Such a construct is not only personalized, but would also extract relevant, individual specific
requisites from the changing environment to achieve coherence between an individual s personal
values and his/her personality. A review of the previous literature found that most previous studies
focused on investigating the respective influence of lifestyle and money attitudes on purchase
decision making independently, and few explored the influence of the interaction between these
two factors with regard to purchase decision making. Studies examining the interference effect of
marketing stimulation on the influence of the interaction between lifestyle and money attitude with
regard to purchase decision making are even rarer, and this has been the motivation for investigating
this particular topic in the present study. The primary purposes of this study are as follows: (1)
investigate the influence of lifestyle on purchase decisions; (2) study the influence of money
attitude on purchase decisions; (3) investigate the influence of marketing stimulation on purchase
decisions; (4) study the moderating effects of marketing stimulation and the influence of lifestyle
on purchase decisions; (5) investigate the moderating effects of marketing stimulation and the
influence of money attitude on purchase decisions. (6) investigate the influence of personal value
on purchase decisions; (7) study the moderating effects of personal value and the influence of

Vietnam Memorial Dbq
Vietnam Memorial Rough Draft
The Vietnam War was gruesome and it was terrible for the United States. A little after the war
ended, there was a contest for the Vietnam memorial in Washington, D.C. Maya Lin was chosen as
the designer of the memorial, but John Carhart has some problems with her design. After reading
Carhart s article, he does make some good points about the memorial, but others are not quite right.
The Vietnam Memorial is a very effective memorial. The main goal of Maya Linfor choosing this
design is for everyone that goes there is to resolve and come to terms with their losses. It is a
quiet place meant for personal reflection and private reckoning (Source D). This is why she
chose the simple, clean design of it being black with white letters. Black can be considered a
very depressing color, so it adds to the effect and the feeling that this memorial should give
someone. The thing that makes it very special is that it honors the dead instead of the living. This
memorial has every single name of a fallen soldier that fought in the Vietnam War. Also, the design
is good because it is different from all the other memorials in D.C. Every other memorial recognizes
the great ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
John Carhart said, The jurors know nothing of the real war in Vietnam the television portrayal
was far from adequate. The net result is that the design the jury chose as the winner was
necessarily a function of their perception of the war they lived through in America (Source E).
There were really two wars going on at this point. The first one was a military war fought in
Vietnam and the other was a political war going on here at home (Source E). When the civilians
who voted for the memorial, they only knew and experienced the political war. If veterans would
have chosen the design, it would not be this one. People who lived through the war, like John
Carhart, should have chosen what the design would

The Mass-Western Protagonist Essay example
In form, The Tall T is a fairly straightforward melodrama, utilizing familiar stock characters such as
the ignoble swindler, the naГЇve woman, the honorable bandit leader, and most importantly the
cowboy hero forced into the role of gunfighter and man of action by desperate circumstances. In
these respects, The Tall T, though produced in 1957, is representative of the great massof simplistic,
histrionic filmswhich constituted the majority of the Western genre output during the 1920s through
the 1950s; the film is perhaps even an exemplar of the subgenre, as director Budd Boetticher most
likely drew upon the most typical of the accumulated conventions of the B Western for inspiration.
Yet the final product does not transcend the subgenre... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
On the ethical plane, the level of this preГ«minence is such that it manifests itself as a tangible
aura Frank, the bandit leader, is drawn towards Brennan, even coming right out and saying, I don t
know why I like you, Brennan, in an unconscious recognition of virtue; the woman implicitly trusts
Brennan from the moment he hitches a ride on her stagecoach. As far as physical supremacy is
concerned, the gunfighting scenes in the movie are few, but once Brennan finally gets his hands on
a gun, the battle is as good as over Brennan s marksmanship is clearly superior even to Chingo s. In
sum, once Brennan has been caught up in the dramatic situation of the film, he is unquestionably in
control of his fate, even in captivity.
And yet this unquestionable dominance is plausible only with an equally unquestioning credulity
in the internal logic of the film; the viewer must exert considerable suspension of disbelief in
order for The Tall T to work as it was intended. Such willing involvement is simply acceptance of a
genre s prevailing conventions; Edward Buscombe, in his introduction to The BFI Companion to
the Western, notes that the Western is not merely a milieu or a way of life, but another world, or at
least another country (16). However, the world of the Western is hardly homogeneous and separate;
over the years the iconography of the Western has altered,

Animals
All procedures utilized in this study were approved by the Institutional Animal Care and Use
Committee (IACUC; protocol # 11968) of the University of Sothern California and carried out in
accordance with the Guide for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals (NIH). Cohorts consisted
of male C57BL/6J mice (15 16 weeks of age; 24 29g).
Middle cerebral artery occlusion Mice were anesthetized with 4% isofluorine at induction and
maintained at 2% isofluorine during the procedure. Rectal temperature was maintained at 35.5 C,
and a midline cranial incision was made in order to attach a laser doppler flowmetry (LDF)
microtip to the skull at 1mm posterior and 5mm right lateral to the bregma. The mouse was then
rotated to the supine position and a midline cervical incision was made. The right common carotid
artery (CCA), right external carotid artery (ECA), and right internal carotid artery (ICA) were
exposed. Three sutures were placed loosely around the CCA, and one suture was placed loosely
around the ECA. Once all the sutures were in place, the rostral most CCA suture was used to ligate
the CCA. The ECA suture was then used to ligate the ECA, and a

The Development Of Diabetes Mellitus
Specific cells of the pancreas produce a hormone called insulin to correct metabolism. Without
this hormone, glucose cannot enter body cells and blood glucose levels rise. As a result, the
individual
may begin to experience symptoms of hyperglycemia. Plainly expressed, this process is the
development of diabetes mellitus. Numbers have increased in recent years because so many
Americans are overweight. Also, testing accuracy has improved, therefore confirming more cases.
The
number of people with diabetes is expected to double as more people live to middle and old age.
There
are a few different classifications of Diabetes. Two of the common ones are: *Type 1(Formerly
known
as type I; insulin dependent diabetes mellitus[IDDM]; ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This buildup of glucose in the blood is called hyperglycemia. The body is unable to use the
glucose for energy. This leads to the symptoms of type 1 diabetes.
The exact cause of type 1 diabetes is unknown. Most likely it is an autoimmune disorder. This is a
condition that occurs when the immune system mistakenly attacks and destroys healthy body
tissue. With type 1 diabetes, an infection or another trigger causes the body to mistakenly attack
the cells in the pancreas that make insulin. The tendency to develop autoimmune diseases,
including type 1 diabetes, is hereditary. (Wisse, MD, 2015) The following symptoms may be the
first signs of type 1 diabetes. Or they may occur when blood sugar is high: being very thirsty,
feeling hungry ,feeling tired all the time ,having blurry eyesight, feeling numbness or tingling in
your feet, losing weight without trying, urinating more often (including urinating at night or bed
wetting in children who were dry overnight before) For other people, these serious warning
symptoms may be the first signs of type 1 diabetes. Or, they may happen when blood sugar is very
high (diabetic ketoacidosis): deep, rapid breathing, dry skin and mouth, flushed face, fruity breath
odor, nausea or vomiting; inability to keep down fluids, stomach pain.
Low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) can develop quickly in people with diabetes who are taking
insulin. Symptoms usually appear when a person s blood sugar level falls

The Ford Mustang Essays
A highly popular muscle and sports car, the Ford Mustang functions as a daily driver, weekend
warrior, and a show winning work of mechanical art. Whether someone just needs a basic
transportation to get from point A to point B, an eight second quarter mile beast, or a show
stopping work of power and beauty, Ford has produced a Mustang for every need. The Mustang
got its name from the World War II P 51 Mustang fighter plane (Harris). The five generations
evolved each year model until, in response to the 1971 1973 models, Ford returned the car to its
original size and concept in 1974 (Bowling). The first generation of the Mustangs appeared in 1964
and lasted through 1973. On March 9, 1964,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Furthermore, this car interests me because at the price one could completely personalize his or
her dream Mustang for only $2,320. Ford would sell close to 417,000 Mustangs within the first
year (Tucker). In August 1964, Carol Shelby approached Lee Daocca, President of Fomoco at
the time. Shelby had a vision to create a high performance Mustang and Shelby wanted a car that
could hold its own both on and off the track. Once Shelby received approval to move forward on
the project, he created a fastback 2+2 Mustang (Kelly). This model Mustang only had front
bucket seats and a console but no back seat, which earned it the name fastback 2+2. This model
mustang came equipped with a four speed manual transmission for more torque, one of the
fastest cars of its day. The 2+2 fastback Mustang remains my favorite model Mustang of this year
because it had a sleeker, aerodynamic design, and featured a larger engine, the 289 cu in, which
produced a whopping 306 horsepower (Tucker1). The official name for this 2+2 fastback
Mustang was the Shelby GT 350: Ford named it this for street purposes (Kelly). In the fall of
1964, Ford included an entirely new Mustang engine lineup and the addition of the GT group.
The 200 cu in six cylinder engine replaced the 170 cu in six cylinder engine, thus increasing the
six cylinder s performance from 101 horsepower to 120 horsepower. The 289 cu in replaced the 260

Ip Address Scenario
Unit 1 Exercise 1 IP address scenario There are many factors involved in this scenario. For
example, the building may lend itself to certain network designs. You may have multiple floors
or a single floor. Multiple data closets or just one. You may have virtualized servers or desktops.
You will want to accommodate all these into your design. 50% may seem like too much now,
but realistically, 200 or 300% might be more acurate. A simple design you can consider is 1 floor
with a single data closet serving 150 users. You need: A core network Networks for your firewall,
dmz, remote vpn clients, etc switch mgmt network server network voice network wireless network
networks for other services you have not yet identified, like... Show more content on
Helpwriting.net ...
If you can imagine wanting multiple networks for servers in the future for security reasons, this
makes sense. You may not want to lump your security camera video servers in the same network
as your email server. You may want a dedicated development network. You may have remote
users that don t need access to all servers. Things like that will influence your final design.
Another recommendation would be to leave 10.1.0.0/21 for network usage. Then make 10.1.8.0
/21 for your access. This can be carved up as above, 10.1.8.0/24 for pc s, 10.1.9.0/24 for voip and
so on. You can also go with smaller chunks if you are planning multiple data closets. 10.1.8.0 /22
would give 10.1.8.0 10.1.11.254 with a/24 network for pc,s voip, other then floor 2 10.1.12.0/22
10.1.12.0 10.1.14.254. In any case, your design needs to be flexible enough to handle massive
change without needing a complete overhaul. If you have 50 pc s per network now and you
allow for 254 and you have separate networks already in place for voip, wireless and 4 other
networks that can be carved into smaller networks as needed, you will have enough to go
around without redesigning anything for a long time. There are lots of pages available on
classless and classful addressing. Please let me know if this was helpful or if you need anything
else. Remember that using 10. address space is not necessary, you can use 172.29.x or 192.168.x as
well. It is just a little more flexible if

Supernatural Aid In Le Morte D Arthur
What is a supernatural aid? According to gordannapier.com, a supernatural aid is defined as help
given to the hero from someone who is endowed with abilities beyond the normal. They may or
may not give the hero some talisman to help him on the journey. Merlin from Le Morte D Arthur is
a supernatural aid who circumlocutory helps the hero by using his abnormal abilities to protect and
give advice. Merlyn from from The Once and Future Kingis also a supernatural aid who uses his
anomalistic abilities to protect and give advice, but he directly helps the hero. Both stories involve
supernatural aids, but each help the hero in a contradistinctive way. Although Merlinappears as

To illustrate, Merlyn had remembered to give him the proper smell for the nest for if he had
smelled of any other nest, they would have killed him at once. This illustrates how Merlyn
protected Arthur by equipping him with essential aromas to avoid injuries or ruination. Lastly,
Merlin in Le Morte D Arthur protects Arthur by causing the Archbishop to surround Arthur with
knights until he is accepted. The author states, that we let purvey ten knights, men of good fame,
and they to keep this sword which shows how Merlin counseled the Archbishop into providing
protection for Arthur. Nevertheless, Merlyn in The Once and Future King protects Arthur by
removing Arthur and transforming him back before the ants go to war. To further illustrate, The
horrible armies were on the point of joining battle, to dispute the imaginary boundary between
their glass trays when Merlyn came to be there. As far as protection, Merlin in Le Morte D Arthur
provides indirect protection through others; whereas, Merlyn in The Once and Future King
provides more direct or hands on advice. Direct protection, in my opinion, is better than indirect
protection because it is more reliable, and it goes through less people which lessens the chance of
alterations. Second of all, both Merlin in Le Morte D Arthur and Merlyn from The Once and
Future King provide advice. Merlin in

However, resolving the orders manually was a cumbersome task. It was a challenge for us to
work with the standard reports to resolve these issues with the work force we have available to
us in the direct side of the business, said Trilling. We were able to create a workflow application
using the data contained within CWData, and this allowed us to respond to these issues in an
efficient and cost effective manner. Leveraging CWData s unique functionality to extract only
new and changed data to the CWData database, Trilling created a Lotus Notes application that
accesses the CWData database to find all the orders that have gone on hold. Once the orders are
accessed, the application sends an e mail to the customer and, using the workflow capability
within Notes, adds it to a CSR s work queue. The application then accesses the CWData database

The Rime Of The Ancient Mariner
Coleridge?s Hidden Journal: ?The Rime of the Ancient Mariner? Samuel Taylor Coleridge?s
?Rime of the Ancient Mariner? is a piece known to many in some vague way or another. An
elderly sailor, a ghostly ship, and the killing of an albatross are all present in many people?s
minds, although they may not entirely know the whole tale. Although well known today, the
most activity ?Rime? has seen was in its beginnings. It has its fair share of praise and criticism,
praise given posthumously and criticism given while Coleridge was alive. Other than criticisms
on the actual text, many people claim that Coleridge borrowed the ideas of others and used them.
One must look past the criticisms and negative reviews on an author?s work in order to truly
understand it. This would aid a reader in realizing ?Rime? is full of religious truths, subtly
illustrating Coleridge?s religious opinions. More than this, ?Rime? is a hidden pathway to
Coleridge?s soul, as it allowed him to relieve grief and pain, illustrate his hopes and dreams, and
express his true feelings about his life and the lives of all. Although Samuel Taylor Coleridge?s
?Rime of the Ancient Mariner? was criticized by many, it was more than a poem stuffed with
borrowed ideas and stitched together with imagination; rather, it was an outlet for Coleridge, a
therapeutical journal which simultaneously brought entertainment to those of his time and
posterity. William Wordsworth

Russian Gas As A Foreign Policy Weapon
With 53% of the European Union s energy being imported in 2013, it is not a surprise that the
European Union is continuously seeking alternative energy methods to help gain energy
independence. If not complete independence, they hope to lower their reliance on Russia who to
frequently uses its energy dominance as a foreign policy weapon. Russian and Ukrainian disputes
in 2006, 2009, and 2014 have led to critical gas shortages across the European Union and a public
opinion that Russian natural gas is unreliable (1). The Czech Republic has been one of the many

Feed in tariffs as well as feed in premiums supported renewable electricity generation. These rates
were guaranteed for 20 years with hydropower generators rates being guaranteed for 30 years.
Additionally, investment support and green bonuses were given to renewable heating sources.
Furthermore, a sharp decline in the prices of solar panels led the Czech Republic to become the 4th
largest in terms of newly installed photovoltaic systems (5).
In 2009, the Czech Republic implemented a program to promote renewable energy within the
residential building sector. This program was entitled the Green Savings Programme. While the
program had a slow start, by September 2010 the applications for the program exceeded the
funding. The Programme promotes the use of thermal insulation, renewable energy sources for
space and water heating, and passive house design. The program stopped in 2010 due to the surge
of applicants, but was rebooted in 2013. This program is estimated to have a budget of 1.1 billion
euros by 2020 (5).
While the Green Savings Programme may have survived through the years, the Act on the
Promotion of the Use of Renewable Energy Sources wasn t so lucky. In January of 2011, solar
energy producers receiving feed in tariff support were taxed 26% and if they were receiving a
green bonus they were taxed 28%. This tax was introduced to slow down photovoltaic installments

Canada Is A Country Of Many Peoples That Have Come Together
Canada is a country of many peoples that have come together. Throughout Canada s history there
has been discrimination of several races. However, the aboriginal people of Canada have faced
particular discrimination considering that they have been treated poorly and against their will,
especially considering that they were the original people of the land who welcomed those from
across the seas. Aboriginal people, in particular, are facing injustice concerning their privileges,
accessibility, and equality in the healthcare system. Canadaboasts of having one of the greatest

Another negative factor to this stereotype is due to individualism the idea of personal
responsibility ; society has come to believe that alcoholism has become a part of aboriginal
people s genetic makeup and is not a result of society, but rather their personal problem (118). In
consequence, this stereotype has often been used as the lens that society wears while
considering the issue of alcoholism for many aboriginal people. Tang gives an example of
discrimination that a man felt when he visited the hospital; however, he emphasized that he does
not share this example with the intention to scold or put down healthcare providers, but rather to
emphasize the experience the patient had: Patient: You know what happened? I came here

Four Unifying Principles
UNIFYING PRINCIPLES OF ORGANIZATIONAL BEHAVIOR AND MANAGEMENT
ABSTRACT Theories and models of organizational behavior and management continue to increase
in number and complexity. While much of the recent research has not made its way into standard
business textbooks, these textbooks nonetheless offer a broad array of topics and concepts that can
easily overwhelm both student and practitioner. No common thread appears to link these disparate
topics, despite the fact that variations on the same theory often can be found across topics. This
paper describes four underlying principles of organizational behavior and management that distill
and synthesize essential features of many of the established theories and models. Each principle ...

The concepts related to each principle can be viewed, alternatively, as dichotomous (a choice among
opposites), continuous (a point along a continuum), or paradoxical (a contradiction or dialectic to
be resolved), and applied in combination to interpret and circumscribe specific theories. Finally, the
implications of these underlying principles for teaching management and organizational behavior
as well as for conducting organizational and case analyses are discussed.
THE UNIFYING PRINCIPLES There are four unifying principles presented in this paper, each
principle represented by two contrasting concepts. The principles are briefly described below, and
the application of each principle to organizational behavior and management is illustrated through
several examples. The intent of these examples is to demonstrate the range of applications for each
principle, rather than to provide an exhaustive analysis. (A more complete set of applications is
available from the author.)
INDIVIDUAL VS. COLLECTIVE
Description of the Principle
Perhaps no concepts are more central to our understanding of organizations and management than
those of the individual versus the collective. In a generic sense, the term individual means singular,
solitary, one, alone, separate, while the term collective means many, multiple, together, gathered,
joint. In human terms, these two words represent the

One can also consider why there are now so many overnight mail carriers such as United Parcel
Service and Airborne Express. The second example pertains to the exit from an industry,
specifically, the airline industry in the United States. Pan Am, a pioneer in public air transportation,
is no longer in operation, while some airlines such as TWA (Trans World Airlines) are on the verge
of exiting the airlines industry. Why, then, have many airlines that operate on international routes
fallen on hard times, while small regional airlines seem to be doing just fine? Managerial economics
provides answers to these questions.
In order to answer pertinent questions, managerial economics applies economic theories, tools,
and techniques to administrative and business decision making. The first step in the decision
making process is to collect relevant economic data carefully and to organize the economic
information contained in data collected in such a way as to establish a clear basis for managerial
decisions. The goals of the particular business organization must then be clearly spelled out. Based
on these stated goals, suitable managerial objectives are formulated. The issue of central concern in
the decision making process is that the desired objectives be reached in the best possible manner.
The term best in the decision making context primarily refers to achieving the goals in the most

The Sapphires Essay
The film The Sapphires directed by Wayne Blair, is based around and set in the era of the
Vietnam war. Belonging whether it s race or love is a big part of this film and constantly appears

rejected as he tries to belong and be a part of the group.
The first scene that introduces Dave was him sleeping in his car with a huge mess and he gets
woken up by a bunch of kids hitting his car, he got up and the first thing that you hear is bear
bottles clanging around at his feet. This first scene of Dave just shows that his life is not going

6.29. Thermal Interactions
Part 1:
In an insulated container, you mix 200. g of water at 80ВєC with 100. g of water at 20ВєC. After
mixing, the temperature of the water is 60ВєC. * a. How much did the temperature of the hot water
change? How much did the temperature of the cold water change? Compare the magnitudes
(positive values) of these changes.
200g of water at 80В°C = hot water
100g of water at 20ЛљC = cold water
After mixing the temperature is 60ЛљC (equilibrium T)
Answer:
The temperature of hot water changed:
60ЛљC 80ЛљC = 20ЛљC
The temperature of cold water changed:
60ЛљC 20ЛљC = 40ЛљC
The temperature change hot water to cold water is 20:40.

q = ms∆T q = ? * 4.18J/gЛ
љC * 40ЛљC
Mass of sample is not given, so we cannot calculate the heat added to the water sample.
Therefore the mass of the sample is needed to perform this calculation.
Part 3:
Two samples of water are heated from 20ВєC to 60ВєC. One of the samples requires twice as much
heat to bring about this temperature change as the other. How do the masses of the two water
samples compare? Explain your reasoning.
Answer:
Given;
Temperature change (∆T) = 60 20 = 40Л
љC
The first sample requires heat q1 = qJ (say) .......1
Then the second sample required heat q2 = 2q1J = 2q J .......2
Mass of first sample = m1g
Mass of second sample = m2g
Specific of water (s) = 4.18J/gЛљC
By the equation: q = ms∆T q1 = m1 * 4.18J/gЛ
љC * 40ЛљC for first sample q2 = m2 * 4.18J
/gЛљC * 40ЛљC for the second sample
Putting the value of q from equations (1) and (2)
2 * m1 * 4.18J/gЛљC * 40ЛљC = m2 * 4.18J/gЛљC we get:
2m1 = m2 m1 = ВЅ m2
Thus the mass of the first sample is one half the mass of the second sample.
6.30. Enthalpy * a. A 100. g sample of water is placed in an insulated container and allowed to
come to room temperature at 21ВєC. To heat the water sample to 41ВєC, how much heat must you
add to it?
Answer:
100g water
Initial T = 21ЛљC
Final T = 41ЛљC
∆H = ?
From the equation: q = s * m * ∆T
∆T = tf ti = 41Л
љC 21ЛљC = +20ЛљC
Therefore, q = 4.18J/gЛљC * 100g * (+20ЛљC) = 8.36 kJ

Phonemes In The English Language
Question 1 Language is a very important system of communication that can be either spoken,
written, or consisting of the use of words in a structured and conventional way. Language has the
profound ability to be communicated either verbally or nonverbally, using the movements of the
lips (reading lips), hands (motions), and even body language as methods of communication.
Language widely varies among communities and one s abilities (hearing, mobility, etc).
Phonemes, or the smallest unit of sounds in a spoken/sign language are imperative due to the fact
they help distinguish one word from another. Each phoneme represents a different sound a person
can make. There are forty four phonemes in the English language, and hundreds of spelling
alternatives that can be used to represent them. Phonemes consist of both vowels and consonants,
and can be anywhere from one letter to three, in no particular order. A phoneme can consist of a
single morpheme. Morphemes are the smallest meaningful unit in the grammar of a language.
These additional letters or words that are added on to existing words help create more meaning
for the word itself. i.e. adding s on the end of a word can suggest either possession or plural.
Adding un , meaning not . There are two types of morphemes, free and bound. A free morpheme is
essentially a word, meaning it can stand along and be meaningful. A bound morpheme usually
conveys grammatical notions, and are affixed to free morphemes to slightly change

The Discovery Dispute And Its Effect On The Status As A...
For the reasons stated in Part II(A), supra, Avpro enters this discovery dispute with a distinct
advantage due to its status as a non party. Independent of its status as a non party, the electronic
discovery that 50NL seeks from Avpro would otherwise be undiscoverable because Avpro s need
for the discovery does not outweigh the burden and cost of locating, retrieving, and producing the

is de minimis, the burden and costs imposed on Avpro are exorbitant, all in conjunction with the
fact that Avpro is a non party to the underlying litigation, all indicate that this Court should deny

involving aircraft. Lest we not forget, however, that Avpro is an aircraft broker, and as such, this
purported limitation rings hollow. Indeed, perhaps every incoming or outgoing communication
sent from or received by Avpro relates to an aircraft in some way or another. As such, the
incredibly broad scope of the discovery request at issue militates in favor of denying 50NL s
motion to compel. Moreover, in this matter, not only is all the information that Avpro seeks readily

The Sea Wolf And Julie Otsuka s The Buddha
Privilege is something that has impacted the world for centuries. There are vast arrays of
different types of privilege, but one of the more prevalent ones seems to be male privilege. Quite
a few of the literally works that have been covered in class have male privilege littered through
them to an extent. Two of the most notable works that male privilege played a key role in were
Jack London s The Sea Wolf and Julie Otsuka s The Buddha in the Attic. While both novels
contain male privilege in them they both take pretty different approaches to the same idea. In The
Sea Wolf, women are seen as frail and only fit for certain types of work, most of that work being
rearing the children and taking care of the house. In The Buddha in the Attic, the story is very
different. Women are expected to do everything that a man would do and much more. The setting of
both novels start off in America at the turn of the century and the main characters are either from or
had moved to the west coast. Culture is the major difference in how genderis perceived in these
novels. The main and outstanding difference is that in The Sea Wolf the novel follows white
culture and in The Buddha in the Attic the novel follows Japanese culture. Privilege in The Sea
Wolf is the kind male privilege that comes to people s minds. The way it goes is that men get to
work a job while women stay home and take care of the house and children. In The Sea Wolf, there
is not much said about women for a good chunk of the

Gregor Mendel Differences
Gregor Mendel once said, My scientific studies have afforded me great gratification; and I am
convinced that it will not be long before the whole world acknowledges the results of my work.
Mendel was a well educated man who gravitated towards physics and math. His research was
conducted over roughly 10 years(Gregor MendelBotanist, Scientist Biography.com. (n.d.).

Gregor Mendel is the reason we now know why our skin is a certain color, why our eyes are
brown or blue, and why we share similarities with our parents. Mendel s experiments are relevant
because he proved his laws. To begin with, there are two main observations Mendel made during
his experiments. The first thing he learned was that traits are inherited as discrete units, meaning
the differences are clear to the naked eye. He also discovered what is now called the Law of
Segregation or Mendel s first law,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

be dominant if every case but if a person has the genotype Bb and another has bb the ratio of your
offspring is two to two. This example shows the relevance of Mendel s study because it shows in
depth how a person can end up with blue eyes even when both parents are brown eyes their
genotypes can be heterozygous for brown and blue.(Understanding Genetics. (n.d.). Retrieved

institution after the murder, leaving Evelyn alone. With Thaw gone, Evelyn s beauty was
wasted away before cheap audiences (Taylor, 1). Evelyn revolutionized the role of women s
sexuality in society. She was open with her beauty and femininity, using them to make a living.
As Goldman said: Evelyn was a woman forced to find her genius in the exercise of her sexual
attraction (Doctorow, 54). This example that Evelyn set was not an admirable one. Many
women advanced their places due to urbanization, but Evelyn did not. Men saw the way Evelyn
s face on the front page of a newspaper sold out the edition (Doctorow, 84). She was seen as a sex
symbol, and her looks were all that people noticed. Society used her as a model of what to look
like. She was used to draw audiences in; she was what people wanted to see. She also gave
people the idea that they could rise up from poverty and become rich. This was false hope; she
was simply lucky to go from rags to riches, not everyone could do that. Evelyn looked weak and

Doing so he will be helping the people of New Jersey by lowering property taxes, which
individuals can finally be relieved to hear. Murphy also wants to be more strict with spending on
transit to ensure that the roads and bridges are functional rather than crowded with tolls.
Personally, I think this is very efficient because these two factors make New Jersey very
expensive to live in and by lowering taxes and being more strict with transit the economy can
steadily progress to a stable point. Murphy wants to grow the economy due to the state being
ranked last or near last in growth and inequalities. He states, We need an economy that works for
all New Jerseyans not just the special interests, I flat out reject the us versus them approach to
our economy, it is time we get back to thinking about we (Phil Murphy). Murphy wants to achieve
this by raising the wage to $15 an hour, ensure equal pay for equal work, and make millionaires
and corporations pay their fair share of taxes. If this is successful then the economic standing that
New Jersey holds will soon exponentially rise to the top. At the same time, Murphy wants to fix the
economy so that more is invested in schools, family care and the elimination of poverty. Along with

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Cattle Herding
Jobs that have become recently obsolete
Due to the industrial revolution and progress of technology, jobs are beginning to become obsolete.
These jobs include; the milk man, inspectors, testers, samplers etc. in factories and drivers.
Milk man
Before fridges were invited men delivered fresh, cool milk right to your doorstep before it spoiled.
This was usually done by young, charming well mannered men. This labour recently ended due to
the introduction of fridges, shopping centres, preservatives and new ways for milk to last longer
(condensed milk).
Inspectors, samplers, testers weighers
Before machines factories hand tested, sampled and weighed products and officials were called in
for inspection. Now we have the technology analyse and inspect products and weight them while
being prepared for packaging. Because of this advancement these workers are no longer needed
and told to move on from the old days .
Drivers
Drivers (not people who drive vehicles) used to manually herd cattle and sheep where ever they
were expected/needed (like cowboys). A robot has recently been created to drive herds and go
stand even the harshest of environments. Although this makes it easier for farmers it has left lots of
drivers unemployed.

Sweatshop Exploitation and Responsibility
Sweatshops were first well known to the public eye when several major corporations exploitation of
workers were revealed during the late twentieth century. Sweatshops generally are factories that
provide workers with socially unacceptable working conditions, especially dealing with clothing
items. With the expanding apparel industries around the world, more and more corporations are
using sweatshop factories to their advantage. Numerous companies claim that they are not
responsible for actions of those factories from which they purchase from because it is not part of
their corporation. However, action needs to be taken by the government and individual
corporations to improve the working conditions in sweatshop factories. Due to the harsh working
environment, insufficient pay, and other factors that cause inhumane treatment of workers in
sweatshops, the US government should improve working conditions for workers, have stricter
regulations on sweatshops, and strive to improve the treatment of sweatshop workers across the
globe. Sweatshop proponents argue that even though sweatshops may not provide the best
working conditions for workers, it at least provides a job for those who are in desperate need of
one. In a way, a sweatshop may even benefit the workers. The money the workers earn from
working in the sweatshop factory may be the deciding factor in whether they have food

Pros And Cons Of Indians
The establishment of the Virginia colony was a rough, and tough one. For many years after the first
settlement the establishment lacked advancement and was a great failure to it s original
expectations. Despite the claim that the colonial experience between two cultures results in the
destruction of the inferior culture, the superior English could have easily been wiped out had the
inferior Indians let them stare to death. Yet, because of this helping hand, the saved Europeans, with
more superior economics, technology, and lustful desires in mind seized the land right under the
Indians. Were the Indians fated to be destroyed based on the decisions and the circumstances of
both parties, and why? The Indians were unfortunate collateral damage to their own helping hand,
boosting the likelihood of their destruction and the growing greed and selfishness of the Whites.
With many cultural differences, morals, and action the Indians were not exactly up to par with the
European s current way of life. Bringing lustful desires of profit, and imposing intentions to the

The Importance Of Mangroves In Australia
Mangroves are trees and shrubs that can be found along coastal intertidal zones in tropical and
subtropical areas near the equator due to their inability to survive in low temperatures. Mangroves
are found not only in australia but on coastlines all over the world and are distributed over 100
countries in the tropical and sub tropical regions of the world. Australia contains the third largest
area of mangroves in the world after Indonesia and Brazil, totalling around 11,500 km2
representing approximately 6.4% of the world s total mangrovearea (Appendix A)
(Mangrovewatch.com, 2017). There are 73 different types of mangrove species in the world. 39 of
these mangrove species dwell in Australia. The intertidal zoneor littoral zone, is the area that is
exposed at low tidebut is submerged by seawater during high tide. Mangroves survive in salt water
on sheltered muddy shores, because they have adapted to the harsh abiotic conditions in order to
survive in their area. Mangroves also provide a habitat for marine organisms such as fish, crabs and
yabbies. Furthermore they provide a habitat for many land animals such as birds, pythons, lizards
and crocodiles. How mangroves contribute to the functioning of intertidal ecosystems will be
discussed on this report.
Mangroves have a very important role in their ecosystem. Their niche includes protecting and
providing for many organisms. Mangroves are considered main producers in their complex food

Appeacances of Tim Burton in His Own Films
Tim Burton is a unique American filmmaker that grew up watching horror movies, and even
lived near a cemetary. He was surely a self admitted oddball. However, Tim s style always seems
to appear in any movie he directs. A few movies are Edward scissorhands, Charlie and the
Chocolate Factory, and Corpse Bride. These movies represent his interests, inspirations, and life
experiences. Some of Tim s techniques are different, with a touch of darkness, and suspense to
create his style of flashbacks, gothic theme, and irony. One element that is contributed to Burton s
establishments, and cinematic style are flashbacks. Flashbacks show what occured in the past. For
example, in the film Edward scissorhands, there s a scene where Edward Scissorhands has a
flashback of his father replacing his hands with prosthetics. Flashbacks make the audience feel
sympathy, because he is close to getting hands but his creator died. This flash back is essential for
defining Burton s style, because flashbacks are necessary to the plot, or gives characters depth and
meaning. Similarly, in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, the director uses flashbacks in the scene
where Willy Wonka had a flashback of his childhood. In this scene, the audience learns how
Wonka s father was exteremely strict on eating candy. This goes to show how Wonka became a
candy maker. Furthermor, in Corpse bride Emily, the corpse bride, has a flashback of when she was
alive, and when she was in love with a lord. It finally

getting a taste of power, and being included instead ostracized from classroom society.Han truly
recognizes it, and as he says, Needless to say I was completely intoxicated by the special sweetness
Sokdae had allowed me to taste (Munyol 84). Here, Han relates his new reception of the rewards...

This is a complete flip of the script from when in 5th grade when given the opportunity and they
all said nothing. To in 6th grade, all the children seize the opportunity to all rat out Om to the
teacher. As the class had this opportunity they began to utilize it, Han speaks of, They seemed to
be no more than traitors who had waited for Sokdae to fall before jumping in on him and
walking all over him (Munyol 97). This is a perfect example of how abandonment of principle
leads to submission. After being beaten and seeing their leader fall, one after another they gave up
their principals and beliefs in the old system and submitted to the new teacher. In fact as they more
began to fall and submit the words seemed to jump out of their mouths and attack their old leader.
These traitors found it convenient to abandon their old system of beliefs and not having anything
else to base things off of, and submit to the new system of authority. Being able to reap the rewards
and being traitors to their old system, this shows how the students in the 6th grade class illustrate
how the abandonment of reason and principle leads to

Bilbo Baggins Quotes
Bilbo Baggins Is A Hero A hero is an ordinary individual who finds the strength to persevere and
endure in spite of overwhelming obstacles. This quote by Christopher Reeves is a great
description of Bilbo Baggins. Bilbo is just an ordinary hobbit. There is not anything exciting
about his life. He lives in a quiet house, in a quiet town, with quiet people. Bilbo is a plain and
simple individual. Throughout the book, however, Bilbo is faced with difficulties that he never
dreamed would confront him. Instead of cowering away, Bilbo shows that he has the strength to
prevail against his greatest enemies. This strength that Bilbo finds, along with other traits, are why
I believe the he is a hero. These are a few of the characteristics that define... Show more content on

He was loyal to the dwarves throughout their journey. Bilbo did not leave them, even when he
had the opportunities and the rights to go back home. For instance, after he escaped the goblin s
cave, the dwarves did not know where he went. Bilbo could have easily slipped away, but
instead, he searched for them. He could have traveled home, Bilbo missed his home very much,
but he thought about how the dwarves have been trying to return home for many, many years.
Bilbo thought about his friends feelings, not just his own. He was willing to help them even
when it meant danger for himself. Bilbo shows courage in the face of danger. He did not turn
back when he faced the trolls, spiders, goblins, or even Smaug. Bilbo had never encountered any
dangerous monsters before this adventure. Still, he defied them all, and many times alone. He
had to rely only on himself. Luckily, Bilbo was also very clever. He was able to have Gollum
show him the way out of the Goblin cave while avoiding him instantaneously. Also, when the
dwarves were imprisoned by the wood elves, Bilbo created a plan that lead to their escape. If it
were not for his masterful ideas, then the dwarves may have rotted in prison. In the Misty
Mountains, he was able to talk to Smaug and still live to tell the tale. Though, Bilbo did not start
off as a hero. It was throughout his adventure that he became

My sci fi paper will follow the unfortunate events surrounding a spaceship and its crew on the far

a hypervelocity star (HVS). An HVS is defined as a star that is traveling faster than the escape
velocity of the galaxy. In addition, the spacecraftwill use a quantum vacuum plasma thruster (Q
thruster) as its propulsion system as described by Dr. Harold White s research at NASA.

The Van Allen belts consist of an inner and more concentrated belt of protons at a distance of
3,600 km and an outer and less concentrated belt of electrons at a distance of 10,000
km~cite{wilson}. In the most intense regions of the inner belt, exposure can be lethal after a few
tens of hours~cite{smart}. This created uncertainty at NASA for whether or not humans could ever
travel to the Moon and beyond. In response, the scientist who discovered the Van Allen belts, James
Van Allen, proposed a controversial method of removing the trapped radiation. He suggested that a
nuclear detonation in space might cause the trapped protons to escape from the Earth s magnetic
field. The theory was never directly tested, but a similar test that detonated a 1.4 megaton bomb in
the atmosphere showed that in fact more radiation was added as a result~cite{popsci}.
The second source of space radiation is called a Solar Particle Event or SPE. This type of
radiation originates from solar ejections of charged particles, usually as X rays~cite{nasa}. The
cause of an SPE is generally attributed to a loss of ideal MHD (magnetohydrodynamics) or stability
within the Sun s atmosphere~cite{forbes}. Although SPE s can eject over a billion tons of matter
into space, the Earths magnetosphere can deflect most of the charged particles. Outside of the Earths
magnetosphere, though, the dosage of an SPE can be lethal in a matter of hours~cite{nasa, smart}.

The Myth Of The Latin Woman Summary
When people hear the world prejudice, he thinks that refers to racial prejudice among those who
have fair skin and those with dark skin. However, prejudice is more than skin color. Prejudice is
among gender, religion, culture, geographic origin and race. Prejudice has become a complex
problem in our society. In the story The Myth of the Latin Woman written by Judith Ortiz Cofer,
she discusses how people impose the identity of Latinas as terms of social stereotype. Judith Ortiz is
a Latin woman suffering from stereotypes. Although it is an educated woman, prejudiceand
stereotypes they have followed throughout his career, and aims to prove them wrong. In the
documentary ВЁStraight Man in a Gay WorldВЁ by the 30 Days serie, it shows us how at the
beginning Ryan a heterosexual man prejudiced homosexual people. Ryan is an American boy with
a strong religion who must live for 30 days in the homosexual culture. The point of view of Ryan

What she wants us to see here is that people defines who you are before knowing you, and all
time prejudice is wrong because all people have different way of thinking, personality and goals.
The way how Judith Ortiz shows to the old lady that she was wrong was that day as I read I

Summary Of The Book One Flew Over The Cuckoo s
n August 6, 1945, America destroyed the city of Hiroshima with a massive bomb. The bomb
kills nearly 100,000 people and injures 100,000 more. The book traces the lives of six survivors

lives forty years after the bomb. In conclusion Hersey finds that the effects of nuclear war never
faded away. The citizens of Hiroshimastill suffered years after, and nuclear war continues to
threaten the entire world.
The main theme of the book to me is the overcoming of such a large devastation in every one of
those people s lives and as a community. In Chapter Four, One feeling they did seem to share,
however, was a curious kind of elated community spirit . . . a pride in the way they and their fellow

The Fountainhead Gail Wynand Character Analysis
The book The Fountainhead written by Ayn Rand, has many characters whose backgrounds paved
the various themes of this particular novel. As the protagonist of the story, Roark Howard goes
against the conformity that most of the other characters allege with. Coincidentally, some of the
other characters follow suit in immoral ways, not because they want to, but because they feel it is
the only way to survive. Among the culprits of this description falls this character who appears
later in the story: Gail Wynand. Being head of this newspaper, The Banner, Wyand panders in an
unethical manner because he wants to publish what will consistently bring cash, what is uniformly
wanted, and he covers it up to deem it overall justifiable. As many newspapers, the goal is to notify
the public of current phenomenon that had occurred on a public level. Wynand s papper The
Banner held this interest too. Although to more of a degree that stunned, amused, and collected

Similarly are the motives of Gail Wynand a character in The Fountainhead. After a childhood of
despair and fighting to survive, Wynand wanted something that he could be sure in. His only
ethical moral was to survive. This meant getting enough money in any way that had to be
compromised. To do this he conformed to the public in ways that made the unethical seem alright
to immerse in. Wyand panders only on the account that he can prove it as proper to himself. He
does so by fulfilling his one moral, considering the mast want as virtuous, and attempts to disguise
his in fallacies with pleasant deeds that are associated with saint. No matter what the outside, or
the inside seems like, Gail Wynand is a dark lost soul that is looking for love, in places where it

faced by the international students over here as they make their entry to new culture and a new
educational system. They have to begin a new life in an environment that is very different. For
example simple tasks such as going to grocery store where the language is different and the

solving skills and self guided research. Majority of the students live without their family which is

Results of the College Student Interviews
I conducted 5 one on one interviews with students who have completed their first year in college.
The idea was to find out how well they were prepared for the financial decisions that would be put
before them. Unlike the general survey, the interview allowed me to ask for individual input.
The first topic was preparedness. I asked if there was anyone who trained them about finances or
talk to them about money. They all answered they had received a little instruction from family and
nowhere else. An interesting fact was that the majority learned their skills from their mothers.
Next they were asked a question that was similar to the survey in the aspect of what are some
common items you purchase during a week. Gas, Groceries, and coffee were consistent answers
here, although school supplies were mentioned during one interview. ... Show more content on

Power In Macbeth
Macbeth demonstrates contrasting emotions with different types of people. While he is respectful
to some, he is also suspicious of another. Thus, Macbeth s varying relationships with others is
based on how they will affect his rise to power. Macbeth and Lady Macbeth s relationship play into
the shift of power throughout the play. In the first half of the play, Macbethrespects Lady Macbeth
and looks up to her. For instance, he says, I dare do all that may become a man. / Who dares do
more is none. (I, vii, 50 51) This quote shows how Macbeth will do anything to please his wife.
Contrastingly, Lady Macbeth looks down on her spouse, describing him as too full of the milk of

ALDACTAZIDE BEST ONLINE BUY|Aldactazide profile,stacks,prices,...Aldactazide is a trade
name for an oral, combination diuretic. Aldactazide contains a mixture of spironolactone
(Aldactide) and hydrochlorthiazide (Hydrodiuril). Aldactone is a milder, potassium sparing diuretic
while Hydrodiuril is a more potent compound from the thiazide family. The combination produces a
diureticwith potency comparable to that seen with a doubling in thiazide dosage (when used alone),
but without the same level of calcium and potassium excretion. While a potassium supplement is
often required with thiazide treatment, the balance of the two drugs in Aldactazide virtually
eliminates this need.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The user, depending on individual needs, will need to judge the timing of his diuretic use in
relation to the weigh in or show. The whole intake/preparation schedule should also not run
longer than a few days, so as to minimize potential health risks. It is also much more effective
when the athlete is familiar with the process well before actually needing to do so. This way
frantic last minute diuretic use can be avoided, as the user should be fully prepared. When
administered haphazardly, it is very easy to achieve too great a diuretic effect. The result in this
case might not be a defined look, but a flat, deflated appearance brought about by severe
dehydration. The most common practice among athletes is to administer a single 50 mg/50 mg
tablet in the morning (with a meal), and to wait and judge the diuretic effect. After a number of
hours, this is repeated if a stronger effect is needed. Usually 2 3 tablets will be

Such a construct is not only personalized, but would also extract relevant, individual specific requisites from the changing environment to achieve coherence between an individual s personal values and his/her personality. A review of the previous literature found that most previous studies focused on investigating the respective influence of lifestyle and money attitudes on purchase decision making independently, and few explored the influence of the interaction between these two factors with regard to purchase decision making. Studies examining the interference effect of marketing stimulation on the influence of the interaction between lifestyle and money attitude with regard to purchase decision making are even rarer, and this has been the motivation for investigating this particular topic in the present study. The primary purposes of this study are as follows: (1) investigate the influence of lifestyle on purchase decisions; (2) study the influence of money attitude on purchase decisions; (3) investigate the influence of marketing stimulation on purchase decisions; (4) study the moderating effects of marketing stimulation and the influence of lifestyle on purchase decisions; (5) investigate the moderating effects of marketing stimulation and the influence of money attitude on purchase decisions. • 3. Vietnam Memorial Dbq Vietnam Memorial Rough Draft The Vietnam War was gruesome and it was terrible for the United States. A little after the war ended, there was a contest for the Vietnam memorial in Washington, D.C. Maya Lin was chosen as the designer of the memorial, but John Carhart has some problems with her design. After reading Carhart s article, he does make some good points about the memorial, but others are not quite right. The Vietnam Memorial is a very effective memorial. The main goal of Maya Linfor choosing this design is for everyone that goes there is to resolve and come to terms with their losses. It is a quiet place meant for personal reflection and private reckoning (Source D). This is why she chose the simple, clean design of it being black with white letters. Black can be considered a very depressing color, so it adds to the effect and the feeling that this memorial should give someone. The thing that makes it very special is that it honors the dead instead of the living. This memorial has every single name of a fallen soldier that fought in the Vietnam War. Also, the design is good because it is different from all the other memorials in D.C. Every other memorial recognizes the great ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... John Carhart said, The jurors know nothing of the real war in Vietnam the television portrayal was far from adequate. The net result is that the design the jury chose as the winner was necessarily a function of their perception of the war they lived through in America (Source E). There were really two wars going on at this point. The first one was a military war fought in Vietnam and the other was a political war going on here at home (Source E). When the civilians who voted for the memorial, they only knew and experienced the political war. If veterans would have chosen the design, it would not be this one. • 5. The Mass-Western Protagonist Essay example In form, The Tall T is a fairly straightforward melodrama, utilizing familiar stock characters such as the ignoble swindler, the naГЇve woman, the honorable bandit leader, and most importantly the cowboy hero forced into the role of gunfighter and man of action by desperate circumstances. In these respects, The Tall T, though produced in 1957, is representative of the great massof simplistic, histrionic filmswhich constituted the majority of the Western genre output during the 1920s through the 1950s; the film is perhaps even an exemplar of the subgenre, as director Budd Boetticher most likely drew upon the most typical of the accumulated conventions of the B Western for inspiration. Yet the final product does not transcend the subgenre... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... On the ethical plane, the level of this preГ«minence is such that it manifests itself as a tangible aura Frank, the bandit leader, is drawn towards Brennan, even coming right out and saying, I don t know why I like you, Brennan, in an unconscious recognition of virtue; the woman implicitly trusts Brennan from the moment he hitches a ride on her stagecoach. As far as physical supremacy is concerned, the gunfighting scenes in the movie are few, but once Brennan finally gets his hands on a gun, the battle is as good as over Brennan s marksmanship is clearly superior even to Chingo s. In sum, once Brennan has been caught up in the dramatic situation of the film, he is unquestionably in control of his fate, even in captivity. And yet this unquestionable dominance is plausible only with an equally unquestioning credulity in the internal logic of the film; the viewer must exert considerable suspension of disbelief in order for The Tall T to work as it was intended. Such willing involvement is simply acceptance of a genre s prevailing conventions; Edward Buscombe, in his introduction to The BFI Companion to the Western, notes that the Western is not merely a milieu or a way of life, but another world, or at least another country (16). However, the world of the Western is hardly homogeneous and separate; over the years the iconography of the Western has altered, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Mack Abstract Introduction Methods Animals All procedures utilized in this study were approved by the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC; protocol # 11968) of the University of Sothern California and carried out in accordance with the Guide for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals (NIH). Cohorts consisted of male C57BL/6J mice (15 16 weeks of age; 24 29g). Middle cerebral artery occlusion Mice were anesthetized with 4% isofluorine at induction and maintained at 2% isofluorine during the procedure. Rectal temperature was maintained at 35.5 C, and a midline cranial incision was made in order to attach a laser doppler flowmetry (LDF) microtip to the skull at 1mm posterior and 5mm right lateral to the bregma. The mouse was then rotated to the supine position and a midline cervical incision was made. The right common carotid artery (CCA), right external carotid artery (ECA), and right internal carotid artery (ICA) were exposed. Three sutures were placed loosely around the CCA, and one suture was placed loosely around the ECA. Once all the sutures were in place, the rostral most CCA suture was used to ligate the CCA. The ECA suture was then used to ligate the ECA, and a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. The Development Of Diabetes Mellitus Specific cells of the pancreas produce a hormone called insulin to correct metabolism. Without this hormone, glucose cannot enter body cells and blood glucose levels rise. As a result, the individual may begin to experience symptoms of hyperglycemia. Plainly expressed, this process is the development of diabetes mellitus. Numbers have increased in recent years because so many Americans are overweight. Also, testing accuracy has improved, therefore confirming more cases. The number of people with diabetes is expected to double as more people live to middle and old age. There are a few different classifications of Diabetes. Two of the common ones are: *Type 1(Formerly known as type I; insulin dependent diabetes mellitus[IDDM]; ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This buildup of glucose in the blood is called hyperglycemia. The body is unable to use the glucose for energy. This leads to the symptoms of type 1 diabetes. The exact cause of type 1 diabetes is unknown. Most likely it is an autoimmune disorder. This is a condition that occurs when the immune system mistakenly attacks and destroys healthy body tissue. With type 1 diabetes, an infection or another trigger causes the body to mistakenly attack the cells in the pancreas that make insulin. The tendency to develop autoimmune diseases, including type 1 diabetes, is hereditary. (Wisse, MD, 2015) The following symptoms may be the first signs of type 1 diabetes. Or they may occur when blood sugar is high: being very thirsty, feeling hungry ,feeling tired all the time ,having blurry eyesight, feeling numbness or tingling in your feet, losing weight without trying, urinating more often (including urinating at night or bed wetting in children who were dry overnight before) For other people, these serious warning symptoms may be the first signs of type 1 diabetes. Or, they may happen when blood sugar is very high (diabetic ketoacidosis): deep, rapid breathing, dry skin and mouth, flushed face, fruity breath odor, nausea or vomiting; inability to keep down fluids, stomach pain. Low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) can develop quickly in people with diabetes who are taking insulin. Symptoms usually appear when a person s blood sugar level falls ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. The Ford Mustang Essays A highly popular muscle and sports car, the Ford Mustang functions as a daily driver, weekend warrior, and a show winning work of mechanical art. Whether someone just needs a basic transportation to get from point A to point B, an eight second quarter mile beast, or a show stopping work of power and beauty, Ford has produced a Mustang for every need. The Mustang got its name from the World War II P 51 Mustang fighter plane (Harris). The five generations evolved each year model until, in response to the 1971 1973 models, Ford returned the car to its original size and concept in 1974 (Bowling). Furthermore, this car interests me because at the price one could completely personalize his or her dream Mustang for only $2,320. Ford would sell close to 417,000 Mustangs within the first year (Tucker). In August 1964, Carol Shelby approached Lee Daocca, President of Fomoco at the time. Shelby had a vision to create a high performance Mustang and Shelby wanted a car that could hold its own both on and off the track. Once Shelby received approval to move forward on the project, he created a fastback 2+2 Mustang (Kelly). This model Mustang only had front bucket seats and a console but no back seat, which earned it the name fastback 2+2. This model mustang came equipped with a four speed manual transmission for more torque, one of the fastest cars of its day. The 2+2 fastback Mustang remains my favorite model Mustang of this year because it had a sleeker, aerodynamic design, and featured a larger engine, the 289 cu in, which produced a whopping 306 horsepower (Tucker1). The official name for this 2+2 fastback Mustang was the Shelby GT 350: Ford named it this for street purposes (Kelly). In the fall of 1964, Ford included an entirely new Mustang engine lineup and the addition of the GT group. The 200 cu in six cylinder engine replaced the 170 cu in six cylinder engine, thus increasing the six cylinder s performance from 101 horsepower to 120 horsepower. • 9. Ip Address Scenario Unit 1 Exercise 1 IP address scenario There are many factors involved in this scenario. For example, the building may lend itself to certain network designs. You may have multiple floors or a single floor. Multiple data closets or just one. You may have virtualized servers or desktops. You will want to accommodate all these into your design. 50% may seem like too much now, but realistically, 200 or 300% might be more acurate. A simple design you can consider is 1 floor with a single data closet serving 150 users. You need: A core network Networks for your firewall, dmz, remote vpn clients, etc switch mgmt network server network voice network wireless network networks for other services you have not yet identified, like... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If you can imagine wanting multiple networks for servers in the future for security reasons, this makes sense. You may not want to lump your security camera video servers in the same network as your email server. You may want a dedicated development network. You may have remote users that don t need access to all servers. Things like that will influence your final design. Another recommendation would be to leave 10.1.0.0/21 for network usage. Then make 10.1.8.0 /21 for your access. This can be carved up as above, 10.1.8.0/24 for pc s, 10.1.9.0/24 for voip and so on. You can also go with smaller chunks if you are planning multiple data closets. 10.1.8.0 /22 would give 10.1.8.0 10.1.11.254 with a/24 network for pc,s voip, other then floor 2 10.1.12.0/22 10.1.12.0 10.1.14.254. In any case, your design needs to be flexible enough to handle massive change without needing a complete overhaul. If you have 50 pc s per network now and you allow for 254 and you have separate networks already in place for voip, wireless and 4 other networks that can be carved into smaller networks as needed, you will have enough to go around without redesigning anything for a long time. There are lots of pages available on classless and classful addressing. Please let me know if this was helpful or if you need anything else. Remember that using 10. address space is not necessary, you can use 172.29.x or 192.168.x as well. It is just a little more flexible if ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

According to gordannapier.com, a supernatural aid is defined as help given to the hero from someone who is endowed with abilities beyond the normal. They may or may not give the hero some talisman to help him on the journey. Merlin from Le Morte D Arthur is a supernatural aid who circumlocutory helps the hero by using his abnormal abilities to protect and give advice. Merlyn from from The Once and Future Kingis also a supernatural aid who uses his anomalistic abilities to protect and give advice, but he directly helps the hero. Lastly, Merlin in Le Morte D Arthur protects Arthur by causing the Archbishop to surround Arthur with knights until he is accepted. The author states, that we let purvey ten knights, men of good fame, and they to keep this sword which shows how Merlin counseled the Archbishop into providing protection for Arthur. Nevertheless, Merlyn in The Once and Future King protects Arthur by removing Arthur and transforming him back before the ants go to war. To further illustrate, The horrible armies were on the point of joining battle, to dispute the imaginary boundary between their glass trays when Merlyn came to be there. As far as protection, Merlin in Le Morte D Arthur provides indirect protection through others; whereas, Merlyn in The Once and Future King provides more direct or hands on advice. Direct protection, in my opinion, is better than indirect protection because it is more reliable, and it goes through less people which lessens the chance of alterations. • 12. The Rime Of The Ancient Mariner Coleridge?s Hidden Journal: ?The Rime of the Ancient Mariner? Samuel Taylor Coleridge?s ?Rime of the Ancient Mariner? is a piece known to many in some vague way or another. An elderly sailor, a ghostly ship, and the killing of an albatross are all present in many people?s minds, although they may not entirely know the whole tale. Although well known today, the most activity ?Rime? has seen was in its beginnings. It has its fair share of praise and criticism, praise given posthumously and criticism given while Coleridge was alive. Other than criticisms on the actual text, many people claim that Coleridge borrowed the ideas of others and used them. One must look past the criticisms and negative reviews on an author?s work in order to truly understand it. This would aid a reader in realizing ?Rime? is full of religious truths, subtly illustrating Coleridge?s religious opinions. More than this, ?Rime? is a hidden pathway to Coleridge?s soul, as it allowed him to relieve grief and pain, illustrate his hopes and dreams, and express his true feelings about his life and the lives of all. Although Samuel Taylor Coleridge?s ?Rime of the Ancient Mariner? was criticized by many, it was more than a poem stuffed with borrowed ideas and stitched together with imagination; rather, it was an outlet for Coleridge, a therapeutical journal which simultaneously brought entertainment to those of his time and posterity. In 2009, the Czech Republic implemented a program to promote renewable energy within the residential building sector. This program was entitled the Green Savings Programme. While the program had a slow start, by September 2010 the applications for the program exceeded the funding. The Programme promotes the use of thermal insulation, renewable energy sources for space and water heating, and passive house design. Four Unifying Principles UNIFYING PRINCIPLES OF ORGANIZATIONAL BEHAVIOR AND MANAGEMENT ABSTRACT Theories and models of organizational behavior and management continue to increase in number and complexity. While much of the recent research has not made its way into standard business textbooks, these textbooks nonetheless offer a broad array of topics and concepts that can easily overwhelm both student and practitioner. No common thread appears to link these disparate topics, despite the fact that variations on the same theory often can be found across topics. This paper describes four underlying principles of organizational behavior and management that distill and synthesize essential features of many of the established theories and models. Each principle ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The concepts related to each principle can be viewed, alternatively, as dichotomous (a choice among opposites), continuous (a point along a continuum), or paradoxical (a contradiction or dialectic to be resolved), and applied in combination to interpret and circumscribe specific theories. Finally, the implications of these underlying principles for teaching management and organizational behavior as well as for conducting organizational and case analyses are discussed. THE UNIFYING PRINCIPLES There are four unifying principles presented in this paper, each principle represented by two contrasting concepts. The principles are briefly described below, and the application of each principle to organizational behavior and management is illustrated through several examples. The intent of these examples is to demonstrate the range of applications for each principle, rather than to provide an exhaustive analysis. • 24. Phonemes In The English Language Question 1 Language is a very important system of communication that can be either spoken, written, or consisting of the use of words in a structured and conventional way. Language has the profound ability to be communicated either verbally or nonverbally, using the movements of the lips (reading lips), hands (motions), and even body language as methods of communication. Language widely varies among communities and one s abilities (hearing, mobility, etc). Phonemes, or the smallest unit of sounds in a spoken/sign language are imperative due to the fact they help distinguish one word from another. Each phoneme represents a different sound a person can make. There are forty four phonemes in the English language, and hundreds of spelling alternatives that can be used to represent them. Phonemes consist of both vowels and consonants, and can be anywhere from one letter to three, in no particular order. A phoneme can consist of a single morpheme. Morphemes are the smallest meaningful unit in the grammar of a language. These additional letters or words that are added on to existing words help create more meaning for the word itself. i.e. adding s on the end of a word can suggest either possession or plural. Two of the most notable works that male privilege played a key role in were Jack London s The Sea Wolf and Julie Otsuka s The Buddha in the Attic. While both novels contain male privilege in them they both take pretty different approaches to the same idea. In The Sea Wolf, women are seen as frail and only fit for certain types of work, most of that work being rearing the children and taking care of the house. In The Buddha in the Attic, the story is very different. Women are expected to do everything that a man would do and much more. The setting of both novels start off in America at the turn of the century and the main characters are either from or had moved to the west coast. Sweatshops generally are factories that provide workers with socially unacceptable working conditions, especially dealing with clothing items. With the expanding apparel industries around the world, more and more corporations are using sweatshop factories to their advantage. • 34. Pros And Cons Of Indians The establishment of the Virginia colony was a rough, and tough one. For many years after the first settlement the establishment lacked advancement and was a great failure to it s original expectations. Despite the claim that the colonial experience between two cultures results in the destruction of the inferior culture, the superior English could have easily been wiped out had the inferior Indians let them stare to death. Yet, because of this helping hand, the saved Europeans, with more superior economics, technology, and lustful desires in mind seized the land right under the Indians. Were the Indians fated to be destroyed based on the decisions and the circumstances of both parties, and why? The Indians were unfortunate collateral damage to their own helping hand, boosting the likelihood of their destruction and the growing greed and selfishness of the Whites. With many cultural differences, morals, and action the Indians were not exactly up to par with the European s current way of life. Bringing lustful desires of profit, and imposing intentions to the New World the Europeans were armed with much more powerful weaponry, bigger and better ships, and ambition for greater things. A word to describe the dominating whites, would be opportunists . The Importance Of Mangroves In Australia Mangroves are trees and shrubs that can be found along coastal intertidal zones in tropical and subtropical areas near the equator due to their inability to survive in low temperatures. Mangroves are found not only in australia but on coastlines all over the world and are distributed over 100 countries in the tropical and sub tropical regions of the world. Australia contains the third largest area of mangroves in the world after Indonesia and Brazil, totalling around 11,500 km2 representing approximately 6.4% of the world s total mangrovearea (Appendix A) (Mangrovewatch.com, 2017). There are 73 different types of mangrove species in the world. 39 of these mangrove species dwell in Australia. The intertidal zoneor littoral zone, is the area that is exposed at low tidebut is submerged by seawater during high tide. Mangroves survive in salt water on sheltered muddy shores, because they have adapted to the harsh abiotic conditions in order to survive in their area. Mangroves also provide a habitat for marine organisms such as fish, crabs and yabbies. Furthermore they provide a habitat for many land animals such as birds, pythons, lizards and crocodiles. How mangroves contribute to the functioning of intertidal ecosystems will be discussed on this report. Mangroves have a very important role in their ecosystem. • 37. Appeacances of Tim Burton in His Own Films Tim Burton is a unique American filmmaker that grew up watching horror movies, and even lived near a cemetary. He was surely a self admitted oddball. However, Tim s style always seems to appear in any movie he directs. A few movies are Edward scissorhands, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and Corpse Bride. These movies represent his interests, inspirations, and life experiences. Some of Tim s techniques are different, with a touch of darkness, and suspense to create his style of flashbacks, gothic theme, and irony. One element that is contributed to Burton s establishments, and cinematic style are flashbacks. Flashbacks show what occured in the past. For example, in the film Edward scissorhands, there s a scene where Edward Scissorhands has a flashback of his father replacing his hands with prosthetics. Flashbacks make the audience feel sympathy, because he is close to getting hands but his creator died. This flash back is essential for defining Burton s style, because flashbacks are necessary to the plot, or gives characters depth and meaning. Similarly, in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, the director uses flashbacks in the scene where Willy Wonka had a flashback of his childhood. In this scene, the audience learns how Wonka s father was exteremely strict on eating candy. This goes to show how Wonka became a candy maker. Furthermor, in Corpse bride Emily, the corpse bride, has a flashback of when she was alive, and when she was in love with a lord. It finally ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This is a perfect example of how abandonment of principle leads to submission. After being beaten and seeing their leader fall, one after another they gave up their principals and beliefs in the old system and submitted to the new teacher. In fact as they more began to fall and submit the words seemed to jump out of their mouths and attack their old leader. These traitors found it convenient to abandon their old system of beliefs and not having anything else to base things off of, and submit to the new system of authority. He lives in a quiet house, in a quiet town, with quiet people. Bilbo is a plain and simple individual. Throughout the book, however, Bilbo is faced with difficulties that he never dreamed would confront him. He could have traveled home, Bilbo missed his home very much, but he thought about how the dwarves have been trying to return home for many, many years. Bilbo thought about his friends feelings, not just his own. He was willing to help them even when it meant danger for himself. Bilbo shows courage in the face of danger. The Van Allen belts consist of an inner and more concentrated belt of protons at a distance of 3,600 km and an outer and less concentrated belt of electrons at a distance of 10,000 km~cite{wilson}. In the most intense regions of the inner belt, exposure can be lethal after a few tens of hours~cite{smart}. This created uncertainty at NASA for whether or not humans could ever travel to the Moon and beyond. In response, the scientist who discovered the Van Allen belts, James Van Allen, proposed a controversial method of removing the trapped radiation. He suggested that a nuclear detonation in space might cause the trapped protons to escape from the Earth s magnetic field. The theory was never directly tested, but a similar test that detonated a 1.4 megaton bomb in the atmosphere showed that in fact more radiation was added as a result~cite{popsci}. The second source of space radiation is called a Solar Particle Event or SPE. This type of radiation originates from solar ejections of charged particles, usually as X rays~cite{nasa}. The cause of an SPE is generally attributed to a loss of ideal MHD (magnetohydrodynamics) or stability within the Sun s atmosphere~cite{forbes}. Although SPE s can eject over a billion tons of matter into space, the Earths magnetosphere can deflect most of the charged particles.
