Revised Essay
Crafting an essay on the subject of a "Revised Essay" presents a unique set of challenges that
demand a nuanced approach. Firstly, delving into the intricacies of revising one's own work
requires a certain level of self-awareness and objectivity. It involves critically assessing the initial
draft, identifying areas that need improvement, and understanding the reasons behind those
shortcomings.
Navigating through the process of revision can be mentally taxing. It involves grappling with
your own thoughts, ideas, and writing style. The difficulty lies in being able to distance oneself
from the original content and view it through a fresh lens. This requires a certain level of
detachment and a willingness to accept constructive criticism, even when it comes from within.
Furthermore, the challenge intensifies as you strive to enhance the overall coherence, clarity, and
flow of the essay. It's not merely about correcting grammatical errors; it's about refining the
structure and ensuring that each paragraph seamlessly transitions into the next. This demands a
keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining the integrity of the essay's central message.
In addition, the revising process often involves rewriting and rephrasing sections to convey the
intended message more effectively. This requires a deep understanding of the topic and a skillful
use of language to communicate ideas with precision and impact.
Beyond the internal struggle of self-revision, there's also the external pressure to meet academic
or professional standards. Adhering to specific guidelines, formats, and citation styles adds
another layer of complexity. Juggling these technical aspects while simultaneously refining the
content can be a daunting task, requiring a delicate balance between creativity and adherence to
established norms.
In conclusion, writing an essay on the theme of a "Revised Essay" is an arduous undertaking that
demands a blend of self-reflection, critical analysis, and technical proficiency. It is a process that
goes beyond mere correction, involving a transformative journey of improvement. As challenging
as it may be, the rewards lie in the refined and polished final product that emerges from the
crucible of revision.

Charles Darwin s The Hms Beagle And His Exploration...
Today was the day. Today was the day I would finally get all my answers on the
theory of evolution, from the master himself, or should I say father . As I opened
the door, a mysterious old figure stood with a tortoise by his side: it was Charles
Darwin. Quickly and eagerly he went into the dining room and eagerly cried,
Guys! I am very glad to see you all! I need to tell you all everything, everything that
I had found out about! Before my family had fully sat on their seats, he shared
fascinating stories about his adventures and voyages. He began explaining his tails
on the famous HMS Beagle and his exploration of the Galapagos Islands. On his
voyage on the Beagle he was instructed to chart stretches of coastlines of South
America, but as he explained that he wasn t any Picasso, his sketches ended up
poorly drawn. As we all know, Darwin has never been the type to enforce rules, and
plus charting coastlines is just the most boring job a person can do. As well as
charting, he shared his strange fascination on his observations of how the
characteristics of plants and animals suits only specific environments in South
America. He explained how plants and animals in similar geographic and climate
zones have a similar resemblance. With great enthusiasm, Charles addressed my half
brother and wife saying, Tom Bradey, 3 time MVP and 4 time super bowl winner, oh
and the beautiful Vanessa Hudgens Ramolia! You must see how my observations and
these fossils have similar
Explain Why It Is Not Safe For Teens Sail Alone
Have you ever seen somebody sail out onto the water? Do you want to do it
yourself, but by yourself? Well, this argument might make you think differently. It
is not safe for teens to sail alone for three major reasons. First, they could die.
Second, they could get lost. Third, they could become stranded. Read on to learn
more. The first reason is that teens could die. There are a lot of ways this could
happen, like running out of food and water, drowning, or a shark may eat them. In
the article Annapolis girl, 14, dies after boat capsizes during sailing camp, A teenage
girl dies when she got tangled in something. Since the adults are not there, the teens
would panic, and that would make the situation worse. Also, if a teen does die, he or
Loyalty In Barn Burning
Barn Burning, written by William Faulkner, shows the main character, Colonel
Sartoris Snopes (Sarty), struggling through major conflicts with along the theme of
loyalty against himself, his father and family, and the law. There are many possible
themes but the theme of loyalty stands out through the whole short story. Sartoris
Snopes had a major conflict with his father, Abner Snopes. Abner Snopes was an
outcast from the county they lived in and was an angry man that the majority of the
time took things too far. He eventually started breaking the law by burning and
ruining other people s belongings and properties. from the beginning, Sartoris did not
always agree with his father s actions, but he tried to stay loyal to him and his family

Abner Snopes pulled Sartoris towards him so he could gain Sartoris advice about
growing up, becoming a man, and staying loyal to his blood . Sitting with his
father, he asked him about his trial with the Justice, You were fixing to tell them.
You would have told them (803). Sartoris knew the truth about the trial and so did
everyone else, he was hoping his father would be honest and tell the truth too.
After he asked his father about being honest to the Justice, Abner hit him with the
flat of his hand on the side of his head. Abner started to give Sartoris advice by
telling him You have to learn to stick to your own blood or you ain t going to have
any blood to stick to (803). Sartoris his father was in the wrong with what he had
previously done but, stuck his father s advice and said no more about the trial and
his father s wrongdoings but instead tired staying loyal to his own blood.
As they reached the house of the major, his servant told Abner to wipe his feet off
before entering. Abner once again did not listen, instead he wiped his feet all over
the rug and the outside of the house then left. Sartoris Now realizes his father is not
going to change his ways of doing wrong so, Sartoris decides once again to say
nothing to show that he is loyal to his father and blood but knows his father is not
doing the right thing.
How Mitochondria And Chloroplasts Work Together
Both mitochondria and chloroplasts are involved in energy transformation, with the
former in cellular respiration and the later in photosynthesis. Both organelles have
membranes that separate their interiors into compartments. They both have inner
membranes (cristae in mitochondria, thylakoid membrane in chloroplast) that have
large surface areas with embedded enzymes that carry out their main functions.
Mitochondria are the sites of cellular respiration, the metabolic processes that
generate ATP by extracting energy from sugars, fats, and other fuels with the help of
oxygen.
Both contain a small amount of DNA and are semiautonomous. They will grow and
reproduce within the cell. It is believed that mitochondria and plastids were ... Show

Chloroplasts and mitochondria are structurally different from the vesicles derived in
the endoplasmic reticulum, which are bounded by a single membrane.
The cytoskeleton is a network of fibers extending throughout the cytoplasm. It play a
major role in organizing the structure and activities of the cell. It gives mechanical
support to the cell and maintains its shape, which is especially important in animal
cells, which lack cell walls. Several types of motility involve the cytoskeleton as well.
It is also involved in regulating biochemical activities in the cell in response to
mechanical stimulation.
Both of the systems involve long filaments that are moved in relation to each other by
motor proteins that grip, release, and grip again adjacent polymers.
Dynein arms, powered by ATP, move neighboring doublets of microtubules relative
to one another. Because they are anchored within the organelle and with respect to
each other, the doublets bend instead of sliding past each other. Flagella have a
snake like motion, while flagella have a back and forth
The Constitution Of A Great Impact On Bangladeshi

The Sixties And The End Of Collapsing
In terms of the amount of political upheaval that took place, the 1960s is probably the
most fascinating decade post World War II to study historically. To understand how
the country was almost at the brink of collapsing, one must survey one of the
prominent political actors during the decade: the student movement. According to
William H. Chafe in The Unfinished Journey, the student movement emerged from
the feeling that President John F. Kennedys insistent call for the young to fulfill
America s unfulfilled promises was a mandate for action. Yet, the conclusions made
about the student movement in the 1960s are still contested today. David
Steigerwald, author of The Sixties and the End to Modern America scrutinizes the
student... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While Chafe s use of the Port Huron Statement is more so a summary of the attitudes
of the student movement, Steigerwald offers a critique of the student movement s
ambitions. Steigerwald does not deny that the Port Huron Statement was bold, stating
that its critiques of U.S. Cold Warforeign policy were both realistic and prescient and
that the ideals presented in the statement were meant as an antidote to the ills of
bureaucratized society. Personal fulfillment was to be realized through civic
participation . However, Steigerwald argues that the deepest flaw of the student
movement was that it could encourage mere rebelliousness masquerading as
radicalism, a phony radicalism that saw politics as a vehicle for exhibitionism and
self assertion rather than change . Steigerwald s critique questions whether the
student movement actually aimed to challenge the apparent status quo of the
American political landscape. Steigerwald s critique is in accordance with the larger
historical critique of the counterculture movement of the 1960s that the movement
did not make the impact that it intended to make. Chafe joins with Steigerwald on the

There are many other analytical methods exist for solving nonlinear differential
equations, for example: Adomin s decomposition method, Homotopy perturbation
method (HPM), Liapunov s artificial method etc. But HAM is more general in
comparison of all of these methods. In this thesis, author presents a difference
between HPM and HAM, but he has not compared the results of any problem
obtained by HAM and HPM. He presents only a theoretical description of
comparison of methods. In HAM, we have to choose an initial guess, a linear
operator and a convergence control parameter h. According to Liao, we can choose
these parameters freely. This thesis provides a way to select an appropriate linear
operator and value of convergence parameter. Non uniqueness of linear operator has
also mentioned, which shows the independency of choosing a linear operator. Author
has applied HAM to solve a system of nonlinear partial and ordinary differential
equations, which shows a significant application of HAM. But he has not solved any
system of more than two equations; this is a drawback of this thesis. In chapter 3,
some theorems are given to show the existence of solution. In fluid flow problems,
many differential equations have multiple solutions, but in this thesis this case has not
Parental Involvement in their Child s Education Essays

According to a story printed in The New York Times written by John Couwels, a
CNN reporter, The parents grades of satisfactory, unsatisfactory or
needs improvement would be added to their children s report card (2011, p. 1).
The grades would be based on a simple grading scale that covers three basic
guidelines: A child should be at school on time, prepared to learn after a good night s
sleep, and have eaten a meal. A child should have the homework done and prepared
for examinations. There should be regular communication between the parent and
teacher (Couwels, 2011, p. 1). The guidelines are very clear and straightforward.
They are not complex, they are things parents should already be doing, yet the bill
is being met with fierce opposition. In the CNN article, Florida lawmaker wants
teachers to grade parents, Kindergarten teacher Theresa Hill states: We grade our
children based on their performance. Why should the parents be any different
(Couwels, 2011, p. 1)? Why is it that a law to improve children s education being met
with so much resistance from parents? After all this law is only trying to help
children, not inconvenience parents. The blame is constantly being placed on the
teacher and school. While teachers and schools are a major key to a child s
education, there are more components. In an article printed in The New York Times,
Thomas Friedman writes:

Religious Influence In William Bradford s Plymouth
Plantation
William Bradford, the author of the Plymouth Plantation, was a huge leader in the
Puritan period. A Puritan of descent and learning, Bradford played a leading role in
in the Separatist movement and was elected Governor of Plymouth Colony thirty one
times. Praised as a commanding work of literary art, Plymouth Plantation remains
one of the founding works of American Literature. As for William Bradford s writing
style, he wrote in a straightforward and plain style, which is a reflection of the way
Puritans were encouraged to live their lives. Simple and humble, avoiding pride by
avoiding literary words and phrases. Puritans, such as William Bradford, was the
name given in the 16th century to the more serious Protestants within the Church of
England who thought the English Reformation had not gone far enough in reforming
the doctrines and structure of the church. They wanted to purify their national church
by taking out every piece of Catholic influence. William Bradford wanted to convert

I would like to present the 20th Century Genius Award to Dr. Maya Angelou. She
is a remarkable Renaissance woman who is hailed as one of the great voices of
contemporary literature. As a poet, educator, historian, best selling author, actress,
playwright, civil rights activist, producer and director, she continues to travel the
world, spreading her legendary wisdom. Within the rhythm of her poetry and
elegance of her prose lies Angelou s unique power to help readers of every
orientation span the lines of race and Angelou captivates audiences through the vigor
and sheer beauty of her words and lyrics. (Dr. Maya Angelou, The Official Website,

to compose and deliver a poem for the inauguration of President Bill Clinton in
1993. Maya Angelou is a woman that has done so much in her life time I would
not know where to begin. There is always one poem that she published that will
stick in my heart forever. The poem Still I Rise is a phenomenal poem that I think
everyone of every race should have the pleasure of being a part of. Still I Rise You

According to National Safety Council, Accident is an occurrence in sequence of
events that produces unintended injury, death or property damages. As in this era,
road accident can be known as common tragedies that keep increasing year to year.
Based on references, it is shows the review of the factor and effect of road accidents

Sleep and fatigue
Most accidents are said to be attributed by the fault of the driver. Fatigue or
exhausted drivers have long been acknowledged to represent a potential traffic
safety risk. Brown (1994) has presented a comprehensive review and discussion of
the research of literature on the nature of fatigue and its effects on driver behaviour
and traffic accidents, on the basis of which he concluded that fatigue is
insufficiently recognised and reported as a cause of road accidents . A most major
form of withdrawal of attention is obviously the closing of eyes due to sleepiness.
Basically, falling asleep while driving can be speculated on demographical
background information about the driver such as gender, age and driving
experience. As to gender, males have a significantly higher proportion of sleep
related accidents than females. The effect of age was captured by the variable
years with driver s licence, which showed a stronger relationship with sleep
involvement. There may also be differences in lifestyle; sleep habits, work
schedule, etc. While many of those who fall asleep are lucky to escape accidents,
there are still thousands who are not as fortunate. It is usually just a matter of time
before a driver who falls asleep at the wheel ends up causing an
Modern Communication And Flexible Manufacturing
Methods
a.Product innovation
Title: Decentralised manufacturing
Location on the Innovation Matrix: Context, Product
Decentralised manufacturing makes it possible for a large international firm like
Ikea to reduce transport miles (and the associated carbon, NOx, SO2 and other
emissions) and reduces the commercial risks of relying on a sole producer. It
supports local small and medium size enterprises, provides local employment and can
take advantage of locally sourced materials.
The main impact of this innovation is to reduce transport costs. However a secondary
benefit is better interaction with customers, especially for products with a short life
cycle (Kianian et al. 2013).
Modern communication and flexible manufacturing methods (e.g. Computer
Numerical Control (CNC), 3 D printing, Additive Manufacturing) are all innovations
that allow designs from a centralised source to be manufactured in smaller quantities
close to where they will be sold. These techniques can also afford a firm commercial
advantage the through the personalised production of products (Mourtzis Doukas
2012) should they wish to adopt this as part of their business model.

Examples Of Integrity In Goodnight And Goodluck
After watching the movie Goodnight and Goodluck directed by George Clooney I
think the most important aspect for present day communicators to carry into their
work is integrity. I think integrity is important because it is a value that shows your
character and personality. During the movie Murrow developed his character by
consistently being honest with others and himself. Edward Murrow shows integrity
quite often. For example, when McCathy starts making false accusations, Murrow
stands up in front of the camera and defends himself by stating facts to prove his
innocence. McCarthy claimed that Murrow had ties to communism saying that he
was on the soviet pay role in 1932 and that he is a card carrying member for the

Sara Miles On Social Justice
The term social justice can mean a variety of things depending on who you are

meaning society and justice meaning fairness two words that convey the overall
meaning of social justice. Social justice, however, means more than just society and
fairness. Through the What is Social Justice? A Collection of Definitions compiled by
Derrick Kikuchi, individuals varying from journalists to religious leaders chimed in
on their personal definitions of social justice. Two of the definitions resonated most
closely to my personal definition that being from Sara Miles, a Journalist and

Miles mentions in her definition that it is God s work in the world to have
everyone fed and to not shy away and be afraid of the matter. Miles explains that
her previous thoughts on social justice meant changing the policies that only regard
hunger not actual hunger. The world comprises of millions of people and though
changing policies for the people can be helpful, nothing can compare to physically
helping individuals in real life. I agree with Miles that we must do more than just
change how the government works. Although her definition is short, the few
sentences that she explains carry the weight of God s will for His people. Even if
people do not follow an organized religion, kindness and the act of volunteering and
helping the people of this world are universal and not restricted to religion

Genre Films Predictability and Formulaicity
This essay shall discuss whether Genre films are predictable and formulaic , looking
at the Western genre, and using the example films of, The Searchers and Unforgiven .
Genre is a fundamental means by which we communicate especially in storytelling. If
looking at genre in terms of Thomas Shatz, he puts forward the theory of similarity

two genres; the genre of order and the genre of integration. In this case the Western

Within each of the films, the revenge narratives are both set around the female, as
in The searchers , Ethan and Martin aim to save the young girl Debbie, and in
Unforgiven , Will, Ned and the Schofield Kid aim to get revenge for the female
prostitutes, this therefore shows how genre could be seen to predictable and
formulaic as these two western films show how they both follow similar structures
and narratives.
The theorists Propp and Todorov have focused on the similarity in narrative across
different genres. They suggest that genres that are different from one another in
terms of visual, verbal and musical signifiers operate according to the same
narrative structures. Propp puts forward the story functions of hero, villain and
donor etc, and Todorov puts forward the equilibrium narrative theory. These two
theorists therefore show, how genre could be seen to be predictable and formulaic,
as both of their theories can be applies to The Searchers and Unforgiven , and they
also believe they can be applied to many other genres and films.
The characters within The Searchers fit into Propps story function as it is shown that,
Ethan is the main hero within the film, Martin is the main helper throughout the film
and Debbie is seen as the princess who needs to be saved. The same story function can

Supervision and Management
INTRODUCTION In earlier days, the supervisor was the person in charge of a
group of towrope pullers or ditch diggers. That person was literally the fore man,
since he was up forward of the work crew. His authority consisted mainly of
chanting the one, two, three, up that set the pace for the rest of the workers. In
Germany, the supervisor is still called a vorarbeiter ( fore worker ); in England, the
term charge hand is used. Both terms suggest the lead person origin. The term
supervisor has its roots in Latin, where it means looks over. It was originally
applied to the master of a group of artisans. Today, the supervisor s job combines
some of the talents of the foreman (or leader) and those of the master (skilled... Show

The Porsche Automotive Group firm has been considered to be a benchmark of
precision within the market for decades. According to Henderson Reavis (2009), By
2007, Porsche had become the world s most financially profitable automaker on an

considering that Porscheproduces over 100,000 vehicles annually. From Porsche s

According to Henderson Reavis (2009), Per unit produced, Porsche records an
average of $91,974, and by 2007 their annual income capped at $9.4 billion on
revenue of $10 billion. With this growth it must be mentioned that the firm has
experience some down points. For example, in the mid 1990s due to poor production
processes and a recession in the United, which seriously affect sales nearly pushed
Porsche Automotive Group into bankruptcy. In the end this led to a time when the
firm was vulnerable to takeover. Another such time would be in 2008 when the firm s
business integrity would come into question due to their actions surrounding the
failed takeover of their former sub division VW.
Porsche Automotive primarily specialized in luxury and sport models. The first

31266 Introduction to Information Systems
Autumn 2015
Assignment I
1.Create TWO bad behaviour of Case and Disease Management systems scenarios
and explain each in detail?
The Encyclopaedia of Business, 2nd Edition on the Reference for Business website
describes a role of a management information system as a computer system that
provides management and other personnel within an organisation with up to date
information (Management Information Systems, para 4). A bad behaviour scenario is
when this system does not meet the intended requirements and leaves the business
less efficient and the customers dissatisfied.
First scenario: A patient suffers from heart disease. Their medical consultation history
such as appointments and follow up care is taken care of by the case management
system and the progress of their heart disease in managed by the disease management
system. The patient moves houses and thus has a change in address, however this
change, due to poor management, has only been recorded in the disease management
system and thus the old address is still active in the case management system.
Confidential health reports are sent to the wrong address due to the incorrect
information in the case management system, unknown to the hospital. This
compromises the patient s medical privacy and also inconveniences them as they are
not receiving their own personal health reports by mail. Second scenario: A

Allstar Brands Allround product is a 4 hour multi symptom, over the counter,
liquid medicine used to treat colds, coughs, and allergies. Allround is typically
used at night because of the strength of the medication and because the alcohol and

our strategy was two fold; grow the top and grow the bottom of the company. Our
goal was to make the company strong and stable to ensure Allstar remains one of
the top brands of medicine for years to come. Our strategy to grow the bottom was to
focus on keeping our gross profit marginstable by minimizing operating cost,

Iconic Australian Images.
Sydney Nolan and Russell Drysdale by Julie Perri. CSU, ART215.
Australia s national and cultural icons range from natural landmarks to man made
wonders. They are instantly recognisable, have special significance and are uniquely
Australian. (1) Two Australian artist s that created cultural iconic images through
their artworks, were Sydney Nolan and Russell Drysdale. During the 1940s cultural,
social changes and the Second World War influenced them to depict issues in their
works. Both artists were affected by the war, had an interest in the bush, its people
and the harsh drought at the time. This encouraged them to reflect on national themes

Together with Sidney Nolan, Russell Drysdale created iconic images of the
Australian outback. Prior to Drysdale, landscape painting had concerned itself
with the pretty country and not ventured far from the coast. (11) He chose to
portray the difficult life on the land, the ugly side of hardship and the empty vast
interior so few had previously seen.(12) Drysdale s career changed when in
hospital his drawings and talent was noticed. This led him to study at Bell art

Comparing The Scarlet Letter, Flowers, And The Comet
For centuries, humans have related nature to their lives in any way, shape, or form as
a way of coping with or understanding their current situations. No matter how intricate
or complex human nature is, we, as humans, still use nature and the colors presented
in nature to explain events or fears. Within the novelThe Scarlet Letter, flowers, the
land on which the cabin lies, clothing and their colors, the woods, and the comet are
used to further explain situations in which characters find themselves in. Flowers
within the town and the homes of the town reveal the truth behind certain places and
people. The land of the cabin is paralleled to Hester herself and the world in which
she finds herself. The colors of their dresses and... Show more content on

The land on which Hester s cabin lies is also a direct parallel to Hester and her life.
The test states, It had been built by an earlier settler, and abandoned, because the
soil about it was too sterile for cultivation, (Hawthorne 121). This quotation proves
that the land was deemed infertile and no one believed that anything could be
grown. However, Hester manages to grow a few small plants. Even from a few
plants, she still managed to grow something from what was given to her. This
same idea is repeated throughout her life. After, having Pearl, she was an outcast,
yet she still was able to make herself into a well known talented embroideress. She
was also still able to support herself and Pearl even though she was given nothing
but shame. This proves that Hester is not what the Puritanical society sees her as.
She is more than they think she is because, just as the infertile land, she was able to
make something from nothing. Hester and Pearl s clothing and color of the clothing
also reveals their true position in society. Their strict society wears quite basic
clothing which has only begun to be adorned with Hester s embroidery. Right from
the beginning, Hester shows that she is defiant, no matter the circumstances which
she is under. When she emerges from the jail, the red letter immediately proves that
she does not follow societal norms. The novel states, On the breast of her gown, in
Okonkwo Respect
A man is respected on the tittle he has as well as the wealth he gains. This causes
the men in the Igbo society to be challenged to work hard in order to get the tittle
and money they deserve. Okonkwo was one of these men that were challenged to
prove his abilities to work hard, gain a title and be a respected man in his society.
Okonkwo is a hardworking man that does not fear working for long times, but
instead he enjoys it. In order for Okonkwo to build his name he asked a well
known man to give him yams and to trust him with them: I have come to you for

This proves that Okonkwo is a respected and a trusted man among his people.
Being an important person in the Igbo society requires the person to be rich and
have a title; which will challenge the men to work hard, and not to give up because
without money there will be no tittle, and without a tittle they will not be as
respected, which will lead them to get insulted by being called a woman. This kind
of challenges will cause the men to do anything in order for the title, and to get
money, which is not healthy for the society. This quotation represents the hard
work theme, because Okonkwo is described as a hardworking man that is not
afraid of work. A person with wealth and title in the Igbo society is considered as a
high class citizen, where a man with no wealth and title belongs to lower class
citizens and is not as respected among his people (Afigbo). This fact shows that
men in the Igbo society are challenged to prove their abilities in making a name and
being a high class people, because they have to work in order to get the title. Men
are challenged to work hard, and make a name in this society, which will cause them
to do anything in order to be respected, and considered as a high class citizen, which
will result in an unhealthy and a misshaped

Three Facts About The Human Brain
After reading both of the articles on the human brain, I have learned a lot of things
that I never knew of. But the three facts that I learned about the brain that I didn t
know before was on the national geographic site, the article brain stated that the brain
s nerve cells are known as neutrons, which make up the organ s so called gray matter
(National Geographic, n.d.). That the cerebellum which is the second largest part of
the brainis responsible for coordinating muscle movement and controlling our
balance, and the cerebellum transmits information to the spinal cord and other parts
of the brain (National Geographic, n.d.). Also on The Human Brainarticle the limbic
system regulates body temperature, blood pressure, blood sugar level, and other
housekeeping activities. Also, the limbic system exists only in mammals (The human
brain, 2001).... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I didn t know much about the brain actually until I read the two article that was
provided. But it is helpful because it s good to know which part of the brain causes
different problems. For example, in the Brain article it states that the hypothalamus
controls hormone and the hormones govern growth and instinctual behavior such as
eating, drinking, anger and reproduction (National Geographic, n.d.). Also, it s good
to know what each part of the brain is and what it does like the cerebrum is the largest
part of the brain and it has two halves that divides into four region or lobes in each
half. The frontal lobes are involved with speech, thought, learning, emotion, and
movement. The parietal lobes, which process sensory information like touch,
temperature and pain. The occipital lobes deal with the vision and the temporal
lobes are involved with hearing and memory (National Geographic, n.d.). Each of
these lobes could be the effect of memory loss or any kind of brain

In 2014, Viacom profit margin was 30%, highest in 5 years, whereas the peer group
average was 25%. This higher value of profit margin can be attributed to the increase
in the revenue generated from their media network segment, mainly from advertising
and affiliate revenues. There was a significant 20% increase from international
advertising due to acquisition of Channel 5 Broadcasting Limited (UK), however, the
other revenue was driven by news channels, MTV Italy, and improvement in
European markets. Moreover, its affiliate revenue was increased remarkably by $415

In contrast to income, Viacom had reduced their overall expenses by $257 million,
however, they had incurred more expenses for their media network component.

it offers a reasonable and truthful depiction of Australia given the films time period.

that would be the average day for a male, working hard and going to a pub for a

have ranging personalities such as Peeto who likes to knit and listen yodelling,
compared to Jocko who was in a car accident leading to his families death making
him depressed and wanting to die as he had nothing to live for. A reasonable person
would realise that the characters don t only have this stereotypical larrikin side but
maintain their own personalities as independent citizens. This is a prime reason why
the film must be included into the festival as it shows that Australians do have their
own personalities and they aren t just a bunch of people following stereotypical
nonsense. To come to conclusion, the film known as Red Dog must be included into
the 2016 film festival, it can be proven beyond reasonable doubt that it provided a fair

representations of the landscape and lastly a just illustration of the Aussie male,

Distal Fracture And The Fracture
Distal Radius Fractures
Introduction
A distal radial fracture is also commonly known as a Colles fracture. This is a
fracture of the distal metaphysis of the radius, which often has dorsal displacement
leading to deformity commonly referred to as a dinner folk deformity. It is caused
due to a fall on the outstretched hand (FOOSH). This type of fracture was first
described by an Irish surgeon, Abraham Colles in 1814 (Radiopaedia, 2014).
Epidemiology
Colles fracture becomes more recurrent with increasing age and occurs more in
women with osteoporosis. This is because osteoporosis is a progressive disease which
in time drastically reduces bone density and micro architectural deterioration of bone
tissue ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The periosteal sleeve is also happens to be much thicker in children than in adults and
acts as a restraint to displacement. The thick periosteal sleeve is important for
pediatric skeletal remodeling.
There is a strong correlation between osteoporosis and a Colles fracture. When a
male patient is diagnosed with a distal radial fracture, it is imperative that correct
tests should be done to eliminate osteoporosis as the patient s risk of a hip fracture
will also increase drastically as demonstrated in many studies (Patient, 2014).
Classification
The radius is a long bone; this means that the bone is longer in length than it is
wide; which aids in mechanical movement of the skeleton. Most skeletal muscle
attaches to bone, therefore when muscles contract and relax, which allows flexion
and extension in the sagital plane. Flexion decreases the angle at the moving joint.
Extension increases the angle at the moving joint. Synovial joints such as the elbow
hinge joint are able to efficiently carry out these motions. The wrist is a classic
example of a condyloid joint, which means it can move on two axes, side to side and
back and forth so on the sagittal and frontal plane.
A Colle s fracture can be extra articular; this is a fracture which does not involve the
joint space therefore it is
Autoimmune Disorders
The effects of autoimmune disorders can be devastating to the human body. The most
common types of autoimmune disorders often impair the joints, skin, and multiple
organs. All of the different varieties of autoimmune disorders affect more than a
million people in the United States, while some of the rarer varieties only affecting
roughly every thirty people out of ten thousand(Lohr, John Thomas). If people know
the effects of having an autoimmune disease they might be able to catch a serious

People often develop uncomfortable and itchy rashes everywhere on the body. The
most common place for the rash to develop is on the face, it forms what is commonly
known as the butterfly rash . The rash forms on the nose and cheeks of the person that
is being affected ( Autoimmune Disease ). In some types of autoimmune disorders
very small red dots develop on the skin accompanied by bruises that show up without
a reason. Another symptom that affects the skin is when the skin takes on a tight,
shiny appearance (Franz and Davidson). The symptoms that affect the skin vary on a
personal basis, but they general symptoms are consistent. The symptoms that affect
the skin are much harder to treat than the inflammation of the joints because it
usually takes immunosuppressive drugs; however, these are dangerous because
they make the immune system more susceptible to get more serious illnesses; they
are also likely to get anemia because the immunosuppressive drugs also control the
non immune cells ( Autoimmunity and autoimmune disorders. ). Other symptoms
that might occur are the rash that might appear on the upper body or even on the

life in a way that can cause even more problems. If a person notices a rash on any
part of their body they should go to the doctor to try and identify what it is so that
they can save themselves a lot of trouble and unnecessary

When a clear act of injustice has occurred I believe it is not wrong for a certain
individual to be disobedient and not follow the law. In fact I way go to the extent
that if you feel a law brings injustice you must not agree with it and help to disrupt
such a law. Life happens and you may never know maybe next law could put you in
a position where you can become a victim. Even though civil disobedience is illegal,
this action is more of a moral situation rather than doing it for selfish reasons. There
a quite a few prime examples of unjust laws that were enforced. There were some
people that felt that the laws were unjust and morally wrong, so they committed a
civil disobedience, but their actions later proved to be right and honored. In the
beginning of Civil Disobedience Thoreau said these words, That government is
best which governs the least (305) he knew that the government has power to set
laws and sometimes people had no say in such laws. The example of disobeying an
unjust law goes back into history to the Holocaust. When Nazi Germany was still
in power, the people regular citizens were by law required to give up the

that obeyed the law and some that decided that this law was unjust and refused to

Chronicles Of A Death Foretold
My understanding of the culture in Chronicles of a Death Foretold has deepened
through the Interactive Oral in which my classmates and I had in class. Most of the
conversation dealt with Latin American culture and how honors, religion, and morals
in which Hispanics grow up in are distinct compared to other foreign countries. We
debated whether or not if other religions would have had a unlike perspective upon
the actions of the Vicario brothers or the actions in which Angela Vicario made upon
losing her purity. In addition, we questioned the culture; what if the novel would have
taken place in a different country with the complete opposite culture? What would be
different? We approached these questions by not only depicting the country in which
The Integral Role of Religion Illustrated in Gabriel...
Religion plays an integral role in The Chronicle of a Death Foretold by Gabriel
Garcia. It is generally considered by most readers that the initial chapters don t
consist of the religious and spiritual makeup of the townspeople but in fact, religion
is subliminally present even earlier, within the title of the novel itself. The word
Death is integrally and inextricably linked with religiousmatter. After all, birth and
the inevitably of death are the two most important and debatable points in religion.
Religion is meant to be a solid force, helping society to bond better and progress in a
civilized manner. For the same purpose, religion, with its laws and codes of conduct,
monitors peoples way of life to ensure that humanity remains ... Show more content

First, Marquez underlines, Both were exhausted from the barbarous work of
death... (49). Marquez exemplifies the way in which some aspects of religion are
ignored and some have great emphasis put on them. When Roman finds out that his
new bride is not a virgin, he returns her. She is beaten savagely, and her brothers are
called from the brothel to come defend the family s honor. The hypocrisy of family
is revealed as they consider honor to be a part of the religion and instead of
religiously and peacefully solve the manner, the brothers murder Santiago Nasar. The
family believes that upholding the honor is righteous, and in doing so the sin of
murdering Nasar is downplayed. Furthermore, when the brothers put down their
knives in front of the priest, instead of giving them advice or condemning them, the
priest recalled the surrender as an act of dignity (49). This is in total conflict with
Catholicism as it is amongst the Ten Commandments that Thou shall not kill and thus
it illustrates that even the priest of the town has lost the knowledge of the true
religion. Marquez cements the corruption of religion as even father Amador protected
the brothers and not only him but the lawyer stood by the thesis of homicide in
legitimate defense of honor, which was upheld by the court in good faith (48).
Marquez continues to demonstrate that the society was lenient on the brothers due to
tradition and thus it illustrates that religion was only a minor
My Love Of Writing
Writing has always played a huge role in my life. I ve been reading writing for as
long as I can remember as I have an immense love of reading. This love would grow
into a love for writing as well; I still stumble upon journals and writings from my
five year old self about the happenings in my kindergarten class. As time would go
on I would discover academic writing, and how to convey my thoughts on what was
the topic of student that particular year or semester in my schooling. Later, writing
would become a constant for me, and a comfort; I was known to my friends as
always having a journal, and a pen on my person. I learned to write down my
feelings and my thoughts, song lyrics that were in my head, reflections for the day. I
learned how... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Moreover, it s crucial that I understand and make use of the particular conventions
of each of these genres of writing. In my quest to reach those goals and be a more
successful writer, I know I need to practice time management, honing my writing
skills, collaboration; in terms of the review and revision process, as well as focusing
on the best strategies to properly convey the desired affect on the work s audience.
I hope to gain experience from this writing course, and from my fellow classmates.
I hope to gain insight into how other people write and go about their writing
process. I hope to learn from the feedback I receive from my instructors and peers
on my writing submissions. I wish to come out of this course a better writer all
around, and in addition to form good habits that will carry me far beyond the scope
of this course. Ideally, I hope to complete all of the outcomes listed in the WPA
Outcomes Document. I have high expectations of myself. I plan to learn from my
mistakes, and take the lessons from each assignment forward into how I approach
the follow assignment. I expect to learn and keep better time management skills,
and I expect myself to grasp all that a FYC has to teach me and to incorporate it in a
way I failed to do before. From
Neutrality In My Brother Sam Is Dead
The American Revolution was a war of principles fought by Loyalists and Patriots.
However, Loyalists believed in neutrality, peace, and no brutality or treason.
Therefore, Patriots believed in freedom of religion, the right to bear arms, and the
right to break away from the British government. In the novel My Brother Sam is
Dead created by James Lincoln Collier and Christopher Collier, a family disputes
over which side is right. James and Christopher Collier use the ironies of Life,
Jerry, and Sam s death to induce Tim s decision of neutrality. Firstly, Life s death
contributes to Tim s reasons to be neutral. For an instance, Tim finds out that father
was taken by cowboys on the way back from Verplanks Point. In June of that year,
1777, we found out that father was dead. ...it wasn t a Rebel prison, ship it was a
British one (164). Tim expects father would die because the cowboys had already
attacked him for cattle and he was a Loyalist. Tim discovers that loyalty is valued
in the British side. He thinks that why should he be loyal to a side that s dishonest.
Tim chooses neutrality because the Loyalists are deceptive, brutal, and aren t true to
their word. Since Tim does not want to be on a side with a bunch of hypocrites, he
becomes neutral.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For an example, Sam is a scapegoat and is publicly executed for stealing his own
cattle. Which is a very stupid reason to be executed. He went on jerking with
flames on his chest until another soldier shot him again, then he stopped jerking
(208). Tim expects that Sam will die, but in a glorious heroic manner after he single
handedly vanquished the British army. Tim however does not expect Sam to die as
a cattle thief and realizes the unjust and brutal ways of the war. Tim becomes neutral
because Tim does not want to support a side that killed his brother for no valid
Explain The Stages Of A Criminal Trial
Criminal trials have stages which include approximately thirteen stages. The stages
are as follows; 1). The defendant goes to trial. 2). Discovery proceedings. 3).
Motions filed 4). Trial begins. 5). Opening statements. 6). Prosecutor s case. 7).
Presentation of evidence. 8). Defendant s case. 9). Prosecutor s rebuttal case. 10).
Closing arguments. 11). Juryinstructions. 12). Deliberations. 13). Verdict. These
stages do not occur in every trialalthough they are listed.
Lets define the stages for clarity and knowledge. The defendant goes to the court
room to stand trial after jury selection and all preliminary proceedings are completed.
The proceedings are requested to identify the prosecutor s evidence to the courts and
motions are filed and then the trial begins. The opening statements by the prosecutor
are simply outlining the case for the jury and the court. The defense team is not
required to make an opening statement in most cases. The prosecutor proceeds to
submit evidence and proceed with the questioning of witnesses and as they proceed,
they are required to present without a reasonable doubt, all components of the crime.

In most cases the defense would motion for a dismissal and wait for the judge to rule.
But if they choose to proceed with the trial, they start requesting witnesses to
question and make their case to the jury and the court. Then the rebuttal period is
next, where the prosecutor and the defense are cross examining witnesses, trying to
prove each other s proof of evidence or lack of evidence and maybe reexamine some
witnesses for clarity. Then the defense will summarize their case and then the
prosecutor will have the final summary of their case and then the judge starts

Taking a Look at the Turitea Aviation Company
SWOT analysis of Turitea Aviation
Strengths
Johnny Johnson
From the beginning, the company has had a strong reputation for being an excellent
Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul organisation. Johnny Johnson who is credited to
being an extremely efficient worker, and has the ability to thoroughly plan his next
move is still an employee at Turitea Aviation. He has twice served on the board and
is a valuable employee to the company. Johnson can be considered a strength to the
company for the following reasons;
He can be directly linked to the early success of the company. This indicates that he
is a competent employee who may have the ability in aiding the new CEO to
bringing Turitea Aviation back to its former glory.
He has been noted to have a consultative management style . In a company that has
just been through the stress associated with a resignation of an undesirable leader,
Johnsons management will be extremely beneficial for repairing and adopting a
new company culture. Employees will be looking for someone to lead/someone to
follow. Johnson, a senior employee, encourages staff to approach him for
information and advice. This will make staff fell as though he is one of the team not
an individual that is above everyone else as Edgar may have been perceived.
Multiple maintenance bases
Under the control of Edgar Kain, many maintenance bases where created in both New
Zealand and Australian cities. Aircraft are always going to need servicing and with

Window Treatments Essay
The window treatment business is a multi million dollar industry that dates back to
the 17th century around the time of the Industrial Revolution. Even during economic
down times consumers frequently replaced window treatments rather than redoing an
entire room. There are over 3500 establishments that sell window coverings. Window
treatments can be very important purchase considering all the benefits they have to
offer. A homeowner will have to consider what their needs are for window treatments
and if ready made or custom made treatments will meet their needs. A homeowner
will have the option to purchase either ready made or custom made treatments and
each situation will differ but the homeowner will find benefits and one will be... Show

Ready made window treatments are mass produced, prefabricated treatments that
can be easily found at most major retailers, discount stores, and a large number of
catalog and online stores. This makes them easily accessible and convenient
allowing them to be brought home and hung the same day for instant gratification.
Custom made treatments are a little more involved than driving to a store and
taking the window treatments home. The homeowner will have to decide if they
are going to hire a professional designer or recruit the help from an associate at a
retail store that specialize in custom made treatments. The whole process can take
months with more decisions to be made and time to make them. Another thing a
homeowner will have to consider is the size and shape of a window. Ready made
draperies will be available in a limited number of lengths the most common being
eighty four and ninety six inches long which would mean that these would not
work well for taller windows where the draperies would not be long enough to
touch the floor. Most ready made panels are offered in only one width which is
usually only sufficient to close over a thirty six inch wide window or smaller or
would be fine if they were meant to be stationary. If a wider width is desired, multiple
panels that are not sewn together would have to be purchased. When pursing the
custom avenue one would find out that custom window
Educating The Youth In The Kite Runner
Why is it that you go to school as a child while you are young, rather than as a more
mature adult? Education is started at the age of three in most places because children
are the future. The next generation. That is why educating the youth is the most
important task in achieving social injustice.
Educating the youth can be achieved in many different ways, one of them being
through the teachers in classrooms. In The Kite Runner, by Khaled Hosseini, you
see Assef bullying Hassan about how he is a Hazara. Later Assef goes on to use
the analogy of the Pashtuns being the Nazis, and says, Remember that if they had
let Hitler finish what he had started, the world would be a better place (40). By
saying, The world would be a better place it ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

One day in school Scout was learning about Hitler and how he was such a bad
person. Their teacher explained that he had done all these bad things. Later, Scout
overhears her teacher at the courthouse speaking negatively about blacks. Scout
being curious says to jem, Jem, how can you hate Hitler so bad an then turn around
and be ugly about folks right at home (283). Throughout the court case Scout
matures due to Atticus teachings and realizes the social injustice that occurs every
day to the blacks in their own town. Scout is the only student that we saw realize
this, and it is because of Atticus. We see this when Scout says, Ugly about folks
right at home . When Scout says, Turn around it is Harper Lee explaining to us how
the townspeople are two faced. However, not Atticus. He sticks by his morals the
whole time. He took the Tom Robinson case, to teach his kids that there are social
injustices, and they need to be fixed.
In conclusion, the Education of children is the most vital way in gaining social justice
and equality. Education however, can be taught in many different ways including
school, parents, and friends. When children are taught about the injustices in society,
they come to an understanding that things need to be done and changes need to be

Staying Focused on Climbing The Stawamus Chief is definitely an intimidating
climb, but don t let that get to your head. Just focus on the climb and what you
need to do to succeed. For example, sticking to your route should help keep you on
the right track. However, if you run into a dangerous situation (such as a detached
anchor), stay calm, find a safe place to get off the rock, and rethink the situation.
Remember: staying focused on climbing (rather than not falling) will help keep
your mind calm and focused during a difficult process. And if you get tired during
the ascent, try to find a safe place to camp and stop for the night. There s no shame
in this: it can actually safe your life! If you re interested in learning more about

  • 1. Revised Essay Crafting an essay on the subject of a "Revised Essay" presents a unique set of challenges that demand a nuanced approach. Firstly, delving into the intricacies of revising one's own work requires a certain level of self-awareness and objectivity. It involves critically assessing the initial draft, identifying areas that need improvement, and understanding the reasons behind those shortcomings. Navigating through the process of revision can be mentally taxing. It involves grappling with your own thoughts, ideas, and writing style. The difficulty lies in being able to distance oneself from the original content and view it through a fresh lens. This requires a certain level of detachment and a willingness to accept constructive criticism, even when it comes from within. Furthermore, the challenge intensifies as you strive to enhance the overall coherence, clarity, and flow of the essay. It's not merely about correcting grammatical errors; it's about refining the structure and ensuring that each paragraph seamlessly transitions into the next. This demands a keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining the integrity of the essay's central message. In addition, the revising process often involves rewriting and rephrasing sections to convey the intended message more effectively. This requires a deep understanding of the topic and a skillful use of language to communicate ideas with precision and impact. Beyond the internal struggle of self-revision, there's also the external pressure to meet academic or professional standards. Adhering to specific guidelines, formats, and citation styles adds another layer of complexity. Juggling these technical aspects while simultaneously refining the content can be a daunting task, requiring a delicate balance between creativity and adherence to established norms. In conclusion, writing an essay on the theme of a "Revised Essay" is an arduous undertaking that demands a blend of self-reflection, critical analysis, and technical proficiency. It is a process that goes beyond mere correction, involving a transformative journey of improvement. As challenging as it may be, the rewards lie in the refined and polished final product that emerges from the crucible of revision. • 2. Charles Darwin s The Hms Beagle And His Exploration... Today was the day. Today was the day I would finally get all my answers on the theory of evolution, from the master himself, or should I say father . As I opened the door, a mysterious old figure stood with a tortoise by his side: it was Charles Darwin. Quickly and eagerly he went into the dining room and eagerly cried, Guys! I am very glad to see you all! I need to tell you all everything, everything that I had found out about! Before my family had fully sat on their seats, he shared fascinating stories about his adventures and voyages. He began explaining his tails on the famous HMS Beagle and his exploration of the Galapagos Islands. On his voyage on the Beagle he was instructed to chart stretches of coastlines of South America, but as he explained that he wasn t any Picasso, his sketches ended up poorly drawn. As we all know, Darwin has never been the type to enforce rules, and plus charting coastlines is just the most boring job a person can do. As well as charting, he shared his strange fascination on his observations of how the characteristics of plants and animals suits only specific environments in South America. He explained how plants and animals in similar geographic and climate zones have a similar resemblance. With great enthusiasm, Charles addressed my half brother and wife saying, Tom Bradey, 3 time MVP and 4 time super bowl winner, oh and the beautiful Vanessa Hudgens Ramolia! You must see how my observations and these fossils have similar

In the article Annapolis girl, 14, dies after boat capsizes during sailing camp, A teenage girl dies when she got tangled in something. Since the adults are not there, the teens would panic, and that would make the situation worse. Also, if a teen does die, he or
  • 4. Loyalty In Barn Burning Barn Burning, written by William Faulkner, shows the main character, Colonel Sartoris Snopes (Sarty), struggling through major conflicts with along the theme of loyalty against himself, his father and family, and the law. There are many possible themes but the theme of loyalty stands out through the whole short story. Sartoris Snopes had a major conflict with his father, Abner Snopes. Abner Snopes was an outcast from the county they lived in and was an angry man that the majority of the time took things too far. He eventually started breaking the law by burning and ruining other people s belongings and properties. from the beginning, Sartoris did not always agree with his father s actions, but he tried to stay loyal to him and his family ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Abner Snopes pulled Sartoris towards him so he could gain Sartoris advice about growing up, becoming a man, and staying loyal to his blood . Sitting with his father, he asked him about his trial with the Justice, You were fixing to tell them. You would have told them (803). Sartoris knew the truth about the trial and so did everyone else, he was hoping his father would be honest and tell the truth too. After he asked his father about being honest to the Justice, Abner hit him with the flat of his hand on the side of his head. Abner started to give Sartoris advice by telling him You have to learn to stick to your own blood or you ain t going to have any blood to stick to (803). Sartoris his father was in the wrong with what he had previously done but, stuck his father s advice and said no more about the trial and his father s wrongdoings but instead tired staying loyal to his own blood. As they reached the house of the major, his servant told Abner to wipe his feet off before entering. Abner once again did not listen, instead he wiped his feet all over the rug and the outside of the house then left. Sartoris Now realizes his father is not going to change his ways of doing wrong so, Sartoris decides once again to say nothing to show that he is loyal to his father and blood but knows his father is not doing the right thing.
  • 5. How Mitochondria And Chloroplasts Work Together Both mitochondria and chloroplasts are involved in energy transformation, with the former in cellular respiration and the later in photosynthesis. Both organelles have membranes that separate their interiors into compartments. They both have inner membranes (cristae in mitochondria, thylakoid membrane in chloroplast) that have large surface areas with embedded enzymes that carry out their main functions. Mitochondria are the sites of cellular respiration, the metabolic processes that generate ATP by extracting energy from sugars, fats, and other fuels with the help of oxygen. Both contain a small amount of DNA and are semiautonomous. They will grow and reproduce within the cell. It is believed that mitochondria and plastids were ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Chloroplasts and mitochondria are structurally different from the vesicles derived in the endoplasmic reticulum, which are bounded by a single membrane. The cytoskeleton is a network of fibers extending throughout the cytoplasm. It play a major role in organizing the structure and activities of the cell. It gives mechanical support to the cell and maintains its shape, which is especially important in animal cells, which lack cell walls. Several types of motility involve the cytoskeleton as well. It is also involved in regulating biochemical activities in the cell in response to mechanical stimulation. Both of the systems involve long filaments that are moved in relation to each other by motor proteins that grip, release, and grip again adjacent polymers. Dynein arms, powered by ATP, move neighboring doublets of microtubules relative to one another. Because they are anchored within the organelle and with respect to each other, the doublets bend instead of sliding past each other. • 8. The Sixties And The End Of Collapsing In terms of the amount of political upheaval that took place, the 1960s is probably the most fascinating decade post World War II to study historically. To understand how the country was almost at the brink of collapsing, one must survey one of the prominent political actors during the decade: the student movement. According to William H. Chafe in The Unfinished Journey, the student movement emerged from the feeling that President John F. Kennedys insistent call for the young to fulfill America s unfulfilled promises was a mandate for action. Yet, the conclusions made about the student movement in the 1960s are still contested today. David Steigerwald, author of The Sixties and the End to Modern America scrutinizes the student... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... While Chafe s use of the Port Huron Statement is more so a summary of the attitudes of the student movement, Steigerwald offers a critique of the student movement s ambitions. Steigerwald does not deny that the Port Huron Statement was bold, stating that its critiques of U.S. Cold Warforeign policy were both realistic and prescient and that the ideals presented in the statement were meant as an antidote to the ills of bureaucratized society. Personal fulfillment was to be realized through civic participation . However, Steigerwald argues that the deepest flaw of the student movement was that it could encourage mere rebelliousness masquerading as radicalism, a phony radicalism that saw politics as a vehicle for exhibitionism and self assertion rather than change . Steigerwald s critique questions whether the student movement actually aimed to challenge the apparent status quo of the American political landscape. Steigerwald s critique is in accordance with the larger historical critique of the counterculture movement of the 1960s that the movement did not make the impact that it intended to make. Chafe joins with Steigerwald on the critical

This method... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There are many other analytical methods exist for solving nonlinear differential equations, for example: Adomin s decomposition method, Homotopy perturbation method (HPM), Liapunov s artificial method etc. But HAM is more general in comparison of all of these methods. In this thesis, author presents a difference between HPM and HAM, but he has not compared the results of any problem obtained by HAM and HPM. He presents only a theoretical description of comparison of methods. In HAM, we have to choose an initial guess, a linear operator and a convergence control parameter h. According to Liao, we can choose these parameters freely. This thesis provides a way to select an appropriate linear operator and value of convergence parameter. Non uniqueness of linear operator has also mentioned, which shows the independency of choosing a linear operator. Author has applied HAM to solve a system of nonlinear partial and ordinary differential equations, which shows a significant application of HAM. But he has not solved any system of more than two equations; this is a drawback of this thesis. In chapter 3, some theorems are given to show the existence of solution. In fluid flow problems, many differential equations have multiple solutions, but in this thesis this case has not

The grades would be based on a simple grading scale that covers three basic guidelines: A child should be at school on time, prepared to learn after a good night s sleep, and have eaten a meal. A child should have the homework done and prepared for examinations. There should be regular communication between the parent and teacher (Couwels, 2011, p. 1). The guidelines are very clear and straightforward. They are not complex, they are things parents should already be doing, yet the bill is being met with fierce opposition. In the CNN article, Florida lawmaker wants teachers to grade parents, Kindergarten teacher Theresa Hill states: We grade our children based on their performance. Why should the parents be any different (Couwels, 2011, p. 1)? Why is it that a law to improve children s education being met with so much resistance from parents? After all this law is only trying to help children, not inconvenience parents. The blame is constantly being placed on the teacher and school. While teachers and schools are a major key to a child s education, there are more components. In an article printed in The New York Times, Thomas Friedman writes: There s no question that a great teacher can make a

Sleep and fatigue Most accidents are said to be attributed by the fault of the driver. Fatigue or exhausted drivers have long been acknowledged to represent a potential traffic safety risk. Brown (1994) has presented a comprehensive review and discussion of the research of literature on the nature of fatigue and its effects on driver behaviour and traffic accidents, on the basis of which he concluded that fatigue is insufficiently recognised and reported as a cause of road accidents . A most major form of withdrawal of attention is obviously the closing of eyes due to sleepiness. Basically, falling asleep while driving can be speculated on demographical background information about the driver such as gender, age and driving experience. As to gender, males have a significantly higher proportion of sleep related accidents than females. The effect of age was captured by the variable years with driver s licence, which showed a stronger relationship with sleep involvement. There may also be differences in lifestyle; sleep habits, work schedule, etc. While many of those who fall asleep are lucky to escape accidents, there are still thousands who are not as fortunate. It is usually just a matter of time before a driver who falls asleep at the wheel ends up causing an

Modern Communication And Flexible Manufacturing Methods a.Product innovation Title: Decentralised manufacturing Location on the Innovation Matrix: Context, Product Decentralised manufacturing makes it possible for a large international firm like Ikea to reduce transport miles (and the associated carbon, NOx, SO2 and other emissions) and reduces the commercial risks of relying on a sole producer. It supports local small and medium size enterprises, provides local employment and can take advantage of locally sourced materials. The main impact of this innovation is to reduce transport costs. However a secondary benefit is better interaction with customers, especially for products with a short life cycle (Kianian et al. 2013). Modern communication and flexible manufacturing methods (e.g. Computer Numerical Control (CNC), 3 D printing, Additive Manufacturing) are all innovations that allow designs from a centralised source to be manufactured in smaller quantities close to where they will be sold. These techniques can also afford a firm commercial advantage the through the personalised production of products (Mourtzis Doukas 2012) should they wish to adopt this as part of their business model. b.Service innovation Title: Chair leasing Location on the Innovation Matrix: People, Service Leasing office furniture can provide a cost efficient model for. Examples Of Integrity In Goodnight And Goodluck After watching the movie Goodnight and Goodluck directed by George Clooney I think the most important aspect for present day communicators to carry into their work is integrity. I think integrity is important because it is a value that shows your character and personality. During the movie Murrow developed his character by consistently being honest with others and himself. Edward Murrow shows integrity quite often. For example, when McCathy starts making false accusations, Murrow stands up in front of the camera and defends himself by stating facts to prove his innocence. Genre is a fundamental means by which we communicate especially in storytelling. If looking at genre in terms of Thomas Shatz, he puts forward the theory of similarity and overlap. He adopts a thematic and ideological approach, which identifies only two genres; the genre of order and the genre of integration. In this case the Western would be categorised into the genre of order. This essay shall also look at how genre films change over time, due to changes in society, as characters ... Within each of the films, the revenge narratives are both set around the female, as in The searchers , Ethan and Martin aim to save the young girl Debbie, and in Unforgiven , Will, Ned and the Schofield Kid aim to get revenge for the female prostitutes, this therefore shows how genre could be seen to predictable and formulaic as these two western films show how they both follow similar structures and narratives. The theorists Propp and Todorov have focused on the similarity in narrative across different genres. They suggest that genres that are different from one another in terms of visual, verbal and musical signifiers operate according to the same narrative structures. Propp puts forward the story functions of hero, villain and donor etc, and Todorov puts forward the equilibrium narrative theory. These two theorists therefore show, how genre could be seen to be predictable and formulaic, as both of their theories can be applies to The Searchers and Unforgiven , and they also believe they can be applied to many other genres and films. The characters within The Searchers fit into Propps story function as it is shown that, Ethan is the main hero within the film, Martin is the main helper throughout the film and Debbie is seen as the princess who needs to be saved. The same story function can

In Germany, the supervisor is still called a vorarbeiter ( fore worker ); in England, the term charge hand is used. Both terms suggest the lead person origin. The term supervisor has its roots in Latin, where it means looks over. It was originally applied to the master of a group of artisans. UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY, SYDNEY FACULTY OF ENGINEERING AND IT 31266 Introduction to Information Systems Autumn 2015 Assignment I 1.Create TWO bad behaviour of Case and Disease Management systems scenarios and explain each in detail? The Encyclopaedia of Business, 2nd Edition on the Reference for Business website describes a role of a management information system as a computer system that provides management and other personnel within an organisation with up to date information (Management Information Systems, para 4). A bad behaviour scenario is when this system does not meet the intended requirements and leaves the business less efficient and the customers dissatisfied. First scenario: A patient suffers from heart disease. Their medical consultation history such as appointments and follow up care is taken care of by the case management system and the progress of their heart disease in managed by the disease management system. The patient moves houses and thus has a change in address, however this change, due to poor management, has only been recorded in the disease management system and thus the old address is still active in the case management system. Confidential health reports are sent to the wrong address due to the incorrect information in the case management system, unknown to the hospital. This compromises the patient s medical privacy and also inconveniences them as they are not receiving their own personal health reports by mail. Second scenario: A

First, Marquez underlines, Both were exhausted from the barbarous work of death... (49). Marquez exemplifies the way in which some aspects of religion are ignored and some have great emphasis put on them. When Roman finds out that his new bride is not a virgin, he returns her. She is beaten savagely, and her brothers are called from the brothel to come defend the family s honor. The hypocrisy of family is revealed as they consider honor to be a part of the religion and instead of religiously and peacefully solve the manner, the brothers murder Santiago Nasar. The family believes that upholding the honor is righteous, and in doing so the sin of murdering Nasar is downplayed. Furthermore, when the brothers put down their knives in front of the priest, instead of giving them advice or condemning them, the priest recalled the surrender as an act of dignity (49). This is in total conflict with Catholicism as it is amongst the Ten Commandments that Thou shall not kill and thus it illustrates that even the priest of the town has lost the knowledge of the true religion. Marquez cements the corruption of religion as even father Amador protected the brothers and not only him but the lawyer stood by the thesis of homicide in legitimate defense of honor, which was upheld by the court in good faith (48). Marquez continues to demonstrate that the society was lenient on the brothers due to tradition and thus it illustrates that religion was only a minor

Custom made treatments are a little more involved than driving to a store and taking the window treatments home.
