is ambiguous and lacks clear direction. The absence of specific guidelines or established
parameters can make it a daunting task for any writer. The challenge lies in deciphering what "24
Essay" entails and determining the scope, purpose, and structure of the essay.
One may grapple with questions such as: Is it about the number 24, a time-based theme, or
something entirely different? The ambiguity could lead to confusion and hinder the development
of a coherent and focused essay. The process of researching, organizing thoughts, and
establishing a thesis becomes more intricate when the subject matter is elusive.

compelling essay typically revolves around a clear central idea that captivates the reader's

Ain T Your Mama And Fight Song Analysis
Throughout the Rock and Roll: Catalyst For Social Change course, students have
learned about many different artists, genres, and their songs in Western musical
history. More importantly, we ve learned about how those artists and songs have
addressed far reaching social issues. For instance, Charley Patton s Tom Rushen
Blues addressed racism, and Prince s songs provoked controversy concerning
censorship and freedom of speech, as discussed in the previous weeks. However,
there are many more songs that could be used as teachers of this wide array of social
issues. Rachel Platten s Fight Song and Jennifer Lopez s Ain t Your Mama are two
songs that Western Music History students could benefit from learning about. Rachel

Ain t Your Mama is a song set in ABAB form with a strong rhythmic focus that
obtained a spot on the US Billboard charts shortly after its release in early 2016
(Billboard Editors). Lopez is also a democrat, but, unlike Rachel Platten, intended
for her song to make a strong message from the beginning, and doesn t publically
associate it with the Democratic party (Kershaw). The lyrics are constructed from
a woman s point of view blatantly telling her man that she s not going to do work
for him. The lyrics start off strong by stating, I ain t gon be cooking all day, I ain t
your mama; I ain t gon do your laundry, I ain t your mama; I ain t your mama, boy, I
ain t your mama When you re gon get your act together? and continues in this
fashion throughout the entire duration of the song (Thomas et al). These lyrics
represent the issue of feminism that s been argued about for many decades by
rejecting the traditional view of women as those who stay at home and take care of
their husbands. Rather, Lopez seems to suggest that men should take care of
themselves because women much potential that shouldn t be wasted by waiting on
men. Another section of the song that perfectly illustrates this point says Things are
about to change, round here, round here; We used to be crazy in love, Can we go
back to how it was? When did you get too comfortable? Cause I m too good for

Valentine s Day Lou Ann Character Analysis
Taylor also experiences injustice in the society she has been living, How can I just
be upset about Turtle, about a grown man hurting a baby, when the whole day of
the world is to pick on people that can t fight back (229). As Taylor learns more
about the injustices of the world and the mothering, she becomes more
disillusioned with the world and less sure of herself. This causes Taylor to rethink
the world in different view which helps her see the world broaden. The dark side of
the world can happen anywhere and to anybody, not only with the people she knows
in Pittman. This also challenges Taylor about the motherhood. At first when Taylor
accepts to keep Turtle, she believes she is able to raise Turtle from harm. However,

Taylor learns some good things about Lou Ann, one of them is the relationship.
Lou Ann shows Taylor that the relationship is good which she means both
friendship and community relationship. Besides Mattie, Taylor also needs helps
from Lou Ann and sometimes depends on her. In chapter six Valentine s Day,
Taylor expresses the feeling that she dislikes the idea Lou Ann and her act like a
married couple. Lou Ann takes care of the kids and cooks. Conversely, Taylor goes
to work to support the family (84 85). Kingsolver might suggest that growing close
to Lou Ann makes Taylor scared. In other words, Taylor s real problem is a fear of
attachment. However, Lou Ann proves to Taylor that relationship is helpful and
good. Together, the two friends make a safe and happy home for themselves and
their children. They both can share the feelings, talk, laugh and get drunk together.
In short, their conversations actually make them feel better and understand each
other more. Moreover, the two ladies support and help each other through good and
bad times such as taking turn to cook and take care of the children. Also, Taylor
helps Lou Ann become more independently, gain more confident and self reliance,
begin to express opinions aloud, speak up and feel less inclined to bow to the
opinions of others. In return, Lou Ann helps and protects Taylor when she faces
difficult situations. In chapter twelve Into The terrible Night, after the incident
happens to Turtle, Lou Ann takes one week off just to stay home to take care of
Turtle, putting her promotion at risk (169) while Taylor is still in her depression
state. Humorously, Lou Ann also spies on the neighborhood, hoping can find the bad
guy who attacks Turtle at the park. Furthermore, in chapter thirteen Night Blooming
Cereus, when Taylor faces hardship and is about to give up on keeping Turtle, Lou
Ann tries to persuade Taylor to find
How The English Changed North America Essay
For civilization to evolve, changes must be made. Imagine what the world would
be like if the Natives were just alone and no country migrated to North America.
Would technology even exist? Would the main weapons be just spears and arrows?
Would medicine be invented so people could live long lives without dying of
diseases? These are questions that will never have to be answered because the world
evolved into a much bigger and better place. The English changed North Americano
matter what the cost was. Some may argue that the English are the ones to blame
for King Phillip s War, but that is not the case here. The Indians did not want
change and overall, it did not work out real well for them. In this case, the war was
brutal on both sides. The Natives did not change their customs as much as the
English wanted them to. By not assimilating to European values and customs, the
Natives caused the war over hatred of English values and traditions and made the
world a dangerous place to live in. Daniel Richter was the author of Facing East
from Indian Country and Jill Lepore wrote The Name of War. Lepore made some
very interesting points that will be discussed that can make the Natives look like
savages, but the English were not angels either. King Phillip s War is one of the most
brutal wars in America and there really was not anything good about it. Mistakes
were made and history was changed. Richter took a standpoint that focused on the
English pushing away the

Good Will In Kant s Simony Dilemma
The Simony Dilemma applies to anyone who obtained their position illegitimately
by bribery, false credentials, lying, inappropriate influence, etc. but does an
outstanding job. An example would be if someone was accepted to a prestigious
university, but was not honest in their application. Of course this person would be
proud and honored to attend such a university, but they would know that they did
not truly deserve to be there, even if the excelled at the school. They would always
have guilt that they took someone else s spot who may have been more deserving.
In this example of the Simony Dilemma, Kant believes that a good will is an
unqualified good, or a good without qualification. Deontologism says the value of an
act depends on more than consequences, while... Show more content on

Kant believes the moral quality of an act doesn t depend on consequences at all. In
this way, kant would say that it doesn t matter whether or not you take someone
else s spot at a university, even if they were more deserving. Kant claims we have
moral obligations to ourselves and others. In his argument, there are two kinds of
obligations: perfect obligations and imperfect obligations. The perfect obligation
to ourselves is suicide as we use it to avoid pain. The perfect obligation to others is
promises as we use them to gain advantage. The imperfect obligation to ourselves
is our talents as we use our lives for mere enjoyment; we do not give ourselves full
respect as moral and rational agent. The imperfect obligation to others is charity as it
does not give others full respect as moral and rational agents. In
Southeast Asian Nations ( Asean ) Essay
INTRODUCTION
Southeast Asia consists of ten countries which are largely characterized by their
membership within the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). The
nations sit in a very important geographical location as the region sits astride key
choke points for shipping between the Indian and Pacific Oceans, and as described
by Bateman et al, economically and strategically important to the economies of
Northeast Asia, the United States, and the emerging maritime powers of Asia . One
of the key choke points located between Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore is the
Strait of Malacca which was estimated to have 15.2 million barrels of oil pass
through the strait a day in 2013. ASEAN was formed in 1967 by its five founding
members Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore and Thailand , during a time
where the region was described as conflict ridden and akin to the Balkans of the East .
It was an era where these nation states had just gained post colonial independence,
and the atmosphere was plagued with mutual distrust and uncertainty as the new
found governments were still trying to find their footing.
In his speech at a United Nations (UN) meeting in 2001, former Secretary General of
ASEAN Roldofo Certeza Severino, Jr had labelled Southeast Asia as fractured at the
time of ASEAN s founding where each member state was either pre occupied with
domestic conflicts or embroiled in some form of territorial dispute with its
neighbouring countries. It
National Instant Background Check System
Federal law prohibits the sale of firearms to certain individuals with a history of
mental illness, however it cannot require states to make information identifying
these people available to the federal or state agencies that perform background
checks. This may have many states fail to voluntarily report the necessary records to
the FBI s National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS), especially
with respect to people prohibited from possessing guns for mental health reasons. As
a result, some individuals known to be dangerous can pass background checks and
obtain firearms. An example of a mass shooting that occurred due to a state s failure
to report mental health is the Virginia Tech shooting. Seung Hui Cho is a student that

The paper deals with the current use of Project management in the software
applications. Project management is the science (and art) of organizing the
components of a project, whether the development of a new product or the launch of
a new service. It is not something that s a part of normal business operations. A project
consumes resources and it has funding limits. Lehner (2010) stated that project
knowledge management process is playing a key role in the organizations and
reinforcing them to manage the entire activities of the organizations. In this paper we

Discriminatory About Prejudice
According to Merriam Webster Dictionary, the definition of prejudice is a
preconceived judgment or opinion; an adverse opinion or leaning formed without
just grounds or before sufficient knowledge . According to Paula S. Rothenberg s
Race, Class, and Gender in the United States, it seems as prejudice is practiced both
intentionally and unintentionally, whether the person is discriminatory or not. For
example, growing up as a child, my friend and I were enrolled in a bilingual studies
course during our 5th grade year because we were Hispanics . Although we both
coincidentally spoke fluent Spanish, the point of the class was to teach a child to
speak English, which happened to be my main language. I believe this example was

Revolutionary War Influence
The American Revolutionary War was the most influential war in American History.
The Background of the war is the British were taxing the colonists heavily and
creating outrageous laws. Such as the Intolerable Acts, where the British took away
access to the Boston Port. They also took away some of their rights to self
government. They made trail for British officials available in Britain and made it
legal to search homes and buildings. The colonists were fed up with the British and
started rebelling. They had rebellions such as the Boston Tea Party, where they
dumped tons of Britain s tea into the Boston Harbor. The start of the battle took place

As a little girl, I was forced to grow up way before my time. I never had the ability
to forgive and let go. I was suffocated with the memories of my past. Mrs. Westby,
my English Teacher, could tell that my writings only scratched the surface. She asked

Acute Disseminated Encephalomyelitis Case Studies
The Idea of writing about Acute Disseminated Encephalomyelitis came to me as I
was watching the medical show called Mystery Diagnosis in discovery. This
neurological disease caught my attention so much because the patient went to
several doctors and no one could give her a clear answer as to why this symptoms
were happening. Also, with rare cases like this one it only further proves that the
human body is still a mystery. This neurological disease relates to our Anatomy and
physiology class because of the simple fact that we are trying to learn and understand
how the body as a whole is made but also how each part connect, functions, and could
potentially damage each other. More Importantly, this neurological disorder further
enhances our learning in possible disease that can affect the central nervous systemas
well as the peripheral nervous system.

Different Perspectives On The Field Of Policy Essay
1.)Wheelan and Stone present very different perspectives on the field of policy
analysis. Describe their perspective using examples from the text. Which perspective
do you believe in? Is there a way the two perspectives can co exist?
The perspectives that Wheelan and Stone presents that differentiate from the tow is
the basis of how they view public policy and its impact on its citizens.
Wheelan approaches the public policy realm from an impactful view of society and
how institutions are the driving force behind public policy. Wheelan mentions,
what any society s major challenges will always have in common is that they fall
under the rubric of public policy, meaning that they cannot be addressed
satisfactorily by a single individual or by one entrepreneurial firm (Wheelan xxi). I
believe what he is saying is that the nature of public policy has become so broad
and complex that to address the root cause of the issue would never be solved by an
individual, group, or entity.
Wheelan instead says that public policy would require communal decisions such as
where should a new airport be built? How should we protect ourselves against our
external enemies? And what substances can or cannot be dumped in a communal
water source? (Wheelan xxii). These questions that as a human society and even a
human being, we must tackle as the policy decisions that are proposed and presented,
will have major and long lasting impacts on society. Furthermore, Wheelan believes
that public policy

Video Game And Violent Video Games
Along with the rapid development of the internet in recent years, game and violence
game have become companions of young people. We could not deny the fact that
video game already has strong attraction for many people. Especially in today s
society, when work pressure is growing, gaming is an effective solution to relieve
tension, dispel feeling of fatigue, anxiety. Playing the normal video game, which it
not include any violence scenes, plus regulatory reasonable playing time can help
players relaxed and balanced in terms of psychological after hours of studying, and
working hard. But a lot of current game players do not like the gamethat bring the
gently feeling, they want to experience a new kind of game, which make up a
stronger feeling, and be able to do thing that they would not be able to do in the real
world. This is one major reason that make people who enjoy to playviolence video
game have increase, and difficult to abandon this kind of game. A lot of people
think that when you often playing violent video game, you will easy be haunted
by the feeling of the spectacle going on in the game, and this will lead to the
violation of real life. There is also an argument that violent video game did not
affect the players because it is just a game, and it not real. The players should be
able to tell what is real and what is virtual. In my opinion, playing violent video
game did not affect to people behavior. Instead of that, playing violent video game is
a benefit to
Memory Of Dreams And Episodic Experiences
Memories are the of dreams (Baylor and Cavallero) In a study entitled, Memory of
dreams: the incorporation of autobiographical rather than episodic experiences by
the University of Bedfordshire, states that the subject you see in you dreams are
based on your waking life memories. (Horton p. 441) In the study, they focused on
whether people with anterograde amnesia remembers information about themselves
more or the events that he experienced. The study showed that episodic memories
were dreamt of more. Furthermore, it also showed that the dreams we see are just a
mere interpretation of real life experience. (Horton p. 444) Dreams are commonly
about experiences the people you ve met, the places you ve been to, or something
you ve done.

Essay about Treatment of Female Sexuality in Last Tango
in...
Unrestrained female sexuality in popular media is regarded as something of a
taboo. As a society, we are not used to the pleasure of women being portrayed on
screen, despite our supposedly equal society. Much of this is the inflection of
sexism and the patriarchy, placed upon the minds of the masses, influencing the
internalized discomfort of female sexuality. This, of course, does not apply towards
male sexuality. Male sexuality is unrelenting and respected, even revered. These
concepts of unrestrained sexuality, equal pleasure and lack of censoring have
leached into one of the major sources of media in our society, which is the all
encompassing film. Film acts as a medium for art, and for information. We are
entertained, as well as... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In Italian Cinema, through exploring the films viewed through the semester, some
are more on point with the treatment of female sexuality. These often stand out, for
various reasons, but most frequently due to lots of sex and sexual themes within
the film. For discussion of the treatment of female sexuality in Italian film are is
one film. This film is the iconic film, Last Tango in Paris, or Ultimo tango a Parigi.
This film has a very interesting storyline, and exploration of character dynamics, as
well as interesting history. But most importantly, this film explores female
sexuality and sexual power structures in a unique way. The treatment of female
sexuality in Italian film also gives us a historical dialectism because we are
exposed to the treatment and regard of women at that particular point in history,
both when the film took place as well as when the film was created. To begin, the
treatment of female sexuality in the masterpiece of a film, Last Tango in Paris.
Last Tango in Paris, or Ultimo tango a Parigi, was directed by Bernardo Bertolucci
in 1972. Starring Marlon Brando and Maria Schneider, it is a tragic film at it s
core, yet still an epic emotional experience. The fusion of Italian, French, and
Western film is an impressive display, yet it still retains the beauty and underlying
tragedy of classic Italian cinema. Bertolucci is certainly a master of Italian cinema,
and Last Tango in Paris is a beautiful, erotic display
While I Fully Believe That It Is Important To Understand
While I fully believe that it is important to understand what happens in the past, I
believe that what we experience in the present is just as important. Throughout the
semester this class, values and ethics, has helped me to understand not only the
actions of myself, but the actions of those around me in the past as well. This class
has taught me what it means to have values and morals, as well as how important it
is to accept the values and morals of others. Meeting and being around people who
had different morals and values than I did, is something that I have never really
been around, so this class was both positive and negative for me. Growing up in East

Religion to many people, myself included, is the basis of who they are. Jong
explains the role of religious leaders, within a person s value system. Over the
course of this semester, I have leaned on my religious views to get me through, each
morning before class, I sit in my car and read my bible. Then, coming into class, I
apply my religious thoughts to the topic of the day, it is amazing just how much that
alone changed my views.
Throughout the semester, my values have not really been altered that much. I have
however, accepted people s opinions that are way different from mine. I have heard
numerous people talk about why they think like they do and where they get their
morals from. There have been many times that the people that are in my group, or
sit around me have said things that I do not agree with at all, but instead of arguing,
I listened. While I did not agree with them, in some instances I agreed with their
reasoning behind things, and I think that is important. I think this class is a lot about
learning that everyone is not the same, and that everyone is always going to have a
differnt opinion than you do, and for the first time I think that is ok.
This course has defiantly taught me a lot about stereotype, not just that I have but
that everyone else around me has as well. Coming into the class, I never expected it
to be like it has been. I expected it to just be lectures from a book, but this class
William Butler Yeats And His Life
Who knows when a Nobel Prize would have been given to an Irish man if it had
not been for William Butler Yeats? William Butler Yeats is a great figure in the
history of Irish poetry and playwriting. He wrote many poems and plays throughout
his entire life. He was a very modernist man and many of his poems were based on
this, they were ahead of his time beautiful and inspiring. What was behind William
Butler Yeatssuccess, and what phases did he have to go through to get there. This
man has influenced many poems and plays, writing and he has also inspired so many
people around the world.
William Butler Yeats was born on June 13th, 1865 Dublin, Ireland. His death was
in a hotel on January 28th, 1939 in Menton, France. His father, John Butler Yeats
was a lawyer who turned to be an artist. His mother Susan Pollexfun was from a
wealthy family, who owned a shipping business. He grew up in Sligo, Ireland,
Dublin Ireland and London England. He married at forty years of age to George
Hyde and had two children a girl by the name of Anne and then a boy named Michael.
He believed that he had the willpower to do anything that as long as he had it he
could succeed at anything he put his mind to. This belief of willpower had come
from pagan roots. William Yeats was a person who could not stand rudeness in any
way shape or form; he was quick to put a rude person in their place. Yeats was very
good at speaking; he was especial quick at winning arguments or discussions. At first,

Essay on Sonny s Blues by James Baldwin
Sonny s Blues revolves around the narrator as he learns who his drug hooked, piano
playing baby brother, Sonny, really is. The author, James Baldwin, paints views on
racism, misery and art and suffering in this story. His written canvas portrays a dark
and continual scene pertaining to each topic. As the story unfolds, similarities in each
generation can be observed. The two African Americanbrothers share a life similar to
that of their father and his brother. The father s brother had a thirst for music, and
they both travelled the treacherous road of night clubs, drinking and partying before
his brother was hit and killed by a car full of white boys. Plagued, the father carried

Words expressed only through the agonizing notes of distress and sadness. Only then
was the art and suffering, comingled in only a way that life s experiences could bring.
Sonny s fingers filled the air with life, his life. But that life contained so many
others.....He made it his: that long line, of which we knew only Mama and Daddy.
And he was giving it back, so that, passing through death, it can now live forever. I
saw my Mother s face again, and felt, for the first time, how the stones of the road
she had walked on must have bruised her feet. I saw the moonlit road where my
father s brother died. And it brought something else back to me, and carried me
past it. I saw my little girl again and felt Isabel s (his wife) tears again, and felt my
own tears begin to rise. And I was yet aware that this was only a moment, that the
world waited outside, as hungry as a tiger, and that trouble stretched above us, longer
than the sky. (359)
The narrator was writhing in the misery of the burden of brotherly love. The narrator
s mother, via tasking him with looking after Sonny, asked him to serve as his sibling s
keeper and protector. The narrator was riddled with grief throughout his life right
from the burden of brotherly love that was placed upon his shoulder, to the
dilapidated living conditions he and Sonny had to endure while shaking up in the
projects, to the imprisonment of his younger brother and the death of his own daughter
Why Is Brian Mulroney Powerful
Throughout Canadian history there have been many influential political leaders in
the past, but none as powerful or significant as Brian Mulroney. Through political
criticism, Brian Mulroney served as the longest Prime Minister in Canada. All
together Brian Mulroney was one of the best Prime Ministers, but he was just
misunderstood. He gave CanadaFree Trade, which secured our economic prosperity.
Brian Mulroney signed the Nunavut Settlement Agreement to secure Canada as a
better country and a better place to live. The settlement consisted of two things. The
1st thing that the settlement was consisting of was the Arctic Islands and mainland
Eastern Island. The 2nd thing the settlement consisted of was the Belcher Island, and
its association with the marine areas. The agreement that was signed on July 9, 1993

heavy packs on your pack such as going to college, or even more so when carrying

compressible discs that separate the vertebrae that make up the spine. DDD can
take place within the spine but most often occurs at the lumbar disc levels and also
the cervical disc level. More so the lumbar region because of the amount of weight

treatment is not successful. Simple treatment would be oral non steroidal, Physical
Therapy exercises to take home and use. Also if this condition continues you have
to rule out tumors, bone disease or infection. For treatment initially ice/heat
therapy is used with medications such as Motrin or Naproxen. If the symptoms
continue and the treatment is not successful then more evasive treatment is
available. In my case I was going to Physical Therapy twice a week initially and
using a Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS) Unit to help reduce

bones are permanently fused but the drawback to this is you have now speed up the
arthritic changes in bone and later in life will have to deal with that pain. Surgery is

China s Lost Girls Analysis
As a result of China s cultural preference for boys and its one child policy, girls are
abandoned and even killed, which has led to a gender imbalance. China s Lost Girls
is a documentary about the international adoption of abandoned Chinese girls to
American families. Approximately 40,000 Ethiopian women annually have an
obstetric fistula. A Walk to Beautiful is a documentary about the impact of obstetric
fistula on four Ethiopian women. The social problems in both films are cultural and
specifically affect women. However, their solutions are different. The social
problems in China s Lost Girls and A Walk To Beautiful are acknowledged however,
China s gender imbalance and obstetric fistula are the results of different cultural
views.

The Wild Things Are By Maurice Sendak
Over the course of Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak, Max, the
protagonist, displays in many ways that he is influenced by his mother. The story
begins with Max misbehaving in a wolf suit and getting punished by her for it.
After being sent to his room, his mind conjured a place where he could experience
what it s like to be in control. Max himself is a wild thing, and when he arrives at
the island with the other wild things, he wants to understand why he was punished
so he tames them. Max is made king by the wild things and then uses his newfound
authority to punish them when all they did was obeyed his order to party . Max
starts to regret his decision to leave home when he starts feeling lonely after
having banished the wild things, and returns home to his mother. The narrator of
Sendak s Where the Wild Things Are starts by telling the reader about the
consequences Max faces from misbehaving. Sendak writes the following, Max
wore his wolf suit and made mischief of one kind and another and his mother called
him WILD THING! and Max said I LL EAT YOU UP (line 1). This implies that Max
doesn t feel that he himself can make mischief , he feels he has to put on a mask to
do so. If he wants to express himself or release stress, he has to be someone or
something else, so as to not disappoint his mother. When his mother calls him
WILD THING! he embraces this persona she s given him by saying I LL EAT YOU

affect customer service:
a) Seeing as how Alton Towers is an amusement park, factors that could effect could
affect customer service can range from factors such as are there many places for
visitors to purchase food for when they are hungry, are they enough lavatories around
the park, and, most importantly, are the rides in the park easily accessible. Other
things such as how queues are managed and navigation around the park may also

f) What Alton Towers do to maintain its customer standards is quite varied. Like the
types of customers I mentioned above, they do try and cater to the needs that I
listed. They have electronic signs around the park which informs people of the
predicted amount of time you would be in the queue for a ride, which is very good for
people who do not want to wait a long time for a ride. They have maps all around
the park, with the You Are Here marker to allow for easy navigation, and the maps
are plentiful. They are plenty of activities which appeal to young children and thrill
seekers, ranging from staged shows and small rides for younger children to large
roller coasters and in park pubs for older customers. They have plenty of lavatories
in the amusement park, with bathrooms for disabled customers and changing areas
for parents with young children. They are many places for people to eat at in Alton

Baseball Force
The pictures above show something most people are probably familiar with.
Especially during this season, baseball is extremely popular, and is one of America
s most well liked sports. Two huge components of the game, the pitcher throwing the
ball and a batter hitting it, are shown in the two pictures. The picture was taken of
two players on the Gonzaga University team, one player pitching the ball and the
other player up to bat, at the baseballfield in Patterson Complex.
The sport of baseball revolves around the pitcher throwing the ball, and the batter
hitting it to a designated spot. The throwing of the ball involves many physical
concepts. There is force applied to the ball, and it flies through the air with a certain
velocity, and there ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Putting spin on the ball results in a curveball. Jon Drobnis, author of The Physics
Behind Baseball, states that air flows swiftly under the ball, causing it to dive
when it is thrown with curve. A curveball spins from top to bottom, opposite of a
fastball, which spins from bottom to top. The ball is given curve by snapping the
wrist as it is thrown (Griesmer, 2014). The air flowing under the ball is caused by
the existence of air resistance. Air resistance is also called drag, and it is the
forces opposing an object in motion through the air. They act opposite to the
direction of the object s velocity, and they depend directly on velocity. The ball
flying through the air meets the opposing force of air resistance, which causes air
to flow under the ball creating low pressure, and air to flow over the top of the ball
creating an area of high pressure. If the ball lacked spin, the air would simply flow
around the ball, rather than over it and under it. Throwing a curveball causes the
ball to deviate from the straight path of the pitcher to the catcher, and it also causes
the ball to drop suddenly before it reaches the batter. As the ball is flying through
the air, it deviates slightly from the straight path a fastball would normally take.
Although it only deviates from the straight path by a few inches, from the point of
view of the batter it looks as if the ball curves about 15 inches from the straight
Tort And The Law Of Tort
The word of tort originally comes from the Latin word of tortus, that meaning twisted
and tort in French meaning wrong. The law of tort is deferent from criminal law and
the law of tort derived from common law. Tort is a wrongful act, not including a

Waste Disposal Of The United States
Waste disposal in the United States is a vast and complicated enterprise. From the
handling of regular household trash to hazardous, toxic waste materials, a great deal
of infrastructure is required in order to best store and transport such materials in a
way that does not conflict with communities. However, in point of fact, there is a
great deal of trouble with the current wastemanagement systems of the United
States: from destructive ecological effects to humanitarian concerns in low/under
privileged neighborhoods in America, there is a lot to consider when it comes to
the topic of waste disposal in cities of the United States. That being the case, the
following will proceed to address a myriad of issues affecting waste disposal
systems in the United States, starting with general information about American s
usage of waste disposal systems, followed by environmental effects and the role of
the Environmental Protection Agency (or EPA) in addressing these issues.
==================== First, let us look at some basic statistics about the
American s use of waste disposal systems. According to the EPA, In 2013, Americans
generated about 254 million tons of trash and recycled and composted about 87
million tons of this material, equivalent to a 34.3 percent recyclingrate. On average,
we recycled and composted 1.51 pounds of our individual waste generation of 4.40
pounds per person per day (epa.gov, 2015). On the whole, American s produce a great
deal of waste. And
The Psychology of Nihilism
The Psychology of Nihilism Written from the perspective of a struggling writer
living in the city of Christiania near Oslo, Norway, Knut Hamsun s Hunger is a
semi autobiographical work that reflects upon Hamsun s own struggle as he
worked to establish his literary reputation. The reader follows the protagonist as he
descends ever deeper into psychological unrest as a result of poverty. Richard
Wright s The Man Who Lived Underground offers the same voyeuristic experience
for the reader as they observe the life of a man on the lamb for being wrongfully
accused of a crime and who takes to city sewers to seek refuge. Both pieces share the
same overarching theme: the psychologyof nihilism in the face of poverty. Hamsun

He was free! (Wright 62).
This quote takes place after Daniels steals money and other items from a safe that
he had discovered during his exploits underground. Daniel s is able to gain access to
large amounts of mosey that he otherwise would not had he remained on the surface.
This passage allows the reader to observe Daniels psychological unrest as he pastes
money to a wall for sport. Wright uses this narrative technique to suggest something
different about nihilism in the face of poverty: the negation of something meaningful.
For his protagonist it is both wealth and access. Hunger and The Man Who Lived
Underground both have the same over arching theme: the psychology of nihilism in
the face of poverty. In addition, both texts use stream of consciousness to allow the
reader an intimate window into the protagonists minds. However, each text illustrates
different messages about poverty and nihilism; Hamsun s text suggests the
psychology of nihilism is destructive to oneself while Wright s text suggests the
psychology of nihilism is the rejection of meaningful aspects of life.

Although problems with the inappropriate use of social networks are not new, in
recent years, it has been observed by many authorities how the internet allows any
actor to perform information operations with amazing ease and effectiveness. Indeed,
several countries and individuals are using online multichannel platforms and social
networks like Instagram, Snapchat Facebook, Twitter or YouTube, the mentioned
sites allows any actor to collect an enormous amount of information on their potential
adversaries and influence public opinion through propaganda and counter propaganda
activities. The armed forces of several countries, including the United States want to
take action on the issue, this has caused a domino effect that not only touches us...

In short, the use of social networks in the military has not only become an important
tool of strategic intelligence and communication, but also a threat to the security of
operations, a danger to its members, a loudspeaker to accuse or expose perhaps
without justification, thus putting at risk the reputation of our armed forces.
Preparing ourselves is key, as leaders, allowing ourselves the time to continue
evolving to be able to continue thinking above what is considered by others to be the
median. Undoubtedly, in this way competent Marines can help the institution to find
a solution. Here the simple goal, we the leaders must consolidate our efforts to stop
the idea that the exchange of inappropriate media in social networks is a mode of
recreation without consequences. Everything mentioned is already possible, since we
possess the means, experience, maturity, and determination necessary to carry it out.
Through all the discussion we must recognize that social networks are not going to
disappear, so let s concentrate on training, educating, and inspiring everyone, at the
end of the day as leaders is our

In this assignment I compiled the data of the Nissan GT R 3.8 (R35). The Data
collected includes the age, type and price which allowed me to make a statistic
about how the age affects the price of this certain model over several years. I will
be using the correlation regression and scatter diagram to get the regression line.
As we can see, the price drops the elder the car is. Inside the range of the diagram the
prediction might be accurate. So we can tell very precisely how much the car is
going to cost in the next few years, but we won t be able to give a very precise
prediction on how much the car is going to cost after a long term (more than 10

How ELT Has Helped Make English the Global Language
How ELT has Helped Make English the Global Language
Standardization of English Controversies It is not difficult to determine why
English began its rise as the predominant language in the world. Britain, the
progenitor of the language, once bragged that the Sun never set on the British
Empire. This is true in that the empire stretched to all areas of the globe, and the
nation of England had influence beyond just its possessions. Because the
conquerors spoke English, many of the citizens learned to at least use a few simple
phrases that would allow them to take the better jobs offered by the English. This
same scenario has happened since the United States has become the world
superpower. In areas such as commerce and science, it is almost non negotiable that a
person has to learn English to survive. The global climate dictates that there must be a
single language which everyone can turn to as that spoken in a particular discipline.
Because of the economic superiority of the United States over the past 50 years, and
the fact that the US has also dominated many fields within science, English is spoken
by many people around the world. However, it is a second language. The fact is that
English is not the preeminent first language. Chinese Mandarin has far more native
speakers than any other language in the world (Lovgren, 2004). Of course, just the
sheer volume of Chinese make this a certainty, but many of these people still speak
English as a second language because

Analysis Of One Night The Moon
Perkins makes frequent use of contrast to explore ideas in One Night The Moon.
Discuss.
In Rachel Perkins film, One Night The Moon, Issues relating to culture and social
class are explored through the perspectives of different characters, as they confront a
tense and divisive situation. Perkins explores the characters relationship with the
outback landscape through a series of emotive songs and structural features, such as
camera angles and wide shots. With the use of contrasts, Perkins is able to express
the theme of cultural difference in a number of ways , however, despite the crisis of
Emily running away, this results in a number of discriminative and conflicting
problems.
In Perkins One Night The Moon, the first contrast Perkins explores is Jim and Alberts
attitudes towards the land. The contrast between the two characters is explored
through the catalyst of Emily running away. This recognises the two difference
perspectives on the natural landscape, and contrasts the two different morals and
values that come with each of the characters. Whilst the diverse voices of the white
culture and the Indigenous culture in One Night the Moon rarely engage , the camera
frequently captures the two different perspectives through the use of song and wide
shots, emphasising their differences. Perkins chooses to emphasise Jm and Alberts
relationship with the land by incorporating song and lyrics. Jim s attitude of the land
is recognised by his frequent expression of this land
Essay about The Life Journey of John Steinbeck
The Life Journey of John Steinbeck Every great writer had their own influences,

Tortilla Flat published in 1935. This novel received critical acclaim and won the

workers who were working on a ranch to save up money to buy their own ranch.
This novel centered on themes of loneliness, racism, and the struggle for

The Pros and Cons of the Death Penalty Essay examples
In the world we as people live in violence. Violence has gotten so out of control that
it has affected everyone. The one thing about violence is that it also leads to
crimes. And crimes leads to some people being imprisoned, while others are put on
death row. But if crimes are crimes, what makes them minor or major? Who
decides if they are minor or major? Nowadays minor and major crimes are being
pushed together. For example, someone gets shot and the shooter gets 5 years in
prison. But if someone is raped it cannot be proven and the victim is left suicidal
while the rapist goes about their day. Both are major crimes but one has a sentence

penalty. If it takes a lot of money to make sure that this particular crime was
committed by the right person then so be it. It should not matter whether it takes
another month or so to be accurate with the crime committed. Also Robinson adds
Some experts believe deciding to limit the death penalty will no longer make it a
potential deterrent to criminals (Robinson par. 24). If the death penalty is restricted
then there is no hope of it having an effect on the population a little as time passes.
Robinsons also wrote about how the death penalty should be used:
More discriminate use of the death penalty reserving its use for only highly
aggravated crimes, the worst of the worst will lessen the risk of flawed convictions
and sentences and ensure that those who really deserve to be on death row will be
executed. [There shouldn t be restriction to the death penalty because] ... the capital
punishment system will remain flawed and it is more likely that less deserving or
innocent prisoners will be convicted and put on death row. (Robinson par. 7)
In life there is always going to be something that is flawed with the death penalty.

Examples Of Authority In The Truman Show
One of the first ways of thinking that applies to the Truman Show is Authority .
Everything in Truman s life is constructed by a corporation, led by Christof the
director, whose main intention is to make a profit from his reality show. Authority is
a prevalent theme in the film, and comes to the fore through the distribution of media
in Seahaven which attempts to control its viewers through indoctrination. The media
strives to integrate him by governing his personal thoughts and actions leading him to
a sense of what are right and wrong. For example, his middle school teacher had
restricted his dream of becoming an explorer by making him believe that everything
had already been discovered. Within the corporation, Christof is controlling him and
approaches Truman without any real physical or social engagement but only through
external forces such as the actors. In the Truman Show, the actors are like the hands
of Christof and Truman is being moulded and restrained into their ideal form.
The way in which Truman attempts breaks free of the authority that rules his life is

In this heated argument, the characters, Sylvia and Christof strongly represent both
separate sides of individualistic human belief of morality. Sylvia, who was formerly

production of the Truman Show for Christof s own selfishness. On the other hand,
Christof, who believes he has given Truman a chance to lead a new life apart from
the external unpleasant world. The film requires critical distancing from these media
landscape perceptions and not to be manipulated by it in order to understand the

Ain T YourMama And Fight Song Analysis Throughout the Rock and Roll: Catalyst For Social Change course, students have learned about many different artists, genres, and their songs in Western musical history. More importantly, we ve learned about how those artists and songs have addressed far reaching social issues. For instance, Charley Patton s Tom Rushen Blues addressed racism, and Prince s songs provoked controversy concerning censorship and freedom of speech, as discussed in the previous weeks. However, there are many more songs that could be used as teachers of this wide array of social issues. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Ain t Your Mama is a song set in ABAB form with a strong rhythmic focus that obtained a spot on the US Billboard charts shortly after its release in early 2016 (Billboard Editors). Lopez is also a democrat, but, unlike Rachel Platten, intended for her song to make a strong message from the beginning, and doesn t publically associate it with the Democratic party (Kershaw). The lyrics are constructed from a woman s point of view blatantly telling her man that she s not going to do work for him. The lyrics start off strong by stating, I ain t gon be cooking all day, I ain t your mama; I ain t gon do your laundry, I ain t your mama; I ain t your mama, boy, I ain t your mama When you re gon get your act together? and continues in this fashion throughout the entire duration of the song (Thomas et al). Would medicine be invented so people could live long lives without dying of diseases? These are questions that will never have to be answered because the world evolved into a much bigger and better place. The English changed North Americano matter what the cost was. Some may argue that the English are the ones to blame for King Phillip s War, but that is not the case here. The Indians did not want change and overall, it did not work out real well for them. In this case, the war was brutal on both sides. The Natives did not change their customs as much as the English wanted them to. By not assimilating to European values and customs, the Natives caused the war over hatred of English values and traditions and made the world a dangerous place to live in. Daniel Richter was the author of Facing East from Indian Country and Jill Lepore wrote The Name of War. Lepore made some very interesting points that will be discussed that can make the Natives look like savages, but the English were not angels either. King Phillip s War is one of the most brutal wars in America and there really was not anything good about it. Mistakes were made and history was changed. Richter took a standpoint that focused on the English pushing away the

Good Will InKant s Simony Dilemma The Simony Dilemma applies to anyone who obtained their position illegitimately by bribery, false credentials, lying, inappropriate influence, etc. but does an outstanding job. An example would be if someone was accepted to a prestigious university, but was not honest in their application. Of course this person would be proud and honored to attend such a university, but they would know that they did not truly deserve to be there, even if the excelled at the school. They would always have guilt that they took someone else s spot who may have been more deserving. The perfect obligation to ourselves is suicide as we use it to avoid pain. The perfect obligation to others is promises as we use them to gain advantage. The imperfect obligation to ourselves is our talents as we use our lives for mere enjoyment; we do not give ourselves full respect as moral and rational agent. Southeast Asian Nations( Asean ) Essay INTRODUCTION Southeast Asia consists of ten countries which are largely characterized by their membership within the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). The nations sit in a very important geographical location as the region sits astride key choke points for shipping between the Indian and Pacific Oceans, and as described by Bateman et al, economically and strategically important to the economies of Northeast Asia, the United States, and the emerging maritime powers of Asia . One of the key choke points located between Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore is the Strait of Malacca which was estimated to have 15.2 million barrels of oil pass through the strait a day in 2013. ASEAN was formed in 1967 by its five founding members Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore and Thailand , during a time where the region was described as conflict ridden and akin to the Balkans of the East . It was an era where these nation states had just gained post colonial independence, and the atmosphere was plagued with mutual distrust and uncertainty as the new found governments were still trying to find their footing. In his speech at a United Nations (UN) meeting in 2001, former Secretary General of ASEAN Roldofo Certeza Severino, Jr had labelled Southeast Asia as fractured at the time of ASEAN s founding where each member state was either pre occupied with domestic conflicts or embroiled in some form of territorial dispute with its neighbouring countries. This may have many states fail to voluntarily report the necessary records to the FBI s National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS), especially with respect to people prohibited from possessing guns for mental health reasons. As a result, some individuals known to be dangerous can pass background checks and obtain firearms. An example of a mass shooting that occurred due to a state s failure to report mental health is the Virginia Tech shooting. Seung Hui Cho is a student that

According to Paula S. Rothenberg s Race, Class, and Gender in the United States, it seems as prejudice is practiced both intentionally and unintentionally, whether the person is discriminatory or not. For example, growing up as a child, my friend and I were enrolled in a bilingual studies course during our 5th grade year because we were Hispanics . Although we both coincidentally spoke fluent Spanish, the point of the class was to teach a child to speak English, which happened to be my main language. I believe this example was an unintentional

Different Perspectives OnThe Field Of Policy Essay 1.)Wheelan and Stone present very different perspectives on the field of policy analysis. Describe their perspective using examples from the text. Which perspective do you believe in? Is there a way the two perspectives can co exist? The perspectives that Wheelan and Stone presents that differentiate from the tow is the basis of how they view public policy and its impact on its citizens. Wheelan approaches the public policy realm from an impactful view of society and how institutions are the driving force behind public policy. Wheelan mentions, what any society s major challenges will always have in common is that they fall under the rubric of public policy, meaning that they cannot be addressed satisfactorily by a single individual or by one entrepreneurial firm (Wheelan xxi). I believe what he is saying is that the nature of public policy has become so broad and complex that to address the root cause of the issue would never be solved by an individual, group, or entity. Wheelan instead says that public policy would require communal decisions such as where should a new airport be built? How should we protect ourselves against our external enemies? And what substances can or cannot be dumped in a communal water source? (Wheelan xxii). These questions that as a human society and even a human being, we must tackle as the policy decisions that are proposed and presented, will have major and long lasting impacts on society. Furthermore, Wheelan believes that public policy

I saw my Mother s face again, and felt, for the first time, how the stones of the road she had walked on must have bruised her feet. I saw the moonlit road where my father s brother died. Degenerative Disc Disease(DDD) Degenerative Disc Disease (DDD) Degenerative Disc Disease (DDD) is not a disease as much as it is the normal changes in your spines discs as you age. This can be speed up by other primary issues such as continued trauma from carrying heavy packs on your pack such as going to college, or even more so when carrying 60 pound backpacks on force marches in the military. Spinal discs are soft compressible discs that separate the vertebrae that make up the spine. Baseball Force The picturesabove show something most people are probably familiar with. Especially during this season, baseball is extremely popular, and is one of America s most well liked sports. Two huge components of the game, the pitcher throwing the ball and a batter hitting it, are shown in the two pictures. The picture was taken of two players on the Gonzaga University team, one player pitching the ball and the other player up to bat, at the baseballfield in Patterson Complex. The sport of baseball revolves around the pitcher throwing the ball, and the batter hitting it to a designated spot. The throwing of the ball involves many physical concepts. There is force applied to the ball, and it flies through the air with a certain velocity, and there ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Putting spin on the ball results in a curveball. Jon Drobnis, author of The Physics Behind Baseball, states that air flows swiftly under the ball, causing it to dive when it is thrown with curve. A curveball spins from top to bottom, opposite of a fastball, which spins from bottom to top. The ball is given curve by snapping the wrist as it is thrown (Griesmer, 2014). The air flowing under the ball is caused by the existence of air resistance. Air resistance is also called drag, and it is the forces opposing an object in motion through the air. They act opposite to the direction of the object s velocity, and they depend directly on velocity. The ball flying through the air meets the opposing force of air resistance, which causes air to flow under the ball creating low pressure, and air to flow over the top of the ball creating an area of high pressure. If the ball lacked spin, the air would simply flow around the ball, rather than over it and under it. Throwing a curveball causes the ball to deviate from the straight path of the pitcher to the catcher, and it also causes the ball to drop suddenly before it reaches the batter. As the ball is flying through the air, it deviates slightly from the straight path a fastball would normally take. Although it only deviates from the straight path by a few inches, from the point of view of the batter it looks as if the ball curves about 15 inches from the straight

The Psychology ofNihilism The Psychology of Nihilism Written from the perspective of a struggling writer living in the city of Christiania near Oslo, Norway, Knut Hamsun s Hunger is a semi autobiographical work that reflects upon Hamsun s own struggle as he worked to establish his literary reputation. The reader follows the protagonist as he descends ever deeper into psychological unrest as a result of poverty. Richard Wright s The Man Who Lived Underground offers the same voyeuristic experience for the reader as they observe the life of a man on the lamb for being wrongfully accused of a crime and who takes to city sewers to seek refuge. Daniel s is able to gain access to large amounts of mosey that he otherwise would not had he remained on the surface. This passage allows the reader to observe Daniels psychological unrest as he pastes money to a wall for sport. Wright uses this narrative technique to suggest something different about nihilism in the face of poverty: the negation of something meaningful. For his protagonist it is both wealth and access. Hunger and The Man Who Lived Underground both have the same over arching theme: the psychology of nihilism in the face of poverty. In addition, both texts use stream of consciousness to allow the reader an intimate window into the protagonists minds. However, each text illustrates different messages about poverty and nihilism; Hamsun s text suggests the psychology of nihilism is destructive to oneself while Wright s text suggests the psychology of nihilism is the rejection of meaningful aspects of life. How ELT HasHelped Make English the Global Language How ELT has Helped Make English the Global Language Standardization of English Controversies It is not difficult to determine why English began its rise as the predominant language in the world. Britain, the progenitor of the language, once bragged that the Sun never set on the British Empire. This is true in that the empire stretched to all areas of the globe, and the nation of England had influence beyond just its possessions. Because the conquerors spoke English, many of the citizens learned to at least use a few simple phrases that would allow them to take the better jobs offered by the English. This same scenario has happened since the United States has become the world superpower. In areas such as commerce and science, it is almost non negotiable that a person has to learn English to survive. The global climate dictates that there must be a single language which everyone can turn to as that spoken in a particular discipline. Because of the economic superiority of the United States over the past 50 years, and the fact that the US has also dominated many fields within science, English is spoken by many people around the world. However, it is a second language. The fact is that English is not the preeminent first language. Chinese Mandarin has far more native speakers than any other language in the world (Lovgren, 2004). Of course, just the sheer volume of Chinese make this a certainty, but many of these people still speak English as a second language because

She looked surprised, but I still saw a little sadness in her face. Today there s a fashion show in my planet, but I m not going because I don t have clothes. Also because I m not welcome there. All the girls from my planet are pretty, so they always make fun at me. She was starting to sob. I didn t agree with her so I tried to cheer her up. You re really pretty and you could win any fashion show. She smiled and then said, You think so? When she said that I had the best idea in the world. I nodded thinking about my idea then she asked, What are you thinking of? Wait for me in my room, I ll be back in two hours. I demanded politely. I decided to the twenty four hour mall by myself. Analysis Of OneNight The Moon Perkins makes frequent use of contrast to explore ideas in One Night The Moon. Discuss. In Rachel Perkins film, One Night The Moon, Issues relating to culture and social class are explored through the perspectives of different characters, as they confront a tense and divisive situation. Perkins explores the characters relationship with the outback landscape through a series of emotive songs and structural features, such as camera angles and wide shots. With the use of contrasts, Perkins is able to express the theme of cultural difference in a number of ways , however, despite the crisis of Emily running away, this results in a number of discriminative and conflicting problems. In Perkins One Night The Moon, the first contrast Perkins explores is Jim and Alberts attitudes towards the land. The contrast between the two characters is explored through the catalyst of Emily running away. This recognises the two difference perspectives on the natural landscape, and contrasts the two different morals and values that come with each of the characters. Whilst the diverse voices of the white culture and the Indigenous culture in One Night the Moon rarely engage , the camera frequently captures the two different perspectives through the use of song and wide shots, emphasising their differences. Perkins chooses to emphasise Jm and Alberts relationship with the land by incorporating song and lyrics. Jim s attitude of the land is recognised by his frequent expression of this land

The Pros andCons of the Death Penalty Essay examples In the world we as people live in violence. Violence has gotten so out of control that it has affected everyone. The one thing about violence is that it also leads to crimes. And crimes leads to some people being imprisoned, while others are put on death row. But if crimes are crimes, what makes them minor or major? Who decides if they are minor or major? Nowadays minor and major crimes are being pushed together. For example, someone gets shot and the shooter gets 5 years in prison. But if someone is raped it cannot be proven and the victim is left suicidal while the rapist goes about their day. Both are major crimes but one has a sentence and the other one does not. With this happening in the world it makes me wonder if we as the people... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... 30). The community as a whole should already have what crime gets the death penalty. If it takes a lot of money to make sure that this particular crime was committed by the right person then so be it. It should not matter whether it takes another month or so to be accurate with the crime committed. Also Robinson adds Some experts believe deciding to limit the death penalty will no longer make it a potential deterrent to criminals (Robinson par. 24). If the death penalty is restricted then there is no hope of it having an effect on the population a little as time passes. Robinsons also wrote about how the death penalty should be used: More discriminate use of the death penalty reserving its use for only highly aggravated crimes, the worst of the worst will lessen the risk of flawed convictions and sentences and ensure that those who really deserve to be on death row will be executed. [There shouldn t be restriction to the death penalty because] ... the capital punishment system will remain flawed and it is more likely that less deserving or innocent prisoners will be convicted and put on death row. (Robinson par. 7) In life there is always going to be something that is flawed with the death penalty. The reason being is because of human error. Human error happens a lot and sometimes it

Practicing for such a little time made it worse, yet this was a whole team that relied on a pitcher. The first game finally came and the game didn t go too well. I realized then that it would take more than physical practice to improve my pitching, because part of it was acquiring

Examples Of AuthorityIn The Truman Show One of the first ways of thinking that applies to the Truman Show is Authority . Everything in Truman s life is constructed by a corporation, led by Christof the director, whose main intention is to make a profit from his reality show. Authority is a prevalent theme in the film, and comes to the fore through the distribution of media in Seahaven which attempts to control its viewers through indoctrination. The media strives to integrate him by governing his personal thoughts and actions leading him to a sense of what are right and wrong. For example, his middle school teacher had restricted his dream of becoming an explorer by making him believe that everything had already been discovered. Within the corporation, Christof is controlling him and approaches Truman without any real physical or social engagement but only through external forces such as the actors. In the Truman Show, the actors are like the hands of Christof and Truman is being moulded and restrained into their ideal form. The way in which Truman attempts breaks free of the authority that rules his life is by using logic as a tool to take control of his decision ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Sylvia, who was formerly casted on the show, goes against Christof by rejecting his rationality and believes Truman s own decisions and emotions are cast aside in order to pursue with the production of the Truman Show for Christof s own selfishness. On the other hand, Christof, who believes he has given Truman a chance to lead a new life apart from the external unpleasant world. The film requires critical distancing from these media landscape perceptions and not to be manipulated by it in order to understand the meaning of morality in this
