Ester: I have planned our visit to Arezzo. So we can make a surprise for our
little baby.
Aytor: Are you kidding? It will cost a fortune and why are we going there?
Esther: Ohh! You forgot. Her birthday is on the 25th
of April and it will be a nice
surprise.
Aytor: We can send her a present instead.
Ester: No, no. I want to be there. If you don’t come, I will go alone.
Aytor: So tell me about tickets.
Ester: Yes, our flight is on the 23rd
of April, I have made a reservation for our
tickets.

Eid Al-Fitr
Nowadays we are celebrating Eid Al-Fitr. Muslim people celebrate “Eid Al-Fitr”
after Ramadan and it falls on the first day of Shawwal. And the date changes
every year. In Ramadan some of the Muslims have a strict fast, we don’t eat or
drink anything during the day time and the fast lasts 30 days and after that we
celebrate “Eid Al-Fitr” for three days. We visit our parents and relatives. Also
older people give some money to the children. Also children visit the houses
and collect some candies and chocolate.
Maddona Del Conforto
Every year in Arezzo people celebrate Maddona Del Conforto on 15th
February.
They go to the Cathedral to pray. They also visit the Chapel inside the
Cathedral where the small image of Maddona Del Conforto is kept. Before they
get into the Cathedral, people buy candles and they pray. There is a legend
about the image of Maddona Del Conforto. It says that in 18th
century, there
were some earthquakes in Arezzo. The image was in a tavern, it was dark and
dirty. But suddenly it began to shine and everybody thought it was a miracle and

after that the earthquakes in town stopped.

Alicia: Hello, I want to buy some clothes for my niece and nephew.
Salesman: Yes, how old are they?
Alicia: They are 8 and 10.
Salesman: That’s good! What would you like to buy? What kind of clothes?
Alicia: Well, a pullover and trousers for my nephew; and a dress and a pair of
shoes for my 8 year old niece.
Salesman: Yes, sure. What about these dresses?
Alicia: Well, I like the pink one, but it looks a bit small.
Salesman: Ok, what about this, it is bigger.
Alicia: Yes, that’s perfect and a black pair of shoes for her.
Salesman: Yes, what size?
Alicia: I think 32.
Salesman: Here you are.
Alicia: Yes, they look really nice. I want the one with a ribbon.
Salesman: So let’s look for some trousers and a pullover. Which colour would
you like?
Alicia: Black trousers and a red pullover, please.
Salesman: Well, here you are!
Alicia: Yes, they are perfect. So how much altogether?
Salesman: The trousers are 95€, the pullover is 30€, the dress is 40€ and the
red shoes are 55€. So 220 € all.
Alicia: Thank you so much, here you are !

There is a legend about the image of Maddona Del Conforto. It says that in 18th century, there were some earthquakes in Arezzo. The image was in a tavern, it was dark and dirty.
