Witnessing the communication among the: interdisciplinary team, HCP, Nurse Practitioners, Lab
technicians, and others was great. Every time the patient or family member requested to speak to the
HCP, my nurse would page the HCP through the computer and the HCP would be calling or showing
up to the patient s bedside. If my nurse questioned an order and began to be concerned, she would
contact the HCP, and await confirmation by the HCP to provide reassurance regarding any concern. As
a nurse, you provide comfort and answer any question the patient asks to relieve their anxiety. My
nurse did an exemplary job. Every question the patient or family member had, she answered it with
the correct information and eased their concerns. My communication style impacted in my own way
during my assessment. I was able to communicate with the patient and ask the reason he was admitted
into the hospital. At first, he was startled as to why I was doing my assessment and the questions I
asked towards him. He then began to be more outspoken as I gained his trust. I believe that all the
organized foundation the interdisciplinary team offers facilitates the quality of care toward the patient.
I believe there s always room for improvement. As for myself, and my own professional self
development, I believe I can improve in being more confident when I ask questions towards my
patients. All in

Animal Farm Equality
All animals are equal (11). That s what the animal residents on the human free farm in the book
Animal Farm, by George Orwell (Eric Blair), would like to believe. While it is a positive slogan, by
the end of the book this has completely failed. Based of off the Russian Revolution, this is meant to be
an example of what terrible things could happen when someone unfair takes over, by clearly
displaying the power struggles that the animals face when trying to keep everything equal for
everyone. In the novel Animal Farm, the author demonstrates how total equality between different
classes of people is not possible because of the societal need for a leader, the varying intelligence of
everyone in a society, and different people s levels of self importance. ... Show more content on

Someone, or some pig in the case of Animal Farm, who thinks they are better than everyone else will
try to get to a position of power of leadership, so other people will see that too. A good example can be
found on page 95, The general feeling on the farm was well expressed in a poem titled, Comrade
Napoleon... Napoleon approved of the poem and caused it to be inscribed on the wall of the big barn,
at the opposite end from the Seven Commandments. It was surmounted by a portrait of Napoleon, in
profile, executed by Squealer in white paint . This bit of text displays Napoleon s large ego and how
that affected the way he ruled the farm. Napoleon thinks he is better than everyone else as a leader and
as a pig, so he decided to try and get all the other animals to worship him and the pigs. This explains
why as a leader he was always putting his interests and well being

Why Was The 95 Theses Important
95 Theses Essay:
The 95 Theses on the Power and Efficacy of Indulgences are the things that Martin Luther, a priest
and professor of theology, wrote in 1517 to express what he thought was wrong with the Catholic
Church. The 95 Theses were held in one of Europe s largest collections of holy relics, the All Saints
Church in Wittenberg, Saxony, which was part of the Holy Roman Empire. The 95 Theses were lists
of questions to debate upon. These Theses mostly targeted the validity of the indulgences performed
by the Pope, which were sold to people who thought that paying money erased sin, the authority of the
Pope and the nature of which a person confesses to a priest and is given absolution, or penance, and
even baptisms. But they also attacked how much power the Pope had.
He thought that the Bible was the religious answer and that humans could only reach salvation
through faith alone. This was considered the catalyst to the Protestant Reformation which changed
religious and cultural history in the West. The importance of the 95 Theses was that it got word around
that maybe the Pope was wrong and that the Bible was where you needed to go for answers when you
felt sinful. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Then, they would come home to Luther s church, the city church in Wittenberg, and show him the
documents where they had paid for the forgiveness of their sins and therefore did not have to repent,
which upset Martin Luther greatly. The Theses were to be discussed at a public scholarly debate at the
University of Wittenberg, where Martin Luther had been the theology professor since 1514, and were
posted on October 31, 1517 in Latin. It was later translated into German and widely copied and
printed. He also sent a letter to his church superiors, with a copy of the 95 Theses, hoping to get rid of

Character Analysis Of I Am Sam
Sean Penn plays Sam, in the movie I am Sam. Sam is a man with Autism who has a daughter with a
homeless woman. Sam s partner claims that she only needed a place to stay for the night. The woman
abandoned Sam and their daughter, Lucy soon after giving birth. Lucy was named after a Beetles
song. Which, Sam was infatuated with the Beetles. He believed that the songs and the content within
the lyrics taught life lessons. Sam believed that really, all a person did need is love .
Sam has the intellect of a 7 year old child. His child, Lucy is an intelligent young girl who wishes to
not learn ahead of her dad and wants to stop learning. Sam is doing his best to cope with the
circumstances that he is trying to overcome with his daughter, Lucy.
Sam is resilient and finds several jobs. He worked as a barista at Starbucks and also was a dog walker
to try to prove to attorneys that he is capable of having a job to take care of Lucy. He has a difficulty
keeping his jobs because other employers and individuals throughout the movie undermine his
abilities. Sam fought hard to have custody of his daughter. Sam and his friends looked for attorney s to
help Sam defend his right to be an involved parent in Lucy s life.
Rita, his attorney realizes that Sam does not have the income to take proper care of his daughter, let
alone pay her to be his attorney. Rita (which Michelle Pfieffer plays) does not charge Sam for her
attorney services. Later in the movie she realizes that both her and

Exchange Rate and Balance of Payments
1. We chose Japanese Yen as are benchmark exchange rate because Japan is part of the G 10 Countries
with U.S. and one of the major economies in the world. Japan is also a Key U.S. Business Partner in
importing and exporting goods and services. Through our findings we have developed our insight of
the Japanese Yen being very volatile to the dollar. In the graph shown below, we can conclude that
from 1995 till 1999 the Japanese yen was weaker against Dollar. The process has been repeated
between the years 2001 03 and 2006 recent. 2. Balance of Current Account shows one country s

and Japan. Relative PPP describes the difference in the rates of inflation between two nations and
recalculating the exact exchange rate in which it can be hold. Say for example Japan Inflation rate is
7% compare to U.S. 5% so the goods in Japan are more expensive then U.S. but according to Relative
PPP, basket of goods are suppose to cost the same in both countries. For Relative PPP to hold either
U.S Dollar should increase by 2% or Japanese Yen should decrease by 2%, as a result goods in both
countries would have the same cost. Thus we will try to calculate and come up with a solution which
can support Relative PPP between U.S. and Japan. The following steps will help us determine our
answer. We will first determine the weekly Exchange rate between U.S. and Japan in the form of
Yen/Dollar for the span of 6 years, December 1999 till December 2005. Then we will gather weekly
information of Consumer Price Index (CPI) for both countries during the same span. CPI measures the
change in prices for common household goods over time. The data can be collected from Websites like
bls.gov. We will then put all this information together in a spreadsheet format like for example: YEN/$
Japan CPI U.S. CPI Now we have to calculate the inflation rate of both countries using the CPI index.
To calculate the inflation rate we have to

Phonological Awarness
Reading is an acquired skill, developed through explicit teaching and founded upon a child s innate
ability to hear and process sounds from birth. Beginning at birth exposure to oral language, gestures
and the functions of communication (Fellows Oakley, 2010 p.165) allows exploration of sounds and
words and their connection to each other, and introduces cue systems that will later assist in decoding
complex text as development of reading ability occurs. Cue systems including linguistic rules of
speech, such as grammatical, pragmatic, semantic and syntactic structures (McDevitt Ormrod, 2004,
p. 324), provide readers with strategies and knowledge for comprehension and phonological

Government Shutdown Pros And Cons
On January 20, 2018, the United States government shutdown when the Extension of Continuing
Appropriations Act of 2018, a bill to fund the federal government, failed to pass Congress. The reason
for this was due to disagreements between Democrats and Republicans on a proposed extension to the
Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) policy incorporated into the bill. In response,
Democrats, those who supported the DACA extension, led a filibuster in the Senate that effectively
halted any legislative progress on the bill. Despite Republicans enacting a a cloture vote, a vote to
forcibly end a filibuster, it failed to garner the sixty votes necessary to end the filibuster. As a result,
the government shutdown will furlough thousands of federal

Who Is Cardiovascular System For Steady State Exercise (...
he cardiovascular system responses to steady state exercise (P4 and M2)
Heart rate is the number of times a person s heart beats per minute. When you are preforming a type of
exercise that will increase your heart rate, then your heart will pump blood all around your body faster
and especially to muscles that are working the most because they require the most oxygen because of
the intensity they are working at. It is vital to take your resting heart rate and the normal heart rate is
60 100bpm. For example, our cardiovascular exercise was cycling on a stationary bike for 20 minutes
at a reasonable pace and this will depend on whether your heart rate will increase at a slow, fast or
steady rate. However, the first 5 minutes we cycled at a very fast pace in order for your heart to pump
more blood all around the body and to the required muscles in order for them to work harder. But the
response is that the heart rate levels off, which means that it becomes steady so that after beginning
the exercise and you re like 5 minutes into it then your heart rate will stay the same or increase by
little bits unless you change the intensity all the time which is not required when doing cardiovascular
exercises.
Stroke volume is the amount of blood pumped by the left ventricle and this is measured in mL/beats.
The average resting stroke volume is 70 mL/beat and this is best measured when you wake up because
you are at you re at full rest meaning you have done nothing to increase your

Caliban snuck onto the ship with the rest of the people going back to Naples because Prospero was
going to leave him on the island alone. Ariel helped the ship the entire way to Naples, making sure no
one got hurt. Once the ship got to Naples, Caliban tried to find a job for a while, but he ended up
becoming an attraction at the carnival. He was named The Peeling Skinned Beast. He was mistreated
and beaten like a wild animal, and he was hardly fed any food at all. Throughout the year, Prospero
has built his own Wizards Tower. Here, Prospero teaches young students magic. Even if his wands and
his books are gone, he still remembers most of the magic so he can teach other young people. Alonso

Prospero went outside to figure out what all of the commotion was. He saw an army of people
marching throughout the kingdom. It was the army of Florence. People were running and screaming in
terror as the army were pointing their guns at innocent civilians. He panicked and told his students to
stay calm and in their seats as he went out to warn Ferdinand and Miranda. Prospero took off out of
the building and started to run towards the castle. While he was running, he saw Caliban beating one
of the soldiers with one of the branches he had collected. Prospero was puzzled at seeing Caliban in
Naples, but he knew he had no time to worry about it, so he continued to run to the castle. Finally he
reached the castle and knocked on the door violently. Before Ferdinand even opened the door fully,
Prospero was hurriedly explaining what was happening. Ferdinand immediately called for the army.
He called for Miranda and told her to stay in their room and that she would be safe there. He called for
Sebastian and Antonio. Prospero, Ferdinand, Sebastian, and Antonio all got ready to fight with the
army. Prospero told them to wait and ran back to the classroom. He told his students to use everything
that they had learned to fight in the war. Some students were uneasy, while others were very excited at
the fact they were able to fight in the war. Prospero and his students ran out of the building and back
to the castle. When they got there, Ferdinand had already gotten Caliban back to the castle. Caliban
was apparently the leader of the army. Everyone knew that Caliban would destroy everybody, but
Ferdinand warned Prospero that Caliban may try to kill their own army of Naples. Prospero said that
he had it all under control, and that he is going to use magic to tame Caliban whenever he even
thought about turning on them. Prospero went towards the platypi and fed them a potion he had stored

The new contractors were very experienced at working with concrete, but lacked the knowledge and
experience with working with steel. Because of this, John Holland only took on the work on the basis
of a labour management contract, which puts them in charge of the labour, but all the engineering
decisions were still up to World Service Constructions. This lead to confusion and lack of
communication between the parties working on the construction of the bridge. Four months prior to
the collapse, a similar design of bridge, also designed by Freeman Fox Partners, collapsed in Milford
Haven, Wales, killing four workers. Understandably, there was a lot of industrial unrest on the
construction site of the Westgate Bridge, although workers had been assured by Freeman Fox Partners
that the design of the Westgate was perfectly safe, but was not supported by any relevant or sufficient
calculations. IV.THE COLLAPSE During the construction, two half spans being assembled 50 meters

that they had ten, eight tonne concrete blocks on site. These were placed halfway along the higher

Stages Of Attachment Of The Infant s Attachment
Stages of attachment. Another of Bowlby s contributions is his proposal that the infant s attachment to
caregiver develops in stages attuned to the infant s cognitive and emotional development. As described
by Broderick Blewitt (2015), a bond emerges from the affect between mother and child in the first two
months as the infant signals their needs by clinging, smiling, and crying. During this stage infants are
not yet attached to anyone and do not discriminate between caregivers. Between their second and
eighth month, infants become increasingly preferential of one caregiver, most often the mother. The
primary indicator of the emerging attachment is whether or not the 7 8 month old infant protests when
separated from their caregiver, and whether they greet the caregivers return with happiness. Soon
thereafter, the infant should begin to develop additional attachments with their fathers, grandparents,
babysitters etc. By 18 months most infants are attached to multiple caregivers (Broderick Blewitt,
2015, p. 135).
Attachment is a system. As mentioned previously, Bowlby also argued that attachment is a system.
Expanding on this, Bowlby proposed that the system serves three purposes; 1) It maintains proximity
between infant and caregiver, nurturing the emotional bond In attachment theory this is known as
proximity maintenance, 2) It provides the potential for on going protection known as a secure base, 3)
It creates a haven for the infant when distressed

Form Of Political Participation

Political Participation For many American citizens, one of the great aspects of our culture is the ability
individuals have to take part in the political system. Whether it be voting for a new president,
participating in a protest or serving their jury duty, the American people can be certain they will have
an impact on the outcomes. Like numerous other people, there is a sense of pride and importance to
contribute to their community as well as be active members of society. These activities are specifically
called political participation. There are many forms of political participation such as voting,
protesting, town hall meetings, and jury duty.
Voting is commonly thought to be the single most important form of political participation. It is a
unique political act because it allows for the views of more people to be represented than any other
form of political participation. Every citizen over the age of eighteen is allowed one vote and must
register beforehand. Voter turnout depends on what type of election is occurring. There is a large
number of elections going on every year such as general elections, local elections, and statewide
offices. The presidential election is the one that has the best turnout but even then it is still not that
high. Many people see it as an individual s duty to their country to vote but this can also depend on the
region someone lives in. Some areas have an established respect for

Madeleine Leininger Nursing Theory
Introduction
As a young girl I have always enjoyed being around people in their time of needs as well as internal
satisfaction by serving those that need my help. In my day to day nursing career, I have encountered
several patients from different cultures and traditions. During my short time caring for people with
diverse cultural background. I have learned that this population involves a lot of complex care; My
nursing interventions focus not only on the patients physical needs, but also their emotional and
spiritual needs. I have always interacted with my patient with caring, kindness, gentleness and
patience. Moreover, I made them feel valued by being kind, compassionate, and ready to listen to their
complaints and frustrations. It give me great pleasure to hear my patient say they had a good day
because of the care I was able to provide them. I found Madeleine Leininger nursing Theory of
Cultural care very helpful and valuable. A major strength of Leininger s theory is the recognition of
the importance of cultures and its influence on patients and providers of nursing care. This research
paper provides me with a good foundation on how to deal with different situations especially when it
comes to different cultures. Making the patient part of the care allows us to be more successful in our
effort.

The Merchant Of Venice By Michael Radford
The Merchant of Venice has never been Hollywood s favorite Shakespeare play. With deep
homoerotic and anti Semitic undertones, the closest thing we ve had to a mainstream version of the
movie was a parody on The Critic called The Merchant of Venice Beach starring Keanu Reeves. Other
than that, the story of the Jew moneylender Shylock and the comic relief relationship between
Bassanio and the cross dressing Portia hasn t hit the silver screen since the silent film days. Films are
hard to make when it comes to adapting from a play that was written nearly four hundred years ago.
Over the past four centuries, there have been many different interpretations of The Merchant of
Venice, hence the film version by Michael Radford. Radford s version of the play catches the tone of
the play but not every scene was transferred to script form, then into the film. It is not all great, but it
does successfully create a friendly of a very daunting play to adapt. I think one of the most crucial
decisions any director for this play has to make is to decide how to present Shylock. If you have ever
heard the term Shylock as a negative term for a Jewish person or slang for a loan shark, then this play
is where it comes from. William Shakespeare wrote this around the sixteenth century which was a
difficult place for any Jewish person to live in. From what I have gathered from reading the play and
watching the movie, the people of Venice despise Jews. They ridicule them,

Examples Of Sanitize In Spotlight
In Spotlight, the filmmakers include a scene where one of the Boston Globe reporters, Sacha Pfeiffer,
is interviewing Joe, one of the survivors. Joe tells Sacha about his first visit to Father Shanley s house,
and how Father Shanley the two play strip poker. Joe says, Of course I lost. And things went on from
there. Sacha asks, What happened specifically? and Joe replies Specifically, he molested me. Sacha
continues, and says, Joe, I think the language here is going to be very important. We can t sanitize this,
just saying molest isn t enough. People need to know what actually happened. I will consider the word
sanitize in this paper, and why the filmmakers chose to use this word and film the scene like they did.

This definition is, to render more acceptable, clean up, as by the removal of undesirable, improper or

related connotation of the first definition, but it makes Sacha s use of the word sanitize seem
especially fitting. Sacha and the Spotlight team have been fighting to expose confidential materials,
seen in their struggle to get the documents unsealed. When Mike gets a tip from Garabedian that the
14 most damning docs are already unsealed because of his public motion to oppose another lawyer s
motion, Garabedian tells Mike the documents are not in the courthouse, where they should be because
the Church doesn t want them to be found. So they are not there. This scene between Mike and
Garabedian highlights what Sacha is doing by saying they cannot sanitize the language. The Church in
the Mike and Garabedian scene has in a way sanitized the record by either of the two definitions they
have cleaned it, expunged it, and omitted unsavory information; in contrast, Sacha does not want to
sanitize , clean up, expunge or omit the language of what happened to Joe. This is why she encourages

the welcoming Gulf. Edna can not understand why she wants to go with Robert down to the water nut
she feels drawn and the conflicting impulses which would steer her away from the proposal seem to

Edna, up until now, had been going through the motions of being a wife, mother and woman in the
society in which she has lived. The ocean to Edna is a place where she feels comfort and although she
does not fully understand why she is drawn to it, she goes. She likes the way the water feels when she
enters it with Robert. It is a new feeling for her.
Edna also finds comfort in spending time with Adele whom she adores. They spend some time
together on the beach to escape Robert one time and talk. The two become close friends. Edna tells
Adele that looking over the beach and the water reminds her of her days in Kentucky as a child. This
time with Adele at the beach looking over the water also helps to further spark Edna s passion as a

Human Testing On Human Beings
Since the beginning of time in the medical field, toxicology has always been a profound question.
What is toxic? And what not toxic. This question has pondered medical professionals for years. The
toxicity of anything varies greatly, what can and is toxic to one person may not be toxic to another,
and so on and so forth, this also includes as to what dosage of certain medicines and chemicals fall
into the toxic category as well. What one person can inquest safely might kill another person? So how
do we determine what is toxic, and how certain chemicals effect humans and animals? The answer is,
we must perform test on something that is similar to the human species. Animals having similar traits
and features in the body have often been the experimentation method of choice. By using animals in
testing has raised a lot of concern and controversy over the years, but so has testing on human beings.
One of the most horrifying examples of human testing was during World War II, the Nazi party in its
quest to create the ultimate human species, performed a lot of testing on the Jews that were in the
concentration camps with horrific results. But one good thing did come from this testing and that was
the general knowledge of what a person could endure resulting in the better treatment of any species
being tested for research purposes. The results from various chemical tests have been carried out for
the benefit in the risks for humans, animals and the environment they are

James Paul Gee Literacy Discourse Analysis
Linguist James Paul Gee introduces the concept of literacy discourse by defining language as both
what an individual says and how they present it. Literary language an important factor to maintaining
academic discourse, because as Gee suggests this influences discourses being used correctly .
Furthermore Gee suggests that in order to follow the intended guidelines correct discourse must say or
write the right thing in the right way while playing the right social role. (pg.6) Indeed, within my
academic experience using discourse here at Wayne State University, I agree with Gees definition of
student s adaptation of behavioral roles set by the institution. For example, students at Wayne State are
expected to achieve a steady progression ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, the language that I use at home is not an acceptable form of academic discourse.
Therefore Gee illustrates the importance of the correct use of secondary discourses as a whole,
because as Gee suggests the demands of socialized institutions that require discourse fluency in
exchange for allowed apprenticeship is essential to maintaining participatory roles. (pg.8)Essentially
these roles as Gee suggests, within secondary discourse establish the characteristics of dominant and
non dominant discourse. Gee explains that dominant discourse requires a level of mastery of which, at
a particular place and time, brings with it the potential acquisition of social goods (pg.8) Contrary to
dominant discourse, non dominant discourse entails the mastery of which often brings solidarity with
a particular social network. (pg.8) In addition to the importance of discourse clarification, mush fake
discourse is defined as pretending to be a native speaker of the discourse. Which is similar to my
experiences with academic discourse as a college student at Wayne State University, by which overall
is not within mastery level. In conclusion, although I consider myself to be a part of the student

Abstract
This investigation explores gentrification within the Trinity Spadina Ward of Toronto. The research
question of To what extent is gentrification present in the Liberty Village neighborhood of Toronto?
largely focuses on redevelopment, land use and population demographics. Based on the comparison of
four indicators between Ward 20 and the City of Toronto, it was hypothesised that gentrification is a
prominent agent of change in the Liberty Village neighborhood.
Property value, overall wealth, education ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Gentrification has a positive effect on a community in the sense that it ameliorates the local economy.
In lower income neighborhoods, the expansion of businesses and creation of jobs is limited by the
deficiency of monetary flow. However, as wealthier residents relocate to the area and invest money in
the community, businesses develop. Overtime, this trend continues and results in economic
development as well as more jobs, which benefits the community. Secondly, the process of
gentrification typically results in a lower crime rate. This is because gentrification involves the
attainment of vacant properties in order to build new developments. Therefore there will be a decrease
in vacant properties which typically attract crime. Additionally, an increase in population results in an
increase in local government revenue from taxes which can be spent on law

Separating Wall Columns Into The Separation Of Liquefied...
A series of articles have been published from the Yeungnam University mainly led by Long and Lee
that relates to the incorporation of dividing wall columns into the separation of liquefied natural gas.
Each base case had slight variances and the proposed dividing wall column design was also
distinctive.
1.5.1.1 First case study
Figure 29 Double Dividing Wall Column for Natural Gas separation (Long and Lee 2011)
In this natural gas liquid (LNG) separation study conducted by Long and Lee (2011), the base
separation system includes a sequence of depropaniser, debutanizer and deisobutanizer which
separated a system the includes ethane, propane, n butane, i butane and heavies (C5+) (Long and Lee
2011). The demethanizer and deethanizer was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This arrangement reduced energy costs by 30.5%, which is a large jump from the previous sequence
but there are no logical explanations provides as to how they reached this particular arrangement. The
three columns were then integrated into a single Agrawal column (figure 20) with a pressure of 14 bar,
but this resulted in the required energy increasing by 13.5% from the conventional sequence showing
the unsuitability of integrating the three columns into one (Long and Lee 2011).
1.5.1.2 Second case study
In a second study conducted by Long and Lee (2012), they aimed at optimising and integrating a
deethanizer and depropaniser, which operate at 30.98 and 17.5 bar respectively. The inspiration of this
particular study came from a patented document conducted in 1996 that presented improvements in
demethanizing and deethanizing stages of Liquefied Natural Gas separation (Manley 1997). This can
be challenging as a balance between a high and low pressure must be found when integrating the two
columns into a single dividing wall column. A high pressure will increase the temperature of the top
stream and lower refrigerant cost but column and equipment wall thickness will have to be
significantly increased. So a balance between the operating and capital cost must be found with the
selection of operating pressure. However Long and Lee (2012) opted to go with a low pressure of
17.5bar to minimise capital costs and reboiler duties resulting in a 31.74% decrease in operating

The Key Role Of Muscles In The Human Body
The spinal column, and muscles around it play a key role in our lives. Most of our structural support in
our back comes from structures called vertebrae. In total the human has 33 vertebrae. The bodies of
the vertebrae rest on intervertebral discs. These discs have a ring of fibrocartilage called annulus
fibrosus with a substance in the center called pulposus. These tissues provide flexibility within the
spinal column. The spinal cord runs through the vertebral foramen of each vertebrae. Some vertebrae
have spinous processes that are located on the posterior of the structures. Within the vertebral foramen
there is fat, areolar connective tissue, and blood vessels. These tissues provide cushioning for the
spinal cord which is a vital part of our survival. The vertebrae can vary in shape and ... Show more

The rotatores are located on the spinous processes of the vertebrae superior to the one of the origin. Its
purpose is to extend the vertebral column and to rotate the column from side to side by contracting the
opposite muscle (Tortora Derrickson, 377). The multifidus is on the laminae of the vertebrae and then
connects to the spinous processes of two to three vertebrae above it s origin ( Transversospinalis
Multifidus. ) This continues all of the way down the spinal column. Its main function is to extend the
column and laterally flex the column while rotating the head to the side by contracting opposite
muscles. The semispinalis thoracis is on the spinous process of the superior four vertebrae and the last
two cervical vertebrae. The semispinalis cervicis, on the other hand, is on the spinous processes of the
first and fifth cervical vertebrae. The purpose of these two muscles is similar to the others. They too
extend the column in their respective regions along with rotating the head to the opposite side of the
contracting

FCT V Whitford Beach Pty Ltd (1982)
Answer no.1
The core of business activity is to gain profit. As these profits are earned form ordinary business
activities, the profits are categorised as ordinary income for the business. However, there are some
cases and scenarios where the business activity may include courses of actions that are not usual for
the business nature. Here, we tried to find the consistency of ordinary income and the proceeds from
these unusual business decisions.
At first we need to assess the characteristics for ordinary income. Ordinary income is generated from
personal exertion (i.e. Salary income), property (rent, interest) and carrying out business activities.
According to ITAA 1997, section 6 5 (1) , the assessable income constitutes income derived from
ordinary concepts. There are some provisions listed under section 10 5 may be effect the treatment of
ordinary income.
In case of FCT v Whitford Beach Pty Ltd (1982), The tax payer, a group of fisherman, acquired a land

Conflict Between The Conflict And Supporting Evidence
Have you ever been a part of a conflict? Perhaps the conflict existed in your home because you want
your children to do chores, but your spouse disagrees, or perhaps you have had a conflict in the
workplace where a co worker, no matter what you said was always in disagreement with you. Whether
at home or work, it is best to resolve conflict as both instances, the conflict could create an uneasy
situation at home or in the workplace and could result in people being hurt, work not be accomplished
or even a physical altercation. Therefore, it is recommended that instead of allowing conflict to
remain, that instead the conflict is resolved For that reason I will describe a conflict within an
organization or team which I am familiar with, identify and describe the source(s) and level of the
conflict and supporting evidence, describe the steps taken to resolve the conflict, describe a minimum
of three conflict outcomes that could reasonably occur as a result of the resolution and the support for
my reasoning for each possible outcome. First I will begin with a basic description of conflict.
Conflict, in my opinion, is when a disagreement occurs between two or more people, someone having
an opposing view or even an internal conflict such as should I eat the entire box of cookies , just to
name a few. In fact, according to Baack (2012), conflict is circumstances in which one party
negatively affects or seeks to negatively affect another party (Sec. 7.3). What this means

Osama Persuasive Speech
On May 2nd, 2011, the people of the United States awoke to some of the best news they would hear
for many years to come; Osama bin Laden had been killed. President Barack Obama delivered the
message at 7:30AM and the country was buzzing about it for weeks after. Osama bin Laden was a
name that every American man, woman, and child knew. On 9 11 01, four planes were hijacked by
terrorists and crashed into strategic locations to sow chaos, confusion, death, and destruction into the
American people. 2,977 innocent Americans died on that fateful day, and the man who decided they
should die and be subject to terror was Osama bin Laden. Since that fateful day, America has donated
massive amounts of time and money to find Osama, and bring him to justice. However, time and time
again he evaded capture and kept us chasing him. In President Obama s Osama bin Laden Killed
speech he dives right into using pathos. He reminds the country of what happened 10 years ago on
9/11 and who was responsible. This is such an effective strategy because 9/11 wasn t an event that
only affected a few people, it was a day that shocked and enraged a nation. Everyone in the nation was
affected. By bringing it back up, Obama rekindles that fire of anger, sadness, and desire for justice in
the audiences hearts. Due to this, everyone is drawn in to everything he says after. President Obama
starts his speech off with this Good evening. Tonight, I can report to the American people and to the

Power Of Music Essay
Music has been around for a very long time. Music has a way of influencing each and every one of us
to do things we don t even realize we are doing. There is a big difference between the power of music
and the influence it has on today s society. The world today is not anywhere near perfect, but music is
there to take away the pain. On the other hand, the power of music is endless. It has the power to make
a grown man break down crying or a heartbroken widow smile. It has a way of letting someone who is
hurting inside let out their feelings for the world to hear and be there for them. There is no end to the
power of music, but music cannot fix everything. Bob Marley once said, One good thing about music.
When it hits you. You feel no pain. The world today is filled with so much hate and sorrow, and music
has a way of reaching those who are down in life. Music has endless ways to inspire and cheer up
anyone. The lyrics of a song are a poem that tells a story whether it be a love song or a rap song. If
everyone would take the time of day to listen to the lyrics they would understand and feel the music
on a whole other level. Although if someone is feeling blue, a rap song probably isn t the one for them.
The melody or the instrumental part of the song is mind blowing. Take out the words and there is just
pure music. It can put someone in a trance of just pure imagination. As Elton John once said, Music
has healing power. It has the ability to take people out of

The Future Of Perovskite Solar Panels
Future Technology In 20 years, our vision is that perovskites will replace the majority of silicon based
solar panels. Perovskite solar cells are composed of perovskite structured compounds, which are any
material with the same crystal structure as calcium titanium oxide (CaTiO3) such as
methylammonium lead halides (CH3NH3PbX3, where X represents iodine, bromine, or chlorine).
This is because the original true perovskite mineral when it was first found (by Gustav Rose in 1839
in the Ural Mountains of Russia) is CaTiO3, so any material with the same crystal structure as the
mineral can also be classified as perovskite. It has the generic form ABX3; A is an organic cation, B is

The efficiency of perovskite solar cells has increased rapidly in the past decade (3.8% in 2009 to
22.1% in 2016), and the speed of this progress in perovskite photovoltaics makes it an attentive focus
on solar energy. In 20 years, our team has a vision that perovskite solar cells will be able to have an
energy efficiency of at least 50% (based off how fast the efficiency has grown just in the last decade).
There are limitations in perovskites today, but as time passes on, it is increasingly possible to break
through those limitations and enable perovskites to have a higher energy efficiency. Breakthroughs
There are many current challenges to perovskite solar cells. One of these is their long term stability.
Typical silicon solar panels are usually guaranteed to last up to 20 years. However, perovskite solar
cells only last for months. Extreme temperatures, humidity, light levels, and weather changes all cause
perovskite cells to decompose. In particular, moisture is a problem as perovskite reacts to water
forming hydrates; the crystal structures are altered in a way so that the perovskites cannot absorb
visible light anymore, and thus, rendering them useless. There has been progress; cells had once only
lasted minutes but now can last a few months, but in order to achieve this team s goal of having

The colonization of the New World was a trying time for the European powers trying to catch up the

Faith Is A Way Of Knowing
Faith plays a strong role in humanity, however, it is a very controversial subject when it is applied to
as a way of knowing. Faith, or undying trust, can be applied to many areas of life in our pursuit of
knowledge; whether it may be for religious purposes or having confidence in world leaders or family
members. Although it does not require physical evidence, faith is based on such strong beliefs that so
many trust it to be the truth. Unfortunately, as human beings, we may not always be correct in our way
of thinking. Questions concerning faith as a way of knowing arise when regarding morals or ethics, as
well as some have a different faith than others. Faith is a more modern approach to a way of knowing,
however, has played such a large part since the beginning of human existence.
While thinking of faith, religion is usually first to come to mind. And it is true, faith plays a large part
in religion. You must have faith that your way of life is the way you are meant to live. As previously
stated, faith does not require empirical evidence, however not having any evidence is justified in the
individual s life. In many religions, faith offers structure to its follower s lives, which helps guide
them into the right direction. In addition to this, who are we to tell an individual that their faith is not
properly justified, therefore, cannot be absolute truth? Religion and its practices have been carried out
for centuries; it helps individuals understand how and why we are

understanding of what mental health is and how it effects a person in their daily life. Due to the
already limited understanding of mental health, it is often glamorized or portrayed in an over
exaggerated manner with heavy influence on the close ups and different kinds of camera angles in
order to express the insanity of a particular character or characters. The films My Friend Dahmer and
The Fire Within, a French film directed by Louis Malle, introduce characters with mental illnesses in
different eras of Hollywood media. The two films utilize cinematography and narrative to express the
mental health issues impeding the two protagonists. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While movies, newspapers, magazines, television shows, books, radio programs, and advertisements
have all been vehicles for communicating the experience of...mental illness it usually [tends] to be a
misrepresentation of the experience (Corrigan 201). This has a major negative impact on people
suffering from mental illnesses because they feel sentiments of societal scorn and discrimination
which ultimately leads to diminished self esteem, fear of pursuing one s goals, and loss of social
opportunities (Corrigan 201). There seems to be a revival in the world of movies and television of
depicting forms of exploring the minds of serial killers which started in the 60s with the creation of
the Horror film genre. There is almost a strange fascination amongst audiences to know more about
the minds of murderers and those who are too sick to see the wrong they are doing. Films depicting
mental health have a great impact on the lives of those suffering from mental illness and also the
perceptions of those who do not suffer from mental illness. The mostly negative stigma surrounding
those who suffer from mental disorders gives them a bad reputation that impacts most aspects of their
lives. My Friend Dahmer explores the beginnings of serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer s mental sickness and
how, though he tries to suppress his tendencies, he

The Incumbency Effect
The incumbency effect is someone staying in office because of the benefits they receive from it.
According to the notes, this incumbency effect if more advantageous for members of the House than
the Senate, but advantages are still high for both chambers. Some big advantage incumbents have are
they were already previously elected so their name is more well known amongst voters. Also, people
are more likely to donate to a candidate that has one before and in return that incumbent gets more
funding than a new candidate. The biggest and most important advantage incumbents have is franking.
Since they are in office, they have access to free postage and publication costs and can mail to all
residence in their district to remind the potential voters

Worth noticing is how Toyota outperforms most competitors until 2009 when they instead showed the
poorest operating margin. For all compared companies, 2009 is the worst year and only VW and
BMW are able to generate a positive OM. Operating Margin | 2004 | 2005 | 2006 | 2007 | 2008 | 2009 |
BMW | 8,4% | 8,1% | 8,3% | 7,5% | 1,7% | 0,6% | Daimler | 2,7% | 1,5% | 1,4% | 7,9% | 5,4% | 1,9% |

When comparing the Inventory Turnover, Toyota is outstanding in its performance just as known to
be. BMW had the second highest inventory turnover in 2009, which has improved continuously
throughout the measured time (worst in 2004). For Daimler and Volkswagen the trend is instead
negative.

The cash conversion cycle within the industry is extremely volatile. Toyota, known for its excellent
logistics, has been able to outperform most competitors. For BMW the figure is bleak although
Daimler is in serious trouble with 117 days in its conversion cycle. Cash conversion cycle | 2004 |

Native American Men Stereotypes Analysis
Short Assignment #2 When discussing characters in film and television, portrayals almost always
contain some sort of stereotype. This is especially true of male characters whose qualities are often
shaped around anger and aggression. We can see individuals across genres shown with repeated
motivations, actions, and appearances. These depictions delve even further into stereotyping when we
begin to examine characters who are also people of color. The media often depicts people of color in
tropes based on their racial and ethnic identities, and these tropes are usually offensive and
demeaning. People of color are usually shown in two ways; more aggressive and violent than the
white hero, or less aggressive and violent without imposing a physical threat. Either depiction is meant

The X Files are television show that tracks the adventures of FBI Agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully.
In the episode Anasazi, Scully and Mulder follow a case that leads them to a Navajo Reservation in
New Mexico. Here they are greeted by a group of helpful Native Americans, depicted as stoic, wise,
and in touch with the earth. During the episode Mulder is severely wounded, and relies on rituals from
the Navajo to keep him alive. When I was younger I was often perplexed by stereotypical depictions
of Native Americans in the media. Most of my family is Native American, and while I am not native
myself I was always confused because they never acted in stereotypical ways. Now that I am older
and have began to analyze the portrayal of people of color, I have started to notice the fetishization of
these individuals and their association with nature and mysticism. When associating people of color
with mystical roles, these powers are often meant to aide a usually white hero with no gain for the
person of color. These characters also pose no threat to the hero, and have no existence outside of
aiding the

My Spanish Standoff Analysis
The Benefits of Being Bilingual My Spanish Standoff by Gabriella Kuntz explains how the fear of
prejudice against Latin America in the United States led her and her husband to avoid speaking and
teaching their children Spanish. One reason that she decides not to teach her native language to her
children is because she saw how the Anglo Saxons in the community treated her because of her dark
complexion, brown eyes and black hair. Another reason, she mentions involves the fact that her
children developed accents and were unable to understand either language completely. Because of
this, Kuntz decides only to speak to them in English to prevent others from criticizing her children for
speaking with broken grammar and thick accents. She believes

The Effect Of Automatic Processes Interfering With...
Whether your mom is telling you a list of chores to do while you are watching your favorite TV show
or studying for an exam in a noisy room, these are common occurrences that may be affecting you in
ways you don t realize. What people may not know is how these instances could cause hindrances
when processing information; this is an underlying problem and has been known as interference.
When you have attention on more than one thing you may be experiencing interference and this can
inhibit cognitive processes. The effects of automatic processes interfering with controlled processes
have been known to have been tested through something called a Stroop experiment. The
revolutionary study by, Stroop (1935) used 5 different colors; purple, brown, green, blue, and red in a
color word naming task. Subjects had to say the color of the word while it was printed in different
color ink. For example, the word blue would be written in the color red. They first did this using the
colored words and then repeated the process with the words printed in black. They found that the
colored word condition suggested a 2.3s longer reaction time than the black word condition. This is
due to the inference of automatic word reading in the color word condition. Previous research also
suggests that there can be interference with the use of the symbol of an arrow or the written words
right and left in an experiment conducted by, Baldo, Shimamura, and Prinzmetal (1998). Their
findings suggested

If my nurse questioned an order and began to be concerned, she would contact the HCP, and await confirmation by the HCP to provide reassurance regarding any concern. As a nurse, you provide comfort and answer any question the patient asks to relieve their anxiety. My nurse did an exemplary job. Every question the patient or family member had, she answered it with the correct information and eased their concerns. My communication style impacted in my own way during my assessment. I was able to communicate with the patient and ask the reason he was admitted into the hospital. At first, he was startled as to why I was doing my assessment and the questions I asked towards him. He then began to be more outspoken as I gained his trust. I believe that all the organized foundation the interdisciplinary team offers facilitates the quality of care toward the patient. I believe there s always room for improvement. As for myself, and my own professional self development, I believe I can improve in being more confident when I ask questions towards my patients. • 5. Why Was The 95 Theses Important 95 Theses Essay: The 95 Theses on the Power and Efficacy of Indulgences are the things that Martin Luther, a priest and professor of theology, wrote in 1517 to express what he thought was wrong with the Catholic Church. The 95 Theses were held in one of Europe s largest collections of holy relics, the All Saints Church in Wittenberg, Saxony, which was part of the Holy Roman Empire. The 95 Theses were lists of questions to debate upon. These Theses mostly targeted the validity of the indulgences performed by the Pope, which were sold to people who thought that paying money erased sin, the authority of the Pope and the nature of which a person confesses to a priest and is given absolution, or penance, and even baptisms. But they also attacked how much power the Pope had. He thought that the Bible was the religious answer and that humans could only reach salvation through faith alone. This was considered the catalyst to the Protestant Reformation which changed religious and cultural history in the West. The importance of the 95 Theses was that it got word around that maybe the Pope was wrong and that the Bible was where you needed to go for answers when you felt sinful. ... Relative PPP describes the difference in the rates of inflation between two nations and recalculating the exact exchange rate in which it can be hold. Say for example Japan Inflation rate is 7% compare to U.S. 5% so the goods in Japan are more expensive then U.S. but according to Relative PPP, basket of goods are suppose to cost the same in both countries. For Relative PPP to hold either U.S Dollar should increase by 2% or Japanese Yen should decrease by 2%, as a result goods in both countries would have the same cost. Thus we will try to calculate and come up with a solution which can support Relative PPP between U.S. and Japan. The following steps will help us determine our answer. We will first determine the weekly Exchange rate between U.S. and Japan in the form of Yen/Dollar for the span of 6 years, December 1999 till December 2005. Then we will gather weekly information of Consumer Price Index (CPI) for both countries during the same span. CPI measures the change in prices for common household goods over time. The data can be collected from Websites like bls.gov. We will then put all this information together in a spreadsheet format like for example: YEN/$ Japan CPI U.S. CPI Now we have to calculate the inflation rate of both countries using the CPI index. • 10. Who Is Cardiovascular System For Steady State Exercise (... he cardiovascular system responses to steady state exercise (P4 and M2) Heart rate is the number of times a person s heart beats per minute. When you are preforming a type of exercise that will increase your heart rate, then your heart will pump blood all around your body faster and especially to muscles that are working the most because they require the most oxygen because of the intensity they are working at. It is vital to take your resting heart rate and the normal heart rate is 60 100bpm. For example, our cardiovascular exercise was cycling on a stationary bike for 20 minutes at a reasonable pace and this will depend on whether your heart rate will increase at a slow, fast or steady rate. However, the first 5 minutes we cycled at a very fast pace in order for your heart to pump more blood all around the body and to the required muscles in order for them to work harder. But the response is that the heart rate levels off, which means that it becomes steady so that after beginning the exercise and you re like 5 minutes into it then your heart rate will stay the same or increase by little bits unless you change the intensity all the time which is not required when doing cardiovascular exercises. Stroke volume is the amount of blood pumped by the left ventricle and this is measured in mL/beats. • 14. Stages Of Attachment Of The Infant s Attachment Stages of attachment. Another of Bowlby s contributions is his proposal that the infant s attachment to caregiver develops in stages attuned to the infant s cognitive and emotional development. As described by Broderick Blewitt (2015), a bond emerges from the affect between mother and child in the first two months as the infant signals their needs by clinging, smiling, and crying. During this stage infants are not yet attached to anyone and do not discriminate between caregivers. Between their second and eighth month, infants become increasingly preferential of one caregiver, most often the mother. The primary indicator of the emerging attachment is whether or not the 7 8 month old infant protests when separated from their caregiver, and whether they greet the caregivers return with happiness. Soon thereafter, the infant should begin to develop additional attachments with their fathers, grandparents, babysitters etc. By 18 months most infants are attached to multiple caregivers (Broderick Blewitt, 2015, p. 135). Attachment is a system. As mentioned previously, Bowlby also argued that attachment is a system. Expanding on this, Bowlby proposed that the system serves three purposes; 1) It maintains proximity between infant and caregiver, nurturing the emotional bond In attachment theory this is known as proximity maintenance, 2) It provides the potential for on going protection known as a secure base, 3) It creates a haven for the infant when distressed ... These activities are specifically called political participation. There are many forms of political participation such as voting, protesting, town hall meetings, and jury duty. Voting is commonly thought to be the single most important form of political participation. It is a unique political act because it allows for the views of more people to be represented than any other form of political participation. Every citizen over the age of eighteen is allowed one vote and must register beforehand. Voter turnout depends on what type of election is occurring. There is a large number of elections going on every year such as general elections, local elections, and statewide offices. This is because gentrification involves the attainment of vacant properties in order to build new developments. Therefore there will be a decrease in vacant properties which typically attract crime. A series of articles have been published from the Yeungnam University mainly led by Long and Lee that relates to the incorporation of dividing wall columns into the separation of liquefied natural gas. Each base case had slight variances and the proposed dividing wall column design was also distinctive. 1.5.1.1 First case study Figure 29 Double Dividing Wall Column for Natural Gas separation (Long and Lee 2011) In this natural gas liquid (LNG) separation study conducted by Long and Lee (2011), the base separation system includes a sequence of depropaniser, debutanizer and deisobutanizer which separated a system the includes ethane, propane, n butane, i butane and heavies (C5+) (Long and Lee 2011). This arrangement reduced energy costs by 30.5%, which is a large jump from the previous sequence but there are no logical explanations provides as to how they reached this particular arrangement. The three columns were then integrated into a single Agrawal column (figure 20) with a pressure of 14 bar, but this resulted in the required energy increasing by 13.5% from the conventional sequence showing the unsuitability of integrating the three columns into one (Long and Lee 2011). 1.5.1.2 Second case study In a second study conducted by Long and Lee (2012), they aimed at optimising and integrating a deethanizer and depropaniser, which operate at 30.98 and 17.5 bar respectively. The inspiration of this particular study came from a patented document conducted in 1996 that presented improvements in demethanizing and deethanizing stages of Liquefied Natural Gas separation (Manley 1997). This can be challenging as a balance between a high and low pressure must be found when integrating the two columns into a single dividing wall column. A high pressure will increase the temperature of the top stream and lower refrigerant cost but column and equipment wall thickness will have to be significantly increased. So a balance between the operating and capital cost must be found with the selection of operating pressure. However Long and Lee (2012) opted to go with a low pressure of 17.5bar to minimise capital costs and reboiler duties resulting in a 31.74% decrease in operating ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Most of our structural support in our back comes from structures called vertebrae. In total the human has 33 vertebrae. The bodies of the vertebrae rest on intervertebral discs. These discs have a ring of fibrocartilage called annulus fibrosus with a substance in the center called pulposus. These tissues provide flexibility within the spinal column. The spinal cord runs through the vertebral foramen of each vertebrae. Some vertebrae have spinous processes that are located on the posterior of the structures. Within the vertebral foramen there is fat, areolar connective tissue, and blood vessels. Its main function is to extend the column and laterally flex the column while rotating the head to the side by contracting opposite muscles. The semispinalis thoracis is on the spinous process of the superior four vertebrae and the last two cervical vertebrae. As these profits are earned form ordinary business activities, the profits are categorised as ordinary income for the business. However, there are some cases and scenarios where the business activity may include courses of actions that are not usual for the business nature. Here, we tried to find the consistency of ordinary income and the proceeds from these unusual business decisions. At first we need to assess the characteristics for ordinary income. Ordinary income is generated from personal exertion (i.e. Salary income), property (rent, interest) and carrying out business activities. According to ITAA 1997, section 6 5 (1) , the assessable income constitutes income derived from ordinary concepts. Perhaps the conflict existed in your home because you want your children to do chores, but your spouse disagrees, or perhaps you have had a conflict in the workplace where a co worker, no matter what you said was always in disagreement with you. Whether at home or work, it is best to resolve conflict as both instances, the conflict could create an uneasy situation at home or in the workplace and could result in people being hurt, work not be accomplished or even a physical altercation. Therefore, it is recommended that instead of allowing conflict to remain, that instead the conflict is resolved For that reason I will describe a conflict within an organization or team which I am familiar with, identify and describe the source(s) and level of the conflict and supporting evidence, describe the steps taken to resolve the conflict, describe a minimum of three conflict outcomes that could reasonably occur as a result of the resolution and the support for my reasoning for each possible outcome. First I will begin with a basic description of conflict. Conflict, in my opinion, is when a disagreement occurs between two or more people, someone having an opposing view or even an internal conflict such as should I eat the entire box of cookies , just to name a few. President Barack Obama delivered the message at 7:30AM and the country was buzzing about it for weeks after. Osama bin Laden was a name that every American man, woman, and child knew. On 9 11 01, four planes were hijacked by terrorists and crashed into strategic locations to sow chaos, confusion, death, and destruction into the American people. 2,977 innocent Americans died on that fateful day, and the man who decided they should die and be subject to terror was Osama bin Laden. Since that fateful day, America has donated massive amounts of time and money to find Osama, and bring him to justice. However, time and time again he evaded capture and kept us chasing him. In President Obama s Osama bin Laden Killed speech he dives right into using pathos. He reminds the country of what happened 10 years ago on 9/11 and who was responsible. There is a big difference between the power of music and the influence it has on today s society. The world today is not anywhere near perfect, but music is there to take away the pain. On the other hand, the power of music is endless. It has the power to make a grown man break down crying or a heartbroken widow smile. It has a way of letting someone who is hurting inside let out their feelings for the world to hear and be there for them. There is no end to the power of music, but music cannot fix everything. Bob Marley once said, One good thing about music. When it hits you. You feel no pain. The world today is filled with so much hate and sorrow, and music has a way of reaching those who are down in life. Music has endless ways to inspire and cheer up anyone. The lyrics of a song are a poem that tells a story whether it be a love song or a rap song. If everyone would take the time of day to listen to the lyrics they would understand and feel the music on a whole other level. Although if someone is feeling blue, a rap song probably isn t the one for them. The melody or the instrumental part of the song is mind blowing. Take out the words and there is just pure music. This is because the original true perovskite mineral when it was first found (by Gustav Rose in 1839 in the Ural Mountains of Russia) is CaTiO3, so any material with the same crystal structure as the mineral can also be classified as perovskite. In 20 years, our team has a vision that perovskite solar cells will be able to have an energy efficiency of at least 50% (based off how fast the efficiency has grown just in the last decade). There are limitations in perovskites today, but as time passes on, it is increasingly possible to break through those limitations and enable perovskites to have a higher energy efficiency. Breakthroughs There are many current challenges to perovskite solar cells. One of these is their long term stability. Typical silicon solar panels are usually guaranteed to last up to 20 years. However, perovskite solar cells only last for months. Extreme temperatures, humidity, light levels, and weather changes all cause perovskite cells to decompose. In particular, moisture is a problem as perovskite reacts to water forming hydrates; the crystal structures are altered in a way so that the perovskites cannot absorb visible light anymore, and thus, rendering them useless. There has been progress; cells had once only lasted minutes but now can last a few months, but in order to achieve this team s goal of having ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Although it does not require physical evidence, faith is based on such strong beliefs that so many trust it to be the truth. • 45. Native American Men Stereotypes Analysis Short Assignment #2 When discussing characters in film and television, portrayals almost always contain some sort of stereotype. This is especially true of male characters whose qualities are often shaped around anger and aggression. We can see individuals across genres shown with repeated motivations, actions, and appearances. These depictions delve even further into stereotyping when we begin to examine characters who are also people of color. The media often depicts people of color in tropes based on their racial and ethnic identities, and these tropes are usually offensive and demeaning. People of color are usually shown in two ways; more aggressive and violent than the white hero, or less aggressive and violent without imposing a physical threat. Either depiction is meant to be compared ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The X Files are television show that tracks the adventures of FBI Agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully. In the episode Anasazi, Scully and Mulder follow a case that leads them to a Navajo Reservation in New Mexico. Here they are greeted by a group of helpful Native Americans, depicted as stoic, wise, and in touch with the earth. During the episode Mulder is severely wounded, and relies on rituals from the Navajo to keep him alive. When I was younger I was often perplexed by stereotypical depictions of Native Americans in the media. Most of my family is Native American, and while I am not native myself I was always confused because they never acted in stereotypical ways. Now that I am older and have began to analyze the portrayal of people of color, I have started to notice the fetishization of these individuals and their association with nature and mysticism. When associating people of color with mystical roles, these powers are often meant to aide a usually white hero with no gain for the person of color. These characters also pose no threat to the hero, and have no existence outside of aiding the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 46. My Spanish Standoff Analysis The Benefits of Being Bilingual My Spanish Standoff by Gabriella Kuntz explains how the fear of prejudice against Latin America in the United States led her and her husband to avoid speaking and teaching their children Spanish. One reason that she decides not to teach her native language to her children is because she saw how the Anglo Saxons in the community treated her because of her dark complexion, brown eyes and black hair. Another reason, she mentions involves the fact that her children developed accents and were unable to understand either language completely. Because of this, Kuntz decides only to speak to them in English to prevent others from criticizing her children for speaking with broken grammar and thick accents. She believes ... • 47. The Effect Of Automatic Processes Interfering With... Whether your mom is telling you a list of chores to do while you are watching your favorite TV show or studying for an exam in a noisy room, these are common occurrences that may be affecting you in ways you don t realize. What people may not know is how these instances could cause hindrances when processing information; this is an underlying problem and has been known as interference. When you have attention on more than one thing you may be experiencing interference and this can inhibit cognitive processes. The effects of automatic processes interfering with controlled processes have been known to have been tested through something called a Stroop experiment. The revolutionary study by, Stroop (1935) used 5 different colors; purple, brown, green, blue, and red in a color word naming task. Subjects had to say the color of the word while it was printed in different color ink. For example, the word blue would be written in the color red. They first did this using the colored words and then repeated the process with the words printed in black. They found that the colored word condition suggested a 2.3s longer reaction time than the black word condition. This is due to the inference of automatic word reading in the color word condition. Previous research also suggests that there can be interference with the use of the symbol of an arrow or the written words right and left in an experiment conducted by, Baldo, Shimamura, and Prinzmetal (1998). Their findings suggested ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
