Summer Art Program
 On the first Sunday in June 7, we will be learning about Pablo Picasso and a
style he created called Cubism. Our young artists will gain an appreciation for
abstract art and experiment with cubism.
 On the second Sunday in June14 (wonder box), we will focus on Emperor
Qin’s Terracotta Army. Our young artists will learn about ancient Chinese
history and spiritual beliefs. They will have the opportunity to sculpt with clay.
 On the third Sunday in June21, we will be focusing on the self-portraits of Frida
Kahlo. We will encourage our young artists to challenge society’s
expectations of beauty. They will be using mirrors to paint or draw their own
self-portraits without hiding features that they feel are flaws.
 On the fourth Sunday in June28 (wonder box), we will be focusing on the
painter Georges Seurat and his innovative style called Pointillism. Our young
artists will have the opportunity to experiment with pointillism and color mixing
techniques. It will also help with the development of fine motor skills.
