1. Cinematography
Establishing shot- where the film is set,
time period, a piece of landscape.
Wide shot- shot that is wide, has a person in it,
giving you information on where the character is.
Medium shot (mid shot) - seeing
people from the middle upwards
or middle downwards.
Medium close up- show more emotion.
Close up- might not be a person, shows
you something significant.
Extreme close up-highlights the emotion, adds
suspense and tension.
Point of view shot- you show the
audience a scene from the point of view
of the person, you need to see a body
part (hand or foot).
2. Over the shoulder shot- supposed to make you
feel as if you are stood alongside the character
(looking over their shoulder).
Two shot- two people within a shot.
Shot reverse shot- obeys the 180 degree rule, going from one
person to the next (backwards and forwards).
Low angle shot- get down on the
floor and point your camera up at people,
making someone more powerful.
High angle shot- the camera is up high looking
down at someone, making them seem weak.
