challenge that extends beyond the typical academic writing endeavor. The intricacy lies not only
in the technical aspects of composition but also in the nuanced understanding of the diverse
elements that contribute to a compelling college entrance essay.
To commence, one must grapple with the task of selecting appropriate examples that not only
showcase individual prowess but also resonate with the unique requirements of the college
admissions process. It demands a delicate balance between personal anecdotes, academic
achievements, and extracurricular involvement. The challenge intensifies when attempting to
align these examples with the expectations and values of various institutions, each possessing its
own distinct ethos.
Moreover, navigating the fine line between self-promotion and genuine self-reflection is a
constant tightrope walk. Striking the right chord to demonstrate competence without veering into
arrogance is a delicate dance. The essay must provide insight into one's character, aspirations,
and potential contributions to the academic community, all while maintaining authenticity and
sincerity.
The difficulty further heightens when considering the sheer volume of competitors vying for
coveted spots in prestigious institutions. Crafting a narrative that stands out amidst a sea of

Cough In The Commonplace
Almost every commonplace scenario has a polite phrase that goes alongside it.
When someone sneezes, a scattered symphony of bless you s follows soon
afterward. When you receive a gift of kindness, it is appropriate to respond with a
thank you . When accepting another s gratitude, it is typical to say, You re
welcome . But what do you say when someone coughs? By normal people s
standards, the answer to that question is nothing at all. After a person coughs, not a
single word is uttered, leaving an empty silence which desires to be filled with
something. A while back in middle school, it was this palpable feeling of emptiness
which drove me to ponder the nature of this situation. How could there be no phrase
to respond to a cough? I

Leadership
Leadership Critique
Transactional and Transforamtional Theories:
Introduction
Several theories have been made and discussed and more are being put forward
explaining the effectiveness of leadership. As described by Weihrich et al (2008)
Leadership is perhaps one of the most important aspects of management. The most
noticeable and proposed leadership theories are Transformational and Transactional
Leadership theories, and since it has been formulated by Bass (1985) it attracted
many experts and still has some issues and limitations that have been recognized.
Being interested in those two theories and relating them to my personal experience
and perspective, will go through the major discussions read and critiques made to
compare and contrast the values of both theories.

Burns (1978) defined a transformational leader as one who raises the followers
level of consciousness about the importance and values of desired outcomes and the
methods of reaching those outcomes (p.141). According to Warrillow (2012)
Transformational leadership theory is all about leadership that creates positive
change in the followers whereby they take care of each other s interests and act in
the interests of the group as whole. By providing inspirational motivation to
followers, it develops a less stressful environment and inspires them by taking
individual responsibilities, challenges and positive view for the goals to achieve. It
was described by Bass Riggio (2006) Enthusiasm and optimism are key characteristics
of inspirational motivation. Transformational leadership major focus is to provide
coaching, individual attention and personal assistance to fulfill their needs and

The Taming Of The Shrew
The Taming of the Shrew is a comedy/love story written by Shakespeare between
1590 and 1592. However, in the current era with new beliefs of men and women s
roles, The Taming of The Shrew is seen as pure misogyny. The plot of the play
follows the idea that Bianca, the youngest daughter, is a beautiful young girl with
lots of male attention and is eager to wed, though her wealthy father will not allow
it until her older hot tempered sister also has a suitor. Many modern films has been
made on this famous Shakespearean play, including; Taming of the Shrew directed
by Franco Zeffirelli, 1967. The film is a filmic rendering of the play. 10 things I hate

looking for money. As he goes to Katerina s home to ask Baptista for her hand in
marriage, one of the most important settlements Petruchio wants to agree on is the
dowry he receives from the marriage. At first Katerina is completely against the
marriage and attempts to say no at the wedding although he kisses her before she
can speak. At Bianca s wedding, Katerina claims, ...Thy husband is thy lord, thy
life, thy keeper, Thy head, thy sovereign; one that cares for thee... And when she is
froward, peevish, sullen, sour and not obedient to his honest will, What is she but
a foul contending rebel? She does this to describe a woman s role. This shows,
despite the starvation, sleep deprivation, and overall mistreatment Petruchio gives
to Katerina, she is eventually tamed by him and becomes submissive to his
misogynistic views. Kat from 10 Things I Hate About You, is an independent,
likable and head strong girl who cannot stand misogyny or sexism. In the first

Effects Of Parental Investment On Children
Parental investment includes any investment by the parent in an individual offspring
that increases the offspring s chances of survival, at the cost of the parent s ability to
invest in other offspring (Travier, 1972). Since investing on themselves is as
important as investing on their children, parents have to choose between caring for a
child and acquiring the resources needed to insure their own productive and
reproductive successes (Turner McAndrew, 2006). This choice can be influenced by
the social, cultural and economic factors at householdlevel, and by socio demographic
factors at individual level. These factors may vary from culture to culture and
overtime. However, the following variables are the most frequently cited
determinants of parental investment on children.
i) Gender; the gender of the parent is the most widely reported determinant of parent`s
willingness to invest on children. This is mentioned across disciplines, from biology
through social anthropology, with similar conclusions but different explanations.
There is consensus that the gender identity of the parent through which income is
received determines how the resources are invested on child welfare. Studies
(Agarwal, 1997; Kabeer, 2000) indicated that income injected into the household
through the mother do more justice to the welfare of children compared to resources
injected through the father. Similarly, an exogenous increase in mothers income has
a larger effect on children`s outcomes than
Positive And Negative Impact Of Triple Bottom Line
The majority of businesses today are focusing on making high profit and being
well known companies. However, in order to be a successful company, other
factors are required. Triple Bottom Line (TBL) has been a goal for many
businesses, non profit organizations, and governments over the past decades
because it promotes sustainability to those fields. It has been introduced to the
world by John Elkington in the mid 1990s in order to measure sustainability in a
business (Slaper Tanya, 2011). Triple Bottom Line or TBL is composed of three
components, which are people, planet, and profit or the 3Ps. To measure that the
company is sustainable or not, we should look at the impact on each category. Hence,

the goal is to collect one billion pounds of unwanted electronics and appliances

collecting two billion pounds of the e waste by 2020 (Zielinski, 2014). Moreover,
the company has been on a 5 year crusade in order to reduce its carbon footprint at

It decades the capability of plant oil as a biolubricant, based on the processing
technology. CP and PP show the suitability of biolubricant in cold weather
conditions. Biolubricant used in industrial machines working at low temperatures
should have low pour point; otherwise waxes of biolubricants will cause in the
machines because of waxes in the biolubricant increase pour point. A poor PP
limits the variety of industrial application of plant oils at low temperatures [27,
28]. MELA (2) has a PP of 15 В°C and a CP of 13 В°C. All the synthesized esters (3
5) have better PPs, in the range of 51 to 73 В°C, and CPs in the range 57 to 70 В°C
(Table 4). Attachment of OLC to synthesis triester (5) has effective in decreasing the
PP and CP to 73 and 70 В°C, respectively. The results showed that the high branching
sites on the LA forms a steric barrier around the molecules and inhibits solidifications,
which resulted in lower PP [29]. FP is a gainful way to determine the volatility,
transportation, fire resistance and storage temperature requirements for biolubricants
base stocks. The FP should be high for safety operation and minimal volatilization at
the maximum temperature. In addition, some demanding industrial applications, such
as an aviation jet engine, the effective biolubricant base stocks range of over
Gymnasts In Gymnastics
Gymnastics is a very difficult sport that takes a lot of commitment. Many children
take on gymnastics at a young age and strive to become Olympic gymnasts by
competing their whole lives, but not a lot of people are able to pursue that dream due
to the challenges that come with being a gymnast. Coaches are currently conditioning
and training their gymnasts at very demanding and advanced levels. Although the
sport has several positive health benefits on the body, it also puts gymnasts at a very
high risk of injury. It is not very common for these injuriesto be severe, however, if
they are not treated properly it is likely for them to lead to chronic pain and even
bone fractures.
One of a gymnasts most common injuries is a stress fracture involving the lower
back. The medical term for this is Spondylosis. The back is a very crucial part of
gymnastics, it is constantly working hard and being used. Amongst gymnasts, the
most common cause of a stress fracture is overuse. However, they can also occur
due to an awkward fall or a fall from a height. Almost everything in gymnastics calls
for a combination of great speed and power which puts any gymnast at high risk of
falling or landing wrong. Whether it s a fall or an awkward landing, the pressure is
being applied to the spine and joints, increasing the chances of injury. Back injuries in
adolescent athletes stem from repetitive stressful body movements, like bending and
twisting that can cause trauma to the spinal column. The
Black Mirror Stereotypes
In class, we watched an episode of Black Mirror that had to deal with a military
system that overrode soldiers views of human beings who the system thought they
were not allowed to live. One of the soldiers had his systems damaged on his first
mission and started to see these people for who they truly were, human beings. The
human side of the system found out and gave him an option to live every day
seeing that he killed humans or continue to kill them and have his memory erased.
There are many scenes in the episode that can relate to many different topics we
covered in class. I will be talking about how three topics that were discussed in class

Primary social categories are things that we notice first about a person such as
race, age, and sex. It is an automatic thing to do to people because we do it without
really knowing it. We classify people s sex by shape, stature, and reproductive
anatomy. We classify people as younger or older by the color of hair and skin ,
whether it is smooth or wrinkled. We use the person s skin color and/or facial
features to determine what race they are. Social categories can cause individuals to
guide their social judgments. The established social categories form has an
influence on our thinking about individuals from other groups. These set up
expectations of individuals in these particular groups that we have categorized.
The scene showed primary social categorization which is seen throughout the
entire episo de. They do not see the roaches as individuals but as a member of the
roach social group even though they are different individually. We can tell the
soldiers go off facial features which tells them if they are a roach or not, like how
facial feature can usually tell you what race a person is if you cannot tell their race
based off the color of skin. There is much research that shows primary social
categorization. The scene does show the primary social categorization that guides
their social judgments. Primary social categorization was seen as automatic when
researchers were measuring brain activity in subjects and saw that it took seconds
to recognize another person s race. This can be because these features are visible
and identifiable. There was a study done for social categorization guiding social
judgments. In that study, it showed that people only pay attention to the race which
was the social information. They also saw that social categories influence people s
perceptions of individuals. This is something that you see in the episode on how the
category of roach overrides any
The Vs. Real Madrid Essay
The issue that is being investigated are between two Spanish football (soccer) teams
which team is ultimately better? Both giants in their own right, Barcelona and Real
Madrid have traded success and feuded for a very long time. Both sets of fans have
fought over which team is better comparing players, stats, style of play, managers,
stadiums, etc.
B)What is your thesis? (this will be different than the Classical model thesis)
Through the giant rivalry where both teams boast world class talent, tactical
managers and large finances behind them, Real Madrid and Barcelona have
established themselves as two of football s biggest clubs.
C)What common ground do you share? (A value both sides agree on)
Both sides come from Spain, a place where football is highly competitive. This
local rivalry is important because there is a ton of psychology that effects players
on the pitch. Every player WANTS to win, there is nothing being held back when
the players go onto the field. Historically, both teams are extremely successful.
Real Madrid and Barcelona have over 20 league titles each, 32 and 22 respectively.
As for the Spanish Cup, Copa del Rey, they are also very triumphant, Real Madrid s
19 wins to Barcelona s 26. This massive success in these local competitions cemented
both teams as the most victorious teams in all of Spain. Europe s biggest competition,
UEFA Champions League, where all the fantastic teams all across Europe compete

Postpartum Depression After Childbirth
Depression is a common problem during and after pregnancy; about thirteen percent
of pregnant women and new mothers have depression (Women s Health, par. 2).
According to the National Institute of Mental Health, postpartum depression is
defined as a mood disorder that can affect women after childbirth (National Institute
of Mental Health, par. 2). Even though the mothers that suffer from postpartum
depression often think it is their fault, postpartum depression can happen to any
mother. This is because it is a disorder that is out of their control, it is common
among many mothers and it is usually caused by a hormonal imbalance.
Depression after childbirth is called postpartum depression. Some women who have
postpartum depression might just think it is the baby blues . Anywhere from forty
to eighty percent of new mothers experience baby blues (BabyCenter Medical
Advisory Board, par. 1). However, baby blues typically go away within a few days
or a week, and the symptoms are not as severe, and do not need treatment.
Symptoms of the baby blues include minor crying spells, trouble sleeping, feeling
overwhelmed, and/or loss of appetite. Postpartum depression symptoms last longer
and are more severe than baby blues, and can begin anytime within the first year
after childbirth (Women s Health, par. 11). However, in some rare cases... Show more

There are also things that can increase the likelihood of a mother getting
depression during and after pregnancy. The factors that can increase your risk of
getting postpartum depression include having a baby at a young age, marriage or

problems with a previous pregnancy or birth, and/or if there is a personal or family
history of depression or other mental illness (Women s Health, par.
Science Of Memory
Tips from the Science of Memory for Studying and for Life is separated into three
subsections that each cover a diverse set of tips. The first subsection covers
organizing, encoding, rehearsing, and retrieving course content. Before you can
initiate memorizing the information you must be organized. To be prepared you
should catch potential errors early on, put the information in a structure that will help
you to comprehend it fluently, and experiment with different organization techniques.
After you are organized and have removed any errors, you can begin memorizing the
information. The best way to memorize is to stay focused, process the information at
an appropriate level, make connections between the content and your life, create

The midterm is coming up fast, and I am excited that I have already completed two
of the four steps for memorizing in Experience Psychology. The first two steps,
organizing and encoding, I have completed as we moved through each session.
Encoding early on is an important step because I was able to introduce each
concept to my brain one by one as it was learned, rather than cramming it all in at
once. That leaves me with two steps to complete before I can complete my test:
Rehearsing and Retrieving. In order to rehearse, or practice, the information I have
learned I first must create the right environment. Where I am studying makes a
large impact on how well I will take in the information (Silver, 2008). I know that I
work best studying off of paper (not a computer screen), being somewhere
comfortable, and that having a familiar sound like a song I know by heart, or a TV
show I ve seen 20 times helps me to block out noise without getting distracted. By
knowing this information about myself I decided that outside in the sun with my ear
buds in would be a perfect place to concentrate for me. I also learned through both
my sources that keeping my brain healthy is important to take in information, so I ve
been getting at least 8 hours of sleep, and waking

The Search For Dominance By Victor Frankenstein
The search for dominance is always evident in the story of Frankenstein, the story
even begins with Victor Frankenstein in the search for strength. Everyone in the story
has some kind of moxie that they can use over the other characters, but the desire for
power takes everyone on a different path. Any time in the story when Victor
Frankensteinneeds to find and regain himself he looks to nature to find it all. Nature
holds a great part of the power that happens in the story, but the creature is also
filled with the crave for prestige as well as Victor. Authority controls the actions of
all the characters in the play whether or not they realize it. In the story whenever
Victor feels like he needs to find himself and gain control of himself he goes out
into the nature to find motivation inside himself. Victor has a knack for using the
nature to his advantage, he uses it to find himself while in the wild, but he also
uses it to create the creature. His drive for success became so great that he went to
make a creature that would make him very influential in the scientific world once he
proved that he could create life with his bare hands. Victor was successful in creating
the creature, but once he had created the creature he was disgusted with his creation
and all his work became an eminent failure. He then proceeded to abandon the
creature because of how hideous it appeared. Little did Victor know that when he
abandoned the creature that he would go on his own hunt. The

India s First Genetic Breeding Program Using The Germ...
Keggfarms was established by Vinod Kapur in the year 1967. It is one of India s
oldest poultry centric organisations, set up with the intent to make essential
contributions to the development of poultry in India. This was made possible by
pioneering India s first Genetic Breeding Program using the germ plasm (pure
breeding stock). Keggfarms was among the first companies, in the developing world
to come up with this with demonstrable results. As a result of Keggfarms
intervention, India could stand as the only country outside the developed world,
which is self sufficient and self reliant in high yielding poultryand is able to compete
favourably with the very best in the world. Therefore, this industry has developed on
the basis of a concept that was pioneered and validated by Keggfarms.
Vinod Kapur says that he started dreaming about establishing a poultry breeding farm
after a deeply thoughtful, but casual conversation with his father in 1963. The facts
that poultry breeding was a pristine and untested genre in India and related to social
concerns were major motivational factors for him. He quit his position at Western
Indian Match Company (WIMCO) to create India s first genetic poultry breeding
farm that he had purchased from Parks Poultry Farm in the United States. Keggfarms
successful experience at genetically breeding poultry in India eventually led the still
protectionist Indian government to mandate that all poultry breeding stocks be bred
in India.

Fraud Cases have Put Earnings Management back in the...
immerman, 1990, Badertscher, 2011, Dechow, 1995, Healy and Wahlen, 1999).
Although earnings management is not a new phenomenon, the emerging of the fraud
cases such as Enron, Lehman Brothers, and other instances of financial fraud have
again put this topic in the spotlight. Emerging concerns over earnings management
have led to new disclosure requirements and the implementation of corporate good
governance codes such as the Sarabanes Oxly Act (SOX), tabaksblat and other
corporate good governance codes to reduce this phenomenon within firms. The role of
financial reporting is to portray the economic position of a firm in a timely and
credible manner. These financial statementsshould serve as a useful information
source for different stakeholders in making economic decisions. For information to be
useful it should be relevant and reliable (accounting book). Because the reported
earnings could affect the decision making of stakeholders or contractual outcomes
which are related to remuneration of managers or debt covenants, managers have
strong incentives to adjust earnings to a desired pre determined level (Watts, 1990) .
Although established accounting standards limit the use of opportunism, the
determinant is that managers have flexibility in choosing the accounting method, and
the existing information asymmetry between them and external stakeholders allows
them to prepare the financial reports to their own advantage. Information asymmetry
is the information advantage
College Students and Sub-culture
Sub cultures are something everyone is a part of in any society they live in.
Everyone lives in some kind of culture; everyone has an ethnic background, a social
standing, possible political, moral, and religious views and each of these items
submits that person into multiple sub groups within their culture. I, myself, am a part
of numerous sub cultures.
Starting with the largest I am a human being; I live and function as a human and not
as an animal or plant. This seems a little farfetched to apply as a sub culture but it is
a proven fact that even some animal groups have communities and cultures of their
own. Also, there are even some humans who choose to live an animalistic lifestyle. In
addition, I am Caucasian or white ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With this being said that means that I am also part of a popular sub culture within
American Universities. Although, U.S. News reported in 2012 that Communication
Studies was not among the top five most popular majors at Troy University.
According to these statistics students whose choses major is Communication Studies
make up less than 7% of the student population (U.S. News). So although I can
identify with many in this sub culture within America I cannot relate with nearly as
many people of this sub culture at Troy University. I can still create relationships with
college students in general despite my major.
There are not many nonverbal factors to analyze for this sub culture but there are
quite a few verbal factors. College students have a language of their own. They know
the struggles of class schedules, club meetings, registration, living on a dime, and
buying books dirt cheap. This verbal code often disconnects college students from
people similar to their age due to the fact that much of the subjects to be spoken about
are quite different. This is not to say that college students cannot communicate with
non college students but they often find it easier to relate to those who understand
their lingo, joys, struggles, and more.
The societal class that college attendees belong to has always had the stigma of
being the haves of society. In recent years; however, many who attend college come

Mede A Classic Tragedy
Medea: a classical tragedy In the greek drama Medea, by Euripides, Jason; Medea s
deceitful husband, decides to marry King Creon s daughter. Jason claims that his
decision to remarry is the best decision for his sons and Medea. His decision
resulted in the tragic deaths of King Creon, his future wife, and his two sons. Medeais
a classic greek play because it contains the following unities required for a classic:
one setting, one day, and one central conflict. Made takes place in one setting, this

say good bye to him (Medea 1). The Tutor comes before Medea thinking he brought
her good news, she ends the conversation by saying, I will. I will. Go back into the
house, and plan your daily work for the children (2). Because the play Medea was
written in a playwright, there is still stage directions for example (the children go into
the house again) (3). Medea surrounds one central conflict, which is Jasonleaving

Dbq Alien And Sedition Act
Given the rights suppressing nature of the Alien and Sedition Acts, there was
naturally a strongly negative response to the passage of the legislation, which
marred then President John Adams reputation in the eyes of the public. The Bill of
Rights bestowed upon people of America the freedom of speech and press in the
first amendment ( Congress shall make no law... abridging the freedom of speech, or
of the press ) in 1791. Yet, only seven years later, in response to the American protest
of the conflict with France, the Alien and Sedition Actswere passed, which have been
called some of the most hotly debated laws in American history (Lynch). The Alien
and Sedition acts were a set of four laws: the Naturalization Act, the Alien Friends

Sedition Act made it illegal to participate in any writing, printing, uttering, or

to the Acts and President Adams did not go unheard. David Brown in Massachusetts
erected a liberty pole proclaiming No Sedition Act, No Alien Bills... downfall to the
Tyrants of America; peace and retirement to the President; Long Live the Vice
President. He was arrested in June 1799 and was given the most severe sentence
imposable under the Alien and Sedition Acts (Stone, 64). Clearly the phrase

Mary Shelley s Use Of The Weather In Frankenstein
Mary Shelley s use of the elements in Frankenstein aid in developing different moods
experienced throughout the novel. Habitually describing details of the existing
weather, she is able to relate it to the emotions of her characters. Whether the
conditions are malevolent or delightful, she never fails to help the reader recognize
the indication of an emotion or incident that will soon occur in the story.Rain is the
foremost component of spring, the season of hope, renewal, and (emotional)
awakening. When the creature notices the amiable warmth and light showers that
satisfy the earth, it is almost as if his feelings go through photosynthesis; they are
boosted instantaneously. Similar to a rebirth, Shelley uses the fresh spring... Show

This shows that meteorological conditions are able to affect a character s thoughts
and alter their feelings. As has been noted, Shelley accentuates the description of
spring to express the hope and renewal bestowed upon the creature by the
exemplifications of the weather. It is common throughout the novel that the existing
weather reflects, and sharply influences, Victor s mood(s). For example, the
atmosphere surrounding the hut is cold and harsh when the creature concludes his
tale and asks Victor to construct his companion. This creates meaning in the text
because much like these inhospitable conditions, Victor s heart is cold blooded and
calloused when it comes to the creature. Shelley s reason behind the freezing cold
temperature is not only to foreshadow Victor s response, but to demonstrate the
absence of color (warmth) and human sentimentality. In similar fashion, the pleasant
weather in the valley of Chamounix is able to alleviate some of the guilt ridden
weight placed upon Victor s shoulders from the outcome of Justine s trial. With clear
skies as their background, the pinnacles of the mountains and graceful flow of the
waterfalls are effective in establishing a sense of fearlessness within Victor; the

using their art. They showed the world, all the thing that people were going through
that others didn t know. John used his great talent as a writer taught and explained to
other people things that were happening during those times.
John Steinbeck was born on February 27, 1903, in Salinas, California. He was the
second of four children. His mother was Olive Hamilton who was a former teacher
and his father was John Ernst Steinbeck the treasurer of Monterey County. His
family was middle class. His mother taught him to love reading and writing when
he was little. In his summers John worked as a farm hand on the nearby Spreckels
sugar beet farm. John graduated from high school in 1919 and he attended
Stanford University. After study for some years, he decided to drop out college
and started to work as a manual labor. In November 1925 he decided to move to
New York City where he worked as a construction worker and a newspaper reporter.
In there he only lived for a year and then he returned back to California. He started
to write books and by 1929 he published his first book called Cup of Gold. His first
book was about Henry Morgan an adventurous pirate. In October 1929 just two
months after John published his first book, Great Depression occurred. John met
Carol Henning whom he married on January 14, 1930. He continues writing and he

construction industry growth rate is declining. Further it can be said that,
Exponential smoothing is the relatively accurate method of forecasting as compared

Similar passages can also be seen in the earlier version of the text translated by
Xuanzang, which also specifies the Buddha s promise of freeing a nation from
disasters. Although other earlier versions generally correspond to Yijing s text, the
latter includes many detailed descriptions of the Buddha, which may be the main
reason that Zhongzong desired the text to be retranslated. Notably, as the scriptural
statement of granting of amnesty to criminals, Zhongzong offered the general
amnesties many times, especially during his second reign. In 709, he further
announced an amnesty for those who were exiled and banished to return home.
Although he attempted to be a benevolent king, his political career was unsuccessful.

How Agoraphobia Is A Difficult Mental Illness
Agoraphobia is a difficult mental illness to treat due to the fact that there is an
insignificant amount of people who have been diagnosed within the United States.
According to the Mental Health First Aid USA (2013) roughly 0.9 American
adults are diagnosed with agoraphobia and the median age of onset is twenty years
old (p. 41). People who have agoraphobia have a higher risk of developing
substance use disorders by using drugs or alcohol to help them cope with anxiety.
In the twins case, they are heavy cigarette smokers and it has to be monitored how
many packs of cigarettes they are given a week. From research, there are no reports
of concerns with diversity, oppression, or populations at risk of individuals diagnosed
with agoraphobia.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Historically in the social work profession, there have not been many well known
cases of clients with agoraphobia and little policies related to the diagnosis.
Essentially the twins mental illness makes it difficult to get them everything they
need. To improve their way of life relies on their motivation and willingness for
change.
Planning and Intervention When DHR originally got involved with the twins, the
caseworker at the time was hoping that a family member would step in to become
guardian and take the responsibility for helping them with daily tasks. It was
extremely imperative that DHR found someone who would not manipulate or take
advantage of the twins. One niece did come forward and showed sincerity in
wanting the twins to move into her home. She claimed that when she was younger,
they would baby sit her and she wanted to return the favor. After a few months, the
twins moved into her home after the casework deemed it was a suitable place for
them to live. Things appeared to be going well until the niece lost her job and the
twins care began to get overwhelming for her. After a year, the niece went to DHR
and terminated her guardianship over the twins. DHR was able to find a suitable
one bedroom apartment for the twins that was affordable and they have been living
there since. At DHR there was a homemaker, who would grocery shop and get
prescriptions for clients.
Netflix Industry Analysis Paper
The integration of tech and media by Netflix and other streaming services makes
defining this industry challenging. The Global Industry Classification Standard
(GICS) classifies Netflix as a member of the Internet and Direct Marketing Retail
industry (Christian and Spooner, 2017). However, Netflix and similar companies are
operating in a new space that is challenging the status quo of several industries. This
new industry is video streaming. Key players within the video streaming industry
include Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Hulu. The biggest consumers of this service are
Millennials. The industry targets this consumer base because over 80% of

Although, Netflix has dominated the industry for the past decade, its key
competitors have the potential to surpass Netflix. Streaming services like Amazon
Prime and Hulu, also have a strong brand name and brand equity. Although, Netflix
still leads the pack in terms of members, its competitors still have a strong and
growing customer base (Christian and Spooner, 2017). Currently, each streaming
service offers and produces original content. Amazon is nearly doubling its budget
for content (Low, 2016). Also, the growth in technology and e commerce translates
into revenue growth for Netflix s key competitors. Netflix s projected 2016 revenue
was $8.8 billion compared to Amazon s $136.8 billion (Low, 2016). Thus, Netflix
shares many of its key core competencies with its competitors.
One core competency of issue is revenue growth. The continual investment in
premium original content is costly. Netflix is spending more to expand its
streaming services in nearly every country. However, the company s investment in
more original shows is deteriorating its free cash flow. Netflix is currently on the
hook for $14.4 billion in future payments for streaming video programming
(Bloomberg News, 2016). This is nearly double Netflix s revenue for the last 12
Adult Cystic Acne
What is adult cystic acne?
Adult cystic acne is, unfortunately, one of the worst possible forms of acne. Once
thought to be a phenomenon prevalent exclusively among children and adolescents,
cystic acne is fast becoming a more and more frequent affliction experienced by
adults. The only difference between cystic acne and adult cystic acne, therefore, is the
age of the sufferer.
Cystic acne is characterized by large bumps, lesions and severe redness and
inflammation in the affected area. Cystic acne bumps are actual cysts, which can be
described as infected, oily, pus and bacteria filled mounds that form just under the
skin. It can take over different parts of your body, such as your back and shoulders,
but, as with most acne, the face is the most common site of the problem. It can be
quite painful, disfiguring and lead to permanent scarring, which can cause a deep
plunge in your self esteem.
What causes it?
There are several factors that contribute to the onset of cystic acne in adults. The
immediate cause is an overproduction of oil, usually brought on by the hormone
imbalance or overactive glands, which leads to clogged pores. This interferes with
the skin s normal renewal process, rendering it unable to properly dispose of dead
skin cells. This can result in serious bacterial infections that are a precursor to cystic
acne.
Although the problem is largely out of your hands, it can be exacerbated by external
factors, such as:
Heavy use of lotions and beauty creams
Clicktivism Book Report
How Clicktivism Killed the Activist Since it s conception, the resounding sentiment
at the heart of any activist movement has been the desire to have one s voice heard.
The common ambition of activists of every kind has always been to represent the
needs and injustices of the marginalized communities in question, and in doing so, to
bring about change. Margaret Mead, a cultural anthropologist, and an outspoken
feminist once said, never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens
can change the world; indeed it s the only thing that ever has. However, in recent
years, activism has begun to take on a very different form. This once small group of
thoughtful and committed citizens dedicated to justice have multiplied exponentially

Much of the incentive to become an activist is to be a part of a movement; an
integral cog in the changing of history. One indisputable benefit of social media is
its ability to effectively inform millions of people at once; this is infinitely
powerful. The interactive format of social networking invites individuals to educate
themselves on an issue and then to contribute to it, all in under ten minutes. Despite
its efficiency, the detriment of this system is that it perpetuates the idea that the
signing of a change.org petition is all it takes to make a difference. Grassroots
activism and petitioning, while absolutely fundamental parts of the pursuit of social
justice are often only the inciting steps in the lengthy and usually complicated
process of creating lasting change. In 2014, in the wake of the deaths of Michael
Brown, Eric Garner, and Tamir Rice, to name just a few, an international movement
protesting police brutality began with the hashtag #blacklivesmatter. The issue of
racially induced police brutality became a relevant topic of debate in the
presidential election that followed, and protests took place worldwide. This
movement is winning a major battle in the war against racism and much of this
success was owed to its sensational presence on social media. The Black Lives
Matter movement is an example of social networking being an invaluable tool in
spreading
Accounting Regulatory Agencies
ACCOUNTING REGULATORY AGENCIES
Introduction
Accounting standards are needed so that financial statements will fairly and
consistently describe financial performance. Without standards, users of financial
statements would need to learn the accounting rules of each company, and
comparisons between companies would be difficult. Numerous accounting bodies
govern the accounting environment and accommodate the success of a business. The
four main financial governing bodies include the following: Securities and Exchange
Commission (SEC) Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) Governmental
Accounting Standards Board (GASB) International Accounting Standards Board
(IASB) ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While the GASB has jurisdiction over financial reporting by governmental entities,
the FASB establishes rules for private sector accounting. Both boards are
independent, nongovernmental bodies whose members are appointed by the
trustees of the Financial Accounting Foundation (FAF). Before issuing its
standards, the GASB follows the set of due process activities enumerated in its
published rules of procedure. Due process is stringent and is designed to permit a
thorough and open study of financial accounting and reporting issues by the
preparers, auditors, and users of financial reports, in order to encourage broad
public participation in the standards setting process. Significant steps in the process
are announced publicly. The GASB s meetings are open to public observation and a
public record is maintained. One difference between the two organizations is that
the rules of the GASB need not apply to that of FASB. If the GASB had not covered
an accounting topic that the FASB had, then the FASB standards would be used by
the government entities. This sets up kind of like a default so that there are not so
many different rules and possibly double standards. The GASB and the FASB both
have the authority to create rules, with the GASB having the ability

instead of writing as it happened is another example of writing based on memory.
Memories can be true or false but cannot necessary be understood as factual events.
Most of his writings would be classified as folklore rather than history however he
did have standards to his writing. Dobie demanded of historical writing: reality,
vividness, authenticity, and readability.4 Unfortunately, readability may be an area
that truths were distorted in favor of a entertainment or support of a higher Anglo
cause. Yet because history, memory and personal accounts are entertaining, they will
be passed on from each generation. History will continue because of the wide spread
assumption that Texas history is colorful, unique, and expansive field of inquiry,
filled with all sorts of narrative stories that provide good reading for demanding

EMR Compliance Report
Besides the benefits listed previously there were a few other reasons why the
hospital chose to go forward with the EMR. They looked at the options and found
that the best options were either paper or electronic records with all the benefits
being in favor of the electronic method. First of all, this new process will save
money in the long run by making the hospital more efficient and able to treat more
patients than before. On top of that, there was no longer a need for dictation of
medical records which saved the hospital from all of the costs associated with it. All
of this combined with the fact that patients are now better protected from human
legibility, processing errors, and unwanted exposure mean that this project was a wise

As the files were all put into a secure digital system, the security of patient
information reached a level unattainable with physical copies. One benefit that truly
helped everyone was the information had become much more legible. Without
handwritten paperwork, there were no more files that had illegible handwriting. This
put a stop to reader errors and guess work from poor penmanship. This was easier for
the staff and much safer for the patients. Creating, filing, and moving physical files
takes much more time than handling digital files. This meant that the time saved
through this project could now be dedicated to the patients instead. This project also
made phone calls, messages, and time spent waiting for responses unnecessary. With
an electronic system, physicians are now able to e message each other whatever
information is needed for the patient at a much higher speed than could be achieved
with physical
A Brief Look at the Navajo Nation
The times have changed, but the spirit lives on. The Navajo are a Native American
tribe that resides as their own nation in the southwestern part of the United States.
The land consists of desert and mountains, so the Navajo had to learn many skills
to live and adapt with the land. They gathered plants and nuts to eat, hunted
animals for meat, and used the skins to keep warm at night as the temperature in
the desert drops to below freezing. As times changed the Navajo adapted their skills
to benefit them. They got herds of goats and sheep and used wool from the sheep
to weave amazing blankets. Today, the Navajo tribe teaches their cultural traditions
and beliefs to their children and followers. They believe nature is sacred and they
give thanks to the animals and plants they use for food. The Navajo passed on their
beliefs that the people emerged into the world to escape a flood in the lower world.
The Navajo also tell many stories to show respect for nature and the spirits and
neglect the ones of being treated unlawfully. The Navajo Nationallows these people to
try and maintain the lifestyle that their ancestors lived, with some modern exceptions.
Most Navajo peoplelive on the reservations, but sadly, they are poverty stricken.
However, it is a place where they are sheltered from a growing society. Due to all of
this, the Navajo s unique traditions and beliefs, along with its prior mistreatment,
justify the formation of their own nation.

Investigation Of A Crime Scene
must take the measurements of the area roped off, and if there is evidence on the
ground or anywhere, that specialist must make a two point measurement, which
means, take two unmovable objects of that area like a door or an outlet and
measure how far they are to the evidence. The sketcher must also draw everything
else in the crime scene in order for the computer in the forensics lab to get the most
accurate measurement. If there is a crime in a small town that doesn t have a
crime scene unit then a detective will have to carry out all these tasks while also
interviewing witnesses and tracking down suspects to solve the crime. For
detectives to get DNA from a person the detective must get a warrant unless they
perform this technique. When detectives are interviewing a suspect but know they
don t have enough evidence to get a warrant for DNA sample the detective can
gather evidence from objects the suspect may have come into contact with in the
interview room. When the detective interviews a suspect they will give the suspect
a glass of water hoping that the suspect will drink out of it and the detective can
then send that glass to the forensics and get the DNA tested that is on the glass and
see if it is a match to the crime. Other methods detectives will use is asking the
suspect to lick an envelope closed or offer the suspect a cigarette and get the DNA of
the cigarette butt. This method of obtaining DNA will stand in court because they did
not obtain the DNA
The Lego Group
The LEGO Group is recently experiencing a problematic phase, which has situated
the organization with a deficit of 1.8 billion DKK. The problems experienced by The
LEGO Group can be attributed to not being able to manage as well as stabilize a
strategic supply chain. Successful SCM is crucial for a manufacturing firm in order
to harmonize the production process and internal information with demand for the
product. When considering the importance of supply chain management,
organizations need to study its effect on other major business processes as well as
how it will influence the organization as a whole. Supply chain management may
directly or indirectly influence major process such as inventory, capital investments,

LEGO purchased a plastic injection molding machine in 1947 to create the plastic
version of LEGO bricks (they were originally wooden), and then expanded to pursue
the idea of a toy system where various toys would be included in a line of related
products. Items such as doll furniture were also developed as LEGO Group looked to
enter different markets. During the 1970 s the foundation of the company s
manufacturing facilities and research and development department were established
to keep the manufacturing methods up to date. A LEGO production plant was opened
in Enfield, Connecticut in the United States. This growth enabled The LEGO Group
to continue expanding their product offering over the decades to eventually land at 6
product segments by 2007: pre school products, creative building, play themes,
licensed products, mindstorm NXT, LEGO Education, and LEGO games. The
consolidated portfolio was meant to reflect the need for more challenging stimulation
as children grow and develop.
Key Problems
This expansion was not well managed and a host of factors developed leading to
the decline in 2004. First was a loss of confidence in the core product, the LEGO
brick, as the company continued to diversify its product portfolio. Significant
forecast errors driven primarily by unpredictable seasonal demand fluctuations led to
inventory issues where LEGO lacked one component or held too many of another in
stock. The global toy
Potassium Trisoxalatoferrate Lab Report
Abstract By using the green salt synthesis, we obtained Introduction When it comes
to using inorganic compounds, such as salts, they contain a complex ion. A complex
ion has a central metal ion, to which is then bonded with a neutral molecule that
forms ligands. In this experiment, potassium trisoxalatoferrate(III) and potassium
ferrioxalate will take part in purifying the product using recrystallization. A pH
titration will be used to analyze the mass percent of potassium and iron, meanwhile,
the oxidation reduction titration will be used in order to figure out the mass percent
oxalate in the finalized purified product. Once the results of the two percentages are
calculated, one must compare them to the theoretical values to indicate... Show more

Product was rinsed/washed with separate 5 mL portions of ice cold ethanol.
Appearance was recorded of the solid and filtrate before liquid was discarded.
Product was dried for 24 hours by being placed in the dark. The mass of the dried
product was determined and percent yield was calculated. Part II: Characterization
of the Green Salt Observing Photoactivity of the Dissolved Complex Ion
Approximately 0.2 g of green salt was transferred in a beaker and dissolved in 50
mL of 1 M H2SO4. One half of the solution was poured in another beaker and
placed in the sunlight, meanwhile, the other half was placed in a cabinet with
complete darkness and isolation. Color of both solutions were obtained after 0, 5,
15, and 30 minutes. Each solution was tested for presence of Fe3+ with adding 2
drops of SCN solution. B. Experimentally Determining Mass% Water Two hot and
dry vials were brought to room temperature. Each vial was weighed on a balance to
the nearest 0.001 g. 0.9xx g was weighed of the green salt into each vial. Each vial
was placed in a 50 mL beaker and initialed with partners names. Samples were heated

Argumentative Essay On Neurofeedback
Neurofeedback is a form of therapeutical biofeedback that utilizes real time
visualization of brain activity. Most commonly, this is done by use of
electroencephalography, or EEG. The purpose of this form of therapy is to train
the brain to manipulate and even change its function. There is a lot of controversy
surrounding this therapy, especially regarding whether it is effective or not. It s a
relatively new concept in the field of neuroscience and there are plenty of
arguments regarding the benefits of it s use and whether or not it can replace
therapeutical medications. My question is whether or not it is effective, and if it is,
how? In order to answer and explore my question on whether or not neurofeedback is
an effective form of therapy,
The Armenian People Of The Armenian Genocide
What is the Armenian Genocide? It is the atrocities committed against the Armenian
people of the Ottoman Empire during W.W.I. The Armenian people were subjected to
deportation, expropriation, abduction, torture, massacre, and starvation. The great
bulk of the Armenian population was forcibly removed from Armeniaand Anatolia to
Syria, where the vast majority was sent into the desert to die of thirst and hunger.
Large numbers of Armenians were methodically massacred throughout the Ottoman
Empire. Women and children were abducted and horribly abused. The entire wealth
of the Armenian people was expropriated. After only a little more than a year of calm
at the end of W.W.I, the atrocities were renewed between 1920 and 1923, and the
remaining Armenians were subjected to further massacres and expulsions. In 1915,
thirty three years before UN Genocide Convention was adopted, the Armenian
Genocide was condemned by the international community as a crime against
humanity.
Atom Yarjanian, better known as Siamanto, was an Armenian poet who was killed by
Ottoman authorities during the Armenian genocide. During his time alive, though, he
had created quite a few memorable poems, one of which was called The Dance. This
poem is about the Armenian genocide, something that Siamanto had witnessed
firsthand. He talks about the horror that a woman had seen, how those who were half
dead danced for those who killed and tortured them. Then someone brought a jug of
kerosene. / Human
Demography s Classic Transition Theory
Demography s classic transition theory furthers the modernization narrative that is
central to this argument. The theory presents a three phase timeline to explain the
reproductive history of all nations. Countries begin in the pre transition phase where
high mortality and high birth rates create slow populationgrowth, which is
considered a traditional society. The second phase is the transition where slowing
mortality rates and high birth rates produce raid population growth. During this stage
birth rate should begin to fall if the country is actively attempting to become a
modern society. In the final stage low birth rates and low mortality rates bring the
population growth back to a slow or stagnant pace, which is a modern society... Show

In contrast, the understanding of factors such as gender to be social constructed and
uniquely situated in cultural contexts enables the political economy theory to explain
how reproduction is constructed differently across time and space. Moreover, the
anthropological foundation of the political economy theory forces such theories to
account for the standard of living in its understanding of positive reproductive
scenarios. A greater understanding of these theories divergent nature occurs when
viewing reproductive systems under both lenses. One reproductive behavior that
appears radically different when compared under both theories is the system of
Birth Spacing in the Congo. Nacy Rose Hunt presents this practice in her article, Le
Bebe en Brousse : European women, African Birth Spacing and Colonial
Intervention in Breast Feeding in the Belgian Congo. Birth spacing was a cultural
practice where women abstained from sexual intercourse for two or three years
while they were breast feeding (Hunt 1988: 404). This practice aided maternal and
infant health and was widely practiced before colonial domination (Hunt 1988: 401).
However, the practice lessened under colonial occupation and created an increase in
population growth. Under the political economy framework the effect of colonialism
and its pro natalist values best explains the
Fatty Acid Composition Of Adipose Tissue And Colorectal...
Fatty acid composition of adipose tissue and colorectal cancer: a case control study
Colorectal cancer is considered as the third most common cancers worldwide that
usually leads to the death of the patient. Studies have proved that lifestyle factors
great influence the development and spread of cancer. Modifying the lifestyle can
reduce the risk of getting colorectal cancer by 70%. It is noted that more
consumption of red and processed meat increase the risk of developing colorectal
cancer. However, high intake of dietary fibers decreases it. On the contrary
epidemiologic studies that connect the fat intake with colorectal cancer are varying
and unreliable. The concentrations of fatty acids in human serum and in the
membranes of red blood cells depict the intake of previous days or weeks.
Conversely, the fatty acid concentration in the adipose tissue truly show the habitual
dietary intake in the previous two to three years. Hence, various studies that aim to
explore the correlation between the concentration of fatty acids and cancer risk use
adipose tissue in this request.
The case study discussed in this paper is conducted in Five University hospitals
located in Northeastern France (Cottet and others 2015). Subcutaneous adipose tissue
samples were acquired from the surgery departments through surgeons. The samples
belonged to the patients who were admitted for elective abdominal surgery. These
patients were recently diagnosed of primary colorectal cancer.

Human Sexuality Essay
Just as other interpersonal themes, sexual themes in film are often depictions of
sexual themes that exist in real life relationships. For this very reason, it is very
easy for a person to compare his relationships with that of a relationship shown in
media or film. Some relationships are total train wrecks from the start while others
are not necessarily ideal, but healthy. Although not seen very often, ideal couples in
film are attributed with characteristics that are seen by society as desirable; youthful,
attractive people who are hyper sexual and affectionate. As clichГ© as it sounds,
sometimes relationships are simply complicated . Such is the case in the film It s
Complicated.
Just as the relationships depicted within the film are ... Show more content on

When Jane and Jake meet up to attend their son s graduation, the two begin to have
an affair. At the same time, she begins to fall in lovewith another man that she is
seeing. Not knowing what she wants, Jane must decide whether she wants to rekindle
her relationship with her ex or move on to the newer man in her life.
There are a few human sexuality themes that I noticed in this film. The first and
most obvious theme that I noticed is how the film goes against the stereotypes that
media places of sexuality and age. At often times, younger people are seen to have
vibrant sexual relationship. The thing that I can admire about this film is that it
shows sex between older people. Most people have misconceptions that when
people achieve a certain age, they no longer have sex. This stereotype is not true.
People who are in their 50 s and up can still have very healthy active sex lives. This
stereotype was something that the characters in the film seemed to struggle with.
Both Jane and Jake were trying to fight the aging to seem more physically
attractive. For example, Jane considered getting a facelift to compete with her ex s
young wife. Jane also seemed to be very influenced by her friend s ideas on love
and sex; their perspective seemed to alter her perspective. In the beginning, she was
very conflicted in expressing her sexuality. She dealt with this struggle by
succumbing to what they believed she needed to do in her own sex life.
The second theme that I recognized
Alexander Hamilton Federalist
The Federalist Alexander Hamilton was born in the British West Indies. Hamilton
grew into poverty while developing his educated life. When Hamilton was a young
adult, he fled to New York and attended Kings College. He soon became an aide for
General George Washington during the American Revolutionary War. Once George
Washington was selected the First President of the United Statesof America,
Washington had a close relationship with Hamilton and he elected Hamilton to be
the Secretary of Treasury. In 1789, America had a tremendous debt, but Hamilton
quickly thought of a financial plan. He had a vision for America and a political view
of the constitution. Once Hamilton grew into the political life he became a member
of the Federalist... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He decided to use a tariff. A tariff was a tax on imported goods (McDougal Littell,
296) Many Americans were outraged because they got supplies from traded goods
and they would be taxed when they should not be. In the Articles of Confederation,
there is a section that provides information about taxing the Americans. In Article
1; Section 8 it states The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes, duties
and excises to pay the debts... (McDougal Littell, 253). It was approved to tax the
states to pay debts. The Articles of Confederation was used to confirm that the 13
states had more power than the government. This was confirmed because before
the Revolutionary War, Britain took control of the 13 states and the states were
treated very poorly. King James was a cause of religious persecution. Also, the
colonist (Americans) did not have any rights of freedom. Hamilton had a vision for
America. He wanted a successful nation. As growing up in Britain, Britain
assembled factories and manufactures. Hamilton requested America to build
factories. Hamilton did have a political view for the constitution. Since he was a
federalist he believed that the government deserved more power. He admired to
have the powers separated and have one person in charge. This can connect back to
Thomas Hobbes philosophy ...or that he cannot be content with a moderate power.
(Thomas Hobbes) Thomas Hobbes implies that no power shall be shared. The states
will only have certain powers. The states will still have rights, but not all of the rights.
Hamilton stands strong in
International and Commercial Risks
International Commercial Risks April 1, 2013 International Commercial Risks
Business is continually growing on a global level leading to international business
partnerships, agreements, and trades. During these types of business relationships
disputes are common (University of Phoenix, n.d.). If a dispute occurs one party may
chooses to take legal action against the other party. Making the decision to take legal
action businesses must make considerations prior to proceeding. Making the right
decisions can build a strong relationship between parties. Considerations to take
include contracts, local law, and local customs and culture. Steps may be taken to
minimize risks in international business agreements as well. The first... Show more

The decision reached through binding arbitration cannot be appealed unless
according to Repa (2013), a fraud or misuse of power has taken place (Binding
Versus Nonbinding Arbitration). Nonbinding arbitration allows an appeal to be
filed by one or both parties. A trial may be requested in this case. In addition to
contract considerations one should be aware of local culture and local laws
involved. In the case of the CadMex simulation, provided by the University of
Phoenix, culture was brought to attention in considering legal matters based on
male employees who refused to shave their facial hair based on a religious practice
for the time frame of one week. The company policy clearly stated that employees
facial hair is to be clean shaven. CadMex suspended the employees based on
breach of contract for company policy. The employees filed a lawsuit. CadMex
should consider the local culture in this scenario. In considering the local culture
CadMex can consider making accommodations to the employees in order to build a
better business relationship within the country of Candorea so long as the
accommodations are not too burdensome. CadMex s best option to satisfy all parties
involved is to revoke the suspension. Providing accommodations does not have to be
overly burdensome to CadMex. One accommodation is to provide hairnets to the
selected employees during the time the employees are observing the religious belief

  • 2. Cough In The Commonplace Almost every commonplace scenario has a polite phrase that goes alongside it. When someone sneezes, a scattered symphony of bless you s follows soon afterward. When you receive a gift of kindness, it is appropriate to respond with a thank you . When accepting another s gratitude, it is typical to say, You re welcome . But what do you say when someone coughs? By normal people s standards, the answer to that question is nothing at all. After a person coughs, not a single word is uttered, leaving an empty silence which desires to be filled with something. However, in the current era with new beliefs of men and women s roles, The Taming of The Shrew is seen as pure misogyny. • 7. Effects Of Parental Investment On Children Parental investment includes any investment by the parent in an individual offspring that increases the offspring s chances of survival, at the cost of the parent s ability to invest in other offspring (Travier, 1972). Since investing on themselves is as important as investing on their children, parents have to choose between caring for a child and acquiring the resources needed to insure their own productive and reproductive successes (Turner McAndrew, 2006). This choice can be influenced by the social, cultural and economic factors at householdlevel, and by socio demographic factors at individual level. These factors may vary from culture to culture and overtime. However, the following variables are the most frequently cited determinants of parental investment on children. i) Gender; the gender of the parent is the most widely reported determinant of parent`s willingness to invest on children. This is mentioned across disciplines, from biology through social anthropology, with similar conclusions but different explanations. There is consensus that the gender identity of the parent through which income is received determines how the resources are invested on child welfare. Studies (Agarwal, 1997; Kabeer, 2000) indicated that income injected into the household through the mother do more justice to the welfare of children compared to resources injected through the father. Similarly, an exogenous increase in mothers income has a larger effect on children`s outcomes than

Triple Bottom Line or TBL is composed of three components, which are people, planet, and profit or the 3Ps. To measure that the company is sustainable or not, we should look at the impact on each category. A poor PP limits the variety of industrial application of plant oils at low temperatures [27, 28]. MELA (2) has a PP of 15 В°C and a CP of 13 В°C. All the synthesized esters (3 5) have better PPs, in the range of 51 to 73 В°C, and CPs in the range 57 to 70 В°C (Table 4). Attachment of OLC to synthesis triester (5) has effective in decreasing the PP and CP to 73 and 70 В°C, respectively. The results showed that the high branching sites on the LA forms a steric barrier around the molecules and inhibits solidifications, which resulted in lower PP [29]. • 10. Gymnasts In Gymnastics Gymnastics is a very difficult sport that takes a lot of commitment. Many children take on gymnastics at a young age and strive to become Olympic gymnasts by competing their whole lives, but not a lot of people are able to pursue that dream due to the challenges that come with being a gymnast. Coaches are currently conditioning and training their gymnasts at very demanding and advanced levels. Although the sport has several positive health benefits on the body, it also puts gymnasts at a very high risk of injury. It is not very common for these injuriesto be severe, however, if they are not treated properly it is likely for them to lead to chronic pain and even bone fractures. One of a gymnasts most common injuries is a stress fracture involving the lower back. The medical term for this is Spondylosis. The back is a very crucial part of gymnastics, it is constantly working hard and being used. Amongst gymnasts, the most common cause of a stress fracture is overuse. However, they can also occur due to an awkward fall or a fall from a height. Almost everything in gymnastics calls for a combination of great speed and power which puts any gymnast at high risk of falling or landing wrong. Whether it s a fall or an awkward landing, the pressure is being applied to the spine and joints, increasing the chances of injury. Back injuries in adolescent athletes stem from repetitive stressful body movements, like bending and twisting that can cause trauma to the spinal column. The

This was made possible by pioneering India s first Genetic Breeding Program using the germ plasm (pure breeding stock). Keggfarms was among the first companies, in the developing world to come up with this with demonstrable results. As a result of Keggfarms intervention, India could stand as the only country outside the developed world, which is self sufficient and self reliant in high yielding poultryand is able to compete favourably with the very best in the world. Therefore, this industry has developed on the basis of a concept that was pioneered and validated by Keggfarms. Vinod Kapur says that he started dreaming about establishing a poultry breeding farm after a deeply thoughtful, but casual conversation with his father in 1963. The facts that poultry breeding was a pristine and untested genre in India and related to social concerns were major motivational factors for him. He quit his position at Western Indian Match Company (WIMCO) to create India s first genetic poultry breeding farm that he had purchased from Parks Poultry Farm in the United States. Keggfarms successful experience at genetically breeding poultry in India eventually led the still protectionist Indian government to mandate that all poultry breeding stocks be bred in India. Although earnings management is not a new phenomenon, the emerging of the fraud cases such as Enron, Lehman Brothers, and other instances of financial fraud have again put this topic in the spotlight. Emerging concerns over earnings management have led to new disclosure requirements and the implementation of corporate good governance codes such as the Sarabanes Oxly Act (SOX), tabaksblat and other corporate good governance codes to reduce this phenomenon within firms. The role of financial reporting is to portray the economic position of a firm in a timely and credible manner. These financial statementsshould serve as a useful information source for different stakeholders in making economic decisions. For information to be useful it should be relevant and reliable (accounting book). Because the reported earnings could affect the decision making of stakeholders or contractual outcomes which are related to remuneration of managers or debt covenants, managers have strong incentives to adjust earnings to a desired pre determined level (Watts, 1990) . Although established accounting standards limit the use of opportunism, the determinant is that managers have flexibility in choosing the accounting method, and the existing information asymmetry between them and external stakeholders allows them to prepare the financial reports to their own advantage. While in the groove, the nerve is covered superficially by the lateral head of the triceps brachii towards which it is sending branches for innervation. The nerve continues along the groove on route to the epicondyle of the lateral elbow where it divides into a superficial branch which follows the lateral edge of the radius terminating in the dorsolateral skin of the hand, and a deep branch running posteriorly to innervate the forearm s extensor muscles at its termination. Injury to the radial nerve may result in trouble extending the arm, trouble extending the wrist, also called wrist drop , and weakness in hand

Notably, as the scriptural statement of granting of amnesty to criminals, Zhongzong offered the general amnesties many times, especially during his second reign. How Agoraphobia Is A Difficult Mental Illness Agoraphobia is a difficult mental illness to treat due to the fact that there is an insignificant amount of people who have been diagnosed within the United States. According to the Mental Health First Aid USA (2013) roughly 0.9 American adults are diagnosed with agoraphobia and the median age of onset is twenty years old (p. 41). People who have agoraphobia have a higher risk of developing substance use disorders by using drugs or alcohol to help them cope with anxiety. Essentially the twins mental illness makes it difficult to get them everything they need. To improve their way of life relies on their motivation and willingness for change. Planning and Intervention When DHR originally got involved with the twins, the caseworker at the time was hoping that a family member would step in to become guardian and take the responsibility for helping them with daily tasks. It was extremely imperative that DHR found someone who would not manipulate or take advantage of the twins. One niece did come forward and showed sincerity in wanting the twins to move into her home. She claimed that when she was younger, they would baby sit her and she wanted to return the favor. After a few months, the twins moved into her home after the casework deemed it was a suitable place for them to live. Things appeared to be going well until the niece lost her job and the twins care began to get overwhelming for her. After a year, the niece went to DHR and terminated her guardianship over the twins. DHR was able to find a suitable one bedroom apartment for the twins that was affordable and they have been living there since. At DHR there was a homemaker, who would grocery shop and get prescriptions for clients.

Once thought to be a phenomenon prevalent exclusively among children and adolescents, cystic acne is fast becoming a more and more frequent affliction experienced by adults. The only difference between cystic acne and adult cystic acne, therefore, is the age of the sufferer. Cystic acne is characterized by large bumps, lesions and severe redness and inflammation in the affected area. Cystic acne bumps are actual cysts, which can be described as infected, oily, pus and bacteria filled mounds that form just under the skin. It can take over different parts of your body, such as your back and shoulders, but, as with most acne, the face is the most common site of the problem. It can be quite painful, disfiguring and lead to permanent scarring, which can cause a deep plunge in your self esteem. What causes it? There are several factors that contribute to the onset of cystic acne in adults. The immediate cause is an overproduction of oil, usually brought on by the hormone imbalance or overactive glands, which leads to clogged pores. This interferes with the skin s normal renewal process, rendering it unable to properly dispose of dead skin cells. This can result in serious bacterial infections that are a precursor to cystic acne. Although the problem is largely out of your hands, it can be exacerbated by external factors, such as: Heavy use of lotions and beauty creams

The common ambition of activists of every kind has always been to represent the needs and injustices of the marginalized communities in question, and in doing so, to bring about change. Margaret Mead, a cultural anthropologist, and an outspoken feminist once said, never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed it s the only thing that ever has. One indisputable benefit of social media is its ability to effectively inform millions of people at once; this is infinitely powerful. The interactive format of social networking invites individuals to educate themselves on an issue and then to contribute to it, all in under ten minutes. Despite its efficiency, the detriment of this system is that it perpetuates the idea that the signing of a change.org petition is all it takes to make a difference. Grassroots activism and petitioning, while absolutely fundamental parts of the pursuit of social justice are often only the inciting steps in the lengthy and usually complicated process of creating lasting change. In 2014, in the wake of the deaths of Michael Brown, Eric Garner, and Tamir Rice, to name just a few, an international movement protesting police brutality began with the hashtag #blacklivesmatter. The issue of racially induced police brutality became a relevant topic of debate in the presidential election that followed, and protests took place worldwide. This movement is winning a major battle in the war against racism and much of this success was owed to its sensational presence on social media. The Black Lives Matter movement is an example of social networking being an invaluable tool in spreading

The four main financial governing bodies include the following: Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... While the GASB has jurisdiction over financial reporting by governmental entities, the FASB establishes rules for private sector accounting. Both boards are independent, nongovernmental bodies whose members are appointed by the trustees of the Financial Accounting Foundation (FAF). Due process is stringent and is designed to permit a thorough and open study of financial accounting and reporting issues by the preparers, auditors, and users of financial reports, in order to encourage broad public participation in the standards setting process. Significant steps in the process are announced publicly. The GASB s meetings are open to public observation and a public record is maintained. One difference between the two organizations is that the rules of the GASB need not apply to that of FASB. If the GASB had not covered an accounting topic that the FASB had, then the FASB standards would be used by the government entities. The Armenian people were subjected to deportation, expropriation, abduction, torture, massacre, and starvation. Large numbers of Armenians were methodically massacred throughout the Ottoman Empire. Women and children were abducted and horribly abused. The entire wealth of the Armenian people was expropriated. After only a little more than a year of calm at the end of W.W.I, the atrocities were renewed between 1920 and 1923, and the remaining Armenians were subjected to further massacres and expulsions. Studies have proved that lifestyle factors great influence the development and spread of cancer. Modifying the lifestyle can reduce the risk of getting colorectal cancer by 70%. It is noted that more consumption of red and processed meat increase the risk of developing colorectal cancer. However, high intake of dietary fibers decreases it. On the contrary epidemiologic studies that connect the fat intake with colorectal cancer are varying and unreliable. The concentrations of fatty acids in human serum and in the membranes of red blood cells depict the intake of previous days or weeks. There are a few human sexuality themes that I noticed in this film. The first and most obvious theme that I noticed is how the film goes against the stereotypes that media places of sexuality and age. At often times, younger people are seen to have vibrant sexual relationship. The thing that I can admire about this film is that it shows sex between older people. Most people have misconceptions that when people achieve a certain age, they no longer have sex. This stereotype is not true. People who are in their 50 s and up can still have very healthy active sex lives. This stereotype was something that the characters in the film seemed to struggle with. Both Jane and Jake were trying to fight the aging to seem more physically attractive. For example, Jane considered getting a facelift to compete with her ex s young wife. Jane also seemed to be very influenced by her friend s ideas on love and sex; their perspective seemed to alter her perspective. In the beginning, she was very conflicted in expressing her sexuality. She dealt with this struggle by succumbing to what they believed she needed to do in her own sex life. The second theme that I recognized
