 The CPCB is a multi-disciplinary technical organization of Ministry of
Environment & Forest (MoEF) plays the role of an advisor and
coordinator of the State Boards.
 Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) has been originally created
under Section 3 of the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution)
Act, 1974 with the main function to promote cleanliness of streams
and wells in the different areas of the States.
