Aims
Educational: To discuss with students about holidays, traditions
and customs of Great Britain, to work with lexical material. To
application of knowledge in practice, handling existing potential
in a particular situation, fixing ability and skills monologues.
 Developing: To enrich the students’ vocabulary, to enrich the
students’ speech practice, way of thinking, to practice their
identifying accents. To develop of oral communication skills. To
format of flexible and variable abilities to speak, to develop of
comprehension skills of foreign speech at the hearing.
 Bringing up: To get interested in the language, to bring up
students to love and respect their parents. Promoting respect for
language skills actively and productively work in a team. To
develop the ability to work individually, in pairs, in the
collective development of the cognitive interest in the culture of
another country, strengthening the ability to observe, compare,
to develop of creative abilities.

 Christmas celebrates on December 25th.
 People in the United Kingdom United States and Canada
decorate their homes with Christmas trees. City streets are

presents they would like to get. People send Christmas cards
to relatives and friends.
 A Christmas tree is one of the main symbols of Christmas in
most homes. Presents are placed under the tree. On
Christmas Eve or Christmas morning, families open their
presents.
 Many children believe that Santa Claus arrives on Christmas
Eve and brings presents.
 A traditional Christmas dinner consists of stuffed turkey,
mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce and a variety of other
dishes. Some families have ham or roast goose instead of
turkey. Pumpkin pie, plum pudding, and fruitcake are
favorite desserts.

and propose marriage.  Flowers and candy are
favorite presents.

small heart-shaped card. It is often colored red, has
red trimmings and pictures of hearts. It is put into
the postbox of that person whom you like.
 The day is the time to send little gifts to those you
love. Flowers and candy are favorite presents which
sweethearts send to each other. Valentine candy is
packed in red heart-shaped boxes and sold for this
one day.
 It is a good day for parties, especially by young
people.
