Objectives and Key Results (OKR) is a collaborative goal-setting framework. They are used by teams and individuals to set challenging, ambitious goals with measurable outcomes.
For our final project in Managerial Leadership, taught by Professor Harry Kraemer at the Kellogg School of Management, my team relied on primary (survey and interviews) and secondary (books, articles, prior research) sources to determine the benefits of work-life balance, how professionals view it, and what they are doing to implement it in their lives.
We surveyed 200+ Kellogg alums in various life stages and interviewed multiple professionals, from the CEO of Brunner Advertising to the author of Cinderella of Wall Street to gain additional perspective.
Please keep in mind that the survey we conducted was not rigorously designed nor were the respondents heavily screened. It was meant primarily to learn how current professionals are implementing life balance.

Goal Setting using Zig Ziglar's Life WheelGoldie Joe
Motivational tips and goal setting strategies based on Zig Ziglar's Wheel of Life. Specific steps to take to identify your dreams, turn your dreams into goals, and make your goals a reality.
Although we have been using Agile mindset and processes tactically, when it comes to strategy and goal setting the waterfall command&control mindset is still the norm.
Most organizations are still using an annual, waterfall, top-down process to create a static set of goals that conflicts directly with Agile. The process is even called "cascading goals" - you can't get more waterfall than that.

2. Challenge Activity
3. Powerful Words for a Powerful Vocabulary
4. Successories
I. Reading: Why Set Goals?
Why set goals? Having a clear direction for your future and a picture of what you plan to do is
extremely important for maintaining a positive attitude. Having clear goals is a key to creating and
maintaining a positive mindset even when “things get tough.”
Qualities of Goals
In order for goals to be useful, they need to have the following qualities:
The goals that you set for yourself must be based on your values and beliefs.
No one else can choose goals for you. Others can make suggestions, but you must "own" your
goals for them to be useful.
You must decide what you want to achieve.

Goal Setting and Planning
In this unit, you will be focusing on goal setting and planning. In order to set realistic goals for yourself, you must first have a clear
understanding of what is important to you.
You will also begin planning ahead for your Unit 8 project by setting up an interview with a professional in your chosen field.
Goal Setting
In Unit 7 you investigate the power of setting goals. You seek to recognize the importance of goal setting and actually apply this
S.M.A.R.T. concept to your Unit 7 interview with completion and submission of your project in Unit 8. Goal setting will assist you and
motivate you to reach for success.
Why is Goal Setting Important?
Imagine you decide to build a house. You do not bother with setting any goals for its completion. Wow. What a mess. Imagine you want
to be a doctor when you grow up, but never thought you needed to take a science class in high school, or did not even plan on going to
college.
Goals motivate us.
Goals stimulate your creativity. You use one of the best creative words possible — you visualize. When you engage in visualization,
you are on the top step of Bloom’s Revised Taxonomy. You are fully engaged in critical thinking. Without goals, you will not achieve that
visualization.
Goals guide you.
CS113 Unit 7 Reading page 3
Goals are set to lead you as you move from beginning to end. They carry you along your way.
Goals inspire you.
Goals help you to recognize that you are the creator of your own stories. You can achieve anything that you want to achieve with the
inspiration you will get from goal setting. You will take things one step at a time and with each step you feel the power of completion.
Goals challenge you.
If not for the challenge involved in accomplishing a goal, you would not get past the first step. Goals do not have to be extremely hard to
reach, and they should not be too simple either, as there is no challenge in that. You reach when you set goals. You want that object,
job, or future that.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

2. Why Develop a Career Plan?
While there are no shortcuts to finding a new career, creating a career plan can make the process
manageable.
By developing a career plan, you'll be able to set clear goals for yourself and follow your progress
as you work toward a career objective.
2
3. Below are some questions
to ask yourself as you
begin thinking about your
career plan:
What are my current career interests?
How does my career interests align
with my personal goals?
Where do I see myself in five years?
3
4. Developing a Career Objective:
Creating an overall career
objective is the first step in
creating a career plan.
A strong objective will allow you to
focus on what you really want to
achieve in your career. Keep in mind
while planning, that objectives will
vary based on your individual needs
and desires.
4
5. Reaching Your Objective
It's important to remember that there is no single path to reaching your career objective. The
process might simply take longer or be more complicated than you originally planned.
You may find that you need assistance to reach your career goal .
Whatever your situation, remain flexible and don't be afraid to adjust your plan or even create
an entirely new career objective.
5
6. Setting Career Goals
Setting definite career goals will help
you stay on track as you progress
toward your career objective
While it's important to set meaningful
career goals, you might become
discouraged if these goals are too
difficult to achieve.
Try using the S.M.A.R.T. goal method to
help you create realistic and attainable
career goals.
6
8. Creating a Career Plan
Once you have created a career
objective and have formulated
your career goals, you should
have a clearer idea of the career
path you want to follow.
Drafting a career plan will help
you figure out exactly what you
need to pursue your chosen
career..
8
9. Keep a journal of your
progress. Record the ups
and downs you
experience. Reflecting
on your thoughts and
feelings will help you
overcome difficulties
and realize how much
you are accomplishing.
Stay focused. Life can be
distracting, so find a way
to remind yourself of
your goals on a daily or
weekly basis. You can
post encouraging notes
on the refrigerator, say
daily affirmations in the
mirror, or set reminders
on your mobile phone.
Use technology. There
are various websites and
apps for your mobile
phone that you can use
to set goals and keep
yourself on track. Some
good websites include
Goalmigo, StickK, and
GoalsOnTrack. Any.do
and Wunderlist are good
mobile apps that you
can use to track goals.
Make yourself
accountable. Tell friends
and family members
about your plan so they
can help you by asking
about your progress
toward your goals.
Staying Motivated
9
10. Staying Motivated Continued;
Prioritize. Sometimes having too
many goals can be
overwhelming. Decide which
goals are most important and
make those goals your priority.
Adjust your goals. If things are
not working out the way you
thought, don't give up. Simply
reassess and adjust your plan as
needed. Success is often a
process of finding out what
works and what doesn't.
Reward yourself. Meeting a goal
feels good and should be
celebrated. Whether it is a small
treat or a big party, rewarding
yourself will boost your
motivation.
10
11. Its time to complete your career
interest survey.
Gather your thoughts, identify your
career goals, and ask yourself the
important questions.
Then create your career plan!!!
Get Set, Get Ready,
Create a Career Plan!!!
