2. Name the cell organelles that you
can identify in the picture….

3. 1. NUCLEUS:
 It control all the chemical reactions of
cell.
 It is called CONTROL CENTRE of cell.
 Chromosomes are found here.

4. 2. CHROMOSOMES:
 Thread like structures.
 Store chemical instructions needed to
build the cell.
 Chromosomes are passed down from
one generation to another.
 They are responsible for inherited
character of an organism.

5. 3. CYTOPLASM:
 Jelly-like substance.
 Contain many tiny structures.
 All chemical reactions take place here.
 New substances are made and energy
is being released or stored.
 It completely fills the cell.

6. 4. VACUOLES:
In animal cell:
 Tiny spaces containing air, liquid or
food particles.
 Found in cytoplasm.
 Small and numerous.
In plant cell:
 Large and form the biggest part of
plant cell.
 It reduce the cytoplasm to a thin
line.
 In every plant there is 1 vacuole
filled with cell sap.

7. 5. CELL MEMBRANE:
 Tiny, partially permeable layer.
 It controls the movement of materials in
and out of cell.
 It allow only certain materials to pass
through it.

8. 6. CHLOROPLAST:
 Tiny, disc-like structures.
 Contains green substance- CHLOROPHYLL.
 Chlorophyll absorbs energy from the sun and
make food through the process of
Photosynthesis.

9. 8. STARCH GRAIN:
 Plants store food in the form of starch
grain.

10. 7. CELL SAP:
 Liquid containing dissolved substances
such as sugar and salt.
 It keeps the cell firm by taking in water.
 If the cell sap loses its water the plant
will wilt.

11. 9. CELL WALL:
 It is made up of cellulose.
 Functions: support, give regular
shape, hold it together with other
cells.
