Autodesk Knowledge Network: A Knowledge Ecosystem Approach to Integrated Cont...Tom Williams
Over the last few years Autodesk has made a significant investment in online self-service in preparation for the increased demand for customer support resulting from our shift toward subscription-based business models and direct sales, moving away from a purely reseller channel model. The design tools that Autodesk sells are deep, complex, professional tools that often have an extended learning curve, and the real practical expertise for applied use of them often resides in an established global community of companies and individual experts. The Autodesk Knowledge Network represents a knowledge ecosystem strategy that embraces this broader community in all its forms to accelerate web content generation by Autodesk and these partners and customers. We have invested in optimizing traditional web publishing by Autodesk, including KCS. But we’ve also embraced aggregation of disparate content siloes and the direct online contribution and sharing of content in the form of both video and traditional long-form articles. Providing experts an opportunity to create a public profile for themselves and build their reputation seems to be helping us gain momentum with programs to encourage contribution. This talk will outline our existing tools and programs, describe some of our near-term plans for expansion and share our key effectiveness measures.
If businesses want to remain competitive in the digital age, they must increase efficiency with technology wherever possible! Microsoft Office 365 has everything you need to increase efficiency and more.
Building serverless apps with Go & SAMLeon Stigter
“Serverless” allows developers to focus on writing their code, and a cloud provider, like AWS, takes care of all the other bits. Building serverless apps means the developer doesn't have to worry about server management, scaling, or high availability, a convenience that usually comes with the added benefit of lower operational cost. We’ll be showing how to use the Project Flogo® lightweight integration engine and open source framework to deploy functions to AWS Lambda using SAM.

There are a few key trends that are making business more complex: global value chain, consumerization, information overload and worker mobility.
These complexities are having a dramatic impact on business – slowing key business processes, reducing responsiveness and causing missed opportunities for your customers.
Cisco’s collaboration architecture is designed to help address these challenges. From the ground up, it is constructed to enable boundaryless collaboration – breaking down silos between content formats, individual tools and devices, companies, and ultimately between people working towards a common goal.
Cisco’s portfolio of collaboration applications leverage these services to help companies deliver against top line business imperatives such as saving on travel costs, improving employee productivity, increasing customer intimacy and facilitating innovation.
Together, these layers establish a collaboration core enabling compelling experiences both within and among organizations. As you and your customers think about transitioning to boundaryless collaboration, this is the architecture that will enable it.

Observability Concepts EVERY Developer Should Know -- DeveloperWeek Europe.pdfPaige Cruz
Monitoring and observability aren’t traditionally found in software curriculums and many of us cobble this knowledge together from whatever vendor or ecosystem we were first introduced to and whatever is a part of your current company’s observability stack.
While the dev and ops silo continues to crumble….many organizations still relegate monitoring & observability as the purview of ops, infra and SRE teams. This is a mistake - achieving a highly observable system requires collaboration up and down the stack.
I, a former op, would like to extend an invitation to all application developers to join the observability party will share these foundational concepts to build on:

Elevating Tactical DDD Patterns Through Object CalisthenicsDorra BARTAGUIZ
After immersing yourself in the blue book and its red counterpart, attending DDD-focused conferences, and applying tactical patterns, you're left with a crucial question: How do I ensure my design is effective? Tactical patterns within Domain-Driven Design (DDD) serve as guiding principles for creating clear and manageable domain models. However, achieving success with these patterns requires additional guidance. Interestingly, we've observed that a set of constraints initially designed for training purposes remarkably aligns with effective pattern implementation, offering a more ‘mechanical’ approach. Let's explore together how Object Calisthenics can elevate the design of your tactical DDD patterns, offering concrete help for those venturing into DDD for the first time!

Why You Should Replace Windows 11 with Nitrux Linux 3.5.0 for enhanced perfor...SOFTTECHHUB
The choice of an operating system plays a pivotal role in shaping our computing experience. For decades, Microsoft's Windows has dominated the market, offering a familiar and widely adopted platform for personal and professional use. However, as technological advancements continue to push the boundaries of innovation, alternative operating systems have emerged, challenging the status quo and offering users a fresh perspective on computing.
One such alternative that has garnered significant attention and acclaim is Nitrux Linux 3.5.0, a sleek, powerful, and user-friendly Linux distribution that promises to redefine the way we interact with our devices. With its focus on performance, security, and customization, Nitrux Linux presents a compelling case for those seeking to break free from the constraints of proprietary software and embrace the freedom and flexibility of open-source computing.
Removing Uninteresting Bytes in Software FuzzingAftab Hussain
Imagine a world where software fuzzing, the process of mutating bytes in test seeds to uncover hidden and erroneous program behaviors, becomes faster and more effective. A lot depends on the initial seeds, which can significantly dictate the trajectory of a fuzzing campaign, particularly in terms of how long it takes to uncover interesting behaviour in your code. We introduce DIAR, a technique designed to speedup fuzzing campaigns by pinpointing and eliminating those uninteresting bytes in the seeds. Picture this: instead of wasting valuable resources on meaningless mutations in large, bloated seeds, DIAR removes the unnecessary bytes, streamlining the entire process.
In this work, we equipped AFL, a popular fuzzer, with DIAR and examined two critical Linux libraries -- Libxml's xmllint, a tool for parsing xml documents, and Binutil's readelf, an essential debugging and security analysis command-line tool used to display detailed information about ELF (Executable and Linkable Format). Our preliminary results show that AFL+DIAR does not only discover new paths more quickly but also achieves higher coverage overall. This work thus showcases how starting with lean and optimized seeds can lead to faster, more comprehensive fuzzing campaigns -- and DIAR helps you find such seeds.

Chuck robins quote from 7/27 email blast:
Hi Team,
I am thrilled that today is here! We have incredible energy and momentum, and I couldn’t be more excited to build our next chapter together.
I’ve been so fortunate to engage with many of you in the Ask Me Anything sessions that we’ve held around the world over the past few months. Those sessions have been invaluable, as they’ve given me great insight into what you care about, what’s working at Cisco, and what we need to change.
Over the past 90 days, I’ve also had the opportunity to meet with many customers, partners, government leaders, and shareholders around the world. These conversations have reinforced my belief that we absolutely have the right vision and strategy to guide our customers and lead the market for the next decade and beyond. Our customers believe in us, and they want us to do even more to drive their success.
I’d like to share with you why I am so confident in all of us.
Every customer knows that technology must be at the core of their business strategy to create and deliver unprecedented value, as every person, process and thing in their organization and ecosystem connects. Each customer faces a critical decision: Will technology simply enable, potentially differentiate, or fundamentally define their business strategy? This decision lies at the heart of the digital transition that every country, city and company is undergoing, and we intend to be the most strategic partner for our customers during each stage of this transition.
In the digital world, data—and the insights from that data—will be their most strategic asset. It will be distributed across every part of their organization and ecosystem. Our customers’ ability to secure, aggregate, automate, and draw insights from the data – with speed – will ultimately define their success. For fifty years, the IT industry has been bringing data to the ‘computer.’ Now, we are bringing computing – with analytics, insights, and actions - to the data. Only Cisco, and only the network, can deliver the secure, hyper-distributed, and intelligent infrastructure and solutions required in today’s highly dynamic digital world.
We’re not the only ones who see the opportunity ahead for Cisco. I am thrilled to welcome two new incredible industry and thought leaders to the Executive Leadership Team (ELT)— Zorawar Biri Singh is joining us as our Chief Technology Officer and Kevin Bandy will serve as our Chief Digital Officer.
As I’ve said before, a diverse set of perspectives and experiences is important to me as we build our next chapter. We’ve looked at leaders from around the world over the past few months, and I am convinced that we are adding two of the most strategic and innovative leaders to our team. I can’t wait for all of you to get to know them and see how their creative thinking will make us a stronger team. To learn more about each of them and their roles, please see the announcements on CEC. I hope you will see why I believe their experience and accomplishments makes them ideal leaders who will help us further define our future.
With the addition of Biri and Kevin, I believe we have the best, and most passionate, leadership team in the industry with the right capabilities and values to lead us into the future. Our #1 goal as leaders is to ensure that we are doing everything we can to help you be successful, and this is what we plan to do.
I have believed in this company for over 17 years because of our amazing people and the strong culture we have built together. The work we do every day to connect everything, innovate everywhere, and benefit everyone has defined our last 30 years and will ensure our success in the future. This is what Our People Deal is about – our commitment to support you as you make Cisco and the world a better place. I am committed to ensuring that all of you see Our People Deal truly come to life as we move forward.
I want Cisco to be known for having the most innovative employee experience hands down. I want us to be known as a company that builds amazing teams, transforms how work is done, and changes the world. All of this must be done across a foundation of transparency and trust, and I want you to feel that we support your and allow you to be at your best because that is how we will succeed.
Going forward, our new CEC will be my main platform for communicating with you. We’ve worked to streamline and simplify the CEC, and as we’re all moving fast, I hope you will use this to stay in tune with what’s happening at Cisco.
I believe in this team wholeheartedly. I could not be more proud of you, and your energy and passion for what we do is truly inspiring. The opportunity ahead of us is immense, and you are the reason we will lead the market. Our time is now, so let’s do this.
Thanks,
Chuck

Addressing the needs of both the agile worker and IT teams looking to provide relevant solutions in a secure and reliable way, Cisco launched Cisco Spark in March 2015. The Cisco Spark experience centers around secure virtual “rooms” with viral and simple mobile messaging as the foundations. However, just like in the business world, these “rooms” are not single purpose. Teams can also share files and have face to face meetings, making Cisco Spark *the* place to message, share, and meet with different teams, all in one place. Most importantly, however, is that the Cisco Spark experience can be deployed and managed by IT teams to add security and manageability. More on those features is discussed in subsequent slides.
Gartner considers Cisco Spark to be among a select group of vendors actively going to market in the nascent Enterprise Mobile Messaging market. In its July 2015 report, Gartner predicts that: “By 2018, 50% of team coordination and communication will occur via mobile group collaboration apps.” This market is emerging quickly, and Cisco Spark has unique advantages in its ability to easily get anyone included into a group chat/team room (no complicated setup, permissions, platform requirements, etc.); that it is incredibly easy to use (one view of all your teams and topics); that it does more than just “messaging” with native business document sharing and video conferencing capabilities; and that it was built with added security features that go well beyond those of consumer chat apps.
