    heretic”
 Charles V issues Edict of Worms – declaring Luther an
   outlaw and heretic
 Frederick the Wise – German prince of Saxony,
  protects Luther in his castle for the first year after
  the Diet of Worms
     Spends the year translating the New Testament into
