Today, stories are an intrinsic part of our society and culture. Past down from
generation to generation, whether it is in movies, music, news, media, religions, or
art; the influence of storytelling is to be seen in all aspects of our lives. But when it
comes to writing our stories, through literature, the distinct features of storytelling are
most prevalent. Just like in Yann Martels book, Life of Pi, the author explores
storytelling as the bridge to our sanity when faced with a traumatic or difficult
experience. In this novel, two story truths Martel explores are the saving role of
the imagination and the fear of the illusions of freedom in both religion and zoos.
In Karen Russell s novel, Swamplandia she uses the existence of ghosts and the
Bigtree family s grief from Hilola s death, as the two motifs in Russell s theme of
storytelling. Based off of both novels, we are able to see how Mattel and Russell uses
the human imagination of storytelling to overcome the obstacles presented in life.
Martel uses Richard Parker to represent how powerful the human mind s

While attending your college classes, some of your classmates may live in a dorm on
campus, while others may commute from home. Yes, we are all trying to achieve the
same goal, a diploma, but it is the struggles that lead up to earning that piece of paper
that we must take into consideration. Cost, opportunities, and distractions all should
be considered, and that is why commuting from home would be the smartest choice
when attending college. When discussing cost, it can be a huge difference maker
whether you are choosing to live at home or on campus. When you choose to live
on campus, you have to experience dorm life, pay room and board, and live off of
cheap food. Coming from a student who currently lives at home while attending
college, I save so much more moneythan some of my friends who live on campus.
An advantage of living at home is that I am capable of paying off my student loans
as I go through school because tuition is much cheaper and you get to work as well.
You can work whether you live on campus or at home, but you get to save more
money while living at home because you have less tuition and expenses. Not having

Not every worker at Tewksbury Physical Therapy gets a break during their shift.
There are sixteen workers here, and only seven of those workers have scheduled
lunch breaks, and another 4 are able to take a break when they have a free minute.

evolution of media has changed greatly and is currently in the golden age of
