businesses and people in general are relying more and more on goaloriented ideals, which isn
t a bad thing, except for when it becomes a straight routine and monotonous. Then we have the
problem of goal displacement. Goal displacement is the process that occurs when the rules become
an end in themselves rather than a means to an end and organizational survival becomes more

goal displacement. Although, by far this is the hardest portion of society to tell signs because
each person has very different lives, and goes about them differently too. But just the same, the
signs are there when you look at the public on a larger scale. So many people have an

7. Racial Profiling by Police is Not Justified Essay
Even the United States struggles with issues of racial discrimination despite being a society
highly based on immigrants and multicultural diversity. On one hand, people frown on treatment
based on race, whether that is on an individual or group level. On the other, people are tired and
annoyed by the seemingly constant call of discrimination. All of these feelings culminate into the
debate pertaining to the use of racial profiling. Likewise, there are some individuals that hold a
certain level of acceptance in regard to racial profiling. However, what is lost in the process
because of that acceptance? There are many components that need to be thought about in reference
to the use of racial profiling. In addition, it can be viewed... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

In relation to the debate of racial profiling, Taylor and Whitney define racial profiling as the
practice of questioning blacks in disproportionate numbers in expectation that they are more likely
than people of other races to be criminals (Taylor Whitney, 2002). Statistics show that African
Americans and Hispanics commit more crime than Caucasians, with 90% of the 1.7 million
interracial crimes stemming from the hands of African American men. Even looking at these
numbers, does that make it okay for the police to arrest and interrogate these racial minorities at
such a high frequency? Where are these statistics coming from? How accurate are they? Does the
media provide a skewed analysis of these findings? These are the types of questions that need to be
addressed in regard to evaluating the validity of racial profiling.
The annual National Crime Victimization Survey (NCVS) has been the primary method for
gathering data and providing these staggering statistics. The NCVS provides information gathered
from the victim, which includes information on crimes that went unreported to the police. The

So I heard about an old travelling pastor, perhaps you heard about him too. Back in the 17 and

vacancies there were pastors who would get on their horse and ride from one town to the next town
filling in for worship services when these individual churches didn t have pastors. Well this
particular pastor was in the middle of this trip between two small towns when he had to stop and
get his horse a drink and food. As he was waiting in the shade of a tree an old farmer came up to
him and said, hey, you a pastor? the pastor of course nodding his head in approval and the pastor
said, nice day, isn t it? The old farmer said sure it s nice for you. You aren t doing any real work.
All you have to do is ride around on that horse thinking about God all day long, while I have to
sweat here in this field and then walk home afterward. I don t think it s right you should have
things so easy while I have to work so hard. The pastor was a bit confused, but not at all offended

9. Morality and Happiness
Morality has been a term of debate for several years by intellectuals who have not come to the final
conclusion of its definition. According to Damon (5), morality is an existing, multifaceted construct
that may not be pinned down by any single definitional criteria which is flexible. The moral
character has long been associated with happinesswhich is that state of having achieved one s
desires although there are some disconnections. Several theories have been forwarded in connection
to moralityand happiness as far as the society is concerned. In this argumentative paper we shall
give detailed analysis of morality and happiness and whether or not moral character is a
requirement to happiness.

An example is if we go out to have fun with friends we will end up being happy in the long term
(Delattre 137). Thus it becomes a requirement that good moral character be observed always in
order to gain a long term happiness without any struggle.
Moreover, the morality, good character and happiness cannot be separated from one another. This
is because to a huge extent we tend to offer as the best individuals to our families, friend and
colleagues who are the source of our happiness. Therefore there is an understanding that we can
enjoy their company when we offer our best morals and support. With this understanding, we
realize that a good moral character is a requirement to true happiness irrespective of the people we
are dealing with. This understanding enables individuals to realize and prevent any moral deviation
so as to maintain happiness with all persons (Delattre 137).
According to the philosophy of happiness (14, 15, 16 amp; 17), Aristotle stated the factors that
make happiness as good health, money, relationships and good moral behavior. Aristotle pointed
out that happiness was the ultimate desire for human being leaving nothing more to be desired.
The happiness is sought for its own sake unlike other things which are sought in order to achieve
happiness. Aristotle understood that for an individual to be happy one must be of good morals and
can suffer to achieve the greater happiness later in the long run. Many individuals believe that

10. How Failure Has Changed Over The Centries
The way in which failure has been viewed has changed over the centries. As early as ancient
Athens, we have seen records of how failure is seen from time to time and society to society. Just
them as a comparative to our society recognizes the cultural difference as well as the time gap
between how we perceive defeat. For instance, Athens used plays to communicate that failing at
something was okay and that we needed to show sympathy and helpfulness to those going through
a rough time. Whereas today, as seen in many cases, dropping out of something, or even not
succeeding is failure; you must do well in something to be respected. In the three sources
presented, recordly, this is the case. Each source reviewed and discussed the art of failing as
something more than just one mistake, that it is many complied onto each other causing, as we see
it, catastrophe. In all three sources, they discusses successand failure seen in today s society, which
were then analyzed through agreement/overlap and disagreement.
To begin, all three sources overlap/agree with the same message, that failure is common, but not
accepted. They all suggest that we should learn to become acquainted with it. The more you
recognize what you re not good at and fix it (whether it be dropping it or applying a method) the
faster you can find things you are good at. And, they all state this with reason to support the chance
that appears. For instance, in Outliers, Gladwell explains the chance of a plane crash.

analyzing the content, format, and context of the article, it becomes clear how Inquisitr conveys
their own message and intends for the crime to be represented in a particular, calculated way. First,

The context of production and the context of consumption are the two dimensions that are relevant
to the reason the message is being communicated. The fact that the only information about the
writer of the article is a first name at the bottom of the page signifies that who wrote the article is
not significant, but who owns it may be. Inquisitr, the media outlet producing the representation, is
a news website whose goal is to publish the latest trending news and to ensure that readers never
miss the internet s hottest stories. According to the available audience demographics, the most
popular section that readers browse is the celebrity and entertainment section and the site s target

Political Participation For many American citizens, one of the great aspects of our culture is the
ability individuals have to take part in the political system. Whether it be voting for a new
president, participating in a protest or serving their jury duty, the American people can be certain
they will have an impact on the outcomes. Like numerous other people, there is a sense of pride
and importance to contribute to their community as well as be active members of society. These
activities are specifically called political participation. There are many forms of political
participation such as voting, protesting, town hall meetings, and jury duty.
Voting is commonly thought to be the single most important form of political participation. It is a
unique political act because it allows for the views of more people to be represented than any other
form of political participation. Every citizen over the age of eighteen is allowed one vote and must
register beforehand. Voter turnoutdepends on what type of election is occurring. There is a large
number of elections going on every year such as general elections, local elections, and statewide
offices. The presidential election is the one that has the best turnout but even then it is still not that
high. Many people see it as an individual s duty to their country to vote but this can also depend on

Working with people in the corporate world and understanding social behaviors is without a

Idealistically I would love to see myself in a position where it would be intrinsically as well as

14. Displacement Reactions And The Single Displacement Reaction
Introduction
There are two types of displacement reactions : One type is called the single displacement reaction,
the other is called the double displacement reaction. During a single displacement reaction, an
element substitutes another element in a compound, creating a new element and a new compound
as products. In most single displacement reactions, either a metal replaces another metal, or a non
metal replaces another non metal. The more reactive element takes the place of the less reactive
element in the compound, otherwise the reaction will not occur. The general chemical equations of
single displacement can be: A (metal) + BC в†’ AC + B,
A (non metal) + BC в†’ BA + C. Double displacement reaction is a chemical reaction
, where the
positive ions of two different chemical compounds exchange and produce two new compounds.
The products may contain a precipitate. The general chemical equation of double displacement is:
AB+ CD в†’ AD + CB
The purpose of the lab is to observe the reactants and the products of three chemical reactions and
determine which type of reaction occurs in each chemical reaction.
The solubility tables can be used to help better determine the reaction types. The solubility tables
refer to the solubility of ionic compounds in water. By using the solubility tables, we can know
whether a compound is soluble or insoluble.

One of the last Shakespearean works of Elizabethan England, A Midsummer Night s Dream is
laced with a progressive line of feminism, which is coupled with an air of sexual freedom that
would have been very much in line with the views of the ageing monarch, and may have been
written as a tribute to her rule. Although such a feat would be considered remarkably progressive at
the time, Shakespeare s conservative plebeian audience still obligated him to include a more
traditional ending.
As argued by Joyce Moss and George Wilson, the queen s majesty is even directly mentioned in
the play when there is talk of a fair vestal throned by the west (Midsummer Night s Dream,

An optimist is someone thinks on planet number five ... mankind will be less bloody. A pessimist is

the eternal return or a single existence. But behind all of these oppositions stands the opposition of

The concept of eternal return is first introduced through warfare analogies, where a war between
two African kingdoms in the fourteenth century happened only once and that it will [turn] into
mere words, theories, lighter than feather (3, 4), whereas if the [war] were to recur eternally , it
will be considered eternal return and it would become a solid mass, permanently protuberant (4,
4). Something that happened only once will be lost in its inanity to history, but something that
reoccurs gains weight and becomes permanent. Thus, something could only be classified as
eternal return if it occurs endlessly and adds weight in history. Kundera reiterates by saying that
a Robespierre who occurs only once is history and a Robespierre who eternally returns, chopping
off French heads (4) have infinite differences. Using Robespierre and his shocking guillotine in a
humorous context of eternal return, Kundera manages to express his idea of weight in eternal
return as well as mock history of its foolishness. Throughout the book, however, the idea of
eternal return comes as the motif of birds of fortuity, as Tereza felt The birds of fortuity had
alighted once more , and that she was impelled by the birds of fortuity fluttering down on her

Time is a permanent fixture in our world. It is with us the moment we take our first breath and
when we close our eyes for the last time. We use it to arrange events, change our appearance to

explores our relationship with time, and our aspiration to rebel against it, in her works Museum

and various objects of cultural and historical significance are collected and displayed to help
give a better understanding of the past. The poem Museum (30) speaks of various objects and
their relationship to humans, and how they have outlived their human counterparts. The crown
has outlasted the head. / The hand has lost out to the glove. / The right shoe has defeated the
foot. (16) Although we ultimately accept that humans cannot defeat time, we can use these
items as a means of achieving immortality. Szymborska offers a different perspective on how we
try to influence and organize these detritus items through rhyme. Ire (5) and hour (6), celebrate,
(11) and date (12) are all an emotion or a reference to time. These contrasts highlights the fact
that time is out of our control. The specific references to numbers, a way we place emphasis on
the significance of objects through time, are arbitrary. There are some three hundred years (3)
or the ellipsis and line break emphasises the fact that Eight (11) is irrelevant, this human attempt
at order is proven futile. Szymborska acknowledges that humans know we cannot physically
preserve ourselves, we can t defeat time, so instead humans have preserved themselves through

20. Essay on Organizational Change at NASA
NASA Organizational Change
A review of the external and internal threats will help determine the weakness of the problem
analysis related to the launching of space shuttle Challenger. At the time of the accident, the country
was experiencing an economic slowdown. Considering the economic climate, Congress wanted to
know if the American people still support the huge requirements of the program. The government
ruled out increase in taxes being an election year. Simultaneous to the congressional investigation
was a launch of space shuttle Challenger. The National Aeronautics and Space Administration
(NASA) wanted a successful launch. A no launch situation might convince Congress to slash the
program s budget. Furthermore, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Other possible outcomes could have surfaced with the reframing of the problem. At this point, it is
not important if ultimate problem was one of the possible outcomes. What is valuable to NASA is
that there is free flow of communication among its employees who are receptive to ideas due to the
logic of any proposed outcome.
The group of administrators led by Dr. Loyal downplayed the technical considerations and
believed launch should proceed. It got support from smaller groups involved in the lobbying
efforts who naturally would like the launch to proceed as scheduled (confirming evidence trap).
Getting the support was a selfish move since the outcome would definitely be in Dr. Loyal s favor.
The internal goals of each group should have been considered in the decision. The administrative
group anted a launch while the engineering group wanted a postponement. Are they the only groups
a giant organization NASA has? Truly, other groups in NASA, with their respective interest, exist
and who may help add to the factors for consideration. On these bases, alternatives generation can
improve. Two questions that may have cropped up: Will a launch postponement result in a budget
slash? Will a launch problem endanger the very existence of the space shuttle program?

21. Psychology Of The Piece Of Literature
Psychoanalysis is a type of criticism focused on the psychology of the piece of literature.
Through the analysis of the psychology behind a work, a conclusion can be made about it s
meaning. Psychoanalysis plays a huge role in the play Hamlet. In Hamlet, William Shakespeare
utilizes id, ego, superego, the oedipal complex, and depression to show how Old King Hamlets
murder and Gertrude s marriage to Claudius causes Hamlet to eventually go mad.
Sigmund Freud coined the term Oedipal Complex to describe a phenomenon he observed where
the child has sexual feelings of desire for the parent of the opposite gender and has feelings of
hostility and jealously towards the parent of the same sex. The child feels as if they are in a
competition with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Because of this fear, the boy develops castration anxiety. Since the father is receiving the attention
of the mother, the boy then sets out to become like the father. He imitates and partakes in dad type
behaviors. This act is referred to as identification and how the boy gets over the Oedipal Complex.
This phenomenon is shown through the play Hamlet. Hamlet is extremely jealous of the attention
that his mother, Gertrude, has shown to both his father, Old King Hamlet, and his uncle and new
step father, Claudius. Hamlet says,
Must I remember? Why, she would hang on him
As if increase of appetite had grown
By what it fed on, and yet, within a month
Let me not think on t. Frailty, thy name is woman!
A little month, or ere those shoes were old
With which she followed my poor father s body,
Like Niobe, all tears. Why she, even she
O God, a beast that wants discourse of reason
Would have mourned longer married with my uncle (Act I, scene ii, lines 143 153)
What Hamlet is saying in modern English, is that he does not want to remember that. His mother
would hang on to him (Old King Hamlet) and the more she was with him, the more she wanted of
him. But even though she could not get enough of Old King Hamlet when he was alive, she barely
even mourned. She was almost immediately married to Claudius. This quote from Hamlet is

Coffee rust disease is the greatest threat to the coffee industry worldwide and has the potential to
improve or hurt Brazil s economy while having a significant impact on the United States. Coffee
is second only to petroleum for exports in developing countries. Over 500 billion cups of coffee are
consumed globally each year. The worldwide coffeesupply comes primarily from Central and
South America accounting for 67 percent of production (Goldschein, 2011). Coffee rust disease is
a wind borne fungus that spreads quickly. Once infected, crop yields are significantly reduced

As the coffee industry in Brazil grew so did the infrastructure of the country. By the 1900 s
coffee made up 70 percent of exports from Brazil. The increased productivity led to an excess in
the market that coupled with diminished demand caused a Brazilian depression and created
discontent with the current political system that led to dictatorship control (E, 2008) (The
Library of Congress, 2010). With the emergence of a more democratic political system and
deregulation other crops developed as important exports. This was further encouraged by the
government due to a need to have a more diversified economy (The Library of Congress, 2010).
Even with shifting production to other crops Brazil remains an important part of the world s coffee

The year is 2019. Many technological advancements have been made, including establishing
colonies on other planets and creating human androids to work on these hazardous planets. Tyrell
Corporation has developed the latest model of androids called the NEXUS 6, referred to as
Replicants. Superior to humans in strength and agility, these androids are used for slave labor
despite having the same level of intelligence as their designers. There is only one flaw in the
NEXUS 6 models they have the ability to develop humanemotions and thus, develop the
understanding that they are being used as slaves. Many revolts have already taken place as the
Replicants become more aware. The only fail safe to stop this is the lifespan of the androids. The
engineers only have the androids four years to live, preventing them from developing too many
emotions or too much humanity. Those who do develop a sense of personhood attempt to escape
bondage and travel to earth in search of their creators. This has been ruled illegal and a special
police force, Blade Runner, is created to hunt down Replicants who have come to earth and

None of us could completely understand or experience the hardships and miseries experienced
by the people during the Great Depression. However, E.Y. (Yip) Harburg the Legendary Lyricist
of the 1930 s gives us a large picture of it in his song Brother Can You Spare a Dime (Chochran

romanticism. In every lyric he writes, he consistently [views it] as a means for expressing his
opinions against war and in favor of racial equality and economic justice (Chochran 285). His

Unemployed, hungry, and homeless, the people were desperate to find money to support their
family, as Harburg depicts in his song. People began blaming themselves for their misfortune.
They believed that success went to those who worked hard and deserved it (Cook, Karan 415).
Therefore, people blamed themselves for the loss of their jobs and the inability to support their
families during this economic crisis. This sense of self blame and self doubt was perhaps the
reason for an increase in suicide rates during this period (Cook, Karan 415). It was during this
event that Harburg wrote his song, Brother, Can You Spare a Dime? , that represented the
struggles the people were going through. As the song represented all of the Americans who
built the great nation, those who had earth to plow or guns to bear (3) and those who built a
railroad (9) or built a tower (13) many were able to identify themselves with the singer and
perhaps had a much deeper understanding of the song s meaning. Harburg strengthens his

advances in science and technology that elevated our quality of life to the standard we enjoy today.
Like so many other trades, the musicindustry benefited greatly from these new innovations. In turn,
this new technologyaltered the sound of music: changing how it was performed, recorded, and

pushed the rifle slowly upward over the parapet, until the cap was visible from the opposite side
of the street. Almost immediately there was a report, and a bullet pierced the center of the cap.
The sniper slanted the rifle forward.. This shows how his intelligence is an essential trait for the
sniper. Being witty and being able to adapt to situations are characteristics soldiers throughout
history have had to have, including today. Using his cap to imitate his head was a way of finding
the enemies position, and more evolved versions of this technique are used today in war zones.
Lastly, the war changed the sniper by misplacing him. The sniper is described as a young person.
His face was the face of a student, thin and aesthetic, but his eyes had the cold gleam of the
fanatic. The use of strong adjectives such as thin and aesthetic and the cold gleam of a fanatic
show how the sniper is misplaced in this environment. Further into the text, youthful guilt became
apparent. The sniper looked at his enemy falling and he shuddered. The lust of battle died in him.
He became bitten with remorse. This use of metaphor shows the reader how quickly his emotions
change, showing his guilt and regret for what he has done. Lastly, the snipers curiosity was
influenced, as he felt he needed to find out the identity of his victim. He felt this because of how the

One of the key differences between the US health system and Cuba health system is that Cuba

Why do we assess children? Upon looking for the meaning of Assessments on the NAEYC website,
I came across several different reasons to way it is important. Assessment is defined as the
measurement of what students are learning. Student achievement is defined as how well they ve
mastered certain target skills. Assessments provide educators with both objective and subjective
data in order to ascertain student progress and skill mastery. No matter what we are doing in the
classroom with our students around we are doing some type of assessment. Now NAEYC says.
Assessments help teachers plan appropriately challenging curriculum and tailor instruction that
responds to each child s strengths and needs. Assessments can also help teachers identify children
with disabilities and ensuring that they receive needed services. And also, Assessment methods are
appropriate for each child s age and level of development and encompass all areas of development,

Informal assessment has to do with the way that they play, the language that is being used, and
how they react to the environment that is around them. While doing this you are taking notes,

the child or if they are some things that need o be changed. Formal assessment has to deal with

Home
All men experience a drop in their levels of testosterone as they age. This usually begins as soon as
they are in their early 30 s. And though aging is nothing to fear, this natural diminishing of the
hormone causes unwanted side effects that can affect a man s fertility, sexuality, and health. This is
because low testosterone levels can lead to estrogen dominance in a man, and a hormone imbalance
is created. But to raise the testosterone levels, one must also lower the estrogen levels. Because of
this, some men are starting to use a natural anti estrogen product to help them regain their sense of
masculinity, so they look and feel younger.

Just as some people think that testosterone is strictly ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Answer: There are many estroblockers available on the market. They all have different ingredients
and attributes that make them. To find the best one for you, do some research on each of them. But
be sure to only take the natural based kind because other pharmaceutical types can have some
dangerous side effects to them.
Question: Will changes to my estrogen levels affect my fertility?
Answer: Too much estrogen in a man s body decreases his sperm count and can also cause
impotence or difficulty performing sexually. By lowering high levels of estrogen, these negative
effects are reversed, so a man s fertility is improved.
Question: Will lowering my estrogen help with my acne?
Answer: Acne can be caused by an imbalance of hormones in the body, so by correcting this
imbalance, many men will find that their skin becomes clearer. However, initially there might be
an increase in acne until the hormones level out. Keeping the skin clean and free from oil and dirt
will also help to reduce blemishes though.

42. The Topic Of Representation And Stereotypes
For this essay I have chosen to write about the topic of Representation and stereotypes . Using a
media example I will be exploring the concept of why stereotypes are used so commonly and do
they really matter. Through my research, I hope to provide substantial evidence, which backup my
points throughout and give the reader a clear understanding of how stereotypes are used in my
chosen piece of media text.
Stereotypes have always been around it s not a new concept people are only discovering recently.
Stereotyping is people s thoughts on others not like themselves. It s when an individual is judged
on their characteristics and put into a certain group reflecting them. Individuals are generally
judged on religion, gender, race and sexual orientation. These are just a few categories that exist
in stereotyping, however the main two forms that cause a lot of controversy are sex and race. A
few well known examples of sex and race stereotypes are...
All women are bad drivers
Black people are good at sports
Men are strong and do all the work
Women should be in the kitchen
These stereotypes are so commonly used it s now the norm way of thinking. Stereotyping is
basically making an assumption on a group of people without knowing them. This type of thought
process reflects the most traditional conceptualization of stereotypes within social psychology, in
which stereotypes are considered to be the picture in the head of individuals looking into their
social worlds

43. Mixed Market Systems In The United States
In a society that values a wide range of customs, traditions, and hierarchies, a thorough
understanding of these systems can potentially result in success within a community as well as
ones own life. Here in the United States, we lived in a mixed market system. We hold many
liberties in terms of all aspects of our lives, such as the our decision of what we need, what we
want, what we do, and how it is done. In a mixed market economy, we also have the option to
own a business, if we so chose to, or we can choose to be employed by another. Our lives here in
the United States are determined solely by our decisions. Financially, we are in charge of the
wealth we accumulate. We may choose to make a withdrawal from the bank, or we can make a
deposit.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Actions from both parties determine the state of the economy compared to the economies of other
countries, such as North Korea and Cuba. In these countries, they thrive in a command economy,
which encourages complete control of the economy and aspects of the citizens lives by the
government. This type of economy encourages equality between all citizens and many
restrictions are placed on individuals, including the inability to own a private business. In
America, however, most of the economy is controlled by the citizens, and we are able to start or
own a business if we so choose. Because of this freedom, it allowed Gates to start a business
alongside his close comrade, Paul Allen. They would not have been able to accomplish this feat if
they lived in a country which supported a command economy. Also, in a MME, free enterprise is
supported, which allows for economic control by the people and their privately owned businesses. It
allows individuals to completely regulate their businesses, such as the price of a product, which lets
businesses compete fairly. Although Mr. Gates thrived in his business, the opportunity of
competition with other technological companies contributed to his success. It allowed him to learn
and improve his product. An example of competition Microsoft had to face was Apple, the
company that developed and produced the idea of all Apple products such as the iPhone and the
iPad. Microsoft also shared a bit of competition with Google. In the early years, Apple and
Microsoft were close allies, but because of continued technological innovation and similarities
between the two platforms, both companies were drawn apart. The strive to provide a better
product for consumers allowed for learning opportunities which contributed to the success of both
companies. But the influence of free enterprise, which only exists in a mixed

games were more violent toward their colleagues compared to children who do not play any
violent video games. Moreover, studies showed that violent video games teach people that violence
is an acceptable strategy to solve problems. Thus, people who play violent video games have
lower belief in the use of nonviolent strategies. Violent video games also increase the rate of

Statistics showed that 37% of video games are violent, this percentage was the highest among all
types of media.
On the other hand, regarding supporting playing video games, statistics which was made between
1995 and 2008 showed that the rate of crimes committed by teenagers decreased by 71.9%.
Moreover, the arrest rate for all crimes declined 49.3%.
However, the popularity of violent video games around the world in this period increased by four
times. Thus, we can deduce that violent video games do not affect the crime rate as thought.
Furthermore, in 2004, the United States Secret Service made a review about aggression and
attacks in schools. The review showed that only oneeighths of bully student play violent video
games. On the other hand, the other students were interested in other violent types of media such
as violent movies and books. Indeed, violent video games provide a good replacement for
aggressive sports and playing. Thus, teenagers can express aggression through violent video games

49. Nitrate-Nitrite
The nitrate nitrite NO pathway can have beneficial health effects. Dietary nitrate has been shown to
improve the mitochondrial functioning as it affects proteins involved in uncoupling contributing to
an increase performance in exercise. The pathway begins through consumption of dietary nitrates
that are converted to nitrites by bacteria in the oral cavity. The reduction of nitrates to nitrites may
affect hemoglobin. Excess nitrites added to deoxygenated hemoglobin will oxidize to form
methemoglobin and nitric oxide(Gladwin Kim Shapiro,
2008). This formation can hinder oxygen transport and is the common cause for concern in nitrite
toxicity. Formation of nitric oxide allows for its use and reuse in cellular activities and may carry out

The body must go through chemical processes for healthy cellular function and homeostasis.
Human beings not only consume dietary nitrates but, the body also synthesizes nitrates
endogenously. This arises from the oxidation of nitrogenoxide and its end products. The synthesis
of nitrates to nitrites occurs endogenously and exogenously in the body. Consumption of inorganic
nitrates and nitrites will undergo reductive processes for the body s use and elimination. Nitrates
and Nitrites both contain nitrogen in its chemical structure. Nitrogen, in of itself, is often conserved
to be reused by the body s cells. Inorganic nitrates and nitrates that are consumed must be equally
eliminated. The metabolism of nitrates and nitrites ultimately result in its elimination through
salivary excretion or urination. Ingestion of inorganic nitrates will first undergo reductive activity
in the oral cavity through the bacteria present on the tongue. The metabolism continues until nitrites
are converted to nitric oxide where it enters the circulatory system and distributed to different target
tissues. The concentration of nitrites in the salivary glands account for 25% of total dietary intake
of nitrates (Gehle, 2007). The remaining concentration of nitrites are distributed in circulation and
eventually eliminated through the urine. Each route of elimination helps to rid the body of
potentially toxic

50. Soccer Community Description Of Soccer Essay
UCF Soccer Community Description
Soccer consists of many important text and lexis, the first being the rulebook for soccer. It
consists of how to play soccer, what you can and cannot do during a game, and the setup for the
team: 11 players on the field, 2 teams, 3 4 referees, and as many backup players on the bench.
The importance of this text is how the lexis is incorporated into literacy. The goal of the rulebook
is to guide a new player on how to play the game, but most importantly it will build how they
interpret the game and how those interpretation of the rules spread into their life. Players learn
how to be more perceptive of what is happening around them and this helps to stimulate their
brains. But how do players perceive what going on on the field? They read a playbook.
Playbooks contain names and descriptions of many common and intricate soccer plays. This
may consist of: bicycle kicks a player throwing both feet in the air as a ball is approaching on the
fly, while moving the legs with a pedaling motion to kick the ball in the opposite direction to
which the player is facing, with the player usually ending up sprawled on the ground, chip kicking
the ball right over the goalies head, or volley strike or kick (the ball) before it touches the ground.
These types of plays help players connect their minds with the ball, building their knowledge and
eventually, literacy. The last important text is motivating speeches. These are so important because

The Effect Of The Concentration Of A Substance On The Rate Of Reaction
Year 9 Chemistry Assignment Term 3
Introduction
The purpose of this experiment was to measure and interpret the effect of a chemical
concentration on a reaction rate. A collision theory is a theory proposed by Max Trautz and
William Lewis that states: qualitatively explains how chemical reactions occur and why reaction
rates differ for different chemical reactions (Wikipedia, 2015). An example of collision theory is
when two motor vehicles collide with one another creating a large impact as the particles combine
with one another due to the large impact created. A chemical reactionis a process that involves the
rearrangement of the molecular and ionic structure of a substance when the interaction of two
or more chemicals is compounded to create a new substance (Middle School Chemistry, 2015).
An example of a chemical reaction is when a bike begins to rust or when photosynthesis takes
place (Uen.org, 2015). The different types of Molars used in the experiment affected the speed
of the reactions of the acid. These times varied on the amount of concentration used in the
molars. This was shown in the results of the experiment as the 2Molar gave an average time of
23.88 seconds, for the water to decrease to 30 ml in the test tube. The 1Molar gave an average
54.94 seconds to reach 30 ml of water in the test tube, and the 0.5Molar displayed an average time
of 3 minutes 13 seconds to reach 30 mL.

our society become a totalitarian wasteland? Nineteen Eighty Four is a dystopian novel, taking
place in what Orwell calls Airstrip One, or what is known today as England. When one closely
observes the happenings in today s world, one can see evidence of the Orwellian predictions that
are established in the book. With those events, there are many parallels between Nineteen Eighty

In Nineteen Eighty Four, culture is very limited for members of the Party. The Party makes all
music, literature, and art. Without the stimulation of the mind, one becomes lost in a state of
being, without thinking about what they are doing. With respect to Ishmael Beah s A Long
Way Gone, the topic of burning villages is reoccurred frequently. Specifically, Beah recalls when
a group of rebels burned the village and killed everyone inside, including his family. One rebel
tells that they burned about three villages today. (Beah 97). Another rebel agrees, three is
impressive, in just a few hours in the afternoon (Beah 97). He then adds that he especially enjoyed
burning this village. [They] caught everyone here. No one escaped. That is how good it was.
[They] carried out the command and executed everyone (Beah 97). When one reads the rebels
saying these things, the reader instantly thinks of those who died so violently. However, something
else died along with the villagers, and that was the village s culture. All of the stories, art, and
music that took centuries to create were destroyed within hours. One could infer that with culture, it
allows those without power to gain it, which is why the Party molded it to fit their needs, and the
rebels destroying it

Correctional Officers are a very important part of the Justice System because it keeps high profile
