Check Essay
Writing an essay on the topic "Check Essay" presents a unique set of challenges that require a
delicate balance of self-analysis and critical evaluation. The inherent difficulty lies in the need to
objectively assess one's own writing while navigating the fine line between self-confidence and
self-criticism.
Beginning the essay involves a deep dive into personal writing habits, strengths, and weaknesses.
This introspective process demands honesty and a keen eye for detail. Identifying areas that
require improvement is an essential aspect, but it can be challenging to strike the right
tone—constructive rather than overly self-deprecating.
The evaluation process extends beyond grammar and syntax. It delves into the nuances of
argumentation, coherence, and the overall effectiveness of the written piece. Pinpointing the
strengths can boost confidence, but acknowledging weaknesses requires a certain level of
humility and a commitment to growth.
Furthermore, the writer must grapple with the subjectivity inherent in self-assessment. Balancing
self-awareness with objectivity can be elusive, as personal biases may cloud the judgment. It
becomes a task of unraveling the layers of one's writing style and preferences to present a fair
and accurate analysis.
Expressing these insights coherently poses another hurdle. Transforming internal reflections into
a well-structured and articulate essay demands a mastery of language and rhetorical finesse. The
ability to communicate the evaluation effectively adds an additional layer of complexity to the
writing process.
In conclusion, crafting an essay on the topic "Check Essay" necessitates a delicate dance
between self-awareness and objectivity. The difficulty lies not only in identifying areas of
improvement but also in articulating these findings in a constructive and coherent manner. It is a
challenging endeavor that demands introspection, honesty, and a mastery of language.

Expectancy Theory
The expectancy theory by Victor Bloom is based on the believe that organizational
employees act in a certain way based on the strength of an outcome and how
attractive the outcome is to the individual. The theory contains three main
relationships and when all three are maintained the desired behavior from the
employee will be achieved. These three relationships are effort performance
(Expectant probability), performance reward (Instrumentality probability) and
rewards personal goals (Valence). In the effort performance relationship or
expectancy the employee must believe that if they perform in a certain manner that
they will indeed increase their performance and thus make goals obtainable. In order
for the employee to actually... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Then to gain interest in the rewards, there needs to be an overhaul of the reward
system itself.
There needs to be variety in the rewards. A poll could be taken of the employees
and ask them what would be fair rewards for met goals. The employer could take
the majority opinion of the poll and offer the result as a reward or offer options of
rewards either by individuals or by group. The rewards must be of value to the
employee that is the bottom line.
The company needs to have transparency in the new goal and reward program. That
will make sure there is confidence and fairness in the reward program. Employees
must see that the achievers are being rewarded while the underachievers are not.
This tangible difference must be known and visible to reinforce that things are now
different and effort is awarded. This aspect addresses the instrumentality relationship
aspect of the expectancy theory. To accommodate those employees that are
motivated by recognition, individual rewards that include company wide recognition
should be established in addition to the monetary or benefit rewards. Team
recognition awards could also be established. This would create a little friendly
competition while providing openly displayed performance numbers which in turn
provides positive feedback for increased performance. By making sure that the
reward system has value and makes the employee desire to make the goal and
Heneman Trailer Truck Drivers
Literature Review The job of a tractor trailer truck driver can vary greatly from
company to company. Therefore, this analysis will focus on the core tasks and
requirements. According to the National Center for O*NET Development, heavy and
tractor trailer truck drivers are required to ensure equipment is working properly,
follow safety procedures for transporting goods, make certain that cargo is secure,
drive and maneuver trucks, read and interpret directions, and maintain logs according
to relevant regulations. This requires knowledge of transportation, public safety and
security, and the English language. It also requires skills and abilities in operation
and control, monitoring, time management, critical thinking, reaction time, control...

Trucking jobs at one company may look very different from those at another, and
their selection systems should reflect that. It is also important to remember to
follow any regulations in place in the geographic location. With that said,
recruitment strategies should be creative and try to extend beyond the traditional
methods. Referrals may be useful in the industry, if care is taken to avoid adverse
impact. It also makes sense to advertise in directed mediums, like in truck stops
across the country. If the organization has the money to invest, they could also
build their talent and provide training to the people they want to put into their
talent pipeline by providing courses leading to CDL licensure. This could create a
sense of commitment to the organization and reduce turnover. As far as selection,
job history data may be more relevant to these jobs than it is to others. It would
also be wise to check into any criminal history the person has. Verification of both
of these sources is absolutely key to success. A physical would also be necessary to
determine if the person is physically able to safely drive a truck. A simulation or
road course would be ideal for this job, as it could determine if the driver would be
able to handle the exact requirements of the job and can be highly
When I Went To Walmart
I went home the weekend of October 8 and 9th. On Sunday October 9th my mom
and I went to Walmart. I was hoping that she would buy me tea so I did not have to
buy it myself. However, the Walmart in Wadsworth, Ohio, my home town, was
completely out of 12 packs of Lipton Citrus Green Iced Tea. There was no kiosk for
them and there were none of that flavor in the aisle. At this Walmart, where they
should have been was surrounded by other types of Lipton, Pure Life, and Snapple
teas. On Monday October 10th, I went to Walmart in Ashland because I failed to
purchase teain Wadsworth. They had it, but were also surprisingly low stocked. My
theory is this product is a star in the summer time, but in the fall and winter months it
is more of a cash cow.
Differential Calculus Essay
Differential Calculus
Differential calculus is one of the subfields of calculus, and deals with the rate of
change of various quantities. The other field of calculus is integral calculus, the two
fields being the inverse of each other. One way to understand the relationship is to
observe that differential calculus cuts a whole into tiny pieces, to find out how
quickly it changes, while integral calculus put the small pieces together to find the
whole.
Differential calculus is the study of rate of change, using the tools of limits and
derivatives. Since differential calculus studies rates of change, any function that
changes continuously can be differentiated.
To determine the rate of change between two points on a graph, you calculate the
slope of the secant intersecting these two points (see below). The secant is a linear
function of the form (y=ax+b).Therefore, the slope is constant, and can be
determined as: a=(y_2 y_1)/(x_2 x_1 )=∆y/∆x,∆x and ∆y is read as the
change in x in respect of the change in y. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The slope of the tangent is equivalent to the instantaneous rate of the change of the
function at the point, at which the tangent touches the function curve. The
instantaneous rate of change is the ∆y is the distance between f(x) and f(x +
∆x). ∆x is the distance between x and (x + ∆x).
The formula for calculating the average slope between A and B (secant line)
is(f(x+∆x) f(x))/((x+∆x) x)=(f(x+∆x) f(x))/∆x, where ∆x accounts for the
distance between the two points, f(x+∆x ) and

Anne Moody s Non-Violence
Non violence was the key to the civil rights movement. The civil rights movement
was a mass popular movement to secure for African Americans equal access and
opportunities for the basic privileges and rights of the U.S. citizenship. African
Americans used the approach of non violence to get important issues handled. A few
of the important issues was to end segregation, racial inequality, and get voting
rights. Although it took several years to get these acts handled, African Americans
were determined not to give up. Anne Moody wrote a biography on her life growing
up in Mississippi, and how she was impacted during the civil rights movement.
Throughout Anne Moody s book Coming of Age in Mississippi she showed that she

The civil rights movement was a success was because of its religious leaders and
how they inspired people. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr was most influential on the
non violent approach. Dr. King enforced that violence was not going to get
anything solved. Anne did not agree with Dr. King on the nonviolent approach
because she did not see anything positive coming from it in a timely manner. Little
did she know, Dr. King s nonviolence resistance would be what got noticed? Anne
Moody was brought up in the church, and was very active while she was there.
Anne lost her faith, after the bombing of the church, which killed four innocent
girls. In the book Anne talked about how the older people focused on heaven, while
people her age just tried to better themselves. Religious beliefs played an important
role in African Americans lives. Although African Americans were going through so
many negative things, they never doubted their God. To African Americans church
was a place where they were considered free despite what society thought. They saw
that their skin color did not matter, but that they were all equal in God s eyes. A few
of the religious leaders who helped with the movement were Dr. Martin Luther King
Jr., Andrew Young, and Jesse Jackson. Religion is the crucial ingredient that kept the
movement alive in the face of death, poverty and large scale
King Philip Essays
King Philip s War was a disturbing war fought in America in 1675, almost certainly
as a result of the early contact between the English Colonists and the Native
Americans. The Natives were, and had always been fighting for their freedom and
land, as well as their culture unharmed. Though the Natives had their own religious
beliefs, the Colonists felt that they were the greater man, and that God would play a
part by remaining on their side. The Nativesdid not trust the English with their
multiplecheated promises and such, and it was only expected that the Natives would
not believe in the English. There is no one established reason for this war, like many
wars, but it is only probable that it be a result of the many differences between...

Alexander died shortly after his reign from what is believed to have been an ill
fever of some type. At this time, Metacomet, King Philip, would become the Grand
Sachem of the Wampanoags. Philip was the predecessor of Tecumseh and was an
excellent leader of the tribe. He knew that the English would try and rid them of
their land and expand more until they wiped out his tribe totally. King Philip
would need to get other tribes to understand what the English were doing, and to
join him in the defense of their being. It wasn t long until the English learned of
this attempt at a possible revolt against them, and therefore in 1671, King Philip
was forced to a southern area in Massachusetts known as Taunton. He was ordered
to give up most of the firearms that the tribe possessed, but still kept a number of
firearms within the Indians. Further, he signed an agreement with the Colony of
Plymouth on September 29, 1671 that said his tribe would abide by colonial laws
and guidelines with war affairs and Indian land. This was just another one of the
Englishmen s ways of stripping the Wampanoag s of their power, but was probably
only indeed signed by King Philip because he was under strict enforcement, and it
would give him a little breathing room with the English.
Not forgetting about the tribes that King Philip attempted to have join them in their
revolt against the English, the Naragansett, Nipmuc, and Pocumtuc tribes all gave
their support to Philip and whatever he
Movie Going Essay
1946 was the peak of theater going as a pastime in America. 90 million people a
week were going to the movies creating a box office revenue of $1.7 billion dollars.
The invention of television and the Paramount case in 1948 delivered crucial blows
to the industry. By 1957, attendance was down to 40 million viewers per week.
Televisions had become common household appliances and people were watching a
lot of it. In 1960, the average household spent 5 hours a day watching television. The
filmindustry had to adapt and find ways to win back their once loyal fan base. The
studios tried multiple strategies to in an attempt to drive people back to the theaters.
The idea was to leverage what cinema had that television did not. Mainly, that was
big screens and color. Movie going was an experience and that experience needed
improving. Many theaters improved their sound systems and leveraged technologies
like CinemaScope and VistaVision to make the screen look even bigger and provide
a more immersive theatrical experience. Unfortunately, this strategy fell short of
making an impact and box office revenue continued to stay very low.
The studios began to realize that instead of viewing television as a direct competitor,
maybe there were ways to form a multi beneficial relationship. The first step toward a

local censorship boards as well. Producers were free to make the films they desired.
Even the ban of on screen nudity ended in 1957 with Excelsior Pictures v. Regents of

Analysis Of The Lottery By Shirley Jackson
Sometimes following a crowd isn t always a good. The theme of these two stories is
about following a crowd. You shouldn t follow a crowd, even if you think it is a good
idea it could still end up very badly. Like if you were at a party, and someone brings
drugs or drinks and you are underage that is not a good thing to be involved in, and
not a group of people you should want to be around. The Lotteryby Shirley Jackson,
is a short storyabout a town that gets together on June 27th on a sunny summer day
for the lottery. They all gather around and each person takes a slip of paper out of
the black box, and the person with the black dot on their paper wins . But you don
t actually win, you get stoned to death by all the people that you lived with in the
town. First They Came by Martin Niemoller, is a story about the Socialists, the
Trade Union, the Jews, and Martin Niemoller. The Nazis started coming for the
Socialists, and Martin didn t say anything. The they came for the Trade Union, and
Martin didn t say anything. Then they came for the Jews, and Martin didn t say
anything. And then they came for Martin, and no one was there to help him, and
why would they because he didn t try to help them. Both The Lottery and First They
Came deal with following a crowd, but they do so in different ways.
Surely, The Lottery is about following a crowd. For example, in paragraph two it
talks about all the boys and girls starting to gather around the town s center. Bobby
Martin had already stuffed his pockets full of stones, selecting the smoothest and
roundest stones. Then Harry Jones and Dickie Delacroix made a great pile of
stones in the corner, and started putting some in their pockets like Bobby Martin.
All of the boys followed Bobby Martin because he is one of the older boys, and
because they thought it was the right thing to do. It was definitely not the right
thing to do. What if one of them were to get the black dot I beat they wouldn t
enjoy if people already had rocks ready to be thrown at them. Another example from
the lottery is from paragraph one the people in the village begin to gather in the
square, between the post office and the bank at ten o clock. They all

in 18th century four pillar theory was introduced for a stable state, that are executives,

The Tuskegee Study
Where and Why The Tuskegee study took place in Macon,Alabama at the campus
of Tuskegee Institute. Macon was known to be highly populated with African
Americans, which was necessary for this study, because at the time they were twelve
times more likely to get syphilis than Caucasians(CDC 2013). The study lasted from
1932 to 1972.(Tuskegee University) How The Tuskegee Study of Untreated Syphilis
in the Negro Male, originally consisted of six hundred men, three hundred and ninety
nine of them had syphilis while two hundred and one consisted of the control group.
The men were all offered health care and survivors insurance, making it almost
impossible to decline participating in the study seeing as most of the men were
extremely poor.
On The Parable Of The Sower
After reading the assigned chapters in our text, I have an appreciation for parables;
parables function as narrative frameworks that Jesus used to present spiritual
principles. According to the text, Story is a way of structuring information, a system
of informational elements ... (Haven 15) stories are effectively, ...enhance memory
and the creation of meaning (16). Because the human brain readily embraces and
interprets past experiences and present circumstances in story form (33) the parable
of The Sower helps believers of JesusChrist understand different responses to the call
of salvation. At first you think the story is about the farmer until you realize the seeds
represent the one who hears the message and the struggle or challenges
American Chestnut Research Paper
The American Chestnut and the Functions of Silviculture
It s incredible how many purposes silviculturists have to maintain forests. The main
functions of silviculture include control, protect, facilitate and salvage. Aspects of
these functions can be observed at the Lafayette Field Station among the growing
American chestnut trees. Silviculturists use control to manipulate the growth of
forests for certain benefits. Controlling a forest can be done by altering a tree s genes,
adjusting its sunlight and choosing its surroundings. Some desired outcomes would
be a more diverse forest, trees with certain traits who are better adapted, or to attain a
certain age of trees. The chestnut trees at Lafayette field station were hybridized with

In order to conserve a native species and protect it from extinction, scientists must
battle viruses, unsustainability, invasives etc. that threaten the species. For the
example of the American chestnut, the young chestnuts are growing in gated areas.
This protects them from animals or other intruders that may disturb the chestnuts. The
shelterwoods surrounding the chestnuts also serve as a defense. To facilitate is to
make something easier. In silviculture, this mostly involves regeneration. The
American chestnuts were directly seeded, which certainly facilitated their growth.
The final function of silviculture is to salvage. In order to reap the most benefits of a
forest, it must be maintained sustainably. This, in the long run, is more profitable for
both humans and nature. Many years ago, before the blight affected the American
chestnuts, they were bountiful across the eastern United States. They were greatly
valued for their use in construction. If this new hybridized chestnut is a success, then
perhaps it can be established once again. The American chestnut research being done
at Lafayette seems to have a promising future. The primary functions being used on
the chestnuts is control and protect. Hope for a better future for the American
chestnut has been made possible, thanks to the functions of
How Pearl Harbor Changed American History
December 7,1941, was a day in tera. The Japanese attack Pearl Harbor Changed the
American History. On December 8,1941, the U.S. declared war on Japan. Then the
U.S. declared war on Germany and Italy after they did the same to us. This is how
the U.S. got involved in World War II. The attack on Pearl Harbor was a bad day
for United States and there are a lot of people still sad that it had happened. The
morning after the attack on December 8,1941, was a beautiful day until the U.S. was
blindsided. All the men and women on Pearl Harbor were not on alert when the
Japanese came (Anderson). There were a lot of servicemen that were eating and still

and there were 1,000 soldiers wounded. In the attack the Japanese killed 68
civilians (39 Interesting). There was a ship that exploded and sank with more than
1,000 men trapped inside. The soldiers and sailor on Pearl Harbor manage to
destroy 28 airplanes and sunk 5 of their submarines. They dropped 1,800 pound
bombs on the deck of the battleship USS Arizona. USS Arizona and USS Utah were
the only two ships left but they needed to get repaired. Overall the U.S. loss 3,700
men and the Japanese loss 50 men and the civilians were 48 68 death. Why the
U.S. was not prepared the Japanese took us by surprise. The first thing Hawaii

Japan had no seaborne aircraft capable of catching the Army s B 24 bombers. The
U.S. government didn t think that the Japan was going to attack the United States.

Value ChainConsiderations
In terms of LogCap III, to achieve sustainable competitive advantage, KBR must
disaggregate the value chain and focus on activities affecting cost, price, or both in
relation to the services offered by competitive rivals (Porte, 1985). Wherever
possible, KBR should focus on differentiation by providing value through a unique
mix of services. For example, economies of scale, achieved through the value ... Show

Inbound logistics Property and materials are the lifeline for the continuing operations
of base camps. Tangible assets are considered to be property. Tangible property may
include vehicles, tools, generators, sanitation, sleeping containers, coolers for food
and many other items. Materials include consumables that are used to sustain day to
day activities to complete the mission. Property and material must be accounted for
throughout the materials life cycle. Consequently, from the time a purchase order is
generated through consumption of materials, or disposition for property, each items
must be tracked through the approved system of record.
2.Operations Operations is the nerve center for the base camp. The site manager
oversees the operations of the base camp. The site manager coordinates KBR s
services with the Mayors Cell. In terms of O M, all service requests are initiated
through the Service Desk controlled by operations.
3.Outbound logistics In a war zone, outbound operations are an extremely important
aspect of the mission. The timely delivery of property and materials, from outside
vendors, may be challenging. As a result, when the need arises, base camps and
forward operating bases (FOB s) borrow materials from one another. Consequently,
outbound logistics is fundamentally important to the success of the mission.
Outbound logistic activities are initiated through a
A Successful Man As A Self Made Man
The self made man is often portrayed as a story of rags to riches. A person who
overcomes any obstacle thrown at him/her and defies all odds. These stories incite a
reaction in readers, often leaving them in awe. How can a person become so
successful, even though the universe is seemingly against them? The truthMalcolm
Gladwelluncovered in his novel Outliers is the people at the top of the ladder did
not have everything stacked against them. Gladwell says that there is no such
concept as a self made man. Successful people have been helped along the way by a
variety of reasons, such as how wealthy their family was, to their birth month.
While I feel that there is no such thing as a self made man because circumstance
and motivation are a key factor in how successful one becomes, I feel as if a person
s luck has a lot to deal with them thriving in their career.
In addition, throughout Outliers it becomes apparent that the circumstances people
have been born into assists them to surpass any competition. For example, technology
legends such as Bill Gates, Eric Schmidt, Vinod Khosla, and Steve Jobs were all born
in a one year time span. What a crazy coincidence that four of the most successful
men in technology were all born so close to one another. The truth is that certain
opportunities arose for all of them in college: easy access to computers. If they had
been any older or younger, they would have missed on the opportunities to use the
new technology due to being stuck
Hurricane Impact On The Hurricane
There are times when I was out in [the rain] that I had to hold my hand over my
mouth and nose just to breath. . . because it was falling at times like being in a
waterfall (Halverson, par. 5). Those are the words of William Whitehead, a sheriff
from Lovingston, Virginia in charge of recovery and rescue from Hurricane Camille.
The hurricane affected the lives of everyone living in the area; however, the
hurricane did not only affect the people. The hurricane affected the developed area as
well. The effects of Hurricane Camille began immediately, many people lost solely
their homes, while others lost everything. Without doubt, Hurricane Camille, was a
devastating costly event for the Gulf Coast.
Tropical Storm Camille began forming on August 14, 1969 in the Cayman Islands
(45 Years Later: Remembering Hurricane Camille s Deadly Landfall, Aftermath, par.

speed. Because of a fast drop in pressure, tropical storm Camille became Hurricane
Camille. The hurricane hit Mississippi on the night of August 17, 1969 (1969
Hurricane Camille, par. 2). Hitting Cuba caused Camille to weaken when it
returned to the Gulf of Mexico (par. 3). However, that did not stop Camille from
hitting Mississippi with winds as high 200 miles per hour (Pope, par. 4). Hurricanes

He refused to let the IKEA preview the video; however he invited them to send

According to Barner, it was immediately clear that this German produced program
planned to take a confrontational and aggressive approach aimed directly at IKEA
and one of its suppliers (Bartlett et al 8). The refusal to show the movie to IKEA
implicit shows that their intention is not to hear about IKEA s engagement but
having someone to blame. The discussion might have an aggressive and
confrontational attitude towards IKEA for using a supplier, which employs children
and suggesting IKEA a reckless company just caring about profit. Barner should
first of all understand the situation thoroughly before taking any steps against
Rangan Exports. The Global sourcing always brings with it the social, cultural and
regulatory differences which should be dealt with effectively to ensure success in
global supply chain. She should help Rangan Exports to avoid using child labor in
production of rugs by bringing awareness about such social issues and how it
impacts the life of child in physical, mental, spiritual, moral, and social terms. She
should even pressurize the supplier for avoiding child labor in production. A live
discussion would give IKEA the possibility to explain themselves and their intention
concerning their engagement in India. Barner could make her intentions clear as she

English Piracy Definition
Very few people today, perhaps those who have stared death in the face, can
possibly comprehend what it would have been like to stand on the gallows at high
tide as the executioner fashioned a noose around the pirate s neck; the last
significant act before his final voyage, a short drop and a quick stop. The English
political and legal processes that delivered this defiant captain and hundreds of others
condemned for piracyto their final destination is the focus of this study.
Their contemporaries described them as Robbers, Opposers, and Violators of all
Laws, Humane and Divine. Many viewed themselves as a more selfish reincarnation
of Robin Hood, stealing from wealthy merchants, foreign traders, and abusive
captains, and in doing so, threatening ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After nearly two decades of anti pirate policies in the colonies, colonial officials no
longer deemed it necessary to aggressively convict anyone suspected of piracy out
of fear of losing their charter, as they had prior to 1705. Furthermore, the defining
legal question leading to extreme ambiguity in the prosecution of pirates during the
seventeenth century was at what point did acting outside of one s commission
constitute an act of piracy? The conclusion of Great Britain s hostilities with
France and Spain in 1713 rendered this question irrelevant as the new wave of
pirates targeted primarily British, not neutral or allied ships, clearly defining their
aggression as piracy. The change in targets also reduced the prosecution s need to
rely on accomplice testimony, a source of controversy in civil law proceedings,
since attacks occurring off nearby shores provided easier access to victim testimony.
Finally, the increase in colonial newspapers and the dissemination of their publication
of piracy trials reports did assist in reducing procedural inconsistencies, but not in the
way previously suggested. Instead, it was the increased familiarity with civil law and
piracy trial procedures within the reports, combined with

domestic and international airline network, which combines services of Qantas,
Jetstar and regional network operator QantasLink. The industry also provides services
across a network in Australia, the United States, the Asia Pacific region, South
America, Africa and Europe. QantasAirways Ltd. was found in November 1920 under
the name Queensland and Northern Territory Aerial Services Limited (QANTAS).
Qantas s customers have an access to the hundreds of destination and airport lounges

enhances the company s exposure to international travellers, who often transfer to
domestic flights at major Australian airports.

2.3Outlook and Performance
International travel to Australia measures the number of short term international
travellers arriving in Australia. Most of these travellers travel to Australia by air due
to the country s geographical isolation. As such, an increase in international travel to
Australia tends to increase demand for international air travel. In 2015 16, ... Show

The International Airlines industry will benefit over the next five years, as the
number of tourists significantly rises up every month. Especially, there are more and
more people from China are visiting Australia, which will provide Qantas with a
great revenue. However, the competitors of Qantas, with low cost tickets, can have a
big pressure on Qantas and lead to decrease in price. Although, there will be a greater
demand from Australians and international travellers to purchase tickets from this
industry. The demand of the company is planning to rise at an annualised 1.2% over

Child Labor In William Blake s Songs Of Innocence
In William Blake s poem Songs of Innocence, he addresses the issue of child labor
in London, and how it damages their innocence and health. Like the corruption in
London at the time, the children s essence is being corrupted by the lies they are
being told to get them to do their duties. Blake writes about a little boy, Tom Dacre,
who is new to chimney sweeping, and allows the audience to see what an innocent
childis like before his innocencedecomposes. Blake uses innocent Tom Dacre in this
poem to amplify his fight against child labor in London, and show society, how it
causes children s lives and innocence to decay. Although a minor character, Tom
Dacre undergoes a major evolution in only 24 lines, that represents the sad evolution
that many children in his position experience.
Including Tom Dacre in this poem, gives the reader someone to compare the speaker
too. He portrays Tom Dacre as innocent, and naГЇve to what is really going on around
him. He is who the speaker of the poem once was. Blake compares him to a lamb
when he describes his hair that curl d like a lamb s back (line 6). Lambs are
usually associated with innocence and gentleness, which is the best way to
describe Tom Dacre. He is unaware of the life that he is about to be exposed to, and
the detriment that it is about to do to him. Unlike the speaker, Tom Dacre cries and
is not able to see any positive in the situation until he talks to the speaker. He tries to
comfort Tom by telling him never mind it,

Before They Were Blue
In 1987, Chris, Phil and Matt found themselves in their mid 20s, sharing an apartment
in New
York City, each quite different but all in search of a creative outlet. Matt had once
read that life was a succession of hitting plateaus right when you needed to meet a

said. Phil was the relative newcomer to the group;
Matt and Chris had a history that extended back to high school.
Matt was born into a fourth generation New York City family, his mother a writer

school, which he described as a big institution with no soul, 6 and then the Fieldston
High School, a private institution. He recalled his high school years:
I was lucky to get into Fieldston at all. My test scores were so so; I later found out I

I bet you re wondering what s so bad about having the name April. There s nothing
wrong with it if you re a female. I m sorry, but If you don t know by now. I m going

Other than having the female name of April Brooks, I m an eighties baby. I m
proud to say that I was born in an era when it was cool to walk around wearing
Kangol hats, super thick gold rope chains, socks with penny loafers, and shoulder

India s Influence On India
India is a well known country that is located in Southern Asia, between Burma and
Pakistan while bordered by the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal. Distinguished
with a long history, it is known that the north western Aryan tribes came to settle with
the Dravidian tribe during 1500 B. C., thus creating what is now known as India(
Central Intelligence Agency , 2007). India is a high ranking country that has made its
mark in history, which has shaped the world today. From their love of culture, respect
and inner nature of purity and modesty to the influence in knowledge of Technology,
Science and Music, India is considered the mother of cultures. Even as a growing
partner to various thriving countries, they are still at the top of the pyramid. The first
area of interest is the political structure of this country. Great Britain had control over
India for some time until 15th August, 1947 when they gained independence. Almost
three years later when the Constitution of Indiacame into effect and, therefore, India
became a Republic on 26th January, 1950. India is the largest practising democracy
in the world, with elections at every level based on universal adult suffrage. General
elections are normally held every 5 years. Today, the Union of India comprises 29
states and 6 union territories with the Central Government at New Delhi, the capital
of the country. The political structure laid down by the Constitution is federal in

Social Work In The Military
Social work is a profession which seeks to better the lives of those in need. The
need can look like anything from political advocacy to those who are hungry. A
social worker can be found in an organization which has a purpose that is enhanced
or aided by the work we do which is guided by the ethics and values of the
profession. From social workers in a clinical setting to those in public libraries, these
ethics and values unite professionals in a variety of places and roles. The
accountability and standards social workhas aids the individual and profession to
keep the best candidates in the different positions we take. A social worker is like a
medic in the military. A medic is part of a unit that is there to assist the mission and
provide medical aide when necessary. The thread of social work connects good
people to a common goal. I have not had a specific moment in my life that has led

Relationships, Group Cohesion, Team Norms, And Strength
Introduction:
Throughout organizational behaviors we learned a lot about developing
relationships, group cohesion, and team norms / values. On October 6 and
November 17, we worked together in our teams to complete different activates with
different instructions. For our first challenge we had to build a tower using objects
that we put into a trash bag. We were judged on Beauty, Height, and strength. We had
a certain time frame to build our tours. On November 17 we were paired up with a
different team and instructed to build a bridge. Each team had to start from their own
sides and meet in the middle. The challenge was that only two team members from
each side could talk to each other and communicate about our ideas for constructing
the bridge. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
My name was picked out of a cup so I was the only person who could talk to the
other leader in group 3 who was Anh. Anh and I have worked with each other in the
past so we already had a past relationship. What was really unique was that the
leader of the team was randomly picked randomly so I believe this made the task a
little more challenging for each group.
I really liked this exercise because we had put our trust into the other group that we
would build the best bridge and try and win. The first category of trust (Appendix
C) is how much confidence you have you have in other s competence and abilities
(Cohen et al, pg. 223) I had a past relationship with Anh so it was easy for me to
trust her because I know she is a very hard worker and she always got her work don
based on the past relationship. I also worked with some of the members in her
group so I felt confident that my team and I could trust them to get things done.
The others team judgement was very sounds (Cohen et al, pg. 233) . They won the
previous contest so it was easy for us to trust that there judgement was good. My
team trusted Anh and her team because we all had a common goal of winning the
bridge challenge. We were working together and collaborating well together. Anh
and her team were in no way trying to harm our welfare (Cohen et al, pg. 233). Both
teams collaborated and feel through with what we said we were going to do. We
Animal Domestication In Prometheus Bound
Aeschylus s play Prometheus Bound portrays the conflict between the two most
powerful factors in human life: knowledge against force or equivalently, intellect
against might. Set in a world that is conflicted between opposing political ideals of
democracy and tyranny, the play characterizes the protagonist Prometheusas the
champion of man who symbolizes the rebel against the tyrant and depicts Zeusas the
destroyer of man. Prometheus, nailed to a rock on Caucasus, is at the mercy of Zeus
for disobeying his authority by giving fire blind hopes or practical reason to mankind.
Prometheus encounters the characters Io, the chorus, and Hermes, whose
characterizations as well as references to Zeus suggest whether Aeschylus s
sentiments lie with Prometheus or Zeus. The play describes images of animal
domestication, fire, and bondage, which deepen Prometheus s relationships with
these characters and lend insight into the nature of all human existence, suggesting
that Aeschylus sides with Prometheus. One of the central ways through which the
play s stance on Prometheus versus Zeus and the nature of human existence emerges
is through imagery of animal domestication. Animal domestication is largely
explored through the exchanges between Prometheus and Io the daughter of Inachus
who Zeus transformed into a heifer to protect her from Hera s anger. Prior to
encountering Prometheus, Io cries out: Son of Kronos, what fault, what fault, did you
find in me that you should yoke me to a
Analysis Of Seamus Heaney s The Wind s On Her Naked...
In lines one, two, and three of Punishment, Seamus Heaney wrote I can feel the tug;
of the halter at the nape; of the neck. These three lines of the poem must be read
together to understand that Heaney is basically describing how one is handcuffed
and took to jail for committing a certain crime. Heaney then in lines three and four
wrote the wind; on her naked front. These lines portray that after one is in jail, they
must then be ashamed in front of their peers for their action. This humiliation would
be in the form of a jury that would be determining if one is guilty or not guilty.
Heaney uses imagery in this stanza to help readers envision these events in a different
light. For example, in lines one through three, Heaney is... Show more content on

Once again, Heaney created this stanza to provide information on the woman s body,
but one starts to realize that modern day punishment is just as harsh as primitive
punishment, just in a different form. At the end of the stanza, Heaney uses a period
to show the changing of events. Here, he is describing that once one is humiliated,
they are then stripped of their life.
Stanza Three Stanza three starts to show that the crimes one commits also starts to
fade them into distant memories along with the others who create punishable acts.
Seamus Heaney wrote in lines one and two, I can see her drowned; body in the bog.
When read together, these lines start to show that once one is stripped of their life,
in jail, they are just another part of a lifeless society, and start to fade into distant
memory. Heaney uses imagery to describe a lifeless body in a bog, and this helps
one envision her mixed in with a crowd of prisoners and forgotten. Heaney in line
three states the weighing stone. From this, one can infer that she was weighed
down by the outside world, and that her life has been hampered by her actions. In
line four, Heaney wrote the floating rods and boughs. The imagery created here
helps envision how one would walk around in a jail among all the other prisoners
just wasting their life away. Heaney created this stanza to describe a real body that
had been drowned for its crime (Fawbert, n.d.). This

Vasco Da Gama Summary
The author of this traveler account is Vasco da Gama himself. He was born about
1460 in Portugal and was a famous navigator for the King of Portugal. Da Gama
starts off his journal by describing his voyage to the Bay of St. Helena in 1497, also
describing himself as the Captain Major in third person. Da Gama had anchored in
the bay for eight days to clean their ships and took captive on of the natives,
feeding him and dressing him well, he was returned to land and that helped da
Gama gain entry with the other natives to their land. He describes the inhabitants
as ...tawny colored. Their food is confined to the flesh of seals, whales and
gazelles, and the roots of herbs. They are dressed in skins, and wear sheaths over
their virile members. They are armed with poles of olive wood to which a horn,
browned in the fire, is attached. Their numerous dogs resemble those of Portugal, and
bark like them. Da Gama notices the similarity of dogs in St. Helena to those of his
home country of Portugal, which I don t think he expected to see. Vasco goes on to
explain how he showed them merchandise that he brought from Portugal and all the
natives were amazed by it. The following night, da Gama is at supper and then says
that he hears shouting and sees one of his crew being chased by the natives across the
beach and quickly they depart from this bay, due to some miscommunication where
the natives started to attack them.
Many things interested da Gama and had led him to navigate all the
The Decline of the Holy Roman Empire Essay
The Holy Roman Empire was an empire in central Europe consisting of many
territories and ethnicities. Once very powerful, the empire s authority slowly
decreased over centuries and by the Middle Ages the emperor was little more than a
figurehead, allowing princes to govern smaller sections of the empire. Though the
various ruling princes owed loyalty to the emperor, they were also granted a degree
of independence and privileges. The emperor, an elected monarch, needed the
allegiance of the princes and other aristocracy to support him, in turn giving them
power or money. This tenuous allegiance between powers was greatly strained in the
sixteenth and seventeenth centuries as religious reform dominated Europe and
religious tensions... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
On October 31, 1517, when monk Martin Luther nailed The 95 Theses to the door of a
cathedral in Wittenberg, Germany, he had no idea that he was sparking the Protestant
Reformation (Greengrass 44 45). These 95 theses consisted of Luther s complaints and
disagreements with and regarding the Catholic Church, particularly on the use of
indulgences a remission of temporal penalties for sin sold to individuals seeking
salvation (Greengrass 6, 44). The indulgences were claimed to lessen the time an
individual s soul spent in purgatory, commissioned by the Pope of the time, Leo X,
and in collaboration with various bishops and archbishops (Linder 22). When Luther
nailed his theses to the door, they quickly spread, spurning uproar. First, the theses
were sent to Archbishop Albrecht, the superior of an indulgence selling monk that
parishioners of Luther had come into contact with. Then, the document (originally
published in Latin) was translated to German and spread throughout the Holy Roman
Empire. Luther verbalized many common complaints in his theses and became a
sort of hero. The ability of the printing press enabled Luther s theses to widely
circulate as he was thrust into public eye and began the path of Reformation (Linder
23 24). A large part of Luther s success came from the Reformation propaganda that
spread through the printing press. Mostly woodcuts,
Cost Containment And Quality Of Care
Assignment 4
Introduction
It is essential to acknowledge the fact that the costs of health care in the United States
is expensive. Furthermore, many factors influence the inflation of health care costs.
Consequently, there have been numerous failed attempts to control the costs of health
care. As a result, some of the failed attempts to control the increasing costs of health
care were lowering health care provider payments, decreasing health benefits, and
increasing out of pocket costs for patients (Shannon, 2009). Overall, one definition of
cost containment is to contain health care providers profits and income (Oberland,
2011). However, it seems that containment should also focus on the high medical
service prices as well. The purpose of this paper is to reconcile cost containment and
quality of care.
Three Examples of Cost Containment Options
The first example of a cost containment option is provider payment reform.
Therefore, the provider payment reform consists of changing provider payments
from a fee for service system to a value based payment system (Grinsburg, 2013). As
a result, health care providers will be rewarded for increasing quality while reducing
health care costs (Grinsburg, 2013). In addition, the new payment reform will
reimburse health care providers for care coordination and patient education services
that are not reimbursed under the current fee for service payment system (Ginsburg,
2013). Overall, value based health care services tends

Villas originated in Italy. They used to be the country houses of the city dwellers who
wanted to unwind amid peaceful surroundings at different time of the year. Many of
the Italian villas still fulfil similar needs. Ironically though, their popularity is no
longer limited to the country itself. They are now one of the most common
architectural types of family home seen worldwide.

Many luxury villas still continue to be seasonal getaways. They act like a secondary

Latin American Civil War Analysis
In the 1980 s many areas of Central America were facing fierce civil wars that
claimed many lives. This is seen as part of the Cold War since many of the wars were
politically based such as the Contras fighting the Sandinista Government in
Guatemala which was a Socialist Government. In Guatemala, meanwhile, a Civil War
between Leftist groups and the Guatemalan Military lasted for 36 years and almost
200,000 people were either killed or disappeared (Latino Radio). The aspect of the
Dirty Wars transferred to Latin America who also experienced disappearances and
gunfights. The only outstanding difference between Honduras and Guatemalawith
Argentina and Chile is that those countries were more developed with greater

Nearly overnight, families getting by on barely sixty dollars a month were told
that their water bill would average fifteen dollars a month, a 200 percent hike
(Chasteen 286). This hyper inflation trend happened all over Latin America where
there were example of people waiting in line for commodities such as bread and the
price changing for every minute that passes. Having to pay incredibly high bill in
that were unrealistic to pay with their lower wages. Once the short term benefits of
Neoliberalism wore out, the long term effects became obvious strongly shown in
Latin American society. Inequality in Latin America was incredibly high during
this period seeing that the liberal model of politics highly benefits those who
recognize the system and puts down those of low skills working low class jobs. In
many places over Latin America it is very obvious that such inequality exists
where barrios or favelas exist near high class motels for the wealthy these barriers
most likely housing the underpaid maids for the motels. A statistic exists that states
23% of Bolivia s population makes $2 a week. Such an occurrence is common
throughout Latin America as the expulsion of labor unions allowed for such
employment practices to occur. These were known as informal jobs where people
worked in low conditions for low wages with low opportunities and benefits.

Negative Effects Of Heavy Metal Music
Many Teens and adults don t understand how harmful music can be. It has a very
big effect on us in a good way like calming us down, or the bad way like making us
more aggressive by listening to metal. People these days listen more to music than
to anything else. It is a big problem, for a lot of people because, the songs that
today s teens like having a lot of cursing, violence and thing like that. Most young
people have a big influence on music lyrics. Music like heavy metal and similar
styles have a bad effect on the person that is listening to it. Also calm music and
good lyrics, can calm a person down, make him relaxed, and get him a great feeling
for the rest of the day. Most people will say that music is a big part of their live, and
when we live with the music we are listening to it so that we can look like the image
that the songis giving. Whether it s a good image or not.
Music lyrics in heavy metal and styles that are very similar, have a bad influence that
will make us get angry quickly, and lose our temper more often. There is evidence,
however, that heavy a music subculture particularly heavy metal music can signal
problems. According to the Journal of the American Medical Association, Teenage
immersion into a rock subculture may be primarily symptomatic of alienation and
hostility toward adult society. The music may be both a portrait of their alienation
and an unflattering reflection of their perception of moral and ethical duplicity of
adult society.
Sonic Monologue
Scourage s POV I mind as well stay in this damn jail for the rest of my days. Things
just aren t the same anymore. So what if I lost my temper and was about to go ape
shit on the rest of my crew? All s I wanted to was get back at sonic and those damn
freedom fighters and now here I am, barely feeling like myself let alone an anti
sonic in jail without any of my other team mates. this straight up sucks! I said
punching my hand into the wall. When I did get here it was to look for sonic, but
instead I found shadow. I didn t mind picking a fight with that dude, I d figure I d
give him a run for his money, but even in my super form I lost, and it felt like it
didn t take much either. at least I don t get bullied around here... I said to myself,...

African America As A Nation Of Slaves In America
Though this nation has proudly thought of itself as an ethnic melting pot, in things
racial we have always been and continue to be, in too many ways, essentially a
nation of cowards, Attorney General Eric Holder. I do believe that as a nation, we
do steer away from controversial subjects as race, racism, and the old times of slavery
. As a nation we have come a very good way from the past, slaves are no longer a
part of everyday life, and for the most part there are equal opportunities, and laws
for equal opportunities for anyone of all races, colors, and ethnic backgrounds.
Through the years African Americans have been a target for slavery at the
beginning of times to the still racial slurs people utter under their breaths. We as a
nation need to come together as one and realize the considerable experiences
African Americans have been through. In the late 1700 s slaves were uprooted
from their homes in West Africa, shackled and transported to the New World,
where they were sold off. The conditions of the chambers where the African
American slaves were held were deplorable, roomed with rats and given just
enough food for survival. They endured physical and psychological trials from the
European slave traders, who saw them as only a pretty penny. Many slaves did not
make the full journey and died from smallpox. Coming forty seven years or so later,
a case was made against slavery and owning and selling the people of Africa by
Edward Trelawny. Unfortunately, slaves
Cadavers Ethical Dilemmas
Life after death can be helpful to scientists and doctors. One way in which this is
possible is the use of cadavers. Cadavers are bodies of people who have recently died.
These people donate their bodies to science so doctors can go over the body and
study why that specific person has died or try to figure out how people die from
different diseases. While cadavers have been used for thousands of years dating
back to the ancient Egyptians in 300 B.C (Roach, 2003) there have been many
since then who have used cadavers for science. Some have even used living people
such as prisoners to dissect and study. While corpses have been studied for thousands
of years they were unsure of how to preserve the bodies for long so bodies were
being needed more... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It was able to go in great detail and give me knowledgeable information about what
she feels is important in the scientific community. Moral issues are always a
problem when we talk about research on dead bodies and I feel that she did a nice
job going over some moral dilemmas that science has had to go through and work
on. I enjoyed the book in whole and I felt that it gave me everything that I needed
to improve my knowledge on the topic of cadavers. Cadavers are interesting, gross,
cool, and make learning worthwhile. I appreciate the fact that I am able to work on
and study the cadaver s weekly. The amount of care that goes into keeping the
cadavers preserved is also something that I find to be a great thing. Taking care of
this person that is no longer living gives you the feeling that no matter the condition
humans are able to overcome any discomforts they may have with studying and can
keep the experiments coming. I believe that it is essential that we continue to use
corpses to experiment. I also feel as though the way some of the experiments are
conducted could be changed to keep the integrity of the person intact. Even though
they may be dead when we begin to look at them at one time they were a human
being that deserves some
Personal Narrative-Palestinian Occupied Territory
Palestinian Occupied Territory
After living under Israeli occupation their whole lives, and with no prospect of
political resolution on the horizon, Palestinian youth have taken to the streets this
month in protest. As I sit and watch the polarizing coverage now considered to be
at near catastrophic levels from afar, disparate emotions dart around inside me like
pinballs, striking chords and hitting nerves. There s the sadness, of course the
sadness that I always feel when I think about Palestine that is now pulled to the
surface and sharper than usual. Sadness that so many of today s young people are
lost to a struggle that is decades old. Sadness that it feels like it may continue for
decades more.
Next come the waves of frustration. As ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Instead our elected representatives are quick to condemn Palestinian violence, to ask
how we would react if we were threatened by rockets coming over the border from
Mexico ? So, I ll ask some similar questions: How would you feel if you were born
and raised in Chicago and then barred from ever visiting again? What if you were in
labor and the military blocked your way to the hospital so you had to give birth on
the side of the road? What if your brother was shot and killed by a soldier, and the
case was never brought to trial?
I find hope in the eyes of my lifelong Jewish American friends as they nod in
understanding (or ask us to write essays like this). I feel hopeful when people ask
me what it means to be Palestinian. I feel hopeful when I m given the opportunity to
explain that Palestinians live with a deep anguish spawned by a lifetime spent under
occupation. I want people in my American home to look at people in my Palestinian
home and know that all they want are the same basic things Americans demand for
themselves like equal protection under the law. Like the ability to not only survive,
but to really

is a crucial task for explorative information analysis on graph information. Over the
years, several algorithms are planned to unravel this task. These algorithms assume
that the information structure of the mining task is tiny enough to suit within the
main memory of a laptop. However, because the real world graph information

I Love My Pet Animals
Sharing our lives, opening our hearts to pure unconditional love. They are the best
friends that we can ever have. They won rsquo;t let us down, they are always
happy to see us, they don rsquo;t judge us in any form, they don rsquo;t look at us
with utter disdain if we put on weight. They trust us implicitly, with a wag of a tail
or the twitch of a whisker telling us that they intuitively know how we feel. The look
in their eyes says it all ndash; I love you.
Our companion animals, our pets. We, as humans think that we have chosen our
pets, in many situations it seems as if we have. However, many times on a higher
level of awareness, they have chosen us. How many times do you see people that
look like their dogs or is it that their dogs look like them! The feline fellowship and
affinity that comes from the cats that slink into our lives helps us attune to life.

Even though I call myself a dogaholic, I love all animals big and small!
There is one other fact of life that cannot be ignored. The emotional earthquake of
grief when your beloved pet transitions from their physical body. Many people feel
the same intense feelings of loss and physical separation irrespective of whether it is
a human being or non human being. It rsquo;s irrelevant whether the pet is four
legged, two legged, furry or feathered. Grief is grief, loss is loss. The feelings are the
same, the challenges are no less.
The manifestation of the grief process is different for everyone, but the root cause is
the same. It rsquo;s not something you learn in textbooks, but the actual experience
catapults you to a totally different dimension of your inner being that perhaps you
never knew existed. There are people who chose not to deal with the grieving process
and consciously
History And Geography Of Greece Essay
Introduction
As part of the team in charge of evaluating the possibility of entering in Greece to
start an olive business, i took the time to dig into the history and geography of the
country, its economy, how the government operates, the culture, and any potential
ethical concern that will prevent us from entering the country. The following report
covers each of this aspect and provides a recommendation on entering the market.
Overview
Greece, located in the Southern Europe and has a very irregular shaped peninsula, it
is surrounded to the east by the Aegean Sea, to the west by the Ionian Sea, and to the
south by the Mediterranean Sea. Greece is also located between Africa, Asia and
Europe which makes it very attractive and strategic destination. Greece gained its
independence in 1830 from The Ottoman Empire and over the years has gone through
a various number transformation from the Ancient Greece to the Republic of Greece.
Its capital Athens is located in the heart of the country and has kept most of its
landmarks since the 5th century. Greece joined the European Union in June 2001, has
suffered a severe economic crisis in 2009 and recently agreed on its third bailout
valued at$96 Billion.
Economy
Before the crisis, the country had a GDP of 354.46 Billion Dollars with a minimum
of 3% growth and was in par wit all European Union rules. According to the CIA as
of 2016 Greece has a GDP of 195.21 Billion Dollars and a 2% deficit. Greece is still
trying to recover
The Legalization Of Recreational And Medical Use Of
Marijuana
The legalization of recreational and medical use of marijuana is still a controversial
social issue faced by the United States. Although marijuana was seen as a dangerous
drug back in the 1900 s, research has revealed the truth about marijuana, making the
drug less frightening towards Americans. Now in the year 2015, marijuana is
generally more accepted by Americans and many more see marijuana in a positive
manner. Although marijuana does have some negative side effects, the side effects
are not severe enough to justify a ban on the use of marijuana. In addition, due to the
extensive research released on marijuana, people can clearly see the benefits
legalizing marijuana would bring to the United States. Marijuana should be legal in
all fifty states because the benefits outweigh any disadvantages and due to the
benefits Colorado is receiving, it shows legalizing marijuana is an excellent choice.
One of the main uses of marijuana is for medical reasons. Marijuana contains a
chemical called THC, which according to the Medicinal Marijuana Association, it
makes marijuana beneficial to patients suffering from illnesses such as AIDS, cancer,
glaucoma, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, spinal cord injuries and many other serious,
debilitating, or terminal conditions. The properties in marijuana can greatly relieve
chronic pain associated with these illnesses (Listland). By legalizing marijuana for
medical purposes, patients who have suffered from severe chronic pain can have

The Potential of Transgenic Organism
A Transgenic Organism is an organism that s genetic material has been transformed
using a technique called genetic engineering. This modification contains the
mutation, insertion, or deletion of genes. When there is an insertion of genes, they
are most commonly from a different species, this is known as horizontal genetransfer.
Another way genes can be transferred is in nature, when exogenous DNA(DNA
originating outside an organism that has been introduced into the organism) gets
through the organisms cell membrane. When biologists do this artificially, they can
either attach the gene to a virus, insert the gene into the nucleus, or use an electric
pulse.
Transgenic organisms are important to science because they have uses in biological
and medical research, production of pharmaceutical drugs, experimental medicine,
and agriculture. In medical applications, in cases of xenotransplantation (an operation
in which an organ or tissue is transferred from one animal to another of a different
species), a transgenic pig could be able to give a donation of the heart to a human.
Transgenic animals such as cows can produce more nutritious milk for human
consumption which can help in diets or supplements. In agricultural applications,
animals could improve quality that they give with meat and milk, gain disease
resistance, and breeding for selective traits.
Current research on GMO s has been done through loss of function, gain of function,
tracking experiments, and expression

but that s not my main belief. Could I go on and on for pages and pages on that
belief? You bet I could, but I m not going to. Instead I m going to tell you why I

Following that we had reason number two: I ve already done this essay before. So
that indeed puts us at number three. Reason number three: I am a girl of many
beliefs and therefore should not be forced to simply choose one AGAIN.
Remember, I ve had to make the decision of what belief to write about many times
before, and I nearly yanked my hair out every time. This time I m calling it quits. I
refuse to make a decision, and I refuse to write this essay. So let me perish in the
flames of failure, or in simpler terms let me fail, but forcing an indecisive girl like
myself to make a decision such as this is just plain barbaric. Welcome to the world
of reason number four. Yes, that s right, I actually have more than three reasons to
support my argument. I bet I would make a decent lawyer. It s too bad the world
will be denied my arguing skills, because that s absolutely NOT the career path I
choose to take. I ll stick to my original plans, thank you very much. I would tell
you, but that is not part of my argument and would only detract from the
seriousness and importance of my point. Reason number four is that all of my
beliefs really are simple. They shouldn t take much explaining. In fact, I don t know
how I managed to write all of those previous essays. If I remember right, there was a
good amount of me adding a bunch of things that didn t need to be in there, in short
they were completely filled with redundancy. These essays were very much like

The cultivation manufacturing would create a higher quality and capacity which
means a maximization of potency. If the animal and agriculture commodity

received the Southern Pacific Coast Region of Hadassah Humanitarian Award.
Lorna was a women who took matters into her own hands and showed the people in
Arizona that woman can do anything they set their mind too. Lorna is a woman with
lots of courage and respect here in Arizona. Another man who was artistically
influential that was in Arizona was a star named Alice Cooper. Alice moved to
Arizona from Detroit in the 1960 s. He went to Cortez High School, and he now
currently lives in Paradise Valley. Alice Cooper was a hard core Rock and Roll artist.
Over the course of Cooper s career he has sold more than 50 million records. One
of Alice s most well known song is School s out and I m Eighteen . His music did
not skyrocket until the late 60 s early 70 s. He was famous because his music was
indifferent from all of the other stars that compete alongside him. There were
many Rock and Roll stars that had concerts and shows just as Alice did, but he did
it a little more different. Alice s performance in his concerts were scary and loud.
He wanted to be an artist that sang Rock n Roll, but he wanted to put a more gore
spin on his style. He wanted to have gore and scare into his concerts. His music was a
blend of metallic style and pop blends. Many people went to see him because he was
different and gorey. He always wanted to

The Doctrinal Cycle Of Federalism
Federalism is when states or provinces share power with a national government. The
United States government functions by applying the principles of federalism. The
doctrinal cycle of federalism is when the state gain power for a while and then the
power is disbursed to the national government for a while. The power is given back
and forth between the states and the national government creating a cycle of
federalism. The ideology of the Supreme Court is an important factor for
determining what level of Congress will hold the power. A liberal Supreme Court
is more likely to let the national government hold more power, while a conservative
court is more likely to let the states hold more power. There are three types of
federalism which are cooperative, dual, and new. The ideology of the Supreme Court
affects what type of federalism that the country will live under.
Cooperative federalism is when all three levels of government collectively interact
to solve common problems. In cooperative federalism there is a strong national
government and the Supreme Court allowed Congress to grow and become more
powerful. The court s ideology during this time was more liberal, which impacts how
the court will decide on cases that are presented to them. The McCulloch v. Maryland
case was about Congress creating The Second Bank of the United States, in the state
of Maryland. Maryland at the time passed legislation that would impose a tax on the
bank. James W. McCulloch, a cashier at the

  • 1. Check Essay Writing an essay on the topic "Check Essay" presents a unique set of challenges that require a delicate balance of self-analysis and critical evaluation. The inherent difficulty lies in the need to objectively assess one's own writing while navigating the fine line between self-confidence and self-criticism. Beginning the essay involves a deep dive into personal writing habits, strengths, and weaknesses. This introspective process demands honesty and a keen eye for detail. Identifying areas that require improvement is an essential aspect, but it can be challenging to strike the right tone—constructive rather than overly self-deprecating. The evaluation process extends beyond grammar and syntax. It delves into the nuances of argumentation, coherence, and the overall effectiveness of the written piece. Pinpointing the strengths can boost confidence, but acknowledging weaknesses requires a certain level of humility and a commitment to growth. Furthermore, the writer must grapple with the subjectivity inherent in self-assessment. Balancing self-awareness with objectivity can be elusive, as personal biases may cloud the judgment. It becomes a task of unraveling the layers of one's writing style and preferences to present a fair and accurate analysis. Expressing these insights coherently poses another hurdle. Transforming internal reflections into a well-structured and articulate essay demands a mastery of language and rhetorical finesse. The ability to communicate the evaluation effectively adds an additional layer of complexity to the writing process. In conclusion, crafting an essay on the topic "Check Essay" necessitates a delicate dance between self-awareness and objectivity. The difficulty lies not only in identifying areas of improvement but also in articulating these findings in a constructive and coherent manner. It is a challenging endeavor that demands introspection, honesty, and a mastery of language. For those seeking assistance with similar essays or various writing tasks, professional services like HelpWriting.net offer a convenient solution. Expert writers can provide guidance, constructive feedback, and even create custom essays tailored to specific needs. • 2. Expectancy Theory The expectancy theory by Victor Bloom is based on the believe that organizational employees act in a certain way based on the strength of an outcome and how attractive the outcome is to the individual. The theory contains three main relationships and when all three are maintained the desired behavior from the employee will be achieved. These three relationships are effort performance (Expectant probability), performance reward (Instrumentality probability) and rewards personal goals (Valence). In the effort performance relationship or expectancy the employee must believe that if they perform in a certain manner that they will indeed increase their performance and thus make goals obtainable. In order for the employee to actually... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Then to gain interest in the rewards, there needs to be an overhaul of the reward system itself. There needs to be variety in the rewards. A poll could be taken of the employees and ask them what would be fair rewards for met goals. The employer could take the majority opinion of the poll and offer the result as a reward or offer options of rewards either by individuals or by group. The rewards must be of value to the employee that is the bottom line. The company needs to have transparency in the new goal and reward program. That will make sure there is confidence and fairness in the reward program. Employees must see that the achievers are being rewarded while the underachievers are not. This tangible difference must be known and visible to reinforce that things are now different and effort is awarded. This aspect addresses the instrumentality relationship aspect of the expectancy theory. To accommodate those employees that are motivated by recognition, individual rewards that include company wide recognition should be established in addition to the monetary or benefit rewards. Team recognition awards could also be established. This would create a little friendly competition while providing openly displayed performance numbers which in turn provides positive feedback for increased performance. By making sure that the reward system has value and makes the employee desire to make the goal and
  • 3. Heneman Trailer Truck Drivers Literature Review The job of a tractor trailer truck driver can vary greatly from company to company. Therefore, this analysis will focus on the core tasks and requirements. According to the National Center for O*NET Development, heavy and tractor trailer truck drivers are required to ensure equipment is working properly, follow safety procedures for transporting goods, make certain that cargo is secure, drive and maneuver trucks, read and interpret directions, and maintain logs according to relevant regulations. This requires knowledge of transportation, public safety and security, and the English language. It also requires skills and abilities in operation and control, monitoring, time management, critical thinking, reaction time, control... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Trucking jobs at one company may look very different from those at another, and their selection systems should reflect that. It is also important to remember to follow any regulations in place in the geographic location. With that said, recruitment strategies should be creative and try to extend beyond the traditional methods. Referrals may be useful in the industry, if care is taken to avoid adverse impact. It also makes sense to advertise in directed mediums, like in truck stops across the country. If the organization has the money to invest, they could also build their talent and provide training to the people they want to put into their talent pipeline by providing courses leading to CDL licensure. This could create a sense of commitment to the organization and reduce turnover. As far as selection, job history data may be more relevant to these jobs than it is to others. It would also be wise to check into any criminal history the person has. Verification of both of these sources is absolutely key to success. A physical would also be necessary to determine if the person is physically able to safely drive a truck. A simulation or road course would be ideal for this job, as it could determine if the driver would be able to handle the exact requirements of the job and can be highly
  • 4. When I Went To Walmart I went home the weekend of October 8 and 9th. On Sunday October 9th my mom and I went to Walmart. I was hoping that she would buy me tea so I did not have to buy it myself. However, the Walmart in Wadsworth, Ohio, my home town, was completely out of 12 packs of Lipton Citrus Green Iced Tea. There was no kiosk for them and there were none of that flavor in the aisle. At this Walmart, where they should have been was surrounded by other types of Lipton, Pure Life, and Snapple teas. On Monday October 10th, I went to Walmart in Ashland because I failed to purchase teain Wadsworth. They had it, but were also surprisingly low stocked. My theory is this product is a star in the summer time, but in the fall and winter months it is more of a cash cow.
  • 5. Differential Calculus Essay Differential Calculus Differential calculus is one of the subfields of calculus, and deals with the rate of change of various quantities. The other field of calculus is integral calculus, the two fields being the inverse of each other. One way to understand the relationship is to observe that differential calculus cuts a whole into tiny pieces, to find out how quickly it changes, while integral calculus put the small pieces together to find the whole. Differential calculus is the study of rate of change, using the tools of limits and derivatives. Since differential calculus studies rates of change, any function that changes continuously can be differentiated. To determine the rate of change between two points on a graph, you calculate the slope of the secant intersecting these two points (see below). The secant is a linear function of the form (y=ax+b).Therefore, the slope is constant, and can be determined as: a=(y_2 y_1)/(x_2 x_1 )=∆y/∆x,∆x and ∆y is read as the change in x in respect of the change in y. ... The instantaneous rate of change is the ∆y is the distance between f(x) and f(x + ∆x). ∆x is the distance between x and (x + ∆x). The formula for calculating the average slope between A and B (secant line) is(f(x+∆x) f(x))/((x+∆x) x)=(f(x+∆x) f(x))/∆x, where ∆x accounts for the distance between the two points, f(x+∆x ) and

  • 7. Anne Moody s Non-Violence Non violence was the key to the civil rights movement. The civil rights movement was a mass popular movement to secure for African Americans equal access and opportunities for the basic privileges and rights of the U.S. citizenship. African Americans used the approach of non violence to get important issues handled. A few of the important issues was to end segregation, racial inequality, and get voting rights. Although it took several years to get these acts handled, African Americans were determined not to give up. Anne Moody wrote a biography on her life growing up in Mississippi, and how she was impacted during the civil rights movement. The civil rights movement was a success was because of its religious leaders and how they inspired people. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr was most influential on the non violent approach. Dr. King enforced that violence was not going to get anything solved. Anne did not agree with Dr. King on the nonviolent approach because she did not see anything positive coming from it in a timely manner. Little did she know, Dr. King s nonviolence resistance would be what got noticed? Anne Moody was brought up in the church, and was very active while she was there. Anne lost her faith, after the bombing of the church, which killed four innocent girls. In the book Anne talked about how the older people focused on heaven, while people her age just tried to better themselves. Religious beliefs played an important role in African Americans lives. Although African Americans were going through so many negative things, they never doubted their God. To African Americans church was a place where they were considered free despite what society thought. They saw that their skin color did not matter, but that they were all equal in God s eyes. A few of the religious leaders who helped with the movement were Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Andrew Young, and Jesse Jackson. Religion is the crucial ingredient that kept the movement alive in the face of death, poverty and large scale
  • 8. King Philip Essays King Philip s War was a disturbing war fought in America in 1675, almost certainly as a result of the early contact between the English Colonists and the Native Americans. The Natives were, and had always been fighting for their freedom and land, as well as their culture unharmed. Though the Natives had their own religious beliefs, the Colonists felt that they were the greater man, and that God would play a part by remaining on their side. The Nativesdid not trust the English with their multiplecheated promises and such, and it was only expected that the Natives would not believe in the English. Alexander died shortly after his reign from what is believed to have been an ill fever of some type. At this time, Metacomet, King Philip, would become the Grand Sachem of the Wampanoags. Philip was the predecessor of Tecumseh and was an excellent leader of the tribe. He knew that the English would try and rid them of their land and expand more until they wiped out his tribe totally. King Philip would need to get other tribes to understand what the English were doing, and to join him in the defense of their being. It wasn t long until the English learned of this attempt at a possible revolt against them, and therefore in 1671, King Philip was forced to a southern area in Massachusetts known as Taunton. He was ordered to give up most of the firearms that the tribe possessed, but still kept a number of firearms within the Indians. Further, he signed an agreement with the Colony of Plymouth on September 29, 1671 that said his tribe would abide by colonial laws and guidelines with war affairs and Indian land. This was just another one of the Englishmen s ways of stripping the Wampanoag s of their power, but was probably only indeed signed by King Philip because he was under strict enforcement, and it would give him a little breathing room with the English. Not forgetting about the tribes that King Philip attempted to have join them in their revolt against the English, the Naragansett, Nipmuc, and Pocumtuc tribes all gave their support to Philip and whatever he
  • 9. Movie Going Essay 1946 was the peak of theater going as a pastime in America. 90 million people a week were going to the movies creating a box office revenue of $1.7 billion dollars. The invention of television and the Paramount case in 1948 delivered crucial blows to the industry. By 1957, attendance was down to 40 million viewers per week. Televisions had become common household appliances and people were watching a lot of it. In 1960, the average household spent 5 hours a day watching television. The filmindustry had to adapt and find ways to win back their once loyal fan base. The studios tried multiple strategies to in an attempt to drive people back to the theaters. The idea was to leverage what cinema had that television did not. Mainly, that was big screens and color. Movie going was an experience and that experience needed improving. Many theaters improved their sound systems and leveraged technologies like CinemaScope and VistaVision to make the screen look even bigger and provide a more immersive theatrical experience. Unfortunately, this strategy fell short of making an impact and box office revenue continued to stay very low. The studios began to realize that instead of viewing television as a direct competitor, maybe there were ways to form a multi beneficial relationship. The first step toward a more modern ... Even the ban of on screen nudity ended in 1957 with Excelsior Pictures v. Regents of the University of New York
  • 10. Analysis Of The Lottery By Shirley Jackson Sometimes following a crowd isn t always a good. The theme of these two stories is about following a crowd. You shouldn t follow a crowd, even if you think it is a good idea it could still end up very badly. Like if you were at a party, and someone brings drugs or drinks and you are underage that is not a good thing to be involved in, and not a group of people you should want to be around. The Lotteryby Shirley Jackson, is a short storyabout a town that gets together on June 27th on a sunny summer day for the lottery. They all gather around and each person takes a slip of paper out of the black box, and the person with the black dot on their paper wins . But you don t actually win, you get stoned to death by all the people that you lived with in the town. First They Came by Martin Niemoller, is a story about the Socialists, the Trade Union, the Jews, and Martin Niemoller. The Nazis started coming for the Socialists, and Martin didn t say anything. The they came for the Trade Union, and Martin didn t say anything. Then they came for the Jews, and Martin didn t say anything. And then they came for Martin, and no one was there to help him, and why would they because he didn t try to help them. Both The Lottery and First They Came deal with following a crowd, but they do so in different ways. Surely, The Lottery is about following a crowd. For example, in paragraph two it talks about all the boys and girls starting to gather around the town s center. Bobby Martin had already stuffed his pockets full of stones, selecting the smoothest and roundest stones. Then Harry Jones and Dickie Delacroix made a great pile of stones in the corner, and started putting some in their pockets like Bobby Martin. All of the boys followed Bobby Martin because he is one of the older boys, and because they thought it was the right thing to do. It was definitely not the right thing to do. What if one of them were to get the black dot I beat they wouldn t enjoy if people already had rocks ready to be thrown at them. Another example from the lottery is from paragraph one the people in the village begin to gather in the square, between the post office and the bank at ten o clock. They all

The main functions of silviculture include control, protect, facilitate and salvage. Aspects of these functions can be observed at the Lafayette Field Station among the growing American chestnut trees. Silviculturists use control to manipulate the growth of forests for certain benefits. Controlling a forest can be done by altering a tree s genes, adjusting its sunlight and choosing its surroundings. Some desired outcomes would be a more diverse forest, trees with certain traits who are better adapted, or to attain a certain age of trees. In order to conserve a native species and protect it from extinction, scientists must battle viruses, unsustainability, invasives etc. that threaten the species. For the example of the American chestnut, the young chestnuts are growing in gated areas. This protects them from animals or other intruders that may disturb the chestnuts. The shelterwoods surrounding the chestnuts also serve as a defense. To facilitate is to make something easier. In silviculture, this mostly involves regeneration. The American chestnuts were directly seeded, which certainly facilitated their growth. The final function of silviculture is to salvage. In order to reap the most benefits of a forest, it must be maintained sustainably. This, in the long run, is more profitable for both humans and nature. Many years ago, before the blight affected the American chestnuts, they were bountiful across the eastern United States. They were greatly valued for their use in construction. If this new hybridized chestnut is a success, then perhaps it can be established once again. The American chestnut research being done at Lafayette seems to have a promising future. After nearly two decades of anti pirate policies in the colonies, colonial officials no longer deemed it necessary to aggressively convict anyone suspected of piracy out of fear of losing their charter, as they had prior to 1705. Furthermore, the defining legal question leading to extreme ambiguity in the prosecution of pirates during the seventeenth century was at what point did acting outside of one s commission constitute an act of piracy? The conclusion of Great Britain s hostilities with France and Spain in 1713 rendered this question irrelevant as the new wave of pirates targeted primarily British, not neutral or allied ships, clearly defining their aggression as piracy. The change in targets also reduced the prosecution s need to rely on accomplice testimony, a source of controversy in civil law proceedings, since attacks occurring off nearby shores provided easier access to victim testimony. Finally, the increase in colonial newspapers and the dissemination of their publication of piracy trials reports did assist in reducing procedural inconsistencies, but not in the way previously suggested. Animal Domestication In Prometheus Bound Aeschylus s play Prometheus Bound portrays the conflict between the two most powerful factors in human life: knowledge against force or equivalently, intellect against might. Set in a world that is conflicted between opposing political ideals of democracy and tyranny, the play characterizes the protagonist Prometheusas the champion of man who symbolizes the rebel against the tyrant and depicts Zeusas the destroyer of man. Prometheus, nailed to a rock on Caucasus, is at the mercy of Zeus for disobeying his authority by giving fire blind hopes or practical reason to mankind. Prometheus encounters the characters Io, the chorus, and Hermes, whose characterizations as well as references to Zeus suggest whether Aeschylus s sentiments lie with Prometheus or Zeus. The play describes images of animal domestication, fire, and bondage, which deepen Prometheus s relationships with these characters and lend insight into the nature of all human existence, suggesting that Aeschylus sides with Prometheus. One of the central ways through which the play s stance on Prometheus versus Zeus and the nature of human existence emerges is through imagery of animal domestication. Animal domestication is largely explored through the exchanges between Prometheus and Io the daughter of Inachus who Zeus transformed into a heifer to protect her from Hera s anger. At the end of the stanza, Heaney uses a period to show the changing of events. Here, he is describing that once one is humiliated, they are then stripped of their life. Stanza Three Stanza three starts to show that the crimes one commits also starts to fade them into distant memories along with the others who create punishable acts. Seamus Heaney wrote in lines one and two, I can see her drowned; body in the bog. When read together, these lines start to show that once one is stripped of their life, in jail, they are just another part of a lifeless society, and start to fade into distant memory. Heaney uses imagery to describe a lifeless body in a bog, and this helps one envision her mixed in with a crowd of prisoners and forgotten. Heaney in line three states the weighing stone. From this, one can infer that she was weighed down by the outside world, and that her life has been hampered by her actions. In line four, Heaney wrote the floating rods and boughs. The imagery created here helps envision how one would walk around in a jail among all the other prisoners just wasting their life away. Heaney created this stanza to describe a real body that had been drowned for its crime (Fawbert, n.d.). This

Da Gama had anchored in the bay for eight days to clean their ships and took captive on of the natives, feeding him and dressing him well, he was returned to land and that helped da Gama gain entry with the other natives to their land. They are dressed in skins, and wear sheaths over their virile members. They are armed with poles of olive wood to which a horn, browned in the fire, is attached. Their numerous dogs resemble those of Portugal, and bark like them. Once very powerful, the empire s authority slowly decreased over centuries and by the Middle Ages the emperor was little more than a figurehead, allowing princes to govern smaller sections of the empire. Though the various ruling princes owed loyalty to the emperor, they were also granted a degree of independence and privileges. The emperor, an elected monarch, needed the allegiance of the princes and other aristocracy to support him, in turn giving them power or money. On October 31, 1517, when monk Martin Luther nailed The 95 Theses to the door of a cathedral in Wittenberg, Germany, he had no idea that he was sparking the Protestant Reformation (Greengrass 44 45). These 95 theses consisted of Luther s complaints and disagreements with and regarding the Catholic Church, particularly on the use of indulgences a remission of temporal penalties for sin sold to individuals seeking salvation (Greengrass 6, 44). The indulgences were claimed to lessen the time an individual s soul spent in purgatory, commissioned by the Pope of the time, Leo X, and in collaboration with various bishops and archbishops (Linder 22). When Luther nailed his theses to the door, they quickly spread, spurning uproar. First, the theses were sent to Archbishop Albrecht, the superior of an indulgence selling monk that parishioners of Luther had come into contact with. Then, the document (originally published in Latin) was translated to German and spread throughout the Holy Roman Empire. Luther verbalized many common complaints in his theses and became a sort of hero. The ability of the printing press enabled Luther s theses to widely circulate as he was thrust into public eye and began the path of Reformation (Linder 23 24). A large part of Luther s success came from the Reformation propaganda that spread through the printing press. Mostly woodcuts,
  • 37. Cost Containment And Quality Of Care Assignment 4 Introduction It is essential to acknowledge the fact that the costs of health care in the United States is expensive. Furthermore, many factors influence the inflation of health care costs. Consequently, there have been numerous failed attempts to control the costs of health care. As a result, some of the failed attempts to control the increasing costs of health care were lowering health care provider payments, decreasing health benefits, and increasing out of pocket costs for patients (Shannon, 2009). Overall, one definition of cost containment is to contain health care providers profits and income (Oberland, 2011). However, it seems that containment should also focus on the high medical service prices as well. The purpose of this paper is to reconcile cost containment and quality of care. Three Examples of Cost Containment Options The first example of a cost containment option is provider payment reform. Therefore, the provider payment reform consists of changing provider payments from a fee for service system to a value based payment system (Grinsburg, 2013). As a result, health care providers will be rewarded for increasing quality while reducing health care costs (Grinsburg, 2013). In addition, the new payment reform will reimburse health care providers for care coordination and patient education services that are not reimbursed under the current fee for service payment system (Ginsburg, 2013). Overall, value based health care services tends

We as a nation need to come together as one and realize the considerable experiences African Americans have been through. In the late 1700 s slaves were uprooted from their homes in West Africa, shackled and transported to the New World, where they were sold off. The conditions of the chambers where the African American slaves were held were deplorable, roomed with rats and given just enough food for survival. They endured physical and psychological trials from the European slave traders, who saw them as only a pretty penny. Many slaves did not make the full journey and died from smallpox. This modification contains the mutation, insertion, or deletion of genes. When there is an insertion of genes, they are most commonly from a different species, this is known as horizontal genetransfer. Another way genes can be transferred is in nature, when exogenous DNA(DNA originating outside an organism that has been introduced into the organism) gets through the organisms cell membrane. When biologists do this artificially, they can either attach the gene to a virus, insert the gene into the nucleus, or use an electric pulse. Transgenic organisms are important to science because they have uses in biological and medical research, production of pharmaceutical drugs, experimental medicine, and agriculture. In medical applications, in cases of xenotransplantation (an operation in which an organ or tissue is transferred from one animal to another of a different species), a transgenic pig could be able to give a donation of the heart to a human. Transgenic animals such as cows can produce more nutritious milk for human consumption which can help in diets or supplements. In agricultural applications, animals could improve quality that they give with meat and milk, gain disease resistance, and breeding for selective traits. Current research on GMO s has been done through loss of function, gain of function, tracking experiments, and expression
